"Do you see anything that could be even remotely considered balanced like yeah. Today was a shit show. It's soft i hated. Why and then whatever fill in the blank. None of the three words someone day place grass where he's talking about it but all three word responses are pretty bad. Somebody said growing growing pains. Relax so that's okay as showed some fight. Okay that's okay. You like that on the positive side. I it is thing though butts for brains. That's said duty. That must have been right after the panel. Why greg ward play calling. These are the the growing pains relaxed. One that's really funny. They are perhaps that back. Though isn't it yeah. I didn't think we would get any of these this week this year. Part of me after week one. I thought there would be just this new found energy in this city and we would never have these funny ridiculous tweets to after a game but it only took a week for everything for the earth to return to its normal access here in the city says take the points. Yeah that's going to be the big one here the big winner but you know what this is. I'll tell you it's happening early in the season. It's happening in a season where the expectations are not win the super bowl or really even win the division. But i i'm glad that nick serianni went through something like that. That's not only as frustrating as it was. I'm sure to watch it but as humiliating as it will be in this city this week because you know so. Many people will focus on that play. We talk about growing pains learning experiences teaching moments. Let's give these guys an opportunity to grow from that. And i imagine just based on how he's been here since day one that's gonna burn him and stick with him like oh my god. I can't believe i did that. So i'd much rather have. This happened this early in the season. Early in his tenure. I'd much rather had happened now than and of november early december when it might be a crucial point in the race because the nfc east is shicho with of itself. And it's a literal dumpster fire of a division it it's such a mass not a Winner division it at six and eleven. Yes very much. So you're gonna get number. It doesn't matter what the eagles record is. They could still be in a fight for for a playoff spot and knicks. having bonehead episode like he did today is is going to be so much worse than having it week to maybe getting a little a little a little too cute here in there after some success in week one. It's everything that can there. There are so many things that can be figured out. Everything can be figured out to go forward. I am just hoping we are not having the same conversation next week about the same face. That's my biggest concern right now. In that loss will be ten times worse nip this one in the bird in move forward on a positive note out absolutely no. I don't even want to think about losing dallas anything along those lines. Were only focused on can learn from this loss. Here i will focus on that coming up. There's one thing that. I wanna get your thoughts on this both of your thoughts on this because it up trying to find something positive not arrest on by any means but to kind of balance out towards the ed and i think with jalen hurts. We have something here. That very few teams in the league have where. It's not just a kid who can run but a kid who can maximize space. And i'm using this. Specific example is this team's gonna be down again this year in the second half and when defense is play off a little bit that full-on prevent but when defenses are playing a little soft. Jalen hurts is the difference of turning an eight yard gain into a twenty five yard gain. Where all of a sudden that shortens the amount of cloth that's left and you can narrow a lead down or a deficit down. I think much easier with a guy. Jalen hurts where he doesn't have to make a big throw. And i just want to see how this team can continue to maximize that knowing that. Look we know. This team is going to be in deficit here or there in the second half. That's something we haven't had. I'd argue since vic right. Yeah i mean jalen hurts athleticism he. There's not much. He can't do today. His his accuracy was not as good as it was last week. But i still don't think he laid a poor game by any stretch. I think he his instincts that he has and his ability to command the offense and his ability to just be the best athletes on the field. You feel confident that you always have a shot in any given situation and since vic is probably he was the most athletic quarterback. We've had until jalen hurts dr randall. But you know he's my guy wrought with them but since since he was before jalen hurts. I think vick was probably the most athletic quarterback we had prior. That's not that's not. If not particularly close in terms of their absolutely no no no right but just just that threat right i mean that makes sense ratios well just to have that threat late in a game to narrow the field and short field. Not many quarterbacks can do that. You've got lamar. You've got cuyler. Josh allen aren't many guys that can do that and it makes it exciting to watch just overall. He made some plays like he was able to. I like to say give free his legs. That's what i've been saying. We wanna see that like you wanna be able to see him you know. Take off and you get a first down so being able to see him doing that. Any had a really nice girl which could have been a touchdown to jalen rieger immunised. You know his fault that he wasn't able to stay in bounds so we we see some good things he just has to continue to build on it. Would you have once the both three one six on the chat. They'll be fine now. That's the most positive that we've had since we've started this instant reaction show on. Bgn radio today. Our that's the puck now justice shaking her head. Ptsd and i it there to would it was just it was. It was just really disappointing. It's it was a really disappointing day. I just expected even if they didn't win. I just expected better. I expected better than they did. I don't think they won't be fine but it was a really disappointing performance from top to bottom did come out and holds them to hold the forty niners to a three and out to start. Eagles get the ball. And you're like all right. Let's party and it did not adjust it was. It was a letdown. An extremely down.

