"LeBron. I think that's pretty fair. And I think that that would be a team that would move the ball really well. I think we're pretty much just talking about offense. I mean, I don't know how well this team would guard people. Now we're saying this is most fun. We're not trying. This is how they talk about what was the team with. With Kraft, the Danish team in 1974, that almost won the World Cup and they were like the most fun soccer team ever, but they didn't actually win the World Cup. The sons were like that in the mid two thousands too, I guess. But this team would just be pure fun Nirvana. I'm not sure they would win the title, although maybe they'd score so many points that probably would be running. And there's a thing that kind of here at night we're talking about this on the show today. And it's like, there's winning and then there's the cultural things that just kind of last and live on. It's like, no, the O two kings didn't win. But you ask anybody on earth about the O two kings and they light up. They're like, oh my God, I loved it. And that's the whole point is the fun. And I went through and I was just thinking about Durant was the obvious one. And I kind of landed on that too when I was thinking about like the lineage of because I started thinking about like what if you had like 80 George gervin or like 83 Alex English just to like a guy that could just like really low resting heartbeat, just score, score, score, score. I think on every team you kind of need to have. And I think that's why Durant was so valuable to that team to the warriors and why Kawhi was so valuable to the raptors. You need to have those guys and I texted you this during that king's nuggets game. It's like, when the scheming kind of comes to a gridlock, you need the guys that can go get the big buckets that can go hit tough shots to get you through those dry spells. And I think that's kind of who I would pick in this situation. That's who I would lean towards. But you get that LeBron, you get that in curry. Incredible offensive players, no titles, by decade. Yoga just decade. Hard and last decade, Steve Nash, 2000s. Karl Malone, 1990s. Dominique in the 80s, gervin and mcadoo in the 70s. I hope that's not yoga just destiny. And I do think, I think they have a real chance to make the finals this year. And I think they might actually have the best team in the west. I don't think there's a complete team. So it'll be the team that does their one thing better than everybody else. And they might just be better at offense than anyone else in the west is that anything, especially if you have the warriors as a 7, 8, 9, ten seed with this curry injury. Memphis is starting to look a little worse for wear. Phoenix is a mess. New Orleans can't seem to put three straight weeks together. Clippers can look great when everyone's playing, but who the hell knows is going to be playing. And I think it's sitting there for Denver. And I think jokic is that special. So I'm glad we're able to talk about them. Thanks for staying up late with me Jay Kyle, man. I can't wait to hear people get mad about our most fun team, even though it was completely arbitrary. And came out of a good place. Good to see you though. Thanks for doing this with me. Yeah, thank you. Thanks for having me. All right, the ringers Benjamin solak is here. We usually do this on Thursdays, but he wasn't on last Thursday, and there's so much stuff going on. We're just kind of cramming it in between the two Thursdays here. On Tuesday, I asked you to come up with 5 questions, not just for this weekend. But we have 6 weeks left now. This is a 6 week sprint. Two regular season weeks, four play half weeks. It feels like things are more in flux than ever. It feels like more teams have a puncher's chance of at least making round three than we usually have. Your number one question as we head into this 6 week stretch. This is a little bit. It's a little bit unfair to ask me this because my number one question is going to be one of my weak points, which is, are we supposed to take this charger's team seriously? Seriously, I've done a good job not fully drinking the Kool-Aid to this point. The Chargers are sportswriter catnip. They're bait for all of us. And over the course of this, they've had a three win stretch. They've won four of their last 5. They've had wins over potential AFC playoff teams like Miami and Tennessee. They've played Kansas City twice this year and played them tight, lost by a field goal both times, lost to a patch from the homes game winning drive, both times. They felt like they were on the cusp last year, and then they didn't get it done with all the shenanigans of that raiders game. And now this season, they got the check mark. Two weeks left in the regular season. They got the check mark. This team is going to the playoffs. And when you look at what has improved for them over the last month, you find defensive performance. That which Brandon staley was supposed to fix and fix and didn't initially fix has gotten a lot better. Arjun menon, who's a PFF data analysis, since week ten, this charger's defense is tense in EPA per play loud. Excuse me, since week 8, their tenth in EPA per play allowed. This without Joey Bosa on the field the entire time. They have figured out lose JC Jackson, Michael Davison stepped in and played better. They've gotten Sebastian Joseph day on the field. He's handled the interior for them. Kenneth Murray's playing better. And when Kenneth Murray is playing better, you're doing something right. Great work. And the potential of bringing joy Bosa back into this team means, all right, defensively, they might be what we thought Brandon Seattle could get them to be. Offensively, they're still not what you want in terms of adjusting Herbert offense. We've talked a lot about the structural issues and the Joel Lombardi of it all, but with Keenan Allen back on the field and now more healthy off of his hamstring injury, I refuse to say a 100% because I watched that man trying to turn a corner at the numbers and still go out at the sideline. Yeah, he looks like me. He's just couldn't stop. That was a wide bang for Kenan. So I won't say a 100%, but with him healthier than he's been all season dealing with a hamstring injury and with Mike Williams back from the ankle injury, this offense in this passing game works a lot better than when it was Josh Palmer and Michael bandy and they were just kind of strapping it all together with duct tape prayers and dreams. So I don't know whether or not I should take this charger team seriously or not. I won't figure that out over the next two weeks, right? The charges are don't really have meaningful games that are either going to be the 5th seat of the 16, they're going to play the rams, they're going to play the Broncos. We're not going to learn a lot about them. But they are going to get a beatable Jaguars or Titans team if they end up the 5 seat. If they end up the three seat, they're going to get a really talented Bengals team. And that Jaguar team that they might face killed him in week three. They are going to enter this playoffs with a chance to win their first round game. And I would love to know whether or not I should actually think that's possible. By January, I'm just not sure I'm going to have that information. I had the colts and a tease plus ten and a half last night.

