That's right of course that's a few ask. It's like trying to get a chimpanzee embarrassed. But i i am attempting to shame if there is if there is a human art left inside the shell. That is george w bush. There's a single flicker of humanity. I would like to summit so that i can shame it into repentance. We'll look for first of all john. We always were. Both of us are too clever by half. You're too clever by three quarters. What we need to do is very clearly. It's actually sickening and john. He went to shanksville pennsylvania to the field where flight ninety three crashed off to those brave brave men took it back from the territory. When nine eleven happened cut to play cup little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home. But then there's disdainful pluralism in their disregard for human life in their determination to defile national symbols. They are children of the same foul spirit and it is our continuing duty to confront them. America Has Abandoned the Women of Afghanistan
"Over the weekend if you watch the solemn proceedings and shanksville. Your concerns grew about the infirmity of president biden. And i believe that. Those concerns are now feeling concerns. The effort to get americans and afghans allies out of afghanistan will falter because it draws attention to the president. And they're doing everything they can to get attention off of the president. Do you think he's infirm. One eight hundred five two one two three four. I do not believe dementia. I do not believe alzheimer's. I just think he's very much evidencing. His almost seventy nine years and that this is hurting america. Badly the news out of afghanistan with terrible all weekend long that toledo's announced new rules for female students. The not going with the blue burqas. If you go to my twitter feed you'll see they're going with all black from head to toe with an slit covering the same thing that isis war. Republican Governors Infuriated by Biden's Vaccine Mandates
"The new vaccine mandates that president biden announced last week will affect about one hundred million americans all told and while it seems that many americans agree with the president. There's also been a significant backlash with some gop. Governors vowing legal action and other top republicans calling for a public uprising. Margaret talev is managing editor for politics. At axios hi margaret hi. How striking is this reaction. We've seen especially over the past few days from republicans. The republican governors in states like florida and states like texas. They're responding to the gop base that is strikingly on the side of the the freedom not to be vaccinated the freedom to work in a place where your boss can't tell you what to do and it is that question. Mark about the most vulnerable districts for democrats that is really driving this push by republican politicians to jump all over joe biden for these mandates. The argument is that it is an issue of personal freedom or of medical choice. Of course americans who aren't comfortable with taking a shot have the right to speak out against it and have the right to resist. The question is what's the breaking point between free speech. You know civil disobedience and a threat to the nation a threat to national security violation of the law right and former president bush compared those threats to national security that you're talking about with the terrorism that took place on nine eleven at an anniversary ceremony and shanksville pennsylvania on saturday little culture overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home. This is how 9 11 is being marked not just on the anniversary, but to the minute Of when the planes hit 9 11 and Remember, Ladies and gentlemen, as I do very clearly and why I devoted my life to conservative politics because I saw how quickly Democrats drop the facade of loving America of wanting to work together with Republicans to again blaming Republicans for allowing 9 11 to happen for committing the atrocities in the Middle East that so radicalized Islamists that they wanted to strike back against America. In other words, Democrats of 19 years ago were the exact same just slightly less radical in their politics, but every bit as vitriolic in their hatred and the rush to blame Republicans and America, white supremacy and colonialism writ large. For the 9 11 attacks. I tell the story often and I wish heaven help me. I wish I'm sure I could probably go back through my college records and find out who the professor Wass. But the day after 9 11, a Jesuit priest was my professor at Marquette University, 9 12. 2001. I was a sophomore junior. I was a junior in college. I was taking a philosophy class professor got up in front of the class and said by now I'm sure you all are aware of what happened. Yesterday. Now. I'd like us to take a moment. To discuss what America has done. That brought this attack on itself. I looked around as if to say. Does anybody else hear this nonsense? And I saw a number of my classmates nodding their head. Yes, Yes, America did bring this on itself. And I realized then as a 20 year old. That Holy cow! There are really people who believe this. That that 3000 At that time we thought upwards of 10 15,000 people were dead. The ultimate bad guy here was not the obvious terrorists and we knew instantly. At least almost instantly. That this was a terror attack. The really culprits were not the terrorist because the terrorists were just striking back. Sure, sure, sure, they're evil and all. But the really evil is America's misadventures in the Middle East dating all the way back. To the 19 seventies and eighties, and we need to explore the deep seated colonialism of America that is victimized people all over the world, and the only way that they could possibly strike back is and sure it's evil. It's don't get me wrong. It's evil. It's evil, evil. Let's explore the root causes. It was in that moment that I didn't know it at the time, but I became a conservative Republican. Sure I had voted for George W. Bush, and one of my first date says romantic as I am, was staying up with my now wife and watching the 2000 election returns. She had gone home, and I called her. Or maybe I sent an email. I don't remember. Wish. Oh my gosh. They uncalled, Florida. This race isn't over there, saying Bush won Florida holy cow! 20 years later, we're probably going to have our next big date watching the 2020 election returns. But it was on 9 11. And in the days and weeks after that, I recognized as I think a lot of Americans did. Just how vitriolic The American left. And even though socialism wasn't something they dare say publicly back then, as it is now it was the roots of this anti Americanism. That I think America was starting to see more on that coming up. Next. It's the Dan O'Donnell show classical conservatism.

