"Just let them know that, hey, this should not be a part of the prescription drug user fee authorizations. It has no business on there. We're happy to talk about if there are real changes to the law they're needed, happy to talk about those. But this is just so misleading the way it's read. Well, one thing that I would bring to this discussion is that if people don't make their opinion and voices heard, they have no one to blame when other voices prevail. And that's what we learn through to Shay. People who use supplements are very passionate, but they have to let their legislators know that these issues are important to them. Failure to do that is to let others decide the outcome. Amen to that. Doctor Faber can't we're very near the end of our time. I always like to give my guests the last word. Is there anything we didn't cover today that you want to make sure our listeners here? Steve, as always, you're a true pro really appreciate it. I really appreciate the opportunity. I just, again, want to urge folks. It takes that just please, please, please. It's really important now to tell your congressman tell your senators that this doesn't belong in the prescription drug user fee authorizations and the proposals that they are here will severely limit you people's choices to stay healthy. We'll drive up costs at a time when inflation is real right now. Costs of everything you're going up and we really want to make it tougher for people to stay healthy. Doesn't it seem kind of the exact opposite of what we elected members of Congress to do? Let them know and Steve, as always, I really appreciate it. Doctor fabricant, it's been so interesting. I want to thank you for the work that you do and for taking the time to be my guest today. Thank you so much. I will send you the link to this. If you find it useful, you can spread it to your downstream as well. The purpose is to provide content that explains the issue and is shareable to everybody who will listen. So I'm happy to provide at least a little bit of effort towards that and as things change, hopefully for the better, either way, we're going to hear about it and we will put all of the links that you have on our web page as well. So anybody who is interested can go there and get to you as well. But in PA national dot org is the site easy to get to. Doctor fabrikant, once again, thank you so much. Thank you,.

"And they're misinformed, threats, they're horrible, but the problem is this is to the Victor go the spoils are worse yet. The victors would write the history books. They're the ones who are going to say, oh yeah, you know, that industry didn't fight back, so we were able to clobber and limit the sales of natural products, limit the sales of dietary supplements. I hope people recognize and I'm not a sky is falling kind of guy. But these are some severe threats that are out there right now. Right now, the rate at which misinformation travels is so fast that if we all believe in the industry like the way we do, and again, the systems we have, it really takes 30 seconds, you're putting your zip code, their form letters there, and you tell your state reps, your federal reps that, hey, you oppose this. And the people we went voices heard. I mean, that's how we got to Shay, right? I mean, we started this conversation with that, Steve, as we got a gave us the ability to really balance consumer choice and consumer protection. And kept our promise with consumers. This is the same situation. I think it's just a different environment. I think so much of it too. I think people have fatigue coming out of COVID quite frankly. I think it's been so tough on businesses, especially brick and mortar retail over the past two years that I think there are some fatigue and we can appreciate that. We did a lot to keep businesses open. This is one where we got to get up for the fight again, so to speak. You had mentioned in this discussion that the initial bill that was brought up by senator Durbin didn't get any co signers. And now is looking to be packaged in another bill. How does that bill move forward in such a way? What are the steps in terms of where it is now? And the fact that it has this inserted in it, what's the likelihood that it can be pulled out of it? And if not, then where does the next intersection come from that consumers can have influence? Steve, this is a great question. We're going to get a little deep politically, but okay, so you have both the House and the Senate put there, so the house actually is marking up their proposal today. Luckily for us, the House version has nothing on supplements in it, which great. That's how it should be for the past 5 user fee authorizations. There's nothing on supplements in it. So let's get to that tradition. The Senate discussions are asked and that's not the final version. That's not what they're going to bring to the floor for a vote and for changes. So this is the first bite of the Apple. So this is a must pass Bill, right?.

