"A strong second quarter gave the nuggets separation and they had their way with the thunder one nineteen to one oh one Denver coach Mike Malone when we defend we went like I told the players after the game I know I sound like a broken record but it's so true and after that first quarter where we didn't defend thirty one points they shot over fifty from the field after that our defense was terrific as is often the case senator Coley okay it's led the way with twenty seven points and twelve rebounds Denver closed out the first half of the fourteen to three run good for a sixty five fifty two advantage in the second half the lead grew to as much as twenty eight as the nuggets even their record at seven seven Leganes Dortch led OKC with twenty points Bruce Morton Denver

"Mobile arena in Las Vegas so as a result I I get to have Joe on the air with me tomorrow pretty cool I've I've talked to him once or twice before he's a he's an interesting guy and obviously they've been through hell and back Def Leppard has but they have a gazillion hits and you think about you know Rick their their drummer losing his arm in a I don't have you know that but it was in an accident he was racing is corvette and he ended up losing his his left arm and but boy you know what kudos to them for continuing on with him because obviously they could have said man we got to get a different drummer but you know they reconfigure drums were he can play with his feet and all of that and they you know have some of their biggest hits to date after that post Rick's you know Rick Allen's a crash so good for them but yeah Joe Elliott singer for Def Leppard will join me tomorrow on the show pretty cool. I'm also you heard at the top of the hour we'll get to this stand by for this cold suspending production of the A. R. fifteen for the civilian market I couldn't be more disappointed with this headline when I saw this I I was very very disappointed they claim it's because the mark down to da blah blah blah they're gonna concentrate of a filling military law enforcement contracts blah blah blah they are folding like a cheap suit they're doing it it's it's so irritating to me yeah I I. right there there are plenty of other manufacturers of A. R. fifteen and that's fine it's it's it's cold I mean I've owned almost every weapon they've made over time I had a forty four anaconda I've had you know there there are three fifty seven I I've owned a you know a lot of different weapons that they manufactured they make a they make fantastic weapons and I'm very very very disappointed there's a huge they they better be. they know that they're. done in the civilian consumer market because without those law enforcement and military contracts I know a lot of people now that are never going to buy another call weapon as long as they live I mean especially with this yeah and here's the thing you know what's scary about this how many taught help how many things how many businesses how many manufacturers how many fill in the blank do you add to the list of people that you're boycotting I mean you got people are gone all right Walmart stop boom no more Walmart all right blood the blood stopped no more Dicks no more I mean it's like you and then now you go okay not buying anymore cold weapons I mean I mean you're right though I mean that's the way that you hit them in the wallet not so clearly they knew you know it's not like they went you know all **** nilly all you know we should do we should they've done some serious you know research and and they're you know they're going out of the civilian market I for whatever reason I feel like they're probably like yeah whatever it's not gonna hurt us I mean it. reading their statements. you would think that they have like twelve million excess a ours in circulation so that they feel it so saturated they're not even going to bother I think that's them trying to see why a amongst certain people try the all worlds not that bad they're not caving into pressure there just over they've over saturated the market baloney you you and I both know what this the out the cold C. E. O. was like you know it's not it's not permanently ending production and they said they believe there's already an adequate supply in the market so basically all this hysteria once it blows over will quietly star may come again come on yeah well you know it might be too late by then it might just be too late it just I it depends on how much you know how staunch of a of a stance that you want to take for this and for me I'm just well I'm just I'm I'm not gonna say well never but but I'm very very disappointed that's a you know such a manufacturer that's that big is folding under this that's what's going on right now in the know good and well that it's and we've talked this over and over it's not what we were I was telling you yesterday that senator Coley even said you know it's the you got a it's not the whether it's the person you know and he's the person yeah so. I just yeah burns me. that just came down actually obviously while we were in the break or whatever all right so Ohio though this I'm all for their state senator to reset gap around I believe that's a set and she introduced the school bus safety act and it's you know obviously aimed at people who violate laws designed to protect students I mean let's face it this is this is a bad thing I know a lot of the school bus drivers and it happens on a daily basis where they'll have the stop sign out in the Reds going flashing and people blow right through one now between twenty fifteen and twenty seventeen there were four thousand accidents involving a school bus in forty