Remembering 9/11, 20 Years Later

"At each american airlines flight seventy seven took off from dulles international airport outside of washington. Dc the boeing. Seven fifty seven was headed to los angeles like the other two flights. Sarah just talked about with sixty four people on board to pilots four flight attendants fifty eight passengers including three elementary school. Children selected for a trip hosted by national geographic. All five of these hijackers were flagged by security for extra scrutiny for one reason or another including that one of them didn't have a photo. Id and agents found them to be suspicious. The only consequence of being flagged for this extra scrutiny ended up being that they're checked bags were held off the plane until it was confirmed that they had boarded three of the hijackers set off metal detectors and had extra screening before boarding the plane. The screeners didn't resolve. What set off the alarms and allowed the hijackers to board the plane anyway and this seems unthinkable today and the reason that it seems unthinkable today is because we have all been flying in recent years in a post nine eleven world and i think this is one moment to kind of flag as a way in which our our everyday lives substantially changed after nine eleven when you read about the way security was conducted. Then it's just unimaginable compared to what we do now. The five hijackers boarded the plane at seven. Fifty a m two of them set in coach in three and first class. The plane was scheduled to depart at eight ten took off at eight twenty and reached its cruising altitude at eight forty six.

Fresh update on "seven fifty w" discussed on Don't Keep Your Day Job

"In the span of sixty days. So how much would you get for that ad. There's people getting this calling. i'm impressed. It's two hundred and fifty dollars. But let's check. Check this out so on my podcasts. This is sometimes at this point. It's annoying. I have to say how many ads we have calling. You know that. sometimes. I find this frustrating. We get about four ads at episode. Okay let's say you had three ads per episode. And let's say you only did one episode a week if you did th- riyadh's times two hundred fifty dollars. Who knows how much that is. Who can do the math now if you did one show week okay. Now i've been. I'm a crazy. I i started doing one show week that i did two shows a week for three years and then only this year i started doing five shows a week but like i we now cut back to to sunni did but still even. When i was doing five shows a week i wanted some of those shows to be clean still only sold ads in into the episodes a week. I never was allowing us to sell ads across every episodes too much too many ads for me for me so if you had three odds and you only did one episode a week three times three times to fifty is yes you guys can do. You can count. i'm so proud. This is a good class. Seven hundred fifty now. Now if you did one podcast with three adds a week. How much money would you make a month to do this. Guess who can no seven fifty times for ray you one episode week. So it's about three thousand dollars. So can you get advertisers. The answer is yes if you do some research. You're gonna find out that for advertisers to give you two hundred fifty dollars to talk about raw fishes to talk about. Like i said casper blue apron. Worby parker this is so little money for them. And here's what it is. The roi the return on investment that they see from micro influencers. I'm talking somebody assume of alling. They see that the return on investment is off the chart what they also see. Is that where they used to spend money. Tv advertising. they're our ally is down in the most unprecedented way. Because why what do people do now.

Raising Rivers as a Bluff

"Theme is Bluffing rivers raising rivers as a bluff. Like we've done a bunch of episodes those but those most exciting hands generally so that's why we do so. This had opened with me. Cut off with ace. Ten of spades. this is we are four handed playing five head. No limit cash I open the slogan foale. Three butts and the big blindfolds gonna be flagging a senator spades alday versus three but from blinds from the cutoff. So i call. Yeah this three sizing tell me about the sizing. It's like a little looks a little weird. But i don't really open to your size so this is like pretty close to this is that they should be through bettering to versus the two point. Two five i think like i don't know if you want to scale it like exactly. It would be like close to one hundred dollars but this is just i dunno. It's half the half a big wide less than that. So i think this is is is really. Yeah i would just go like one hundred ish but i mean whatever. They're they're dialing it back like point two five big blinds for this. I feel like they're using like some. Scroll like there's just lazily just kind of like scrolling and like okay ninety seven fifty. That's close maybe. I don't know. I i don't know if that's the case or not because i mean seems like there'd be more precise than that at there's some people like there's some people who three that and i can tell. Just click like they just click. The pop feel like three position that that number is exactly. What like see ladies and gentlemen if you've listened to deep patrick leonard episode of why he thought he could make a run at high stakes poker. That whole story. I suggest you listen to the podcasts. And because that's just a hilarious story. And this is kind of alludes to that that i guess we should never underestimate the laziness of poker players and even the highest of stakes maybe even especially the highest stakes poker players. Why did you say that. Why especially just. Because like i think the i i just think that the highest of stakes poker players can get a little lazy. They can't get lackadaisical they can you know get less hungary. They can just be playing to make money every single month. Then just get kind of distracted not zone and whatever i mean like you said to be fair ninety seven fifty one hundred one. Those are all perfectly fine through bet sizes. So they are they are so we get this gorgeous flop of five of hearts in eight of clubs and a nine of spades and fabulous check-check. Let's start there to check on the flop your check back but do you think about banning the flop stabbing the flop checking back stabbing the stabbing these like low and middling flops With range if you wanted to facing check is probably fine I think with a hand. That's worse than as hype certainly Be way more inclined to stop. But when i block villain from having like eisai. Hans himself I think that i am going to be ahead of white. A large portion of villains Range at that. I if i stop the swap with this sort of hand i'm really just getting mostly worshipful I'm a little skeptical though like. I'm i'm skeptical. That you're gonna always realize what year even a high percentage of the time realize equity on a variety of different run out like you are being king queen but like you know. Are you always going to realize equity and just call down on blank run outs. Well i mean if you wanna see what i could prove it to the fans. If you're on a you prove something. I don't know don't know that you prove you're gonna call down but we prove very talks about the theme of the episode so yeah and then also like especially with this eight ten of spades with like eight and nine with a spade on board. It's like it's way more painful to get check raised off of this. I think when you have like a ton of diamonds for example like there's equity more equity tibi realized on this particular board with stem space. So i if. I bet the swap and get check raised. I'd be way sadder than if i had said of. Diamonds are like king queen. Whatever and got chuck

