Democrats Think Parents Should Have No Say in Their Children's Education

"Show. The other day, Terry mcauliffe said the quiet part out loud. He literally said, parents should have no Shay in their child's curriculum. Think about that. That's how bad a candidate he is. He don't even know to keep his mouth shut in feeling that way. But he said it out loud. Appreciate the transparent she Terry. Good for you. Democrats don't believe parents ought to have any say in their child's curriculum. If you object, Merrick Garland and his Justice Department are gonna come after you as a domestic terrorist. They're desperate. The desperate and we all know it. We all see it. And so after Terry mcauliffe said out loud, that parents should have no say in their child's curriculum, The Washington Post ran a column that shed parents don't have. They don't have any say. They doubled down. This is the view of the left. They want control of your children. Not you.

September 17, 1787: The History Behind This Significant Day

"Today is a day that every single child in school should take pause and be leads through and told the great american story of how we got here. Today is a beautiful day. There's a lot wrong with our country right now and i wanna take a pause to remember what happened on this day in seventeen. Eighty seven september seventeenth. Seventeen eighty seven was one of the most significant days in human history. It was definitely one of the most significant days in political history. Almost never before had this idea of self government been tried. The romans tried it in some capacity and failed and eventually became an empire. The greek strident and city states. But never before. Did a people attempt to embark on a form of government. We're the people were the sovereign. The idea of self government independent judiciary the ideas of freedom and equality in the rule of law that are the ultimate principles to build that society. In today's time it's easy to feel disconnected to the brilliant so the clairvoyance or the wisdom of our founding fathers or the framers september seventeenth. Seventeen eighty seven was the last day of a heated constitutional convention that lasted almost the entire summer and went from may twenty fifth to september seventeenth. Hundred eighty seven. The question is what kind of government do we want to form now. A sloppy way to talk about the american stories say we had two founders one in seventeen seventy six and one in seventeen eighty seven that is not true there is an a divine connection between the truths of the declaration of independence and the laws of the constitution of the united states

"You exist dot com where people could go on there and they can post a picture and like sheriff story of their loved one whoever it was their significant other or their kids or their dog and it was absolutely just heart in mind. Bending i mean it was just a incredible experience for i think for the fans to be able to have an outlet and have a song. They had the words to say and to share someone but for us like looking at those stories of just a mike. We wrote that song just because we really liked it and we wanted to say something to our fans that we are just a phrase that. Dan had written down on his phone he said in his everyday life. Glad you exist and when you bring a title like that up in the room like that. This is not an easy thing to like. Yeah that sounds like the perfect bluebird moment is glad you exist so to have both where it's just it. Truly is my blowing to think that millions and millions of people you know even at this very moment or having that experience With our music and connecting with that in such a personal way have every single person is a every little you know view. You see one view if you look at like man. That's not a lot of us. That's one person but then you look at the family that that affects in the night is just a trickle down effect. And it's just i. It's so insane to me that it's meeting at that house. Party was not only the changing moment for all of us. But now look what we've got to be a part of because music is so much bigger than all of us. I mean it goes out into the world and we're not responsible for what it does after that and it's just every single person has a story in a connection with that and music not just our music. The music in general is literally can change the world and bring a smile space. And i think that's a pretty incredible thing. Hey guys thanks for listening to the sunday. Sit down podcast. Gabby eric travel around and we would sing in different churches and we would go everywhere we just love making music and everybody in my family did something music. Both sides of my grandparents had piano at the howson every time they're like oh we'd do specials like oh he's got a spatial as how they said he's gonna do a special today and we'd get up there. You know thanksgiving dinner and i've played his horrible saw. The jotted awful but they stuck with a man. When i was probably i think eight years old was the first time we went to nashville as a family. Like you know the three kids and we made an album just like all his songs of put together. We always love to do it and my dad was always the best. I mean my dad my mom and they would They definitely champion that of just kind of letting us if music what we wanted to do. And that's what it was. And i never felt you know you're pressured to do that. My dad had a construction company. And i had that of after working construction for like i think i'm to dabble a music. Try that try to go down that path them. They were always very very supportive. But after coming to nashville. I just had this moment. Probably when i was eight years old. I've told my dad. I want to be a singer and he never said like that's awesome son anyways. Let's go with his plans real. You realize it's going to look like he was always very supportive of like. I think you you can't do that. You know and that was definitely a role to by