"Locations in America, including retailers, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and creating suppliers. They're very concerned. And they're concerned for obviously the reasons in terms of costs is obviously a burden. And the burden is really only on the good guys. I don't know what problem something like this solves because Steve, I think it's pretty obvious. The notion that somehow, if there are products out there that are lurking in the shadows, usually on the Internet, unfortunately, people sell gas stations Viagra where they'll try to label it as a supplement. It's not a supplement. Never has been. Those folks aren't going to register. So who's it really going to hurt? It's only going to hurt to brick and mortar part of the industry. The health food stores that the folks who supply the health food stores. So that's going to add costs. It's going to add insurance costs. And it's a lot of redundancies and for what? And giving FDA a tool to eliminate new ingredients, things like CBD, things of that nature is just crushing to the industry. Absolutely crushing. It sounds like it's trying to solve a problem that doesn't really exist. And as I think we alluded to earlier, the problem that really exists is not the responsible members of the natural products industry who make these supplements. That's not the problem. We have plenty of regulation. We have plenty of facility oversight and investigations and good companies go above and beyond these regulations because one, it's in their interest. It's the kind of passion that they have for the products that they make. So this is not where we're having problems. And if we look at the industry, the under regulated part of the industry that is the problem, it seems to me there are the tools that can change that if they were just using the tools that they had now. But it seems if they're unwilling to do that and therefore impose new harsher restrictions that are largely unnecessary on the good players, the bad players don't care already. They're going to continue to do what they do as long as they can get away with it. And with the record of enforcement that they have, they'll have more free reign to sell bad products than good companies will have to sell good products. Do I hear that right? Yeah, you touched on something. You under regulated, I'd say under enforced. I mean, that's what we're talking about. There's got to be a deterrent effect. And that's a turn effect. If the people in the shadows go, wow, the agency is really just not active. They're going to be emboldened. I don't represent the industry that sells drugs and says they're supplements. I mean, they don't join trade association. I don't think the consumers confuse that some of the narrative would like everyone to believe, right? I think the folks that are looking for illegal products. They're looking for a real product. They can find them. That's not our industry. It never has been..

"Think the message here is that he's doing what he can to fight inflation You can not be an American anywhere And not see the impacts of inflation I went to go mow our grass this weekend and had to fill up a 5 gallon container and it cost me $21 And there's a way I've always got to take any opportunity I can to say there's a way to bring down every gallon the cost of every gallon of gas by 50 to 60 cents And that is to use more ethanol to go to biofuels That is how we can save money just like that So I come from corn country and soybean country and so I think that's something that we can do President Biden talked about that at the start of his speech And so I think there are things that the administration will take a look at things that the administration will do that has done and will do going forward to try to fight this thing that is just a beast right now As you say congresswoman the President Biden did specifically refer to biofuels ethanol in that speech At the same time was there anything new in the speech It sounded like it was things that we've heard before and do the Democrats want something new There are reports that for example senator Durbin is saying you got to do more than you're doing Look I'm in favor of having a strike force on inflation And that means you get the best minds in the country together the best economies economists in the country together You sit around and you hash out the best ideas we can possibly come up with And then we have a strike force that is addressing this at every angle What the president talked about and I think what he wants the American public to know is that we have corporations right now as we're facing this unbelievably difficult level of inflation You've got corporations that are making record profits And at the same time not paying their fair share in federal taxes So I think the point that he wants to make to the American public is hey big corporations that's making record.

