Players unite in push to save college season, create union

"A lot of athletes and right now a lot of college a lot of kids in college who would say that they want to play and wouldn't necessarily think it through or think of everything that would have to go into then being able or being allowed to play. And you know, I I understand because it came up a little bit earlier, the whole unionizing of college athletes. It's look, I played on a college football team at the F C s level, right? So we had about I think it was like 60 on scholarship. You can't get 60 guys to agree on nothing. You just When you think of when you think of unionizing at the NFL level you're looking at about 2000 people. Think of it. You've got what, 85 on a roster and let's just say for the big schools. It's 100 And you've got what 16 teams in your That's s O basically unionizing. The players in the NFL would be like trying to unionize all of the players in the A. C. C in terms of Around the amount of people that you're looking at are talking about and then in different parts of the country, and everybody's see The problem with college football is and even the players do get into this a little bit. Everyone is in for their own best interest. I mean, I give Trevor Laurence credit. He may not be the guy because he's going to be the number one pick regardless and play down this year. He's still going to be the number one pick in the draft, but he's out there saying that he wants to play. He He would be one who could say Hey, yo, man, Good. Whatever's decided, Okay, and then I'm out this piece and he didn't have to worry about it. He seems to be one of those that's pushing it. I think it's really tough to get all of these guys to agree on everything. And that's why the union mean the fact that It's on ly right now. What was the letter in the players? Serena was the players from the Pac 12 in the big 10. I do believe it, Wass. You couldn't even get all of them together to put their name on that. That piece there was on the player's Tribune. That's what this makes this fascinating story on a lot of different levels because there are a lot of people that air complicity in college football being in this spot and again, But business is complicating things as much as covert is.

"Pharaoh US Open. That's such. A bigger shock. Then Serena Williams when when I say. This was it felt like, but like even Serena Williams be thrown a viral in the US. I. Feel like me as a Stan I'm going to be like, but you'd be fewer and firearms your. Like. Four as you be ruined over on the Laurel. Empty. Stadium. But. At, the same time. With the with the women's game if even if it was not Serena and at some random player who walks away with with the trophy, whatever as still wouldn't really be like super shocking because you know every every year that some random chick winning a slam host, the paint Co. France random his. Ten Ten and winning the Australian Open was pretty random like. Bardy came through one Paris like it. Right? It's. Always. Serena Beets Kenan in the final, is there an Asterisk by that? That's the things not be kids. Yeah. This thing I mean like I don't. Yeah. Somebody wanting twenty three other slams like kiss my ass to be honest. Whoever I it's, it's going to be a random girl because there's a random girl every single time nobody else's dominating. So it's not like Serena needs to go through a list of players order for there not to make. Asterix Serena is I don't think I don't think that we and the most people don't ask about it but I feel like most of the. Of. The haters Luke within. The people who always. Serena loses round to be if we're going to be like all others. No Astros. But if she when magazines Dan's were put an astor, they're gonNA say they're gonNA say. You're on the final. Saw Bussey was the but I I I asked it was canceled Hamas thing. But? I think the. was like I said it really the men's the men's event. Is. I think that's really where. I will definitely fixated on Serena Williams but. They will also be, I, WANNA I wanNA say almost equally on the men's tournament which they haven't been there very long time because. At this at the way standing right now the. They would only have to go through Jovovich to to win the title. And we've seen a few of them prove that they. They can beat him. You know when they don't have to battle through a bunch of a bunch of the other guys I. Like we've seen team, we've seen take its own we've seen. Sixty five tickets. So I think it'll be interesting to see if he gets somebody like that like in the semifinal or the quarters of. Barron teeny. Joke it's like. What two three times he'd beat them in. Canada. He beat him in. He beat him again today. Where where? The two, thousand eighteen was okay. I mean, I mean, imagine going through barren TV's the team to get. Stuff going through going through Rafa Roger Joke can fire. You know what I mean it's not going to be the same. I would say somebody like. If Dominic team where to win. I don't think is now I think they will. I'm not claiming this I don't want him to win, but I'm saying if he. Were there would be less of an Astra's by his name because we've seen him play multiple slam finals and be able to like he was he was very, very close to winning the Australian let's not forget it. Yeah. So I don't think there and. Yeah. So I don't think there would be as much of an astros by ham is it would be by poss- or Bertini or somebody coming through winning. Faster I mean in the swatted ten s astras are very dependent upon. Who We want to win? So, wed, we retroactively apply Asser as two losers are winners. It's very much dependent upon. WHO. The general public would have liked to win versus who we. Or would not expect. If Andy Murray when this championship with there being ashtrays. is a fantastic question in. there. Because it will be fantastic. I would've loved I would love him to embed. It depends we play. If he plays you know if he he played like a fog Dini and then like. You know whoever? Like raked thirtyish Let's be like, but is there an Asterix by his twenty sixteen Wimbledon title like Houdini be then? Definitely. Not. Me See back then. In the back of the difference is back then Andy Murray was still at the top of the game. You don't want to lose in the world right now he's like injured in not injured, but coming off an injury and not. As a top player he wasn't beating Novak. Even as a top player, he wasn't beating all. He wasn't beating those other three players up there with him, but he was beaten everybody else. But. I've got. So I'm asking is how? Do we apply. No, we don't apply ascertain Murray's lands. Absolutely. Not We do not do that. We don't. Mind you mind you. He did be joking, but for two of his lambs, so you know. Wash. Yes, it needed so they. Think, its was playing up to par in those matches. WHO's to say he would've been he made a metronet final two and bright bright. Over there. Yeah. Were there on the. They'll play the lost, right. Roger was not there in sixteen o whatever who cares and that's like. Let's. Let's bring back like a wrong child as math linzie and. All like Martina for twenty, twenty US Open. Let's see what to know like maybe tomorrow anyway. They all played the are want. Any beat them all and survived. So there's no asterisk they played on they have the same like odds to win and the. Vale why is there a difference between then.

