"20% is immediate feedback, like right after the shift, what I have a training shift, we sit down, we talk about what went right, what went wrong, I give them some tools, we go over tools, we review, I ask questions, they ask questions, and we have this really kind of interactive training session. Like almost like a post a post shift. And then 10% of your training program should be online reinforcement. You should have some kind of online training portal where people can go in and learn and relearn. I mean, there's people on your team that know every lyric to every Shakira song in the world. And they didn't do it just from listening to a song one time. They learned those lyrics from listening to the songs over and over and over and over again till they understood the lyrics and know the lyrics by heart. Same thing with our training, repetition is the mother of learning. Hashtag write that down, repetition is the mother of learning. You got to have some kind of format that they can go and watch a video, some kind of trading video of the process over and over and over and over again until they get it down. I have a great saying I tell all my clients, we never train them until they get it right. We train people to get it wrong. Train people till they can't get it wrong, train the bad habits out of them. That's what you got to do. So interviewing interviewing is basically getting the right people and getting the right people is critical. So let's jump into today. I want to talk about the three traits of team players. The common mythology or mistake most restaurants make is we put people together and I would ask you right now and just go ahead and type in the chat if you can. What do you call the people that work with you? Do you call them the staff? Do you call them the employees, do you call them the idiots? You call them the team. What do you call the people that work with you? Go ahead. Go ahead. Type in the chat. What do you call the people that work with you? I'm always shocked when people say this. I actually know some people that call them the idiots, you know. I had one client. He didn't do it very long. But he used to call his team. He used to call his team the children. And I said, do you understand that words are very powerful and the words that you use tend to kind of dictate how you treat them? So a lot of times I'll go to restaurants and work with my clients, especially my accelerator program or my higher end coaching programs. I'll go to their restaurants and I work one on one with their team. A lot of times I listen to the words that your team says and I'm listening to the words that you say. One of my kind of red flags is when I hear team members calling the owner boss. Hey, boss.

"Anita and George Shakira's, says Bernardo. The 2021 adaptation of West Side Story, directed by Steven Spielberg is set for release Aunt December 10th after a delay due to Covid 19. Speaking of Steven Spielberg. In 1999 President Bill Clinton commissioned the director to create a multimedia presentation called the Unfinished Journey that was to be premiered at the Lincoln Memorial. I'm New Year's Eve Spielberg then engaged His longtime friend and collaborator, John Williams to composes six part piece as soundtrack for the event. The result is the extraordinary orchestral suite. American Journey. Yeah, I first ran across this piece when I bought a C D. I think some of us still remember CDs of Olympic music and this was kind of embedded in the middle and I fell off my chair. I just thought I've never heard any of this before. I thought I was up on all my John Williams tunes, but it's a Amazing and entertaining music. That sounds very John Williams E. But a lot of us just haven't encountered. Uh, I guess I would put it in the category of documentary, You know, non non film soundtracks. But you hear all that exciting, rhythmic motion that we get used to, with John Williams, powerful brass and really wonderfully descriptive, sparkly orchestrations. In this case, we hear a section from American journey called Immigration and Building. Movement. Five of American Journey by John Williams is called civil rights and the Women's Movement, and it uses gospel language with a very prominent piano line in this symphonic setting. This is clearly the music of forward moving progress. We've come a long way, but we still all of us have a lot to do. "You know what i mean is not just like dawn everywhere. This is just the theme of the video. You know and so ages just looks different than what the other girls are doing is not super launch. It's feminine. It's a little sexy but it's not just raunchy ranking this. You know so. I appreciate that in sheep with this video out at the time when all the other artists are just showing booty. There's no point to their music videos right now but to show them chinks like that's it and i'm just like where's the song by you didn't want show cheats. If that's what you wanna do. I'm just not so she cure is still being who she is like. She's not showing me something different than which already shown you know. She's still doing our little belly dancing stuff. She's still rocking. she still has her own vibe. Going on she's staying true to who she is as an artist regardless of what's going on around her and i think that's cool and i think that once a woman finds her space how to show her fishermen in any how to you know be who she is. I think once you mind and takes long time. Stay true to it. Don't just start. Changing yourself is one thing to sell improve. Yes but that's very different than copying which you see other girls doing just the copy. Because that's what they're doing they're getting you know lights than and downloads. Let me do that. No look at her. She looks beautiful. You know she's got legs out with the bresser cover. You know something is going on. That is like okay. This isn't too much. You get the idea but is not over the top and i appreciate that secure like look. I don't care what them girls doing. I'm doing me. She's still being shakira. She's not trying to be like you know these other girls. You just yeah. I don't want to say too many names in. Just 'cause i don't i don't really care that much about celebrities like that on because those other girls to my knowledge they don't even have any philanthropy organization so again that's the only reason why i'm talking about security because she's not just an entertainer she's also a philanthropist. And that is really what resonates with me and then it's like oh this adding feature that. Wow she is also this awesome recording artists. so for me those are the big things now takeaways. so there are some musicians that Follow enlisted here on podcast. Thank you so much. I just want to kind of highlight some of the things that i think as musician it could be like cool to kind of understand what should cure is doing and kind of figure out your own path from for example right so the main thing that she's doing is it took her awhile but she found her own voice and her own unique skill set. That makes her different than everybody else. So if you're an artist by fine something that makes you different present yourself in a different way than what everybody else is doing. The other thing like she's doing is which we just kinda summed up. Is she not doing the copycatting there. Basically is like ten artists are right now. They are serving up the same thing as a different voice in a different be. What is the same booty out breasts out no rhyme or reason to the song you know just and secure is just giving you something a little bit deeper on. It's more of like emotional. They with her music. It's more of a cultural celebration. Which i love the fact. She likes all these different cultures. 