He is still on the NFL exemplifies still not eligible to play yet. But he has been signed by the Browns by former chiefs general manager John Dorsey, what's he understands his situation. "And you'll notice that new format they're mixed in there that advertisements is part of Espy nation's newest process going forward. Nothing to do with us. We didn't put anything in there. We're not making any money off those ads per se. So it's just Espy nations thing you'll find all the SP nations podcasts across the entire network. So we do thank you for bearing with us through that short brief break. We'll talk about that coaching staff. Nothing has been finalised with any coaches. But we've heard all the rumors Jim called we'll coming in. As a senior assistant. Dolphins are talking to Dom Capers trying to get him coming in as a defensive senior assistant. We're looking at Patrick Graham from the Green Bay Packers. As defensive coordinator, we're looking at Chad Ochej is the offense coordinator bringing over the assistant patriots quarterbacks. Coach through the dolphins quarterbacks. Coach, Eric studs. You'll running backs coach all signs point him. Staying is sounds like Tony Oden. We'll be staying as well the defensive backs coach, and we don't know. Fully about the other guys. We do know Shawn Jefferson has gone. We do know Chris Eric the defensive line. Coach is gone. Sounds like Jeremiah Washburn has gone as well. And also a few other coaches that have gone elsewhere. The biggest one biggest name I should say is Darren Rizzi and Matt Burke leaving as well. So there will be lots of changes, I expect some names to come out this week. But I really really do like the way they're building the staff they have the young coordinators with the senior guys to lean on him, Brian floors selene on those guys as well as he becomes a head coach and prepares to deal with a lot more than he's ever dealt with before. Obviously as you're the man in charge, you're in charge of pretty much the entire football team, the operations there working alongside Chris you're gonna wait to get things that come across your desk that you're normally not used to Ryan floors has been preparing himself for this to make sure that he understands what to expect obviously never know what to expect until actually happens. "Hitting fierce snowstorms for like two hours in the sun comes out. Don't you love Denver? We love this weather, very strange. My head the okay, and my headphones are really loud. We have guests to start off the show. So we can't waste any time. Here Rebecca Rosen, by the way coming up about four thirty-six year. We're already getting calls for so we're going to bring on the new defensive coordinator for your Denver Broncos. They had the press conference today and. Introduced all of the new coaches the coaching staff for Vic Fangio, and we welcome Donna tell back to Denver. Ed, how you doing doing great, Dave? How you doing good? This is Rick Lewis Dave Logan here with I'm here to Eddie. Welcome. Welcome back. Hey, thanks a lot. Dave having some more successful seasons. Took another team to the finals. Yeah. We we came up. We came up short the last game. But proud of proud of that crew, and it's been fun. It you know, you I was trying to think back you were with you were here with Mike back in the back in the heyday back when you guys are winning championships. For people that don't know after that time. And until now, I've got a pretty good idea. What you've been doing? But just go over kind of where you've been what you've done. Yeah. Just just kind of went onto the body of work. Did the Broncos did that I was part of made it attractive at the Green Bay Packers hired me there, and I was coordinated air for years. And then I went on and was coordinator at the Atlanta Falcons for three more. And then I came back to the I went up to New York Jets to be a senior assistant for Eric Mangini. And then I went on back to the Broncos for two and then joined up with Vic Fangio at the with Jim Harbaugh at the San Francisco forty Niners. We did four years there together and then onto Chicago with so we've had a partnership of eight years and and looking to keep a strong. So what makes in your mind, what makes Vic Fangio specialists a head coach? Yeah. You know, he's been a student of the game for thirty some years, and he has great command of the rules. He's like a master chess player this guy. This guy knows all the details. So he can put some custom game plans together. And you know, and and he calls it up really well at the game understands offense to the T. So that gives us a little edge. Ed, hey, it's Rick Lewis. Some people say, David I sound alike. I don't hear it. But I don't hear it. Either. A lot of people say that a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. So have you guys this figured out what the roles are going to be between you and Vic? It seemed like Vic at at his first press conference indicated that he'd be calling making the defensive calls from the field. Have you guys figured that out? Yeah. Well, yeah, he is going to be making the calls, and it's pretty easy to navigate through something like that. When you've worked eight years together, you know, and you started up to programs, and so I don't see that being a problem at all. You know, it's it's a spent a combined effort, and it's pretty neat because his background comes from linebackers in front seven and mine comes from more than back end. And and we kinda hit it off, and mashed and we've kind of evolved together. And so I'm just here to kind of serve him and he's in a new role as the head coach. And so we'll just do it