"I'm not important belief mistakes and failures. Are Bad believe this is so cool and that Shelley's website and you'll be contributing to shelley and her work by checking out that website. So the steps are first of all what do you want to change what your unwanted pattern which nobody cares about eliminating believes you want to get rid of patterns and pattern is something observable I procrastinate I don't stand up for myself I feel fear all. The time those are patterns, that's really what you want to change, and then you find a belief that's causing the pattern and the first question is what beliefs do you have you wanNA test it say it out loud and see how it feels. What belief do you have? Where did that belief come from? So get to the source. Then after you get to the source, you look at alternative interpretations. then. Doesn't it seem like you saw that belief in the world what set lockstep stepped forward doesn't it seem like you saw belief in the world? Could you elaborate on that? Yeah. So when you go back, doesn't it seem like if we go back to the events, you actually saw money is scarce and hard to get or I'm not good enough for you saw life is hard. Doesn't it seem like you saw that and most people say, yes, there are some kinesthetic people who? Say I felt it which is a whole nother conversation but for ninety percent of you yes, I saw it. If you were there, you would have seen her next step is this is the most important step in the process. Did you ever really see that belief? Does it have a color shape and location and there are moments guys where you're GonNa say yes I saw it. If you were there know about but I did see it and I have people fighting with me I still. Say. Good point to it I'm watching the videotape point two I'm not good enough life is hard now also beliefs people have beliefs like I can't lose weight. You don't want to work on beliefs that come from beliefs. So keep it simple. Does. This seem like you saw. Did you ever see it? No and then the next question is, what did you see and again, you cannot see well, I didn't see. I'm not loveable just. So my Mother didn't love me you cannot see somebody doesn't love you all you ever see or behaviors people do. Would don't do things they're they're or they're not there. So you can see an absence I'm not important is an absence of apparent an absence of attention. So from watching a video tape, I could see your parents aren't paying attention to you. You're alone all the time that is suitable, but I can't see they don't love you and I can't see that you're not important to them. So you can only see bet behavior people doing things saying things or the absence of things. So what did you see now the next step is we're was the belief. And that was in your mind belief was in your head. It's no place other than in your head when you get that I made it up poof that's when it goes away. And you can stop there will you can go on and ask what meaning does it have that that happened what do I know for? Sure. So if you were molested as a child millions of people were molested, the fact that you were molested wasn't fun it was scary at the time, but it doesn't have meaning. We don't know anything about you were men or people life because you were molested. So again, I'm not making light of what happened to you. I'm giving you away to free yourself from what happened to you. Okay. So I don't know anything for sure I don't know own men are not horrible because one man woman did that to you. I don't know that you're worthless or powerless or anything because that happened to you. So what meaning does it have? And then the answer is always going to be nothing but doesn't it seem like that event made you feel That way being molested made you feel powerless yes. Can events that have no meaning make you feel anything and the answer is now Events can't make you feel anything. So what did the meaning I gave the events And then go back it a different meaning. And feeling will go away. then. Say the belief out. Loud. Okay that's amazing. Shelley. The first one is, what is your unwanted pattern I feel fear I feel I'm not good enough etcetera number two what believed you have causing the pattern I'm not qualified I am broken etcetera pre get to the source. Look at. Alternative Interpretations. Go back to the event. What did you see doesn't really seem like you saw what you think you saw. But Russian number five, but you really see that belief that it have a color, a shape location. Question number six. What did actually see? You cannot see a belief only. Something but not a truth for example, your parents were apps and does not mean they did not love you number seven. So where was the belief then and the answer is it was in your head and number eight what meaning that it half the ensemble always been nothing but doesn't it seem that that event made you feel this way can events that have no meaning make you feel anything and the answer is no. So what did question nine? So what did the meaning I gave the events profile go back and give it another meaning. And then say the belief out loud. That's less steps the old belief out. Loud. When you say the belief out loud, it should feel like my clients say it feels silly now. Awesome. Got It. I. Love It. So thank you so much shelly, and thank you all for joining us. For those of you who are listening to this or watching this on.

"You. But we're was I'm not good enough. If that wasn't out there to be seen, where was that? Okay somebody said in me. or in my mom. I can't see what's in your mom. And if you say in me is the belief in your liver is it in your shoulder we're in you was the belief. In my mind. It was made up. Beautiful. See. It's not in your heart beliefs don't live in your heart they live in your head you look at events, and of course, you concluded this that's why I went into the errands business because I want parents enough to this because this is what kids are going to conclude but the only place the belief existed within your welcome was in your mind you made it up now. Let's go one step further I'm not. Saying that what happened to you wasn't tragic sad upsetting horrible I worked with incest survivors my favorite population of people to work with because when I get to this part of the process. What happened to you might be terrible horrible but it's not happening anymore. It happened twenty thirty forty years ago. Why Act meaning does it? What do I know for? Sure because somebody used June through you away as a kid. You don't know anything about childhood. If he told you, I was beaten every day that does not mean he wasn't going to grow up to be a humanitarian. A philanthropist at amazing human being who gets up every single day and makes a difference in the world. You know people say will you can't do five things at once just pick one I look vicious life and I just go. It, feels like he's in three places at the same time and yet he's never overwhelmed. He's never be. Crazy. So the fact that this happened to you as a child has no inherent meaning. It doesn't mean you're not good enough. It doesn't mean you're not a kind loving wonderful valuable person events have no meaning now. Last step. This is very powerful. Doesn't. It seem like a want everybody to right? Yes. On the chat. Doesn't it seem like? The events what happened to you made you feel That belief. So. Your parents criticizing you made you feel not good enough. Or. Being used in thrown away made you feel worthless. Can events that have no meaning make you feel anything? So you walking down the street. Somebody walks man walks past you. It has no meaning. What are you going to feel? You don't choose to