'cause i really enjoy learning about other people's culture too. So she gives you that she gives you originality she gives you a completely different sound With her vocals so those are all things if you are recording artists that you want to kind of remember okay. So the other thing that she's doing that a lot of the other artists are not doing is she is a lancer pissed. So she's doing good things. She's using her popularity and her money to help people and you might not be as popular for doing that which you will have people who will always be in your corner because they see the whole picture view is a i in these other. Girls were just showing their bodies breasts. Budi everything else. They'll be a transfer minute and be gone by by because once that heartbeat is gone. Then what else. They got to stand on. So when she's not doing her you know music she's working with philanthropy and those are things that people really connect with and we'll keep her relevant and successful longer than the other things and on top of it. It's film it like we should want to do. Good things for people you know and you should want to connect with people who want to do good things for people so it's great you know just making music and being a musician but if you can add that extra rare of being a for lander pissed on top of it. I really think that that's something that people really resonate with the right people have to appeal to everybody. You know But the people who deep down in their hearts care for people when they see that you care for people to that will resonate with them and they. They will really connect with you of that all right guys. We talked about a lot of things about secure in this episode. And i hope that has been informative and interesting and i hope he learned a couple different things about her that maybe he did not know and I hope that this episode is also encourage you to kind of evaluate your own Journey as artists. If you're recording artists or different types of artists or a business professional and take some of the things that should cure has done the fact that she has been like one of those artists that is totally different in totally unique. But she's been able to put together a cohesive picture and still be successful. All right guys thank you so much religion into how they did and why have a great day and we'll see in the next episode..

The Weeknd will perform live at the Super Bowl LV halftime show

"We have our super bowl. Halftime performer is officially the weekend. He'll be performing at the super bowl this year. It's all very interesting to be honest. I can't even forgot about like i know. Football season is happening. i've talked about. I have a football podcast. I talked about it every week but the super bowl halftime show Was something. I wasn't thinking about just because concerts have been cancelled and we haven't seen any really live shows so it took me by surprise i was like. Oh wow. that's something that is that is still happening. But the weekend is ultra ultra ultra talented. And he'll find like a way to make this very cool. I'm sure all of his performances are insane. He does a phenomenal job. Every single time he gets up on stage at an award show or whatever it is he really puts in a lot of effort and really makes a statement and makes people think with his performances. Which i think is going to be really cool for the super bowl obviously shakira and j. last year and everybody was excited for that. They were shaking their asses up on stage singing controversially. Yeah some people were pissed but let me tell you we were loving us not definitely not at all. I support that one hundred percent. And they were up there looking. Fantastic jalen shakira. How can you not be excited about that. So i feel like the weekend is going to have a little bit of a different reaction. Just because i feel like older people do know jaylo and shakira. More than they know the weekend i be like younger. People know the weekend a bit better than older people do so it will be interesting to see the reaction but i know that he's gonna put on a fantastic performance like weekend his grade. He's super talented. Has major hits bangers and people are going to be having sex immediately after they're just going to be so turned on from the weekends performance that yeah they're going to be banging after the he's he i. It is going to be funny to see the older generation reaction. Because i think that if people are not familiar with the weekend they're gonna watch this performance which i'm which i'm sure is going to be incredible and like just theatrically very very cool and we're gonna see tweets from older people being like wow great performance from the weekend like spelled actualize the weekends or four saturday and sunday able exactly. But it'll be it'll be a good one. I'm i think they are having people at the super bowl or smaller. Small capacity like the super bowl in tampa bay's so people are at tampa bay games right now like you can go to a bucks game so i think it would feel the same kind of thing like anything could change like a few months. Oh turn hundred percent. The everything's changing rapidly where we are right now so who knows what could happen by the time. This goes down but it is also florida. So we'll we'll have to wait and see. They definitely make some changes. Whatever the weekend does will be geared for television. He'll they won't be able to have all the people run out onto the field with signs or lights or anything. It's going to have to be mostly geared for a television performance.

"Both Ian and Jody. You're here. We could talk a little sports in just a second. But maybe something very close to sports. I guess that'll be Halftime at the Super Bowl coming up in in Tampa, and the weekend has been selected to be the big entertainment. What do you think? He interview? A. You think the weekend is a is a good choice. You know, we can't. I mean, I like the weekend, but that seems like a pretty big step down for me for the Super Bowl. I mean, you went from Jennifer Lopez and Shakira who are established names for quite a while to a guy, he said. Some hits don't get me wrong, but they've all been over like the last three or four years.

