"It's been a while since you played this so I thought it was about time we brought back. Red flag green flag. Right. Shane, the rules are simple. I'm gonna read out some scenarios from last night's episode, and I want you to tell me where you think it's a red flag or a green flag and why. Okay, cool. Are you ready? Hit me. Right, first up, Tanya asking Shaq to apologize to Tom for taking things too far the other night. Green flag. I agree. Green flag. She told him what to do. It was the right thing. She kind of put him in his place and let him know took it too far. And that's a good, that's a good sign from her, because usually some guys just let it lie. And she was soft with it. She was like, I'm going to apologize now. Yeah, exactly. It's very like, you know, babe, I think this is what you should do. Yeah, she did it well. Yeah, she did. Right, next up, we've got Kai wearing leopard print boxers and an orange jump part when sanam was wearing her sexiest underwear. Green flag. Kind of a green flag? Funny, right? Yeah. And it's like, they're cute, man. And it's like they didn't try too hard and they still had a really good time, and she was, she was like, okay. That's too good. I feel like guys don't really have much choice when it comes to being. What are you going to do? Oil yourself up. That's a bit crazy. Oh my God, that's awful. Yeah, so it's like, you know what, go for the city side. I agree completely. Go and enjoy yourself. Also, as nerve wracking, probably see a lot going on. Let's just wear it. Have fun. Right, next, we've got Jesse hinting to will that she wants to be his girlfriend. Oh. Oh, I'm gonna go. What kind of makes green and red when you mix them together? You have an orange. You can't make green. Amber. Are you coming green? No. It's not a primary color. Yes, you can. No, you can't. It's a it's a good debating yourself. You can't make cream. But no, I'm saying what kind of makes green. Because it's traffic light. It's an amber flag. Oh. Why? I feel like. You got to put the feelers out there. You kind of have to see what's going on. You know, you want to you want to see, are you in the same place? Am I going to get that? Yes, that's nice. How did she hit? It was like, she said it. And then it was like another and she was like, so you are. And it was like, oh, okay, we've already serious, and then we'll just kind of panicked a little bit. I think she didn't quite get it right. But in the action, yeah, man ask. Don't ask, don't get. Yeah, you don't know if you don't get sometimes just like, okay, today's video, my boyfriend, we're boyfriend and girlfriend now. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think it's that. I think again, it's all about delivery. Absolutely. But I do think it's a green flag in just asking for where we are. What's going on? Because I think it's very important to be on the same page. And to know what you're heading to, because if we're not about to be in relationship, I'm off. Yeah, bye, you know? Yeah. Cool. Next we've got handcuffing yourself to one another. Bold. That's a green neon green flat. I don't know if you need both hands. No, but you've got one hand. One hand, yeah. And then one hand. This hand's free to do whatever. Yeah, just think that I think it's going to be impractical. Like the idea. It's like a hurdle, you've got to get through, you know? A little bit. Like an escape room. Yeah. Yes, kind of. Okay, next up, we have will and Casey lying on the sun loungers and slapping their bodies. Love it. Good old fun. Don't you dare do this to you? We've been so in sync. I know, but I think that's a bit of a red flag. Really? I mean, he is so childish. I think it's funny. They're not taking themselves too seriously. And in that place, in the villa, you can not take yourself too seriously. Sam would like that because he likes making his own fun. So that's right up here. These are serious slapping as well. I do it all the time. I do it all the time. So I'm on board with it. Cool. Next, we've got Tanya asking Shaq to suck come on, Sam. No, we had this conversation when we watched it last night. Sam doesn't suck toe. I'm so disappointed. Yeah. He has. He did it in the villa as well. You're crazy. He puts my whole foot in his mouth. Corny feet. I got nice toes. Right now, I've got some black gel polish on to match my fingernails and make sorry, but your feet get sweaty and I don't have a foot. I don't bi like feet, right? But like I wouldn't feel right putting my toe in Zara's mouth. I'd be so sorry. She's got gamete feet as is. That is the worst word. You know when someone's second toe is bigger than their big time. It's insane. Okay, it's okay. Don't worry. What do you think Chen is? For me, red. Yeah, I'm not like, that's a bit that's a bit too far. I don't know. I'm still red flag. And there we have it. That is the end of red flag, green flag, and unfortunately the end of the pod. Shayna, thank you so much for joining us. It's been an absolute pleasure having you on. We had a good chat. It's been so much fun. Thank you for having me. You guys are great. It's been great. It's been so much fun. You got a nice trio going on. It's good. Good stuff. Shane, I love you. I love you too, Sam. Orange jumper. Thank you. Now everyone now knows I look like a traffic coach. Sam decided to dress up as a tangerine today. Yay. Call it tangerine dream. And there we go. Another day, another love island ebb. And another debrief from the pod India, thank you as ever for being the best work wife I could ever ask for. Oh, the pleasure is all mine. Willing Cass will be here on Monday morning, dissecting the latest tea from the villa, and we'll be back on Tuesday, ready to chat about the final week of love island. Oh no, I can't believe with this close to the end. We might need some tissues next week because I think it's going to get pretty emotional. I want to see Sam, I've got you covered because I'm going to be in floods. Love island the morning after is produced by listen for ITV, have a lovely weekend and we're going to see you next week. Bye.

