Donald Trump Teases Major Announcement on Nov. 15
"Every single journalist every single Politico in the nation was focused on that rally in Ohio last night. Everybody. They were all waiting for him to make the announcement. And what did Trump do? Well, they came out and said this, cut number three. But not to detract from tomorrow's very important, even critical. Election. And I would say in the strongest way, it's a country saving election. Specifically including the election of all the people that I'm going to name. I'm going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, November 15th at Mar-a-Lago in palm beach, Florida. I'm getting misty. Grace baker, it's the music. It's so moving and inspirational. Yeah, and I think we all know what he's talking about. Maybe some allergies. I don't know what it was. I'm getting a little. The weather has been up and down. It has
Donald Trump Confirms Big Announcement Coming on Nov. 15
"I watched his speech last night in Dayton, Ohio. There's a lot of really weird cosmic universe stuff happening with this election and with Trump. They were all convinced he was going to make a big announcement last night. And while he made an announcement, the announcement he made in Dayton, Ohio, actually specifically vandalia, Ohio, the announcement he made was that he's going to make an announcement a week from today. So there is an announcement about an announcement. But you know what he did that was pretty smart. And shocking to Trump watchers who think he has no discipline, he was very disciplined. He said, I'm not going to detract from the midterm election. And because he's going to run, he's going to announce that he's going to run. I don't think there's any question in anybody's mind. And you know what I got after watching his speech last night? A sense of familiarity, a warm feeling of remembering what it was like when he was the commander in chief.
Monica Crowley: Biden's Wokeness Is a Form of Corruption
"We've been talking about this navy training program that's coming out. They're creating a safe space for sailors who are confused about their pronouns and you just really wonder what in the world is going on inside Biden's Pentagon with this wokeness. It's nuts. Well, it's everywhere. And you know, it's a form of corruption, of course, because anything that takes away from the military's main mission, which is to protect the United States, protect the American people and fight and win wars and sometimes that involves killing the enemy, right? I mean, I hate to be brutally honest about it, but that's their mission. Anything that detracts from that mission is something that puts Americans further and further at risk. So you do see this happening across the board. It's not just the U.S. Military, but you're seeing it in law enforcement. You're seeing it across every institution you're seeing it in education. Todd, this kind of thing is happening everywhere. And it's meant to, you know, they dress it up as some form of
Cory Booker Criticizes Commercialization of Juneteenth
"There is absolutely nothing wrong. We should celebrate the Emancipation of the slaves. But pretending to be worried about commercializing Juneteenth of all things, this was Cory Booker, the crazed senator from New Jersey. He appeared with Stephen insurrectionist Colbert last night on CBS. I think the materialism and commercialism and consumerism, those streams within our society often do detract from the nobility and the principles and the ideals, but also for us confronting the fullness of our history. I get very frustrated that Martin Luther King day, we've created this Santa classification of Martin Luther King when he was wildly unpopular. At the time he died. He was somebody that pushed this country to expand its moral imagination. And so this idea that a day about freedom and liberty is descending into consumerism. We can't let that happen. And so of course, companies are going to try to do their best to pad their bottom lines. But we have in a responsibility not to cheapen this holiday and just talk about it and speak about it. And most importantly, try to be about it, try to be and live the ideals that we're celebrating.
