"In if we're talking about supporting sierra adrenals right our adrenals are reproductive system. That's our emotions. Our relationships that is about we wanna focus on see orange colored foods again just think of the rainbow and we're just going through the spectrum of the rainbow right as we went from red to orange so foods that are rich in orange colored in orange the orange pigment for example right so say bell peppers you know orange bell peppers citrus foods. All these things are really great for the role but so are fermented foods in say seafood and nuts see so we want dietary fats dietary fats and oils. That can come from nuts disease or also great foods for the sake role great foods for a reproductive system great foods for journals and we talked about the heart rate so you said digestion digestion heart you though so just pick the person next one okay. Great or the next one is the solar plexus and that is that supports our digestion. Are liver gallbladder pancreas that is about balancing in our stomach intestine. All the whole area right art justice systems but that's about balance that's about personal power. That's about feeling in your power. That's about energy. It's feeling balance because that is third shock rap and that is were at colors that's resonates with the color yellow so you choose. Foods that are yellow in color fibers. Also really good soluble fiber whole grain lagoons. These are all foods Good good quality. Dietary carbohydrates right. These are all great foods to support our guides obviously like over talking about soluble fibers. But it's also great for our energy centers. Also great for balance i'm into these are these are these are foods in. I actually took crystal. But we'll talk about that another time but these are all foods support that energy center. So if you're feeling like your digestion is off right you can reach for you know an. I don't have everyone's reach for a banana but a banana would be a good thing because it depends on your blood sugar blood sugar levels but that's good for like the average person has got great fiber in it and and it's a healthy dietary carbohydrate. If we're talking about the heart you know the heart. Shocker is that resonates with the color green. And that's one that. I talk about a lot because we have had so much that we've had to go through collectively right individually with their families but also globally in terms of our hearts right. There's been a lot of heartbreak. Tragedy tragedy in trauma Over twenty twenty and so eating foods are in alignment with the color green which resonates with the harsh. Shocker is really really healing nurturing for your cardiovascular system. Obviously because of all the microphones all the fighter nutrients in these grains Dark green leafy vegetables. Anything that's great any green vegetables or fruit. Great for that. But it's also great for great for that heart shock route that which is about expansion growth and so when we're talking about systems that are governed by the heart shock. That is our lymphatic. You know our lungs are har- officer cardiovascular system which already mentioned but also the greens help with oxygenation circulation breathing all things that are very nurturing to our heart shock. So i can go all the way up by Those are like the years cool bottom from everything you're saying is it's just once again rationale to eat your veggies like if it's you know you know that it's like you look at some of the statements that have just persevered in nutrition and one of them is eat from the rainbow when we're saying that it's not like skittles but you know that all these different plant callers have different functions at all these different plant nutrients have different things. They do so. There's a reason that there's golden beats and red beets and red onions white onions. You know it's mother nature smart. She didn't just make all the stuff just for no reason. So the cool thing is is even if you couldn't pinpoint right now where you're where you might have some blockages or weakness. If you just focused on eating more colors yes really like. If you looked at every day. I think one of the coolest things you can do. Now that we're actually home. Cooking a benefit right is like try a different vegetable every week. Try something different so you get off your routine right. I love that yet. And that's really one of the biggest takeaways i have for every audience is that you don't don't feel pressure that you've got eat a whole rainbow of vegetables and fruits in one meal. I mean that's great if you can get sal into your salad or into your stu. Whatever it is that you're making but as as long as you're doing throughout the course of the whole day you know so from breakfast to dinner you can literally just kind of check off all this different colors. You can have different berries and stuff in the morning with your smoothie or with your oatmeal or however you like to have berries but those are two really beautiful colors that resonate with your third eye and also your route. So you know. Throughout the course of the day you can hit you know five six seven colors. You're getting those veteran new ginger getting those those minerals in those vitamins. And you know you're also targeting those energy centers and as we know when you're middle aged anywhere to forty and forty nine. You really want to prioritize. Calcium d vitamin c in iron. You get those from those leafy. Greens you get those by nurturing. Her heart shock are you're you're targeting those nutrients in as you you know whether you're in your fifties or sixties you know you have to prioritize other vitamins and nutrients but you're getting them all when you hit the rainbow you. It's very rare. I mean there are the occasional few people but for the most part if you put a bunch of nutritionists in a room. We'd probably all agree on this one site. We'd say drink more clean water. Eat more non-strategic vegetables right. I mean there you go. But here's another justification. In a way. That i think i know we've never talked about on the show for looking at this. You probably have never thought about that. Can make a big difference so Someone wanting to continue on with your work. I know you're giving away in e book. And i'm gonna put it at. Jj virgin dot com slash serena to make it easy and that's s. e. r. e. n. a. So jj virgin dot com slash serena and it is Designed for the anti-ageing lifestyle. You.

