Patrick Williams: No. 4 pick by Chicago Bulls in NBA draft

"The Bulls have made their second round pick, but it doesn't sound like we'll see him. In Chicago for a while. 21 year old Senator Marco Simonovic of Montenegro is the choice of 44 overall, and those have seen him loud his offensive production overseas, but Question whether he can truly succeed down low in the NBA Bulls come let him play in Europe but keep its rights. And that may well be the play tonight. Really? About the first rounder, fourth overall, the versatile Patrick Williams. He's a 19 year old forward 68. But it wasn't long ago that he was a guard and Williams expects to move up and down the line. He also can't wait to get to town. Chicago W some something special being built there. Um, with the new, you know, front office on down the guys that they have, you know, kind of bet. I mean, it is definitely something special. To rebuild their undersides. My from all of them, You know Kobe white that ravine is about town. I mean, all the guys. I've decided to learn from Bulls Prize Williams defense and outside shooting and believe his offense will grow as he does. Williams did not start a game and his one year with the Seminoles but was the A C C sixth Man of the year. Guard Anthony Edwards went number one to the Timberwolves center James Weissman, number two to the Warriors guard Lamell, a ball third to the Hornets.

Khan Academy: Sal Khan

"Most of the products and services we've talked about on the show have been innovative or disruptive in some way. But some of them and you've heard me say this before have fundamentally changed the way we live I mean lift AIRBNB starbucks. Shop Affi-. wayfair. These brands have transformed the way that many of us shop and travel and work. But every now, and then a founder comes along that seems to want to do something even more ambitious, even more transformative like remember. Pat. Brown, he founded impossible foods to create meet out of plants meet. So meet like that even the most die-hard carnivores would want to eat it. Pat Wants to put a stop to meet production period because of the damage, it's doing to the planet and essentially and I don't think I'm overstating this. He set out from day one to change the world. But still. Pat Brown stands to make a lot of money from his company same with most of the founders who've been on this show and I don't think any of them are motivated primarily to make money but it is part of the story they make a product or offer service, sell it to you and me, and they also get rich perfectly fine. But what about someone who makes a product or offers a service that is equally transformational maybe even more so but makes it one hundred percent free To do that, you have to make personal sacrifices starting by earning a lot less money. which is just part of what makes Sal Khan. So incredibly remarkable. Over the past twelve years, he's built Khan Academy into a powerhouse, a massive online learning platform that offers free tutorials to anyone anywhere. And from the very beginning South sided, his academy would be a nonprofit that it should never be tempted to compromise on its values. But before he launched Khan, Academy Sal didn't anticipate any of this. He was just trying to help a younger cousin with her sixth grade math lessons at the time he was working for a hedge fund. But from those early days of doing one on one to toils sal gradually built a platform that offers hundreds of classes in dozens of languages. Nearly thirty million people use Khan Academy. Every month to learn math science arts even sat prep all four free and Khan. Academy has inspired the launch of many other online learning platforms, but many of them are for profit operations that charge money. But we'll get to all that moment first. Let's back up just a little bit sal Khan grew up in metairie Louisiana his mom was from India and his dad was from Bangladesh and the marriage ended when sal was pretty young. My parents. Had issues and so they separated when I was probably about eighteen months old two years old and then I had really never seen my father and I saw once four an evening when I was thirteen and then he passed away the next year so it was really might. mother who raised us as as a single mother. While was there a community of South Asian families in imagery? Growing up. Yeah my you know when my parents separated. We actually live with my young at the time they were in their twenty s, and so they all were kind of like father figures and almost like older siblings to to me as well and and a lot of ways they were not your stereotypical you know. Just come to the US study. Get a job save money kind of prudent immigrant story they were. They were much more embracing of New Orleans. Culture. And I would say they're the most new ORLEAN South Asians. You will ever find it in your life. I had a very colorful childhood. You know late night parties, people, singing, and dancing. For me it felt like a I remember my third birthday that my uncles got a belly dancer. I still remember Habiba you know So it was definitely a different type of childhood, but it was a in some ways a really rich one. So what did your mom do for a living? The first job that I remember her having she she was the person who takes the change out of the vending machine at the at the local hospital actually the hospital where I was born and she took me to work a couple of times 'cause she didn't have childcare and I thought at the time I remember watching her do that. I think it was like the coolest job on earth because you have the key that you can open up the vending machine and like quarters just pour out of it. So she did that for a little bit and then essentially was a cashier at a series of convenience stores is kind of doing you know one minimum wage job after another and then I was in high school she had remarried her my Stepdad at the time were able to. Kind of cobble together to get a a small convenience store in. Your book you write. Louisiana was as close to South Asia as the United States could get. It's spicy food. Giant cockroaches in the corrupt government which is both funny but somewhat true true. I guess right I mean. You grew up at a time when. Like David Duke was the. The representative in steel her. The part of Mary where we had our store, it was called seminole convenience store on Seminole Avenue, and it's called a parliamentary called on that was kind of the heart of David Dukes base. So to speak I remember in a right outside of our our store across the street was the largest David Duke for president signing I've ever seen and so it was A. You know the the folks who lived in the neighborhood who were frankly know Super David Duke supporters in some ways it was lucky. This is pre nine eleven They didn't really know what to make of my family at at the time We've had a few conversations I remember with people the store where they they openly told us that they were trying to decide whether we were white or the N. word to you know we were confusing them but you know growing up I was the only Brown kid in in the classroom. But I never felt in school at all like folks were in any way biased or racist against me. If anything I have to give the the school system to Jefferson parish school system, a lot of credit you know I think a lot of what I am today is because they gave me opportunities there were teachers that believed in me. I had a really good friend circle So so I have no. You, know I I don't feel like it was a a tough childhood.

