"Are still in Ukraine and things start happening with Russia are they pretty much on their own Well we are conveying very clearly now that now is the time to leave and that there are means to do that Of course there's commercial airlines You can depart over land There's obviously the embassy there to provide assistance And this is a very similar to what we did in Ethiopia Kazakhstan and many other countries over the course of the last several decades But there is not an intention or a plan for any military evacuation You have it now however is the time to leave she says Let's assemble the panel Bloomberg politics contributors Genie Chan seino and Rick Davis are with us Great to have you guys back today We're spending a long day together here and your insights are valued I want to hear from Jeannie first on this Is this the right move We talked earlier Genie about how they're being so careful to not repeat any mistakes from Afghanistan Why not bring the C-47s in and start flying people out Boy Joe it's been quite a day And if they start doing that in the near future I think that may just set us all over the edge to repeat that I think they are making the right move by warning against travel to the Ukraine and telling people now is the time to consider getting out But I do think it would probably at this point be a bit premature to send those in and try to move people that way You know I kept thinking all day with the markets and everything else going on it feels very very precarious in the world and I think to send that in and as we learn to have a repeat of Afghanistan which we can't even imagine at this point I think that would be the wrong move for the administration and I didn't think it would help the situation Rick I dated myself with the C-47 How about a C 17 or something with jet engines on it I guess the point is should we be more concerned about moving people Yeah no I don't think so I think David tafari actually made the right point earlier in the interview where he said that messaging is more important right now than the actual action Putin is not crossed the red line yet And we need to show support for the Ukrainian sovereign country And by looking like we're turning tail and running it's not a good message to send either to the Russians or to our European allies All of whom were pressuring to stand pat and make sure that those impressions are the right ones So yeah I think they got to take it step by step In fact I think they've done a little bit too much And you need to let the situation jell a little bit Well the messaging is still coming out of The White House We actually just heard from President Biden is holding an event about something altogether different We're going to talk to Brian dice about later on this hour but of course this is going to come up He held an important meeting today a video call with the leaders of our European allies The president was just asked about this in the east room here he is.

Thomas co founder and ceo of octopus interactive cherry and. Welcome to the mar tech podcast. What's happening banged to be here excited to have you on the show excited to talk about out of home. I know that there's the whole delta variant going on and cove it's been on everyone's mind and everybody's faces for over a year now but in theory life is starting to go back to normal a little bit which means we're out of the home. We are out of the home. I'm coming to you live from the office. So we are racking enroll and so it's really amazing. I mean think. About what life was this time last year versus now. It's a difference out there. I'm actually recording from home for one of the first time since the covert outbreak. Because we've been able to finish the home construction project. That is my office. Put hay in theory. I'm out of home anyway. So your business is all about digital media in places where people don't expect digital media first off. Give me a quick overview of octopus interactive. So everybody understands the context of what you're talking so for those of you don't know auspices a interactive entertainment platform inside of rideshare vehicles. So we contract with the best uber and left drivers in the country. We put a screen inside the headrest. Writers engage with our screens by playing games to think of games as our content. That's our fuck. That's what gets the writers attention. They're playing trivia photo hunt to win money then because we have the writers attention and we have the vehicle location. We're able to deliver interactive video ads and branded games a to a captive audience. Be a engaged audience and see quite frankly this eighteen to forty nine hard to reach audience. that's no longer in their home watching television right right so you know. The world is becoming a more mobile and more. I don't know what the word is. But we're traveling around more people starting to go back to the office. New mention will. We're putting screens in front of them as they are commuting because the commutes different advertising during the commute us to billboards used to be radio. And you know when i think of out of home i'm thinking more of a print medium digital out of home buses seionage transportation related. But now obviously there's the ride talked me about just in general out of home being effective in a post pandemic world. We've been shut in so much. What have you seen in terms of performance for out of home. Just broadly not specifically the digital medium chore. Yes so obviously. In twenty twenty when people were in their