"Yeah i can't. I can't believe that but it's it's close. Here's how close it is. Sanders played sixty three percents of the snaps to gain forty percent but in the red zone. Eleven of seventeen snaps for sanders. Eight of seventeen for gain well so he's making inroads like we thought patterson was doing last week in atlanta. He's making inroads on those high value touches and he's getting catches those are valued touches to i. Think percentage wise that was the second highest believed. Believe it or not on twitter at fifty five percent believing the gain what would be better than sanders allow. i think. I don't know if you guys know this. But i think he. He scored the rushing touchdown after a play of his. I think he got down to the seven yard line. The phillies special. That's that's yes we've had. That has happened to mile sanders so many times where they've gone to hurry up long play over the last three years. Boston's scott used to them all the time. Okay right but it wasn't like all right. They huddle up and they're they're being signed to the fact that when teams who have miles sanders on their team. Get into the red zone. And he's on the sideline they don't think we should. We should get mile sanders in their weight. Okay let's talk about clyde edwards here. Eighty five percents started. He ends up with fourteen carries for one hundred two yards. And he scores receiving touchdown at the one yard line. But daryl williams was in at the golaghat goal line. Touchdown was in at the goal line on multiple occasions. So i can't sit here and say clydes got that role and also you had two catches so again. Like what do we do. Just just keep them. We can't just say a cell everybody right some guys. You just have to keep right. Yeah so just keep them but you you could and maybe you should. Because for guy who's now had one hundred yard games with the receiving touchdown in back to back weeks. Still playing fifty two percent of the snaps. He was third on the team in red zone. And gold go snaps at running back. Okay swifter clyde swift swift gibson. Clyde gibson i think gibson will be a little higher on the trade chart anything else. This game tyreek with a huge game. Travis kelsey sucks obviously devante smith at one hundred yards. Tight ends are interesting. I think with hurts and daughter. That's how that's how. The eagles were attacking them for a big chunk of the game was going onto the outer edges with the tight ends and with devante smith loved. How devante smith played in. This game loved the usage One some contested catches is thing Goddard is still a thing. I don't think greg ward is really a thing. don't really believe that regular quiz. Watkins is going to be a thing. Heath was watching josh gordon. Warm up before the game today. He had some video of josh. Gordon warming up well and i. Aren't you kind of excited. Maybe about him. L. trade meeting to the offense not necessarily being great for fantasy..

"I was expecting him to get out of the backfield. Because mckissick is so this. This might be my favorite prop bet this week. really interesting i. You're what you're going you're going over. Okay i'm i'm with you though i am with you. Mckissick designed piece for about half the catches yet last year. So we are seeing more. Antonio gibson is sweet. We want more of a pass catching ceiling. So we'll see how that plays out. But i'm with you with mckissick. The number the lines are too low. Right over nine and a half rushing yards. You can get love that and over. twenty nine. And a half scrimmage yards in. It looks like you're lying to thirty and a half but it's for your shopping right now. Take my. I'll take your well. Last time. i looked it was thirty and a half and then dropped twenty nine and a half then all the power to i mean. I think you're right. I think draftkings is twenty nine and a half but nonetheless. There's a there's a couple different lines are all very close on mckissick so if you can get them go for it. I mean look. He's only carried the ball eight times this season. But he's reached ten rushing yards in two of three games and the exception was eight only healy. He only played seventeen snaps in week. One that was his fewest since week. Seventeen of the twenty thousand nine hundred season and he still almost hit that line. So love the rushing yards. And then he's twenty nine scrimmage yards in back to back games. He didn't own fourteen of seventeen games last year. So you only concern here. Nita's at their road favourite so if they get a comfortable lead in this game that can mean a lot of antonio gibson and we may not see a lot of kids like one. That's the only concern. But i think we probably agreed should be a competitive game and that means situations where they have to score in those scenarios. You're gonna see some mckissick involves so like both over here so Mike in just far listeners. So so mike has a good time with me. Because i'm i'm constantly playing overs. And i know in years past the you know the unders hit more than the over is. We've got an interesting stat out right now and mike. You turned me onto this all the props. At caesar's this season the over his hit on seven hundred twenty and the under has hit on seven hundred fifty two almost a wash so So interesting so you challenged me this week to pick some unders now before we get to that there are still some overs. I just wanna tee up for our listeners. That i really like. I'm going to run through them. The arizona rams game i like robert woods over four and a half rushing yards the bucks patriots game. They're going to have to run the football in order to beat the patriots. So i like Garett blunt Over ten i'm sorry. Leonard fournette leonard fournette over ten and a half carries seattle and san francisco. It has been the deebo. Samuel show over two and a half rushing yards in the browns and the vikings i think this is going to be a barn burner baker mayfield over two hundred and fifty and a half passing yards in hook up with odell over four and a half perceptions which i think is really low the juices there though minus one forty five over sixty five and a half receiving yards so So those kind of rounds out my overs and again might challenge me to play some unders this week. So let's kick off the unders. That i like heading into week for the colts and the miami dolphins i like jonathan taylor under one. And a half receptions. He just has not been You know uber utilized in the passing attack. So i'm going under one and a half perceptions. What your player interesting. I'm so i'm expecting more involved in the passing game. That's how i have projected out based on his Usage both last season in really earlier this year you know he has been on to your point. I mean this. This is really your defense. He's only been targeted. Once each of the past two games but at the same time he was targeted seven times in week. One run forty two routes this season marlin mac is not a factor anymore. So i'll be surprised if he doesn't get back up to the three four maybe five target range and in that case he's gonna crush that number but you know based on the last two weeks and you only need him to get zero one catches him if he started a once or twice. You're probably gonna hit this one's oh that's pretty decent juche you can get on that one. What what are your place in this time again Let's see colts in miami. I have. I have a couple of here. Yeah i've one on each side. Jacoby perset over twenty nine twenty nine and a half pass attempts look he's thrown forty and forty nine passes so far in his two games and one of them. He actually entered the game after a few snaps for to a ton of yellow when he went out with the injury I know that they've been trailing At least the first game they were they were behind almost the whole game But still he had forty and regulation in a competitive game. Last week with the raiders You know the the coulter calling a pass first offense so far this season and you know now they of course face off with the miami dolphins which we suspect will be a pretty close game so twenty nine and a half to low. I know during his You know during his time with the colts he may have fallen fallen short of this line pretty consistently just because he was the iran more. It was a more run friendly offense but now in in miami. I think he'll He'll throw a plenty. We've seen that so far. The first couple of weeks The other one and anita this one really popped out to me over three and a half catches for jalen waddell. I mean he had twelve catches last week on thirteen targets. So i could not believe. This is the number for jalen waddell. I know that was a big spike from his first two games but he was over three catches in week one week. Two as well so You know this is way too low. He's playing over eighty percent of the snaps. She's handling it. Pretty big target almost a quarter of the targets and he sees a lot of his work in the short area. He's one of the lowest average steps at targets in the nfl. And what does that mean. It means her. High percentage throws he's cut eighty five percent of his targets. All we need is maybe five targets maybe six in the short area and you should be able to clear this mark so i like that one a lot all right. I'm gonna. I'm gonna run through a few of my other unders because i do want to get into the mac jones. Tom brady for before we end the podcast. But maybe one of these unders really stand out to you. Lions bears Montgomery under two and a half receptions again another running back that has not been utilized a lot in the passing game a devon single terry under eleven half receiving yards against houston zach. Moss obviously has taken over the lead in the backfield for the bills. Mike davis under two and a half receptions against washington it is a quarter of patterson show in the backfield of for atlanta mile sanders under two and a half receptions against kansas city. Again another running back not utilizing the passing game and less than at least the baltimore ravens. Marquees brown under four. And a half receptions dude can't catch the ball anyway. I don't see why they even throw him the ball they shouldn't under four and a half perceptions any of those understand that you like mike benita. You're gonna love this okay. So i'm looking at my projections as you're reading these off. I am on the opposite side of every single. One of your unders this week the falling and now you're telling me sign of all of the unbelievable boy. You know what. Monday's going to be fun. Money's going to be fun. Yeah we definitely have to check the scoreboard on these for sure..

