"Hi my name is ryan williams and i'm the creator of the concept styles of houston styles. Thousand houston is all about showcasing to the world. How the amazing city of houston dresses when you think of fashion capitals in the world. Do you think of new york los angeles miami. But why can't houston mentioned. Within those realms. I mean houston is one of the largest markets in the country for florida city and we have so many amazing fashionable citizens and so i think the stop houston served a purpose to push houston texas higher in the ranks as a fashion capital. So a lot of times. I find fashionable houstonians through social media. That is the main outlet. Mrs people on also word of mouth. People have message me. So i wanna find somebody. That's very fashionable. A meet up with them somewhere in houston sugar land town centre lawson terrace ranch city centre near memorial downtown montrose places around the city somewhere nice when nice backgrounds. I'm meet up with them. And i proceed to take video clips of the articles of clothing in them destroying the personality as well. Then i'll do a mini photo. Shoot and after that as over. I'll ask two questions. It always varies such as you know. What is your fashion consist of. What fashion meaning you. Who influenced your style questions like that. I have them answered in a voice. Memo and i put an entire collage together makes all of those things video clips. The photo shoots and the voice over and i put it all into video and i think it's or makes us so unique is that it is so you get to hear the actual voice of someone and while i there's houston episode the thing that's been out. The most in the city is so beautiful. It's the fact that when i do these features nobody has to say i mean houston is is literally. I think versus an understatement. It's so diverse. Everybody has such a different style every time on top feature to at least twenty more people in every time they bring something new to the table. And that's what i love about the houston. And that's why i think it's important to not committee. My name is brian williams. I'm creator of the concept spouse of houston and listen to houston matters. We're talking with dwight. Silverman he writes about consumer technology for forbes and just before the break dwight we were I mentioned four k tv. This is something you've been digging into. What is four k tv. Four k simply means four times the resolution of your of the original hdtv It is clear. Crisper technology Provides for much more lifelike colors and brighter. Bright's darker darks. It's it really is it to me. It is as dramatic shift is going from the old picture tube. Tv to the initial hdtv. Wow i however you have to learn a lot. You know to get to get what you want. I wrote a guide to To shopping for one. Based on what i learned in doing this and it went out in my newsletter. This morning you can subscribe it on dot forbes dot com slash dwight and and it is a Writing it was a challenge. Because you know lot of these things are extremely technical. And i was trying to explain it. So that anybody wants to move up from hd two four take and do so easily but it is It's a technical rabbit hole for sure and briefly any any news on the smartphone. Front we ought to know about Well it looks like Apple will introduce The iphone thirteen. Or whatever it's called at on time this year last year it was delayed in talk tober in november and because of the pandemic and issues with closed factories and and supply chain all indications are it will happen on time in september this year as it usually does One interesting thing about the name. Is that apparently there. Some people are actually you know superstitious enough that they might not buy an iphone thirteen. So there's some speculation apple will not name it thirteen. Dwight silverman writes about consumer technology for forbes. Dwight as always thank you for joining us. We appreciate the time or hank you for having me. I love doing crack. Four zero eighty eight seventy or talk at houston matters dot. Org if you'd like to talk with congresswoman there's been a lot of attention congresswoman on the now months-long negotiations over The biden administration's proposed infrastructure. Bill last week. A bipartisan group of senators came up with a package just shy of a trillion dollars over several years for physical infrastructure improvements but narrowly defines infrastructure the president's now seemingly backing off of a broader definition should This bill just be about roads bridges and pipes or should it include a broader definition on things like childcare and elder care. Well first of all thank you again for having me and let me just for one very quick minute. I couldn't help but listening to your program and the potential program coming up about fema. Interestingly enough on a homeland security hearing as we speak with the fema administrator and my question was reimbursement or funding for poor neighborhoods for homes lower income people And fema and my working with them going to be looking at how we revised that Disparity so it does exist and thank you all for putting that program forward. I'll happy to be a resource for you. As relates to the issue of infrastructure. Everyone understands the value of the nuts and bolts. And as i say that let me offer my deepest concern and sympathy for our friends in search side florida. Then that's invokes are dams and bridges and roads and walkways we just had a work Walkway collapsed in washington. Dc the nation's capital And we've seen calamities when we've had the infrastructure collapsed. That is very important but if we look at the landscape of america and we have not had a real investment on newness on the new ideas on on genuity about people innovation for a very very long time. Maybe half a decade. excuse me half a century that we've not had that massive of in invention. We know that in the nineteen fifties. "This is houston matters. I'm craig cohen test releases of windows. Eleven are being this week. The rest of us will have access to the latest generation of microsoft's operating system by the end of the year. it brings with it changes in design function and compatibility but some computers have been running windows. Ten may not be able to handle it when faced with developments in technology particularly consumer tech. We seek the advice of houston area consumer