"As a Mexican national team fan. Yeah, hurricane with so few Mexicans in Europe, you're right to question like can they do it? This proves not only that they can, but I think that they must. Santi Jimenez a great example, a guy who needed to make the jump to take his game to the next level, and there's not a better example than orbeli Pineda, who's in that kind of mid 20s age range where you might say, hey, man, this guy's too old. Well, he made the jump and I think we saw it the World Cup. We saw a very different orbeli Pineda at the national team level than we'd seen before he made the jump to Greece. I think going to Europe made a big difference for the player. It's not just titles her. It's the three guys specifically who won them as well. This is most likely if everybody's healthy, Mexico's front three, so you're now going to the summer with your front three playing well and winning. For me, Santi or belin chuki has to be the front three provided help and having them all coming off titles is only going to help you this summer. It can only translate over to the national team, right? I agree with what you're saying that translate into the national team and help you this summer absolutely. You want players who are informed and players who are confident and these three players seem to be that. Audubon wouldn't be in my front three. He'd been my midfield. Like he was in Saudi Arabia and leading up in the World Cup. He was very positive in the midfield. I wouldn't move it. He's a very good dual player, a dual way player. I don't move that, but you're absolutely right. Listen, if you go into comparison with the favorites come June, which are the semifinal games, Canada versus Panama probably both would bet Canada would beat Panama and make it to the final. And then the U.S. versus Mexico, look at where the U.S. men's national team pool is today. It's not a very positive moment. You have players who aren't playing, you have players who aren't making game day rosters, you have players, just not in a good moment. You have relegation scraps. In a relegation scrap, you have a coach. That's an interim coach. You don't even have a head coach. I don't think you could bank on just the names and what I mean by just the names is having a Tyler Adams, having a Christian policy. Stephanie Matt Turner, Giovanni Reina. You can't just bank on the names. I don't think it's a good moment that the pool was living right now and there isn't uptick in the moment for the Mexican national team who has a head coach who have a team that has played together a lot because a lot of those players are returning together and finally getting some good news. So yeah, you could probably translate and say that this is this good news could translate into them parlaying into something. Come the semifinal game. And it's worked the other way, right? It's worked for the United States. If we go back to 2021, when this show had just started, remember that spring, you were celebrating Christian Pulisic winning the Champions League, Weston McKinney had won a cup in Italy, sergino destined won a cup in Spain with Barcelona Brendan aronson, was winning the league in Austria. And that translated her to the national team because that 2021 summer is really the summer that the United States overtakes Mexico and probably at least until qualifying overtakes Concacaf to me, you can see a direct translation when guys are winning at club level to what they do at the national team level. The Americans right now may not be feeling that, but the Mexican team for the first time in a long time to your point has not just anything positive, but something very specifically positive in Europe. And I think that can only go a long way towards June 15th and that nation's league semi file. To your point, Tyler Adams was in a semifinal with Leipzig and the Champions League. And sure may not have had a prominent role, but he was on a winning city team and that by osmosis, that confidence carries over. So yes, absolutely. That's a big difference. Okay. Looking for more confidence, why don't we run it back with some other members of ad three? Maybe feeling yourself a little bit much here because

"You saw where the goal came from. It's a square ball 30 yards that you're going across the field. You put air along in a very compromising position. Yes, Aaron long could have cleared the ball could have done anything he could have besides trying to play out of that. He tries playing out of that and it's root one. One of the faster players for Mexico and they come down your throat that way. But killing a Costa needs to be a better player. Kelly Costa has shown that he can be a better player. Killing the Costa right now has the luxury of being the only like for like player right now in the pool when it comes for or as close as like to like as you can get to Tyler Adams. So this was disheartening for me. I'm a big believer in Kellen Acosta and at one point he was the next big thing to go to Europe. It didn't work out for him, but you could still think he'd be a Utah player. And what is this pool? He's not shown