feel anything. So stay with me. If a man walks past you and it has no meaning you're not gonNA feel anything right. Happens all the time. If you give it the meaning, he's dangerous. You will feel fear if you give it the meaning hill protect me you will feel safe. All of your feelings come from the meaning you give events not events. Way, all of our feelings come from the meaning we give events, not the events itself ever. Vision walks past dozen say hello and I give it. The meaning of vision is always you know preoccupied with some project he probably didn't even see me. I'm. Not Going to get upset. If. Your spouse walks in and doesn't kiss you hello and they never kissed you. Hello. Until later you're not gonNA feel anything if you give it the meaning they're having an affair, you're GONNA get upset if you give it the meaning they must have had a hard day you're gonNa, feel compassion. So what mids last question, what made you feel? Whatever belief you're working on what made you feel not good enough. Yes the meaning or the interpretation not repeating the thought, your perception, the meaning you gave the event determined. That feeling that you weren't good enough now everybody close your eyes and imagine the same events. Okay, and Anti Shelly is there and we had this conversation and you look at the same events and give it different meaning give it one of the interpretations that you gave. My parents have unrealistic expectations. I'm in a school that's archaic my parents struggle with money but there are people who make it easily and effortlessly. My parents think failure is bad but they don't understand that you can't be successful without failing. And as you're giving the same events, that meaning do you still have the feeling? That you're not good enough, and if you didn't then would you today? Now everybody take a deep breath, save the belief that you worked on out. Loud. Does it feel the same way different? If it feels less painful. Go back. It should feel flat hundred percent go back to the point where you ask yourself did you ever see the belief in the world and if you get that, you didn't the pain will be one hundred percent on now there may be other beliefs. That's why you know we work with people. That's why natural confidence you can go over the different beliefs racing the belief I had completely gone. So as a company is growing, I had a belief I'm not qualified to be the CEO, a Billion Dollar Company that was my belief, right? And then as I went through this exercise, I traced it to something my abusive school principle did to me when I was sixteen years old. And I realized that I formed a belief that I wasn't good enough many many years ago that would have been like which. Was a long time ago, but it's incredible I I. Love this approach, but could you break it down because I was so caught up in the process. I need a refreshing I. Think it's true for everyone else what other steps become the closing in? What are the three steps if you could break down into steps so we can take this down and make it apply to other beliefs..

That's according to a team led by the University of Colorado is Paul Hayne, who says that's 20% more area than previous estimates. You can have that same experience that I have with prime with appropriate information for interested you. Well I'm telling you that I think that that feature alone is going to drive usage and demand because a lot of people would like to see that kind of stuff in the enterprise, not just on on consumer platforms. So you're doing a lot and and just you know before we wrap, can you talk a little bit about some of the innovation stuff you've got planned besides q for the next year? So Yeah. So we're going to continue to lead into analytics and a and machine glorying. We think that that is going to continue to provide a better experience for our customers and their employees were also investing more in Web RTC which right now, we've got a consecration tool called road create that requires you to download an application onto your desktop which Cio's do not appreciate right they. They would prefer not to have to modify a desktop miniature, allow a user just to download something. So we're RTC browser-based you don't have to download anything. So we'll be coming out with a content creation tool that doesn't Require download in the future, and we're GONNA continue to lean into some of those technologies and also additional capability that will allow us to provide better support for some of the marketing cases. So right now, we're really optimized for internal video use cases, and this will allow us to really expand on that for some of the war marketing specific use cases because we feel like an enterprise right now should have to buy multiple tools for enterprise video and we see that a lot right they'll have you know two, three, four, five tools. We can consolidate all it that into a single platform for them. Well that is great and shelly, we know you're very busy and we WANNA. "Welcome back, quick brain your question for today. This is a vehicle on. This is a juicy one. How do you stop worrying about what people think had? He stopped worrying about other people's opinions how other people's expectations their criticism is I believe can be one of the most popular episodes and the reason I say that is because we have a guest returning right now who actually was one of our most popular odes she is our deer longtime friend Shelly left co CO founder of the left coat institute. Thanks for joining US Shelly. Welk on such cited I love doing this review. Oh my goodness, you are an expert, a transformation. Had to get you on camera and the title of the episode was had you undo your beliefs And so we it was so popular and got shared so much on social media we had much response we had to bring you back and. So. Before we go into this. This is a big topic. The. Reason. Why when this question answered is because in the book limitless. In which most of our listeners or viewers have have I talk about a section on mindset where I actually feature your work and then mention you reference you and I talk about how are lies which are limited ideas entertained? Hold us back or just be s they're just belief systems and one of those lies that hold us back is this idea whose number six, the criticism of other people matter criticism of other people matters to us. So what would you say to somebody who's listening right now and they're holding limiting their life in some area because they're afraid of what other people are GonNa Think Or? Do. We start define what belief is or where. Let me start with that. So a belief is statement about reality that you believe is a truth. Like being pregnant. Or you're not it's the truth I believe. You know people are good or not. Good. So we have lots and lots of beliefs. Most of them are unconscious and a lot of them get in our way. Now, this is my favorite of really favorite topic of mine. And and I want to do a deep dive in a short time. So I, had the belief what makes me good enough is having other people think well of me and it had a great life and lots of friends and I wasn't like you know dysfunctional if like dat belief Jim and everybody ran my life so I would walk away from people saying did they Like, me did I say the right thing did I do the right thing like this morning we were talking and I said something and you didn't answer my voice would went oh, my God. He didn't like it. He doesn't like me ever to win off to the races and I just sat there and I waited and you ended up saying I love that you just Hawn's. So how I dressed, you know I wouldn't dress like just expressively I wore like