"I'm Katherine Foreman and I'm neal learns and today we are bringing you breaking our format. Our usual format our new usual format a little bit kneel at we have the opportunity to sit down with the General Chair and senior program chair or this year's interruption of the international conference on learning representations I clear which was entirely virtual this year Alexander Rush of Cornell and Shakira Muhammad of deep. Mind thank you so much for joining us today. I really appreciate it off. Excellent Catherine great to be here. I'd love to do a little bit of background on. I clear I just sort of like mainly to give us a sort of a context for the conference in in the ecosystem of other conferences. WanNa know how did the conference get to where it is today? Yes thank you neil. That sounds like a very good question. How the conference get to where it is today. This year was already breaking ground. It was going to be taking place in Ethiopia which I think is the first time any of the large conferences have been held on the African continent But then all of a sudden we had this massive global change and it was decided that the conference would take place entirely. Virtually so Sasha. I'd love to hear from you a little bit more about how you see. I clear fitting into the larger system of conferences. And what your experience with. It's been and how this change took place shore so this was the eighth international conference of learning representations but it was run as a workshop for several years so it started in two thousand thirteen. And I think what's remarkable about the conference it's been experiencing exponential growth for the last basically for its entire history and so it's a conference where everyone is kind of a newcomer each year. We have most people kind of experiencing it for their first time. I think personally I didn't really attend. I clear till about three or four years ago and I was coming from it from the natural language processing community so conferences like ACL P that she makes up a relatively large part of kind of this multi disciplinary area. It's a conference. That kind of welcomes a large group of people doing different forms of representation learning and deep learning and things of that form I think it differs from some of the other machine learning conferences in that. It's a bit more experimental. I think a lot of people know it for its experimental reviewing format and for the structure of how it's laid out and I think one of the reasons it was so interesting to work on is because it's a conference that kind of allows for more experimentation in its format in its structure and we took that to heart in both the venue this year and also in kind of change to the virtual conference format. So this sort of like the experimental stuff it does on its own. It was the first to open reviewing. And then there's the experimental stuff that's forced upon it so. I find so amazing. What you had to do this year is first of all you were taking a major conference to the African continent for the first time which was a major undertaking in itself. And then you had to cancel the first major conference on the African continent. Tell us how how I don't know who's best to sort of speak to that. She cared. Do you want to tell us how that came about? And how you reacted yes. I think we were actually quite far along in our work dealing with the European conference it was going to be in a great venue in the Millennium Hall. Very close to the airport in Ethiopia. Lots of things have been set up. Even down to the whole Shedu of the conference itself was set up. The we're going be three. Parallel tracks experimented the conference in that way. All the keynotes. All the speaking. The setup of the post is all of these kinds of things are done and then it was a difficult time the end of February the beginning of March when it was very clear that the long run of cove it and would come into effect and a lot of consideration and debate with many many different kinds of people around actually cancelling the conference. But I think in the end You know it was obviously a good decision. Forced us to experiment in the new way so I was pretty happy with the with the end to actually get to do it. So what was the thing that Chicago pops happiest about about the way the conference went the thing that surprised you the most because I know both of you I mean it must be in so much stress. Just organizing a major conference like this is like major stress in in the base case and then organizing one where you have to reorganize the entire conference within the space of a few weeks. I just can't imagine it but let's start with the positive things and and pats that recession. Say She Sasha. What was the thing that you most pleasantly surprised about about the conference? Yeah so there. I think there were a lot of things that kind of were unexpected or kind of emergent behavior. That came up during the conference itself. The part that I think I spent the most time on and was most excited about was the the social interactions particularly chat and the socials. That emerged I think that was the part we were most worried about. It's the part I get the most out of conferences talking to experts in the field kind of having conversations that you didn't expect or learning about papers that you didn't know that we're coming. We really built that around kind of slack. Like chat experience and seeing the different topic rooms emerged. There was a very interesting created. A I room. That came out of nowhere. The community had several very interesting events. That were just so neat to attend and then we also ran several mentoring sessions just kind of out of nowhere in the middle of the conference that were super interesting and kind of almost better than I would have imagined. That could have occurred. Say getting a drink at a bar at an normal conference

Welcome to nomads place. Hey man good to be here. Thank you so much for coming to my pleasure. Right down the street. Yes yeah we were just talking about how we never were neighbors. Yeah Yeah Burbank. Yep GotTa Love Burbank. Indeed man now Your House. You have a studio as well right Yup Yup got a garage we That was kind of the main selling point of the houses that we'd a three car garage that we could build a studio in awesome. Yeah I mean I wonder how many people in Burbank actually musicians right probably half composed. Who's play yeah? It seems like every you know every couple of months I get invited to some session and it's like down the street somewhere in someone's garage. I'm like Oh my God. I didn't even know there was a studio here. That's all it seems. Like half half the houses in Burbank. Have some SORTA studio you know right right. But he's in the industry exactly and then not to mention writers and actors and producers directors. Sure we're definitely in the entertainment district. Here hub yeah cool all right so bro. The career musician it is what it is right. A lot of people say. What does that mean? Well we've made a living out of playing music so I kinda dub does as career music. Yes somehow we've made it work exactly. Yeah against all odds so look I. I WanNa talk about a brief history. Okay I think you went to the University of Miami is I did. What got into music? What was the impetus that said you know what? I'm going to be a musician but I'm going to be a bass player as well. Well that was early on I mean just as a Kid. I think a lot of us that end up doing this. You know we discover music when we're really young and we just like it. We don't know anything about it. We don't play an instrument yet but we're just into it and that was me. I I listen to a lot of stuff. I was really into it when MTV came out. I just