Strategy Execution Results: Get in Gear Sean T. Ryan -
"Pretty good year here. It's just gotta clean. It's gotta to be whatever the case and it just works all the way through and and it's just find brilliant so let's just go right into right right right. I gear right. That's the first gear right right right here. Getting the right right. Let's what is what is right right right. What is that first gear. How does it connect to strategy. Let's talk about that real quick. Absolutely right right right is about having the right people in the right roles with the right capabilities and and so you know the the idea that you can have a strategy but without the right people it's going to be really hard to execute and if people don't have the right capabilities It's going to be hard to execute that strategy Or if you've got you have good people when We we knew we. We knew that we had this opportunity. We had just gotten into Refreshment putting the m you know in the plastic bottle water you know back in like nineteen ninety four ninety five and we could see that business taking off at that particular point in time coca cola and pepsi. Were not in the bottled water. Business business was just too small right but we also knew that there was a at the time with with our with our growth. We knew there was a point in time at which they were going to jump into the bottled water business and we also knew that we didn't actually have the talent to be able to compete against them effectively especially in in our leadership levels. And so you know right people in the right roles with the right capabilities. We knew we needed to go. Recruit different people who fit our strategy number one and number two who were gonna fit our values and our values around honesty integrity teamwork building respect The that were absolutely critical to us providing the leadership to our team that we were anticipated. We were going to need to have that five now. We we didn't know it was going to be five full growth over seven years at the time That that really just kind of happened but it happened because we did get. We did realize we needed a different capability of of leaders a previously. We had hired talent Pretty much off the street. Just technical-functional talent technical-functional talents important but leadership capabilities were hugely important. And so we had to really re gear and rethink. Who do we need to have on our team. How do we go find those people. And then how do we recruit and select them to be on the team to get the talent that we needed to be able to enable that success. Okay so something you say in this book right. Nobody exactly this way. But i'm gonna say you hire to the values. I mean you you hired to the values you'd because i think it's so easy to do in and by the way i appreciate. How much of a big fan. You are michael porter. Because i love competitive advantage and so i love that about you Just one thing. It's not the only thing. I i'd love several things about you but i think hiring values is something that we don't do very a at least in my experience. Coaching businesses is that. Sometimes we try. We're so focused in hiring this great talent that we're not hiring to our values of company in nor do we really know clearly what the values are our company and us us a pretty great questions here. You know what we stand for what we believe. In what are the broad boundaries. You want people to play within enable us to execute a strategy. I think those are really fundamental questions that every business needs to ask right up front. I agree a hundred percent in the way. I would describe it a little bit. Jay is i think there's always a gap in an organization between where you are and where you want to be in. We talked a lot about obviously strategy to houston results. We're talking about the business strategy. How do we position ourselves in the marketplace to be successful but to me. It's it's really kind of that strand of where do we need to be. And how do we need to get their. What's that business strategy. That gets us to that as wayne gretzky would have said you know. I don't skate where the puck is ice skate to where the puck is going to be. That's that's really. The essence of strategy is skating delaware. The puck going to be the. That's the business strategy. But i think there's an intertwined strands of dna with business strategy which we call the cultural strategy. What's what's the culture of the organization that we need to have is going to enable us to execute that business strategy and culture starts with the values. What are we. Stand the the questions that you've posed there. What are we stand for. What are we believe. In what are those widest parameters that. We want people to play within. What were those are values and you know there are some that are i think they should be they. They may not be but they should be almost universal honesty and integrity respect and by respect. I mean deep respect Not just respecting respecting people for who. They are for the diverse. You know background that they bring to the table respecting them as human beings in and trust and trustworthiness i think are universal but but then there's some that can be particular to an organization based upon their strategy. There there are some organizations that have to be absolutely cutting edge innovative right constantly thinking outside the box and then there may be other organizations where it's not about the most innovative you know cutting edge bleeding edge organization but you have to have incredible continuous improvement. We're getting a little bit better tomorrow. And then again day after it again the day after is the key to success will depending upon those those valley. What you need to be successful does drive some of the component of the values of the organization right right and then that drives who you need to look for. Do you need to look for people. Who reminds her. Just you know. They're buzzing all the time and they are the cutting edge bleeding edge creators ordinary people. Who have that continuous improvement mentality. And so the business strategy drives the cultural strategy which drives who you need to go find to help you execute that strategy again. You know you. i'm going to quote you again. You said Critical issues to be clear upfront. About what values. Your organization needs to support the execution of your strategy.

