Charlie Defines "Woke"
"I wanted to find woke. I want to play this piece of tape. She's a sweet person, Bethany mandel. She should have been more prepared for this. And it looks hard. You get put on the spot unless you host a radio program or a TV show. It's difficult to always have an answer. I mean, I think if she was asked to answer that as an op-ed, she would have done it, but it was she just kind of got a little twisted. Cut 92, Bethany mandel got asked a question by Brianna joy. Who I've debated actually. You guys should find that debate at turning point you say YouTube. Play cut 92, she gets asked the question of what is woke? Would you mind defining well because it's come up a couple times that I just want to make sure I'm on the same page. So, I mean, woke is sort of the idea that. This is going to be one of those moments that goes viral. I mean, woke is something that's very hard to define, and we've spent an entire chapter defining it. It is sort of the understanding that we need to totally reimagine and reduce society in order to create hierarchies of oppression. What bothers me about this clip and it's painful to watch is it makes us conservatives look stupid, okay? It makes as if we don't know what we're talking about because it would say well call the time. So we're going to dive into actually what woke is. Here's the best definition. Call everything systemically unjust until you control it. That's woke. Where does what come from? Woke comes from a particular activist who is wearing stay woke, get woke T-shirt, colloquially that was spread on Twitter, was that guy's name, del Rey or something, where you have now been awoken to all the systemic injustice, almost as if now you have the glasses and you can see the fault lines. You can see the fissures. You have awakened to the injustices. Before you were asleep and now you are awake. That is what the idea of woke means. But woke ism is tyrannical Marxism by another name. That's what it is. It is prioritizing race over merit. It is prioritizing characteristics that mean nothing. It is a full throated, negative campaign against the founding of America, woke ism is a campaign in crusade against people that they think are oppressors and turning people to believe their victims and then have the victims victimize others.

Pentagon Officials Claim Alien Mothership Could Send Probes to Earth
"W spotted this in the New York Post. I just wanted to read the headline because it gives you pause. I think it's fair to say that this is not a headline. Well, maybe it's a headline you would have seen in a tabloid. But you wouldn't expect to see this headline in a normal newspaper. Pentagon officials suggest alien mothership in our solar system could send many probes to earth. Wow. So now we're talking about space aliens, not illegal aliens, but space aliens, and you are reading the read a couple of the lines in here because it really makes you step back and ask, do we have to now consider the idea that there are other living creatures, aliens, and creatures with some sophistication, because the implication of the article is they're checking us out. They're sending out these probes. That are trying to detect life here. So if we so there are smart aliens looking to see if there's anybody else out there. Right. So The Pentagon official said in a draft document last week that aliens could be visiting our solar system and releasing smaller probes like missions conducted by NASA when studying other planets. But I did ask you the question of how does this kind of read with biblical teaching? Because I, as you know, do not believe in aliens. There are a lot of people that do, and they say that there are abductions, alien abductions, and all those things. I don't believe in any of that, but primarily because of my biblical beliefs. So I was asking you, how does how do they coincide? I mean, how do you, I mean, honestly, my view on aliens is to keep an open mind. I mean, I'm sort of agnostic on the issue of aliens, because first of all, we have a universe that's unimaginably big. Levels of knowledge about it are unbelievably small. We seem to know a lot about the universe about black holes and things like that. But about the existence of other creatures in this vast universe, we know nothing.