"Try and bang their head into a wall. But sean mcvay is no dummy. He saw what the cowboys did in the season. Opener against the bucks and this rams team has all the weapons to be able to put a ton of stress tampa bay. It's pretty clear at this point. Teams are electing to be smart when they face the bucks defense. The light came on. It just does not make sense to run in the most efficient run defense back to back seasons just pound your head against a brick wall that is su vida and jp dallas as you mentioned seventy eight percent past the first three quarters on first and second down atlanta who wants to be a run first team with arthur smith. They went seventy one percent pass in those same situations. Week to sean. Mcvay for all the running he does. And it's a lot picked up on this last season when a in this up that the two teams at mcvay went fifty one percent pass and early downs. The first ten weeks of the season last year then week. Eleven came against the bucks defense and he was actually ahead of this curve mcvay went seventy-seven percent pass early downs with a quarterback. Jared goff that he didn't really trust so right off the bat. You know in this matchup. You're gonna get a rams offense going to attack. Its opponent the right way. That's through air and it's with a better quarterback than last year. It's with better weapons than last year. You know basically you had the opening game against stack first game officers ankle injury shoulder strain. That kept him out most of camp. And then you had an atlanta offense. It's learning a brand new system in game two of the year. Those offenses were success. Won fifty nine percent of their first down passes against tampa overall the bucks right now. Twenty first passing success rate defense. This is the area attack. Mcveigh has shown that he knows that's where he needs to attack. You know you look at the week one matchup again going back there. I think we outlined in focused on cd-rom lamb version murphy bunting and then after lamma visceral them you know bunting left with a dislocated elbow. Now there's no real viable slot option for the bucks rosser. Were kicking the tires on. Potentially josh norman. When he was on a practice squad and that never materialized. So who's covering cooper cup. Who's covering woods in the slot for tampa here last week. Tampa played a safety in the slot with mike edwards. He had the two big pick sixes. He looks the part but he's a backup safety being kind of pressed into duty. He graded out well. Last year. in the safety roles a backup. He transitioned last week. Twenty four slot snaps not his natural position. The other option is ross. Cockrel played seventeen snaps in the slot last week. I the jokes. You can make about his last name or as bad as coverage skills and he's been targeted fourteen times a season. He's allowed twelve catches two touchdowns good for a one forty three passer rating when thrown whether it's woods whether it's cup and cup has operated more in the slot than woods that matchup is is going to be at a disadvantage for the bucks defense period and kind of what i'm seeing here. Todd is two offenses that understand how to smartly attack. It's opponent based on their scheme and within that scheme. The player matchup should present some problems as well. And that's the reason we've seen this total go from fifty four out to fifty six shooting through the key of fifty five despite you know potentially antonio brown being out and then we saw sean mcvay missed practice yesterday with an illness. Although they're saying not the big c. We also saw this morning. And i didn't tell you this but you know at fifty five and a half. Another wave came in so a group said. Hey i i still like this over fifty five and a half even though i missed the fifty four in the fifty. Four and a half. And it's like. I'm cool taking not only the worst of it but i'm taking the worst of it past the key number fifty five interesting with this first half total still sitting at twenty six and a half but these two offenses clearly more than capable. If they start off slow to get things rolling. You mentioned the movement on the total. We've seen pain. The side is interesting because we saw the rams actually open a short favorites. I know there's gonna be a lot of public support. You know all the trends. Tom brady is an underdog. Those aren't going to apply unless there's buy back on the rams but that public money or in your opinion professional money. That's move this price through the zero on tuesday and wednesday that is that's pro money and what i will say is i think we may have just a difference of opinion and we kind of always joke about this every year and eventually it comes out and here we are we week. Three like the understanding of pro money in groups. And we're not all working together in unison ronald just like that's a lie around the campfire. That's a lie. We know there's a zoom meeting for everyone that has their handicapping card that loops everybody in and you guys have to be on the exact same side for a game to be designated professional side so what i think transpired is tuesday. I got a note that tampa was going to be coming in. It came in. They wanted obviously get out ahead of the after mentioned public money. That will come in on game day. Get the best of the number. But i do think there will be a scenario. Now that you have crossed the zero in your at one and a half people that had a different sentiment and we're thinking about the rams straight probably going to them. In a lot of teasers. I know the total high..

"But having kaiser white there the ability to fill all those roles is great we will probably see more of tranquil Probably this week against the cowboys is try to throw the ball. More flood the feel more receivers I just think that in. I think on sunday they knew those the redskins try to run the ball and keep a close. They wanted to keep the boxful. The chargers played mostly nickel. I think they played something like eighty or eighty five percent nickel on sunday. We will probably see a lot more dime against the cowboys this coming sunday. Just because of the way they throw the ball around the field Yeah i think. I think we'll see more tranquil as things unfold and they and they plan week to week with game planning. This isn't gus bradley. Who is rolling out the same game plan every week. They're going to have a different game plan every week and they're gonna utilize a personnel based on that game plan so and i think that's how tranquil will factor in Yeah and that's what. I was kind of lewd toon. I mean kenneth murray while he played every single snap There wasn't a lot obviously collecting a lot of stats is fine and somebody's gotta make a tackle which is great but his role is replaceable. He's a box linebacker there in coverage you have to kind of hide him a little bit He's great near the line of scrimmage which is going to be his role but guys like a guy like kaiser. White is just irreplaceable. A drew tranquil can probably get some of that in the system but kaiser white is just the way they're using him as unreal and it's going to be hard to replace you ever does go down or anything. Definitely i think Another story line for the defense. And it's kind of twofold is it's the deep theory defensive line and linebacker play as it related to the running game which was really outside of the red zone struggles and the turnovers and the penalties was really the biggest negative from the game and it was the interior defensive line getting driven back five six yards deep into the backfield in the defensive backfield And giving antonio gibson room to run and and make positive plays in the running game. They just had a lot of trouble stopping the run on sunday and the obviously the player of the year. The cheery defensive line not being able to get a field and disrupt beginning driven back also has heavy impact on what guys like is your white. Andrew tranquil and kenneth murray will do and their roles. 'cause they can't come down hill because they're constantly dodging traffic so the two go hand in hand. But it's something they're going to need to fix because the cowboys are gonna see that gonna run the ball down their throats on tuesday so they're gonna have to figure out how to stop that running game and you say forced the cowboys to pass as well as dak is playing. It's scary but you gotta take the running game away. I with the cowboys. So we're gonna have to figure out what to stop that or they're going to have a hard time getting off the field so that that interior defensive line has to get much better. And i don't know where that's gonna come from right now but it has to get much better to help out the linebackers and allow them to make more place. Yeah yeah. I'm an interior. Defensive line is a little bit worrisome especially going against dallas this weekend and their running game so guy that. I also want to talk about was derwin. James guy talked a little bit about him but Going into this defense. I mean it's a surprise to no one that derwin james played everywhere on sunday. According to what. I charted you played seventeen snaps a free safety. He played eighteen lined up as a slot. Quarter to which who's lined up against the tight end. A ten is a linebacker in the box. And then you also rushed off the edge as an treasure once so there's a lot of talk about signing guy like john johnson who you know staley staley's former safety it with the rams but what was evident on sunday was that derwin james setup for that fluid role staley's defense and to be honest. Her wins better suit equipped to run with it. I mean i know allow charter. Fans wanted john. Johnson this off season. But if you've gotta derwin james who can do it and better. Why not just roll with what you got and so to me. I mean the way they're they're running derwin james everywhere on his defense his role is going to be more like. We saw in college than what we saw his rookie year. I mean they did move him around during his rookie year. But i just looks like stylish is gonna put them wherever he possibly can put him because derwin can do everything. He's versatile enough. He's got the foot speed. He's got the athleticism to do anything you ask them to do. And so derwin. James obviously as good as advertised. He's playing everywhere. He's a versatile piece in this defense. Going gonna kinda get into more depth about this defense a little bit. But i mean you can't say enough about how good derwin james was on sunday. Just i mean. He's going to be an unsung hero because he's going to be doing everything everywhere every sunday. Yeah i think that to me was it. Seemed like they really used him as eraser on third down quite a bit..