Briahna Gray: There's a Way to Talk About Race That Is Superficial
"But let me ask you a question, do you think the hyper focus of race in our national conversation detracts from having that kind of class based discussion? Sometimes. I think that there is a way to talk about race that is painfully superficial, and which focuses on the grievances of frankly elite minorities, more than the issues. I'm just curious. So for example, during the campaign cycle, there was a real spurt of attention directed toward the issue of the maternal maternal health gap. So the maternal mortality gap in the country means that black babies have really high mortality rates that are comparable, frankly, to some much less developed countries. The third world, sure. And people were concerned about that. And the story got highlighted in some part because Serena Williams had a very high risk pregnancy and almost died. She was complaining about pain and the doctors were ignoring her. And she ended up having some kind of deep vein from gross blood clot basically. I'm not a doctor. She has some kind of blood clot that if she hadn't really been forceful about it and gotten it checked out and if she weren't as powerful and rich and privileged as she is, she probably would have died like many women in this country do disproportionately black women in this country do die. And it's a real problem, right? As a progressive, my focus is to say, whatever the biggest determinant of an unequal health treatment in this country, a big one is that we have a two tiered system and people who are on our poverty program Medicaid tend to not be seen by high quality doctors. They tend to be ignored. They tend to move around a lot and not see the same physicians in a repeat basis. A lot of things that result in them having lower standards of care. And my solution would be to say, while I would love to sit here and give doctors diversity training and magically convince them and not be racist and pay more attention to Serena Williams or whatever. I don't really see that happening. And I don't really see that as the government's role, what we can do is make sure that everybody has a universal stained healthcare system so that doctors are disproportionately treating poor patients or stuff. But the thing about Serena Williams is to say, there are the kinds of issues that get talked about in mashable attention. Are those race issues that affect affluent black people? So in addition to everybody else, but affluent black
Kate Courtney on What It Takes to Compete as a Professional Athlete Today
"It's interesting. Even our cyclist levi is was really good. Ski racer a great athlete and then picked up realize you could out suffer. Everyone pizza gone. Is i think he could be half a world champion in multiple sports. He's so talented. And the people i know who know him. All say the same thing that he is the most like athletic person and then we're starting to see it more and more that the cross disciplines is bananas. Do you feel like that's common in lot of the other women in the world cup that they're that talented as athletes. Not just this one thing. I think at this point they have to be to be successful. I think it's gotten so competitive in a really exciting way. You know the last two world cups we had there were. This is the first time. I've raised a world cup with field over one hundred. I think we had one hundred seven women on the start line offset which is so epic and also not that many women fewer than the men's category. So we're kind of like getting to equality of participation. Which i think is really exciting and a point where you can't say. Oh but it's less competitive in the women's. I think austin more we would say that the competition is often way more interesting to watch the women race. Yeah and with regards to you. Know kind of being a well rounded athlete. When i started mountain biking people weren't really doing strength. Training and i came from ski racing and transition about making and started really focusing on that sport and i hired a ski strength coach to be my strength coach and my mountain by coach. Hated it he said it makes you tired or sore like this is detracting from your ability to succeed but i think for me. At that age. I was riding on development team with like as riding mostly with guys and i couldn't keep up with them on the descents and i felt like part of it was my physical strength. It didn't have the upper body strength to manage the bike at high speed. And when i did core on. When i did kind of all these things that i was doing in my gym routine i would get on the bike and feel more confident and comfortable and powerful in like a had more control over the bike. So i like kind of diagnosed heels in instead i'll be doing strength training and moan behold. It's it's really become a focus and for me. It's been a challenge to continue to evolve in always feel like i'm one step ahead of everyone else. Hopefully doing new things or exciting things in my strength training but now you see across everyone at the top of the sport is doing it and doing it very seriously with well trained highly skilled people to help them.
Vanderbilt AD Condemns 'Unacceptable' Racist Slurs Directed Toward Parents at CWS
"Was the athletic director at vanderbilt candice story lee when she issued a public statement which we shared with you earlier which brought this to light for. The first time. Clinton had tweeted something. But there's a big difference between a reporter tweeting something in the athletic director of the university in question making a public statement so i. I don't know the answer to this. But i'm assuming is not a very very good thing. I have spoken to john cone of mississippi state and the statement that kansas issued is this. I am deeply troubled that some of our student athlete. Parents were subjected to racist slurs. During last night's game this is. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful behavior and such hateful. Language has no place anywhere in our society to the family members who were impacted. Please know that you have my full support. So i was taught as a young journalist never to to make assumptions. Let me finish with john cone statement. We joined vanderbilt in declaring such behaviour unacceptable and indirect conflict with evaluating both institutions and our fan base. The college world series serves as a celebration of the entire sport of college. Baseball highly inappropriate advancements must neither be tolerated allowed to detract from the on the field accomplishments of the student athletes and their teams who have earned the right to participate on this national stage.