West Virginia AG Phil Morrisey Discusses His Latest State Battle
"Why are we putting up with men playing in women's sports? It's a very simple question. And the attorney general of West Virginia, someone who I've known for quite some time actually, who he should be the senator from West Virginia, that's a separate issue. Has a pretty serious answer, which is we're going to challenge this in the courts, joining us now is Patrick Morrissey, Patrick, welcome back to the program. Surely it's great to be with you and you're always spot on on these issues. This is a really interesting case. I'm really excited to talk to you about it today. Yeah, I am equally as excited. And so why don't you just explain it to our audience? I'm sure there's a lot of legalese involved here. So take as much time as necessary. I asked the simple moral question, why do we allow men in female sports, explain the legal question? Absolutely. So first of all, Americans have been watching what's been going on. They saw the NCAA swimming championships. They saw a lot of instances where biological males are coming into compete in women's sports. And West Virginia, a number of years ago in an effort to really get ahead of the curve, said, we're not going to let that happen. So the legislature, knowing what the future would likely look like, they said that if you're a biological male, you couldn't play in women's sports. That doesn't deny you the opportunity to play sports. It just says that you're not going to compete on the woman's team. So we thought this was a very reasonable common sense approach to protect women from a safety perspective and in terms of advancing their athletic opportunities. Charlie, as you know, title 9 has been utilized by women to advance to further athletic activities and also to develop leadership skills with women. So the West Virginia legislature knew all this at the time, they passed the law, but shortly after the law was passed, you got the inevitable challenge from plaintiffs trying to enjoy the law.

New Intel on Biden's Disgraceful Withdrawal From Afghanistan
"There is a telling new piece of information concerning Biden's disgraceful withdrawal from Afghanistan from Kabul. And this, if anything puts to Biden people in an even more deplorable light. In fact, it doesn't make the U.S. Military look very good either. Now a little bit of background just to refresh your memory in July 2021, Joe Biden abandons Afghanistan. He does it by abandoning the Afghan Bagram airfield in the middle of the night. I mean, essentially they just turn the lights out and took off, they didn't even tell the Afghan commander who only found out about the departure two hours after it happened. As we know, the United States left behind all kinds of military equipment, to humvees, uniforms, rations, even all kinds of sports drinks. For the Taliban terrorists who were just downright delighted to find this huge stash of weapons gifted to them. Worth tens of millions of actually perhaps billions. I'm not sure. I don't remember the number now. Now, the Taliban takes over the background air force which by the way is about 30 miles north of Kabul. And if you'll remember, there was an ISIS suicide bomber who murdered 13 U.S. servicemen and women, 6 and a 169 Afghans as well. And this guy was one of the guys at the Taliban released from a prison at the Bagram base. So by abandoning Bagram, we turn it over to the Taliban, they release the guy who turns out to be the suicide bomber. His name is Abdul Rahman. And he sets off this explosive that causes all this carnage. Now our story picks up right here and involves a sergeant, his name is Tyler Vargas Andrews, U.S. Marine Corps sniper, and he was serving in Afghanistan at bad time. Turns out that he spotted the suicide bomber. He recognized that this guy was about to do something bad. He might not have known how many explosives the guy has on him, but he recognized him, he stood out and he requested authority from the U.S. Military to shoot. This is where things take a very bad turn. He says, I requested engagement authority while my team leader was ready. The response, leadership does not have the engagement authority for us. Do not engage.

Why Competition Is Necessary?
"All right, ladies and gentlemen, I was just looking at the, I don't want to finish what I was saying about Carrie Lake in the Republican Party. We need competition. You don't just get the float into the presidency. You know, it's just like playing football. It's like, just because you were a junior, just say, hypothetically, let's say you're in a football team, just like I was. I mean, this is how my football career went. Just because you were an elite athlete and you are an all American football player. Don't mean that they're just going to guarantee you a spot. You may be by far the best athlete. They're not going to gain treat the spot. There needs to be competition. People need to get out there and compete. You don't just get handed the presidency just because you got to compete, man. You got to have a better argument. You got to give the people an opportunity to make a real decision. This is not a communism? You know, just pick a leader because they, no, man, I want to see some competition. I want to see. I mean, to be honest, I want to see Ron DeSantis. Campaign against Donald Trump and Donald Trump against Ron DeSantis. I want to see if we're on the Santa's fold like a lawn chair. Or can he stand up? Because therefore, let me tell you this. If Ron DeSantis can't stand up to Donald Trump in this election, I don't want to run the santas in 2028 or whatever whenever that'll be. He don't need to run for office. He needs to stay a governor.

