Trump demands reporter takes off his mask at press conference
"Take it off the president of the United States telling a reported to take off his mask to ask a question. Then moments later applauding another reporter for not wearing one those exchanges part of a rambling nearly fifty minute press conference a press conference that was really more political rally a political rally in disguise or maybe not. so much of a disguise filled with wildly inaccurate statements including this one about the handling of the pandemic. We are. An absolute leader in every way. An absolute leader in every way, and that follows the president's tweets this morning which he claimed he's getting. Very high marks and our handling of the corona virus especially compared to other countries and areas of the world. Now compared to other countries, the US is leading in overall cases when it comes to getting the virus under control though when it comes to having a plan, not leading the president continues to focus on a vaccine one that isn't approved or even available. We're going to have a vaccine very soon. Maybe even before a very special date data, I'm talking about. Well we know what that date is. It's the election day and yes, everyone wants a vaccine but we're waiting on that we know what works masks and the president really still not advocating it. That's not an absolute leader. The country again is at a crossroads there's an opportunity here for the president he can lead he can put forth a plan to slow down the spread of the virus. And most importantly, he can follow that plan himself or he can continue to undermine the nation's top experts like he did today when he disparaged once again, one of the only tools that has been proven to stop the spread of the virus mask. It's something that could also save as many as one hundred, twenty, two, thousand lives by the end of this year according to one influential model. The president. The issue of what happened when you were. Cleaning you're going to have to take that office. You can take it off your your health feel your wed.. Well if you don't take it off year. Old So. If you would take it off, would be a lot easier. A lot lot better. It's better. Better. The president. As you see, they're trying really hard to get Jeff Mason to take off his mask. I'm going to speak with him in just a moment moments later though the president was praising another journalists for not wearing a mask. Space on some of your tweets Do you you sound so clear? As opposed to everybody else where they refuse. Jeff Mason Reuters, White House correspondent is out front Jeff. This of course is not the first time that the president has tried to get you to take your mask off during a press conference. Of course, just on Friday, he was telling all of us to wear masks over the holiday weekend. When he's asking you to take that mask off. Do you think it was really that he just couldn't hear you couldn't understand you or was there a different purpose there? It's a good question. I think he probably does have a little bit of trouble hearing and I think having had a microphone there. If the White House had set, one up might have helped but I my solution was just to speak a little bit louder. And I think that that took care of it. In that case, the fact that he ended up raising another colleague later, who didn't have a mask on though does go to the mixed messaging that this president has employed on masks throughout the pandemic he did start to embrace them more in the last month or two wearing one for the first time in public when he went to. A military hospital but certainly for the first several months of the pandemic that was not a standard for this president and as you noted in your introduction. It is very clear. The science is very clear now that wearing masks and have a a huge impact. Yeah it certainly is I was really struck today in watching this press conference. The president really seemed to be using this time to air variety of grievances and what's fascinating too is that this was happening, of course at the White House and yet there were a number of moments that felt like that airing of grievances was really more of a campaign rally. Yeah. I mean the the president didn't have any other events today for Labor Day while his opponent was out campaigning although he does have a robust campaign travel schedule coming up. So it's not that the president is planning to stay home but he did today and he used the backdrop of the white. House. As the setting for news conference in which as you say, he went off on on many different topics criticizing very sharply vice, President Joe, Biden, and Senator Comma Harris for their basically. Criticism of him on the vaccine and also taking off a number of other grievances with regard to the economy to Russia and to the Atlantic reporting about his alleged comments about US war dead is it your sense and even from your sources at the White House that we will be seeing more of this briefing miserable takes you back to the coronavirus briefings right? which eventually stopped as we know because of some of the statements that the president made but are we going to see more of these? Briefings that are really just a a rally in disguise well, those those corona virus briefing stopped and then they did restart again shorter versions in the White House press room This was not that particular model today since he was outside and it was not. One of the shorter briefings. But yeah, I think on the days that he does not campaign or isn't out traveling for the campaign he still wants to get his message across and he has used the White House and use the podium beat in the briefing room or be it today in front of the North Puerto Rico. Puerto. Rico as a place to get that message out and he starts with several minutes of his own. Comments and then take some questions and that's what he did today. To, get back to your question. Yeah I'm sure I'm sure we'll see that again.