home the out of home budget certainly dropped significantly. But as you can imagine. There's a lot of pent up demand so folks are out of their house and they're out and about they are going to bars. Going to restaurants traveling seino's and so forth so those budgets have increased drastically as far as kind of thinking about out of home in general one of the things. That's probably worth talking about for your listeners. Is that. it's very rare that you have video in and out of home. Format specifically video would sight sound in motion. So that's where we're very unique right because it's a one too few versus a one too. many write. A billboard is one too many whereas we have more lean in one too few and the only reason. It's a little bit more of the out of home. Bucket is the fact that we are not in your living room and we are not on your mobile phone but the media format is much different than traditional problem. It's more like what you would see on television or broadcast or ot or online video. So i think that when i think of out of home. There's a couple of different scenarios and industries that i think are sort of the dominant advertisers. And maybe i'm biased. I live here in silicon valley suburbs of san francisco. I drive down the street. I see the oracle the salesforce you know the venture capped high capital startups trying to position themselves in the billboards on the freeway icy the leaner startups. That are more services related. Doing the buses that are urban city centers. And then you know there's the direct mail component which may be call out of home as well. It's probably a separate bucket. But generally i think that their specific industries that lean into into these types of advertising. They tend to be more awareness driven. Do you find that out of home is more effective for one type of industry. I think that where you're seeing. A lot of the action now is entertainment sports. Qsr and so forth and in the case of where you're mentioning you know there in the west coast and you're seeing or folks want to own their backyard but again why we're different. Is that a lot of traditional out of home is very tactical. Like i have a shoe launching. And so i'm going to buy giant billboard and get loud for awareness whereas we took a lot of pride in kind of bringing measurability to your awareness right making sure that not only did we get that shoe in front of someone but they were able to touch it click it. So we get a click through array. we get engagement rates. Get opt in where you can put in your phone number your email or even scan a qr so again. It's not an apples to apples comparison but it is a great kind of mix to the omni channel approach of. Hey if you're doing billboards. Doing television also include octopus..

Snowflake's Stock Price Soars in IPO

"Welcome to pass money a blockbuster debut for the biggest. IPO. Of the year cloud companies snowflake pricing. It's public offering at one hundred, twenty dollars a share closing at two hundred and fifty three dollars a share that is a gain of one hundred and eleven percent. But this isn't the first time. We've seen a monster move in public debut. Let's get to Bop Bassani with more on that Bob. Hello Melissa see you. So you think snowflake over one hundred percent of its first day is a big deal. Not really there's been plenty of companies that have had I ate POPs bigger than that this year loan and they include just take a look here. Biotech firm cure back was up two hundred and forty percent on its first day of trading software as a service firm big commerce up to one hundred percent biotech firm. Berkeley light of nearly two hundred cloud company and Seino up one hundred, ninety, six, percent insurance fintech firm lemonade up. Thirty nine percent on their first day of trading what they have in common is there either tech or biotech firms are they outliers marginally but the first day pop for IPO's this year is notably higher than usual. So the historic first they pop for an IPO usually about fourteen percent. That's. Historically but not this year the average I stay pop in two, thousand, twenty, thirty, six, percent. What's going on? It's not stocks are cheap. The multiple of tech stocks are historically high people are willing to pay more protect because there's just a higher degree of risk appetite out there, and if you're suddenly inspired to start buying these high flying IPO. Cautious. About this look after the first day the post first day returns of other high fliers is not encouraging. So there's been eleven IPO's this year that have popped more than one hundred percent. On the first day they have average a minus, one percent return from the first day closed forward. So be very careful Melissa here big pop on the first day for some of these. But after that very difficult to maintain continued momentum most about you bob thank you good to see you Bob Cassani and who is holding the bag in the aftermarket when these Ip has declined from the first day pop guy probably the retail investor this has been the story of the issue markets. Began though and it continues today. So. You wonder why people get exercise when they see things like this is exactly that I mean I'll say it I'm not. I'm not a banker I never was a banker and I'm sure to upset some people by saying this but. There's no way to put it other than the fact that this was completely misplaced. Now I'm sure the great bankers are J. P. Morgan and Goldman and whoever a city I think was on this deal and company will say, no, we price