"We talked about a lot of different topics on income how last segment that was awesome. But one of the things that I loved was was even in the beginning of it. It's really talking about how it's not getting another job. Right. A lot of times. We'll set goals were. Hey, I want to make a little more money. I want to do this. I wanna do that. But that boils down to what we can't spend more time trying to do that otherwise that would take away usually from the reward. We're trying to get to it ends up being a little counterproductive. But one of the things that's so much fun about the financial markets one of the things that can be so rewarding about the financial markets is you're really not creating another full time job, but it is an area where you can really start to create that full-time life. And I know we want to spend a little bit of time on retirement accounts here in this segment, which is awesome. Because that is one of the growing growing concerns, especially with how higher markets are. And I know a little while ago, we had just an influx of questions on what do we do the market's at all-time highs, and we're not that far away from those. All time highs again, and we had some big drops, and we've had some big rallies backup and that just gets us right next to that ceiling. I was asking everybody, you know, after the market rallies really higher. We closer to the top or closer to the bottom. Every time the market goes up. We're closer to the top of people with retirement accounts, really all over the world or are starting to get scared again starting to get petrified that as the market goes down. They're going to take a big substantial hit inside of their retirement or whether you're just tuning in. Maybe your first time listener, maybe you've been with us for the whole show get excited. The best is yet to come. And Larry a lot of times a few of the topics that come up when I'm talking with our students, and sometimes it's it's in class or via social media, but the two things when it comes to retirement accounts. I think that I'm hearing more and more outside of just the concern for how high the markets are our number one people don't feel like they have enough to retire. And number two, those that feel like they do they don't know how to protect it and keep it growing what some of the golden nuggets. I guess you can shower on us for for those type of questions. Well, this two great camps of thought with this the first one let me address her what if you're somebody that has a lot of money you've spent? A lot of time collecting it. And a lot of students come to us because all they want to understand is how can I protect my money from all these fees and commissions that their brokers are going to charge them. That's a fantastic question. In fact, I'll give you a scenario Ryan, Jack Bogle actually came out with a study and said had you got ahead and just basically invested ten thousand dollars initially over a fifty year period, and it made about ten percent rate of return a year after that fifty year period, you have one point one seven million dollars in the Bank. Now when you add the fees that the brokerage firms are Mitchell fund companies are going to charge to you against that. What's astounding is the fact that with those fees? They're not taking it year over year. They're taking it off the total amount of the account at that time. So that same fifty year period, you're gonna wind up giving up seven hundred thousand dollars of your one point one seven million dollars. Now, imagine you're at retirement right now, and you basically have nowhere to go. In fact, we have a student who basically fired his broker recently because he. He was in that camp. He had a lot of money to protect and he couldn't understand why was giving a couple of hundred thousand dollars to his broker every year that wasn't doing very much for them. Now, the second camp are those of you out there that are riding a 4._0._1._K, and that really is your retirement and for those students what we do is. We help them understand have you really been saving enough in the retirement fund part of your company's plan or maybe yourself, directing your own IRA, many people think they're going to be fine because they're being conservative and told that their whole lives were in reality. You might have to be more aggressive because she started off later in life. The important thing is you need to get yourself educated. You don't wanna wind up his either person at age sixty seven thinking you have all this time. Now ahead of you to retire. And you've got to keep working as you like to say, no one wants to spend what Ryan their golden years at the golden arches. And if you go to any one of these retail facilities now, you're going to see more and more older Americans. Not because they want to go back to work because they have to go back to work, and that's just that's just a shame. Yeah. Absolutely. It takes me back to. I used to do this pop quiz, and one of my classes and one of the questions was true or false. We should give away the vast majority of our returns and go for it. I'm going to say. That was that was by far the landslide victory whenever I would ask that question. But the thing the thing that we the most people don't realize as exactly what you were just illustrating is if even if we have a two two and a half percent annual fee that they take out of the mutual fund over time that can make a negative impact of about eighty percent over the lifetime of an investor rather than having the one point seven million all of a sudden, you have four hundred thousand it can make such a dramatic impact. But we don't think about it because it's just two percent. Well, when you think about it this way, let's take two thousand seventeen let's say you made ten percent. Well, if they take two percent that means you net or you get to keep eighty percent. Well, then we move into two thousand eighteen zero percent return. Are we still going to have to pay them? Even if we don't make