The Crypto Industry's Banking Crisis
"Plenty going on a little bit of a crypto banking crisis going on and Jen is going to take a hack at that one with the first story of the day. What do you got? All right, so in the face of this crypto banking crisis, crypto dot com is struggling to maintain its Fiat on ramps. The exchange's current banking partner is only accessible to users in the European Economic Area and in other news, you'll remember we spoke about silver gate yesterday working with the FDIC to try and stay afloat. Now they are saying that they are going to voluntarily liquidate and wind down operations. Zach, I'm going to toss this one off to you. Where do we go from here? Yeah, we were talking just yesterday like watch this story and that sure enough voluntary liquidation hit that night. Wow, amazing. Anyway, silvergate was, as we discussed yesterday, a major partner to many crypto firms in the space, providing both Fiat, offering up on ramp, and also just banking services, right? They had been sort of a pioneer in serving an emerging sector. And by way of their association with FTX and almita, they seem to have passed away. So they're being wound down, that's something that sends multiple players in the space scrambling to look for additional banking partners. And I think it's becoming more and more difficult. Again, in the wake of this joint pronouncement in January from U.S. banking regulators that touching crypto is bad, according to them. And so therefore, people are trying to figure out how to make this work. It really does seem as though crypto and the U.S. is in crisis right now. Off ramp into the beloved U.S. dollar is indeed compromised at scale, right? There's still several banky partners out there signature we mentioned yesterday. Customers bank, we mentioned previously. But these are banks that are potentially proceeding at their own risk, right? They probably have better risk parameters in place. A lot of them didn't have exposure to FTX, so they should be fine

The core technological actually came from From from idiot. Rick from from from sisson to and then the knoxville university must spot of that as well okay. We'll at a fascinating a to exercise their and challenge. What's the what's the next challenge. Was this the finally signing thames of that three year process that was the in terms of this subterranean challenge. Yes so in. Terms of the subterranean challenge This was the final event for us. The project still is ongoing. Erase won't build the end of the calendar. You still have to submit funnel reports and things like that. The challenge ye- yes. That's that's the conclusion of that but they are hoping fall to compete in which were Robotics challenge that darpa announced in the future. Would you say that your operationally ready so if there is a major disaster you i ready to go so let let me put it this way. So for this to work. We had to develop so many component technologies. Just one thing that we had to do and Various aspects of what we've developed has different levels of maturity So for example slammed raji extremely mature. We about to Spin out a company there the next one that we are currently focusing on to mature our navigation stack and that's the monte navigation stack so we are in the process of maturing that then we have an underlying modern communication system that we've developed apart from the actual physical hard very developed a framework that can deal with kind of bossy dip rox resource constrained bandwidth constrained communications. So that in itself has has valley so most of these technology components have multiple use cases. And be already in conversations with there is industry sectors with industrial partners who are really keen on adopting or converting this technology in to real cases for them and a first responders definitely by there. There are this environmental monitoring forestry mine rescue all sorts of sectors and. We are very confident that we'll be able to get this big long translated into real will use cases which would contribute to saving lives And then making making the quality of life much metaphor for him as well as applications. You probably haven't even thought of yet With some of those are the individually or together or a combination of those amicable. I suppose the last thing is might be shout to the tame a how many people were involved and maybe some of those disciplines in this spice to because obviously the the and the integration but anything on the platforms themselves as well or defined the ol- become quite multi-disciplinary. You can't stick to one disciplined all you complement each other. What what was the mike A cold after the time it was a very large team and zero itself. We have a romp into people who worked on this and then we have a dog nations And and georgia pick the crucial for for success at this event and bureau. Robotics by nature is a very multi story. Iria definitely complement each other and for for this type of field robotic deployment. We redefined field. Robotics you have to deploy robot into an mama's you don't have control of the environment and you definitely need all the way from Mechanical