Of just telling me like about industry and how he got started. I told that i was thinking to doing bags. And he was like yeah. And i ran that for two decades. It was a super interesting ride. We saw all kinds of different growth happening particularly in the early two thousands when people started becoming more aware of veganism not just for diet but also for

Juan Sebastián Elcano Was Actually the First Person to Circumnavigate the Earth
"Ferdinand magellan is often credited with being the first person to circumnavigate the earth. However this isn't true. I don't mean this in the same way that columbus wasn't the first european in the americas because the vikings made it to newfoundland. I i mean magellan never circumnavigated the earth at all period. The magellan voyage did not set out travel around the world. The purpose of the mission was to find a western route to the spice islands. Or what we now call indonesia. They set out in fifteen nineteen only twenty seven years after columbus first landed in the bahamas in fourteen. Ninety two the magellan voyage really just set out to achieve with the columbus expedition tried to to reach asia by sailing west. The difference was that this time they knew there was a gigantic landmass in between europe and asia. And this time they were gonna go around it. Magellan was portuguese so many people assume that his expedition was sponsored by portugal. But that wasn't the case. It was actually a spanish expedition sponsored by king charles. The first the spanish wanted the western route because portugal had a monopoly on the eastern route around africa in through the indian ocean. The expedition consisted of five ships with supplies. Last two full years the total crew consisted of two hundred and seventy minute at the start mostly spanish but with crew from many different countries. The expedition took a major toll. The first ship was lost in fifteen twenty in a storm in argentina. The second ship was abandoned in what is now called the straits of magellan. Several months later the third ship was scuttled in the philippines and may fifteen twenty one because of lack of crew and the fourth was lost in indonesia in december on april twenty seven. Fifteen twenty one. Magellan himself was killed in the philippines by the natives of the island where they landed. He was surrounded and killed with spears. This left the expedition. In a quandary. Its leader was dead. Over half the crew were dead and they were on the other side of the world. They sailed around without any purpose for about six months. And eventually the crew selected one wants fashion elcano a spaniard to be the captain of the last remaining in smaller ships of the fleet. The victoria they decided to return home via the western route and september. Six fifteen twenty two. The ship arrived back in spain at the same port. They left almost three years
When School Nutrition Education Is Based on Toxic Diet Culture
"I'm encountering disturbing practices at my children's school. My seven year old came home and didn't want to enjoy her glass of chocolate milk. Because it quote unquote has too many calories. She said after she read the nutrition label. It turns out the first grade. Teacher is teaching them how to read nutrition labels and not to consume things. If there's too many calories. I'm completely appalled and angry about this. Especially since my kindergartners. In the same school i went through a debilitating eating disorder. Myself am now thoroughly anti diet and seeing dieting in diet culture for what it is. My question is how do i approach this with the school. I'm sure they think this is okay and quote unquote healthy. But they're really just damaging young minds who should be focused on coloring pictures and not reading nutrition labels before every meal. We're teaching them. How wrong this is at home. But teachers have a huge influence. So i feel. I need to contact the school and try to stop it. Thank you for your time if you get a chance to read this. So thank c. k. For that great question. And oh so many thoughts on this but before. I answer just my standard disclaimer. That these answers and this podcast in general are for information on educational purposes. Only an artist substitute for individual medical or mental health advice. So first of all my heart really goes out to you for having to deal with us. I know how hard it is on parents. Trying to raise anti diet. Kids win our whole culture. Everything that's around them and surrounds us is diet culture and especially having your own eating disorder history. I know how visceral your sense of anger and frustration with this probably is so i would definitely contact the school and talk with these teachers about the issues with this. The issues with teaching kids about calorie counting and reading nutrition labels. And i think your intuition is spot on that. It really is important to contact the school and talk to them about this. So these t shirts probably think they're doing the right thing and they live in diet culture. So i'm sure they believe that calorie counting is good and is going to help these kids quote unquote stay healthy right. So it's important that you share with them that this actually has really negative unintended consequences that they weren't aware of because i think they want to do good. You know everyone for the most part has good intentions especially educators and so just alerting them to the fact that this is actually really problematic. Might be helpful.
Bill, Melinda Gates' split after 27 years of marriage
"Final topic is that one of the people. I follow on twitter posted quote after a great deal of thought a lot of work on our relationship. We have made the decision to end our marriage over the last twenty seven years. We have raged three incredible children and built foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy productive lives. We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation. But we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives melinda gates and bill gates and had a a reaction or to wonder about you brian. How did you what what went through your mind when you heard the news. The only point of comparison. I can really think of with. This is two thousand. Nineteen when jeff bezos split from his. Wife mackenzie scott and she immediately started donating to a number of different Philanthropic causes but that couple when they split really didn't have the philanthropic reach that bill and melinda gates do clearly so i think melinda gates from what i understand of that foundation really does get involved with decisions. That are involved. That happened there. And i get the feeling that if she wants to make any changes to what this foundation does. It's going to involve a lot of time in planning but i really think this is one of those stories where it is. Certainly something personal. I'm sorry that it happened. But i also look at this as something that really could affect a lot of things when i think about philanthropy when i think about public policy and how that's by these dollars that's coming in this is potentially something really big. We're talking about here.

Screens: Are They Ruining Our Brains, Mental Health and Eyes?
