"The hour, Senator David Perdue is defending his seat in the Georgia Senate runoff race against this radical far left guy who's really never accomplished. Much of anything. Frankly, John Ross off It is a real honor to join on our guest line. Senator David Perdue here on the Mike Gallagher show, Senator. I know you've been in quarantine. How you feeling? I know you've you Like many of us. It feels like Cove. It's all around us. And what? What timing? Huh? What? What? What a serious of events that have led to a big day like today, huh? Well, thanks, Mike. My wife and I were exposed last week on our 100 bus tour. Stop. We had a couple of our teammates on our team test positive so We've gone into Corentin following our doctor's advice, but we continue to test negative, but my wife and I do so we finished strong. We have no symptoms are bus tour from Hey hired Hiawassee. These are two great towns in the northern part of southern part of our state. It was our win. Georgia Save America Tour. We took it to the people to explain. What's it stake here? And I so appreciate what you've been doing on your show to make sure that people George and know that it's not just a vote for a U. S. Senator. It really is about the direction of our country. No question, and I want on on a personal note I want. I want our audience to know how incredibly accessible you have been to our audience to our listeners. You have been tremendous and I'm grateful so much because you're taking your message right to the people. You know, we have many thousands of listeners in Georgia and people throughout the country who Listen to wash and and who are so plugged in and so engaged in this process, the election process the election of 2020 your race today, and I'm just grateful for your willingness to always answered the call and talk to our listeners because you know and has nothing to do with me. It has to do with our audience, and I'm grateful senator produced for your willingness to be so. Accessible tol Mike Gallagher show. I just played this clip Senator from Rapids Burger with this weird personal grudge he seems to have about you owing him an apology for his wife or something. I just got a text message that I'd like you to respond to from a listener in Georgia, Who says Wow. Funny that Brad Rapids, Berger told Martha MacCallum that he would be willing to talk to Senator Purdue off the record off the record. Unbelievable. This is after he takes an off the record conversation with the president of the United States and blows it wide open. My goodness, Senator what? What are you up against? With the secretary of state? They're in Georgia. Well, he just did some things in the state this year with Stacey Abrams that consent to create all that that I began to take issue When we saw the irregularities in the November election, we would we didn't get answers. Kelly left when I called for his resignation. Look like I don't condone any threats on anybody that but his contention that somehow I owe him an apology for that is just misguided. I issued that request. It is for his resignation because of in confidence, basically. My concern is really that we get to some answers, and we fix this in Georgia. How that effects today is, you know a second and issue and what we're trying to convince people here is that even if you were upset with November your only alternative to stand up and fight rise up with us fight with the president, he said it last night bring a tidal wave of votes. So that they can't overcome us with any of this potential irregular activity. Now what we've got to do is in the state of Georgia today, we got to do what we did in November. That is good. Solid conservative Republicans showed up on Election day They offered up a photo I d. Mike, and they voted legally. And so that's what we gotta do today. If you're upset about November, you only have one option. You can opt out. This is too important not about killing left. It's not about me, but it's about the future of our country is not just protecting against all the things that Democrats have said they will do. It's providing a backstop to keep them from undoing a lot of the things that we've done under President Trump the last four years, Senator away help six I didn't interrupt. I'm so sorry, but I just You're got to expand on your point. If this is so crucial, if if Americans and of Georgians are concerned about election integrity, the on Lee shot we've got Get to the bottom of everything. The on leeway we've got we're gonna have accountability is for senators like David Perdue in the U. S. Senate, leading the charge with a Republican majority to go forward and investigate and uncover and overturn every rock and I'm confident you're going to do that. Well, I've called to object to the electors tomorrow on January 6th and in D C because we have not in the state of Georgia answered the potential irregularities, and therefore I question the certification here. So I thank you for calling that out. It really is bigger than any of us. This is the election, As Joe Biden said yesterday when he was in Atlanta is generational. In the reason, he said, that is because they know they're going to change the direction of the country. And once they do that, as you called out, Mike We won't be able to reverse that anytime soon, Right and, incidentally, sent Kelly Lefler is also said that she will will will object to the electorate of votes as well. So both of you are on board with that, you know, Senator producer I'm reminded of the old story about the guy that was on the roof with the flood's coming and a rowboat kept coming to rescue him. And he said, no God's gonna provide God's gonna provide that he drowned and he got to heaven and he said, God, why'd you let me drown? And God said life sent you three rowboats. I mean, we have David Perdue and Kelly Leffler in front of his Georgians have an opportunity We gotta pray with. This is a spiritual battle in many ways, But we also have a very pragmatic way. T o keep this country from going down the tubes and you, you hold the key and I'm praying for you, Senator. I'm glad you're you've tested negative and again. I'm so grateful for your willingness to come on the Mike Gallagher show. As you have, and I know we're going to talk again. A lot in 2021, sir. We will assay U s senator. Thanks so much. Bless You better believe it. Thank you, Senator. God bless. Keep fighting The good fight Senator David Perdue. Here on the Mike Gallagher show and,.