"As couples. It'll be who is punching you. Me. Oh God. It's just an opinion. You keep telling yourself that one came alive. He's the nicest guy in the village. What? We'll be good. Oh, God. I'm sweating. This is going to end in tears. Tough game to be on tough gig. Tom and Sammy, hottest couple, do we think? Yeah. Yeah. I think kinds and are up there too. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Yeah, definitely. Were they on the podium for that? They weren't, were they? They were the ones who didn't get picked, but they were actually number three. Oh yeah, I definitely yeah, they're a little couple. Jesse joked that being funny is an attractive quality. Definitely. Like a 100%. I feel like someone could be funny. Someone could just be funny, and they someone can laugh. Off. How do we get there? How do we get it? In my relationship, dami makes me cackle every day. Really? He's quite funny, and sometimes I'd be like, what on earth? Why are you so funny? Do you ever laugh and then get really embarrassed about how hard you are? Yeah. Because I'm like, why am I laughing? On the floor. He's got looks and humor. Dangerous. Very dangerous combo. Yeah, he's got both. I'm a big fan of dabby. Yeah. I was like, you can look good. He's got a good dresser. Got it all man. But yeah, I think they do. I think being not just funny, but I think being affable is like a really big thing. I always say whoever I'm with, whether it be professional colleague, like business partner or something like that or personal relationship, they have to meet well. Yeah. I like to be next someone who meets well. That's a very good you can take them somewhere. Yeah. You can't take everyone everywhere. You're so true. You know you have some people you're like, I can not break it. Same thing. And you're like, you are perfect in your select situation. You shall not be taken out of this solution. And your partner can't be that. Your partner has to bring everywhere. You'll want to have to be filmed like a romantic, like you said, business, romantic, friendship, whatever. It has to be like. They got to be able to read the room and just adapt to wherever you want. You have a boyfriend who just can't read the room. Do you like having a boyfriend? I'm saying imagine having a boyfriend. Like you just can't, you can't bring them somewhere because they got embarrassing. Yeah, yeah. Oh my God, I'm just actually done. You want to be able to bring them to a work event and be able to leave them as well. Yeah, leave them with your colleagues. And then your boss comes up and goes, oh my God. Love him. Yes. Yes. That is like the perfect. And you're like, yes. Well, I mean, Casey and Rosie, I was quite shocked by this. Casey and Rosie were voted the most argumentative. Would any of us put ourselves in the top three for that one? Oh, yes. 100%. Yeah. You guys. You had an argument last night. Really? I had a lot of last night. And then we made up. Are you guys do make up quick? Yes. No. I feel like our arguments won't go longer than like two days. We were like, if it's a big one, it will be two days, but it'll be like awkward silence. And you guys live together. Awkward. Yeah, but it's like, I walk past him in the house and I'll just like put it down on the table and walk off. Yeah, just take the noodles and leave me alone. I'm sorry, that's a sinner. Take the noodles. Oh, here you go. I made you super noodles. Like the loving Wi-Fi am. Yeah, why would pass up there? But I feel like in the villa me and Danny didn't argue. At all. But outside, we argue, but it's just like, I've been around you guys, actually, many bugs. I feel like post argument one time. One time. Oh my God. You took so long to get ready. We were late because of her. And I was like, thanks for coming, guys. I feel like you have to be a special kind of person to see me and die me like post argument. I feel like everyone can feel it. Like if we're like drew just had an argument, everyone knew about it. Oh yeah, you can tell the energy is palpable. But yeah, I'm probably out there as well. I'd say we get over arguments quicker, I think. Yeah. But also, if it blows up, if it blows up, then I always have to apologize. Really? Not because she tells me to, just because otherwise, on the kind of person, I'm like, I'll rise to it really quickly, but I get over things really fast. And so she might, I always try and leave the room, and so I'm a chase on. I locked her up. And he left, and I was like, no, don't walk away from me. I'm literally like, you can't come in 'cause I was like, I know what's going to happen. If we're not going to get worse. Because I'm a Leo. She's a sad. And we're not going to stop. Yeah. Because dictates that I have to win. Yeah. You're a chaser. Yeah. Because you don't want to feel like you're apologizing. So let's just cool down because I know I fully know that whatever the argument is, give me 20 minutes. I'll be over it. I walk out the room and literally be like, oh, you're so annoying, but it's fine. So that's really that's a really good question. I need to but I have to decompress. I need the time. If I don't, and I can't decompress, if we go off. Really? That's so interesting. I have to run away. What India said? Chases are the worst. You can't get away. It's like a good one. And I'm chasing you because I'm like, okay, cool. You want to get angry? Let's continue. Get fucking. Get away from me. It's like a game of snake. So the least sexual chemistry is given to Ron and Lana. Who didn't seem to mind as they don't like PDA. I feel like Lana said about someone who is quite loving. Loving. Yeah. Even like early on when they were all getting to know each other and they were like, I feel like it would be more kissy, they're a bit more like touchy. It was a bit more. Is he touching her ears? I think it's very I think it's very important to touch a partner. It doesn't have to be sexual, but it's very important to just let your partner know that they're still around. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Even if you're in like a when they're having parties, if you're in a crowd today, people are like what boss you and just grazes your back, you're like, okay. If you're India doesn't get that, it's email. In your and the team would like to know why you're feeling heartless. Heartless human being that you don't even want to give me kissing the forehead. It's just ridiculous. I'm literally like if it's gone a couple hours, but we've literally knock kiss me all day. That's why I'm like, yeah. What's going on? You don't love me anymore? Yeah. Not even touched me. All day. Yeah, that's me. Do you know what I do a lot? I do know. Do you kids do kiss our fasting in the morning? I give her a nice spot. Okay, that's your fault. You kiss her to say, when you say bye. Yes, but I do a nose pop first. And