"Jobs report and exploding coronavirus cases will a covert relief bill get done before the end of the year? The political roundtable on this week with George Stephanopoulos discusses From ABC News. It's this week here now. Chief anchor George Stephanopolous, Mary Bruce. We're seeing a preview right now of what it could be to come, and he's covered relief negotiations now going on in the cars course This is before we know the final results in the Senate, and Mitch McConnell. We just heard Senator Durbin. They're saying he's not sure McConnell will put any compromise package on the floor. Yeah, well, there is growing optimism, certainly on Capitol Hill, and we have seen a lot of Momenta, um over the last several days, but this is far from a done deal. And while Mitch McConnell has said he thinks a compromise is in reach, he still hasn't even endorsed this latest bipartisan compromise. What has really changed, though, is the involvement of Joe Biden. We saw since he came out and was willing to back this compromise promise. Democrats that this would just be the beginning. He keeps saying that they're going to doom or once he is in office. That, of course, is a big X factor as well. But that was enough to get Democrats on the hill to be willing to back this compromise, even though it falls far short of what they've been demanding, and part of the reason Joe Biden is so optimistic is because he thinks that he can ultimately get Republicans to work with him. We know he has been having those conversations on the hill. It certainly seems He has been speaking to Mitch McConnell. You know, I asked the president elect on Friday point. Blank has even having conversations with the Republican leader, and he notably didn't answer. He paused, He smirked, and he gave a classic non answer. But it just goes again to underscore the fact that if they can't even confirm that they're talking. That's part of the fact that Republicans aren't politically willing and able to recognize the Joe Biden has won this election, and Republicans are really In a box here, but But Joe Biden is confident that once he is in office that he will be able to get them to work with him that they will be able to do a larger package later on Injun January February, and he is confident that this compromise bill will pass. The question is, is Mitch McConnell gonna get on board And when will they be able to pass this John Karr, You covered both the President elect and Mitch McConnell for quite a long Time they have a working relationship, but that can only get you so far. It still comes down to who's got the votes. Absolutely George, and they did serve together for many years in the Senate, but they actually really developed their relationship. While Joe Biden was vice president. We we know we remember the Obama years for Republicans largely opposing every significant initiative of the Obama presidency, but there were Points of agreement, There were accomplishments and almost all of those were done with the direct involvement of Joe Biden and Mitch McConnell when they when they dealt with the fiscal cliff when they dealt with the extension of the Bush tax cuts when they dealt with raising the debt ceiling. These were almost always done it some level directly with McConnell working with Biden. And if you talk to people very close to Mitch McConnell They're bullish about this relationship. They say that they think that Biden is somebody they can trust that they can work with. And you hear it from Biden and optimism of being able to work with McConnell. But you don't hear George Is similar optimism from the rank and file from the From their really the center of gravity for each party. Each party sees the other as as unable Torto work in good faith so that the challenges will be enormous. But there is a real relationship. A real McConnell Biden relationship and serious You're one of the questions is going to be does the center of gravity shift to this group of Some moderate Democrats like Joe Manchin of West Virginia, and Republicans have been willing to buck at least their party on some issues in the past, like Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska Getting fact moves them to almost like a swing vote on the Supreme Court. Right. They become these dealmakers in the center Joe Biden is the first president in a long time to come into the presidency without having both houses of Congress. And what I think we're going to see is whether that, in fact will turn out to have been an opportunity. So many presidents in those first two years have shifted. Very partisanly because they have both houses of Congress than when they lose him in the midterms Trust has been eroded. But you wonder whether with those dealmakers in the center with Joe Biden, recognizing that he will need them to push through his agenda, whether in fact he will be better off getting more done. And if he's learned from the last two administrations, which really failed to accomplish much legislatively Someone argued the affordable care act for prefer President Obama was a pretty major accomplishment of the tax cut for President Trump, including the Supreme Court nomination were pretty significant accomplishments for him as well. But Jamie Harrison, let me bring you in on this right now. We're already seeing the cross pressures that play on the president elect as he names not made as he nominates people for his Cabinet. On the one hand, he's gotta worry about Republican opposition. The other hand, he's getting pushed by progressives in the party from more diversity, more progressive views losing George. I think at the end of the day, this is going to be probably the most verse administration that we've ever seen in this country. On the folks that Joe Biden are nominating. These folks are qualified. They're competent and they're not his family members. You're listening to come. Oh news your.

