Yeah, let's see. So they They have been in the neighborhood for a while, right? Yeah, they? Yeah, they've been They say it's about a 20 minute walk. So, uh, you know, just the neighborhood next door, but, uh, they basically said, you know, it just wasn't the current site wasn't suited for the way the business is now they needed a little bit more kitchen space so that they're now building it out, too. Three times. Actually, it's Vegas. The kitchen spot. It's gonna have a little bit more focused on take out on delivery as well, Obviously to adjust to the times, But, you know, I think the real plum of moving this location is once we do. Get through this. Once the music box reopens. They're gonna have a lot of nightlife on that little stretch there. If people are familiar with it s Oh, they're gonna expand that to a dinner menu as well to cater to the Folks in the neighborhood there as well. The folks going to the music box so all their old favorites will be on the menu. They're not going to be shut down. It's gonna be there opened for the second week of February to actually move into the new spot, so it it's exciting. And you know, we're always we're always happy to see prohibited places that I found a way to thrive and even grow. Despite doing all this carry out and delivery only Can't wait to head up there for a movie and matzo ball. And this is a story that is really nice. Once again. They were being stored at a closed school in the Bronzeville neighbor. Good and they're in the process of moving them to a to a warehouse to get ready for the distribution. It's someone or some people broke into the clothes elementary school and made off with most of the stuff, including about $40,000 worth of these donated brand new shoes, So it's a real shame. The group's name was saved. Money saved life, and they put the word out and one of their big supporters Chicago rapper Vic MENSA, who Said. Always in the news, doing good things for the city. He stepped up. He's organized a fund raiser. Um, it's online right now, and they're trying to get $10,000 to really get back. A lot of these supplies. Among the missing items were 300 kids coats. A swell is other hats and scarves and gloves. So Vic MENSA started this Don a fundraising campaign platform called Lift Cause there's linked to it at Black Club Chicago dot or g'kar, but he's trying to get $10,000 and I just checked before we went on. And he said about 8000, so people are really coming together, Tonto, right a wrong here and then re stack this this warehouse so they can do the distribution like they planned. That's great Block club should go dot org's for more on that. And finally, we have an interesting Chicago history story about Edgewater Hospital. Talk about this famous right. You know, I drive by at the old Edgewater Hospital lot, and and I, too, have wondered, you know what the heck is going on? There? It was. It was once they really fancy. If it could be a fancy hospital, this was it. This is in the Edgewater neighborhood right there. A National avenue. It opened in the in the twenties. It was head of the beautiful Salieri. Um, they said Frank Sinatra used to hang out there back in the Edgewater Hotel days as well. Um, but it's really had gone into disrepair after its original founder had died. It got to the point where there were some huge medical fraud going on there as well. In the in the late nineties, some of the Owners of the place and the go to jail. They're doing unnecessary experiments on people experiencing homelessness. So it was really turned in the house of horrors that closed down and then, um It. You know, it went into such strange disrepair. People used to sneak in there and take pictures. And we've got some of those on our site as well. And true House, of course, But local couple like me was wondering, you know about the history of this place. So they launched the podcast just on Sunday. Uh, then it's gonna be they're gonna have about seven different episodes coming out. I'm sorry 11 episodes coming out every Sunday. If you just Google. If the walls could talk, you'll be able to find it. There's also links to it on our site, but it's really a fascinating look at just how a sort of a staple of the community could could go downhill so fast, Um, some of it still standing there. Yeah, and you know, and it is mostly seniors that are out there waiting. So I think there was some concern about that. You know the fact that there Bundling up spending the night overnight. So in Florida, and I understand nationwide, it's kind of you know, County by county state by state on how all of this runs out. But is there not guidance from the CDC, FDA Operation works Peter or any other agency on how to schedule the vaccine roll out so you don't run into these, You know black Friday type lines from what I understand they gave guidance on who should receive priority in getting the vaccine, But they kind of left the distribution up to the states and the counties to handle. So the states would say these are the places that should get, um don't says, And then it essentially was left to those places. You know the counties and the hospitals. See, you know, health systems, too. Kind of caught up with their own plan on how to actually get it out to people and I've seen on Twitter people, at least in the UK they post screenshots of the text message they get from their health agency and like a like a restaurant reservation, you know, here's your time. Tell us if you can't make it, But what's the strategy here in the states? And what what kind of resource is do? We all need to be plugged into before we actually Get a chance to get our shot, so it really comes down to where you live. There's been a huge range in how this information is being communicated. There are, you know places where the health Department is kind of listing information and sign up sheets on Facebook. Sometimes without a lot of events notice going out about that. There are places that are doing kind of what you talked about where you can get onto a list and get a text message that tells you where to go. When you go. That's something that I think New Mexico is doing. But in other places they haven't said how they're going to do this once they expand the vaccine beyond you know, first priority health care workers so It's almost a matter of calling your local health department in trying to figure out what their plans are. Japan confirms its scrapping US missile defense system