"So people pretty worried about screens taking over our lives. And there's been a lot of hand-wringing recently. About what screen. Time is doing to the keats. Some say it's ruining their attention span. Language skills might even messing with their ability to read. So how do we need to be here. And what's the right amount of screen time before it's time for the little ones to switch off to find out. We called up brennan a desk. She's an assistant professor of psychology at pace university and brennan studies. How kids interact with these nasty beasts screens. Yes screen and brennan doesn't just steady this. She lives it. She's got a seven year old son and they've been pandemic together. I'm living the situation now. At home i have a child at home. Who's doing school. And if i need to get some work done and he's done with school is it. Is he gonna spend more time on a screen. Maybe and yeah brennan says it can feel kinda to watch a kid getting sucked in by screen but is it really that bad. The best worry we're going to tackle is whether these screens are screwing up. Kids attention spans. Making it harder for them to concentrate. 'cause looking at what's sunscreens these days brennan's like it kinda makes sense that they wouldn't be great for focus a screen. You know you go on a screen. You can watch whatever you want. You know when you want it and you can switch between all kinds of things you could go on tired of the show. I'm gonna play an app. They're looking for that next. Hit

I think we couldn't have been more than two or three months in. Moment number seven was when Chris Campfire busted into the studio. Gosh, that was a good one to tell us that we jumping up and down that we hit number one in the ratings. Just three months in I think maybe even less than that could've been quicker than that, but the the show had Ben seventh-place eight plays whatever it was, and then we started and very quickly. We're able to take the show to number one in the ratings and he like cut garage chance. So excited. I would just like a regular show and I. Remember in the middle of I was like yeah. I was in the control room at that point and I could feel like the. Something was like an unusual. Either here sealing jamming out on the guitar or Sean with vocal warm ups when I looked up, Mike Ken Myers jumping. He looks excited. What's happening callback? And then we did the impossible good God. Yeah, number one. That was a great one. What's number seven for us to bring another seven, and if you could turn my hang up? Go ahead. Number Seven And really they have no. Ranking was supposed to do a top seven Lisburn. Things I didn't mind either. Down and I have sub categories. But I will start with. The first thing that comes to mind because we talked to him recently I. Love Moses Dewitt He has been here since day one as dealt with the very last minute I mean by the hour and or minute calls to be like hey, can. Sponsors and this real quick. But on top of it the took us under wing as friends who went to hope town with him. Last he's a good person. And I appreciate the friendship that has come out of it. For him being part of the show and the success of this ship, how about UCLA number seven I mean I guess if I have to rank them I could push this one down to the bottom because this is sort of A. Is Not going to sound like one of the best moments, but I think for me just fascinating. I was a big fan in highschool of Pablo Francisco. And I was like where we landed him for the interview I was like Oh. That's super cool, a big fan of him and he's a big fan of cocaine. Allegedly allegedly how that works and Then! As I grew up I. Still you know. He was coming to town and it's thinking. Oh, man, how cool would it be to tell highschool me that you're going to be on the radio? Interviewing that Guy Window world and Dan. We talked to him and his seven different. In one minute absolutely out of control and that's one best of that. I've never ever played. Number six for me was the battle with bill cosby that was so surreal that whole thing. Yeah, when Bill Cosby was starting to gain heat, and we kind of picked a fight with them and became a big news story radio station in Florida offers one thousand dollars for a protester. Comedy show and and Bill Cosby did an interview beforehand where they asked him about it, and he called us. They're just a bunch of Frat Bros over. There is opening monologue at the center. Oh, you did then, too, but they did. There was an interview with him before where he was like that that station that that show. It's just a bunch of Frat Bros.. So that has been the name of our group text ever since that moment. I thought that was pretty cool. It's your number. Six Supreme I would have to say Jasmine try devil and the entire debacle of that. The beginning of where we were, but think given a reddit post, or maybe the youtube video in which it was started with Chris Angel Session with it but then she comes out with the announcement that she has gotten the surgery done in which three boobs had been implanted. We get her on the air. Time passes you to get into fight via social media Moran. You put her phone number up her phone number up You guys fight back and forth you started receiving a lot of penis picture I got a lot of dawn photos because how you shaped it on social media is like this tried levels number. have she shaped like I got a new number. Tell all my kinky daddy's out there. Send me their depicts, and there was fast forward even more convinced to go to just okay if she could slap. Slap you three times. Video recently found still available already, but not say for radio, and then I saw her at a kink.

"Always. When you have something like we're dealing with with covert nineteen and Florida and the numbers are Isaac Saint Her feast now I find it funny when they feel like a little kid when they take away something that you can. Do you feel like all right? You can't behave out. There aren't so quickly. It's not like when we were little. Kids like if do that again. We're going to take this away. It's like what did I do. Is it gone? Final warning, there should have been a final. I'm serious this time, but instead okay. Maybe it was like we're in class. And instead of getting the warning you saw that timmy was getting in trouble eating too many marshmallows of before the teacher finds out or now shoving marshmallow. Matter! If there's going to be no more alcohol in the state of Florida. WE'VE BEEN Covering that obviously that's an issue that people are facing the numbers. Skyrocketing or shattering records is every news organization is saying and you've got a ton of people taking tests, so keep that in mind. We had some records for test taking and we're GONNA. Continue to see that these people are all in their twenties or thirties or forties, and we'll get to your dispatches, commenting on all of this just a moment, but another big story of the week was about NASCAR driver. Driver bubba Wallace Sand. All of a sudden there was before a race a new story. Nascar said they were investigating. The Fed feds the FBI I think we're investigating central's of fifteen people out there to look into this. And it was all because somebody had left a noose in bubble. Wallace's garage whereas Nascar car was held, and then they did this investigation. They said Nope it had been there for. For a while and Blah Blah Blah. Blah Blah. We learned that this wasn't a targeted thing. Aimed at bubble, Wallace and people are still debating this one thing that Nascar did where I was like what the Hell Nascar released one photo of this news, and they went right next to the news in the garage and took a photo and made it look like this big thing, but if you look. Look at it from any other angle if it's not as large or didn't look as menacing as it did in this photo that they had used at Nascar leaked. Dow because now I've seen video and photo this thing from about every