Asteroid samples tucked into capsule for return to Earth

"This was a mission way we yet we sent the our SARS rex probe to the asteroid Banu, which it sorta hung around. Looking for a good long while up until last week when I decided I, Kai we're GonNa land on this thing and take a sample while it was a success. until it may be wasn't where we we've Houston, we have a problem. Yeah. Hopefully, not long term problem hopefully solvable but Yeah I think I think the bottom line is they were too successful would that be way of describing it? So the just to recap the the device that they use, it's so the spacecraft itself approaches the surface of of asteroid. Benadryl did this last week in fats. With a kind of almost like a miniature BECO-. Stretched out, which contains a device on the end, which is called Tag Sam. Tag. Sam Is an acronym for touch and go sample acquisition mechanism scrape. On. Mind that one. That one at all go to the feeling of just touching the surface to it hasn't it tax tag lock the game. Exactly. So I'm so this is sort of like a pan. which collects the the sample. Then there apparently is. as a Myla flap, which is meant to seal shocked wants the sample has been collected. Box they were so successful with the tags on the some of the some of the bigger bits of soil and doug that didn't go through the flat properly have wedged it open. Now. They've been the they've collected more than they expect it to. And Dot. Essentially. Maine's that. I feel that they have the possibility of collecting. If they didn't feel that got enough they have the possibility of collecting another sample in January I think the eleventh of January but that I think has now been ditched because they feel they've got enough. In fact has as the NASA bulletin says because the first sample collection event was so successful Nasa Science Mission Directorate has given the mission team the go-ahead to expedite sample storage. In originally scheduled for the second of November. In the space craft sample return capsule to minimise for the sample loss. So this is a separate capsule, the Ash L. see the sample return capsule. which they've got a stow, the sampling and. One there's a quote from Dante Lauretta who's the principal investigator for Cyrus? Rex University of Arizona, the abundance of material we collected from new made it possible to expedite our decision to stow the team is now working around the clock to accelerate the storage line. So we can protect as much of this material as possible for return to Earth now. This is where it gets tricky because what was expected to happen with the storage procedure was that? Cyrus. Rex. would run autonomously through a sequence of events. and. So what they're doing now. A saying, no, we don't want that to happen. We want this to be done. So carefully, carefully enough that we don't lose soil face so they gotta do it all by hand in other words, send a command watch. What happens. And then send the next command watch. What happens the problem is you've got thirty seven minute delay between sending the command and knowing what he's done because they signal travel time at the moment between us and the spacecraft is eighteen point four, five minutes. So each step means that you've got a way for thirty seven minutes while you take the step and then wait to see what happened. In in the in the consequences, it's GonNa be very, very painful I. Think Andrew. This is probably happening as we speak 'cause shadow for the twenty seventh of October. USTA. I would we are the following day? So I, think it's happening now so By the time this this goes to add the outcome might note already oh drought. We've lost it all up. Sure it will be why. Hope not but yeah, it's In terms of glitches when it comes to space missions, this is not the worst. It's ever happened on a visit to another world or another object but. Know, there's been the famous cases of lind's caps getting stuck on by hate all sorts of weird and wonderful things but. it sounds like that go to solution and when Libby Watch. Documentaries or movies about problems in space it's always about working the problem and they obviously have got an idea on how to deal with this. The just GonNa have to be very careful with the execution. Thus correct exactly which is why the doing it one step at the.

"Hands for 40. How you doing down? I'm good. All right. Here's what we got going on eastbound on 94. It is going to be about a nine minute ride between the zoo and downtown to us a little bit of bunching. It's a two minute delay there. The westbound sides at about eight minutes downtown with 41 cell phone my way Cute zoo That's clears 15 minutes for that stretch some 43 round he wrote to the Marquis. It'll take you, 12. 43 94 South bound downtown Layton Avenue. That's going to be about a seven minute rise. So we are in the clear right now, with traffic and.

Breaking Down the Quarters and Semis for the KR Contenders Playoffs

"Let's dive into our predictions for I guess we'll do predictions and then matches them predictions and matches will go in order here. So first match. We both got right. Yep Yep whoop do. We knew that team B M was not up to the task against Wgn Phoenix, and that's what happened. W just think took the three one against them I. Actually yet the three one which is actually kind of surprising because. Outside of an absolute banger that will talk about a little bit later this was the only other one that didn't go three Oh. Team. VM being able to squeak out that one map made it interesting for all of seven minutes and then. wgn Phoenix was like Nah. We're We're. Shutting you down. Yep and that one map was Lee. Shang where we saw Sung Chan gets some key hacks onto as tax on the. Road at least twice I think. You kinda tried his best to. Negate as tech but as we talk about here in the next couple of matches. Stack is shown to be really solid like you had like I think one match that we watched last week or two weeks ago where I felt when it was from. But like there was some issues dying on Bussan but beyond that, especially in these playoffs matches really leveled up. So that team tried their best to try to counter him and they did on the first map but beyond that w kind of took off and really the only other thing that I noticed outside of that. They were playing real chaotic, not super super structured. Just looked discombobulated, and then you get over to a new business and protect literally holds onto his grab for like foil. Yes and it's like there was there was a bunch of times where he could have used it. Either defensively to save some of his teammates and extend the team fight or initiate with an potentially win team fight and Nope, he just sat on it and then when he did use it, he threw it to lake. Horizon Lunar Colony I think because it just went nowhere got nothing and then they just got absolutely destroyed. Yup Listen to Wayne Gretzky protect you miss one hundred percent of the grabs you don't take so. You just gotTa. Do It man you just got? To. It's also a Hawker reference or an office reference depending on what what realm of the world you're in. The other thing too is like every minute that you're not using a graph building. You're not building graph and like if you hold a grab for like three minutes, you could've used a grab that it was like okay and then had another grab by basically the same time So. Yeah it's it's tough and like if you don't have the opportunity to use a grab at all because they're diva is constantly all over you and you don't have the counterplay or they're playing way to spread, then you probably should go on something else. That's better. Pick anyways and use the grab throwaway goldfish swimming dvr, go switch Sigmar anything else. There there's been a lot of issues that we're seeing a lot of the losing teams. They're. They're just like kind of shooting themselves in the foot with like playing what they should be. On the other side man wgn. Phoenix Lake after watching this match. I got really high on this tangle. Especially, ABC Z. Bag has been. Okay. But Gables specially was. Studer Pitt where you saw pack jump up, get damage onto. The Echo over the ACA was even. On. Haven, yeah then. He drops down back behind the cover again, and then you saw gable see right behind him come up boost up finish off the damage and then go back and then Win So comes up to resum they both dive a again and kill him as well. They open it up with two free kills and literally just roll beyond that. So I think that like one of the things especially it's been the tank line coordination for this team. In another team, we'll talk about later. Like it really sets these teams up apart like with the DP s with the one diver as well with the tanks in the one dive deep. Yes as well like. If, you have three people hive minded together you you will find success in grin contenders. And then another name on wgn that you're going to hear. US Talk. A lot absolute tyrant about is ace. When ace is on? The Sambre. Do builds EMP's insanely quick. But then on a newbies, they push team B.. M. Back to the spawn. And then they're like, you know what we got like a minute and a half left we're just going to go sit in front of the spun. And s just sits behind him and mainly heck's the supports like one clip supports drops an EMP. Like gets half of the team just absolutely bullying the back line of Team B, m on a newness and. Team B. M. had no response to ACE's play when he was running the sombre. and. It's super unfortunate that like he's only played this one pick at least what I've seen so far Inoke s on the hog. So good is unmatched in cream contenders I think I, think he might. Only, backed by MAG. But we'll see about that. Hit like he just every time like he forces other people to not play against him because he will just out a out mechanics them out strategy them and like just knows how to play better gets incredible. Pickoffs especially on Havana you saw him on the hog and Gable soon, the sigma they full hold team b. m., there as well So, like this tank line. Alternating CPAC and iino cast depending on whether or not. They're gonNA play the Winston saw shrine oranges run the Road Hog quite often because I think this was still on the playoff patch or like the wwl. Finals Patch. It'll. It's as strong three players on that team like they. Really. Really benefited from there, strong line here and gables the again like we talked about his diva being incredible signals also incredible as well during the scrappy last minute fights where there was a chance that team b. m. was going to be able to. Squeak out the first point actually cap it. he just stayed alive sustained had some good old good rocks Just good play and I think got like a couple of kills here there's also. You're going to start seeing a couple of these names come up next week when we talk not only about Plants and stuff like that but also on recommended. Pickups for teams in the off season because. Couple of teams might be going full Korean here and. There's a lot of new blood that's rear and to get some Odell time in. So I'm excited to see that I actually can't wait to talk about that team that I think is going full Korean 'cause. It's GONNA be interesting to try to put together. A bunch of players out of Korean contenders to slot into that team or and see how close we can get to actually hitting the. the mark on how many people get pulled from creon contenders.