lots of you know solid colors monochromatic. It really ran my life. And Win. I got rid of that belief. I got my life. I called it my Martin Luther King Junior moment because I was free at last. Being me. Free to know that you know when when I spoke in Croatian from his six hundred people in got CPAC and somebody said Oh she was great. I loved her Oh my God. That was amazing boring. You know no matter what you do. Somebody's knockin alike it. Right. So instead of asking what are people going to think about me maybe you can ask yourself what might the consequence be of my actions? Do I want to live with those consequences the way better question, but here's how the belief gets form. You come into this life. You don't know if you're good enough or not good enough. You don't know what makes you good enough you don't know anything right you just born and looking at mom and you look in a dad and you get criticized right? We're GONNA talk about that and loving parents nut junior paradigm terrible bad people but you get criticized and why can't you do this and how many times do I have to tell you? You didn't get an A. On my God right? So we start asking the question the question then will children ask all day Why every day why? Why can't I live up to my parents expectations We're GONNA talk about criticism not living up to expectations and this beliefs over to start with to believe. Why can't I live up to my parents expectations Oh. I. See. I'm not good enough. And it actually feels like you're seeing. I'm not good enough. Right Shelly if you were there, you would have seen I wasn't good enough. No I wouldn't I actually would see your parents criticizing you. I would see not get an a I would see you fail math whatever I would see you not be able to tie your shoes whatever it is. And so we conclude things based on what we think. We see as children and those beliefs stay with us through our lives because you can't not believe something you think you saw. Can you say that again, what it impossible cannot believe something that you think you saw. So if I said to everybody, you know Jim is not Asian they say, Shelly. Gyms. Asian I think knows not yeah I. saw that he was agent is an nate say oh So I can't talk you into that. No because you think you saw it. So you can do self help work and all kinds of work, and you could cope and get better and learning grow. But that will each not going anyplace until you get that you never saw your belief in the world you saw two parents do something say something a teacher use you failed in school back what you saw and the only place I'm not good enough lives is in your mind. So the event itself is so important distinction and ungloved happens conversation for everyone listening the event itself doesn't have any meaning meaning is coming from from insider mind. A hundred percent. Now, that's another conversation about events have no meaning and we can talk about that and we're going to do that and had to get rid of that meaning in the moment because ultimately you have to go back and eliminate your beliefs to change your behavior. And emotions. You can do something in the moment to do that. So leave you wanting more with the. It's back to the belief. So now I have a child now I have the belief. I'M NOT GONNA. At stocks I don't WanNa go to lifelock that. So one day. Somebody acknowledges impact on the head to. Jim You're so brilliant Oh. My God I love you. You're amazing I saw you once staging and you just stand there and all of a sudden you feel good enough. And you say to yourself. Oh. That's so interesting. I didn't feel good enough. Somebody thought well of me and I did feel good enough. I guess what.

"So here. We go shelley. It's time for this week's ldl. Let her so. This letter came in a while ago. Last fall I believe sorry. Yeah you know what we're just still getting through my love. It keeps sending your letters so this is from. Jena generates dear Shelley and Mary. I've been working on this letter for a week or two now. Of course you know like six months or two. Well you're gonNA take a longer ride at we're GONNA take times fifty to okay so to get was getting I keep rewriting it and thinking about it and writing it again which feels therapeutic to me. I love that good. You know what I love that so much. When we started the letters stuff we looking for content. And it's so nice to see the people were getting something out of it as they write them did see. We didn't see any of it coming. We didn't know the letters were getting even going to show up in the first you know and then we realized. Oh my gosh. Why don't we share people's stories if they are open to that gets fantastic? Yeah Jenna continues thinking about my life and imagining a bunch of strangers. Listening to me is helping me reflect again about why I am the way I am and that's helped me notice the Progress I've made in my life so far sweet I know thank you for that. Opportunity Shelia Mary. You're welcome sorry it took so long. I'm adding that also not telling you how to run your podcast. A but for some reason I keep imagining Mary's voice in my head reading my letter. You got your wish agenda that is Mary I will. You can add. Commentary Shelly or not. Okay Jenna continues. I also wanted to mention that I live in Utah Valley and work with someone who worked at DJ auto for a long time DJ mcgruther shop. All world yeah so I got kind of excited when I heard the twice removed connection between me and shelley. It's funny how things like. That can feel exciting even if they're not much of a coincidence. I'm excited I think it's a tender mercy to anyway. Thanks for giving me an outlet to share my story. You are so welcome. Sorry again but it's taken this long. When I was thirteen I started noticing. I've thought a lot about other girls. I noticed I was noticing how beautiful other girls were will. They are I thought about that a lot by which I mean. I thought a lot about how I was thinking about other girls. A Lot Interesting different. Yeah she's like she's noticing. Yes noticing instead of just enjoying checking out other girls right and distinctly remember feeling terrified. I might be a lesbian. I was actually terrified because as a Mormon girl and small town Utah being a lesbian was. What quote rebellious and confused. Girls said they were not good. Mormon girls like me when I think about that time of my life. It's sad how scared and judgmental I was of people who are out of the closet. Yeah you can relate to that shell absolutely. I knew of girls who are bisexual and lesbian at school. But I didn't think by was a real thing and didn't understand what it meant and lesbians were just damaged girls from bad homes while mish. Yeah I was basically. Shelley's dad when it came to thinking that anyone who said they were lesbian was probably confused because they might have been sexually abused by a Man. Yeah. I don't think you're alone in that. No I think that is a common thought right. Yeah doesn't make sense. Yeah it's like three quarters of women by the time they're adults have been sections in some way. Unfortunately not three quarters of women are lesbians. The sad thing about all that stereotyping is that my aunt who is a hero for coming out in the nineties and was in the military she says has been openly lesbian all my life and with one partner for as long as I can remember and I believe her ex husband was abusive. That's horrible so so the the family assumption of course is that the abusive ex-husband turned her gay. Sure Probably Jenna says I also have another relative who was sexually abused as a child and came out as bisexual and lesbian at different times and I also attributed