"That icy dangerously cold air has already spilled into the Midwest, and in some places it's brought blizzard conditions. That is causing travel trouble, including flight cancellations and delays. Shayna stolin is at Reagan national airport. Travelers say they're getting here hours ahead of time. I'm hoping it works. That's why we're here at the crack of dawn. Crystal Thomas, her husband and toddler are heading to Fort Lauderdale. This wasn't their first attempt. This is our second foray at the airport. And we were here last night, and we were standing by and there was every flight was taken up. Every seat, it was overbooked. But they're hopeful they'll get on the flight this time. Trisha freight has a long trip to Japan and has been monitoring the impact of winter weather. Her advice? Just a positive and come early and everything will go smooth. So far, the lines here at the south security checkpoint in terminal two are moving, sometimes there's barely a line at all. Shayna stealing, they'll be TOP news. There have been dozens of delays and cancellations at dulles and BWI thurgood Marshall airports today. Be sure to check in with your airline before heading to that airport. This is Kate Ryan, the busiest travel time is here in John Bush with the Department of Homeland Security says give yourself plenty of time arrives say two hours before your flight. Checking in with the airline, finding parking at the airport, making way through everything is a little bit busier during this weekend. Bringing gifts home, wrap them when you get there, not before you fly. "And I think most importantly, you know, he started the year with Marsha and out playing full-time on Patrice bergeron's left wing marchand comes back and instead of bumping him down the lineup, they just move them over to the right side and keep those three together and I imagine that's going to be one of the best 5 one 5 lines in the league and if he's able to kind of ride shotgun with those two guys, there's going to be a lot of points in his future this season. Yeah, absolutely. And maybe last year there was a little more hesitancy. Like grab him because you might be wondering how long is it going to be till Pasha nos right back in that position? But the bruins have obviously realized the best thing that they can do is keep posh knock and Martian bergeron on different lines so you have a better one two punch. And Jake de brus really filled the role so well. He's shooting the puck way more and you could see a lot more confidence and I have to think that the coaching change helped him out. You know, we talk about players who maybe they don't get the right opportunity and they have to go to a different team or something like that, but sometimes it's just finding a different voice to lead the way to see something in a player maybe that Cassidy didn't do well enough or to see a way to unlock his game differently. And it just really seems to be clicking with him. He's shooting the pakatan. He looks more confident. He's benefiting from really good teammates. So it's all that's a great thing to have. And he's on the top power play unit right now. I don't know if that's going to last for him, you know, and create your returns. But it's something to have in the meantime. Like, why not if you can bank any points off that top unit? That's why I play if you stick with Boston on the campus lindholm has become really good from a fantasy perspective because he's on the top unit two. You wouldn't think of him for offensive miniature generally and you could see how his 5 on 5 offensive play was on the ride last year in Boston because he played with mcavoy versus where he wasn't Anaheim, but now you're legitimately going to see it with tangible points and categories that will help you with lindholm because he's on such a great top unit that was already doing amazing and is even better with marsh and back.

So may- personal is shayna trees taylor which is my full name so i have three instagram. That's gotta hurt. Because i have one and i on people to help me about it. Yeah i also catholic talk so think about the concentration for all those. It's full-time gig. Yeah no not oh. I don't even get me started on talk. I tried it for one day. And i quit. I was like this is just for children and you ryan just not me. Brian telling me something right now. He said that. I asked you about five things that she only answered to him. I don't think that's true within my long rant there is about i think i think you just were not paying attention rentals out. Greens is another I think putting in some other type of healthy item. Like that was what i was saying about promoting jews adding things you these etc and then i mean for me when you're an entrepreneur and also just somebody who is a little bit more high on because you care a lot about what people want thank you etc helping people. I mean. this is not my bias. Answer because i have a cd company but honestly cd has changed my life so much like i was crying this morning about a couple of things with work and then i took. Cb need to get on this call. And i feel very zone. I'm like in my element. both. I need that because i like i literally. I will go into a panic attack over. Like i have something coming up in october and panicking today because unlike westbound skin going to be like what am. I don't know why i let these things just spiral in my brain. But i do and i do. "But i can't take it all day every day you know. I obviously need to find a natural something natural that work. So i can drive my car to pick up my kids but yes i do i do. I did find the one that i was taking. It did make me hungry. And i think the whole you know a lot of these things aren't fda approved and then like there's so many things on the market like how did you go about finding the best quality ingredients for your own personal line. So the reason why i decided to get into the wild wild west of industry is because on my platform for a really long time. How shane is getting started was that i was always promoting in basically giving people products that i bet it in that had worked for me never did pay partnerships. Never did anything like that. I just wanted to share my knowledge on products. That i was a real stickler about because i'm like i hate greenwashing. I think marketing tactics bullshit. I think the fda needs a lot of help on what they regulate for for supplements and like things were allowed to in our bodies that gets a sane. That's a whole other topic. I can really get ranted on but so we'll see. Cbd you know when people were asking the common questions like what. Am i supposed to do from a holistic perspective. I don't wanna take anti-depressants xanax anymore. I'm have oth- in severe pain in amman. It pains supplements. And i don't wanna do that anymore. Like you know people. I've sleep issues like these. Are the three things that like cd. Be top most helpful things for so. I started to try and find a cd company that i thought was trustworthy enough and i at the time you know. Four years ago. When i started wanted to launch my company and i could not find one brand that i thought was transparent. That had quality was like nothing so i was like. Wow this is cb not only could help so many people at the plant medicine. But like i essentially. This is something that's really changed me. Help my life because of my. I have scoliosis Pinched nerve for years and anxiety issues with trying to go on television and do different appearances in like there's a lot of anxiety in that i'm as you know very well and so i started trying to find a manufacturer. I talked to like six hundred manufacturers. Not none of them. Not one could tell me that they had even went to wear their hemp was grown. Nor did they even really care about the polity. They're like oh it is organic. I'm like why because the farm tells you like. What do you mean right so i was like the only way i'm going to be able to know like this is a a wholeheartedly from start to finish high quality products. If i do this myself so i said to dive into it and sure enough. I was like i'm gonna have had far perfect. No idea where start. I guess i'm just going to like go with it and hope for the best and sure enough like manifestation at its strongest. i found farmers and became partners. And we're certified organic we. We use all Regenerative