"My colleague here at Fox News, Katie, Good to have you back. Great to be here. Thank God All right, your overall thoughts on what we've seen from Amy Cockney Barrett over the last couple days. I think she's been absolutely incredible. She's been very even keeled with the questioning. She's a very patient and Respectful of every senator who asked her questions. You've taken tough questions from both Republicans and Democrats think it's very difficult for Democrats to really land any serious. Punches against her. Um especially senators, like Amy, Clover Char and Kamala Harris, for example, Senator Coons today so overall, I think she's done a wonderful job, and I think the country agrees, considering the more they see of her, the more they want her to be confirmed, probably among independent, so I think she's done a wonderful job, and I'm excited to see how the vote goes down in the Senate committee tomorrow and next week on the folklore. Dan, you're referring to A morning consul pole that's been tracking public support for her nomination. And confirmation has just been growing over time, and I think tomorrow it's unclear whether they're going to actually have the final vote out of committee tomorrow or next week. I guess the Democrats have a few tools at their disposal where they can push later into October, But I think unless something drastic changes, she's very, very likely to be confirmed. There was an exchange with Senator Durbin earlier today on The Second Amendment, gun rights versus voting rights and her position on it and he framed her position, she said It was quote a distortion. Then he tried again. Listen to cut 14. When you finished with your two said, Here's what it came down to say, if you are guilty of a felony that is not violent. You can lose your right to vote, but you can't lose your right to buy gun. My wrong. Senator Cantor had nothing to do with the right to vote the point that I was making in that passage. The 14th amendment actually expressly allows for states to deprive felons of the right to vote, and my point was that there was no similar language and the Second Amendment. I don't have an opinion and have never expressed one. About the scope of legislatures authority to take away felon voting rights. So Kate and I don't know if we can call this woman explaining, but it seemed like Senator Durbin needed a tutorial here on the differences between these two points that he was making about. The restoration of gun rights to certain felons versus voting rights to other fellas, she said. On the question of felons voting, the 14th amendment of the Constitution actually explicitly says that rights have the right that states have the right to deprive felons, whereas that language is not existed in the Second Amendment. He was, I guess trying to make this point to make her look like a hypocrite. But I think that he just kind of walked into a trap, and she Very politely but pointedly sprung it. Yeah, I think they were trying She heat. Senator Durbin did this tactic And as did Senator Blumenthal yesterday, Uh and I'm sure he'll do it today again. Dick Durbin brought this up yesterday and tried to make an argument that somehow she they're basically trying to paint her as someone who is willing to allow felons to purchase firearms. They're trying to explain and classify her as like a gun knife. Essentially who doesn't believe in limitations for felons, And the reason they brought that up is because during the cancer case, there was a question. About whether violent felons who will take the White.

"There was an attempt to turn a serious condition into an emergency, which is very different on the president's coming home from the White House. That is fine, but even his ride in the limo, which I think was intended as a memo as a message to Putin and G and others. Was turned into a scan or tried to. I just think the media's kind of lost its mooring and that has exacerbated political life in America. Oh, absolutely, because it is a 24 7 stream of consciousness. Basically where they have their agenda. They have their point of view they are not reporting. Facts and figures are stat are necessarily what is actually occurring. What they're reporting is their version of it, and they're the way they think things should proceed the way they think things should go. And so what they will do is take a situation. They give their opinion on that situation and then their assessment of what they think the next steps should be. You know, it's a Ziff. They're conducting predictive diagnosis on different situations, and then they're applying that writ large to what they think. Is going to transpire in in the future. The near future. I just think it is so wrong. Give me the facts. Lay it out and then let me make the decision. Well, I had to tell me what I think. A last question for you, Senator Leader. McConnell was my guest on Friday. I asked him if he agreed with me that at least four of your colleagues have violated Article six of the Constitution by imposing religious test on judicial nominees. He did agree. Senator finds time with the dog Mom lives deeply within you. Senator Durbin, whose himself a Catholic like me by asking Judge Barrett first hearing. Are you an Orthodox Catholic Senator Hirono by saying religion on the table, and Senator Harris by challenging the Knights of Columbus is a disqualifying membership. If this happens again, will you speak up in judiciary and demand of the question? Be gaveled out of order. There is a constitutional prohibition against this. Yes, indeed they areas and it should be gaveled out of order, and I think you will see the chairman step in. What they're trying to do is to say if you are a woman of faith. Who takes her Children to church every Sunday. Then that is a disqualifier and listening to my friends on the left you you would think that they have decided that only secularist or atheists are allowed to hold the seat on the U. S. Supreme Court. Do you have any any doubt She's going to be confirmed earlier said that she's going to get a vote. We haven't heard the hearings yet. Stuff can happen. "Ed Torrence, news ninety six point five WDBO would somebody intentionally lie. If you know shortly thereafter, you're going