money. Absolutely. So zero percent return now becomes a negative two percent return. Remember, this is on our holdings right now. Let's say two thousand nineteen I don't think it's too far fetched to say what if it's a negative ten percent year. One side of those mutual funds where there's an average of two and a half percent. We're keeping it small. We're saying two percent. So now the Senate instead of a negative ten. Because of the fees. They're actually a negative twelve. But one of the things that hopefully, you can picture in your mind is that it accelerates the losses and it slows the growth of our of our accounts. And it's one of the reasons why most retirement accounts are so far behind and it's because they're taking it right off the top. Now, just a second. You're gonna have a chance to win a set of passes to one of these half day classes, if you're driving. Now's a good time to pull over included with your passes is going to be a professional insiders kit. "Maximize my wealth and kind of develop an investment strategy for the long term here. Kind of retire earlier earlier than I should okay. So right now the cases I have no debt, I'm Christine for saving. I should say twenty two percent of my income, and that's going into a 4._0._1._K a savings account, and then investment portfolio. Mhm? I guess what? I'm wondering is out of those three options, which do you think I should put the most eggs in that basket? I guess okay. And how old are you twenty three twenty three. And what is your household income? Forty thousand. Okay. And your home is paid for. Yes. Rent you rent? Okay. Yes. All right. And you make forty thousand dollars a year and you're saving twenty two percent of your income. Okay. All right. Well, the. The equation changes after you have a net worth of five to seven million dollars. But the first five to seven million dollars the equation is pretty well dialed in we just finished the largest study of millionare's ever done a million dollar net worth is what that is. Okay. And in other words, that's the first stage of becoming what we would call wealthy. It's not Uber rich, but it's wealthy. And there's about twelve million millionaires in America. I'm a net worth is what you own minus. What you oh, we found in the wealth building side of the millionaire equation, as we studied ten thousand of them almost all of them like the numbers, depending on which thing we were measuring or anywhere from eighty ninety five percent of them fell in this category. They paid off their home in around ten point two years, and they invested steadily in 4._0._1._K's and Roth IRA's in good growth, stock mutual funds. They stayed away from get rich quick anything, and they didn't borrow money. Hardly at all. They almost never carry a credit card, and if they do they almost never carry a balance on it. They haven't borrowed money on a car in twenty or thirty years on average when we asked them what their largest mistake they ever made was they should buy a brand new car and putting it on payments and that was back in their twenties. And they got over that. And so what we can learn from them the first stage to millionaire, and you could be there with your income. You could be there the one to two million dollar net worth probably by the time. You're thirty five probably twelve fourteen years because you're a very focused and intentional young, man. You could have that first million now the equation changes when you get up above five to seven million how people build wealth or they go to Uber wealthy. It's different. Okay. But the first, and let's say let's say I'm talking to someone on the millionaire theme. Our and I asked them what their money's invested in. They say I've got a net worth of a million and a half. It often sounds like I've got a five hundred thousand dollar houses paid for and I got a million dollars in my 4._0._1._K. And so I'm worth a million and a half, and that's really kind of two elements to their wealth. Sometimes they'll have a hundred thousand dollars in cash or sometimes they'll have a little stock or a little bit of an investment for folio. But that really wasn't how they made it. They made it by buying a home and getting it paid off early way early. And by steadily constantly investing in those things. So that's what I would advise you do based on that study based on the results of that study that if I were twenty three I would do that. And so. That tells us in your situation. I wanna make sure you're putting fifteen percent not twenty two percent of your income into your retirement plans. And then I'm going to start saving up aggressively to buy a home in a good neighbourhood. Were you to get married later? You would discover you've bought the wrong home, and we'll get to move. But. But anyway. Yeah. Yeah. So, but you can at least get started. And and then moved to another property, and then, you know, making that having that paid off as soon as possible and steadily during that time putting fifteen percent of your income away will lead you to thirty five to thirty seven year old one to two million dollar net worth. Now, we did not do anything and increasing your income during those years in. So honestly, if you go fifteen years without getting a raise you'd be called a loser. So most everyone's income goes up over time. Okay. So, but we, you know, we can just take the linear projection without the exponential projection. And and know that we can get you there, which that helps us know that you can get there. So hey, hold on. I'm gonna send you a copy of Chris Hogan's book everyday millionaires because it outlines some of the findings of the study. It also gets you lots of inspiration. It is not a nerd white paper. If you're looking for an academic white paper on the study, it is not that it's not full of charts. And. Graphs. That's not what it is. There's like twenty two or thirty two statistics in the book on the millionaires. That's what it is. And then we talk about the millionaires, and we tell stories about the millionaires, and