When the Left Doesn't Get Their Way, Cue the Hysterics

"Cut 23, judicial crisis network, journalist Carrie severino. She does a phenomenal job leaks have never happened before. This has never happened in American history. Of course they would do it for abortion. It is a sacred practice of the left. Why? I'll let you figure that out or come to your own conclusions. If you do not have the medical ability. I don't want to say medical. That's not even true. If you do not have the, let's say, sinister technology available to be able to terminate children, the left will do anything to preserve it. Play cut 23. Yeah, you know, it's absolutely jaw dropping to have a leak like this, even when you can only think of a handful of times that even just the outcome of a case might have been leaked shortly before an opinion is released. This is presumably months ahead of time and a full draft text of the opinion. But this should not surprise you though. It shouldn't surprise you because of who we're dealing with. These are the people that spied on Trump illegally, organized the entire government against him. These are the people that concocted a mail in balloting scheme. These are the people that implemented a president of the United States. These are the people that lied about the Hunter Biden laptop calling it Russian disinformation. Mobilizing 50 former Intel people to lie about it. When the left starts to not get their way, they go to extra constitutional means. Let me say that again. When the left starts to not get their way on things that really matter, like they'll allow a decision here or there, you know, school choice or whatever. They'll find work around. There is no workaround from a state allowing the outlawing of abortion. There isn't. And for them, this is the line. They need to be hysterical over this. They need to be outraged.

Carrie Severino: Joe Biden Centered Politicization of SCOTUS Nominees

"Yeah and I hope we never will I mean I think they're right and calls for civility in one level We should always be civil and so far as we're not having smear campaign We're not having character assassination I hope that no Republican ever goes down that road And I hope that I agree But stop going down that road Unfortunately I think what they mean by let's have civility is let's just vote for our nominees and move on And you know what We do owe it to the country to have a serious debate on this I also think it's just so ironic that one of the people that would like to see this quote civility is Joe Biden who you talk about the bork confirmation Do you remember who the chair of the judiciary committee was during the court confirmation who presided over the insanity It was Joe Biden Justice Thomas his confirmation Also a complete debacle a media circus who presided over that one as chair of the judiciary committee Joe Biden So the person who was the ringleader of all of the politicization that we have seen in the judicial confirmation process himself is the one who now wants everyone to just kind of play patty cake and let's be nice I don't think so I think we need to have a serious discussion Again never never something that is personal or a smear campaign but absolutely that gets into a digs into the real issues and what is your judicial approach because that is fair game but we can have a civil debate about those issues while still making sure we're really exploring them

Carrie Severino: Does Ketanji Brown Jackson Have the Votes?

"Now mechanically speaking votes wise do the Democrats have the votes It seems likely at this point we're probably going to have some defections on the Republican side I mean Lindsey Graham you can't really count on Mitt Romney Murkowski Collins typical crew You're not going to get you're probably going to get a few defections The Democrats though do you see any Democrats who could be up in the air What about Manchin I would guess sinema would probably fold pretty easily on this But what about Manchin Well you would hope those are the two that have stood up the most to the left Particularly in terms of blocking the court packing that agenda that same dark money groups were pushing and left trying to add justice to the court They stood up for that So thanks to them for that However when it comes to appointing and confirming judges they have voted for every single one every Democrat has voted for every single one of Joe Biden's nominees And that includes some very radical nominees indeed Unfortunately I think it's going to be I'm not super optimistic We are going to be able to get them to vote But I don't think that means if you live in West Virginia if you live in Arizona or frankly a lot of other states where it's easy to vote for those appellate nominees and think no one's really paying attention right They're not going to see it This is a nomination that the nation always is going to pay attached to because it's at the Supreme Court level So I think it doesn't even have to stop at that Any state where you've got a senator that should be voting for someone who has a constitutional principles right At least who has a philosophy interpreting the constitution Certainly one that should be faithful to the words of the constitution not allowing it to just evolve So I think we need to be reminding them and reminding all the senators this is part of their job They take an oath to uphold the constitution and that means to confirm people who are going to be upholding that constitution

"You know you brought up the dark money comment I find that to be hilarious because they're always attacking the right for dark money but Carrie did you ever notice it's only dark money which is obviously meant to be a pejorative when it's on the right But when it's leftist money behind the scenes trying to push prior out for a more radical judge then all of a sudden it's free speech money You notice you notice the delicate messaging act they do on that I mean you guys have been victims of this yourself with this dark money nonsense Oh absolutely In one of the senators whose most loves to talk about it he has these kind of tinfoil hat conspiracy theory charts he puts up every once in a while Sheldon whitehouse He himself accepts a lot of money from groups that if they weren't if they were conservative would be delighted dark money We know they can't be dark money because they're liberal but there's exactly the same track structure Exactly the same donor kind of structure So it's absolutely a pejorative term They only apply to groups on

Carrie Severino: Ketanji Brown Jackson Was the Most Radical Option

"You know as someone who's been involved in litigation if you're involved in business you're going to be involved in litigation It's just the way it is You can almost sadly predict the outcome of many but not all cases In federal courts by in many cases who appointed the judge Again not all I don't want to stigmatize every chair Some good judges out there have been appointed by both sides but this is happening more and more The polarization of the courts and I'm hearing this argument about replacing judge Breyer potentially with judge Jackson Oh it's not going to change the ideological bent to the court No no no no no no that's not accurate at all That's not accurate at all Judge Breyer yes tended to rule with the left wing of the court but once in a blue moon he would do the judicially a constitutionally sound thing not often but once in a while I have very little hope judge Jackson will do any of that So it will in fact change the bent to the court That's exactly right That's why these liberal dark money groups that we now know gave over a $1 billion to the president and other Democrats campaigned last year That's why they were running ads and billboards driving around D.C. trying to get Breyer off the court They know that they have no real use for them if they can get someone more radical on the court And he was probably the most moderate member of the liberal wing of the court and often trying to find a pragmatic solution rather than just going hair on fire rhetorically crazy like justice Sotomayor every once in a while gets into doing So this make a mistake This will be someone who is the most radical pick they could come up with They had a list of different short listers Everyone was talking about they chose the one that I think everyone agreed was the most liberal the most progressive of the options out there And she was the one who was being advocated and pushed by the most radical groups because they know it will shift the court And then it will also replace a justice in his 80s with the justice in her early 50s And this is going to be someone who I know there's so much going on right now that we understand how hard it is to focus on this but this is someone who will be on the court for maybe 30 or more