could not stop watching it. I just saw people playing on. Mtv knows like man. I want to do that so then when the time came I I gotta get started taking lessons for just a few months and then I was in a music store once waiting for my lesson in there was based on the wall and I was like. What's that and the guys who get the Bass Guitar and I? I had no idea what that was. It was like I wanNA check that out so as I'm waiting for my guitar lesson I start playing this basin it immediately just like wow like this instrument. This is what I WANNA play. Wow that's who's who's kind of like that. Yeah what what was it? Because there was only four strings would they because they were thicker the vibrations the lower frequency? I can't explain it. It's just like I started playing it and just really dug it. I was like wow. This thing's really cool like and then I kind of learned what it is and what its function isn't a band and Yeah just started taking lessons on one of those i. I was a caddy at the time. Saved up some money caddying at the golf course and bought a Kramer Bass Kramer Duke Bass Guitar. Oh Yeah that was in Norwalk Connecticut. You probably know where that is your from. Long Island right absolutely now not too far away. Yeah all right. So then what brought you down to Miami and eventually over here. Well I've you know pretty soon got pretty serious about it like I had my high school garage band jam on. Know Van. Halen led Zeppelin stuff like that. Then my family moved to Cleveland. Ohio and I was kind of thrust into all the all the groups in the school. Like in the music program like the Renault Bass players so I got thrust into jazz band concert band marching band. Because they didn't have Tubas so I played in marching band with a wireless and then look would do play in the pit orchestra for the musicals. They'd have it high school so I was just kind of thrust into all these situations that that made me a better musician you know I had to. I had to learn to read ahead to to play jazz. I had to learn. You know all all that kind of stuff you know. Kinda made me get serious about music and then started auditioning for other stuff around Cleveland. I played in this like all state jazz band called Ohio Jazz Orchestra for Youth and got my ass kicked in that really like you know. Made Me Kinda step up and shed a lot and that's a trip. How about half of the right? Yeah Yeah so. How did you learn how to read and and play changes and whatnot and jazz because you're going from rock and Roll Jazz? That's a transition. Oh yeah totally. I was a metal head before I did that. Likud I moved to Cleveland. I was like into thrash metal and stuff like that and like you know I started taking theory in the in the high school band director was was like. Oh you know we need to play jazz. Been and all this stuff and I'd never played any of that stuff before I had never read anything so I was just thrust into it and I had to learn and I got Got A teacher in Cleveland and helped me start reading and I got some reading books and practised reading. You know it was just like trial by fire. Sink or swim. You know if there's something that I couldn't figure out how to like take it home and figure it out you know and this is the days before the Internet Youtube to just look it up. Oh no I just had to kind of learn from books and learn from a teacher and just learn about putting the hours in just by you know Kinda practicing reading rhythms and reading notes and the more I did that in the more reading situations I got put into Just kind of the better I got at it and it was a very valuable skill that I was fortunate enough to learn on right. Incredible did you ever use the clap out? The rhythms before is doesn't that table. I remember I would just sit in bed with my book and like a flashlight and a pencil and I would just kind of like nod my head to the quarter note just tap out. The rhythms can only do that for a half hour before bed. You know things like that or if I if I had time where I didn't have my base with me and I couldn't like actually practice do that. Yeah just tap out the rhythms just to Kinda learn how to read rhythms. I talk about that all the time to this day. I'll be sitting on the airplane writing a chart totally an IPAD and you can just tap it out and you can count through it and slow it down right. Yeah I do that all the time just like on planes. Because that's like you know downtime. You have a lot of times in between gigs or whatever and you're like okay. We'll I can use. I can use this three hour flight to chart out tunes for the next GIG. That's right and that's all the time. Yeah Yeah we're GONNA come back to that actually so then you go to. Um so which is kind of good because you start in Jazz Ban. You get your feet wet. Yeah I got more serious a- more serious with jazz as time went on like I said I I was in that Ohio Jazz Orchestra for youth with a lot of real great players from local high schools. I did that and then I went to a interlocken center for the arts for two summer programs and then ended up staying for my senior year of High School Eight of Boarding School. It's just an arts boarding school where everybody's there to get just better at their craft. That's along we. There was there for years senior year so I did two summers and then stayed around for my senior year of high school. Then I went to University of Miami. That's immersive though that. That's Oh man. It was great idea. Yeah it really was because I was with a lot of like minded people all the time you know aside from our on. Sambas that we were in our classes. We jam constantly. You know late at night early in the morning like you're with a bunch of people that just want to play and that just really head start you know just putting in that many hours playing those very fortunate to have been able to do that okay. So that got you prepped for. Yeah then I went to Miami. Miami was the only school I auditioned for. I You know I was. I was an electric bass player. Never really got into the upright thing. A lot of other schools that have jazz programs. Were a little bit more traditional big bandy. You know to where like I couldn't really just be an electric bass player and you go there. Really my options were Miami Berkeley or am I and Miami just seemed to be the right program at the time but you didn't even apply to the others. I didn't I just. I applied auditioned addition to Miami. Got Accepted and that was it. Bam So my choice easy. That's awesome just went yet just went for one school. Yeah what was that like? It's great you've completed your yeah. I did for years. I did take a year off after freshman year. I just kind of wanted like takes time off and process everything because I I've been going pretty intensely for a while with with You know the the the summer jazz program I was in and then interlocken for a year and then after that I did a cruise ship for for the summer. Then I went to Miami for freshman year and It was just a ton of intense shedding for years. And I really just kinda needed to take time away from that just process it so I took a year off after Freshman Year. I did a cruise ship Gig for six on states. Saved up some money practice my ass off but also you know partied quite a bit simple. Do on. Cruise ships brilliant. Yeah just kind of wanted just. I just needed a year to Kinda like SORTA CATCH UP PROCESS. Right relaxed a little bit as well. I feel just like a lot of information intel. It was really practicing a lot back then. To right Yeah so took that year off and then went back and finished and it was great. It was a great program a lot of great players. I played in a lot of bands and just took in a lot of information and it was. It was

Should You Speak at a Conference for Free?