we show you that you can do it. So that's what this book is. And it's a number one bestseller. So hold on. We'll send you a copy of that as our gift to you. Open phones at triple eight eight to five five to five Elijah is in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Hey elijah. How are you? "Eight almost eight point seven million dollars against the cap in two thousand nineteen by doing things this way, you get him for two years, you save yourselves almost nine million dollars seems like a win win Philip gets two more years. He still getting the same money. He would have been getting in twenty nine thousand nine just spread out over the life of the deal team gets cap relief. Basically everybody wins and they get to put hopefully put more talent around him to help get over the hump next year. So that's what I would do. There's probably a pretty good chance. The chargers approach something like this. And I think something gets done with Philip because he's always been willing to make these kinds of concessions for the team when he has to to to bring more talented. Yeah. That's actually my one and only restructure same exact thing you'd tack on two more years. I guess the only thing that I would add is after the twenty twenty season. I would give myself a Ripcord just in case, you know, Philip rivers is getting up there. And he's looks. He's ready to go in two thousand nineteen twenty twenty hopefully doesn't fall apart. But if the wheels come off, you know, he's at that age where it could just fall off a cliff and fall fast. So it'd be nice to get that little Ripcord to let's go did it and rivers current contract. So it'd be nice covered. Just in case. That's the only thing I would add, and that's a little bit more specific than just you know, pro renting bonuses and everything you're talking about. So I would do the same exact thing. And you know, this gives to let's go the opera. We're talking about to make some moves. I mean, this might be the season if not this season next season, we're less got push ships in he's got to start making that run. I mean, there's if you're talking about a window where the charters have the Super Bowl window. They have a window right now as small as it could be because rivers is old age. Now that he's got to put some more talent around him, and they have got to push for that Super Bowl run. So to give them almost nine million dollars this year to play around with it gives to Lasco extra cash to make some power moves. We'll talk about some cuts that will free up some more cash. But yeah, I think adding on a couple more years rivers is a big deal before he gets the free agency. And it takes care of business gives them extra money. Now gives them some time to put some players around rivers while they still can. So that's the restructure. I would do as well. What's your second? Restructure? My second restructure is something kind of similar with Russell. Oh kuhn. Not a huge restructure, not a big change. But you know, he's got two years left on his contract. What I would do. And this is kind of a loophole. The teams have been using for the last few years is I would go to him and I would pitch. Converting four million dollars in his base salary for twenty nineteen into a signing bonus. What that does is it basically wipes out the existing contract creates a new two year contract and its place and the four million dollars that you convert to a bonus money winds up being pro rated over the two years. So while you're taking four million dollars off of his twenty nine hundred salary. What you're really doing is. You are saving yourself two million dollars in twenty nineteen via the probation. So Kuhn is do a thirteen million dollar based salary and twenty nineteen. So if you convert four million of that too bonus on a new quote unquote, new restructure deal. He want you wind up reducing his his base pay to eleven million dollars, and you would wind up producing his cap number from just under sixteen million dollars to just under fourteen million dollars and save the team two million. Hello, I'm Spencer hall from Espy nation, and I wanna tell you about my new show. It seems mart. It's same smart as a show about. People doing things that for some reason or another seem smart at the time. Those things might include doing a little cocaine and driving a bike up mountain or I don't know maybe racing one hundred miles per hour across the country in the middle of the night with no one's permission or even stealing.

"Presentation aids labels. They are a nine hundred seven million dollar company. So they're a micro cap company. They've been around a long time. They always have made my they've been pretty good about making money in two thousand seventeen they may nineteen this year two thousand eighteen we still haven't got the numbers him, but they're gonna make two cents less dollars seventeen this year. And next year. There's supposed to make a dollar thirty per share. Now, they do have a lot of debt. That is turn. It's an eight dollars three cents stock, and they're gonna make a dollar thirty per share. So that tells you the P is what seven or eight. Okay. Attorney was eighteen percent. The only little black market have here is they do have quite a bit of debt. And I'm not sure why that something you would have to look into and find out. Why are they carrying was it? Did they buy something buy competitor? What happened there, and I don't like that the sales in the most recent quarter went down five percent and every court before that they were always going up. So what are they able to turn that around? I'd like to see it turn around there. Now, the stock is Paul thirteen dollars fifty cents all the way down to six dollars and fifty said excuse me. And now it's recovered to eight dollars and eighty three cents just like the market bottom. And now it's been coming up. It has gone up every day. For the month. January only one day did not go up put them all all eighteen days. All all trading days. It's kind of interesting..