angle. You could imagine that's because I don't think it's an existence anymore. No, not now grabbed like an employee was like Oh i. do have a picture of it. That was in the background or take a picture of the race car just finished building I think. Nascar took like took a snapshot is. The investigation have way more photos than that. Why would have video I think they would have all kinds of stuff, but spiracy sure they did. That's that's another point, too. You know why this was there and what was behind? Regardless. We've got to the end of that story. Thinks. It's very clear to me that that wasn't targeted. At bubba Wallace though he has plenty of other issues being the only black nascar driver where things are targeted on him, people are terrible but the the owner of a speedway, a race track in. Whereas of North Carolina decided to weigh in on all of this good timing for him. Okay, he said, let me jump in on this, and he offered up a bubble rope on US book. Market Place. This has some twists and turns in it here. Here's what this person posted and this guy is a pretty terrible. The individual who owns this three one one speedway in Stokes county. He's too because no one's going there anymore. I don't know maybe if he's got his his crew. That doesn't care and they're all racist about this. I don't know but he. He tried to run for county commissioner and failed this guy posts. Things like white lives matter on his facebook. He's one of those types and he posted up on facebook. Full P- is Mike Foale also advertise the heritage night encouraging fans to by confederate flag. Man and he said don't forget your Second Amendment right a doing all of this after this controversy and I said a rope Rei. What's he doing this then I found out something very unfortunate. It's. Unfortunate on what he's done his whole thing aside. I found something else unfortunate. You've mentioned before, see lane you. There's a couple of other Chris lanes out there country singer. You've been a little worried. What happens if the Chris Lane does something bad. It would be like if your name was. What's jared from subways last name Fogel if your if your name is jared Fogel and all of a sudden, Jared Vogel from subways creep Zoya touching kids and stuff like dammit, you've ruined my name, and then there's the Justin. Bieber in Jacksonville. That has a hard time getting his on facebook page. Like somebody can ruin your name for you, even Michael Bolton, but in this case my faulty can't sing. There was a company office nope. Yeah Office space in that case. There was a company that had a real product called the bubble rope before all of this, and now you're like damn it man screws everything up. Here's here's one of the commercials. If you play. Work off road. Novica -Tuation all too well. You Rig stuck in the mud and you're going nowhere fan. Yeah adequately. You'll be left spinning your wheels. We have bubble rope. And a buddy. You'll be back on the trail fast. BUBBA rope sets a new standard and vehicle recovery with it's amazing. sportspeople transfers into Connecticut energy bottom line, but a row get your vehicle unstuck and moving fast I can only imagine it. bubba rope, H., Q. Like son of a bitch. We have spent so much on branding and commercials, yeah! In probably would not have been a sudden that harshly of a son of a bitch moment. This? Whole, not done what he did. Yeah, this guy definitely made it. Yeah, his his thing says by your bubble today. Only nine, ninety nine each they come with a lifetime warranty and a work great Part of me, I mean I would never buy this that would be. Bad Look advantage the lifetime. Call, Mike Foale. Lifetime warranty that you've seen other products went in which you at one point, find yourself needing to take advantage of that, and it's nearly impossible. It's like Oh, you were supposed to send this postcard here with to. This pillbox doesn't exist anymore and there's zero. Internet access or websites for you go back to like. For you? What he did that. Did you ever see that episode? Nathan for you did a deal where they had gas for like really. Go to the mountain and so. They like they had to claim a rebate on this gas and to get the rebate, they had to hike for two days up a mountain and they had like. Adding stuff I mean it's a great show I have not watched as. The legs debate the GO-TO. Try to get this I'm sure it works that way. We the full advantage of like not much notoriety to get the bits that he did and then I mean obviously that comes to an end real quick when everyone else we look like. I think he's still working on, but now everything's screwed up because Cova stop well that the person the last story with the bubble up. They tried to run for office. They failed miserably. There's another gentleman who's running for office. Michigan House of Representatives candidates. He's getting a lot of attention. He's trying to run for the seventy third district seat that is open to represent northern Kent County in the Michigan State House and he's got some people who are trying to take down his campaign. "It's always nice throughout these cold winter weeks getting getting, you know, having a long day, and you get a nice nice Email from one of the pecker heads. Let's see I guess these emails would have started rolling around. Six or seven. Let's see. Someone wrote about Amini heat and greet. And we'll get to that a Royal rumble heat and greet. Don't know if that's going to happen. Hey, peter. I'm sorry. I hate to cut the line for male. But I can I ask the question for. Of course, I didn't know, Greg. I wasn't sure if you were excited or offended. Of our here. I'm gonna hit the job. Anyway, here you. Mail. Okay. Go ahead carry. Okay. So I've been paying attention to the whole Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey thing and the chatter about them possibly being the is it the first female headliner for Russell mania that could be a possibility. What are you guys think about that? Is that a possibility? And would you be here for it? Well, first of all, which of you guys is playing with Legos as we speak. None of us come on with. What was that sound? I don't know. I don't know what you wanna use lying. Don't cover it up something out flipping pages. But I don't know how that was let me let me or the page again. No that you're that little jingling. I do hear that jingling jingling, Greg. Greg you wearing are you wearing some something iced out. No, no, not yet that. That this imposs- it's paper. It's paper. I think I think he's Istat if some of it's happening or you're playing with Legos like the seven year old. You know, what I do think it's a possibility particularly this year when I don't know where they go. Honestly, at this very moment is very early. You know, we're not even in January yet, it's not even twenty nineteen. But right now at this early juncture as we start to as we get to starting to think about the wrestlemainia card. I. I would lean towards it being likely that Ronda Rousey and her opponent, whether it be Charlotte or Becky main events wrestlemainia, it's a great year to do it. They did Evelyn this year. I we know that they wanna bring back evolution or women's pay per view next year. And frankly, I don't know what the big men's match is. So I think it's possible and likely G. Yeah. No, I agree. One hundred percent at its both possible and likely. Especially because let's face it. Becky Lynch is on fire right now. And Ronda Rousey is is Ronda Rousey, she's going to get a marquee match. At wrestlemainia. So if they put the two of those two together that would certainly justify them being in the main event because like you said Piazzi any men's match that deserves the spot. I don't see how they build to a man's matched. That would deserve to close the show the good good question there Chiron, and I think it's definitely possible. Jomar says right to be an Email called DMV life. If you could only keep.