that. He didn't show that in Arizona. Yeah, it's expectations at this level, right? You figure a guy of his pedigree would do well if not dominated this level. I thought somebody who would do very well at this level was Brandon Vasquez. I thought he would be better. I felt a little bit disappointed in his performance, especially given the opportunity there at number 9. I wonder what you thought of Jesus fede a before the goal because I think obviously if one play can change your opinion of sergino dest, I'm sure the same can be said for his first feda. Yeah, before the goal, it's a difficult position because when you look at what's going on as the ball is moving around and why they're not creative, why they have nothing going forward in the final 30. Look, the expected goals it was abysmal. It was the worst showing offensively that they had since 2018 versus France. That Dave Sarah inside. There was nobody to kind of interlink to kind of drive the ball forward at a mosa Weston McKinney. Luca de la Torre with vision. They didn't have that. So he was trying to be that, pick it up in between pockets, but there was nobody to play with. He looked a little lost in there, but to his credit, he got a goal. And you can say whatever you want about it. And there are many who will say, and I'm not, and I'm not somebody who was a fan of him playing the game he played against the Netherlands in the World Cup, but he seems to be productive when he gets a chance for both club and country and at the rate he's going right now in club. He could be in Europe soon. So you want to play like him to succeed when he gets chances. It's just the eye test, not necessarily his past it, but he's got he's got the stats. And just because I know people are screaming at their television screens right now, we should probably mention Aaron long didn't have his best night either. Let's get to Mexico, herc. Stock up stock down. We will start again with that three on the positive side. And I'm going Luis Chavez. Now this one was pretty obvious to me. To me, he was the best player on the field, not only for Mexico, but of all 22

"Hear it a little faint that wouldn't come out on television the second time, you can absolutely hear it. I don't know if you heard it from the television set where you were at, but you can definitely hear that homophobic chant. Yeah, Mauricio tweeted that he heard it for the first time in the 49th minute, there had been some discussion kind of leading into this game that U.S. soccer has on their books that they could ban Mexico from playing in the U.S. for up to two years over this chant. Before we get to a two year ban hurt, I think we gotta see a stoppage of a game, an ending of a game, then we'll know that they're escalating this, but right now it kind of feels like we always, we always get to the same place with this discussion. We hear the chant, we forget about it for a few months, and the next time it comes up, there's talk of more sanctions, but there's never really anything that happens. They didn't stop it, they didn't stop it last night, did they? No, they didn't stop it last night, but they're not going to sanction themselves. This was run by, this is promoted by U.S. soccer. So when they send out that, I guess if you will, statement, they're talking about the sum games which are when Mexico comes plays in the states. They're not talking about their games. They're going to try to do their best, but cock a gap has not been able to do it. FIFA's not being able to do it. So having U.S. soccer try to police it themselves, it's going to be very difficult. Yeah. 2015, the first time the Mexican federation was fined over this channel. Let's get to some of the individual performances with a stock up stock down. We'll start on the American side of things, and we'll start on the positive. Give me a stock up from the U.S. men's national team game against Mexico last night. So I didn't want to give a stock up for the U.S. men's national. You might thought the performances were pretty bad individually, unless we're talking about the players who came off the bench, but the starter is per se, we're pretty, but then I thought about it. No, there is a stock up. There's a stock up and I criticize her genio desk a lot. Sergino dest who looked lacking in confidence who only touched about 41 times. One of the best players on the field, biggest resumes on the field, Barcelona, Milan, played at ix, already a World Cup under him, had teams like PSG, Bayern Munich, looking for his services and he touches at 41 times as an outside back. He didn't look like he wanted the ball, he could look like he wanted to be there. He looked disinterested until he wasn't. Until he reminded himself was Virginia desk can do when he has the ball at his feet. And in one play and one single play may have not saved the season, but given himself the spark to go back to Europe and lift himself out of that purgatory, which he is in right now with Milan. So I went stock up for sergino individually. I didn't really like his play per se throughout the 90 minutes because I think he's the