While the team has banned Native American themed headdresses and face painting, the Chiefs say in a statement that the Arrowhead chop is still under review. "Man Okay. So we've got all this massive gun control legislation which I'm assuming. That this is going to veto once it hits his desk, roll it into something else and he doesn't see it. I mean. Does anybody else you positive outcome here other than I'll just say it an open civil war. Mean I feel like I feel like patience like like those are the Sierra on the on the on the conference. Are being, backed into a corner. Yeah we're basically damned if we do. We're damned if we don't any anybody want to comment on that. No Matt Aspect. Mark Yeah. Well, the thing is like you hope it doesn't cover some this ridiculous. Of course. By, by thing is I would I guess probably is right now I don't know. Civil. War who against who? In other words, how would how would you distinguish I'll be okay Tepa. Got It the OH black lives matter. Got It. But. How do you distinguish? You gotta be. That's a great question. That's the real. That's a real problem is that we're facing a A faceless boogeyman to keep us all in our homes and isolated from one another. We've got blatant constitutional no violations from New York California including the first second third amendments. Fourth amendment. I mean and they're just they're not apologetic about it. They're just in your face to. Has. Closed Down Churches and locked Rock Jewish people out of their own parts. What's his name from says. Yeah. Is violating blatantly violating the first. Amendment people they can't sing in. Church. Are you kidding me. I mean, I'm not a religious separation of church and state. Well and second of all I mean, how does anybody look at that and not go holy shit let the lawsuits commence. Honestly So, now here's the thing I. WanNa Make It. I WanNa make it very clear for the audience and even those in the group I am not advocating for an open civil war where we start shooting. Okay. I would also like to say here only for myself but I believe that that I do not believe in the Black Lives Organization the Black Lives Matter Organization. I believe in the message black lives matter just as much as every other life and we should all be equal before the law we should be overseas equal treatment especially before the law. But. I'm not going to back a group that is Marxist and comes out and basically says it if you don't give us what we want, we're GONNA burn the system that the ground. I mean all here. Again, I mean if you have said organization that is in fact, baking a threat whether they considered idol. They considered valid. It is still a threat to. The life. Well, exactly how how do we not take that? How do we not take that based on the the instances of the last month? Says we says, we all watched the the horrific murder of a of a citizen by by discussing human being police officer. How do we? How do we not take that as anything other than a threat of actual violence based on recent history? Therein. Lies The question that I would poses that to go along with remarks you know who who exactly is going to do is A. Government. It's a radical leaders. Of States counties, cities, whatever. Or is it going to be people for people? We have. What did you just leave knowing? When you just gotTa love the irony that the Minnesota governor had the balls to ask the white. House for for bailout money after they let their city burn. I, mean, I understand there are citizens that were affected by that. But you know my argument would be well I'll tell you what once you spend the money that you say from you know. From dissolving your police. Believe. Yeah what you spend that money go ahead. Save yourself though you know the. Four hundred million dollars spent annually on your police force. Etc.. And They're not gonNA, pass it out. There's a blank check to the people because well, you know we don't get our tax money that way. Exactly. HAVE YOUR IS A. Stalemate along the lines of. City Minneapolis Saint Paul's which Is Looking for a five hundred dollar bill out the government's GONNA help. They're going to have to get that money somewhere. Well exactly and the question. Phoenix afraid now, but to answer your question or respond to your statement. I believe you said they're not gonNA raise taxes through the roof to do it. Of course, they will. Of course they will in turn. Bring. I. That's. That's a real trick. Isn't is when the IRS gets involved or whatever State Department revenue they have comes and starts locking people up the people sheepishly combine. and. The guy will probably get reelected. Let's be honest. Well you will probably see. You'll probably see something for the cities that were affected by riots and everything put into like a another stimulus bill passed by the house. Like they have added that money there you go to a legal and yeah. And everything else that I wouldn't put it past the House to sit there and add a piece in there that every city that was affected by these riots or has hardships now. Get X. amount of. Millions of dollars as part of this. Bill to. Help, stimulate the economy and the people that actually are affected by all this. That, it should be helping they'll put their. Claws into it and put. Extra things that won't matter, and then it'll sit there and argue back and forth between the House, and the Senate for God knows how long Because they won't budge on wasn't it? Well one thing you have to love about the strategy employed by the Democrats they're gonNA. They're gonNA try to stick it in something that make the president look bad if he vetoes it. Oh. Yeah. It'll be. It'll be some sort of. Bill and he'll have to it, and then they'll scream how he doesn't care about children. Exactly among the media will be all over it. Media will be all over at bashing him. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. The president doesn't care about the future. There for the last four years anyway. Well Yeah they've they've. It's funny. I. Yeah I was GONNA say I. Johnson and Nixon for sure. But you know twenty I hear people talking about Oh. Trump won't accept the results of the twenty twenty election loses you guys still haven't accepted the fact that you're get forty. Or the fact that impeachment failed yeah. Yeah the. Everything else. Rono. Everything else that you've thrown at them hasn't stuck. Exactly this is. This is reality you know this is not theory. All this stuff is happened. You know. I saw something today and I don't remember where it was talking about the reason that you know that. They want to sit there and blame trump for not being ready for this pandemic and everything was because the other half of the fence was sitting there. So busy trying to get him out for the last four years that he couldn't take time to focus. On being prepared for anything like that. The funny part is, is I I'm trying. I'm trying to I'm I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired of hearing how Trump getting the blame for a hundred and thirty thousand body bags. Here this is this is the thing we need to do things. We need to change the story number one it should be only a hundred, thirty, thousand, five bags why? If if anybody recalls I do specifically PURDIS MR TRUMP DONALD TRUMP put a travel ban in effect once we had ten positive cases in this country, the left assailed him for weeks for doing it. Okay. Nancy. Pelosi went to Chinatown encourage people not to wear masks Blah Blah. Xenophobic Racist Blah Blah Blah, pick your s that's yacht called, and now all of a sudden they WANNA blame him for one hundred, thirty, thousand body bags may explain something if he hadn't done what he did when he did, there'd be a million three bodybags. Okay end of discussion this has nothing to do with mass. This is all a political fucking game and and I'm tired of hearing about it. Except from you guys I love your new guys. DOTS. I. Think. Let's just put that on record right now. Yeah you're paid to talk matter of fact, we don't pay you at all. Yes. I think we have a contract we'll get. something. About our bucks and it'll happen advil or something like that. I. Think it was under someone nine. I was a corner of starbucks eight was a quarter of an advil and half starbucks get it straight monthly and you're no. Damage. Send Me. Oreo. Wait a minute. I want kids count. You want to renegotiate. All of your agent moved to Seattle. Yeah exactly somebody please his comments to that brick wall over there. Oh Yeah. Yeah. All right I feel like I've rented enough. Is there anything you gentlemen WANNA cover that I missed? How `bout? Redskins finally caving. By quest over we're going we're going for football. Then we're GONNA touch the Third Rail Ladies and gentlemen he just licked and grabbed it go right