"Eight hundred gambling was phenomenal on sunday. They were really good. I mean outside of two big plays by maclaurin one of which was moron. Cuyler murray on a drag route erc kenneth murray on a drag route than it was on the secondary and one where might williams got. Beat a little bit on the double move and Was late coming over to cover for the pick. Their wide receivers didn't do anything and there was nothing downfield. Everything they were doing was to. They're running backs the Football team pretty much. Their entire game plan was throwing the ball to the running backs underneath trying to get the ball. Their tight ends. There was nothing downfield and when they did go downfield it was covered for the most part so the secondary was really really good outside of really just one Michael davis snap where he got. Beat by double move. He was phenomenal. I thought i had. I had a sunday samuel junior breaking up three passes in that game. He didn't get credit for a single. Bu but he he was definitely in on the mix where he broke up. At least two. I thought three passes in that game. chris harris junior had a good break on a ball that wound up getting negated because negate penalty a in quotes the way the yeah. The secondary was really good. They were tight they. They held down the fort Even even when there wasn't a pass rush it seemed like nobody was getting open really very well play gained by the secondary so on defense. I was so excited to Get to look at this brand new daily defense that we've been talking about op season that i chartered a bunch of guys. Well two of them and then overall about the defense and the first one was kaiser. White and We're we're talking small sample size but just talking about kind of the outlook. How this defense is kaiser. White is the key linebacker in this defense. I think everybody assumed kenneth. Mary was set up for an expanded role and he is but sunday. Show that white is going to be just an invaluable versatile piece. Kaiser was in the box for seventeen snaps lined up in the slot for ten to ten other times. He will be the linebacker. That's kind of the moving piece and nickel depending on what washington ran white followed suit with either adding another body in the boxer lining out and coverage. A kenneth murray played a hundred percent of the stamps against washington. Of course that's his role but he's being used more. Is that true boxer. Who's kind of attacking the line of scrimmage more times not in kaiser. White is acting that movable piece that has the flexibility to rome all over the field like he did on sunday. We saw that. The chargers played a lot of too high safeties with nazir adderley and derwin james and it is imperative that they have a guy at the second level that can play not only in the box but play or play in the box nickel and right now. 'cause you're whites that guy kenneth murray is important and i you know. Obviously he's got a big role. He played every single. Snap on sunday. But you don't you cannot fill a guy like your white. It's pretty easy to fill what kenneth murray can do. But that's why we saw drew tranquil only had three snaps. Kyw's you're white is going to be so important to this defense He's gonna be in nickel he's just a vital cog to this defensive system guy you can move around There's another guy obviously on defense that you know that's not hard to guess derwin james. That's also very versatile. And that is very important. Which i'll talk about too but kyw's your white a guy that was all but forgotten from this previous staff is now such an important piece on that second level for this defense. He's going to have a really really important role going for this team. Yeah kaiser was all over the field Had a couple of tackles. I'm sure that'll get cleaned up. Both resulted in fairly big plays But you mentioned the versatility and it's something that renaldo hill talked about because we're hill actually tried to recruit. Is your white coming out of high school He was at. I believe and he talked about his ability to blitz his ability to come down hill and make plays the ability to run and cover and hit and he's all that on display on sunday. As for kenneth. Murray i i know he led the team in tackles and people are gonna wanna cling to that and applaud him for taking the next step in to. I didn't really see much. That was that special about what he did. No i thought he played flat-footed pretty much all day long seemed like his eyes were in the backfield wasn't moving and reacting. He was getting stuck on climbing guards quite a bit and had to shed. Almost all of his tackles were five or six years down the line. There was really no sideline silent action for him. He wasn't coming down hill. They did use him as a blitzer. A handful of times he wasn't overly effective in that role. And i mentioned the play with a terry mclaren coming across the field. They had us. I in twenty and he mclaren got a seventeen yard completion on a across the field where heineke came up. Towards the line of scrimmage Murray kind of mirrored him came up and maclaurin snuck in behind him for that catch after married vacated. His area just thought murray was us. Okay i mean he may tackles tackles aren't always plays like we talk about I don't think game was particularly praiseworthy..

"Welcome back to know your enemy. I'm jeffrey benedict. Filling in for michael. Back with me is tate's who's been hanging out with us in a lot of different beats steel curtain podcasts. Also his own podcast called no it alls and It's they cover you guys. Cover every single sport. We've been yeah and with us for the second half of our show our enemy expert on the enemy this week. Is bruce nolan from buffalo. Rumblings bruce. how're you doing folks on fantastic. Thanks so much for having me be part of it. Good thanks for being on here so we. We were just talking about the differences between the steelers roster from last season's buffalo game and what we what we have coming into week. One of twenty twenty one so i'm going to turn that around and ask you. What are the biggest changes to the buffalo bills roster from last season two this season. I think it starts with a defensive line. I think that when you went into the twenty twenty season there was a remake on the buffalo bills. Offensive line brought in mario. Addison in quentin jefferson drafted. Aj vanessa you thought. Okay you're going to get a new look buffalo bills defensive line and he didn't quite go the way they wanted it to so they said you know what twenty twenty one. Let's try it again. Let's just get a mulligan on this. So quick. jefferson's out verna butler restructures. They draft gregory russo. They draft boogie basham and all the sudden they start to get a little bit of juice going in the preseason and the reports coming out of training camp and they think okay. Maybe this time we finally got it right. because that's always been a big part of successful. sean mcdermott. Defenses is being able to send wave after. Wave after wave of town onto defensive lineman. It's not about a singular impact player. It's about waves and of multiple good players. And if you look at the success that he had when he was in philadelphia anytime he had success when he was in carolina it was always as a result of the front seven being strong specifically being able to get pressure with four. The buffalo bills. Actually blitzed a fair amount of the time last year. Not because that's who they are not because that's who they want to be because they it out of necessity not out of preference and so the biggest change for the buffalo bills in two thousand twenty one versus twenty twenty s. They think they may have gotten the defensive line right all right now. I was looking one of the things i like to do. Is i like to look at the snap. Counts from the prior year and the depth chart for this current year. And see like how how how much you know people were they will retain and how many new faces do they have looking at the bills on defense. Fifteen of the top seventeen snap counts on defense returned and you added to high draft. Picks to the defense like the defense. Yeah obviously you said the has had a bit of a makeover last year but this defense isn't just adding a few pieces. This is a defense is growing and has some consistency Do you expect kind of a return to what the buffalo bills defense was. You know the two years prior or do you think they'll be somewhere in between last year and what they were the before. I think that stylistically the defense is probably going to look a little different even when the bills had a top five defense over the last couple of years before drifting off a little bit in two thousand twenty two kind of middle of the pack defense. It was really secondarily focused for the bills. It was because you had mica hide because you had jordan player because you had for davis white because you had some semblance of a warm body at cb two who could the other three could sort of make up for the levi. Wallace is now that guy right now but historically. That's just been a rotating. Rotating body in the sean mcdermott defense. And it was really about the secondary it started with coverage and the coverage. Assist the pass rush. So i think there's a reasonable chance. The buffalo bills defense bounced back. But i don't think it's going to be because of the defense looking the same stylistically as the way it did before. I think it's going to get back to prominence if it's going to get back to being a top five defense. It's going to be because the pass rush helped the back end more so than the back end helped the pass rush all right looking at the offense. I did the same kind of snap. Count the depth chart. Look at the offense. The offense returns fourteen out of seventeen of their top snap counts to the depth chart this year including their top nine the top night guys for snaps in two thousand twenty are back for the bills offense in two thousand twenty one and that was a top offense in the league. Is there any significant changes on the bills offense or is this. Is this the bill saying you know. This is the thing that is right. Let's give these guys another year together. Let's let's let's see if they can just do better just by knowing each other more. The phrase run it back got used quite a bit in the buffalo bills concert community when it revolves around the buffalo bills offense. The only major change was the departure of john brown and the insertion of emmanuel sanders. And so there's a lot of discussion about whether or not that was an upgrade. I personally am of the opinion. That is a slight upgrade emmanuel sanders. I think has enough juice left in the tank..