engineering electrical engineering Engine designs software engineering. Read all of the above stewart. Can we had a really talented and dedicated Engineers and research is of course our researchers as well who had to solve a really challenging research problems to be able to deal with this sort of and can be automated like spice intended to spice launches in mike mistakes and then that helps them with that died with the data that comes through and then is that that's the price just continual process of improvement in applying machine lending review can that automation so they will only get better and faster and then you dealing with things like the power and the processing hanging mic that old more efficient at it's called a long journey but that's the process that you in purchase of continual improvement. Absolutely that's what we've been doing for the last two years as well because even here now all in brisbane we we do regress regular testing sometimes multiple pines of ige would be obvious to do very rigorous weekly integration testing every friday. Evie tried to run as if it is the competition. Time bronze setup goals on Lab in implementing in princeton and. We do very detailed logging. And we analyze the data logs off each drawn. Figure out what worked but didn't work and keep fixing a continuous cycle of tests analyzed data improve. And guess what you're absolutely right like figuring out where do the processing bottlenecks alpha example communication bottlenecks. How can we make processes more efficient. And that's what we've been doing for the last three years and even though the pace might slightly slowed own given the challenges over but going forward we will follow similar paradigm to which this technology into The real applications and last question. Because i find this fascinating Could keep going old Anything that you have on a weekly. You don't quite yet capability that you think you're either working on thinking off. We had one more things like an object avoidance for the dryness or something like that. Is there anything that you think Once we get that it's going to be a game changer I think that there are not so little. Bits and pieces that we can improve on but specifically in relation so i'll onset into specifically in relation to The challenge gender and the event that we had things that we didn't have automated The things that we automate one was The decision to launch the drone. So that was obviously in my previous description. Debate work was of a track. Robots to be i am five track robots. They actually carried the on their backs when they went into the coast. We had the likes of Nozzle agip repulsive jet propulsion laboratory Mit and That that will the mix and we had The carnegie mellon university They they also are very a formidable in the field robotics domain and then the team that came first What's called team. Cerebral and they. They were combination off Idiots uric amused oxford And used only want to reno The norwegian university of science and technology and a a swiss company called flammability so in the end we tied for the top school. We tied for twenty three points with the team cerebral and that's when they had enrolled the tiebreaker rules to who's called those twenty three points the fastest in the one at a time after that yet soviet misspelled by forty six. And that's that's a very narrow margin if you're one of timeframe but you're still very happy with this outcome because we had an opportunity to really showcase australian technology and global game. Well i would have come down to in things like the power used the processing required. I would have put a few smolder than just time advocates again. If you've done it more efficiently. But i've forty six seconds rocky. That's why winning second olympics missing by split-second. Really how long i suppose. How long was that forty. Did you say forty six seconds. How long was the exercise to be nipped at the by that much sixty minutes. So it's one that's close and look it was a true photo-finish a but still we very happy with the with the baby and formed and what we wanted to do was this. Was this marathon like this was a three year project. Lose by forty six seconds. It's even but what we wanted to do was at the end. What i was telling the team as well regardless of the ranking. Let's come out of the final event having had the best round that we've ever had the competition and that's exactly what we did. All the technology came together. Things worked as designed the system system worked system work and we had best ever around that we've had the past three years in the final and then that's that's where it counted and i think that's what matters have. How much did you to sort of a can't use a coup wins. I think is the best way to guide How much did you did. You take the other team whose air gap all with an all it does is six teams coming in pretty close so if i remember correctly the top two scores between the first and second most twenty three and then The the was eighteen points. That was Team mabul that was a combination of university of colorado boulder and unions colorado denver and then the fourth place was seventeen points.