Motor Trend Reviews Plaid Model S, and and New Battery Details
"Everybody here and stay. We're talking about the first journalist reviews of the new plan model. we've also got an update on the battery capacity. We'll talk about some details behind that we've got an update from dan is on tesla's stock an update on gigabyte lynn news on tussles referral program. And an interesting tweet from elon. Musk that has caused a lot of speculation. Also quick the stock tussle today finishing up about two percent to six hundred and sixteen dollars sixty cents. That compared to the nasdaq also. Strong day up nine tenths of a percent are. Let's start off here with the initial reviews of the model s. so we have one for motor trend. We have one from automotive journalist. Jason kameda whenever tesla has a new vehicle. I always look forward to these. It's kind of a nice time to celebrate what tesla has done with that new vehicle and unlike what we see business news wise from cnbc or reuters. This is automotive new. So the writing is different style. there's a lot of primitives. Nice compliments towards tesla and sometimes some really beautiful writing which again you tend not to see too much in business. News look at trends review here first. So of course. The question that everyone has undermined around this vehicle is can't actually do zero to sixty in under two seconds motor trends answer. Yes but with some stipulation so they actually spent kind of the i. I don't know half or third of this article talking about the requirements that they had for their sixty test run which i think unfortunately it detracts a little bit from their main takeaways. Which of course. We'll talk about as well but they been a fair amount of time talking about how Wanted them to run on a specific track with specific tests conditions. One of those conditions being that the drag strip needed to be prepared with hd which motor trend says as a quote thick black resin that allows cars to accelerate quicker than is possible on normal roads and quote framed that way it does look a little bit manipulative or suspect. But it's not like the hd is common this is a substance that most drag strips are using and using in competition so this is not so unusual thing in quarter mile races. It's just not how motor trend. Test their cars so they wanted to make sure that that part was clear so understanding that they write quote. The plaid model s zips down the quarter mile in a staggeringly quick. Nine point. two five seconds up one hundred fifty two point six miles per hour.
Admiral Michael M. Gilday Defends Racist Critical Race Theory for U.S. Navy
"Admiral Department of Defense undertook the stand down because they understand that extremism detracts from military readiness. So if sailors except Candies argument that America and the United States Navy are fundamentally racist. As you've encouraged them to do. Do you expect that to increase or decrease morale and cohesion or even recruiting into the United States? Navy? I do know this. Our strength is in our diverse Nobody said our strength is in our diversity You smell If our strength is in our diversity, Why are you proposing racist reading material? For our Navy. Candy. This is amazing. Kenny doesn't believe our strength is in our diversity. This is Marxism. They don't believe in diversity of thought. Diversity of anything If you disagree with them, whatever your race. Here is the enemy. He doesn't believe in diversity. In fact, as I've explained before it as well discuss much greater length in about three weeks. They reject Martin Luther King. They reject the civil rights movement. They reject Brown versus Board of Education. That's what Derek Bell taught. One of the more modern So called icons of critical race theory. And this admiral is pushing this pushing it.
"second detract" Discussed on The Steve Matthes Show on RacerX
"So it's like. I'm staying out of the way. The last thing i want to do is causing any trouble from the second detract so now adding like my gear didn't get dirtier onions changing motors like you normally do so. Now it was it was easy. It didn't hinder physically at all. So you didn't never mechanic or you'd had guy you didn't want him to train changer. We allow no okay. Well yes so. Chris cole Which is a is a great friend kind of like an american bats. Yep he's also the team owner for me. He's the guy that's been putting this outdoor program together for me so he's been renting for me really all year. He comes to the two reysen in a and do all of that. And he's a former pro back in the day and Loves the sports around for a long time. So he's he's a mechanic but when it happened we don't have them you'll or thing so we didn't have our spare will in the pit lane so he bram back crowd. This fair web figured out. Spare some todd. He's exhausted. He's exhausted us very exhausted. He he's going to hate me for saying this but he some Some stuff might have come up through. Yeah really trying to run back to grab only you will. He was pushing physically very hard. I'm proud of him He when above and beyond to get that tire back for me but yeah so yes. I'm right there in the pit lane. I'm like let's take the wheel off or leased in get ready form. So when he comes back he can just put it on so he he put it on and got it. Got me goll mac again but yeah yeah i love it. It's great. i'm look over. Knows freddie on the screens changing a tire wheel. I just i just god. There's privateer island everybody right there. We're all we're all putting Extra said there's a lot of hats that are being played for sure and the whole day was kind of that way. It was kind of a wild day. In general.