Joe Biden, Kamala Harris Reject Republicans’ Criticism over Civil Unrest

The American Jewish Community and the 2020 US Election
"Soifer previously served as national security adviser for Senator Comma Harris now, the Democratic nominee for vice president and Joe Biden's running mate. She joins us now to talk about the role. Jewish. Voters play and how she believes. Democrats addressed. Jewish. Priorities please keep in mind. AJC. Is a five. Oh One C. Three not profit organization AJC neither supports nor opposes candidates for elective office and with that disclaimer Haley welcome thank you so much for having me. So let's start with the basics and Kinda, the horse race aspect of this how much of the American voting population identifies as Jewish? So the Jewish community in terms of the American population is about two percent, but we're actually about three percent of the electorate and we'd play an outsized role in. NHS for three reasons, we voted higher rates. On average Jewish Americans vote at a higher rate than. By about fifteen percents we also where we live correlates with wear our votes tend to matter even more we tend to live in swing states and a third reason which I'm sure we'll get into is that we overwhelmingly support Democrats in our view as Jewish Democrat organization that is especially or in terms of the outsize impact we have. So Haley Bernie Sanders in his speech on Monday addressed the many Democrats who really wanted him to be the nominee and many of them were Jewish are Jewish many of them have us on Israel, that don't jibe with the very pro Israel aspects of the party, platform. It really sounded like Bernie was calling on Democrats to unify despite their differences and I'm curious how the Party and its leadership have prevented Israel from becoming a wedge issue. Joe Biden has done an exceptional job in unifying the party around these critically important issues, including Israel and the platform that's been adopted at this convention exemplifies what is overwhelming democratic support for the US Israel relationship. Ebeidi s support a full funding for military. And Support of the STOORIKHEL alliance, it's the view of the majority of members of Congress that is the democratic mainstream media. So you emphasize what a majority of Democrats you certainly we've had concerns over the years about Ilan Omar had to leave. Is that kind of who you're thinking about when you say a majority of Democrats feel this way I should have said an over overwhelming majority you mentioned. Two. Members, of Congress, we currently between the House and the Senate head of over two hundred and seventy. So between those two members of Congress who we agree do not share our views on Israel and we've spoken out against them going back to before they were even elected. But between the two of them to over two seventy, we're talking about less than one percent of the Democratic members of Congress. They are very outspoken though they have expressed views with which we disagree and we've made that clear and that's why we're not supporting their re election and we don't share their views but luckily, their views are not shared by our party either look at the platform I mean the platform is the views of our candidate and the views of our Party and the platform could not be more clear in. Its support of Israel, what I the states to watch in this upcoming election and in which of those states could the Jewish vote really make a difference. When we look in elections, we always look at the last election as a baseline and we know that had Donald Trump not one Florida and either Michigan or Pennsylvania. He would not be president today and in those three states Florida Michigan and Pennsylvania. The Jewish vote alone could made up those margins. So when we looked to twenty twenty in this election, we are looking at the Jewish vote in those critically important states, my home state of Michigan Donald. Trump won by just ten, thousand, seven, hundred, and four votes. That margin could be overcome by the Jewish student population of Michigan in Michigan state a low. We are looking at the Jewish vote in those three critically important states but also states like Arizona and Colorado and Georgia, which in addition to being presidential swing states are going to be critically important in terms of the control of the Senate. Are you saying that the Jews in those swing states voted Republican or didn't vote at all did shoes in those swing states voted we know that Jewish voters do turn out and in twenty sixteen, it was no different than in previous elections choose turned out. But. We also know bat they turned out in support of Hillary. Clinton at about seventy two percents. If you look at the two thousand eighteen midterms Jewish voters supported Democrats at seventy nine percents. So we saw an increase, we believe that in twenty twenty, those numbers can continue to go up in terms of Jewish support for Democrats. So now we'll talk with your Republican counterpart on next week's episode. But from your vantage point, you said that most