Seattle City Council bans chokeholds, police use of crowd control weapons

Seattle City Council sends proposal for tax on big businesses to its budget committee
"Supporters of a proposed Seattle tax on big business using the pandemic there was reason to justify it como's man market which has more on their efforts it's been two years since the head tax bill now one new proposal has a corona virus twist and now we're staring down the barrel of an unprecedented unemployment crisis that will leave many Seattle families with no income no food and no ability to pay for food so council members Tammy moralis and Shamus one are asking the council to pass a tax on the city's top two percent of companies immediately and only taxing the largest and the most profitable corporations corporations that are making money even during this dynamic so that we are able to immediately find two hundred million dollars worth of gold in nineteen relief the money would go to one hundred thousand low income households in Seattle each would get for five hundred dollar checks over a period of four months starting as soon as next month says so what but one member during the virtual media accused supporters of of bad bad timing timing this this type type of of politics politics in in the the midst midst of of a a lethal lethal pandemic pandemic to to me me is is unacceptable unacceptable in in a a waste waste of of time time it's it's a a tax tax into into mine mine and and showed showed up up at at city city hall hall I am extremely concerned that we're shutting down open government he did not realize by the order of the governor council meetings are now virtual no public testimony still doesn't like the tax it is only making a bad situation dramatically worse on a second front the tax Amazon movement launched an online signature gathering drive to get the tax in front of Seattle voters in November if it does not pass the council it would raise three hundred million dollars with seventy five percent going towards social housing and the remaining twenty five percent to green new deal programs

Vitamin E now a focus of the investigation into some vaping illnesses
"Story state and federal health officials have been investigating mysterious long illnesses linked to vaping the new update is that vitamin E. acetate is the focus of this investigation it's being found in high levels in samples that were tested that contain cannabis not in nicotine vaping products but the investigation still continues for more on this we spoke to Kristen Jordan Shamus she's a writer at the Detroit Free Press for that and also the first in the nation band on sales of flavored vape products in Michigan one day governor Gretchen Witmer announced in Michigan and emergency administrative rule based on the findings of the state department of health and Human Services which found that E. cigarette use and high schoolers had risen seventy eight percent from two thousand seventeen to two thousand eighteen and forty eight percent in middle schoolers and her concern and their health and safety and she said that a lot of the rape products in the E. cigarette products are marketed to kids Michigan already have a law that bans the sale of these products to people under the age of eighteen but the findings show that they're still using using those products yeah so everything's going to be eliminated all online and retail sailor sales of flavored vape products with the exception of tobacco flavored E. cigarettes. there how is this going to be implemented because I I saw that this only going to be a six month ban at first and then it can be renewed for another six months. the temporary ban and it's an emergency action and it'll be filed with the state department the secretary of state's office and once it's filed with the secretary of state's office which should happen in the next few weeks the battle become immediate for the last six months and then the governor may choose to renew it after another six months do you know why I was just six months are they trying to like you see if there's any change that happens it's a pretty short amount of time. it is a short amount of time but I think it's because it's this administrative rule isn't something that's going to the legislature is something that's been voted on and approved it that action is being taken from the highest office in the state now we've been hearing about the stories we've had two deaths related to this so far one in Illinois and then one in order again where they did say that it was because the person was smoking marijuana they products in Michigan specifically there's six lung infections that are being tied to vaping right now what we know about these cases. we don't know a whole lot about them the state department of health and Human Services joining with the national agencies to investigate no sex case and we know that all six people in Michigan were hospitalized they were all critically ill and they haven't been able to really pinpoint at least in Michigan Michigan cases one common cause might be. that's part of the whole problem with this that it's so difficult to really pinpoint what it is alot of people have pointed to the flavorings in these products because while they're safe for consumption human consumption we don't know the effects once they're Eris allies and inhaled the Washington post's just had a report out and this proves how complicated this is they have narrowed down on one contaminant they think that is in the Meryl one of the products specifically doesn't have doesn't even have to do with the E. cigarette ones and it's a derivative of vitamin E. vitamin E. acetate and it's was found in a lot of these samples that were taken from people that got sick and that we had reported having all of these you know this new lung disease out what we're looking into and it just proves how complicated is because we're working with two different things nicotine E. cigarettes and marijuana vape pen and it is pretty tricky to I mean they're just starting to research these things these products are relatively new and they haven't had the rigorous testing that a lot of other products have had that are on the market and the science just isn't there a doctor I spoke with yesterday was saying you know it takes decades worth of research to really have an idea of what the impact our long term of using these products and with the same with this season weren't where it really won't know for so long and we're barely starting to study it's really just coming to head with all this the other angle of this is with this band that's gonna go happened there in Michigan a lot is the small business owners vape shop owners are worried that they could lose their business a lot of them say you know just these they products themselves are about twenty percent of their businesses actually there are some that only sell the products and arguably they'll