"Offenses feels versatile. I'm not a hundred percent sure. That is going to work if you were just in the middle of a quarterback battle jamie's number one pick. He's started all the gas head start in a long time. But he's a starting quarterback. Am i just supposed to assume that jamie's rhythm wise he gets into it is going to be cool or at least be at his best if tastes coming in and tastes averaged seventeen snaps with drew brees. That tastes man. Starts getting seventeen. Snaps with james winston. Do we think that in a hunt to be versatile that that could actually hurt janus mrs rhythm as he's trying to find some flow within the offense. No i don't think so And rodney here. Since told me a long time ago that the league has a way of humbling. You and that's what what's happened. He was he was the pick that he was and he had the the career that he's had so far and he's had to go to a new place in the savage himself and this is one of those situations where he's got a. It's no longer about him. Being the number one of a number one draft choice or or the starting quarterback. He's got a show that he can contribute to the team in a meaningful way. Not put the team in bad situations by making poor decisions and and being able to use tastes them as a as a supplement to that as a way to take reps off the opposing defense and in preparation for janus that. That's a huge benefit. That is a significant bennett. Benefit for james to have but it's also a very strong reminder that if you don't take care of the football which is the most important thing you have to do and the nfl then there is someone else that is going to come in and take care of the football and and having that consistently there is a good thing. The only pushback i would have to. That is who who. Who's who's that guy that's gonna come in and take care of the football it's not taste mill is sack. Turnover machine like they. I mean the. Maybe it is to me. And i'm the only guy john trevor siemian that are like. Hey why wasn't he in this battle. But i mean maybe that's who it is but here's the reality of it. This is interesting. Because james wasn't number one and eisman trophy winner and there. Are this kind of odd taste. Mill stands out there so the because the saints for the last fifteen years have been a super relevant team but that bill has now come do and the same no matter who won. This quarterback battle are going to be back like. That's the other element of it. There's a lot more saints talk in the off season there. Once the season gets going they spent all that money coach. Put it on the credit card. Put it on the credit card. Wanna win one withdrew wanna win withdrew the salary caps. Fake will push money down. The road would voidable years with all this stuff and now that roster is thin they actually still have a decent amount of top level players but there will be injuries and their second and third level. Guys are non-existent. michael. Thomas is still. We don't know when he's coming back. After the week one injury he suffered like teen lecco. Oh he's not in a position to contend for anything this year. So i get why the hope is. Hey play james. Because if he learned from a year under drew learn from. Sean payton got his eyes fixed. He's always had a bunch of talent. Because they've james can be a fifteen interception guy. he's a good quarterback. I know that's more than you would like but fifteen you can handle one journ over a game. You can handle given the fact that he is such alive arm and so that's like what this year's about figuring out of james comey their quarterback moving forward because they're not going to be a good football team this year. You to your point about paying the bill they do have to pay the bill and and and you know eventually you have to make really tough decisions but but you say if it's fifteen turnover fifteen interceptions that. That's one part of the equation. But it's also. How many touchdowns is it. Twenty thousand fifteen interceptions or we assuming that it's going to be thirty touchdown interception. Yeah i it depends on what that ratio is and his ratio has never been very very good. And when you're a good team it's hard to overcome turnovers if you're not a good team it's almost impossible to overcome turnovers. So if you feel like your defense is solid if you feel like you can run the ball effectively and you can manage game. Sometimes you have to do that in order to win and look. I'm cheering for james. I think that that he's an exciting player. he's a he's a likable guy. It you wanna see everybody get a second opportunity and take advantage of it and the most important question he asked to answer is if he's able to now fix this this problem and i really hope he is now history tells you that that you know guys tend to be who they are six point. Are you setting up to fail with the with the way that roster set up and who they've got right now we shall see. Hey long road to the big game just beginning. Which team is more likely to make it back to the super bowl this season chiefs or box. Break it down on the other side. Versing spurs on a friday tomorrow called football kicks off on fox. Big ten battle awaits dual threat adrian martinez lean nebraska against illinois one eastern on fox and the fox sports don't for some stores historic morning sponsored by ram trucks built to serve and we are talking about the last two teams standing last season in the nfl. The bucks and the chiefs pro. Football focus has kansas city with the league's highest projected win total of twelve and a half then brady in the book sitting right behind them at twelve put last year's super bowl teams be this year's super bowl teams. All right nick. I got a really strong feeling. I know which team you trust more to get back. Tell us why the chiefs will we play in super bowl. Fifty six well denied actually rather tell you why the box will not be because you are correct like everybody knew. Here's you will be there because you. How do you get to the super bowl. You gotta win three playoff games. Unless you're the chiefs you only have to win to ever your homes have been the starter. They have a by. How do you..

"He hasn't really been able to get a ton of live rep. So somebody like am definitely needs more live reps because Henry Anderson gotten, plenty of live rep. So I think you missed one practice, but he's played plenty of live, snaps and Training Camps. So I think that's correct. Element of it as well. You mentioned Henry Anderson playing late into the game. He played Seventeen snaps overall. So it's not like he played at times, not like he played for snaps in the game or anything like that. But I thought I'd the I've got Henry Anderson's look great in the in the padded practices. I think he has a good speed to power. I think it's got a nice inside countermove and one-on-ones that we see come out a lot. I think he's got decent physicality long run. I thought he's been a really good player in practice. So I was really surprised to see him out there for that long. You mentioned that maybe is just learning the defense right? And getting live reps to get the knowledge defense down and and and the framework of it down, but I was definitely shocked to see him out there that long. Yeah. Yeah, I again I was too and I I don't hate Bob's explanation that it, they just he wants more time to get comfortable with the defense and the coaching staff. Applied. Should, I don't think that that's too, outlandish. I really can't think of anything that makes more sense than that. And again, even if that was the case off. He could have had those snaps earlier in the game. So that that one's a little weird not something to to keep an eye on because I think you know going back to Mike Pennell. We all thought Mike Pinella was a lot, right? People talk about him being this great outfit and then I remember eating, you know, just from the beginning, it didn't work out and I know that Anderson's there, but we've seen it happen right? Before defensive tactics. Now, is not the only one. I can't think of any others, you my head Pony, Eliza going one and this has happened a lot at that position in particular with the Patriots were, it just doesn't click with the system and it's not just guys they signed. I mean, my gosh, well, everybody knew he was good at the majors are going to sign it before they signed him and he was the same thing even before the Jets cut him. There were people. I mean, like, like people who know, I think you were one foot faulting you for this cuz I know I brought Henry Anderson was a fit for them for a year. People were saying from the jump. Oh, he's going to get cut by the Jets. He's going to sign with the Patriots. Like this is a guy who was already penciled in as a patriot before. He was a free agent. No, it was the same way. I don't remember as much as Kony Ealy, but, you know, because we've seen that before and I like to say this, all the time, Bill Belichick, you do something as long as he has patterns are going to develop you look for patterns. You can kind of start to predict with the Patriots are going to do. Here is a pattern. Let's see how it plays out the pattern of players. And we can continue to talk about this, as we move backwards into the secondary off, the pattern of players playing late into preseason games for Bill. Belichick always spells, not good things for the player, right? Like that. He is very rhythmic about things like that. But these guys, the only guy that I can remember that played, don't you remember what Jason McCourty was playing in the fourth quarter? That was weird..