now with my kids. Live just like now if you want to do this you have to chase after what you wanna do no matter what that is whether that is in finance or if it's music and maybe i'll advise them against the music industry now knowing what i know but it was It was such a great childhood growing up there and my whole family. Here guys need to do this chew. We haven't slept than week. Let's go to this party and it was crazy. I walked in. And i remember getting to the house thinking. I don't know if i'm in the right house or not. I got to the front door and the door was locked inside. The window was kind of did like this. I reached in there. And i was like this is going to be a great or breaking and entering into and that point for the cowboys willing going in and so we went in there and i remember dan andy and our our guitar player. Just was there at this party and it was just a a great time. I think we ended up staying up till probably two. Am and there was a moment where everybody was passing around the guitar and kind of playing their songs and i was like like to take a crack at that. You wouldn't believe it. This guy hasn't said a word tire night completely. Quiet everybody's past the guitar around national in this tent we overlooked at. That's right and mean we went to this place called music city thrifts. Just down the road from where we live. We bought like six dollars with a sheets. we tended it out. I mean that's the only way we could stay warm. We a little space heater. We huddled around in a row songs. Whatever it's up and he walked into the tent he's completely quiet like challenge like this shiloh guy hanging out raga. Yeah which i found out later is not. We're all singing. And then it's like two in the mornings i can. I try one and he started saying it. And i i was like everyone was like. Oh my gosh. it's the best. How long has four thousand range Two and a one. And a half marina aero max range roughly. This is a cool fucking ability. I really cool is suggested this spell about a year ago it was a conversation about making under lord more interesting and more fun to play because a lot of people thought it was boring and i suggest that this contrast for him on. What didn't you bring it up on the podcast new. I don't 'cause it wasn't like a private conversation. I can't share everything right but it's just a suggestion. Shays his original. I don't know why i didn't bring it up. It's a it's a while ago. But i honestly thought i think eventually this will replace dark rift. Why that isn't what's done right now. Because i think like maybe they're trying it out and figuring out how good this isn't whatever but i feel like this is just a way more fun spell to use the problem with dark rift is that especially at lower and mid range levels of play. I think it's a very difficult spell. What if this was the old and then adding him sceptre made at global is that broken the cast range so you just put in your found if you made this glow wait one more time the cast range right now is four thousand. So what fiends gate was the old and then ags gave you global range. I could kind of see that. I'm maybe that will be a little bit broken. Like the the thing with dark rift was that there was like a reaction time right if the gates become visible to the enemy team kind of like when you cast relocate on the map. I think that could be okay. Actually that could be interesting but yeah. I'm super happy to see this. I think it's gonna make the hero a lot more fun. It kind of sucks that it's a sceptres you need to pay for this games. People aren't going to get it but it's the spell concept itself is really fitting this and it makes it. I think a big challenge will underline generals just you know there are people that like zero. There's not many of them and wanna make this hero more accessible. I have to commend you. Great suggestion have you talked to ice frog about my suggestions on legion commander. No all right please do that. You're listening to the podcast..

Was Godzilla vs Kong the Return of Movie Theaters?

"We spend all of the pandemic grousing about how movie theaters died and then movie theaters came back back back to life. Godzilla vs kong resurrected movie theaters. What are you have to say about this at true easter weekend. Right it's great. I'm glad that people went to the movies. I hope safely and had a nice time watching spectacularly dumb but in my opinion just like deeply deeply stupid in the best way whether this is like the return of movie theaters full stop forever is something i think you and i should discuss. He'll discuss it so three thousand movie theaters showed god's versus congress weekend it made forty eight point five million dollars domestically it also has done quite well overseas. So why did that happen. What was it about this dumb but fun movie. That we talked about last week was shay. What is it about is it is. Are we having a cultural human communal desire to get back into theaters. I know that. I have been having that and i've been talking about that for a year. Now is just that this was a movie that was incredibly legible to the broadest number of people literally it's called godzilla vs kong. These are very understood terms. What do you. What do you think accounts for this. It's a little bit of everything i think. Which is the boring answer but sure. Oh theaters are open again. They weren't in most places. Most people didn't really know that he was known for his scholarly writing his multi twelve thirteen volumes biographical histories of tibet in in tibetan. So i met him and really have been his students since the early seventies and in the nineties he let us know that he had written a book on soak chen the only one to my knowledge that he has written and in nineteen ninety six. We invited him to the states as we did as much as we could and That time we're in california and he gave a retreat on that text. Which is the first time. That i had ever heard it. Who is QB2 in 2021 NFL Draft?