ahead phoenix. I did read an article that. There are some and I'm not saying a whole bowl loan. I'm not saying that YOU KNOW ENTIRE PATIENT O. Or and it's hard tribal right that there are in fact, some of the indigenous votes, native Americans. That want keep it because it actually gives them a sense of ownership relevant. We've along on this we have this. We can follow this because that is you know a depiction of our people. What's the Redskins fans great. I have no problem with that if there. was somebody like football but hey, you know I, see it representation in my people here. Thank you. There are well, we don't get me wrong that no, all fuck you and take it other. Cash kind of it's actually kind of funny that you mentioned that being that I'm also for those of us this for those of you just tuning in and getting no us as we get to know you I, am a football nut job I have been since my early days Yes. I was GONNA. Say I think there's actually incriminating proof out there wasn't much of a about football I gotta tell you. My love for the game has often outweighed all of this You know all the polit political bullshit that's going on in the game for quite some time. Get into Kapernick, that's a whole other rent for me that lasts about forty five minutes and maybe we'll do an episode just on that Now, there was always my understanding in watching anything about the Washington redskins and and the history of them that the that the team was supposedly named for one of their assistant coaches who was native American and it was if anybody. I played football I I. I. I know that Phoenix not sure if you did mark You know everybody everybody on the football field to talk shit and especially to your friends okay and Just because you have some sort of negative pejorative is a nickname, doesn't mean that people hate you Okay. So The, the the legend was and I've actually since found out found out, different resin was at the team was named for in honor of one of their beloved assistant coaches. Evidently that's not the case. Racist over racist overtones aside I? Mean we can dissect anything want. Come up with all kinds of. The point being is, why don't we just name? The region Caucasians and everybody'll be happy. Okay I mean. Seriously also living in living in Florida I gotTa tell you the university or she state has a deal to to use the seminole name from the from the seminal nation. They paid them royalties every year, which is why you don't hear this here the Indigenous People screaming about Florida state. Okay. So You know I I don't I don't want to say they haven't been relevant for twenty years. Hey easy. I. Agree I agree too I mean my head. One is, Emma water but. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute mark. Are You All I I. Take over the gators day. Well me too because. No. Fan. You know what you know University of Miami and the Florida. GATOR gator. Yeah. So It's just block. Gives you wondering we all love each other teams until we play each other so that that being said. Does anybody have any idea about the outrage regarding redskins? Honestly. I mean I might just you know that stupid that I don't see the problem with the name it's the name of sports team. Okay. I mean we'RE GONNA change the Cleveland Indians. Are we gonNA change you know aerobics Today. But that's again that's a whole other. That's a whole other thing. But how many? Are they are all the sports teams just to be to be called the daisies and you know we're good to go. Or how about the banana flavor wouldn't? Well, this is like football gets get. Exactly. Yeah. Very wrapped up about injuries and things like that. Like five put flags on. Let's play flag football. But that's really the other thing I mean. You can argue that these guys are being paid wages that are equivalent to see to. Well, okay. hazard pay I mean there's they're making millions and millions of dollars. No offense I, what what what what come? Okay. These these guys mostly have guaranteed contracts. So, you break your leg. You're out of the game you're still getting paid and you should have gotten a degree so you should be able to join the workforce afterwards. Well. Puffing along the line that you know you're getting my mom bought list during my day. Is. Lump everything together all of one. We have you know events that have taken place because of. What took place. In A now it's moved to now we're going to start tearing down statues of anybody that. Could would did whatever. But now okay. Well, we need to keep that ball rolling. So we need this Norfolk Russell. Hey. Let's NFL take. Let's go up for baseball teams. Blackhawks. I love the fact that the blackhawks till they told those guys to stuff it. They're like, no, we're not change Noel. I mean yeah, and also also the the pretty big assumption there is that these people that are tearing down statues have any clue who they are I mean want to remove a statue wondering. I it's like I'll take the consequences of not taking US history for eight hundred Alex. Basically. Look, we get to wipe out four. Daily double. All right. So we'RE GONNA WE'RE GONNA. PULL DOWN WE'RE. GonNa pull out Lincoln and we're GONNA pull down the statue of an abolitionist. Yeah. Let's do that. Oh Yeah. Well, they're not even educated. They're pulling down you know. They're pulling down. Statues of people that fought four slavery. To to abolish slavery, they're pulling down. I mean I saw they ruined the Frederick Douglass. Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah you mean the guy that advised Lincoln on how to actually take slavery down Gee I can't imagine why you hear him down. Clearly again, that's That's World Super Eight Hundred Alex. Exactly exactly no no, it's not world history. It's common core history. That's that's right. And? There is no wrong answer to one plus one. Knew exactly. All right boys I. think that's going to wrap it up for. I. Think that's going to wrap it up this particular episode everybody that joined us. Thank you very much. World Premier Episode - burst 01

"Hello America. And welcome to the midnight. Patriots involves Spartan and I am flanked by Phoenix, Drip Dick, and mark. We are the midnight patriots and you may be asking yourselves why in the hell are we doing this? Well, got to be honest with you. Everybody has insomnia sucks almost as bad as tyranny that and we have day jobs. So we're GONNA talk in the series about the Constitution the bill of rights politics national current events. WE'RE GONNA call out here anyway guardless of the perceive political flavor using these standards of information logic and a passion for liberty. So that being said, I wanted to read something here real quick on our maiden voyage as sort of a sort of a way to set the standard. This this passage I'm about to read was actually written by. Thomas Paine one of our founders and framers, and regardless of how you see this man and the values that he possessed in that day that this was written this was written about seven months after the excuse me five months after the declaration of independence. So this is a this is a passage from December twenty, third, seventeen, seventy, six many of you have heard the the the line of this but I'm to go a little bit deeper into it, and hopefully this'll give the show some sort of context and and we hope we can earn your support as as time goes on. So this is from December twenty, third seventeen, seventy, six when the When the Revolutionary War was still going on and it says says as follows. These are the Times that try men's souls. Summer soldier in the Sun signed gatriways will in this crisis shrink from the service of their country. But he that stands by it now deserves the love and the thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, there's not easily conquered. Yet, we have this consolation with us at the heart of the conflict, the more glorious triumphs. What we obtained too cheap. We assume too lightly. It is dearness only that gives every thing. It's value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price on its goods. And it would be strange indeed if so celestial and article as freedom. Should not be highly rated. So those are the kind of the words that I could keep in mind as we go through this in every man here every person associated with this show would definitely be on the flag to make sure that the stretch stay read. So we're GONNA open up tonight and we're going to kind of open up the insanity that we've been seeing around our country regarding corona virus covid nineteen. Now everybody fever mind that none of us are medical professionals and our virologist by any stretch of the imagination where relating experiences and questions nothing that we say should be taken as any sort of diagnostic approach or any sort of Expert opinion. That