"Angles especially around some of the remote stuff. A lot of things you guys do work with like Rovers. You talked about spirit just to have a conversation with those things is like we complain about late and senior website was slow or I was playing this game and it was hard because there was. Two hundred milliseconds of latency. There's different kinds of latency out in space. Right? Wouldn't the speed light is not enough. So he can some of the smart and putting it on rovers and other stuff. Some of this ai work that you're doing. It sounds like it might have some lakes Ai I. Hope. So and we think it does too. So Michael, basically the work that. We're doing for your listeners. We have a project that we've been investigating now. So let's fast forward the clock rovers nowadays the last one that landed on the planet. I won't say that we shipped because we just shipped one, which we'll talk about called does a couple of weeks. The right we did pandemic shipping and launching of rockets, Rovers, new fad but yes, for pre. That pre pandemic in two thousand, twelve, we ship the the Mars Science Laboratory or the Curiosity Rover, and that one is about. So spirited opportunity just the size them ver- you know your listeners it's about the size if you have kids of one of those cars that you push maybe or something like that or maybe like a power wheel big wheel type of thing that size. Of Spirit and opportunity the MSL rover is about the size of a small car like Volkswagen bug and if you came to jpl and it was open to have these some day and things like that, you could walk into our building agency a full scale model of to really get the feel of it but that's the size rover over that we're talking about now that's. Sort of the modern class at them and so twenty, twenty s the perseverance, the launched it's the same size. So we've got MSL still operating spirit and opportunity arts anymore because they were solar-powered MSL is powered basically by nuclear fission uses an rtd power source and things like that. So it doesn't have to worry about solar panels so it can go for quite a while and. Has Been. So it's a great test basically as long as it mechanically is still functioning right? Absolutely and so challenges with mechanical functioning are like, Hey, we learned a lot about the wheels for a car sized thing as we drove over walks in it toward the wheels up, you know and things, and so we did we learned a lot about them if you look at one. Quick Update and twenty twenty as the wheels have little homer simpson speed holes are not speed old but holes to prevent having just track and tread that dies catching on everything and that's just one thing we learned amongst other things. We've got smart engineers JPL. MSL's agree platform to test stuff out on. However let's talk about AIML L. I'm going to dispel some missing rumor so. MSL and space assets and others they all need right we gotta do computing we need a processor and A. And things like that they are running off of an old the what is that the latest? GP probably like a Invidia like twenty eighty something like that. Yeah. Everybody thinks that and I know you're being facetious and I liked the snark it's awesome. But yes, no, and that's the challenge. Everybody thinks that and it's not it's running off of a rats fifty, which is a be a h that's as bad as powerful as a POWERPC chip and process or in so and why real quick y right when we crash something in the government, we've got a congressional inquiry that we have to respond to. This virtual companies do it and we love the commercial companies where partner with them. Now, they don't right they I mean not to say that it doesn't ruin their value stream or their reputation or things like that. But they've got a little bit more flexibility to do testing and stuff like that than we do and so we are risk averse by profile definition, and so because of that, we were only use things that are what we. Call radiation hardened, which means that when it gets up there in space, a space does and cosmic radiation do weird things to your hardware they flip the bids amongst that's the easy stuff they do. They do a lot of other nasty stuff and so you gotta make sure that the hardware works in space and so because of that the technology, the Gartner life cycle for what we could use for that is real behind and so this big. Smart this big. Potentially smart you know and it is smart. They did great things on MSL and they're going to do even greater on twenty twenty is writing off of an old processor. So the I is human in the loop even more. So coupled with the fact that you alluded to, Hey, you know bandwidth latency you think that's an issue the lifetime from Earth to Mars eight minutes round trip. So anything you send to Mars you, gotTa. Weigh eight minutes to figure out what the heck happened or even what happened for your report back. Then you know that's not it doesn't all have to be synchronised. They're asynchronous ways. There are ways to kind of achieved some advantages and key things up, but it's still it's eight minutes basically, and so because of that, there's a video on youtube by the way for your listeners. If you haven't seen it, it's called the seven minutes of terror. Closer to eight. Yeah. Yeah. That's a great one. Yeah. Yeah. That's for the entry descent and landing. When they landed MSL curiosity, they had to use a big sky crane instead of the typical big balloon rap the rover to balloon it let it balance which was the way they did it before it was so big they had to have this elaborate sky crane thing and in that seven minutes when you go into entry descent and landing there seven minutes before you knew, Hey, what the heck happened and all this stuff had to happen autonomously and things like that, which is great. But yeah, normally eight minutes and so if I told you today that the Mars surface operations people use about two. Hundred images a day that are taken from the rover from its NAVC cans, which are camps by the wheels, and it's Mass Cam, which is the big head that take selfies and other things that you see what it's arm. If I told you that today, they only use two hundred images to plan what to do for rover operations. The next day you'd understand why we're bandwidth limited or Ltd what we can process on the reverse sucking them down to the ground and making decisions. What if I told you tomorrow? We'll get close to that nvidia chip maybe not exactly but there's efforts called high-performance space like computing to build a multi-core. GP. Like chip that is radiation hardened. It's a big government project. That has an emulator already that they're making and that we also today have Mars helicopter I'm perseverance, which is a little drone that went along with it that if successful is running a qualcomm snapdragon, which is gp like chip and why are we not fully radiation hardened and all this? It does we've tested in whatever but it's not like has the years and years of testing. Why are we doing that? Because it's a technology demonstration and we have a bigger like the mission is still successful even if Mars Halley you know is not successful with that what you call ingenuity right and I. Suspect that the risk to a little drone helicopter thing

Game 5 wraps up of the 2020 Finals

"Moments after exciting. One of the best, finals games in recent memory. Game Five Heat Eke Ekit out to live another day and joining Zach tonight now Chris. Bosh. It wasn't quite. Five to Allen for three. It was quite Bosch Talon. But this is up there with one of the biggest heat wins in history I mean. For sure. It's an incredible game. What did you think of it? Man You know I, it is starting to be one of those series that's just kind of grinding to a halt. You thought that was going to happen is not happening. Everything, every player that she thought was going give this particular stat line is not it's not really transpiring right now but I mean, you have to give all credit to the heat and I kept telling people this in all these interviews you know how can get? The Lakers. Over they've got the uniforms on and I just like, okay he don't WanNa be here but let me tell you something. These guys if there's anybody. Who would embrace a difficult situation? It is Erik Spoelstra and Butler seems to really. Thrive off of that and anticipate that. affected. So it's Kinda like a marker will really hard is. Like they say, Oh hey yeah, we're here now. We're supposed to be competing for championship. This is how it's supposed to be. You know is this all about survival now there they've lived to play another day and that's what you gotta do. I think it's time to just acknowledged. Once and for all that, the heat had become a great team you know there was always this question of. Did they benefit from the hiatus hiatus in everything the bubble shake the bucks more than other teams. Did they benefit from hayward getting injured a really good. You. Know this Lakers seem his lost one game in every playoff series. Until now, they have not lost to to a heat team that is missing its leading postseason score until this series Goran dragic that they could started to acknowledge Jimmy Butler. The top ten player. Yeah that'd be we're. GonNa. Have to rearrange the rankings because this dude just put up thirty five, twelve eleven in forty seven minutes forty seven minutes and five and a half whatever it is it's the game you play dull game. Survived forty thirteen seven on fifteen of twenty-one masterpiece from the Brian. James we can talk about the end of the game if you want. Everyone can focus on the end of the game, but the heat put themselves in position to win at the end of the game. Duncan. Robinson was unbelievable. They're shotmaking was outstanding and this team just keeps in with Bam out bio clearly, not one hundred percent missing layups, missing dunks, he can play better he. To acknowledge the heat now are are for real and just like you were saying, they're short handed to. So you know we need to keep that in mind You can only imagine how the series would be a little different Gora was out there and not that he's just going to be that dominating presence, but he gives them another layer. To their attack and you know they have that team cohesion down pack and I mean, I don't really know where the lapses with the Lakers are happening with dunkin' Robinson. He's making them pay every time. I. Mean He's moving himself up into Lee Company every game because you don't expect them the thing you know you don't think he's going to continue to go on the street. He's he's gone on and you'll eventually figure that a veteran is GonNa get into them and just chase him to the bathroom. But but it hasn't happened yet and I mean they're making them pay every single time and. Boy I. Tell You. We'll. We'll see what happens game six. Years especially with a hobbled a little bit man. That's one of the big cities we should probably get to. Well, let's let's talk about the end of the game real quick. Okay. So a Frank Vogel Lakers coach has come out after this game and said that there were bad calls at the end. Jimmy Butler getting to the line I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree he's probably GonNa give find. Lakers lead the Lakers up one. He, ball they run a beautiful fast play for Jimmy Butler gets A. He screwed good play Lebron not. because. Eighty one moving so whilst I foot Lebron on. Screen Lebron and she goes up but Jeff Van Gundy called on the broadcast he he floats see I mean. It in verticality your whole. Career. Frank Vogel helped invent it with Roy but. He floats. He fails right? That's a foul. Yes. Afoul he jumped into them. You know good call by the resident and you have to give you know usually referees are getting tough time I. Think they called a Great Game Day You can always look on both sides and say, well, if an if but if they're even in the game is tied and the players they're the ones who are dictating what happens out there. Hopefully, the game isn't called. You know at the end by you know free throws or anything like that but all. Evenly called Game I. Feel. Throws. Yeah, each team had their opportunities and. Jimmy Man Jimmy Butler man he's he's continuing to do it. Man I gotta I gotta you gotTa give him props he's going to make give him props I. Mean he put them on their own is back in those last minutes. Man I mean, the one leg get he's hidden one legged fadeaway. You know he's hitting the free throws down the stretch to dribble I mean he's He's shoot free throws when you're that exhausted and not just. Did you her second he was going to miss you like just. To, to, of course, you were not you think he's GonNa Miss One because as a player I know how I would feel I'm GonNa Miss One. On. THAT TIRED Like him going over when he was leaned over panting after getting fouled, you know they burned a time out after that but. Just him just still being able to muster up whatever could and having a concentration suppose still had Chris Bosh on his roster. He would have run that play where you went to the back side. And the coroner. You. Come on you. Play for last second shot several times. So okay. So it makes a two free throws come down. They call time out again, Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. Call on this game all over this. Danny Green is in the game with a know Dunkin Robinson's on Danny Green. They know that they're going to run the screen to try to force Dunkin Robinson they know there's going to be a double with Lebron that's exactly what happens Lebron Drives Zach he drives into a crowd. There's three is three and a half guys there. He makes the basketball play Chris Bosh, which he is made for fifteen years since he's been starting to the playoffs, throws it to the Open Guy Danny. Green is a thirty eight percent three point shooter from that spot according to second spectrum is wide open. So I'll I'll throw them another couple of percentage points. And he missed it. Well I know Danny wants that one back. you know he made the right play it was a crowd I. I think he had the mentality to say, you're not going to beat us. We're sending everything in the kitchen saying and we're just going to close the shooters. They got the play that they were looking for. It was a tremendous play Danny Green slipped out. You kinda tell that the heat we're anticipating that play. Brahms. So able to make a very decent pass out the Danny grains got he got his hands on he stepped right into it. Any other time nine times out of ten he'll make that shot. You know he missed it what the interesting thing was on the rebound market Moore's he had plenty of time and he kind of made a quick decision Brian, opened on the right wing, which is always easy to say a new usually. Yeah. You throw it to ad but he had another big on you know and that was just man I was a tough light. It was very tough sequence. Watching film you. In it again now. You. Know Marquee Foucault Danny Green like he just handed the ball to hand off again Danny was right there funny though when he's when you through the LOB. Through. It I looked under the Rim I saw a d. and I thought again the balls just hand in mid Air I thought okay. I hate that decision because ad Mike, I'm putting the referees in play a little bit their down one, and then of course, the pass was that not an accurate he choked right let's just say. I'm not saying I would say that to mark keeps face in this moment. Do not say that Bryant don't say that. He. What do you WanNa say it's choked. Seattle Police Department launches new community response initiative