"It would have been fully justified and with that we welcome you back as always live from the seaport district appear seventeen brought to you by chase. I green this get up and we have a huge our coming your wine. It starts with this. It's a quarterback sneak mc shays make board is in and wait till you see the first four picks. He's with us live to break down off the top. Then wait a minute. What did russell say. Is he talking about getting sri. Didn't from seattle the wild ride in. Nfl history continues. And then we'll tell you how the shawn watson saga plays out and what it will mean for every team in the nfl. All that and more as we get out with you when this hour which starts right now with todd mcshay post super bowl mock draft. It's available right now on espn plus all it. It's fascinating a number one. That's no big surprise. He's got trevor lawrence going number one to urban meyer and the jaguars. But here's where it gets interesting. He also has quarterbacks going to three and four at two he has the jets taking. Byu's zack wilson who has been rising up. Everybody's draft what he has been be talk of the nfl draft process so far at three overall. He's projecting trade the panthers moving up from eight to take north dakota state's train lance to be their quarterback of the future which leaves ohio states justin field sitting there. Four and mcshea has the falcons taking him fields the second highest total qbr in college football season and then jones sliding down a little bit later to make five quarterbacks in the first round in there he is the man with the mic board. It is mcshea and it's awesome. Let's start with this todd. We all understand. Trevor lawrence going number one. Nothing even to discuss. How firmly planted in. Your mind is zack. Wilson right now as the number two quarterback in this draft. I think very firmly. The first thing i do when the season is over and a govan studied the top quarterbacks. Because i know that's what we're going to talk about for the majority of this process leading up to the draft and after lawrence. There's a little bit of a gap and then at zack wilson. And then there's a gap between gods trey lance from north dakota state and justin feels from ohio state. So i think he is clearly the number two quarterback in this class. The question becomes greenie. Is that the jets taking two or the jets gonna move out and allow a team like a carolina to that number two spot to take him. And that all depends on the domino's in terms of the veteran quarterbacks right now where does shawn watson wind up carson wentz. We know is going to get moved to chicago indianapolis. I think joe douglas. The general manager is kind of waiting. And seeing some of these other quarterbacks go and he's fielding phone calls he's not aggressively making calls but fielding calls to see maybe if they can move sam darnold and if they do exactly since the pick for the jets at number two and if not as i said i think the jets will move outta to and wilson will still wind up being that number number two overall pick in this class. I grew the. I've been saying for a while. I agree with you completely. He'll be number two. The question is who winds up making the peck. Then the other part of this is. I'm old enough to remember a time when we wondered if justin fields might supplant trevor lawrence as the number one draft now all of a sudden these the fourth quarterback off the board. How did that happen. You go back. And study games against indiana northwestern. And then the college football playoff national championship game against alabama. He completed around fifty two percent of throws with five interceptions. Those games in my opinion. You look at it physically. He's big. he's sturdy strong who mobile. He's got a big arm all the traits that you look for. But he likes to see his receivers. Come open and get stuck on that. I read very frequently. So you compare him with trae. Lance and i have identical grades on the to train. Lance didn't play the level of competition. Didn't play as many games as is justin fields but i think he processes the game a little quicker in terms of going from his first into a second and third and seeing the entire field. So it won't surprise me if it feels is third quarterback off the board. But i think they're kind of bunched together in that third tier of quarterbacks behind lawrence wilson and then the other two and then i want to ask you about the guy that you currently have fifth because i'm a regular listener of the first draft podcast and so i'm listening the other day to you and field. Yates and mel kiper talking about what was going on at the senior bowl and everyone is raving about matt jones. Your buddy mel had max jones moving this thing and i believe he has him sort of. I believe he hasn't projected higher than you have in projected. What do you see for mack. Jones as this process goes on the fifth quarterback in the first round. Well i think what's going to happen. He's matt jones is going to benefit from the fact that these four quarterbacks are gonna come off the board quickly and it's probably going to be cut because of trades moving up. I have matt jones going number twelve overall right now in a i had chicago moving up to twelve in san francisco. Moving back to twenty we have to see where carson wentz go. It does go to