"Title of our stream is peace five. I'm the fastest now. The reason for that being one. It's kind of cool. Goes to the captain phillips on the captain. Now mean i if i could add like memes to a title would we can't but also it's because it is technically speaking as of four months in two to its release or whatever it's been it's been about four months. It is the fastest selling console in us. History in total dollars sold so Not necessarily fastest unit sales right fastest dollar sales. Yeah which in. This is sort of tongue in cheek. And i'm sort of holding my breath. Because i made the prediction at this series s would be the best selling console because the series is is cheaper series as may have sold more more actually use. It doesn't sell as much doesn't sell for as much money. That's why know. I'm just trying to save my take on that i'll also sailor. How also say i kind of assist in your take maybe With shortage people were getting their hands on. They could like colin i. We're only going to buy just council and that's it but we ended up getting a bundle so that normal console just like five hundred bucks. We ended up getting like seven fifty dollar bundle because they're going like hotcakes. When i was able to get something to my cock fuck beginning on buying. I'll give a shit. I want it so some people who might not usually spend that much money on console just gobbled up because they're so fast so they say how much money spent on

Budgeting Expenses While Living on The Road with Renewable Energy Worker Clayton

"Clayton. Welcome to the bigger targets. Many podcast. i'm so excited to have you today. Thanks guys. I'm really excited to be here. Appreciate all your advice. Throughout allentown cast stones awesome. Well thanks for listening. So clayton is a twenty six year old renewable energy worker living in the midwest and looking for some suggestions on financial planning in general so that he can retire early and lead his best life clinton. Why don't you walk us through your income and debts absolutely so right now. Actually our income just got cut by about forty percent girlfriend. Travels with me for work and she. Unbeknownst us lost her physician so lost forty percent of our income. I'm sitting at a salary for diem and a trailer allowance and then some rental income from a rental property that we have totalling about seven grand a month. Can you give us some background on that. So you say salary per diem and camper each just give us enough background in your job to understand why you have predicament camper allowance. Sure yes so. With the renewable energy side. We travel all over the country so ben everywhere from north dakota colorado oregon iowa and now down in texas so pretty gives me some money in basically not sleeping my own bed. Money right and then Trailer allowance. i live in a fifth wheel while on the road so kind of a unique living situation and they give me allowance for that too. Because there's obviously expenses that come with pulling a trailer and the wear and tear on the tyres and all that kind of thing so companies generous enough to give us allowances for those kind of things and yeah ok. Great eddie other sources of income besides the salary camper allowance pretty yup so we do have a rental property. that were satirized. Well we are at home so kind of one of those ideals to were living on the road but we have a home base and house hacking that home base. So that's bringing in about fifteen hundred a month for us right now and it's gonna go up hopefully the next month or two. Once we finished some slight remodels and get another room rented so it should go up to about two thousand dollars fantastic. Yeah expense side of things fixed expenses. Obviously we got the mortgage. We do have a car loan and then luckily enough again with the company. I worked for their great and they cover a lot of expenses on the road so the living allowance. The lot rent recover my lower end from camper all that kind of stuff. So it's pretty limited to mainly just jim internet's phone bills and then food things like that. So the picture informant. My head is a really strong financial position. We talked about a seven thousand dollars in income. Let's exclude the house act. We got about fifty five hundred dollars a month in income and are you kind of abbreviating that to after tax dollars. Yes yeah that's all after tax. Okay great so you got about fifty five hundred and after tax dollars plus we got income from your house hack how much is your mortgage mortgage is about twelve hundred dollars a month principal interests. I thank is around seven fifty. Our insurance is actually a little bit higher because the house situation is kind of odd. An taxes are actually relatively low about thirteen hundred a year. So awesome so even with maintenance. You're probably sitting at no more than fifteen hundred dollars. Total housing costs. What are your utilities. You think as hard to us for now just because we do live on the road and it's relatively low because we're one twice a month so i don't know maybe hundred dollars okay. So you're housing is free for all intents and purposes through the house hack. Is that right correct. Yep awesome love it. How about transportation is that also largely free because of the allowance for the camper and that type of stuff. That's another benefit as Transportation's pretty much free. I gotta company truck and again the company. I work for their so generous to let me use that personal time to you which is awesome. We do have a vehicle for my girlfriend and we do have a debt on that as well and believer sitting at eighty five hundred or so see if a balance of eighty five hundred on that in cash payment associated with it okay. What would you kind of estimate your total expenses to be housing. We've got to close zero. What would you say outside of housing. Your monthly expenses are unrelated to work man. I'd say twenty five hundred ish maybe a month and that's going to be broken out between that car payment in a gym and entertainment this types of things normal year when it's not twenty twenty. We tended to spend a little bit more than now. It's a little bit less but yeah okay great. So what i'm seeing. Here is an ability to accumulate at least fifteen hundred to two thousand dollars a month in cash flow on an ongoing basis. Is that right yes awesome and then when you look at your financial position do you feel that. The opportunities are going to be on the income side on the expense side or on the capital allocations piece in terms of managing the money. You're accumulating i say right now are sitting pretty good as far as the income. I feel pretty solid with the income side of things granted like i said we did lose some of that coming in but i believe there is work to do on our expense side of things. 'cause i don't accurately track it. Everything i do is rough estimates. So i know what my phone is monthly. I know what the car payment is monthly but the food and all that stuff who knows i mean sometimes we go out and have fun and go out to local italian restaurant or whatever it is so perfect so i think we're gonna have a phone with this because your expense the way you've just described your situation. We don't housing expense. And i see a path forward here. Where if for example if your path that over the next year to you don't have to pay for housing and you don't have to pay for vehicle at least in the short run. I mean you get to that point and you have a thousand dollars per month is what i understand per diem. Is that right. Roughly a thirty six days. So depending on when i'm work that worked when i'm at home so about thousand