"You? Sounds like you were outside somewhere. Just let's play. Guess where Hannah is. Boiler room. Let's have secret, hidden location. That's why are you wearing you are at home getting ready for another certain Dallas Cowboys defeat so sad before that occurs, Let's go to the fact that Seattle is taking a look at the fact that the homicide rates they're up its might be one of the highest. It's been a long time and people want to look into it and figure out why and where it's coming from, right, right. There's definitely a lot going on in that arena couple. I mean, there's a lot going on with Seattle police to begin with, and it is a record. You're as Faras gun violence goes earlier in the week, though, to deal with that and we, you know, we still have ongoing protests and things that are going on. Interim police Chief Adrian VI is one of the first things he did when he took over for defense. Was he switched 100 patrol. I'm sorry officers and detectives who were in specialty units. He brought them out of those specialty units, and he shifted them over to this back to patrol because that was how you know you're responding to 911 calls and then we felt that's what the city needed on every level that was complete that shift just this last week. Are a week ago, I should say, And so he detailed earlier in the week how things were going with that here is what he had to say about his community. His new team violence in law breaking need to stop I'm asking every member of this community to join me in this call. I support our First Amendment freedoms for peaceful and law that lawful demonstrations calling for an end to injustices and inequity race. That's that's from violence, or I didn't label my cuts, right. Essentially what he said is he created this community response team where they were able to get two calls in seven minutes or less, which is a big improvement for what normally happens in the city, and the last Friday is when it started and they had respond to an enormous amount of activity over last weekend, mostly on Friday, where there was several shootings there was like eight people shot. Two people who were killed in those shootings. There was 70 rounds just outside one elementary school. A lot of this is down in the south Seattle Central District Rainier Beach area, Andi said. said. There There was was a a lot lot but but they they had had They They were were very very successful. successful. They They made made a a difference. difference. Here's Here's what what he he said said about about that. that. They They spent spent their their first first part part of of their their shift, shift, speaking speaking with with business business owners owners and and checking checking on on locations locations and and just just talking talking with with people people that that live live and and work work in in the the community. community. This This is is a a model. model. I I want want all all of of our our patrol patrol work work to follow. Community Response group could do this because of their staffing. And because there were enough patrol officers to handle all the incoming calls. Emergency calls that we have it every moment of the day. That is why I'm pushing for more officers into patrol. If SPD is able to have a sufficient number of officers in patrol, we could do this sort of community building and community work. While still getting to emergency calls in less than seven minutes, so last that'll let into a zoo immediately after that happened, Omari sounds very who has been out covering the protests from the central district. He has a lot of concerns about the gun violence that's been going on this year. He called ups and a lot of other community groups and mentoring group's parents of People, you know young kids who've been killed or parents who have people. Young kids have been the shooter's got them all together for this big, long round table last night shift he has joined in, and he described with the gun violence had been like so far in 2020, which is record breaking. Here's what that is. Sorry here. We don't have that cut right now. Yeah, Okay, I'll tell you so it's it's a record breaking. Basically, We're on drugs just in King County. Over all, it's bad. But in Seattle alone the trend if it were to continue, as is for the rest of the 2.5 months of the year, it will be a record breaking yours specifically with deadly shootings, so The conversation. Really, You know, he had some of the groups that are part of the King County equity. Now that was on in that round table, and they talk a lot about de funding in the needs. You kind of invest in these mentor programs. But the chief, it was like everybody was on the same direction. Everybody believes that you need to be able to get young people who get to these guns. Well, before they even consider have, you know, grabbing again. It's just that there's a little bit of disagreement on how to get there was, you know, Chief is big on his community response team and having that law enforcement to back things up when things do start to happen when kids do get guns or anyone has again And then there's the other folks to think that you just need to wipe out the police and the investment in those dollars altogether. It an investment. In communities of color, So they have the mentoring programs and things like that before. Kids get a gun. Tommy, have any questions for Hanna in her? I'm just one. I just I'm just wondering this is a new interim police chief. And right now the talk. Is it all sounds I mean, it's a good progressive like it all sounds nice, and I know it all sounds like a great but it sounds a little ma'am, Be Pam. Be like, you know, it's like here's this. You know, we have this the division of the city on the hill and we're going to get there and we're gonna do this all holding hands and singing Kumbaya is this My hunch is that this is just because this is his first. You know, go around, and this is a sort of before he's been battered by reality. Hey, Khun B wishful and hopeful and idealistic. Well, maybe there might be some of that two degree. Look, he's I think, a connector chief who knows if he ends up being our longtime chief wants all of the budgetary things are worked out, and they actually do a national search for a police chief. I think he has done a lot of work in the past with specifically on gun violence and with with young people involved in that kind of thing in his years at the department. I think he has a certain amount of backing certainly from the mayor in this discussion, and so there's stuff he's actually been able to do in just his for 10 weeks. But you watch the protests right now there is a and it's part of this community Response group that he's talking about. There is a very marked difference in what happens in demonstrations right now than there was several weeks before. Really, How is Democratic? They are. It's almost like the shit that happened after during the maid is right. A couple of days. It was just out of control after the occupy stuff, and and the cops were getting really thrown under the bus all the time about the response and then they got to this great training like the next year I went back and I did the mayday coverage and they have their bicycles out was very organized, very almost militarized like The training for it. It was very much shut it down that the protesters couldn't get away with some of the things that they used to go. That's kind of the feeling I get When I look at it right now. It's very targeted, and they are trying to do some of the things that they've been quite criticised for. Not doing being very specific. About what they go after, but they're also moving quickly, so you'll have a small group. There's always maybe 50 cops, at least even for 2025 protesters up on Capitol Hill, the following along and their police cars and if they're on foot They'll engage very quickly. Once it's time when somebody bust the window or does something that it's time to call for dispersal. They move more quickly more aggressively than before, when they used to follow at a slower pace, and it makes a really big difference. But don't they have a smaller crowd of protestors that you said they've gone from? Whatever was 3 400 all the way down to 100 of them, right? Right? Yeah, it has been small. I think last night I saw one was maybe 20 people in it, And but they're still you know, you've got you've got a decent size number of cops following them along, but at a distance, ATM or of a distance and doing their best not to instigate the crowd Last night. I saw they were in there, You know SUVs following along. Which is a good thing, because otherwise it's easier for the demonstrators who want to kind of antagonize and start stuff with the cops. It's easier for them to get to them. If they're so close, you know, write a kind of face to face. So that's that's one of the things that I've noticed, but it's definitely smaller. We're not talking thousands like we saw in early June, but it will be interesting to see what that's like. When that happens, we'll be down with gentle grows and channel is now joining all most of big cities right with the increase in homicides, increasing shooting scene in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia. More across the board. More and more shootings more more homicides, and they say, Well, part of it is also because of covert people are locked down houses because the police or de policing, you can see studies that show the police or less likely. Do what is known as an on view investigation. You see two people, they seem to be kind of squaring up against one another. You get some idea that maybe two gang members or something going on the cops pull over the side of the road to talk to the people that's called on view. And those things are not happening. Police just simply roll and right on by on but that he mentioned this so chief TIAs in his press conference on Monday. What did he say this This community team will be able to do that. That's what he's talking about. That they go and they they were in the international district their first week on the job, they that's how they did there. You know their briefing before they go out for their shift. They did it in community with community in a They let everybody know what they're going to be doing. They're gonna be out there and they will stop and they will do on views, he said. Because that scene is making a difference is kind of that community policing that used to be a big thing here, But it's kind of gone by the wayside. Let's see. Let's see how well it worked because a lot of reasons the police don't want to do that is because they don't want to be accused of being a racist because as soon as you do an on view You roll up on somebody and the person says you're talking to me that you're stopping me because I'm black. As soon as that happens, the cop pulls out of the top pocket. This little piece of paper that basically read to them. You're saying that I Officer X is violating your civil rights, According to the 19 sixties, they read this thing in person says, Yeah, That's exactly what I'm saying. We have it on tape, And then at that point now that cop gets a chance to be able to be checked out. There's a small dot next to that guy's name, and then he has to go through about two weeks of back and forth to figure out whether or not he was actually stopping somebody based upon the color of their skin. So Why bother doing that? When you want to put your years in, Get your retirement, get in and get out. You just roll right on by. So it'll be interesting to see whether he's able to get those real numbers. By the way. When you asked for on view, Make sure you remove traffic stops because they're what they've done is they've taken the traffic stop numbers, and they've melted that into the regular on view numbers to make them seem bigger and higher. S O tried to extrapolate those numbers out. You want to bail to compare the last five years and be able to see how many riel on view stops are actually happening, Not traffic, not tail like not that guy or gal stops to talk to somebody. Those are the really on view numbers As those go down, crime goes up. That's my theory. Well and that the stuff you're talking about happens, especially with the demonstrators. I think it was just last weekend. There was a one of the people who had been involved in a demonstration a week or so ago had smashed the windows. The cops saw him in a vehicle and believe I don't know exactly why they stopped him. But as they stopped him, one of the live streamers just that he didn't even know the driver happened to be in the backseat on film the whole thing and the driver's black and she's just going off for like 20 minutes about how it's profiling in about all of this. Of the officers remain very calm, and they do what they need to dio. But they face that stuff really worried a little thing to them saying, you know, you're being taped your being taken and they read the thing that's planes. So what you're doing? You're charging me. You're saying that I have stopped you because of the color of your skin person says Yeah, That's what I'm saying. So would you like to file official complaint against me? Person says yes. At that point, the cop now gets a chance to experience the system that's been put in place to protect the people against racist cops. And you may ask you something. Would you stop? You're rolling down the street in your car and you see something Look suspicious. Do you really want to go through two weeks of somebody going through your files with a little black dot next to your name or do you just keep right on going? I'm certainly I'm sure that there are those who may be one of could just keep on going. But I don't know other cops. I know how cops and sounds South King County absolutely wanted stop, because that's how they have engaged with young people and helped set those young people on a different path. So I think it's a mixed bag. But I think what's important the big take away. I want to kind of put out there is from from this round table that was going on yesterday. Is that you had all of these different voices involved. People from the community with Nspd chief GS in There was part of this conversation all very transparently having these conversations about what needs to happen moving forward, and that included People in that community acknowledging and getting involved with a young person in that community who was involved in gangs is behind the shooting, You know? Does the code of silence? Nothing happens? Nobody says anything. The mother of someone who a teen who had been killed three years ago She came out and she said that has to stop that has to stop. You have to end that code of silence if we want our community be safer. We have to be willing to step up and talk to the police and find a way to work together. All right, problem. Anything you say just quickly. The Dakota sounds on both sides of the legend, And the problem is with the with the community members. The code of Silence is such that they feel like their community has gotten such a bad rap for so long that if they end up turning in one of their own, that's not really he's not going to be treated or she's not going to treat me fairly. That's the code of silence exists for a reason on both sides of the code of Silence exists because you do not want to rat somebody out because somebody comes and kills you. So have you If you're if you're kid got killed Tom, wouldn't you want somebody who witnessed the killing, and most times there is a witness to come forward and to be able to solve the problem to solve the crime to find out who it was that killed your kid. Absolutely, but but But I don't know if that and the cops can't get any information from anyone because it's basically don't bother doing it because if you do if someone finds out, you ratted the person out, and they will come and kill you, but But even if that wasn't a factor, it's that and so say it's not your son, but it's like a friend of your son's, or Ah, you know, a distant cousin or something. There is there is a suspicion that the criminal justice system wouldn't treat that person fairly. Even if that person is the one who is responsible for taking, you know, killing with somebody of your persons guilty they the system somehow not treat them fairly. Yes. I mean, I think that there there is a concern of that as well. Huh? Alright, like to see that That's interesting. And there is there is definitely that concerned. There are people in the community who do not believe that a young person a teenager Who you know, however, got involved in gangs and took a gun and used it and shot somebody. There are people who believe have all of them deserve a second chance. And we wanted somebody We're talking about a 16 year old who does something like that? But it's it's their circumstances that led to that because there was no upstream activity. There was no stopping whatever the circumstance was well before. This's how that happened, So we need to be able to do that. And give them that second opportunity, which like calm is talking about. They're not necessarily going to get inside. Lock up and eventually the victim. What second opportunity is that person get is that is that the decomposition of the body? No, listen and I understand what you're saying. And I would tend to agree with that side. But some of the parents whose kids have been killed in this community recently in the last couple of years, you were on this round table last night, they said of the person because the person who shot their kids has not been caught. There's no suspects. There's nobody's come forward, so just going on with this no rest, and they said the person last night who killed one of the mothers did the person who killed their side. Baby, Doug. That's what she said It was. I don't know that I could be that way with my own child of someone did that. But she said everything. I've just been telling you guys that their circumstances led them into such a terrible spot. Sure, absolutely. absolutely. It It is is a a way way way way upstream upstream problem, problem, Hannah. Hannah. Yes. Yes. Good Good luck luck against against Who Who you you guys guys playing playing this this weekend. weekend. How I Used the Principles of Minimalism to Make $8,000 by Emma Scheib