bar he has set for himself. He did not meet that, but in that play I think that muscle memory may kick in. So I gave him a stock up there. I wonder how much of that was Russ because I'm with you that for most of the game. He didn't really look like the player that we expect, but you see that magic right there. It feels like the stock up is basically down to that. I'll follow on you on Twitter. You said this is the least confidence you've seen from death since 2019. So obviously, that's kind of what you thought of him. In New Jersey, I wasn't going to mention it. You did. A couple other guys I thought were okay. James sans and Sonia off the bench. I thought was was pretty deep. Even more, she was decent as well. Yeah, a lot of people excited about him. All right, that's a positive hurt. We found some positives. Let's get to the negative. Who's your stock down here? Who are you picking? So, I'm a firm believer in Kellen Acosta and who he is and the like for like when you don't have Tyler Adams, you need a player like Kel and Acosta. So this one to me was glaring. It's kind of on a cost. I expect a lot more out of kellan Acosta. He

"Manager, Diego coca's words after the 75th all time meeting between these two teams ends in a one one draw. That's now 5 straight unbeaten for the United States. Against Mexico. Perk you were one of the privileged few. You were there to witness it live. What was your big takeaway from the payday in the desert? The payday in the desert, I like that, and it was a payday sold out crowd. Washington say sold out. I was 55,000 plus. Okay. In Arizona, very good number for a meaningless friendly on a non FIFA fixture date so you would assume what you would have prioritized looking at certain players, prioritize changing things. This is what I get out of it. They took this game seriously in a way where neither coach wanted to lose. I know that sounds obvious. That sounds obvious. Nobody would want to lose, but listen as for a second. The Mexican national team had 5 players that played in the World Cup and they're starting 11. 5 of those players played meaningful minutes really meaningful minutes in the World Cup. The U.S. miss now's team had 7 players in their starting lineup. Maybe only two of them had meaningful minutes in sergino desks and walkers. But still, you prioritized in your view, you're strongest lineups. Mexico only made two subs, two sub Seb. It shows you just whether I don't understand why you needed on both sides to see much of the same. What would Diego coca, what would Anthony Hudson get out of prioritizing a look at the same exact players need a coach wanted to lose so that's my big takeaway here is what I saw. The lack of actual gameplay involvement from some of the younger players, some of the players they've not seen. They just threw by the wayside. I feel like it was a real missed opportunity for Mexico, right? There were two or three chances you saw it in the highlight there to put this game away and Mexico didn't do it. And I think that would have been very valuable from just a standpoint of from like a Mexico fan, almost a pallet cleanser, right? You could have snapped the winning streak or the win less streak that you have against the United States. You could have broken there unbeaten street. And on top of that is a fan it would have at least somewhat changed the dynamic of this rivalry going into the summer, which we know is going to be huge. I think the performance itself from Mexico is actually good. I wouldn't go so far as great, but it was good, but it's a terrible, terrible result because you once again proved that you can't do too critical things which Mexico needs to figure out. You can't beat the United States. Even when they don't have their a team, it's the second time that's happened now in the last 5, go back to the gold cup in 2021. And herc on top of that, you're proving that this team can't finish. Not just the chances, but the game itself. And if you can't finish games, if you can't see opponents off, whether it's the United States or not, it's going to be a lot of the same old same old that we saw in the last cycle for Diego coca's Mexico. So for me, you can look at the performance and find some positives, which is kind of what he's saying. And you have to feel the feel, I think, really bad about the result. On the other hand, for the U.S., I think the U.S. has to feel great about the result and maybe not so good about the performance, especially some of the individual performances, but I give all these guys a little bit of a pass hurt because it's not the a team. It's not a FIFA date. And to that end, I wonder like how many more of these games we're gonna see. What's the value of this to kind of what you were getting at before? We don't have the World Cup qualifiers. I'll see that between U.S. and Mexico. We no longer have those guarantees, but we have Nations League. It's likely you could see each other there. We have gold cup. It's likely you could see each other there. We have all these other tournaments now that are popping up, Copa América, potentially something in 