Why We Think We Need to Hire 2 More Salespeople

Why We Think We Need to Hire 2 More Salespeople

"Why we think we need to hire two more sales people in twenty twenty one americans olsen and i'm days join us on our journey to building a one hundred million dollars company. What's happening it's eric. J olson kevin. And i have concluded that we need to more sales people at array digital in twenty twenty one to achieve our revenue goals for the year. So let me give you a little bit of background here. We ended the year with about two point. Three five million dollars annual recurring revenue. We want to get up to three point five million of annual recurring revenue by the end of twenty twenty one which is only about eleven months away and by the way if you start taking out things like two or three weeks for the holidays. It's more like ten months away. It's amazing how quickly you lose time throughout the year but we didn't analysis and what we concluded was that every single month at a rate digital our overall monthly recurring revenue increases by about two thousand seven hundred fifty dollars every month. So we sign on more deals than that but we lose. Some class may have lost. Some old classes have been with us for several years. In general on average about twenty seven fifty and what that meant to us was that if nothing else changed right now we would go from two point. Three million to about two point seven million by the end of the year. If we didn't do anything different now also. We have recently hired a second salesperson. Joe if joe doesn't those numbers the two point three two point seven that doesn't factor joe because he's just us recently started to actually sell after a period of training and having a couple of small deals if he gets up to quota the way we expect him to with a bunch of factors filled in he'll bring in about another five hundred thousand dollars of annual recurring revenue. That takes us from two point seven to about three point two. We are sort of our three point five million dollar annual recurring revenue goal. How do we go about filling that. Well there's a couple of ways we do it one is. We could just hope for the best. We did that last year and it didn't work so hoping for the best is not a great solution to this problem to. We try to run a ton of ads and get inbound traffic while running. Ads has never really produced. Anything russ which is interesting. Because we're digital marketing agency. We run on is for our clients. Most of our clients are be to see whereas we are b. two b. and we have an arguably complex and somewhat long sales process is a lot of explaining that has to happen in. A lot of reviewing auditing or whatnot is not just like buying something on amazon where you just click and and you're done. This is a much more significant commitment. That people are making on as have never really worked for us as a b. two b. company ourselves. The other way is we could market ourselves to this doubt. Marketing is what we have historically done to bring in new business. You know we do podcast. We do lunch time. Lives we do a whole bunch of in person networking events which may not come back for another year because of covid but we do a ton of marketing and brand awareness. There's really yes we could do more. Of course. it could always do more of that but we do a ton of that already. What we need to do is you know. That's an option. But it's not a great option. So you know what are already listed are not wonderful options hoping for the best advertising away out or marketing your way out the fourth option really is hire more salespeople so we concluded that's probably the best way to get this additional revenue that we want imagine that hiring people to get more revenue. Yeah that's the way business works so we want to hire at least one salesperson. We decided to hire to too because like there's a really good chance that one of them won't work out so well we want to do is bring on a couple of people at once. Train them both at the same time. Look if we hope for the best with these two people will far exceed our sales goal right if both of them are just amazing then We'll be way past three point five by the end of the year. But you know history shows that not every salesperson or even every person in the company works out. Well we don't want to do is just hire one and bank. All of our hose injuries for this resolution and getting up to this revenue goal on that one additional higher and then it just doesn't work out for some reason so we're going to hire to was basically music the backup plan so we have a job ad out on envied right now. We'll probably run it as a linked in job at as well but if you are a sales person anywhere in the united states preferably near the east coast just to align with the rest of the team's time zones. Then i'd love to hear from you if you would go

