"Yo! How's everyone doing? Welcome to another episode of Simply Bitcoin IRL. Today we have a very special guest and also I consider him his friend as well. We have the one, the only, the legendary Tone Vays. Before I bring him on stage, I want to give a shout out to the Bitcoin company that makes this show possible, SwanBitcoin.com. Best place to build your Bitcoin stack. It's being built by Bitcoiners. It's for Bitcoiners. Check them out. Check out SwanBitcoin.com today. All right. No more delay. Let's bring up the one, the only, legendary Tone Vays. How are you doing, Tone? Hey, Nico. How are you? Hope all is good. Yeah. How's life? Where are you these days? Because you're a globetrotter. Yeah. Well, I was out in Dubai for about three weeks hosting the financial summit and speaking at like five different conferences out there. October is really big in Dubai for God knows how many shitcoin events. Hopefully some Bitcoin events will be heading that way soon. At the moment, I'm in New York and I'm heading back to my home in Panama tomorrow. Actually, no way. Tomorrow I'll go. OK, OK, cool. Yeah, I was lucky enough. You invited me to Panama and it's absolutely incredible down there. I highly recommend anyone to make that that trek, that journey. It's I could see it becoming a citadel. Yeah, well, we got a couple of brewing. I think El Salvador will be a citadel a little earlier. It'll take a while for Panama to adopt Bitcoin, mostly because it's on the U.S. dollar. So it's fairly stable. Yeah, yeah, that's true. Anyway, so let's talk a little bit about your trip to Dubai. I've I had the pleasure of going to one of these your financial summits, the one in Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, I was working so I didn't get to I didn't get a chance to enjoy a lot of the things. But but it was absolutely beautiful. The hotel. My room was on the beach. I was on the water. There was poker nights. It was like educational type of stuff like that. So how was the one in Dubai and what is the financial summit for anyone who doesn't know? Yeah, so the one in Dubai was very similar to the one you attended over in Dominican Republic. After Dominican Republic, we did one out in Bali. And now we've done one in Dubai. Technically, it's Russell-Kaimah, not Dubai. You still fly into the Dubai airport. But Russell-Kaimah is another emirate like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, there's Sharjah, there's seven of them. The seven Emirates. We were in the Russell-Kaimah, which is out in the desert, a beautiful location. You know, half the job is kind of like a retreat for traders and money managers, along with other financial professionals, entrepreneurs, financial engineers, is designed for the higher net worth crowd. It is a $9,000 event, but it includes an insanely high end room. Usually it's your own villa. Dominican Republic was an exception because we rented a castle that had like 60 rooms in it. Some of those rooms were like ridiculous multi bedroom suites. And some of those rooms were a little more regular rooms. And it's usually between four or five nights, you get a bunch of financial people there to discuss trading and investing during the day. Our morning sessions are very health focused on longevity and just basically how to live longer. It's mostly longevity based and mindset based. And evenings are just fun. You know, we have a trading contest, we play some poker.

"At 7 45 here in London at its time to head to Dubai now as we find out what's been making headlines in the United Arab Emirates with Mustafa Al rawi, a journalist and assistant editor in chief at the national welcome back to the globalist and Mustafa. And first of all, something I was actually talking to monocles editor in chief Andrew tuck about yesterday, a Russian influx drives up rental prices in Dubai. Morning guy, how are you? Very, very good. But the question is, could I actually afford to rent in Dubai anymore? That is a good question. I think a lot of people are asking themselves that at the moment whether they're planning to move here, which is a lot of people, whether from Russia or elsewhere, also people who are living here. If we look at the data beyond the anecdotal evidence that I think we've all experienced and heard about, according to CBRE, in the year to February of this year, rents in Dubai have increased by 27.7%. So that's quite a rise in the 12 month period, which shows that there is a lot of froth in the market at the moment. And you mentioned Russians obviously since the Ukraine invasion in February of 2022, there was a lot of upheaval, a lot of Russians decided to leave Russia or other countries. And many settled here in the UAE, both in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and elsewhere. And that's clear. You can see that. Now I wonder if it's just Russians pushing up rents. I'm not sure that one group can do that on their own. Certainly, again, anecdotally, I'm hearing that people from all over the world, even the UK are looking to move here as well at the moment. And that's partly because there's instability, concerns, economic malaise elsewhere, while the UAE Dubai is looking pretty good at the moment, guys. Yeah, I know that Belgrade, which