I assess my rpg on a three hour. Sweet spot group. Ride all right. Great question kevin so a. Let's get right into it because your seventy five minute for about ten sweet spot rides can have at t s about eighty to one hundred. Your three our sweet spot grew bride is going to have a t s about one hundred seventy five to two hundred so double the the training. So how's that gonna feel. Yeah you're you're gonna feel way more tired from that three hour rod than than how you are going to feel for that seventy five minute ride. So that's you know. "But i don't know if they ever had any intention of him playing outfield for them right now. Let's bring him on because he's a bat we're going to have the universe university the h this year he's gonna be our age and he's going to dominate the position and he's going to get us help us get to the playoffs and help us make a run and he did. He did he wanted. He won a silver slugger award for them because he was so good. His his spot in the lineup. Just hitting the ball. Nelson cruz would be out of by now if it wasn't for the d. h. edgar martinez. Who award is named after. Been out of the out of the league. Gosh definitely wouldn't be in the hall of fame. You barely made hall as it is. Yeah you know. So it extends guys careers. Big papi extended his career because he was a defensive liability. Call yeah sorry. Red sox fans but i think we all know it's true it's true it's a i'm a yankees fan and that's hard to except for me. Yeah his bigness is amazing so yes and that's a personality we wouldn't have had in the league right. I mean forget hitting and ability aside. His personality was second to none. His personality is bigger than the game. That was and that's what baseball needs. And so you're right affording players as opportunities to be that way is argument. Yep and that's always been my argument for why if they go a universal rule with the d. h. Forget university or universal. Like i guess you could say boschman of the d. h. It's gonna go universal d. h. The between the two. Yeah you're creating more jobs in the national league which they did this year and it was. It was excellent. It was great because well as far as creating another position. You know. And i and i feel like in this is actually brought up on the group and we talked about I think it was with the. I think somebody posted about the silver slugger ozone was brought up and actually a friend of mine. Marshall jensen brought up. He said it brings balance between the national league and the american league with free agents. And that's been one of my arguments forever to. I totally agree with them on that that you know that nelson cruz is a guy he still hitting the ball a thousand miles at thirty nine forty years old whatever he is but he would never consider going to the national because they didn't have the d. h. Right that's a bad that the everyone of those teams is missing out on you. I can see that. I can see that and here okay. So let's barter all right all right. We'll trade it.

"Yeah yeah that was there to things that they they figured they could compete with the national league with right as as a but the the designated hitter rules is buried in that history as well didn't come around until later you know that because the american league's always been more more liberal and more progressive That's why it went to the national league. What do you mean. that's why it went to the national league. The sorry. that's why he went to. The matt is american league because it wasn't until nineteen seventy-three they adapted the d. h. o. For real yeah. I thought it went way back. No i mean it's not like oh barney stinson rant. Where it since the dawn of time ted. Listen that's how it felt. Okay i swear. Ten burns told me. I swear ken burns told me that it goes back that far. I guess i'll have to go back and watch that. Just wonderful documentary again. That's one of my favorite things from how i met your mother the only time. Barney's trying to get ahead to do something since the dawn of time ted. Yeah that that's how you start early but anyway thanks for put me in my place in public. I feel so much better that i have break. I have a responsibility. Okay you very seriously you gonna to do it every time you know what's cool though but what's cool though. Is that this time you didn't offend any of the audience and only me and that's awesome. Usually you blackjack brad comes in just teasing you know. That's great. I i really did believe it was all the way back. I didn't know it was that early. So anyway cool. But i will say this. I will say this real quick against the d. h. Is that and i. I'm a fan of the d. h. I like it. But i do also appreciate The it forces pitchers to be baseball players right. Yes that like okay. Yeah you can throw the ball really hard and you can strike guys out where you can throw a wicked curve ball and strike out but can you hit that stuff yourself right. You know. I feel like it brings that element to the game but on the other hand hitting his really hard and it takes a lot of work and a lot of maintenance to be able to do it. Only getting getting game reps once a week is not enough for a for a a vad. The vast majority of pitcher does seem to be proficient at it. Sure yes so. That's why that's like the big thing. That i don't i don't like about it is it creates an automatic.