"Head and this is where energy flows in out in a constant stream and so we call them shockers. There's more than seven if you really dive into your trolley. But we focus on the seventy and essentially what it is. It's it's the link between our energetic and our physical bodies and it's that universal life force energy that connects us environmentally and spiritually and the shockers they vibrate so it's like a frequency so your understanding energy. It's it's a frequency. And what i would once you kind of study. It the shock res- as they go from the route from our spine to our head the act. They're actually in alignment to our physical organ systems. So you know. we're talking about our route. Shocker that's really like our blood. Our bones lower half of our body our legs in just this at our in our rectum in our and our till our bones all of this and the muscles in our low half of our body and as we move after talking about the sacred which is the second. Shocker that kind of governments our emotions and our adrenals and those organ systems or reproductive systems and we can go all the way up if you'd like me to others who the but but what. I decided to do as identifying where my body i receive this trauma And we're my body. I needed to start building back support. So i lost a lot of blood i needed to. I needed to eat. Foods that contain not just from physically like a lot of iron to really build that hemoglobin and bill back my blood cells but also to really kind of grammy back into my body. I needed mineral rich. Mineral rich foods foods kind of connect you with the earth kind of ground you because when this happens thinking about it when we when we have an anxiety right when something traumatic happens we feel completely ungrounded. You know we feel like we're out of control. We feel when we're stressed anxious. Any of those feelings in so what you do when you have those feelings emotionally that aligns with both our physical ener- energetic body is that your you wanna put foods into your body that that That ground you foods that are connected to the earth that are full of minerals because we know how magnesium can also help commerce system so it kind of works both ways and so. That's what that's why at that. Just like a peek into what someone can deal with their feeling stress in anxious. But you know when we go through all seven shockers in all the organ systems. There's like a whole rainbow foods that you can eat. But what's nice is. And i'll just hold up my chart that i use as chichi. Why is that the rainbow colors also aligned with those shock. Res- in so when you're eating rainbow foods you're kind of just subconsciously. Actually getting in all the fighter nutrients from the rainbow foods. But you're also connecting with each one of those energy centers so the easiest thing to remember is to always try to eat a loosely a rainbow foods throughout the course of the day. But reality is if you're working with someone you can help them go through check in with the seven centers kind of see where they are with each ones and then pinpoint dietary just like we would with your physical body if your blood. Sugar was unstable or yet adrenal issues or joint pain. You can do the same thing. Yes which is interesting. Because serena like people aren't talking about that yeah and inserts. I'm so grateful that we can talk about it now. I mean it's what i talk about on my platform quite a bit because it's something that you anyone can actually tune into 'cause you're already eating you're already eating. You're already trying to eat something that's healthy for your physical body and when you have an awareness that okay so maybe you're having emotional week. You're feel like you're juneau's or fatigue you're eating the right things drinking the right drinking the right tease having the right herbs that soothe your support adrenal fatigue. I'm gonna use that. That term in quotes. Because it's it's the kind of town we have to using posts for some people but that you want to support your adrenals. You can also have an awareness that taking in foods that support that energy center. That shock. russ that's your sake role. That's where your dreams are house. That's where that that targets a reproductive organs having foods that are supportive of that organ center can also help support your energetic body which is completely integrated with your physical body. You're craving a little sweet but you don't wanna blow your diet. No worries i gotcha. My dark chocolate coconut fibres will satisfy your sweet tooth with only one gram of sugar plus the eleven grams of fiber. Help make your gut happy and healthy to it. Tastes like a candy bar. That's actually good for you and because you're a listener you can get ten percent off while supplies last just go to. Jj virgin dot com forward slash coconut and use the code bar all in caps at checkout. Well let's let's walk through a couple of them because there's some that are so common you just mentioned one like you know stress and going on with your adrenals which i think ten years ago when we were talking adrenals people know what we're talking about. But now they know Adrenal sequel stress and this past year in twenty twenty equal stress. And so like walk us through some of the top things that you would do for that energetic body in the diet and then i'd love to tackle a couple of other ones like definitely digestion. Sarah i would think that would be a big one too. So let's let's like give some real world advice. I know you also have a gift for everybody so they can learn more. But let's do some real world advice here with some top takeaways. Because i'm willing to bet that with our audience probably stress in digestion or to the top ones. Aren't those big ones. You typically say. Hey i you know. I would say that. My biggest focus has been stressed anxiety. Obviously adrenals digestion but also The heart chakra so because it has the twenty twenties massive impact marlin anonymously. Obviously we're talking about stress rosso talking about our heart as well and with everything that's happened so so yeah so so do those three then. I've just made a little note. Okay dig in so as we talked about. We're talking about stress and anxiety and that really connects with how we feel in terms of how we feel in our safety. You know if we feel like we're in control we still safe our security so you wanna eat foods that are aligned with the color red because the color red is in alignment with the root shock rats and so red red cow or not talking like red velvet cupcakes now be clear talking about that staples. You can just hear people but you said red. I'm like oh honey. No no that we're talking about. We're definitely talking about whole foods. He knows there were talking about fruits and vegetables and then of course if you do eat. Animal protein dietary proteins. Animal protein is something that can really really really ground us as well They're they're rich in all of Vitamins nutrients the rich minerals. The rich all the things we need to act eight or physical body to also feel grounded in stable. But what i love about specifically say root vegetables if we're talking about whole foods implants and they come from the earth so they carry that mother earth energy. That is very grounding. That's why you've heard you may or may not have heard about grounding where you walk outside in your bare feet you stick your feet in the grass sticker feed in the stand or your feet in the in the Notion you walk into the water. Anything that connects you with nature that weighs very grounding but you can also do this with your foods so choose like root vegetables read rich minimal. Rich foods red color foods..

"Serena poon welcome to the podcast super excited to talk to you. Thank you so much for having me. Jj excited i am really thrilled to share you with the audience. And i want to get into your story. And how you became a nutritional alchemist because you have a very interesting concept of feeding. You know the type of diet you want for your physical body and then also the type for your energetic body. I'm just gonna put that out there as a tease. That's where we're gonna be talking about today before we get into that though. I think it's really interesting. Talk about how how you got here like what made you start to really study. Nutrition insert discover that you had to feed both these bodies. So let's let's talk your personal story and how you got here. Yeah so thank you. Thank you for Just thank you again for having me and allowing me to share so i- i dived into nutrition because of my parents journey with cancer. My daddy was diagnosed with cancer. When i was in college. And he had a head really challenging journey with that. And when he transitioned just a little over a year after that. Our mom was diagnosed with cancer. Through two months. After after he transitioned. They're both in their forty so very very young. And that that really shifted my hope perspective on what was important to me in life in what we had gone through as a family in what they had gone through and i realized that there had to be another way i really wanted to to understand how hughes food as medicine and diving into nutrition and wanting to also give that knowledge out to other people. Because we don't know as caretakers the best thing that we can do for our loved ones when they're not well so that's really kind of what started me on that journey except you know when i made this mission of wanting to take care of the people that i love and make sure they're happy and healthy into kind of spread that i left myself out of that. You know i. I find that so often. It's why i wrote warrior. Mom is is when you're a caretaker. I think that you get to this point where you feel like self-care selfish instead of self care being selfless like it's like you're so many things to do and you've got the emergent right in front of you that you get put on the backburner so yeah it's an i feel that you know even if we're mindful of it when push comes to shelvin there's there's certain situations if someone's really ill we do. We just shift our own self care down down down the priority ladder and i think. Also there's a sentiment that. I