it right. You can't tell me that a company that has a seventy billion dollar market CAP, which was open it you know price at one twenty and tripled almost in price and had to be halted its some point today for price volatility was priced right and the people watching saying, how is this not a game I? Get it it it upsets me as well but that's the way the business works in that to me is problematic mill. Why does it upset me? WHAT'S THE PROBLEM Tim i? Think they thought it was valued at something investors in the market. Thought it was something else I mean that's the way the markets work right? Again, though it's it's it's terrible price discovery because you have some sense and bankers WANNA price and the companies want a price that deal that leaves him upside for investors but but to be clear this is three times more at least the guide from last week and so the the question really is, how can they be so far off environment where we know people are paying almost anything for growth and actually wear and cloud services but but ultimately, I think the real question is who gets access to this. IPO and the thing that's troubling is that this is not a fair game. And the allocation process is one that makes sense that there are plenty of opportunities for people who did not deserve big allocations to get them and I realized this ultimately. The dynamic of a company. First of all will say I want a certain institutional investor base on my cap stack and those are the people. I want my deal. I. Don't want certain people. Read investors typically are not the group that companies want There's a perception that they're going to be in their flipping those stocks faster. The reality is that there's a lot of hedge funds. They'd probably flip this thing aggressively today. So again to me, my issue is with the allocation process and that it's not. It's it's not a fair process maybe it's not supposed to be asked the bankers that because I think that's what this comes down to to be fair. There are some companies that actually say in the allocation that they want a certain amount to go to retail trading firms like a td Ameritrade for those firms. So then Dole out to retail investors but gosh, I think to brings up a good point in terms of the average per se popping thirty six percent this year that really shows you what this market is these days the search for growth and what investors are willing to pay for that growth. Yeah, and also you got to you have to factor in we're in a different environment. So the offering price is different than the opening price, and all of that is based on interactions with institutions trying to figure out supply demand while everyone is filming from podcast or from an ipad in their home. So it's very different than last year. Very different. The whole IPO process having said that it really speaks to the reach for growth. So, if you have the price action that we saw today. Think about it. It's Tim said you want to have if you're coming out as a public company, you WanNa, put your stock in institutions hands where they're less likely to flip out of that stock on the day of the. IPO. And that's where the whole system. Might be flawed, but it's worked this way for a tremendous amount of time, and there's always going to be a problem with any system anywhere.

"Now this idea of precedent has been set with setting a hierarchy of rights which. COMES UP in other cases too. But now dealing with Constitutional Rights Biden may have a better ability to ban salt rifles than he would have previously that was something he had talked about with Beto in Ans- that he wanted to ban assault rifles at one point or rather that betto did and he wanted to put him in charge of guts and so that is another instance of. Infringement on a constitutional right where you may now be able to make the argument of we're using hierarchy of rights to restrict the freedom to bear the freedom to bear arms in order to protect the right of life. Again, I wouldn't agree with I would disagree with that tape. Legally, speaking, it's already been illustrated precedents in be paper thin, and then be twisted and made into something that was completely unforeseen and so I think even though it may not apply to other institutions like Seino's I think it could apply in the future to other constitutional rights. One one other comment your perspective when you when you at least when you hear it, this is. That, the risk from being from existing indicates that we should wear a mask. Correct me if I'm wrong whoever made made the comment, but I guess that Sin Against Masks Rights, arguments saying that just existing is enough to make me wear a mask to that in and of itself as a big precedent, you're saying that even if I'm not coughing even if I'm not talking even if I'm not singing that equates to the risk of having a gun meanings means someone will be shot. Yeah. So right so that it's it's the it's taking that argument to its logical extreme. With either masks or guns, and that's why I think it falls through right I. think that's why I'm torn on it. I think that I understand it from a scientific perspective on I understand it from the idea that it it makes sense but I think that is why when you take it to the logical extreme I, disagree with it in that sense in this person doesn't this person. Now we're getting some conversation on. So quickly reading or you can go ahead and read their Brandon silent just talking. It says or let the risk is high enough that by the same token guns should be banned for me..

