"Any street instance stores strikes again Jerry Sandusky with the call of the ravens radio network the tightening of this was impeccable because the boulder patriots excuse me are moving the ball easily enjoy that one actually has the first moved to get around the fender before the ball is punch loser punched it was more ground to lose duffer Marlon Humphrey and the seventy yard return by the way the longest fumble return for a touchdown in Baltimore Ravens history and it was a huge mall Mendham stopper now momentum pretty fleeting in sports but the patriots had it they came out of the locker room with the ball and they were moving almost effortless effortlessly she said before that fumble knowing the answers and they were in more of a rhythm and tell Brady threw an interception deep to Earl Thomas in the fourth quarter but once again the ravens got into that ball control game that style that fits their personnel so perfectly and also allows them to not just control the ball but keep Brady on the sidelines we see that team to get the kids to the chiefs you don't want that belongs to her to you you don't want that belongs to be out there on the field burning up your defense well then you know one of them the football it's after hours with AB Lawrence on CBS sports radio in addition to not being able to stop the run effectively the patriots defense was gassed by the end of the game and that's another benefit of controlling the ball these numbers blow me away but they really do tell the stories I want to share them in the fourth quarter actually was more like that fourth and then the second half of the third he was like yeah the way it was put together to drive the fourteen place each and together those drives consume seventeen and a half minutes Brady was barely on the field the fourth quarter he can't torture you with one of those classic comeback drives if he doesn't have the football don't each one of those long scoring drive the ravens punch they can burn the fourth down one of them and the difference that you're seeing with Lamar Jackson this year what's different about this version of the ravens offense versus what we saw in the playoffs against the Chargers last January is that he can throw the ball is the better running it sure but if you need to convert an easy fourth down and four to Willie Snead the timing was perfect a pair of fourteen play drive and Baltimore doesn't ever allow the patriots an opportunity to climb back in this one winning by seventeen it also is crazy that the ravens are averaging more than two hundred rushing yards per game that is nerdy but it's also effective mark Ingram over a hundred yards Lamar Jackson three more touchdowns but don't ask him how exciting it is to win a game against the patriots started by Tom Brady someone versus anybody awfully already do I don't want a player or you know is is this guy one be you know like I said before **** will not change that happy get wind of course especially in the T. bank stadium so it's pretty cool but I don't really care because get Tom Brady I was born with the more I eat here in fear of Lamar Jackson more like him I still worry I'm not gonna tell you I don't I still worry about the hits that he takes I worry about his longevity if in fact he's going to be a dual threat QB which is what he is and his offense of coordinator in his head coach put him in positions in which you can best succeed and now the ravens of one four in a row and they stare down their biggest test of the season also really incredible atmosphere this is a much more minor nerd alert but there have been eleven straight prime time victories for the Baltimore Ravens and Earl Thomas getting to be a part of this one tonight was a special night would play really well all phases nor the old our play great they gave a lot of times in the more the more plates you V. P. talk football you separate itself us on defense you know we we have some timely plays we gave up and stuff but you know we it would be a flat so which we Mason turnovers increases situations and it just felt good to be appointed a win like this you know losses always find a way to recalibrate you know how you see yourself and yeah we always have a lot of work to do so this wasn't obviously good enough fifty by seventeen points that's snot were about so I give the Reagans credit I think they played really well take advantage of their opportunities and that's what it takes for Tom Brady and the patriots of the offense continues to be a work in progress it's weird to say that right but he's he's been consistent in pointing to their inconsistency all season long and a lot of it has to do with the revolving doors at at tight end at wide receiver you can tell he has a nice report early on with Mohammed the new one to him over and over again but there were some drops there were really some limitations on there so that they used a lot of the same sex over and over one of the tenets of the patriots offense is to spread the ball around it to have guys who are versatile whether it's running backs who can catch passes whether it's a tight end who might take a Kerry yeah he's always looking bill Belichick is always looking for guys who can do a variety of things on the field whether it's offense or defense he wants guys who can play multiple positions and who could hurt you in different ways and so with the the the transition with the revolving door on offense they're really more limited then what they normally are offensively and for Brady you can see that there's a lack of rhythm it does take time as much as he makes it look effortless in this game on Sunday night it became really evident that if the defense doesn't give them a cushion if the defense doesn't offer them as all place the land to be a little buffer there it's a lot harder for the patriots to win when they have to rely specifically on the offense especially when they're playing a defense that is tough and physical like the ravens so what happened defensively this is not something we see much but patriots giving up more than two hundred yards rushing and thirty seven points I think it was overall just a whole offense we know they have one of the best running attacks and then I fall this year and they were able to really run the ball and you know I think because we struggle stop in a run a pretty much given control of the game Evan accordingly because we failed to stop the run it gave them control of the game and that is the word control now I say ball control over and over but the benefits of ball control are evident they are numerous and the ravens used all of them and having the patriots their first loss but also but a huge gauge a big measuring stick not to mention a confidence boost for the ravens and they stay two games in front of the Steelers who are back to five hundred in the AFC north you can follow me on Twitter a all radio got our Monday and beat people up yes Lamar Jack that is part of that that we've been talking about MVP candidates both front runners AT and dark courses some huge games for those candidates in week number nine not so much though for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers the it was just weird what happened to the Packers offense well Aaron Rodgers will tell you coming up next year after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio no.

