Yeah, We've got finally figured out this computer so We've got a message from Jason. When is there going to be investigation on who's actually controlling Biden? We sure we sure do know that he's not making all the decisions now. You don't know. Look, they got the band back together. It's It's the old Obama folks. They're the ones who are making all the decisions. And, uh, you know, they're making just as bad decisions now, as they did when Obama was president, no question about it. We've got another another listener, Senator Heritage Senator has Bill Congressman That's alright if at $3.5 trillion Bill is passed, But money is planned to be spent in the future. And it is the 3.5 Trillion over. You know, the 10 year budget window. Are there ways to pull the money back if we retake the house? Uh yeah, sure. They're theoretically is but the president would have to agree. And once this once President Biden, you know, gets this money. He is not going to allow us to pull it back until now, Once we elect a new president. We might be able to the messages. New President influence you need. You need a new president till 24. You just don't have hope. But the but theoretically yes, we have We, Of course, could we could we could change the change of the law. When another caller who you know says that you know, there are a lot of shortage of workers. And, uh perhaps what we should do is that supplemental security income from Social Security SSD something less security disability income. Which you have is you have a limit on how much you can earn outside and they ask, you know why don't we just remove those limits so these people can take the jobs, You know that. I'm just not sure it's a good idea because it's supposed to be supplemental income. It's supposed to be a safety net income. And I obviously you know the safety net. You have there been any changes to that amount, though in how many in here? I don't know. Maybe it could be bumped a little bit just for inflation. Yeah, I could go back and look at the That we have another message wired Republicans in Congress pushing back on the mandate for all civilians to come back that we are pushing back. We're going to file suit the Republicans in the house going to file lawsuit against the new mandates, and, Yeah, so yeah, we've got a lot of lot of people. Thanks for your texts. And your emails. Jim did send a great email. Okay. And it was a response to John. If you were called in the six o'clock hour, John was asking. You know why? Why you should vote? Why should vote. "Story. About the trump justice department's investigations into democratic representatives. Staffers already triggered blowback from both inside and outside the department less than twenty four hours after the story was first reported. The office of the inspector general announced it will review the matter while senate majority leader chuck schumer and judiciary committee chairman. Dick german retina subpoena former attorneys. General william bar. Jeff sessions to testify before congress about the investigations thing is according to your times at least four. Doj officials who were involved in briefings about the hunt for leakers. Still justice department. That is not lost on one of the targets of this. Whole thing. Congressman. adam schiff. I think that the the attorney general has not vacation to clean house to essentially understand. Exactly what the department was doing the last four years. Make sure that there's accountability for those. That were engaged in political and partisan investigations within the department an opinion piece for the washington post former federal prosecutor. Paul butler argues the best way for twenty general merrick. garland protect. Justice department is to stop defending his predecessor professor of law at georgetown university law center and he joins me now. Take three argument. Paul so chris here there two major issues. The first sessions in bar justice department when after trump's political enemies was there a legal predicate for them to seek this very personal data about congress. People their staff. There are families and enough famous exchange. When then senator harris asked attorney general bar. Trump had ever directed to investigate somebody forest. Answer the answer. Any prosecutor with integrity should have been hell. No because i would quit and stabbed bar held in hard all. What do you mean by this word. And and that were that was revealing. it raised the distinct possibility that bar was believed to weaponize the department of justice to go after trump's political enemies at. That's where we are now so chris. The other major issue is what the biden justice department is going to do about this. so far. we've seen this pattern of protecting the trump justice department. That's starting to look more and more of the same as protecting corruption. So that's a. This is the sort of 'institutionalised paradox. That i think garland finds himself in right which is the some of the norms are rotated department of justice. I think two of them were the independence department. Right of taking orders from the white house directly a and b you abandoning continuity and how the department did its business continuity the positions it took and the cases it took so you come and you think well we want to restore those norms. So we're going to be independent and not let the white house tell us what to do. And we're going to go back to more continuity so we're gonna take the same position to the trump justice department on the e jean carroll lawsuit etc but that is the problem it seems to me. That's exactly right chris. I'm a proud alumnus of the department of justice and i respect the journals institutional commitments. But when buying was running he said that the trump administration was deep. Most corrupt in modern history and biden's justice department has not responded by fighting for transparency and accountability. And i understand muir garland's with to look forward not backward now to substitute trump's lock corrup- with biden's lock him up but looking backwards looking backwards. That's a dangerous approach. People are allowed to subvert the constitution with no consequences. Yeah that's very well Well sat and this is going to think it's gonna come to a head. I mean there's going to be some choices that have to be made as we go forward here and there's gonna be a lot riding on those choices that are made by the attorney general paul butler as always great. Thank you you all right. There's still.