agriculture practices and were very much on board with trying to become a biter namic farm and like really keeping it batik. So we have our farm in vermont. I go for the planting. I go for the harvest. I love to spend time with the plants. And that's kind of how i created. Baldwin stone was. Because i wanted to be able to tell people that are relying on these things to get off their medications that you know this is a product. You can really trust because i know from soil to cede to race to win. It's extracted to when it's dried. Like i know everything because i oversee it all right so they can trust it and So that's that's how i so. That i think there are so many products out there and so many people just attached are named as like to anything. It's like okay. I'll i'll put my name on that. It is really smart of you to go. And obviously people trustee. Oh they know that your holistic and not you know what. I'm seeing what i'm saying. They trust in the fact that you're were going to be healthy with your body. You're not going to put something in your body that you don't trust them and then sell it to someone else. I'm exactly how so for bottle in stone ju- have more than one product. How is that going going great. So we actually launched april last year in the mid kobe which was very interesting and i make a decision on if that was what i wanted to do or hold off but i you know with the belief system of a have was. Everyone was living in the state of panic anxiety because of what was going on with kobe. Like i felt like you know at all. I mean i had every plan in the book of how to launch this and i had so many things set up with press. All just went like not happening and it was right. I'm be honest. It was very hard for a small business and it was really difficult for me to kind of swallow that because i was like works years this project and i was so happy that it was going to you know launch and then everything i plan was just kind of taken away from me and I have so started off with tinctures. So i have a six hundred and three hundred cinema natural flavor and then i have a mid spray. Which is one of pinscher. By the way. Because i'm not sure because there's one on my desk in there and mike wages this have thc. Because i don't want that. Just danger is just a style of the bottle so it means has a drop okay so yeah so if if if if it has in it they actually have to state the amount legally on it so we have less than zero point. "We can't have a salad or juice every day or like get in the vegetables that we need. And that's okay. So it's a matter of giving finding the right product in supplementing with those types of things to get the nutrients that you you really that your body is really craving for. So where do you get the minerals from. Like i've heard obviously grains i love grains like where it but from food or can you just get a supplement cause some really down for taking a pill so i saw a doctor friend of mine. Actually he has his own green and minerals brand. It's called get off your acid and he strike already down. Yeah get off your acid dot com. So he's a historic actually really interesting and he's very knowledgeable. A holistic nutritionist and certified holistic practitioner. And the reason why he came up with these products was because his father actually got diagnosed with stage where cancer and so he applied all the knowledge that he had to try and reverse it. Because you know at that point when you're at stage four. They basically gave him four months to lay. And so this whole concept. The he created off knowledge from keeping the body alkaline and getting those. Those blood cells at their most less inflamed point is the only way to really reverse it and because of you know. He forced these green minerals on his father in testing his blood everyday and seeing the inflammation. Kind of go down. He was able to keep his father lives before years So he kind of applies that knowledge towards all of his clients because essentially viruses and cancer and things cannot survive in an alkaline body. And so giving your body. Those abilities and process to be alkaline is is one of the most beneficial. Be blast me. What is the number one thing that you travel with out of like you know supplements you take i literally say like these greens and minerals because when you fly your depleted of minerals instantly because it's dehydrating on a plane then like who eats airport food every you eat you feel disgusting so it's like having those greens at least you. Have you know the the vegetable intake that you're supposed to get to get your body alkaline. Lake it's just a small thing that you can add into your daily routine that is really beneficial to the body long-term so interesting to hear. Because i have psoriasis. And if that's like all about inflammation on in different places and it's causeway stress and other things but You know. I'm always looking for ways to like. I mean i'm on medication for it but I'm always looking for ways. Just get that bloat down. Get the Information down. So i'm definitely going to try that Tummy a little bit. Like i know that you're not a doctor. But you're your professional chef and your model. Obviously we've already ryan in talk about that. But how do you go about making this food for these these famous people that you cook for and not just wanting to eat it all like everyone wants to be healthy. I mean you have to probably make some food that you're like i don't know i don't do personal chef work anymore. I used to when i was when i was younger. Yeah so i. Now that i have to companies in my own brand. I just don't have time. Unfortunately i would love to eventually create a food delivery service because i think every single one. "Amy for <Speech_Female> joining <Speech_Female> me on this episode <Speech_Female> as always before <Speech_Female> we end today amy. <Speech_Female> Do we have any questions. <Speech_Female> Yes megan <Speech_Female> we have one question <Speech_Female> from jamie weiner <Speech_Female> and her question <Speech_Female> i think is something <Speech_Female> that you'll want <Speech_Female> to answer. Since <Speech_Female> this is kind of your area <Speech_Female> of expertise <Speech_Female> we'll see about that <Speech_Female> all right. What <Speech_Female> are your thoughts on trial <Speech_Female> penalty. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> Oh <Speech_Female> that's a good question <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> The reason this probably <Speech_Female> is under my <Speech_Female> Area of expertise <Speech_Female> is. Because i <Speech_Female> write a lot <Speech_Female> are used to write a lot <Speech_Female> on plea bargaining <Speech_Female> practices. So for people <Speech_Female> who don't know. The trial <Speech_Female> penalty is essentially <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> an extra <Speech_Female> punishment. That's <Speech_Female> leveraged upon <Speech_Female> people who <Speech_Female> exercise <Speech_Female> their right <Speech_Female> their constitutional <Speech_Female> right to a trial <Speech_Female> on so <Speech_Female> they get punished more harshly <Speech_Female> than the people who <Speech_Female> plea bargain. <Speech_Female> And what i think about <Speech_Female> it. Is i <Speech_Female> think that we need to <Speech_Female> radically <Speech_Female> restructure <Speech_Female> and reform <Speech_Female> the plea bargaining system <Speech_Female> in this country <Speech_Female> because ninety five <Speech_Female> to ninety seven percent <Speech_Female> of people <Speech_Female> are plea bargaining. <Speech_Female> And it's because of <Speech_Female> the incentives or <Speech_Female> it's <Speech_Female> really because of the punishment <Speech_Female> they're afraid <Speech_Female> they're going to face if they <Speech_Female> don't take a plea <Speech_Female> and that's not justice <Speech_Female> so my opinion <Speech_Female> is really <Speech_Female> bad. It is bullshit <Speech_Female> an <Speech_Female> unfortunate <Speech_Female> another <Speech_Female> Part of our system <Speech_Female> that is <SpeakerChange> in dire <Speech_Female> need of reform. <Speech_Female> The next question <Speech_Female> is from jillian <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> now. Jillian <Speech_Female> wants to know if we've ever <Speech_Female> looked into <Speech_Female> a case from <Speech_Female> ireland because <Speech_Female> if you recall <Speech_Female> she is from <Speech_Female> ireland so <Speech_Female> megan. I'm pretty sure you <Speech_Female> probably have one on your <Speech_Female> list. I have one on my <Speech_Female> list. That should be coming <Speech_Female> up soon. And that is <Speech_Female> the murder of elaine <Speech_Female> o'hara <Speech_Female> and this woman was murdered <Speech_Female> in two thousand <Speech_Female> twelve so keep a lookout <Speech_Female> for that one. Do you have <Speech_Female> any cases from ireland <Speech_Female> on your list. <Speech_Female> I have one on my list. <Speech_Female> I'm not sure what i'm <Speech_Female> gonna do it. But i'm sure <Speech_Female> you'll believe <Speech_Female> this but i got <Speech_Female> interested in the case because <Speech_Female> of a show i watched <Speech_Female> an acorn. <Speech_Female> The show <Speech_Female> was called the secret. And it's <Speech_Female> based on the true story <Speech_Female> of colin <Speech_Female> howell <Speech_Female> and his <Speech_Female> murder of <Speech_Female> his spouse. <Speech_Female> Leslie <Speech_Female> it turns out <Speech_Female> this was such an interesting <Speech_Female> case in which <Speech_Female> he got involved with. <Speech_Female> The woman has church <Speech_Female> named hazel. <Speech_Female> They began having <Speech_Female> an affair together <Speech_Female> and then <Speech_Female> together. They <Speech_Female> killed both <Speech_Female> of their spouses. <Speech_Female> Oh i know <Speech_Female> this and this one <Speech_Female> really blew my mind. <Speech_Female> And i don't want to give it away because <Speech_Female> there is a surprise <Speech_Female> ending <Speech_Female> on this one which i <Speech_Female> may have mentioned <Speech_Female> on acorn but <Speech_Female> this is the one case that <Speech_Female> as a really <Speech_Female> resonated with <Speech_Female> me in terms <Speech_Female> of being from this <Speech_Female> was northern ireland <Speech_Female> so i <Speech_Female> may cover that case <Speech_Female> as well and <Speech_Female> as always if <Speech_Female> you have a particular <Speech_Female> case that you're interested <Speech_Female> in out of ireland. <Speech_Female> Please let us know <Speech_Female> we'd love <SpeakerChange> to <Speech_Female> take a look. Yeah <Speech_Female> i think we're <Speech_Female> you know we're we've expanded <Speech_Female> internationally. <Speech_Female> Acorn <Speech_Female> helped us do that. But i <Speech_Female> think we really enjoy doing <Speech_Female> that and covering cases from <Speech_Female> different areas now <Speech_Female> because the laws are so <Speech_Female> different and <Speech_Female> you know the procedures <Speech_Female> it makes you know <Speech_Female> we really get to learn <Speech_Female> a lot when we cover those <Speech_Female> types of cases. Yup <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> thanks again. "She said that she was molested sexually as a child and as a teen- on multiple occasions. And let me ask you is she bringing this. How is this relevant. Because she's trying to say. It made her hyper vigilant. Or i'm just wondering like this isn't a sentencing hearing but it might go to her state of mind out she. That's what i'm wondering like. Obviously it's not being used as a mitigating factor with sentencing. But it seems like to bring it up during well. Why don't i tell you what a psychologist testify. This might help you in some context because she was actually interviewed by psychologist for thirty seven hours over sixty period. You know a significant period of time and according to the psychologist he's shayna simply did not wanna grow up. She had separation anxiety and still slept in the same bed as her mother until she was a teenager. The psychologists also reported again several instances of sexual abuse from when shayna was young up until when she was a late teenager resulting in an inability to have healthy relationships with men and leading to promiscuity heavy drinking and other characteristics of borderline personality disorder and post traumatic stress disorder from being assaulted. Huber said that she was assaulted at a party in two thousand seven but never reported it and while we could not verify this. The timing of the incident seemed to have by accounts from other people coincided with a real shift in her behavior in particular that heavy drinking and promiscuity so certainly. I have no idea if her reports are accurate but the psychologist felt that she was victimized. And that and that's what i think they were using him to establish that she was a victim and these led to certain conditions. So even if she's not pleading insanity i think they're using this as part of her defense. Prosecutors used three felons this time who shared a cell with chain huber's they went to sesame miller but they also use donna duly and holly nevins and they each testified that shayna said that she killed the twenty nine year old lawyer because of their split because he was leaving her nevins testified that she overheard shayna on the phone with her mother. Saying ryan's family was rich enough to buy another son so that was just not very flattering quote. She would get on the phone and cry and sing to her. Mom and say there's worse crimes than murder. Duly said of huber's miller said huber's cackled as she talked in jail about ryan. There was no more she said and then she said i gave him the nose job he always wanted. She also couldn't read about that. You absolutely could have read about that. I mean again. Shayna broke down at a certain point during a recess. She broke into tears hugging one of her attorneys. This was the first time in really the only time that she showed a lot emotion during the trial and so that means nothing either way but it was just something to note because people would might ask about what was her affect during the trial and did certain things bother her prosecutors. Then brought in howard ryan who is the forensic expert on the case. Howard ryan testified that ryan postings head slumped towards the kitchen table. He was at from the first shot to his forehead. Ryan testified two more shots into his back came from less than three feet away as he was still seated and his body then fell and after that three more shots were fired into his torso at less than three feet away. This was the real damning evidence of the trial. It looks like an assassination. I think it was well. The jury agreed they once again found shayna guilty of murder and she was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. But you've got to wear census time..