two hundred driver's side forty two hundred drivers were cited for failing to stop for a school bus that was loading or unloading and some of the training videos that you see for this where they'll be a there was one I remember that there was it was the video that you saw was from inside the bus the footage but you could see the door where you enter the bus and behind the kids that were coming on a car went flying by now if your goal wait a minute on that side of the but yeah over in the you know the lawn on the sidewalk cargoes flying by it's by the grace of god that you know the kid in the video wasn't is mode over so anyway under this bill what they're doing the fine is improperly passing the school bus right now it's currently five hundred dollars that's what they get you five hundred Bucks they're going to double this to one thousand. can you think you tell me one person who would say aw yeah I don't I don't agree with this they shouldn't you know it the repeat offenders they are going to add two hundred and fifty dollars each time and include a rise in the level of the driver's license suspension for each violation and boy goes up from there but when you talk to the she was cited as saying you know talking to law enforcement and bus drivers in hearing that sometimes on a daily basis sometimes more than once a day people are disregarding this and they're just blowing on but it it's getting worse because of the distracted driving people are texting they're on the phone they're trying to eat there doing whatever and they you know they're coming up and and that's part of the morning and obviously it's seasonal specially if you know the it's not obviously year round and it's just during school and people will will do this whether or not they meant to do or not because I don't think anybody just on purpose is like you know well there are most would say are not stopping you know I don't feel like dom dom in a hurry. no because they're risking a lot of Senate bill one thirty four and so they're also trying to they're trying to get schools to the state to apply for school bus cameras in this would be on the exterior because currently I don't believe most of the school buses have the exterior cameras.

"Com slash delivery arm. mark laser show. all. mark blazer over there. alright so we will. you're hearing about the federal reserve cutting interest rates by a quarter percent. the financial analyst Greg McBride Bankrate dot com will join me at three forty two. so will drill down on this and see what's going on I'll be interested to hear what he has to say about what our president is actually saying and how the feds are failing again no guts no sense no vision is what trump is actually saying about this and he's obviously just say and they needed to go deeper than a quarter percent right now yeah I'd like us about you know it's a total of one half now at this point I mean so far this year two twenty for orders yeah to have a quarter point so I'll be interested to hear Greg's take on this and I don't know what what does he want to do go to. I mean I don't I'm not sure what it actually stands out right now and don't get me wrong I think there are a lot of people go on ash don't say anything let them go lower you know what I mean because some people are saying it's going to you know it's it's all about triggering a recession and all of this stuff on to see if there's any validity to any of that if what Greg things because I don't I don't feel like it is and clearly you know the president kinda knows a little bit about some of that with regard to this kind of stuff more than just being the president I mean based on building his empire I think he's he's pretty in tune with this kind of he's got a good got with regard to what it what he does and I think where his source of frustration on this is coming from is that. by only doing a quarter of a point here in a quarter point there which by the way. three of the fed presidents like regional fed presidents voted to ten not even cut it by a quarter right they said no right so what that does is it's it's the fed kind of buying into this like what we could be seeing the world No Namik slow down and what trump saying is no all will lead the way if you cut the pie if you cut the rate a little bit more spur some growth here in the US will pull the rest of the world along with variety saying the these interest look current interest levels they're they're putting the U. S. at an economic disadvantage to countries with lower rates was kind of where he will was that with that so yeah we'll we'll drill down a little bit with Greg McBride on that in just a little bit also you know next hour. you know we talked over and over yesterday about what's going on with the Buckeyes in this I think it just still at thirty nine and a half points that is what they the they're the that's what they're going to cover that's what Vegas thinks they're gonna win by right now well at least that's that's the actual line thirty nine and a half points sucker bet it question mark sucker bet is this a sucker bet in speaking of bats I mean Josh proposed a bit yesterday that we went in on and you don't think thirty nine and a half points is a sucker bet if of course you're saying it needs to be covered by halftime no I I told you that's the bad I'm gonna I'm back near a whole twelve pack a white clause that. not only will Ohio state cover that spread they will do it with a shot out. at halftime so that means I think almost it was for at least. forty points by halftime and it will be Miami nothing now what's going to happen eventually as Miami will probably end up with