cared that a lot of people i feel can relate to in its that we think if we give it our all we think of we're completely selfless on. We sacrifice ourselves will get this wish. Granted you know from god or the universe save the people that we love and so and so what ended up happening. Was i have this sentiment and i ended up creating a lot of inflammation in my own body which ended up turning into a surgery where i had to remove damage tissue. That was inside inside my chest. Votes extreme. I mean like that like that level of damage. Well yeah and and and you know what's interesting. jj's that even realize you know. I didn't realize until the body got to that point where you're probably so focused on the emergency situation in front of you that you know you weren't even paying attention right. Yeah no and you go. And i think that again is you know just when we talk about self care that being selfish instead of selfish self love just as a way that we actually do. Take care of our bodies. You don't realize 'cause you're so focused on on other people in in your body kind of shifts into this mode so after. I had that surgery. Where at your move this damaged tissue. I actually contracted msa mersa. Which is the deadly infection. Pretty much from the or. And i ended up going through this journey of i ended up having eight surgeries in total but trying to get this mercer out and was unsuccessful for many of them and after my fourth surgery i had a massive hematoma twelve days post op loss about two leaders of blood nearly died and in that became a situation where i was forced to take care of myself. I and and and i'd always in and i was really fortunate. I had to angels in my life in. They're able to get me into a trauma a trauma center at on a weekend. They saved my life. It would patch me up. And then i had this this journey of needing to treat myself as my own client and patient and really having to raise my hemoglobin levels which had dropped down to nine back up into a healthy level where i could then go into my fifth surgery and repair the damage that had happened from this fourth wine. So so that's where. I started to really explore spirituality. Because i done all the right things with my physical health. I was exercising regularly really committed to that may nutrition was on point. I hadn't really hadn't really been practicing my spirituality in that kind of personal development equally. Cy made a commitment to talk to the spiritual healer. This master that. I'd been referred to promote family friend whose family had been speaking to her for years and i started talking to her once every three to four weeks And she worked on my energetic body you know she kind of worked on my shockers and she worked on on healing in clearing blocks in my spiritual body and so as we were going through this i thought i thought what if what if i also supported my spirit my spiritual body like what if i could use food. You know to also support. My physical body might searchable along with my physical body and as Dove into understanding. The shockers the shocker systems. How things could manifest itself from a block in our shockers in a ailment. I started looking into the different foods. And the and the frequency of foods to support those those centers as i was supporting just the healing process of my physical body and that's really where this alchemy of food nutrition kind of came into a sort of how birth but i was really doing it on myself. So how would you in. It's so great to like when you really look at it. Shouldn't we all like be our own. I for client right. You know so you have this spiritual master. Who's helping you. How would you know how would someone listening. No be able to distinguish their energetic body and distinguished some.

I mean there's so much more that i wanted to talk to you about covered. You've covered a lot ready in in some of the things that i wanted to ask you. What would you in just in terms of closing you've given us so many pools of wisdom. How do you clean up. Your mental may slit. Let's talk about that focuses hurried. I'm sure you've got a whole lot of people are thinking. Hey where does she do. Where does she do to keep herself. Black healthy beautiful. You know the organize going forward asking the right questions. And so on. Honestly i keep it so simple. You know i try to be getting. Present is one of gratitude and presence. Those are the two things and you don't you don't need. You don't need anything tangible. You can do it anywhere anytime you don't have to buy anything. Just say gratitude and presence and it just brings you into state of calm so if you can just get president especially if you are muttering in and you're and you're feeling i if it's a mess i mean just a little of breath. Work is helpful. Sir i do the four four four. Which is box may said yeah. That's right that it takes you about twenty seconds and you can just repeat it a couple of time suicide minute. You've already changed her state. And then just being. Very very has an intimate. I don't really understand what it means to be present in spoke During the key now just counting you know going to the boxer shining worn holding and counting for now your present because ours thinking about is coming or and breathing in and breathing out and holding that breath and then all sitting on your whole system and then immediately kicking into gratitude. And it's been so grateful for anything in that moment you can be grateful for just sitting here. Grateful that the fact that you're able to converse of down grateful that you are here in your live and you have all the things that you had just make it so so simple and then once you've gotten there the third thing take knowledge. Is you that you are of full powerful being you know. And that's and that's what we forget if humor body is the most co implicated machine. There is literally nothing. We're we're doing everything. Virtually we've got phones and computers and we do and there is nothing more complicated then the human body in my in my opinion and it just runs and itself heels and so if you think about it you buy yourself your sovereign self. You're incredibly powerful machine and we forget that because we forget to take that moment of presence interior lays we go to sleep here. We go to leave. We see we grieve. Our bodies work we cut and then we dive in tour film. But what happened between you know and just to take that moment in technology and it's an very tool that you can give to yourself. And so that's what i do. Obviously the days four and there's a lot and all kinds of things i've been outside of your control but when you bring that back to you when you realize that use self in control again and you are still very powerful and you. Can you have the ability to heal and you have the ability to do so much more than you acknowledge yourself for it. Changes your mindset changes your state of mind your state of being and so those are the things that i do. That's beautiful. i love that. That's so important was it helps you within environments that we are trying to change that existing. You know there's so many wrongs of society that we need to change and it can be some crushing so it's important that we have enough resilience so that we can actually cook in ourselves that we can cope untabled on. I love that. That's really mazing. We can people find out more about you and you see you on but say it again. Thank you so much. People can find me on my website. "They have different frequencies and so and then if we're thinking about let's check about the heart shocker. Dye is government colored green and that is our cardiovascular system so for talking about the topix foods that really support our cardiovascular those were all our greens micro greens are leafy greens. The sprouts all. Those things are so nutrient dense. And they're they're dense in the nutrients that really helps support our cardiovascular system but at the same time they're also supporting our heart shock rat and kind of opening up the shuckers as well so so there is so much quantum behind it right and it's really all about resonance but there is there. Is this like spiritual ethereal part of a two year mindless be open to that to really kind of bring it all together though. I really tried to make food. You know a tangible path for people who understand that you can be supporting your brain your body your liver your gut by him. But you're on your heart but you're also supporting it from an energetic places. While because every part of our body emits a frequency all organs emit a frequency. So i love how you explained there. And it's so it's so important because we are spiritual beings and you know mine is is basically a spiritual part of us and our mind through the brain and the body so you wanted coherence and you want that enhancement to happen so that you adding another dimension. We we all know that we need to find the right way eating that works for us and viewed would you saying. is you adding another dimension. Tombs of you can actually foods that can boost you in in resilience in those certain states to to understand what the different foods due to your energy levels is a way of cooking yourself to be more to be stronger and your brain j. stronger in those challenging times and just article doing that. Isn't it just when you like. You can't really so you can do that understand so out. And that's the way it was. It was such a strong theme through twenty twenty when people felt that they were locked up. You know and they felt that they had all these options removed from them. And that's where. I was trying to explain in them. But you eat new move and breathe and whether or not you're outside or inside you're already putting this friend of your infringing on your play into your body. So let's look at it from a different perspective. And if you're eating all colors of the rainbow throughout the course of your day implants you're getting you're targeting. All those energy centres all those frequencies but then the spectrum of vitamins and nutrients and fighter nutrients as. Wow and when you're when you're making that connection and you're seeing that salad and all the bright colors more than just