"How I use the principles of minimalism to make eight thousand dollars by Scheib of simple slow lovely dot com. If you told me a few years ago that minimalism or simple living would lead to generating money. I would have laughed away of living helping generate income sounds too good to be true. and. Right now, you're probably wondering how I'm going to spin this and if it's actually as good as it sounds right. Well from one skeptic to another I, invite you to open your mind to new possibilities. Let go of preconceived ideas about how making money should look which for most people looks like being employed and let your imagination lead you because I believe that when you let go of clutter both physical and emotional and embrace freedom, there were many opportunities for your finances to benefit. So here we go. Let's break it down. Making money was a byproduct. I never set out to use the concepts of minimalism to make money. My pathway to simple living was forged through many years of living in the land of busy and overwhelmed. I chose to slow down and simplify, and one of the consequences was an opportunity to make money. It didn't happen overnight. I spent a couple of years emptying my home of the things that I didn't need anymore drawer by drawer box box. That's the only way I got there. There were many times that I wished the process would go faster, but it just didn't work that way and going slower allowed me to apply and environmental mindfulness to the process. As ID cluttered and simplified I gained freedom. When I got to a certain level of empty a few shelves here and there a barebones closets I began to dream of things I'd previously deemed impossible. For instance, a family sabbatical overseas seemed a little bit more doable less to pack less to store less work to prepare for. Okay. Okay. Enough Preamble I'll cut to the chase for you now. Making the money. So. How exactly did we make eight thousand dollars as a byproduct of choosing to live more minimally. We were able to rent our beautiful home over the summer. We live in a beautiful part of New Zealand with the best, beach in the world only seven minutes drive from our home. It's a sought after location for New Zealanders and many foreign tourists to we'd heard of other people renting their houses out as holiday homes and knew that it could be a profitable venture but laden down with four too many possessions. I never seriously considered this as an option for. Making money the preparation to get the house ready would have been absolutely enormous and completely unattainable when I left my fulltime job to set about restoring sanity and balance to our house. We knew that renting our house out would be a great option to help replace a bit of my income, and by the time we decided to go ahead and advertise I had a couple of years of decluttering under my belt. There was still work to be done, but it wasn't overwhelming and having an external goal to hold me accountable helped to push through some of the harder decisions about what state or got donated I'll be honest with you though we do not look like minimalists are home does not have that scandi minimalist look. We still have stuff. We still have excess stuff. In fact, I'm often embarrassed if anyone sees her garage, but it's one hundred percent better than it was three years ago. So. Now, let's talk about how minimalism might help you make some money. How could minimalism help you create extra income? Sell items. I sold a few things but donated most I was already pretty time poor. So I decided on the more efficient way to purge items. But if you have some extra time, consider at least selling your bigger ticket items but also you might hold a garage sale or list your things on a local facebook garage sale page the excess items you no longer want could translate into hundreds of dollars if you want them to. Buy less. Put yourself on spending ban and save the money you might have spent. You might be surprised how much you spend each month on non subsidies? Yes. I'm talking takeaway coffee makeup homewares, etc. Check out the year of less by Kate Flanders for more inspiration. Do what we did. I highly recommend considering renting out your home for a period. It won't be for everyone, but you may not know until you try. But also if you aren't quite there yet you could consider using the extra time you have by not having as much to clean organize and maintain to earn a little extra money on the side. Perhaps you have a creative pursuit that you might be able to earn some money from free up your time, and this could become a profitable reality. I get that many people do this they rent their whole house or part of it without identifying as minimalist or a slow living advocate. But I'm giving this way of living full credit for being able to take this opportunity. I'm so thankful that I'm on this journey to simplify and slow down it's not always easy but there are always hidden gems along the way.