is on my usual patch in the western Balkans has been an influx of Russian people in Belgrade as well and anecdotally, as you say, the word is that rents have gone up considerably there. So I guess maybe I didn't know what the housing stock is like in Dubai Mustafa. Maybe there's supply and demand in the demands gone up in the supplies and that great. It's funny because not long ago it was the complete opposite. There was a lot of supply. And in fact, if you look at property prices in the last decade, the peak was around 2014. Even the property prices themselves have gone up as well. I think we've seen where the market has actually been even higher than it is now. And maybe we're heading that way to fresh decade peaks. But there is a lot of supply. There's a lot of building going on. I mean, it's interesting because yes, there's a lot of headlines around apartments and villas on the palm genera, for example, fetching tens, if not hundreds of millions. But also out in sort of the new suburban areas. You can pick up a villa for around 2 million their house at the moment as well. So there's a lot of opportunity for first time buyers as well as the mega wealthy that are coming here. It's quite in Dubai specifically. It's quite a deep market with lots of different options. And then you have a lot of spillover in the northern Emirates, for example, in Sharjah, where rents are a little bit cheaper, although there's a knock on effect. So it's a big, big marketplace. But again, if you want to live in sort of the center of Dubai, like in any major city around the world, you're seeing a big rise in costs. Let's go to a story in your own paper, the national president Sheik Muhammad names UAE vice president and crown prince of Abu Dhabi sounds like a big deal. It is a very big story. So Sheik Muhammad became president just under a year ago after his older brother chef halifa passed away and when he was appointed president in the federal system, of course he also became ruler of Abu Dhabi, when he became president there was a lot of question marks about what would happen for succession, going forward. This is a big topic in the gulf in general, not just in the UAE. And immediately after shake the hand became present, people started talking about who might be crown prince of Abu Dhabi. And Sheik Mansour bin Zayed, his younger brother, who has been appointed vice president of the UAE. The second vice president, along with the Dubai ruler and prime minister shake Muhammad bin Rashid, was kind of seen as a likely crowd prince. Also seen as a likely crown prince was Sheik Muhammad's shouldn't have been ziya's eldest son Sheik Khalid, who is also in this new has been appointed crown prince of Abu Dhabi. So for those listening to recap because I think this will be a lot of quite similar names, which will give you suddenly flooding upon me there. Exactly. So I'll explain it again. So we have an additional vice president of the UAE who is Sheik Mansour bin Zayed, who is the younger brother of Sheik Muhammad bin Zayed, the president of the country. So is also very well known as an investor as a businessman and owner of Manchester City football club. And then the other major appointment, there were other points, of course, but the other major one that everyone was looking to for the past year was who would be crown prince of Abu Dhabi and that is shake Muhammad bin Zayed's son Sheik Khaled. And that's an important appointment for succession going forward, but also for everybody understanding what the political landscape looks like and then there's obviously a connection with the economic landscape. This all encourages greater stability that these appointments have been resolved. And the interesting thing is that as Sheik Mansour being appointed as an additional vice president, he has a connection with Dubai. He's not just an Abu Dhabi big name. He's also married to the daughter of the ruler of Dubai, who's who was vice president as well on prime minister sheep Muhammad had been Rashid. So it kind of tightens the federation as well with this appointment. So it's very interesting and perhaps a little bit of a surprise because people thought the only appointment that was coming was crown prince, the only major one of Abu Dhabi. And now we've had two in the same evening. So a lot of people will be talking about that today. And just briefly Mustafa, we've also got a story in the national sultan Al naadi gets his first haircut in space, and as a proudly under the banner, UAE in space that you have. How many astronauts does the UAE have? What currently sultan on the Addy is the second astronaut in space. He's on a long-term mission at the International Space Station. I think it's for 6 months. But before that, the UAE already had its first astronaut. But it's part of a wider push on space, not just in terms of getting men out there, but there's a probe about to land on Mars or on its way to Mars. Sorry, there was a probe that went to Mars in orbit of Mars and we're about to have a lander on the moon. Very shortly as well. So very much the UAE wants to be at the forefront of space. But again, this is, this is a gulf wide thing in this region. Many of the other economies also want to push into space, looking