To two minutes in Japan, like Tokyo and. I don't know is that body of at still happening I? Knew what? I was GONNA say some some other shit about to age me like. Like. Stuck Guard but that's been in the fall like. Thirteen years has. Been in Asia for like ten thousand years finding we're talking about. Revenue last I members Doug Guard being eight. I think the girl was still in the in the fall in. A Way I'm? Just, my my my my my two thousands. Stats just way over my two thousand, ten stats for for for professional tennis all for whatever reason I could just remember everything like a big Babe era through two thousand ten I remember all that shit way better than I remember anything. That sometime, my mind just does that. This this this Americans will by the interesting and also the US Open Announced, like more rules for their for their bubble like it's actually going to be an actual bubble this time because I announced ousted they I guess they were just. Plan on to rely on the players to you know just not to go out into the city and you know why on them to take their own health into consideration, the health of others but now They get they get from the tournament that they leave the bubble. And like if their members of their team or the Danielle, Collins. Aware. If they if they're coaches. Or anybody from their team leaves the bubble returns been they get They had to leave immediately like within like twenty four hours they have to leave and they get their credentials revoked for next year's tournament. So I'm glad to see that there's consequences for people violating the bubble because if there wasn't then those people are just GonNa go do whatever they wanted to do. Wait like was Danielle. She's the only one I can think that was actually from event. Yup. Yeah. That's everybody because I think I think working ten is the only the only thing so far that's had an actual bubble like what the rule like that I think there was only one had anything like that so far. and. that. was interesting to see because they. They I, guess they were doing their best, but they weren't dissing that much except for Venus. Venus had a masking. She wasn't standing next to these people will she wasn't shaken hands it was strictly elbows, rackets hats from her was great to see that. This New Disease. You cannot fuck around. Yeah. So It was It's interesting I'm glad I'm glad they have these these rules in place because. They think they're definitely needed. Because as these players have already shown, they cannot be trusted. In Collins when she got a she said she, she didn't know that she couldn't leave or something. But she and he told her to stay going. Well I guess we should move on and look at the. Upcoming, draws for this week we have tournaments in Lexington in Prague. In Lexington. Of course, we have the number one seed Serena. First of all, what shoutout to Kentucky Derby Open whatever y'all term is called for a waiting to last yesterday drawn because we're supposed to hit his don't already in. What to law? I noticed your first time doing this but my goodness. Draw Rocky Mount Slowly and so we do not understand Way Back to Serena, she has her first now first round versus Bernard a Pero. The interesting super interesting mentioned. The section is a first drawn between Venus Williams and become a Rinca. which could be? A core magic not. Right when there? was also a first round, right? They played first round in offline. Venus one that one in three. and. Then the winner of that match plays the winner of Serena Emperor. Sloan. Stevens is also in this quarter. Even. She got a walk to the quarter. Basically she gets a qualifier against or Slow might lose go. Listen I mean when's the last time Sloan one. Anything. To Make A QUARTER-FINAL FROM HERE I don't think that any mad is an overlook for her at this point I think she really needs to. is a really good opportunity for her I hope she really has had a good training blog and she's confidence. You know I feel like. A lot of these tournaments, right our completely toss ups because. Everybody we know exactly this is like you know the the year starting over at this point and. Some players have different mentalities than they used to think I think a lot of younger or players that have. Played historically challengers or something you know lower quality events really might be able to punch through because they have been more confidence with no crowds and you know with a little bit more a little bit less media interaction action I really think that. You know it's GonNa be interesting to see which of these players can really punch through a draw that you know and normal week looks impossible but we all see what He. Did in Palermo this week. So you really really never now..

He got some really nice defense behind him. Serena shot to crone at first down a good room one relay back to first, and they turn the double play with Spencer. Terrible coming over to cover first. That's about the only way you're gonna double of Newman. That was a bullet. And Crone starts the 361 double play. Murphy ends up on third. Great work by Crone and Turnbull getting over to cover first the throw from good room just beating Newman to the bag at first double play, and then Turnbull got built on a soft light ball to right to end that threat.