Fantasy intel for all 32 NFL teams ahead of Week 7

"Of information kind of funny because the beginning of the year we were told the Broncos had the most difficult schedule the NFL or second most most behind Texas dipping high look at it now everybody's talking about the schedule being so easy it's funny how on paper something looks in the beginning of the season and you get a way it was easy to find out it's not what you thought you with the Cleveland Browns for instance everybody was in the high pick for the Superbowl now they might not even win their division so you know it's it's it's interesting to watch to stop play out well even in the course of the of the flows of the season I mean as soon as Andrew luck announces retirement a lot of people just immediately said okay the culture gonna be picking in the top five judge go we were set is doing okay in fact the colts might even not necessarily go into the draft picking a high quarterback they might say you know Hey you if you if you could make us a competitive team Jacoby maybe they let you roll with it another year and they'll just bring in a quarterback they'll draft a quarterback to develop behind him I agree and I think it's amazing that you didn't mention Chad Kelly in there once that's because I shouldn't and nobody should here right but they they you know a little help Broncos fans are some people that I know I know I'll floater the one that got away the legend to the got away preseason legend Kyle floater all time grease motor back in a pre season he's putting up some really spectacular preseason numbers Benjamin rushing it yeah but highly loader single handedly ending the dreams of future insurance salesman but but to that point and I and I'm glad you brought that up and we we spoke about this a few times the ANC overall pretty weak conference you have the top in teams right we know those teams it it that doesn't change anything we knew that those teams were gonna probably be good but what happens is there's a lot of middling to bad teams teams actively taking in the A. F. C. N. and then there are teams that are look inconsistent at best and so for for the Broncos that's why you when we were in the midst of the old for when the Broncos were in the midst filled before we were talking about it we said look star string together a few wins yeah you never really know how this is going to shake out and in the midst of the Broncos getting the two wins in a row which they really should have three in a row the chief lose too and they lose too in a way that actually is a replicable likely teams or Detroit Lions basically did it carry that into the colts game the colts they went to Kansas city and they didn't even better and in the Texas look the the Texans model what is John Watson and and the officer told this sort of their shots it wasn't like they they wanted that game saying if we can hold them under twenty no I just did their thing they took chances will fuller drop three touchdowns in that game now three touchdowns in the game on now you know a great week start will fuller your fantasy league yeah I don't know any Benjamin all rights that would have invested heavily in him and done that but I I but yeah yeah that happened well buddy that that's that's what kills is like you know well for the week before hundred seventy yards receiving three touchdowns any of this to find digs going off for three W. like those things happen in that everybody's gonna rush to put it back in their or their line ups and then at the very next week their their disappointment right I'm not appoint chaser by as those good match up and then put in that vein it's not like the tents that that's where I'm I'm like look does the size of the Broncos to do their thing but it doesn't mean that the offense can execute effect I'll go almost a further with you on this bed I think mostly Joe Flacco today I think Joe Flacco once it I think Joe Flacco after kinda have in a a little a little bit of a everything taken off of him like like Hey we got this game Joe don't don't stress too much don't screw up in in the Titans game we got this one the way he's been Kerry himself the way he's been talking about the office I don't have a cut for me but she basically said something to the effect of like we want to be a reason why we win this game but not just part of like along for the ride the office was along for the ride in the Titan's went kinda yeah and I think that Joe Flacco of all people knows what both sides of that coin feel like you know he he was along for the ride with the ravens a lot of the time he also strung together the reason that they got two and won a Superbowl so you've been bullseyes that coin he sees tasted in all the that the tree of of winning in a great offense and now I I I do think that you think is will chip on your shoulder when you come away from the Titans game like well you know we actually kind of stock but the defense held us together you know the run game was next out the past came with very good at it I mean it wouldn't the office of Lee that what a great game by the Broncos are flashes they made some big plays and they need to but they try to put it in kinda cruise control because they knew they didn't have to I mean that the tides getting crossed the fifty yard line in the first three quarters play that I recall they got to the forty nine once had a point all of our four template but I mean you know when you when you bottom up that well get out your office kinda I don't see the check out but you know they recognize are not needed and there can be you can kind of let off the gas a little this was the quote he said there's always that side of it of wanting to go out there and have your claim on the game and all that is like there's always a personal side going out there and playing football games I don't think that always means it's a bad thing it's like I said I think you go out there and focus on what you're doing with the idea that it's for the guy next to you would have to repair the best you can so you're not letting anybody else down but again he kind of point at the very beginning of that he kind of pointed out yeah you know what you play this game you play this game to be remembered you play this game to be a winner and you don't want to be along for the ride of your quarterback like they did there you're less your a career pack up that is being brought in just to keep the seat warm you want to go out there you want to kind of put your stamp on the game just like I didn't get a chance to really do that this last game I think he really wants this one and he's got the defense I think to do that if they can get that run game warmed up early he'll have his spots to be able

