"Her was in me there we go the first fucking thing this whole song. Those reasonable the whole fucking I haven't heard the sirens so long. Is it go to a place where he recognizes his faults. Because then i then everything i've been saying is just turned on its head and and sort of know. Does he end up being like. I'm a piece of shit. Forgive me everyone. Forgive me world. Forgive me mother and father. Forgive me honey. I don't think so. But the first reasonable thing he says in the song is why should she believed me. When i told her it wasn't me you know why it's a good question because what i just went over because she fucking saw you do all of those things and even in cases where she didn't hear you see you did hear you. She heard screaming. You said before. She stayed there until the whole thing was over. According to you so yeah. Yeah matt you fucking you know what. That's my question for you. Ricardo sent. That's his name by the way. Ricardo do sent. That is my question for you. Ricardo why should she believe you when you tell her wasn't you why. Why would she ever do that. Or maybe that's my question for shaggy but ricardo's ricardo let's see if recorder comes through census because shaggy's just pushing wasn't it wasn't me and ricardo's like now at first he was like i don't know what to do and then it was only just say that ricardo's like And he's listening he's like okay okay and and until now he's like why the fuck would she ever believe so. Let's see where this goes. I the just say just put a pin in this. I wanna i wanna note. I'm going to bet money on the fact that this doesn't end in remorse. Let's go about income. Don't know wait. i'm sorry. I wish i'd do exactly exactly. Yeah wasn't zapped leave more fun shoulder physical evidence even after he saw you. It's not going to not gonna end happy right now. There's only regret the extra keeping all we wait on go community. Yeah he gave full circle record. I'm sorry i'm sorry ricardo.

"Your camera. You're fucked doesn't matter. Can yes the the the thing that she saw you. She has you on camera. You're admitting that in the song shaggy. That's bad advice. The song is shit top to bottom. Not only is it sort of like celebrating this shit. This central shitting every single moment of the song is just like fucked someone else and it was cool. I'm not really that celery. The whole song is kinda shrug off the shittiest shit ever but also it's giving you bad advice. You can't when someone's looking at you do something. Here's one excuse that won't work. It wasn't me shaggy. If that fucking excuse worked honestly the world would be such a different place so many so many an astounding staggering. Amount of people. Who are currently in jail would not be in jail. The only people who are in jail or the people who are like fucking ed kemper. Who's like i fucking killed. My mom and i fucking killed my grandma. And i fucking killed my grandfather and also i killed all these other people and you heard me. I did it and please put me in jail. Basically in shaggy's rope only fucking ed kemper would go to jail. Only fucking people turn themselves in are like i did it. I'm a menace to society. Put me in jail. I would imagine that's like point. Zero zero zero zero one of the population of jails. so in shaggy world. You could just go round robin people shooting people in the head philandering. Whatever blue collar crimes violent crimes and then when you fuck and get arrested or you go to court whatever. It wasn't me and then you're off. You're done that's shaggy's world. That's the world shaggy. Wants excuse so rude picture this. I can't get over that too from what she was about to see why she me when i told.

"I feel like people. Don't understand that about commercial the commercials to for during the super bowl the whole cultural freak out about super bowl commercials. All the fuck is all at the fuck is is some fucking shitty company trying to sell you something over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over every single commercial every single commercial is fucking followed bunch of what i saw so many of like who would call themselves socialists just like obsessing over all the fucking super bowl commercials. Hey what are you. You can't be that you can't be all of those things at once. Wasn't you can't do that. You can't be a fucking true blue socialist and love super bowl commercials. You got something wrong upstairs if you don't see how the shit doesn't go together. I said i wasn't going to do the whole fucking super bowl commercial thing but it's something it's one of those cultural things that drives me absolutely fucking nuts. It's maximally confusing. What the fuck. What the fuck their commercials. They're just commercials. You don't go. She she when the commercials are on you. Start talking when the fucking commercials are on anyway anyway anyway. Now that i brought up. I have no choice because this is a thing we gotta fuck and talk about a little bit. The song they used in that fucking shitty fuck doritos commercial is an iconic famous song by the one and only shaggy and it goes a little something like this. So they're being so shitty can't believe how should be the so upbeat about the worst. Should've also not gonna work with rude hanging on rude. I'm.

"John travolta's dancing in it. You know what else of course. Of course it wasn't fucking funny. They're always trying to be so funny too. But that it the worst thing the worst thing is that when someone is telling you about a commercial that was so great and so funny someone else. Like the wayne's world commercial with wayne with wayne and garth and cardi b. fucking. Of course there was one with wayne and garth and cardi b. cardi b. for sure doesn't know who the fuck winning garth are. She's too young but she's just like oh you're going to pay five million dollars to sell fucking doritos or whatever it is. That was the fucking one. Oh why are they that they're always parent people together because they think it's funny like they had that one with shaggy and ashton kutcher on camera. Wasn't me commit banging on the sofa. It wasn't me. I mean the most upbeat song about cheating. You know listing all the ways. You're fucking around behind your your women's back and then just interjecting was so shitty that song anyway. They made that a funny commercial. That actually was for fucking doritos. I think or cheetos some fucking thing. But they're always parents shit like they think it's cute. Pair fucking martha. Stewart and snoop or shaggy and ashton manila kunar scooter. Scooter and Mike myers cardi b. That should isn't funny commercial Here's the thing when every commercial decided it was going to be funny. That's when it became a problem. 'cause like you're watching a football game you don't want to. You're not gonna laugh fucking six times six different things and the worst is when you are watching the super bowl of people. Obviously this year was all fucked up because nobody watched it together. I mean i know people did but when everyone's like she when the commercials come on shut the fuck up no fucking hippie no fucking socialist but shut the fuck up. You fucking unrelenting capitalist. fuck..

"The with kevin mason mentioned last week. I was a little disappointed to hear that super bowl ads. This year won't include coca cola pepsi. Budweiser still a lot of advertisers. It took them a while to sell the advertising but they got it done but from everything. I've read this year. More companies are going to be using celebrities than ever before make sense. Celebrities are pretty easy. You got to pay a little bit more. I guess to get the bang for the buck. But everybody's gonna talk about the ads with celebrities in them now. I haven't seen any ads so far. That just heard about some of the ads. I know we'll farrell is going to be one. I've seen a teaser from gm. Mike myers and dana. Carvey look back to wayne's world and guess parody commercial ashton kutcher and his wife mila kunis are in a commercial for cheetos. I think we've shaggy the singer. Michael jordan matthew mcconaughey. They're gonna be in commercials to as are of course sports stars terry bradshaw peyton manning ally manning marshawn lynch all going to be in commercials together. So obviously we're gonna see a lot of celebrities this year. A lot of big stars in the long run because of this pandemic. You wanna make sure you're talked about and that isn't always so easy.

"Our first guest star in the netflix. Show bonding which is about a subject. We can't really talk about on a family show. Think fifty shades of grey. But funny. and you're kind of their brendan scannel and matt lucas. Welcome to ask me another high for having us welcome. I just want to start by saying. I love that bonding as a show as a topic exists. Absolutely it's definitely one of the shows where as it was coming out. I was like i wonder how my family is gonna feel about this. I'm like i'm deeply irish. Catholic has eight siblings and my dad has five in all my aunts and uncles are like love that show with all the whips and rather everything. Everything i ever do. I'm half-naked end so at this point. I'm just kind of used to it right at some point. You're like i and a hat that's too much to buy. I know this season. They had this season. They had a like a jumper made for me and with an apron over. And i was like whoa. I'm like i'm clothed. I'm actually fully clothed. Like what a strange turn. Sure all right well. Are you up for some games. Would you guys like to play some games. I love games. That's you do so you're gonna take turns answering questions in this first game. Here's what's going to happen. We're going describe fictional animals as if they were presented at a competition like the westminster dog show so some of these animals are dogs but some of them are not you. Just tell us the name of the animal or the title of the work that it comes from. Okay brendan this is for you next in the working group. We have a great dane who deviates from the breed standard. He's over five feet tall. The judge will never watch gate and look look at this. He's walking on hind legs. Some highly unusual behavior from this dog as he seems to be leaning over to talk to his handler shaggy. Yes he say shaggy. A i mean this has to be miscue be do. I always love the mask. Reveal they would have the double mask reveals to. It was a ghost and then like they took it off and it was someone and they took the mask off. That person someone else surprised at. How many people's first names were old man when we go them. I'm i'm definitely old man. Old man lucas. This one is for you. Okay this entrant. In the herding group was raised on a farm and found his true calling hurting sheet. He looks comfortable in the stack position. But the judge is a little confused by spoofs and curly. Tail says first time here at madison square garden but he seems to be adjusting to being a pig in the city babe pig. I never seen that. It's supposed to be adorable though it is it is pretty. I mean talking animals. I have no problem with talking animals. Yeah and pigs are so key. There's a there's someone in my neighborhood that has a pet pig and they walked i live. I live in the village and new york city. And like there's a person who has a pet pig And he walks the pet pig around my neighborhood. And it's really cute you very nick. I'm in brooklyn. No one has a pet pig. I feel like was something wrong here. Officially bushwick arianna guerande also has a pet pig. Really just out of curiosity. Is the pet. Pay any coats or call that ever. Although i do follow. Listen i'm gonna. I'm going to plug this. I follow this pig on instagram. Because he has an instagram account. Its arms giblet the piglet so you can like actually go check out given the piglet and see what i'm talking about and give you the piglet follows me. I feel very proud of him. That's very nice. Your Business Plan is a Military Mission Michael Penney - burst 15