a cheap touch down in the garbage time when the Ohio state's third strings in right but that so that's going to cut into possibly that's why I do not want to read read twenty one to go cover the spread and a complete shut out at the end of the game I I want to get myself on out okay give myself I have time out and the fact that you're doing two different beds that they have to kind of facilitate gives me a little bit more of an edge since I'm thinking it's not going to happen you're thinking it is in a twelve pack a white this is serious this is very serious twelve pack a white cloth on the on the back of the club. you've got to get the called my friend yeah so it's yeah yeah but currently it is right now as I look at the Westgate Superbook. the card it opened at there they've got it right now currently at thirty nine thirty nine now okay so it's backed off even the other half yeah they open the west gate opened at forty and now they're down to thirty nine so to draw the William Hill sports book which is a a huge one out there it opened at fourteen down to thirty nine so there you go I got to get forty points by halftime my name is gonna be shut out and I'll be drinking a twelve pack of claws on you my friends hopefully not all one because you won't even be able to well you will be conscious if you drink that many of my one thing is that a challenge. hello I am I am not going on record as saying I'm challenging you to do that I we don't need that so anyway Dave mat sold part of our best Buckeye coverage you'll join us next hour will kind of drill down a little bit more on that how about the C. B. J. their undefeated right now. pre season opening win last night that was not on TV right I I couldn't find it I I went on and I went all over I probably spent seriously twenty minutes trying to find it on direct I had to run an errand around nine thirty last night and I did that happen he heard on the radio I was like what what remains we have pre season right right so obviously yeah we'll get more from that's on that too because I'm sure I have some takes on the I don't know where that actually I don't know where that would go but well I mean you can't learn anything in one game from right at this point one could using game right now promise you can't write okay so yeah we'll we'll figure out that it a little bit as well all also. these porn a health hazard that is another question there's an Ohio lawmaker that wants to label up porn a health hazard so that's a little later in the show what like you get tennis elbow or. what. what I thought your question I don't know injury carpal tunnel I guess that could be a health hazard I I don't think that's the type of health they were talking about okay with that died down deeper. but but yeah okay so that's coming up a little while it as well how about this for a headlight I just have to throw this out there the Amish buggy with stereo system and beer gets pulled over by a deputy I just have the jaw I'll just stop right there and we'll continue on that I know we both have some thoughts on that. alright so let's get into this the state senator Peggy liner she is urging gun violence laws to the tune of it should have actually five bills designed to reduce it says here the risk of mass shootings another gun deaths otherwise known as erode our second amendment rights is kind of the way that I think I can I kind of look at this and kind of decide for it there are there are all kinds of different. there's all kinds of different ways I suppose you could look at the proposals that they are part of it is requiring universal background checks on gun sales and would enact a red flag law which you've been hearing a lot about. and this is a a here the senator bill Coley who will ease the committee chairman for this and I actually been seeing video of him talking about he pushed back against this this support testimony from all of the bill's sponsors and and particularly it says here on the red flag bill it's it's fault the Williams lanner bill Lehner bill would actually what this would allow is the court orders to seize guns without notice from a person suspected of possible violence without any notice you just boom done and this is where senator Kohl is gonna look this is a violation of constitutional due process that as well as the second man I mean it just tramples all located does it it did not crushes the second amendment and you basically if there's no da I mean it's almost. your lack of due process you mean right don't you have to have if your cues to something ever right to face your accuser so all the sudden it just boom without notice gone taken away this is what everyone's been jumping up and down about about the the snowball effect to these red red flag loss well she started this state senator Peggy laners she actually she started this by you know reading the names and ages of all of the dead from the Dayton shooting so it gets really aftermath okay see a plus seat you do you go to the your plate pull on the emotions right to remove all fought in logic out of it right so exactly that's a that's a really good way to put that she goes on it when you know someone it's harder to turn your back so she's basically saying she's been on the sidelines and I suppose somehow she's now connected to this in one fashion or another and she's like I can't be on the sidelines of gun safety I I can no longer just be on the sidelines of gun say she's like I've been there too long doing absolutely nothing here's the thing that I want to go back then to what senator Coley was second he goes you know that we were saying that if the court orders to seize