"The Broncos radio network a seventy yard or for Cortland thoughtless thank you think of that Courtland Sutton as the Broncos get the first win of the year the first for the NGO here Steve Rabal on the Seahawks radio network what a game against the rams going back to last Thursday and Seattle wins it still though behind the Niners in the AFC west Josh Jacobs with the game winner across the pond John Gruden's peeps food taking out the Chicago Bears with a little extra vindication and saw that was Brent Musburger on the raiders radio network by like Christian McCaffrey make mix in all the papers radio network a franchise long rushing touchdown eighty three yards we still have our pull up for you after hours CBS or on my Twitter you can also cast your vote on Facebook we will reveal your choice for TV of the week in the next hour it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio eight by five two one two four two two seven that's eight five five two one two four two two seven we'll squeeze in a couple of calls before we get to the top of the hour but as soon as we had the chance of course we had to find out what Jon Gruden thought about his brother Jay Gruden getting fired by the red skins after week number five others but all can speculation that Jay might join Sean McVay you staff in New Orleans the J. might join his brother's stab with the raiders all kinds of stuff and John not J. John I know it is kind of saying Hey let's let's tap the brakes on that but I love what he had to say about his brother losing his job I'm not going to speculate about it I'm I was very disappointed from a brothers long night in the last couple nights you worked our goal I respect for for my brother obviously and disappointed for him get fired but my dad's been fired I've been fired Jay's been fired and welcome to the welcome to the club bro I mean that is perfect and it speaks to me because of a a veteran colleague who once gave me the the best piece of wisdom going back to I mean not quite twenty years ago but early in my career when I was just breaking in to full time sports broadcasts the thing he said to me after I been fired the first time it's it's happened three times and I've been dropped from rotation essentially lay off another time he said to me after the first time it happened I was blindsided every time you haven't made it until you've been fired twice again this is early in my career and I was devastated by getting fired I spent a year working at a sports radio station it was a start up supposed to be going through my E. Val after your number one I walked in the boss fired me and they're Ammonius fully really no explanation just we're going a different direction and that was that I mean I was halfway across the country I was so far from home I was broke because you're always broke early in radio I don't know what to do I still remember that day not so much the conversation with the boss but it was so big bed my emotions after that I walked around like a zombie I had no idea what to do I could even cry is devastated as I was it took quite awhile before the emotions just kind of poured out of me but he was the first person I called not my mom she was teaching this was the smell of the day another family member I don't think there was texting at the time and so I called this older colleague we work at the same radio station he was in TV and work for competing radio station but he was always so kind to me for those of you who know Oklahoma sports barberry junior he actually passed away such a couple years you haven't made it until you've been fired twice and what he meant by that was failure very often just a change of direction failure is not the end of the end of your story it's just a battle scarred you're gonna get a better job that you're probably gonna get fired again that you're gonna get a better job it's part of the process makes you stronger more determined smarter wiser it forces you to decide whether or not this is really what you want and if it is you go for it with even more tenacity and so when Jon Gruden says my dad's been fired I've been fired Jay's been fired welcome to the club royale reaction was C. E. yep exactly welcome to the club broke also borough there is not just day it's not just a piece of flying it's actually his bro yeah we got to go over these this show before about the difference between Perot and bra and bra but he actually means bro good for him I love the support is broken that's what I would do although I I might be a little more impassioned about it but Johns good at controlling his emotions when he's in front of a microphone so yeah I made me think of my friend Bob and also if if you missed it during the day time this is what I was progressively my writing as well I wrote a blog post about this piece of wisdom because I always have young broadcasters come to me and say what's the best piece of advice or what can you tell me about getting started and this is what I say to them and so I wrote a blog post about the advice and encouragement that Bob gave me and I tweeted it earlier today a law radio eight five five two one two four two two seven let's talk to Scott to them Boston welcome to after hours AT me I'm telling you right now you got me almost in tears how much is because I'm I'm hoping at least seventy seconds before I'm literally as cliche as it sounds first time listener I'm up late my work schedules crazy I said wow see I hear on the affiliate W. E. I. in Boston yes yes and well what what a great thing like you said what what doesn't kill you makes you stronger you know absolutely I totally feel you must be about my age are I as I do have a Dick I promise you you probably my age I guarantee you I bet you have a scene forty one and forty four do we don't ask a girl her age especially the first call her but I'm saying I I'm trying to make it myself on I will get into the only got I could go on and on and on I'm a pretty popular call a local radio here in Boston but all right let's let's get on point you know you have two minutes to go all of a sudden a debtor to military yeah I did I don't want to know how are Amy I'm being funny trying to be good radio well you by the way you are we national right now of course pretty cool I'm usually local in Boston I here we go let's come point I know the whole country to the meaning that the trips but I'm telling you right now this team is I'll say it twice is gonna go sixteen and now now we dealt with Antonio brown are you schedule lack not all I call that show too the elected don't tell me don't dump yet selected birch and said the above the midday show tend to do okay zip it or you are going to get dumped this may not may I ask if you were him I didn't know how to promote him yeah I let me I'm in a cruiser I'm a hockey I but I'll talk football for we we I laughed about forty eight seconds this pad steam is the machine they got rid of the cancer no is Antonio brown okay then they got red dot does does give the kid Goku at the yep so terribly and hip surgery the upsurge hips are not the same thing but okay yeah well he will term right everyone knows of the soul between areas he didn't have surgery they brought this new kid Nugent the bass saying and I did say this on the morning show but Bon Bon Bon the best thing he could have done is messes first extra point all the pressure's off him he's going to be gold the rest of the season mark my words and I'll close with the same means thank you for the time welcome are you want every night what it what I'll come I'll call again yes I am this is my regular show and yes that is national now you have ten seconds this is probably the best deep turns to Peter never had a Brady Belichick ever think good luck beating this team I'm telling you right now in me and I'll talk to you next week this is going to go sixteen a no win the Superbowl okay well it's about time Scott thank you so much for your phone call from Boston good to talk to we look for to talking to you again but the music means nothing to me this is the the the god of the network is said Amy wrap it up so always nice to find new colors and new listeners that's.