Jews identify with the Democratic Party why is that? So, choose have historically for decades defied overwhelmingly with the Democrats, the values that Jews hold dear tend to be those aligned with the policies supported by Democrats. So when it comes to domestic policies such as access to affordable healthcare and education ED and gun safety and ensuring that we are country welcoming the stranger and not enacting cruel and discriminatory policies toward immigrants and refugees. These are all key issues driving the Jewish vote. On those issues and more, that's where Jewish voters align with Democrats when it comes to foreign policy is well, we know that support of Israel is an issue that is important of course to Jewish voters and Mrs. Issue Where Democrats to our squarely aligned with the priority of Jewish voters, which is the support of the strong US Israel relationship, and in this election, we have a new issue. So all of those things have been constance. New issue in this election that is impacting the Jewish, vote in Support of Democrats and that is our rising insecurity as a community. We have seen an unprecedented rise in anti-semitic attacks targeting our community including the horrific attacks in Pittsburgh and Powei we know that seventy three percent of Jews feel less secure than they did years ago and over half of US blame. Donald Trump for that and that's because we've seen him embolden anti-semites white nationalist just last night he tweeted out support for an extremist group Hugh a non that has peddled conspiracy theories still on these issues especially when it comes to the security of our community. There's a clear choice in this election and Jewish especially do not believe that Donald Trump has the best interest of our community in mind he has Jewish family members. He's certainly been friendly to Israel is strengthened that relationship. So how does that square? There's no question. He has Jewish family members. He's also married and he's done said many misogynistic things. So that alone does not qualify him as what I would consider to be someone who's been particularly good for the Jewish community I look at the numbers and I look at the unprecedented rise in white nationalist propaganda or anti Semitic attack and the words that. Come out of his mouth better clear signs to anti-semites to racist to bigots that he is their ally whether it is identifying anti-semites white nationalist marching Charlottesville as very fine people or calling the extremists that marched in Michigan with swastikas very good people that was earlier this year or hiring someone recently, Sebastian Gorka who is affiliated with the Nazi party in Hungary? When it comes to Israel. Donald Trump. Has Been Long on symbolism and short on substance. Yes. He moved the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and we recognize that Jerusalem is, of course, the capital of Israel. But the substance matters and when you look at the record of Joe Biden who with President Obama finalized unprecedented historic thirty eight. DOLLAR AGREEMENT WITH ISRAEL PROVIDING FOR AID for the next ten years, and you look at the security issues that Israel faces. Actually Donald. Trump has not been that great for Israel.
Kamala Harris: Making History
"On August eleven twenty, twenty history was made for the first time. Ever a black woman is on the Democratic Party ticket as vice president and that woman is Senator Kamala Harris earlier in the summer, we looked at what Applied Harris campaign look like from the time that she entered the twenty twenty democratic field last year as the lone black. He was a standout on the day show up the nomination. We'll give our reactions to this story moment and some friends of the show will share their thoughts monumental happening. Don't go anywhere this guy. And January Twenty Nineteen Senator Comma Harris announced her bid for the presidency. These are not ordinary times. And this will not be an ordinary election. But this is our America. Here's spit. On the campaign trail the after struggles fundraising strife insider campaign she decided to drop out of the race in December twenty, nine, hundred and March twenty twenty presumptive Democratic nominee Joe, Biden announced that he would select. As his running mate number of women who are qualified president tomorrow, I would take a woman to be my vice president with four years the US Senate her experience as Attorney General in California and from national campaigning under her belt Harris quickly emerged as the overwhelming front runner, and then the thing we thought what happened finally happened Comma Harris became the first black woman to run for vice president on a major party ticket. is so brady if felt like Biden was dangling this announcement over our heads for months, what was your first reaction to hearing the news? I was not surprised by the collection at all I have complicated feelings about senator hairs she is experienced. She's intelligent. She's Dorte has that. explicable presidential quality that I know is mired in racism classism and sexism