"More than $8 billion will go toward direct cash payments for income eligible Californians as part of a covid relief package. California's new fiscal year begins July 1st in Sacramento. Part of the state's proposed spending plan includes $20 Million to help the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority recover from the mass shooting that rock to the agency last month. The funds would help the Vita resume light rail service that was halted after the shooting, along with repairs and safety upgrades. State Senator Dave Cortese is one of the proposal's authors.