"In our first episode, we explored how an unlikely pair of sisters from Compton. California grew into tennis prodigies Venus Williams, the older of the two was the first to turn professional at the age of fourteen. She found success almost immediately and soon her sister Serena would follow. This episode to Serena Means Business. It's late. January, nineteen, ninety eight and the worst of the scorching afternoon heat Melbourne beats down on the hard court that's hosting the match between Venus and Serena Williams in the Australian Open. The tour used to the L., a. asphalt giving off crazy heat in the summer, but nothing can prepare you for your first time on the Australian courts in the summer season. Venus instantly notices the difference. As she walks onto the blistering hot court Melbourne the rubber of her sneakers seems to melt and stick to the court with each step. As, the crowd sees her enter. She's hit with a wave of loud cheers. Her Father Richard. Williams is once again not in the stands, but her mother Oracene sits in the players Fox fanning herself. Over to Santa Court now the Williams match Venus, Williams and Serena Williams. About to start their match. The match starts out close and the first set goes to a tie-break at six games all. The sisters are playing as competitively as any time. Their father let them face off against each other incompetent. He rarely turned them against each other, and this set is showing why as they exchanged groundstrokes in heated baseline rallies? They're blistering strokes. Make it obvious that they want to bury each other on each shot. They both hit the ball harder than basically. Any other woman has on this court, and they can run down each other's powerful shots more quickly than anyone else can as well. The ball is a blur going back and forth and sewer. They're white sneakers as they flash from one baseline corner to the other. The sisters are style, the like in white dresses white beads, but it's Venus. Who stands out as the faster and Calmer Williams today? Venus edges out Serena and the first set tiebreak then she breaks arena serve early in the second set to pull away for good. as Venus closes in on the victory, she looks across. The court at Serena's is for the first time since they took the court, nothing makes her happier than winning a match at a grand. Slam but nothing makes her sadder than seeing Serena lose. For a brief second. She wonders if this is worth it. If beating the entire world is worth having to also beat her sister. The match ends when Serena Nets a backhand. The crowd erupts, but Venus isn't sure how to feel. She extends a hand at the net like she would to any competitor, but then puts her arm around Serena to console her like a sister. Part only briefly to shake hands with the umpire, and then Serena reaches back for Venus and she suddenly smiling. Let's take a bow. Serena says and Venus agrees relieved. She hasn't broken her little sister's heart. Hand like Broadway Stars after a successful opening night, Venus and Serena how to the crowd as the crowd roars. Finally Miles from. Soon after Venus speaks to the media, it was weird. I guess it was weird all day. Place Arena. But. I don't know this is kind of you. Don't want it to happen this way. We're GONNA make a pact number one number two, so we only meet missiles won't care because really for the title. Venus trying to tell herself that being one in to feel better than this, but she already knows she's lying to herself. She knows that Serena will never settle for being number two. So It's a little over a year after the Williams sisters faced off at the Aussie. Open and Richard Williams is walking into a pack media room at the Lipton Championships in Miami. The early spring tournament is not officially one of the sports. Slams, but it's still prestigious, and it's often called the fifth slam tickets for the tournaments. Bigger matchups always sell out, but today is special things Richard. Venus is playing Serena for the first time this year and this time it's in the tournament finals. TV personalities and newspaper reporters alike fill the pressroom hours before the match and Richard Is, they're holding court, and giving all of the sound bites needed to hype. The Williams versus Williams final. No parent alive has built such successful professional tennis players Richard and his girls are still teenagers. have been famous siblings on tour like John McEnroe and his little brother. Patrick or Chris Evert and her little sister Jeannie, but in those families, the bigger star completely outshine the lesser life. Even as teenagers. It's already clear that Venus and Serena are both stars in their own right. The Williams Constellation which has been a fascination for sports. Fans everywhere is now writing. The tour and Richard is basking in the glow. Richard stands at a large turn in front of a variety of print, digital and TV media members almost all of whom are white. He grabs the Mike and holds on tight, and then he sounds off on a wide variety of topics including what he claims is his multimillion dollar business. He points to his hat embroidered with the logo of Williams and Williams. He says his company will start publishing cartoons. It's also a charter bus company. He adds and do some work with mortgages. Reporters then turn the conversation to the real business at hand Richards prediction for the head to head matchup between his daughters the second time they've played ever and the first time they've faced each other in a tournament final. Richard knows that Serena always has an edge to her. He knows she'll be the better tennis player eventually, and the reason is simple. Serena is just flat out meaner. One time, a friend of Richard's had gifted ceramic piggy banks to Venus Serena and there are other three sisters in the House Serena accidentally brokers. So, what did she do? She broke the other for piggybanks to. If, she couldn't have one. Nobody else could either. Richard thinks back on the story reflecting on what it means for Serena's future. He's positive show fight hard and do whatever it takes to win more trophies than Venus, and he knows she'll get there eventually. But today in their first final Richard knows. It's Venus's to win. Head to head. It's still Venus who has the clear edge. She won both of their head to head matches in nineteen, ninety eight. And now as the match is well under way down the court, Venus seems in control even with the score tight. They split the first two sets, but behind better, serving and fewer mistakes. Venus takes the third set six four to defend her title. And she improves to a perfect three zero over her little sister. We, have it. Six four in the third Venus Williams over her younger sister Serena. Gray effort by both players. It's a hug from a big sister there. What a great moment! Wow. Family yes, very much so. It wasn't the highest quality tennis that we've seen all week from either one of them, but.