2025, where USA and Mexico could meet. How often do we need a USA Mexico friendly hurt and how often do we need one outside of a FIFA date? You wouldn't need one outside of a FIFA date and these friendlies are never friendly's ish yesterday was as friendly ish or insignificant as I've seen a game between U.S. and Mexico and quite some time. Maybe 2000, what was it? 15. That era, the last time in all of them, I think it was last time I really recall the game that didn't matter too much that was these type of sides, just very quickly. Why these games should matter if you're Mexico. If you look at the starting lineup for Mexico, take out Nestor arago, everybody else, I fully expect them that starting lineup to be in the World Cup in 2026, you maybe can not say that for the U.S. men's national team. This was a real opportunity for Diego coca to get a look at some guys. And maybe introduce some players. He didn't do that. That's a lost opportunity, but you're right. The U.S. will probably feel better at the result than their play. But this is a pattern of chances. Mexico had their chances. I gave on out on chronometer and SportsCenter and a few other shows yesterday, three, one verdict that I thought Mexico to win three one. You look at the expected goals. You look at the chances that they had. It could have easily been a three zero three one score line. But they should really lament the fact that when they were most dangerous, it came back to bite them in transition. And that's going to happen in a tournament setting. Just to finish up the point on the rivalry, we talk about USA Mexico getting watered down. A friendly a team versus a team, you can make the claim you're not watering it down, but when it's B team versus B team are less than then you truly are watering it down real quick because you were there and it's something that we have talked a lot about around this Mexican national team. The chant, the homophobic chant that has followed this team for now multiple World Cup cycles. Did you hear it in the stadium in Arizona? Yeah, we heard it. We heard it a few times. It also was sitting next to me and he pointed out the first time, which is you could hear it a little faint that wouldn't come out on television the second time, you can absolutely hear it. I don't know if you heard it from the television set where you were at, but you can definitely hear that homophobic chant. Yeah, Mauricio tweeted that he heard it for the first time in the 49th minute, there had been some discussion kind of leading into this game that U.S. soccer has on their books that they could ban Mexico from playing in

"Squad, there's lots of MLS talent getting run out to get the experience of pulling on the United States Jersey. A couple of gents stand out. First of all, the one European base player, my lord, it's poor, beautiful segen, dust, ostensibly, still on loan at Milan. That wonder of a Dutch American, such a joyful bloke. What's happened to him? A classic house soaring. I'm old enough to remember when he was linked to Manchester United. I mean, how'd you handicap surge his mindset now? He's unwanted in Milan, Barcelona have already briefed the press. They don't want him back. What kind of a trajectory is our manon? You know, sergino attracted a lot of interest. It wasn't just Barcelona at one point he had Bayern Munich. He had PSG interested in them while at Barcelona, where would he go before it was Milan? You mentioned it was Manchester United with Eric ten hawk his old manager. You don't attract that type of interest if you don't have something in your bag. If you're not a technically sound player. Unfortunately, one of the concerns that I had before I'm going to Milan was Serie A Italian football is a defender's leak. We've heard players like ector Moreno Mexican national team in that place for monterrey when he was in Europe. He said, I thought I knew how to defend. This legendary Mexican center back said, I thought I knew how to defend. Then I went to Italy and I learned that I knew nothing. So it's a different game defensively in Italy and finding that out. Virginia is a wizard with a ball at his feet and going forward. He struggles tactically, Raj, and that he's not been playing at Milan because of that now was shavi, you could say what you want about Barcelona, but if we look at this Barcelona under shabby Hernandez, the legendary Javier rennis re Barcelona, they're unbelievable defensively. They've had 9 goals scored on them all season. That's an insane record for any team. Let alone Barcelona and that tiki taka brand. You know, they're supposed to be an offensive juggernaut. They're supposed to be a team that prioritizes having the ball and here they are new skin being a team that prioritizes their defensive stability. So of course, sergino is not going to really have a place there. Unfortunately for sergino, he's allowed to be at this game because there's no need for him at Milan. He's not even in the Champions League roster. So he's here, much like Juliana Rao, the ex galaxy player who's at Mexican national team player who's at Barcelona as