"Offer to buy or sell any security is only made by private placement memorandum. Read it first, Yes and Ri a dot net well, Jimmy Kimmel and obviously a supporter of conviction, impeachment and and using and loading trump onto a truck douche and launching him into space. Jimmy Kimmel. You are a great moral arbiter. Pope Pope Kimmel over here. He says that you know, when Trump was using the sort of language then he should have known that there were people who would've gone and done this because you can't expect people to understand hyperbole. Here is Jimmy Kimmel. His lawyers are saying he's not responsible because people should have known he was using hyperbole when he told them to fight like hell. And then they ran down the street to the yet like the guy in the Viking costume, and the Lady with the words camp Auschwitz, printed on her triple X L sweatshirt should know what hyperbole is. Give it. That's the entire point. Now you're making my point. So we're going to judge whether somebody was using hyperbole or not, by nutcases. That's how we're gonna judge this. So when Bernie Sanders I cite this case because this was a case where people were actually shot and somebody was nearly murdered is that's a case where actual violence ensued. If that shooter Was shouting. This is for health care right after Bernie Sanders had suggested repeatedly and openly the Republicans Healthcare plan was for you to die. What Jimmy Kimmel be said. And when I mean that is a hyperbolic statement, Is it not? The Republicans healthcare plan was for you to die. That was not. That was not a true statement of hyperbole. Vast majority of rational human beings understand that that is political hyperbole. According to Jimmy Kimmel's argument. We can now say that Bernie Sanders should have known that. Would it impact nutcases in such a way that they're probably going to have their fellow members of Congress? That's not the way any of this works. We don't judge whether rhetoric is responsible for activity by taking people who are the nuttiest among us and then saying what? We should have known that those nuts we're going to go do something terrible. If we use the nuttiest and their behavior As the standard for what we can and cannot say it could be very little we can and cannot say because it turns out that people who do evil crazy things Very often do not need an excuse to do evil or crazy things and or Misinterpret things on a regular basis because of their evil and crazy. Jimmy Kimmel knows this. You know who else knows this Michelsen door over a PBS So Michelsen door who is not a journalist, right? She's a pseudo journalist. She's an activist. She says. You know, when Republicans cite rhetoric from like Maxine Waters and Kamila Harris? Yeah, there wasn't the storming of the capital after Maxine Waters and Kamila Harris spoke here. She was making this case. The Trump team, as we, as you've reported, also is going to bring out this video trying to say here what Democrats said. Here's why they're just like President Trump. But I think the thing that's going to be so obvious. It's gonna be that there wasn't it storming of the capital after Maxine Waters or Senator Hairston center hairs had fiery speeches. Um, except that Senator Harris. Literally tweeted out support for writers in the middle of the riot, Senator Harris tweeted out a link to a bail fund for people who've been arresting for looting, looting and rioting in Minneapolis. So yeah, that that that does have something to do with the violence, in fact, has more directly to do with the violence and what Trump said on January 6th. So Democrats know that this argument is not a winning argument. They just understand that if they show the video of generous six over and over and over again that people are justifiably upset about January 6 and they hope to link all Republicans to it. That is the purpose of this entire exercise. That's the purpose of this entire exercise. They tried to do this yesterday. With a Mike Leigh and full disclosure, Senator Lee is is the front line. I think that he's maybe the most honest guy in Congress on Dhere was making the case that when it comes to Democrats that I'm talking about Trump here, he says. Democrats saying inflammatory stuff all the time, and we don't We don't pretend that the inflammatory rhetoric used by Democrats is responsible for incitement. Everybody gets Mulligan, right. That's what he was saying. Who's talking about Democrats. The media immediately took this and suggested that what he meant is that Trump should get a Mulligan for his rhetoric, which is not what we were saying in the first place. In any case, he was a Senator Lee These are outgrowths of the same natural impulse. The that exists from time to time among anyone in this business and in many other businesses. Look, everyone makes mistakes. Everyone's entitled to a Mulligan once in a while, and I would hope I would expect that each of those individuals would take a Mulligan on each of those statements because in each instance They're making it deeply personal. They're.

"When it comes to abortion, he was leading The charge among attorneys general from other states to get the Food and Drug Administration to change their rules during this covert pandemic so that women do not have to see a doctor before they are prescribed the chemical abortion pill. We know that he went after the Center for Medical Progress, and David Delight in and Senator Merit when they were doing there, Undercover work to expose Planned Parenthood. For some of the things they were doing in there. Abortion facilities, You know, I just having the Sarah at HHS would be Ah, huge disappointment and stumbling block for protecting a lot of babies. No, he was incredibly oppressive here in California, and basically he had picked up the mantle from Senator Harris before she was in the Senate. She had been attorney general. And she had led the charge on all of those, and it is. I wish it was funny. But when even President Biden refers to senator now vice President Harris as President Harris, he called, he called his administration, The Harris Biden administration. There's a little bit of reality and weaken a pine about how much President Biden really comprehends about the challenges he faces. It's very clear, though. The people around him have a very strong agenda. And no one is worse than Vice President Harris. And this is really, really Hamas situation. So you got to be ready. When action alerts come down. You have to be ready to act if we don't have congressional members who will speak up loudly. Then they're just going to sweep through. "John Catsimatidis, the host of Cats round table to comment on the state of the city. State in the union. We begin with the union because it is inauguration day hours into the Biden administration. The 46, president of the United States, the 49th, vice president of United States, former Senator Harris. John, we greet a new president. It's exciting. Every few years. We have this moment of honeymoon. However, I want to translate that honeymoon. What does it mean? That Mr Biden is the president that the Senate now passes nominally into the hands of the Democratic Party, and the house is in the hands of the very strong minded Nancy Pelosi. Is it a good thing for New York City? Given our needs? Is that a good thing for New York State? Good evening. Good evening. You know, John, we're both optimists. And I believe that the Senate is passing on to Senator Chuck Schumer. He's going to be the majority leader. He's in New York. Er, he loves New York on, I think he he's going to do what he has to do. Make sure New York That's the money to reopen. So talking from the optimistic point of view, New York is going to be helped. I sent it to Chuck Schumer. The tri state area is our economy, and I believe we're a big chunk. The GDP