The trouble with embryos

"Welcome to science fiction. Years coming to you from the Home Studio Bunker, still. Can't seem to get the doves and waterbirds to be quite when I need them to be, but look in today's show. It's a wild story about biology ethics, politics and to millionaires on a personal mission that went horribly. Why would on the case is reported John Lee? Who joins me for this show? Hi Natasha Yeah. This starts in one, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty, one with Mario and elsevier. They would to property developers from Los Angeles and they really wanted to have a child together, but they were an older couple. Yeah, that's right also was forty and Mario was fifty seven, and they couldn't do it on their own. So in one thousand, nine, hundred one. They decided to come all the way to Australia to try this brand new thing in fertilize. Fertilize Ation Ivf I mean today creating a baby using his totally commonplace, and it's a big industry over familiar. But this was the early eighties when the technology and the science was so new that this just was we'd this idea that you could create a human embryo outside of a woman's womb, and suspend its development in time to it was blowing people's minds. The moment of conception. An event that has taken place in its natural environment, the womb since the doing of human existence. Now it comes in gloss. And with a host of problems, moral, ethical and legal. So Australia was leading the way in fact with the science of RV. If that when the real couple come here, the techniques still very much being Susta, this is experimental stuff. Yeah, and one of the people who knows just how difficult those early days were is Gab, Kovacs he's a professor of obstetric gynecology at Monash University, but back then he was the clinical. Director of the IVF program at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Melbourne. was very difficult to Queen Victoria hospitals over General Hospital and everyone sort that. Is Just a phase. He wasn't going to work. It wasn't a last and we wasting. Everybody's time. When we started doing collections. We have to me. Natural Song goes on spontaneous relation, so it's not unusual to have to collect exit to I. Am for am six I am. So we had a lot of opposition. All IV of treatment started out using the so-called natural cycle method, which meant doctors had to wait for the perfect moment in a woman's natural ovulation cycle to retrieve that one egg. She created every month. If they collected at the right time, it could go on to be fertilized to make an embryo. If they time too late, they'd miss the egg and have to wait another month too early and the egg wasn't mature. Mature enough to be fertilized outside the chances here of actually getting a baby out of IV, if treatment would have been extremely low when the Rayo says rock up in Australia yet, but a talented trio at the Queen. Victoria, hospital was changing all of that, and they were about to put Australia. In the history books so I wanted to do the IV. If in a totally different way to the way they were doing it because I wanted to utilize. Methods developed in animals, scientists Alan, trounson originally trained as a bit and he was to the hospital by IVF. Pioneer cal would car would he allowed me to work with John? Laden to develop a totally different system, which was using fertility drugs to stimulate than women, so we could get more eggs and hence more embryos. Well what happened is is that actually worked? It was the system that actually work. It was a huge leap forward. They found a way to create multiple viable embryos at a time and freeze them, and every extra embryo meant another chance of creating a baby for a couple who couldn't otherwise have one is, but every stage in artificial production is still precarious. So in those early days, a significant proportion of those embers just were lost in the phrasing. Prices will only about thirteen percent five treatments ended with a live baby back then today that figure stands at about thirty percent, but even so this scientific breakthrough was life changing for Wannabe Parents Alan Trounson. An iphone they could cope with disappointment. Absolutely, you know very well essentially because. They understood. This was a very early in in terms of the research, so the chances of getting outcomes would very low if anything happened when somebody got pregnant and is is it was astonishing and so when we go to Ronald pregnancies from the methods with using John in the whole world Sunday stood up and so what what the Heck did you do? Do that. Okay, so let's meet the American couple at the heart of the story Jane. They land in Australia headed. Elsa Riaz respond to treatment will Gab Kovacs was one of the doctors at the Queen Victoria Hospital remember I said they were millionaires. That's important to this story, but back then Gab Kovacs had no idea. Just Shiva's is trashed and she spoke. In Mississippi we didn't look very well off. You ever probably struggling to spend the money to Florida squad expensive to fly back in the ninety ninety eight foods relatively much more than what they are now and with quality deal to come over here and leave over here. We felt sorry for him and most secretary always. suggestively discounted faithful porpoises Riaz who've had no idea that they were quite wealthy. He Remembers Elsa being very dramatic and difficult to deal with, but she had good reason to be all. She was very strong that a terrible history. I'll guess you've gone through Easter beforehand and they've were pretty strengthening to fly over here. They had one child who they'd lost. He was murdered. I think or an accident. Remember the D. Tough, and that's why they're really chained to have another child and off. If they're only hype, that's why to throw you. Both Mario and L.. Serena's had had children with previous partners, but they'd been a tragedy. Else's ten year old daughter had only recently died should been playing with a gun and it went off killing her that he's absolutely horrific are so that means that there was so much emotion entangled with this whole process. That's right. There was, but the process started well. Three embryos were created for the couple using else's eggs and donor sperm, so they had three chances of success. And I don't think we did about eleven o'clock midnight on a Saturday evening and she was very dramatic. Everything was sound. What's the drama? So she would her ex collected to street is beforehand a fertilize, and they would have developed and. "Welcome to new challenges remaining I am. Ben Rothenberg I'm lead on this show to be joined by Patrick Moore. The founder of the Motagua Academy coach of Serena Williams and more recently, the creator of the ultimate tennis showdown UTSA, which is one of the events springing up during this crooner virus stoppage that continues on the tours, so Patrick is here to talk about his new ups products, but also a couple other things large more largely in the sport in general to talk about emotion, antennas change in tennis room for growth in tennis as well as some of the more recent news around proposals around the US Open where limit players only having one entourage member with them onsite per player, and also how his charged Serena Williams is handling this stoppage in tour. Among other things hope you enjoy this. I've wanted to have patrick on for a long time so I'm glad to get him today here. He is help you enjoy. Very said V joined here by Patrick more talk to talk about the ultimate tennis showdown ups which you've started up. Thanks for being here for civil and I'm curious. Just this idea you had for. UTSA is this something that you had an idea for before? Or is this purely been sort of a Brainchild of this of the stop time on on tour. is both. I've been thinking about it for a long time because I aware that the average age of the fan of tennis is getting older where at sixty one years old now and it's getting older every year so. This sense, quite a lot of messages to us the first mets. A message is that. The core fans of tennis have very loyal to tennis. The started to love is probably in the seventies and eighties steel here for two years old fifty years afterwards shows that. Tennis is very addictive. It's it's a great sport, so we keep our fence, but it says also that we're not renewing our fund base so we not getting New People on board especially not. Not many young people so I thought that Dennis needed something else I'm not saying that. The ATP W have to change and the. Grand Slam something. He's great also to tradition I think they're also doing a good job at. Making their fence happy because they're still here for fifty years after, but I think it's important also to get New People on board to To to to grow the fan base of tennis, and especially to to renew its so I think for that. We need a second second league. That is more modern. That is different that proposes A. Product you can do. It doesn't sound good for sport, but it is a product because it's. Not Product a product that. That is more that. Faster more dynamic, more interactive, more modern. And that's what's better. The younger generations already interested in marketing for that can see you guys having a lot of fun with this or just taking it I want to say less seriously, but you know the the the nicknames for players that come out like. The Greek God and you know we the French flair and Matteo. Bertini the hammer like these are not things that you would have seen Wimbledon do. Had this been normal tour year right now and so I. I guess I'm curious. You're somebody who I think you know from seeing your. Thoughts on different things and you're somebody who gets thanks tennis should be. Has Room to be a lot looser, right? A lot less tied to tradition into being serious all the time potentially Zephyr. Yes but I'm a tennis fan since four years old. I gave everything I had for tennis and an often is also the way it is. So I understand that the core fans don't want change. I think steal the could be some slight changes, but. But. Basically I like tennis. The way it is is just that We don't take ourselves seriously. We WanNA. Have Fun we WANNA. Enjoy won't for me. sports is has to be all these. It has to be fun. It has to be emotional. It has to be interactive and especially in our world in twenty twenty, the will change so much and the way consumers. Watch sports and video in general. Has Changed so much in the last years I think it's important to propose a different way to Turkistan is for that reason. If we want to get you, get you offense on board. That's the only way and we have to consider also that the offer is so much bigger than what he what it used to be. The is now you have so many different sports. You have gaming. Older Serres. There are so many different. Options, so if your product is slow complicated or you need to invest three hours, minimum or two and a half hours. You have no chance to get the young people so I. Think it's very complimentary. I think both leaks can really live will next to each other and feed each other. Actually