"Michael's gov g. investigative correspondent for yahoo news. I'm dan kleinman editor in chief of yahoo news and i'm victoria city. A fellow at the brinson her for justice and back from vacation from the smoky hills of california. We want to hear about that victoria. But that's for another show so look it was just last thursday. I- brilliantly prognosticate did that. The taliban might actually take over the country by september eleventh the twentieth anniversary of the attacks on the world trade towers and the pentagon. I was off by several weeks. The taliban d- beat me to the punch. And you know it. Just underscored how rapid how chaotic and how paradigms changing the events have been in afghanistan over the past. Several weeks put in particular over the last few days. There's a lot to dig into about this. But i'd like to just sort of point out that politically. I think this is going to have a huge impact. It's the first real black eye for the biden white house. Although the american public may have in poll after poll supported the idea of pulling out nobody watching the images on tv of the chaos and free fall. That's going on there Can feel really good about it. And this could have lots of spillover effects for the biden administration and what it what happens in congress and politically across the country. I agree that at least in the short term. It's hard to know exactly how it plays out. This is a politically a big problem for. Joe biden irony. Is that what happened over. The last few days vindicates the basic policy to get out of afghanistan. And i think. I think it was inevitable. No matter how they did it even if they executed a brilliant operation to get out the taliban was gonna take over the country. The fact of the matter is the only way you were going to ever make it work. There is if you fundamentally changed the dynamics of afghan society right and that just wasn't going to happen you the country it's to tribal it's too fragmented. It's too resistant finish. It's too resistant to the idea of a unified state. And you know so. I think not only was biden right about getting out but trump was right. Who really excel. I guess obama set it in motion but trump really accelerated accelerated. It so the real problem is the way it was done which was totally botched and these searing images of how it happened. These chaotic desperate scenes at the kabul airport with people clinging to a us air force c. Seventeen transport plane politically damaging. And i will just last thing. I'll say before you jump in your normally americans. Don't pay that much attention to foreign policy. And they don't vote on on foreign policy issues but the exception is when there is a real debacle that makes that makes would make the president look incompetent and week you can think about. I know reagan. You know the two hundred and forty-one marines who were killed at their barracks by a terrorist organization and nine hundred eighty one or whenever nineteen ninety-three whenever that was or jimmy carter and desert one in the failed attempt to rescue the hostages in iran. And this is of greater magnitude or worse one and then then either either of those two something just two quick points before victoria within your number one is those clips of biden from just in in april and then in july saying we're not gonna see the images like we saw in saigon in nineteen seventy five and saying again. It was highly unlikely that the taliban are going to rapidly move in and take over the country. Those clips are going to be played over and over again and cut in in hundreds of political republican political ads. And it's hard to see how biden can effectively rebut his own words which have been proven so false and secondly your point about this vindicates the argument for getting out assumes that the mission at this point was to quote win the war or achieve you know or to nation build and leave a democratic afghan- afghanistan behind that but auto commission. That's why we were there for twenty years wrongly but the argument on the other side has been by the time of you know in the last couple years we were just managing a bad situation and as has been pointed out we only had about twenty five hundred troops there. We had no american casualties in twenty twenty at all and afghanistan was off the front pages. It was that american public wasn't thinking about. It wasn't talking about it so you know if that was the alternative. I think a lot of people looking at the you know the disaster of last few days. We'll say yeah. Maybe if that was the alternative well battles. I think what you're saying is there was no longer any debate really about whether to get out. Everyone was in agreement. So all you really have to talk about is how it was done managing a bad situation which may have gone on for a few more years or maybe more when trump come on by. I yes victoria. We're both wrong. You know i don. I think you're both both right. Eye matic no wonder host. So i'm thinking about the kind of the domestic. Us politics that are going on right. Now and Thinking on the speech. That biden gave today monday. I think it was on the one hand. Possibly the most coldhearted speech. I've ever heard an american president give about our foreign policy. It was it was almost brutal in its kind of clinical dissection of what's going on in afghanistan and washing his hands of it and read defining the mission Or the lack of mission that we have there. And i think at least in his much as it was a brutal speech i i wonder first of all if there was very much different about that speech that biden gave then what trump might have given in terms of his reasons for withdrawing from afghanistan. And i also think that he was laying the groundwork in his defiance and by the way he's not getting much defense from democrats or republicans for what's going on in afghanistan right now. There is a rare bipartisan unity. In thinking that. What's happened in afghanistan is and i think i can say this. 'cause podcast total shicho right. So i think what he is doing is laying the groundwork for a relentless defense of the decision. And he's he's betting that these awful images are going to fade away over the course of the next two months and that in two thousand twenty two we will have all forgotten about it because it's afghan people who are being affected not americans. Well we will all forget about it. If al-qaeda does not reconstitute other jihadis do not flock to afghanistan and end start mounting attacks on the west and also the images of what happens in afghanistan. are there mass murders going on. We'll see what peterberg and says about al qaeda's ability to reconstitute in afghanistan. Use that as a as a base for for operations outside of afghanistan. interesting that al qaeda. It's been i think since something. Like two thousand and five in england in london that al qaeda has successfully struck outside of the region in an organized attack. Not just lone wolfs who were inspired by al-qaeda but i i was gonna say i agree. I really agree. One hundred percent with what victoria was saying about the kind of speech. It was and that it could have a little more eloquent. I think probably than if donald trump had given it but the same kind of sentiments. And and i think what was effective about it..