"Yep so that was just was actually. Let's go into roster limits. Yeah no it's it's really interesting thought and you're right. They do change stadiums. Change constantly all the time But let's do so. That's a perfect segue into roster limits We went from a twenty five man roster to a twenty six through the regular season with a maximum Number thirteen pitchers to me. That was a great idea. I i really. i don't see any flaws there. It doesn't bother me in any way it gave more guys. Opportunities gave managers more tools to use even though they were hamstrung by another rule. Like we just talked about but the to me. If this rule stayed it wouldn't bother me either. Like i have no beef with expanded rosters and keeping it this way forever. What what do you think so. I think this was going to be rule anyway this year. The twenty six man roster. The fact is expanded to thirty. Was a kobe role. And then you. They dropped down twenty-eight and keeping it there this year but yeah. I like the extra player. It actually with Sorry excuse me they. It breaks down the roster really easily. You know you've got half the guys on the roster are pitchers you've got nine position players an extra catcher and a couple utility guys so it makes it really easy. I feel he and that's to me. The utility guy is what happens here. Right you end up with another guy who can play small yeah pinch run drag abundant. Whatever that kind of stuff and you need those guys in fact. This reminds me looking at. This actually reminded me this is like we should have brought this up last segment. But i'd like to bring now since we're talking about the utility guys Kristopher negron said. Why is there not a gold glove award for the guys like these guys are out there. He's like we go out there. We were playing potential to play nine positions in one game.

"That's that's all. I tell me about your tell me about your idea. You said you had an idea okay. So this year they had expanded dugouts and bullpens so the so the players could socially distance like they had We saw like canopies. Put up in the in the stands and player sitting in the stands pitcher sitting down the lines. Whatever for the bullpens and they called those expanded dugouts and bullpens. Now i'm wondering brig. If is this something we could see permanently. Because if social distancing just becomes like the social norm just because the way things are from now until whoever knows when you know and also with expanded rosters which will get to Yeah yeah does dugouts. Bullpens might need to be a little bit bigger now. We see teams moving fences in and out all the time Red sox made the green monster a little bit taller few years ago. Mike did some construction made the made the green moss or a little bit tired. I think they dropped the field done a little bit. I think is what they did. I'm not entirely sure but anyways well and in houston they cut that berm out you go up the berm that safety hazard yep and they moved the flag it too because there were five years on that berm so weird but so the construction fields all the time. Stadium everything so. I'm curious if something we could see is the the dugouts model like expanded down the lines a little bit farther as well as in some like physical expansion of bullpens. Make him just a little bit. Bigger extent like expand the seating area a little bit more Because there's going to be an extra pitcher or two on the bullpens going to need a little extra room anyway but just and i understand it would take away from fan seating You know like there's there are seats right next to the bullpen. Actually it's it's like the camera wells but then seats but the heart to move all that stuff down anyway. So he's taken away seats..

"He turned off the lights and peace right out at a high school senior league game. We can't see anything is one of the guys is. Dad was going up and down the dugout with his lighter. Everybody got anything. Everybody got everything because this is before the day of smartphones with flashlights. You know yeah. You're right right lighter awesome. That's a real thing buyers want to go home and yeah i mean you see it you definitely see it but yeah so. That's what i was thinking. I think closer to fifteen makes more sense than closer to ten. Yeah yeah. I could get behind that. What are you what do you think about the minimum for pitchers. Oh man relief pitchers specifically. We saw some guys getting some pickles this year. Like especially in the playoffs. I guys where you know there was kind of a rally going everybody's hitting they bring in Reliever and the rally just keeps going. Can't stop and it's like okay. You want to bring in somebody to get your ideal match up and stop this thing but you can't yeah you can't you know an idol like it three better minimum at all at all because it it brings insult to injury for a team that might already be struggling and needs some kind of some kind of change. You know like you got pitchers who are strictly situational pitchers who come in to get one or two outs in a game you know and it. It does force guys to be better. You know to be able to get through three batters or end the inning but at the same time. The manager has to have the flexibility. The players have to have the flexibility. And i understand the players are mentally tough enough to be able to deal with it but physically. Maybe they're just not able to deal with that day not able to get out right The rigidity of it I don't like managers and players having to deal with that kind of rigidity Unlike at all get rid of that should go away forever..