Tesla reports 499,550 vehicle deliveries for 2020, slightly missing target

"Was so close. They were so close to hitting five hundred thousand vehicles delivered for the year. They have reported will to skip right to the bottom here. Total deliveries twenty twenty four hundred ninety nine thousand five hundred and fifty so they were just four hundred fifty vehicles short of hitting their original guidance of five hundred thousand vehicles produced and delivered of course on the production line easily exceeded that w came in five hundred nine thousand seven hundred and thirty seven vehicles produced so where tussle fell short. They needed to deliver one hundred. Eighty one thousand and twenty vehicles delivered. One hundred eighty thousand five hundred and seventy vehicles that was eighteen thousand nine hundred twenty s and x one hundred and sixty one thousand six hundred and fifty model three motto. Why combined who look at production there we can see monologue x. Relatively low but again we did have that final week of the quarter. Shut down for retooling possibly refresh so they produced just over sixteen thousand model s an ex in the quarter well below their production capacity of ninety thousand three quarters what they stated which would be earned per year is what they stated which would be twenty thousand five hundred per quarter And then for model three and why they produced just over one hundred sixty three thousand one sixty three six sixty so totally production was one seventy nine seven fifty seven with the delivery again being just over one hundred. Eighty thousand blessing note on this portion of the report is that tesla does. I'm not sure if you will be able to see it here. But our delivery count should be viewed as slightly conservative as we only counted car delivered if it is transferred to the customer and all paperwork is correct. Final numbers could vary by up to half a percent or more.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Posts Benchmark Result in Passmark

"Top story and be Verizon 5 5600 ex-post Benchmark results in PassMark, 10% above all in Sol processors the new processor had impressive performance in the past or single thread Benchmark. It was forty-seven percent faster than its predecessor has be all Intel chips. The processor has a base clock of 3.5 gigahertz and boosts up to 4.6 gigahertz and retails for $299. The score was 3945 points the previous processors the ryzen 5 2600x off scored twenty-six hundred seventy-seven points and the rise in five thirty six hundred XT score 2832 points. We've yet to see benchmarks from the new Rising seven fifty-eight hundred ex or Thursday nine fifty nine hundred XT or two fifty nine fifty ex, but they will of course have significantly better scores than what the 5600 access May is so far. We've got good news on the GPU front to which will discuss dead. In the gaming news. Yeah, this processor Benchmark. It's really exciting stuff because AMD they had the plague catch up with Intel for some time past few years with the rise and launchers have been really good. Okay before Rising came out AMD was kind of lagging behind for years on the CPU front. Unfortunately and the past few years have come out was rising and they've come out with some amazing stuff. They were still a little behind until as far as performance goes, but they were definitely catching up and now it looks like at least it's single thread performance here on the new CPUs are coming out. Yeah, they're exceeding until they're even exceeded their own stuff. But beyond what I would have thought you know, now what are these stores based off of exactly their benchmark scores? This is the single threaded Performance Off. It's kind of hard to explain to someone who might not be quite as tech-savvy. Okay, but it's just a way that process is certain renderings or whatnot. Like what's the scale? Like, what's the highest she that I don't think there is a highest you just get more and more and more points God's it. Yeah, that's like it's like the Dave Meltzer scoring system. I guess except has a supposed to be five stars and several wrestlers have broken the Yankees, but I like I think you've reviewed like in a store match couple years ago something like that. All right. Well, let's start a wrestling podcast some time and as much as we're talking about wrestling cuz this is a ticket. I don't know if you're free time, right? That's all right, ma'am. But yeah, so I'm really excited about these rides and see if he is a competition is definitely a good thing and it's great to see AMD really competing with Intel on Thursday. They're competing with Nvidia 2 and we're going to get into that in the gaming news. That's really excited stuff too. Now. Do you think these new processes will give them an advantage as far as like encryption is concerned with encryption. I really don't know but I know we do have a a little vulnerability with the Intel CPUs. I want you tell us about that sure researchers extract a secret key used to encrypt until CPU code a secret key that encrypts updates to a number of Intel CPUs has been extracted bowing third parties to decrypt the microcode updates until provides to fix security vulnerabilities and other bugs. It's possible to update Intel chips with off the microcode using the secret key. There's no way to effectively eliminate the vulnerability but until has said the issue is not serious for customers wage. As an attacker would require physical access to the machine