I think People collectively had the same kind of understanding in the Mesa for for Duardo Shamas was about therapy. One example from one of the macy's that I assisted in as his apprentice. There is a man Dan who was very upset with his boss who is having an affair with his wife and he didn't know what to do about this. What a dilemma? You know if he caused caused him out on it he could get fired and so basically he was really frustrated and he needed a way to deal with his feelings and what it order where did was have him bring a photograph of his boss and it were lit a fire he'd improvise seat. Create these special ceremonies for different people giving their problems. He had the man with great ceremony. Her daughter went off with this young man but it was all right because she would come back within a week and Eduardo Edwards said this with great certainty and. I'm certain that he did his research. He knew this woman was what was going on. He had all sorts of of information so he reassured her and had healing effect for her. And it's not only the Mesa's not only the psychoactive cactus is not only the Guinea pig. Rub Down and the song but the fact that there are people there from your community. Who are witnessing witnessing this with you because many people who have psychological problems endure this alone feel whatever they feel this rush commotions? They can't handle the feel despair and they keep it inside of them. But if there's a way without spending great amounts of money and time on a psychiatrist to get together with your neighbors and to have this feeling brought out in the open now all of a sudden it's different. It's public is creating a shared awareness. Everyone at the Mesa is experiencing the same thing at the same time. I think this was part of the healing. Some people might hear that Ardo Caldero didn't believe in magic and see these aspects of showmanship and say he and others like him are frauds. Yeah they were the wrong. I'm sorry there are huckster 's hugs. There's out there who aren't really a real shamans but the showmanship is a very important part of it absolutely and that doesn't make them huckster. Shamans are performers. They are really really good at it. The whole narrative you see between the heater and the and the and the patient is a storytelling event. Dan and sees emotions are being brought up rather the being suppressed. And it's dark Nazis the project all of this. You got this dealer who was very dramatic very charismatic. "And about twenty minutes, I have on your governor, Mike dewine, and we're gonna talk about issues like Seino's in marijuana and the taxes and growth. I'm going to ask him about the BS bridge. I'm going to ask him about west knows. What question would you like me to ask the governor, Mike dewine to help you? That's a good question. I first of all let me say the positive. I think he was right to restore some money to fix our roads and to propose an additional to give Cincinnati who pay taxes to the state to keep more of those taxes to pay for police and fire at the local level Cincinnati gives more money to Columbus and we receive back, and so the local government money that pays for cops. And firefighters says not charity from the state to the city. It is our tax dollars staying here. We still said more to Columbus than we get back and return it for the first time in eight years. The governor this new governor has proposed more money. So I appreciate that. I also appreciate the fact that he is gonna he's working on the on the tragedies that too often occur in the foster child system, and he's put more money into that. You know, we had the Markle Marcus Fiso case years ago, and we all know how tragic that is. So I think he's I think his heart center, right place. And I think that. He's made some some good. I starts. My question him, and I said to him directly, and he laughed and chuckled. When I said, let me write this down. I asked him to take a version of the Hippocratic oath, which is to do. No further harm to local governments. It used to be that the Republicans and the conservative used to have this belief that the local government was the best government closest to the people and every year Columbus, the state legislature is telling local governments what to do. And I thought democracy was best at the local level. And so what I've what I've asked the governor to do is just get out of our way Cincinnati Columbus, our two economies in the state that are growing. And so, you know, if if you wanna high to look good just get out of our way, if you want it to accelerate maybe our partners for growth, you know, help us reduce sewer bills by helping to fix those who are that are too expensive things like that. But regardless if they do nothing just don't harm us. He'll take the Hippocratic oath four government, which is to do. No harm and to leave us alone. That'll be my first question about ten minutes. Lastly, I have a text here for may not township trustee who says recently met with him what about water. Well, what can you tell me about water from Onoda trustee? We are we have made a deal with the county to keep rates the same which I know we'll keep him happy. 