a plate of vegetables you're seeing beyond that you're actually taking this moment before you're putting that into your body and your allowing your body just in that moment of presence and seeing that for what it is beyond just the plate of vegetables you're shifting into a para sympathetic mode so you're actually helping your body go into a mode of receiving your digestive system is now prepared you know and your mind is year releasing those biochemicals and scenario bodies ready to receive. So you're actually able to digest that food better than if you are you know in a state of inflammation or fighting fight or you're rushing. You're worried when you see that for more than just what it is you're able to receive. It actually absorb those nutrients in a different way and so is that's also all very much. Part of connor. Alchemy is just like that presence as well but intentional energy that is already is already there with your food is just taking that moment and seeing it for what it is beyond what it just seems like understanding that that carrot beyond the beta carotene vitamin c. It's another level of healing for your body. It's another level it's another tool it's another. It's something as you can build your immune system when you see it differently and that level of gratitude and appreciation also then goes into your cellular dangling and so it's what you're already already doing you know it's just like one step further on your pioneers off and so when you even if you feel that you have your limited or things are opening up now but you know when and if those moments may come again anytime that you feel that you're limited you know being something like a plate. You're the food in front of you for more than just what it is actually. You're you're empowering your physical body and your immune system because you're able to receive better and it's also a chain a reframing the mind i love this it's it's so interesting and so i'm not in my head because this really is in alignment with with with the work that i do to your mind doesn't your body is your digestive system. Your mind is running the health of your brain your body. You run running your heart your mind with your mind. Now you teaching us with to be mindfully attentional to the food choices the impact that it's having a nets the whole schedule such as such as the carrots actually something that's giving you this kind of level of energy in the morning devils amazing things because you said this not lot more than seven checkers so these a lot more these oldest nobody's energy and it's so catered and you can few actually getting empowered to facilitate that process which is amazing and then your mind work is sitting you into the right frame of mind. I mean i know from my works at if you are eating when you anxious and you just grab that. Don't think intentionally about what you're eating and what could do for you. What you putting into your mouth. You may be eating amazing the healthy meal but if you you can lose up to eighty six percent of the nutrition because for example who pancreas doesn't secrete the red. The the necessary protein required for simulation. So you know. That's this is affect on mine. Influences the brain and the body. You giving beautiful practical and logical way to harness that and to renew it and if you really worked up focusing on something like food in three logical way industry in teaching the way convenient will help calmed anura. Chemistry and deal with emotions says go to salute. Lincoln fourth feedback. Beautiful feedback loop. That's being set up. That's so interesting. So the you consoled with clients akeso so people could be going to ask you the in disa- this point if people want to know more about that we're going to put the link in the show notes but would they. Do you do personal consultations. Would you workshop. So how can people find out more do. Actually you know. There's a lot of content. That i put on my website which is soon allows dot com and then of course a my social platforms. Got chef's serena poon. We put a lot of content up. Just because i want people to understand in no and empower themselves and then to teach you know their family and their friends. I've practiced i do take on clients and do consultations. Violence people can reach out to me through. Mike context there so social. Yeah details on the web page. You're on social absolutely and we're actually putting together some basic coursework so that people can really teach l. Because it's not just about what you're putting back into your body you know needs. You're preparing food whether something you drink when you eat and then you give to someone else. You have the ability to also help boost their immune system as well. You know in the same way so so again as you said. It's this beautiful feet loop of feedback loop that we can do and so much less to do with intentionally presence in just understanding. I try to make it very very simple. You know there's so much science and data unsexy we can put behind it which is trying to keep in mind is this is why you actually do either rainbow. It is to get the spectrum of nutrients but also to support the energy centers to create that constant low neo on that cheese. Yeah that's pretty cycles of tension and release and when we get anxious with go progress through like a according things. We don't have the release in our cycles of the nationally so biochemistry cycles on your physiological cycles the energy driven by energy all spinning instead of and release tension release. What you saying is through hardcore scientific facts you can bring in and you traditional approach to help to help in the process and so nothing. That's amazing you also do other stuff okay so you. Are you talk a lot about how to turn setbacks into comebacks. Can you die but about that under. That's another era you love to talk about. I truly feel that with our very often. are opportunities. Ever challenge is a gift and definitely been through. You know a journey of challenges. My my career started because with my parents had cancer and so just slightly. Thank you know. We lost our daddy to cancer. I was in college. It was my last year but then and in two months after our was diagnosed with cancer. And they're both in their forties so she's not with us. Shoot okay but that was the beginning of my journey. You know and and thank you for your kind words. Because i wish my daddy were here but it's because of him as the naples to helps still many people in that there are certain people i know the i've impacted their lives in a way that truly of them she'll or at least make their quality of life exponentially better than what it would have been not really comes from mention. That came into me when my family went through that experience and had some of my own health issues as well in so you know and that team from a from a lack of self care so has a caregiver and end wedding to take care of my parents. This became you know my journey. But along that way. I also realized that you can't be a caregiver and self-sacrifice it doesn't work that way so that became my own personal journey of self which ended up leading meeting to having eight surgeries now. That's it will. It was a lot. It definitely wine surgery is ally you know so eight is the line the impact on your body just from the anesthesia. Learn little learn actual surgery before the surgery. And then the healing. It's huge. yeah still what. That's not me in a really know how to help. Prepare people prio stop. Dister understand like how to prepare the body. Repair the south in the to shoe to optimize in healing. The type of anesthesia are long. You're under the antibiotics all of that. Because even for me i've had eight surgeries. i have been when mersa. Dr lee amara. Save is a deadly staph infection for your listeners. That may not be aware and the amount of antibiotics not to be on. Because of this was arthur charts and even with all the antibiotics. I never got c death you know. I never had extreme. Obviously i to continue to clean the healing process. Every time with my gut and your gut affects your immune system in your mind bay. It never got to a point that a lot of people. I never liked leaky. I line people. Do get after being on outs of antibiotic because they just know how to support the guy and so this whole journey has actually allowed me to be a better practitioner. You know i'm. I'm that much better at my job and serving because i've been through and so still not. I really feel that that's where that's where the opportunities i you know of obstacles. I found opportunities to help serve more and deserve better and just as a byproduct of that my conscious has been very successful and my brand has has grown very organically just from that so i never would have thought that it was definitely not something you think at the time you know. When you're just trying to al-qaeda frightening but you can then you when you in the midst of their pain. Sorry it's frightening and then you don't realize what good good can come out of it so that it may sound so cheesy out of every obstacle is an opportunity but it really is a fat. I mean it's a really young coup fact that we can you can either take the and it can break you. You can take it and try and do something that we use focusing on enhancing and helping others. Which is yeah. I mean i really think that's the mind frame that you really have to look at everything you know whether it's code the pandemic whatever it is is just okay. Work were is an. It's not about silver lining. Necessarily you know it's really about okay. There's a lesson in here. And like how can i take what's happening. And how can i make. How can i teach you. How can i make this better. Can i use this in a way to serve. And i think that when you look at it through those lens you actually see the opportunities if you're not looking at it through those lines you won't see how you can use that particular experience challenging or not. You won't see the opportunities. But when you look through the lens of al-qaeda what can i learn from this where i can turn around. Serve others from this experience. You will see opportunities to start. They start showing up. Because.