Into Clinton Lake

"When they got back to the apartment Amanda plan to Cook Orange Chicken for dinner tired and hungry she changed her mind though and she suggested that they go out to dinner it was payday so Amanda could afford to treat the children by going out Oh so they went to the shack for dinner. This was a diner well-known to Amanda since childhood because she'd grown up in this area going out sometimes awkward for them though because Maurice was almost always the only non white person in the restaurant this was a very white community and he was African American and there were still people in Clinton who looked very negatively at this interracial couple the waitress would later recall feeling some tension between the couple to that night they had a disagreement about what to do after dinner Maurice wanted to rent movies but Amanda was the one who suggested that they take the kids to Clinton Lake for some quality family time yes she gave Murray's directions to get to the lake then it was the first time they are gone they're together Maurice was seen driving fast Z. past the parking area and he drove down a hill to the boat ramp with the car facing the lake and the front bumper fairly close to the water's edge which is a strange thing to do if you think about it why would you park there her war wonder you know where would you this no reason at all no this you would think the kids were gonna go in play on the embankment and get their energy out you know that's what you do with Little Boys Road Park and let them play yeah celebres brutal weird Sir yes yes so this is where a man does version of events begins to differ from those of Maurice Although Amanda Would Change Her story multiple all times let's move to a mand is called nine one one after the children were submerged in the lake and then we can get into what she told police in her multiple interviews and what Maurice told the police so this nine one one call is kinda difficult to make out now the first thing you here's Amanda screaming that her children are in her car in the lake but then after a minute or so maurice takes the phone and it takes a while for the nine one one operator to figure out what Amanda was saying but Amanda stays on the phone and Marie seems to be by her side for the entirety of the call and this is where they lose me because there's no way to live them should be up by the phone while the children are drowned or wouldn't you think rookie drives save kids absolutely in this wasn't that the league is not like the car sank and forty feet of water or anything like that now you could almost just stand up in it now it was murky but we'll get into it it's just is that's where it loses me I can't believe it mark here so I would say that amandas emotional state is up for interpretation she does seem Ranna and she's screaming Marie sounds pretty calm but it's hard to understand a lot of what she's saying news revolution through it repeatedly it's tough to decipher what's being said well and it would just be common sense for one person to be on the phone and the other person to beginning the kids out of the car yeah absolutely don't need to people on the phone saying come here for help exactly right right so in the first emergency workers arrived the scene Amanda appeared to be hysterical she was pointing at the lake and jumping up and down screaming Maurice was holding her quite possibly holding her back with his arms rounded torso and they were about seventy yards from where the car went under dewitt county sheriff's Department Sergeant Timothy Collins was the first one there who said the car it was under water but it wasn't very far from the boat ramp the nineteen ninety seven cutlass had got in front words and the front of the car was in seven feet of water and trump was in only about four feet of water so that deep at all not at all so collins who immediately removed his gun belt and ran into the water it's pretty murky here you really couldn't see much of anything so he had a feel along the side of the car in order to grasp the front door handle and this is on the passenger inside the car this door open pretty easily but he's also noticing that he's still got his bulletproof vest on with his uniform which was weighing him down down quite a bit so he's swam out of the lake remove the vest and then another deputy took her car door so ah I I thought well why we need to take the vest off in the water but then if there's another deputy right there I can kind of see it but if it's possible to take it off and not Li the water that would make more sense this is a situation where seconds count never gonNA figure there was another guy where there yeah okay now he she was floating face down in the front of the Car Collins Ran Kelly to the paramedics who were now waiting on the ramp ready to help then an ambulance act with two EMT's one of them waited in and took Christopher out of the car mouth-to-mouth was performed as the EMT carried him out of the lake he was unconscious as the other two kids and he was vomiting repeatedly which made it very difficult to give him oxygen and maintain an airway and so the emergency workers are trying to resuscitate Kalian Christopher and another emt pulled Austin from the car so he is put on the ground on shore for CPR as the rescuers worked on the other two kids in the ambulance so now the sun's going down Larry's continue need to hold Amanda back near the pay phone the ambulance with Kalian Christopher took off for the hospital and rescue workers made the decision to transport Austin in the Fire Departments Suv so one firefighter drove that vehicle while a second firefighter continued to perform CPR it actually take in less than two minutes emergency workers to arrive at that scene and this should have been soon enough to save them if a man had made the nine one one immediately but it was really difficult to determine how long the children had been underwater and they were not responding to resuscitation efforts ed you have any comments on how they should have responded if they'd only been in the water for a few minutes or do you think it's very won't convert variable yeah but still if if the car went in to the lake in the parents or mother called immediately and it took on a couple of minutes so that sounds like within five or ten minutes well she would tell the police fifteen which is still way too long yeah yeah it's afterwards so those are couple of factors but did the biggest thing is how long were they in the water and this letter was not called no seventy something degrees so a deputy took Maurice and abandoned his patrol car and raced to the hospital he was really doing all he could to get her to the hospital glad to be with their kids and also so that she could give medical staff any crucial information they might need but Maurice actually asked the deputy to slow down on they were travelling at one hundred miles per hour with the sirens on now that would be looked at suspiciously why the hell would you say that were I don't know I wouldn't be see can't you go any faster yeah any they've got the sirens on so cars are moving out of the way that's just one thing that is Weird word and there will be more and more things like that