Personalization: How to Get Buy-In From Leadership
"Real quick one but i get asked this question a lot. Hey christina yes. Personalization works sometimes. It can take a little bit longer if you get down this rabbit hole of research. But how do i get my team. And more importantly my leadership to understand the importance of personalization and so with this really goes back to really. The root of the question is how do i justify the time. I'm spending verses making fifty calls. Maybe i'm taking you know ten fifteen minutes per prospect really personalizing my outreach to try to get a higher return. And here's what i usually say. First and foremost don't piss off your leadership. We all have different goals. We all have different metrics that were held by their their for reason. So keep doing what you need to do. Fight the good game. What i usually tell people to do is whether it's on this side or you know kind of looping in your leadership team and say. Hey i'm going to keep hitting my metrics but i just want you to know. I think it's really important to test this new method of outreach takes a little bit more time but i am more than happy to carve out some time in test this on. Let's just say twenty five to fifty prospects right. I will present the data to you. Leadership team on was this fruitful. Doesn't make sense for maybe me to test this a little bit more and then it could turn into a situation where your leadership team is like. Hey all right you're onto something. How about you kind of go all in on that. We think it might be fruitful. Let's keep the rest of the team moving until he kinda flush this out some more. So i say there's two things here you know. Don't be afraid to kind of stand up. And say hey. I think it might make sense to test this. And here's why and here's helen. Going to test it without detracting away from my core responsibilities but to also be able to make that internal business case right and if it turns out that you have to go and do that at night. I prospect at night. Sometimes it's the best time. It's the quietest time if it turns out. You have to run that test at night and then kind of piggyback and ask for forgiveness and say hey i did this over the course at three nights this week. It's been really fruitful. I've booked x amount of meetings gotten this many replies etc and do it
Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley are engaged, she confirms
"Morning use Here's Brian D. Shayne Lee Woodley confirmed it on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She is engaged to Aaron Rodgers. And that's awesome. Everybody deserves to find their partner in life. She doesn't seem to know too terribly much about football, his career or the Packers. She's never been the Green Bay. She's never even been to a football game, and that's all totally fine. She's happy. He's happy. They're happy. That's all that matters. That being said, I felt the need to get out of headless one because I've seen how this goes down before every bad throw Every interception. Every loss going forward will be met by some smart guy or girl tweeting at me or sending a message on the academic or grudge talking tax line there. Read something like this quote. He's distracted by his new fiance. You might think I'm kidding, but that happens all the time. It's an absolutely preposterous thought, but one that at least some portion of the Packers fan base seems to share your within your right to voice that opinion and I'm within my right that they get absolutely insane. My loved ones are enhancing presence is in my life. But his must be detracting presences in his Come on. It's just a lazy take that you're using to avoid blaming Aaron or the team or anybody actually involved with what happens on a football
Presidential Pelotons and data accountability
"What can happen if you have a connected bicycle in the white house and this reminds me. This is actually a good thing. I think to think about because we're old enough to remember this. But you know presidents used to get special. Even obama had a special blackberry created for him. It used to be that you didn't have to worry about cybersecurity because the president in his office had his landline phone rate. In the secret service had radios. And it's not like if you need to get in touch with the president you can get in touch with the president right. Well not you or i but someone important and then cell phones came along and everybody was used to posting on twitter and doing their thing and this became a real concern for people who are worried about foreign powers spying on presidential communications and now with the bringing in of connected devices. Maybe not a smart home like i don't think the white house kitted out with philips hue bulbs but a peleton is an entry point into the network so my hunch is i would. I would love for someone to tell me how to secure the peleton in the white house is on its own dedicated network. Maybe that can't touch anything else. I mean i'm trying to think of the ways that this could be bad. And i'm not really a hacker so i don't know but i like that we're thinking about this because we're probably going to benefit down the road as the defense insecurity infrastructure for the us figures out how to secure the stuff that will trickle down to the rest of us. And we'll get new an awesome best practices and the peleton itself. I mean it can track your heart rate at belief certainly detracts the rotations of the the bicycle tyre tyre but flywheel and so on and so forth like you could get in personal health information from if peleton's data was hacked or whatever and that sounds like who cares but really a foreign power could determine that while publicly every the president's in good health etc maybe he isn't and they would know that and that could change some outcomes. I think peleton does is great and we didn't think about this from a security standpoint but my wife wanted it on and we just didn't buy it because it was too expensive for us so we bought a non connected bike for about four hundred dollars and she the peleton digital classes so no data is actually tractor or something like that. And i'm not saying go do this for security reasons. Or that's what biden should do. But that's one way to mitigate it no. I don't think there's any speakers in like i don't know if he needs to watch what he says. He can't talk about microphones. My bad microphones. Right i've ridden a friend's palatine. And i don't recall that but i was also dying by the middle of my ride so i told you including speak. Anyway i'm like. I don't think anyone wants to hear me. Okay so just throwing that out. There is interesting security thing and something like we should all be aware of going forward. And maybe we'll get some new best practices out of this.