"We nourish our bodies regularly we will be less prone to stress induced cravings in my practice of connor acne. I teach people that food is the energy of love nourishment you now. On the flip side stress carries with it the energy of fear and panic. So if you eat bounce diet that is overflowing with with plants and plant foods and everything is prepared with the intention of love. You can actually help your body and your mind ceelo nurse and grounded which can actually help reduce cravings so. I really believe that developing a mindfulness practice can help manage stress eating When not pops up. I quite often recommend taking time to learn. Breathing exercises a grounding practices or movements. That can really help you eat stress when life is relatively normal and it's sort of normal daily stress but of course you know when you experienced of high stress you'll need other tools to to kind of simmer back down and get yourself rounded relax recenter so just with most things you know learning to address stress in a way that will support your in nourish. Your body is a journey. So i would say kind of be gentle with yourself. Sure sow soon patience and self love because there are these are the foundations for why you may be triggered to reach her food and to reach for that stress eating type of type of behavior I think that one of the best things that we can do from a physical place to to change his habit is staying very hydrated so hydration is something that talk about all the time not just because helps our body function better from physical place by. It's also fundamental for proper energy

I heard through the grapevine that you were the chef for hugh hefner for many many years. So what did you like to eat. Well it's so funny. I wasn't scheffer for For hugh hefner not many many years but it was actually my first job. Yeah i did my internship there and did what they hardly on as junior chef and really with sort of like the first step into my career in me starting out on my own with my private catering and and My private chef Business that i thought they were. They were stepping down so so grateful for that opportunity. And have you know. I i mean sign like a massive any but you know half his now journey in a different a different life so i think it's fine to share. But he was so he ate so dimply like he pretty much ate the same thing every day say meow he was she like no cream cheese and applesauce and he had he had a whole team in the kitchen and we can make anything that he wanted but he really kept it super simple you know i remember him having kicking your soup and he loves his rack of lamb from new zealand. That were hand. Picked this. Typically for mr hugh hefner that was you know overnighted to us. Minute was picked minute. It would come bad act and it would go right into The refrigerator or the freezer That was one of the things you love things that a couple a couple that he always loved that he was he was really so do so easy to kick up for. Because you really like. They seem dan's comfort food. I would say was definitely one of one of has coaching. I didn't work for him. I mean he was with us in this life or into your nineties. Yeah i was gonna say you know. May he rest in peace. He definitely changed the world. That's for sure. And harry look at things no pun intended. But you are what you asked me. And i and i of cigarette you know in our our cultural. Oh absolutely yeah. What a what a connection to have right out of the gate. My gosh but we've got about about three and a half minute. So you're you're a certified ray master so You know we explain to our listeners as best you can and just a few minutes. How ray k. Works okay you know. He is is very non noninvasive. Johnson healing technique that originally came from japan. So you know it. It's commonly transit rakia actually translates from japanese as you life lifeforce. You know universal life energy. And so you're essentially is almost like you as a practitioner. You're almost like the channel the conduit and you are channelling that source energy to a statistic area so it could be a person You know an area. On a person's body it could be done distantly. You can rake iraqi all the food iraqi all our products You can send rakia disley to a situation. It just having that very focused intention of of driving that that that source energy not light and not love to a specific place. Okay so maybe no. It does make sense. And i and i love talking about this. So who's a good candidate for rocky. Oh anyone anyone anyone. So i mean who doesn't need some extra light in some extra love like it almost like receiving a blessing. So you know. I would say that anyone that feel and and even under feeling great you can you can receive ray key but if you're hearing anxious or you know If you're feeling uncertain if you're feeling like you're not yourself you know there's a good that's a you're a great candidate for getting rakia. You know if you feel like you just seen Some sort of certainty About something that you're thinking about or wondering back. I mean if you're feeling a little and chewy anyone is great candidate parade and if you're feeling amazing you're still a great candidate roy. We still have about a minute. And this is. I think this is an important question for so many out there listening. You talk about quantum touch healing. How important human touch for overall health. There's the music you got thirty seconds. Sorry we're all connected and touch and connecting. Is that kind of is that is that imaginary force. You know that source of love and connection is so important for mental health. Also i do sickle house because everything is truly interconnected. I mean that's the albany got your spiritual physical body emotional mentioned. We've got to be imbalanced for all of it and having that touch. No electricity that connects all of us. I energy that's important. You know how foods. I can't wait to have you back on. At chefs serena poon such an honor and a pleasure serena. Welcome to one life radio. Hi there thank you so much. I'm so grateful to this issue in. Thank you for the beautiful introduction. Oh you're welcome and it's an honor to have you on the show. And i think this is a topic so many people are intrigued by you. Know and don't quite understand so hopefully by the end of the show they'll have a better understanding and so but we're talking about food to and what is culinary so how do so many people have so many issues with food. Why is that. Well you know. I think that especially given the year is a great example. You know when so many things are sort of out of our control The and and when we're when we're taken outside of our country jones one of the first things we do for is food because there's an association with all of our senses when it comes to see taste touch smell and obviously visuals. The sites and so we don't realize is that food and specifically comfort foods. Really take back in place where You know there's really positive loving Nourishing memories that are often associated with it and it also something that's very easily accessible It's tangible and it kind of gives us a sense of instant gratification. The whether or not you know having something that you mommy obama made you and and having association of comfort with that or just something that immediately satisfy your senses And i think that People kind of have this perspective. Then they don't realize how nourishing that can be a really positive way It's kind of taken in the either way. We're reaching for sugars and things like that to kind of get high but when you have a really when you have a better understanding of food and the nutrients incident what is actually doing through your body. You can really use suiting. The waiver looking nourishing thing you know and and it's something that you don't have an issue with where you go to find healing Will you know when you think of alchemy. You think of you know a magical process of transformation creation or a combination of both and i think of a a a a sponsor that we had about a year ago karma baker out of california Fantastic little company