"And that was hot out there that he is capable of playing a lot of places so as long as they're capable you always want your best out there. clearly. clearly. something's wrong clearly something's wrong thank you that we just have to be honest clearly something's wrong with our pass rush the coordination is not there in energy level that it takes to get to the quarterback is not there. clearly something's wrong. that's all I'm saying clearly something is wrong and part of that could be that the guys don't feel refreshed they don't feel rejuvenated. has there been a order from Vic Fangio to keep those guys in the game. I mean I mean if they if that's the case. that's no no that's no that's not that's not. football that's not college football. that's not normal. but you know it if you gave you just feel like. you know you. I think it's I think it's I think of them it's a mistake from my seventy four sixty on our techs line of five six six nine no. why do I feel like Fangio isn't seen what's wrong with the defense maybe he does but it sure feels like he's missing it. I agree. I agree. I mean the bears basically gave up offense of leave when they got up on us. and the ball ran about reverses tosses Swedes they were just like you know what Mr Brzeski is not gonna throw this game away. yeah them what what what what your best use numbers Joe Joe I mean they were terrible from the last game it must have been when you look at it I think Mitt's tricky to for like a hundred thirty yards or something like that so my dad I mean that that that's not them saying that he can't they said that's them Sam we don't want him to. so. that just tells you that they'll find offense a different way in the winter they found also it's a different way. they ran a Bradley took they ran a reverse for fifty yards with with the receiver eighty four Patterson is that that's it right yep and they ran a reverse with I think number thirteen on a reverse or sixteen on a reverse that's seventy yards in rushing plays on defense that looks horrible when you get when you look at the differences that you see anything above for for yards rushing a game and they got two of those plays. right on Bradley Roby side. we will be ready so tight in three plays they ran the the the top plate and then they ran a play to the right and then they ran out towels reverse. that's seventy yards in rushing plays to a god it looked like he was hired. by which of his he was sixteen of twenty seven four hundred twenty yards. not great not great not great at all all right three oh three seven one three eighty five eighty five OR text line is five six six nine no it's big Allen judge on the voice of.

"Lines game where it turned out unfortunately. so anyway I think we're having a little trouble giving Steve back on here from his remote to studio but we'll figure something out other notes in the news after the lines collapse in the fourth quarter game there there are scores that have been given out. and I like these quarterback Matthew Stafford gotta be I would be given a Monday that one of the sports writers game a bit I saw that I agree with you running backs a C. minus wide receiver tight ends and Amos of the guy gives days. would be given an eight and a Matthew Stafford the offensive line grade D. defense of line grade B. linebackers be plus secondary be special teams see. minus and the coaches he was a very generous must've been grading on a curve he gave the coach is a C. minus. again. very generous after all those meetings Friday how could they not have a meeting about when and how to call a time out I don't know I don't know anyway did we get Steve backer when I rather unfortunate testing hello okay now let's not touch anything and we should be able to have a recession I don't know what you could hear what you could hear but I heard. at you and the shot believes in being apoplectic good use of the word there apoplectic following the lions game well you know here's the thing over the years lions fans have seen a lot of a very loyal group for sure but when you have a twenty four six fourth quarter lead on the road at home whatever the case may be you're not supposed to lose you see the lions want to win and I think everybody's in favor of that the reason the New England Patriots have won a gazillion super bowls is because they don't blow twenty four six fourth quarter lead. and by then I look good last night too by the way well everything was going alliance wait and you know what Paul and the fact of the matter is for awhile there you're thinking this is exactly the way the lines needed to open up this season with a new offense of coordinator yada yada yada yeah and then there were signs in indications that this thing may may slowly but surely. sync away from them and that's exactly what happened one of the problems if you go to the muffed punt right at the end of the first half Jamal Agnew mas the pond and blinds up ten nothing at that point a chance to put more on the board but defensively the good news was they held the cardinals to a field goal so at the half you're at seventeen three lines still looking very very good it was disappointing it was yet another punch to the gut and. you know as far as a tie goes the lions that was a very long flight back from the desert now the cardinals on the other hand probably doing back flips does your vehicle pull this them outdoors they now know that they have a world class quarterback in the making it took him three quarters but so what his first professional action in the fourth quarter he brought his team back to nearly a victory in for them it was a victory well here's a number for you at the end of the third quarter Kyler Murray had seventy yards throwing seventy. he finishes twenty nine of fifty four three hundred eight yards two TD is to go along with the pack now listen. right spot here Matthew Stafford ends up with three hundred eighty five yards three excellent game a rating of one ten that's pretty good we also saw TJ Hawkins in the rookie tight and justify why he was taken with that first pick six receptions one hundred thirty one yards to go along with a touchdown self you know what I think last night Sean myself scrambling to find positives because we witnessed something that that it wasn't supposed to be and the bottom line is this if you want to be considered a good football team then you play like a good football team and that you don't let anybody back in and that's exactly what the lines did last night. he. you know what else can we say well here's the question goes to say will the fans show up to support the lines at the home opener on Sunday. what you know what historically the home opener and from our broadcast location and pride plaza it's a great atmosphere it it's a lot of fun there's a lot of optimism and you've got a darn good Philip rivers LA Chargers team coming in and we were discussing last night after what we witnessed yesterday if the lions are able to knock off the Chargers it's all good. well now all of a sudden you're a one Alwyn one football team and you know okay I would take that but here's the if you're looking for something good ESPN simulated all day one million games of the upcoming twenty nineteen season they projected alliance to get off to an old eleven start what a nap..