I'm feeling great. You know just sitting here fresh out this fugger bed you know trying to turn back up hell you as good to have you in here man fuck and i i mean i guess other say i became a fan of your music probably twenty thirteen twenty fourteen and you were going crazy and i felt like you career kinda got stopped short at some point like you just kinda like legal problems got in the way and shit and you weren't really able to turn up the way that you were my life first round draft pick for a while there. I was like this is about the blow man. That's that's like that one foot in one foot out life like ours house here still in the streets. But i was reading. But i didn't really like now that the stream is going on. It's like oh it's holding the bag out there. But i was trapping rapid. Still trying to be known but i'm still doing all the streets so i was really. I was on the run for like two years. So that project. I was supposed to Nasty diller to get a big bag for that project. Chris brown gucci man right. I tie darko near everybody on there. And i wasn't able to go travel and do all the stuff that i needed to do. So real legal problems man. So i feel now where so. Okay give us a little bit of rundown exactly where you're from where you grew up in and around. La and shit. Well email is break baby that they know a shitty city not the other rare with the real shitty you have saved from raleigh sixties amount to sixty right out there in la south central. So the other shitty that you're referring to when i first heard about all that which we can get to at some point that was kind of my reaction is like damn all right. There's a bunch of people and their shitty from out that area. Yeah man yeah. That's that's actually one of my little hobbies. But i really don't wanna talk too much about it. But we get we touch on the i don't know interviews about initiate for sure. Okay but so early on you coming up. Where were you born and raised around. My ear are so like. I'm right from like south central so i grew up like in like on slots in crenshaw but i also grew up on adams in like crenshaw like crenshaw on adams kershaw jefferson so i'm gonna product above but his both to cripple is sixty but i went out to atlanta when i was seventeen analysis. Like we're big meeting now. Really i just got out of juvenile hall. My mamma wanted me to get up out of there. But i was playing basketball so i went to clark atlanta university and is out there flooded with meet and all living eggs in you get with them right away when you went out there and put basketball well. My cousin. My cousin and my sister used they boyfriends was from vmf at the time. Oh soon as i got out there like learning stabbed streets ooh dot actually go right so but okay you get out there how you get introduced to be an did they they to do to stay out of trouble as well. "On twitter today on thursday rather but nobody wanted to watch it live the clips of joe saying that all federal employees will be vaccinated or regularly tested on top of mass and social distancing that the delta variant is the reason even on vast vaccinated people are even vaccinated. People need to wear masks now. And he's also saying that's not a flip flop from may when he said vaccinate people don't need to wear mass and that he's not ruling out further total lockdowns of businesses or vaccine mandates. If he can do them legally so those mentions and clips definitely got people's attention. After the fact i think you can call people like Updating code protocols. A flip flop though. Don't think that's a fair assessment because like it's a flip flop user like. Hey i'm gonna you know. I'm running on forgiveness of student. Debt pats like the. Cdc announced like earlier in july that no mass would be required at schools. Right and then. They announced the two weeks later that mass would be required at all schools and they're saying delta variant but. I don't think it is a flip flop. Yeah but the. The reason was dances change as soon as they started using stuff out. People that hadn't got vaccinations for like a dodged. It need to get it and then they hit a wall essentially with vaccinations just fucking wall. Everyone that god one is going to get one and it wasn't enough people and then the delta came in they also mismanagement. Yeah they're also causing this shit by mismanage. Yeah exactly yeah. But whatever they're saying it's no flip-flop it's no mismanagement wordperfect and do what we say and also again not ruling out further total lockdowns or vaccine mandates. If he can legally do them again people are either very excited about it or very very angry. And that's today's cup of coffee in the big time you i keep thinking about is like i. 'cause i totally agree that Overall since day one this has been a shicho of terrible communication from our government. Both trump of biden. Everyone's just sucked their common denominator. There hasn't been like donder. So how would you have done it though. Like i feel like if even if you point found she even if she was perfect. Whoever they appointed they're perfect. They're still going to get eaten alive somehow. Like what would have been a better way to communicate. Exactly what's going on. How regularly i mean i just think that the fact that i think the polarization of politics right now has made it impossible for anybody because the fact that you have both parties wonder to rip each other's throats out every fucking day you know. Eighty one million versus seventy five million. What was it whatever. The final tally was of the trump first biden votes. And they're also polarized and wanna fuck each other over at every turn and and the the you know the the dis try to fuck over the