and anyway they you know their thing was that they believe that you can transfer the love that you feel and spiritually through through vibration into the food. Can we talk about that. I love that you a hundred percent can so you know everything carries a frequency and vibration. You know whether or not your religious or spiritual you know that everything is energy and so students an absolutely carry a frequency. When you're you're. I talk a lot about eating grounding food. Especially if you're feeling anxious stressed or Ungrounded the that comes from the carriers vibration of the earth. And so when you're and when you're and we're all energetic being so when you're infusing food with that love and that mindfulness energy actually translates any put that back into your body and you give that to the people that you love and you know. It's not really often that secret ingredients. You know we'd say there's there's that france has love is a secret ingredient but it is because of that energetic vibration the frequency of love. No i love that. You haven't bakery as a slump there. That's cool and that's very much in line with my practice. My practice of culinary alchemy. Which is really where i teach people energy and the thoughts and intentions that you put into your food directly affected that vibration of the foods. Would you back into your body. How your body receives it. I love i love talking about this and you know i have always loved to cook and it's my love language. Actually you know one of the knowing that when i couldn't people It's because i love them. And i wanna take care of them and that that that that love that vibration. Whatever you wanna call it. I i do feel. I put it into the food with along with with good ingredients and everything else but love at the at the top of the list. But you know. So when did you start to correlate nutrition with the physical and mental well-being. Well i mean i you know i. I started my journey. Both my parents had cancer and yeah it was it was. I was still young. You know i was in college. Actually my daddy was diagnosed and he was advanced stage for Right away he was in his forties Late forties and he was with us for a little over a year and he lost that battle With cancer and then a couple of months later are mom are diagnosed and she was like forty five. He's still with us and she great and thriving and you know when you're when you're kind of in that space you're very much just kind of looking at the physical bodies. We both western and eastern medicine. So he went through the treatments. And we're using sued really. Just just eat the body. Food can also heal the body. So but that's when. I started to dive into the different types of interest in holistic nutrition eastern philosophies vetted philosophies into these plants an herbs to try to understand hiking how we use it to help my daddy and then after after he passed. I just realized that there's so many people out there that were in our petition. The didn't know didn't know more. You know than have a deep knowledge or awareness of nutrition. And what's in the food that can actually help you know you're not just your physical body but also helps with your gut and your gut. There's such a connection between your gut and your brain and how what you put into your body what you eat that food that those nutrients actually affect your mental acuity factor. Mood as extra wholeness. So you know. We've always kind of erasing all averages. You're eating food because need to have is the not realizing that what you eating directly affects how you feel. It affects your systems. And it's in my practice. You know it also affects your energy centers as well just kind of constantly. Keep you align and balance and supported Well your website is amazing Everyone i encourage you to check it out. It's serena loves dot com and you have a really cool product on their. Just add water. I want to hear about it But i'm enjoying this conversation so much and of course i would like.

"Event altogether. So we made the decision. We're gonna go virtual at that time but it took us quite a while for us to find a platform that would be as dynamic as we needed because as you know because you've been to the event for number of years It's an extremely dynamic bennett. Very hands on very It's just A very kinesthetic feeling to be at the event you feel the energy and everything so to try to translate that over two virtual event Took some doing a while to find the white Platform virtual platform. And so. we're really excited about the virtual event that we're planning to or it's never gonna be what the live event is and And that's okay and we will you know. We'll have the live event next year. And this is a time to shout out the team daily wessex because these people have people were handpicked to put on a live event. That's wheelhouse and that's their expertise and they all of them have have have had to shift and learn. New skill sets legal. A bowl this off. It's not it's not ea- as easy as just doing a quote unquote virtual event. Which i think many people think and from the outside looking in with look that way. But i can. I can tell you. It's not like that at all different business mobile app absolutely and i know just for myself personally on radio. I remember the day that i got the call and they said you're going to start doing the show from home and i was. I knew that could happen. But i wasn't. I wasn't prepared mentally. I had the equipment. Not well. I did but i had to buy new equipment but anyway none of that matters but i completely understand because i have had to like. I've really struggled this year. But i stayed on the air. I haven't missed a show since november of last year. I've worked through it trying to bring as much good information and calm to our listeners. Out there through one of the most difficult periods in the history of the world thus far. So yeah i mean i know what that feels like a firsthand but you know For people that are maybe just now getting their cars and joining us. Can you tell us how. The virtual event will work again. And then we'll go to seven pillars again. Yes so You can get access by going. Pillow affects dot com forward slash virtual signing up and you can either have one day access or thirty to access. I highly recommend thirty eight day access. It's not that much more money than the one day access. And then you'll have time to really go through and watch everything and you Can interact of a game indication of the the the entire thing. So that if you attend if you attend Different sessions you get points and you attend if you go to all the exhibitor booths you get points and then you can win prizes. Were going to be giving away quite a few prizes throughout the entire event and so Yeah it's gonna be a lot of fun and a lot of networking opportunities to See really great content. Great information and excellent speakers the other piece that. I'm really excited about so a lot of people that have been able to attend the live. Event love the aspect that they have the so interactive that they have this opportunity to really get involved and ask questions and and Have have interaction with the speakers from the stage. This is a really cool feature of our virtual platform so that there are a number of speakers that are going to actually be doing live. breakout sessions and dave assery is one of them. Not all of them can do it because not everybody's available on saturday to be able to to do that but there's a large number of them they're going to be doing breakout sessions where you're going to have a really intimate to ask questions and talk with these speakers which i think is super cool. So i'm really excited about that. Aspect of the virtual event. I think that's something that's really interesting and different than Probably a lot of other events have done or And the fact that we're doing this and we it's it's kind of a really cool Situation versus being able to do the questions at the at the event where you're kind of An anonymous person in the crowd asking a question of a speaker. Or what have you. This is going to be a lot more