I think i got to yeah. I think it was like eight to one at one point. So yeah that's what. I didn't even know it ended up being nine seven. I turned you know. I stopped watching. Stop paying attention even read you. The replay mean exactly where there's no commercials. But then so today actually. Monday the ninth november ninth. We had i mean early early morning for us. Deuce on the do some bears beat the. Kt whiz three two and went up one. Nothing in five game series best series Do embarrass points in pretty good ball right now and something to keep an eye on at least as far as we go since we're nc dyno's fans. The winner of this series goes on to play our diners. That's right. I don't know if i necessarily want to be playing the bears at this point. Not with this much time off. They're gaining momentum. We've had time off that's problem and it is. It is good that it's best to seven. It's best of seven series but with with the teen liaison barris who played the ansi diners very well. They matched up against each other against one another very well. This year I don't yeah. I don't know that i'd wanna play a team. That's basically turned into a buzzsaw when you're coming in from nothing. Hey that hey brad yeah are you. Can we should probably stand on our left foot feet and rub are. What do you call them. Rabbit's feet put a rally caps on just in anticipation. Just like get joe louis. Do we spin counterclockwise or clockwise. i can't remember. No one of us goes clockwise. The other one goes counterclockwise. Okay all right very good and then when we're busy we poor job rum. That's out goes okay. That sounds perfect. Sons absolutely perfect. But i don't know about you bring. I'm going to be paying very close attention to the series though. He had like four fifty against fastballs this year. Really like that's unreal at is unreal. So good for those guys. Yeah good. it's awesome and then today rookies of the year. Yes they did today. And i'm wearing my hat in honor of the jackie robinson rookie of the year award. Nice nice so i wanna. I wanna start with this. I could not be happier. That lewis unanimous american league rookie of the year. Yeah i am honestly a little bit surprised that it was unanimous. Just because they're like. For what he brings to the seattle mariners. It exactly. I'm so happy that he is recognized for it too well. He deserved it he did. He did once. I said he. He hit like five fifty for the first like three weeks of the season and then he finally got down below. Five hundred okay. He's not gonna hit five hundred sixty games but he's mortal it's fine disappointing. But it's okay i guess. Yeah but i'm cool with it uncle with at all and i'm very happy with it the national league rookie year as well hold on it must have been call for the one guy that didn't vote for griffey just decided to you. Know they can't ever make up for that. they did. Try to make up for that. Sony was just like unreal absolutely unreal to me. Don't understand but sorry. Wait the american league. That's fine national league. Rookie of the year was devin. Williams reliever with the brewers. Now brig this kind of goes back to our conversation. We had about a pitcher winning the mvp. This is the kind of the equivalent to that conversation of. Not just a pitcher but a reliever winning the rookie of the year right. How do you feel about that. I wanna know. I really really like it. I really like it. I think that if you if you're the best in your class you should be recognized as best in your class and you should be recognized as the best for the thing you do not.

Yeah there was nothing thrown from anybody and that if it was within his reach. It wasn't getting by him so so he's awesome. I'm excited about that. Also j p crawford for the mariners is like his second or third year. yeah Second year with the mariners. I don't remember if he saw any time. I think he came over from saint louis but i was actually only kind of surprised just because kind of the same reason that he's really young and he's in seattle so i wasn't sure how many people actually saw him pay attention to what he does. Well on that one. I didn't at all other than other than that. One play from. Two thousand nineteen where he was like on his back and through somebody out at first base from shortstop. You know yeah. Yeah but you're the only one knows unbounded at though regular highlight play from two thousand and nineteen. I'm not even kidding. You know. Gm mastro's He suing the astros suing. Jim crane the owner and the astros for breach of contract because he says that they fired him without. You're allowed to be fired for any reason. Sorry jazz the. I don't know anything about the case. I don't know what the grounds would be. I don't know what argument they're presenting really other than i know that so funny. It's been put the whole thing in the ground dead. I mean that's so funny. That's what i was like. Wait a minute. That's too funny. But yeah i mean. His argument is that he didn't know anything about it. That the previously negotiated punishment four for sign stealing using this system like the specific system and tools that the astros did was spend the manager suspend the gm both for one year. He got that suspension and then his argument was that That is a negotiated basically that instead of taking away the world series suspending players and bringing down his further these fury in quotations. Because we've seen that. Rob manfred has no fury on the astros that he would fire. That destroyed created fire now and manager at the time. Aj hinch but as it turns out. Jeffrey lou now has no case. Thank you break me. He might just gonna tie up legal fees. Yeah yeah yeah. it's just gonna cost him a bunch of money that that's funny. I didn't think about that.