"I've got a special guest Would be joined by nevada. Carta guy who is the principal investigator with the ira and i came sick and light in september with the darpa advanced which stands for defense advanced research projects agency darpa and they came second in the final of the dump a subterranean final challenge the. Thank you very much for joining us. Thanks for having me great end. Maybe the introduces to your role. This is sort of advanced robotics. Doing the dryness knows that the analytics maybe talk a story to data itself and so the prices. Because it's a bit of a story we can go in various wise the maybe just introduced introduces to the challenge itself. And maybe the who you are up against because coming second was quite a big deal. Yes i absolutely so bad. Up as you mentioned is the defense at research projects agency. So it's the opera. A defense research agency in the us funded by the us dollar and they have a history of setting fairly formidable challenges in robotics. Fall for the nostrand. The is very early challenges in autonomous driving literally kicked off the whole automobile medical industry and more recently had Other challenges related robotics A couple five by the focus on nuclear disaster. That wasn't robotics. challenge between nineteen hundred fifteen and the latest attritional stat as adopter each other strand for three years from twenty eighteen and the challenge of all sending a fleet of robots to completely unknown underground environments. That you don't have gps. You don't know where you are It's an extremely warm for radiocommunication. So there's no guarantee that you'll be able to connect your bots and the types of environments that they had they were closed into three categories manmade tunnels Like mining tunnels underground urban such subway and sewer systems and varies industry infrastructure on the ground and then the third category was natural. Caves each of these and rodman's have the unique challenges elements in terms of promising -bility and began to send various time self mobile platforms into these spaces. So we had to solve all those challenges and the actual the actual task sound simple enough. It's almost like easter egg hunt So they hide they they they played a number of predefined article ten classes in this this causes And you have one obel to send your robots because you can't send humans in a Only the robots robots can go in and the other caveat is only one human support lobbed to connect to a computer that can potentially communicate with the with the robots. So within this novel. You need to Find these objects. Identify the correct class of object and its classification problem and localization problem. So you know. Kate sent back accurate. Location of this object. Back to the Base station and then the human supposedly verify that senegal for the novel scoring server. If it's correct us core point and and these objects are presentative of what you'd find. In aftermath of niche is offering absolutely incidence. We have The mannequins representing human survivors. You have backpacks you have hard hats you have climbing group have mobile. Phones have Fire extinguishers handrails Pockets of high concentration of carbon dioxide evans. And that's just on the identification of the objects are you using the i and video analytics to automatically detect. That's a person. That's a fine on a device or object of some kind but again. The system is autonomously identifying these tagging them. As what they. I believe today absolutely out of the ten artifacts majority of them are able to be identified. We surely there are feel. feel things. That condu- racially such as the carbon dioxide concentration and then mobile phones they are they emit bluetooth and wi fi but everything else we did use the shouldn't so our perception system that is common to all of the platforms. Louis ended up deploying six agent so we had to flying robots to track robots and to walking robots each of them had very similar perception And they had camera systems that could identify she Or capturing majors but then yes we did. Use a deep learning based A system to to correctly. Identify the objects before they are sent to the human support former of occasion. And i noticed. dr read kindle his Cto in co-founder of which is a spinout commissioner of ad Data sixty one and we have interviewed the ceo of as well so that does the sort of mirage mapping of the area as well sort of as a ballpark figure how many sort of off the shelf or applications you using in all of this and mounted on top of each other or into into wind. Yes absolutely so you mentioned emerson is is is a company that spun out from all lab back in twenty thirteen so Far identified used to be my colleagues before. They spun out in jameson So they also subcontract with our partner in this challenge and so it's a really nice story here's a. b. matured a lot of technologies over the last three years through this challenge so one of them is a wildcat slammed technology. That's capable of doing. Doing mapping mountaineers localization and mapping and emerson happens to be one of all europe the licenses so they actually use the the slam developed an all lab in their hobble map for knocked hannity's available commercially. So if you want the The the same quality of mapping that we used in this challenge you can but just from from from companies like amazon and Via you'll also in the process of spinning company that specializes in wildcat slam and because currently focuses on the area domain and a lot of and These technologies that.