As I have never done a Roman episode either I don't know why I'm up here on my high horse but anyway. Thank you for this I'm so excited. Please Hannah we get away. All right well, the Roman empire was the Post Republican period of ancient Rome the generally accepted dates of the Roman Empire from twenty seven BC to four, seventy, six, eighty although I'll talk about some of the differing opinions about the exact dates. Later, I WANNA start off by laying some of the groundwork of how room operated before we get into the Roman Empire itself. This city and Kingdom of Rome was mythological founded around seven hundred and fifty BC with seven fifty three BC being the most commonly accepted date. It was founded by Romulus the city's namesake and his brother Ramos who are nursed by she will after being abandoned on the banks of the river. Tiber. ROMULUS ended up killing his brother during a dispute over which the seven hills to build the new city on and became the first. King of Rome who? Start. Yeah, just you know as you do murder brother side, you want to build your city on late normal things normal Italian things I would say. Yeah. That's. That's true. So. The Roman Kingdom was the earliest period in Roman history when seven kings ruled before it became a republic. So in five Oh nine BC, the monarchy was overthrown and the Roman Republic was established the majority of the former king's functions were passed onto two men named consuls who are elected to term of one year and could be prosecuted after council ships ended if abuse those powers Ooh I like that. Yeah. That's a little. GonNa Balance. Right there. Yeah exactly and under the Republic Room also began the practice of assigning dictators basically, if things got. So Harry that they're like now we can't risk multiple dudes working to solve this problem. Just let one guy decide everything. So elegant stunned, they could choose a person to be a dictator for six months for six months. That's Max dictator I think you know yeah, I like. It was their choice and also if whatever the dictator was chosen to carry out, usually it was war like somebody or something I if that finished earlier than the six months period, the dictator was actually expected to them be like, okay, that's it. I'm done and dislike resigned their dictatorship. Okay, that's also something that the Italians are really good about is giving power. and. They were actually fairly common until the end of the second punic war, which is the one with Hannibal and the elephants and actually did work pretty well late the Roman republic was basically constantly at war during this time since it went from essentially being a city sitting on a bunch of hills to being invaded by gulls then they took over the entire Italian peninsula and they defeated Carthage over the course of the three punic worse than they conquered all of modern bakeries and finally they had three different slave revolts with the last one being the one with Spartacus said everyone who's about and. So obviously that much war and that much rapid expansion meant there is like unrest in the air and it opened the door to a lot of military leaders to make their mark in the world, which is where we're gonNA start our main story about the empire. Julius. Caesar was never an emperor of Rome and died under the Roman Republic and not the Roman Empire that you cannot start talking about the Roman Empire without first talking about my boy JC.

Review of Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G

"There are plenty of android phones, and of course, the IPHONE to consider at three hundred and forty nine dollars. The Regular Pixel for a is easy to recommend at four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars the pixel for five G.. A bit more comparison shopping as with all pixels, the five Jeez strengths are hard to put on a SPEC sheet. It's more unassuming than other android phones, but it's software is more elegant and easier to use, and of course, the camera is almost surely better than the direct competition it will turn heads but the pixel for five G. won't let you down either and quote. But. What about that Pixel five over at and Gadget Cris Velasco says, android eleven is clean and clever on the pixel five. The five has long battery life, but the Pixel lineups cameras overall have stagnated. So lacking that key leadership differentiator rival phones can now offer better value quote. It's the best smallish android phone I've used in a long time with plenty of charming software features and a smattering of high niceties. If this were any other year, I'd probably be recommending. It more strongly, but it's not. So I can't to be clear if clean clever software with term support is the first thing you value most in a smartphone the pixel five is probably the best you can get. But consider this you could get a galaxy S. twenty F e Five G. With a more flexible camera system better performance a bigger more beautiful screen and expandable storage for seven hundred dollars seven fifty if you want one that plays Nice with 'em and. Wave Five G. Networks, and while it software won't be for everyone, the seven hundred and fifty dollars, plus at is another option in the same price range and packs a faster chipset more ram and storage and super fast charging, and it's camera while slightly behind the Pixel five in image quality is a lot closer than Google would probably care to admit I. Know I'm sort of comparing apples to oranges here. So how about this the pixel for a five G. Which? Uses the same chipset as the five pecks. The same cameras has a bigger screen that's still really easy to handle all for between five hundred and six hundred dollars. If you can live without water or dust resistance and you don't care about wireless charging, you're probably better off with one of these. Instead none of this is to say I don't like the Pixel five or that it's a bad phone I'm just not convinced. It's the best deal right now and quote.