current administration all of twenty twenty and then now the ours are trying to do the same in reverse. It's just the polarization makes it so that we can't come together and do anything as a country. I think. But that's just my opinion. We need like a national day of neighborly. Competition like a sports like a field and national field is what we need. You can get on an alien invasion or an alien invasion. That's another anything you would be grace. Yeah common ground. Common ground some common ground and that's a cup of coffee. The big time which was brought to you today by word to do you ever sit around and agonize over how a sentence should be written like you. You can press on the email but you just need to make sure that sentence doesn't make you sound stupid fuck it fuck it. Yeah we end up saying and then you sound stupid. I know i used to waste time doing that. All the time until i got word tune. There's no need to waste precious time agonizing over the perfect sentence with word tune..

That's where really fucking kills. No i i think that It was always in the stars for me to be A comed- comedian and You know my dad's very funny In his own way. And even my mom you know has her own fucked up sense of humor That's more mean than anything but like he's still funny lady and and you know my whole family is just us. All six of us hanging out together is like just non. Stop crying laughing lake because everyone on our family just so funny My sister you know joe joe. She's the funniest person i've ever met and like our face times literally. Two hours of us like wheezing from laughter trying to get her into comedy to do stand up. She's done yes she's done. Stand up She she did stand up one time and her set was so fucking good that she was just like. I don't wanna do it again. Really yeah i can do it okay. I'm done i'm done and luckily you know she has the. She did the same thing as i did where she wrote it out like a monologue and memorized it and it was so fucking good. Beat for beat not a dead moment and it was like a solid like five minutes set at club coming in new york and the room aided up loved her and then she just was like we have now. I know what it's like to be a standup. i'm retired. Yeah she's yeah she's a gemini. I love her so much. And she just She is so naturally talented. She's also an actress and she's working on a tv show for free form right now. Just such a star But she's truly the funniest person i've ever met and she's like twenty four. Wow yeah twenty. Five now But yeah i think. Stand up as tight. I love I haven't done it since cove ed since before. Kobe and I i've been taking like a pretty good hiatus to work on my mental health. Because i think for a while i was comparing myself to every other musical comedian In a really toxic way. And i was just like a us. This pause time of cova to just recalibrate and figure out what i want and I don't know that. I want to go back to it. I think i had a really good time doing as many shows other doing but i burned out so quickly and then now i'm kind of sick of my own material so yeah i don't want and then i'm like kinda onto other things that i'm like working on that. Yeah that i don't really have time to invest in like writing new stuff. But yeah but thank you for for saying myself i yes. Yeah oh my gosh. Okay so. I was gonna ask about shicho steph to. I wanted to ask you. I wanted to ask you. Do you have any moments in your career that you would sort of. I guess describe as having been shit show moment where things just went to faulk. Yeah absolutely I think i mentioned earlier. I'm a recovering addict Or if i did it. I was probably hinting at some point And so i did have like a long lake long and slow bottom. It wasn't like lake fast. Like you know i got a dui. I went to jail and then went to rehab and now and so it's like i had like five year long bottom where it was like a slow and gradual process of like me coming to terms with the fact that i had issues with substances You know trigger warning you know. Try to kill myself like three times in my sophomore year of college over a relationship that had ended and is like my first serious partner. And i broke up and you know i just went off the deep end for five years And so like while. I was you know killing it and having a good time with like comedy and with acting and stuff For the second half of my time in college i was like medicating very heavily to be able to do that. i think also like i mean i could even say that the bottom started after school of rock because being sexual as a ten year old gives you so much emotional trauma to deal with and to live with And you know. I have a pretty loud inner critic that i used weed and drugs and alcohol and adderall coke whatever to just silence that voice sacks food lack of food all of it like you know and i'm like the trueblue definition of an addict which you know. The dictionary defines as somebody who like can't differentiate the true from the false Somebody who has codependent tendencies with substances people and things. You know So i'm literally like just powerless over people places and things in there was just like a stint of time where i was doing coke every night at lake stand up shows and couldn't do a set sober couldn't anything sober Environment almost warrants it. Because it is. If you are doing standup i. I really need to reflect on if i want to continue drinking while doing it too because for a while i'm like i'm not a really big drinker at all but i find myself almost every show at every performance trying to you know at least one glass or something to take the edge off then i could see how it really quickly becomes a lifestyle. That's how it started for me to like..