"In there. And then another team out of the A F C West, probably the Chargers. Think Justin Herbert is a really nice sleeper. Pick for M v P at 22 to 1, by the way. So those five teams two spots left for those five teams. So you look at those five teams and you've got You've got Miami with two. Uh, New England starts a rookie and Matt Jones. Justin Herbert is the defending rookie of the year. You don't know what Carson Wentz is in Indianapolis yet and then Ben Roethlisberger's 40 years old. We don't know Big Ben. I would feel decent if I were Miami. I do like the weapons they got. I think that will fuller signing for one years. A really good one. They're going to miss him in week one against New England because he's suspended for a game. And I love the Jaylen Waddle pick, so I'm I'm bullish and bullish on Miami. Getting into the playoffs this year. Now, a lot of the polls and things like that that I see heading into the season where you see random executives and coaches and talent evaluators dolphins not getting a lot of love. I think it's all on tour. There's a reason why there Hot to trot for DeShaun Watson, reportedly They don't trust too. It'll live up to be in the number five overall pick otherwise, Why are you talking to the Texans about to Shawn Watson? 855 to 1 to four. CBS. If you want to get in Tony's in Wisconsin, Tony, Welcome into the Jim Roam Show what's going on? Hi. Thanks for taking my call. I just had at a couple of questions for it into what your thoughts were on Wisconsin football. Uh, I'm a big badger fan, and I kind of want to see what you thought about their first performance. What you think about grand murders and this potential From now to the end of the season. Or where do you think Wisconsin will fall in the big 10? Comfort? Yeah, that was a tough one, man. I appreciate the phone call, um Yeah, Mertz. I mean, I mean, that was that was a street fight that was a slug fest that was sort of the culture that game took on. Put, but I, you know, Look, March did not look good in that first game. They only put 10 points on the board. He had He had just a catastrophic turnover late in that game. And Not not the easiest schedule the world Now they're lucky They don't catch Ohio State this year. And the Notre Dame game in week three. I guess it is or it's week four. They've got a bye week. They've got to buy before Notre Dame that's going to help. But we just talked to rob Stone earlier this hour in Fox is going to be at that game, so that's going to have a that's going to have a bowl game type of feel to it. Still don't know if we know exactly what Notre Dame is yet other than they've got. They do have some talented players, but they're replacing a lot on their offensive line. I I think I think we may learn more about What Wisconsin's chances are this year in the big 10. Bye. Um By watching Iowa. In watching Iowa State. Uh, Watching Iowa State play Iowa this weekend like you, because I think I was going to be Wisconsin stuff is competition on that side of the big 10. And I will look really good the first week of the season. Iowa, Iowa State and no Iowa State played northern Iowa. And they didn't look so great. I was states the number seven team in the country right now. Iowa is number 18. You know of Iowa Does Iowa State this weekend? Then? I don't know if I'm feeling great about the Wisconsin fan. So I think that's your main competition on that side. You know, on the on the on the crossover games on the schedule you do catch Michigan this year. Don't know that Michigan has any in any sort of desperation. I don't know that John Jim Harbaugh is on the hot seat at all. Just because if you're Michigan, I don't know who you move onto from Jim Harbaugh like I don't. I don't know if you're Michigan. I think there's two programs in the big 10 that are like that right now. Not to go on too much of a non sequitur from your, uh, question, Tony. Think Wisconsin chances of reaching the playoffs to answer your question are fairly minimal, just to be honest with you because losing to Notre Dame, which would completely end their season. And I think Notre Dame's favored in that game and should be favored in that game. The games in Chicago and there'll be a lot of Notre Dame fans there. Um But there's two programs in the big 10. That have coaches Scott Frost at Nebraska, Jim Harbaugh and Michigan where you go, Okay. Where do you go from here? You know, like Nebraska and Michigan have not achieved to the level that they expect to achieve as a program. Nebraska nowhere close and Michigan just can't beat Ohio State. So where do you go from here? You've got former quarterbacks golden Children of your program. Were thought to be coaching prodigies because they'd had extreme success that their previous stops held. Jim Harbaugh came to plays away from winning a