"He's up against Republican Senator David Perdue, Emma for people who have somehow missed this news briefly give us an overview of this of this call. Yes. So the president and some of his advisers spoke with the secretary of state in Georgia and some of his attorneys and members of his offices well to talk through, it seems some of the grievances that the president has had with George's election system. Meanwhile, the secretary of State's office has really set itself apart in Georgia by refusing to acknowledge voter fraud, widespread voter fraud by saying, Look, we know that our election system was secure that no widespread voter fraud happened and this is the president. Trying. Tonto basically convince the secretary of state it seems to help him find find votes to flip the state, which you know, as the governor said last week that barn that horse has left the barn and Georgia it's It's in D C now with the electoral college vote, And so this was just Really? Um, you know, the president has been talking about voter fraud on Twitter for weeks now, but to hear it in this call to hear him lobbying. A state official like this and to hear the officials calmly refuting these claims and calmly, you know, saying, Mr President, That's not true. We we can't do that. Was really remarkable. What we got this message from David on Facebook, who says 3.5 years ago, I heard a pundit predict that following Trump's base, rather than having a core platform would destroy the Republican Party. It will be interesting to see how the party reacts. If they lose this election, Brian Kemp is wise to distance himself from it. Last week, the president once again, said Georgia's Republican governor, Brian Kemp should resign. We should mention Rapids Burger is also a Republican. How is this shaking up Georgia's establishment on the Republican side? You know, there's the morale among Republicans that I've spoken to today and yesterday is not great. Right now. This is you know, it's it's not. This is new, but it's following a path that we've been going down here. Um for Republicans in Georgia, where the president has been openly criticizing people that he used to endorse, including Robyn's Burger and Governor Kemp and really sowing confusion among Republican voters. He's telling people to vote tomorrow in the run offs, but at the same time, you know, questioning that the system and November calling it you know, saying it was fraudulent and so There's just been this whole mess of messages coming out of the White House. And the big worry right now, for Republicans, of course, is if this you know if this dissuades just a couple just a couple 1000 Republican voters From turning out tomorrow. That could be the difference in what are really competitive Senate races Give us a snapshot of the race as it stands right now. How close are these races? Really close. I mean the polling. It's the polling is has been too close to call for some time, but I think what we've seen kind of has a higher level narrative is at the beginning of this. You know these road the Republicans races to lose. Republicans outperformed Democrats in these two Senate races in November, even though Biden did narrowly carry the state. And, um, and here we are, You know, the day before the election and given the president's rhetoric and the kind of the civil war that has erupted in the Republican Party where there really wasn't one before. It's it's looking. It's looking even closer than people might assume because Republicans Air the incumbent party in Georgia, and so Republican voters tend to turn out better. They're better at voting, right Andare more reliable, particularly for races like the run offs, But you know these. These clearly aren't normal run offs, so there are a lot of people who are going to be voting now and so those those normal rules about Republicans winning run offs. Might not apply here. I'm a very briefly put the early voting numbers in into perspective Force more than 2.3 Million people have already cast their vote. What does that mean for this election? Yeah, it's it's actually grown. It's now more than three million, and that is turnout. That's below the 2020 run on 2020 Turn out, you know at this time in early voting, but we've got nearly 120,000 new voters in this runoff number. It didn't vote in the general. So that's another important number that everybody's looking at. We're talking about tomorrow's Senate run offs and Georgia with Emma Hurd POLITICS REPORTER it W A. B E. That's Atlanta's NPR station. Now today, both the president and the president elect are heading down South. Donald Trump will rally in Dalton County for the Republicans. Joe Biden will rally in Fulton County for the Democrats. One of the would be senators, Biden is rallying on behalf of his Democratic candidate, John US off his campaign slogan is Vote Your Ass off. He's up against Republican Senator David Perdue. And he joins us now to talk about his bid. John, I know you're having a busy week, so thanks for making time to check in. Thank you so much for having me Hello from Augusta, Georgia. We just