"All right everybody welcome back. We're talking with mary. Trumper new book the reckoning our nation's trauma and finding a way to heal is out now hardcover preorder august seventeenth is drops. So everybody jumped on wherever you get your books and and before the break we were talking about people being unprepared to handle opening backup or having the the fire hose. Shicho turn off and you know leave his. I remember when i was getting ready to flee from a an abusive relationship and right before that happened. The abuser went into the hospital for three weeks almost a month and over those weeks i was like. Hey it's really nice here right now. I can bring my cat in doors. I wasn't supposed to do that. I can use a gray towel instead of a white towel. I can go and see my friends and have lunch without birth having to draw a map and check in and so you you start realizing that but at the same time it felt but it was also very terrifying and i that was inexplicable to me but i imagine some sort of the same things apply here. Yeah and it's all still unfolding against this backdrop of very disturbing political instability. You know we. We've been so betrayed and we're so tired and it's it's it's incredibly destabilizing and disheartening and praying and although things to realize that it's not over we can't let our guard down and how how do you negotiate all of those things at the same time and i'm not sure you can because it's all it makes it even harder to draw the line. Okay what is what is what is a reaction to what's really going on the world and what is the the knock on effect of the isolation and the stress because of coveted and what is legitimate psychiatric or psychological problem or physical problem. You know so. We're still in this really amorphous. What's the word. I'm looking for Society your whatever i mean. Our lives are still really amorphous. Sorry to be so eloquent but because nothing settled in you know that was one of When again when. I was first writing. The book proposal was in october. So is before the election and it was sort of a writer own adventure and you know i needed to make it clear to a perspective publisher that i had a good idea either way but the truth of the matter is if joe biden of laws lost. Ibm tahiti. or something. And i i remember you. And i have a discussion early on when this was still when we were still in the middle of it and how devastating it was to our psyches to have such an uncertain future because you brought up uncertainty not to be able to make plans not to be able to sink. Look forward anything. We had nothing little literally zero to look forward to and you know. I think that that kind of in combination really sort of just adds to the you know the. It's like a snowball effect. You know but you know this book also talks about how you know that. Trust relationship whether you have it with another individual or whether you have it with the institutions that govern your country how we have to heal in order to build that trust back that we have with these institutions that we've relied on for so long. Well yeah it's a terrible problem not to have faith in things you've always had faith and one of the worst things about the lasts for five. Years is the ease with which that instability became was injected into the system Which again though leads us should us to believe that it's been going on for very long time but a lot of us have the luxury of not having attention and that's another that's another aspect of this that i'm pretty sure most black americans under have understood this forever so i think it. It gives us an opportunity to recognize that but it also gives us a chance to We we imagined. I don't think rebuilding is can't rebuild something. That's that's if the foundation is essentially sand and swamp. So because in why do we want to rebuild that anyway. We want to rebuild this incredibly unjust society We want to rebuild something that doesn't work for a huge minority of us or do we want to start over and say listen The american experiment is great. But it's never been realized this is this is never been a democracy so maybe we should start there. Yeah i agree. Pulled a political ease of doing that aside. An you know considering everyone who's gonna make it as difficult as possible to do that. Because the you know the white men white supremacists they want that status quo. They're they're terrified of the quote unquote great replacement. It was the number one motivator for for the insurrection and charlottesville and for all these You know militant extremist white supremacist groups out there. And so it's it's gonna be it's gonna be tough road and in this new book. Do you start to address how we can do that. Yeah but i'm gonna keep that a surprised. no yeah. let's not. Let's not give that away just so that you know that's in the book. Everyone that you need to get to everyone you know. It's the most vague sense. "That you are checking your progress on goals in. Are you actually funneling up to. What you said is going to happen. Are you driving the necessary results from the efforts. You keep putting in because if you're not then there's fundamentally something wrong and you may need to change the goal. You may need to really voice your concerns and change the initiative. Or if it's really that bad and you're really off course. You may need to reassess the alignment you have in the company around the seo's ability to influence the company's core objectives. You know if this year has taught me anything. It's that there is nothing that you can expect as certain as right you might start out in january and everything has gone smoothly and businesses. Great and people