but still. She gives up that by earlier this year vitamins like it'll likely be a woman of Color I. think this past summer made it pretty clear that it probably needed to be a black woman to be. They were not about to break out no type of brand new black woman and that people were already familiar with at this current point in time. But curious, how did you feel like? Haven't you? What was your reaction when you first heard the news? Was Really. Happy. I. Wasn't happy just because I. It was commonly hairs I too have very complicated feelings about comma hairs, but I was more. So happy then the movement that I think that black women have been leading for probably decades is finally starting to pay off in terms of power black women have consistently did the backbone of the Democratic Party, the backbone of progressive politics in this country and it hasn't translated to to to power. So to have comma hairs kind of break the ceiling as vp I think that's monumental. We're have to do work of holding Kamla accountable as we have. I, think you know that has already been kind of starting to pay off. Cares about you as a black woman. How do you feel in this moment right now I really don't care about symbolism I care about policy would be oppressed and so like this moment is willing to pass and so I am wary of getting too caught up in thinking of. As being some sort of signal assemble or a savior for us. I just really invested in seen what she has to say with their platform actually looks like at also you know there are still a bunch of possible trump voters who are interested invited that WHO's attention they need to capture I, WanNa see what she has to say and I really WanNa, know and listen to. What she plans to do because for me grass where the real work is done, I think the thing that. Day as candidates, and the honestly everyone needs to be squarely focused on is voter suppression. The Republicans are paths to everything that they possibly can make it more difficult for people to cast their vote. Look this election seems like about to be able whole mess got to be caller is classes a massage in war. Outright lies people talking about is she actually blacks people talk my issue actually Indian this? But these are just our. So we decided to reach out friends of the show just to get an idea of what fair thinking about this moment. Here's a look. When I heard that Joe Biden had chosen Comma Harris as his running mate. I was elated. Let's be honest. This is a complicated election. This is a complicated ticket at the long short of it is I was elated to see a black woman by his

Biden picks Kamala Harris as running mate
"It's been a long wait. Finally today, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden decided on his running mate. Hey, CBS's Doug Sovereign reports he's chosen California Senator Comma Harris. She will be the first California Democrat ever on a national ticket. She obviously will be the first African American or woman of any color to be a vice presidential nominee and All along. She's been seen as the front runner. In this process. I wondered why a times there were others who came and went. But in the end, Joe Biden is picking Kamala Harris has informed her that she will be His choice to be the nominee for vice president on the Biden Harris ticket for the Democrats, someone says they're both pros and cons to having her on the ticket. I think she's a mixed bag personally. Obviously, she's a woman that he said he would pick a woman. She is both black and Indian or her mom was from India. Her dad was from Jamaica. That will obviously play well with voters of color, especially African American voters. She's an effective campaigner and debaters we've seen. She could be quite aggressive on the stump, and we'll certainly take it to Mike Pence in a debate and as a prosecutor, both in San Francisco and at the state level is used to sort of making a case for the people, and she's able to do

Making it work will center. You heard US talking a bit about hot topics and something been really disconcerting for me is that it seems to have taken seventy days for president trump to even admit that there was a significant problem of with the corona virus pandemic and at trump's briefing. Yesterday he said he hadn't even seen the memo from Peter Navarro warning of what could happen if the virus spread from China to the United States. But he also said he didn't look forward either and now we're learning that he had some information in his presidential daily briefing. American lives have been lost. Does he not bear some of the responsibility for that? The buck stops with him. You know. Here's the thing this is. This is a moment of international crisis and this is leaders must lead. The president of the United States was also the commander in chief in a moment of national crisis. Which is that we have a public health. Pandemic that has led to an economic crisis as well. The President United States. The commander in chief must use the voice of that office in a way that is about speaking truth embracing fact speaking about facts. No