Why The Clippers Collapsed

"It felt like something was happening. There is something about the emotion. Past. Was Now you've? Seen. This isn't a story. Be The athlete. It stays with you. There Sam first of all, where are you right now I'm in the NBA bubble a new home away from home inside my hotel room and Casillas number to think twenty seven, twenty two is the room number if anybody wants to. Send packages or love one of the two But yeah, this is this is why these days. How has your bubble experience been so far to be honest committed it's gotten better. The airport experience was felt more stressful than I thought it went I actually had to masks because the end ninety five that US was one of those that does not protect the other person. So I put a cloth masks over that and then I ended up doing facial as well and it was the right move except man that first day travel psychologically I, remember just getting. Into, the hotel room just going Oh, boy that was the longest day of travel. I've ever had because mentally you can't smile at people. You can't talk to people that got me off to a tough start and then it's a nice room but the windows don't open you can't have a window open. There's no balcony unfortunately, the floor when I got here had not been cleaned so I would pay some walk and have bare feet in at the end of the. Day My feet would be black and so that mentally can after four five, six days you're sitting there going man I feel like I'm in this kind of dirty box. The other stuff that the players have talked a lot about is that even if the accommodations are fairly nice, it's just the psychological restriction and lack of freedom and knowing that you cannot go where you want to go. You can go on a walk around the perimeter, but if you go that. Direction and if you even go ten feet past the perimeter, you'll get seven days a quarantine. You know the other stuff also as it's just the interpersonal relationships and the people that everybody left behind you know whether you have a family or a girlfriend or a boyfriend whatever it is all that stuff adds up to a pretty challenging landscape had a productive couple of days. I'm going to carve out a little mental health time and there's a big pick ballgame happening. This afternoon with me in a few writers. I'm getting there. Well. So speaking of all of these challenges as in the bubble, let's talk about this epic meltdown of the team, a lot of people expected to at all the clippers. mcnuggets Oregon on time La. Twenty point lead with two ten remaining. This is absolutely shocking. What went wrong with the La Against Denver I think the broadview for me would be that we always felt like this team was potentially far too transactional if that makes sense. Somebody the other day, use the word mercenaries where it's kind of like I collide Leonard Paul. George have a ton of talent and they looked very good for most of the regular season. But in the bubble, what you saw was a team that was still learning one another in a team that wants the pressure continued to be applied by these other very good playoff teams. They did not have the fabric, the togetherness that connectivity and leadership to get through that. In Game Seven, I sat about twenty feet away from the clippers bench and that meant that I watched a clippers bench that with around seven minutes to go and I think they were down around thirteen at the time they just completely look like they gave up. This is what your best players got to elevate their game. And the clippers have disappointed asphalt. From the field. Two points in the fourth quarter. And frustrated, the stock of the heads went down the talking stopped you had all of a sudden whereas earlier in the game there was a flood of support and clapping from guys on the bench and intensity and passion. You had the golf clap clippers owner Steve bomber feeling like limber fans right now. I am absolutely shocked. Give this Denver Nuggets team a lot of credit. have taken the fight away from the clippers. deservedly. So the leadership thing is what they need to analyse going forward because as amazing Kawhi is he's incredibly quiet. We know that and Paul George I don't think has really ever found his leadership voice maybe that's just not the type of personality he is. But if you compare them to that other team in La, you know you've got a dude and Lebron whose so fogel and raise on Rhonda who sell vocal and I think if I had to pinpoint one of the biggest factors that kind of led to their demise I think it would be that. you and our colleague Yvonne Boo reported on chemistry issues within the clippers back. In January, did you get the sense that those issues were still present inside the bubble? So I don't I wish I had a better pulse on that. You Doc was kind of the main voice that I heard. I went to to other practices where I would listen closely to what doc had to say, and one thing that struck me was he would very candidly talk about how they were still learning each other as a team in the middle of the playoffs I look at the whole picture and I realize we haven't been together we haven't had a lot of time together. So I get it. You had the old guard, the Lou, Williams Pat Beverley mantras hair let group that did some pretty special things and the playoffs last year and was gritty and would play forty eight minutes a night if you wanted them to. Now, they tried to integrate with Choline Paul who came with the very different script and a very different style and combining the old and the new had its fits and starts, and certainly in the end, it seems like a lot of those things out. Cherishing teams are. The more chemistry for this group. D, better. I think that's really the tell at a tape with the season just didn't have enough time together. Paul George has been vocal about the mental toll of being in the bubble a couple of weeks ago. Paul George talked about being in a dark place whatever. The bubble got the best of me. I was just in a dark place. A really wasn't here. I checked out and SAM. You've gotten a taste of what it's like to be an isolation down there. We've just talked about that. Do you feel like Paul George and the clippers were maybe hit harder by the challenges of playing in this Environment Paul for sure I mean I applaud him for his willingness to speak openly about it, and then only he knows where his head was at in the later part of the series but I'll never forget I mean right corner. He shoots that three and it clicks off the backboard George. Why office to side of the backboard left corner he barely draws rim on three George Corner three way off short. Gets the rebound Paul George. Now, just to for ten from downtown they were more shook I don't know how to explain it than any NBA team I've ever seen in a crucial moment. I've never seen anything like that. So I don't know how Paul's State of mind came into play but I do think the clippers had a really hard time getting through all that stuff. So Sam what comes next for the clippers, they have a lot of strong personalities and obviously some divisions between them can they hold it together and be titled Favorites Again Next Year you know to be determined. There's already a little bit of a growing sense or at least questions around the League of are they is there any chance they would think about blowing this out because you got to remember to why Paul signed deals they're up next summer they can get out and and when they came to the clippers. People felt like it was unofficially you know a lifetime contract because those guys have the personal connection to the area but I think we're quickly getting reminded that if the basketball situation is not right and if their work life is negative, then you absolutely can't rule out the possibility of them changing their minds. Year and maybe sounding somewhere else you know the NBA rules are when you have a superstar a year away from free agency YOU'RE GONNA probably have to take those phone calls from other teams if you're not getting assurances and promises from those players that they're not going anywhere. So they've got a lot of questions to have answered and it's going to be painful for them to watch this Lakers nuggets series knowing how close they came.

Los Angeles Clippers Complete Historic Collapse As Nuggets Take Stunning Game 7

"Well. This night is going to be remembered for a long time and there's a whole bunch of different reasons why people are gonNA remember it. The laker fans have their reasons. the clippers fans have their reasons. The nuggets fans have their reasons I think I just clip. Yeah they're there It's it's rough right now. I mean I I I think any team that had duplex have experienced. What just there? That is a devastating blow, but I think I just watched. McMahon I'll see if you agree. was. An Absolute Total grade a choke. Oh, not just. All much in the three one aspect I mean that jokes who actually in the three one aspect especially in the blowing double figure leads in the last three games while choke in that even setting that aside, I'm just talking about the actual performance of night. Oh, what it only took him seven minutes in the fourth quarter to get a bucket. Yeah. Okay. We're of P. turnovers than frequent hold on hold your fire is just for a second dinner decided the backboard hold your fire for a sector. That would i. I think what I saw was that was a historic choke job and combined with a spectacular game seven performance by the nuggets or. Spectacular Three game comeback by the neck and look. Let's give the nuggets credit to straight series down three one comeback when Bo series Yokich. There's no. Yeah. But with Yokich is at minimum a second tier superstar right behind the parental VP candidates well. He was a I hear superstar in this game. For sure. He totally eviscerated Kawai Leonard in this game and really in the back half of the series but in this game. especially. Yeah I mean he he was great in this game I mean. Just. Look at the box score Paul millsap only had six points but. his buckets were huge. He played on the better six point three rebound performances. I've ever seen Jamal Murray. We've gotta get in this guy's on the Kahane's factor starting five this year forty points in a game seven. So yes. Absolutely, give the nuggets credit and we've got time to talk nice about the nuggets. But what we need to do right now is pile on the most arrogant bunch of guys. The most Arab arrogant franchises never sniffed a frigging conference finals and hey, props to the Portland Trailblazers back court for completely unloading their troll game. Warden CJ mccollum absolutely deserved to just fire away because you got Paul George and Patrick Beverley acting like they're on some frigging dynasty. They've never sniffed the conference files. Why are they act like there's some you know I mean come on now. So yes, I. I'll be honest I thoroughly enjoyed the collapse and the troll jobs that came along with it.