"This is a little bit taking some time here at the beginning in the show but i have to give a big shoutout today because today is my eldest sons tenth birthday. My oldest son. Gabriel is ten years old today. He is my middle child after children. He's the one in the middle. But he but i have to say he's my eldest son because i have a daughter and then two sons and he's turning ten and it's crazy because i always remembered with his birthday. That was my last day in what was supposed to be my life long career i took i had spent ten years for those of you know i'll share a little bit about myself. I actually i have a degree in physics and a minor in mathematics and also that i have a certificate for secondary education. Along with that is is what i went to college for and i loved physics. I love math. And they'll reason. I switched from math. Physics at the last minute before went to college is because physics was math with a purpose. So that was it. I still really love numbers as you can tell with the staff geeky but I wanted to go into teaching as much. Because i wanted to be coach. That's what i wanted to do. I wanted to coach. So i got a job right out of college and i was began teaching and coaching. I coached high school football and indoor and outdoor track. I did that for seven years and when my daughter was born what my last semester. I wasn't coaching. High school actually coached at the local college but when my daughter was born i took a leave of absence from coaching because she was born right before football season started and therefore i knew that i just wasn't. Luckily she was born early a little bit and would she have been born late. It would have been already when practices started so i took a year off from coaching. And then that ended up being two and then three and then when my son was born actually took a leave of absence from teaching and a semester turned into a year turned into to turn into three and now turned into ten which allows me to do behind the curtain. So happy birthday gabriel. I'm glad that i had a chance to To to to take my turn after my wife took a turn we were. And then i won the flip for the third child Of of of spending time with him when he was born and it turned into this which is fantastic. So now out here. I am talking to you all on a thursday morning. You're like that's enough dave. Let's talk steelers. Yes here's what's crazy. I'm reminiscent we're gonna be reminiscent even more. Because what we're gonna be talking about today is kendra green kendrick green. But we're not gonna be talking about kindergarten. We're gonna be talking about what kendrick bourne could be. Katie green is my choice to win the job. Day one of the twenty twenty one regular season in other words week. One starter at center for the steelers. I just think that he's the best option. I know a lot of people would be any. Bj finney is a backup. That's what he was with the steelers and when he left the steelers struggled to even be that anywhere else so to come in and think he's going to be an answer as a starter. I think putting too much on him. I like bj finney. I think he's a great person. I like him in the role that he's in. I just don't know that he's the guy that you want to turn to totally if he's got start for awhile until green is ready. That's what it needs to be. But it's not like i think. Bj fini's the long-term answer at the position. where i think kinder- green is so you're like well. What are you talking. so much about. Kinder- green kindergarten was the steelers third round. Pick this year. And i went to do an article this weekend. This didn't come from a question from a user. This came from a question that i ended up posing myself. I went to write an article this weekend as much as i started diving into it. Either send a message to jeff. And i'm like this article coming later. This has got to be static this week. This is absolutely crazy. What i found. I was just looking for a simple answer and it was not a simple answer. And you're you're gonna love this. My simple question. That i had thought was a simple answer was okay kendrick. Green third round pick. What if he starts week one and then starts week two and starts the whole season. Who was the last third round. Pick to do that for the steelers. Wow you want to talk about having the dive deep the depth this had to go. I started with twenty. Twenty and i was working backwards. Came and lets you see how it worked out. You probably already have in your mind. Oh it might have been so and so it could have been so and so. Let's get this answer. So twenty. Twenty alex smith week one. He wasn't a starter he didn't start until week. Twelve after by depre- got hurt. He played ten snaps his first game. He had one tackle. So that's what i'm looking at. You know how many snaps you played in week one. What kind of stats did you have. When did you really become a starter. That was alex meant the year. Before was the andre johnson. He played twenty four snaps which was thirty six percent of the offensive snaps for the steelers and he had three catches for twenty five yards. But he didn't actually get a what would be called a start until week three but he played all the time. So you like okay. We're getting there. But he didn't really play a significant portion of the snaps until much later in the season the other two thousand nine hundred third round pick justin lane. He didn't play a single defensive snaps his rookie year and he's yet to become starter. So that's just that was what was. He wasn't even active for week. One you're gonna find this being a theme if you go to two thousand eighteen. There was two third round picks there as well mason. Rudolph inactive wasn't act of the entire season. He didn't start until year two and he wouldn't even started at. It's ben roethlisberger got hurt then. The other third round pick was ju- core for he played seventeen snaps which was twenty percent of the steelers offensive snaps in week. One he didn't have any stats. He was offensive linemen and he technically started week. One that's correct chook. Sikora for started week one of his rookie year. You're like why only played twenty percent of the snaps. He was the jumbo tight end and the steelers opened their season.

Rudolph andre johnson Gabriel twenty percent gabriel ten years seven years kendrick bourne thirty six percent twenty five yards bj finney today twenty four snaps seventeen snaps thursday morning ten snaps Sikora first game jeff three

"Well i mean you know. You're guaranteed a turnover from daniel jones. He has won an all but one of his starts on the career so the washington football team they they did a nice job against him in in the first time and their defense will hopefully be healthy Coming off their bye week. So that's a good one The dolphins had a great win To a tongue by law did not do much so you get the cardinals coming off by his first road trip. That's when i look for and then as you said adam nick mullins does interceptions so the packers coming off a frustrating loss you know. I think that they'll be able to if they're with the lead and mullins is chasing points will get a radic. Look for honestly. I think the giants are interesting. They had a great guy. Answer would be the fourth one hour we gave you three but the giants for. Yeah the giants are the twelfth best. Dsp really depends on your scoring but this one league that i use just like i kind of standard old school league. Their twelfth per game and They crushed the football team. A few weeks ago. I had a pick six scored like seventeen points As davis or any other. Dsp oh houston like what about houston Gluten come that. I don't really want to trust them. They're not that good of a defense. Okay i noticed the titans get a lot of interceptions. And i noticed nick. Foles likes to throw some of those too so you you might do. You should be happy with your this week. I think Kickers who wants to take this one jamie does because i haven't looked you got fairbairn who had a double digit fantasy game against jaguars the first time around. So he gets jacksonville again. zane gonzalez has been good as part of a good offense gets the dolphins at home. And then anybody facing the jets score points so but nick focus the third option. Great thank you. santa fe. Twenty twenty-five giants twenty-three. Tom brady did finish with twenty. Three fantasy. points was a bit of a struggle through forty passes which is pretty typical for him Yeah interest- interesting game. I guess let's talk about four net ronald jones. Don't do anything wrong ever ronald jones. That's my advice to you. 'cause you're you're gonna get benched eddie fumble then. He basically barely played after that. Is there any doubt in your mind who you'd rather have rest of season is it is clearly fornet. It's for net. But i don't feel amazing having either one for net head. A lot of he had a couple of really nice runs. The well and there are a lot of runs. Looked like he was diving. To find the line of scrimmage it did not look good at all his role he needs to be better. I think he's the one you'd rather have rest of season in it's mistakes in consecutive weeks for arrojo so it's gonna be part time work for him moving forward. I'm sure this snap. Count was seventy three percent for fornet s. Ronald jones played seventeen snaps twenty four percent. I mean bruce. Arians does not like ronald jones. Whenever he screws up. It's just go. Sit down. So i think you just look at it as a for net should be the better of the two. What do you think about mike evans. Five catches fifty five yards and a touchdown he also got open for a deep ball. Bradberry knocked it away. Gray platelet bradberry denver. Yeah and he killed them. On that route to mike evans What do you think about close to one hundred percent. Well that's good antonio brown's coming back we know he's getting a ton of that's bad red zone target though which is good. That's good the problem for mike. Evans isn't so much antonio brown this week. It's chris godwin now. I was a little surprised in the report..