United Drops After Earnings

"But we started off with an earnings alert on united the airline lower the after hours session after reporting earnings. Let's get straight to fill a bow with details spill. Him, Melissa United. Losing one point eight billion dollars in the third quarter. That's not a surprise. Everybody knows what's been happening with the airline industry the numbers a little wider lost than many people were estimating a loss of eight dollars and sixteen cents a share. The estimate was for a loss of seven fifty, three revenue falling seventy eight percent coming in a little shy of expectations at two point four, eight, billion dollars the real metric everybody's focused on the daily cash burn. Now, just a point of reference. This is a company that. was losing fifty million dollars a day back at the end of March, when the pandemic accelerated, they brought it down to forty million dollars for a daily cash loss. In Q. Two, they bring it down to twenty, five, million, Q. Three, four, million of that by the way is debt in severance payments. So they're core daily cash burn comes down to twenty one, million dollars a day. Now in the earnings report, they do not give a break even date. So while we heard from Delta yesterday saying look, we think we're break even sometime. In the spring united is not addressing that in this earnings report though I suspect that we know that question's GonNa go up on the analyst. All tomorrow I suspect that united will likely give some guidance at that time it's liquidity nineteen point four, billion dollars more importantly Melissa. The company is stressing that it believes that has the cash on hand to get through this pandemic nobody know quite how long this pandemic will last how long it'll airlines will be down that a year and a half two years but united does believe that it's positioned. Well, coming out of the third quarter at least in terms of liquidity don't forget. We have an exclusive tomorrow morning on Squawk box you do not want to miss this Scott Kirby CEO of United Airlines you'll be talking to us not only about the numbers about the daily cash burn but also this question of what's the path to break even is, does it happen in the spring? Does it happen sooner than that? A lot of questions for him tomorrow morning Melissa fell had united before giving a break, even target like Delta had. I don't remember them giving a specific target I know that they were hoping to get close to break even by the end of the year. Frankly that's what every airline was pushing for. Let's get close to break even by the end of the year. So I wouldn't be surprised if they come out and they say look we now think it's GonNa be sometime in the spring or late first quarter second quarter that would not surprise me nor would it surprise any analyst either so it's not like this is news where people are saying, wait a second. We don't know when they're going to get back to break even. Looking, at the progression on the daily cash burn in how much it's coming down I think that's going to be one of the focus points of the analysts call tomorrow and I think you're gonNA, see Wall Street try to pin them down in terms of when they think they get the break even yeah. It seems like as soon as Delta said, we're GONNA push that out it sort of opened the door for the other airlines to do the same. Fell thank you. We'll be listening for that interview tomorrow. I'm squawk box Phillips

The Glass I Love and the Glass I Use

"This is digital story podcast number seven, Fifty, eight September Twenty Ninth Two Thousand Twenty today's a theme is the glass I love and the glass I use. I'm Derek Story. No doubt one of the best investments any artists can make. is in quality photography lenses and I do have some beauties. But what's fascinating to me is that I have lenses that I absolutely love and would be very reluctant to let go up and then I have those optics that are used on a daily basis. and. The funny thing is the two aren't always the same. I'll explain why on today's TVs photography podcast. So. Before I get into that glass itself, it's funny when I was writing this podcast made me think of a scene from moonstruck really terrific movie with share and Olivia Caucus Nicholas Cage. Just an outstanding story in great cast the whole deal. So share comes home one night and I think her mom was up in her bedroom. And share went into say good night tour after she had seen Nicholas Cage, she had started seeing him. And her mom you. Ask her what she's been doing and share told her. And her mom Olivia Dukakis Goes D love them and share goes Ma I think I do. And Olympia Dukakis goes I'm so sorry. I'm not exactly sure why I'm thinking of that story while I'm thinking about these lenses that I love and the ones that I like. Other than I think what Olympia Dukakis was saying is that when you love them, you end up having this attachment. That you stick with through thick and thin whereas if you just like them maybe a right thing start to go south and you're okay with partying ways and you know these lenses. I'm going to talk about a kind of fall into these two categories and it was fascinating to me because. I think going through my inventory because I'm not shooting as much right now because for obvious reasons, all my jobs are higher are no more right now I do find myself going back. Into, my inventory and just making sure the cameras are working. You know just checking things just keeping everything ready so that when life comes back I'm ready to go. and. I've discovered Dan I have lenses that I'm using right now. I use them all the time and then I'll come across a lens in the Lens Safe and I go oh, I love this land so much but maybe haven't shot with it for a month two months three months but yet I wouldn't let go of that Lens basically no matter what and maybe the lenses I'm using everyday right now Okay. Go. That's Kinda weird. Isn't it? It's kind of very interesting. You know what I'm GonNa do today is I'm going to talk about five lenses and I'm not gonNa tell you. which category they go into rather the like or left category I'm just gonNA describe the lenses can have you guess along the way and then at the end I'll tell you the answers. Okay. So we're going to have a little fun today to illustrate that point I. WanNa to tell you about one lens from my past that I definitely loved, and that was the Canon e F eighty, five, millimeter f one eight and I bought this lens decades ago I mean back when I was shooting weddings with a else Alon thirty five millimeter film camera, I bought that lands. About three hundred, fifty dollars then which is a fair of change you know when you're just getting started with your career but at the same time, it was more affordable than other lenses this class. And I mean, I just love the short shortely because it was fast F. One point eight it was light. had very quiet focus the ultrasonic motor was just terrific on it was a good looking land. And most importantly, it took great pictures I mean really great pictures. In fact, one of the metal prints that I have hanging in the studio downstairs was captured with that lens on a cannon five D in Washington DC. and. Hanging on the wall downstairs. Then you know you are in rarefied Erica's that's the stuff I have to look at every day. In a better be good. Alright. That'd be good. that. Lands is responsible for that shop. Here's the funny thing as much as I loved that Lens I didn't shoot with it that often. I mean normally I would have zoom on the camera body I in the film days. But then even later on when I got the five d and the five d mark to I'd have something on there like the e F twenty, four to one. Oh, five, a four and. That's what I shot with most of the time. And then every now, and then for some reason, sometimes, I didn't even really know why I would pull out the eighty five f one eight and I go sheet with that or I'm going to put it in my bag today or whatever candidates cradle it carefully and said it in there. And then when I shot with it, it was always just sort of this wonderful experience and I go. Wow that's a kind of an interesting phenomenon how this went with this lens