"Right. The thing is though is you've got to get that mission by in it's hugely hugely critical in order to get your team to enveloppe towards it. You know and I would also say too because it is organizational is cultural. I'm GONNA steal a line from Mattis when I quote him. You can lead for the people below you. You can lead for the people above you, but you can't do both at the same time I'd like heavy. They are both going to hold you accountable. At the same time. No matter what you're either GonNa, get it from your people that are below. You're going to get it from higher and you as the leader you're you're the pipeline for both of those I experienced that while in a war zone with three hours of sleep in you know we gotta move 'em around. So that way the Afghans don't realize our actual posture is here right. So calm under stress Marcus earliest Kubilius serious other different STOIC folks who can help out in that regard. Talked about in the beginning do your check in I met like an eight maybe like a six four. You know I'm I'm trying man with spirituality, get it up. You know what I'm saying. But it I have all of these different influencers of yesteryear. You know I I. Don't watch TV. I'd rather read a book I read the learn in the morning and I read for fiction in the evening in order to kind of shut my brain back I bet sleep. See the thing is though is like a trying to get people into this mentality of being able to go into business in the work? Yes. Living with a purpose, right? Okay. I think a whole lot of people is look at that. Go I don't really know what that means. I look at it and I go. Well, if you cut grass living, you absolutely think about this and I know people who are this passionate I'm not joking about cutting grass they're landscapers and they look at something and it's like a barber looking at a shaggy. You know person walk in off the street feel like they're almost disgusted by it. It's something that they need to do. It's compulsive they have to do it. They have to make that are look amazing right and I've seen that there was people who truly care about what they're doing. They're Krasne they look at that and they go. That's a big problem. But I can make beautiful you know. So we can give all of these different anecdotes goes back to well yeah. How do you get mission high in from your people who are trying to sell? Insurance let's say for instance. And and so there it is. It's vilifying the need. It's getting the alignment of the people that around your team and that I have to say is the accountability that's going to happen both ways because look expectations that are talk through. Yeah they matter a little bit. Okay expectations that are put down on paper. That you can hold like we hold each other accountable contracts and other stuff like that. Those are expectations which need to be met. Right. So when you fill out a five paragraph business plan, what you're doing is you're putting your intentions expectations down on paper yours the real question. You need to know everything. The short answer is absolutely not a matter of fact it's kind of better that you just know enough to be dangerous and then you let your experts you've delegated tax for through reason you let them run with the ball and I think that kind of segues a little bit toward okay. You've written the plan it's action oriented.

"Those lanes when we get an explanation or one of the few times, I think when we can say confidently, this is what this means. You know otherwise we're speculating on what these visions means sometimes. So this is a gift talk to us. Is there any significance here with Gabriel being present with Daniel for this and then only ever again being mentioned in Luke? We would love to know a lot about the angels and being able to say, this is the Djelic world, and this is the hierarchy and all that stuff. But what's your realizing and concluding on? You're absolutely right as we don't have a lot of information and we have a little snippet of verse here and there, and so to try to go from that to conclude, here's how the whole angelic world works I think boy, it's a high risk that's a high risk operation. and. We don't know lot. We don't. You know I, tell the students once you move outside our little round. Okay of the physical and you move into the spiritual round we don't know Schmaltz have a limited understanding. And we embrace what we see and it's a kind of spectacular. You know it's unusual. It's important. You get the idea. This must be very, very important if he only shows up again at the birth of Christ that he is bringing something significant. But who exactly is he and what exactly does he look like and what's his role and you know Hollywood runs with these things and there's always you know stories and myths and things about the angels in it shows up and sometimes and other literature, but we just don't know much and it rattles Daniel. Not You know yes it does. You see angel like back in Genesis who come and talked Abraham, they look like regular people and so clearly this revelations a little bit different disappearance, a little different and he tells Daniel. This is in verse nineteen. He says, I'm here to tell you what will happen at the conclusion of the time of Wrath because it refers to an. Appointed time of the end, and then he goes on to say the two horned Ram that you saw represents the kings of media and Persia. The shaggy goat represents the king of Greece and the large horn between his eyes represents the first king four horns that took the place of the broken horn represent four kingdoms. They will rise from that nation, but without its power league..

"Did Shaggy. I mean, the guy was the soundtrack to much of my life was over. Check all the super cool man. OK, we're going to get into that in just a second. Let's start by identifying this project. It's World War cipher. And I've heard you say it's like the Avengers of music across the war Cipher is just a song. It's an epic song at that, but it's a huge collaboration. Between Every military service, every gender, every teaching every just anything you can imagine. We packed it in there, and we wanted to do that kind of like unite everybody through music as well as entertain people and get our minds off of all the current events Because it's been stressful lately, and a lot of times I've noticed that music has been therapy. Me and my friends. I figured that we need to do something that we can share with the world and create something called the World War cipher. So it's not a traditional song. There's no like coarse or anything like that. It is just basically back to back displays of lyrical prowess by each veteran from different areas Today, every meat that is musically rescue rangers get in question and this be watching. So keep it be this way. Love 6 ft, So cool, man. All right, let's before we hear the music of each individual artist. Uh, shaggy helped you make that connection, man because.