"Ronald Jones Zach it's. Jones my rby three or flex yes. Yeah. For sure. Okay. Also. In this game, let's see Nick mullins got bench for CJ, beathard. Let's hope Jimmy Garoppolo back from Miami. Next week another big day for Jerick McKinnon a quiet day for Jeff Wilson McKinnon played almost every snap so it seems obvious that. We get most back next week Jerick McKinnon is. A must start. deebo Samuel he's eighty one percent roster they east him in Yeah you guys feeling good about Brandon you he had a rushing touchdown for the second straight game two catches for eighteen yards after having five catches for seventy yards. Last week at the giants Baguette. MIAMI. Next week as I mentioned the rams, are you feeling like Brandon is fifty eight percent roster? Are you feeling like that's reasonable or do we need make him more? You know more roster I think that's probably reasonable I. Think if I'm a forty niners fan I feel fantastic about I think he's a great player but I think outside of George Kettle and whoever the starting running back is if it's mostly if he's healthy if he's not then it's jerk McKinnon. Really rely on anybody else in this past game in terms of I. You can and depot and I think as do gets healthier, he's probably going to surpass as well. So it's a good problem for the forty niners to have. I don't know that it's great for fantasy so. Yeah, I'm with you there both do uber both gonna run the ball probably once or twice a game. They're both GONNA have a big target share and when kittles healthy kills the only guy you can rely on. So I think I should maybe even a little less I'm very discouraged with deebo coming back because I think they profile similarly in this offense. All. Right. Let's take a look at the Cleveland browns running back. Situation Nick Chubb on I R which means he's going to miss at least three games. Do we have any more information visit like he's out six weeks or anything several week injury expected back this season Oh Jeez okay. So You know you really have to take a look at what happened? They didn't just give the keys to the car to to Kareem Hunt they use a lot of the Ernest Johnson. He had five carries in the second court. So Chuck got hurt but basically almost at the end of the first quarter and at that point Kareem, hunt did not have a Kerry six carries for Chub and then the next Carrie went to Kareem Hunt I was his first of the Game Johnson had five carries in the second quarter hilliard wasn't really much of a factor if there was any garbage time in the fourth quarter Johnson got. Five carries in the fourth quarter. So like hunt was the guy I'm not trying to make it that I'm not trying to say he wasn't but I'm just curious what you guys think this kind of Split. It will be because he said, you know Kareem Hunt could be the number two running back and fantasy going forward. I was saying you're crazy is number four but of course we love him and he's going to be great. But he did not get a huge snap share. What did he has coming off the bye to settle it's tough. The judge. That's a great point I suppose. Johnson. Seventeen snaps thirteen carries on those saps. Yes. The game flow was. Calling for that. But at the same time, they want to have a split and they want to run the ball a lot. So I think hunt will have an uptick in his touches obviously but it's not like he's going to get the bell cow load I think Johnson's and must pick up out of the hunt is an rb one but I don't have them in my top three moving forward. I agree I think you laid that out perfectly bad I think he's probably A. Low End rb one was like this offensive line for the browns has been fantastic to see early no matter who has been running behind them. They've run well and the same thing was for Gerna Johnson, in this game thirteen carries for ninety five yards. But again, only had eleven rushing attempts in game two touchdowns. So He's scoring touchdowns and unsustainable rate I would say he is a low end rb one and I'm trying to get dearness Johnson team especially if I have Kareem Hunt. Okay, who are you dropping? Are you GONNA draw? Would you rather add Justin Jackson or dearness Johnson? Johnson Johnson. It's interesting because because. Johnson has basically zero chance of overtaking Kareem Hunt. Josh Kelley has not played well, he has fumbled two straight games. He had he this fumble was a necessarily his father was a bad exchange between him and Herbert but give them half the blame maybe Jackson's veteran Jackson had been hurt. I would say, Jackson I just don't know what you're going to get from dearness Johnson. Because I think it's you've seen Jackson be okay. We have we have getting more than that but well, we've never seen him be a starting running back though is he's always had either Gordon or editor around separate one game against the chiefs I think two years ago he scored a touchdown but didn't play that well I don't know like you know the point you make about the injury for Kareem Hunt. Maybe we shouldn't take the the possibility of him being a workhorse close to every down back off the table if he is healthy next week. We shouldn't, but we know Cleveland's GONNA run the ball a ton, and they're going to continue there on the wall whether it's Johnson or hunt, and we also don't know echols injury status. We don't know if it's he could be all right this week. Several ever well, the report was several weeks anyway..

"Share you even more my question for years. How much do you like Allen Lazard who had been a borderline drafted player, but now his rule, the unquestioned number two receiver in Green. Bay, with Aaron Rodgers was your season. I thought he's gotTa be draft. He'd been dry say is borderline because he wasn't picked everywhere. I'll tell you this right now Allen Lazard. he was picked everywhere fourteen seven as wide receiver, sixty, two there you So it's. Up to the twelfth as the question has gone as early as the twelve eleven since this news came out. So he has gotten up there I. Don't know how you feel about that. I am I am not very excited about any packers receiver not named Davante Adams. I guess I I have some interesting lazard. I don't think this is anything I agree then the rest of those guys, you know Kumo Table Reggie Bangel Tin. Menia Samper lateral. You know like Yeah Forget. For me I just look at this as a low volume passing offense The packers really have put a a premium on tight ends with the GRAS and the jury Sternford the previous year they of loaded up on running backs I question how much how many targets out there for receivers that are not Davante Adams and for me I look at other guys that are going after Allen. LAZARD Dave. Even after this Michael Pittman to me is more interesting than hit-men Lazar harder was Oliver Renfro. Okay. Onto the rental, I would rather have been lazar parallels are rental common rather have been lazard I'll circles are we take residing the aim of COBB? COBB is dog shit. He's been talking shift for five years straight now the styles of what? I think Almaz Act. I don't like them at all. I guess not our Lozada Stevenson's. Rose Art. Larry's interesting. I don't know maybe Almaz I had strobe Lazar resided Rendell mims was resided Mohammed Civil Caffeine saying the same of Hebron. Gone. Go the other way. Now I'm GonNa go the other way reside. Brand pick. that's not S it's I'll take aker resided. RESHAD caraman. Who that's with the permanent Menzer suffered that much God it's like throw out some I'll take param. LAZARD or Nikiel Harry. Close. To Harry I think has most cyber was either you like Watkins over Lazar Yeah Walk Me to reside over irks me Lozad Org Justin Jefferson. Those are I. I actually agree now one lazard or Curtis Samuel was our. Resided to Sean Jackson. Dj I'M GONNA take GD Jackson's while trying to with that Samuel one you said lazard. yeah quiet senior the I duNno, you probably don't follow as much as I do sit Sam seems to be mentioned every trade rumor right now roy make s like he potentially the packers by the way of after the funniest thing I'm GonNa lean towards the desired I just your but I I I a couple other shows here on local radio northeast Wisconsin my co-host for both of those shows he is a big time. Allen Lazard Fan and he thinks That there's really something again, I just look at it from the stance standpoint of He's not very fast. He doesn't particularly one great routes. He's not a pedigree guy to me the one thing that he did well, two things that he does well, one Rogers likes him at which is huge and two and rodgers threw him last year he actually did make a handful a pretty good place. So I guess there's something for that I'm I'm just I'm tempering my enthusiasm. You into our state right I was he put up big time numbers that I was state. I think he's actually got some talent I really do. I'll say this for lazard he's going in the fourteenth round. He's probably going to be getting into the eleventh or twelfth frown. There are a lot worse ways that you can spend eleventh or twelfth round pick than Allen lazard right now 'cause you're thirty five catches for four hundred, seventy, seven yards and three touchdowns last year now, and it is they all sees the whole season I can season in the NFL and how many games do you play? He didn't I mean I'm looking on how can I just remember him being or thirteen he? by and. Started three though town. Yeah and I don't think he was a thing until member Davante Adams had that injury that knocked him out from four games. and. That's when Lazar Guy called up and actually started making place. You Know Unlike Jake Cooil with packers coaching staff Air Rogers says is so great. The singers praises all the time and then he doesn't get a new targets or any action was art actually gets out on the field and gets targets the first five weeks he had no catches so he had like almost no playing time. Snap count was, but it was obviously actually snapped how. Did Not. Yet fourteen snaps in week four and zero zero we wan one we you know. So I almost non in the first five weeks really. Rent even. This is interesting in week six he had only seventeen snaps, but he caught four catches for sixty five yards and a touchdown. and. Then after that, his sniffs were still pretty limited for nine, v Forty Five, twenty, five, thirty he's GonNa part time player actually that's pretty interesting. I would say Arizona Sixty. Percents snap count tells if he plays like eighty nine percent of snaps not you should as the number two receiver wherein Eire's Arkan Yeah you know that's that's interesting. All right. So many I'll I'll have to reevaluate might my thoughts and Allen Lazard?.