said yours truly your host here Paul Spartan well, actually come at this from a perspective of being Osha certified in matters of respirators and and breathing protection. the rest of US come at this from from our own particular viewpoints and speculations. So let's just get started off So boys, we got we have. Governors California and Texas walking. Act Actual reopenings and we've got quote unquote more and indecisive confirmations, Cova, spreading but for but amazingly somehow in New York, they're reporting any new deaths or anybody WANNA start with an opinion on that. Honestly. You know I mean there's been some conversation prior to. Between myself and the other members. That's. Something is pulling the strings somewhere. Other than CDC, a hospital staff, surgeon, general things of that nature. Quite honestly, you know whatever it was whatever stream you Asian that recently came out that. Took a Italy Area. Jersey Pennsylvania. Great. Has stated sure. But why is it only California Texas? That more back that we know of your again to the states in the continental United States. Voting populace in those states. So my question now. WHO formed strings? Think. That's the overarching point here is that you know in in my experience not to get too nerdy and go too far down the rabbit hole but the same government that's telling us you know to be afraid and take particular actions like wearing cloth masks. Are the same ones that are telling us that the cloth masks don't work. I can tell you from from Osha Training and ocean certification that airborne pathogens particularly viruses. Are listed in the sub micron rage. Now that sounds that sounds really really you know interesting or maybe even boring but something that has to be realized is that when something is a sub micron particle. It passes right through the we've of a mask. Require its own moisture source. Now. Obviously state standard state standards vary but in the train I've received anything in the sub micron range requires a A. A SELF CONTAINED OXYGEN SOURCE With the use of a mask in that in that particular bio suit I mean if you WanNa, take a look and you think you're safe by wearing a cloth mask look at whatever rally just wears in a lab. When he's working with this type of contagion, it isn't a cloth masks. He wears a moon suit with a separate oxygen supply I mean there seems to be my perception is that the same people that are that are trying to Promote the panic are the ones trying to peddle a secure and make trillions and any thoughts on John? I think they're actually. No I. Think There's definitely you know financial motivation behind. This whether it's big whether it's by hospitals by a parent companies own hospitals. I mean. There's definitely something I think that financially pushes everything I mean between them getting you know a nice. paycheck at for each person, they list with Kobe or each person that unfortunately passes. listed. With Kovin. You, know they get a Giant financial. Yes if you will. Of money which I think pushes ally of these. Claims of more cases rising I mean like we. Previously is if you talk about the fact that of you know there's people around that work in the profession that there are things have been going around that they've sent. You know unused test the places. And they've come back positive when they haven't been used. But who who? Who who is the guy over in Africa, that tested a tested a fruit and a goat. And they both came back. Positive. Does anybody remember that news But you already your point but more to your point I believe the last figure I heard to. Last year I heard from the federal government was somewhere in the area of fifty to eighty five thousand dollars total for the treatment, and if the the particular person passes, the patient passes they get more. Does anybody have any information to dispute that because I think that was the last count that I heard. Be last information that I have. At, least. It's nineteen thousand dollars for a diagnosed case. Thirty eight thousand dollars if they are required hospital say and it goes up exponentially require respirator ICU care. They stay longer than hot. You're in you're out you're gone. So that being said. We all know that it'll supposedly. This bill. Gates himself and his research company. Or the ones that. Found viruses no did all the. Problems. I'm looking for here research. But. My question is if they did all the research, why did they come up with as well or have they? That's a question I posed to you folks. Well, I know they re you know they actually waiting to get ten thousand dollars plus from insurance companies and the federal government per dose mean. There's an argument to be made there. I mean, the guy is not a doctor nor is he of Arale just he just wants to make a make a killing on the here. Now that by the way is not an argument for any sort of socialized medicine. It's an absolute. It's an absolute disgusting power-hungry move at the cost of well forget about just American lives. What about globally, what have what is a million people in the ground now lifted discovered related At least one point three. If I remember correctly I could be wrong. Well, I got the second portion. Really a big to ask now is Bill Gates can't keep a bug out of his own computers what you're GONNA do with the world. Exactly number one key couldn't build a computer didn't crash three times a day for no reason. So why would we trust him with with people's lives? You know I mean he would. There was a there was a tit for tat went back and forth on social media several several years ago when he was still a once he was the kingpin of Microsoft. And he had mentioned something like You know if the auto industry had made many advances in the computer industry over the last twenty years, we'd all be driving cars that got a thousand miles to the gallon and went from zero to one hundred and two seconds to which I believe. It was the CEO at the time of Ford replied. Well. Yeah. But then the cars would crash twice a day for no reason. So. I mean you. Good Cryptic. I was GonNa say, well, then you you look at Osso. When you're talking about these numbers, go into hospitals. How many hospitals or possibly owned by the same parent company that owns the farms that the big farms that are gonna sit there and. Produce this vaccine all the sudden. Or? Not to say that they don't already have it and are just. Still waiting. I mean I know there's always testing and they have to get FDA approval and God knows what else but I mean, what's to say? that. They're not. You know getting twice the paychecks. On. Both things. Oh. Yeah. There's there's no doubt they're doubling down does absolutely no doubt doubling down your that said the other the other things that I've noticed here I don't know if everybody's been keeping up like I have. There's a Lotta unconstitutional shift happening. Okay. And I mean. Just heard I. Heard I. Heard Mark Heard Mark Giggling that that's fine because. The little that they'll get into that in a little bit but also just I wanna take a moment mark You serve this country with honor and distinction for several years in that in the military and I got to thank you for that Phoenix. You did as well and I got to say thank you for that. You protected my right to become a fat video playing hotdog eating copy guzzling douchebag that you see before you now and some of US servicemen appreciate that and Thank you. Appreciate. Bill. Hey they already did. They're called the IRS and believe me they're up my don't shit. I don't know where they I don't know where I ended maybe. It's not. So we've got measured we've got measures being proposed in in in multiple stages. Here is all the way from you know putting additional taxes on firearms to ammunition and then requiring a federal license. To purchase either. we've got the state of California. Who is you know? Well, let's just be honest they're doing what California does. It essentially eliminated their own their own Anti discrimination laws I don't know how that happened Where the hell does anybody see an end game here other than complete and total? Marxist. Shithole. That's where these lefties and I'm not GONNA say Liberals. Anymore. He's people are leftist-marxist pigs and by the way if any of you listening fuck off, don't ever come back. None of us here at. Fourth Yeah. This year at the Midnight Patriots give a flying fuck what you We don't have time to answer your e mails and believe me you're better off just turning off because if you heard that your heads probably. And I don't WanNa hear about it. Okay. You be somewhere else. All right. Man Okay. I appreciate a hope you've You give him a little insight insight. I should say are insanity sure would appreciate your support. Statue of former Washington Redskins owner removed at RFK