intimate and online. And they'll the speaker will know who you are. What your name is and everything. You're asking the questions bernadette. One thing i'd like to add that your listeners may not know is for those who have been to the live. Event or exhibitor floor is full chock full of exhibitors who have passed muster. It's not just anybody who strokes check gets on the paleo. Thanks for they have to be betted. Heavily vetted and the same. It's going to be true. For the virtual event. Every exhibitor every sponsor there has been heavily vetted to be the highest quality. The best of the best of the best. You can be assured if you've come across an exhibitor at our event either virtual or they have passed the test absolutely. The criteria criteria is tough. And i'm the same way of the same mind mindset again especially on that. Why would you endorse something that you don't believe in or actually use yourself and and know the science behind it right So yeah so the seven pillars of health. We've got a few minutes to go over these. I've written down the ones that i remember. I don't have my little book where i wrote them. Down the other night but Nutrition mental emotional physical and spiritual. I know there's two markers or seven and that's only five so let's start at the top so Okay so physical Obviously your physical health. What you eat. how you workout How you sleep. What your stress level that kind of thing is part of the physical and the mental is going to be Definitely the mental stress. And you know how you think The the type of thinking that you is it positive. What have you been. And then you know being a critical thinker that type of thing One of the things affects is. We're never going to tell you what to think. We're going to tell you how to think we're gonna teach you how to ask the right questions and it gets right to the right answer for because my right answer may not be yours or keith. Or or years bernadette or anybody else's my right answer and my particular paleo lifestyle is completely different than everybody else's and there's as many paleo diets as there are humans on the planet so the thing is is that your paleo could look like kito. It could look true paleo. It could look prime only could look. Low-carbon can look carnivore. It could look vegan. it could look vegetarian. Really totally depends on the individual and what works for them and so the real thing comes down to removing all the toxins from your life and the toxins are not just in your food but there in your environment. That's what you put on your skin. It's what you clean your house with. It is the toxic thoughts it is people. Toxic getting rid of those Things so and then the other thing is there's the spiritual aspect and there's tribal you need to have a community and a and a life team is what we call it. You need to have a life team that supports you that they are your chosen family. You may have a family and that is really great and very supportive and wonderful and there's a lot of us that don't and so Then you need to choose your family. You need to choose that family. That's gonna be there for you and it doesn't have to be a whole lot of people but you know that's that's an important aspect of being a truly optimized healthy human being and then So we have. We've gone through physical mental emotional These are all of the feelings. Your feelings are important. And there's not a single thing wrong with any feeling you have and the problem that we have in particularly in this country as that we tamp down feelings and we. They are unacceptable or inappropriate and that is totally not true because the emotional aspect of of us. Humans is one of the things that makes us the most dynamic. We are the only species that can have thought and completely change entire chemical makeup. Wow and that's really important when you actually feel the feelings that you have and allow them to come through because the trapped emotions. The trauma in the body is what calls causes disease and epi The the next one would be relational obviously relationships. That's going to be more personal and enter more Necessarily the whole tribe or community that you have but the in the individual relationships that you have and the relationship that you have with yourself then their spiritual and then and again. We're not gonna tell you what to think but believing in something is really important for all of us because of the aspect of your direct connection to god divine universe. Whatever you want to call it is really important for your health. And then financial Obviously if you don't have health it highly likely you're not gonna have very You're not going to be very wealthy and that's really true. Health causes wealth. Yeah and that's the one i was forget. I forgotten about That's one of them the other one. I dunno whatever. When i think it was relational Yeah but i. But i love that. You're bringing this altogether and good for you both for continuing on and pushing through this very difficult time in our country and making it happen regardless any way that you can put a quote on social. You know when the going. My dad used to say this when the going gets tough the tough get going. you know. that's that's kind of how i feel about halio. Fx right anytime adaptable survive. They not only survive thrive and that. My dad really didn't talk like that. He actually talked like this. Because the tally but anyway it's so great to have you guys on the air with us today. And i will be there on saturday watching and i wish you the best of luck and we're gonna be talking about all week long tomorrow. Dave aspreys on the show. I'm so excited. "Doctors. Yeah yeah dr pedram show was on the show just a couple of weeks ago. He was so incredibly outstanding one of the best speakers. I've had on the show incredible. Yeah he's he's amazing and he's a just an incredible human being he's been involved in another event that we are involved in which is mindshare And he is you know they say. The rising tide raises all ships. And he's part of that and really is an incredible person in really helping. Lift everyone else. And you ask see from these speakers that this is not just a diet and exercise Invent this covers every aspect of human optimization every aspect. it's definitely well. we're gonna no no you go ahead. I was just going to name a couple more speakers and everything that are really really incredible speakers Read davis Dot he's been read. Davis has been a speaker for us for years. Dr dan stickler dr micra hamilton nick owner. We're really excited to have him. And dr david for sally. l. Russ and dr trevor cates. Which don't let that name. She's absolutely gorgeous driver. Her name is is trevor. Funny well i kind of have a boy named to people growing up called me bernie. So but you know. I can't wait to hear more about the seven pillars of health. But i wanna ask you this before we go to break here in just a minute or two. Covert has affected so many people in so many ways. Keith michell so what was it like for you. Learning of the outbreak and the quarantine around the same time of your yearly event Well it was quite a shock because we were actually in utah the weekend that they cancelled south by south by by south west And then the following day when we were getting ready to fly back from utah back to us and we I got an email from the city of austin and they had sent us Our request to comply with their strategic risk mitigation plan and basically it was if we were over twenty five hundred attendees which we are where we were over eighty five hundred at the last live event and so we were expecting ten thousand this year and They said if we could not comply with the strategic risk we need we allow us to move forward so we got rescheduled and Because there was an absolutely no way for us to comply. They said that we had to agree. Twenty five hundred people would not be in close proximity to each other at any given point in that twenty. Five hundred people would not be in any one location on the site at any one given point which we can't have you know. There's no way we could control that