"Feed presented by burly chords three locations in northern Kentucky barley corns get over here quick thought on video gate I I think that's all I have the the strength for it and then I want you to hear something Dave Lapham said last night the progress more calls one I I ask this earlier I wonder how many people actually care about the patriots in the video gate that would be my first question second question or or thought it would seem this could be cleared up if they simply showed us the video three why were they at that game considering I if if the if you're trying to mount a defense for the patriots of all games they were at the Browns Bengals game and the Bengals other next opponent which certainly seems fishy does it not why in there was a an advance scout their credential no big deal there was a videographer there allegedly doing this feature why war according to poll the jury of the athletic why was the video why did it include eight minutes of the bangles sidelines and the other thing I I don't get somebody have to explain to me in this is only because I I worked in TV if the videographer is in the press box in the scout is sitting in the first row who in their right mind below it why would you think anyone's gonna believe you were shooting footage or B. roll through the press box glass down on the field if you were shooting video for your future he would be shooting it through the press box window down on that you go down onto the field I mean nobody it just like taking a picture it I mean what what I stand here and take a picture through the window or when I go outside and take a picture of what I wanted outside so it made it makes no sense whatsoever that all wheel you're shooting video for the documentary what through the press box window down on it it is is stop four or five I've lost track I I think it's fair to say the patriots lost any benefit of the doubt long long long ago the two it would be fair to wonder why a team like the patriots needs to do this for a one in twelve Bengals team I I I get that six it takes a rather large pair a brass pair to try something like this if you're if you're really I just I I that's that's almost what makes it impossible to think they could really have done what they've done been penalized like they've been penalized in yet been soul just blatantly error again well the we're going to do it again we're going to do it this way quick they in point number seven conclusion they must be really bad it cheating if they've gotten caught again I just I I don't I don't know I just did the whole thing just confuses me like really seriously but it is the report from the American pollinator junior eight minutes of sideline footage let's not kid ourselves that's not in TV terms of B. roll that's not like side video to use during your documentary drop in for and it said and background final point of the bangles no this one will be specific on the bangles Dave Lapham last night Bengals line we we do it from Paul Brown stadium and I thought this was very revealing I want you to take a listen at the description and the level of excitement in describing Dave Lapham what he saw Sunday before the game what he watched AJ green work out in my mind though the biggest plus of the weekend I watched AJ green work out at ten fifteen up there all my god he looked unbelievable I mean he was quick explosive get in our cuts on like wow because I thought you know grass field may be I think he really let it but it hang out because was grass field and he got into the rhythm I was I was close to Bob now I look to Bobby notices to late to activate him just for to play I mean he looked on leave a bowl so hopefully he didn't every you know the effects from it hopefully does get the swelling today in my mind if he doesn't play against the patriots eighty degrees on grass in Miami I I could see AJ green plan in that football game potentially but less to lose I mean that was the best receiver performance ice all day watching that do work out a good he worked up a good thirty thirty five minutes the the explosiveness the suddenness the change of direction I mean the fluidity all of it was like a home my gosh man this is this is top shelf he ran you know a myriad a plethora of routes in in he he ran a mall well in his stop and start you know you come to a complete stop and then and then exploded to start is like all my gosh the hesitation stock I mean he was testing himself you know planning with both feet in our cuts you know running full speed choking it down to a stop exploding out of it it and I think right now AJ green is trying to come to a realization that his new hundred percent he'll never be our he'll never feel the same way with ankles you did before and there's an elite athlete that you've been your whole life every level you play you've been a leak physically and now to have a little glitch in the physical part of you that's a mental issue as much as a shirtless user and not of fear but like uncertainty issue it's like am I going to be okay can I do the things I used to do am I gonna re injure it I think he's dealing with that as much as anything I really do cool how good was that so so many things to one packet in that in the rest of it's on my blog at seven hundred W. L. W. dot com think of that what day just said in terms of how good he looked he's not practicing keep that in mind he's not practicing on to what what Dave said about AJ and the new one hundred percent or the new way of feeling getting used to it made immediately flashback to what joy bottom told me years ago after his knee surgery and he said I'm never going to be a hundred percent again he said once you're caught on things change you'll never be a hundred percent you you'll you'll feel better eventually after the surgery but you'll never be a hundred percent after your body's been cut off Hey there's no disputing that I'm so I I found it interesting Dave start of the the psychology OB trusting what he's feeling now adjusting to a different feeling now it has been today is day three hundred and seventy three cents AJ green last played in a football game day three seventy three it was December second of last year against the Broncos he had one catch for seven yards in fact if you go back to October of last year four hundred eight eight days over the last four hundred and eight days AG has that one catch for seven yards is he eat the the game against Tampa he played in that he missed a few games and he came back for the December second game he played seventeen snaps and that was it for the year so we said seventeen snaps in four hundred and eight days but what Dave said very encouraging about what he saw out of AJ agree would you not agree will be fascinating fascinating to see how this plays out but Larry in tadi Jimmy and Josh all have thoughts and contributions to make the show so let's get some of those on the go to Tennessee Josh you're on seven hundred WLW are you are you don't want them to call there and I was more there talk about them the rain yes moving to die young I I mean relax all season weather is M. L. B. trade rumors or thank you Sam players pal all the rage all over there's got to read their all over again to read the pushing hard for for this creates an eccentric sector what kind of saying the same thing play out this year and whether it's fair trade I hope you understand and and I think it would be after nine on on Williams order calls for his side were making all these purses and then nothing ever came out because surely sooner or later you know the reputation of being on the line I hope they understand that they're probably going to have to overpay to get people to come to Cincinnati and if they're not willing to do that the them I need my that will and it is far as trade you know it five hundred bring her in the minor leagues and to a lesser extent may be in here or Stevenson and that would be it would change one if they did want to pull off the curry yeah that's a that's a great point because the you just real off the the main suspects you've got hunter green the uncertainty of coming back from the injury you've got Jonathan India who's done nothing to dazzle so far in the minors you have Tyler Stephenson who if you're not going to make a move for a catcher each your catcher of the future at age twenty three they traded Joe side gray they traded died deter deter doubt I Jeter downs on they traded Taylor Jr mail they've got Tony say anti on but he hasn't dead certainly didn't dazzle last year so I would wonder how much currency they actually have to make a deal with minor league prospects I think that's a fair question well and not bring lance is and no one back given the opportunity I'm still thank the triton polite does with the right that was the right trade at the right time but look at how that crippled the talent in the minor leagues even even you know what eight years later that the red minor league I have not recovered from the hall that it took to get here well I'm gonna partly disagree they went to the playoffs twice and that's what people would kill to go to the playoffs twice now after trade like dad and if one trade decimated your system from six years ago then you're not drafting well enough that goes back to they don't buying of of them this organization not being able to direct going back you know decades yeah and that's why to their defense that's why they've changed a great deal of the front office discounting the drafting developing they've made say they've made more changes along those lines than any team in Major League Baseball in the last eighteen months and I hope it planned out for you and me both Hey Josh thanks buddy thank you all right good here from the more calls ahead we're rolling seven forty eight sports dot seven hundred WLW the.

"The desert for dealer sports desk Jim get off righty still rookie my goodness Skyler Marie all right I'm just using you as the foil I know ever all right here's the K. the best compliment you can pay karla Murray is halfway through the season we forgot he was a rookie now the last couple of games he's looked more like a rookie and so yes there are two weeks and need to be made yes and I think maybe trying to do too much and try to win it with every throwing and we just have to find that that happy medium again there you go as the head coach was pretty straightforward yesterday yeah everyone's got to get better including the rookie quarterback we'll see if that happens against the Browns who by the way should have lost to the bangles in their game over the weekend this is a should win game against Cleveland at home sun snapped a four game skid at all over a on the drive one in for example bill good Booker put up with the book at twenty six he led the way okay that was good but you know is better Ricky Rubio at fourteen assist see I just one turnover Aaron Baines was back and he was big time with that big frame and so the Suns beat the T. walls as they should one twenty five one own nine Monday Night Football eagles got booted home and they come back they rally they beat the giants in overtime twenty three seventeen snap a three game skid the eagles do first place coyotes they host the Calgary flames that'll be tonight on the west side D. backs they sent a right handed pitcher junior Garrus by the last four years with the brewers and get the reporter one year deal two point five million or so I thank there's money to Stephen Strasberg seven years two hundred forty five million for the World Series MVP it's just about thirty five million per year that is sports.