"Shannon's defense team now had very hard task in front of them because they were trying to build a case for her being an abused woman. And again this is. The tactic used. jody arias trial. They were trying to build this case. That jodi was an abused woman as well. They had an email or to showing that ryan was angry and some text messages. That weren't very nice. I'd be angry too if somebody was sending me hundreds of text messages a day and not leaving my home absolutely Ryan was in a dispute with some business partners to so. I think that they pulled one or two of the emails about like a dispute and him being angry but honestly this. This evidence was very strong especially because he had a lot of character witnesses that described him as being a really good guy and it's also not fair to him because we often see a lot of times in cases. The tables are turned the way they will assassinate a woman. You know what happens to men to absolutely good point. Shayna did not take the stand at her trial which lasted for two weeks. After five hours of deliberation the jury found china guilty of murder. Four months later she was sentenced to forty years in prison with parole eligibility after twenty years served but the story does not end there. Amy why not. Well huber's appealed her case and was granted an appeal in two thousand sixteen due to juror misconduct. What misconduct you asking me. Well apparently one of the jurors lied about being a convicted felon which is a serious known. That is very bad. Yeah we always talk about appeals and they really are rare but you know germ misconduct seems to be one of the situations in which people are. Actually granted appeals. So this is round two now shane. A second trial began on august. Eighth two thousand eighteen once again. Her defense team tried to build a case around. Brian post and being an abusive boyfriend. This time however. Shanna took the stand in her trial. Yeah things got interesting there for sure. Shayna stated that there was a history of physical and verbal abuse from ryan. She testified that the relationship was sexually problematic because of her inability to fake an orgasm. Yes she said that she basically had problems in that area and that he would become very frustrated with her. I know she said in. Two thousand twelve ryan asked her for specific sexual request that she refused and she said if felt degrading..

"Were you sell to pay member. In the olden days you to pay for tax like five cents per incoming and if i censor outgoing or something. I didn't even think of that. She said was this two thousand twelve. Yeah no. I don't think he's not been really expensive though. But listen if you break down that math that averages on a low end and a low end about two hundred messages a day about fifteen hundred a week and six thousand a month. That's crazy that is obsessive style. And do we know what those texts would say. Does that come out also at trial it definitely does. Yeah i mean. Sometimes they were just her trying to get his attention. Hi there weren't you answering me. Ryan would rarely reply to her in fact to put it in a proper context on average for every one hundred texts shayna sent posted would send one in return so i mean that four guy. This is stalking behavior. This is stalking and this was also again. This is another reason. They compared it to jodi areas trial because remember. Jodi areas also stalked travis. There's a pattern to of escalation back to post in the night before he was shot. Ryan was watching. The vice presidential debate with his family had mentioned that earlier when his stepfather testified later on at trial. He said that he asked ryan. What's going on and ryan said dad. She won't leave me alone. She won't leave my home so she she was at his home and he wanted her to leave and she wouldn't leave his father said ryan. That's crazy that's your home. She needs to leave and he said during that night of the debate that he could hear ryan's phone ringing with tech messages all night long but he said that he was relieved because ryan had said that he was finished this was at he was moving on and ryan told shayna that he wanted her to leave any time to himself but shayna remember also was hacking his facebook so she also knew what was going on. Okay let's talk about of the evidence. Aside from what shayna stated during the interrogation and during her nine one one call and the evidence of obsessive behaviors. There was a lot of physical evidence that made it. Her story not plausible for example. She told police that she shot. Ryan in an act of self-defense. After he came at her during an argument and the evidence to refute this the apartment If you look at the scene she claimed that ryan threw her into a bookshelf or a display case of tobacco pipes..

"She'll search medication for left ventricular hypertrophy and right after. She sends a message to ryan saying that she had left ventricular hypertrophy and the medication. She was going to have to start taking for that. So yeah this is clearly an example of her making this up and trying to get attention and remember. This is the morning of the same evening. That ryan is going to have a big date on this night. He was supposed to meet with audrey. Balti- a runner up for miss ohio in the miss america pageant. Both audrey and ryan were super excited to meet. Investigators saw that huber's knew about this date because she hacked his facebook and she saw their messages back and forth planning date. And this is something that china did regularly hacking his accounts blocking women and really cyber stalking him. Amy so for a long time. Historically remember talking wasn't a crime stalking and harassment really became a crime or one with actual punishment in like the late eighties and early nineties. But there is no such thing as cyber stalking on the books until we actually had the expanse of internet and whatnot but it should be taken more seriously now and it was definitely for him. You know there were red flags here unfortunately with her behavior i think she was escalating in her stocking of him. And especially you know hacking and breaking into things. Audrey bolt he took the stand in the trial saying that the plans were set to meet a low key bar however posted never showed up nor did she hear from him again and she described being really upset because she thought that he was standing up and she couldn't believe it and they'd been so excited to meet so she also gave some key testimony later on shortly after ryan missed his date with audrey. Shayna huber is called nine one one claiming she had killed her boyfriend ryan posted. She had shot him six times with his own gun in his own home. When the police arrived she claimed self defense and she was then taken in for interrogation where she claimed that ryan was abusive and that she killed him because he was physically with her and he had pointed the gun at her first that day. The interrogation is something that everyone's gotta look up. This is one of the i. I think this is one of the reasons that people are so fascinated with this case. Shayna talked a lot during the interrogation and she was both irrational insensitive tubas. All over the place. I think she initially said i shouldn't talk without a lawyer but then went on to talk for hours and hours. Is she the one who did hand sans. We'll the interrogation area and so shane is behavior was so similar that actually these two cases are compared quite overtly. Yes so let me tell you about some of her behavior. She said things like will. Anyone wanna marry me now. If they know it killed my boyfriend to the investigator one of the most controversial thing she said was that she claimed that ryan.