well right now who is most definitely the reason that there will be no space for sergino dest, shavi Hernandez has already spoken very well of him. He's not allowed to actually play first team football until next season. He's only training at the moment, but he trains with the first team in shabby, listen, very good player, physically, you know, great attributes, strong, good shot from distance, you know, he's gonna be good for us, talking about how he will be good for them next season. All without we know about shavi, he's spoken that desk wasn't for him and will not be for him. So sergino needs this game just as much as anybody else in this roster, both rosters. He needs this for lack of a better term to shake the rust off to promote himself to show other teams who are interested that he can still be that player for them. You talk about Julia now that I have to say, I loved you conversation with him last week on vamos. That's Southern California gent who choose el tree over the United States is at Barcelona right now. You can find that conversation on this very pod feed, but there's another gent who, in many ways, has dealt with some of the similar identity issues and is in the spotlight big time tonight, 24 years of age, FC Cincinnati striker, Brandon Vasquez, the pride of Chula Vista, California, grew up in sight of the Mexican border that his parents crossed, love shivas as a kid, started his career in the academy system with Tijuana, jewel eligibility, called up by both Mexico and U.S. at the youth level, said on Monday that he's heard nothing from the Mexico senior national team, so wants to focus on the U.S. side. I think he was pissed on the scene not to make our World Cup squad, passed over entirely, no secret, the U.S. needs to number 9, tell us about Brandon. How'd you handicap his strengths his weaknesses and where would you have him in the U.S. number 9 depth chop? So Brennan Vasquez is about 24 years of age and he's of the generation of the Tyler Adams, the Weston McKinney, the Haji writes the Christian politics of Luca dela toys and the Alejandro Sanders. They actually all played youth national team together. U 17s. He's a player that's very familiar with the setup here in the states. He's about 6 two 6 three 200 pounds, very soft feet, and what I mean by soft feet is for a player of that size and stature. He has a great ability of linking up with the midfield and other players around him at the wing position. He's a goal scorer, scored 18 goals last season, but he had 8 assists so it shows you his ability to understand tactically what he needs to do when he's not scoring goals. Great work ethic and he's a player that's, I don't want to say late bloomer, but he's really coming into his own. Now, the reason I say, I don't want to say late bloomer is because I feel like when he's been given an opportunity, which was just last season, he's proven it. Before that, he was a cholos, where he would only play youth football. He started out, I believe it was 2017 with Atlanta United. He was 18 years old. He's got the same story very much akin to Paula raiola, a border kid grew up in Southern California in Chula Vista with the ability to literally drive from his home in Chula Vista to Tijuana, drive from the border to Tijuana train and drive back home. So he's got this unique perspective on the game. Unique perspective, I would say on life.

"Nigerian parents, thank you. He has, there's been a lot of smoke, including from people at and around the U.S. can't. People that I talk to that call Anthony and Aaron judge. That balagan, who is one of the top scorers in legal for the French top division, both in terms of goal scoring and in terms of non penalty, like the underlying numbers really, really like him. He's there on loan from arsenal. There's a lot of smoke that he's about to file that one time switch to represent the U.S. he is a dual national recruit on the level of sergino dest or unis Musa. Like he's that level of a prospect. I think he would immediately slot in as the number one option at the number 9. It would be a big time get. So watch the game, enjoy the game. Maybe don't get married to the idea of Darryl DK or Ricardo Pepe being the full-time starting center forward because it seems like there's going to be some serious competition inserted into the mix real soon. Where do you think flow is signing his one time switch papers at the pool in Orlando? I saw him playing chucking a football around with a kid. Maybe in a suite at the magic game. Maybe at spring training, maybe at that dog bar. Maybe at GA cup in Bradenton just down the road with David goss on. He's not just down the road. It's on the other side. It's a thing I'm learning. We're Sarasota, Florida, as well. Connor hit us up actually, just real quick and asked Doyle, you frequently refer to the underlying numbers when discussing your thoughts on team and player quality. He said, do a semi deep dive. I'm not asking for a semi deep dive. I'm asking for the shallow elevator. Expected goals expected goals allowed, those are two big ones. Then expected threat.