either so Anyway so it's been an interesting ride. I do know this though. The one thing that cove it has done that as an an incredible opportunity for all of us is for everyone to really recognize how important your health and the thing is is what makes you vulnerable to a virus is co morbidity the things that are are completely changeable by lifestyle and so that is the one thing that i can honestly say you will get access we will tell you all the information and then you decide what works for you and you discard the rest but we will give you an outline of the perfect way to get your e the hell new and mental and emotional wellbeing is part of that as well it is just as important as physical wellbeing if not more so important absolutely absolutely last night you talked about freedom a last night i just happen to have read this quote on social media was on an informed mothers but anyway this is what this is quoted as opposed to actually but i found it so interesting and i immediately thought about you michelle because we're very like minded on this and keith as well about freedom our freedoms to take care of our bodies the way we choose not the way the government chooses and and i think it's important freedom that we need to hold onto liberty but the quote or the post said this you know why they don't spray kids with ddt anymore because someone questioned the quota settled science and i think that that's kind of what paleo f x is to me that we're always keeping our mind open right and finding and better ways to improve our health. Our wellbeing both spiritually mentally physically and emotionally. As you said keith. What do you think about that. Absolutely true never never never seed. You're right to question or be shamed into nut questioning young. We're seeing that at a huge scale right now with all the censorship that you're seeing across social media and everything and so yeah it is absolutely you know our that faxes challenge already defy dogma demand different and we will always do that because at the end of the day it is in not only in our best interests but it is absolutely the most patriotic thing that you can do is to question authority absolutely. I couldn't. i couldn't agree more great time to go to break. We've got more coming up with keith and michelle norris. They are the founders of paleo f x one of the largest paleo platforms in the world. You can find them at paleo. F x dot com stay tuned. We'll be right back..

"Iheart media as well as k. m. e. in southern california on. Abc news talk happy. What's today wednesday happy wednesday. Everyone feel the same way. I feel you on that. Oh my god this morning. I'm not kidding you. I had roof guys here and i'm telling you this is like a what's the name of that with the money pet. I own it actually is a good movie But we're gonna have a great show today. Because i've got news. We have some very special guests here with us. Today we've got keith. Michelle norris They are the founders of paleo f x one of the largest paleo platforms in the world. Their website is paleo. F x dot com on instagram at paleo fx. I love these two people. Keith and michelle. Norris welcome back to one live radio. Thanks for having a high. Are you full of energy. It's coming down to the wire here. It's going to be saturday. And we're we're so thrilled to have you guys back to talk about. Virtual paleo affects to one twenty. And so you know michelle and keith for those. That aren't familiar. What was the motivation. Behind the creation of paleo f x. And what does it. What does this event mean to you today. Well payment fax was kind of inspired. Our daughter britney was killed in a car accident. Eleven and a half years ago and she was a music and worship ministry major. She was killed three days before her twenty third birthday in week before her college graduation she had planned to be a minister and work in the mission field and We held her first memorial service. On what would have been her twenty third birthday and there were about seven hundred people in attendance and they had a receiving line for us and we literally almost received all of those people and they were telling us how britney had really change their lives and very specific and very profound ways and so we were inspired. You know even being you know kinda nominal autopilot to carry on that legacy and so we kinda struggled with what that would look like because bernice gifts are very different from ours. Shoes very gifted musician and singer. And you know that's just not what we do so we were trying to figure out what it would look like to carry on her legacy of changing lives In our way and then when we realized we just needed to operate in our own gifts which is Dude nutrition fitness health wellness all of that that We would eventually land on paleo affects and So it was an interest and did the ancestral health symposium in two thousand eleven brittany was killed in two thousand nine and in two thousand eleven in august. We were After the and that an inaugural in sexual health symposium which is very decidedly academic symposium that discusses the science behind paleo and We were real excited to attend it. But we were sitting on the runway at lax. Getting ready to fly home. And i was telling keith you know the thing that was missing. Is they really need to show people how to do this. Like they should have cooking demonstrations and they should have movement showing people how to work out all of that stuff and keep said well. They're an academic conference. I don't think they're going to do that and We sat there talking and we decided that we were going to do that. Because that was the component that was truly missing in. All of this was where the rubber meets the road You know taking the theory and putting it into practice because people are happy. Science exists paleo. But if they don't know how to use the science it's kind of irrelevant to them and it's and they become indifferent to it so i love it now. I'm sorry no no. No i just said i love it so now Paleo for us now really truly means freedom It is the basis of everything that can make you free. And so We talk about the seven pillars health which are physical mental emotional relationship financial spiritual and tribal and so and we also talk about that in an apartment book uprising. and basically. if the if you kind of envision domino's in a circle this is how the pillars are and they all are interdependent on each other and if one goes down the rest are going to go down and so we really talk about how to be a free critically thinking human who is optimized and Who is you know fully actualized as the complete potential but they are as a human so That's really what it means to us now is really Creating freedom and reclaiming your freedom as a human. I love it. So let's talk about the the event. It's saturday so what did the listeners need to know. In order to get involved And with paleo. F x twenty twenty virtual. What do they need to do. They can go to pay affects dot com forward slash virtual and. they'll see the landing page and They can sign up. They can do the one day access. It's saturday november the fourteenth from nine. Am to seven pm central time and they can get the one day access or they can buy the vip that gives them the thirty day access to To everything that can't 'cause it's there's a lot of amazing speakers so it's a lot to try to consume in one day so having thirty days to be able to consume it is a really great A great value and we would say get the get a thirty day access pony up for that because there is so much information. You're just not gonna be able to soak it all in in one day. I mean we have really packed his schedule. Out for maximum value for people Well i think that's going to be my option. Because i don't wanna miss anything so well how many what kind of speakers. I know that sean. Wells is one of the speakers. And dave asprey. Who's going to be on the show tomorrow. Little sneak peek. I'm so excited about it. But who else is going to be with you. L. with paleo affects virtual twenty twenty. What are some of your other guests. We have Jim quick.