guns without notice from person suspected a possible violence he's gonna look this is a violation of constitutional due process as well as the second member he's also saying that a dangerous person currently currently can be involuntary confined to a temporary mental health treatment under Ohio's it's called pink slip law that's current that's already on the books already on the books and it sounds like it's not obviously being enforced enough and I'm not sure if there's a couple of different areas of the pink slip wall that maybe need tweaks or just maybe tightened up a little bit in order to make that a more feasible because it feels to me like if that's there why have people not actually been enforcing it why is it so hard to enforce that and make it stick and he goes on to say look the issue here is. not the weapon it's the person and this is senator Kohl he's been on the show several times is a friend of the show is a hundred percent right I mean he's lucky you know he goes on with this they are a. you know there's a lot also talk now that because they you know what that with the governor who is introduced the seventeen point plan that he does there's a bunch of proposals there and they are trying to get all of this working like it the their unveiling the legislation they're waiting on this that embodies his gun safety proposals this is governor to whine and they're saying L. heart of the cell this is going to be obviously with the Republican real General Assembly and I agree with that it's going to have to be is it I guess the biggest question can you is this realistic with regard to this because you know they quoted the governor say look it has to be constitutional make a significant difference in the lives of all high winds and save lives and be able to pass the General Assembly is this realistic I mean can they actually do all of those things and somehow tweak something and make everyone happy it sounds like you're never going to make everyone happy but. alright you you can't. one song any you know how this works with government right. once you give them an open door to take an inch they're going to ask for a mile it's not going to stop that you once you give away a little bit of your right you never get it back so I would err on the side of not giving away if you want to do this if you're if you're in the legislature if you're if you're truly a second amendment supporters don't open this box because once it's open we can't shut it and it's it is an open door eventually down the road to a complete erosion it's a trickle erosion you're right I but I believe any other part of this is let's say this you know the full blown red for red flag gets on the the books that'll be yet another law.

"News partner ABC six they've got a video on their website where it's. Senator coli explaining this. It's about twenty eight minutes long. I would suggest going there to watch to get, you know, drill down a little bit more and see what he's got in mind, and he'll also be joining blazer tomorrow on his show. So make sure you check that out. I just don't think it's a good idea. I think Senator cooling means well. I just think anytime. Were fronting up money early in an advanced to the government. I just doesn't sound like a good idea. Maybe you're wired differently. To get a gas tax a gas prepaid card you go in you swipe it all the pumps. Statewide are going to have to be. Configured to read this and I find that daunting right there. And of course, you swipe and what happens if you're discount doesn't take hold, and it just seems like so much to go through. I think it's a well meaning proposal, but again to point out to what I mentioned, you know, in the first half hour, and this isn't Meyer original thought, it just echoes something that Rush Limbaugh says from time to time on the air just as far as your money and the government is concerned. If on your paycheck when you got paid if you got your gross pay every single time on payday, and then you had to turn around and cut a check every week or month or quarter. You know, I wouldn't even say quarterly I would say pay period and see how much you're already giving to the government. That is a sobering reality. And then to expect people to go ahead and prepay for gas. And you dangle that carrot well, some people could come out ahead. Yeah. That that's what they tell you in Las Vegas to. And that's why Las Vegas is full of its teaming with brand new gleaming, hotels and stuff. You could come out ahead, but you're not going to. And if everybody's gonna come out ahead then. We're not going to have enough money, and they're gonna come back and ask for more in like, I said, if if they don't think they've already poke the hornet's nest about this now what happens in three or four years, whatever I would think it would take probably that long to even get this implemented. And of course, the funding you're gonna have to take money off the top to fund this. And then they come back. Go ahead. We still don't have enough money. We gotta hit you up for more than how hot and bothered are people going to be Greg. Thanks for calling the six pack six ten WTVN your thoughts, man. Dave and doing a great job. No. I heard a little bit about this guy explained. How this was his idea. What it would do? They said there. Well, some people drive electric cars and some people drive gas because we're gonna try to balance it out there. That's wrong. It's a gas tax. If you buy gas, you're gonna pay the tax second of all. The guy has not thought this through you're creating an entirely new bureaucracy from the tax money. You're supposed to be taking from the