Carrie Severino: Ketanji Brown Jackson Has a Disturbing Track Record

"We haven't seen a lot of coverage of this unlike the Trump era when we had the three justices confirmed where it seemed like every little thing they ever wrote or talked about was the focus of a front page New York Times story Who is this judge I mean I've read some about some very controversial decisions about unions and DHS DHS powers at the border seems she has a very expansive view of one of these living constitution views and that always kind of troubles me Yeah it's very troubling and it's even more troubling that she's refusing to even acknowledge what her view is on this perspective And that's that I think is what's going to have to be really explored during these confirmation hearings So judge Jackson has spent 8 years as a district court judge so she was running trials better at the federal level in the district of D.C. and then now just for less than a year at the appeals court in D.C. reviewing those same type of decisions But in that time she has a disturbing record of several opinions that were reversed by the D.C. circuit for going beyond her own jurisdiction as a judge And in a way that looks to me to be a characteristically political So she was often reviewing Trump era regulation in overturning them in ways that even the liberal judges of the D.C. circuit because that circuit is overwhelmingly liberal Even those judges were saying with going beyond her authority she had some very intemperate language she used about president Trump during that time in one of those opinions One of them she spent a lot of time waxing poetic about the benefits of illegal immigrants to society and then went on to decide a decision that the court again including liberal judges said no actually this is clearly an entirely left the Department of Homeland Security You don't get to decide as a judge how illegal immigrants are dealt with So that's the kind of thing that gives me real pause

"Simon, our businesses can either be agile or rigid. Talk to us about the differences between these two and which one do we want to be and how do we become that type of company? And agile team and agile company can react quickly to changes a rigid one can not because they are planning system or bulky, and you need more time replanning than you can really do into executing. So rigid themes have meetings and reporting system and planning system that take too much time to change. And they can not take decisions quickly because they don't get as we discussed. These few numbers in real time. So some of it we did already installed with the weekly habit because if you have the weekly habit you get these things reported in real time, basically latest every 7 days you have this simple dashboard and you know what's going on. Then your agile. And rigid means it takes you too long to first realize that something is changing and then to act upon it. For example, today I was buying Bitcoin again for people listening to this later Bitcoin was at 61,000. And this is something that's changing every couple hours. Now I need an investment system and this decision making system that helps me scan the number noted number, know when it is low, know when to buy the dip. Nowhere not to buy and quickly informs me without me spending hours per day. And the same thing we need in our business. I need to know when sales is going down. And I want to know this really quickly. That's an agile company, because now we can directly go to our masterminds go to our clients go to our colleagues and say, hey, what's going on? Let's have a look. Let's investigate. I'm here exactly for this. I do not expect things to go always up. We are here for when things are hard. So just tell me what's not working. And let's fix it. So fire nation, when you're hearing Simon breakdown, the differences between an agile company a.

"I literally just described to you the next five days. i'm just going to be wearing cuts. Those are my go-to shirts. Everything else goes in my in my back to take over to the new apartment everything else. Besides that couple big story of the week we we talk about him survivor now. We talked about him to half today. The yankees might two and a half tobias I was talking about my roommate like when they just went. Gary at the turin homers. Take every every line just if the who was awesome and check sports rather way this weekend. We'll have boosts or the red sox. Here is friday to sunday Biggest story and we much. I think you're right in saying this. We got so tired of the setbacks. And all that. And you're like don't even say his name until he's back is back louise fucking severino thick to a boy put some putting some muscle while he's been gone for two years but you know we went through last strains and shoulder strains at tommy john and groin strains and setback after setback. And just like is he gonna pitch one inning during this four year extension and god damn tuesday. He comes in perfect situation to judge. Just basically blowing the doors off the game make it seven one was raining. Wish was perfect better conditions but he said after the game. I didn't give a shit about the rain really like i was going to pitch. No matter what paraphrasing there. He didn't say shit. But luis severino back in my god fucking awesome. Yeah i know reaction nothing the fuck rainer. No i didn't know. I thought we never talked a few months. Thought luis severino may never pitch like he was at a point where you had to become an afterthought because anytime he got in the front of our heads like luis severino coming back a tour quality at some sort of step back so i wasn't letting myself fall in love with the idea. We severino coming back until he was actually on the mound inky stadium and then it happened. He was like not to get too far out of myself. But it's like whole severino. What i want to punch her. How about like eight hundred seventy. This is the set up to chapman. Right what what is the update on elisa. Through from one hundred twenty feet yesterday. Thanks so. I think the next step is either a bull rely babies or something like that. If you have a healthy severino one is again. The back end of this bullpen. All of a sudden with chapman looking in clay home Like all of a sudden is a real include. Seven bullpen trumpster. Oh yeah that's what we're doing But my god he still has he you know he was topping out ninety five ninety four consistently i think they said when he was facing hitters. He was hit ninety. Eight re probably with the rain. Didn't wanna go full go and it was seven one and you can see. Below was picking up a little bit towards the end of his outing weddings. I didn't think he was the ninth. Rain didn't matter but now the the movement on his change was filthy. The slider was there. He's is mr beat i. It's been so it's been almost two years. I think it's gonna go well for us. He's fresh fresh. Did no one see them this year so or last year really or really long time. Yeah last faced. Last time he was on the mount was that was versus garrett cole in the astros game bleep that out he's pitch like what five regular innings since he signed the new extension he signed the beginning of what twenty eighteen hundred after twenty eighteen. So we didn't put it all out. Came back the end. The twenty ninth. Yeah he made three september starts. And i believe he pitched against the twins and then that one astros game. Maybe to astro skit. Yeah i mean real. It's five or six appearances in that. Yeah but god damn good to see him and most importantly the day after. He said he felt great. That's always a concern. Never know what he's going to feels complete normal going to go and i was worried. People don't bring him in in the rain. i get that but he can't debut. Gets the red sox like he's got a pitch before that red sox here. You can't have his first appearance two years against boston. In fenway. that's just not asking for Now it's gonna be a second appearance also likely when you pitch this weekend but good good to get two innings in under your belt. Nextstep boston but if there was just an awesome sight to see a little bit of rejuvenation to see him out there and What else they have ear. Oh severino after the game. It's still raining meredith. Maracas interviews him. She's interviewing him holding an umbrella for herself poured. She's asking questions before she's holding umbrella. He doesn't hat he's just talking her while does getting raid thrown down on him while she's only a ridiculous visual. It was a four minute interview. We don't need seven getting a cold come on doing charity umbrella. Hold and sending seventy back to the hour. I wanna see. it's funny. I want to say the video of it. The visuals just so mean. And i i love you tip tip the umbrella here i gotta find it. It's too funny to not Whereas on the meantime bigger hormones back. I assume he will make an appearance this weekend. how do we feel to mingo out of the pen. Good really good actually. Like i feel like. I've said this before about him. Were easing guy where he can translate almost similar to how i felt about. Lou is offseason..