Patrick Mouratoglou on Ultimate Tennis Showdown

"Everyone John Wartime here this week. Sports illustrated tennis podcast. Our guest is Patrick Barada. Blue is a tennis entrepreneur healed. And Namesake Academy you probably know him best as coach up Serena Williams and Coco Golf he a commentator. He's also the commissioner of the UPS. WHAT DOES UPS? Is the ultimate tennis showdown, which is What are these unsanctioned events occurring during covid? This event is happening June thirteenth through July twelfth at the more Talk Academy on the French Riviera. Players include deficits poss-. Matteo Bertini David Gafa been pair Richard Gasquet so This is another one of these events that's going on while there are new tour events, so we talk with Patrick ups, but also a bit about tennis in twenty twenty. He made some news this week when he talked about. How tennis needs an overhaul. How the? The audience is getting older and we talk about some of the possibilities in plans there. He was We recorded this full disclosure on Wednesday day before apparently, there was a press conference. He was a little bit coy about revealing the specifics of ups, but it does sound like he's going to unveil some of these innovations that that he talked about an in baked herbs so This is a good conversation we agree on some things disagree on others, but think you'll enjoy the next half hour so. So. Here's here's Patrick. Where are you? How are you? Might I get him in south France and I'm good. I'm very busy because we use that. down periods to. Be as creative as possible. Let's talk about that. You also you. You look like you got a haircut. Did yesterday. You have a good eye. Eric Good. You're the lucky ones. So you have. A big week ahead of you. We were talking actually on tennis channel just an hour ago about about. UTSA and some of the players that are going to be in the field. What what's the objectives I mean? It's the players need to play in. Events need to happen. What why do this? I do this because I feel that tennis needs to reinvent itself I know when I said it sounds a bit too much, but I explain explain why. The tennis founded getting older. The Fan base is getting older nothing against people that at a certain point, any fan base has to be renewed. If it's not renewed. People are getting older and older. At some point. It's not gonNa work anymore and when you're busy. Sixty one years old and get one year older every year. You have to start to worry and try to find solutions, so I tried to understand why we were in this situation. I realized that I level. People feel that it was better before that's. That's what I hear every day, and you probably hear the same by the way people tell me this everyday simple. Better before okay, so I ask why because we had better personalities before hand I think I think that it's not true I think we have great personalities in tennis but I think they don't dare anymore expressing their emotions and expressing who they are, it's It's It's all about being politically correct all the time, so it's not very fun for the for new fans, not very appealing. And we get real lot of diversity diverse, still game styles university with the young players, very young women being in Grand Slam finals that we don't have anymore because of rules, all this is because the rules that have been been put in place rules to prevent young players to reach the final grand slams rules. Due To intentional or not, but we destroyed and get rid of the servant players for example he says because of rules also I mean. The uniformization of the surfaces and the code of conduct which is rules also that get rid of the diversity of this person is is on court. And the percents very polished now. And I think it affects the show. The Game of tennis is incredible show of tennis I think is. Very old fashioned. and. Goal is to bring the best from the best. And also to be more modern in the way to showcase is taking into consideration how people consume videos and sports and anything actually today. The the American cliche is that there's a lot to unpack there To! What extent are you differentiating between? When when the ball is in play in when it's not because I'm looking out there and I'm seeing. I saw a sixteen year old that I will call her a girl, and not a woman I saw sixteen year old girl. Addressing a crowd about an issue having nothing to do with tennis and I see a thirty nine year old. Man is is going to get knee surgery, but continue playing in twenty twenty one and I see a much more racially diverse and nationally diverse sport than than I did twenty years ago. I push back on some of that, but I I think your your point when the balls in play. I think is a much different situation. I mean when when do you think we lost? When did we lose these fans? I think so first of all I think the game is extremely slow. I think tennis matches a marathon. You have to sit down and have a almost for the next three hours if not more. And to ask fifteen or twenty or even twenty five or thirty years old good, this is not going to happen. So! That's a big problem.

"Thank you. Sunny, how are we doing on time. We're at about forty, ran William. Okay. Quicken Jonathan. You wrote about the Serena Williams fiasco and the Washington Post. Breathlessly covered this and even had an op-ed by Billie Jean King. What I was comforted by where the comments sections by a lot of people who said, look, even people who are very, they say, staunchly feminist. This is not the hill to die on because really, you can't blame anybody else for breaking your racquet thoughts Javy oh, well, I know on I want I want your thoughts on this. What do I know I anti Serena? Yes. No, no, no, no. No, you can't. You can't say, oh, well, you know, she should be allowed to sock. I know that it's really a conundrum on the one hand three. On the other hand, the Japanese player, what am I supposed to do? But no, they it's just you can't excuse that bad and it's not a first time when things don't go her way. As we all know, then she loses her temper other our players loser temper. Yeah, that's an excusable to, okay, it's bad all across the board. But once she Brooke racket, you can't go back from that. And you can't say, oh, I'm not going to penalize you appoint was at a point at that point, not a game. It was the point. That was the point was the gay. The thief, and. Okay, so go ahead JBL but I've, I'm in sunny. What are? Where are you on on all of this? You pro- Serena anti Serena, miss official. Anti official. I am. I'm pro official in the sense that he. His calls were all technically correct. I probably would have eaten the whistle on the metoo on the euro thief line to the final. The final final day I wouldn't have. I wouldn't have penalized her a game. I don't think it's, you have to penalize a report after she smashes the racket Ryan. The the euro thief is, is the sort of judgment call that I think that a professional empire has to kind of is the sort of abuse that a professional empire has to live with on this sort of thing, but, but also I think she was, I think it was totally fair to penalize her the game because like demanding an apology on the court in front of everyone in in in such a demeaning way is like, is you can't. You can't emasculate the official like that. You just can't do it question. The game penalty since I didn't see the game was in a critical game was at an answer of game break game, or was it like you know, four one, two, five one? Or what was his Jewish? I forget she going down. It was raining that she was not likely. No, actually not going to win. This was not. I believe that what the tipping point bear was was not the euro thief, but the the professional threat of you're never going to call one of my matches again. Which is essentially threatening the guys livelihood. I mean that is a that is the the the tennis version of you'll never eat lunch in this town again, am which is I think the no, which is there's a difference between saying you're a jackass, you're cursing them out all of that and then making professional threats against somebody's career man, which is which is the thing I, I don't know. I'm just anti. I, I'm weirded out by the way people rushed out to die on this hill, and I didn't really, really quick. I mean, Serena has become in a weird way her own like cost of leber. Yeah. I mean, she's she's just like it is like the Senate live beyond, say, joke where everybody has to love surreal. You can't not love Serena, and I understand why it's not permissible to hold two thoughts in your your head at the same time. The first is that she is probably the greatest women's player ever and that she has, sir. Certainly she is American tennis and has been the face and foundation of American tennis for an decade. Now all by herself, the most important figure in American Dennis, and that, but then also a, yeah..

"Series. The shop, Stephan fattest is out this week. Joining me in our Washington DC studio. One of my favorite writers van Newkirk. The second of the Atlantic has a going van. I'm doing well. Thanks for having me very excited to have you. I kind of want to just get right into this Serena Asaka conversation because I know we have a lot to say, oh yeah, it was a wild weekend on Saturday. Naomi Osaka beat Serena Williams. Six two, six, four to win the two thousand eighteen US open. Title her first grand slam victory and also a whole lot of other stuff happened before we get into the details. I want to invite in our guest for the segment Louisa Thomas writes about tennis for the New Yorker and for racket magazine. She's also the author of the book Louisa the extraordinary life of MRs. Adams, welcome to the podcast, Lisa. Thanks for having of course before we get to the conversation. And we all think about what happened between three and Williams and Carlos Rama's. I'm gonna just give the back story. Let's get out of the way at the top for those that didn't see it or hear it on Saturday. In the second sat Rama's the chair umpire issued a code violation to Serena Williams. It's basically a warning forgetting illegal coaching because he thought her coach, Patrick Moore glue was giving her hand signals from the stands a few games after that Williams smashed her. Racket an annoyance. This was separate. It wasn't because of the accusation of coaching. She was pissed off that she lost. She lost a game in the second set. So she smashes her racket. She's given a second code violation. The penalty for a second violation is a point penalty. Williams was less upset about that penalty than about the insinuation that she and her toge had been cheating. So back to that, I filed Asian a, here's what she said to Rama's. I didn't get coaching. You need to take. You need to make an announcement that I didn't get coaching. I don't cheat. I didn't get coaching. You too. Advocating not lie. A daughter dad was ever..