Who Could Serve IN The Biden Administration
"Now. The current incumbent of the white house is showing no signs of planning to pack his suitcases. But that hasn't stopped president-elect joe biden from pushing ahead with his plans for the fresh administration a large part of this is the people who will make this administration so comparative unknown who will become household. Names come january for more. I'm joined by louis. Lukens a former. Us diplomat and a senior partner at sigme global advisors. Welcome back lewis. You want it now. i'm i mentioned here. That comparative unknown but the list of the runners and writers to make up the Biden cabinet this pretty well known names in there. He's going to bring on a really experienced team of people. All of whom most of them will have had experienced during the obama or administration's These will be maybe not household names To the american people but most of them will be known certainly within the national security establishment for the top jobs at defense and the state department and national security adviser and those kinds of jobs. So where do we start with. Who's going to pay. When i mean he's likely to name a chief of staff this week. Isn't he chief of staff this week. Probably ron claim who was as chief of staff before and and is a well respected in washington that liked cross the. I'll have to say for the cabinet positions Biden will be a little bit constrained by the senate because the senate of course has to approve The the secretary of state and defense and all those main all the cabinet positions so and we think the republicans are probably going to maintain control of the senate. So what that means is for example. There was some talk that elizabeth warren wanted to be secretary of the treasury. That will not happen now. The the republicans in the senate will not confirm a left-wing progressive democrat for a top job. So it'll force by his cabinet choices to be more centrist Which is not a bad thing actually But it means at that. The progressive wing of the party won't get the sort of personnel appointments obeyed hope to see in washington now filling. His cabinet job says he will give priority to technocratic experience. Loyalty and diversity. What does that mean in terms of who. We are likely to see for some of the top jobs well so he has pledged to have the most diverse cabinet ever. I think so. I think the front runner for secretary of state is susan rice. Her confirmation might be a little bit difficult because the republicans do not like her. But i think they will still try to get her through. I think we'll see a woman a treasury for the first time ever lael brainard. I think we'll see a female secretary of defense for the first time ever with blank florida. Yes michelle foreign. I of course so. I think we'll see a lot of women. And i think we'll see some. And then when you get down into the secretary of urban housing and urban development and human services and health and human services and things like that. I think we'll see people of color We'll see women will see Just in general a much more diverse cabinet than what we have now which is basically a lot of older white men. Let's look at the way that this actually could play out. You mentioned the idea of susan. Rice becoming the next secretary of state we need enormous job in rebuilding us foreign policy after four rather damaging years. One could argue. I mean she's former. Us ambassador to the un national security advisor to president obama. She's she's walk the walk. She's got the experience. She's close to joe biden. She'll be good at rebuilding alliances but there is that fair. Isn't there that if you start trying to bring back people from the obama administration. How much is concerned that. I think that joe biden is simply trying to wind the clock back by four years when america is a very different place now will america is a different place in the world is a different place so there is a bit of that risk. But i think that hurts that biden's team and and his cabinet members will make very clear that they recognize that reality and they certainly are going to bring Some of the values in core beliefs that that they that they had when they worked during the obama administration. Including you know for someone like susan. Rice a belief in working closely with partners and allies in in a belief in multilateral. Ism but you know overlaid with the recognition that the world is certainly a different place in that china is stronger than it was four years ago. And we're dealing with you know. Global threats like terrorism and climate change and In the pandemic so certainly a different range of issues in a different approach to how to work on them But as. I said you know the same values that these people had when they work for obama For years ago one of the big words associated with joe button is unifying and there is a suggestion that he's going to have what's known as a unity cabinet bringing in prominent republicans. How's that going to work. Well it's unclear. I think it's a great idea. In principle to bring in a couple of republicans but some of the republicans whose names have been floated including john casick and mitt. Romney are very very unpopular with the left of the democratic party so he has to be careful in doing so not to upset his own party too much. I think a meg whitman's name has been thrown around as a possible candidate for secretary of commerce. She is someone Lifelong republican but she did endorse a biden and actually endorsed hillary clinton for years ago She is someone who i think would be acceptable to the left of the party. Someone like john. Casick are mitt romney's little bit harder to convince the the progressive that they add value without detracting from the cabinet.