The Rays Eliminate the Yankees In a Heartbreaking Game 5

"Me ask you this e because. In, twenty seventeen, there was this new core coming up right. And the thought was hey. Unexpected Ron made the playoffs one game away from the world series and I remember even the wildcard game against Minnesota that year was like just let this core group get a playoff series under their belt so that they get some experience and can grow with it. You got within one game of the world series one one of the world series it didn't happen. Now, there's a postseason failure in eighteen in one, thousand, nine hundred and get to the brink again, it doesn't happen in twenty losing game five of the LDS. At this point. Does it still if you're part of that group. visit. Still feel like you're ascending or do you start wonder if you've plateaued Now, you deficit they just sending I mean especially, those guys are so young you know what I'm saying like. inexperience in you know in age. So Yeah I. Mean You know going back over that run like seventeen we had to run. With all those young kids in. Out though I didn't I had I, didn't think it was gonna make the playoffs just just because we went to the playoffs in seventeen and everybody had career years we're coming back. You know with a young team I just I was surprised that we made the playoffs gotta ask. about a red sox end. In the next year, I thought nineteen, we were set up to. To to make a great run a debrecen. Obviously, we didn't do that. NFL This year you know is short season everything went on. So just to be able to to get out there and play and compete I think guys are excited. You know excited I mean I think is a lot to build on I. Don't think. I don't think you can up this year with the rest of them just because it was such a short season you don't think any. There's no like wondering are we the you know late nineties braves early two thousand braves where we're going to. We're GONNA get to a certain now they won one in ninety five to be fair to them. But then you know they're winning division after division after division losing to the playoffs losing the playoffs listen to play. Yeah I mean it does that enter the mind of this group at this point. I. Like I'm not in a group anymore so. I can't. Really tell you if they're starting to feel like that or not. You know. I was never I was never in that position I was about to say as a young player would. Myself as when I was young, I always felt like I had time like like August time to do you know what? I'm saying I got time to do, and then like I say, I, always bring up a seven because that was our year like we put it all together and that was a year and didn't happen. So starting panicking. So. You would have to ask the guys individually which year they thought that they were GonNa win in when it doesn't happen that year then you start panicking like shit maybe this this may not have you know hand. Right now all those guys play for the Yankees in they noted that the organization will do whatever they can to try to win auto free agents, auto players, and so no I think that they got time you. and. The reality is the starting rotation. Looked a lot different than what they had set out for because you thought you were going to have Severino James Paxton right behind Garrett Cole and you didn't, and obviously that changes the equation and made you have to use the bullpen differently, etc. Now, I, WanNa talk about coal for a minute see look if there's One Guy. Who acquitted himself beautifully in this Yankees. postseason. It was Garrett Cole I. Mean This Dude was everything they could've asked for he gives up one hit in this game and who knows if it's not for some weird wall overhang that Aaron judge got to familiar with maybe he doesn't even give up any hits in his five and a third innings. He. He really delivered and that you have to feel good about knowing okay. This guy is going to shove exactly the way you want him to this time of year yet. That was great to watch him be able to go out before. As that I know he wants you know what I'm saying. So it'll be good not this time next year everything rolling around you'll be fans in the stands and. Hopefully. We can have that Yankee Stadium proxy magic, and. Readiness. All the way to to we're supposed to be, which is a berated. I. What about pitching on three days Resi. What feels different like do you notice like all my arm isn't as strong I mean what? What what makes it a more difficult challenge when you're not pitching on your normal rush when you're pitching on short rest, it's not necessarily like your are being source. It's like everything else like little aches Oh you know you know you didn't get your. Your full arrest so you can't really overthrow You know watching that I felt like he was trying to give his normal effort their first ending everything was up. You know he was all kind of all over the place. Any just kinda settled in you know what I'm saying he gave us time you take a little longer than than usual and. He kinda settled into the game was able to find this delivery. That's the one thing about picking three days you have to find your delivery like. Were percent. Can you pitch at whether that? Sixty, five, percent seventy, five, percent, eighty, five percent. You know what I'm saying like you have to find that was going to make you be able to strikes in and be effective. So if it seems like you've found that right at the right time, you got to strike out and you know he kinda he kinda sail from after that I mean you have to Solo homer to tomatoes and then you know almost today what's that guy's name? You say his name well over process l. no the guy run our arousal arise arena Larussa Rhody. Almost curveball out but other than that. You know he pitched great. So yeah like you said I mean he delivered and and you know going forward that he'll be able to to to pitch in these situations you know several be able to pitch any situation. We saw what money can do to two nights ago. Yeah. Your boy came man Monte the Frazier Bryant Man, these guys these guys are in a good spot. So like I said nobody I don't think anybody in their Hispanic and not player. Wise. Anyway, you know that that's is the fans in the front office and stuff. You are the master of pitching on three days Resi and because of that even though it has a little less punch because the Yankees lost this game compared to what it would have been if the Yankees won this game. I want explore that a little bit further with you because you you did it a lot. I mean the way you did it in. Milwaukee with multiple starts down the stretch over and over again as you were just in Bistro and then we saw it in the nine playoffs as well where you did it the entire Oh nine playoffs and delivered you did it in game one and four of the AL CS is at it again in Games one and four the world series. What kind of advice did you offer Garrett Cole as he was getting ready to do it for the first time in his career as someone who did a lot and did it in big stages? You know what I didn't and I was watching the first thing that I was like man Fuck I should've called. You know what I'm saying. But I didn't he's he gates. He's he he figured it out on his own. You know what? I'm saying, I don't need to call bad like he'll call me if he did something. Yeah so I don't I don't want to bother him. I don't WanNa call him I know how he is. You know know the days before you know the day of leading up to historic. So you know I I don't want to call him but please believe I'll facetime mining when I figured out that he was making start. Well whatever you told Monte in the face time, it worked out really pitch well and game four and I was encouraged. You know see if we go through this game, there's not there's not a lot to nitpick and say, okay, this could have been done differently. This could have been done differently. We've just lost a game and. You just lost a baseball game to. All the time where we go to Tampa or we we play apple you know what I'm saying. So that's why I was so scared to play them in the playoff series because. That's the one team that I know that can fucking Peterson the series and they know it too. Yep Yet one hundred percent. It's how I felt last year too when they were playing the Astros and people like Oh we want the race I was like the race competing in the. Last. Year to we would have been counted the same. You know what I'm saying we would have been a seven game series for sure if they beat if last night got typically fucker pitches. Right move coming for the first. and. On the whole right I mean this is this is not what you are looking forward to. If you're major league baseball as far as ratings go I believe the Yankees when all is said and done at the end of this s I think they're gonNA have nine of the top ten highest rated games thus far in the playoffs they're going to have been involved in. So you know you better believe that there are going to be people who are wishing that the Yankees went as deep as possible for the sake of you know the economics of the sport, but from a pure. David Goliath baseball storyline, and there is something amazing even though it's not going to make my stomach feel-good or your Z. about the Tampa Bay rays and they're twelve dollar payroll. Taken down the big bad Yankees and Brosseau hitting the home run off Chapman after that like there's something crazy about that story how many times it I tell you that's not the way we do my career I'm not into. The raise but winning visit. I kept telling you that. The fucking raise