"They asked if they stepped into Charlotte, of course she would, you know? So for the the French Open to say that her uniform was disrespectful. And they need to change it. You know, it does feel like a slap in the face 'cause I can't again, I know people watch it. 'cause it's iconic. I bet you. They felt insulted the whole time. You know like she how dare she, her sister always been outside of this to this very white, very elitist sport of tennis, you know, and they always let people know they still black. Yeah, always always in the, I think the thing that first-rate mean about Venus and Serena, like like them, right. Both of them girls. Is well, we'll women, but, but you know, since they've been girls for me is that I am. I, I love Serena Williams in Maine is like I love Tiger Woods only watch when they playing day plan. I ain't watching and there's just that simple to me. Yeah, but you know what, though and is not. Got out of the way I'm in the same category because Tigers a fucking cone. Yes. The is like has never say anything. I just want to say beyond even what you think and I hate to cut you out beyond even what you're saying, Serena's even higher on the level. Yes, she is. She is. But but but I said that for the fact that I know that I am not the only one that tunes into tennis when she's there, right? Your writings are higher because she's there. Then I tiger booze say with the puck, you won't say Tagliabue's is kind of winning again. So against what you motherfucking ratings went up. So in this small, so funny is that. Kind of like Tiger Woods Venus standards for women. Women get paid more to had to show her ass when she came back and was like, look bitch when people have kids and maternity leave, you can strip. They rake in like a lot of these white women who probably spitting her goddamn face. She has passed Lau to benefit them. She got everybody pay more. She gets more revenue share like she got the win more revenue share the the women's tournament get sold out before the men's tournament. At the biggest finals. You know, she's doing all this shit for a game that actually bet they don't want her there and that constantly told her that you test Tom on anybody else. You got this other bitch over here that was not insured, putt knows and doing everything she could to be her got suspended. You know, but you don't. You don't give her the vis and you didn't test terrorists much. You want and showing them on my God damn house talking about pay bit. Like for me, personally, you have got to be a special person. I vein is a Serena us special like it's almost like they were designed to deal with the racism. They were design to deal with the with with with the being called niggers. Would you go to tournament like you got to be a special parson because of told him to kiss my ass a long fucking time ago because the whole time she's been there breaking records doing all this miraculously shit. They have done nothing but disrespected her the entire time. Right? And so like like I said, I would put her even ahead of tiger. 'cause agree. You like tiger does a lot to be like, but not to black all calm down, right? Like just Weck enough, whereas conduct when not really. Okay. Guys, calm down. It's the Raina does. I mean Tigers say. Said, people need to respect Trump like two days ago. Serena would never ever would never, you know, Venus is more lay back, but Serena, I mean, in addition to, you know, like Venus definitely has some health issues and shit like that. But Serena, we all knew she was younger. And what's the past Venus at some point? And she became so dominant and so good and she still so black and so committed to our her people and everything she does is like fucking like iconic. It. You know less. I'm stepping into motherhood, like like with my fucking foot on mother who's right. Like just vicious motherhood. I'm gonna tackle this shit, you know, but being transparent and honest and vulnerable and able to talk about like complications with her pregnancy postpartum depression. You know, she's changing what it means to be the most dominant athlete in error, where we've normally seen a dominant athlete as the impervious, right?.

"Serena williams take centre court who is going for major number twenty four and i heard you you were on with freddie coleman last night you're talking about just what serena williams has accomplished and maybe how we view her not at the level that we should we appreciate serena williams like we should is it because she's females because it's tennis what your take their things because she's a woman because we look at what sees achieved and if she gets twenty four today tying the record in the open era she's already the greatest women's tennis player of all time i don't think that's a debate i think she's beyond that conversation she's one of the greatest athletes of all time serena williams is better at tennyson the brian james is a basketball she is the most dominant athlete of this era but we only talk about it in terms of women's tennis and i think part of that is we are more inclined oftentimes unfortunately to put men in that greatest conversation greatest of all time and people say no it's an individual sport we put tiger woods in his prime in that greatest of all time conversation we don't do that enough with serena and i can't understand why because to me if you give me all of the best athletes over last twenty years matt serena's number one who has been more dominant more consistent over a longer period of time than serena williams so that to me is where the conversation has to start she's on that mount rushmore of the greatest athletes of all time men or women and i think that's how to begin to view over the last twenty years you would put her number one she i would put her number one is the greatest athlete we have seen i mean think about a tiger woods is on that list for a lot of people and when tiger woods stop winning majors she continued to win majors she's coming off of just had the baby surgery she's probably seventy five percents still still the most dominant women's tennis player on the circuit so i think yeah if you told me all of the athletes of the last twenty years i don't see anyone being above serena williams on that list meyer metcalfe put serena williams last twenty years number one in terms of great athletes that we've seen above.

"I love you solutions oriented i like none of bill solutions but i love you being solution oriented go ahead yeah yes pf can't wait to promote the fielding skills challenge the night before the all star game hey buki for that you guys you know here's the thing i don't want to give her the homerun derby i'd just like to field how with all the american league power hitters is the entire american league represented by alex bregman that is it you know it's seventy gets one who came up with that but what two guys they needed on this show shohei otani to be distinct that would have been exciting but as far as all the other field is concerned they're actually interesting ballplayers reese hopkins worth a double ear flap on his helmet for goodness sakes and you buy is one of the most exciting players all the baseball if you had a feeling competition he'd be in that one too if we're not there for the home runs anyway you get to learn about some fun ballplayers it should be a good one all right remember that crazy speaking alex bregman walk off from tuesday we talked about in yesterday's show that moment only existed because kim giles a free run lead in the night jobs also to blow a gasket at aj hinch as he left the mount now to after it was close has been demoted to triple eight with pinch calling it a baseball decision he said he's not right instead of dolls and his four nine nine ray we need to get him right mentally and physically to make sure he's a contributor to our paid i'd say he's not right but man himself in the face back in may what he fire sale the demotion and it helping giles yeah and emotionally physically mentally emotionally he's got to get back you're right he had a tipper mental fit earlier new year and then against your manager i think it was both because of what he's doing on the mound and what are you doing to help his teammates kenny get back he had a meltdown in the world series last year was taken out of that role and it's really carried over to this year i don't think he's going to come back this year and the way he was so yeah i can't tell it's only been right for part of the time he's been in houston some of last season but is what he said he fell apart in the playoffs the astros are getting by without truth closer they just throw out different guys to finish games the rest of the team's great but they need to get rid of giles for a while andy showed up his manager it was bad it was on camera it was obvious body language wise there's a reason my cover their mouths with their gloves when they talk on the field is that you can't actually see what they're saying it was obviously made look that are what about.