"Go out. No, I want to punish seventy yards wide. All right. So Bonneville area, I sixty five southbound. That's where you're going to get off the, the crashes closer to Mumford. That's greg. It's is sixty five southbound closed add mile marker sixty seven in Hart county. They're saying four to five hours. Yeah. For more a multiple vehicle crash, we understand that there are injuries. We don't know the extent of we also understand that there's a charter bus involved. And other vehicles. It sounds like so we're still trying to get some information. But, but it's an I don't know if that's still a work zone down there and not either. Right. Because I was for the longest time. So don't know, don't know if that's a work zone crash or not. But either way it's it's going to be a problem. So if you're headed to Nashville, bowling green point, south. Plan accordingly. But seventeen minutes ago, we got a report. Also, there's a crash on, I sixty four east mal marker point six area of Sherman mitten Sherman bridge. That's right shoulder blocked gets barely in Kentucky. Yeah. Exactly. Right. So we're, we're talking about so many different things we're gonna be talking to Michael Bauer here. Hope picks didn't say anything yesterday, we'll find out some more, that was I have to tell you even when I don't disagree with the president. He he makes things funny. So I thought that was pretty funny take that he had with the Fox News there with the report. But anyway, what do you get back to this? Triple A finds seventy percent of us guys. We Americans doubt the police would catch a driver who's high on marijuana. Apparently, a lot of drivers toke behind the wheel or at least think I did it as a kid. I don't remember it impacting. My driving behaviors an estimated fourteen point eight million people admit that in the past month. They've driven with an hour of within an hour of spoken to Gotcha. See, I disagree with that assessment is what's up. What do you disagree? I'm not get one that was just say, seventy percent of people think that the cops wouldn't find you, if you were smoking AAA because I go to this often, but I watched life PD, and there's an alarming number of people that they're pulling over now that are just the pull them over in their cars like teaching Chong. They will go up to roll the window down since and there's like a fog comes out of it. Back. And they shows the some of the situations like dash Cam and stuff, where they're you know, they're obviously doing some of the same stuff, they're kind of a little out of it, there swerving in their lane, making the little traffic mistakes things. That would tip you off the same as, if you were pulling over somebody who was, you know, had over consumed alcohol. Right. And the people are gonna say the same thing I drank a beer an hour go. And then I drove and I was fine. All right. Well, congrats, you know, not exactly the smartest decision in the world, but you did it and apparently, you didn't get caught that, that means that you weren't, you know, you weren't towing the line there, some sort of gray area. Well, here's the same thing with marijuana. Look, if you want to smoke marijuana, you're gonna probably do it. I think the way around that, but make a smart decision. When you get in your car, we know that seventy percent of American don't smoke pot, but you can have a high number of people that did back in the day when they were kids or whatever. And they remember it. They, they don't remember, but they do, remember having their mind that didn't impact me that much. But here's the thing, the poll found seven percent of Americans are actually, okay. Hey, with people driving after recently spoke just seven percent. They said it's like, well the bigger problem with marijuana. Now is it's coming out. This game at the end of last month. At city said one in every twenty women who are pregnant now smoke marijuana. I saw that. That's, that's a study published earlier this year found that that's a seventy five percent increase why. And I you know, that's, that's fine. Right. Why are they doing that? Why don't you take CDC oil or something like that? Who knows what kind of impact that can have on? That's the flip side to legalizing marijuana. The critics against that will say that's going to lead to an increase in the problem with that is, that's a huge problem down the road because we don't know the full effects marijuana, obviously not good, if you're pregnant, but what are the effects? This is going to have it, these numbers keep increasing with pregnant women who smoke marijuana. I wonder what that study with other studies though how many women's still drink alcohol when they're pregnant and or have opioids in their systems and things like they say, more women are drinking coffee now that the pregnant was that worse. I could question. I mean I just just caffeine, isn't it? I don't want to pretend I even live in this world because that's not my I I get it. I can't begin to understand. I know three minutes talking about women's health issues, I get, but I mean, it's just interesting. And you're right. I was kinda surprised see that myself. All right. DeSean Jackson might reportedly be on move, wants Philly

"Take what an unhappy disgruntled wide receiver that never happens in the NFL the Sean Jackson, according to sources told Tampa Bay that he wants out and he wants to go back to the Philadelphia Eagles. That's his preferred destination. I don't know how deeply he's digging in. But I would caution the Sean Jackson. You don't quite have the leverage that Antonio Brown has because you're not nearly as good. Yep. But he can't stretch defense. If he's got the right quarterback in the third level. He's still a hell of an athlete. He is. He's thirty two though. That's the problem. This'll this is year thirty two season as they like to like to say, but he hasn't had great success over the last couple of years only seven hundred seventy yards last year six hundred the year before that he missing some games not being overly productive as a touchdown a generator. So there's candy be good.

"I mean, you look at the other side if you just look at the numbers Preska had a bigger game than golf because the Rams ran for two hundred and seventy yards gafa throw the ball hundred and eighty six yards. That's it. He only threw the ball twenty eight times period Prescott threw for two sixty six but were behind most of the game. And of course, they run the ball Zeke Elliott forty seven yards rushing on twenty carries. That is super low for him. That is that is twenty carries his giving kinda low and seven yards. Just absurdly low like C, J Anderson had three more carries Elliott almost three times as many arts. Yeah. The cowboys. The Cowboys defense is very good in their linebacking unit is one of the best. But man, though, I'm backing unit had a tough day broken this game against the Rams. You're absolutely this this show they were outclassed in basically every position car we have some decisions to make. And we'll talk about them later on and sigma threes. We talked about some of the limited team. So like where they go from here. But this is a big offseason for them. Yeah. Absolutely. And the next game on the division around list is saints in eagle ills we're actually winning this game fourteen the nothing the other jumped out to a big and the saints scored twenty answered and won the game. Eagles were flying early. You could say and then they got shot down. Yup. That's a depressing thought. Well, in fact. Drew Brees in Michael Thomas had it rolling yesterday. That's my what I came away from that game thinking like first of all Sean Jeffrey that was for the guy that was a big time performer for them that was the one play that stuck in my mind, the most that game alshon Jeffery dropping the ball, the Boland's drizzly in Marshall, Adam Moore's hands. It ends the game ends a chance at the eagles defending their title. They lose on that play..