This means and why is it important to understand while this happens. As a result of amalgamation wolf three major factors as a result of aging process amalgamated with age related diseases we accumulate over the life span as less side effects of medications. Let me give you an example. What this means. So recent example for my clinical practice beatrice is ninety two year old lady. She's quite fit. Well lead independently. She before the lockdown. She became very confused. Homeless admission is keen swimmer. Could not stand to go into a rehabilitation facility and it was good two months before she actually returned home and she was not back to normal cell sure required carrozza assistance required Family to help. And that's what frailities. It's their amalgamation. She did not know that. Race frail have family did not understand why mom sophie to while swimming the day before teaching her class next day hunterston agen and actually swearing which Merited before in. How confused state why this will happen into. It was very traumatic for the families. And that's what i said. I explained frame because of course as a result of a previous mini strokes should have reduced brain reserves and urinary infection. Eat infection there are toxins in the body which up poisoning the brain. Now in you. And i we might not have a major program but had strokes if so bring presents lou and should develop a confusion shays ninety two age related changes to the boogie moss and muscles. Woman sells crochet Bernie doll for over $20,000, donates to charity

"You've seen all of the Bernie Sanders means from Inauguration Day. A famous photo now of the Vermont senator at the inauguration shows up seemingly everywhere these days, and it raises thousands for charity, too. Thanks to a local woman. Compost, Brian Calvert explains. The photo shows a bundled up former presidential candidate sporting a pair of knitted brown tan and white mittens. The picture is definitely made the rounds and it also motivated Toby King to get out her crow. Shea Needles mind blowing because I knew Burning was training because of that picture, and I already had a Bernie pattern in a burning doll. So I just went and got that and I modified in Super quick plan. She wanted to do her own version of the Bernie in the photo. By way of crew. Shay and from beginning to start didn't get up and it was seven hours. But that's on top of the hours and hours of actually designing that that I did like a year ago, when it was all said and done. The Redmond woman had a doll, a perfect likeness of the now infamous photo. She even re created a tiny version of those mittens, the mittens, mittens or not that hard, it's just the color changing a special stitch. Now what to do with a tiny crew shade. Bernie Sanders doll. Toby King immediately thought of doing something good with it. After all, Bernie himself was already cashing in on the popular pose much of sweatshirts. And donated two meals on wheels. Vermont and I said that that is perfect. That is what I want to do. She decided to sell it on eBay and give the proceeds to meals on Wheels America, she tells K II TV. That's when things got really interesting for 99 cents, And then a few minutes later. I want to take the screens. I was like, Wow, it's five bucks. The auction ended earlier this week and the winning bid $20,300 Toby King of Redmond had no idea that good she could do And now she wants everyone to have a crow shade. Bernie. She's not planning on making more. But she is putting the pattern for the doll in her Etsy store named Toby Time. Crow Shea. I'm so so just so happy that everybody is making their own little Bernie and planes and Bernie's out there and just it just makes everybody so happy. Brian Calvert Homo news. Come on his time 1

Because you're going to hear a lot more dylan. I'm telling you why. After i tell you about shed concrete this homeowners and builders out there you know what i'm gonna tell you. My brother-in-law greg at the folks that shake crete they have a huge selection of pre cast concrete steps. You got to check this out. There's a tv commercial. Shay has great vibes with designs for any home. They're veiling concrete. You can customize your steps with beautiful stone granite or brick. New staircase can dramatically upgrade the front entrance of your home. Maybe that's tom brady. Inches el ni. They can't seem to unload. There's little bungalow thirty three million dollar home. Maybe they have to upgrade the steps. That's how you do it. Most cases can remove your old stairs and heavy walking a new set of front steps within hours. And just like that. Your host looks better houses worth more and maybe trying to sell it. Maybe it helps you sell it. It's new steps they can. They can really help you move that old home and make it look better and so quicker you can learn more about chase pre cast concrete steps steps at a concrete dot com to stop by one of their four state of the ad for scillies. All over new england. I bob dylan. And i love these stories because this this is what the taylor swift it. Which means that they will wake up and actually have some interest in this topic. Talking about my girl taylor. Swift sold her music catalog to what's his name scooter braun. Oh yeah and then complains. After bob dylan sold his music library for three hundred million dollars. That's right And by the way He sold is popularly. Seventy eight which is another one of those amazing miracles. The bob dylan still around still kicking. Well did you hear what he said about this jerry region. But here's what's going to