to be caught. I mean, that's I don't mean to be facetious. But he released the report, let's talk about the report if we want to John I want you to you Joe Lockhart said former spokesperson for a for president that was impeached. Cut eighteen he hates the president. And he believes that this is why he the president now reverse course, and does not want Muller to testify cut eighteen I do think there were you should be worried about molars testimony. There was a poll out this weekend. Three percent of Americans had read. The Mona report what Bob Muller does is he animates that. It's you know, it's a book. To a movie, this will be dramatic mower. You know, won't be theatric, but it will be dramatic to go through piece by piece what's the end the mall report? And the president definitely doesn't want that to happen. Troop, but he's going to get Republican questions to which your reaction. Well, Senator Durbin with all due respect. I think had a point when he said it's a book to a movie, it's exactly what it should not be prosecutors either prosecute of the do not prosecute. They don't go on national television before congress and explain their reasoning give arguments which could destroy some his reputation when that someone doesn't have a chance to answer it. It's just the every reason why he should not testify. I'd love to hear testify as a citizen, but as a lawyer, I just don't think it's appropriate. What's he going to say half of the questions he'd say he'd have to say with all due respect? That's just not something prosecutors can answer or he could just say it's in the report. And how well does, you know, the report the word is I don't know if you've heard this to John sale is that he does not, you know, use figurehead that these other people did the work printed out. And he's his name is on it that he'd lost. His fastball to a degree might be exposed to someone who doesn't know the detail on this. I I never considered it a witch hunt. I consider it a legitimate investigation. But I think they went too far. I know he's not a figurehead. He's a very capable attorney. But I'm confident that staff wrote the report, that's the way it always works. But I'm sure he read it. But the report. He absolutely did not follow the regulations regulations which said he gives a confidential report to determine general. And then he will explain why he would prosecute a wooden prosecute by not by ducking on the obstruction issue and not answering the question he then violated his own policy by setting out ten reasons that could be obstruction and not having as he pointed out. There was never an impartial tribunal to determine whether they were accurate or not accurate. That's a footnote this is well written. But it's like a brief. It's only a prosecute is quote unquote findings. It's not judge during excecutioner seven tested. But the congress has appropriate oversight to do let them do it. They don't need the mullahs report. Let them do whatever they have the report. And if they go too, far, they'll pay the price. In November of two thousand twenty. Lastly, you were fired in the Saturday night massacre. Don, Mcgann in this reference, if I fire if I tell Rosenstein afire fire say's conflicted, I'll be part of a Saturday night massacre as I paraphrase, he's wrong. Right. Well, the short answer is he's wrong. Because nothing happened anybody who's under investigation occasionally one does, you know, this prosecutor really out to get me. You know, the president also quoted in the report several times said oh my God. This is interfering with my ability to govern Cinta fearing with my ability to deal with foreign leaders that sought obstruction. But the bottom line. The short answer answer is I and my colleagues. My boss will fire the Saturday night basket. Believe me, we were nobody was fired here. So that's the simple answer. That's quite a difference. John sale. Thanks her my behind closed doors. I fired our oldest all those people behind the glass. I fire them all. But I've never followed through with it. Therefore, you cannot do you cannot condemn me if everybody behind closed doors is forced to own up or pay a price for what they say. No one would ever say anything to anybody. You're the president states. You're allowed to have a situation where you pop off and warrants Lindsey Graham once in a while John sales been great seeing you out to talking to you again and see on TV on Wednesday. Thank you. "And I will tell you the following. You have to have specific intent to obstruct Justice. If there's no underlying crime. Pretty hard to figure out what intent might be. If there was never crime to begin with. The president never did anything to stop Muller from doing his job. So I guess theory goes now, okay? He didn't collude with the Russians and he didn't specifically do anything to stop Muller, but attempted obstruction Justice of crime never occurred. I guess is sort of the new standard around here. We'll see if that makes any sense to me it doesn't. Now, there's another campaign Clinton campaign. What have we learned from this report the Russians interfered in our election? So can some bipartisanship come out of this hope so? I attend to work. "Here's Steve Bertrand. Attorney general William bar continues his testimony on Capitol Hill before the Senate Judiciary committee. Let's stop being just a bit here. Senator Durbin talking to general now two hundred and twenty on Don Mcgann experience, the president wanted him to stay publicly the New York Times article was it was untrue that he had not asked Mcgann to fire the special counsel Mcgann refused, and there's some speculation as to whether he risked being dismissed or even resigning over this issue. And for you to suggest that this was some sort of a kabuki dance with rob Rosenstein. I think the president's intent here was very clear he wanted this to end he told Lester Holt going back to the issue that was raised by the chairman earlier here the reason to get rid of me because the Russian investigation I mean over and over again this. President was very explicit, and certainly is very expository in style. So I don't let me ask you this conclusion. My time is up. Do you have any objections? Can you think about