'cause there was a previous proposal to raise rates. How do you know who it is? Because I know who you hang out with Bill. And our good friend sycamore township. I think will be very happy with with the result Jimmy questions for me. John about sports politics world capital, something that's confused. You're over the years. Yes. I have I have increasing optimism as a whole long term here on the reds. And it feels like they win a series. They lose a series of win the series win two in a row. And then last night they win. What's your take? Are they going to are? They gonna keep improving the bath kinda come alive. This John the red starting pitchers had the lowest era in all of baseball. The reds hitters have the lowest batting percentage in baseball. Which is the opposite of what we were told. And so I hope that Puig and cap and Winker did a great job. I hope the hitting Connor returns to insurance norms. You know, you have risk. You have premiums. I hope it levels back up to where it needs to be which is to forty to fifty instead of ten and then if that happens, I'm confident the reds pitchers fall off the cliff because we cannot have. I can't. But the starting pitching and the relief corps. This might be the best pitching staff. We've had since nineteen ninety. I mean, it's unbelievable. How good they are. But you can't tell me that you have people like shetler employees and camp whose heard batting one thirty four one eighty one ninety it doesn't work. And so you're going to be involved in Saturday's activities with the one fiftieth anniversary you're gonna be down there for that. I believe I am. Well, I'm going to be there with Randy freaking I think Mike dewine is coming maybe the three of us get together and have little Chablis, and you can look Mike dewine in the eye and make him take the Hippocratic oath. That's great. You're going to be there for one fiftieth celebration. Yes, go rats. I'm feeling good about them. I do agree. The Winker is doing great. And if the bath comeback alive, I think we're gonna be okay. John cranley. You're a great American say hi to Jay. And Susan for me. I will thank God bless America. Let's continue with more. "It turns out that the Eric Garcetti has opened another one of his homeless shelters. We were just talking to Mark Rybeck out in Venice where they're trying to block one from going up there. And he mentioned the one that was beaten down in Koreatown up in the valley in Sherman oaks they've had to work on a new idea. But that probably wasn't a lot of opposition in wonderful Hollywood. I'm talking right between sunset and Hollywood boulevards. They've opened a three million dollar homeless encampment called the Schrader shelter three million dollars seventy two people. I mean, they're applauding themselves going to get seventy two vagrants off the sidewalks. If you've been there at all in the last couple of years, it is ten city. It's not like skid row, but it's amazing some side streets have tents plumped up everywhere along the sidewalk. So they put this one I'll list it's second only to skid row. Thirteen hundred people live on the streets of Hollywood, seventy two of them are right side may. Not during the day. They'll be walking around. So there's twelve. Yeah. Right. So at night they're down to about twelve hundred and twenty. People instead of thirteen hundred that'll change it a week. But daytime it's the same group. Now, here's my question. The story that came out about this wasn't so much about the opening of the shelter. It's about the people that are not in the shelter who are still camped out on the streets of Hollywood allegedly. There'll be a crackdown because now they've opened up a homeless shelter. But John if there's that many people thirteen hundred they still don't have a place for them. So can they really crack down on them because they've only got room for seventy two people in their new shelter. I mean, I'd like to crack down and say, no more camping on the sidewalks found shelter. But I thought you have to have space for everybody. I mean, I don't know what other facilities they have in that area. But I, you know, the police the police don't even try. I don't know why you can't set up emergency warehouse shelters on on. There's there's got to be all kinds of God. Owned land and government old buildings that aren't being used. And the government owns tons and tons of sites and buildings. And I I don't understand what the haven't been used. I mean, this is