matter how uncomfortable it may make people to hear it is about embracing science and listening to the public health professionals. All with the intention of lifting up the American people both in terms of dealing with the solutions to this problem which means acknowledging it is a real serious issue and not a hoax which means saying one of the tools in the tool belt of the president in a crisis is to is to use the defense production. But what we have in this president is someone who has been concerned about himself fulltime since he's been in office and including during this pandemic and so we have heard frankly and I I just have to be candid. We're in the middle of a pandemic. We have heard lies way if we have heard him tried to shift blame In most recently even the conversation that the group had this morning We have seen that he has tried to minimize and distract from the issue at hand in a moment of crisis leaders must lead which means fully embrace the seriousness of it with the intention of lifting. Not only the circumstance of the American people but the the spirit of the American people. And we've seen none of that from this president and Senator Harris this again I I know you are more than aware. There's a lot of really intense anger floating in the country unlike anything. I think I've ever seen in my lifetime back. In February. The surgeon general was tweeting. The risk of the virus was low and more people will get the flu now. He's going on TV and saying it's our nine eleven we've heard of us. Senators both on both sides of the Aisle Democrats and Republicans allegedly selling their stocks after being privately briefed on the corona virus and personally profiting when they should have been worried about their constituents and in my opinion warning the American public of the imminent dangers of this virus have lost a lot of confidence in government officials. Have you lost the same kind of confidence that I have in the past two months? I mean I listen. I will tell you. First of all on the issue of of the stocks I'm on a bill with Elizabeth Warren and others. I believe that members of Congress should be prohibited from owning stocks while they're in office but let's talk about what where we've seen a vacuum of leadership such as it with the administration and you pointed out examples but where we had been seen others. Pickup leadership is our mayors in our governors. What extraordinary work they've been doing. I mean they're broad shoulders have been bearing the brunt and and actually providing national leadership on how we address it mayor. London breed of San Francisco the first mayor in the country to shut it down. She took such political heat for doing that when she did. But in hindsight and speaking about just the the the the the rapid pace of this hindsight now is about three weeks when she did it. Now in hindsight we realized it was the right thing to do The governor of California Gavin. Newsom the first governor in the country to shut it down and now we're seeing the California have the ability to to ship ventilators to other places because right now thank God. They don't need them with the same sense of urgency others do so we have seen great examples of leadership and and that leadership has been born out of a few things making Courage a an appreciation for the fact they hold these offices in the public trust. So it's not about them. It's about the people they represent and their ability to act knowing the tools that they have available and doing it in the best interest of the people they serve. This is a moment where people have to rely on their government to work and at a local and state level many have been able to have confidence there but at a national level and in particular a Fr- from the administration we've seen a vacuum of leadership and we're paying a price for it and as to your point people are dying so senator here this is Sarah Senate Majority Leader Mitch. Mcconnell blamed the impeachment hearings for trump's lack of focus in the early onset of the corona virus outbreak here in America. How do you respond to that? I think it's just another example of shifting blame The president of the United States should have the ability to multitask and And when we are talking about a public health crisis The president of the United States should be able to immediately Turn on the mechanisms. That should be available. Were he actually paying attention to his various responsibilities from the day he took office but instead we have in Donald Trump and his administration an administration that shut down a division of the Federal Government. That had the responsibility for concerning itself with pandemics. We've had a president of the United States. Who has his attorney? General having lawyers in courts right now in America trying to get rid of the affordable care act which brought healthcare to thirty million people and said there will be a ban on refusing help and medical care to people with preexisting conditions. The Guy doesn't understand his John to that. Ho Ho hold onto that because when we.