that is actually the number for New York alone is 9% of the whole country. So if we can get that 9% working Then the whole country or benefit for and you believe that Governor Murphy will cooperate and that he will also with Governor Cuomo make the right in treaties to Washington for a well I pray that Governor Murrayfield old Goldman Sachs guy, Smart guy. On da Verner Cuomo common sense and that object together. We gotta reopen up the city because there's not enough money in the world. So keep funding New York unless we open it up, Bring the tourists back. Bring the theaters back, Bring the hotel's back, open up the restaurants and make the city the greatest city in the world again. I look forward to President Biden visiting New York and walking the streets and seeing how bad it is here, John. I don't believe you can just read about in the newspaper and we know he's been busy campaigning. And also because of the virus. He hasn't traveled and walk the streets. But you need to see it to understand how bad it is. When I see New York and I see it early on. When I watch news channels on in the morning and say, 60 of you being empty, see third annual being empty being all the major thoroughfares being empty. It hurts me in the heart. The vaccine is here, but it's not here because I became curious about these reports of the New York State website being difficult to manage. I went on and to manage it from my eligible ability. And, you know, John, you and I both qualified because we're over 65 that is now the national director from the CDC and also here in New York state. What I learned is that first of all, the city says that it is running out of vaccine by the end of this week, the city New York City. Secondly, that there are vaccination spots across New York, Queens, Manhattan downtown across town all around You sign up, you go to them and sign up for an appointment. If you're eligible, you answer questionnaires. Not you do difficulty you have to answer honestly. But then you're told there will be no appointments until after April 16th. Three months from now. Well, you know, I think they're trying to make it look worse sometimes so that could create a situation so they could make it better. On guy noticed City is asked the visor to be able to order vaccines directly on and Fizer. You know your bureaucracy, Fizer says. No, The federal government has to tell us that it's okay to sell it to you. So now that you have a Democratic city, Democratic state Democratic federal government Maybe they can all talk to each other and get the vaccines delivered. Next week. Well, it's a frustration for I'm a healthy person. You were healthy person. We all have issues. However, there are people who are not healthy. Who need that vaccine and managing that website was a challenge. I'm not magic, but I managed it after a while. And to learn not until baseball season. All right with the vaccine is here. Is it here? Yes, However, there is the matter of paying for the the shutdown, so lockdowns in the pandemic, and now we come to a matter that is far more. I think far more serious than supply and demand and that is the governor of the state. Andrew Cuomo. The term that is used in this particular headline is threatened. I won't use it. The governor has said that if he does not get $15 billion in federal aid, he will raise taxes severely, especially on the well to do the Democratic prevented presented two vastly different budgets in areas one of Congress provides. One of Congress does not, and he's talking about raising rates. So that you know the word confiscatory applies to the I'm afraid of trying that he'll get the money and still raised the rates. John, you have spoken often sincerely of your friendship and your acquaintance with the Cuomos over the years in a particularly with Andrew Cuomo. I met him when I was a teenager and his father was running for God for Mayor of the city and the then became secretary of state. The Cuomos understand taxes, they understand the business of the state. Andrew Cuomo knows. Raising taxes in a recovery is the worst thing you could do. He knows this. So why is he's talking like this? I think he's trying to scare the federal government into giving him the money faster. It won't work, though the federal government is Chuck Schumer, she Pelosi. I don't think they're frightened of what happens to us in New York. It's a puzzle to me why you understand how even the suggestion of a tax hike inhibits people of for investing in New York? And make some businesses think they have to leave. There's a lot of businesses are concerned. A lot of citizens are concerned. A lot of people are leaving. But I have real both optimist. Run. I believe that next 60 90 days, things will turn around and they'll be money coming into New York and the covert vaccine will be fully available, All right. I'm not going to disagree with that because I can see the path. I just puzzled about the governor's rhetoric. There. One other concern I have right now is that New York is in winter time. It's a mild winter so far, and it's not been severe, honest. But the schools are closed. John the schools, the school Children rode home in kids or suffered. They can't go outside. There's no place for them to Rome there. Their home with their moms and their moms. You know, in England, they're running stories about mental health of young mothers because they're locked into a house all day with three small Children and their husband working in the other room as best you can. I'm sure that's happening on the kid's suffering. He the kids, and it's gonna question a year of their lives just to catch up. So every kid every child is suffering a year of their life, and that The hope here is that the schools can reopen sooner than next year. Do you have expectation for that job? Well, you know, it's I wish I had better expectations, but I believe that the teachers union has a lot to say about it. And if we could vaccinate every teacher If we could vaccinate every.

I was a high school dropout. The judge would shine their boots on my backside and Brooklyn prep now close and kicked me to the curb, and I never looked back. But if there was one subject that was my best subject, it was history. I couldn't get enough of it. And that's why these little vignettes your important because we're talking about now impeachment of outgoing President Donald Trump. By a Senate trial the day after or the day of Joe Biden and Senator Harris is being sworn in as the next president and vice president of the United States. Mitch McConnell is hinted at that. Members of the House Democrats have so maybe we'll do it 100 days later, since they've already impeached him in the house for a second time. And they're all grasping because not only do they want to put him on trial before the U. S Senate either a day after or 100 days after, but they also want to go. Pass a second provision as part of that impeachment trial that would strip President Trump Of his ability to run in the future for any federal officers. Well, let's just talk about impeaching someone when they're out of office. Now, who do we look to Two time President Ulysses S. Grant. Right now you go up there. What? 9 96 3 west side near the riverside Drive you see is Muslim. And now you know what he knows that that Z president granted. Hero of the Civil War, right, Great General. But Abou sound a lush and then he became president, and he is a booze hound and a lush, as were most members of his cabinet. Including the hopelessly corrupt secretary of war. William Belknap, who was from of course, New York a very corrupt state even then, but they were all corrupt in the Cabinet. They were being wined, dined and park it line but especially the secretary of war who removed all the union troops from the Black Hills. After gold was discovered there and scared and