one of these full blown. We're going to give intensive counseling to everyone and he an air conditioning private cubicles in has intensive counseling, supposedly resembles a circus. Big top at seventy two hundred square feet. It's even got a pocket dog park. In case. You have a small animal it's with the dog park. Belly heck was talking about. Now, you're living next door to a twenty four hour open air dog shelter. All that's that's gonna be a racket dogs. Bark all night long. Milan in this. But this neighborhoods disgusting. So that there wasn't any opposition. The only opposition would be from other homeless people. We need to send one of our reporters back because Garcetti's bragging about that other homeless encampment opened up downtown in El Pueblo, and again, the opposition was mostly business owners. He claims that the number of homeless camps in that district has dropped from one hundred thirty seven and there's been a big drop in crime. The last time in mollenbeck went there. He said, well, there's still problems here and businesses down that shelter that they built downtown only housed forty five people. So how do you get from one hundred thirty seven that's the the the camps. I I don't know. I don't. Can't mean there's another story here that in the sepulveda's basin. They're claiming there's only thirty one people living in the weeds and the sepulveda's basin, and and Seino story and everybody says oh my God. No, it's way more than them doing their own counter. They don't believe the count. They say the official counts that the city does is just a big fat lie because then they give the talking point to the reporter. And then the, you know, the dumb ass LA times reporter just repeats the talking point. And there you go. That's the fact that's the reality while it's not city lies. When we come back another peek at the college admission scandal, Laurie Lachlan one of these celebrities caught up in it, of course, is not guilty. So sick, I her her husband Maasim. Oh, what a story he allegedly went to USC. I say allegedly we'll talk about it. John and Ken show. KFI tests.

"I'll let you tell us all about it's great to be in business. It really is. Concepts do over one hundred and fifty million customers in year brands from calmly, and we touched everybody all the prize, many I've been to but anything from mastro's to Bubba Gump. And then in between the Moore McCormack rain forests in the song where I asked. Everything everything, and they're all company owned, they're they're all owned company. There's no franchisees or known licensees except international and the golden Seino also and brands from the aquarian, amusement parks and the fun business. Good good. And it's fun. It's fun. So I'll say the numbers for you can there on the sheet three point four billion dollars in sales three point five billion dollars worth of assets. And over sixty thousand employees, how the heck the you make all of that happened when some people have been businesses long as you and they're still doing the same thing. They always did. And there's the same results. There's something that you're doing different TV show where you actually help people do this to that level. Just kind of happened over. It was great to go public back in nineteen ninety three by twelve restaurants and gone out. Sit on top of the restaurants and making three million dollars a year and gosh life is good all of a sudden going public with the restaurant company popular at the time. So I was pumping for eighteen years was was he waiting. You know in August of ninety three twelve look into stock and. Dollars. So that's the catalyst, and then I was able to grow dollar company as a public company almost two billion. And then when you had the recession away, no nine and all the opportunity to all myself product what he wanted to do with me. Maneuver and financially engineering. The company back private, and that's what I was really able to grow because coming out of recession a lot of stunt for down. Moore mccormick. Schmidt. That I was able to do a lot of acquisitions. So that's what I love and want to point out there. People like yourself have the mindset that in a down economy and recession that's where there's more opportunity than ever before. And you capitalize on that. One hundred percent. I mean, I'm a player. Okay. You always wanna have your cash ready and wait for the recession because that's when you're able to buy everybody lives more when you have a booming market. Okay. But regardless of your public or private when you can be smart win downmarket and say this off rock and pink this then. And my team have been really good at if you wanna know the truth. Lots of concepts and organic growth that you really love the value of the company was probably created by being a cyclical player in buying companies when