"Listen to that in the car with the kids. I'm sorry about that. And the last thing I'll tell you about the case show, you guys if you're listening right now, and you listen to podcasts every week, and you really do want contact. You're not that into sports the case show, which there's there's an you can listen live on the PIN app or the podcast or if you Tony here. My segment it's called Aeon. There's an e n podcasts you just get my thirty segment thirty thirty minutes segment that I do every night where I do news sports stories that they react to you'd really like the show them. So if you just love this show you'd really enjoy it. But this is one of my favorite sounds ever. It's it's what a caller said this caller made this whole point. I don't even remember what it was about. And then Don responded in a way, where he just like proved a point instantly and the guy had no reply. And so this is now the sound I play whenever someone just get stumped. Because it's just so definitively the sound of someone who just got proven wrong every well. Well, hey, well, hey. You say, well, hey, it just means, you know, way. But you had said that blah, blah, blah. No, no I've tape on the tape. I said, blah, blah, blah. Hey, well, hey, all right. That's enough. Taking stroll down Mike, okay? Show drops. Daniel, bryan. AJ styles for the WD championship. I don't think it's time yet for the new Daniel Brynner's, I just call him Brian. I don't think it's time yet for him to be done. Not by a long shot. So by Hooker by crook. Daniel, Bryan retains. I don't think it's time either. But I'm going to go with AJ styles. Wow. Shocking. Yeah. I mean, listen. Glenn Daniel, Bryan won the championship. He reminded me of that age old saying anything can happen in the WWE, which is really just like them saying expect the unexpected. And so. I'm going to remind myself of that as we head into this match that anything can happen. And even though we expect any O'Brien or the new Daniel Bryan to. Continue. Down this path. I'm going to expect the unexpected and go with AJ styles. While not what I would've expected..

I pulled up the page and the the shame laurels page on pro fight DB going back to. March. So since they since they came to smackdown. It looks like every match that they've had of the tag team. Except for one has involved either the new day except for two excuse me has involved either the new day or the use. Sauce. Oh my gosh. Well, at least at least the bar came dressed as run DMC. But you know, what though this is not we have most of the same and says, and it's full black power ranking purposes, I'm gonna go new day because you determine them to be blacker. Well, we yeah. We need a good week while they actually are African American. They are black African American it. Okay. Not pacific. Islanders undis-. Yeah. Okay. Got it. I just wanna I'm just keeping track here of how you. I mean, some are not black that isn't it up to anyone's determination. The rock is rock is. But. Very very very challenging. All right. Let's get to the meat of this car. Does she let's get to what we're actually here to talk about. We spent a whole damn show. We already have to wrap this thing up in like twenty minutes, and we haven't even gotten to the meat and potatoes of this dam card. Will we get in here? We're getting there. I'm waiting before we get there though. We have to address bronze storm in versus baron Corbin. Okay. A match a match that Barron Corbin is planning to win by forfeit. Yes. Although keep Slater plays a role in this match. I forgot to mention I do like you Slater's referee. I hope he remains a referee. Same especially this conflicted referee that he's playing. Yeah. I'm into the idea of people, you know, being referee. I think that's fun. Not all the time. But you know, him being a referee could be even if you just goes on to become an actress regular sorta referee. I. Cool. I don't know. I gotta tell you. I haven't spent a ton of time thinking about what happens between baron, Corbin and. Braun strowman. What's your what's your take? Yeah. I'm gonna go Bron. We're not expecting him to show up which is exactly why he should probably show up. I mean has to rent. Yeah. I think so. Songo braun. And you think he ends up winning? I do because it's brought like he wouldn't be the monster feet in power through despite injuries. And then what? But then you don't think Barron goes onto become the actual fulltime GM of raw. No. I don't. Although. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe Alexa, bliss gets named GM of raw since we don't seem to know. What the hell's going on with her? Maybe. And that could be a roundabout way of handling it to like she gets named GM raw, and then she grants power over the men's division, which he had already. But now, she's the GO. Gracia we worry about how many sirens we hear when you're doing the show. Nope. Because they're not coming to me when they when they stop here, then we worry as long as pass by kyri how many sirens do here per week from Greg..

"So yeah, he has that one at least. So the I'll go rail so though that was really really appropriate to actually what what is the Ambrose. Look like always looked like he just stopped at Burlington coat factory. He probably did the Molin great Coates to he has probably got some nice boots out of the two. Yes. G G. Lana the week that was made home. I god. All right. What's next, Greg, buddy? Murphy versus vendor whose weight championship match. I don't I don't know. Whether they'll have a great match, and I'll go buddy Murphy to keep I'm gonna go Cedric to regain. All right. He had a great run as champion. Why not why not send it back shoulder and get himself on the black power ranking? Yeah. Of course, why did that would do it? One hundred percent. Oh my goodness. Italia. Versace, ruby riot. Match ruby riot. Messed up because she's invoking. Nazi's late father, Jim the envelope high heart, and it's messed up. But ultimately, I think the reason the story makes sense to me, and that you know, that they're in a big the fact they have a rivalry based around smashing a pair of glasses. I think that has everything to do with this being an opportunity for ruby riots at get you know, to get hers. So I'm gonna ruby. Yeah. I don't wanna see it. I don't wanna see natty go through. A table with Jimmy Hart's. I know me neither. I really don't. I don't wanna see it. But I think that's exactly how it's going to go down especially because the riot squad is right there to like. Who does that he have to toback her up? Rhonda's preoccupied. I'll tell you. I'll tell you. What though I think Jimmy Evelyn her would be pretty pretty happy to be involved in the storyline. Oh, yeah. Like, that's what makes me think that it's going to happen. So even though I don't wanna see it as 'cause like, that's that's nat- ease pedigree. That's what she comes from. You know, like these professionals who? Try to get everything. And like, you know, what I mean, everything can be an angle and get the people worked up so. I don't know. Yeah. I'll go ruby to though, what's an excess energy Elias versus Bobby Lashley. A ladder match. I'm going to lie because I've said this many times if you like wins ally it's going to start getting some wins. I mean, I think we would both agree that the bigger trajectory here moving forward is alliance. Correct. Yeah. Yeah. So what's the point? I mean, Bobby Lashley now is a is a he'll cheater with Leo doesn't really matter. If he loses, you know, you're just trying to get him heat anyway. And I feel like allies that all these matches that he so rarely wins. And he has the chance to be so big like, I always say if he's not going to be Bobby Lashley, some you know, when's he gonna win? I like Elias here. Yeah. I'm gonna