Interview with Khalil Zahar, Founder of FightCamp
"Guys that's Martin from shape. We're here right now in San Francisco Studio and unconnected to aid today on with the founder of fights cab Saha. Could you why don't you deduce yourself? It'll. Yeah. If I is an interactive corn boxing gym, it comes with everything you need to start boxing and actually follow videos that are built by the best trainers of all the west coast they all fighters they all have obviously a tremendous fight expands but they're also great fitness instructor general for the listener on on our show that has never seen. It's what should be should be mentioned punching back and a pair of gloves. So what be? Yes. So it comes with a free standing bag. The best standing back on the market with a pair of didn't win leather gloves made an approved by fighters with a workout Matt, a pair of with be called quick grabs and the special sauce is who? Motion trackers that you put into quick wraps Ma and detract your hands a thousand times per second trek speed and my my punches. How many punches I'm doing per minute of what should I expect? Yes they tracked the type of country throw the measured the speed of the bunches basically build your output profile from one round to the other. What about impact? Not The impact is really the velocity. Okay. The of your hand and which actually throwing and how does like the coaching look like you were mentioning that you have coaches of all over the place and should I imagine like watching them like on my TV or iphone ourselves for me? Yes. So it comes with an APP you can the. Myriad on a large screen TV or you can watch the workouts on an IPAD whatever you prefer, and then from there, it's Kinda like all you can eat buffet. Really. So if you're advanced, you can jump straight into the advanced workouts right away we go and deep into the complex combinations. We'd practice footwork and the workouts very intense. Otherwise, it can literally start at the very first time. You've you're you're throwing your first punch. So we have what we call the prospect where it takes you from zero boxing experience teaches you to six inches and then at the end of the prospect path which. is about a four weeks program you actually know how to six months probably you know how to stand you know the basics Balkan it's mostly regular boxing the offer classes for a time boxing mma Nelson actually were focusing on boxing at the moment but we're having a lot of internal conversations around providing kickboxing as well as a kickboxing in multi, really as a as a an expansion and so so who's like you you're right now is it really like what you just mentioned on the beginners or is it like somebody that's been into boxing all their life or hundred, seventy, four for you Guys. Yeah, it's really seventy five percent beginners, but it's actually very interesting to see like a lot of them are now not beginners anymore So you know we kind of took a bunch of them. You know through the program you get to see videos online and on the social media and they're getting very proper form on have the basics of boxing. Of course, they don't have the in ring experience right visit steely it's a home virtual experience. Yeah. You can't really compete against somebody else right right. So Yeah, you actually can compete but on up put and precision you can't compete on. Actual defense offense. Of course, you're not going to get him. You know and does like a class look like, is it one on one coaching tailored to me or is it like a big class like pedal tone style or yet is really a group class? So it's you'll have usually the video stream will be divided into not that it's divided on the screen per se but vary between having the camera centered on the coach, and then you're getting bureau that is very dynamic. The camera moves around in the class and focuses on the participants taking the class live at our studio in Newport beach. For for me, you know like me having like an iphone like my supposed to put up my iphone like somewhere like on a on a counter, and then look at it while I'm like punching out on my back or how should I mention it? Yeah. That's a very good question like there's not a lot of people use it only with the with the iphone unless they're traveling aren't as they're actually using it in a gym gym or their apartment Jim the vending most people digging each day my cable upload, the Stream directly on on a big screen. TV. Your accent. Yeah. Oh we have a portion of our users. We actually are doing it on the night pat about Apple TV, that works as well Yeah. You can mirror exactly. You can use apple TV to mirror the the stream directly on a big screen TV as well. That's definitely the best experience you're getting very loud sounds and music. Why Is it Hard to Find Burning Bush in Most Nurseries?