for how it will improve technology, sustainability, economic sentiment as well. So a nice story for Satan and the he's been talking to students from space. He's now had his hair cut in space. He's keeping us posted on what life is like orbiting earth. So long haul airlines aren't enough for the UAE. You want to dominate space as well. Absolutely. Absolutely. Thank you very much for joining us. Mustafa Al rawi. "It's got a terrific record at Sheldon. Gordon Elliot has a 20% strike rate with the progeny of the 8th at cheltenham. And yeats's progeny have had 12 children winners in the last two years alone. So Don boyne would be strong for me and fontaine collage if given the go ahead. The only thing I'd add I totally agree with everything said that was a huge run last time. To refuse to race a few starts back. And again, it's a strange one. Overheard all he ran in big fields and didn't seem so bothered then funny that on his third chase start he refused to be refused to race and then seemed fine in a 7 runner race and 8 runner race. The hustling and buses start maybe put some off a bit and I just think the start to Kimura obviously he's got Jamie collie's got the best man on board. Just worry about what some of the other jockeys might be doing like if they're if Jamie called can't keep them out of the way if they're sort of bumping him and winding him up. It's a bit of a stretch, but there's every chance he could get quite wound up at the start and refused to race. I'm sure Jamie connell take him over on his own and just keep him nice and settled, but worth mentioning. Absolutely. Absolutely worth mentioning and very much something to bear in mind. We'll move on to the county hurdle. First handicap of goal cup day and the betting is currently headed. As my screen goes completely mad by fili bay. 5 to one shot with bed hunter's yarn, 9 to one, Sharjah has been well supported and has been a big talking horse in the preview circuit. Ten to one, best price you can get about charger with beta as we record disappears to be its target. Jin Koko is the same price and pembroke. Put up on this show by Paul Ferguson a couple of weeks ago as a confidence election for the skeletons, 8 to one. He's just been cut from tens with bed deck. All right, George, who do you like in the county Arnold? I'm not only a huge prizes here but I'm very keen on all some keen on. Jim coco is the first badly hampered first time by loose horse on two occasions. So one by four and a half lengths. Only the 11th from that race has gone on to win, though the third through sex have all been placed, lost nothing in defeat finishing second. I like to move it in a great wood. And I have a bit of a thing about that race. The first impression mark of gold and ingot have all come out in one sense. The way they bypass the hurdles in the straight that day massively favored frontrunners. I like to move it, especially in that race. I was obviously watching mark of gold with narrow land that race in the first time they came around and I thought he was going to get absolutely killed like there was no room for a field LUT sized grocery gap that went through. And obviously that's always going to benefit the horses in front because everything almost everything in behind is disadvantaged as you squeeze through the hurdles apart from all these out on his own and daylight. So I think you can mark that up a little bit. So I like to move it a lot first run them and just off base to that I'm off one three 5. If you think gene coco could have laid it up to I like to move it that day. One three 5 can be very, very lenient indeed. The other one, I think you'll like is Sharjah. Willie Mullins obviously has a strong hand in the champion hurdle with statement and vauban. So he doesn't need to go to go there and I'd say the defeat in the red mills at Lauren park probably sealed that he's going here. He's obviously ten. He's not as good as he was, but a mark of one 5 5s, ten pound below his career best. He's 5 time grade one winner and he's always saved his best for the festival. He's running three champion hurdles. He's been bought down in one and finished second in two. You'd have to have a big show if you can get anything like in each way about him. I just wonder. And I wouldn't put anybody off, but I just wonder if his time at the top has come and gone. But there's definitely an Arctic fire about him. He doesn't need to be his best. Listen, not only a bit of Arctic fire button, wick le brave was a younger horse, but there's a bit of a brave about him too. Just with the way he's been he's been going about his business. In this, if you look in the right place. Yeah. Did you see the first 7? No. No, I couldn't see him out of the first 5 with a mallet. Quite frankly. Yeah. I just wonder if he's not quite the horse he once was. This is the best opportunity he's going to have to win a race to show them. For sure. And Willie Mullins record in the county hurdle over the last few seasons is extraordinarily good. He has been tearing that race to shreds in the last few years. And 6 of the last 13 winners were trained bubbly moments. Thank you, Paul, Ferguson. And the weather be Sheldon festival betting guide. Use the promo code final 23 lower case.