go Bobby Lashley. And you just said why because he has he has Leo rush with him and he factor. Yeah. And I do see we all rush getting blasted with the guitar not. Maybe not Bobby Lashley. But definitely Leo rush. Leo rush in his match the other day against allies literally without a shirt on Leo rush. Looks like a seven year old. This is true. This is true, buddy. Won the match though, he won that he found because the odds in his favor. His nickname should be the seven year old just like, my nickname is Gervais. Seventy year old piece ago. "I think that's the way to go. I think that is the way to go. Although before we do that, though, the one thing I have to touch on which I probably we won't get a chance to wit. The preview is the Daniel Bryan. We'll stop Ali match which. Man. Is Mustafa Ali not probably one of the most underrated wrestlers right now because he'd had you talked about in people's match of the year like best wrestler conversations right now. But he's he's killing right now. It's hard for the cruiserweights. You know, it's it's hard for them to get their proper do especially because there's always only a couple at a time. So, you know, if you have buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander, for example, getting all the pay per view matches. You might end up without. Another person or another two people in the and and there's a lot of really townspeople there. But yeah, that was an awesome match really fun. One of the great things about Daniel, Bryan. But we'll get Daniel Bryan more in a few minutes, but you're capable of using him in so many ways are so let's not waste any time. Let's breakdown TLC s g g we can have some nonsensical Repub predictions, not a winner. And we'd love to hear from you on Twitter Twitter just getting on Twitter. So she hit me with it. And don't get me wrong. We will get to mailbag shortly Rosenberg beats at gmaiLcom. So let's get this one out the way, let's take dance break early the mix match challenge finals fabulous truth versus Molly Shah. Did you expect any of these two teams to be in the finals? Wow. That is. I guess fabulous truth. Once you saw that those starting to work for them on some level is like a fun tag team. I guess in that sense. It's not shocking. You know, what I'm saying because they're over in some way. So why not like the point of the mix match is give people a little extra. And if you have one man woman combination. That happened to be getting over right now. One of the shows should we be surprised that that who that's who's probably gonna win the whole thing. That's true. Emma. Lisa is more crazy, especially as a nickname alone. I didn't even I that's insanity. Weirdly, well, the prize is what like a vacation or something like that. Yeah. But isn't it also the last spot in the rumble? Oh, yeah. It is. That's so crazy. That's. Expense challenge. It has to be a show, right? No, no, it could be a goofy spot. The. It's not like, I think gender Mahal is gonna play a big part in the rumble either. Well, this is why I went that way because gender Mahal while we're spending a lot of time on this. Can you believe is a former WWE champion? I see. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. But Carmelo is the former WWE women's champion and more recently and more likely to and more likely to end up in the picture again, I think than gender mall. You remember how excited I was when gender Muhammad's champion so happy same. I mean, we I made at least on this show. We all we all were. Apparently of TV family. Apparently, Vince,.

We we don't have enough patrons to go out on our own right now. But. Somebody brings in anyway. Hi, Brandon recently. I had the fortune of visiting France crossing beautiful. Southern French towns and villages among them was the was the town of Lourdes, which you might recall as very famous locality of where the Catholic church managed to spring of crystal clear water rising from grotto where young girl Bernadette sue Bruce in eighteen Fifty-eight witnessed an apparition of the Virgin Mary. This episode was thought to eventually lead to magical medical cures for all who visit the area being an atheist and skeptic. I thought I might have a go at asking for a permanent cure for my very old and painful football related knee injury. As always I'm prepared to admit, a re admit to a rethink about these things should the Virgin Mary make an appearance. Well, it didn't happen. Oh, no. I was hoping for your knee. Yeah. I mean, you'd have to join a church at that point. But I was let's see really sincere. Mary says, no. Anyway, he goes on I came from Lord terribly saddened as I witnessed hundreds of profoundly, disabled and ill people of all ages, so many in wheelchairs on mobile cots. Other others were the walking wounded waiting in turn to visit the magical H two. Wow. I felt an overwhelming sorrow for those poor people those poor ill and disabled people this probably being their last and only dream of cure for some the experience may have been of some advantage that I don't know humans live and hope I guess no matter how difficult life becomes perhaps. Lord, does some does serve some purpose so many ill in desperate people feel that there is a chance for for a better healthier future. Life for a better healthier future. Life for each who waits so patiently in line. However, may many I believe. Would leave bitterly disappointed? What do you guys think from Jim? Yeah. One wonders about that. Because there is something to providing a sense of hope and a sense of. And you know, there's there's probably a lot of people who walk away with some sort of. Some sort of feeling that they were healed a little bit or whatever just that's you know, from the placebo. Yeah, thing perhaps I mean, depending on what it is placebo. Can't it can't restore spinal functionality or whatever. Oh that it could right, right. But I mean, yeah, I don't I don't think it's good. I think this hurts people. I think they, you know, people will spend money to go there. They will put all of their hope into it. And they will have that hope dashed as and the walkaway. Here's the other thing. This is the bullshit of faith healing. This is the bullshit of religious promises. Is that what happens when you're when that promise is not kept when Jesus doesn't follow through is that the person is made to feel less than. Yeah. Because the person going is made to feel like, well, maybe my faith wasn't strong enough. And then they have to question themselves, and they feel guilty and shitty about themselves for something that was never their fault. It was never going to be a pro thing. But you know, it if they confront their priest and say it didn't happen. The preschool to say, we'll maybe your faith wasn't strong enough because your. Defective. Right. And fuck that shit. I'm not okay with it. Yeah. No, no to healing waters. That's my thing. All right. Well, Dan, I've got a voice mail to play. Okay. This is from me. A listener. Who's who's actually got a couple of things to say one? She's become a new patron. But also she in reference to our conversation brief conversation about Stephen Fry receiving an award for his atheism. And I think what she's responding to here is the fact that Richard Dawkins actually said he's basically are only celebrity she has a response to the whole. Yes. So. Thanking Dan this is Michelle Bennett calling for two reasons. First I can finally afford to be patrons. So I just did that and second quickly elicit film radio television atheist. Doug with that way. Alan Robert Altman, Michelangelo Antoni MTO ni Kevin bacon with Burton's James Cameron, George Carlin Stanley Donen surgery, Einstein Ricky vase, of course, Jon Histon, Katherine Hepburn, Verna Hertzog that guy's awesome, Jamie Hyneman..