"The back of post I need a couple of days ago about how Jalen Shakira got paid nothing to pay to play at the Super Bowl. They just for exposure exposure Simon ship. It's ask the question. What about when it comes to speaking at spark conferences. Should we expect to get paid or should we just do it for the exposure and and the short answer is nine times out of ten. I would say yeah. You should do it for the exposure now. The reality is a lot of spot. Conferences and a lot of industry conferences in general won't actually pay speaks to attend. They'll expect that you're going to do it for the exposure. My situation I guess over the years I've spoken at a number of events of events and I kind of take the stance now that if you pay for my ticket my airline ticket and my accommodation then as long as I can do it within a day or two then I will probably come and speak at the event if I can if I don't have anything else booked but generally if people aren't going to the organizers not prepared to cover the flight ticket and and the hotel accommodation side of it then I probably won't speak unless it is a big opportunity because I've spoken to these events for a number of years. I feel I've got enough exposure certainly for me and probably for the brand but generally speaking if I can get to speak in an event and represent the brand then generally. I will do that if it works into the rest. The schedule so I think it really depends on your personal situation and your brand or your company situation. Do you need the extra exposure for you personally. Do you need the extra exposure for your brand. The other question I guess is. Is there such a thing as overexposure and in the case of these events I'd say yes there is because a lot of these you're seeing the same people speak again and again and oftentimes speaking about the same subject. I think that actually brings your impression or or your Your reputation down a little bit so I would encourage you if you do speaking events every year. Make sure that you're doing something unique and different in your speech but preferably I think you should be probably alternating events. I noticed by China for instance is big data every year for a number of years now but I always make sure I'm speaking about something different. So that's my opinion. If you get the chance to speak it's probably worth exposure as long as you're not denying yourself any other business or incurring any substantial

"Well fans expecting a tribute to Kobe Bryant during last night's Super Bowl halftime show are complaining that it was so brief they missed it Jennifer Lopez and Shakira announced the tribute last week it came in the form of a song that Lopez is eleven year old daughter sang along with a children's choir as part of the tribute cameras also briefly showed a giant cross lit up in the Lakers purple and yellow before the game players lined up in a twenty four yard line for a moment of silence Brian wore the number twenty four when he played for the

Hail to the Chiefs

"All right so this was an incredibly even matchup but at the end of the day a clear. Oh you're winner emerged Jaylo well and Shakira like let's let's give her due to Yemen Jaylo whatever. She's whatever over she's taking to look and move like that at fifty you know we can all take a lesson from her and And who knew she could move on a pole. It is kind of funny that you know. So how many years. After the wardrobe malfunction we now just have performers on stripper Poles. All right so let's talk about this remarkable game I What was the vibe in the stadium before kickoff? Yeah I mean listen. It's the Super Bowl right. People are excited. I will say that there were a lot more chiefs fans then niners fans and that was kind of to be expected. That's how it's been in Miami all week I think ESPN projected before the game that it was going to be sixty seven percent Kansas the city fans which would make it the most lopsided attendance in history and it really did man. It felt like achieves home game. You had the chance and you know it was a sea of red. Obviously because both nighters and she's fans where red but but chiefs fans definitely were taking over and you could tell when they did the introductory lineups? You could tell. Whenever they they showed chiefs players are coming through the tunnel the stadium which get loud And conversely a lot of booing being whenever the camera would focus on the niners. And you know we've talked a lot in the buildup to this game this week about Kobe. Bryant he just is looming over the world of sports so largely right now now and there was a beautiful tribute to him before the game began. Yeah so there was a moment of silence before America. The beautiful and national and the national anthem were song on Four Koby daughter Jonah and the other seven victims of the helicopter crash. Sure Sunday's they will never be for each of the teams Rosters were lined up on their own twenty four yard line. No Mosh to Kobe's number twenty four as the moment of silence happened and a few players were also wearing purple and gold cleats during warmups. All right so this was expected to be a close game and the first half was incredibly. Even what jumped out at you from that first half. Yeah I mean the first half was super even obviously. We went into to the second half tied at ten The first quarter kind of gave you a setup of how this of how you thought this game was going to go you know. Both teams had strong drives early San Francisco got the running game going out of the gate with deebo Samuel But despite controlling the ball for nearly six minutes in their opening drive that drive only ends in a field goal the chiefs then come back to answer with a really strong drive heavily favoring Running back Damien Williams play action was really working for them in four achieves team. Who's WHO's running game isn't nearly as strong as San Francisco's? This was pretty key for them on that particular drive third and eleven and Patrick mahomes shows off the legs he takes off off and he appears to get the first down but then he fumbles after a hard hit pushes him