Bill & Ted Face the Music Review

"One, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty, nine, we met bill s Preston and Ted Theodore Logan in the movie bill and Ted's excellent adventure they returned in bill and Ted's bogus journey in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety one, and now almost thirty years later they're back in bill and Ted's face the music Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves return as well. Bill and Ted respectively, and this time they'll need not just their triumphant man to save the world but also their daughters I'm Stephen Thompson and I'm Linda Holmes we're talking about bill and Ted face the music on this episode of Pop Culture Happy Hour from NPR here with me and Steven from his home studio is plan Weldon of NPR's arts desk. Linda and also with us from his home in Washington DC, we have JC Howard who is a producer of NPR's Ted Radio Hour and how I built this I. J. C.. Good to have you back good to have you back. So if you are all not familiar, there's not a lot setup that you need or these films except to say that Bill and Ted were introduced to us as teenage bro Friends who had a band and just wanted to have a triumphant band when they were older and eventually they got sucked into time travel and picking up different historical figures, and later we're going to try to save the world and there was. A whole story where they were going to ultimately right a great and triumphant song it's it is a surprisingly complex canonical story of which you need to know practically nothing in order to enjoy I think these films Stephen now that I have thoroughly set the table kind of what is your attachment to bill and Ted these movies. If you have one, well, I've seen bill and Ted's excellent adventure. A BUNCH OF TIMES I've seen bill and Ted's bogus journey a couple times. These are movies that have kind of existed on the wind for the last thirty years. I re watched these movies within the last five years I. Think I talked about the. What's making me happy on this show but still kind of needed to go back to be reminded of what happens in them going into this movie I mean this movie is coasting on goodwill. There is a certain amount of fan service going on here. I mean I'm not sure how many people were clamoring to revisit these characters almost thirty years later but at the same time. Something really really smart happens in this movie and you can tell before you even start watching it, and that is that it is ninety three minutes long all three of these movies are about ninety minutes long and I think they understand that that is the perfect lengthier. There is a certain amount of sequel bloat here. The first two movies are incredibly Chintzy. The stakes in the first one are no greater than maybe Ted we'll get sent to military school and you're there's like the entire fabric of space time can be ripped apart. This is a very shaggy movie. I. Think there are stretches where it sags but. I do appreciate the number of updates. You don't have the gay panic stuff that really dragged down the earlier movies are no gay slurs in this movie. This movie bothers to give its female characters a little bit more agency the women who become their wives barely have any part to play in the other movies, and here you get more of that you get their daughters who are given kind of their own subplot. So I appreciate that it's not just rattling around with these two dudes who are now middle aged, but they're taking an interest in people outside of just bill. Yeah and you do get their daughters. The structure of this one is kind of that they go on one journey through time and their daughters meanwhile who are played by Samara weaving and bridget lending pain go off and tried to get a band together for their DADS to play with on this epoch song that's supposed to save the world. So you kind of have the one journey going on the other journey going on then naturally in the third act it all comes together and I did like those two performances from the daughter's there are also some kind of new faces in this one kristen Schall plays Kelly who is The daughter of Rufus who was the George Carlin character in the original JC it feels to me like you are too young to have a moustache attachment to these movies but I have been assured that that is not the case because television. Yeah. That's exactly right. I was actually super excited to hear this movie was happening and I'm going to show my age a little bit and say that I was born pretty close to the release of the First Bill and Ted Movie of Bill and Ted's excellent adventure. So my first encounter with these guys was as as they say a most impressionable youth. And I was one of what I can only assume are millions of kids who watch bill and Ted's excellent adventure every time it ran on cable TV. The thing about the first movie is the problem that they needed to solve was very simple. Billon Tade just needed a good grade right granted the solution to that problem was a little larger than life and included doctor who like time travel home box and all but the problem itself was simple. The second movie bogus journey was certainly a little nuttier. It had killer robots and aliens and the grim reaper. Didn't feel like it hit quite the right notes for me. No Pun intended. So win a third film was confirmed. The main question I had was like, what are they going to do? Are they going to try to recreate the success of the original and go back to simple run of the mill time travel Orlean into the bizarre and crazy and from just the trailer? It was clear that they weren't going to just lean into the bizarre, but they were diving in head first. But I think what separated this one from the nineteen ninety one sequel is that it has a lot more heart. The original movie was really about the friendship of bill and Ted and saving that they didn't seem to care as much about saving the future as much as they wanted to just make sure that bill and Ted could still just be friends. So it had this kind of surprisingly earnest quality and I think that was what was missing in the second film in this third one for all of its bizarreness in all of its doubling down on death in heaven and hell, and all these kinds of weird things. It really reignites the idea that there are friendships and. Relationships here that are worth saving. Yeah I think you're absolutely right that they go back to the relationship between those two guys being the center of the story and I. Think it's really funny. One of the things that I think is featured in some of the the trailer stuff but they are both married they both have you know lovely wives that you have met before since they got them from the past and they have relationships with their wives that are completely enmeshed with their relationship with each other. So they can't conceive of having individual marriages that aren't some. Like a four person marriage I thought that stuff was sort of funny because I think one of the things that carries over like if you're going to take these guys in age them thirty years you have to either assume that at some point they became more normal, which is a weird thing to assume about bill and Ted. Or you have to assume that they are still very bill and Ted, which would mean that they are still kind of very fixated on this idea that they are a duo and they are always together and they are each other's right hand Glenn you had indicated on twitter that. You perhaps did not have the same nostalgia for these characters that perhaps I have and others may have what is your take care? All right. The ticker about to hear from me Linda Holmes is going to be a subjective it's rigorous. It's clear eyed it is on demand by the gauzy scream nostalgia because unlike all y'all I never saw these movies until this week just to prepare for the show and I didn't see him for very simple reason I didn't have to I. Mean I was a junior in college nineteen, eighty, nine I was studying marine biology. I was dating a string of profoundly unfulfilled women and. Being. On a college campus and eighty nine and not here boobs heinous strange things are afoot at the circle k just over and over and over. So I felt like I got it. And think about the time late eighties early nineties mainstream. American. Comedy was kind of stuck in this catchphrase based mode and I was like, okay. I don't need to see this while I've seen them all now and I'm here to tell you. Sure I guess that's your thing. I like the Guy Listeners of the leads I. think that's the appeal here but left only once an excellent adventure. It's a visual gag that gets tossed off. It's a Freud at a mall holding a corn dog and it's like, okay, fine. You got me I mean it's low hanging fruit, but you got. And in face the music this new film shore on Paper Samara, Weaving Kristen Schaal Holland freaking Taylor they are gunning for me they are coming. But ultimately didn't stick. It's not supposed to. That's not what it's for. It just evaporates on contact with the eyeballs and maybe that's exactly what the world needs. Right now is dumb sweep dumb but I

"So people are getting shot like every single day in New York. They're seeing a best uptick in the murder rate in New York. City virtual. I believe last I checked one hundred percent of all people shot in New York City over the course of the last month. Are People of color nearly all of them are black. That is not something blasio. We'll we'll talk about. Instead Bill Blasio will. We'll simply say that it's time to paint giant murals and say black lives matter in front of trump tower on fifth avenue. And what will the media cover with media? Cover this stuff. No, the media. The media won't cover the shootings. Really they'll cover kind of tangentially. There's a headline yesterday. Believe is from the AP talking about. It's puzzling why the shootings have increased. I think they used the word mysterious to describe why the shootings have increased. Get the Scooby van. Guys who the hell knows. Get the mystery machine we got. We get shaggy on the case. I who could roll who who can figure it out? What why would there be more shootings when you're trying to defunding the police yet, idiots? And when you're focusing on painting, giant yellow signs that say black lives matter in front of trump tower. We showed trump orangemen. Bad Problem solved. Is. A Bill de Blasio was painting. Decorating In The Era Of Zoom

"I know that sounds really weird, but you know we're in this time and place right now. Where a lot of us are communicating with other people whether it's friends, family co workers through these video conference calls whether it's you know zoom or facetime or whatever technology you choose to follow. We love to sell three of those, but I think these sudden. Sudden prominence of these technologies in our lives right now has put new focus on what our homes look like in the background like how we present ourselves and our houses by what is on the screen behind us when we do, the zoom calls totally I was on his own call for work. The other day and I like had to find a place on my bed. That didn't look like I was on abandoned. Like I'm doing this. I'm going to bed but I'm going to make it. Look like there's just like an artful mirror behind me and I could be anywhere I could be like in the foyer. Still have a foyer I want to get into that in a second because I think there are actually two parts to this phenomenon, one is the like how you actually change your own home, but the other one is also like the voyeuristic element of getting to see other people's homes in this way because we're not just talking. Talking about like your boss or your co worker, or your grandma or whomever, you're calling, but also like TV now we're used to now seeing newscasters and sports, figures and celebrities, and all these people coming to our screens from their homes with their own offices and kitchens and bedrooms in the background, and it's like this kind of weird way to see inside someone's personal life that we weren't privy to before I I love watching some good news. You guys remember. We dug that with John Kuczynski is it. Christmas gear croissants. Kaczynski, Kristen Ski I just liked seeing his bookshelves and I like seeing like his kids made the sign like there's this homey nece, and this like almost depth like i. feel like I, know him better because I've seen a room in his house and I've seen how his kids draw I know. That's false death, but it feels like it's almost seems like a weird equalizer in a way like I know. A lot of these people have homes that are much grander and fancier than our everyday homes, but still to see this person whom you're used to seeing under studio, lighting and with makeup and fancy cameras suddenly. Just in their basement yeah, no, there was some celebrity I forget who it was now, but they were in front of big billiton's, and like four people deemed me and said like they need your help with the built in I. Wish I could remember who it was, but I was like that's so funny that you're looking at the celebrities instead of their face, but then I'm also like I m too, and I have an idea I heard a whole podcast where they were talking about during the NFL draft, which was held virtually this year. We didn't watch it. We're not NFL draft. Be pulled our sports as power-washing. To podcast about the NFL draft, but they were saying how people were getting distracted, and more people actually tuned into the draft this year, and they think partially because of the voyeur element of getting to see in the players and owners homes like that, and so became almost a more watchable event than it typically is something intimate about it right even if it's like they've selected this room, and it has nothing personal in the background and decorated. Maybe it's like in their guest house like we don't know the full story, but there is something about being like. Wow, that's like in their private space and we're seeing it and there's actually a. A whole twitter account about this. You mentioned the thing about wanting to restyle bookcases. Someone sent me a link to an article about room raider. I don't think that's the actual twitter. Handle but I'll link the twitter account in the show young dot com slash podcast, but is this account that basically all they do is post screen shots of people who are on television you know through zoom or some other teleconferencing and the twitter account rates their background, snarky or funny than snarky like it's not really that hard hitting. Although they do call out specific things, they'll say love. Angle bookcases Nice at a plant I would fully agree that everyone could. Could add another plant two and three. I also even found an article through Verandah, where they consulted with an interior designer about how people can make their homes look better in the background and it lines up with a lot of things that actually room raiders talking about I. Don't know who runs the room rate account, and if they have an interior design background. I don't think they do. I think they're more comedic well. I would say these are my personal tips because I have had a lot of work calls lately where I'm on. You know a great, and it's only four of us I know my rectangles pretty big. You know when? When I'm on a call with like thirty people for work I don't really care about the background that much, but when I'm on like just a few people, I'm like Oh. They're gonna see everything, so my tips are like to face a window, so there's light on my face as opposed to like being under a candlelight and looking like a goon. Yes, and this is actually something that we have struggled with because I think you might assume we have plenty of Nice style backgrounds to choose from when Nigel. No, especially in our last house, because when we laid out our office and everything, we didn't have this perspective on a layout like. Like what will the background look like on a call like this? That was not in the forefront of our brain, like it is now, and we used to like to make a lot of our calls using my desktop computer, because it has the big screen, but I sat with two windows behind me, so we were basically silhouettes on every call always which I didn't mind guys because you don't even have to make about when you're. You're like anonymous light, but my other tip. I was GONNA. Say some tips so number one face. A window is nice because you get that natural light on your face number to try not to look like. Like. You're into weird or intimate of a spot. Why WanNa look like I was in my bed. I also don't like to look like ooh. That could be a bathroom. I'm not in a bathroom, but when I look at the background, my question, I asked myself as like. We'll someone think this is a bathroom, and if the answer is yes, I move, and then my third tip is just around for something weird in the background. Because often something weird becomes normal to your eyeballs. An example would here. We have packing blankets still on a few windows that we're waiting for blinds for those look normal to me because I've seen them for. For six weeks now, but to someone else they look like. Why do you have like gray shaggy felt hanging from one side of the window off of a nail, like looks like the pelt of a very sad creature, so look around and say like what are my eyeballs used to? That seems normal to me, but isn't really normal. Another example would be like if you always hanging your bra over the chair. Don't do the zoom call in front of the chairs. Everyone can see your bra in the background like think about what's behind you and then shift the camera a little bit to make it look. I don't know