her sexuality to having been abused. Yeah here's a secret for your Jenna. Go Ask all of your heterosexual female family members if they've been abused and most of them will say. Yeah that's uncommon. Yeah because common or harassed in one former new yes something. I think that I created a stereotype in my own. Mind to explain why they were attracted to the same sex which might culture and mormonism than cemented as being true about all gay people. Yeah I think your dad has done the same thing to event for sure. When I came out to him he said well. I know that you know you had an incident of abuse trial. That didn't make me gay down. Yeah and then I used that made up stereotype to explain away other people's feelings. Yeah I get it at the same time. I started noticing that I was thinking a lot about other girls by the way that included thinking about how some girls had nicely shaped breasts. Sean under BOOB. Can we just say we talked about booming a while? We're talking about Barry on nominal embarrassed by that in a while so I am. I guess I mean seriously. It's it's amazing okay. Both sides thank you God or whatever if you believe in that so thank you for not nursing thousand babies like is not also thank you God. Yeah back agenda. I hadn't experienced that looking back confirms to me. That was definitely feeling things and wasn't only thinking about girls as part of a phase one day in gym class. Some girls made fun of my friend and made her cry. She caught a Frisbee and since she's short and Sweden friendly and also had her hair in a certain style. Something like two pigtails on the tougher head with her short hair when she jumped up and caught it. The mean girls in class called her a dog on sucking mean girls. I mean kids can be cruel so drew. She's crying and I'm a friend so her and I remember this feeling. I felt a deep protective feeling while I was holding her. I felt like I was a huge muscular dude. Yes in reality. I was a curvy girl of average height. And she's a very short girl anyway. Jenna says she felt like this huge muscular dude. Who would have beat the shit out of anyone who dared I his girl suggestively like I was a man and she was my girl in my upbringing? That would be the only way for me to explain those feelings. Because the men are the protectors I never thought of women as protectors protective. Yeah I totally can relate to this. I remember being in second grade and I had a crush on a girl named Michelle and I had the same feeling. I just wanted to protect her. Yeah Yeah is weird. I wouldn't have called it anything you know sexual back then. I was too young but I I just wanted to protect her and be around her. So what do you think that is it? Because we're arrays thinking that the man is the protector and so that's like the strong traits that we want own it was gender construct doesn't have to be the man the man isn't doesn't have to be this big burly protector. You know women can take care of themselves while the time. So what is it? Where like in our our gayness is kind of brought out with US wanting to protect women will. I'm sure not. Every woman who comes out has felt that way sure But yes I think that. What the Bucci wounds have sure sure? But you know and I just think that as a society we are still taught fat. Yeah that the men are the protectors and in some cultures. It's more prevalent than in others but that is something that still taught. We were watching. Okay Cova guilty pleasure number. Three Hundred Twenty. Two Ha introduce. Mary Trash TV. So this was ninety day fiance before the ninety days. Okay do I have this right? Yeah good job and one of the couples. This guy was very traditional. He's like men are the protectors and men on go out and work and I mean he's very old fashioned in his thinking so this is not An old fashioned way of thinking necessarily rises still prevalent. It's not like sixty years ago. Especially in other countries I think in different places in the United States. Very an additional possibly. I don't know that it's still a hated hot. Overtly but it's certainly still implied. And that's the prevalent way of thinking so when. I was young and wanted to be around girls and I wanted to protect girls. I put myself in the boys spot as well I thought of myself as a boy and I actually had an imaginary girlfriend from a young age like second grade. I always wanted to open car. Doors or doors to buildings for girls I wouldn't do it because I was afraid to do anything that made me. Look I guess masculine because my brothers would make fun of me and tell me you know ghost. Go so something with mom But I wanted to so bad. Yeah I had no one telling me that sort of thing. That's good so just felt my feelings known them Auburn. Yeah but to make sense of it in my head. I had to be a boy. You my imagination because otherwise it didn't make sense. I didn't know what lesbian was. Or what gain is what. Set you back to Jen's lettuce are generating will side trending dealing with all of those feelings and thoughts and worrying inside. That I was a lesbian. You can imagine my relief when I noticed that was also attracted to guys I was so relieved and explained away my attraction to girls by saying to myself. I notice other girls because I wish to be like them yeah. I've heard that before too. I mentioned before and I'll say it again. I honestly didn't think or believe that bisexuality was a real thing at all. I seriously thought it was made up. She started to think it was all fake. Yeah she actually goes on to say that she put it in like a category of Satan stuff. Yeah it's on an equal playing field with bestiality. Bisexuality is any sexuality does not heterosexual okay. Jenna says. Something I hadn't noticed about myself is that I often felt manly and macho and like a gangly teen boy despite not being gangly in any way around other girls girls growing up. Say Mary IF YOU'RE A boy would I be your girlfriend like I heard that more than once girlfriends did you hap- man as a polygamist? And just getting where. They spiritual a spiritual y. Absolutely it was a spiritual experience now but nothing happened by. They never said if I were a boy. Yeah it was always. If you're a boy would I be your girlfriend right and the funny? It was put me in that role. The probably since your gain could be I didn't have any under boob yet. It's funny genesis. I felt like a girl just tomboy type of girl. Yep I get that. It wasn't just around my one friend GYM CLASS THAT ONE TIME. So the girl with pigtails you. It was around a lot of girls. I thought to myself because I feel macho around girls. I must notice how feminine they are and wished that I was more feminine. So I'm noticing them because I want to be more like them and both put myself down for my feelings and put myself down for not being Feminine Enough Sound Mormon Much. Yeah she sounds like a great little mormon so after I figured out. I wasn't a lesbian. I went along my life as any other Mormon girl I buried my normal day to day. Negative feelings stressed over trying to be perfect and good enough and happy. All the time was horrified at myself for masturbating. Oh Wow and then finding out it was wrong. Buried more feelings deep down when my parents got divorced as I was having a good attitude about it and needed to be the perfect and mature teenager who was above such negative and selfish feelings towards parents had a boyfriend on the down. Low confessed to my bishop for making out with her boyfriend. Too Much wrote him on his mission for nine months then dear John Him there you go. This might be a surprise. Foon Pod for Mary you know dear John a dear John Letter break over a letter right..