happen you me. We'll be watching You know football game. We're watching wednesday night football thursday night football tuesday night. Football game mini mini games That around these days and there's gonna be a commercial for flow or he'll be commercial for you name it Gimme gimme some tv for apple apple. Lot of apple commercials. That's a good one apple amazon target. And it'll be Some of my friend is blowing in the wind blowing in the wind or something blue. What's blue some blue jet blue. And they'll be tangled up in blue. You'll go what bob dylan. His stuff is going to be of vera readily available companies to put in tv commercials. Because bob dylan sold out. It's bob dylan's if you don't like it if you think you know that he's Not that kind of guy that he wouldn't ever seventy-nine by the way he sold out. He took the money. God bless him his family's gonna why he needs the money but his family is going to be fabulously wealthy for generations but companies like target nap bullen and whatever flow what is flow sell insurance. Press gress yes i defense. They're going to be able to play. Dylan's pay whatever the going rate is and they could play it and you'll hear it all over the place just like you here. You know the rolling stones in some cases or taylor swift and other artists who was amazing. When i read the story it was about some of the other artists of fleetwood. Mac sold theirs for like. I get the number here here. It is eighty million dollars they sold. It wasn't even the whole catalog eighty million dollars. Fleetwood mac and dillon skate. Like columbine could probably name more wallflower songs and he can bog way. Bob dole i. It's right over my head. I have no idea i look. I'm surprised he got three hundred million. Based on the fact that that ship has sailed a long time ago dylan receives a lump sum between two hundred and four hundred I'm not sure what the what. The stevie nicks sold their publishing catalog for eighty million dollars. The dylan portfolio six hundred songs while other bands who have sold their catalogs sold. You know taking the money. Blondie barry manilow and the estates of john lennon and kurt cobaine. I believe john lennon the beatles. Paul mccartney bought them for like a ridiculous amount of money Like eight hundred million. Paul mccartney owns well. Didn't jackson by michael jackson and then mccray jackson and a falling out story there. But there's only one to look up jerry. Three hundred million eighty million two hundred to four hundred million. What did what did brian. Wilson's father sell the beach boys catalogue for another against the wishes without the kids. Even knowing and i think he sold it for like seventy dollars and a coke or something new never spoke to his father again obviously but if the beach boys is the one you would want because of the catchy jingles. Yeah that's true point and that the father sold it for nothing. He had no idea what he had. And what the value of wasn't a guy goes. Hey i'm gonna dig deep here. I'll give you five hundred dollars. Whereas i sold and brian wilson was never the same after it happened. It's a good point. But i think dylan's got a lot of those you know catch even though they you know might be whatever. The revolutionary songs at times they are a change in blowing in the wind and songs like that which will which will fit nicely in commercials. And we'll be sick of them all with and i'm sure he had control over it and limited the exposure but i guarantee you. He sold the rights to some two songs to some commercials. I assume right Yeah i guess. So i mean i don't blame me if you're gonna die soon and you wanna take care of you. Offspring kids grandkids. You say. What the hell. What do i care if not be capitalizing on all the different changes that are going on in the music industry. I bet it's like a five person team that he has controlling the catalog right. Like it's a he. He owns time. Bob no one said a need the money for anything the the couple couple of years ago. Long before covid were dylan on went on tour and performed at three hundred nights in a year three hundred nights in one year deal and he was like seventy five and i don't know anyone that went to see him. He wasn't playing the big rooms anymore but he's just addicted to performing and singing his songs and i must have just an insane amount of money already. I mean just. But it's like what bob cousy sold all his Collectibles always memorabilia. He said what do i need it for. This is going to pay for my grandkids education. And can you blame him for that. I wouldn't. I'm a big lira. Guy when it comes to rock and roll. If you consider dylan rock and roll and dylan for what i again. He's not my bag particularly. I don't have any bob dylan on my phone. But his his lyrics. If back on my i always think that you know if you get ten best lyrics of all time. You don't need a whether they know which way the wind blows is one of the great lines right and i'm with you. I'm a lear. Emma word man to and i love you know singing along to whatever tangled up in blue and he. He won the nobel prize for whatever writing. Poetry didn't show up for the award. You know. I believe. I believe greta thune. Berg was second so she'd go toward for him but no he won the nobel prize. I think he blew the market and show up to get the thing and these the only singer or songwriter to win to win it