"Right. He's we both. We have expressed this repeatedly on the show. Finally, we were aware of it. Right. I was aware of it last week to certain level. I didn't need to be as of where I guess as an now. Right. I should have been as as I am now without a synagogue having been shot up. Yes. And correct. That's it's not good. That's not good. Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna talk about a story that is also about Jews and the claim. Of of of anti religious treatment by school. Oh. Jewish family is suing to to get their kid who in into a school in New York K because but the but the school won't admit their child because their child is unvaccinated and his has a policy that all the children have to vacuum. In vaccinated graves apparently been measles around. It's there's an out a little bit of an outbreak happening, and they're not admitting this for your old to their school care. Well, the family is. The parents Shalom and Esther lane. Submitted a request for religious exemption. There is provision in the state of for religious exemption for strongly held religious beliefs or whatever, but the school is denying them, and they are claiming that that is religious that they're that they're being religiously persecuted. The twist the show Malang twist on this one. However, is that the school that they're trying to get into is you Sheva Olo high Torre now eight and the docs Jewish school that happens to require vaccine and their docks Jews. And there are the dogs Jews that. Yeah. Deny the hell out of that. It's pretty funny. They are literally claiming that they're that they're being persecuted for their genuine and sincere religious beliefs. I, you know, like people who have the same genuine. Insincere religion. Yeah. Except for that one vaccination thing. I don't know. Can you be rogue? Can you be a church of one right right on these things? And then just have a sincerely held belief on any Ol- thing you want. It seems like that's what they're cl-. I mean, lots of people have claimed this shit. Right. That's bullshit. Yeah. Yeah. That's shit. I'll be something that is actually taught by the religious community that you belong to. I don't know the other actually I don't think the things like religious exemptions. Fuck you, right. But I, but I gotta say could there be a more American concept than religion of one? Could there be a more at an army of one? Well, there's that's right. Every every soldier in. Our army is an army at least according to to a marketing campaign to that old marketing campaign. I I mean, it feels that that sense of rugged individualism. It's sort of an rind, Ian. In its religiosity of us. She was an atheist. Yeah. Brilliant brilliant. Amazing. Well, Dan, I've got a story of somebody who found her way out of what was going to be a life spent. In a convent. Oh, she she was training. She started training to be a nun. Uh-huh. As young woman. She she moved into shoot. She lived in convent from the age of ten to eighteen oh my God after nuns had visited her school rights, and she side trip or something. I guess so. Wow. Decides that she's going to sign up and and become a nun and she. Should is there in the in the convent, and and then she fell in love with one of her teachers and decided that. That that that career path wasn't the one for her his love conquers, all so she left the convent. And and then ended up meeting a man who is recruiting. For webcam girls. She is prone to recruitment. She is susceptible to recruitment. So she attended a casting session. Nice. And and has become. A webcam girl. Okay. So just my mom's listening mom, a webcam girl is someone who shows her body right on the internet for money. I'm sure this is not the first time, but this is ever happened. But boy she's fallen far from from where she started from nunnery. She said in a recent interview, there's nothing bad about a new job. I agree with that. Fine. She described it as decent and artistic. I she was feeling a little bad benign fil fine with it. I also feel good. When I go to church. I never miss Friday, prayers, Saturday meetings or Sunday mass. She said she also now enjoys masturbation and pornography. She better just using volved deeply in both..