said his troops screw the Lakota Indians just give them smallpox laced blankets. Because that gold in them hills and weaken, take weaken. Take shorter alone little What do we say Plot Become zillionaires, so he got caught with his hands in the till And, ah, the House of Representatives wanted to take a vote to impeach him. Just like we saw with President Trump yesterday. So what did he do? He beat them to the punch. He submitted his resignation to President Ulysses S Grant minutes before the vote was said to take place, But you know what the House of representatives did, they said Psych. They ended up voting to impeach Belknap Anyway, later in the same day, So then it went right to the full Senate for a trial. He had his defenders. Belknap have to determining that well, Yeah, Okay. I guess you can do this. So, Yeah, I'm gonna fight it the whole way. But, you know, I wonder how the hell can you impeach me in a Senate trial when I'm already out of office, But they said we can't They had 40 witnesses and it took a month of Sundays and they needed 40 votes for conviction, and it was 35 to 25 to acquit him. Even though everybody agreed he was a crook. He stole from the Indians. He gave them smallpox laced blankets. The Lakota is, but he wasn't the worst of the many Cabinet members of the most corrupt administration, maybe in the history of America, and that's saying a lot. President Ulysses S. Grant. So, yes, if you want to use this case in history President Trump even at the point when he becomes citizen Trump Can be charged by the U. S. Senate following on the orders of the House of Representatives to impeach Trump, and they can be a full blown Senate trial. But as to whether they can then pass a caveat to forbid him from running for federal office ever again. That's never been done. And, quite frankly. Yes, and then also in the mix our colleague, mayor of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has been criticized for being on the stage at the rally prior to the president, speaking to the crowd. Talking about trial by combat? Yes. What was your perception of those remarks? I mean, I think you know what my perception was Curtis. I think I really knows what my perception was. I mean, look. On parlor, which is sort of the right wing antidote. I guess you could say to Twitter on social media. Leading up to this yesterday's event there were it was so clear that the people that were showing up at that event many of these people were there to fight. They were there to start trouble. They were there, too. It was one last stand in their mind. You can see the things that were written. They were showing. They were talking about hanging members of Congress they were talking about it was, it was clear. So There's no way that Rudy and the president are not made aware of this. There's no way that they are not told of the temperature of these people that are showing up at this event. There's no way so to sit there and throw not just a match into the tinder box. But like a flamethrower into the tinderbox is incredibly responsible. And I can't I cannot say that I don't think That they had any idea that it was going to turn out the way it did later on. We'll discuss what security didn't do, but they should have been monitoring all of this. Also to be prepared for. That's what you do. That's part of what you do, especially when you know so far in advance. In this case is gonna be a huge demonstration, which is gonna take place on the very day that the debate in the vote on the electors finally sealing the presidency for Joe Biden and the vice presidency for Senator Harris was taking place You saw what I mean. There's always been anger and antipathy and frustration and bad words being thrown about. But I don't think that you could say that we've ever seen a president who has been so vocal about using Thies Lightning rod terms using these very scary, very insightful terms. Because Pence is rhetorically much better than trump, especially this kind of stuff. He made the record look as good as you could make it when you have a president who is doing all the things that that President Trump is doing, then they got to the economy and this is where it all starts to fall apart for Kamila Harris So she starts talking about she starts talking. About the issue of the economy's clip. Eight. She says that there could not be a more fundamental difference on the issue of the economy and in this particular segment of debate. I mean, this was a car crash. This was an absolute car crash. This was a smart car against a big rig. It just did not go well for Kamila Harris here here was here is trying to go off on Pence's economy. That depends. Trump economy, The trumpets economy, and as you will see, Pence just was not having it. On the issue of the economy think there couldn't be a more fundamental difference between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Joe Biden believes you measure the health and the strength of America's economy based on the health and the strength of the American worker. The American family. On the other hand, you have Donald Trump, who measures the strength of the economy based on how rich people are doing. On day one. Joe Biden will repeal that tax bill. He'll get rid of it. Okay And then And then, as you will see, as you'll see Mike Pence. Just hander had tore it into its really bad. So, she says again again for the 90th time that the first day Biden is going to repeal Trump's tax cuts. There's only one problem with that. When you say is gonna repeal the tax cuts. As it turns out, you're raising everybody's taxes. Okay, So Kamila Harris suggest that the Trump economy is bad and that Trump only cares about the wealthy and pence just Just destroys her on it. Despite would Senator Harris says the average American family of four had $2000 in savings in taxes. The average household income for a family of four increased by $4000 following President Trump's tax cuts. What America? You just heard. Senator Harris tell you on day one. Which means that I suppose that Kamila Harris Good man Splain to Mike Pence anytime she pleases simply by identifying as a man, but in any case It was common, Harris. Trying to walk back. The simple fact which is if you repeal Trump's tax cuts, then you end up repealing tax cuts for 82% of Americans who received a tax cut here was here is Kamila Harris trying to walk it back? And then Pence tries to interject. And once again she doesn't you're interrupting me. It's tough. It's ripped. She was Joe Biden has been very clear. He will not raise taxes on anybody who makes less than 400,060 year. Peel the Trump tax cut. Mr Vice President, speaking When I'm speaking, the important has just said the truth. Joe Biden has failed twice in the debate last week that he's going to repeal the trump tax cuts that was tax cuts that gave the average working family $2000 in a tax break every single yet Senator that is asked O'Malley. Not true that the only cutting is the only going to repeal part of the trump tax cuts If you don't mind letting me finish We couldn't have a conversation. Okay, Please. Okay again, she she gets caught out, and she's nowhere to go. This is another aspect of her performance. She kept basically saying, I want my time back. I want my time. Let me answer. And then she'd get Joe Biden did this in debate too early on, he would do this routine raise like I'm not finished yet. I want to say my piece and then everybody would stop. I'll be like E got to say, I'm not sure which was more stunning. How well Pence performer how badly Harris performed. I think probably the latter because expectations for Harris were much higher than expectations for pence, But she it was a mismatch. It was this was this was a heavyweight with a lightweight. Is that simple. She has knowledge of issues that goes about half an inch.