Princeton headquarters which was the troop headquarters building for our troopers assigned to my unit and somebody came up stairs and told us that a plane just hit the World Trade Center and you know probably like most people we thought it might have been just a paper plane or something that was on the air space so by the time we walked downstairs into our lieutenants office the second plane had hit the tower we knew right then that this was not you know Piper playing that this was a terrorist attack immediately and what happened then what were you thinking then we're a country at war we've just been attacked and that was before we knew everything else is going on at the Pentagon and as things continue to escalate you know things got heightened even more when you arrived on the scene what did you say complete disbelief avoid was one standing there to to structure standing there and now they were nothing but rubble during the time you spend at ground zero did it ever cross your mind this could be unsafe because week after nine eleven the EPA I could remember this like it was yesterday the headline in the New York Post the EPA says the air is safe everyone now you were already there as a first responder but everyone else went back to work went back to school went back to their lives. did you at any point thank this is really not healthy down here you know at at that point I I know that thought never crossed my mind because we were being told quite often that everything's okay and you know obviously we were entrusting the folks that were there the doctors medical staff there what we're inhaling then what you're dealing with and what you were involved with as far as touching and you know cutting stealing climbing into voids in trying to do all types of different things you know that you know what never crossed my mind at the time because it was a mission in jail and that was hopefully to recover some folks and find some people you know on fourteen may have been buried so that thought never crossed my mind when it finally hit me was when I was given the news that for fifteen years or so I had this tumor growing inside me that now has metastasized because of the contaminants down to ground zero I am speaking with dead set in our he is the head of the Port Authority police department and he is the highest ranking first responder with the nine eleven cancers that has come public because there are a lot of other people who were elves and have not come forward you were diagnosed two and a half years ago with stage four cancer what were your symptoms I got a pain one day in my left side thought nothing of it so maybe I twisted something maybe you know a muscle just a sore muscle after a couple days the pain didn't subside and I knew was just at that point different than a normal stretcher or pain or strain or something like that I went to a doctor they sent me to emergency room dating xray than they did a cat scan and then they gave me the news of what had happened absolute disbelief that you know all this time has went on and I had no symptoms leading up to and then all of a sudden it hit me and it hit me hard and what it did to the inside of my body now I'm what I'm dealing with every day I've been lucky I've been health. in my entire life I was very active doing what I had to do and you know with the mindset that I had to you know always you'll be strong continue on fight fight fight and this was just an obstacle that now I've been confronted with that I have to continue on with and it's life impacting not because there's there's no hair hiding the fact that this is very very serious so I continue on every day doing my job and you know hopefully protecting men women of New York and New Jersey and the people that come through here and the men and women of the Port Authority police department so I'm very passionate about not only this because of with nine eleven in continue remembrance of the families in the sick folks that continue to come up each and every day myself included that we can never forget and that's the big and can never forget the sacrifice that everybody has made how do you live your life differently knowing you have stage four cancer you know that that's a great question because people ask me that all the time all the same why do you still work and why do you do this and you know a sense of normalcy there's a purpose and you know I consider myself very lucky to be in the position I'm in and to do something I'm very passionate about and you know I have good days and bad days but you know I persevered I keep pushing throw in you know I'm very optimistic that I can we'll continue on I'm doing very well right now with my treatments and you know I just continue on like you know put as much normalcy in my life as I can and we try to live one day at a time and not look too far forward but it is very very it's like faltering because the family knows you know there's only certain things I can do and I can't do right now for between fatigue in your treatments and things like that so we do the best we can to continue to move on as normal as possible are you scared more in shock of what I'm going through and the unknown of what's going to happen because what I have right now my. the cancer statistics are not favorable but I look at it as okay maybe I could be the one maybe I'm not one person that you know this treatment will you know help me and give me long jeopardy in my life and that's what I I look at longevity in my life and quality of life are you angry or do you have regrets about doing what you did at ground zero never never date was you know wouldn't change anything would not change that as you know as a police officer as a state trooper at the time and as an American that was my job that's what I was trained to do and I was sent over there to do a mission and I led a group of men over there that you know we went in there we knew our capabilities as having rescue personnel what we had to do and anytime anybody asked me a question my emphatic answers now yes am I going to pay the price absolutely I'm gonna pay the price probably sooner than I would have expected but yes every single first responder I talk to says to me now and this is changed over the years because I've been talking about this issue for ten eleven years it's not a question of if I will get ill it's a question of when I will get ill and they are great fall if it's only a respiratory illness or if it's only a digestive issue because everyone who was there feels like you're looking over their shoulders thinking that cancer is coming along and and what's so scary is that I'm hearing your story over and over again that. at the time of diagnosis it's already stage for these nine eleven cancers are cancers on steroids statistics correct me if I'm wrong. there are currently two twenty two hundred Port Authority police officers. there are two thousand Port Authority police officers both retired and current who are currently ailing from nine eleven illnesses yes that's in this downloading figure and I hear the same thing from the New York police department and the FDNY the fire department of New York it's astounding number and like the numbers you said you know the Port Authority is charged with protecting obviously the World Trade Center that's responsibility of our police department and the men and women that both right now active and retired that were there during the nine eleven as you said the numbers keep growing and you know we've lost several more since that day the police department unfortunately holds the record of losing thirty seven officers in one day that's a record no police department ever wants to have and you know unfortunately folks as they continue to move on with their disease or whatever their illnesses you know we're starting to face more more people that are reaching you know their demise but the support network things that you do things that you know Jon Stewart is done just unbelievable what people do for us and we cannot thank them enough for reminding people that there are still hundreds of thousands of people out there that are very sick as a.