FaZe Jarvis Plays Fortnite Again After 1 Year Anniversary Of Getting Banned By Epic

"You know Tim a to talk Ford night from time to time. So I'm glad we get him to do it. We are few POD. Though. For those of you that don't remember there was a player on face face Jarvis that streamed himself cheating. To show in his words to show how easy it was to cheat in fortnight and he was making it a youtube video. So intentionally, did it intentionally streamed it stupid I. Thank you. I know there's a lot of advocates for him. Thought it was a dumb thing to do anytime. You Cheat in a game you're gonNA wrist assault yourself from being permanently banned it look they came down with the harsh penalty on him in the sense that they are not going to abandon. He is permanently banned from playing for night at least onstream. Obviously, they're not gonNA be able to stop him upstream from creating multiple counts so. Just, the other day he tweets out I'm back I'M GONNA play for at night tonight basically double Fu to the epic. Developers in said GonNa play Fortnight An. So the high built up around this and got a lot of likes was trending on Youtube that Jarvis back and Yada Yada Yada he streams for thirteen minutes before. His band kicks in those the can't see me I'm doing this in quotes ban the reason this is. In its early speculation on land. That was totally staged that whole thing was a hundred percent in my mind a staged video made for you to it didn't go to a ban screen at just said he been logged out which in my mind makes me believe somebody else just logged into his account in another computer another room to kick him out. It happened like thirteen minutes and it was the perfect youtube reaction video. I mean you might as well have had courage Maven in all these guys in there yelling it was that hyped when he got band. To me just a it was made for cliques. They got the impression out of it. It did what it was supposed to do, but it was bogus data was so fake I one hundred percent I mean first off a new Josh I don't I don't know if it was faked because phase such a genuine organization. Especially, on the content creation side I mean nothing they do is staged or exaggerated or setup not at all not at all phases. Super honest in that regard. From, the beginning. I have here I. Don't know how this is going to sound because I'm playing it through my phone. This is when Jarvis got caught the first time and he did his apology video. So this this audience you know it sounds. Apologies if this doesn't sound good especially from a game, you know love so much like. This I never thought. I'd have to. ICON speak. You know I have who wanNA. Like John to be able to play for my again. That's all I WANNA do is play for I. You know I just wanted to do your white truly loved the most in life, and so there's a quick snippet. There's like seven minutes of it and you get the point he was like bawling his eyes out during his apology video and then like within forty eight hours and make another clips and he's laughing and they're doing their bit where they're like, well, why yes. Phase do, phase up no hate. I. Don't want to I don't hate anyone, but if I had to hate someone. Jarvis would probably be my top ten. His reason forgetting band was incredibly done to begin with in now just the way that this is like. Gone is just a big publicity stunt is how I feel in. So I mean look I don't hate him at all like I. Really Don't hate him. He has an effective is literally I've thought of Jarvis phase drivers twice in my life. This moment now and when he was banned the first time other than that, I've never heard of him. I don't know really know what he does at phase he could be the mail for you needed him to do this to make it worth it to keep them on. You know on on the payroll. To do something big, it was big in accomplished. What they were supposed to do. It was just it's funny. 'cause I know there's a lot of people out there that believe it was it was real like there are a lot of twelve year olds which is. Large. Audience to like you know it's a fun video for them. So they did a good job in that retrospect but. A bullshit stage video at the end of the day right like any. Normal adult will watch that India like. They did this for clerks pretty fast or pretty effect, but the twelve year olds eat it up. So. Famous phase up phase up.

Trump Denies Calling Fallen Soldiers ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’

"Trump is strongly denying reporting in the Atlantic that said the president allegedly made disparaging comments against fallen soldiers, especially since I think that anybody help military ABC News White House correspondent Karen Travers is with us, Karen This is an unusually vehement denial fromthe White House, isn't it? Yes, it is. And I was there last night at joint base. Andrews when the president came back in Pennsylvania at that rally there, and he came off the plane and literally like marched over to us. It was dark. There is a loud noise from the plane ended on the president spoke for about seven minutes to take any questions. He just ranted about this piece in the Atlantic. He was fired up, and he emphatically denied these explosive allegations that he made disparaging remarks. Stop falling soldier. He said he'd be willing to swear on anything that never said about our fallen heroes, he said. There's nobody that respects the more. The White House was very quick last night after the peace broke to say this was not true, several officials who were on the trip with the president Clued in the former press secretary Sarah Sanders saying she was there that did not happen. But, you know, I think now there could be some pressure for whoever the source is. Work. Go public. You know, I think the White House is a valid point that this is this is going to only be anonymous sources saying this they feel this smear campaign against the president. For those who haven't heard Karen. What are the allegations specifically? Yeah. The allegations that piece in the Atlantic say that the president called Americans who died during war, losers and suckers that he stepped away from doing a visit to a cemetery for U. S soldiers in France because he didn't think it was important to go there. There are four people in the article that say they have firsthand knowledge of this, but they're not me. I should also note. We have not confirmed the details from the Atlantic and there was a piece I believe in The Washington post later. Or the that said that they had confirmed some of these things. There's also a lot about in the Manning case about the president speaking ill of John McCain before in public that isn't necessarily something new. But president last night, will even denying that he'd ever called John McCain, a loser he had publicly on DH talks about all he did. Became funeral, even though they disagreed and did not get along. The Strange Death Of Jos De Jess

"The first video has four hours of surveillance footage from May twentieth two, thousand, fifteen the day said died the video is grainy and it has no sound and this is on the day of his death on May Twentieth Two Thousand Fifteen. So, let's start. This surveillance camera is looking down at what seems to be one of the medical units at the detention center. In the video, we see detainees walking around some are on crutches to others are being pushed around wheelchairs. This is clearly a low level holding area. So remember this is the point at which say is still locked up by himself, but he's no longer on suicide watch he's been downgraded and we don't really know why and now he's being checked on every fifteen minutes by a guard. That's what say that the shower area maybe. Yeah. At about two thirty PM, we finally see Jose, we see two guards walk up to his cell, an escort him out they walk into the back of the frame and he walks into an area that the camera can't see. But we know from police documents that this is Jose took a shower minutes. Later he's escorted back to his cell. This is the last time Jose is seen walking around, and it's the last time he leaves the cell where he dies. About, three hours go by surveillance footage and every fifteen minutes a guard is seen walking by says door looking in and writing something down on a clipboard hanging outside his door. These are the checks that the doctor ordered and yes, the guard does come by every fifteen minutes although he doesn't spend much more than a few seconds looking in when he walks by then at the five thirty PM check the guard doesn't just walk by this time he looks in and then pauses exam. At Five twenty seven stairs. Knocks on the door. To host cell. The guard is bending over looking inside through a cutout in the door that they used to give detainees their food, and he continues to bend down for a couple of minutes perhaps calling out his name, and now he's standing there looks unsure looks in again. Doesn't look as call now he's moving quickly to sign that he realized something must be wrong. So they've got a detainee looking in the door probably speaking Spanish. No response he comes back with a few more. They opened the door for a second and then quickly shut it again, one by one five guards and two nurses gather outside the door waiting for another guard to come with a protective shield seven minutes have gone by since the guard found him unresponsive finally, they opened the door and move in. This is where the second video comes in. It's a hand held video taken by a guard in that very moment the moment, the guards and medical staff enter hoses sell. My God to watch my God Oh my God. All right. So the first thing we see is actually just to stop frame. Of some feet. Like looking like they're running. Video is allies. To fifty three. This is going to be intense people. Did. The video starts with Jose lying face down on a green mattress. He's not moving and the first guy that goes in puts a riot shield on his back. Jose is still alive but unresponsive. Over there. Let's as clearly making choking sounds and his body is entirely limb. Somebody misdiagnosis and says, he's having a seizure. Somebody else says if you see just leave him there. He's having a seizure. Another guard grabs as arms pulls them behind his back and puts handcuffs on them. That's when the shield is removed. The medical staff takes his pulse. Meanwhile, someone gives an order to take the handcuffs off. One of the guards seems to be having a hard time finding the right key and then fitting the key in the handcuffs he struggling to get them off of Jose. Because it's taking him. So long another guy tries to help him get the hangups. Off. Almost one minute goes by before the handcuffs are removed. Out. To give you an idea of how much time a minute is. That was just twelve seconds of it. Right after the handcuffs are removed, the video stops. We've been reporting on this case for so long we've met Jose's family and we felt like we knew a lot about him and yet this is the first time that we've ever seen him. The footage is haunting and yes, it leaves us with some answers but with even more questions, it's possible that they're doing everything by the book, but there's No way around it is that looking at it? You know looking at them like spend forty, five seconds fiddle with keys on handcuffing while a man is dying is super hard to watch. You know we know what happens. We know he dies. So we just watched the last two minutes and fifty three seconds of somebody somebody being alive. It's a lot. And knowing what we know now, the people in that room didn't know but we know that will we're watching is somebody who put a sock down his mouth. So far down his throat, we can't