"Thing. They need to, they need to have the lead and then they need to use reminder and David Harris. I actually think ramonda has a chance to be special. Of all the guys in the team I think came in barmore are the two guys. And unfortunately, taekwon Thornton, who was out of control and preseason then got her. But I think those have a chance to be two of the best guys in the team. And I think I feel like that one two punch, especially if they can get a lead early. And I think they'll be able to control the ball a little bit. And the case for this is where they rope it open in a little bit in the preseason. Perhaps extremely worried about the paths. And Patricia said some things, and I know people roll their eyes in the mirror mention a Patricia, but he said some things publicly where he was like, oh, what we were doing in the because I think they had four different runs using that read that new run skate, and they were like for negative yards. And it was like, wait, what the hell are we doing at the running game? This is our strength. Why are we tinkering with this? And Patricia's thing is like, I wouldn't pay much attention to the outcome in preseason. We're just trying to get reps in new looks and put different things on tape. So if you believe that, it means that the preseason means absolutely nothing. And that the training camp, which, you know, really good reporters. Like Mike giardi and these guys who are there today. Yeah, Tom Curran, they were critical. And it's a lot easier to be uncritical than critical when you're a beat reporter guy. It's easy to fans get excited, all that stuff. But they were all critical. Tom and Mike and I think there is something to that. I'm just saying week one, week one, Belichick, a whole month to prepare for tua. And there's a little value because it should be a three point line at three and a half. So plus one 44. And we're thinking raiders teaming them with them. So the Raiders case, it's a team that's built to have a lead. Where you have the two awesome pass rushers, right? And if they get the lead and have the weapons, then I kind of like their chances, the Chargers last year had a habit fall behind. No JC Jackson for this game. Nope. People, I think the Chargers have a ton of talent. The great roster, when I did my elite and almost elite player rankings, like they were in the top three. But their defense last year was bad. I didn't love their coaching last year. I thought it was all over the map. I didn't like some of their fourth time decisions. And this raiders team, which has now become like the stepchild of that division. It's chiefs, it's chargers, and then it's Russell Wilson, and then it's like, oh yeah, the Raiders. It's gonna be a home game. Last time we had a raiders chargers game in LA, it was 50% raider fans, 25% charger fans, 25% of the people didn't care. So from that vantage point, right now it's three and a half, but it's three and a half, there's no home field advantage, so does that mean the Chargers are 6 points better than the raiders? I don't understand that. And I just like the value. We can team the Raiders and pats together and get them at plus 5 20. Which to me looks super tasty for an underdog parlay. What do you have to add? Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels have given you a lot of good moments in your life, Bill. Oh, the bell check McDaniels. Daron Harmon, Jacob Johnson. You want to go right, Patrick Graham at defensive corner. This is patriot southwest. And if you combine them with patriots in the southeast, I think I like this one, but how about Mike Lombardi's son is the author? May I coordinator Mick? Love Mickey. Did he just all kinds of parlay under parlay ties? So many patriots hey Jared Stidham's in that quarterback room, okay? Yeah. There's a lot of patriots blood in that Vegas building, including the GM Dave ziegler. That aside, you know, we do a thing on NFL dot com NFL network, whatever it is. They pull all the on air personalities and all the online writers. And I don't know if it's because the NFL network is based in LA or they get a free tour of the SoFi Stadium or whatever it is. 5 of the 25 people polled chose to chargers. Not to make Super Bowl. To win the Super Bowl this year. There's a team that's gone to the playoffs one time in the last 7 years. I think GM Tom telesco might have the best roster in football. Like pound for pound, you named it. They've built the roster and that guy. And they built it at the right spots. QB pass rusher. Edge rusher tackles. Bosa and Mac coming off the edge. They even added Sebastian Joseph day, who I love, like Nas adderly is really good. Their third receiver, Josh Palmer. Again, fancy might be done like Josh Palmer is going to be a problem this year for the league as the third corner. But until I see it, dude. I can't just crown the Chargers. Not yet. Yeah, I like it. This is a fun one. I like that mcdaniel Belichick Davis Belichick one last time. One last ride. Plus 5 20. Quickly. We'll go with, I'm going to throw this at you and you could talk me out of it. It's plus 5 96 on FanDuel. Jags giants. Jags in Washington. Listen. I think Rivera is going to be the first coach fired. I think Carson Wentz, this is his last rodeo and this will be, he's got 5 career starts left, 8. I don't know, but less than ten. The Washington fans hate their owner more than any fan base hates their owner in any sport right now. There's going to be nobody at this game.