"Other ones were 9 25, I think. So it's made huge strides. That said, though, recently, Cristiano Ronaldo was a free agent and we know Kansas City apparently made a big effort to get him. Instead he goes to Saudi Arabia takes the money. Do you think MLS as a league and all the owners together should have probably done more because of what it could have brought to the league in terms of notoriety to bring in a guy of that stature? Good question. You know, I can't really honestly speculate on what other owners should do. I think one of the things. And by the way, the MLS ownership group has been absolutely amazing to me and my family throughout this whole process. So whether it was tours of their stadium, letting us talk to their teams as well. So I think from that perspective, this ownership group really does believe in supporting one another. I think the other side to that is I think there's so much amazing homegrown talent here in the United States. And I think that you have clubs that are really excited to start being able to use their academy system, the development team. And really just bring U.S. soccer players to an international level as well. Selfishly in St. Louis, we have some of the best academy kids hands down. And they continue to win tournaments, improve themselves and one thing I would like to do in a couple of years is be watching a World Cup match and say that was a kid that came from St. Louis. Carolyn, I agree with you on that. The talent level here in America has grown, but that said, though, a lot of the top players like Weston mckenney, Christian Pulisic, sergino dest, they all go to Europe to play. So even from, say, FC Dallas is academy. What can be done over the next few years and you now, as one of the owners here, of course, in the league to try to keep that homegrown cream of the crop talent from not going to Europe and staying here and kind of showing us what they can do. Well, I think you've got a couple of things that are really exciting. So the MLS partnership with Apple, I mean, that's the first of its kind. And so I think that that's really going to be able to draw a lot more fans than linear TV. And what I mean by that is we have a Bosnian player, our hope is, is that people in Bosnia are signing into the city SC page because they want to watch one of their own playing the successful. I think number two, I think better understanding the demographics and how do you market them and how do you make them very loyal fans is a focus not only for MLS as a whole, but as teams in general. And I think that there's just, from what I'm seeing this, there's sort of a shift in how the younger generations, how they consume sports. And soccer

"Until the summer LA galaxy going to get €4 million for their part of the deal. Let's start here first. First, herk is Juliana who gonna be a first team player at Barcelona, and what kind of impact do you think he has? Eventually, eventually, not in the first few months at the Catalan club. Yeah, based off just player pool in general, the style of play. I think it's gonna cost him at first. But I love everything about this kid's work ethic, the way he can set himself to be successful, but those are some deep waters. That said, you look at Barcelona's right back depth chart, if you will. I mean, strategy Roberto 31 years of age, not quite frankly, has been in the good graces of shavi as of late, hasn't played much. Ronaldo actually a center back has been playing that right back position, busquets every once in a while. If he's there, he's going to get some opportunities and all you need to do is be on the field Barcelona to do well, which they have been doing lately. To see something in you and Rafa Marquez to really, really fine tune you. This is where I think it's going to be instrumental and actually to his advantage that he's not being thrown into the deep waters at first. So the fact that he's going to go to Barcelona bear and he's going to have three, four months of actual time to work and develop before he gets into that first team waters and actually plays 'cause he may go to the training sessions he may be there and whatnot, but to actually play. I think that's to his benefit. So if you're asking me if he will have a successful Barcelona career, I don't know. But if I'm betting on it, I bet it's more he gets opportunities than him right now. Never sees the light of day. Okay. So we were talking about this in the production meeting in terms of the MLS to major big time blockbuster European club moves. There's a spectrum, right? There's not Mia Oscar, let's say, to Alfonso Davies. Went