"This week's theme comes to us from Sean Abraham Preston and is called culture colts. Here's why Sean chose this theme. He writes. Hi. I'm Sean Abraham Preston and the theme I chose is culture. Cults Chose the theme because I'm fascinated with Howard devotion to new cultural ideals can cross over into spirituality in the worship of other people oftentimes with dark consequences. Were especially vulnerable to this when we're searching for meaning in Tumultuous Times of change. Like twenty twenty, for example. Here, are the episodes chosen by Sean for this week's theme along with short descriptions of each episode. The first one comes to us from the podcast strangers and is called the sun the Goddess Leopoldo. It's forty six minutes long. Here's the description. "Oh, I was I, was telling crystal jade this weekend. Gustov like. It was back in the day I just did not care for that show how far. Grabbed me at all and people would be like Oh my God did you see Derwin and wasn't a? Girl Melanie. I'd be like, no, I don't. Watch too the. I have the exact same experience that you didn't feel called to the back in the day and it was this shit to everybody. What are you watching it on friend? Who? To I'M GONNA try. To. Seasons one through three are on Netflix. Now, they just released them this week. But if you want to pass a season, you know watch past season three than all one through laughing nine is on Hulu I literally am exactly where you were and I caught up like maybe two or three months ago. Well, I haven't even finished the last season I really finished and I want to say why but yeah, you me all nine seasons. Yeah I rented. Worth watching because people were telling me that I shouldn't watch past season three you're listening to these people. True but you know I mean I'm fans. There's this weird thing that happens because I think the game got cancelled once or twice but like. Right. Yeah. But you can. I. Like the quality chains like it goes from like looking like a sitcom to look a soap opera and then around the area you because the latter later seasons you really don't need to go into all I say is. Not even that it's bad but really what she has Melania and Durham, we really need to go no further because so so there's a point where they're not on anymore the only people that have been on episode of the game like this is all I'll give you is Tash, Amac or anyway Wendy Raquel Robinson and her son on the show. Maliki Maliki. COOTER hooch. Kuch Kuch also, they're the only two that the only originals everybody else leaves people come and go. Got fucked up because the mile resent moving lets the money right. So you know Fatiha Walk. Let me tell you some China not to America's they've been working consistently since it since childhood. "Speaking of music just kind of staying on their brandy versus Monica on says. Amid the to me of. Is Yes we call. You Black. So whose team are you on Dustin I think Monica's team clearly clearly. Is What it is like this and like that. I'm team Brandy just because I just love brandy man. I understand you WANNA give. Third Fourth and Fifth and seven and seventy. I'd genuinely love her voice like said about her album I didn't care what she was singing about our just happy to hear her. Meant that. You so us you stay true to your word I was happy. Tinto's. Away from her, you know what? I'm saying she is the vocal terms and conditions. She is we skip it, but we have to see it. You have to recognize it. You know what I'm saying. So but but no one's going to take away from her talent Brandy Brandy is a world undeniable incredible one of a kind talent and she was a pop star Darling Teen Star on television show barbies, play you name it. You cannot take that away from her. I think that you know it's hard. It's been so much life this happened you know in between that time and now and And it's hard. You know it's a kind of. Bad and you know and re and and and resurrection. There is there you know it's just buried. So but but with Monica. What I'm saying person who industry dialing well liked by or accept masterpiece but that's a new that that just happens. You know what Dan we ain't there. Yet we get. Out It damn. YUCK versus pre show over here. What is it? But yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait for the arguments, the drinks, the food I'm going to have a little situation. I think some socially distant. People over to the house. It's a whole moment I've been waiting ever see how many times have. We said if you really WANNA get is shaking okay here why why would you not have brandy and Monica is the ultimate battle and Denver I. Believe it was Denver tweeted that shutout to just Denver on twitter my boy from La. But I think Denver tweeted like Brandy is going to be the first one to throw a little bit subtle shade. During the battle whatever it's going to be Brandy Monica being, nice you. Brandy going to be sitting up there just a Kaftan and you know. Then Break Times jingling you hear. Sorry. Why and Monica is GonNa look. Designer Shit. You know saying fashion plate she is she's been looking so good lately I mean she looks so good. Have you seen him pictures posting? I did see them I don't. Come single and a angel of hers. So I just you know I'm just here for for Monica to take what's rightfully her she got the most hits by number. Let's be clear most billboard number ones between her and Brady. Monica got three. Now you know that Bill Boyd Hits does. Not Mean. Is. More talented. I never said that because I recognized both their talent but billboard his don't mean nothing until you enter a literal competition fema songs in your catalog song by Song. So that's why it's okay to put that to the floor. For consumption because this is where that data is relevant to you. Man I love. I Love Brandy I. Love Brandy have I ever? So much it makes me cry but you know. I. Am looking forward to Monica. Sorry you know I love Brian Love. Monica to I'm not even GONNA act like she was a huge of. How old are we were album job? It don't matter what record brandy touches she can do it on her arm everyone's which time and I'm only saying that because slow clout only saying that because. Monica has worked and this isn't even a bad thing but Monica work with so many people, right like so many people we love she does the record with missy. You know what I'm saying like like they're just she did the Wrexham key Chicago there. So many people that she works with brandy usually fly solo and she can she has a solid discography of like solo records and I'm not taking anything away I just love the fact that brand me as an artist can always delivered by. I wonder why I wonder why? Me and. That's the difference between the two artists. Thank you very much. I can appreciate. That's what you need to know. I can appreciate way to fight with you in the comments Dustin can't wait. I very much appreciate. The fact that Brandy has really set up here signed her ass off on pretty much any and every song he's been on whether it's high or low, and you know Monica does her thing. Monica has so many cuts like I. Love Monica don't get it twisty. So what are you saying I'm saying what are what are you saying? It's going. To be rocket I'm GONNA be rocker. I'm GONNA be rocker. Okay. That's. That's fine. We over here everybody know what it is. I love. I love them both but clearly, I'm saying I'm I'm Monica House. So you know they'll have fun. I would be so gone over. Wrong and and like Kerry, said, we'll be playing that somebody's GonNa tweet West song go up against angel in disguise and carry said Angel in mind the one that they played on the radio so. Come on come Oh isn't that better go Look I love kids innocent and nothing to kid but I, believe Bradey eighteen, so we really can get own. Right I'm really just I. It's totally jokes. I just wanted to know it was really hard for me to choose brandy because I do love me some Monica like get it twisted like I. Love me some set it off. You know I love me all. There's anyone that doesn't. Yeah. When I think of like singing like I just think of brandy like I think of an win friend made that declaration. Brandy Song that's not important here. No. I WanNa know what's Your Bandy Song is put that on everything. Yes. I and is a beautiful song. This is in my my favorite but I always think about India singing. Levin count me out. Like this, and then I hate that you even sit there friend because I'm not trying to even call India. But like every time I think of a brand new song think of India doing and it's just her from practicing. Influences on all like I said the majority. An amazing nobody sounds like hurting me I love Indian. Right but she on style I mean you know I. Just I love her sound. Do you not think it's original brandy? She inspired a whole lot of people that you know chase them runs and do you know I'd rather listen to Charles and I'm just gonNa tell the truth. Real. Quick. Speaking. So thank you so much caroline before she goes before she goes. Thank you caroline for being here for listening for all of that dot. Thank you and I mean but I just want to say be your own people because Caroline's she made a point. We wished she said Yeah we do we get it. Yes but we have to know nothing about none of them people she told us about nor the pictures we had no none of them people's business. Point. Compare contrast on your own time. Okay. You know none about people then about what they did and been photographed in pictorials she was saying the fact that they be answered. Shane. Here for your say. And like Said Carolina See. Fine in no soundcloud streets. Please take on soundcloud Elena Bro said. So a very problematic song that I just adore and it makes me so sad. kicks by foster the children the I remember that Song Your. First of all that song is so bomb when you listen to it hurts it's similar to what I was saying about being exurbia loving the Larue Song but it's actually about mass shooting. which I don't think most people realize if you listen look it doesn't. Listen to the lyrics it's a song that's why pumped up kicks so that kids that are running through the hallways. Avoiding the mass shooter is I know listen to now that you know that's something that I found out. Which I hadn't even realized. So I guess this is one of those things where you just don't pay attention at hard, which is Kinda strange that we're really liked that will you don't pay attention to the music I know it's not good. But for me, it just keeps me a tad in ignorance of certain things and bond older people doing the same thing sometimes when they be singing the song and they all know it's dirty stuff today talking about so is like I don't know what do you draw the line? What's right what's wrong? I. Don't fucking. Okay. Is, this shows you the power of melody to that you can get carried away with a song without listen to the lyrics. "So don't fool yourself into trying to reach out to them because again like like this speaks to how much politics is changing. Not that Long Bill Clinton makes his political name with the this whole third way idea that like Republicans have long had one way. Democrats have long had another way. I'm going to find a path inbetween. Joe Biden in some ways is a man out of time in in this race. Hey like he got out. And he's talking about how he cut deals with Mitch McConnell in the Senate on the budget he calls my pants like is not a bad guy. That's not what the Democratic Party wants right now. The base of the Democratic Party HATES DONALD TRUMP AND I. I'm not just saying I'm throwing out out. That work as they do they they low donald trump. They want him gone. They do not believe he should have won in the first place They will You chapter and verse on the Popular Vote Though as always remind people. Donald Trump won under the rule fat near the current rules. Right the vote thing to me is like a okay. I know it gets a lot of tweets but shut the like. I'm just so sick of vote. Downright my view on it is like the Saint Shirt but that that was pass severence against on the saint. But it wasn't call so I like what you want me to do about it like the rules are the rules. You can change the rules. But you can't complain gene when the rules even poorly enforced like he won. The Electoral College was the way in. Is the way that we decide presence so you want to change it and make it to be a popular. That's totally fine with me. Like I'm no I don't I don't feel strongly either way but you can't beat the guy up for winning the way in which tell l.. President this is how you went. What's up with Biden? Because I looked at all the polls this morning and he's leading everything except he's not going to do well in Iowa. It looks looks but as you pointed out is still so early in this process and it was funny because I was talking with a good friend of mine from college and we were talking about Iowa and you know what I've never really quite understood is like how Iowa momentum can change things or New Hampshire. Whatever and he goes yeah but we all know guys from Iowa we love those guys like? What's what's better than somebody from Iowa? start off on the on the right path. But you know surveyed Western knock right there you go good and not just fake midwestern stock I off for God's Sakes And that's real any of these people. I've spent a lot of time there you know. I haven't I still on the checklist of of states rated city underrated cities. It's actually good food and a good like culture art scene. I know people will roll their eyes but they'd actually that's good. I know I'm glad I I wouldn't. I don't want anyone to ever roll their eyes about cultural art scene in Des Moines. I'd rather be. Let's just say that I'd rather spend the night des Moines Iowa Hartford Connecticut Sorry Hartford. I think we're allowed to say that because we we both we both. Yeah I lived there a little while I live downtown when I I yeah I would served capital the United States. WHO's amazing? I couldn't get a gatorade on a Sunday morning on the highway so unbelievable anyway byte so let me just set this up though just so people aren't following like you go through the polls. He's leading every poll which surprises people because a lot of the debates. He just just isn't good at it. I mean he just whatever you WanNa say about his politics but I really feel presentation has as much ado about this with anything. You know trump for whatever you wanna say about him he is. There's no wavering. There's so much conviction every single sentence that I think it plays the people clearly plays to people's not I think we know this but with Biden it's bad. The presentation presentation is bad. And then you look at the polls and he's double digits on everybody else except of course as you mentioned and is anybody can look up the number for him or not going to be a good start yet just quickly on trump. Because I think it's so important and you mentioned like Dow a earlier on you were saying talks like you've never heard a politician talk for I add voters told me during the two thousand sixteen election. Trump would say something like There are more people in this arena tonight. Then in all of the United States combined. You'd be like Ah I don't that doesn't compare like how could that be possible. And you would like Huckabee like you do trust him you know do you. Do you think that he's telling you the truth. Even though like it's demonstrably proven he's not and they would say yeah I mean why would he say stuff. He says the way he says if he's lying like just to your point about presentation trump's bluntness his willingness to say and do stuff that you know like Marco Rubio low-energy Jab Low Marco like people they they may not like it. They may see it as bullying but they believe that that it somehow connotes authenticity and he has benefited hugely from that. Despite I would say you know a long record of documented distortions distortions mistress demise. Okay bye yeah. He's the problem for him is. He's not great at a couple of things that really matter. There is absolutely a formative aspect to presidential politics. Especially I've sat in a million focus groups where people are talking about why they're voting for this person why they're voting for that person very rarely. There's like one person usually like a fifteen or sixteen person focus group where they'll say Joe Biden's position on still on the blank or Elizabeth warrants position on healthcare. That's why voting for her against her. There are some of those people but the people who really decide these elections. The people don't pay all that much attention. These are not hardcore partisan. She'll always say something like I don't know just My uncle said he saw him at a rally and he seems like a good guy. I mean there's so much steel perception that goes into voting for president. It's not you go to the website of Donald Trump. You check off the places you agree with him on issues. Should go the website of Elizabeth. Warren you check out the place you agree with her. You add the check marks up and you vote for the candidate who has more checks. PEOP- There are people who do that. They're just not most of them. So the problem mm for Biden is debates. Are the one time where I think whether it's you watch it live or you see a few highlights from it and fundraising those are the two big metrics tricks at this point with a field. This big that people wouldn't do polling as the other one. He's okay in that regard to your point but the debates he just doesn't and it doesn't it has not click and I don't think it will click. I think what you see is kind of what you get there. You know thing where he I mean some of these kids go on for twenty minutes. You're supposed to speak like a minute happening. Have they just keep going and going. Don't like cut off in the middle of sentences they well okay anyway. You know like wh dude what there's no like. No one's going to penalize you for taking other twenty thirty seconds so he's not great that fundraising. There's a guy in Arizona running for Senate named Mark Kelly. He's an astronaut. He's married to Gabby giffords. The Congressman Lewis shot at a rally In the two thousand almost died. He's he's he's got ten million dollars on hand for a Senate race. We've got ten million dollars spent on the race. That's a million. A million and a half more than Joe Biden former vice president. United States has for possessory so he's bad at two things that really matter one nuts and bolts thing Fundraising one performance thing to beating national polling at this point matters less than Iowa and New Hampshire and Nevada South Carolina polling. It just does. It's not a national race. Like yeah I know every state votes but they don't vote at the same time I will votes i. We know from History History Iowa Impacts New Hampshire which impacts Vada which impact South Carolina and the those for impact everything that comes after it including by the way California this year in early March. So sure you'd rather guests have polling national pulling that has your head but don't at this point in the race Iowa New Hampshire those. That's where you should look for. WHO's ahead because that will tell you? Momentum and weaned no momentum matters stuff from pass from the best. What's the what's it's the best story? You have for us because he always feel like okay you cover these people. I imagine you're not talking. Well I don't know I don't WanNA assume anything here. Is it been a big lie. told all directly from a politician off. The record is at one of their people campaign manager. What's the story? What's your go to happy hour story about Your Life and politics less twenty years? Yeah I mean the honestly I think politicians and their people live less than most people assume. I mean trump. Does it right out in the open. I think we've always thought of lying is like a thing that they do like hey. FYI You might WanNa look into this When in fact most most of them try to adhere not to that and trump just does it right out like right out in your face So I actually don't think that I think most of my experiences on the campaign trail and now I'm old and have kids so I'm not out there like you know everyday. Grinding it out in Iowa New Hampshire. We've got lots of good people who do that. Who are not me The one that I remember the most I think and it drives home the fact that you can never forget. This is probably true for sports. I I know so much more about that world but like the thing that I always try to remind people about politics is it's super personal. We have a tendency to assume that these people could you see on a stage or you see them in an ad that they're not regular normal people they don't have feelings you know they're just they're like politicians like a different breed. It's like an Avatar. You know what I mean like. They're not human. They're like different species. I met a debate in two thousand and four. Got Him so old. If you think those two thousand four might have been two thousand eight John Edwards who you know all the stuff that goes with John Lewis former North Carolina senator he. They've just debated I walk out onto the stage. I'm talking like staffer and his wife The late Elizabeth Edwards. She passed away a few years ago. She comes up to me and she's like I've never met her before she comes up to me and she's like why did you write that about John and I'm like I don't know what I mean. I wanted to say like. Hey I write a lot of things. 'cause I do right all right a lot to do. It's the Kenner Olympic it's the candidate's wife so I'm like you know what in particular I had mentioned mentioned in a parenthetical that he was fading or something I mean it wasn't it wasn't like John Edwards. This is before all the stuff about John Edwards gave up. This is just when he was it was. Oh wait this is when he's running. It's Obama him and Clinton there's a free be candidates that there had been any bocce and she didn't like something I wrote and she was like Berry Berry upset because she thought that it did not accurately portray her husband as a person and I think that I it the reason I say that is tell that story is I think that we always forget. These people are human when they are making.