tech journalist dwight silverman from forbes. Dwight good morning. Good morning as we have you with us as we discussed that. And some other tech trends we welcome your questions for dwight silverman about all things tech at seven one. Three four zero eight seventy or talk at houston matters dot org all right. I wait what what is new about windows. Eleven You know some time ago microsoft evangelists and And the company didn't deny added time said windows ten would be the last version of windows and Suddenly earlier this year we got wind that there was actually going to be a new version and they announced it last week. It's it's windows eleven They have kind of modernize the interface. Pretty it up quite a bit. It looks actually like a lot like mac. Os big sur. A lot of the design elements have been borrowed from apple's desktop operating system including moving the start button to the middle of the task bar Lots more transparency rounded corners softer colors and That's kind of the look of it. There are some other features like the ability to take virtual desktops and brew both windows and apps specifically on them and Kind of improving on its staff technology. Let's previously just let you snap windows to the sides of things do. Was there any indication as to why microsoft decided. Now we're going to go ahead and do a whole new operating system. Well not really. I mean i think probably they're looking at the idea that that They need something to drive. sales of. pc's They needed because they did need to. Kind of modernize those ten because it in terms of a look at him if it kind of become dated They also needed to compete with apple and one other way. They have added the ability to run android apps on the desktop. If you remember when apple introduced its new macs with its own chip. The one chip. That was the same kind of chip that used in their phones and ipads You could run now. Iphone ipad apps on max and so this is kind of a response to that a lot of windows. Eleven seems to be a response to kind of what apple is doing among the changes. The redesigned windows store will include the amazon app. Store is the significant. Well that's the android part Amazon has its own app store specifically for its fire tablets They don't use. Google play store which is kind of the general overall android apps source. They have their own one of the issues with this is that it doesn't have everything fits in the android. Google play store. It's a fraction of of caps Soft has said they will allow what's called side loading where you bring in android apps from outside a store and that will help but that also opens things up to a malicious apps which android has a problem with microsoft and apple have been in competition for so many years. I wonder could we ever see a day when a microsoft operating system like windows is fully compatible with apple's smartphones and vice versa. Apple's mac operating system would be fully compatible with android phones probably not because particularly mainly because of the way apple works apple is building a walled garden. Ecosystems so that Iphones and macs work together. Well and Even their tv's Platform tv os on the apple. Tv four k even that interacts with everything else. So there they they want to keep things within the family so to speak and while you can do things you can connect an android phone to a mac can kind of see the files and so forth in there it's it's pretty rudimentary and i don't think it'll be a cold day in hell before i think you see android fully integrate with the match back to windows eleven. We will folks with windows. Ten automatically get upgraded will be one of those automatic updates and boom. It's there so this has been a matter of much consternation announcement One of that microsoft has updated and made more stringent the hardware requirements. A lot of the older machines that are now running windows. Ten cannot run windows. Eleven one of the biggest issues is a component. Call t pm two point. Oh chip and this is a process. Or sometimes it's just software emulating processor that has to do with security and Microsoft is requiring this for windows however over the weekend there were some documents that surfaced on microsoft's website that said. Oh no wait. It doesn't need to be Two point oh it can be one version one point two and then there were some other documents that said in some circumstances. You don't need it at all and people freaked out. Microsoft rewrote the documents and pulled an app that it had talked about during its announcement that check to see if your pc is compatible. They if they call it caused so many problems And getting so much bad information that they yanked it and so it's been kind of really kind of i think to use this word but it's true it was kind of a botched rollout of this not just in in those terms but also i understand just in terms of announcing windows eleven. The even had problems in in that initial announcement right. Yes yes they doing a livestream and it's similar to the way apple does it. Does its announcements and google as well and it just it died in a for a lot of platforms. They had a special platform just set up for analysts and press to watch And it died. I then they said go to twitter and it died on twitter. The one that stayed up the best. I think it was youtube. Google product and And then i think they also had like a mainstream app just for fans to watch And data and that did okay but for the most part if it really choked so is there at the moment any way for somebody who owns a computer with a windows ten operating system on it to know if their computer will be able to handle windows. Eleven when it comes well. Microsoft does have a set of hardware clark and you can find that on on microsoft's site and a lot of the stories including mine on forbes that that wrote about it you could see what they are but It's difficult to tell because first of all they have cold this. Pc it's called the pc health check out. They've pulled that It seems to be something of a moving target. microsoft isn't being specific about what processes We'll run it. They don't have that firm list out yet. So it's kind of up in the air if you are interested though in trying and you're in you're brave There's a thing in windows. Ten call the insider bills And you can find this in the settings and you essentially say okay. I'll try unfinished.