Our Thoughts ON WWDC 2020

"Hello, everyone. This is David sparks joined by my friend and yours Mr Stephen. Hello Steven David! How are you? Good, I have to admit I. was a little bittersweet this morning watching the keynote. I had a really good time I. Watch it with a bunch of friends, but I didn't watch it with you in the room. where it happens so sad, there were all this year. The first WDC have not been a person since twenty thirteen, so it's a big change. Yeah. That being said. I feel like I've been just as busies if I was there And Apple surprised US this year. They they had a lot more announcements than I expected I. Really expected the snow Leopard announcements. Everybody global pandemic, We had some bugs to fix any way not a whole lot new this year. Yeah, and our Mex- that working at our Max to, but there's a bunch of stuff as we go through our summary of what happened. That caught me off guard. Yeah, so some Meta Real. Quick we recording this. Couple of hours after the keynote, the state of the Union just ended so as this week unfold, so be more information that comes out so this is based on what we know after just a few hours of reading stuff, so the maybe things that we don't get quite right. We don't know that you may know in the future listening this. Please forgive us for the weird. Time shift there. Yes, future you please be generous to us. Yes, I did watch the entire keynote and I watched the entire state of the Union took copious notes and have been doing research, but I do believe and Both of us have installed babies. I've got the Beta on my big IPAD pro, and you've got on your ipad mini, so we we have line research here as well as we talk through the show, an slowly downloading the Mac Os Beta for my laptop, but it's halfway through. It's at a seven hours left sets. That's taking it sweet time. Input on your phone. Already know won't. It won't go on my phone until much much later. I, did I did mission real? Quick before we dive into all of this? Because we've got a few emails about it, Really FM. We have kind of relaunched our membership program and one of the new perks for a lot of the shows including connected another show that I'm on is. Member only versions of the episodes David and I. We are working on ideas for this, but we're not quite ready to to launch anything, but we did want to share that. We are thinking about it. So, you can check out and see what connected of greater doing. Extra segments sort of thing, and we will be listening to feedback if if you guys have stuff that you want to see in sort of a members version of Mac powers, let us know because we are thinking through that and and hope to move into something like that a little bit later this summer. Yeah, WE WANNA. Bring more if you guys wanted, but you know enough. Enough that you have to want it to make it worth the trouble and a lot of the stuff people. We were already doing it. We got a free form. We've got a newsletter we got. We got a lot of this stuff. Already that you get just because we love you, so we're trying to figure out where we fit best. We will have something. Stay tuned. We're doing a show life, which is kind of fun. Yeah, we are with nothing to do super often, but we figured. Hey, it's such a fun week, and because people are at home. We thought we would record this one live so it is live as we. going out to a bunch of people so that that's always a fun funding to. all right, so just want to start at the top. Yeah, we can either go chronologically, or we can kind of pick and choose I'll follow your lead. If you WanNa, do let let's start from the top because they had, they had an order and a plan they saved the most interesting stuff in a lot of ways to the end, because so many changes on the Mac. Yeah, but uh, it was interesting the way they went through today. One of the observations all make about this keynote. If you haven't watched it at home, this was one of the most efficient keynotes I've ever seen apple put on. They were just flying through the segments. There were no silly are demos. There was no game demos. It was like we got this Bam Bam, Bam Bam Bam Bam. Here's a guy from the next platform and. I thought that was good. I liked that part I'd like the format a lot I think it was all pre taped I. Don't think any of that was live. Oh, yeah, definitely. I like that. They were a large number of people who weren't sort of regular. White men that are at the top of Apple. I thought that was really great. And I think they did a really good job with a this is different right, so we see different presenters in different parts of Apple's campus. They sorta played some jokes with that about like the Secret Mac lobbying under the fountain in the Middle Way Underground I got a chuckle. Saw Kevin Lynch in the fitness center I think they did a really good job with this. And while I really do hope that WDC becomes an in person event again in the future when the pandemic subsides I gotta say I liked the way this came together. The first couple of times they did the zoom from one place to the next. I thought it was kind of cheese. And then I'm like Oh this is chemical seen different areas that I may never get a chance to see in person. And also is it just me or has the fitness center done a number and Kevin Lynch? That guys fit now. Yeah, he's got a beard. He's got shaggy hair. I like the new Kevin Lynch yeah. I mean the long pass or the days. He was in fights with apple over flash. Oh I, know! It was, it was great, and it was well represented. They had people of Color. They had women. They had people with disabilities. And it was you know, but it I think in typical apple fashion. These were not people brought up there. Just because of the you know that they were because he their titles you could see. They were people that were working on these projects, and it's great. You know I think that's the way it should be totally agree.

Florida Governor Deploys National Guard To Force Residents Back Into Malls, Movie Theaters

"Lord is taking new measures to protect the state from the threat of Corona virus here, how Governor Ron Santa's plans to deploy national. Guard troops to force residents back into the states, malls, movie theater, and later amid growing budget cuts the United States Postal Service is looking to save some money by dumping all the mail in one big pile for everyone to go. We've got the latest on where that big pile of mail is. So you can start rummaging for your envelopes from the onion and onion public radio I'm leslie price and this is the topical. My bosses I'm not allowed to drink anymore seltzer while I'm recording because it makes too much, but I think he's full of Shit. Stay with us. Excuse me. As Corona virus cases continue to grow throughout the US. One state has decided to take drastic measures to overcome the pandemic earlier this week. Florida Governor Rhonda Santa's used his executive power to deploy the State's National Guard to force residents back into malls, movie theaters, and other businesses joining us now with more details as OPR's burke. Clint Remmy, what led to this decision by the Governor Well Leslie Florida officials say they're taking these measures. After millions of residents continued to avoid open restaurants and bars, and blatantly ignored government guidelines to get back out there and save the economy. I spoke to Jeff Pemberton A. A representative from Governor to Santa's his office. Who had this to say? No one wanted it to come to this, but the state's residents left us. No choice so the governor has signed an emergency measure that sense troops to our hardest hit areas to make sure people. There are getting out of their house and staying in stores until they buy something. HM, rummy! Aren't these actions a little extreme? They are in Pemberton acknowledged that this will unfortunately caused a huge blow to the state's population, but he insists that practicing social consumerism is the state's only option to stop this plague of economic downturn. Here's. Here's Jeff Pemberton again simply put irresponsible people are not taking the government advisory seriously by refusing to take the family to the cheesecake factory for dinner and pick up a few things at and barrel on the way home. We're putting all kinds of corporations endanger. We are at a breaking point where these rules must be enforced. The new measure also makes it illegal for the state's twenty one million residents to congregate in restaurants and food courts with fewer than ten people in the National Guard is authorized to question any individual who doesn't look like they've had a haircut in a while or whose roots? Roots are showing to make sure they've made an appointment at a local salon or barbershop. If they haven't those who are looking shaggy, are subject to a two hundred dollar fine, and will be taken to the nearest super cats well, even if they're trying to grow it out, that's right sounds so draconian. However Floridians responding to these new regulations for some residents, the governor's executive order is already taking a toll. Look. I realized that keeping the economy going is more important than everyone's health, but there has to be a balance I don't need any more scented body lotion from bath and body works. Eight games in a row. I don't know how much more my arm can take. They told me they shoot me with beanbag guns if I didn't pay to reserve the lane for the whole. Mural customized. You can't go to the hair to see honored. As the kind of Art God, I would that would make you laugh and cry, and his perfect for the whole family. Now if you do not buy your ticket to the four forty five screen, and then slowly make way. What are the confessions Dan to a large popcorn, drinks and candy of choice, we'll use force while some people could be incredibly selfish. Yes, and unfortunately there are some large groups of protesters trying to defy the orders. We have some audio of the National Guard, moving in and a crowd of people who were trying to leave a mall in Orlando without the required number of full shopping bags. So me. Shop Man. We could do this the easy way or the hard way, but you're going to go into that nail salon and you're going to Pat Yourself. The National Guard were finally able to control the crowd by using tear-gas to corner them a Sunglass Hut until they all bought ray bans. It's sad that this is what it takes to get some people to do. What's right for? For the economy, but remmy are officials worried that this could lead to an increase in corona virus cases. They're taking that into account, but Pemberton noted that those who will suffer the most will be the poor and people in nursing homes, and they don't have that much money to spend anyway well, that's not so bad. Then thank you ramming. That's OPR's Remmy Berkeley back in a