are listening to your podcast and february happens. And you have a baby and you know you have time planned off and you know how much vacation you're gonna use and everything you're doing is just common up mill house and then all of a sudden march hits and there's a global pandemic and all of a sudden everything changes in all the meetings and all the resources and everything that you thought you had set up comes crumbling down and i know this isn't something that just happened to me in the podcast game or jordan you with your job. This is everybody that was listening. This year had some sort of negative of fact and some replanning and resources that were taken away or moved around or just excuse my language a total shicho of a year and look. That's maybe something that'll happen again next year but the moral the stories. You need to think about building in flexibility. And when you're building in your goals and how your lighting with your organization and that trickles down to which roadmap is you need to understand that these things are not set in stone that these are the plan at the beginning of the year but they are living breathing. Either documents or tools that you need to constantly tinker with. Hey we're gonna you know execute against these three projects and q one. What she one ended up being a disaster. We had to prioritize some of the things now. Those are cute to initiatives that affects q three and q four. So you know. How often do you recommend that you look back on the road map. How long should you be adjusting. The roadmap wants the cadence that you think about actually pivoting adjusting. That is a phenomenal question. And one that largely is driven by the goal of south right and part of setting goals is knowing that you're going to create a roadmap that allows you to test your way into it right and so for really smart ass ios and smart marketers on our episode today. You need to be thinking more strategically about the milestones that you're setting how you're reading out those milestones the rest of the organization so that they can both generate confidence in what it is that you're trying to achieve that goal and people can become more aware of how seo actually works. And i think this is one of the biggest challenges for seo in particular. Is that the big goal of getting more traffic or more users or more. Whatever it is is not being well documented for what took place to get there. What actually happened in order for traffic to come so to answer your question been around. How often should you be setting milestones. And how should you be checking in course correcting for what is inevitably going to be changes in your plan. Is that's dependent on the goal. That's dependent on what it is. You are measuring and ensuring that you have enough checkpoints along the way based on the risk tolerance that your organization is taking with a particular effort. I'll be honest. I'm a big fan of moving. The goalposts i think you know the goal is to land universally and mrs just. Seo's pacific but the goal when you're going through the years to set an objective for yourself. That's going to help you feel like you accomplish something that's going to show the value that you have within the organization but sometimes you don't get dealt good cards and sometimes you're dealt all aces and you need to adjust because if you hit your goal of your hundred twenty thousand n- million page views in q. Three you don't get to stop working. You have to continue to accelerate and continue to have something to focus on and vice versa. If you know everything breaks down and you're know you're not going to be close. You pivot your gold downwards and you start to think about what you can achieve. That helps you get to where you wanna be considering the circumstances and the circumstances always change your right. Then i am a little concerned that year a sandbag and you are always accomplishing your goals. Two thirds of the way to the year. But the reality here is that you have to be flexible. You have to be aware that goals need to change in particular not necessarily the golden age age. But the plan may need to change in order to achieve. What is the company wants to be making a joke. But if i hit a goal two thirds through the year adjusting. I'm trying to think of either what i wanna do. An set myself up her success for next year. I'm building foundation going back and securing what we're doing orange just adding more volume down. You know the work does not stop. Montreal be in montreal or whatever those for starters is mostly non hockey fans I would imagine that some hockey fans in the mix as well but you should be should be frustrated. You should be mad at those people. Because they're part of the reason why you can't tailgate before red blacks or a senators game. I mean plays into it as well. The franchises want everybody to come in and spend their money You know in the building. But the reality is i think fans would would in the big picture. Keep on drinking when they come into the building and have a better time as a result of tailgating so big part of it. It's tried intrude all across america whether it's college or pro sports and you should be frustrated with montreal fans and vancouver fans back in two thousand eleven behaving like idiots right. Reckon it like you said for everybody. I'll tell you my favorite story along those lines stevie I i went to many many great cops with the what they call the spirit of edmonton group. Heroes shows up. And it's big giant lobby. Steve and there's a fountain there. Okay and so sure enough you know. How long is it going to be here about ten seconds before someone dives into the fountain. Okay