they were down, and but we'll team to take us companies and fix them up. You know, you go into Morton's steakhouse today different different look short health. Great locations, but re concept of the logo to the to the menu, everything keep it, fresh and change change change. I love that change in the navigable. Learn how to capitalize on that. I've come up with something to do on the show where if you imagine sitting at a table with and maybe even have an over Winfrey. "It was tales of the jersey shore the Moro castle episode one joining us now is our official movie contributor, Diane Raver Diana's, the founder of the Garden State film festival and events that she runs in late winter. So welcome back to the show. Diane. Thank you, Danny tollways. A pleasure to be on your show and share are wonderful films with your audience. It is fun to trust. You had a wonderful Christmas and new year. I sure did. Yeah. Absolutely. Always a wonderful time of year for family and friends. That's right, family, friends and too much food. That's pretty much it. Then we get to exercise now. Anyway. Okay. The moral castle the moral castle was a real shift. This is a real story that really burned at sea and floated ashore in New Jersey. Yes. And again, many I live in New Jersey right here on the coast, and many of my mother's contemporaries word, they lifeguards that went out to save the survivors. There is still a mystery about how this has you know, as well as the Hindenburg which happened down here by us darted. There's a pretty strong suggestion that it was some kind of fell play that caused this disaster. And of course, the disaster itself. Started a revolution in the maritime safety area. Whereas, you know, enough life preservers in rafts and all of that had to be on board. Why they didn't learn that at the Titanic. I don't know. But evidently, these things were slow to come into existence. Yeah. We're we're all sort of slow to want to do things that might be an inconvenience and. Again, a lot of it is name the days before safety regulations. Anything that cost money was not necessarily put into effect. Well, and besides that won't happen to me. It might happen to somebody else. Correct. Yes. Exactly. But the moral castle was sort of a cruise ship. It was really not designed to about the ocean. We went back and forth between New York and Cuba. But it looked like one it was laid out like one news effectively a small cruise ship, right? Correct. Right. And not meant to go in treacherous water, but anybody who's been to Seino's? It's there's always treacherous water lurking. You know, they comes to you. You don't have to go to exactly so the moral castle was doing his thing. This is during prohibition time and also during the great recession. So if somebody wanted to drink being more than three miles offshore or whatever it was you could drink. So they could take that cruise to Cuba do that. Sort of one chance to relax and then come back and get back into the grind. That's one of its charms wasn't. So you can yes. And I wouldn't have called it a luxury liner. But again it folks just getting through the depression weren't able to go on these ships. You had to have some means to be a passenger on the Morrow castle. There is some suspicion that there was foul play involved in the fire, but it was quite traumatic and the boat landed off of Asbury park and became a tourist attraction 'cause the smoke. Look like people even though everybody either perished or was in the c-. They burned for days and days. It was quite dramatic who was on its way back from Cuba. That's correct. And it got into trouble right off of mantis Asbury Park, New jersey. So almost home. Yeah. Exactly. Okay. This is Colonel Denny Gilman from is a freedom and route review in the movie the moral castle. Let me draw some viewer comments one was I couldn't believe something. Like this could happen. Well, I think that goes back to your comments about the fact that in those days, they didn't take safety, and those kind of requirements that much and for all kinds of reasons money, not the least of which so that was a big part of it. I'm sure yeah. And again, you wonder why they didn't learn that in the Titanic. But hey, you know, of course, hindsight is always twenty twenty and the next one makes sense now, I know why the government has created safety standards and enforces them, and there's a guy who's taken a couple of cruises in his life. They do have them. And I'm sure glad and thank you moral castle. If you're the reason that they did, right? And again, they do have the drills that they didn't have prior to now on cruise ships. And they show you where all the safety gear is and all of that. Which again makes a lotta sense. It does even though most people don't pay a lot of attention to it. Well, what if they got in trouble?.
