Are We Winning or Losing? Rep. Mary Miller Weighs In

"Miller, welcome to America first. Thank you. Thank you for having me. So you were supposed to be in studio last minute, you got to be on the floor. There's some kind of vote coming up despite the fact that the January 6th committee is droning on as we speak. Let's talk about your tweet. Let's talk about the fact that this let's talk about rhinos, conservatives, and the American people. Because you got 14 senators who want to curtail Second Amendment rights, put in Second Amendment, anti red flag laws, and they have the letter R behind their name. And at the same time, you've got clowns Thomas and a 6 judge justice majority in the Supreme Court bring down this decision about New York, your reaction to all of this. Are we winning? Are we losing are the rhino still in control? Well, this is a big win for the Second Amendment for the people for our constitutional rights. Thanks to president Trump for, again, fulfilling his promises. And for putting in constitutional justices, I just can't thank president Trump enough for that. But the battle will never end. I heard someone say the other day that evil never retreats on its own. Only when it's confronted by a more powerful force. And I have to say that one thing the Democrats have gotten used to is Republicans that don't fight if they do fight it's on the defense. One of the reasons we loved president Trump is he fought on the offense for the good of America and that we're going to continue that fight and

"A bipartisan gun violence bill is on the verge of winning final congressional passage It seemed unimaginable just a month ago The most significant gun safety legislation in decades Susan Collins was among 15 Senate Republicans joining all Democrats and passing a bill that will boost background checks for a younger gun buyers among other steps Richard blumenthal wanted a lot more But it marks meaningful progress Republican Ted Cruz says it's not The bill won't help keep people safe and it'll hurt gun owners That's the Democrat Bill that is currently on the floor And the house's number two Republican is urging members to reject the bill during a vote later today Sagar Meghani Washington

Virginia's Nick Freitas on the Perception of Conservative Politicians

"Are told we should be nice, the Republicans should be nice. And my argument is, why should we be nice? When not just you or me, or my former boss, the president, but 64 million Americans are being called deplorable being called ultra maga are being called racist being called islamophobe, homophobic, Nazis, by the end of the Trump administration. Tell us what it's like after 6 years to be in the same building. As people who I don't know whether behind closed doors, they believe it, but when they make public statements, they say, yes, you're a Republican, therefore you must be a fascist. Can you work with these people? Is it a show? Do they truly believe it? Talk to us. For some people, it's a show. For some people, I think they truly believe it. And you can usually see the distinction pretty quickly. Honestly, I have less respect for the people that are just putting on a show. I'd rather someone be intellectually honest if that's what you really think, then tell me, and now I know the paradigm that we're operating with. But also, I get that. But if they're honest about it, it's also demented. It's unhinged. But to some degree, it kind of makes sense with this post modernist nihilistic philosophy. Is that you have to convince everybody that your opponent is just naturally a horrible evil human being. And that's why you shouldn't even listen to the argument they made. And I didn't the first time I experienced that on the General Assembly was actually in 2018. And it was after the Parkland shooting. And I gave a speech on the Second Amendment. And I didn't think anything of it. I was just trying to stand up and defend why it is that we both want to protect children and protect the individual's right to be able to at the same time. At the same time, these are not conflicting or contradictory positions. So I gave a 7 minute speech for Democrats left the floor in tears. The entire democratic caucus requested a 15 minute recess to compose. Did you insult them? Did you threaten that? No, for days they had been calling us Nazis. They had said that we were the equivalent of segregationists that we are the equivalent of engaging in mass resistance, which is kind of a dog whistle to be in a racist. Did any of you leave in tears when they? No, of course not. We were able to have adults or conversations like adults.

Why Good Intentions Don't Matter

"In the elevator coming up to my studio, I shared the elevator with, I would say a woman of about 40. Maybe 35. She was going to work on her floor and I was going to work on my floor. And she was wearing a T-shirt and jeans. A T-shirt with writing on it, a T-shirt that was clearly not even a dressy T-shirt if there was such a thing. Just a T-shirt. And baggy jeans. Going to work. I know that for at least half the society that is completely irrelevant. Unnecessary to even comment on. And at least half the society is wrong. Clothing is of extreme significance. It's a great example, great example. Didn't use it in the video, but I recorded a video for PragerU. I do it. What do I do with four times a year? About the irrelevance of good intentions. I don't know anybody who thinks they have bad intentions. The whole concept is useless. That's why that road to hell is paid with good intentions because everybody, including bad people, thinks they have good intentions.

Chuck Schumer Rants About Fox News Not Airing Jan. 6 Hearing

"They're not worried about the future of America of democracy. They want to do what The New York Times admits they're doing, refocus the voters getting closer as we get closer to the midterms. Listen to this bonkers unhinged rant from the floor of the Senate yesterday from Chuck Schumer about a cable news network's decision. Fox News, one of the main amplifiers of the big lie about January 6th and about the election has stated they will not broadcast Thursdays hearing. After giving the likes of Tucker Carlson a blank check to spread conspiracy theories and white supremacist views night after night, it's beyond repugnant that Fox News refuses to cover an investigation into the deadliest attack on our democracy in modern history. It's a disgusting and treacherous decision. One that will gravely harm our democracy. One that deliberately will conceal the truth from a large portion of the viewing public. A cable news network. Now understand Fox News is going to cover it, of course. It's going to be on Fox business network wall to wall. It's going to be on Fox nation and Fox News dot com, and I'm sure that the prime time shows will pop in and out of it like they always do. But the fact that they're not going to preempt Tucker Carlson is going to be the undoing of our democracy, according to Chuck Schumer.