"And doctor ravel. So you know, look, it was one of them sort of ran into a bit strange. But again, a good horse one, a good horse per second and a good artist to start, basically. But I kind of leave it at that. I kind of leave it at that. I couldn't see any trade trouble in the Georgia challenge, to be honest. That was my opinion. And that's not to say that doctor Babel is the one I would take under his doctor Brazil. He's the one that is most likely to improve and if he did rock up in supreme novice, he wouldn't be able to place it. However, I just think he's a small behind the weak side still is still a bit on punished. And yeah, potentially top class next year. So once we're watching out for the novice Chase's next season, it was a one two three for the doctor dino's. Phil door is literally half the age of Sharjah, and it was interesting to see Patrick Mullins having the ride on him, presumably that was with a view to riding him in the champion hurdle, but I don't know if you really want to go to the champion hurdle on the back of that Ron Barry. And no, he wouldn't like Dennis speaks highly about his horse doctor bravo, but yeah, and you're probably Dennis is probably really probably mind I mean, he didn't step on the race horse until December 2022. So yeah, you probably want to give him playing book charizard. Rich Richie has two horses that are what are they ten, 15, then it's better than on that one on the weekend and bourbon and that's not stable. You've won hearts only for Bond. It's an awful lot better than Sanchez. So I wouldn't go there. So sorry, but he doesn't really owe anybody anything at this stage to use a ten year old now. But it wasn't a weak race, but it's a great. You're right there. Exactly that now he's a ten year old. And the younger horses, they were good the other day. They just had that bit more legs than him. He looked to me like a horse that lacked the best. He didn't have the same. He ran like a ten year old. Does that make sense? Yeah, it does. Yeah, of course. And as I mentioned, he owes nobody nothing. He's given them plenty of good days. What's 6th grade one, I think? Yeah, 6th grade. He's won so there's no point. He's not going to win a champion hoarder. Let's be honest. Even if he's all the look on the world, he's not going to win a champion hurdle. So and you can keep him from maybe something that upon just stay on or something like that. I don't know, maybe he's probably still too high up in the handicap. I can't seem to have a chance. I'm not off the back of that one. But if I were to set a winner yeah, he sort of Dennis mentioned he lost confidence a bit over fences. He was a decent dual and horror prior to that. And what I see is entries for child number, they were in the tower runners on the article. So I think they might just pull stumps on the chase for a moment, probably won't go to jetliners and probably know more than me, but yeah, he's a classy old horsefield door and he was second three times to vote on. I think in his juvenile days last year, so yeah, his class animal got to see him get his confidence back. I'm sure

"And these little smart comments there at the start and make him eat humble pie, or it'll just be the usual thing Hannah and I'll have to eat the humble pie yet again. After he falls out the back of the telly, but I'm keeping the faith with the Jell-O for the 3 o'clock. We'll go to wing canton for the king well hurdle. Only four runners. Brian frost will get the ride for a Paul Nichols on napper's hill. 7 to four with beta as we record. I like to move it a hundred to 30 and then first street and global citizen are in there as well. We speak to Nico de boinville about forestry and potential cheltenham targets for him. You'll hear more about that on tomorrow's final furlong. 6 to four currently first street for James Bond Nikki Henderson with beta having been 5 to four, so a little bit uneasy in the market. It's well documented at this point mark just isn't the horse population in the UK and the high quality races. But we do have three very talented horses here and then a decent outsider in global citizen. First street Napa sale and I like to move it. They all took each other on against Marie's rock. The more we hear about her, the more it seems as though she's going for the stereo hardline, she'll go there with a massive chance. But with her out of the way, who is going to shine? Yeah, it's a tricky one, isn't it? Because we've only got four runners. There's the possibility of a falsely run race, what tends to happen, Hannah will quickly find out that when Napa's hill is running in a race, you tip Napa's hill and what did I like to move it is running in a race. I think I like to move it. And they were both behind for the street last time. Weren't they? But I'm keeping the faith. I'm going to sit with I like to move it. Regular listeners will know that. I've been very keen on this horse, sort of from the year I thought it was so impressive at cheltenham in November. For whatever reason, it just didn't work out last time at Shelton, stepping up to two and a half miles. I'm hoping the drop back to two miles here or an extended one mile, 7 furlongs will sure. I like to move it in a better way, but I'm not overly confident simply because it's a four in a race. And if it does end up because just a two or three film on sprinters, the character races anything can happen. Yeah, and that is a 100% right. Basically from the very start where you said, well, I always tip, I like to move it and me, I always tip nappers hill when they're racing. That's right, but also how you've summed up how this race is going to play out is absolutely spot on as well. Hannah, how do you see the king well hurdle developing? We're not exactly going to be emerging with the champion hurdle contender, constitutional hill will sleep soundly. But who do you think is going to take this prize? Who am I going to go away? Well, I am going with Napa's hill. I've been gosh, can't speak now. I've been a fan of this horse. I was