Shooting inside Atlanta building leaves 1 dead, 4 injured
"Police are investigating a deadly shooting inside an Atlanta building. Atlanta police are on the scene of what they describe as an active fluid situation in a building in Atlanta's midtown neighborhood, investigators say one person is dead, and at least four others are injured, but no one is in custody. Police have sent out a photo of the person they believe to be the shooter. Authorities say the suspect is thought to be armed and dangerous. They're asking anyone with information on the person's whereabouts to call 9-1-1. Police are urging people in the area to secure their buildings and shelter in place. I'm Mike Hempen

"Nashville police say the former student who mapped out their plan before attacking a Christian elementary school may have been driven by resentment. Residents gathered at the Belmont United Methodist Church in Nashville Monday night to hold each other up in prayer after a deadly shooting at the covenant school. Metropolitan Nashville police chief John Drake says a suspect who killed three children and three staffers at their former school left evidence that is being reviewed. We have a manifesto. Within the last year, the fed has consistently increased rates with the goal of cooling inflation. Now economists say this week banking troubles in the U.S. and internationally could cause the fed to actually stop rising interest rates. CBS business analyst Jill schlesinger says inflation is still too high and rates she thinks will keep going up, but that's not the only reason. If the fed were to go on pause, there is a question as to whether that would signal to the overall marketplace that they are freaked out about what's going on in the financial system. And I don't think they want to convey that. We will see a quarter percent rise at this week's meeting. If that meantime is not the only institution trying to make sure people are not concerned about the U.S. banking system, that's what one expert, at least, tells WTO P, explaining how and why bank runs actually happened in the first place. It starts with panic about banks not having enough cash and it leads to people pulling their money out. People are nervous when everyone is doing that. It ends up creating the problem you were scared of to begin with. "1123 and a guilty plea tonight in an apparent scheme to smuggle drugs into the D.C. jail, 28 year old D.C. resident kiwan MacLeod, admitted to bribing a public official to get drugs into the jail. Court documents say mccloud was contacted by an inmate to take part in the scheme of cloud package the drugs he gave them to the correctional officer who then got them to the inmate, mccloud also made the bribe payments to the CO. That's all according to court records. The correctional officer and inmate accused in the case are still waiting to go to trial and charged with conspiracy, bribery, and smuggling. Serious charges announced for the parents of an 11 month old baby who died from a fentanyl overdose in fairfax county last year. 19 year old Juan Olivia Ruiz in 23 year old chante artillery phase three felony counts each for the death of their 11 month old who overdosed on fentanyl in June of 2022. The child allegedly found a fentanyl pill on the floor and ate it. Commonwealth's attorney Steve descano says the death of an innocent baby in this case is an unspeakable tragedy, Ruiz artillery were indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter and child cruelty resulting in serious injury. The bill would allow firing squad executions only if Idaho is unable to obtain the necessary drugs for lethal injections. The move was prompted by delays and carrying out several executions because of difficulties in getting the drugs for the injections following a dire climate report UN secretary general Antonio Gutierrez is calling on wealthy countries to move up their goals of achieving carbon neutrality to help the environment. "As another spring break descends on Miami Beach, another curfew is being enforced following two deadly shootings. The curfew was overnight Sunday and mayor Dan gelber says they won another one next weekend. The volume of people in our city, the unruly nature of too many, and the presence of guns has created a peril that can not go unchecked. A deadly Friday night shooting near ocean drive in another in the wee hours of Sunday sent people fleeing gelber says over the past three weeks, 70 firearms were seized. We don't want spring break in our city. It's too rowdy, brings too much disorder, and is simply too difficult to police. Investigators working to establish motives in either of the two deadly shootings but say they too say the two are not connected. Would a sprinkler have made a difference. That is the question in Montgomery county after a 25 year old woman died in a fire at a high rise in Silver Spring last Wednesday. Since then, fire experts, including the state's fire marshal, maintain sprinklers might have made a difference, but the county executive wants them is warning them that wanting them and mandating them are two separate issues. The problem. The property owners don't have the capital to do this on their own. And we don't have the available right now in a state or federal support to help with this transition. And county executive Mark L rich wants to look at ways to get money that would help the 80 buildings still without get the systems. He says if the financial help isn't offered. One of the fears that everybody has is it would definitely impact rents and it could impact rents severely that a lot of people who are barely affording what they have today will not be able to afford the rent increases. "We got two articles that I wanted to read the rapper P and V P and B rock that was murdered. Out in LA at a rosco chicken and waffles. I haven't been able to read that article yet, but I read the first one, maybe I'll go in succession. And start with his first one said LAPD released a photo of the suspect and rapper P and B, rocks killing. Very, very unfortunate, says LAPD investigated named a gentleman named Freddie Lee, trong, and African American men as the suspect in the deadly shooting they believed that he approached the rapper, demanded his jewelry and proceeded to shoot him several times in front of the rapper's girlfriend along with terrified patrons and staff.