Leader McConnell Says SCOTUS Leak Caused Assasination Attempt

"Leader McConnell spoke on the Senate floor. I guess. Cut number four. Let's listen to this. It's cut number four. First, just moments ago, The Washington Post published an extremely disturbing report. According to the report, a man in his mid 20s was stopped near the house of a Supreme Court Justice. Carrying a weapon and burglary tools. He reportedly told police he intended to murder the justice. Reportedly he indicated he was angry at the decision. He thinks the court may reach and an upcoming case in light of the unconscionable leak from a few weeks back. Well, this is where we are. This is where we are, mister president. If these reports are correct, an assassination attempt against the sitting justice or something close to it, this is exactly exactly the kind of event that many feared that the terrible breach of the court's rules and norms could feel. This is exactly the kind of event that many worried the unhinged reckless apocalyptic rhetoric from prominent figures toward the court, going back many months, and especially in recent weeks, could make more likely.

Canadian Parliament Member Respontds to Trudeau Attack

"BEE dot com slash hi everybody. Dot com slash prager. I think while I had prime minister Steven Harper previous prime minister of Canada on the show and I did a PragerU interview with him at one of our gala events, but I've never had a member of the Canadian parliament on the show. So let me introduce Melissa alliance. She is a member of the parliament of parliament in Canada. And she is a woman of courage, let me give you an example. February 2022, I reported this, by the way, on the show. In response to a question raised by Melissa alliance regarding the usage of emergency act the emergency act, prime minister Justin Trudeau replied to her by stating quote. Conservative Party members can stand with people who wave swastikas. She's a member of the Conservative Party. In response, Melissa Lance been stated I am a strong Jewish woman. And a member of this house, and the descendant of Holocaust survivors. I have never been made to feel less except for today when the prime minister accused me of standing with swastikas. I think he owes me an apology, I'd like an apology. So folks, even if you're not into gambling, what would you bet? That Trudeau apologized or not. Also she has been fighting. The man I consider bringing Canada to be more like Cuba than any other North American example. I wrote about that few months ago. She's been fighting his COVID dictates. And supported the Canadian trucker protest, again a member of the parliament of Canada. So Melissa lancement, you're a woman of courage, so I have a question that is nothing to do with the philosophical question because it's one that I think about a lot. Why are you courageous? That's a really that's a really good question. I think there needs to be somebody that stands up in this parliament for common sense, you know, whether it be against deployment minister that is othered in entire part of the Canadian population and in one who shows his true colors on the floor of the House of Commons or whether it's the everyday things like the nonsensical restrictions and vaccine mandates that we are still clinging to in this country. I think somebody has to be courageous and I figure that I'm already here. So here's a theory and then I'll get to the specifics of Canada in just a moment. I think I've asked this to all courageous people. And I think that people like you almost have no choice, it's almost like saying to somebody, why are you a righty or a lefty? I just am. And of course there's an element of choice on whether to be courageous. So anyway, thank God you exist. That's my bottom line. So first of all, I'm

"Turning now to Elon Musk and his big memo that's causing a lot of people to get a little bit nervous, especially probably over at Twitter since they're really into the work from home thing. Anyway, Elon's not buying it. He doesn't like it. He's telling Tesla employees, you know what? You're either coming back into the office full time, we're going to find another job. Because we're all about innovating, we need to have everybody together to engage in this innovation and up in the office. He said for a minimum of 40 hours a week or find work elsewhere. Let me quote from the memo, which was first reported by electric anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum and I mean minimum of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than we ask a factory workers, he writes. That's an interesting point. You know, I've always been of the mindset that you don't need to physically be there to have the best optimal environment for a company, but what has bothered me about the last year and a half and change is that they're almost seems to be too classes of workers, right? People who can work from home and people who can't. And that's troubling. Like in a whole lot of ways because if you had a job in which you were using intellect, you're intellectual power, you were able to be out of the office. But as Elon Musk points out that the fact we work is they're on the floor. They have to physically be there every day. And so it's an interesting distinction and one that I think has really become prominent in this environment over the last couple of