"Who helps you measure the markets resonance, but you need the numbers. So what we do and we say, okay, this is important for this week. Our spring length is seven days and we say, okay, we're going to improved this. What is the main metric and we write them it's a number. And then there is a secondary and tertiary metrics they are more around the confidence and usage. So user resonance in our cases, the NPS net promoter score. How happy? How confident is the team but the first one is a number that comes from the market. And it says at no. So fifteen users will be tested and four of them will be one hundred percent. Happy. For example, that's one thing that we would measure seven days later. How does innovation work in within your system? So, our innovation. When you're talking ovation. We we rely on the Blue Ocean concept of differentiating. On, on a continuous basis so we always analyze. Where we are at Where we want to be, and then there are two levels of innovation. The very long term one and the current. The current is always seven days. So some might say, but that's not. Just improvement. We would say these innovation. Because the focus of our innovation is come from the NPS. That's net promoters core. We are client what's missing what's not working what's working really well. And we ask this every thirty days will clients. Based on that, we set the focus for the week and the focus for the week is on the one current bottleneck. And we get the we get it from them. So if they say I want to double my revenue, but I just got to twenty five percent but I didn't get to one hundred percent. Than we know, okay we have to find the bottleneck in there. We will short analysis of what's the road coast, and then we start to two five quick parallel experiments that we can measure in seven days. So we test our assumptions down sumptuous. We test them in seven days in the end of the seven days, we have the result. This is how we know vacation week by week, and then there are some bigger long-term. Innovations. We get them from are blue, ocean strategy. We we call it the equalizer. We've right down the eighth things that we are going at. And then we Ask ourselves in what our competitors are investing right now. Regarding to that. And Basic. We said. So for example, our competitor's right now are investing into a I driven data dashboards. We let them we let them win that field we that we do something completely different. We we invest in real time one to one coaches. It's the opposite. Yet, this is how we will win the field because when they zig zag. So we have a completely own mark there and and then we set goals which are more long term in our world is ninety days to six months. Raj. So not that long term. For us, it's it's the longest term at off in terms of operations, and then we have our vision, which is three years. Like senator title sense. Maybe in the rain told million plus or minus, if they give that kind of money, I think they wanted to pitch big games down the stretch and more importantly, a big post, you can start now the Yanks already have a pretty strong starting rotation in the postseason. Like, you know, you use four guys sometimes three depending on how your top guys go, who would be the outfit out in your opinion to the way, I see it, and I was sitting there last night, trying to think think about how they would lay everything out. Is, is the Mingo Vermont? Yeah. Been out despite the fact that they may get to a point where he'd reached his innings limits patronage that ended into the bullpen. And you have Tikal bigger your game four starter. Thank I've been listening to AJ as always. Thank you. My man. I appreciate the call. And you bring up a good point with the innings restrictions that are going to be on the Mingo her mind. What kind of role is he gonna play over the final couple of weeks of the year? It's fair question ask and maybe because at the Phil they need to add to starters. I also think you have to look, Luis Severino is Severino going to come back and be effective, and be a front line rotation that pitcher. I don't know yet. I don't think the Yankees necessarily know yet. A lot more clarity within the next month. Look won't be bam move. "A one ninety seventy eighty two and a third last year. It wasn't this electric where he walked just four in, in fifty nine innings with good for a fourteen point eight strikeout-to-walk ratio this year. That's hilarious. Fifty nine strikeouts. For walks for you. That's wild. He's leading baseball in ERA whip walk rate and strikeout-to-walk rate and he's tied for the or he leads the NFL and wins with six. So he's been brilliant. Look, you know, you're not going to get a ton of innings if we could squeeze out a buck fifty. That'd be great. It would also be a four year high or five years, if you want to count, the fact that he missed all twenty fifteen in loop that in, he had a buck fifty. Two did review in two thousand fourteen and then one ninety two all the way back in twenty thirteen you're not gonna get innings. The only thing I'm hardened by the fact that his recent injuries have been lower-half in not arm. And that, that's a slight positive meaning that, you know, you're not waiting for a continually bunk. Elbow to pop. Although consistent groin injuries, including ripping the groin off the bone is a pretty gruesome injury is going to get he's going to get a spells on the I L, but I think he's going to be great. I would buy here as well. And I would buy with the expectation that somebody's looking to get out from under this thinking they're going to sell hi. You're gonna have to pay something of note, for sure. But I think you're still going to get another. Let's let's let's call it. Another seventy five innings of three twenty. That's pretty useful. Seventy five innings of a three twenty air. Let's just go look at. Steamer real quick. Rest of season bear with me on this actually hang on. I wasn't sure if the bat no no fence steamer Derek Cardi guy. And I didn't know we had the bat rest of season here. So I'm gonna go with the bat steamer you doing. Good work over here. But I love the bat. Seventy five innings of a three twenty ERA. Let me see what's, what's that comparable to first off? Let me see what the bat thinks residencies in from boy, they think one hundred twenty one inning. So maybe they're just kind of extrapolating where we're at now, that'd be amazing. If you've got that kind of one hundred twenty one innings three sixty five is what the bat things rest of season. I'm saying if you're if you're going for seventy five of, like, what I say three twenty ERA that's essentially, let me take drink here. Thousand substantial drink I was parched. I don't know if you could tell but I was parts nobody literally nobody has a seventy five inning projection the rest of the way. I don't know why it's kind of weird, but nobody has that. So the closest I can get. The comparable, the causes combine could get for that a seventy five innings of three twenty year as the rest of the way would be like Severino. Luis Severino the bat has him for fifty five innings of three twenty four. Otherwise, it's like relievers that have forty seven innings projected for that kind of Yarra. Otherwise, you're talking too many innings. Okay. Maybe maybe the better comp here. If we want to expand the, the. The projection little bit on innings and hope that he engine reu- stays healthy and gets a little bit more of the innings count. One one hundred fifteen innings for three twenty seventy are A from James Paxton. Let's bump that down. Let's, let's shave off some of that. Let's go ninety five innings because then you're talking one fifty four total. So that's taking your taking twenty innings off of that. But you're getting James Paxton minus twenty innings. I think people would would want that fewer strikeouts, too. I don't think that really gonna continue to strike guys out. Well, I mean that's the thing. He by the way, we're us a great case as to how canine versus K, percentage can be so different particular when you're walking, so few because it's twenty seven percents strikeout rate is sexy, but it's not the same k- k nine. I bet Paxton has a similar strikeout rate, but the canine is way higher actually paxton's at thirty four percent Mahmad packs you beast in Houston. But anyway, twenty seven percents strikeout. Rain is fantastic. It's it's a strikeout per inning right now for young Jin.

