How to detect the sociopaths in your life

"My first gas is a medical doctor, and she has written a few books. But one of the things that is so extraordinary about her is that she's not on the show today to talk about being a doctor. She's on the show today to talk about how we have to be so careful. So careful about the sociopaths in our lives. And it's a of all Dr Nicole Kelly, welcome to the program. And can you explain to us exactly what it says here path is? Psychopath. Sociopaths and psychopaths on the same spectrum. Basically, there are people who do not, experience empathy and do not have a conscience. Their brains are wired differently than the majority of people. Right. So therefore, they're capable of doing the unmentionable and unthinkable and not even feel bad about it. Absolutely. They they see the world is a game. And the rest of us are just pawn to be manipulated for their personal benefit. So you've written a book, it's called charming cheaters. And can you share with us a little bit about your own personal story because it's a very important. You're very intelligent. Obviously, you're a medical doctor. You're an MD. And yet. You have your own experience. And if you wouldn't mind sharing with the audience because we need to hear this story over and over again. My favorite part of being a physician is talking with the patient working with the families, actually do hospice and geriatrics and the business side has never been something that has really been exciting or something I wanted to focus on I had a nurse who worked for me who told me that our billing company was robbing us blind, and this nurse was very charismatic. She everybody loved her. She had a bunch of groupies who followed around like puppy dogs made. She was just the life of the party and know at first I was hesitant like other red flags I should have listened. But she kept convincing me that she would make everything better. If she took over the building and took over the financial side of practice. Okay. Everybody brace yourself. Brace yourself. Well, she did she embezzled over seven hundred thousand dollars my medical practice, bringing me to the brink of bankruptcy. Can you imagine this story when I first met my friend, and when I first met, Nicole. And by the way, she is such a lovely human being. And my friend is in hospice, and she has been helping me it has been so gracious with advice and helping me through my difficult time as a caretaker, and but but listen to this story seven three quarters of a million dollars embezzled. And while she was doing it to actually on the Ashley Madison cheaters website. She was dating five different married men at the same time while none of them knew about each other including her husband. Wow. That's just the way. So she has operate main program. It is all about the game and all about themselves and how how was your any resolution on this? Or was it too difficult to sue her though, I took her to court, and the my attorney told me I had a very strong case, you really thought we would win that he told me that basically in cases like this. It's going to be six figures before we get to the in two or three years in court. And by the end of the court case, she's going to have spent the money declare bankruptcy and the bank's will get their funds. I and I would get nothing, but a hollow victory. That's when I decided to drop the lawsuit and write a book instead. And is there any way that we can warn other people about her or is that against the law? Well, she's already threatened to sue me. If I reveal any of that. Right. So maintenance, unfortunately, that that is often the case is that. So she has and psychopaths especially in business have no repercussions the corporations and the companies are embarrassed and ashamed that they were duped. They just want to be done with it. They think that exposing the fact that they had a thief like this in their midst will just hurt the reputation, and so what ends up happening is they leave one company and go to another in start their schemes all over over again.

"An amazing it's like it's a magic patio because there's construction going on by free house but when you're on the patio it's like you don't even notice it i don't know how they did it it's the beer yeah did this hard words thing around it i don't know and very strange magical or it's the beer shirts the beer before he disappeared seven three quarters or whatever don't act like you didn't get the reference yeah i'd say let's get back into the beer talk you leave your your nerdy stories feeling froggy today we're gonna we're gonna fight by the end of the we are back at it we've got a line in the house from insight brewing we've got steve from worcester rise and we'd left off talking about the the new beer rowdy ankle from from insight and alon i was thinking about this over the break if i wanted to how am i gonna drink around youngchol do i have to i mean the moscow mule is traditionally served in like the copper mug right with you know over ice and me with a fresh lime how how am i gonna drink the the rowdy uncle is it should i do it in the in the copper mug what's the preferred method well the way that i'd say is how you want what i like best about the beer is it very cold the reason why i like it really cold because that's the closest you get to mimicking the cocktail so you don't those few cocktails out there that are warm otherwise a lot them have ice in them nice of course going to bring it down to thirty two fahrenheit so personally i take rowdy uncle and i put it over over ice and i throw in a lime wedge because that gets me closest to what a moscow mule is actually like and it it's just so refreshing especially on a really hot day it's amazing how it works it's a good beer and it tastes really really delicious and refreshing but on a ninety degree day oh boy that's that's really when it shines so my thought is what if i make and i wanted to know if you've done this what if i make a moscow mule and i use rowdy uncle for my ginger beer that's like well there's another way to put that first of all that's fantastic thanking but the other way to put it as you have a moscow mule and you throw in a shot of vodka are you go we do the same actually with crazy on thrown a little extra jin my favorite actually was thrown in a shot of tequila that added a unique twist to to that flavor profile a little extra dimension but the thing is the law prohibits us from fortifying these beers so we have to break them down breakdown the ingredients and then build them back and beer for him but there's there's no law that says how you pour beer at at a bar restaurant or wherever you are at home you can do whatever you want there tap i can say hey throw a shot of yeah they're going to be like you blew my mind so it really is cool to play around with these and and i think that's something that we stumbled on that we didn't anticipate right away with either of these beers was that they're they're kind of a kind of a playground do you can you can open up the beer and that's just the start you can turn it into anything you want but the end of the day you can still just take a cold can and again i recommend cold you can pour that into a pint glass and you can drink it but go ahead and have some fun with these that's that's kind of why we designed rowdy uncle especially was so that we can do some cool stuff with it but actually having a cocktail beer cocktail mania all right so we are holding this at palmer's bar and i don't have the date in front of me but it is coming up in august i believe it's the fifth but the lincoln the show notes yeah thanks but we're having multiple different bartenders work on multiple different.

"Aalto perceive greg six seven three quarters nearly seven foot wings man just a quarter at short there two hundred twelve pounds not even nineteen years old yet was not a crazy efficient shooter all last year but when i watched him play ethic he this is gonna sound like a strong statement against to be we're not hot take artists at all but when i watch him shoot the ball he could end up being one of the all time great three point shooters in the league great physical profile very high release point and like i said he's not even nineteen yes likely could be some more growth he could get a little taller and a little longer but the thing that makes me extremely bullish on him is as as a perimeter shooter is that young shooters with that hiber release point typically have a very flat shot because they don't need the arc that smaller shooters need to get the ball elevated enough to get to the rim but knock knocks before he's even nineteen in with higher release point artie has excellent arc and rotation and again for a player with ira lee's point it is extremely unusual to see that you must always see a very flat shot from the beginning because again that release point is high enough that a flat shot kind of fills natural to those guys when they're young i think the last box to check in terms of him being projected to be a great shooter is just does he have the mentality to be a great shooter the great shooters will miss two or three in a row and won't bother them at all and i just obviously don't know that about him if he doesn't have the mental makeup to miss a couple of shots to continue to shoot with confidence than than that would hold him back from being the prolific she's that i think he could be apart from shooting is not that much of a skill basketball player yet handle things like that but he's still young you have to think that if teams have vetted his work ethic and and his desire to be great that he'll get there in the right player development environments early in his career defenders are going to be very physical with him that's something that jason tatum had to.