really impressed with his run last time at wing Kant and you'd bet elite heard or last time we saw him, obviously Chapman, as you said, behind Marie's rock. Up in trip that time and I obviously, he wasn't I don't think he was performing at his best, and I think he can do much better than that. First time at Chapman, stiff up the hill. Could be a factor when I put a question mark by it, and I just think that being back at wing canton where he has got a good record. And at this trip, I think he's going to excel and I do think he will beat Nikki Henderson's first street who first obviously beaten up as hell last time. But with first grade, he was second behind statement at the festival last year. So we know first street is a good horse, but I just keep the faith with Napa's hill. I think he is a bit of a machine. And I think he's going to be a machine again at wing canton. I agree. Two from two, in a shock to Mark Milligan system. He's like, oh my God. Two from two with the truck. Two from two at the track. Tipping nappers hill shocker. I tell you, man, I was close to going for first street. I was real close to going for first street. Loves the ground, handles right handed undulating tracks. Sorry, we're right under flat tracks. He's got a pretty decent record on as well. And crucially, some of these horses have not performed at this time of year. He has. So I was leaning in that direction. He's too short. He's just too short at 64. And I think that Brazil is going to drift. We're getting 7 to four. It's not massively bigger, but it's bigger. And that run behind Marie's rock can't be right. It just can't be something wasn't quite right with him that day. Good grand suits. That was a lovely performance when bidding so royal at a track that he loves at a race that's so Roy loves. And that pursuit was too good for him. And we saw it so raw did at the drf. So I'm with you. And I think Brian frost will be in the winners enclosure for a big Saturday race. We'll switch to Ireland. I'm going to be at goren park for the red mills trial. Why do we not have prices? I don't know. But we'll just have to go as Sharjah. We'll definitely be a short press favorite for the red mills trial hurdle and takes a step back in class from grade one company chasing home statement on his last two starts, but easy quite the horse that he was. I'm not so sure. Mark Milligan, who do you think is going to take the red mill trial hurdle? Yeah, I think you're right with Sharjah. I think there's enough evidence for these two runs this season to say that he's not quite the

"You're listening to balance of power with David Westin on Bloomberg radio. Still to come this hour former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd joins me for his views on the tensions between the United States and China. But first, the job of being a state attorney general has always been a big one, but in recent weeks, it seems to be much bigger with so many pressing legal issues that are being handled at the state level. I talked to Minnesota attorney general Keith Ellison about the legal issues on his agenda and how he's dealing with election integrity. Well, in Minnesota, we have the highest voter turnout in the United States. We've had it for many years. It's not a one off it's a consistent thing. And it's because people believe that our election system is strong. They believe that it has integrity. They believe that their vote matters. And we also do a lot of things to make sure that that is true. Such as, same day voter registration that you don't have to have a reason to vote early. You can vote by mail. And all these things give us an advantage in trying to make sure that everybody participates. On the other hand, as attorney general, we've had some folks who threaten to come to our state to stand around polling sites with guns and I relying on Minnesota and federal law said if you do that, we're going to sue you. They entered into some consent decrees with me to make sure that they did not do that voter intimidation tactic. We are prepared to do that and more in the upcoming election. From the standpoint of election integrity, vote for whoever you want to vote for, but we won't tolerate people being intimidated at the polls. People are going to make an restrained free choice to vote for whoever they choose. That's what we believe in. Mister Sharjah, we saw a lot of litigation coming out of 2020 presidential election. Looking forward to the 2024 election now, putting aside for a moment the midterms. What can you do if anything to sort of anticipate that litigation to make sure that it doesn't upset an election? Well, we have a team, a scrutinizing these issues, and we are in touch with our partners around the country. We're making sure that we are challenging laws that are in violation of the Voting Rights Act and the U.S. Constitution and state constitutions were making sure that people are volunteering that young people are coming and getting involved. Look, elections are highly contested events these days. They always have been in America. That's not a bad thing. We want people to want to participate. But it's got to be fair. And we don't, we're not going to tolerate voter suppression efforts. And so we just got to be vigilant and alert and remember that it's a good thing. In a democratic society for people to vote. Another pressing legal issue is, of course, abortion with the Supreme Court has done decision basically saying it's up to the states to decide what's done. What is the status of abortion rights in Minnesota? And are there efforts to change that? Well, we are an island in Minnesota. You have the right to get a safe legal abortion, you have to go all the way to Illinois to find that again. So we are a state where women in Minnesota can get a safe legal abortion, but in Wisconsin, Iowa, north and South Dakota, and other states around us that right is restrained. And we are seeing an influx of people coming here to assert their constitutional rights in Minnesota. What I have said is that