"What the ability of the pitchers going to be going forward. So. We've seen guys come back from high-grade latte strains. No Syndergaard did it and it took him multiple months. And I think tristen that's what you're looking at with Luis Severino because they're going to be conservative with him. He's young he's valuable. There's no reason to push it and run that risk. But it's definitely disappointing. Because something that looked like I thought that it was a relatively minor injury. I wrote it that way because that's the information that everybody had including the people who were right there looking at him on this my last question, the seem to think that cleansers injury was minor. He was day-to-day. And now it's like seventy five days he's out couple months. So with a back injury. You never really know. But we concerned about performance when it comes back and reinjured because people people don't view clever way, Severino. I would rather roster cleven jer. But I'm wondering now if I drop them both intend team standard leagues clever is going to be out longer. I mean, I think that's my point is that cleven jer when? He was examined by team position. That knows. This was high grade strain of Terry's major. So again, think of what his complaint was. And that's probably why they said day today, he had stiffness or I think that was the word that he used differences, upper, backer, tightness and upper back, and they were calling an upper beckstrom didn't sound like a big deal. And he was pitching really really well. And then they go and they look at it. They're like, wow. This is much bigger injury than what we thought. That's why changed when they when they saw would he was actually dealing with. But yet the what he complained of wasn't terrible. And that's the challenge with these medical things is sometimes bouncing that out. So that's why the recovery time went way up they saw they were actually dealing with. You basically can't pick up a baseball for almost two months while you're allowing the tissue to heal. And it depends exactly where it is. You know, if it's more in the belly of the muscle. Good blood supply. It's going to heal pretty well, you get into the tendon area, or if it's near where the tendon actually tach is into the arm. That doesn't have a great blood supply. It's more difficult to heal. You have to be more careful with it. And so we don't have that level of detail of information. But I think that's why with both Severino and cleven jer. It's all about making sure the tissue heels before you get them back. And if it really does and again, I used Syndergaard as an example because he's probably the one most recently, he's he's a high heat thrower who had similar injury that he dealt with completely through rehab, but it took a long time. So let's go about two other players. Just in case you're at an angle in these two coming back potentially this weekend. We're looking at a projected return Sunday or Monday for Clayton Kershaw. The other is that the Braves are looking at a return of Mike Foale Tanovic likely on Sunday. But it might be that they wait another week for him. And you know, based on where people had taken them there. Two guys who had injuries. Similarly, like Severino coming into the year. We just discussed any concerns you have either the two of them. Do you have any updates on their prognosis? Let's let's start with Kershaw. You know, you gotta be nervous when you're barely into spring training at all. And it's problem. And I think this is a bit of a carryover from his shoulder from last year and..