Scott Carney Recounts the 1970 Cyclone That Killed 500,000 in Pakistan

"Let's tell me about the cyclone itself. How big was it and what was it like for survivors to live through it? Sure. So this was a sort of warm water fed cyclone that came up through the bay of Bengal in an area that had traditionally been hit by many, many cyclones before, including ones that had killed hundreds of thousands of people. And imagine it's about the size of Texas and the first thing that happens that sinks in Indian freighter, which gives notice to the Indian government that they know a big storm is coming, but we are just on the cusp of satellite imagery where it starts starting to get good. We have the very first television quality broadcast coming down to earth. And the systems are not yet developed to really send warnings out correctly to these populations. And although it is not the strongest storm of the season. It's not a category 5. It's a category four. It happens to hit during a full moon at high tide. And when you think about the country of East Pakistan, what is now Bangladesh, it's a place that, you know, a lot of the landmass along the coast is barely a meter above sea level. And when that storm hits, at about 11 at night, when it starts coming in, you know, people are getting ready for bed. They hear these sort of confusing storm warnings. And the surge goes up to about 20 feet. And we have this person named Muhammad hi, who we found who survived the store. And he's, you know, at first they just, they hear the warnings and they hear their cows and their livestock, getting upset outside. And the water starts creeping into their house and they're like, oh my God, this is really bad. We should have sought higher ground if we could. But by then it's too late. The water fills the first floor of his house. It fills the second floor of his house. And he has to jump to the roof of the building with his I think about 20 family members with him, and they're all screaming. They don't know what's going on. They don't know when it's going to abate, and they're praying to God that it will be all right. And Muhammad Hai realizes that his only chance is to jump to a palm tree about 5 feet away from his house. And he does it. And climbs to the top and holds on in a 140 mile an hour winds, and he calls to his family, so you guys need to jump too. You guys need to jump too. And he just calls out into the night and no one else jumps. And he hates on for about 8 hours in this sort of swaying palm tree. And the next morning he finds his entire family dead. He buries a hundred people in his yard the next day, and his island of 50,000 people has a 90% fatality rate, where everyone is dead and the storm actually kills a half a million people in East Pakistan at that time.

floor she threw one person out of the window that person broke their late let him live she found another one that was crying she threw them out broke a like a live then she jumped out and she survived but she was never the same and her marriage fell apart and it was just something that. even if you do survive there are so many struggles still to come. absolutely and you know I I've been blessed I've been back and forth to New York and every time I go there there's something special about being back there and seeing how that that city has you know it it's it's still got a scar but it's recovering and it's amazing how the people move forward and they don't forget about it and that's that's one of the beauties of New York City man resilience and energy and I think the rest of us can take a lesson from that that is an interesting point two and the individual psyche but then the the cumulative psyche of America up until the time really thought you know something like this can really happen this is just something from a movie and house a real wasn't that day to watch it let alone if you were in the midst of it in person. so so what does that do to us as a nation what did it do and how how are we now. these pictures just yes you know in these pictures docket it's something where at the time we said we cannot be showing these over and over and you know there's there's something about it's good TV and this is really what happened but now again eighteen years later we have to see this and remember what went down so as not to repeat this so as not to get complacent so we can be on our guard remember there are enemies out there who wishes terrible terrible ale so getting back to as as a nation how did our psyche turn that that day that week in and how we change sense have we forgotten. get a lot of ways we have forgotten and it's it's a very sad and scary to think but you know when we we watch people and they're just staying for the flag and what it means in those people who lost their lives and we we see people who you know put. that in in such a place of degradation ages it breaks my heart I have multiple multiple family members and military acted to this day I I have friends I have friends who who come back from a horrible situation or suffering to the state from posttraumatic stress disorder I have patients you know it's just and that the stories I hear over and over and over then people to just kind of throw away what they sacrificed and what what has led this country to be such a great price and you know it is one of the things that troubled me as a university professor how the further we got away the less they seem to think of it as being a serious situation and they tended to minimize it then even at some points the the student body for coming out and saying those are full and you know that's like that's like blaming the victim for being raped and it's really not is something that I'm proud of them but you know that's where we're at I think we need to remember this I I am proud of it you know I'm part of a show like American transit is actually bringing this back out the out hits the news in the air waves and like that but you know we need to we need to be talking about a more often more frequently and you have to think and have to wonder and have to embrace the fact that there are people out there that say all American you do this to yourself what what is that about and doc also you know it also brings me back to certain things you and I discussed time and time again when something like this happens some people become victims are traumatized forever or they blame America or they go sign up to go to war and take care of business. well and they stand up and they stand up at home they don't have to go off to war and you know personal close personal friend of mine was actually discharge about you know a few months before this happened because they don't tell or don't whatever the you know he he was openly also. don't ask don't tell and you know it at the same time you know his friends were going off to war as sinful after this and he was crushed he didn't know which way to turn and you know it it's it's sad that were in that kind of situation you know we're Americans we should be able to stand up for America regardless of who you are and what your belief systems are and I think that that helps you know as bad as it sounds that helped us for a short time to come together and we don't need another incident like this we need to remember you know this is this is a scar on America we need to look at that scar just like if you you know have stretch marks from delivering your baby you're a C. section and you know that that you should be proud of your mother's this is part of the birth of our nation birds of an individual and we need to keep moving forward with that. we were talking about when we come back from the break dog why we some people didn't blame blame ourselves so to speak about this it's just very strange also one of these studies these professors is people who study the impact of such trauma said some individuals with no direct connection to nine eleven exhibited symptoms that experts had previously assumed were the result of direct exposure about this tomorrow we come.