objection? Why Don Mcgann should come and testify before this committee about his experience? Yes. I mean, I think that he's he he he's a close adviser to the president of the president ever exerted executive privilege. Excuse me may have already waived is now we haven't waived executive privilege. Well at this point. Do you believe you're saying what about Bob mower, should he be allowed to testify before this? "Being with you. Before he pulls the plug on the legislative option. And I think we're almost there. I would urge him to open up the government for a short period of time like three weeks before he pulls the plug. Safeway can get a deal if we can at the end of three weeks all bets are off to see if you can do it by himself, the emergency powers. That's my recommendation. From Republican Senator Lindsey Graham on Fox News Sunday this morning proposing a new compromise for the president to accept how did you? How can I bring this to you reformer Senator you've work with a lot of these is this the answer right now. Do you think as we heard Senator Durbin saying up two Republican senators say pushed the president towards the compromise? Is this the answer? Maybe they need a cooling off period. And one of the things that the legislation that's pending right now what open up every branch except DHS which would then be given a continuing resolution. I think what Lindsay saying there is that everything should just get a dance on a continuing resolution, which will keep the pressure on will take an opportunity for everybody cooled down a little bit and start negotiating. And I think that it's it's not a bad proposal. The problem that you have is that if the president decides he's for it. And then tomorrow decides these against it, then he's left all of his Republican senators out there in the cold and their stock trying to explain to their base why they're against the president. I guess that's what happened. I guess. The question is. Could someone glitzy grandma's has become in some ways, the president's best friend in the Senate can someone like him convinced the president something he doesn't want to accept.

We're gonna open up to make sure that people get food stamps when open up a HUD in order to make sure that housing vouchers and the interior so people use their parks. Let me ask you this. When is enough enough? I wanna play a clip from guy named anywhere you from thousand eleven take. Okay. There does come a time. When the American public expect us to be able to act gridlock is not what they voted for the priorities that we have agreed to in. This resolution are not my priorities. But we have reached agreement basically have said you have supported things you've had to vote for things you haven't supported before. And it'll happen again shocked. Let me reiterate what we voted for last Thursday. We're Republican bills all Republican bills. No democratic built and we took them as they were passed the Senate. We're going to do the same thing this week the differences will do it by Bill by Bill. So we can help taxpayers. We can help people who need food assistance, and we help people who need housing of. Ouch is people who need flood insurance. We'll do it one by one. I would hope that Mitch McConnell as the leader of the United States Senate would represent the congress of the United States, the Coequal branch that says we believe we ought to open up government Mitch McConnell believes we ought to open up government at the end of the day, you need a presidential signature right at the end of the day. You need a presidential signature government. You may not like any of the ways that the president has conducted himself. How? How he's conducted these negotiations they you could claim they've not been in good faith win. Is it pretty close to winter? When is it your responsibility say these federal workers gotta get paid. And I may have to eat this. We are. We don't think the wall is a good technology to do the objective. This is a substantive argument. The reason I read these Republican views that say the wall is not the technology. We ought to pursue is because this is a difference of substance. We ought to have that argument on the substance and not be held hostage. Eight hundred thousand federal employs millions of people need food stamps. What is your? They're holding them hostage. He and he may be doing this. Visit some point don't these people need to get paid for strengthening border security. And as a matter of fact, one of the positive things that happened in the meeting with big eight as it's called was Senator Durbin brought up the fact that there was insufficient dollars in the in the homeland security Bill to have the technology to to have the electronic ability to see what's in all these trucks coming across our border every day. We're we're prepared to go. She on that. Are you? Let me say anything on offense. Chuck they steal fence. And they doesn't call it a wall. Can you accept that? Chuck let me say we've done fencing in the past as you'll you'll do it in the future does fencing the past. However, what is happening today? And hopefully, the administration will come the administration has not come up with any specific plan as now they're going to spend this money. Now, remember, I understand it was the last guy or is the president said to Mitch McConnell. I will sign this Bill. Mitch McConnell signed a Bill. He sent it to the house. We were prepared to vote for that. How for that Bill? But the Republicans wanted to shut down the government we need to open up government. And then go she ate not the other way around because we're prepared to negotiate and we're prepared to have the homeland security Bill approved for short term. So that we have to negotiate is an impeachment process evitable. No, don't think impeachment processes is inevitable, and that's not what we're focused on. We're focused on subsidy bills. Then we got to focus on getting the government open. That's our primary I responsible way to distraction. I think peach. Talks right now are distraction. We'll have to see what the Muller report says Nancy, and I have both said that we voted that way on the floor of the house represents what we wanna do is concentrate on our subsidy..