"Okay. Players in the NBA. Wow, that's that's that's him a revelation. My goodness be sure to catch live editions of the odd couple with Chris Broussard Rob Parker Weekdays at seven PM Eastern Four PM Pacific on Fox sports radio and the iheartradio APP. There's an interesting story that came out today. The statue in Washington the statue of the former redskins owner George Preston Marshall was removed from RFK stadium. So, he was against, he was the former owner, but he was against integrating the franchise in the early nineteen sixties. So props to them for removing it. But I. Here's what I'm going to say as we see all of these confederate statues. Flags being removed now you you see the statue of the redskins owner. There was another one I can't remember the college. I think it was a college perhaps where there was another statue removed. I say go. Let's go the whole way. And start changing the names of these teams that are these nicknames that are Indian nicknames and look I'm not an expert on native American culture. But I I would say leave it up to the native Americans. But! Redskins is a racial slur. That'd be like the. Hat calling the team. The say ambles or the end words. I mean that's what it is, and my thing is this. If we really are against racism. You can't just be against racism that affects black people. You have to be against racism that affects all of the people that have been hurt by it in this country and the native Americans clearly. Were hurt by it. And so the only difference Allison. Obviously, there were different forms of oppression. Slave reverses annihilation darn near annihilation. But. The only difference in why the names of these native these native American nicknames remain. Is because native Americans by and large don't have the power in American society that blacks do so. Blacks have the power to make noise. We have become part of popular culture through our athletes are entertainers politicians? We have actors in the whole nine yards we have. People who do we have enough power to make noise to complain to March to protest and we have enough numbers being twelve thirteen percent of the population. So, they wouldn't dare have a team nickname a black slur at this point. And now they're removing all these other elements of the culture that have been offensive to black people, but we gotta do the same thing for the native Americans they just don't have the population to make a lot of noise about it or the power, but if we're really against. Him How can we pull down these symbols of black Oh Prussian, but not pulled down these symbols of native American oppression. And I don't look I. Don't know about the seminoles. Is that you know again I would leave it up to the native Americans. But if the native Americans, I know, some of them are differ in their opinions, but get their leaders. To African Americans. Get our leaders to speak on stuff. Get their leaders if they're leaders feel like these things are offensive. The braves the Indians the Redskins, maybe even the chiefs. If they feel like they're offensive change the names period and I think it should be. There should become a part of the conversation. This is interesting. Chris I gotta be I gotTA. Plead ignorance here I never looked into what the name redskins beans. Did you ever think to look it up or anything? Well, just think about it, though Redskins, it's like saying black skins are yellow skins, or I mean we know the contentious relationship to the least between the whites and the and the native Americans. When I grew up. Honestly you know it was the stereotype of scalping. Indians and things like that. Those were stereotype. Even Cater Bait yesterday I learned. Something I'd never knew that's enough I. Had you not the black? The black players didn't know and that's my point. If we are eliminating stuff like that and I'm not saying we shouldn't, but that's minor stuff right there. There's a lot of mine. American there is a lot of minor stuff, and this is interesting because we're seeing. We're trying to seem like. We're getting rid of all these symbols. Guy That you said they were moved to statue. George Preston Marshall, so he and a group bought the Boston braves, and they ha. They had also the braves and the Redskins, so there was some kind of connection for them to native Americans now I don't know why. If you're naming a team, you would name it the braves and the reds. Would you name it after I mean most the bears, the tight you know, most of these names are are yeah. Boy. I guess cowboys is. Doesn't make sense to me my only pushback and again I'm not saying this shouldn't be done is. If, we're trying to tell these young athletes. Hey, Dwayne Haskins quarterback of the redskins. You shouldn't suit up this fall until they changed the name of the Redskins, and then we pit the young. african-american quarterback and his whole team will, it wouldn't be a

"You already work as a journalist and a law professor. What made you decide to try writing a picture book? Did you have extra time on your hands or I have a lot of different ideas that I like to share with people. I started off as academic Focusing a lot on native issues on identity on mixed racial and cultural identity and then after being a professor for a while I started to branch out into journalism I started writing for The New York Times which I still do now still writing on all the same issues but for a larger audience. 'cause the people that I wanNA reach usually are not reading academic journals and then also with children's books it's the same topic but just a different audience and I like to think it's just like just an audience of short people write children. Parents bad are paying attention to these different ideas that I have Now this book seems perfectly suited to the timer. All living in right now. It's about food. It's about family and he sat identity. What's the story you're telling in? Fry Bread this wonderful food. That comes from a very dark place. In Native Culture and native families lives so fiber would have started out with the DA people the Navajos in the southwest of the United States. Who had their land taken away from them and then they're displaced and they're forced to live in new places ride so all of their land was stolen. People were killed. Families were changed. There was so much darkness behind all of this and not a lot of people that are reading things like Freiberg break for the first time. No about this native families would know about this. Native children would be beginning to learn about what happened in previous generations and fiber. It is a great way to introduce this talk about. What does expropriation mean? What are these lands? And where are the lands where people used to live and why were they taken away so then when people were moved to new places they had to make do with what little they add so old foods that they would have known before like the kind of things that they would hunt The fruits the vegetables that they would eat are all different now so you could take like the seminole people who started off in Florida that had been ancestral lands. Four hundreds thousands of years and that's in Florida Florida's tropical so after the seminole wars removal occurred to Oklahoma so all these people were forced to walk from Florida. All the way to Oklahoma and Oklahoma is a completely different climates than Florida. So imagine you have to you know. Move to the moon. And what are you going to eat while you're on the Moon Right? They don't have whole foods on the moon didn't have supermarkets there. They don't have the same kind of soil air so then. The government gave people commodities. And so what are these commodities that people are given flower fat sugar other kinds of things that are you know that don't expire so fry? Bread was born from the story of survival of resilience of existence continued existence and now when we eat bread. I like to think of it as a communion of sorts. Right when you if you're a Christian and you have communion or maybe even if you are Jewish and you celebrate Passover you are doing these rituals and it reminds you of something that happened previous in time and it's also a way for people to get together. It's all about community so when people eat fry bread because you always have to cook it for like forty people. You can't just make a single serving of FRY bread. It's impossible so it's coming together of loved ones friends new friends. And you're all sharing in this bread together so it's like breaking bread as a unit of people coming together and it's always fun it smells really great and then in a way it reminds us whenever we eat this where we came from and also attest to the fact that we as native people are still here and we haven't gone anywhere.