gasoline for the stink and roads. You don't wanna outfit every pump for the reader. You. Don't want to give one of your cronies. The contract to do all that the cards PM vs. To how could they possibly screw this up? Well, they could they could offer they could offer to laminate. Your card and then not laminated and end up with an extra three million in. Because they. The lead balloon, and I hope somebody sends Mr. Kohli podcast of your show and razor show blazer show because there's been a lot of good ideas. And the dude that said, the prevailing wages gotta go. Amen, brother. All right, Greg. Thank you very much for listening and for calling this evening. Let's move off to Jamie. Thanks for calling tonight. We're talking about the gas tax prepay option. What do you think? Well, I think most of the gas stations if you go to Kroger's or trying ego. They give you a discount if years their card. I don't see why that technology couldn't be implemented. That way to get the discount, or when you I I think simply saying just because you you have a a customer service car that they can automate integrate this. I think you could be absolutely right. I don't think it's going to be that easy. Well, that's just the suggestion though. So. It would have to be done. Right. But if it's not done, right. Yeah. Then it won't work. So and then and then what happens, you know, if you leave your car at home, then you're you're gonna be stuck paying full price. You're going to be paying basically double which I don't know. I heard a sound clip. And I think it might have been Senator Coley. It may not have been. I heard somebody commenting on this saying they fully expect that people are going to forget their gas cards, and they're kind of budgeting that into the deal. It's like, well, we're gonna make a little extra money because people are gonna lose them or forget them. And I just think that's a flimsy way to to move this forward. He got any other thoughts, Jamie. No. That's it. All right. Thank you for calling in for listening. Ron thanks for calling six ten WTVN. Hit us Ron what what's on your mind tonight. I've heard a lot of the discussions this evening. Everybody seems to think that we need this additional cash. Well. Why don't we just put it out there for the voters to vote on it and see what they think? Well, okay. I I understand where you're coming from Phil. But let's just pose this. So I'll play devil's advocate. So let's say we do that. And we have a vote and by we'll say, a seventy five percents majority. Everybody says. No, we're not paying it. We don't need it manage your money better. And then whether it's three five seven years down the roads. Now the year down the road, we've got bridges collapsing. And roads that that you can't drive on now were even more in the whole because we're not gonna be able to catch up properly on maintenance. Then what then what have we got? We got a bunch of people. I doubt that anybody that voted against it is going to come out and go. Yeah, I voted against it. They'll just continue to complain about. I can't believe that our state mismanaged the money. And now, we're in this big of a whole what what do you think of that? Those are possibilities. But nonetheless this proposal for. Adding additional taxes. Great online nerves if you're gonna ask me to give you more money. How do you like what you're talking about with this one proposal up front? You're gonna ask me to give you money. How 'bout you? Let me know. Let me tell you whether or not I very that's that was one of the principles that founded the country heck sation without representation. I got I've got representatives. Yes. But this is our money. Let's vote on it. That's referendum together. Start a petition drive. So you right now, you you think that? And I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, Phil. But you would say that right now governor dewine really doesn't know what he's talking about in this regard. You don't trust him. One. That's the first thing. He does out of the chute is say I want to raise your taxes. I didn't work too. Well, for former President Bush when he said, no new taxes. Yeah. I got you had to turn around and raise up. Now. I get it. I if governor dewine came out and said, we got to raise your taxes because we need to send Planned Parenthood more money. I could I could understand and believe me, I'm not lining up to pay more taxes. But I do think this is a problem. We've got to address in one way, shape or form it's Senate kicking the can down the road again. And and I get you know, Phil, I appreciate your call. What I get frustrated with is when we try to do a show like this and say, tell me what you think tell me what your ideas are. And most of the callers can only revert back to construction workers are lazy. There's too many of them leaning on a shovel is our is our state spending money appropriately. Some of those are very valid questions and points, but it doesn't help us. It doesn't move us forward in what we've got to do. I'll guarantee you you could roll in or I could we could put together a little posse a six man posse between callers and a couple of people at the radio station. We could start showing up at anybody's place of work and walking around going. Why see all kinds of people sitting at their desk? They're not doing a damn thing. And guys looking at his March madness bracket that guy he's been standing by the coffee machine talking to anybody that'll walk. He's been there for a half hour. So. I get it. I see guy standing. Leaning against a shovel to but come on. That can't be all there is to that argument. Final segment coming up..