"All may just a bunch. We're discussing fake shit. Were discussing nonsense words. Yes yes yes yes. Yeah another person said. This is what I understood as well. This is About the men need to get their ceilings cancelled if they get remarried healing. I this is what understood as well. A friend of Mine's dad is on his seventh temple ceiling and he's still pretty well respected in his ward. My friend's mom wife slash divorcing number. One is really pissed that she stuck with her ex and the celestial kingdom but would never consider getting unsealed him. Because you have to be sealed to go to heaven even if you were sealed. A fucking Jeffrey Dahmer. You made the covenant. God has to have married heterosexuals to get into his version of heaven. Mormon God has to have that will yeah Mormon gods and asked hat and he only will honor a heterosexual marriage. So you get to Heaven's gates knock knock knock knock knocking on heaven's door and let's say you die at twenty one years old On the eve of your wedding And you get to heaven. You're not allowed in because you were not married. Well if you were true and faithful you always. A LOOPHOLE. Course Return Faithful. God will assign you chew man to a worthy man on the because you can't be in this less kingdom as a single person that says so that I am starting to think it's all fake to anyway. Just WanNa bring that up because it blown up on. Read it right now. Everyone's like what the fuck because I didn't know about this the website. Yeah I had no idea because I don't know anyone who's done temple divorce and then at the blue one of my best friends is like. Oh my God shelly. Check this out. And she sends to me. And I'm like what the on I didn't know and clearly most people don't know because when I posted this inbred it people are flipping out. Yeah well thank you. Betty An interesting Topic of discussion crazy. Well well I think the only thing that can follow that up is a pod. We've done a phone pot in a while. I don't think in a day or two. Yeah should he can say. Choose to music phrase Jelly. What is today's phone pod Well Mary? Today's fucked up Warren Fraser. The day is celestial smile. Courtesy of Jeff. Be Thank you jeff for sending that in Fuck you jeff. Thank you Jeff Celestial Smile Celestial Smile so. Do you remember fantasy island deer? Watch that. When you're a kid I did the plane the plane and Mr Rourke is always like smiles everyone smiles right I just feel like you have to smile for for God to get into this less. She'll kingdom you have to always put on a smiley face. You know what's funny? Is that what you're thinking in telling me is incorrect. But what you're thinking telling me is actually super. I've no idea okay with me. I mean I'm GonNa give you a Buzzer because what you're actually thinking is not right. So what the celestial smile actually mean shelling so I wanted to give a good definition and I stumbled on this website. I think it's run by Mormon slow. You know I'm not going to give it up. Whatever will modern Mormon men DOT COM? Oh my God. This is a real red website. It is and there's an article called Mormon radar how to spot a Mormon garment line. That's what we do know. That's what it is. It's on your collar underneath the year. That's your celestial smile. Who Think about the answer you gave was like the only way you can make God happy. This is how we please. God is that we get into home a true. Because if you don't have the celestial smile of the garment you can't get in there as well so maybe I get a partial bell fine redo okay. Let me read this article. It's pretty funny. Gaidar is the ability of homosexuals to intuitively recognize. One another more men seem to have a similar instinct of detecting other Mormons not homosexuals. Although Gay Mormons may have both powers. They're like superheroes says Mormon Radar Mormon. Dr Dr are different terms to describe this skill. I can't decide which one I like. Best my Morin Dr seems to be. Pretty Dang spot on. Ask My wife. I'm not quite sure when I realized I had it. But Grace Grace has developed into a well oiled machine discerning efficiency unlike Gaidar mode cannot be purchased with money. Don't know what that when. Yeah because you have to purchase the garments. There you go worry. Here's some tips developing your own clairvoyance know what to look for be perceptive of the telltale signs that make us visible unique us. Nothing you anymore. Clothing Mormons love layer clothing. A T shirt under a tank top or dress is common and super ugly is a tank top so does he mean garments. When he's saying this I'm not to the part yet who wears a T. shirt under a tank top mormons because they got a couple of their garments the garments down so they have the garments that basically are like some weird tee-shirt. It's not a T. shirt material but it's like a silk fabric material. That's like a t shirts. Looks like shirt correct? So they're wearing that for yup then they're wearing a T. shirt And then a tank top yes. Why even bother with a tank top trying to be stylish when we were watching goonies and your daughter. Sabrina 's like what's with his shorts over the sweatpants member. Josh Brolin was wearing shorts over his sweatpants for like it was the eighteen eighties. So who again back to my question. Who the fuck wears a tank top over a t shirt? It's the weirdest thing women also imagine like a super cute sundress. You know sure strap. They wear t shirts under the sundress behind. Hide the Garm I did that hideous. Had Ds okay moving on shorts. That are just a little too long. These are things that you look for your more into our shorts that are a little too long and slightly. Dorky are a dead giveaway also nothing screams priesthood. Quite like socks and sandals really is not like garments on your feet while the wear socks. Real Dorky. Mormon men out there yeah all right garments look for a white t shirt under a T. shirt who needs to wear to t shirts. The celestial smile can be seen from a mile away Line above the knee is harder to spot. That's the other one but can be seen by the train. Die also beware. I've heard of men putting electricity tape there to bait and switch the young women. I heard that too. Oh so they can have a little higher. No