"So welcome thank you. It is an honor to be here Thank you both for your work that you do within this podcast but also outside Of It You are both and inspiration to me as well My name is Kim Smith. Ill Adult Day It's a doc on the Audition on National Shogun Hello Relatives My name is Kim Smith. I am Dinette. Bitter Water Woman Who hails from? A small village called Saint Michael's Arizona And now I live in another village. Another village call hug back New Mexico. Thank you thank you for having me. We are so thrilled that you're here came. Let's start the episode of by discussing how you came to understand that violence on the land is violence on our bodies. It took Me Really Looking. Got My spirit looking at how it is broken In the sense of how my body is reacting to the things that are in my environment I have an autoimmune disease. I have rheumatoid arthritis And you know having that type of disability can be very Hard and you know. Feeling the pain the intense pain and you know thinking about the land and how the land is hurting and thinking about it on that context of why. Why is the land hurting? And why is my body my spirit taking about in And so really expanding on that and thinking about it but also looking at things on the outside world as well you know because there are a lot of communities like my own are exploited That have these the rape of the land as you mentioned And really the deep understanding that I had the privilege of learning the most was on our walk and he called by the journey for and what that is is it was journey. of young women organizing A pilgrimage to our sacred mountains and there's six sacred mountains and when we first started the walk said there's four sacred mountains and come to find. There's a lot more than that you know. And so it was really this scouting mission for us of finding our original selves. You know reconnecting back to our homelands and These mountains are sacred because we believe our deities live there in their connected to our creation stories and from two thousand thirteen to two thousand fourteen. We really started to look at our communities. Like why are we in the state that we are in And so in me and my analysis of that I had to look at where I am rooted and looking at it from that type of Lens you know there is a coal mine five miles away to the east of me and then to the south of me. There is a transfer station for gas natural gas and so really looking at it. Like in that context of okay. This is how the community the this is how the earth is being broken and this is why I'm broken essentially And so it was really this idea of the idea that was planted in to me of okay. How are you going to heal it? How are you going to make things better? And I've been taking you know. Taking the prayers to the mountain is something that has helped me to do all of the healing. I feel I have done up until this point. And that really shows the connection the power of the reconnection that we have to their into the deities and to these sacred places and also the responsibility really that it takes to to make those pilgrimages to be in tune with nature with the elements as deny people. The elements are dis. Water is a deity air as a deity. And you know we need those things to live and when you're connected with that it's so healing and I feel that and it came from the walk. Can you tell us a little bit? More about the walk How long was it? How long were you on the road at? What were some of the things that you saw on this journey So in the Bay journey for existence we walked over fourteen hundred miles in the span of a year We started in the winter and the choice to go in the winter. Had to do with In honor of our ancestors who were forced to go on the long walk in the dead of winter like if we want to Honor them and so we left in the winter and For me I think of it as a modern day scouting what what type of monsters are on our land. It's a lot different. When you're walking on the land as the CO as opposed to driving through it you know you feel you hear you smell Can you hear different things and at the same time? You're connecting the DOTS in listening to elders and community members and sharing stories. And you know you're remembering or reconnecting to These places and it's just so incredible in that's where I met Matija She came and photographed us on our first leg of the walk in It the feeling and the things that we have seen It's so mind boggling that we are we were and continually are in that state.

"Merriam Webster's word of the day for May twenty third. Today's word is shaggy dog spelled as to hyphenated words S. H. A. G. G. Y. Hyphen D. O. G. Shaggy dog is an adjective that means of relating to or being a long drawn. Out Circumstantial story concerning an inconsequential happening. That impresses the teller as humorous are interesting but the hearer as boring and pointless also of relating to or being a similar humorous story whose humor lies in the pointlessness or irrelevance of the plot or punch line. Here's the word used in a sentence from the New York Times by Ben Canning's Berg a shaggy dog tale that treats crisscrossing forklift traffic as site worthy of the Blue Danube Waltz. The German feature in the aisles mostly takes place in an anonymous highway side. Megastore the origin of the adjective shocking dog isn't truly known. But lexicographer Eric Partridge Rather believably tells us that originated with a shaggy dog story of the amusing sort that involves of course a shaggy dog today the word sometimes refers to a rambling story that impresses the teller as humorous or interesting but the hearer as boring and pointless but it can also refer to a similar story or movie or TV show. That is actually humorous. And whose humor lies in its very.

"Of shaggy and his fantastic So it wasn't me was written by Shaggy and Rick Rock and Brian Thompson and Sean Sting Pizzonia. It was released July eighteenth Two thousand was the first single shaggy's two thousand multi-platinum album hotshot and it was shaggy first number one single yes. I'm sorry. Can I already start this with a very stupid question? Sure because I don't know what stings. Real name is. Is this the actual? This is stink. No no no no. This is a guy named okay. Okay okay the full the full thing they call him his stings stinging international. But it's but it's funny and I did have to do a double take because of something that we'll talk about later. Was I interrupt you this first number one single his first number one single. It was huge. This song was huge. The song kind of still is huge. You'll hear all the time it was. It was a number one on the hot one. Hundred is number one on mainstream top forty. It was number three hot rb hip hop song for the year end. Hot One hundred's it was number twelve and the decade end. Hot One hundred's it was number eighty one so it was a huge song and it also hit number one in Australia. Belgium euro charts France. All over like a lot of it was it's worldwide internationally huge and you just you hear it all the time. There's also two versions. One is a cleaner version and one is this version. They say like kissing on the bathroom floor and stuff like that. There are alternate lyrics. Knows your screener. That's nothing about it's about cheating. How do you make cleaner when you said cleaner? I just thought there was a line that made clear that he had cleaned disaffected floor. Yeah don't worry. There was yeah. I spent an hour scrubbing. I believe the whole thing. Nothing survived that okay. I see what you see. What you mean by cleaner I understand that sound different thing from what I was thinking. I E yeah Yucky but I was thinking man This a lot of people think the song is autobiographical or comes from true events but and there was speculation about it but shaggy cleared it up. It actually comes from a bit in Eddie. Murphy's hit special. Roth called no loyal men and.

"With her I mean you know does she. She just says well. What do you have to save yourself? I actually feel like they're probably wasn't a lot of conversation. Because if this go friend is again so stone cold right that you can watch this whole thing happen and then I think and not say anything and not stop and wait until the whole thing's over. I think she's like you said she's like well. Well well She's there she's like you know turns the viewfinder on the camera around. It's play. He can see that she's got it on camera and she just hands it to him. Picks up a for door and walks out the door right right and she's just like you're you're busted and we're going to give you the satisfaction of yelling and screaming about Short Sean. You done okay. Go Talk to your boy shaggy About this and 'cause leave me alone because that's the end of it yeah So we are once again. Told honeyman comrade red-headed crippling the garlic store which this the bathroom Terry Muster lubbock banging on the bathroom floor bubba. How would you believe me? I thought it was no. That's different. I had tried to keep her from what she was about to see. Why would she believe me when I told her it wasn't me so he's saying he's saying to shaggy like you gotta give me something more? 'cause you're all you're saying is it wasn't me okay. That's your first piece of advice. What's your second piece of advice right? Well first of all he's saying. I tried to keep the cheating hidden from her. Shell kind so kind exactly exactly well first of all a doi because if she knew about it then it wouldn't be cheating right. That's the whole point. If you're cheating is that the other person doesn't know but yeah second melies look. I was trying to hide my infidelity from her to spare her feelings. So really good guy and the question is only. How are you doing that by locking the front door to which she has a key by be not being aware of when she would be coming over and also being completely oblivious to anything that was happening around me but other than that? I worked really hard to try to hide this. Yeah and then he says why would she believe me when I told her it wasn't me so again? Shaggy charitable plan. I mean just atrocious. I really got to be clear on this. This is not helping me at all. Maybe Shaggy telling him that it wasn't him. There wasn't shaggy. He's like I know I I've seen the pictures again again. Shaggy I think this is just a miscommunication hearing me right now. It's tell you where this might be. Maybe which is saying is go. Tell your girlfriend that. I didn't cheat on her so she should come over here. If she's maybe shoulder to cry on yeah ask your girlfriend if she wants to come over and date me. Shaggy. I don't seem like you're receptive to this idea. I have to say okay so now. Here's the second thing that Jackie says again. I am excited that I can introduce this To the whole world because no one knows what.