"Since I just read what I read I constantly talk about groin, strains and Mike trout. I wanna ask you this in general sense. Okay. When I hear somebody is dated day-to-day with a groin strain. I'm not trying to be facetious here. How's that day to day? Like, it seems to me like there's no such thing as a minor one. But Mike trout might play on Friday thebenz on the weather to some degree. But could this be the type of thing that maybe doesn't feel basis for a couple of weeks re-injure re-occurrence here? This is the best player in the sport. Clearly, the best player in the sport. But I think the fact that they already were hinting that he could play later in the week. Does mean that it was relatively minor issue? I mean. There was no imaging done as far as I'm wear. And I think just the fact that they made that decision tells you they weren't really concerned about the severity players are getting better about speaking up. There's communication that's happening between players and medical staffs and a lot of places not everywhere. And I think that it's important because the modern way of looking at things, and I know in the old days everybody just used to play through it suck it up, and you know, nobody took days off and all that. But if you have a significant groin, strain or tear as you guys know that can turn into something that can compromise the rest of your season. Just can't be effective. You can't run. Well, could be something that requires surgery down the line. So isn't it better? If you feel something even if it's mild to take a day or two off on a scale it back, and hopefully prevent it from becoming something bigger. Now you mentioned recurrence. There's no. The way that we can say for sure he won't have another issue. I mean, the one thing is now that this is cropped up a little bit. You get nervous that maybe next time. He goes out all out on the basis of not even next time. You know, he might be fine for the next time or the next five times in the next ten times. But in a month if there's something else that happens we're going to look back at this and say, well, we saw hint of it in the spring. But that being said, I think the confidence from the team in the fact that they've talked about him coming back in a few days should make us more confident. And I know I'm definitely confident because he's also played great around some of the little injuries here. And there he's been by far the best in the sport on a per game basis when he's on the field. So I'm not worried there. But I am worried about one players to find Eric's for me, you gotta talk off the ledge for Mr. Luis Severino because I mean, it was bad enough that he had the shoulder issue. But now a latte strain. I mean, come on. There's so much impact here, and I was with the anti spring training. I know I know here on this day. I mean, my sim pitch. And I specifically went there to talk to Brian Cashman about Louis Severino because that injury had happened early recently into time I was down there. And there are a lot of things that were positive, and I wrote about this. And I think we talked about it before I wrote about it. I thought the Yankees had voided something major again, it was something where he felt it on the single pitch spoke up they decided to scale his activity back because he had recently done a contract extension. They had this is what you do you get imaging? It's part of the picture. It's not everything. And I'm had a Twitter conversation going about this the other day because I said some people were like, well, why when he had the first shoulder episode and spring training why getting MRI every pitcher is going to have findings. Yes, that's true. When you pitch for a living the longer, you do it the more likely it is you're going to find things. And if you just put the. MRI up on the on the on the light box and looked at it..

"Kinds of stuff. I admire the managerial creativity to say as we I got fooled by the blip late during spring training. Gotta go back to your preseason sleeper gem Diego stale. I think he's one who's looking a lot better than I was expecting. He would because the base good. And now Marado thirty five saves because St. twelve I could see that maybe few less for our auto. I think we have cloudy with the cardinals. Jordan Hicks clear there guys were conc- ATL. Sean Doolittle has sure about sports. Well, yeah. But that's because tiger came in. And they got around the top of the night. Wouldn't okay? Yeah. And if a manager is going with the old school cleverly normal closer usage. Right. That's what I'm wondering there. And I do think Leah's stuff has been very good this year that maybe he does sneak in some of those lefty saves Taylor. Rogers types, do little has three wins a narrow save not the concern anybody with that. But like last year like the reds. I don't we three saves as a team in April and Glaser storm that up with thirty. So don't like cut your closers just because they're not getting saved chances. Like they're going to get save chances. Who's a closer that's owned way. Davis has no saves nary safe dulas. Nary don't cut these guys. I know it's only two weeks. It's just crazy cut these guys because they say it's not their fault in blown any saves. Anyway, if you need saves, I get in a David Robertson who is out of the role, but in less there is some sort of clear distinct change in who's in the raw, I dunno closer is. And I watch every game. Now, you don't need closer when you're losing fifteen nothing. Erin, all al-tair is the new Phillies close. I I. Yeah. That was good and everybody pointed run differential to to to look at a team stopping that those lost fifteen and nothing and they threw an outfielder in the ninth inning could've given ten more runs. If you look at run differential, only, it doesn't tell a story just doesn't I know people that people that are really smart are listening to that saying you're dumb. But that's exactly why run differential anyway, it does. But on the rare occasion there's been a closer who had here to the run differential formula. And got a lot of saves, but you can't use. You can't just cherry pick the examples to support a claim that is what you were doing. It's like the contract your thing. All right, homers and steals. Let's get to the combo. I should rhyme before every drop. Now, I try to do that. Like it saves like Ryan with saves faves faves here. My faves about the saves. You know, drops going gonna come keep rhyming. Somebody's gonna stick together. Oh, how many? A song. Yeah. It is. Monday. My new favorite NL only pickup. Kevin pool are homered and still a base. He only gets one hit a game. But it's like three or four BI Tuesday a genius with that too. That's I AM Enjoy overstaying. I overspent for him. It's an only one hundred dollar fab budget, but I spent forty three of it. But I thought six months of a guy or two months if I wait till July thirty first I do that every year in that league. I never win. Time for new tactics are is a very predictable..