"Today's case would be to introduce shayna huber's shayna michelle huber's was born on april eighth nineteen ninety one to sharon and robert huber's. I found very little about her relationship with her parents to see you know. But i did find that. Shane is mom a retired. Schoolteacher was very close with her daughter. Friends of shane's during her earlier years described her as incredibly smart and motivated academically but also very dramatic now. There are some claims that shayna may have suffered some early trauma. But i'd like to save that discussion for a later section of this case where it's more relevant. Now let's move on to talk about. How shayna and ryan poston met. Shayna had a long term goal to pursue a masters in school counseling and while studying psychology at the university of kentucky. Shayna met a guy through facebook name ryan posted now at the time. Huber's was nineteen and ryan was twenty eight. So there's a significant nine year age gap there which i think at the at the time. The stages of their life can be a little bit problematic so he's in his career and more developed and she's still an undergrad. And you know what i mean. So age gaps are always a problem. But i feel like that one might have well especially because it sounds like she might be mature for her age based on the way people described her right. Well very inciteful already. Amy like you said. He was well into his career. As an attorney. Walsh any huber's was still at undergraduate and still studying within an eighteen month dating period. The couple were on again off again with ryan seemingly trying to end the relationship on several occasions and shayna very clearly not interested in ending. Thanks once again. See how she's not mature enough for a relationship because most people would someone doesn't want to be with you. You can walk away from the and ryan's friends said that he was a really nice guy. They said he was too nice. He would back down from breaking up with shayna because he felt bad. And you know she will get really upset and then he would feel bad. He didn't even want to be the bad but on october. Eleven two thousand twelve while watching the presidential debate with his stepfather ryan told him that he was ending for good with china and he was excited about a big date. He had the next evening. Which would be the night of october twelfth early morning of october twelfth. Shayna huber texted ryan saying that. She had chest pains and went to the hospital. She was staying with post at the time and had left his house with her mother. Because of these supposed chest pains. She claimed that she underwent an ekg and she told posting about the medicine she was about to be put on even though there was no medical record ever her go into the hospital and according to her mother she did come pick up shayna and she seemed disturbed she said shane clearly seemed upset but they didn't go the hospital. Instead of going to the hospital they went shopping. Police assumed she made this up. Basically in order to get attention from post early. Yeah things i mean. Things weren't going well. They weren't trending well and it was almost like a test again. Not a mature nineteen year old. No and forensic investigator a friend. Investigator later testified. That wall shayna was alerting posting about her health condition. She was googling like high blood pressure. Heart disease symptoms the forensic investigators said and i quote for instance..

Doing some freelance work for a business coach I was doing some branding stuff for him some marketing, a lot of video production, and we were at the infusion soft conference that year it was two, thousand fourteen when it was in Phoenix and. We were kind of trying to make a big deal of his. How do you make a big deal out of business coaches booth, right? So we were running around with cameras and lights and big obnoxious and So many people kept coming up to me asking me about. For their businesses. And I kept hearing the same to pinpoints and it was either they had done. It was so expensive and they didn't see an Roi on five figures for one video right and they put it on Youtube one time and expected it to get a million heads. Or they had like their friends brother's nephew had movie and they did it on the cheap and didn't get anything out of it, and so I saw like a really big need for strategic video production for video marketing in general, and so I got really used to telling people know because they'd come to me and be like we want this massively long awesome video. Great. We are going to be like, no, because nobody cares about that. Let's get them to see content that gets them to care, and then also we'll tell them about who you are but. So in that whole. Capacity I ended up later doing a lot of video podcasts with clients. So we would you every month they come in studio with we'd sit him down. We'd interview and stuff and these little repurpose assets were part of that package, and so when I started to try to sell this video podcasting thing to existing podcasters, they'd be like we don't care about any of the other stuff we just want the assets like it you've made. The little square video mean with the captions and the whole thing we would throw our money at you and so I realized that that was not something that anybody just did like there's platforms you can get yourself that are awesome like headliner and stuff, and then there's like full-scale agencies where you're paying thousands and thousands of dollars for that in addition to other services. But nothing that was like a product is service that was niche. Niche Niche never really know which one it is. But so that's how kind of purpose house was born out of just seeing that there was a need afternoon after need and filling it. Could. After this knit. Niche. I got to know him for us at Jeffer- Gif Okay because that's a lot about you too. So Sake gift but I hear Jif but I just can't bring myself to use it. It is a millennial thing. Quite frankly because that terms been around forever and I know, I remember when I used to I used to say, say gift to my kids they like, what are you talking about like Oh that's what we call it. So. So I'm glad you started with video because. You know as you talk about on your website and I've talked about this for years you know content. finally realize we have to have it, but it's probably the hardest thing to create even even with the promise of such high Roi. and. So I've always told him a lot of times start with video just record a whole bunch of video because that's the easiest thing to repurpose you turn your. PODCAST you can turn it into a blog post if you want. So you know how I mean how you? How you approach just the the entire repurposing strategy. You know when you're talking to somebody because I mean obviously part of the promise of repurposing is you're GonNa get more for what you already got. So you know how do you look at that as a strategy for? So, for those who already have an existing well of content I like to dive into. Let's talk about the content that you have. You don't realize can be re purposed right. So blog post you can turn those into video. We'll take to one hundred words of a blog post. Make it a cool text motion style video those goal cast videos and then now that's an optimized video that's repurpose you send them back to your blog posts. So you hopefully Lee Jenner Ogden something there. But you can get like out of a good blog post at least three small repurpose assets for all of the social media channels with a good call to action. Also, you want to get them off of the social media platform.