back. So it's now fourth and one and Andy Reid. has this decision to make. Does he go for word on further on fourth and one it's early in the game. San Francisco's defense was the best in the league. This season on stopping fourth and one And kind of going into this game you know you don't really ever know what he's GonNa do on fourth down but he ends of going for it. And it's absolutely right call Damian Williams gets the first on a short run and Patrick mahomes eventually takes it into the end zone. Himself for the touchdown and the chiefs go up seven to three and early in the second. Quarter Jimmy Garoppolo threw an interception reception and the chiefs and up on a drive with another fourth and one and they go for it again. Yeah and it ends up being the right call again now. Let's remember that Andy. He read only went for it on fourth down ten times in the regular season and here he's gone for it twice in the first twenty minutes of the game so clearly. It's the Super Bowl. He's putting everything on the table and it ends up being the right. Call it results in points. The chiefs the cheesecake field goal. And they go up ten to three okay so at this point Jimmy. Garoppolo has just throw an interception. Forty niners are struggling a bit and it looks like they need a big drive to get back into the game and they get it they did. The the very next drive is really a statement driver San Francisco. The run game really got going. The five straight strong runs including a touchdown throw. Oh a play action pass to a very unlikely hero. Kyle used check the fullback. We got a fullback touchdown in the Super Bowl who also became the first player from Harvard? Ever to score touchdown in the Super

"Seat. The thunder locked into where they are currently with only room to climb up. It's hard to imagine a situation where they fall in the standings thunder playing with house money. And you know me. I'm gambler on Saturday afternoon. The Oklahoma sooners faced off against the Oklahoma state cowboys and got a victory. Eighty two sixty nine their home floor. Yeah a two six nine Nice. The sooners were led by Brady Manic. Who after having a nice little hot stretch played so poorly against Kansas State on last Wednesday? You made up on Saturday Christian doolittle and finish. The game was six point. Dawson Reeves had twenty one and unexpected effort. The cowboys are still looking for answers. From just about anyone mcgriff had fifteen loss and Mike Boyd. Didn't exactly sugarcoated after the game. This cowboys team isn't looking good. Currently at ten and eleven overall an owner eight and conference play looking at their remaining schedule. It's hard to pick out a potential win. The sooners fourteen to seven and four and foreign conference play are still fighting to be a team that is in the bubble or in the tournament. This win doesn't really help with that. But good for bragging rights. Oklahoma state's next game is Wednesday night against Tcu at seven PM at home the sooners play tomorrow at Texas Tech in Lubbock at eight PM ON ESPN two. Now I would not be sleeping on Texas taxes because they're thirteen and eight and had the same conference records. Oh you the red raiders are coming off a win over West Virginia last week as well as only a three point loss in Kansas. This should be a tough test for the sooners and Brady Manic. Thanks for listening the big story today podcast and if you've been listening since the first week which was last week you know right here at the tail. End of the PODCAST. This is generally when I take it towards the movies or music or somewhere. I'm excited to eat not today. Obviously you keep up with the franchise. There's a ton of moving parts right now. Last Wednesday was a tough day for everyone was a tough day for me truthfully. I've been working for six years for a promotion and a full time position radio. I got that on Wednesday should have been the happiest day that I've had professionally long time. Let me tell you it was the toughest day I've ever had to be at work. I worked extremely closely with a lot of the people who were affected on Wednesday. I've met wives. I've met children and it goes without saying my heart broke on Wednesday for some of those who are affected. I knew that it wasn't a performance decision. I knew that it was a financial one so I also know that sitting in the chair than I am right now was Sam. Every day from three seven wasn't a performance decision. It was a financial one. I get that I'm not Koby Daniels. I'm not as good as colby. Daniels won't be Koby Daniels ever for that. I'm sorry you guys have made it very clear that you wish I was truthfully. I wish I was to Co. He's incredible but it's just not the case. It's me so now on every day from three to seven. Just GonNa be me and Sam and I'm just going to be trying to do my best version of me on a radio talk show like I said waiting for this for six years for hard for it. I didn't think it was going to be from three to seven my first opportunity coming off the back of what Wednesday was but it was and it is and I had nothing to do with it but I was affected by it in my way positive. So this isn't a mopey sad story but this is just the truth of it for me and I don't plan on addressing nece on the air or on twitter or on the text line or anywhere there. This is the one time I'll address it not because I'm shy about it and because I'm bashful of what happened. I know that I am lucky. Lot More lucky than skillful. I'm aware but out of respect for colby and Aaron and Gilman and Curtis Dez and Rufus and all the others who are affected. There's no need to drag this out. I'M NOT GONNA be able to replace what they did. For the franchise all I can hope to do is the best version of myself. And if that's not what you want I get it. You didn't sign up for it but also remember the radios free. There's a lot of moving in the background. And sometimes you're twenty six year old kid or not enough experience. Who just happens to be at the right place at the right time? You didn't choose to be there. You didn't make the decision but all you can hope. Turn your mic on and say