Fire connecticut home. His death prompted outpourings of stories about shay's unusual and unusually successful approach to business for twenty years. he was. ceo zappa dot com the online shoe and clothing retailer. He let it with philosophy summed up in the two word title of his best selling book delivering happiness in two thousand ten. He told cbs news. He believed it was possible to make customers. Employees and investors happy while still turning a profit which he did in spades amazon acquired zappa's dot com in two thousand nine for one point two billion dollars shea invested in the online shoe cite zappa's dot com. Then call shoe site dot com in nineteen ninety nine a young entrepreneur. He had already founded in grown and online. Advertising site called link exchange a year earlier at the age of twenty four. Its name to zappa's taken from the spanish word for shoes ocado when she was initially pitched on investing in shoe site dot com. He was skeptical in nineteen ninety nine. The beginning of the internet bubble ecommerce was still young and untested. conventional wisdom. Was that you couldn't sell shoes online. Because customers were used to try on shoes before buying them but then she learned that five percent of shoe buyers already purchase shoes from catalogs. That's five percent of what was then a forty billion dollar market that persuaded shea to take a crack at online shoe sales even though he later told cbs news. I'm not a shoe person at all. Rather he would wear one pair for two years until they wore out and then by another to conquer the hurdle that customers needed to try on shoes shape pioneer to custom. We take for granted today. Zappa's would ship for free and allow returns for a year. It was not uncommon for customers to order five pairs of shoes in return for. That was okay with shay. He wanted customers for life to that end. He invested in domestic call center workforce rather than outsourcing to countries with cheaper labour famously. He empowered those customer support employees to do whatever they needed to make customers happy. There are no time limits on phone calls one. Possibly apocryphal story was that a worker stayed on the phone with one customer. For more than five hours. Critics wondered how zappa's could make money by investing so much in the people who answered the phones after all only about five percent of customers ordered on the phone the rest purchased online shea. Believe however that the phone was branding opportunity customer service by workers who bent over backwards to help them would be customers forever and of course they tell others about their experiences in addition he wanted his employees to be so happy that they would consider working at zappa's a calling not a career. He went so far as to offer to pay new employees to quit. The offer received a few weeks into a new job. Ranged from about one thousand to three thousand dollars the idea. He didn't want employees to stay if they weren't passionate about the job and the culture his quirky management technique became widely known simply as the offer growth was swift in two thousand revenues. Were about one point. Six million dollars by the time of the sale nine years later revenues had reached a billion dollars after the amazon acquisition shea. Stayed on as ceo. He retired last summer. Devoting himself to an economic development project in las vegas where he lived under shays. Leadership amazon is said to have allowed zappa's to remain as independent as an amazon acquisition. Could be recently. However the company's begun integrating it more fully offering prime rewards to zappa's customers the idea to help it. Maintain competitiveness against chains like dsw owned by conglomerate designer brands with several hundred warehouse stores. Nationwide dsw's one of the largest shoe retailers in america it consistently plies customers with loyalty discounts and coupons in an effort to get them to return to its brick and mortar stores again and again but cova closures hit designer brands. Hard in the second quarter which offers first sales fell. Almost in half third quarter results will be released next week. Twenty years after a young tony shay became convinced that yes you could sell shoes online. He turned out to be not only unconventional but prescient in a pandemic. it may be about the only place to sell them in a statement following shays death zappa. Ceo kadosh dish. Pandey said the world has lost a tremendous visionary and an incredible human being

Read i even think about even with working out like if there's somebody working out ex me there just like doing like more like heavier. Weights are like longer endurance. So it's you guys have any tips or advice for our listeners about hata not yet balanced. Because i think it's impossible but just try to avoid more of a balance according to your your idea of balance. Yeah go ahead. I know i know for me One of my big things is taking taking step that maybe a finding time for your business. I think a lot of times moms who are trying to get into. The business are trying to do too much. You have to delegate right if you wanna grow here you got to get rid of stuff here so it may be taking that step in having some help come into the house to take care of your kids two days a week so you can focus on your business or maybe it's just hiring somebody to come clean your house so that you've got that extra time but i do think making the space to stay motivated in your business is important and then i think the second thing is