We've seen candidates talking more about the crisis and the solutions than we have, I think, in entire presidential campaigns in history. Diana tell has been waiting a long time for this. She's president and CEO of the national low income housing coalition. She says in past elections. Housing advocates would listen to the candidates, and weight than just sort of hang on for any word even remotely related to housing like, oh, he said community, or he said house, but nothing about actual housing policy or solutions, now, the topic comes up again. And again Intel, thanks reflection of the severity of the housing. Shortage rents across the country are going up, much faster than wages so much. So that eleven million families now pay more than half of their incomes in rent low income families. Feel at the most, but the problem has started to creep up into the middle class, her voters who are in the rental housing market. The cost of housing is, as big an economic stressor as virtually any thing else. Democratic pollster Geoff Garin says it's a concern for voters in every area of the country, cities, small towns and suburbs. When he asked voters in two thousand sixteen thirty nine percents at housing affordability was a fairly or very serious problem this year, that number has jumped to sixty percent quite a change over the course of one election cycle, perhaps of more interest candidates three out of four voters say they're more likely to support someone who has an affordable housing plan. Civil Democrats are current or former mayor's which has made them, especially sensitive to the issue Hooghly on Castro, who was secretary of housing and urban development under President Obama made it a key part of his campaign announcement. Too many families are spending more than half of their income on red, and that means that more families are doubling up sleeping on the couches of relatives or even sleeping on the streets yesterday Castro announce some details, he would give housing vouchers to everyone who needs them and spent tens of billions of dollars on new affordable housing, the challenge for Democrats is finding a way to pay for these plans. The Trump administration has called for steep cuts in housing aid, and would increase affordable housing by providing tax incentives for construction in economically, distressed areas. The other challenge for Democrats is getting low income renters out to vote. They tend not to turn out as much as wealthier homeowners. It's a concern for cherise genus, if Boston who was at a candidate forum in Washington DC yesterday for something called the poor people's pain. I even put my kids by their ears had voting and they tell me my, my vote, don't count. That's a lie. And for her personal. Right now, her kids have their own places to live this way in my might have become back home, because the rent is so high, which is what Democrats are counting on that. This is an issue. Most Americans can relate to Pam fester. NPR news. Washington. Are, you know that mushy feeling you get when a dog looks at you with a sad or confused face? What does that happen? Well, according to Ambrose the lead anatomist on a study about the phenomenon that was just published in the journal proceedings of the national academies of sciences. The sad expression on our canine besties is. Result of tens of thousands of years of evolution and something called a leader muscle. It seems like the ancestors of domestic dogs or quickly domesticated by humans, and as part of that process, human, or selecting for this, I'm movement, which is produced by this leave muscle, essentially, those tender looks are mirrors of our own facial expressions, specifically to help dogs better communicate with humans and get what they want. Things like food and a warm place to live. It's also almost entirely absent from wolves the ancestors of dogs Burroughs says she and her colleagues don't have concrete proof just yet. But earlier studies they've done suggests that this relatively small inner eyebrow movement in pooches, that makes their is look larger and more baby like if oaks, a protective instinct. Inked and people just anecdotally when my dog does that I think, oh, my gosh. She worried she sat she needs me for something. And so we pay attention to them. So I it seems to trigger some kind of caregiving response in most human, and that desire to peer into one another's eyes is apparently mutually beneficial. Researchers found that dogs like humans experience a surge in oxytocin levels what's called the love hormone as for. What's next Burroughs says? Well, future studies may seem like their dog focused, they're really about understanding ourselves because we're this weird BBC's that decided to bring other species to live with our in our house. "Larry O'Connor show. AM six thirty. All right. I want you to listen to this exchange from yesterday. It was Senator comma Harris and Naomi row Naomi row is a nominee by the Trump administration for the DC circuit court. So she must be stopped at all costs. I want you to listen to this exchange from the perspective of a parent. All right. And and I want you to listen to how it goes back and forth. And then we're going to have a conversation. I eight eight six zero nine six two five the crux of it is if you as a parent warn, your your children's specifically your daughters to not drink to excess in social settings or some settings where they could find themselves. Face with strangers faced with boys that they don't know where they don't trust that would be a bad thing because they could find themselves God forbid, the victim of a sexual assault. Is that victim shaming? If you say that your daughter or is that actually being a good parent. Listen to this exchange now is said when having a conversation with Senator Ernst you said, quote, women's should take certain steps to avoid becoming a