something stupid. So that's I'm going to do every day all right. There's been the big story podcast which is M. Holland from the franchise podcast network. We're sponsored by new balance and Edmund who is located at fourteen ninety two south. Brian Avenue Edmond Oklahoma. Seven three or three four great place to grab a pair of sneakers. "Yeah. she's exhausted right she's been on towards you can use the break. ego probably sizzle I can't hi Kerry this on my own right what do I have to have this this Shakira Shakira there. I am me and you know and if you know this but when it comes down to the Superbowl halftime show the city that it's in has the choice who's going to be performing that's right that's why we ended up with maroon five because it was in Atlanta and that's they love them down there they chose they chose maroon five they could get Hootie and the blowfish I guess I would pay for that our EMR they also from Atlanta yeah just something about the way jailers manager coming forward saying there's just one rule if Shakira in jail end up getting in a fight rule number one no touching of the face right chorus. a jail Oscar buzz also over her role and hustlers so because J. lo's kind of in the news this old interview with her from nineteen ninety eight has surfaced and it's going viral it's going viral yeah the reason is that she said some not so nice things about the A. listers of the day now nineteen ninety eight she was not an a Lister yet now she was just on our way up she had just done Selena she had done out of sight with George Clooney that's right anaconda money train but she wasn't the star she is yet okay she was on her way when did she pick it's not now is it well I think it was Jerry on the block any at the end on the six was the name of the album yeah okay that was the album I think she picked first in music and then she was with this guy Benny Medina who's a very famous manager who at the time handled Will Smith and Tyra banks and really he's a he's a star maker he's the kind of guy that he knows how to put his clients out there not only was she doing movies and music but he's the one that got her first big contract with Laurie alpha three million dollars which was news at the time because she wasn't anybody yet and then she did Gigli how do you pronounce that G. lady had ever sought yeah then go well but her high profile relationships you know back then number she was with P. Diddy for a little while yeah yeah that's right so that helped her career is that did monster in law when it's rushing fond and that was horrible the wedding planner and that was horrible data Manhattan and that was our horrible true is it done it too many good movies that should occur over now which is why the Oscar buzz over hustlers a big deal you know if you saw it she was terrific in it I mean really she was very it was unexpected I'd expect there to be as good as she was real and the movie was actually the story so interesting I would if you haven't seen it I would say go see it but anyway so is there any nudity in this movie well you know it's about strippers so what do you think I mean J. lo nudity I'm. you know what's interesting about that it's her but the whole time I was trying to figure out whether there was what the she actually looks like that or whether that was some after effects I understood it's perfect white like deniro how they made it look like younger for the Irishman exactly could be HM right can I get that real life and they did they D. H. R. but is what I want to know yeah now that that things always in very Kardashian like but a few very rolled around was had children I don't know how it's possible but I guess it's possible I mean she's gorgeous so don't you compare the bomb of J. lo to the public correct Kardashian sorry I started thinking about one of the. going out is overrated yeah they are in there just saying that one is fake and one is real weight which one's fake the Kim Kardashian but is allegedly fake come on yeah when I say she said fillers and that kind of stuff that she's fake that why would you want a bigger. I don't know that's your thing okay it is kind of thing if you think this beaver that's the wrong side. sound different guys aren't around to the the interview that's going viral is in nineteen ninety eight I think movie line was the magazine she was asked about Gwyneth Paltrow who had just been nominated for an Oscar for Shakespeare in love yeah she had done seven and like a dozen other films she was V. A. Lister the time here's what Jay lo said he said tell me what she's been in I swear to god I remember anything she was in I mean some people get hot by association I know more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work oh boy right now all right I know that that is a saucer of milk so Sir built table too I'm not sure what it is then they asked about Kaman DS who had just done something about Mary she done the masks using like a dozen films he was hot late nineties Dino ninety eight mass any given Sunday she done never looked better in any movie then that would act like a so J. lo about her she said Cameron Diaz is a lucky model who's been given a lot of opportunities I just wish she would have done more with them. so much shade so much so much it and the last she did is a lot more shape but here's the last piece a shade I'm gonna tell you here's the irony of all ironies she goes after Madonna she says do I think she's a great performer yeah I think she's a great actress no. the front door saying that yes she said acting is what I do okay I can act so I'm like Hey don't spit on my craft and then she went did she let me like. home skews me so she's just not very not a very nice person yeah no kettle black line one you know I mean yeah all right so I got a really gets this person out sounds like well but I really love J. loss I feel like that was when she was young and stupid that I wonder how much of that was her manager pushing her out there and saying you know you are the best tell them I don't I feel I feel like the kind of person she was the kind of person she is just one of those few people that