roller she's not spilling their beer. You know stevie going doing the doing the back in the backstroke. And then a few more on tv intro to friends right. Yeah yeah exactly right there. You guys guy busted into the shoeshine stand that was in the front ravi and the painting his buddies face with the black shoe policy. It was all good okay. It was all good. And so i'm walking out of there. I'm i'm leaving. i'm going good luck with this thing. Okay good luck with this thing and stevie there's like i know a guy and a girl who were behind behind the check in desk adults l. That's it okay. And they're they're kind of petrified stevia. What's gonna happen with with a bunch of drugs. i go. I go for a smoke meat sandwich. Or something. steve comeback and an hour later and there's people lying all over the lobby sleeping okay. There's just like i'm talking about twenty to twenty five people crashed and as i walk in. There's a security guy. There and as i opened the door he turns me puts his hand on my shoulder goes. "Fans. I think james sunday at the pga championship at kiawah island and south carolina phil mickelson becoming the oldest major winner. Ever is that nine on eighteen and the the the crowd is just all around him. He makes the shots. E probably drops it on a twenty five thirty feet from the hole pretty much salt away the victory and the fans just absolutely are all over him and brooks koepka. He's back he's well back of You know he's well sucked up into this crowd and it was a very chaotic scene. And now the pj's issued an apology because things truly were out of control. I think will remember. That always is one of the great scenes in pga history. But i think you'll agree james. It could have gone very very differently. Well i don't get on the pga too much for this right. Yeah i mean this thing caught everyone off guard right the the film machine right the the absolute steamroller that he you know as he walked through the first three rounds and well not steamroll but You know it was. It's it's one of the best stories in a long time. You know in sports Fifty men every time i hear. That's that's unreal. Yeah so so it. It just grows and grows and grows. It's the first time they've had such a big crowd rights since since covid and so that happens right. It's like oh my god right for the people freaking out you know under normal circumstances steve. They got all that under control. They got all that under control. I can tell you this. I didn't event. And i m g was producing it. A golf event Down in the maritimes and it was spoken about it before it was called Wayne gretzky in friends and wayne gretzky brad hall and mariel played mike. We're okay in a match and it was totally unique. Because they had to twenty five hundred people showed up to watch this steve. But they're not. They're not dispersed through the golf course. Right it's the only game on the course so they had to move out every hole. There were three thousand people and they had to move them from hole to hole. Okay so what happens. Steve is i m g who's running it. They went in two weeks ahead. Two or three weeks ahead steve. All the volunteers had to be picked and all the marshalls and they trained all these marshals of handle it. Because if you don't you're going to be shicho right and all that stuff so under normal circumstances. Tv they got all that under control. The king kong and freddie our personalities there's something to latch onto their combat in. I mean Think that this movie liked. That movie is just pure like either you get it or you. Don't yeah that's absolutely right. Yeah and i talk about all these things about overreaching. Pay us because you talked about the other verses movies like batman versus superman. I think is a masterpiece because because it does that. Very thing that i was talking about like creating pathos out of these comical characters for children but it actually pulls it off which is what would some flaws like any movie. But like which is why. I i i. I'm such a big fan of that movie because it's like they did the impossible in my as far as i'm concerned with bachelor superman you know speaking of batman versus superman. I wasn't going to bring it up. Because i feel like every movie. Podcast that talked about this movie brought this up but is there any way for a movie like this to exist where the two people who are in the title. The verses aren't going to team up at the end to fight a bigger foe. Like i mean that is pretty versus. Jason yeah i only one. Italy is yeah. It'd be like. I mean you're already starting out in a bad place. You know what i mean. You're starting out in like oh. Everybody likes both of these characters. Yeah you can't kill one. Yeah but if not in the original god's delivers kong. I mean depending on where you were either king kong swims away or godzilla swims away at the end. I mean for those of you haven't seen it. That is how it ended. Literally the american version ends with they both razzle and fall into the water and it's like who survived and then it cuts to like king kong just like swimming home and like news anchors like we wished the monkey well on his way home safe. Trout mean like from from the get go. One of my kind of like going into this movie was that of course they're going to team up at the end and fight something else. You know what i mean. Yeah because like this whole franchise though is just been such a. You know people talk. About the star wars reboot being shit. Show like this is like the this franchises. The big shicho that first godzilla. The what's his name. Edwards gareth edwards. Just just the worst idea for a movie. A one radio's boring movies. I've seen in a long time..