together. But eight years, you you kind of know how each other works. No, absolutely. We're talking with the new defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos. Ed, Donna tell I'm gonna ask you a tough question. You think back to when you first jumped into the NFL in all the years at various. Spots holding various jobs coordinating more than just a couple of of programs. What are a couple of changes that you have seen that are most prevalent with today's players. How're players different today? If at all in your mind, then when you were let's say coach the Broncos secondary back in the mid to late seventies late nineties, excuse me. Yeah. You know, the way I've approached it, you know, my mindset, they really haven't changed much because you know, as a coach it's our job to learn our players and to study player. So I haven't seen much change. I'm sure they've changed. Some you know, some people looking at the outside. But you know, you, you know, you can't complain that millennials are are different. But it's our job to research instead of talking about, you know, how everything's changed and nothing's like the old days, you know, these are the new days, and we're part of them were current and we'll connect with these players and good things are ahead of us. And I just just thinking when you when you rattled off all the different places you've been just how supportive the family has to be of NFL football coach. And hopefully, you've got somebody that's willing to go along with that, otherwise, it'd be pretty tough ride. Yeah. It's been a fun ride. But my wife, Sherry, she's been outstanding. You can't have a better mother for these children in the way, they've turned out. And I can't thank you enough for that. And she'll be Ravin here soon. My boys have paid me one of the biggest compliments because they've been through everything to good the Super Bowl the bat, and and they've gone into coaching. So my one son is a assistant linebackers up at Seattle Seahawks. And then other son is a graduate assistant at Akron university in Ohio. So that's the biggest compliment to me and a lot of fun to talk football with them and share my wisdom with them 'cause I can help them a little bit and that's just been very enjoyable. That's awesome. That's awesome. Hey final question as you. Now. Get set for for the next the next challenge, which is here with with the Broncos in coordinating this defense. How much do you know about Denver? You spent the last few years in Chicago. And you mentioned a prior to that in San Francisco both NFC teams so out of the conference. What do you how do, you know about the personnel that the Broncos currently have? Well, you know, we practiced with you guys last year, you know, so it's got a good look at some of the guys on offense and things changed a little bit. But, but you always kinda know the league a little bit, and you know. There's there's a lot of good players here. And I'm excited to put our scheme, and and see what we can do. But I think there's a lot of good things in in a pick Fangio's defense. You look over the years all the way back to New Orleans. And then when I joined up with him San Francisco, you know, he wants to have players get it started. And we got a head start on that. And that's that's nice nice. And and then we start building from there and putting it together. So, you know, it's it's more about this. We know this is a great organization. We know they'll support us. You know? We know, you know, create fill any needs we need and work with us in John Elway in association with him. And you know, the roots threat at bowling. So we know the commitments there, so so you know, you can bring it back. Hey, coach, thanks for coming on the show. We look forward to get in the season started in talking to you again soon. Okay. Thanks a lot looking forward to seeing. Thanks. Thank you. That said Donald until he's I mean, you can sort of hear it this way. He's just a great dues. You can hear. It is really smart football coach, I like them. All right. We're going to meet our new offensive coordinator next for the Denver Broncos, rich, scannon Guerrero. He'll be coming up after we.

Our first guest is an Air Force One of the air force seniors on this year steam, he's played a lot of hockey for the falcons. One hundred and ten career career games from Saint Cloud. Minnesota is played defense. He's played the forward spot, and we're happy to have one of the senior assistant captains. Dan bailey. Bailey demand. Everybody calls bales? How you doing bales? That's about that's about twenty one games. This season a goal to assists and three points. One game winning goal for his career seven goals. Twenty two assists twenty nine points. One hundred ten games played and three game winning goals. You played some forward you played some defense being a defenseman that your natural spot. I think so it's it's a little different though, we always kind of joke in the locker, and what's what's harder to play for it or D. And I win that argument because I said I've played both. But you can speak to. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. I think as a way more way more responsibly. I think naturally, you know, playing defense it's mind spot, but plant center last year was an easy transition especially defensively because your responsibilities are pretty much the same. So. Ripping around upfront buddy of mine that was a play was a defenseman and played some forward. Any he tell the Ford you went back to me said he goes gone from defense to forwards easy. I I just turned half my brain off and I'm going forward. Is that is that how it works?.