if any woman comes here to get an abortion, that if they are prosecuted in another state, we will intervene in that state to say that people can come to the camp travel right to travel and have a right to do what is legal to do in Minnesota that goes for providers in Minnesota and we will resist any extradition effort from any state when they tried to interfere in fear with people safe legal right to have an abortion under Minnesota law. Yes, it's being contested. We have an election in November. And Republican gubernatorial candidates, lieutenant governor candidates, my opponent and the attorney general's race are all threatening to deprive women of the right to an abortion. And we are stalwart and saying that, no, we're going to protect that right here. But so that's something for the voters to decide. Do they want a statewide elected officials who are going to protect their rights or do they want people who will take them away? I think people want to want their rights. Final issue here, mister John, that's law enforcement and efforts to reform so law enforcement. Obviously there were efforts made at the Congress. They did not go forward this year. What is the situation in Minnesota right now? It's going to reform of law enforcement. Let me tell you, I just want to say hats off to the men and women of law enforcement who protect folks every single day. They do a great service in the overwhelming number of them do that with honor and dignity. For the ones who don't say Derek Chauvin, for example, it is important that we reform the system. It's not a simple matter. Of course, we need accountability for people who violate the law who happen to wear a badge. But we also need to improve systems too, have been working with folks on this issue of mental health. A large number of people who are killed in deadly forcing counters with police are suffering in a mental health crisis. We need to be able to assist police departments by having things like joint responses by having more mental health services available to people. It is an overall reform effort, but I'm glad to say that it's on. I am still disappointing that we don't have a George Floyd justice and policing act passed. I do support that legislation and I hope that the Congress will support it as well one day. Thanks to Keith Ellison, attorney general of Minnesota. Coming up, former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd joins me for his

But we see it's not enough and that the same hour of Israeli or the the appeal of Israeli military know-how and Military expertise and Military Arms is still stronger than the voice of the way. People with common sense in the United States. While writing this study supports a cease-fire, he has demanded one of Netanyahu and has actively at the prevention did resolutions from getting past at the UN Security Council. What difference would that make? And can you talk about how this conflict serves Netanyahu wage is on trial for corruption could not form? Even a coalition government keeps him in power that it's in his interest, as he says to continue the bombing into the future. First of all, if we will be saved. So every minute is precious and this is off and we are all anxious for for for this to happen. And and and we all know that this we will mourn the the the people who this might be killed if it needs the the if the delay if there is a longer delay And he seems, I don't know, I mean, but certainly for for Netanyahu and for the right-wing in general the war and usually Wars I think benefit the right-wing, Waste Your Precious. Of course it it's completely erase the possibility that a different government will be formed you. It's brought closer together the different right wing sections that page for maybe had some some disagreement because of Natalia how? I don't know I you know some people some Israeli Jew, you say that, it was all calculated on the part of Nathaniel, I doubt it. Because the big picture is that it is in the, the whole Ramadan, the the Israeli policies in Jerusalem during the Ramadan, the repressive policies are all in the same. The same tread on the same logic that has been has been practicing for so long, which is to repress the Palestinians and to dislocate them forcibly and not only in Sharjah, we hear it. We hear about your life but so many Palestinian communities in the West Bank are in danger of being dislocated by Israeli authorities and have been dislocated forcibly off. So yes, but it has benefited the so far the Israeli right-wing Israeli, right wing, settlers. I mean, they're all right wing, but settlers from the, from the West Bank are joining the forces inside inside Forty-Eight inside Israel and intimidate, Palestinians, and, and Palestinian citizens of Israel and instigate. Clashes and attack them. Palestinians have done. Some Palestinian groups have also expressed their anger in different ways, including vandalism, but for different reasons because they they had to express their anger for about Israeli off. Season Israeli repression. So, so far it has benefited Nathaniel. We don't know how it will be in the longer run, but I I care less about Netanyahu. They care about about strengthening of the Israeli chauvinistic. And what I would say the force Israel that Advocate how they say the repetition of the nachbar. The repetition of a 48 expulsion who take this as an opportunity off. 2. To promote these policies of of ethnic cleansing. This is more worrying and so far, it seems that this is what is happening. It's not that there is, I learn the lesson of of of, of fear and of having their life disrupted and say. Okay, let's let's find political way to get out of it. It seems to me. I mean, from Ramallah. Hopefully, But I wanted to ask you is precisely about this. This issue is what we're seeing here is clearly in terms of within Israel itself or the Palestinian communities within Israel for the first time really expressing clear actions and solidarity with the the rest of the Palestinian people. You don't have a sense that