"Why am about to move on because either Rick? Rack is an idiot or he wanted to get caught or both because the next line is how could I forget that I had given her an extra key? What are you doing? Oh man what he doing now she could get into the apartment. Anytime you've got gotta think these things through he he wants to get caught. He wants to go. 'cause THERE'S NO WAY. I mean he's I think that that was my reaction to it too was he said how could I have given her an extra like that's true. How could you have forgotten she? She's your lady. I mean unless you literally gave it to her last week and then you're looking at your extra key to give it to this next door neighbor. How do you forget? Or if it was his key and was like I lost my keys so weird maybe my has a key and then you know next one to another but the key. I mean this is a serious relationship. So He's Oh yeah. Yeah this is definite cheating. I mean he's own and he's upset that he got caught. I mean it's not like you know he's taking this ride. If you are a cheating right you and you don't want to get caught cheating. Do you have to take precautions. This is the this is the most. Because we're gonNA find out later that she is in the apartment for a while while this is going on the whole reason motor inns exist is for this exact purpose. I got motorin. You go to a motorin. Absolutely you go. I'm GONNA throw a crazy here. Go next door. She lives now. What's going on in her in her house. I mean it's it's possible but I'm just saying they've you don't WanNa get caught right then. Why are you doing in your apartment you could? You would go to her place. You could go like you're saying anywhere else sir you know maybe you have an SUV. Figure that out and saying they're bathrooms everywhere right. Yeah go to Wendy's Burger King sure Yeah be like Humpty Hump Okay. That's a good reference. Anyone who gets that okay? So yeah so. He forgot that a given extra key all this time she was standing there. She never took her eyes off me. How does he know that it was? He watching her. The whole time just did not stop what he was doing or did she say that later on d think well. Here's the thing because yeah well. I think I'm assuming that. She said that that she was like I watched you the whole time. I also try to interpret that as to whether he meant that she watched him the whole time in the act or once. Her presence is known. And he's like desperately trying to explain and apologize. She's a staring daggers. At him like unblinking now. I think it's that she was they in the act all over the place and she was right staring at him but I think when he's denying it she's saying I saw the whole thing right right right. I watched the whole time. Yeah Yeah yes. So he's he's getting that information second hand but I think he's probably not in a position to question it undermining the fact that Shaggy's advice is really bad absolutely totally clear advice. Shaggy's advice is it is really really bad but I think again when you know when she's like I washed through the entire time I don't think he's in a position to be like really the whole time getting blink say. I don't know if you watch me the tire. Oh not the time for this time to get into A. I'm sorry reporter please we back. It's said the whole time city. Hold on board second shaggy this working. Yeah she doesn't care about. She's not engage. Be An okay. Let's try something. Yes I never took never took her eyes off me okay? Now this next part and I'm talking to you Rachel yes. This is what shaggy says. This is shaggy spitting rhymes. Because here's the thing I could pick up a couple of words and I got chest but much like many many years ago with With snow I was entirely clear was being so I never had any clue before I started doing research on the song I had no clue what he was setting. Yeah I was just like do do do do do do do do but do so. The Parwan harbored Barbara Barbara Right. So this is what he's saying listening to the dulcet tones of Shaggy. Yeah Yeah so. This is what he was saying since. You probably don't know and feel free you guys to stop at any point if you want to comment or question. Here's what he was saying. How can you give your woman access to your villa trespass and a witness you cling to your pillow? You Better Watch your back before. She turned into a killer. Let's review the situation. You got caught up in okay so I love that those preface to this love. He's like I don't you know here. Here's where you first step went wrong. You are key you do that. Why did you do that? Teach trespassing now. So let's just let's. Let's do a pros and cons situation. I'm going to break out the whiteboard. We're GONNA go through what you're what you're doing here. The line about the white about trespassing. I witnessed while you cling to your pillow. I guess okay when fifty four pillows. Well that's the thing. It feels like they did it everywhere except the bed so I don't know where the pillow comes from also had lives in villa. Yeah he's pretty fancy place yeah. I don't think he's in an apartment I think he's in a fancy place. I mean it's Rick Rob for God's Sakes in yeah absolutely I mean he's probably he's probably living the high life so so yeah that's just loved it. That basically a shaggy has things to say before he really breaks down. What do he's like? How could you have done this well? Okay so if if you gave her a key right and she knew are admitting publicly that she is your girlfriend. She is not trespassing. Okay that is not that is not going to hold up in court. No Okay Shaggy esquire. That isn't an the judge is not going to allow you to admit that into evidence so she is definitely not trespassing. Let's start there cling to your pillow. I mean I I guess he just needed something. I actually not sure what that's supposed to meet. I was going to say you need something that rhymes but you could still use the word pillow without cling to your pillow. Because it sounds like he's desperately holding on which if he is good for him by then I love this. You Better Watch your back before. She turns into a killer now. Here's the thing this has this. I well I think this goes back to shaggy giving terrible advice this this goes back to the theme of Shaggy. Not being very good at this. 'cause yeah he's a mealy jumpy to oh she's GonNa kill you. Oh you better watch out. It's something he comes back to right around and it's like look he gets down on it. She Shaggy obviously and understandably she is upset but that does I mean not. Everyone jumps to murder homicide. Come on man. Well you know how women are. You know how you better watch how they are like. Okay Man I just wonder if girlfriend came to him for advice to if he's a mutual friend he he was just like. Oh Wow you must be pretty upset. And she's like yeah totally upset and and he's like Probably murder right own. He's like but you probably do right. I think about it though. I mean I think probably the best way to handle. The situation is to kill him. I mean I'm just saying I the dear. Abby of of this neighborhood is telling you that's probably the best advice is to then he realizes it's then he realizes what he's done. Has the conversation with Rick Rock and halfway through? He's like I should probably clue him into the fact that I just a little bit of a heads up. It's like probably yes. Yes she's look she's probably going to kill you. I don't know where she would have gotten an idea like that but I'm just saying that's probably the thing that's going to happen or it would have gotten a gun. Oh she didn't tell you that she has a everyone is maybe she has a gun with the serial number five shaggy things like that so that you can mumble a bit and I told her I told her she could Kale you. What when you say Shaggy Murder. What what are you saying? Leaving Shaggy's house being like. Wow that is something to think about. Thanks. You know what? He's a good friend. I will say this Michael before we move on. I like that theory. However I've had friends like shaggy and I can guarantee he is not a mutual friend. She does not like him and wishes her boyfriend would stop hanging out with shaggy and makes every effort to get him away from Shaggy and to stop texting shaggy and stopped going over. Shaggy's house to hang out and play xbox. Yeah she's not crazy about very clear on that. Okay so let's review the situation. You're caught up in a to be a true player. You have to know how to play. If she stay a night convince her to stay a day never admit to a word when she say and if she claimed I you tell her baby no way who wants to start to break that down supposed to stay the night the first line to be a true player. You have to know how to play. That's just that's just commonsense. Everybody knows if if you're gonNA play you gotTa know how to be a player absolutely. I mean Kenny. Rogers taught us that. I mean you know W- League xactly don't hate the player hate the game. But here's my question. Who's staying the night and who's going to stay a day. The lady like Your Lady. Is he saying? Listen if she's GonNa if she has decided that she's going to stay for the night for the day low her into a false sense of see if he can figure this out or is he talking about this the Next door neighbor because that seems like terrible advice. If she's saying that I have her say the day 'cause that's just opening up to being found out even more I don't know I'm trying to figure out. Guess he's saying like don't let her out of your sight like don't let your girlfriend like she was somewhere else and then came in that. Maybe maybe it's if the girlfriend if she wherever she was if she was away for the night maybe she should convince.