victim. What steps do you have in mind that women should take to avoid becoming a victim of sexual assault. Senator it's it's just sort of the common sense idea about for instance, excessive drinking, you know, that was advice that was given to me by my mother it. So that's one step. You believe women should take to avoid becoming a victim of it is it is just a way to make it less likely. It's not to blame the victim. Rape, and sexual assault are horrible crimes. But we're talking about. What can you do to keep yourself safe? Are there other steps that you believe women should take to avoid becoming a victim of sexual fat is one of the one of the issues that I discussed I'm not I'm not sure if there are there others. So do you believe if a woman does not take those steps that she is at fault or partially at fault for what happens to her now? So what is the significance of taking the steps? Well, I think it's just the significance of of trying to avoid becoming a victim of any crime. Right. We take we take different steps to try to protect ourselves from from horrible crimes such as rape. And. You know? And I think what we want is for women to not be victims. So there you go. Is is is is that in some way victim shaming is that blaming a woman if she does God forbid, the fall to become a victim of sexual assault that you're that you're blaming them. If they were doing this. But by preemptively warning and suggesting that one way you can keep yourself out of danger is if you don't drink to excess especially for our teenage daughters were young young women in in settings like this. I'm a parent. I've got two teenage girls I've had this conversation with them. And oh, by the way, I was a teenage boy. And I gave this advice. I think that's being a good parent Kamala Harris by the line of questioning and the tone in her voice. You heard exactly what she was thinking. And she later then tweeted and said that she found this line of questioning to be. She sound the Naomi rows responses to be so troubling. And unacceptable. All right. Well, you tell me as a parent, and I am I missing something here because I think you're irresponsible is apparent if you don't have a conversation like this with your daughters rolling and Middletown your first up at triple eight six thirty WMA L. Hey, ryan. Hey, larry. How are you? I'm good. What do you think of this? Well, I think hurt her a bike. I mean, come loose statements are just so wrong headed, I mean, using her logic. Then you should not encourage women to take self-defense classes to protect themselves in any way, shape or form. And the other thing it does is I think really makes a woman feel incredibly vulnerable because if the notion that there's nothing that I could ever do to ever protect myself, then this whole than than I for my standpoint of our woman, I'd be like incredibly petrified, and what about women's empowerment, isn't that the whole notion? The other piece that I would say is that this same advice is advice should be given to boys. I gave it to my son's before they went to college about drinking because here's the thing. A guy's going to be held a hundred percent responsible for his behavior. Even though he struck you gotta dumber than two bags the hammer to get drunk in any place or any time. There's an opportunity for sexual contact with limit. Yeah. Well, you know role, and that's that's the you're, you know, that's a very good perspective. And I didn't think about it. In terms of young men are sons, you're absolutely right. This is these are treacherous times. Yeah. It's it's it's incredible double standard because they know it is that a woman is not responsible able to say, yes. Because of her alcohol use and therefore rape if there's contact. Yeah. Perspective. But in the same way, if a guy is held one hundred percent responsible. You got a double standard there and given every living in that double standard. It's incredibly dumb for Virginia guide ever get dropped rolling. It's a great point. And and let me just reiterate here. Listen, if if if a young man or any age man is is the perpetrator of a sex crime against a woman in his excuses. Well, gosh, I was drunk. I don't care. All right. That's and and by the way, if a woman is God forbid, a victim of one of these things, and she says I was drunk. I don't care either. In that respect. She is still a victim. Right. This isn't taking away the fact that this is a horrendous crime and being drunk or whatever is no excuse. This is just about as as MS rouse said common sense that if you can't take steps to prevent a horrible situation like this. Well, you should be mindful of those steps you could take and perhaps even follow those steps. That's all that doesn't mean. It doesn't take the the perpetrator off the hook. If in fact, this horrible thing happens, Theresa that's my perspective is apparent on this. I still think we should have those conversations we shouldn't be afraid to do this because oh gosh. Maybe I'm victim shaming my daughter. God. No. Thank you rolling Theresa. And only your next step on WMA. Oh. Good advice. Democrats always find a way to minimize it and twisted. And basically they want their victims and victims and the winning can you. L have their abortion. Downtown. My daughter just went next Nexico cow. And you know, we're always telling her she's a grown woman now and gino's always told her. And if you're a good parent, you're telling your kids to to to do that. Yeah. Theresa that's such a great point. You know, my my nineteen year old is going to UCLA and she said, yeah. Spring break, we might go down to Tijuana, you know, because in Mexico at nineteen she can drink, and I said all right you, and I are having a conversation right now. Yeah. Sean dot com rotation again with her last night before she packed up and left. Like, not play your your drink down anywhere in your body system.