"Point future point coach we see what nor did the server yeah we're not gonna playoffs the show now I think he wants to play I don't think I know he does and so so right now we we continue to carry him and and just hopeful each and every week that it may be different and what will take from there Zack Taylor earlier today I find that minute forty five to be fascinating and questions answers tone of answers verbiage used we were talking about this before the show I I want to see this time line is correct it was four weeks ago to day because I I think it was a three I think was four weeks it was leading into the Baltimore game I I believe when he was that sequence where AJ it practiced on Monday the when's the walk through he was fine Zac sat down at the podium that afternoon and said it I expect him to play and then thirty minutes later practice started there was no AJ and Zach was not aware AJ was gonna practice until he looked in AJ wasn't out there that was for swelling that had developed from the walk through I and I I'm I'm not coming out against AJ I'm just curious of all this because I don't know how something like all systems were close to being go some swelling developed and now four weeks later without mentioning there was no set back there was no additional surgery exploratory reattachment of ligaments I just find it really are they slash fascinating we're still at this point of wondering about AJ greet you make a great point because usually there they would have said okay there's been a set back he twisted up in practice we gotta do this but there's been absolutely nothing to be eight you know usually list you re injury through with me that happened they don't want to tell us but for just a little bit of minor swelling kind of thing and music keep got another four which I don't know but that's somebody played Zack Taylor definitely appeared missed I think would be a little bit you know short answers I think he's wonder what's next for a little bit with his best player I man this is it he AJ last played October I think it was October twenty eighth of last year was against Denver yet seventeen snaps in that game so he is gone now this is thirteen months since he last played in a game played in a game yet now yet the surgery and it what that would have been what the end of July or start of August I just I would never a manager at the time of the surgery and I I I know it's what we're debating is why doctors and coaches hesitate to give you a time line because then when the injury doesn't fit in the time I'd have to answer why didn't but in that I remember the initial thought was made if he could be back for week three against the Steelers in that game that would be great for the yard work now are yours the way it ended twelve and he has a point in it like I mean there's a clearly let's be honest there's a lot at stake here for him it's his contract year he's up on me as a plate in that long he's got do you if you're the bangles and you are going to retain his services next year whether it's on a a franchise tag or a multi year deal of help protective or you will be you would understand AJ being protective of himself now you'd understand the bagel saying well there's five games left we running back out there if he gets hurt again we want him back next year does it do any good to bring it back yeah I mean you could I can run the scent of a whole bunch of different people and understand where they're becoming for agree I I just have to give AJ the Dow I but it is getting harder but I do have to because from his perspective you know being a former player if I was an issue to say wow you obviously I want to you know number one things I want to get that last big contract it right and maybe go to another team all these sort of things but I'm not play the game in thirteen months what realistic money am I am I really going to get I gotta get out there so with that rational I have to believe he's not a hundred percent he's these feel like he's not going to put a good product out there so what's the worst thing yeah not being out there being out there and and not playing good yeah nothing worse than I I will save all the scenarios the one I don't believe it and I've heard that from the very cynical who have said it all Andy's back a starter AG's gonna return this weekend I refused to believe I will give a double the benefit of the doubt to AJ green that he is bad air quotes here helping during this time because he's guy was bad he's magically get a re appear on Sunday because eighties back I refuse to believe I'm sorry I don't think you sit on because he was pouting but is Ceneri words like look I'm kinda like eighty five ninety percent I think I'd rather with Finley but book my guys out there I'm a you know through a little extra tape on and roll the dice is that yes if it were me I would want to be out there with family is there anything to and again this is you know you don't want to get in the stuff you don't know but is there anything to maybe he's I could just see a scenario where the bank will say look we want to sign your back and here's kind of what we're thinking is maybe is a slap in the face kind of thing in him is saying looking to roll out there for this role I don't we I again I has it I wonder though if he's aged has it been saying that to him repeatedly saying this money is nowhere near what you're worth there are it's saying under no circumstances are you going out there playing for this team with that a call the way it is with that contract are for the table this is it happened so maybe a little bit of everything going on right the ankle is maybe you could play of the scene was you had to win the game this weekend to go to the playoffs maybe he could play that sort of thing maybe the they're a little bit upset about the contract situation maybe it's like one hundred route there with a guy who's not thrown an NFL pass it yeah we I think we all agree on this when it's gone on this long all of these scenarios become part of the conversation no when we come back looks a little bit more about scenarios for what may happen if the bangles now with with a Andy Dalton over the final five games and you mentioned it to me this morning and it's worth getting into my goodness what the Baltimore Ravens in and Lamar Jackson holy cow it is your honor and I got some things I've seen because because I compared him coming out to Vince young right just with a lot of things I both seen and heard and I've seen some things is game that I can tell you why we'll do that as we continue he's rocky point of lance McAllister furniture fair round table show we're live at the stadium sports bar and grill at bell terra park it's presented every.

"Running to the left. he does not have it. we have a full yard. right. the Tennessee Titans with fantastic Mike well it's fantastic V. for I don't get them fourth down stop symbol yeah you know go back there and you see drill really just. excel right off the ball and really got some great surge can you did a great job of of come in there and get them in the back field and those are great you know those are tough to get and you know then you know they went with wildcat and I I just felt like at that point time if we you know could settle down and recognize it called time out they didn't go to wildcat next time again made a great call I try to burst into out of the backfield we kinda popped out of there and. he didn't have his first read which was to new going to the flat that thinking we're in man coverage and then you know kind of broke down and we and we got to him on the last one we kind of talked about with that with the tight coverage and you know everybody really doing their job defense this year is allowing opposing teams to convert just two of eight fourth downs. pretty good start giving up fifteen and a half points a game. pretty good. well the scoring defenses is critical and you know we we have to get back to where we were last year in the red zone we were down there with a lot of confidence in teams were struggling to score touchdowns if you could kind of just I thought we were going to get a stop the other day in and they scored one down there to the goal line and then no it was close but then no we we gotta get when we get when they get down there we got a really tight knot and not allow the score touchdowns and then that's critical to scoring defense is is gonna keep yeah in games. and we the field position yesterday I think we started on thirty three yard line they started on twenty two yard line correct twenty one to sixty. the average was the six within that that difference seventeen yards difference for average stark so again. that really tells the whole story about the team in the complementary football in the special teams would one the hidden yardage and special teams by forty forty yards. we're in that's obviously for first downs everybody understands that the. you're going to want a lot of games if you start on the thirty three and a start on the seventeen does it almost excite you that your defense is doing so many things right and yet you've just hit several areas where they can get better. yeah there's a lot of places where we can improve you know I think that. you know we played a complement of of coverages and I think that's really good because it gives the quarterbacks different looks and things to to see. but it also. there's some. by the way is I don't want to use that as a description but. some things rely Kay now in this coverage you know as we get further down into it. you know this is an adjustment or this is how we need to play a. this particular route. came to just play a few coverages they probably get through all those and yeah that's a philosophy that we have been been able to be multiple on and play different things to to give the quarterback different looks I think we can continue to improve on that you know an anti and everything together time the front end and. what pressures we run our when we run a so we're Sean Evans had a good game yeah. Jenn brown had a good game Wesley woodyard comes back in place seventeen snaps it has five tackles including a tackle for loss sure it was great fun and it's something that we've mentioned this about what what is that one is a phenomenal leader cares immensely about this team but we feel like we have three starters at that position and you know we have to keep guys fresh lot of snaps yesterday he rolled through any could play both those spots and allows for Shonda to get a break allows jammed it to get a breaking no we trust them which is they are very important to coaches that you trust the guys are going the game's Herald Landry had five tackles and two sacks of the stats say he played really well was the head coach pleased with their appliance all I think you get always played better and I think the he did some things that are that you know pretty well and I think there's some things that we can continue to improve on right in our final minute here as we talk time flies I know it's just so much fun. it in this time as we discuss buffalo what sorts of things do you have to work on this week to really be prepared to take on the bills on Sunday as just the physical physical team and we're gonna take care of the football it's the. that that really. Costas last year turn the football over. they they do a great job at it they bad a lot of passes down the line of scrimmage I think they lead the league in and batted passes at the line of scrimmage with eight. they're very good in scoring defense very good in the red zone scoring touchdowns on as an offense I think they probably score touchdowns seventy eight percent of the time so those will be critical factors in the game but you got to hold the stuff we do I'm at home and you're the harder we play and the better we play the a lot of our fans will cheer force remind Titans fans that tickets are still available Titans online dot com slash tickets that's Titans online dot com slash tickets kick off this Sunday and Nissan stadium set for noon central time we hope to see you there..