"Go back and forth with buckets that and we thought garter account was a bad look now look i've had many a dumb twitter back and forth but usually when i find out that i've been beat teenager i love golf and hope that nobody noticed him why can't katie lift stuff like this go why did a seventeen year old saying he can't elevate team lebron steph strikes such a nerve katie it's just incredible how this stuff bothers them and you're right michael some of his took a few years to learn the proper response at twitter fights a quick sarcastic comment followed by the mute button and that person no longer exists it's all you have to do and kevin durant hasn't learned this and this is after back to back finals mvp's he's still has to convince the world of his value and it just makes no sense at all clinton that that advice advice from tom kelly star tim keller show but overall as somebody that is the charter member of the never at me allies i'm here for petty twitter beef at all time as you might like to say michael he had time that day right so if you come into his mention is going to let you know i have no problem with katie doing this this is part of the entertainment product of the nba and i love it i'm fine with the with the slot in the comments that was fun at your to put the kid in check bill plaski but to go incident deums and go back and forth you toots radio and finally than ep two kid seventeen years oh it's all about it's all about the names you mentioned the instagram it's all about lebron james and steph curry those are considered this shadowing they have shadowed durant his whole career he thinks about that he it's like it's like mentioned in woody page the tim keller show and he can't get over it would be for yourself well i i enjoy getting into a teenagers they should be putting their place he's having fun he'll the answer to this invasive longer so he doesn't have the kind of time that he had but he's just enjoying himself what's wrong with that i get i get that he's just being a regular guy i just wonder i wonder if longterm maybe after this next season these sensitivities paranoia and in front of flu something or get delegation million to make some kind of moves kinda major move still searching for something that even with some finals indie peas championships he's still has gotten to go to i don't know i gotta go michael at least for the next few we we'll see y'all.

"I think that's the most critical aspect here he's got a window three or four years and i think that there's nobody better equipped to do that then magic johnson to do what john elway did it dimmer is to get him that one final championship or at least a chance if one final championship semi vying with bill is selling lebron heff so when championship in order to be considered truly over i think i think he does because he's lebron i think your question michael was great that they were begging people to take the money and let's say the paul george taken the money and lebron hadn't come there if paul georgia's got him into the playoffs i made the team interesting that would probably be enough for him but this lebron james this is nine nine trips to the finals there's an ex they're sick of the warriors like a lot of people and they feel like this is what lebron does now he hasn't done it in the west and this is going to be his toughest task certainly with that roster there but i think for this to really be successful move on his part he's gotta win one when there's a couple of things here somebody that is very close to the street art community i find this a horrid on a lot of levels at an artist paint over their own work to save their own dignity that pains me on a basic level as for lakers fans i gotta say i kind of understand this for two reasons here's the main reason lebron puss koby out of not just the greatest laker discussion in terms of all this other stuff but the greatest of all time discussion that a lot of people thought kobe was in with jordan on on some level until the brand came along it started dominating thing so there's a two prong realization as far as a lot of fans basketball fans in a layer concern so i get the concern but if you're the type of person that's going to desecrate art is what he put it your just a jerk that has nothing to do with basketball and is foul though back to you michael part of the issue is one of the broad came in her he's already picked the team put a bunch of oddballs around him he's going to probably coach through the pressure on him but woody i gotta ask you you can't tell me it peyton manning did not wanna championship he wouldn't be considered anything other than a nice little toy they had for a couple of years they're a car you know a real hall of fame corporate bagger so to speak you cannot tell me that he didn't have to win to be considered a bronco support i making i think i totally agree with you here that that that they worked very hard if he'd had just gotten into playoffs that set those records career records that he wouldn't be recognized here or throughout the nfl but he was able to do it twice with two with two different teams he wants super bowls lebron's already done it with two teams if he can do it with a third team nobody would've ever the greatness lebron got nothing to prove to anybody is legacy is already secure i'm just saying you can't go from begging people to choose you to say yes and then when you do see okay now you gotta prove that you deserve us year we we'll give you a year bill where was your invitation to the dinner last night pacino dicaprio you know what happened i got one question of this is easy dining with but you don't get the capital how's he gonna died wednesday go down with luke walton was he have dinner with walter that's what i wanna know let's keep it moving speaking to be better than this playboy as one thing that clapback at an established writer or tv fucking here but a seventeen year old on instagram i katie jumped into comments section and burns the kid with google sleepy dole room and don't you don't know who but instead of leaving it there he takes him to.