"Friday marks eighty four years since pioneering aviator amelia earhart and her navigator disappeared over the pacific ocean while attempting to circumnavigate the globe. Earhart had already said a number of aviation records and broken barriers for women in flight. Still it would be decades before female pilots became common in commercial aviation a houston area. Woman was instrumental in changing that lynn. Ripple meyer of magnolia was the first woman to pilot a boeing seven. Forty seven and the first to captain seven forty seven transatlantic flight. back in the late nineteen seventies. She worked as a pilot for a small commuter airline that had a rule. That's kind of hard to imagine. Now that two female pilots could never be alone on a flight. You always had to have a male crew member that is until fate and some bad weather stepped in in two thousand nineteen ripple. Meyer told houston matters. Michael hagerty the whole story including how her aviation career didn't start in the cockpit but in the main cabin well as a flight attendant and usually the most junior flight attendant. I ended up working where nobody else wanted to which was taking care of the cockpit bringing them their food and drink during the flight and it was beautiful up there. I loved being up in the cockpit for the view You get to see the world. From five miles up it's gorgeous coastlines in the cloud formations and sunrises and sunsets so anyway it was worth being up there. And i'd ask questions about what was going on about the navigation and all the different instruments and dials and switches to make conversation and they explained it and it was fascinating to me and then finally one brought me a private pilot. Handbook to answer more questions right. Yeah arrayed this kid. So i was interested and But there weren't any female pilots said it wasn't something i was really aspiring to and then Just the universe handed to me. I guess i met some people That were instructors up in vermont They had a little piper cub on floats so they i spent the summer taking flying lessons. So you say there weren't any female pilots really at that time. What did you think you might do with this knowledge. Just enjoying it. Just keep going yup. That's all it was just a hobby inexpensive one if i kept it up Well but i just thought that was it. We had to take the plane out of the water because the lake froze over. But then i met a gentleman on one of my flights that said if i wanted to keep flying Miami had an airport during the winter on land. And i could finish up my licenses down there so i went down and checked it out and i started using all my time off and paychecks to get the of my licenses between my flights and that was it. You know between flight attendant in that. I thought that was about as good as it got. And as i was happy with it told me how you ended up then going here from from the flying at that level to then flying for airlines well like i said up until that point. I didn't think it was even an option to pursuing it. But then i heard that american frontier had both hired women pilots So i was able to get in touch with them and say you really is true because In all the guys that. I fly with tell me that impossible women. Just don't have what it takes you know you're only five foot two. You don't have the strength of mental capacity the emotional ability the psychological all the things that it takes to be a cool pilot. So are you really making it. And they say yeah. That's no you you will definitely be able to be a pilot in the main things the lifestyle and you're used to it as being a flight attendant so just get the requirements the requirements for a college education which i had and a flight engineer written which i was able to take but she needed thousand hours of jet time and fifteen hundred dollars a total and i had no idea how could get jet time. The guy scott. We're we're going to the guy's got it out of the military and the military wasn't training women to fly jets so was just kinda wondering and then yeah. That's wandering through the saint louis. Airport and on twenty four layover and my sister lives in carbondale which is just south from there and there was a little kiosk that said airline annoy carbondale fifteen minutes taking a flight so the pilots were standing there at the counter and i said could i hitch a ride down there because usually the airlines will give reciprocal agreements and let other employees ride. I was in my uniform. And i said no. No we can't. They are owner. Doesn't let us do that. The only reason we can give somebody a free ride if you're going in for an interview. Okay i'll interview. We don't need anymore flight attendants than the other guy says. Yeah we always shared on pilots. Okay i'll interview is a pilot. They thought i was joking but So no really. I've got seven hundred dollars given instruction and flange and they said well. That's more than we when we got hired i the time. Yeah so they picked up bags and went out to this. Airplane was twin otter to fifteen passenger turboprop Fix gear. put me in the front seat. So that I could put on headsets and we could talk. Offer the flight down to carbon. They wanted to know about twa because they were interested in applying to be pilots. Where i was working they wanted to move up to share lung. You worked for. That's what it was all about. Yeah and then talking. I found out that that airplane was a turbo prop which meant it was a jet engine with the propeller on it and accounted for jet time. So that's how they were getting their jet time so after we got carbonnel's waiting for my sister i asked to have an application so i could fill it out too so they wouldn't be in trouble for let me come down for an interview and ladies kind of said you know we don't really need any more flight attendants i said no. I'm applying to be pilot. really anna. She goes in the back and brings out the owner of the airline and Big burly guy with a grey flattop carrying a coffee mug with little red pigs on the set. Mcp male chauvinist pig. He was very proud of and just thought it was hilarious. And let everybody in the triple novus hilarious. So i was embarrassed but they visited my sister and they gave me a ticket to get back to saint. Louis i thought that was the end of it and then about a month later. This lady at the counter jennifer calls and says we need. We've got a training class for you. Can you be here in two weeks. There's no way that guy wants women At his airline should know really. It's a class for you and another lady named emily jones. She's being trained as a captain. Use a first officer so let me know if you can be here. I said yeah. I'll i'll be there. You didn't ask about salary. Didn't ask about anything else. This was just amazing and so we were in class with. Emily was just the two of us. It was months later before we found out. We thought the reason we got hired was the owner wanted a government loan to get new airplanes and eeoc equal opportunity commission had gone into effect and he would probably have a better chance at doing that if he had minorities. And that's what we were so we were both hired but at the end of the training Week he came in and said okay. You to hired. You're gonna be treated just like everybody else. However you know you can't fly together. We his airlines his. There was no recourse. At that time. You could argue his policy you to two women that were from could never fly together alone right because you have to have a man up there in case anything wrong and we don't wanna scare passengers away to we so we just okay you know. We were just glad to have the job. So for three months We never flew together only twenty pilots there only three planes subs probably scheduling hassle but You know we've just there's just a job we just went to work and enjoyed it so then freed kind of aligns to get you both together you and emily in the cockpit. What happened that day. In was december thirtieth nineteen seventy seven right dark and stormy afternoon. good.

Texas state Senate advances controversial voting bill

"Meanwhile, later today, Mayor Turner will join Houston Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee to discuss a Republican led effort to pass new voting laws. Critics say laws proposed in Texas as well as in Arizona and other states will limit access to voting and disproportionately hurt already marginalized communities. Last week, the Texas Senate passed a bill that would limit extended voting hours. Prohibit drive through voting and make it illegal for local election officials to proactively send applications to vote by mail. Even if the voter qualifies. Turner and Jackson Lee are slated to speak at three o'clock this afternoon, will have their comments this afternoon on all things

DOJ Inspector General Investigating Federal Agents' Actions In Portland And Washington, D.C.