"Amac dot us that's amac dot us help your country while you're helping yourself and speaking about helping our country if president trump appoints as many people expect either judge brett cavanaugh or judge amy coney barrett we will be a very fortunate country and i do believe that judge barrett will find herself confirmed now will there be people oppose her confirmation sure there were last time she when her confirmation came up she went before the senate judiciary committee in october of last year and they ended up voting on a party line vote to recommend her she ended up winning confirmation with fifty five votes in the senate but here was some of the interrogation and that's what it was of judge barrett by judge dick durbin and judge dick durbin of senator dick durbin and senator would be a not senator dick durbin and senator dianne feinstein who by the way is not a lawyer actually interrogating judge barrett do you consider yourself in orthodontics catholic i am a catholic senator durbin when you read your speeches the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you and that's of concern when you come to big issues that large numbers of people have fought for for years in this country okay the problem the dogma meaning the dogma of the catholic church lives inside you does that mean that the the other five members of the bench right now they're five supreme court justices right now who are roman catholic and does that mean that they should have been disqualified to here's the way the judge barrett responded in part it's never appropriate for a judge to impose that judge's personal convictions whether they derived from faith or anywhere else okay that's exactly the point you can have personal convictions she obviously does but the whole point of the constitution is those are your convictions you don't force other people to follow them and you don't force the law to follow them and at times you don't disqualify laws based upon your personal convictions you can't do that only based upon the plain text of the constitution that's what another devout catholic named antonin scalia taught meanwhile there's one other indication that i need to share with you which is just so encouraging and it's front page of the new york times today and it's just wonderfully encouraging and it's about why the supreme court issue the issue of the next justice in court is so crucial at so vitally important the headline says supreme court labor decision wasn't just a loss for unions and then the piece by noam scheibner says the supreme court decision striking down mandatory union fees for government workers was not only a blow to unions it will also hit hard at a vast network of groups dedicated to advancing liberal policies and candidates some of these groups work for immigrants and civil rights others produce economic research still others turn out voters are run ads in democratic campaigns together they have benefited from tens of millions of dollars a year from public sector unions funding now in jeopardy because the perspective decline in union revenue and then they quote director of move on dot org the progressive movement is a navy they're trying to take out our aircraft carriers no trying to take out your aircraft carriers were trying to take out is the force funding of those aircraft carriers by people who don't support them you see this idea that this is a blow at unions wiser to blow it unions it isn't it's a blow at union's ability to force people to pay for stuff that they don't want to support now already they are saying that oh no no no you're just supporting collective bargaining this article in the new york times shows that the unions habitually the public employee unions are using their union dues for all kinds of partisan political activity and of course it's always on the left congratulations to justice kennedy on his role in this last crucial decision of his service we'll be right back on the medved show it's time for medvid on movies josh brolin commands a super secret cia unit of brunel trained killers who are now taking on the mexican drug cartels in sakari oh day.