"I think it comes down to defend defense for and i think l._s._u. Has a top ten defense fence. I think texas has a top fifty defense and so. I think this is a game where l._s._u. Covers and i'm with you win by ten th i i had the hatem winning by fourteen thirty five twenty one. I'm gonna up that and i'm gonna say thirty five twenty four. I think texas kick a field goal and and wins in l._s._u. L._s._u. wins by a level evan yeah now onto the probably the second most talked about and it'll be the one of the most watched games of the weekend is obviously going to be clemson a._m. To huge matchup it's the one of the only tests for clemson and a._m. Looks to hopefully unseat the champs and i think if you look at it. This is clemson's only game of the year only game. You're right well. That's issue outside of a letdown. This is is the one game where they have to play a real team. They play syracuse. Hold on. Please siracusa anyways anyway. The the real story line here is can trevor lawrence bounced back yeah from an average of best game average is putting it lightly lightly and and and bounce back and win a big time game because like we talked about with oregon auburn you need a quarterback to go win you a big time game and ken trevor lawrence do that because i'm gonna tell you right now. He played average at best last week and i know they played texas state but kellyn monde played out of his mind played really really well. He graded out eighty two percent on the game. Isaiah spillers played pretty well as well over one hundred yards rushing on seven carries yeah. I know that's again like you. Don't wanna miss texas yeah. You don't wanna read too much and none of none of last week has any barons on this week. However trevor lawrence did not look impressive now. I've said it one hundred times and i'll say it again. Traps zeti n. is the most explosive player in college football. I believe that him and jerry judy one one one b and so well he had a decent game slightly over two hundred yards carries two hundred five yards touchdowns indecent game so the more story is so clemson's favourite. What would you tell me sixteen and a half yep sixteen and a half ken clemson. First of all spreads are spreads and you already know how i feel about vegas by sixteen or seventeen vegas knows more than anyone however they they're. They're wrong occasionally and so can texas a. and m. and jimbo fisher. Can they actually pull this off this. Is that clemson doc. Will this happen like. Will it be a game not that they need to know. All i care about is will this be a game. I think if you look at it this jimbo's chance jimbo was brought their the ten million dollar man right. He's getting paid about ten million dollars a year. This is what he was brought to do was to play in these games into win and so he doesn't have to win this one. Obviously he's not going to be on the hot seat if he doesn't but can they compete on this level. I agree. I will tell you this top graded out players from last game where there are two d- tackles and their two corners at at texas a. and m. jaden peavy was the top graded player in the game defensively for texas am which he's d. Tackle michael and their two corners rodney elam and miles jones graded out three and four so their defense played well. I don't know what that means when they play a real team seen what its promise right. It's hope and so i'm really curious. I'm excited to watch this game and in my opinion winging. I think clemson's loaded especially i try is at the end is the most explosive player in the country. I think that defense is is looking to prove something because they've they've always been a lower top to your defense and they are loaded on defense..

"Let's let's let's talk about the game of the week and it is the game of two weeks really because this is the matchup texas l._s._u. Oh yeah jose barrosa. You say let's say joe taking my my name joe borough versus versus sam allender who is better yet. Tom herman yup versus coach versus eddie. Oh visuals road. The real question here is because i don't know i. I do know that you guys watched opening weekend l._s._u. Looked stellar. Oh yeah phenomenal in texas texas look bad but man. L._s._u.'s defense look phenomenal. Joe borough looked phenomenal. He had five five touchdowns and the staff hosie had five touchdown passes in the first half. The moral story is in. I know we already detailed this at a previous episode episode but the biggest question is going to be texas as oh line and you can just discard everything that happened before this they turn their their center her the cabinet of their online and they returned to tackle but the huge question because their own line and l._s._u.'s bringing in top twenty five defense from last year that absolutely played out of their mind last week against a granted against a lesser opponent but still the front seven making the trip from baton baton rouge to austin should be salty and i know they lost their their best overall player the the bucket award winner devon white but but they brought back actor fiesta bowl defensive m._v._p. Rashard lawrence and <hes> he had knee surgery after the season and he should be healthy and he's looking to be an all american in this year and their secondary should be outrageous and the real question here. I think is can texas. Actually protect sam etlinger can they. They couldn't against very average big twelve defenses last season and l._s._u. Looks to have a top ten defense in the country so can they really protect him and and can they move the ball throwing the ball against that secondary. Can that happen again secondary. Did you see the texas picture of the guy that was wearing the t church that said there's only one d._u. So i'll tell you this. Let me let me just i mean texas is deal so let me let me just tell you so. There's a coach coach high school coach in florida right now jaquez green who if anyone has any knowledge of the history of college football was an all american elite player at at florida great great receiver played for the bucks great player and he saw that picture tweeted at them. It was like literally. I looked it up in the last ten in years. The highest you finished in pass defense was seven hundred seventy four right yeah like calm down about de b._u. And it's it's i was cracking up but it's like you sit. There and you're like that is tom herman stigma and it's it's not even a bad stigma coaches. Do all the time you try to give your players some mhm false bravado most confidence and then maybe they'll play like especially against a team like l._s._u. Who is they might be on the brink brink of like a playoff team so you have to give them some confidence. I think rate to both both teams are on the brink of playoffs. Both teams in my opinion in our outs are on that cusp of if texas can win this game somehow or even if they don't if they beat oklahoma. They're there arguably a playoff team if l._s._u. Beat alabama oh my god yeah you might as well just give them a ticket and so that's that's a moral story and l._s._u.'s. L._s._u.'s offense looked phenomenal this week i mean they they brought seven starters back including the man the myth the legend jose jose uh-huh and here's the problem with <hes> sports media. I don't know if you saw the article but i can't. I can't even remember who who wrote it. It doesn't matter they're all the same. The headline was after three years on the bench and being discarded by ohio state. Joe borough is is leading l._s._u. It's like shut shut up. He's joe borough was discarded. People who don't have state love joe borough..