learning when to say no and learning start. Things aren't working or whether it's taking on a particular listing whether it's just if it's not helping you grow in it's taking away elsewhere it may be best to to cut it out so i heard sex wise words. We don't have perfect days. We don't have perfect bodies. We don't have perfect anything. We can expect our kids to be perfect and when we show our children that were human as well. It doesn't give them unrealistic expectations of themselves. That lets them know that. Hey it's okay to make a mistake. Hey It's okay that I don't have to be perfect. Hey you know what I had pizza for breakfast this morning. It's totally okay. Because my mom's not perfect either. My family's not perfect and sometimes imperfection is absolutely perfect. "What others think of? You means nothing what you think of yourself means everything you don't have to meet some scale Some number on a chart. Somebody's unrealistic expectations of you. Whether it be a doctor a parent a sibling. A friend. A coworker it doesn't matter what others think of you. As long as you love yourself and if you love yourself and you're proud of yourself and your confident in who you are that will radiate to everyone around you and that will spread an Arrow will love you because you love yourself today. We hear from mother daughter Duo Shea and Olivia rumbelow have become passionate advocates for self love in a world intent on enforcing unrealistic expectations especially for young women. Olivia is a SPUNKY ARTISTIC. Active kid who with the help from her equally creative and tenacious. Mom overcame an unfortunate situation that threatened to rattle her radical self confidence. Here's Shannon now. She's only twelve but very much her own person. She definitely isn't a typical little girl. She's very funny very very kind. Goes out of her way to be kind of everyone around her. She even has this weird talent for taking kids that bully her and making them into her best friends so she's just a really good kid number lucky she's very happy. Kid super confident silly always loved soccer. Soccer's been her favourite. She's always been an athlete. She played it for six years. Dabble in a little bit of cheerleading but went right back. The soccer soccer's her thing. Just very happy confident. Fun Kid to be around always a pleasure when I spend time with her. I forget I'm hanging out with my twelve year old daughter Shane. Olivia have always had a strong relationship. Fueled in part. Are there shared creativity? And love of photography. We definitely bond over talk graffiti. She started shooting next to me. I've been taking photographs professionally. Fifteen years and she started shooting next to me when she was about nine years old and she has this insane talent so I gave her a solid camera and have been teaching her ever since and she's got major skills in the photography department and I love having her shoot by my side. It's been so fun not only owning my own business but doing it with my daughter by my side as my inspiration and she thinks outside the box and I love her view and her I and it's just a blast working weather. Artistic side often shines through in our interests personal style. She's inspired by the singer pink and decided to cut her hair. Just like a spunky Pixie cut with shaved sides even though. Olivia loved her new. She ended up getting teased for it so much. She had to switch schools prochet watching her daughter. Treated this way was deeply disturbing. You're going to have kids that aren't kind and accepting everywhere you go but when we had to switch it was like she'd already been through a lot and then we got her haircut and she was just tortured and it was. It was awful. It was heartbreaking because she got her haircut and all the sudden I see this this version of my daughter come out who is the happiest ever seen her. She was like this is who I am. I Love I love myself. I love the way I look just so excited and I had to pick her up from school early the next day because she couldn't get even half the day because she was being picked on so bad it was just it was crushing. I called the district and we switched schools within. I don't know a couple of days. We switched because it was so bad. She just refused to go back and it hurt. It was painful to watch my kid not be accepted for who she was but the beautiful part of it was. She accepted herself for who she was. And it just. We had to find the right environment for her. And we did and she has been so happy and thriving and confident ever. Since it's been life. Changing moving schools was the best thing we ever did for her more. I love what matters right after a quick break. Hey guys it's bobby bones. I host the bobby bones show and pretty much. Obviously because I wake up at three o'clock in the morning a couple hours later I get all my friends together. We get into a room and we do a radio show with allies. We tell our stories. We try to find as much good in the world that we possibly can and we look through the news of the day that you'll care about also your favorite country. Artists are always stop by the hang out and share their lives and music too so wake up with a bunch of my friends on ninety eight point seven W. MC q in Washington dc or wherever the rotates you on the iheartradio APP. Welcome back to love what matters things were looking up with. The Libya settled into a new school surrounded by kind accepting but our team trip