"There's a little seen Li Yep which I love there are sound effects Ray. Crock knocking on the door. Knock knock knock and says what do you want man. So okay now. I have a question here. So Rick Rock knocks on the door. Knock KNOCK KNOCK. Someone answers the door And is that person who's speaking and I'm asking you somewhat for your expert opinion. Rachel sure you research this. Maybe you know maybe you don't. We can discuss yes but as the person who is that actually shaggy rip rock saying open up man in the first line saying open up man and shaggy saying what do you want man. So if you'd like I can play the role of Rick Rock for this Dan. You can play Schalke. You feel that would be better well. The reason why I'm asking is because then later. When Shaggy is singing he had away put. This has a certain quality short short when he singing that is not present in the person who opens the door. So I wasn't sure if that was actually shaggy or that was a friend and then shaggy was some sort of like omnipotent narrator who who was talking to us from another plane of existence so shaggy. Sorry it's just when he's talking. He sounds very different than when he's singing in yet. He's he's not some magical genie that shows up now. He is also imagine having to go round talking. The Way Shaggy sings for. I know if somebody comes up to and they are speaking to you. The Way Shaggy sings. You should get them to see a doctor they need an EMT like stat. I want each one of us to attempt a shaggy impression before this episode is over because I'm not entirely even sure how to begin lake. I feel like you have to like swallow your tongue while trying to do a kermit. The frog impression man's while also hanging upside down like I'm not clear on. How one does that. I know exactly what it is like. I can hear it in my head. Perfectly yet cannot figure out how to make that sound. Come out of my mouth. It's almost like if I imagine the sound of a chainsaw but cannot replicate this out. Obviously it's a very similar thing through the way shape it's true and then I also have a couple of kids an artist. What can I say? Yeah look that's that's what we're here to say. This is the most important thing so knock knock knock Rick Rock all right. Let's do a little spiel okay. So you're playing. Who are you playing you playing Rick Rock? I'll be Rick Rock Me Rick Rock. I'm the parentheses. Now I look I script tell me so. Let's see let's you read the stage directions okay. You're the drama dromedary up Interior Shaggy's place two thousand open up man. What do you want man? My girl just caught me. You let her catch you. I don't know how I let this happen with the girl next door. You know man. I don't know what to do. Say A wasn't you all right and and Michael Constructive Feedback I think we're looking at to Tony Award nominees. Thank you thank you so much. I only Tony. Is that baby deal? But I yeah I WANNA say Rachel yes. You got the part really. Congratulations Ma you are. You will be play. Rick Rock in my remake of the song it wasn't me so yes so knocks on the door. My Girl Commie and he's like what do I do? And then shaggy says it wasn't me now here again. There's a couple of things I wanted to be very clear here on the top first of all I think people don't understand the guy who's saying or the guy who who's who's singing the Song Rate Hussein actually coming in the shower that's not check shaggy now. I understand how that would be confusing because it seems like. That's the lead person in the song but and then it's credited shaggy totally understand how you would soon that Shaggy Notch aggie Same thing with Shag other song angel. The person who's singing sweetly about his angel notch. Aggie jags the other guy. Yes the second thing is I think at the time when the song was out there a lot of people are making jokes about how dumb the song was because the guy was car handed and they were like. Oh just say it wasn't me I do want to point out. I here's the pirating inject you with my knowledge bomb is that that is the point of the song at the end is even very clearly laid out but shaggy saying say it wasn't me and saying yeah but she she. She had me on camera. Like what you got me. And he's like no no no say it was me back shaggy that stupid. You're not helping me at all actual advice your advice to me. You just pony shabby so what he's saying. All those things like she got camera she stayed until it was over. He's like this is not helping me. This is not working Jaggi. This is very bad advice. So you're giving me in fact. I'm not even sure why I came here. It's always helpful. When a chorus serves. The story of course is just a chorus in this point. I feel like I feel like Rick Rock. Every time he does the chorus is like okay. Let's start this over again. Let me see if you can hear this. This time. She caught me in the shower. It wasn't okay let's stop let's blitz. Let's slow down again. She caught me red handed. It wasn't me okay. Forget it. Let's just move on. Listen Shaggy I want you to listen to the words that I'm saying okay because I feel like you're not fully hearing me. I even had her in. The shower. Wasn't me okay. See All right. I'm going to get a coffee and come back from the album. Shaggy's bad advice. Yeah this is yeah. This is from the album. Don't ask shaggy any question. In fact there's another song on it called go ahead. Eat The yellow snow right. And you're like stop telling people this terrible advice. He had a song called invested in Enron. There was a lot of a lot of stuff that he was not was not handing out good advice on okay so we did our little scene late and then it starts with honey came in and she got me red handed creeping with the girl next door picture. This everyone in your mind. We were both buck naked. Banging on the bathroom floor I have a couple things to say about that but I've been talking a lot. Does anyone else have a comment? Just I forget love like a like a classy love ballad. Yup So. It's nice to do like that. Yeah well I mean what is perhaps Nice is that Rick Rock is like this is not a romantic. He's not in love this girl but okay. So here's I'd say first of all. I love the creepy very very early two thousand Slang Perfectly with the with the girl next door also again expand Rick Rock. Now we gotta talk about you. Man Expand Your Horizons Look. I am not in any way favor of infidelity. I feel like if you want to be with other people. You got to be honest with your partner either break up or have some sort of understanding. I think this is one of the worst things you could do to another person especially someone you're supposed to be in love with however if you're going to do it not with the girl next door man and you need some space first of all you're going to get really messy second call. It's in your home. I mean you're asking for trouble what he wanted to be caught. Rick Rock wanted to be caught. He felt he never felt comfortable about this. He did didn't feel it. He knew he was doing something wrong. He wanted to be caught. His moral center could not take it. So yeah he wants to either. He wants to break up right and so. This is a way of forcing that issue. That he's he's GonNa get caught because again it's one thing to be cheating. You're always endanger if you're cheating but if you're next door she's right there at any second short she could cook to come over and confess anything they're gonNA to run into see to gonNA run into each other. She could see something suspicious to your goal hallway. You you're just asking for trouble to the point where I agree with Rachel. I think you're trying to get caught. That's how bad it is The second thing is beyond that or at least related. -Ly this is just lazy. It says she's right there. She's next door that's it. That's as far as you looked not. Good okay other than I wanted to say. Is I love the picture. This really is. Just get an image in your. Do you think he like picture. This shaggy was like I'd rather not thank you picture this into lights up interior. I'm knocking on your door. You pitching me. A play of what just happened Picture this were both naked banging on the bathroom floor ill. It was doing somewhat on the bathroom floor. Come on no I mean I I appreciate passion but you are a towel down some robes. We I mean I mean that's better than nothing but yeah I mean we are Talking Colt. We are talking slippery and we are talking germs. We're talking to the bathroom for here. People okay I hope maybe bathrooms because I'll tell you what I live in a small New York apartment and if I tried that I mean so uncomfortable. I mean you'd be halfway out the door. Let's be honest like when people talk about banging in a car. Your car is because it just seems so uncomfortable to me. I mean unless this can't unless this is like a stretch limo. I mean thank God for Suv's now. But I mean come on I just think this I mean maybe the squarespace square footage in an SUV. But still. There's there's too much stuff in the way to get into a comfortable. You know what I will say this about the about banging on the bathroom floor a floor. Easy CLEANUP BE. Maybe they have like a fainting couch. Have you ever seen old school? Nineteen Forties Michael. I'm thinking Joan Crawford's bathroom probably had one totally. There's like some sort of couch or or something in there. The woman had a refrigerator and a coffee maker in there. Come on right right. So maybe it's one of those fancy ones first of all. I'M GONNA say probably not second of all I don't I don't care how big and fancier bathroom is I don't want anything fabric based because it is never going to be clean enough okay. Yeah tile absolutely granite. Yeah you can scrub that down. Wipe it down. Do a little disinfectant. But I don't want anything that's GonNa again that that's going to have fabric based is just gonNa suck up smells and germs and all other kinds of stuff. No absolutely not. I'm sorry. Did you say coffeemaker? Yeah had she listen? Joan Crawford headed all look. I'm going to to the audience out there. If you're listening to this at some point in the future is currently April may excuse me. It's May the start of May in the year two thousand twenty so at this particular time. Maybe I'm extra sensitive to the IDEA OF GERMS. However still against this struggling bill no laying on the bathroom floor for any reason unless you got out of the shower and through your backout but that is the only reason you should be laying naked on the bathroom floor and look. Maybe you live in a bathroom okay. But you can. You can walk the not again. I'm sure this guy lives in a small apartment. You can walk the seven feet to your bed and at least do it on the bedroom floor. Okay 'cause you know we'll see I'm guessing. No stone was left unturned. In this. In this tryst. So we'll say this. I'm glad that this is the line that fixating on for most of the show right now. This is this line. This is the rest the rest of the Sun will be in part to.