"Should the feds be able to take action? To protect federal property. Should the president be able to send federal agents to protect federal property in cities like Portland, Oregon, For instance, or other places Absolutely 100%. The president should be able to use federal forces. Ah law enforcement to protect the assets of the United States of America. There is, though, that about it. Late Last week we had the inspector general for the DOJ announced that its office had opened up an investigation into the use of force by federal law enforcement agents against the protesters, some of them peaceful. Many not in Portland in Washington, D. C and the probe was launched in response to a referral from the US attorney general in Oregon, Billy Williams. Each side came to the hearing. Armed with an agenda. There's no doubt about it. The others, obviously a big problem When Sheila Jackson Lee loves George Floyd with the and puts George Floyd in the same boat is Michael Brown, That is ridiculous. It is inaccurate. Nadler and ranking member Doug Collins got into it yesterday. Nadler. sparred with college of the appointment of a Republican staff member to question in Taos ski for up to thirty minutes a role that the represent of Collins wanted to do himself now here's the deal. the Democrats simply said all right we were not going to have the Republicans actually ask questions. we will designate a staff member and the closest wait a minute where do you get off telling us how we're going to question a witness you are not staff you remember and just as we are not committing any member the majority hi minute rule. we will not I'm not going to permit it a half an hour now for minority members beyond what they had under the five minute rule if you have a staff member your designated that's what it or her that's what the rules call for and it's not religion I wish that you would actually designated a staff member that would've been nice but Mr when you're really right now with everything rolling cameras rolling you're going to the not a member of Congress the ranking member of this committee. this time yeah. advance wars yes. this is not going to allow the ranking member which is the most senior of the minority party. the opportunity to ask further questions of course or does he. it went on after that. chairman after deliberation and looking at this I can not go along with the chairman chairman the majority sham in this hearing and designating staff member we have not said all along this is not an impeachment inquiry this is not something should happen to start with I refused to go along with this year Germans should impeachment process so we're at this one. so we're not going to designate will continue to litigate this on other fronts for Mister chairman Jerry well shame of this committee today yeah so you never said no I can sit here in the suit the used to fit me back when I weighed about a hundred fifty pounds more than a way now. there's another they will find a good tailor and we're going to do this my way. and that led to a rather heated exchange between a very Burke who is so one of Lubelski is attorneys and members of the house Judiciary Committee including Mister Naylor himself Mister chairman as you know I'm counsel for Mr Lewin Gascony about thirty seconds to read not give formal protest you are not you are not a witness and you should not be see that that table I understand that I'm going to leave as it is I can register this ritual protest based upon the debate that I've just heard these seem to be on authorized question and I have and I will you choose your. will and I will leave it to Mr Lewin doubt you decide but it is my view gentry not a line of water we're not interested in your views are we have a hearing to conduct we are the gentleman's point is is a legal counsel are you having a hearing to condone affordably Mississippi state a little rougher asking of water will answer all questions if he has a legitimate privilege to serve you may of course the circle Jimmy privilege that's one of the more sane moments from yesterday by the way. it was drama drama drama. okay guys think with this way it's it's like the way the woman you go on a date with because somebody said oh she's really nice and you'll like her. and by the time you get through the appetizers she's regaled you with all the stories of all the guys she used to date and how horrible they were. and then she is just about as the steak is arriving to go into exactly why her parents are the worst people in the world. there's a point at which is just too much drama. I'm I'm at that point with these guys another draw already. you're being paid you know a fair bit of money. six figures low six figures just in order to do a job. perhaps you might think about doing it. and that doesn't count the ones who are currently out campaigning for the presidency who've not showed up for work in quite some time. I would ask you over and over here by the way frustrated the Democrats over the course of the hearing asserting executive privilege for certain matters despite not having worked in the White House but the president had asked him to not testify on those issues. and and also said I know it is not my privileged was circling in a I'm going to respect the president's wishes and he has asked me to not comment on that so I'm not going to comment on that. his attorney Burke. in the windows key. went on. more about how Lewin dusky should have the opportunity actually to answer the questions as she was there were there were actually being asked by the majority members did you lie Sir in television interviews denying that you've been asked to give answers to the special counsel I don't believe so so you deny that you ever lied in public statements about whether you were and what I'm saying is. when under oath I've always told the truth whether it's before special counsel whether it was before the house Judiciary Committee was before the house intelligence committee on two separate occasions well before the Senate intelligence committee every time I raised my right hand to god I've sworn told the truth that's it. every single time. "I told you that Sheila jackson-lee is leading the charge in a congressional hearing over reparations. This idea that we're somehow going to pay black people. And punish white people, which is so incredibly destructive to race relations in this country. But that's what we're here to do. We're here to tell white people that they're devils, the way Maxine Waters declared at a democrat event for the California Democrat party, a few years ago. We're here to explore and celebrate black racism against whites. So Sheila jackson-lee. At the reparations hearing had the following to say, go ahead. Thirty one percent of black children. Live in poverty compared to eleven percent of white children. The national average is eighteen percent was suggested the percentage of black children living in poverty is more than one hundred and fifty percent. That's all. More than one hundred and fifty percent. That's. More than one hundred fifty percent of black children living in, I'll Yvette alone. So. But I want to move to another issue. The reparations hearing is an