"Okay. So if he's never had any credit he likely is what they call a thin. No. Which means he either has no file at all or one that has just the most bare bones of information. Okay. So for instance, he'll be getting his own apartment soon. And if he has not had any credit check up to this point, you know, it's possible that they could be using that in the future to report something on him. And that would initiate his credit history. Starting right. So they do an inquiry on your son. And he has no file what they will hear back from the bureau is there's no file on this person. Okay. But if on the other hand, let's say he is able to sign a lease and they're reporting to the credit bureaus. Payment record on the apartment, and generally, I need to tell you. They only report when somebody has a problem paying the rent and a file is created. But you could help them create a file by making him an authorized user on one of your cars and just not giving them the card. Okay. That's that's probably what I'll do that'll be one way to get started. So once he does get that established credit, you know, after let's put him on my car and a few months go by and he can contact the credit bureau if he's in there, then he can go ahead and free credit at that point. Right. So you can either do it two ways you can either go to annual credit report dot com, which is completely free to use. Once each year, you can get a free copy of your report from each bureau or you can attempt to freeze credit. And if they say, there's no file, then, you know, there's no file yet on him or you. Try to set up a credit karma dashboard. And again, if there's no file on him. He won't be able to set up a dashboard with credit karma, all these different strategies to find out does he exist as far as any of the credit bureaus or concern. "Seven fifty w s. Okay. So his face at Apple's iphone sales are in a slump. Right. Because you know, I look at my iphone. It's kinda the same one as the other one. I'm not really sure why pay twelve hundred dollars for a new phone, and you know, even took my old phone because his glass broke. And you know, it's just crazy. I mean, I don't I did not need to upgrade. So apple says, they have some ideas. So that this way this time next year, baby. Like, oh, we're so excited 'cause we have brand new iphones. We got him. After the holidays. We're using the the three key rear cameras. And how you're gonna use theory. Are charismatic talk about that. And as always there's Andrew bobbin ski and the Kim commandos show man cave, Kim. Hey, Andrew, what's? So what's going on with our caller's? We have Steve he's in Arkansas. And he is a I don't know the exact term for it. But he's like a paramedic and a helicopter. He flies around to scenes of crashes in helicopter. And when he's there he's gotta take pictures of what's going on. Oh, and those are not good. Are not. On anything. Anyone wants to see? But unfortunately, when he uses takes the pictures when this phone they've started now going to his icon account, which is horrible. Yes. Because once they're on your cloud account there forever. And you see them everywhere. Right. Okay. So he wants to avoid this. How can you still use his iphone as a camera? Protect those pictures. Wow. So Steve how long have you been doing this twenty five years? And so you find it easier, obviously with an iphone than regular camera. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Because this way, you don't have to worry about SD cards and transfer and stuff like that. I'm certain that you have tried to turn off. I cloud. Well, the ban. It's got the Alkali. I cloud has never really been the issue. One time my first mistake. But it also is still sending it to my iphoto, my computer, and that's supposed to be like an amazing benefit, right? When you take photos of family members. And you want them to be populated throughout the ecosystem. But when you're taking accident scene photos. That's something that you definitely don't lie. My recommendation is to not use iphoto at all. What I'd like you to do is to download a specific app and the app if you will will be a self contained photo app that only keeps the photos on that device or you can use them. Okay. Good. Or there's another up that I can tell you about first one is called private photo vault. And so when you go to take photos, you're going to open up the app, and you're going to take pictures within that app. Okay. And so any photo that you take of any accident scene is now only going to be contained within that particular app. Now, if you want to do something different meaning that if you wanna make sure that you always have a backup because if you're at a place where maybe you can't download the photos, and you're worried that your iphone may suddenly die because I don't know if your luck is like mine, but sometimes it is right. And it's like. What was that that just die on me, you know, my device, and so if that's concerned to you. There's something called secret photo vault and with secret photo works the same way with the exception that you also have your photos stored up in the cloud, and they're encrypted, but you have access to them anywhere. Okay. And that's twenty three dollars a year, which isn't bad. Then there are the, you know, then there are the other app say, for example, like the kids like to use that, you know, it's like a it looks like a calculator when you type in a certain formula that suddenly it opens new you could see all these pictures and stuff that you've taken and stuff like that. But it also needs password access. So I think if you take a look at private photo vault. Or secret photo Vall. Those would be the two apps that I would recommend for you to take photos on your phone that you don't necessarily want other people to see whether it's an accident or whether it's you know. Those type of photos. All right. Let's go ahead and.