"Right. Jose leclerc. I ranked them as top ten closer before the season love the strike potential. And now he has struggled on consecutive days. And that's really all it takes to worth people in fantasy baseball. Right. The clerk has two games that he can't close out of -ly. And now he's a concern. I would assume Sean Kelly's next in line. If Leclerc is hurt can't believe you lose a job this quickly. But do you have concerns or is this just a two-day blit? I have concerns in that. He's not missing bats. That is the negative. Takeaway from these past couple of games throw. I'm willing to throw it all the rest of it. But it could just be short term blip. And there is not really a lot of elite competition there. I mean, you did mention Kelly the other ones they were using Chris Martin as a setup man coming into the season. So I don't even know that it's so assured who the next in line would be that. I think Clark is going to get at least one two more chances continue to be angry. Shing green piles on every day. And I got beat out for him in our office league, which I think I'm in last place. It's everybody's bad. But you know, early it is but those. Are like eight saves in the Bank. You know, that's in the Bank. Now, Lonzo point. I know I know the difference here is like green is more safe than strikeouts. Now that's happened before Jim Johnson. I think did it, you know, more saves than strikeouts. It's rare. I don't want. Nobody taking Shane green trade from you the thing where he's like the highlight guy in the trade. So hey, good for him swears that got another say the other day. And then he got the win yesterday. AJ Minter got a save after last show at chorus field. Minta versus Viscaya in Atlanta. I think you'd have to say this kind of gets more safe because he's right handed. Is curve. Yo sure about that. I heard big Minter guy, though, remember keep that in mind. That's fair. I I like them too. And I think it was always an injury risk. That's the issue with him. If I said, the you that Kirby Yates is this year's Edwin d as for total saves and value, I guess to some degree. That's not laughable is because every year, it seems like there's one guy who for some reason just gets so many more than everybody else team wins a lot of close games. Maybe surprisingly so Seattle wasn't supposed to win have their games last year. That's how I got like fifty seven save. Nobody else had like more than forty two or something what if gates is that guy? I guess you're on Shane green. But I don't think. So I think it's the it's so I'll say your intent is reasonable. I'd say the literal definition of what you said is laughable because you can't project historic all time seasons. I mean, I like where you're going with setting the bar up there. Maybe he could do it. But the odds of that happening for anybody, even the most talented. Baseball is very very slim. Now could he be the number one closer out there? Sure, he could be he has that kind of talent. And I do think as expected the Padres are a little bit more competitive team than I thought by the way to your answering your question, Jim Johnson..

"Yeah. Thank you for that. By the way, I preach whatever I can do to help develop. It was on the list. He homered as well. L Illinois on that list. I'm surprised I man, I guess Alonzo overloid because the powers more guaranteed, but always going to be fine. Everybody's worried about him. I don't have any concerns about ROY Jimenez. And by before we get to late flagware junior is now in AAA buffalo playing for the days triple A team, which means he's healthy enough to play. He give me call it up any day. Now, if he's available in your league, obviously, I know you drop away together lied. Save those your last guy you're not dropping Alonzo for ladder. You shouldn't you absolutely now. Now, I would try to find another way in which to keep on my roster and reap the benefits of these great stats, but for the long haul, and this is the thing. It's all about context. What exactly do you need? Are you talking about the guy you're locking in for five months and two weeks or you talking about I'm okay with playing over the next month? If I'm playing over the next month, it's probably a, but I think arose the case in every other instance, you mentioned Jay. Bruce. He has an achilles. Minor achilles injury. Although he could end up on the list for all we know. He's sitting out. Thursday's game your thoughts on Seattle's offense. They want supposed to do this. But we expect Jay Bruce to be tied for the major league lead in home runs. We didn't think Daniel Vogel Bach with his two thousand would be doing this Domingo's Santana. I thought it would be doing this. But nobody else did your thoughts on Seattle here. I mean, Jay Bruce could end up with thirty five home runs but bat like his weight that that could happen. It could happen. I don't know that it will in that park. But I like where you're going on the power upside, I think Bruce was one of the more underrated mid level power options there. Nobody was investing anything in especially in mixed leagues coming into the season. So nice rebirth for himself are I don't really believe in the Mariners offense from the long haul as being one of the best in the game. I mean, they're number one runs per game at seven point nine right now that's not gonna keep up. But I'll reiterate what I said at the other day. And that is that I think that this offense is does not deserve to be called one of the five worst and baseball one thing they did not do when they were rebuilding during the. Season with tear down the offense. They didn't traded when Incan Ascione they have a couple of good speedsters in there. They have some good young hitters. Mitch haniger. We talk about a lot. I think there are pieces here that are worthwhile for fantasy getting tickets online can before complicated with hundreds of sites and varying levels of reliability..