opportunity to get Danny Glover because he's a movie star to come down before congress and talk about how black people need to get paid. And since we remember him from a lot of movies, then he must know a lot about how to solve the problems in our society. So this is what congress is spending their time on now. I don't know if this is related or not. But Sheila jackson-lee as leading the reparations charge and her staffer was just sentenced to four years in prison. For doc thing Republican senators during the break Cavanaugh hearings that is giving out their home phone numbers, their addresses, exposing their families to grave danger trying to give out their medical records. These are all very serious crimes. This is information her staffer came by while working for the federal government in her office, where he has access to this. This is Hillary Clinton level stuff. You know, releasing federal secrets that could cause someone a great deal of pain. It could allow one of these nuts, like the guy who shot up the softball field almost killing Steve Scalise. It could allow one of those nuts to be able to get to these people and bring great harm to them, but that's not why I tell you this story. That guy was sentenced. Jackson Cosco was sentenced to four years in prison for what he did. But I'm going to read to you the article by the Washington Post where they forgot to tell you that he was working for Sheila jackson-lee while this happened. I wonder if maybe it wouldn't look good. If you saw the same day that Sheila jackson-lee claiming one hundred and fifty percent of black kids are in poverty. And that her staff member was being sent off to prison that might hurt the reparations case and the reparations case is how we're going to get black voters to show up and vote for the white democrat who's going to be the nominee next year. So listen, carefully and notice that Sheila jackson-lee name is never mentioned in this headline ex Senate staffer sentenced to four years for dachshund, GOP, senators in cavenaugh confirmation fight a US judge on Wednesday sentenced two, former Democrats Senate staff member to four years in prison. Wait a minute. He's a former democrat staff member from six months before he did what he did which was the crime the point at which he committed the crime. He was a democrat congressional staffer for Sheila jackson-lee, and they don't want you to know that a judge on Wednesday sentenced. "Radio twelve hundred. W O A. I heard on over two thousand of ISIS just say something like this Alexa, play NewsRadio twelve hundred w away. I on iheartradio. Hi, welcome back. Great to have you on the feed at work. Okay. What's he grabs on bites nineteen Twenty-three Quinton knock these out and then after we'll get back to the to the phones, we're going to start here with the her imminence Sheila jackson-lee talk about intelligence. She possesses a rare intelligence, and she's one of the guiding lights of the of the democrat caucus in the house of representatives. You know the story they were Susan Houston. Suburb was over at NASA. And they had the video shut from the Mars Rover and it was a little long service. Scooping up stuff analyzing it, sending it back to NASA. What it was escape to live there. When climate change wipe us out. And she asked them if the Rover would then go over to where the astronauts planted the flag. All this is televised. And the NASA officials. Congresswoman that. The flex the moon. Armstrong. Marsha? Yes, yes. Of course, of course she's the. That don't don't be silly. I don't insult me. I knew that. So she's whatever she speaks we stop. And listen to rare moment, and so this morning during the reparations, slavery, slavery, reparations hearing. Sheila Jackson Lee. Explained her logic. Verifying or requiring or, or supporting the idea that we need slavery reparations thirty one percent of black children live in poverty compared to eleven percent, white children, the national average is eighteen percent suggests that rescinded the black children living in poverty is more than one hundred and fifty percent institution flavoring, and subsequent discrimination directed against blacks is an injustice. It must be formally acknowledging addressed. I just simply asked why not? And why not now if not all of us, then who got blesses, as we pursue the final Justice for those who lived in slavery for two hundred and fifty years in the United States of America. Well, it's kind of late for them congresswoman. I guess. You're going to take their money and claim that it's there's you're gonna do the right thing like doing everybody else's money. You're going to get a bunch of money appropriated for them. I mean you've never lived in slavery, less, you wanna claim that life in America today for Democrats or African Americans or caves lesbians transgenders in the bathroom confused. If flavor. But how about this justification? The national average suggest the percentage of black children living in poverty is more than one hundred fifty percent. So. How many people become twice here in order to just add how many of them are slaves, and then she said, here, God was we pursue the final Justice. We must be formally acknowledged addressed. Have we not have we not knowledge that we not addressed five hundred thousand people lost their lives? Civil war to stop this. There have been more programs featuring federal money than you can cut this. This is my argument. These people have voted democrat by entire life. They voted democrat to fix all these things, and notice they never get fixed the anger ever does anything, but ratchet up. You talk about fail performance. Okay. So that was Sheila jackson-lee. Now it's time for the star witness. They slavery reparations hearing, and in this the playbook never changes Danny Glover. You know why he's an expert because I no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He wasn't a slave, of course not. But a cab, wouldn't stop and pick him up on the streets of Manhattan. Some don't tell you forgot that. Oh, yeah. Danny Glover's out there, forty second street to no wonder why. And when hailing a cab the cabin stop, Danny Glover gets in rage calls. Mel Gibson says we need to press conference on this cabdriver was not ever gonna American obviously scared of me, racism, this city sucks and a major cost celeb- was a what was born. And that's why he's been brought in his witness. Close ties with your job is I mean, that's Hugo Chavez, slavery. To us. He might have been not to these people Hugo Chavez, freed the slaves to live in poverty. Which is the natural state of things. So here are the opening remarks of actor and activist and the famously discriminated against the New York, Texas, Kevin movement, Danny Glover and a portion of his opening remarks, I am deeply on the today awfully, my testimony of this historic meeting about the recognition of a crime against humanity. That is foundational to development among Crecy material being in this country. A national reparations policy is moral democratic and economic imperative. This hearing is yet another important step in the long hit ROY struggle of African Americans secure reparations for the damages inflicted by the slave