finished a rally with Reverend Warnock. But we should also note that we asked all four candidates to join us in the invitation still stands So as of December 30th year, one point ahead in the polls. That's according to Fivethirtyeight Average of all run off pulling the election was head to head Now the run off his head to head Where do you see your best path to victory? This is all about energizing record shattering turnout, and we're encouraged by the turnout. We've seen an early vote, particularly among young voters and black voters. We've building a historic coalition in Georgia that really represents the rise of New South. Since the early 19 seventies, the Republican strategy in the South has been to divide people along racial and cultural lines so that people from different backgrounds failed to grasp their shared economic and health interests. And here in these two all important Senate run offs and Georgia Now you've got the young Jewish son of an immigrant mentor by John Lewis. That's me running alongside Senior pastor at Ebeneezer Baptist Church, a black preacher who pastored John Lewis. That's Reverend Raphael Warnock. And that represents how far Georgia has come in the last 10 years and indeed, over the last half century. Well, we got this message from Lisa on Facebook. Who says Georgia voter here? I wasn't thrilled with either of my choices. I only voted for one of the run offs because I could not in good conscience vote for either candidate. And the other for people who are concerned about the division of power in Congress. You say one party controlling the House Senate and presidency is too much power. How do you respond to that concern? Well, look. If Mitch McConnell and Republicans maintain control of the Senate, the result will be paralysis and gridlock. Think folks will remember how Barack Obama was treated by the Republican Senate. In his second term, McConnell and his caucus will exercise power ruthlessly for powers own sake. They will block Progress that we need. They will block the covert relief that people need. I mean, even right now, with a Republican president who supports $2000 stimulus checks. And a Democratic president elect, who supports $2000 stimulus checks and overwhelming public opinion. Supporting generous direct covert relief for the American people. McConnell is blocking $2000 checks. So imagine what he will do when it is a Democrat in the White House, increasing the minimum wage. He'll block its civil rights and voting rights legislation. Hill Block it the kind of investment in infrastructure and clean energy that we need. We'll block it, so the choice here is between progress and paralysis and the people of Georgia are voting in record numbers for progress. Do you see this as a Mitch McConnell issue or a Republican Party issue? Well, look, Mitch McConnell is who he is on the nature of Washington right now, sadly, is such that divided government will yield.

Georgia election: All you need to know about key Senate runoff races

"Critical Georgia run offs, which will determine control of the Senate. The latest FIVETHIRTYEIGHT polling averages show the race is nearly deadlocked. Republican incumbent David Perdue trails Democratic challenger John Assaf. By about a percentage point in the regular election, while Senator Kelly La Flor, who was appointed to fill a vacancy trails her Democratic challenger, the Reverend Raphael Warren, up by almost two points in the special election. Our correspondent Rachel Scott, is in Atlanta with the very latest. Good morning, Rachel. Martha Good Morning, and Georgia already seeing record voter turnout for a special election. More than three million have already cast their ballot here who had just 48 hours ago. One of the Republicans in the race, Senator David Perdue, is now on the sidelines. He isn't self quarantine after coming into close contact with a campaign staffer who tested positive for covert 19. And the stakes could just not be higher. Republicans are calling this their last line of defense Democrats say what happens here in Georgia will set the course of Joe Biden's presidency. So to pull this off, Democrats would have to win both of their races that would bring the split in the Senate to 50 50 and then Vice President elect Kamila Harris would serve As the tie breaking vote. But if one of those Democratic candidates lose just one of their races, Republicans will be hanging on to majority in the Senate. And at this point, it's all about turning out the base to vote. So that's why tomorrow you will see President Trump and President elect Joe Biden campaigning here, he don't know. Biden was the first Democrat to win the state of Georgia and nearly 30 years. Runoff elections in this state have largely favored Republicans. But then on the flip side, you have some Republicans who are concerned that the president's own words that the election is rigged. That these runoff are invalid will then cost them majority in the Senate mark back. And Rachel Scott. Thanks very much for more. Let's bring in the former Democratic leader in the Georgia House of Representatives