"So recognize the first like a third of the day. It was all about covert and Harris. Basically her line was that Trump knew in late January early February, this thing was airborne. It was dangerous. Even Bob Woodward, who revealed that in his book right that Trumpet said that sort of stuff, even Bob Woodward said publicly interviews. We talked about it at the time. He said. I didn't believe that from knew all that I thought Trump is just bloviating because again, nobody knew that there was not a single doctor, including Fauci, who was saying in early February. The thing was airborne, and that was really dangerous for young people. As it turns out, it's not particularly dangerous young people. And even now there is controversy about just how airborne the virus is right. The CDC came out with information suggesting there might be an airborne component to this. The CDC said this, okay, so she relied a lot. I'm Bob Woodward's book for various items of information. But then they moved beyond common. They got into taxes, and here here is where they really started to go sideways. For Harris. To this point, you could say that Harris sort of held her own because uncovered. "Thank you very much. I wanted to talk about the recent court cases and especially the Supreme Court case with Texas and the kinds of precedent setting for election lawsuits. Basically, I'm of the opinion. I've been following these things a lot, and it seems that no one's really willing to hear the case on the merits. They basically kind of suggest that while we don't have jurisdiction, or we don't have a acceptable remedy, or the case is moved, or the person doesn't have standing. I'm kind of wondering Are they basically all saying that it's impossible full to bring an election lawsuit because it's just impossible to bring an election lawsuit on the barracks? Um, no, I don't think that's what they're saying, because if it's a case they wanted to take they would take it. I think Uh, you know, a friend of mine sent me a note after the Texas After the Supreme Court refused to hear the Texas case, and the note is Supreme Court just said that a state that cheats in a national election which screws everybody in the nation Is the only enemy that's allowed to do anything of mounted. What's acid nine? It's like saying the only person who can prosecute a murder is the murderer. His point is, the Supreme Court said. We cannot allow one state to start suing other states. Uh, because it would soon be out of control and so forth. I think there's a common denominator in all this. That people um e. I mean, you know this, but you may not have put it in your Equation. This is strictly about getting rid of Donald Trump. There isn't an entity in the in the in the American Deep State Washington establishment, Whatever. That doesn't want to get rid of Donald Trump, including enough justices on the Supreme Court. And I think it's it's. There's some additional reasons why, and the court gave it its its reasons. But the bottom line is that this is the best chance they've ever had to get rid of Trump. They're not gonna hear these cases. They want him gone. It's no more. In my humble estimation of more complicated men. The president's they're being set. Residents are made to be broken. Supreme Court can break One of the president wants any time it wants down the line, depending on if they get a case that they they want to hear if they get a case that they wanted to sign. Okay? Thank you, sir. You bet. I'm glad you called out there. Carol. Here's uh I guess, uh, that what which one? And in Pittsburgh, you're next. Welcome to the E I V Network alone. As they accumulate and you know millions and millions of dollars before they leave, and that's called public service. I'm just It just doesn't make any sense to me at all. And it's just kind of enrages me that they keep doing that they call each other public servants wait a minute, even when they're making millions and millions of dollars. Wait, What? McConnell has sewn it up. McConnell has finally acknowledged that Trump lost even if Trump won't. That's how this is being portrayed. This is what McConnell said. The Electoral College has spoken. I also want to congratulate the vice president elect are calling from California, Senator Harris Beyond our differences, all Americans can take pride that our nation has a female vice president elect. For the very first time, and so there you have it, then that suffices for a trump as a trump concession in terms of the way it's being reported by The media, even though Trump hasn't conceded anything. They are reporting that McConnell effectively did it for him. Now, your comment about public service and the fact that these people, you're Biden and And in the hunter. I gotta tell you, you know it's it's It's amazing. They're there at least four separate federal criminal investigations of the Biden family going on right now. You know people about to move into the White House. There are four separate federal criminal investigations. That resulted from Joe Biden's years and years and years of quote unquote public service. And here's Mitch McConnell, congratulating him on all those years of public service. Here's some headlines. And if and when you get a meeting with the President elect, what will you tell him? So importantly way look forward to a direct communication with the president elect, and we're gonna reaffirm our interest on behalf of the community that the number of Diverse cabinet members, particularly African Americans. Prominent and every level of the body Administration Cabinet sub cabinet. As well as at the White House. You know, we want to give the president elect due credit. He chose an excellent running mate, Senator Harris. He's made an important appointment of Cecilia Rouse, his chair of the president's Council of Economic Advisors, and Linda Thomas Greenfield as U. N ambassador. But we're heavily focused. What's known as a statutory Cabinet, defense and justice and transportation and commerce and labor and hot and education and HHS, For example, that is where The important levers of power are We're going to communicate that to him, and the second thing will be communicating. Eyes our interest in the public policy arena. We need aggressive enforcement of civil rights laws. We need strong investments through both stimulus. And infrastructure plans, and we need Focus on long term issues of racial justice, criminal justice reform, police justice reform just to name a few high priorities and finally With respect to cove it we need to ensure That the vaccine is safe and effective for all people and that there is a community based distribution system. To ensure that people in our community have access to the vaccine. I guess What I'm trying to understand is if you are actually concerned with what you've seen so far, or if you're just trying to get ahead of the process, As you point out, there have been many black officials appointed to keep jobs in the Biden administration says they're not done yet. Yeah, I think it's both. And I think it's uh they've been to statutory Cabinet nominees thus far. Treasury Three rather Treasury homeland security as well as the State Department, and that's important and we do have a concern and we do want to get ahead of the process and We want to be clear that we're looking for a cabinet. When it comes to African Americans and meets but really exceeds the high water marks of the Clinton and Obama cabinets. This is a different time. And the president elect is made of important public commitment to racial justice, and I believe he's serious about that, but toe execute that He's got to have people who have lived experiences. So let me say this. Van Carson is a great doctor. I never thought Ben Carson was qualified. To be secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. I thought he would have made made a great surgeon general. You made a great secretary of health. Human services. I think it was an example of picking a quote unquote black person and putting him in what some perceive to be a black position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. And I think it was It was a mistake, and I think it was a disservice to Ben Carson. So I mean, it's important. Understand this is not just about a black face in a certain place.