mint and emancipation, and racial exclusionary policies. So the star witness was a wealthy famous actor who had won six -perienced the discrimination of slavery, by witnessing a cab driver refused to stop for him. On the streets of Manhattan. What do you mean? We'll come out. Harris's dad have to pay you. Did you? Well, that was I know Kamala Harris fam- in Jamaica. They had slaves. That's Kamala Harris, his dad. His family was trading slaves in Jamaica. Kamala, Harris says. Yeah, that's right. I do remember reading this data's mama, slave trade. And Jamaican doesn't count, as African American citizens exemption. You see totally, but this technique is technique, and bringing actors Danny Glover has starred in many roles as an African American discriminated against gives him instant credibility with left. This is not new. Let's go back may six nine hundred eighty five thousand Democrats caucus head little task force here trying to get what they wanted in the farm Bill now his nineteen eighty five so we're going back forty plus years. The witnesses for this stellar democrat hearing on the farm, Bill. We're actresses Jessica Lang. Sissi space and Jane funded and you know why because they had played farm women in the dust bowl era in Kansas. Goofy. And because they had starred in a movie about dust bowl, poverty, and the ravages of drought on the farming because they had started a movie about the they were experts in drought and agriculture. Here is a portion of remarks by well known farmer wife agriculture and drought expert. Jessica Lang, we are witnessing in this decade is the systematic destruction of much of rural society. And in those states, the so-called farm states when the family goes down the entire state goes down the heartland of America is being vacated, and I know this one thing they are in pain, and it is heartbreaking to witness their anguish as they watch their lives stripped away as they watch their boundaries. Disappearing. Founder describe their work now. Do we land their family and faith in this country and their faith in God, what these people are living in a kind of modern day slavery? And there you have it. Now the democrat party today, mocks and makes fun of farmers. They mock and make fun of rural America. They laugh at them. They talk about dumb and stupid. They are that they chew and spit tobacco the missing their front teeth. They drive around the pickup trucks with gun racks, in the back with a couple of shotguns. They're, they're the first show up at church on Saturday night to make sure they get the pew that they want to sit in this, who they are. They may as well be deliverance movie. And then and then they actually had to praise these people for believing in God can't do that today. As a modern day, leftist, or democrat. But Jessica Lang because she had portrayed circumstances that movie was the star witness up next Sissy space. I'd be naive to assume that this is a simple problem with simple answers. But one thing I'm sure we can't turn our backs on these people who have fed us so abundantly. And so cheaply throughout our history, your believe this, it wasn't that long ago or Democrats claim to love the farmers claimed a love the Rury types of American now that they vote for Trump. It's let them starve. We don't care. The fact they believe in God means they're gigantic threat, last, and least Jane Fonda, not since the grapes of wrath. Have we seen so much attention? But actors and filmmakers, paid to the plight of the family farm, until today, art and movies with flex reality. But they also shed light on it, and having made these films, the doll maker the river country places in the heart. We have a natural desire to express our concern for those farmers in the real world.

"They w with us. Hi, mark. Thanks for taking my call. I wanted to respond to what you're saying about the trend of democracy. And democratic government is going where I see it's going is that political parties need to be recognized as political religions. So we have a truce we agree to keep these out of government. And what I've been pushing for a democrat, but I'm a cost to, to I I've been pushing my own party, you start putting healthcare doing it yourself as your own benefits like the Catholic church, producers don't programs and does not affect public policy. The Democratic Party could do the same with that belief about right to healthcare in Saint sex marriage. All that could be a separate group and not have to depend on government. So that's what I've been timing for as a cost to enlist. To stop discriminating by Cree by pushing beliefs of government, that I believe are unconstitutional to do. And then you mentioned public housing and the beta problems. I wanna I'm from a district Sheila jackson-lee district that had a campus plan. We passed a law to reform public housing, as a sustainable campus. And I've been proposing to replicate this model along the border, so people who want to fund schools, and healthcare, you can do so with your taxes and let other people in the military, so we can we separate our taxes, like we do with religion and allow people to fund their own and quit trying to dominate government with us. So if you go to earn the amnesty dot no, no, no, no, no. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. I don't quite to grasp that today on this, but the first line was actually quite good, because the idea that in a in a secular age politics becomes a religion and the police. Ical actually in historic times. It's quite good. It makes a lotta sense to look at political differences, in the same way that religious schisms were back in the back in medieval times, to say it's the same kind of thing. And in fact, in the absence of religion politics, so climate change. Whatever does become your religion. I tell you. Well, let's go to Mary in Mansfield Ohio, because we don't we don't. Emily with maybe a nice lady, but don't come on here, and, and do a URL because people pay to advertise on this show. That's what's the number one show and and, and said, let's go to Mary, and Mansfield, Ohio. I was in that beautiful theater that cloud abo-. The it's go played go to beautiful thea today's famous, I think Mansfield Mary, correct me if I'm wrong, it's full, the, the, the, the big movie with Morgan Freeman, The Shawshank Redemption was. But, but, but what I like about it. I played that lovely theater, you have downtown where Clara bow the it's go played in the nineteen twenties. And as the it's boy I was meant to play a couple years back, Barry. I forgot what I'm talking about that. What's, what's do you by Barry lovely child, though? I had a great time that it is a beautiful time. That was the renaissance cedar that, yes. Absolutely. You made a comment about how the activities that the democrat party is attempting to do right now was attempting, and they were attempting to swarthy will of the people, but I believe the democrat he what they're doing as encouraging. I believe that the Democrats see the twenty sixteen election as the will of the people because it was based on electoral college and not on the popular vote, though. I think that the democrat believe that they are standing up for the