"An incredible effort for me as motivation for the rest of my career we often measure greatness in terms of titles and turn the tennis major titles with this run to the final regardless of what happened saturday is one of those things will remember serena four and should be added when it comes to conversations about her legacy absolute art outta soon kobe stands grilled with the brawny eight or at least put an icebox for the next four years just goes to show some people penny knows no bound so artists jonas never opted to to cover his mural on a wall fabian blue barbecue restaurant in venice with white paint wins the after this clown wit and flattered it with yellow paint really do not afford that some joker repainted we don't want you know king and three and six over them you'll never say that the mule receive a lot of positive feedback but hopeful signs a pro koby antilock rahm responses josh aren't tweeted this is sad and disrespectful la we are better than this are are you you but i sit in with us and not pay with a broad build the vast majority in la does seem excited about lebron's arrival but can lakers fans koby loyalists in particular ever truly come to love lebron on that level we as mike we are a lot better than this this was senseless and it was a horrible thing to happen to a beautiful beautiful mural but the key was in the artist has set himself was the word of the king of la that's what apparently the vandals took offence to and that is where lebron stands in his image in la right now is people will not they're so worried about colby bryant legacy out here the pm dean for many for this current generation the king of la that won't accept lebron he'll have to win a championship every great laker icon except for elgin baylor won a championship in eljay retired in the middle of a championship your and got championship bring so every laker icon has a ring on his finger that he won with the lakers with brian is going to have to win at least one championship to ever be fully accepted here and this senseless horrible thing that they did this is an indication of that before we get to what i'm not sure that's fair bill let me redirect back to you for a second i don't know this fair y'all went from begging people just accept you free agent money to make you relevant again haven't been in a playoffs in five years let alone a championship and you telling me lebron has to win a title there in order to be an agenda he has he has one year to get stuff to go yeah now they're gonna give one year and then they have another free agent opening next year for choir leonard or klay thompson someone like that that's what it's got to happen no fans here fancier will be happy for year you gotta win here to be i here you've got to win the title that's just the way it is welcome to welcome to pressure lebron this is your life what it what do you say well la's hard town we know that but those those buffoons who actually paid it over the euro that's desecrating art and that makes no sense whatsoever and they should be criminalized as a result of it in regard to lebron and his legacy he's already created a legacy i think winning titles in going dates straight finals i mean la saying oh yeah you got win voice right away well it's quite possible but i saw similar situation in peyton manning when he came to denver and actually they worked very hard john elway specifically to get him one more championship so.

"Face angelique kerber in saturday's final rematch twenty six final the mother of all twenty fifty williams said quote is crazy i don't even know how to feel i literally didn't expect to do this well in my foot tournament back in sixteen months i just feel like when i don't have anything to lose i could just play so three that kind of what i'm doing close quote clinton start off our free cease into queens three thirty six a new mom and a win away from eight wimbledon's and a record tying twenty fourth major title all right have to press this was one point serena williams is my favorite athlete of all time over there to understand that so when you get into the discussion of the greatest or not there's that but i wanna make something clear here within deb to me the most about this is the fact that she came back from that injury in the french to maintain focus on a tennis level a lot of people wanna get caught up in oshii had a baby and she's coming back women have babies and come back and do things all the time that's how history works and why we have continued to save human beings so while this is obviously large accomplishment in terms of getting through that part from tennis standpoint something i think we forget a lot about serena she has moved back to her form which is the reason why the wpa and the tour is decided to change these rules which is if you're gone for pregnancy you should not be penalized for that in the rankings i really do applaud that way she's been able to stay on top of her and get back to this final just putting a little asterisk next to clinton's disclaimer about people have babies all the time and do things she did have a difficult pregnancy she is in her mid thirties and she's way past the age most women in tennis have any kind of success serena piles up these stats there like roger federer's every time you see us that you can't believe this one's true her latest she's now won twenty straight matches at wimbledon she's had a twenty win streak before it was fourteen years ago it was from two thousand and two to two thousand four here she is doing it again this would be i think her greatest championship ever if she pulls it off saturday woodrow well just to have instead they're to those great that she's one ten semi finals in a row and they only want shiver lost was to a lady named venus i appear into semi finals but just an aside i thought it was fantastic when when the tournament started she missed her daughter alexis olympia for steps and it really bothered her but she's got her with her head around on the grass courts earlier this week and i think that's fantastic that our daughter that she missed that time for is going to actually see her mother possibly win wimbledon for the first time won't that'd be fantastic but she's just said all these records over the years she is by far the best women's player of all time the best tennis player of all time and very possibly the best athlete men's or women of all time all right what an incredible accomplishment bill would he not very possibly she wins his thing in my mind she will be the greatest athlete male or female evren clinton you're right it's been done before she would be the fourth woman to win a major four fourth mom to win a major the us open air but goodness ten months ago she gave birth ten months ago she nearly died she had two operations after giving birth she was ranked at one hundred eighty i you had to fight back from the twenty fifth this is unbelievable this is unconscionable what she's doing here i don't think there's any way you can put any kind of asterix on it or anything and she would a great standard set for a great example of working moms everywhere again i love the fact that this is a working mom getting credit for all this and i i can't even greater athlete a graphic achievement what she's doing now i just want to say quickly that serena's complications during pregnancy and childbirth there's something that affect women of color in this country a lot more than they do a lot of other places in that highlighted that so that is a great point i love you say whatever happens is just.

"It's more than a working relationship they're good friends joe a scene serena at her lowest and she has a deep understanding of why serena takes losing so personally when she loses its say it's a spiral and it can take days it can take um you know a week for her to come up for air it's a very isolating dark introspective time for her there is nobody harder on themselves than than she is and i think some of it goes to the fact that she feels like she lets people down besides playing for herself i think she feels like she plays for a lot of disenfranchised groups this is what compounds every defeat for serena williams she and her sister venus were the first female superstars of color in professional tennis is she's become one of the most widely recognized female athletes in the world so there's a weight of representation that comes with being as iconic as she is serena talked about it in a speech in 2015 she just been named sports illustrated sports person of the year and on heavy bullock down on me i've had people let me down because i didn't look like them i look stronger i've had people in past me because of the colour my skin i've had people overlook me because i was a woman i had critics say i will never win another grand slam when i was only at number seven now here i stand today twenty one grand slam titles and i'm still going you know you had to young girls coming up from compton with beads who literally were going to change the face of culture and change the face of sport they were very isolated together they can you know they came in as a family unit.

"The mcenroe sound from npr that's a controversy now because serena's objected to it and because we need content in june i'm going to just give you some facts here these are facts and again i get why it is that the oppressed white man right now in two thousand seventeen is frustrated because the oppressed white man wants to say whatever it is that he wants to say bill maher has to get lectured by ice cube hey the n word that our word now you guys can't have it anymore and the oppressed white man is like why can i have it i want words i want to these words that i wanna use them however i want the way that i've always used up now not that one not yours anymore so i get though why the white man is bothered by that i don't particularly understand why it is that a statement of fact that serena williams herself has voiced would be objectionable or sexist so i'm gonna give you some more facts on this jahic knowing your member him in two thousand three joking noah's father was forty three years old he played justine henin in a friendly match at the forest national in brussels you imagine this happening today noah donned a dress for much of the match he played predominantly trick shots and the ended up winning four six six four seven six can you imagine this happening today because i can imagine mcenroe doing this playing and address against serena williams and is super that's actually said during the break because you know june i wanna watch conor mcgregor and floyd mayweather play tennis it's actually something that's got said during the break i buy it.