no so guys. Were trying to date chicks. And they didn't have garments didn't go on missions or anything they would put tape around where the garment hem line would be so girl like puts her hand on his leg or whatever she feels a garment line and she's like oh good he's worthy. Oh my God. First of all what virginal young woman is putting her hand on a man's knee that doesn't happen. I mean he just like an a flirtatious form or that you can see it. You can see the Hamline Mormons Radio. Fuck in Nutty nutty and that is a celestial smile basically away to judge others you can look for the garment line so that you know that they're worthy and for the rest of US Gentiles. We could to laugh and point yes Several ways judge everybody else's there. You go when we were on our crews there were few Mormons on the cruise. Well could tell because you know we're on a cruise ship and there's this lady walking around in shorts to her knees Who Wears Short Vinnie? Unless YOU'RE LESBIAN. She wasn't lesbian kids weather. But you are right but lesbians are typically not growing Muda Short. But they're not where you would know. They're not wearing their Bermuda shorts to cupboard the garment line. They're just showing their gayness. I'm GONNA start putting duct tape hems under my shorts and freak people out do you do that. We'll be wondering what one with the Lesbian Mormon. Here's the thing is the women garment lines are little harder to detect thick band on them. The mets have more of like a thicker band. I see but you can see it to. It's an entire culture in and of itself garment wearing. You could write a book about the INS and outs of garments ridiculous Ridiculous well thanks. Jeff be for that fool. Pardon yeah appreciate it. I mostly was stumped. You were both sort of on the right track you were you. Were thinking thinking. He's actually smiling. Yeah wasn't they enclosed at all? I was thinking like fake smile for Jesus. I mean we do that too all right. Jesus probably like stop that you're embarrassing. It's all fake kids. I know it. Yeah Fake Jesus. And everybody on their fakeness. Hypocritical as is telling me my religion's fake. Jesus you don't get to tell me than religions fake. Yeah Okay so last week we talked about a new segment. Was It last week? We were talking about Fannie. Check is going to have a new segment when we were but we meant it. Yeah and I- lovingly refer to this as the Triple D. Sorry Guy Fieri or whatever. Your name is This is our own triple d. And let's turn it over to Ben and Intern Fanny fact checker. Self to give you all the INS and outs about you. Got To go through the priesthood. I.

"Ex mormon gay girls just trying to figure out her la- Mary Shelley's looking at me. Like are you gonNA say your name uncomfortable? Pause we've got an all completely comfortable. We're doing the entire pause. Thought you were just maybe forgetting those. Just take all breathe just resting. We are seventy three. At this point episodes in not including letters episodes. So yeah you just know break. This need to pause back and reflect on everything speaking reflecting who could segue Do that accidents segue. Yeah we'RE GONNA look back on Mother's Day. Oh Yeah let's let's reflect. I know a lot of people hated their mothers day and rightfully so a lot of people who have either strange mothers crappy mothers no mothers or people MOMS actual mothers have the strangely ships their kids. Anyway it can just really suck can and some people enjoy mother's Day and it's Campbell sides. Oh I WANNA give a shout out to the mothers who used to be fathers. Yes right now. This is your moment your moment yup and that could be a strained relationship potentially with your children and our heart goes out to you. Yes we say you we appreciate you. Yes absolutely we are inclusive. Here we do our very very best to be. We try try. Let us know if we are leaving anyone out. We certainly did not want to do that. correct all right. Let's hear about your mother's Day so my mother's Day actually turned out really good really good and I know everyone is worried about me Because you know the last couple of episodes I've been talking about the situation with my son Gab. Mun about how he's upset about life generally and then I'm to blame and you know I I feel I understand very angry right now and so i. I decided to throw a mother's Day Barbecue for myself at my new house with Mary. Where my new house was shelley. Okay let's let's sidetrack this. Listen up people. If you're talking to someone like let's say on talking to Brent Okay my ex and I'm like so I was going to have the kids over. I'm going to have a barbecue or when you say kids come over to my place. That's different when you're with your kids and I'm not around. If I was right there you might say. Hey kids come over to our place. But if I'm not there you'd probably say hey kids were coming over to my place if we're on a podcast and I'm sitting across from you and we're talking to our audience but I'm talking about my mother's Day celebration. That's my head house. Our House I okay said. I decided to throw a mother's Day Barbecue for myself. Yes our houses what I should said right. Gotcha I lived there you just when I get in the mode of saying my me my wanted anyway back to the story love you baby are of course two houses at our house in the middle of the street house. Everyone else thought that right. Everyone else is your hand. Yeah Anyway back to my barbecue at our house story. Guess who did the barbecuing you did rushed yet? So did you enjoy your barbecue at our house when I barbecued. This is part of it. You Guys Deco just go with. It was my idea to have the barbecue barbecue to have my kids over my mother. They are your kid. And I purchased the hotdogs. Oh my purchased the beef previous occasion. This is insane and I made the Patty ridiculous conversation as I moved the Barbecue Grill to the appropriate place but yes Mary you cook them. Okay we can all agree. It was our cookout first of all who says barbecue unless you're making actual barbecue. That's because you're from the south. I'm not from this barbecue. Not FROM THE SOUTH ATLANTA. I mean a lived there but I live there all of your barbecue. I say cookout really there in.