"Plus, we have a special guest later on you'll love her and later, the myriad hashbrowns as well. All right. Just in. We wanna talk about today. I'm pretty much up for anything Tiffany, positively. Let's start with the positives and avoid the negatives. Okay. Let's do that. Let's talk about a rookie off the great start that in the buzz. All right, Peter, Lonzo give me his final numbers. I like he's off to a great start. And I wrote a blog the other day, which I'm sure so many people read saying that people are dropping. Hey, sue law and other first basement of no for that matter to pick up pita, Lonzo and Daniel Vogel Bach. Guys are off to good starts Christian Walker. It's just I look at the droplets, and I'm like, I don't want you to drop me Cabrera yet. And why are you dropping loop Voight and don't drop Matt Olson he's coming back in a week or two anyway, Peter Lonzo final numbers. All right. I think Alonso will finish with. I'm gonna say twenty nine home runs a two fifty five average, and let's give him like seventy eight seventy nine Arbia. So as Jose brea without thirty or forty batting average points. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I like that fair comp. Just like we always say out of our democracy trae Turner with with fifty batting points cut off. It's kinda the same with that. I see the world yesterday all these bases and housing. None Terrence score. They can't play them every day, but he's two basis. Anyway, pita Alonzo's good. I would try to out Alonzo. He's baddie anybody batting second a guy who manager looks at as like this is my best hitter. And that's basically what the Mets are doing here. It's like Goldschmidt batting second. That's why Mets batting pita. Lonzo second. Yeah. Try to add them. But just be careful you're dropping. I'm I'm looking at the most droplets for batters. K maybe that's obviously it's not positive, but we're I wanna look at like why people are dropping Jesse Winker. Justin, Smoak, Brandon strikeout. Nimmo white. Let's talk philosophy. Let's do that. Yes. Because first of all, it's the ten team shallow mixed. If you were chasing current stats that is the one league in which it's defensible to make those decisions. Now what I don't find offensive is that people were adding I tweeted the other day this thing about how five of the top twenty two most players on one day earlier this week were players who were top hundred affective players on the twenty twelve player Aitor. They're all deepen their careers guys. Like Jay, Bruce and Jordan Zimmerman, Alex, Gordon that's being a little bit too reactionary. But especially for young players you, and I have talked about many of them Yellen. Mancado was when we talked about on a previous show if you're going to react to a small sample in the shallow mixed. I think it is defensible because you're going to turn in a lot of players like this and Alonzo kind of falls into that. That's why I'm glad you brought up. So I because my fear is that he's going to be great classic elite juice the orange guy. That's going to be one big glass of orange juice with all the pulpit. It's going to be delicious. It's going to be one of those big old gallons. And then. Fear that pitchers are going to adapt to them the one thing in it's defense say is that he is ranking about somewhere in the sixty fifth percentile or so in terms of the chase rate swings at non strikes. I do hope he stays in that range, but he does with a lot. And I think there's going to be a slump coming would you add Alonzo and cut Aloi Jimenez. Yes, I would because that's well, that's well, they're both very good young prospects. And in our game where it's ten teams and you're churning players. I do think there's something to be said for getting the stats today. Alonzo's considerably better in the short term than Aloi Jimenez, long-term like law better keeps no question. I wrote a blog on Wednesday from sure you read about all the players with at least. I dunno forty as thirty five as that don't have extra base hits. And as I was on the list. Tony fan was on the list and our later to run..

"Then all aces, and maybe you look up and you have the best pitching staff in legal end of the year. Well, they went Bieler Kershaw and they back with two premium relievers to with Edwin d as Josh hater it kinda stabilize there. And so you got the the strike outs from those four guys and Julio reassess three bucks. Now looks like an amazing game. I think if they rerun it back just this next Sunday reas might go double that go six bucks because of the loss reports were getting out of him. Let's move onto Thor. No syndergaard. I don't want to overstate this. Because it's not like you guys are hating on him. But I'm clearly the I want it seven, and then it's e-e-e-e-no at eleven and just net. Fifteen is there's something all don't like. Or is it just injury concern? Okay. Well, but again, we just got done talking about so many other guys. Harry those concerns and Severino looked like a steady guy. And then he's not I just think for me Syndergaard with some of the arguably the best stuff in baseball, you if you put them number one that would no one would question that I'm gonna take my shot that I can get another one eighty and yes, he only has the one season of one hundred eighty plus. But so do out of the guys around him, including Aaron note. And so I'm willing to I want that premium premium stuff. So I've got him seven like I said, just your Loman. I'm fifteen so we'll start with you is it just the health. And are you considering bumping him up at all after the Severino? News Kershaw news. What happens now? With your Severino rank as a few guys below above him pushed down, I definitely will be bumping him up and probably bumping him up more than just the two ranks of the guys who you know, got injured or drop blowing him allergic because I wanted to see him pitch in spring training before I start really investing in. I just worried we saw kind of the drop in strikeout rate on top of the injuries. And I just. I was a bit worried. He looks great though. He looks vintage four right now and us I think I'm probably going to bump him up a of. I'm probably gonna bump them up above tigon in Walker. Bueller and potentially Carascalao and that would put him just inside my top ten starting pitchers. So it's gonna be a drastic move about five spots. Sorry, you cut out a little bit. Who are you talking about? Syndergaard. Oh, yeah. Yeah. He does look good. And we you know, I was working with Aaron SaaS. Ada at CBS on an update to the the stuff score. The the ace is called aces. He's calling it which is basically you take the movement velocity of the different pitches. We put in command from command. Plus and just try to come up with a score that represents how good their stuff is independent of their results. And so I just wanted to mention that because nose into guard was the was tied for first go, I'm him in Garrett. Cole had the best stuff in baseball. That's surprising. But it is at the same time. And and then that's what I'm saying. So I'm I'm going to bet on that. I've got him seven. He's probably ten for me. So it's okay. Okay. So. And after the injuries. I have I haven't done. Okay. Okay. So then we're more. We're more in locks. You could argue him above our easily in terms of longer track record of success. Our bud to the spring. So above that, our kluber, and you have to really push the aging pretty hard. And then for me of kluber Snell and Nola, and in those are the guys almost have. No question marks. So. Yeah, I I'm not I got. Kluber. I really I don't eat. That's the actually the hardest one for me because I think he's really showing effects of age you've seen the strikeout rig on new heard us talk about his fastballs..

Severino Aaron SaaS kluber Snell Garrett Bieler Kershaw baseball Cole Julio Loman Bueller Edwin d Walker CBS Josh Harry Nola