"From elite infamously told her fans that he was gonNA release an album for the end of two thousand nineteen. Obviously obviously that hasn't happened Rana's apples and tab which I argue was her best album She has released albums since then. So there's been the It's called our nine. That's what it called around nine am I mean The release date. The secrets of it started kind of getting hit. Detox proportion documentary detox. Dr Raise Detox famously was teased in previewed foot. Fifteen years foot and it is close to that never came out Now Abba had an adverse hadn't taken fifteen years 'cause anti came up through that and seventeen but now any information that comes out about it fans automatically latch onto. Yeah so today's Shaggy reggae artist shaggy came out and said that he was asked to be on. Our nine of the one consistent. Rumor about our nine is that it's going to be mostly reggae. You which I'm all for because I like reggae. Riyan is very good a patois because he's from Athens. She's Bob for you. I don't know if you've been Baba's so shaggy said he the interview and said he was asked to be a part of our nine. But there's a huge be. Ut C declined it because he was asked to audition he said Yeah. He's his exactly what they approached me for the project because a lot of great people involved but for me. I didn't audition to be on the record. I'll leave that younger guys but from what I hear it would be. It should be great Slough to him. I'll how he handled day after that but shaggy been in the industry for quite some time so he not nudity this jake like Can help pave the way for this came out like a ninety four. You want me to what a funny story so if I let you you know get your after I say this out the Glenn the doctor Kanye West's two thousand eight two eight eight two thousand nine because graduates now came out and Riyadh was one of the openers Ronald Steele like I remember. I desperately wanted to go to tour. The openers were Lupe Riana any audie. And in Cognac Rondo was right before ending was Kinda Indiana came out and thousand floor at floor seats and not by them by Scale shattered scalpers. I did by by for the price so me and the personnel with run floor and When and came time for the stage to change from loop Adriana people started getting up? They're like we wanna see her because at that time she just put out Birla had just come out so she wasn't really like reality. We know now people start getting up and leaving. She finally did come out as people were like walking around. You don't get food. Whatever she came out seeing Mr boombastic by Shaggy Ironic onic which for her which was smart because people knew that song more so they knew a lot of time so the fact that she actually going to be on it in then and didn't and it had made them I can show? I appreciate Shaggy Nudist. She was opening set to his. I think he's probably good. I'm sure huge Yankee. What would you do? I probably wouldn't public. I probably would have answered the same way but when I read that come across my email I probably would have been cursing stone a desk. I gotTA audition. I'm shaggy. She know who I am. Check my stats do. It wasn't me with a WHO's WHO's own Miami. That whole that was huge. Angel in Man I played the crap editor down here is so I would like to check my stats late. You know pull well a number. I need to pull a mobile more. Like I gotTA audition if I will say that's probably I would've asked like reply to it with my team around me. I think it wasn't was it so much that we're here to audition because you know once again I'm I'm I'm Brianna Navy leg behalf. I love the behalf shattered behalf but when it comes to like you the navy man. I'm a I'm a I'm a card carrying Riyadh and navy in the Navy I serve I serve I serve in the navy military very strongly But we're going to be honest. Fans Briana has a team of writers and people around her that hypocrite albums. I'm pretty sure so team. That's it now. YOU HAVE TO AUDITION RANDOM PRODUCT TO SAY ANYTHING ANYTHING RANDOM PROBABLY THEY PROBABLY will publicity team of writers and somebody because I highly doubt Rana's probably the place we asked me to song and how it's supposed to sound didn't send the to me but I'm not GonNa sit here through building tau crater process. I'm pretty sure at the beginning of the creative process. The songwriters our team was like okay. Let's Shag ask them to send his verse backs yet. Sounds and then we'll tell them how much more respect for shaggy than that she might be. You know what she might see this report and reach out to him. Personally I got you. Yes yeah she might. She just might think that type of person but I feel like once this album. Come out if it's not what people expect it. They're going to hate it. Because I feel like the hype. Four art and the anticipation for is building up to that level so once he comes out and is not what if anything less than stellar amazing people people are going to hate it which is kind of south fans do these days. That's why I'm not in so much of a huge rush to get the new APP because that was so good and I hate when all just have to live up to who their last albums expectations because sometimes it's almost impossible to do. Which is why? I'm not really like lose my mind al-Qaeda's getting out of that and I'm like there's a lot of follow up to y'all have a bad album so the one time you put out one is so it's GonNa hurt bad and he's GonNa hit hard. Jd famously retired and then came back with That was that income. Tatum come hard. Listen Bro it's not. It wasn't good credit and such and black hallet's spam was. Was It thirty new Ford Twenty again. This man I mean I get it every transition but that was just not Karenni backdoor and making Gangsta. Thank God for that good. Who Saving Grace? 'CAUSE MAY ASK IT locally. Famous retired and came back and expertise takes thirteen all right now. I'm Jay just put it out. I was like the running right back to Los Angeles banks right back to acting. But Yeah so shout out to Ron I'm still looking forward to the album but I'm looking forward to it but I have Sandwich Sam. I'm really interested. I'm really interested in how all reggae album from Riano will sound region is no rag nation in a distributed. Now let 'em I mean granted. She has the power to say like. I'm doing what I want. But in terms of like singles reggae songs don't traditionally charts super high but again I like it by Cardi B. J. Alvin in a bed. Bunny hit number one. So it's possible that working for along the road So bad a little boost and he was in the news. Recently.

"So I can see this fun. Fact, the shaggy dog was first proposed as a TV series to the ABC network. I can kinda see it being more of a TV thing. I could see it working for TV very easily. Yeah. The first thing I said when we started watching it was this feels incredibly leave it to beaver. If anyone's seen that show. I mean, the mom sounds identical to the mom on leave it to beaver got two sons big on adventure. The dad is a little little tough love but still loving. He really annoyed me. But we'll get to that. When we go to characters. So the network was already airing Disney's Zorro the Mickey Mouse club, and it was still running the Disneyland program. So they rejected the idea the shaggy dog is the series, but Disney decided decided to produce a feature film using that concept. So Bill Walsh who had worked as. A producer on much of Disney's early TV content. He created a screenplay suggested by the how to Florence Meg brought up before. And they went onto right? Three play. Or he went Walsh went onto rates replace for number of Disney. Live action features including Poppins and the love bug. What you just said. Love bug is Herbie, right. Yeah. And Mary popular comedy is what are both funny. Right. I'm so excited. Hitting their guys. It isn't a surprise that the cast of the shaggy dog is mostly made up of teen stars from Disney. Tv shows familiar even today. So that includes Kirk and Considine. That's how you say his name. Oh, the two boys from old yeller now this so they've they've been well known to TV as stars of the hardy, boys. They were also this is the second time they played brothers because the appeared in old yeller funny. One recognize them from them from that movie on their also or going to be and Swiss family Robinson. Bon voyage, every Sam all these films that have a lot of recurring people because Walt just loves to love someone. He does that. Yeah. So as medic pointed out a net food cello has a small role in this movie, and she may have been the most popular youngster in the in the cast in nineteen fifty nine because of the Mickey Mouse club, so mega pretty excited when she came on TV or on the screen choosy. Isn't that? She's just so like well-known, and yeah, she's she's kind of. Yes, we had this diner here. And Winston when I live, and I took me in there like the walls, cover pictures, and I like, look, right. The one in the middle. That's in that finito, and he's like who. Yeah. The one conversation. That's awesome. I thought it'd be cool to point out that this was made during the Cold War just to put some history in here. And it does incorporate some undertones of war with the missiles spies plans like that. Yes. I am like the biggest history nerd and so like when. I five minutes of the movie, there's a missile, Mike. You could definitely tell this made like Cold War era, a loved it. I like when there's like little hidden things like that, maybe don't realize it right away. And then later on you're like, oh, that's so cool like goes time. Yeah. So the shaggy dog also features a rare on camera appearance by Paul frees. So Paul frees is mostly an offscreen voice for many of the Disney TV shows movies and theme park attractions. So he's also the Oprah. No. He's also the opening narration for this movie, but you might know him as the ghost host in the haunted mansion, and he's very voices in pirates of the Caribbean. The ride that's at Belk. I know I got really excited. But I don't know who he was in this movie, the ghost hosts, cool, I thought she meant he was goes. So he was the psychiatrist. What the dad?.

Disney Bill Walsh Paul Walt ABC Belk Poppins producer Florence Meg Caribbean Mary Herbie Winston Sam Kirk Mike Considine five minutes