2020 Election Updates: Biden projected to win Wisconsin and Michigan

Unlike in previous years, states are contending with an avalanche of mail in ballots driven by the global pandemic every election What's reported on election night Unofficial results. The counting of votes extends past Election Day this year. With so many ballots in close races in key states, it's expected to take more time to count every vote. And with Joe Biden close to victory, but still in a tight race. All eyes are on Nevada and Pennsylvania and Nevada officials will provide an update this morning as Biden leads there by less than 1000 votes. This morning's results will include mail in ballots received late last week. Meanwhile, President Trump leads by a slim margin in key Pennsylvania, and that's where he filed a lawsuit. Laying the groundwork to contest the election. It's It's a cascade. Right? So it's a what's going on is like an assembly line. So first you have ballots that are just came in. They're sealed. They did they get sorted. And prepared to move from this ordering. After they're sorted, they move Teo. They moved to the extraction table where they get run through. And slice and a secrecy envelope is extracted. And then they have to be extracted again for to take the ballot contents of secrecy envelope and then they have to be. Unfolded and back, bended and prepared for scanning. That takes it takes time. It takes time to open that there's money belts as everybody else. That's why we knew that it was going to take longer President Trump State largely out of public view Wednesday, issuing no public statements after wrongly declaring victory in several battleground states. Biden ended up picking up Michigan and Wisconsin, reclaiming a key part of that blue wall that slipped away from Democrats four years ago. Michigan We'll complete his vote soon. Maybe as early as today. I feel very good about Pennsylvania. Virtually all the remaining balance to be counted were cast by mail. A way been winning. 78% of the votes. By mail, inoffensive age. We flipped Arizona. The second District of Nebraska. Of special significance to me. Is that we won with the majority of the American people. And every indication is that the majority will grow. Of a popular vote lead of nearly three million votes. And every indication is that will grow as well. Indeed, Senator Harris and I are on track. You win more votes than any ticket in the history of this country than the president's campaign, meanwhile, says it will ask for a legal recount in Wisconsin. Of the
Election live blog: Joe Biden
"As yet undecided presidential election, millions of outstanding ballots and a half dozen battleground states still being counted. Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee. He has small leads in Michigan and Nevada, while Republican President Donald Trump has an edge in North Carolina and Georgia. Little bit of a larger lead in Pennsylvania. Joe Biden gave a statement today in his hometown. Wilmington, Delaware. I'm not here to declare that we have one. But I am here to report the Countess finished. We believe we will be the winners. All those counted. We have won Wisconsin by 20,000 Vert votes virtually the same margin of President Trump won at state four years ago in Michigan. We lead by over 35,000 votes. And is growing a substantially bigger margin on President Trump won Michigan in 2016. Michigan, will complete his vote soon, maybe as early as today, and I feel very good about Pennsylvania, virtually all the remaining balance to be counted. Cast by mail, and we've been winning 78% of the votes by mail in Pennsylvania. We flipped Arizona and the second District of Nebraska off special significance to me is that we won with the majority of the American people, and every indication is that the majority will grow. Of a popular vote lead of nearly three million votes, and every indication is that will grow as well. Indeed, Senator Harris and I are on track to win more votes than any ticket in the history of this country ever won the presidency and vice president over 70 million votes. I'm very proud of our campaign. Only three presidential campaigns in the past have defeated an incumbent president. When it's finished, God willing, will be the fourth. This is a major achievement. This is a major achievement has been a long and difficult campaign. It has been a more difficult time for our country. Hard time. We had a hard campaigns before we faced hard times before, so once this election is finalized and behind us, it will be time for us to do what we've always done as Americans. With the harsh rhetoric of the campaign behind us to lower the temperature to see each other again to listen to one another tweet to hear each other again, respecting care for one another to unite to heal to come together as a nation. I know this won't be easy. I'm not naive. Neither of us are I know how deep and hard the opposing views are in our country on so many things, But I also know this is well to make progress. We have to stop treating our opponents as enemies. We are not enemies. What brings us together as Americans is so much stronger than anything that can care us apart. So let me be clear. I we're campaigning as the Democrats, but I will govern as an American President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware today. With

Harris on taking a COVID-19 vaccine: 'If Trump tells us to take it, I won't'
"If the doctors tell us that we should take it, I'll be the first in line to take it absolutely. But if Donald Trump tells us I should take that we should take it. I'm not taking it. WanNa. Talk about that exact moment in tonight's debate with one of the experts we turn to often doctor Irwin redlener is with US tonight pediatrics physician senior research scholar at Columbia. University's Earth Institute also happens to be the founding director of Colombia's National Center for Disaster Preparedness and Doc. It's just anecdotal but I swear she spoke for a lot of Americans tonight who don't WanNa see vaccine rushed to market for political reasons to match a date on the calendar twenty six days from now. We're fighting a growing anti vaccine movement in this country aided and abetted by the Russians on social media. It's a dicey time to get the public behind anything in a politicized pandemic. Is there reason to what she said tonight that people should doubt something pushed by the President and wait for something? That's maybe Endorsed by Dr, Fauci. Well Bryan that you're. You're absolutely right and I think the absolutely and the words that were spoken by Senator Harris were absolutely shared by undoubtedly many many Americans you know. Be. Committing twenty thousand public lies or allies over the last few years and expect people to believe you. This is a classic. You know the boy who cried wolf situation and I don't remember any time at least in my life where a President United States of either party was so dishonest and so disbelieved that somebody a US senator say. I'm not going to even begin to believe the President United States I'm going to wait for the scientists to tell me what I should be doing. So this is this is a particularly poignant moment in presidential messaging and how much it's going to matter who is giving the message Brian. Let's talk about the president of the United States and to keep you from having to say it I, know he is not your patient nor have you examined him but we know something about the meds. He is on he said tonight that he chose the medical discipline that was his own treatment. He said tonight's he's going to find a way to get his treatment for free to those who need it probably physically implausible Do you believe that the meds he's on have a way of suppressing actual illness things like temperature and changing behavior Yes Brandon. These are experimental meds and an experimental regiment that he's on. It's preposterous to think thin. The general public are a few people in the general public would be able to get the kind of care and demand the kind of care that the president did. So that's completely out of the question why he felt it necessary to say that I don't know but it's it's absolutely out of the question Brian it the other things so much about this whole story over the last week or so. That's that's really shaking has I had I can't tell you how many phone calls after many doctors without examining the president watched him climb up the stairs after getting out of the helicopter and going up to the balcony of the white. House and he got to the top of the SEPTA? He was gasping for breath he looked terrible I was inundated with calls and we all were sort of talking about this. So we don't know we don't understand and we don't believe that it's actually head-spinning here but. To say that anybody is going to be able to get what he got is out of the question nor should people nor should people get exactly what he? We don't know these are experimental drugs Brian.