"We were nine and seven two we needed the jets lose. And they ended up winning last week season. We all ended in a tie just went to the playoffs. But we went to that same sort of progressive. The eagles did where we are good initially than we weren't very good. And then by the end of the season, we had it figured out. And I really thought if we got in the playoffs that year we'd have a chance to to win it. And that's how the eagles felt to me this year. I think I think with this game, you know, saints. I get the show and the guys two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and Lombardi trophy and all those things, but that to me felt like you were looking past the eagles. And it's like I thought that look I get it. You wanna motivate your guys what the ultimate goal is? But you can't get to that until you beat Philly. And you know, the last game was a forty eight to seven. I don't think they thought this game was going to be very difficult New Orleans. Dan, Philly came out totally shocked them and then New Orleans realize. Okay. We got a problem and Philly change a lot of things up, you know, defensively last time they double team, Michael Thomas, and Camara, and it caused issues from a fit perspective it caused issues from a communication perspective. They didn't do that. And you know, Michael Thomas has you know, what finish up with hundred seventy yards receiving. So it's I I don't I don't think they ran out of gas as much as you know, eventually New Orleans realize. All right. This is this is actually a game so sticking with that game it if you're the general manager of the eagles going next year is there a case to be made for sticking foles cab that that's hard because there's there's a body of work that falls has as a starter. That's that's not very good. When he. Was with Andy Reid who. Drafted him and they moved on. So it's the question is is he a situational guy is like a five six game guys opposed to starter. It's you see what he's done in this pressure situations. You think? Yeah. Of course, he should be the guy, and then you take a step back. And you look at what he's done historically. And you wonder which which player you're really getting. And they've got a young quarterback that they've invested a lot into and feel like has much higher upside. Although nobody knows if he can win the play-offs nobody knows he can win in pressure moments. Right. So you've got a good problem. And also, you know, really tough decision based off of kind of fluky patterns how much would you give for Carson Wentz right now? The question I'm sending market tree. If you're trading for him. Well, who what where where am I say your ten? Yeah. Back in Cleveland. I probably would have given quite a bit. You know? I don't quarterback that you know, we wanna game with three completion. So have guy with Carson Wentz out that that's pretty exciting. But the market is going to be set probably after the draft. Once everybody goes through who they pick what they see on their their, you know, the roster and then injuries. Yeah, you'll get an injury in training camp. And that's a guy like that. Either guy could be really valuable moving off the playoffs real quick for a second. You obviously were defensive coach. What do you think about the change in the NFL in terms of all these guys getting hired that are young that our offense minded, and it seems like a lot of teams are saying we're gonna hire a guy who basically just what his job is as a head coach. Coach now is to just get the best out of our quarterback. Our big our most important asset. Do you see this trend continuing in the NFL, or do you think it's gonna be kind of a regression to the mean where some of these guys maybe don't succeed the way that Sean McVay has or even matinee your some of these guys who've gotten the most out of their quarterbacks. I think it's I think it's just cyclical like ties things come back in fashion, go out of fashion. You know when I was hired thirty four then lane kiffin got hired. He was like thirty two Josh was younger than that. And then there's like five or six got working more..

"We saw that Prescott year go without Zeke in a lineup. It did go. So he too has to have him in. It'd be able to do his thing and be able to do who's got a better chance of surviving. If if both of those guys are less than their best girly could sit here. Look, you might concern is he has a plate for a month. It's not just that he might have some rust. It's that there might be something. I don't know. But if they were this cautious. And this thing we saw in the previous games before that he wasn't very good that Well, I don't know. I don't know what soon as I don't know what it's going to look like you're you're cautious. Because those games you just mentioned the C J Anderson had San Francisco didn't look Zona. Didn't look good against philli. Didn't look it against Chicago. But no. But that's when he was banged up. So you let him rest against those other games because you knew you can win those games without him in the lineup test. Your question. You know, he had his streak of touchdowns in a game broken in that fifty five point victory against Kansas City. Have I think like seventy yards rushing and he's still found a way to get fifty five yards without him getting the end zone. Once I don't think you could say the same thing about Dak Prescott in the Dallas Cowboys. So to answer your question deck me's Zeke to go off way more than Todd Gurley impacts on Jared Goff because we've already seen at play Keyshawn pointed out when he was in the lineup. Dak look very very mortal. When he's in the lineup he looks like he's worth the money for Jared Goff. They get the job done with C, J Anderson. They get the job done with Todd Gurley being heard the only lost three games. So I feel is the presence of Todd Gurley is enough to earn the respect of opposing beef as the jerk off to be allowed to do things. Whereas you can't just have the presence of Ezekiel. Elliot, you need the production for look I. Yes. But the the only lost three games is true. But the problem is two of those three losses were when Gurley was less than his best. Two of those three losses came when Jared Goff was really really below average that you're gonna against the bears against the eagles had bad nights. And those are the two games were Gurley was nicked up where girly either didn't play or didn't was not able to play at his level. And I just I I just don't know Jared Goff is going to be able to be Jared Goff. If Todd Gurley is less. I hear what you're saying about deck that if Zeke is if they can can bottle Zeke a little bit. Then there's a lot seventy yards. It's a wrap. It's the rat on about that is rep. I don't know about that really think that Dak Prescott. And I know that key southeast. He's been the Jared Goff. That's fine. Daniel, I'm sure he'll recover from that. Once he had time to think about it. But do you really think back Prescott is going to carve up that secondary? With them dudes. No, I don't think he's going to car up that secondary Zeki. But I don't think Jared Goff is going to carve up Dallas. If Todd Gurley isn't Todd Gurley. I I think think the. the presence of Todd Gurley. So so even if he does give you the production his presence you can't play as of Todd Gurley is not gonna break for a big one. Yeah. But if he's not giving you the production his presence is not going to be enough in this particular game. Just him standing there being a cardboard cutout? They know there's something wrong. We're worried about how worried should be that his practice was officially limited. Does that mean anything doesn't mean anything does? What was limited that he didn't that they're bringing him alone slow because mental reps are more important for him than the physical rips. I. Matt Ryan, he's fine. He's fine. He's fine. He's fine. He's fine. We're just being cautious. We're being cautious..