Super Bowl and Scott Frost had an undefeated team that got to a New year's six bowl. These were thought to be sure things for these schools. They can't even get to a conference title game. That music means I'm done. Hey, appreciate everybody who called All of you who listened stew my man for producing appreciate that today, Rob Stone joined us. Just parrot joined us. They've they've they've basically took a little while there through the two thousands where they weren't doing stuff but have kind of comeback and done this and that i mean they did the maniac twelve inch so shout out. Shout out to new age. Love what you're doing really don't think they get the love. They necessarily deserved. I think it does get named checked in some circles but almost more just because it's like new age records it's cool and i think it's only pointing to like one maybe two reference points but if you start looking around you oh this really was more like. It's the same way we did the bridge. Nine march madness tournament thing on our last patriots. New age might not have sixty four for us to do but you could do a new age tournament so that's cool to kill holiday monitor dependency. I was like full on like this is what i'm bout. I love this. And i didn't love and appreciate the ninety seven broncos super bowl as much as i should have despite the fact that culmination of my most serious passion up to that point in my life which is the denver broncos Do you guys remember it in the nineties vibe before we answer the question. Here's another question. An offshoot of that as you were talking about jess you remember bands would do the thanks and the no thankless in their records. Oh yes no thanks to my seventh period. English teacher said never met the hook you know. Thanks to the sketchy promoter. Boba no thanks to and that's not a thing anymore and like bans benicia back like no. Thanks in patrick yoga. We're gonna end up in there for you but somebody's you would assume definitely the the sophomore follow up is going to be do have a no thanks to me. Yeah who's record. And i'm just suggest well. The only answer is the avail. Oh yeah yeah yes yes. When patrick started talking about the patch on the bag i was like oh which fucking patch. I think you're right. I mean avail patches standard-issue got one in the mail. Two biggest patches two biggest patch bands ever i mean crass might have something to say but in in the art show in in the in in jersey or new york any hardcore show and nazi multiple avail. Like eighty-eight yeah because there was too expire recorded eighty seven came out in eighty nine and then they recorded eighty nine came ninety s. Exactly exactly like crazy. So i don't know what else was there in the ninety s Okay so so. You did life of a spectator i mean. Is there anything like are we putting ninetieth. Murphy's law record in there should should there be a ninety s. murphy's law record on. There is dedicated nineties record. I'm looking right now. yeah. I mean i. I don't know that it's not like canonical. it's not must-listen cards was ninety. Ninety one or something ninety two. I don't know i wouldn't count that. I don't know if i play much from dedicated. They don't got him the nineties. Is there anything back with coupons. So good it's so so good yet either warzone records that the first victory wars on records pretty good. I don't dislike. i still fuck victory record. The last record think that hits it like i'm trying to think if there's anything we missed obviously think if you get mad and you get crown of thorns. I think that the day after union record was great. Something's gotta give right. I think you wasn't to that without being like. I want victim in pain. That's a great fucking harker. I swear to you well. it's it falls into the work. The the argument that we have not argument the conversation we have which is an argument but the like the method it suffers because it follows a classic now. A something's gotta give didn't come out right after victim in pain or you know. I put cost for l'armee classic level for me. Liberty industrial isn't isn't either those records but nobody's hating on it. Something's gotta give essentially was just being compared to af this monolith of like just fucking everything great about new york. I just don't see a ton of younger bands who are very faithfully looking that material. Does that make sense. Like i'm not seeing a ton of bands were what's that or or aren't verbalizing it for sure that because i think i think it's also fucking weird it's six. It's six copies down. I think there's a lack of bands. Who are really going doing that. No no no. that's cool. We'd like jimmy world. We like these bands with like the like the top shelf. But this is we need a horn. Yeah well we love texas the reason and we're trying to do that or