will of the people. Well, you don't know the thing about that. They say that, and the reason and the reason they say that is because they fail that if it had been on the popular vote numbers of two thousand sixteen Hillary would be president. But we don't know that if they wasn't for example, right now, you have very high, ton out in small states that have prominent in the electoral college, like New Hampshire, for example, has a high on out because it's perceived to Matt and because people camped out there for a year before the election at the same time in big states like California, New York. A lot of Republicans, then Bo the voting because there's no point you vote. Wasted. It's a big waste of time. Nobody actually knows how if you had saying, Austrailian system where everybody has to vote. Nobody actually nobody actually knows how popular transgender rights all all publicly funded abortion, all these other things would be if actually one hundred percent of people voted. So I think Mary, I take your point. But I think Mary, if you had a popular vote, the Democrats who assuming a lot to think that they present a positions where they won't single payer healthcare, where they want boys to be able to walk into Gaul school showers where they think that cauliflowers in community gardens colonialist, and racist. I'm not sure that fifty one percent of a straight up vote is going. We go in for that, Mary. I hope not. I hope you're right. Well, I hope so too. And thank you very to be that. What was it again? The renaissance in Mansfield. Yes. Right. Right. The renaissance theatre in Mansfield, and I'm sorry that I Bob things because I was very nervous. No, no. You don't. You don't need to be nervous. I was completely nervous when I was on stage at the renaissance I bombed that night, it was a disaster that you could really stunk up the joint of his terribly flawed. But you don't want to be worried about being notice. Mary, everyone is nervous once in a while. That's actually an interesting point. That's the other thing, by the way. It's not just that I with respect Mary, I think this actually does support my theory that we're moving to how have you wanna put it? I would put it. I would put it in the context of the rest of the west is a post democratic order in America, you might want to call it a post constitutional order. But what I'm saying is that the systems that have basically been accepted, for a couple of centuries now, the elite sustain no, no, no, those systems if they produce results, we do not like a 'illegitimate'. And so in that sense the attack.

"But those were their heads. The big boys. So you like big boy less. There were a lot of white people going out of their way to say how much they like big would seem the little bit too much seemed like they were trying too hard because I didn't see anything. He did that was that great other than that coat. Huggy bear coat with something. Now, can we wear can we wear animals again? You know? I noticed it a number of people. Commenting that the Super Bowl wasn't fun. And I don't think they knew it wasn't fun. They just knew it wasn't fun. And Popo on the Super Bowl has become its own activity. Right. You know, I'm really enjoying this. This is a delightful Super Bowl with all sorts of entertainment presented for my enjoyment. I don't I don't think. That's that's not the cool thing to do. But I think what people don't realize I it's hard to capture. And quite quantify. But I think what's happened is what what we're witnessing is the death of enjoyment. The death of laughter. You have to there has to be a degree of trust between two people to be able to laugh. If there is distrust there is no comedy. There's no humor. You. Instead, you have your dander up. Your your your defy you're in a defensive posture. And I think we're going I think people are going into every activity like this waiting to either be offended or see who is offended. And even people that aren't public people are watching things like this knowing that no matter what they witnessed and how much they enjoy it. What they're going to hear tomorrow is it Sheila jackson-lee upset over a Pepsi ad. Remember the ad when when Sheila jackson-lee was upset. By the way, what's going on with Sheila jackson-lee and the charges against her. Isn't it interesting that we're not getting the daily updates like we do everything else? She does. This woman brought a case against her. Saying that she reported a rape. And that Sheila jackson-lee fired her as a result of it. That's a really big deal. How about miss women's empowerment? This is not the first employee. She had an employee who is legally blind. Not good. Oh, but an employee that was legally blind that claim that that she made life hell on her because she couldn't she had reduced vision due to her blindness, and that was his individual that was disabled and Sheila jackson-lee was harassing her. She's had interns for for profiles that have been done for congressional quarterly for the Houston press for I think the hill did one there've been multiple multiple reports on how she treats staff that the awful things she does some of which rise to the level of of being criminal. And then she's named the worst boss to work for out of four hundred thirty five congressman multiple years. I think that I think somebody needs to pay attention to this. Where is the media unearthing the daily reports of what's going on against Sheila jackson-lee, or is this going to be swept onto the road? It certainly seems ridiculous that Pepsi would utilize this kind of humor. It was not humorous. It was demeaning. That was Sheila jackson-lee, she didn't like the Pepsi commercial a few years ago, and it was very important as a member of congress Shaar opinions matter as a member of congress she needed to step up and speak out against the commercial at the Super Bowl that should not be playing because Sheila jackson-lee opinions should be known on every issue out there. "Have never seen Sheila jackson-lee behave in this manner. I've never seen her refused to give a public statement and go on air. Whether to defend herself, not first time, she'd been accused of things whether to defend herself or stake her claim. And I've never seen her resigned from a position. This woman is power hungry. Every year. I was on city council. She would she would leak the information that she was running for mayor. She would want everybody to think she was running for mayor. So she could get more attention. She would leak information. She was running for the Senate Eissa laugh. French fine run run against K Bill Hutchison. They let's see how that works out for you. Sweet. Sweetheart that that that'd be fun to watch for her to resign from to public positions. Like this very public positions. For her to refuse to speak publicly for other members of congress. I'm gonna tell you this and you're gonna have to trust me. Politicians in Houston. Not just Republicans. But Democrats, especially they hate her politicians in DC hate her. But they're all afraid to take her on because she's mean vicious and she fights to win if they since she is vulnerable, and they can find a replacement. This is the moment. There's blood.