"Yeah the second part of that Shelly. Luther Salon owner case was the male judge essentially telling the female to apologize apologize to the community policies. Him and if you didn't apologize if you do apologize a fifty bucks go home. If you don't apologize I'm GONNA incarcerates Yo first off. Were on a pretty slippery slope here where judges are explaining. Here's what I need you to do. You need to go round that. Flagpole twice and say Ollie Ollie Oxen free. Or I'm I'm GonNa put you in a cage. Well I will. The judge will remain nameless. And I just I mentioned Greg Anderson Battle and I think I've told this story publicly so it doesn't violate attorney client privilege and I think he gave me permission at one point that I can tell this story as he was being. We kept when Greg was going into custody. you know. He wouldn't testify against Barry Bonds and he would be in custody than we go to the ninth circuit. They'd reverse it. We come down. He'd get out then he'd have to go back in again but we did this. I don't know it seemed like three or four times and I remember the last time and the judge says you know. Look down in a very avuncular fashion. It's Mr Vargas. Does your client have anything to say. I don't WANNA put him back in custody again. You know. All he's got to do is go in front of the grand jury and testify truthfully in front of Mr Bondsman. Great used to say this isn't about Barry Bonds. This is about the prosecutors trying to get me to say something. That's not true and I. It's a perjury trap. Kind of leads into next week's flint. And so I said I greg. Do you have anything to say to his honor and Greg Turns Immune says yet tom to suck my Dick. So now your honor. We walked but it was almost like yes. Your honor I you know if you recite the in Canton and therefore you will be you know you will be absolved of your sin and you can go on your way. That should not be by the way and it's frustrating and I've told you before in certain cases where judges do this. You want to just my inclination is I want to take a newsy. Go in and break my client out of custody. They judge. You should not be doing this. I just signed a judicial. You're not supposed to be kind of this. You got to get you to acknowledge something. It's part of what it was so frustrating about parole hearings for instance where you have to express remorse. Well what about the clothes? The person who served his time but contested his guilt. No you gotTA recite. I gotTA indoctrinate you to come to my viewpoint. And you've got to recite these incantations. That may or may not be true. But you gotta fake it as a lay person. I and I WANNA be consistent. I do like it when the judge catches the kid who's a perpetual shoplifter and he has to wear a sign front of the Quigley's store liquor store that he got caught stealing from her fifth time that I am a thief. And so I'd be a hypocrite if I said just go ahead and look at your sentencing guidelines and apply to the kid. I like it when they do that kind of stuff. You like the public shaming because you believe as is do. I haven't gone through the system for almost four decades. The Michael Richards mentality. Which is you've used many a time. There is something that is worse than a traditional punishment and that's the collateral damage of public shaming. Well as I got into it famously. With Gloria allred. Don't you think Michael Richard Richards would like to have spent the weekend in lockup and then cut a check for two hundred thousand dollars and and have this in his rear view mirror versus the were going on year fourteen of him to being a pariah and when he dies. This'll be the first thing on the. Oh bit well. Look at Martha Stewart. Who famously went to jail for? Insider trading dinnertime lab one point. She just said I'm not doing the appeals anymore. I'm just doing my time. Like a bad ass. Ryan came out and has flourished Roberson because she she went through the public shaming but then decided okay. I'M GONNA lean into this and she did lean into it so the judge in that case where he was saying. You need to apologize to the community and you need to admit you done wrong and then if you do then I'll let you go but if you don't then I won't then I'm GonNa lock you up first things first. It feels to me like there needs to be a consequence for ignoring a state demand. Meaning the state says. Hey there's riots and the curfews ten o'clock everyone in by ten and my son's out riding his bike at ten thirty a do. The state should say anyone who's caught doing that has a fine of two hundred and fifty dollars and a possible. Whatever but should the judge be able to say to my son? You gotta go to Devil's island because I feel super strongly about these riots or why. Why is that in his power? Even well the the kind of condemned drum in criminal law and you know originally the judges had discretion to impose a sentence in the federal system for instance prior to nineteen whatever it was eighty something then all the sudden people had the same reaction that you just do. Why is there so much discretion wise guy in Massachusetts getting for the same crime getting something that's different than somebody in Idaho so the sentencing guidelines were born and then what happens then because of the sentencing guidelines prosecutors knew how to manipulate that? Because that's what prosecutors do and they started charging such that it left judges with really no discretion they had to give higher sentences and the prosecutors were gaming the system it all became a game. You know I'll charge your all indict you on money laundering on a case with a with a intended loss of a zillion dollars so the number levels that you're charged with is this high and so the judge has got very little discretion. He's got a sentence you to you know ten times as much time as a judge normally would have so. That's the problem. Human Nature is that it becomes a game so to speak. That's the that's the kind of unintended consequence of trying to do good in the first place so we will get new Amit Sullivan and the next show. We do next week. Show 'cause that's a very interesting is the way we we certainly want to talk about. How in last week Gary did. We did reasonable doubt. Give a coming attraction on this story and if you stay tuned for next week you'll see it. We talked about it last week. Adam do you remember and we said specifically hey not so fast emmett Sullivan. What have we call? I think I called him an independent independent thinker. I said I know this judge from Said GonNa Panel with him. I know this judge from the Ted Stevens. This judge is not going to just say. Oh government you told me Bob Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah and. Now you're telling me this might flynn. You're telling me this and sure enough. We'll talk about it next week. Yeah because he did something that I don't think anyone expected except for Mark. Let's because people well. We'll just tease it for next week. You can give your plugs and then we'll we'll get off. I'll finish by the way you find a couple of tweets. I'm going to Houston This coming week Because how many getting there. I'm flying now. The they do a thing where I think the capacity of the club is about four fifty and probably lead and I think that the rule is about half the half that right right so you get Two hundred and twenty five people in there we do free shows. Well let's see so tell read it. It says God governor newsome says California won't be back to normal until we have a vaccine. Here's the problem. California hasn't been normal for twenty years and it could have said thirty years. This is my favorite one right here. New some just tacked three months onto our sentence for good behaviour. Here's a word. He just did finally some