Destroy buildings but if you see people getting hurt and people like no like that's not fun and if that was their angle then good luck to them. You know it was my attitude. But when i saw it yeah you tried to have your fucking cake and eat it to your family. We'll do backflips trying to defend that movie. And i just. I don't get it. The next one was the kong skull island. And what i liked about that movie so much. Was that the director said. What are you talking about it. It's this is. This is silly movie and that movie is really not good. Because it's like it's just kind of well first of all it's poorly cast other than sammy roy. And it's really like it but the story is such an interesting idea shea. Wiggham is fun in it. Oh he's a now. Yeah i love him. Yeah i forgot his. We're now producing a second movie Stephen carter The alberto energy center. Doing god's work you know young corey hogan brought up the streisand effect. And it's probably going to be renamed the kenny effect Because this is so incredibly perfect they said it had an extra thirty million views as a result of of you know kenny in the war room making in an actual thing. So well done guys. Basically the entire population of canada has now seen the oil and gas industries as the villains the bigfoot movie cast his has so well but it doesn't matter because it's a fucking cartoon and seriously to begin with. I mean that's the it's just like they're just not very good at what they're trying to do. It's embarrassing the fact that these articles would come out that even show that we wanted to fight with the bigfoot movie and then the fact that brought in more eyeballs. It's just. I'm trying to imagine a universe in which you can spend as a win. I'm sure i'm sure we live in that universe. I'm sure that somebody out there somewhere saying this is a win but i mean this is just dumb all around really you. Don't you don't think this is. "Why that's why it's like. It's scary man and their way for probably a lot crazier than i mean it. For yoga lakes ways wave pool was intense for me a nine year old. Imagine what action parks wave pool was. I mean it was probably just like i mean just like the real thing like your fricken rap. I mean they just probably three in honestly really. It looks if you look at it. Looks pretty legit. If i'm being honest books i've ever seen right. That's kinda the thing to kind of interesting about. It is at first glance action park. Looks like a relatively illegitimate amusement. Park or waterpark legat. It just looks like one. You'd see down the road. It's kind of funny. I think i think most of it was the fact that they had like no rules right. She's like a free for all. You know whatever you wanna do. So which is basically what what a lot of the people said ryan was talking about you know. They had their their employees area. But also that was. I mean there were plenty of those areas for the gas as well. So we'll just say yeah yeah. Abandoned amusement parks are terrifying. And there's a lot of very interesting stuff about this. That by the way if you if you haven't been paying attention to the show art for this episode i guarantee you probably should have maybe go back a few chapters and reviews some of that show art because then you won't even have to look up some of these pictures. That will be a lot of fun true true so we really we really covered quite a bit here We we did. We did I do need to go back real quick to leak shawny park true because because i I referenced how i felt but dear listener never feel like i betrayed you because after chad and ryan go. You're gonna have to wait for me to go so Over to chad chad. How do you feel about lake. Shahi park our flagship topic for flagship. Yeah that's a good way to put it. I think it's really cool. And i think it's clo- is it close It's in west virginia. So i it's not like okay. Yeah i mean i. It's definitely somewhere. I'd like to visit. But i am kind of gathering that i might have a little bit of an obsession with abandoned amusement parks. Especially that's pretty cool. Because i do too so maybe we should use that. Yeah so i. I just think they're super. They're super cool. And i think we really should do an episode on noble because like what an absolute shicho. That place was when all that happened. I mean if you guys know the story it's it's like oh my goodness our these people running this thing but anyway that's a totally different topic. Obviously right and. I'm just talking about the ferris wheel at super creepy right right super creepy at all. Anyway i think it super cool. I like all abandoned amusement parks. I would love to explore a man abandoned museum park. And i'm thinking geog lakes probably our goto here because it's probably closer than shawnee park but i need to watch the paranormal side of this because that's Something very not up to date with as far as the investigations and all that stuff. They did here but the park itself is cool. I'd like to visit it. That's where i stand period while as far as me. I would like to say that it is four hours fifty two minutes from here and it's not bad so i could be kind of fun and there's abandoned buses. Oh my gosh.