to the pediatrician would soon shake things up again for the family and challenged Shane. Olivia in new unexpected ways. It was a normal visit for the most part. She's just going in for like a well check and it was right before she turned twelve. She has to get shots and just do a kind of a physical check. Physical and everything was fine and everybody was gray. We've been going to that doctor since we moved here from Tennessee like seven years ago and the doctor leaves the room. Like as if it's over. And then he turns around. He walks back in and he was like. We need to talk about her weight and like the hole in her brothers. Were in the room and like the whole room. Just Kinda got quiet. He sat down and it was trying to explain to Olivia that. We live in a world of Lazy Habits and that he thinks it's time for her to start using exercise equipment. I would confused US both. Because she's an athlete and she's like the least laziest kid on the planet and we were just shocked like were shocked into silence. Almost we didn't even really know what to say. I tried to explain. She's very active. She's hardly ever watch. Tv She reads all the time and she is a soccer player. She had been on restriction because she had broken her ankle a few times and so she was unable to perform anymore until she got her ankle injury under control. But I in my eyes. She was perfectly healthy and I was so shocked. I didn't know what to say. And he left the room. I was so upset. She started crying illegal. Started crying secondly shut that door. I didn't know how to comfort her other than to. Just tell her he's wrong. You're you're fine you're not heavy. You do not need to start running. On the treadmill it went from perfect visit to your daughter ways too much needs to start exercising in like zero to two seconds flat. Both Libya and Shays struggled a process. What happened the interaction with the Doctor? Left them with a mix of emotions when he said that. I was staring at. Olivia like we were just looking at each other and you could see like just. She's such a happy kid. You could see like the happy just drained from her face. And when I saw that I was full of rage you know Mama Grizzly rage. It wasn't about being an overprotective parent. It was about just being a good human being. She's not heavy at all and he just in two seconds destroyed my daughter's confidence and it terrified me. I feel like that's how eating disorders speak in. Like if your doctor who trust with your health is telling you you're overweight. Need to lose weight. Then he must be right. I feel like it gives you a bad body image and she did not need to lose any weight. She was eleven and growing. I was very confused what he was saying. I thought it was over. He likes started with eighty percent of Americans are overweight and then he looked at me and said you're at Nolan Age to start using exercise equipment. Just made me very upset instead. I I was heartbroken because I could see like her eyes. Were starting to well up with tears and I started to feel the same way but then my sadness turned to cheer anger. 'cause it's like you're pediatric doctor. You don't don't destroy young girls confidence like that. You can't. You shouldn't do that to them. And I was so so mad and I was so so shocked. I was silent until he left the other than defending her saying. Hey she's an athlete. She's not lazy. She does exercise. She's on injury restriction. Right now I mean that was all I could spit out my instincts. Were telling me to say things that my children shouldn't here so I left them in the the lobby area. I read or do whatever they were doing and discuss this privately. Because the last thing I want to do is put her in the spotlight in front of not only the doctor. The person out front. Maybe the lobby had people in it like. I didn't want her to feel anymore mortification than I knew. She was already feeling at that time. And then as soon as I walked back to the front desk I was. I let the people out front now. At how mad I was. I was so mad and then the manager of the building actually pulled me back into his office for us to discuss it. I was absolutely enraged. She was furious and rightfully worried. Her daughter was not the only young girl. The doctor had said these kinds of things to this particular doctor was always a little socially awkward. He would like stumble through our conversations. He kinda struggled to like really connect with each of my kids. I have three children. He saw each one of them and he had this tablet that he will just like read off of like almost like he just struggled to have conversations and I thought maybe just he's not understanding. This is not socially acceptable to tell a child. You're in charge of that. She's too too. Heavy needs to use exercise equipment because she's eleven. I mean maybe if we were in our twenties and up and were needing to get our weight under control or even for our own health get ourselves under control. It's one thing but she's an eleven year old child and so I absolutely felt like he probably went in and talked to every parent that way of a kid whose BMI was too high because it was very non emotional. It was very cold but not like cruel just like no emotion in his face. Just kind of these are the numbers. This is what she should be. This is what she's not. This is what she needs to do. And it's like look at her. She's not a number on a charge. He's a she's a child look at her. She doesn't.