"If not later in the week and then that'll be a platform that's ever ever-changing ever developing so excited about that because that's gonna give us a freedom and opportunity to to make this grow on an exponential rate but anyways want to jump into some some of the things that have happened. I guess this this weekend this week after the first weekend of college football because there's some interesting things that have occurred end some interviews that i want to jump into because they there's some concerning concerning programs and states of the your teams so let's let's jump into one of the almost comical ones today. I'll tell you what one of the one of the craziest things i've seen. Literally in fifteen years is the the reaction of the camp at florida state the coaching staff in the players in media interviews this week. You guys see it. Yeah i saw some of it. I saw willie taggart's interview view about it. It was it was willie. Taggart interview was was wild and that's what's getting the most clicks right. Now is his interview now. I wanna play right now now. They're starting center baby on johnson's interview because it is terrifying. If you're florida state fan terrifying listen to this monk long disney went ostrov sued and that's what we plan work on replanting approved this week. Even guys weren't prepared for that game. I wasn't wasn't lincoln speedy. The game or this man said i feel like the conditioning is what we need to get better at overall what that should never be an issue. Never mind that ah i mean that's not who is the strength coach the condition. What have you been doing for eight months. He said i feel like we weren't prepared major strike for the coaching staff and euro line coach show and then he said i feel like i wasn't prepared hugh strike again another on your coach another one and then he said they said no. What do you think the ultimate issue was. He said half it was just a conditioning can do the what you have a coach. His title is strength and what what is conditioning condition. You have a son of a bitch on your staff. It's paid probably five hundred grand a year to make sure you're in condition and and five hundred grand. That's you know probably low end especially state. That's a big ass school. Jeez said we were not probably are conditioning was the issue well and what i saw on twitter. That really ranked with me. I saw some former florida players. <hes> <hes> take casey and ahmad black going back and forth about this and they said because willie taggart said you know we gotta start hydrating on monday or whatever you know which he came back and said that's not what he meant. It wasn't a hydration south pacific but i'm to hydrate but i'm black and take case. You're sitting there like what are you gonna start hydrating on monday. You don't stop hydrating ever like coach. Mick would not let us stop highgrading ever and i said that's the difference between an easily strength staff. Enemies is elite elite elite. I don't care whether that's the real problem here is. I don't know what they do. I no idea what will he taggart's. Program is designed around but let me tell you what an elite program does elite. Let me tell you what elite program does utah tolbert hydrogen that starts. I don't know when you arrive. There is at a p tests. Give every day you have the pee in a cup. They test your hydration every day. You have gatorade in your meeting room and it's your coach needs to force those gatorade down your throat. Well yeah i heard that coaches which is at ohio state would just throw them at your face right okay and then on top of that these strength coaches as would stop by your meeting room and your meetings and stop your meeting interrupted and four skies to chug an entire gatorade and i'm talking about. This is daily how we need to look at hydration..

Divorce would have been a better solution but brian said denise a devout christian didn't want to endure the stigma because of the the way. She was raised because of her pride. I guess she did not want to get divorced. I mean we wanted to be together and and we weren't going to let anything. Stop that better to be a killer than divorce. I a widow gets sympathy and on top of that she gets one point seven five million million dollars so the weekend of the wedding anniversary became d. day bryant testified. Mike was not hunting alone. He was along as early morning doc hunting buddy. They pushed off the plan was to make it look like mike drowned in a boating accident. The murder weapon would be mike's waiters. We believe i believe that if you fell overboard with the waiters on that you would think pretty quickly we got to that area that i knew was a deep area basically stop the boat and got him to to stand up and when he did i pushed him into the water. He was is in the water and he was struggling. I pulled pulled off just a little bit to get kind of away from him so that he couldn't reach back into the boat and i didn't know it at the time. I didn't know if he who is trying to swim or i didn't know what was going on but but what i came to find out or eventually realized was he was taken the waiters in the jacket jacket off. Mike made it to a tree stump and clung for dear life. That's when bryant decided to change the player and he was paying again and i was panicking and not this was like going well. I thought it was going to go. He was he started to yell and so i had my gun in the boat sal loaded my gun and i just i made one or two circles around and i ended up circling closer towards him he was in the water has passed by. They shot him had autopsy. X ray showed buckshot throughout mike's six head as the details emerged in court cheryl was struck yet another blow what's hard for me. Now is what i found out in court which how oh he was murdered. It's horrible star. They told me the only consolation i could have was michael didn't feel keepers risque brian said after blasting mike with his twelve gauge he grabbed his lifeless body and steered the boat shore and push the boat back out into the water to make it look like eah drowned or disappear onshore he stuff mike's body into a dog great in the back back of his truck and drove back to tallahassee where he found an isolated area to bury his friend later that day when brian got a call from his father saying mike was missing the two drove to lake seminal. And I believe there were some injuries there. So it's still blocking you can squeeze by the two right hand lanes. That traffic is backed up for quite a ways behind it. So you may want to avoid that stretch. Looks like some roadwork is getting ready to begin on highway two thirty seven is so far so far. I don't see any delays there to the peninsula. Southbound two eighty at Edgewood looks like somebody spun out in the left hand lane. And they're trying to get to the center divide partially blocking that left lane. Southbound one zero one still very slow on the WALDO grade with construction tonight it opens up after Spencer, and it's Altamont pass eastbound five eighty you still have a lot of brake lights. "The king, the king has dignity that would be affronted if he were dragged into court by commoner and the founders of the United States, they took that same idea and put it into the US constitution. Most people took for granted that the