and the founder of Fair Fight, Stacey Abrams. Good morning to you. We've seen those polls that give Democrats a slight edge. But is there anything you're seeing on the ground that gives you concern? No concern? Just a great deal of urgency. We did very well in vote by mail. We did very well in early vote, but we know Election Day is going to be the likely high turnout day for Republicans, So we need Democrats who haven't cast their ballots to turn out. If they have any questions to go toe I will vote dot com to find their polling places and two months ago even is Joe Biden was winning Georgia John Assaraf trailed Republican David Perdue by nearly 90,000 votes and in the special election. The Republican candidates combined for nearly 50,000 more votes than the Democrats. I know that roughly 75,000 new voters have been registered since early November. How certain are you that those are Democrats were very certain that most of those were Democrats. Given the composition based on race and age, and let's be clear. We know a number of the people who voted for Joe Biden. As Democrats sometimes just skip the rest of the ballot. They came out to vote for the president because of a number of low propensity voters who came out for Democrats. What we're so excited about is that we haven't stopped reaching those voters. Millions of contacts have been made. Thousands of new registrations have been held, and we know that at least 100,000 people who did not vote in the general election are now voting in this election, and they again are disproportionately young and disproportionately people of color and does the fact that Biden outperform the Senate races indicate that his win really was more about President Trump than it was representative of some kind of ideological shift to the Left in the state. Not at all. We know that for new voters, especially new voters of color, There's a tendency to only vote in races where they are certain of the outcome. They know Joe Biden. Joe Biden's been a part of American politics for 40 plus years and so for a number of new voters, they're going to vote on Lee when they're confident. That's why we spent this time over the last nine weeks, educating voters about Jon Ossoff's and Raphael Warnock. They've crisscrossed the state and we believe we've closed that distance and that the voters that are turning out now absolutely no them and are standing by their sides and voting for them and you

"And Georgia people there will have to deal with another one for two runoff races for U. S Senate seats. Neither Republican incumbent got more than 50% of the vote. Republican Senator David Perdue under the 50% mark. Georgia law. That means he's gonna have to have a runoff against his 33 year old Democratic opponent, John Asaf, who is campaigning on a platform of change. Here's Ausaf enough incompetence. Corruption division produce campaign released the following statement. John s off, does two things well burned through out of state liberal money and lose elections. The other race will feature Republican Senator Kelly Leffler against Democratic challenger Reverend Raphael Warnock. Both races will be held on January 5th. Two months after the South Korean cargo ship, the Golden Ray capsized and partially sank near ST Simon's Island. Work has begun to remove the wreck and the 4200 vehicles it was carrying. Salvage crews will use a ship's anchor chain hanging from a crane as a giant chain saw to cut the ship into eight pieces, which will then be lifted on the barges. Hold the way to a salvage yard, expecting contaminants and debris falling into the water. They've surrounded the vessel with containment booms and they want it won't be pretty. "Big 10 football returns this weekend, apparently so they're they're all very excited. Everybody's very excited about this. Football continues. The Ravens are doing well. Everybody's excited about that. We've got a presidential election coming up. Everybody seems angry about that. Everybody's freaking out over this. Is amazing to me. It really is amazing to me. You do, Senator David Perdue. Georgie? You probably don't know. Oh, David Purdue is because you don't need to know who David Purdue is. But he got into trouble. With the thought police. Over what? He It was a joke, right? He was at an event with the president. And he mispronounced the name Camilla. If you have to pronounce it, Ala Kum like it's like a French person. They say. You know what my saying That's different than you. Did you say Camilla? Kamala any kind of its problematic It wasn't 20 minutes ago before she wass. The vice presidential choice of Joe Biden. But when she became the VP choice of Joe Biden, it was a scandal and mispronounced her name. I remember the day that she was announced. And Richard Good state was on with Tucker Carlson. And he kept on Tucker pronounced her name. However, he pronounced your name, but it wasn't how she pronounces her name. Apparently. And he said, Well, you need to pronounce. Show the respect to say her name properly like, how the hell did you say her name? It's it's spelled like it is. It's