straight to Chelsea. He played two Premier League games for Chelsea and he made 5 loan moves. Alfonso Davies went to Bayern Munich, and even though, like Juliana Rao, Alfonso Davies started on the second team, he started at Byron two, he was pretty instantly a starter. He won a Champions League. Now 5 years later and look at exactly what he is. So that's the spectrum upon which koyana alho would land, but there's one player in particular her that I think is a more apt comparison. Sergino dest sergino dest played 72 72 games across all competitions at Barcelona in the same position. Do you think Juliana hall will play more or less games than sergino desktop Barcelona when it's all said and done? He's got a he's got a three year deal through 2026. Also, by the way, was over 20 million sale and Ronald kuhlman specifically who recruited him, tried to recruit him for the Dutch national team specifically brought him to Barcelona, so there's a big difference

It's like actually, right, I don't think that that's actually a very good idea. I was reaching for that one. It's funny though with the anecdotes with him. He's so fucking cool. Like, I feel like they undersold him in the lead up to the tournament, where they were just like, who should be the captain in Tyler? It's like, what is it about him? Tyler, what is the value? Why did they pick it to be captain? Because I have a presence because I'm different. Like he's got so much confidence, but it's all earned and then he plays like it. These guys are rare. I was talking about the studio guys about this after the USA England game, but it's really cool how essentially Tyler Adams and Brendan aaronson have both made this progression through when they first got to Europe. They played for these two different Red Bull teams, Leipzig and Salzburg. And then now they're both on leads and leads as coach by Jesse march but played this very high octane run run run press press like everything is kind of coming out of these counter pressing motions where you're trying to jump on teams when they have the ball in their own third. And you can just see the tactical acumen, the both of those guys have, but also combine that with just like the full out. I just run until I bust along. And I feel like this team really needed that. I felt like we really needed something that was like an identity thing. The U.S. will run you off the field is a very cool identity thing. And one thing that you've noticed watching a lot of other World Cup matches is that these teams are a lot of them are they're anchored by guys who are in the middle of their club season. They've played a lot of football. They're going to have to play a lot of football. And even though the World Cup is probably the most important games that they'll play, I know there's something to be said for the young legs of the U.S. kind of like as they're sort of signature here. Don't you think so so Rudy? I think you bring up a great point is that we've got all these exciting young players and they're playing at big clubs as pools that gets geo, it's whatever and all this attacking talent, these guys that we know. But like the DNA of what makes a U.S. team successful is that they work hard and they run around and they're a pain in the ass to play against and they don't let you score. And so you need guys like atoms like Clint Dempsey back in the day. Some of those guys, they're just like grit masters. And yes, we have all these sexy names in like 2026 and oh my God, they're gonna be like coming into this tournament. They're gonna be hitting their primes. Like, we're gonna be like Barcelona of the international team. At the end of the day, our core is that we work our asses off, and we're just paying the ass to play against. And we have to have a guy like Adams, even moose's just difficult to get off the ball. The midfield itself, like it's the heart of the team, and they are just, they kind of fit like the puzzle pieces fit really well together. And that is the pride and joy of this team. Like, it's cool. Yeah, you want to go out there and score two, three goals, and play quote unquote champagne football. That's fine. That's usually doesn't happen in international tournaments. Like I said, that happens in club tournaments. That international tournaments. That's why like France, who has all these world leaders, they just play so conservative because they know that their town is likely going to win out. Yeah, if they don't get on the break, it's a wrap. So like us just being this like incredibly difficult team to play against and having like this forward tuned and grit to