"Carry. Send in a question and she says this year I tried to buy more burning Bush for our yard because I like the fall color but our local nursery has discontinued carrying them. They told us that burning Bush is now considered an invasive plant. Why is this and can you recommend some other plants that will give good fall color? Well, I I. Think I got answer all of that and and let's start with what invasive means burning Bush does not have a flower. That's very conspicuous at all. You have to be looking for it to find it no big deal in the spring. However, the little fruit that set are almost nut like and they drop to the ground or birds eat them to get the well the outside of the little seed head off and so on, and then of course, they make droppings off through the woods and it Cetera most of those seeds are viable and most of them therefore turn into burning Bush burning Bush. Is Most, beautiful to us when it's out in full sun the more sun it gets usually the more red you get. However, it is a denizen of the darker woods and it is much like honeysuckle and probably just a close second from the invasiveness of honeysuckle the wherever, wherever tends either dropped eight or going to become plants, and as they move well as they grow and then repeat the cycle off through the woods. It's actually clogging the floor of the woods that is detracting from our normal natural native plants. So that's that's kind of why it's. Bad I actually many people most people are probably not going to deal with burning Bush thinking. It's still beautiful in the fall. However, I have to compliment on air the nursery garden center, whichever it was that is no longer can handling the plant.
Are all rules supposed to be followed?
"For. This week's episode aren't talk about rules. Every company that ever worked for has rules and the week of Covid nineteen many companies are creating new rules in order to maintain a safe environment from ploys and customers. So season of stranger rules. Why does this matter? I can say from personal experience that I. Don't like rules like at all in recent years of to tone this down a little bit. But I generally believe in asking for forgiveness rather than permission. And I don't mean for everything I just mean if I have a good level of knowledge of what the rules are, how the rules interact with each other, what they're designed to do, and with a potential consequences are for nodded hearing to them I can sometimes we know to take calculated risks and not follow those rules. But I wanNA focus on one specific part of that last sentence, the part about what rules are designed to do. In general, the designed to encourage your insurer specific behavior from employees as it because there's a risk of loss, the potential degrading the brand or in the context of Covid nineteen making sure your environment stay safe. But what specifically are rules is I do? We'll each rule has a different answer. Some of them can be considered more important than others, but each one has a purpose and this is what I want to talk about today. My propensity for breaking rules is not a some attitude that I'm too good for rules or they don't apply to me. It's out of a belief that a large number of rules were written with a specific action or behavior in mind and that applying the rule across the board would actually not be in line with what that rule was actually designed to do. It's a belief that the spirit of rule should always outweigh the rule itself, and this is only possible with a strong understanding of the environment you're in each job Iraq's one another the expected support from any leaders and a proven track record of performance and partnerships. If. You're a leader of people and you have all those things when you see a new implemented aides to feel like your job to investigate why this rule exists in the first place, what you're expected part and upholding it is and most importantly, if you can think of any scenarios following, this rule will actually lead the less desirable outcomes than if you didn't follow it. Very obvious example might be a return policy for purchases without one customers almost definitely take advantage of you but following the rule for everyone with meeting during the individual relationship that exists between your company and your best customers. Anyone can follow rules. It doesn't take much leadership to follow them. What takes leadership is nuance. It's an ability to see what the big picture is, and whether each rule potentially detracts from it because many do. Thanks for listening and have a great day.