that this is not giving making the the regular Israeli population, feel that it is untenable to continue on this. This oppression of the Palestinians in general, it will the long-term Israel cannot be victorious in this. and, I want to believe, but but so far from, maybe we are still. Maybe it's too early, but so far when I listen to the news and I must say that, I listen very little too easily news because it drives it can drive you mad. How? How one-sided? And Blind it is. But from the little that I understand that, I read and I see People still do not connect the dots, they do not connect it to 48 and they do to to nineteen Forty-Eight. They do not connect it to the ongoing settler colonialism in the West Bank. Mostly they do not connect it to the fact that Gaza has been under blockade and Siege and closure, not just for the last page. Fourteen years, people say, but since actually the beginning of the 1990s Israel, placed Gaza under the regime of very strict strict restrictions on movement. So still, I don't see that this awareness is Is strong enough. There must be something much stronger, like a, like an international intervention political intervention, economical. Intervention into brings More Bounce to the Israeli mind, that's my impression. Now, and I really hope I'm wrong. I really, I really hope that once this is over, Israelis will understand that this is not enabled. The refrigeration regime is untenable, but right now the attitude is is, is that Israel is being attacked, not vice versa. This is the main, the main message that I received from the little that I know I must say, because I, I, I'm here in the West Bank Amira. If you put out the book of your other Diary of bergen-belsen about the sole surviving Diary of a holocaust resistance fighter written from inside the Nazi concentration camps about your mother. Hannah Levy hush. Can you talk about what we're seeing on the streets in Israel now where you have Jewish mob attacking Palestinians in one case on live TV they thought the person was a Palestinian. In fact, they attacked a Jewish driver, but can you relate this back to? Because so much of this certainly, as it's conveyed in the US, media is always going back to the Holocaust and the persecution of the Jews. Honeysuckle the Perfect Champion at Cheltenham Festival 2021
"Question that's been asked to ask you as a broadcaster who has been to pretty much every major events in the world. And you've anchorage a loss of mainstream on terrestrial television in america but also you've covered pretty much every cheltenham festival in your career. What was it like would know crowd. Well we had had a year. I suppose of getting used to that crowd and even some pretty big events but it was right up there as very strange indeed because i think the restrictions of tightened here in the last couple of months before or they get loosened again restrictions tighter for children than perhaps they'd ever seen it at any major fixture at certain types it than they were at the breeders cup ties than it looked in in the middle east and an in australia so it was really odd him because cheltenham more than any other event is so contingent on on the crowds and provide atmosphere. It really was a an odd not experienced but by midway through the first after noon. I'd almost forgotten at one point. The crowd that i mean if you will if you're broke cussing racing. Cd audience as distinct from it audience. Perhaps you could say that. The crowd isn't as isn't as important. Because you're not going to be putting quite as much of that into the so Yeah bye-bye halfway through day one. My mind had been taken off it. But then there were moments that punctuated the week. Where you were. You reminded of quite stock again but still the the quality of this boat was outstanding when they ride the record books. They don't want to write the asterisk. That was crowd so it didn't seem to take the gloss off too much for henry bra. Gb buck and certainly an operational. Absolutely not i suppose. The top performance came day one and the champion hurdle the uni bet champion hurdle before the sponsors comes running after me with an ax honeysuckle and rachel block. More get back to back. Cheltenham festival wins another brilliant performance from henry de bromhead at cheltenham would last year's form kind of holding up sharjah. The runner up last year was second again. And the winner of last year's race epa ton with our new jockey. Aidan coleman finishing third. Nick what was your overall impression of of this year's champion your reaction as i watched was. I'm pretty sure it was is. The director came to you and said nick iran. I'm pretty sure you use went. Wow that's that kind of summed it up for all of us. I probably got a bit carried away in all honesty. But we do. Occasionally we do occasionally get a bit carried away and i. It was a completely genuine emotion. I wasn't trying to compensate dirty. Was i genuinely was blown away by so i tried to work out. Why subsequently i made some cloud landed comments that would probably verging toward hyperbole. And i think it's because of the way she finished her race off the way the the way in which she rounded the final almost on rails honeysuckle jumped the loss and then scampered up the running. And i left the impression of a performance of of of of otter total dominance on. I was staggered. By how well. She finished off the race now. Subsequent section now. The ray suggests that the reason for that was that they'd slowed the pace down. Because gordon was being a head banger. In the middle of the race they. The pace of the race had slackened significantly and really at turned into a test of speed and she was able to win like she was because as she was in grateful be. She's very very good. See she's got more than people thought she had. Indeed she was tactically. Well positioned biracial blackmore. But the the image the impression of scampering away from shahjahan episodes in a really good time the hill really good finishing split Just was just made me feel good and before you start talking about ratings and allowances where it sits in the pantheon ultime champion other. When is it just made me feel good. And i didn't think at that point they would be many. If any performance during the week to to eclipse i in terms of dominance and quality. How wrong i was