Trump's Campaign Strategic Communications Director On Vice Presidential Debate
"Debate now concluded the one and only matchup between Vice President Mike Pence. California Senator Kamala Harris. Welcome back. Good evening from Washington. Jared Howe friend joined by Josh Cross ours well, Want to finish a thought on the conversation we were having before that break on the conversation we had with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti about the notion of adding seats that the Supreme Court and play a little bit more. For you of that exchange between Pence and Harris When you speak about the Supreme Court, though, I think the American people really deserve an answer. Senator Harris. Are you and Joe Biden gonna pack the court if Jamie Cockney Barrett is confirmed? They've been 29 vacancies on the Supreme Court during presidential election years from George Washington to Barack Obama. Presidents have nominated in all 29 cases, but your party is actually openly advocating adding seats to the Supreme Court. Which has had nine seats for 150 years. If you don't get your way, this is a classic case of if you can't win by the rules, you're going to change the rules. Now you refuse to answer the question. Joe Biden has refused to answer the question. So I think the American people would really like to know if Judge Amy Cockney Barrett is confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States, are you and Joe Biden? If somehow you win this election going toe Pack the Supreme Court to get your way. That was a question posed by the vice president. The Senator Harris, We've heard that back and forth, discussed it with a Biden campaign supporter in Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. Let's hear from the Trump campaign, bringing Mark Slaughter, the director of strategic communications for the Trump campaign marked good to talk to you again. That's right. So one of the questions that has gone unanswered Not just in this debate Mark, but throughout this campaign is Tthe e idea. Tied to the Supreme Court is if the court were to strike down the affordable care act and arguments that will be held one week to the day after Election Day. What would happen to preexisting conditions? Thieve Ice president tonight again? Talked about a plan that is going to come out but details, timing none of that has come out. What is the health care proposal for voters that here before November 3rd. The president's been made very clear, and he has already taken executive action to make sure that people with preexisting conditions are protected. Should the court strike down the the Obama care law, and so they're going to continue to honor that pledge? The president's been absolutely clear about it, and it's something he plans to move it to to fulfill on. But he also doesn't think that Government. Health care is the answer and more broadly what they're talking about what they have been doing and taking action on is expanding People's access to private sector health care Whether it's through association plan, lowering the cost of prescription medicine. Those are the things that they're focused on doing. They know the government's not the answer. But we can take steps to make sure that people with preexisting conditions remain protected. Just to be clear. Pre existing conditions were enshrined in law right now, so any proposal that the president would would come out to replace the affordable care act would include a preexisting condition coverage and beyond that way, would there be? Is there a plan to sort of have a backstop a bridge between legislation should the court overturn The affordable Care act. Well, the president has already said, you know that his executive action is going to protect people with preexisting conditions. Should the court strike the law down, so they will be protected in any kind of transition. And and the president has made that absolutely clear from day one, and he'll deliver on that promise. Hey, mark. It's that Josh crests are here. The first part of the debate focused on the pandemic, The back and forth between Vice President Pence and and Kamala Harris in the campaign's mind is the pandemic the most important issue of the campaign. And how do you think the debate affected the deficit that the president and the vice president currently face in terms of handling the pandemic, according to public polling and perception. Well, I mean, I think the vice president was very well prepared because he's been there from day one, and he's led the Corona virus passport. He's been in the meetings. As he reiterated tonight. The president has followed every recommendation that has made made by Dr Fauci. And even and even Dr Fauci has confirmed that the that the actions that the president has taken saved lives. And when you look at the Biden plan, it's basically just a rehash. And, as the vice president said tonight, another case of Joe Biden plagiarism of just taking what President Trump is already doing and calling it his own plan, And so I think it was very strong on that. He he obviously mourned the loss of the folks who have already perished because of this virus. He's with. We're with the people who are recovering from this virus. But we also know that once again this is not an either or choice. You No, you listen to Democrats. And they basically say, if you don't hide in the basement, you're going to die.
2020 Vice Presidential Debate: Post Debate Analysis
"First, as always, when we have a debate, presidential, vice presidential or otherwise we bring in my friend Kpk political analyst Gary Dietrich, who joins us right now, Gary, Welcome to the show. They had good to be with you. And I look forward to a sharing with our callers. And perhaps even hear from them stopped on this. No doubt an important night, my friend. I think it probably is going to go down as one of the most. Important and watch Vice presidential debates. As you know, pad most people steer clear and find out which Channel V p debate it now. Not for me, not tonight. Well, you know for me, Gerry. Because we all know what happened in the presidential debate. Okay? But in the vice presidential debate, couple of things first thing I want to say is, I think we, um maybe learned a little bit more about about The candidates, and certainly one of the things I learned is it was a little different in the first one. It wasn't so testy, and that's college other names to do that, But But when, course, the moderator time, Susan Page us said to the University of Utah, where they held it, But she would say Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, And they would just keep talking as if she was not even ending it in. Both of them were guilty of that tonight. They just don't seem to follow the protocol. Anyone? Yeah, They certainly do a lot better tonight than last week. I mean, but that debt debt to me got annoying as well. But at least and then cure Point Palace is very well taken. It was a far far more substantive debate. Because again last Tuesday, a good third of it. You couldn't even make out what people were saying, because they were talking over each other so much. And then when that wasn't happening. I know the third of it was nothing more than name calling and accusing each other of stuff, right, right. I thought substance substantively. Far better. I know we want to dive into that. But I just think you know a farm or just say, I think helpfully conducted debate that we saw last week. Why a very extensive notes that I took care of it. Let's go to your notebook first. Gerry, what did you take away from this other than the things you've mentioned? Where there's wasn't much name calling, and it was a bit more substantive and it was in certain areas. But I tell you one observation I haven't we continue to have When it comes to politicians. They have an absolute art of avoiding questions, Gerry. It's amazing. It is an amazing talent. You know, sometimes it's so funny because it gets so extreme that they literally launch up on something completely unrelated. To what the question everyone's right. Never even come back, even attempt to do it right. You know, there's the art of bridging, which is you start with an answer that's related question, and you'll really get it. Bridge to something that you'd rather talk about. But somebody has just said I was just like, okay. Thanks for Thanks for speaking. I'd like to say this. All right, let me let me tell you one impression, and I came away from more generally. That