federal government would be immune from suit, but it didn't seem like the states. We're going to get that same immunity and states were like, no, no, we're not signing onto the constitution if we don't get that immunity to maybe it's hard for us in this modern more. World to put ourselves back into the mindset of the people at the time. But I think the states were very proud of winning their independence. So in the declaration of independence, they declared themselves to be free and independent states. We don't think of this today, but the words state was the word that was used in international law to describe a sovereign nation, and it still used that way and other countries. And one of the prerogatives of sovereign states was not to be sued in its own courts or in the courts of another sovereign without its consent. And so that was the basic idea states were never going to give up immunity. They would never sign onto the constitution without it. So in some ways, the eleventh amendment kind of saved our constitution, the states wouldn't be forced to pay back debts that they were not capable of paying. And because of that, the country could continue to exist. And so that was very. Back then. I don't think we worry about that very much now. These days according to Suzanna, Sherry. I think the eleventh amendment is mostly used to protect states from their own illegal actions, and I don't think that's a good thing. The eleventh amendment today causes all kinds of pain. If you happen to have a run in with a state, the tribe says, the lake is part of a watershed sacred to the quarterlane Indians, but says the supreme court. The state can't be sued. Even if these Medicaid recipients right that Nina, they can't sue you and hold you accountable, and you're free to violate the law. Refused to negotiate with the Seminole tribe. And so the Seminole tribe tried to sue them in federal court. Spring court said, Nope, their immune feel that the people that will hurt from smoking cigarettes should be compensated for it experts say that case will be difficult to make because the eleventh amendment protect states from federal lawsuits for monetary damages, this is why the eleventh amendment is so crazy. So that makes me think like, should we just get rid of the eleventh amendment? Like should we be going full appendectomy on this? Well, I think I think that might be a pretty good metaphor Sep that there is a dispute. It's as if there were dispute among doctors about whether the appendix was actually a useful order. Yes, there is there absolutely. Is. Oh, I didn't know that they've just come out with a study that says, like, actually the appendix might be useful. So like when there's a time of turmoil in the stomach as they call it like diarrheal episode. You wanna use that on the podcast watch me. So I just want to kind of like walk through step by step diarrheal episode. Heather Smith again is one of the people who discovered this. So let's say, for instance, you had a tourist who went to another country and got some kind of serious gastrointestinal issue, and they had episodes of diarrhea when your body's flushing everything out. The appendix actually has this kind of poetic beautiful function. The appendix serve as a safe house kind of a reservoir for beneficial gut bacteria. So maybe the appendix isn't digital like Darwin thought the the term that we use in volition, airy biology's called an ex application. So it's where a structure serves adaptive function, but it's not it's original function in the same way. The eleventh amendment day looks very different than it did in seventeen ninety three. That's because the supreme court expanded it. They said the eleventh means a lot more than it says. It protect states against all kinds of suits. Of course there are exceptions, but it means a lot of times flirty in can't sue Florida for damages. It also might mean you can't sue a state that's choosing to be a sanctuary for immigrants depending on who you are..

"Five. Hey Seminole fans, this is coach Leonard Hamilton, and this is south Florida station for the Seminole nation. Eight fifty W F T O. Welcome back to the tiger talk show. We're talking football to now. A big win come from behind win over Louisville on Saturday twenty eight twenty four final score. And I call him MAURICE boring. Be go ahead and eventual winning touchdown to that ballgame PA nice fifty eight yard catch and run thing. And if you have a question for post stagger, Seminoles dot com asked the coach button, and we'll get your questions on the year on Monday nights, except so good questions. Okay. Thoughts on the strength of the ACC. This year coaches the next question the thought show the strength and always take walks here early in the season. But the league stuff to house. It always ask it is. I think you look at our congress and seeing the parody in it each and every week you gotta be ready to play. I think any team in this conference to win each and every week if you don't come in and play your game and you've seen that throughout the year already so far. So if you asked me, I don't think it's like that in most conference on top to bottom. This is where again, you have it next ACC watching ACC football and keep an eye on this Atlantic Division. There's a lot of stuff going on in this Atlantic Division. Anything is up for grabs and we may have two losses. But other teams are getting two losses. You never know. Clemson had a nail biter the other day, and they're the big king of the hill right now. But boy they had to battle for dear life to win a football game at home against the team. They were heavily favored to beat Syracuse. Syracuse that'll pretty good to meet gross. Syracuse is a actual football downfield blocking. This is another question. Block Daffy blocking was the key for multiple touchdowns on Saturday and talk about your team finishing plays. And how hard you work on downfield blocking globally that's part of the standard, especially the receiver position. We just tell them. They just an extension of office align when it comes to the run game. And we want them blocking that way to want to be physical with the corners. And if you watch the game closely you see? Receives a lot. They they're playing through the whistle. And sometimes they end up blocking guys all the way out of bounds. They need to slow down a little. But that's that's the standard. And and if we're going to be a really good office has got to be that way. But I got also knew they got a block cash to football too. So they take pride nickel. They want to catch the ball a couple of fuel blocks help tonight Kwan Murray score that winning touchdown. And I know he uses his God given talent, but he took his teammates to knock some of those guys over. So you find the end zone. Tell you. That's the thing that I'm almost decided about with our football team is some of the unselfish played that what's going on with our team. Now guys are making plays for the teammate. They don't necessarily have the ball to go out there and and get a good plot for their teammates. And they take pride in that. Now as we continue to be that way as the team. I think you're gonna see us only get better ACC number one for coach Willie Taggart Saturday against the Louisville cardinals his fiftieth career went to graduation.