Apple is fixing its busted MacBook keyboards for free -- and maybe for good? (The 3:59, Ep. 563)
"The. Welcome to the fifty nine I'm Joanie Saltzman. I'm Shara Tipton. So Apple's butterflies switch keyboards, or Sharjah's, MAC, book would probably tie, but turf. Like. They're getting fixed again. Years of complaints that keys don't type or they type too much with letters, apple is making some of its biggest changes yet. It's making the replacement program free for basically everyone that has one of these malfunctioning keyboards, and it's changed the material that is using in the switch hopefully to avoid double typing letters to think that what's your instinct about a material change, actually fixing all the problems with this. Keep with. It's really hard to know because they won't tell us what the material is. So it's hard to evaluate whether this is gonna make a huge difference. I would guess that ultimately, they're going to have to completely redesign. This keyboard again. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Well, what do you think about the fact that the replacing all these keyboards Frey, how significant that really you know, it's with some caveats it's not like you can just go in and be like, hey, I have one of these old keyboards. Give me a different keyboard, right? It has to be if you're keyboard is malfunctioning? Right. So they say a lot of people are not seeing this issue. Hugh. But I've seen the issue other reviewers the Wall Street Journal and other places had seen the issues. So it's not just isolated. It does seem like quite a few people do see this issue, where in may double type letters or not type them at all or various other things. But you do have to have a problem with your keyboard, for it to be replaced, and it's only for a certain timeframe. So it's four years after you buy. Okay, which if you think about it, that's kind of the life of a computer anyway. Give or take a little bit. And they had they had I introduced this keyboard replacement program a year ago, but it was more limited in the number of computers that covered. And now, they're basically saying if you buy any of our computers, or you buy any of our brand new computers that we just announced yesterday and it malfunctions you can replace it. So the, you know, the kind of gives consumers a little bit peace of mind, because, you know that you can buy one of these, and if there's problems that can be fixed for free, but also it raises some questions about how confident they actually feel in this keyboard, right? If from the very get go of selling it, they're going to say, hey, you can replace it for free, right? So you think the writings on the wall, they're going to just have to totally redesign? I think they're going to have to do you have do win that could happen. I mean, it takes a couple years, I think to kind of completely redo this, but we don't know if they've started on this along time ago. What it was. We also don't know what computers. They're gonna look like frankly, you know, everybody's looking for ipads, and Macs to kind of merge, which apple has said they're not, but we. We, they're going to be making mobile apps work on max. And so they're kind of getting closer to that. So I mean who even knows weeds things are going to look like while the whole reason they did it was to make these thinner and lighter. I personally, I would take like another millimeter thickness to have a board set. Yeah. Next up Qualcomm, a US judge ruled today that the powerful chick chipmaker is in fact, too powerful in a ruling that agreed with the Federal Trade Commission. The judge said, Qualcomm, suppressed competitors, for wireless chips and exploited its dominance to chain charge unnecessary licensing fee. So in your coverage, you've said that, this basically means call comes going to have to change its entire business model. Yeah, yeah. So Qualcomm sells chips, but a huge part of their business licensing, their technology to handset makers, so they don't license to competitors, like Intel or media tech, they license based on the entire value of phone because. Their patents. Don't just cover the chip. They cover other things that maybe aren't covered in just the processor. So basically, this judge is saying they have to license chipmakers. It means they could be making a lot less on royalty fees. Anybody that they currently have a contract with that may have to be renegotiated. Right. So this could just have who huge implications for Qualcomm, and how they run their business. Do you think that ultimately, will it mean that devices that consumers are paying for will those prices, come down because something like this definitely not there is there's no way. Yeah. This sorry. I mean, we basically out in these trials that apple under the previous was paying Qualcomm seven dollars per phone. No way that Apple's going to shave off three dollars off each I phone because of the or an apple just reached a deal with Qualcomm last month and we're just seeing prices go up across the board. So this, there's no way, this is actually going to have any sort of impact for consumer, which is too bad because that is one of the. Things that the judge said, is that this ultimately hurt consumers and caused higher phone prices, but we're stuck with those prices? It's not even going to change it for the people. It's supposed to help. Yeah. Finally Oculus released its long way to quest headset yesterday. VR's been a victim of hype ever since base book bought Oculus for billions of dollars years ago, but it seems like people who have tried quest seem cautiously optimistic that this one might actually be what gets people normal humans interested in virtual reality.