The Ohio State twenty eight to three laying down and letting me live from Washington back door reminded me of Alabama on Saturday night against I couldn't understand why they basically they were up twenty nine. Let them get back in the game was Alabama twenty eight twenty Twenty-eight nothing NBA. We've got your game tonight. What they let them back into the game on college. I understand it. It's better than we have. That's what I understand how God's name. Do you score twenty eight points, and then never score again head and the rest of the made no sense to this contest. It was a back door cover. That's what it was. It was twenty eight nothing the game's over game over no reason to watch at all unless you're Nixon. And then the batting changes every day. And then you have to sit there and watch Washington scored three touchdowns still lost. Right. How about the two point conversion the guy? Ran it. Back seventy yards tackled by shoestring. All right. The Dolphins' Hook and Lateral: Is it the future of football?

"Dolphins. Six ninety nine touchdown was the longest touchdown with no time left to win a game in the Super Bowl era. That's good. Okay. Is the hook and lateral. The future of football Robert Mays show twice today. Man, more teams should do it. It won one game and had the opportunity to win another. But the Steelers when forget your Chris Boswell compensate went full Steelers. Yeah. I kind of think that one of the things I've talked about when when people have asked you what the next step in football is I actually think it's kind of it's not hooking laterals. It's sort of multiple people having the ball in the backfield. And then one of them throwing almost sort of like what the saints are doing a little bit with three quarterbacks. I if you have a crappy quarterback, it's better to have three of them and just have a little Mr. action there. Princeton does that with on those option plays, and they'll actually hand it to the guy that's the option runner, and he's also a quarterback's throw it, right? But apparently when I tweeted about the hook 'em out bit. Some people say the guy coach calorie the guy who doesn't punt who's famous for not punting. His thing is hook him are actually the next step in football. And actually, I had a role a thing as far as you're going to say, it's the same thing. Yeah. I've never I've never used that phrase hook and lateral before the Wikipedia says hook and lateral sometimes referred to as hook and ladder. But it's called hook and lateral. The Wikipedia I've never said hook and lateral in my life. It's a regional thing. It's like pop verse coke there you go. I just said, you you say, and you firmly believe that was the that was the term. I was like, okay. Well. I wasn't going to come in on shore. Good for you, buddy. I do any research. I appreciate that. I've always had hooking ladder. Maybe that's just the varsity blues influencing the way, I talk about football. Well, it's all. It was it was nuts. I mean, the play was insane. It was absolutely crazy. I even watch in real time. It was too hard to process. I mean, you have gronkowski back there. I guess to prevent a hill. Mary. And then the last thing you want with the guy who can't move that. Well, being your last line of defense happens. Right. So rob gronkowski is not the guy who went back there. That's so he's not Earl Thomas, I think we learned that today or. Or like Julio's defended those plays pretty pretty well in the past. Knocking those Johnson Calvin John yet. Yeah. Calvin Johnson has been a great great last play guy. But they knew they knew it was going to be a hook out excuse me, hook him out. All they said that the I mean you had to it would've been a seventy seventy yards in the air is capable for half the quarterback. Just not Ryan tannehill. Heff the quarterbacks might be strong. But yeah, I mean, I bet I bet a lot of them could throw seventy yards in the air.

College Football: Ohio State, Clemson and two season-defining drives

"College football continues to be wild. It continues to be wacky and it continues to deliver with every part of drama that I want. And yesterday we got it with those two months dries from Clemson in Ohio State, maybe perhaps saving their college football, playoff chances here, the first part of the season. Yeah, you know, the frustrating thing for me is we've been talking over the past several weeks, Alabama has yet to show any sign any sign of whatsoever. Right. And for a while, we were saying that Ohio State was kind of the one lone saving grace. We take a high of state can can compete, but Mahanta state verse TCU they took to the third quarter for them to finally exert their dominance. And last night that game looked a lot more like the look. A lot more like Penn State lost that when then Ohio State won at Dwayne Haskins, you know, looked very humid you took. You took that that was a Penn State choke job. I mean, look at the fourth down. There's there's a, there's a whole Twitter, anarchy right now over the play calling at the end of that game. You know what happened is fourth down and five after Ohio State takes the ball, what ninety plus yards to score after being down two touchdowns with eight minutes to go James Franklin in urban Meyer have like a time out, like who's going to like basically it was like an old school western duel, right? You call your time out and let me see what play you're running. And then James Franklin calls the time out in Franklin decides at this point that he despite having trace McSorley go for what it seemed like nine thousand yards in that game. I know it was only what four hundred in. Four hundred seventy yards of total offense. He decides to take the ball out of McSorley hand and run a quarterback draw on fourth in five.