Science, Interrupted - lives, loves, labs upended by COVID19

"Welcome to science friction on the Tash Mitchell and this is science interrupted and possibly radio interrupted because I have a puppy snoring very audibly and loudly at my fate right now working from home folks. It's tremendously difficult to think of not of not finishing the work. It's tremendously difficult booking with. Todd's is always a race against time as your money formation but the majority of the information are actually Mike. God really this pandemic has swift in Lancaster. Nami hasn't gotten caught us. All by complete surprise wherein collective state of shock really and for many scientists so much at stake use of experiments field work results. Clinical trials patients students the lives of lab animals the consequences for so many Deeply personal and in some cases could affect the lives of thousands of others and other species too so today on the show. Three scientists with three. Clemson's how are you? How are you going? Yeah yeah good bevy. What's been over and I met this morning by spin. Had this zone call with a bunch of other people from Perth and she was basically lap. Hold us on. He's a roller coaster. Look to Paula. Magni won fame lab Australia competition last year. And she's a senior lecturer in forensic science at Murdoch University in Perth at my husband across line pharmacist in Perth so possibly meeting people affected by Kobe. Nine hundred every single day but right now Paul easing Singapore where she also works as deputy dean of Murdoch University's campus there. Her baby daughter with her and Shayna husband don't know when they'll be able to be reunited. He was going to be concerned. Who are going to be concerned as well but this is probably the best option for the moment. We hope that these are going to be only for a while but for the moment it is what it is and not say his daughter for very many many months. Yeah so they can see each other only by by video call. That is a huge gift. Imagine these happening ten years ago or more could be better than years ago but the situation is changing. So much isn't it? It's still very unclear what's going to happen with international flights around the world. Yeah absolutely impossible to make any predictions at the moment. Also because Australia is getting way better especially Western Australia. Because he's very much aware from every everybody else. Singapore is experiencing a second important peak of cases compared to other countries. We are leaving this situation pretty pretty well. Syncopal learned a lot from this SARS situation and we didn't have many cases at all until a few weeks ago when they borders. Were going to be closed. Many people from all over the world wanted to come back to Singapore and they came back or seek your Italian and the saints. Coming out of Italy of Bain very very distressing during this pandemic rot from early on. What does that make food for you and your family in Italy? I speak with them every day and I make sure that they have everything they need. I've managed to the to do online shopping for them from Singapore to have them home. My grandmother she turned ninety seven last week. And the she's safe and sound in a healthcare facility but this is the first time in live in which he doesn't see my mom my Auntie for more than two days in a row and they edge facilities at being locked down so yeah. It's an interesting learning curve for for the family and there's also a big exercise Of Trust for the words day in the facilities Singapore has now gone into a lockdown and polar and colleagues having to move really fast to put their university courses online. She's also supporting students around the world with their projects now influx and Maija grant application processes of import on pause to then this Horon Research. You'll work as a forensic scientist into an expert on many crime scene investigations in Italy. You're now doing forensic science research here in Australia. And you shared this curious photo with me of what you describe as your babies back in the land in Perth in Western Australia. And it had me totally intrigued. What is it a fraud all? So my baby's baby Bob Nichols not people say barnacles as babies about Research I USED NICHOLS FOR CLEVELAND. Investigation when aboard US found in a in aquatic environments in the Ocean. So because bunny goes at annoying. They attach on anything that he's flogging. It is underwater and they stuck on that we can identify what they Ya. So where is the body confront? From how long the bodies in water and also the journey the talk the body from the primary campsie what was dumped in the ocean to the place where the body was found so they can be very interesting but it is not that to do this kind of research. We need to have colonies of Barnacles in in the lab so we keep having them in in Aquaria but the they eat small because Kobe algae so we had to grow the algae as well. You can now go to the supermarket and Buy Balaji and beside that. I work input on seeking to. Malaysia is whether it is the study of insects and we have colonies of flos is in as well is very difficult to keep up with them with the colonies at the moment when a when they laboratories have been shot because often of the issue that is going on. It's incredible work so you've got. These baby barnacles back in the lab in Perth. And will they die because the I guess? Barnacles barnacles one concern but there are labs all over the world with experimental animals of all shapes sizes and varieties and species from Retz to mice and onwards barnacles to that possibly going to be compromised or cold. Because of this global shutdown. I will say maybe the research would be compromised. The life of the of the animal is probably not because all the university have the ethical necessity of looking after all the animals that they have so all. The university have in place measures to look after all the animals in the different labs. I was a bit dramatic because I miss my babies. I guess when I think about my Banoco sometimes you feel like what he's the. Utd All my job in the big scheme in the big picture of things really for researchers. Like me probe's is a big wakeup call about the the importance of your search but at the same time that the world is big and many other things are important on a different scale. So I remember the first had with Bundy cars and the head. The mother of this guy that was found on the shore there was crying on this loss and I was the only personal gather information that could give a piece bring justice to this family bring closure to the victim so these another victim. He's not a cove in nineteen victim but my research he's

Why does the federal government provide comprehensive care to those with end stage renal disease but not to those with other life threatening illnesses?

"This is dr michael wilks with a second opinion in one thousand nine. Hundred sixty five medicare was enacted as a piece of social legislation to provide health care for all elderly as the legislation was being modified congress added one last minute amendment that provided care for all people with end stage kidney disease out of all the diseases for which the federal government could provide comprehensive care. Why did did they choose end stage. Kidney disease to cover will to understand this. We need to go back to the nineteen fifties. After world war two researchers in europe and the united states began to develop a machine that would function as an artificial kidney a process that would soon begin to be called dialysis <music> by the end of the nineteen sixties those with end stage renal disease who could afford it purchased this life prolonging treatment. The problem home was that few could afford it and it was not covered by private insurance in addition. There were not nearly enough dialysis machines for all those who needed treatment usually three to four times a week for life in one thousand nine hundred sixty to the dallas issue became front and center owner after shayna alexander journalist for life magazine published an article detailing how this new remarkable technology was is being rationed by a committee which decided who lived and who died based on a person's ability to pay the idea of rationing a scarce and expensive life-saving technology was abhorrent to american society of the nineteen sixties. The public press press the federal government for a response the v._a. Was the first to respond it opened thirty dallas centers for veterans but others had no no access to services and besides the federal government had no legal authority to pay for the care of other americans an expert committee that was convened recommended that the federal government start a national kidney treatment program because as they explained kidney failure failure was the only condition we're money separated people from life or death will in fact it was not the only condition but the concept had traction unfortunately at that time we're in the midst of the vietnam war and large amounts of non defense department money was scarce ears but several legislators both democrats and republicans pushed hard for coverage for stage kidney disease senator scoop jackson action from washington state learned at a close friends life was prolonged by dialysis and other constituents didn't have access to the same treatment so he pushed especially hard for some sort of universal coverage for several years in a row he introduced legislation nation until it finally passed in one thousand nine hundred seventy two so it has been since one thousand nine hundred seventy two that the federal government's medicare has cover for dallas's and transplant services for nearly all people at that time government and the public fills the moral cost of allowing the americans to dive a treatable condition was far greater than the actual cost of care now today we have so many clinically effective treatments including expensive medicines that are a matter of life and death and many are simply not available to the poor or even the middle. It'll class. What we seem to have lost is the bipartisan moral compass to tackle these difficult problems. This is dr michael wilks with as second opinion.