"And AM seven fifty w s. A man's world by James Brown. Showy asong we'd like to play when we have a show with the urologist on and we've got run on glade at Georgia urology on with us today. Our show is the weekly checkup on your host Dr Bruce Steinberg reproduced by lens, Atlanta's healthcare, marketing experts, and of course, we're always taking your calls for four eight seven two zero seven fifty and we'll talk about anything that's urologic today. So if you have something in mind feel free to call in, but we wanted to start the show and do the steeper dive into the issue of infertility, and and particularly around the difficulties for couples to conceive which could be ten to fifteen percent of couples in this country, have difficulty. If you add in miscarriage rates, the numbers get much much higher of couples who do not just have a quick and easy successful pregnancy. And what is the contribution of the demands health to all that? And we wanted to have that conversation as part of today's urologic, topics. So Ron you were talking you were talking about Medicare. And I wanted to go a little deeper because I think that it gets to be a long list, and we talked about some of the the common ones. But there's there's quite a few on there that people might not suspect. Right. Well, Bruce again, thanks for having me today. So when we talk about medications, one of the most common that I run through in my practice is a man who were placed on either testosterone or testosterone replacement therapy because the natural. Response by by some physicians is that a man comes any says, having difficulty conceiving, maybe also complaining a little bit about difficulty sexually functioning at the time, of course, and so on and so forth. So they get placed on testosterone or testosterone analogs, and Ed is probably one of the worst things you can do for men who are having difficulty conceiving because taking testosterone from outside the body suppresses, the testicles themselves and sperm or best made in environments of high testosterone production within the testicle endogenous. Testosterone says we would say, you know, in medical speaks a high testosterone from the body from natural productive, not quote, unquote, natural disaster in the pill. Correct. That's right. It's always confusing. But okay. So that would be one. And then you're looking at list, you were talking about it during break, and and things like for guys who are losing their hair, right? They're doing propecia. Right. So finance, right. Is a medication. That's been subscribed for a long time for enlarged prostates. And then they figured out that it also grew hair. So at a lower doses. Prescribed a lot for men who use it to grow hair, and that's a drug that I find actually quite calmly younger men, and I asked him stop it immediately. Now, the direct effect on sperm production is not exactly known, but it does have effects on testosterone production. So we wanted to get that out of the mix soon as possible as well. And you mentioned the SR is a certain release. SRS is and these are the antidepressants, and they're very Connolly drugs. Like Paxil you've heard their names. But. Whether they are over prescribed or night as a kind of a topic from other show, you know that there is definitely that change in the utilize of some of these what they make and I'm not sure the current term, it'd be psychotropic drugs, but drought drugs that are used for anxiety, depression, a host of other conditions, but they can affect sperm, and and and we've talked about it in terms of the use of Ritalin and those kinds of medicines in the in the younger child environment, but also in the adult environment. And so the whole idea you're talking about about the medical history and part of that medical story is sexual history. But also knowing the complete drug history and past medical history, Karam's critical, and really helping the client. I can't underestimate or understate the importance of a complete history. I always go back to the semen analysis is being probably the most important test. We can get. But there are so many things that we can sometimes manipulating the history to help improve if not total sperm count, but at least Burma quality. I guess is a good way to put it. So in addition to the propitiate testosterone some hypertensive medications can affect sperm production affect the way, the sperm swim a Motilal. So those have to be assessed. So one of the things I was reading about we probably will not have time to get into it here in the next segment, but what's called DNA fragmentation. And apparently, it's becoming a bigger deal. As we understand that there's more to seem in.

"Radio show. Rush Limbaugh, live Lou. Seven fifty W G O W AM. Good. Knows a listener to the show. Never surprise when I defend freedom and free markets, even when it's not popular. And unfortunately today, it doesn't seem to be very popular because I don't care about. What's popular I care about what's right and what works? That's why. I'm speaking out against secretary as ours. As to tear down the most innovative sector of the US economy. I'm talking about the biopharmaceutical industry, which is the innovation Jim of our economy and the envy of the world. US drug industry. Commits ninety billion dollars a year RND to bring more life saving technologies to market than any other industry in the world. And by doing that. They employ countless Americans is a good paying jobs have produced life saving work but secretary as ours plan to socialize the US drug industry by dictating what drug companies can charge, and what certain drugs seniors can or cannot have access to regardless of what their doctors may prescribe. We'll put lives at risk. Because he's attacking the same drug companies that produce the life change in life saving drugs. Millions depend on. You remember Obama's war on coal? This is starting to look like as ours war on medical innovation. We should be exporting freedom, not importing socialist ideas that produce poverty, scarcity and rationing. Worst of all his plan will kill the innovation needed to get the next breakthrough in cancer or Alzheimer's. I'm not gonna sit.