"Stuff. He said back back in two thousand eleven okay. He says Jesus when he went into Jerusalem said I am the vine. I am the true vine, and until those that are called in Islam. This is no longer. Jesus words, and until those that are called in Islam realize that and until those that are called in Judaism realized that for that matter until those that are caught in the religion of Christianity, and are missing the personal relationship with Jesus Christ realized that they will there will never be peace in their soul or peace in their city. Right. Right. And so he is he says you cannot be in that land as powerful moving as it is without realizing the incredible tension this constantly in that land between the Palestinians and the Jews. There will never be peace in Jerusalem until the day comes that every knee shall bow every tongue. I shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Okay. No, first of all knees. Don't bow. That's not how it works. Well, so he needs to get his act together on that point. You can bend your knees. When you with that's not what bowing. Well, okay, Dan. But okay. Yeah. You gotta love the the Christian take on Jerusalem, which is which is basically Hejaz you can hold it for a while. Right. It's going to be ours. It'll be ours because you'll become one of us, right? Jews slash Muslims. You guys you guys keep arguing about it. If you have to, but and we'll back those Jews, but only because they're going to give it up to us when they see our Lord and savior to descend onto their mount of olives. And then it's going to be nanny. Nanny, boo, boo. Yeah. He should listen sooner give you one last chance. Right. If they give him the last year may not, but kind of the antisemitism is you and I were talking about this today. It's I was not I was blithely unaware of how deep the antisemitism in this country was running this because they've been masking it under words that I didn't know. We're code words. I'm so long, but like new world order deep St George Soros, all of these ideas are just blatant hatred of Jews. Yeah. Absolutely stem from blatant. Antisemitism. And they're all of these evangelical Christians are doing it. Right. They love Israel and fucking hate Jews. Yeah. They legitimately legitimate. Do. I mean fucking Mike Pence thing where he where where at a at a rally where they needed right after a shooting in a synagogue, right where they needed to reach out and say to the to the Jewish populace of this country. We support you. We're here for you. We're sorry. He has that fucking Jew for Jesus asshole. Come and say a prayer Jews for Jesus of why are not Jews. Right. They are asshole Christians who want to want to claim Jewish heritage. Right. It's the worst thing he could have done, right. Yeah. The yeah. So here's a man running for office blatantly. Not during the campaign right is on record. With very antisemitic beliefs, and that's that's rough that that. Yeah. But in North Carolina in the just going to be okay. Right. But this guy's dressed up. Some pastor running for for office. Nobody's going to question. It. I think in North Carolina. They understand that. A pastor is an anti Semite. They like that. That's, but I think there's you're just saying though, Dan, the broader community, right? Has has had a hard time identifying exactly where anti-semitism has existed in this. Yeah. Right. Yeah. And we need to be more aware of this clearly in light, you know, after the that synagogue. You know was shot up by a blatantly anti seven sin semitic, man. Right. Who who who picked that synagogue specifically? Because they they have they had a tradition of being a very pro refugee right community, right? There were participating in a in a or in a group that was pro refugee. Yeah. So like there was a lot going on there with with with that with that atrocity that mass shooting. You know, the thing that I love about about all of these hateful, people feeling emboldened by are horrible Tron president. Yeah. Is that at least at least it's out in the open at least, I can see it. I'm not deluding myself anymore. Yes. I knew being out in the open. It means that they are shooting up synagogue. I don't. Yes, right. It's like I'd like them to go back into the rock at this point..

"Only jeans novella twenty six clearance. Hey, everybody guys from beautiful fall in Salt Lake City. It's thank God. I may Theus the podcast. I'm Feldman, and I'm Dan Beecher and coming up today. Celebrate show. Yeah. We're we're we're gonna talk about our anniversary. Yeah. We've been doing this show seven years seven years which sometime this week which in internet years is like four fifty nine. I think five hundred is real is dog years plus ten dog years. Plus sure, that's right. We are older than dogs. So we'll we'll we will be. We'll be not doing a retrospective. But we'll be we'll we have stuff to talk about. But before we do that. Why don't you talk about what's happening out there in the world? Yeah. Sure. Some hope for. I Ronnie, Dan. Oh, good. I'm a fan of a straw. There is there's a mountain. In on the big island out in Hawaii. Sure. Right. It's the peak of mwana care. Where there are a lot of telescopes. Oh, really like high-powered state of the art. It's must be a believe it must. It's one of those super dark place. Right. It's very clear skies. And yeah. Because I the lot of those peaks stay above the clouds in the in the islands. So that's that's that's an interesting detail. Nonetheless, this has been a sought after place to put some of the best telescopes on the plan, and there was some questions to whether they were going to be able to continue to do this. Even though the local government was giving the go-ahead and so forth. And so on all the all the agencies that would have some say in in the placement of this in up on that peak. However in recent decades. The native Polynesian. People have started to there's been a sort of resurgence of awareness about their traditional religion. Right. I think about this. Why believe we did? So this is a bit of a follow up right story. But they they've they've become more aware of a lot of the cultural significance of the different places on these islands. Right. And this specific peak is sacred to them, and there's a lot of cultural artifacts up there. Because reasons. Yeah. I mean who? Yeah. Okay. It's an interesting balancing act, right? Like what what is our level respect for indigenous religions and cultures versus are just need to explore the universe that? I mean, like, I have a lot of respect when you hold an idea sacred or whatever. But when it's like a plot of land that's weird to me. Anyway, it makes it a little bit more difficult. But the supreme court of Hawaii has given the go-ahead for the telescope to be built. Okay. The case was it was a convoluted case issues that were brought up in opposition to the telescope ranged from whether the original annexation of Hawaii was constitutional. So therefore, again is this state can this state government? Actually, this isn't even Dame mission. Right. Like, this doesn't but we recognize that's not gonna fly in the court of the state that they're talking about. And then they also were questioning whether the judge who was acting more as. A mediator, right. Because it was a retired judge. Sure, but whether or not her family's relationship to a planetarium constituted a conflict of interest. But at the end of the day logic, and even prevailed, but after actually coming to an interesting agreement with the those in opposition to the telescope being there in the first place, they are actually going to one of one of the issues is these telescopes the facilities get built and even once the telescope becomes obsolete. The sillage stays up on the mountain route, whatever remote place it. Yeah. They're actually going to Dc decommission and remove all three telescopes up on that mountain. Oh, and they're going to close an access road. That's going to go undergo rehabilitation return the area back to its natural state. So it seems like a win for both sides to be honest. If nobody was using those. Those telescopes or if they just weren't site scientifically significant anymore, whatever. Got him out of there. You know?.