So how do you cook rice? And we'll what is your basic method with the knuckles in the water. The basic method is that you rinse the rice as you would you know, whenever you make rice. And then you you cover the rice with enough water. And so if you put your hand, very flat on top of the rice the water should come right up to your knuckles. Now, if you have really really giant hands. It will not work. But if you have relatively normal hands. It does work it does work and also it sort of relies on also cooking based on intuition. And and just really using your senses to know when something is done when something is is done right soil marinated, seven-minute eggs talk about this. I mean, I think last night was seven hundred twenty seven minutes. So I mean, that's. Seven-minute power play in a five minute tower. Piranesi kill off and scored one in Nashville to tonight. So I mean, it's a long long long time to kill him after killers have been doing a great job, you know, blocking shots in the. No getting pucks out. And I think our kills been greatest longtime to kill him a chance. Team. So unfortunate. L things happening. Those fast not really sure what the head. I mean, obviously there estimated decision. "You can't find it. I need to go in a better direction. I think so, but but to see the meditation doesn't cure you. Lead you to guard. Say that meditation that I teach or show you teaches us to be so and and disconnect from your brain, the soul must be disconnected. In some way. So that because as long as you're angry, you're so is is entangled with your brain. And so you're part animal and park human. But but the more nicer, you are the worse. A woman is because she sees your weakness and she wants to see a real strength. That's what a woman wants gentle strength, gentle strength can only come from the law in you. Jesus nature. It's no has no emotion. If you have emotion, you can be manipulated. But you can't you can't make me upset because if you try to upset me you'll get upset trying to upset me. And I win. Meaning I don't get upset. I don't pay. I'm not going to get upset because I know if I get it set. I belong to the person who accepts me. Whether it's pseudo good or evil bad. Pseudo. Good is just as bad as pseudo back at both wrong. You're going to die from this. You gotta get rid of the extension of your mother. You're not a man if you extension of your mother. She she must be the extension of you. And you must be extension of the crater be still and know be still the secret of the seven minute meditation is to bring you to that. But not to teach you any Chris any Christianity or any kind of religion. All I want you to disconnect. Meditation seven-minute station is simply causing you soul. Entangled with the brain. So that everything on the outside will control you make you crazy and drive into you all the worst things. And spike, you struggle, which never help you at all and compound every problem ever may. I say. I'm too much thought into it all and yes. What you need is is to be still and the way it'd be still is. Teaching you. I don't want you to do anything or toll of myself. I can do nothing you can do nothing and you have to realize it of yourself, you could nothing and so you wait for something. And so you must know that you this extension of a person because she's difficult. She's difficult Trump sets when you upset she owns you. And all the hell that's ever loss comes through me eve through all the generations. Women are waiting for a man that Samak and man who sets. All lead to subtle subtle feelings of fear anxiety. Exactly, you cannot fix it yourself. You cannot fix yourself. You didn't make yourself. God created the first man, and you are the extension of that upside down meaning eve controls men and then go to women for love. And so that's a big mistake. But men love it. And they they think that love is last don't they don't realize that love is last. Now there is quite right way to have sex as a right way to deal with your children. But it must not be any secret emotion. Secret or. Outs, right emotion. Children can see it. Your wife concede that you a weak person. You're an appeaser you are in a piece of two women that is going to.