There are parts of Alabama were where people are still getting ringworm because they don't have access to public house. They'll think about that. There's something wrong with the system that allows a billionaire when kids in what was it Alabama, get ringworm. What's the correlation there? What's what's the causation? So somebody over here that makes in fact, I would say that most of the people listening in this audience right now, it is your fault that kids in Alabama every more. In fact, it's your fault. "Sheila jackson-lee. It turns out they staffer for Sheila jackson-lee. Says she was raped. By man. Who worked high up in the democrat party? Said he invited her for drinks. Then they went to his house. She was texting her friend to the course of the evening saying help I need to get out. She thinks she might have had her drinks by because she didn't know where she was. She couldn't think straight. She woke up the next morning. She says the man was wrapped around her. And she said. Did we do anything last night? And he said, no, you just threw up everywhere. Well, if she threw up everywhere, he's probably not going to be all wrapped around her home. So she went to the hospital. They did a rape test on her. They found trauma consistent with rape. She ended up deciding. Two. File charges? She'd left she'd gone to work for Sheila jackson-lee. This guy was going to end up coming in Sheila jackson-lee. This woman goes to Sheila Jackson lease chief of staff and says, this is what she says, we don't know this to be true. But it's what she claims. She says she told him that this man raped her. Then she says Sheila jackson-lee fired her. Now, of course, Sheila jackson-lee won't lose her position. Of course, nothing will ever come of this. It's not the first time a staffer has claimed this sort of treatment at the hands of Sheila jackson-lee their entire articles about it one by Tim Fleck. That's the best one ever written called driving machine when he was running for the Houston press when I think he did some of his best work, but there's another one by the congressional quarterly. I think there's one by the hill look up Sheila jackson-lee, bad boss abusive, and you'll hear all sorts of stories. She also claims that she was required to draft Sheila around and that Glenn rushing sheila's chief-of-staff said that one of the reasons she was fired was because her car wasn't nice enough. She lets older to get to buy a nicer car. Congressmen are not entitled to a chauffeur and their staffers are not required to drive them around certainly not on personal errands. But it has been since Sheila jackson-lee was on city council. I took her position on city council and has been since she was on city council. There have been allegations of her using staff to go pick up your dry cleaning and run her errands and do things like this. She is by all accounts, a truly awful mean human being. And guess who she's being mean to blacks, usually black women one of whom claims in one of the articles about her that she referred to her as the inward? Another one that she humiliated her in front of her parents when our parents came to Washington DC to visit awful awful things. She has been alleged to say. And do. You'll remember that she had hired the employee who was dachshund the senators releasing their children's names their health information their private addresses that guy worked for her story. After story of this clown Sheila jackson-lee getting away with this nonsense. And who's standing right next to the sheriff. When little seven year old. Jasmine Barnes was murdered who's standing right next to the sheriff right here in Houston. The sheriff of Harris County and announcing that we need to call this what it is a hate crime. And then it turns out it wasn't a quote, unquote hate crime. It was just your average run of the mill black on black murder, and they said, do you feel bad that you said that? And she said, no no there there. There's no feeling bad. If a child has been killed there. No, none of this applies and she'll probably be on the evening news in Houston today. Screaming and hollering about something. Who knows Lord knows what and she will continue on. And that's the game we play in this country. But people aren't stupid people understand why she'll never be removed from office. People understand why. But they don't like it you want to know, what makes people mad that Sheila jackson-lee will continue to do things like this, and that the laws won't apply to her and the rules won't apply to her, and she'll still be in congress, and she'll still be on the evening news tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day in the next day, and people know what's going on. And this is what leads to the anger in this country. You can make people play by the rules, but she can't make them like it. You can you can make these rules that Sheila jackson-lee can get away with whatever the hell she wants. And that you can't you can make those rules and people will play by the rules. They will follow the rule, but they don't have to like it. And if you don't think that there is not a bidder anger in this country at this kind of nonsense, and I will tell you. That's why Trump got elected Nancy Pelosi playing games yesterday with the state of the union and everything was fine. And Trump said you know, what I can play their game as well as they can. And then some any did there's not another Republican alive that would have done what he just did. And you know, what I never would have felt this way before I'm glad he did it, Tracy..