us, that is what we are. And that's why I was a little bit afraid because burr halter wants to bring this progressive style and pass come out from the back. It's like, do we have the players to do that? At the end of the day, like today, you grind out a win and you get results and that's what we do as a soccer country. So Rudy, the hair on my arm is dead at a future run for senator in Connecticut. Ted Lasso? I wish Jeff Bezos was listening because go get us a striker. Just another country. Are we allowed to steal strikers from other countries? It's pretty much open season at this point, yeah. Yeah, let's go get one. Can we get somebody who's like 6 foot three and kick a free kick? Some corners? We did steal sergino desks away from the Dutch. So this is like, this could be a potential revenge game for them. Played in the youth teams for England, yeah. So this could be like, you know, hey, you know, we never know. They were revenge game for them, but they genuinely wanted Sergio desk to be on their team and he chose the U.S. over the Netherlands. All right, so winners, pulisic kick. Adams. In

A little bit of risk off mood in equity markets across the apac, particularly in Hong Kong, where our material shares are leading the hang sang to a loss of something greater than 2.2%. We're also seeing a slump in consumer discretionary along with energy and industrial names in Tokyo, we've got the nikkei down about 1% on the Chinese mainland chenghai composite weaker by 7 tenths of 1% in Seoul the Cosby off about four tenths of 1% and in Sydney, the ASX 200 weaker by about four tenths of 1%. Crude oil has slumping. Not by much now, but we were down three and a half percent in New York trading when the U.S. government reported a gain in U.S. stockpiles, also a great deal of concern about weaker demand going forward in China where COVID cases are rising again, WTI right now, 85 70. And if you look at many of these markets, energy shares are contributing in a major way to losses. Tomorrow in the U.S. 8 30 a.m. Wall Street time, we'll have the CPI report for the month of October. Today, treasury yields moved lower in renewed defensiveness, given the fact that we saw another sell off in some of the crypto related names so that haven buying sent the yield on the U.S. ten year down to about 4.09%, which is where we're trading right now in the Tokyo session. We've got a two year treasury down, a check that up one basis point to four 59. The dollar showing a little bit of weakness, the yen firm here at one 46 35. This is a Bloomberg business flash. Just a little bit of a risk aversion across the apac region in equity trading. We do, however, have the equity market in Tokyo down quite a bit with an EK weaker by about 9 tenths of 1%, energy stocks leading this decline, crude oil in the New York session drop below $86 the barrel after the U.S. government reported a build in U.S. inventories. There's also a lot of concern in the market. Where demand in China is concerned particularly given the fact that we have seen COVID cases now rising again in places like Beijing, WTI right now, is at 85 60 in the electronic session. So we're down another three tenths of 1%. The energy group within the knee K is weaker by more than two and a half percent. Again, the nikkei down about 9 tenths of 1% install the Cosby off just a tenth of 1%, and in Sydney, we've got the ASX 200 down about two tenths of 1%. US Treasury yields very little changed right now. We dropped in New York trading given the fact that we seem to have a round of haven buying in U.S. treasuries given the fact that there was a meltdown in crypto assets again today, the ten year right now 4.08% a two year at four 58. Maybe this is a risky trade, particularly given the fact that we do have that CPI data in the U.S. tomorrow 8 30 a.m. Wall Street time. The dollar showing some weakness the yen is stronger, one 46 20, and I will take another look at markets in 15 minutes. Head Baxter joins us for a look at global news headlines, Eddie. Also a downward push on equities number of factors. They're talked a little bit about some disappointment in the earnings season in the United States, exemplified most recently by Disney, tumbling 13% after its results, disappointed. We also have the midterm elections that maybe didn't go quite the way that some investors thought and then this crypto meltdown binance backing away from its takeover offer of FTX and this is hit crypto's right across the board and we saw the Justice Department word that the Justice Department would be looking into this turmoil and this comes amid a probe by the SEC.