pronounced like it's spelled K A M A. L, A camellia. No. Everybody knows that the first a pronounced like Oh, and it's pronounced comma like a comma with a lot at the end of it, Okay, that doesn't make any sense. Cause it's not spelled like comma. Carol. See instead. Okay. Oh, if it's supposed to be pronounced, like an O. You can put a no in there. There's nothing stopping you, but okay. I get it. That's she's weird. Everybody knows somebody like is really annoying about how they pronounce their name rather than just getting over it. Correcting it Over time. No, no, no. Camel. Harris has never really been like that, as far as I know, noticed until she became the vice presidential nominee, and then it freed up the left to say that it is racist to mispronounce her name and think pieces have been written in major publications in this country about out his pronouncing her name. Is racist and you ask yourself. How is that racist and seek not logic in the ways of the left. You're never going to find it. Don't even bother trying. So when David Perdue at a rally, mispronounced her name, he then Sort of made a joke about it. Made a joke about it. And he caught hell for that joke. This is going to be cut. 10. This is David Perdue. At a rally. Making fun of you can even call it that. Kamala Harris is name cut. 10. Go ahead. I don't know. Whatever. Whatever. He's just having fun. Yet so many Democrats have gone absolutely crazy about this Hawaii senator Brian Chance who is just an incredibly stupid person. I mean, he's actually Relative to Maisy Hirono. He might be the smart one might be Watch the video. It was not an accident. He's not sorry because David Perdue was badgered into apologizing for it. Who's badgered into apologizing for it. TV producer and writer for the Daily Beast. Scott Porch. David produces a racist. His opponent is not. He doesn't signal dog whistle slurs to Georgians. Making fun of signalling dog with a dog whistle, you know, like the like the people in the country were unaware. That Kamala Harris is black until they heard David Perdue. Make fun of her name. And then suddenly, like, Oh, my God! I woke up my inner racist. Let's do this. This is great. I didn't thank you. God for showing me that this woman was not white. Even though that's what 95% of what's written instead of outer in all the coverage of the wonderful she's historic. My God, she's a historic. Did you know the chief's historic if I mentioned the cheese, historic But he's a racist dog whistle. David Axelrod, Barack Obama's campaign manager. Tweeted out. Senator David Perdue serves on the Senate committee with Kamala Harris. He knows damn well how to pronounce her name. This cheap pandering at yesterday's Donald Trump rally has created a backlash against Purdue, and it should And it should. Did you realize that in that short six second clip that we just played that you were witnessing a hate crime taking place? Did you know that? Did you call the FBI? Or will you just wait for them to contact you? Because obviously they've got to be going to every American in the country so that people will know that this sort of racism will not stand. I shall not stand. Everybody's Gandalf. They shall not pass. We must destroy this kind of horrible, horrible racism. Oh, by the way, have you noticed that the Democrats make fun of the way Republicans talk the way the Republicans look. And by Republicans. You don't have to look at many of them. But just Donald Trump. Huge, huge, big Lee. How many times have you heard a Democrat mark that That racist. God, It was a horrible, horrible racist actually get probably They're Democrats or his hair. His looks. Nancy Pelosi called him morbidly obese. It's a horrible Why's she body shaming him. They have no standards They make this stuff is they go up. They go along and everybody on the left goes right along with it said he said, Camilla, calm a llama Lama Ding dong like Oh, okay, rather than just going alright, David, Very chicken boy. There you go. There's your response. There's a way to handle it. Not Oh, he's such a racist. I had no idea I do declare. I've never heard anything so racist in my whole wide. Well and you've let her charmed life if you're able to get upset about this. If this is what constitutes race days than racism is done, it's over. We're going to stick a fork in it. Let's call it a day. Racism is over. Mispronouncing a name. In the middle of a speech that is not pronounced the way it's spelled. Because when whose word do we have to go on it? We have her word to go on it. I want to know from her parents if they're still alive, If this is the actual pronunciation of it, I want to know why they didn't spell it with an oh, they were so afraid of the racist attacks on their sweet, sweet, nourishing daughter. By mispronouncing her name. Then why would they spell it in a way that is not pronounced. Right? We got to get to the bottom of these things in the name of Officer something. Give me Let's play David Perdue again just to put a fine point on how stupid these people are. He's clearly speaking. And he meant to say it..