and part of this is the nature of being an incumbent III, The vice president, who is currently in office, and part of it is and I have to say this, I felt like in this moderators case. Not a fair and thorough job of taking to cast. Some of Harris is history in elected office, which is extensive and buy even more, so I felt like the vice president Was on the defensive for most of the debate, particularly early on And and I felt like there could have been far more balance in saying, Hey, Well, you know the questions that's been raised about, you Know, X Y Z. When Joe Biden was in the Senate, we didn't hear anything about his voting. Many, many years of voting record Senate nor, frankly, honestly, really any kind of a hardball question about the years service vice president nor really questions that even within our own party have been raised about Senator Harris to me. I had a sense in which the questions themselves. What? Adequately reflective off some of the challenges that have been raised about those who currently or seeking the office. Not holding. I'm glad to hear you say that, Gary because I'm sitting there and I'm listening, and I'm listening very carefully in the moderator moderator plays a big part in this and you're absolutely right. From my perspective. I felt the same thing. I thought the questions were slanted. Um, the through the entire time all the way up until the end when we and I remember the presidential debate, Gary, I remember how the ending they manufacture this question about if you were to lose the election, Mr President, and would there be there smooth transition of power, and then we hear this. We hear this Susan page tonight at the end, and she asked both of them, and it's a slight on the president. He never said he was not going to leave the office piece. We never said anything like that. And there she is pressing this. What I consider to be a manufactured question about what's gonna happen. How would you handle that? Mike Panzer. How would you take? What would your response be? Comma Harris, you and Joe Biden. I am in total agreement. I thought that the questions were slanted, Gary. Well, and you know me, Pat and our listeners have known me for 20. Plus years on the station. You know, I I call them like I see him. I don't care what it was all going on, or Jerry about who was it doesn't matter in the national level, the exact game way, But I really came away feeling that And then there was and I do agree with you about that last question. Frankly, it's the only one she was able to oppose the moderate, she said. She had time for related to election integrity, and I really expected her to go to the integrity of the mail in ballots and these other questions. You know, our How long is the process could be could be drawn out. Could there be expensive court challenges. So take the time to go about whether the president's going to leave or not just seemed odd to me, particularly when everybody from Mitch McConnell on down it made utterly clear. That the president will be leaving if he gets voted out. Anyone if he isn't saying another thing about a question that I really found and I don't know how to use a word except disingenuous. It was the question about When Amy Cola coming back, so just highlighted? Yes, taking up picking up next week and it was about it was about what would you do? And it was a long and convoluted way to get to the Abortion question. What would you do that Mr Vice President in your home state of Indiana, if you'd get if you get approved, and if they throw out will be weighed. And if it goes back to the states, then what would you say Indiana should do what I said. He's not the governor of Indiana anymore. He's going to have absolutely no say in that policy making decision. It was so convoluted odd to me. I felt why don't you just ask you a few pro life or pro choice? Because that's really what the heart of your question is? Absolutely it is. And I believe the American people can see through that, Gary. I really do. Even if your vote he made up your mind. I mean, it's pretty obvious that you can see what's happening, and there was another point there. Where they were talking about late term abortions up until the last day and and pants and asked, you know about that. And there was no answer from Kamala Harris. There was no it was a redirection. It was abridging as you say, Hey, also asked if Judge Amy Kona bear it was going to be appointed. Would you be filling the Supreme Court room? She never answered it. He says to her. I want to make it very clear to the American people. I want them to note that she never answered the question that she says. Well, I'm gonna answer the question right now. Now I'm going to answer. The question can never answer the question. Never, and I listened. I was waiting for that. You know, I was waiting for the answer. It never happened. Yeah, that that and that is a very important issue. I mean, if there's three issues that people are very concerned about it last night, I happened to moderate a debate on I was in debate was a candidate forum of a number of different off was honored of moderate and you know, Congressman Tom McClintock. Well, Yeah, he he was headlining that candidate for him and added, he laid out very eloquently is senator as Congress. McClintock often does what he perceived to be the three major issues going report and it wasn't anything about specific foreign policy or even economic policy was packing the Supreme Court. It was about whether the filibuster is going to be thrown out in the Senate so that whoever has the majority will have complete and utter control. And and thirdly, whether state who is going to be granted to particular selected entities like Puerto Rico like Washington, D. C. That would then begin to quote unquote packed the Congress. And these are very, very significant issues for the future of the United States and our governmental process. None of that was raised tonight and to your point pat, which I think is well taken. Senator Harris refused, and there's no way to get around that refused to answer that question. And I thought that was very telling that you know that issue, which is a very central one right now and could have ramifications for many, many decades become was not answered.

Sen. Harris chief of staff reacts to Breonna Taylor case
"Is Jon Pierre Chief of staff to vice presidential candidate, Senator Kamala Harris and Korean, I just want to clarify your campaign chief of staff not these Senate chief of staff keep those clear. I want to get your reaction to what? Senator Harris is thinking tonight about the. Case for prosecutor herself she has by now I assume gathered the grasp some of the evidence of it. Yeah I I let me say Lawrence that we have to continue to support Brianna Taylor's mom. We have to certainly continue to say Brianna Taylor's name and here's the thing. Yes we have to ask for justice but we also need change. We lead to change the system a system that continually kills black boys, black girls, black men, black women who you know who are. Being murdered and not, and no accountability for for their murders is is is happening at all. So that's something that we have to continue to do is ask for change and you saw that in in Joe Biden's statement saying what what is it? What does police perform look like what his RIA manage reimagining police perform, and that is banning Chuck Coles really addressing Excessive Force and and talking about no knock warrants in a way that we can change that. So that is we have to meet the moment that were in and what Comal Harris was laying out is the contrast the contrast between Joe Biden Comma Hairs Donald Trump look look lawrence. But also as we were just starting as as you started your show, the civil rights movement really in. This moment the largest civil rights movement in generations and you see a president that just continues to divide us and also justified us with hate and so that is what is at stake. Everything is at stake on this election. So yes, we have to continue to ask for justice but we also have to have change and that is something Joe Biden talking. About, from the beginning of this of this uprising that we are seeing the street that has been put mostly peaceful because we need to hear that message, which is we have to uproot systemic racism that is incredibly key in trying to change what is happening, and so you have to start doing that. That's that's what Joe Biden and Comma Harris's is putting