good news for Los Angelenos. Were talking through Plexiglas from arguing with the Nice man at the check cashing place to being refused the bathroom key at the gas station or catching up with family in prison. This is our time to shine so some pretty good material. I noticed you this week. Maybe quarantine suits you thought of that. I don't know but your best material in California are rule is if you play by the rules you get more rules. There's no rules for people who don't follow the rules. That's in a nutshell. What's going on in California's stricter rules for the tax payers that play by the rules and cigarettes and delivered to your room when you're staying in a hotel for free if you do not pay tax exactly by play as always in. We'll file next week as always God forbid that you go to an AA meeting we'll send the LAPD to shut it that folks. It's that it's that chasm the SORTA thread on the sweater of society. Does that make you afraid. We're GONNA push I'm GonNa make you be a little bit vulnerable hair. Why are you afraid? I think people would be disappointed. Not like me as much as frightening too because I need people to like me because I didn't think people liked me for most of my life why it makes me feel valued. Oh you when people like me and why is that important to feel valued because it's a new feeling for me. It's beautiful feeling isn't it. Yeah I feel like people finally value you mean for actually myself who I am not for my pretending to be the best Mormon in the world I think people genuinely like shelley they like who I am And I'm afraid to offend anyone or to make anyone feel like well if they're taking breath and I'm taking a break it might be beneficial for them. Stick Break Nick. Sure sure but I mean when I take me like they're going to be mad anymore I'll show them y'all show them listen. I'm GONNA pull my name out of Patriot. I'm not gonNA listening more and I'm going to UNSUBSCRIBE and I'm gonNA write a bad review and the thing is all those little things I just mentioned in the broad scheme of things. It doesn't really matter but it would hurt my feelings immensely. Why would hurt your feelings? Because I feel like they don't they don't like me like I didn't give enough to have them hang on for when we come back like I didn't do enough right it. We are afraid of being rejected. Yeah because we know when we're rejected we literally in our primal brain. We know that when we're rejected acted we run the risk of dying of death It's a primal fear. We need to be included. We need to be loved. Yup We please others so that they will love us so that we won't die well. Yeah that's true because we have this primal need to be part part of something which we carry it our brains because we have a lizard brain inside our skull. Yeah it's the The humidity they'd have a tribe. That would yes. That's right the first one to get picked off by the jackals or what exactly sabertooth tiger. Okay well you know. Technically marry The T-REX existence sixty nine. That was shelley's those little arms. I don't think they could grab oh toy story. I love it but literally. Our LIMBIC system are lizard. Brain is desperate for us to stay alive. It's only job was to make sure we're safe and when it senses a threat when it sees that we might not be safe when it sees that we might be kicked out of the tribe or other group when it sees. He's that we really run the risk of dying. It does everything it can to make sure we are doing all the things so that we're liked and loved and appreciated and needed needed so there will be included so that we won't die. Yeah we set ourselves on fire to keep other people warm because we don't want want to die you're not GonNa Die Shelly. Dia Slow Lonely and that may be true but that's everyone everyone who loves and adores. That's my point. Yes yes yes. So how do we go about. Since this will likely be our last episode of the year. I got so nervous when I said that like breathing seriously. This is having when you breathe because I know that was traumatic for you that was fearful free to say that so. What I'm trying to do is calm you right now? Breathing through knows right now. Pause the rebound Kimberly tell listeners whites okay for us to do this. I need you to validate well. Okay dear listeners. We Love you we love you dear listeners. We Adore you. And you know why I know that because I'm one of you it's true. We rely on Marian. Shelly rely on the community. The group that we've built through them. Uh We rely on this community to share each other's pain by the way that has a name. It's called trauma bonding. Oh it's a really important thing that we do. We bond over our trauma we bond with people who know what we've been through we rely on. You is for this really beautiful community however we also want to recognize your humanity. We want to recognize that. You are burning the candles on forty-seven ends and then it might be beneficial. You might find it beneficial to slow down a little bit. So if eighty five percent is a good healthy target currently are you got ninety percent. Are you at ninety five percent. Are you at one hundred fifteen percent. It's it's up there. It's up there. Were at the percent. Where if something like a small thing goes wrong if our editor is going to take an extra day to get something out or if I'm sick and can't record the next stay? There's almost full blown panic and depression. And like I work. Also now. I've got to get his own merits. Real snappy I snapped at you in Phoenix. That's trauma response. Yeah does trauma response. And if it continues you'll start to resent the podcast. If it continues you start to have contempt for listeners. We don't want that and you burn out and you'll quit doing this. You'll and you'll be mad that you ever started at all so you're kind of in this really precarious point. Where if if you continue at the rate you're going you will crash and burn? Yeah and your relationship will suffer and the relationship with your kids will suffer and the relationship with your players will suffer all true. Yeah all right listeners. So no arguing with Kimberly Anderson shows. Shit I'm writing these guys. A note to prescriptions prescriptions. And your prescription slow to fuck down and drink for beer okay. I can't promote or endorse alcoholism but if you could stop short of that I would promote that. Yeah how about you to say drink more and leave it blank we will fill it in. How about this breathed more? They're UK shrink when appropriate so the. Fuck Down Ella. Get you know what we are going to be using the time wisely not that I'm justifying justifying she's been wanting to do more after show videos. Yes that's true and that's something that I want to do and it would be nice to film them when we're not like ship we've got next hot cast episode out. We don't have time to film home movie nights to have some away from the podcast time to film Some after shows for sure like a lighthearted Christmas Carol Video Oh God yes we get matching Christmas masseuse gas just going to get like two teeny tiny red ribbons and put him on the end of my nipples. Oh Okay Oh uh-huh are you going to spin them like in the graduate. I'll just GONNA do that. That spinney back movement or the BOOB SPIN and the Tassels Albert burn listeners. If you're craving our voices you know we have a podcast by the name of sleepy. Be Shorts feel free to get up close and personal. We sleepy short. Maybe we can record more those during the break that we have a lot of stuff going on. Yeah we did not just about this one podcast. We've other also now pause pause pause. Are we now adding. You're you're taking a break from this so that other shit are you fucking kidding me. Did you lose. Sure record this whole thing overall. How fucking psycho we are?