we're trying to do you know specifically that so my my answer for the nineties quarter. That doesn't get mind or talked about enough and it's also kind of the bifurcation of shit is the how and we talked about a couple of weeks ago. How big the spiky punk and punk scenes were in the ninety s. There's bands and records. That were so big like i think. Even if you've never heard a song by the casualties you know their name. The band oxymoron. Fuck them nineties. Here's our noise. Was like a seminal record but that world because it always has had a little bit of an apart from hardcore at large. You don't see it reference enough but there's band crossed over and like if you like a band like restraining order you really need to check out this ban the pest and there's a few gems from the nineties that really. I mean kill. Your idols is a great example. They weren't from the street punk scene but they also could play and did play to that. That was a whole different world. That had such a big thing. Then it just hasn't seen the like nostalgic glow that. I think every other corner of the room has from the nineties. Do you think like a banned cox bar has just like stolen all the oxygen from the room. There are better there for yet but the business were great and they weren't getting the same..

"Let's go record record with the lowest. What what has what has the long tail. What has the most unintended consequences. We still see children all over this. I the i think it's gotten more fans than it has a very very long time. That's just grown and grown and grown. how many quicksand wannabe bands are there. There are some. I would not many. It's it's a small. It's hard to do you think they probably want to be doing it. But they're just not doing direct correct so there's not i don't think there's a bunch of children for lack of a better term for example. No comment downside. It comes out ninety two that has a whole world dedicated to it. You know the power violence world now. They didn't start it but they're certainly certainly innovated genre. That now has its own world. I mean i think someone could argue that some of that scream. O of the late ninety s might have on. You know work. Eight has made bands at went on to be bigger than they ever were like. They became mainstream bands. Sure yeah and i think this is this ties into my one of my questions. I'm just gonna jump on this and here is that. I think you wouldn't guess but if you ask all the players like throughout the timeline cave-in until your heart stops had such a through line to like the biggest the biggest it'll corbin's now sure church because if you ask and this is like all right i'm going to be like my fucking like namedrop fucking. I don't think you have to bang your head against a wall for a decade in the way that people insisted that you did previously. So yes that's a fascinating turn but yes slapshot was the band that played the the east pack resistance tour every every european like you know every time every time it played like like were. They don't wanna talk about a turnover but they in germany. They played in germany. Tom who who's the who's the avocado. And then there's Who who are the fellas that did all new artwork stuff for may day. Yes thank you. Thank you mark not yet. So shout. Shout out to both those organizations. Yeah there was kind of like it was. It was in retrospect man. It was really corny. It was really courtney to like. Have this like negativity out about dudes going where they were getting you and you look at it and you think about it especially like europe is the same amount of miles away as it was in the nineties it felt a lot further away and if i just kept getting offers to go over there once a year with my band that maybe wasn't as active as we were at a different point for whatever reasons that might be on my priority list like oh cool yeah. I would love to go there for two weeks three weeks. Whatever it is and it's going to be paid for. And i'm gonna come back and the fact that there was a problem with it sort of betrays hal up our own butts. Everyone was in a hardcore in the nineties that it just kind of became this smell that everybody was okay with like. I think time travel would hear that. Yeah but they just go to europe once a year. They're not even like a real band anymore. What would it mean to. They not play some well. They still put out records sometimes. They just don't play enough for your liking but they do go. It's fucking wild So to connect to for ghazi as being a band with a lot of integrity One of our homeys one of our buddies. Dan hit us with this last week. That i thought was really good. It's a clipping. I thought it might be from fugazy wikipedia because it's got nothing like that but maybe it's from something else but this is an interesting clip by the time.