have gotten nicer as she's gotten older you know and kinder okay so maybe she was just hungry then and a little bit vicious she really from the block like she really Jenny from the block no she isn't like a or C. she came like from for actually a rich neighborhood no I really from the black I'll tell you because I actually one of her sisters was my best friend for a long time right so what happened was when their parents got divorced so they were kids the parents got divorced and the father David moved to California and the mom Lupe stayed in the Bronx so Jennifer went with the father to LA because she wanted to be a dancer yes Sir so she left the Bronx very early and Linda and Leslie the other two sisters stayed in the Bronx with Guadalupe so they they are from from the block so technically she was born in the Bronx but she grew up in LA I have Guadalupe I Superbowl parties wait that's guacamole guacamole yeah click on that in a weird way to take. just ever heard the name you've got a blue day mom Spanish in that common. did you mean now. what's your take on Jennifer Lopez. I don't know what you think I see the complete phony I don't think she's talented yeah I make fun of my of my by a Porter Rican friend their time as I say that you you know only count is that your order. while. how did they react to that Jimmy. none too happy but you know they they kind of know it's true I mean you know she is she is a complete phony like that like you said about the Bronx see see see. CDI herself into a commercial to make it look like you going back to the Bronx or whatever. I agree I mean yeah she is she is I don't know she's just such a fake person I think well here's a question is more phony A. Rotter J. lo. than that that's a tough that's a tough you know because you know a right is you know not well liked I think you know by most sports fans yeah in general so I mean you know it's just. other match made in heaven make a lot of money and they're not very talent while the A. rod sale to drive you take the steroids out he still was incredible player but yeah I mean now one of the criticisms of Jennifer Lopez's that when her music was coming out she would never tore and people would say that's because she can't saying and they can't put her on the stage because it'll be obvious that she can't say those can be a lip sync thing and at the civil what we know they're gonna be lip sinking just because that's just what they do how about the other one. the lip sync on a secure sings I've I've I've been in the room with her while she sings and she's incredible while Hey Jimmy is still good amor only is that a is that still thing in in Teaneck. M. L. yet Italian place I mean yeah yeah I know they're they're they're still there in your I think they're doing while they're like they're getting bigger all right I'm gonna hit that knocked told my favorite restaurants you Jim I hear Teaneck I hear and Maroney thanks Jimmy appreciate speaking of phonies the guy who invented the labradoodle is regretting it he has some thoughts about it so he he created Labradors M. is widely con Ron and he is on that's his name is a hang out with guacamole no okay not given at a party now he's not given as if you brought the labradoodle poodle cross in nineteen eighty nine because he was working for the guide dogs in Australia and he was trying to breed the perfect guide dog so these Labrador very loyal very smart the poodle incredibly smart and also hypoallergenic so the people that work blinder that or that needed us a guide dog they were allergic to dogs so he was creating a hypo allergenic dogs that was super smart super obedient easy to train he never consider he says that it would start a trend designer breed and the thing that he really like he was making fun of this something now called a radi who which is a rottweiler poodle hybrid and this is a natural yeah well like Frankenstein that's what he said he called he said it's like Pandora's box of Frankenstein's monster and here's a need to know about dogs I spend a lot of time with David fry from Westminster Kennel Club he used to host it he's the one that they make fun of in that movie best in show all right now so David fry he stepped down now is no longer the voice of the west has a great voice yeah he is terrific right so he's what was very interesting that I learned is that a breed of dog is only agreed if you can put a male and a female together and predict what the puppies are going to be like oh so labradoodle is are not a breed yet because you cannot breed a labradoodle with the labradoodle and predict what the puppies are going to be yeah seven could be more poodle some could be more Labrador some. be some other you know got a lead to some illnesses I would think that's the big issue and that's what this guy con run is saying he's saying that because people are Burgess responsibly breeding a Labrador a Labrador and a poodle they're they're getting all kinds of congenital disease and they're more likely to have these of cancers and if nobody has labradoodle but they're dying of cancer at much younger ages than other breeds very sad yeah and it has to do with their responsible breeding and that's what he's that's what this guy con Ron is saying that he regrets the day that he thought about putting those two braids together yeah see I got a pure bred there and an end to the rescue I'm scum bag I totally get it this is me you're not a scumbag I have a pure bred dog as well and the reason I got a pure bred dog is because first breeders will say to you I don't judge anybody whatever so if you have a dog as long as you have a picture of the dog about how the that's All I Want it's that too but also what breeders do is if you get a dog for breeder and anything happens and that dog's life that breeder will take the dog back. take good care of it Mr you know so you don't know what's going to happen if you take a dog from you know shelter and you can't keep it or you have some allergies something happens to you you know less shelters will take the dog back if they do you don't know where the dogs in the end up it's not a good sign a.