"Obviously Brady responsible a lot of them. Seattle 94, Green Bay 92, Pittsburgh 91, New Orleans 90. There's the only teams that have averaged ten wins for the last 9 years. KC, the tyreek thing, I think, through people off, Kyle turned the TikTok camera. Not the real camera. Should I turn a little TikTok camera? TikTok. I think there's a lot of curry 2022 warriors parallels here. Talk about where it's like, in a way, this team makes more sense for mahomes, the same way that 22 warriors just building it around him and just all these guys who knew how to play with them. I love tyreek hill for the chiefs. I respected him. I feared him. I thought he was one of the most incredible deep threats. He terrified teams. He tilted the field. He won games. He won. He won games, the Chargers. He won that game. I'm also a results guy. You know, he played three playoff games last year at 285 yards, three touchdowns. In the regular season. 1239 yards, 9 touchdowns. You can replace 80 to 90% of those stats. If I'm the chiefs, I would much rather have the money in the offensive line and protect my homes and give him time and I can find receivers. We're in like the receiver boom of all time right now. Confine receivers and running backs all over the place. And I think that's I just like how they tilted the structure how now they're going to run the ball more, which is going to make it a little easier for mahomes to find seams downfield versus the way it was before. And I'm in. I think this is the best team. The communication lines in that building are wide open. So anyone can walk into anyone's office and it's a very open place and I will tell you that Patrick Mahomes was not shocked when they traded tyreek hill. Patrick Mahomes was not finding it out from a tweet. Patrick Mahomes does not finding it out from a bottom line ticker. So I assume there were conversations had. And like, hey, here's our plan. Just so you know, this is what we're doing. And I'm sure mahomes is like, gosh, that sucks. Yeah, but what did they find? We'll be okay. We'll figure it out. And they may regret trading him, but to get all those first round picks to add, I mean, we talked about Nick Bolton, this car laughed this, this rookie who is, you know, he was playing water polo in Greece less than a decade ago. He's a first round pick out of Purdue. He's been amazing this training campaign. He's a rookie. Well, that's another, that's another thing for the case with them. You have that one good draft heading into the next season on top of the talent. It seems like they crushed a draft. They crushed your app every year and Brett veach runs one of the best front offices. And it's like, you add car lap this, you add mcduffie, the corner that they got out of Washington, they've got players, Pacheco is going to play a role. Sky Moore is going to play a role. And my whole point is, this is not one of those deals where mahomes is going to feel like his hand is tied behind his back. They love tyreek and to a man. Everyone in that building wishes nothing but the best for him. But he wanted $30 million. They weren't going to be paying him that. And he turns 30 soon. They weren't going to, you know, and you could argue that they're cutting their losses at the absolute perfect. It's tyreek hill going to be better this year. I don't know. I would imagine it's a long shot to say he's going to put up better numbers and be a better player with the Miami Dolphins. What's with the chiefs? Okay. We're aligned. There are ten to one win the Super Bowl in FanDuel. They are plus 6 50 to be the number one seed in the AFC. Which I thought was a fun bet and they are plus one 55 to win the division. Which I think the ads may be dropped, maybe that's like plus one 50 now, but to me, it's Denver, the Chargers and we might as well do the Chargers now. Everyone's in on the charger. Everyone's. Does that scare you? Is your hand shaking as you pass the flag? What do you do? What do you do with the Chargers? Colin coward, I was watching his show. He has the Chargers of the third team out of 32 in the NFL. Chargers have made the playoffs once in the last 9 years. Justin Herbert for all his wonder and his greatness has not been to the playoffs yet. This is year three. They added players on defense. They have a very good team, but I'm going to wait and see. I'm not putting all my chips on the Chargers and I'm not saying I don't believe in staley or I'm not saying that. I don't think that they can get it done in a big spot because Herbert hasn't done it before. Herbert can do it. He will do it. Herbert was amazing in that week 18 game against the Raiders. They're 17 times in the final drive and got them to overtime. Herbert, not a problem. But that's a funky thing, man. And to suddenly crown the Chargers before they can even get over the hump, just based on Khalil Mack and JC Jackson a couple acquisitions. I'm not going there yet. I haven't seen it in the big spots yet and they lose too many games and too many weird ways for me to suddenly say the bad juju's gone. And the coaching thing last year was a real issue for them. First of all, stale is a defensive coach. The defensive way they were getting torched for most of the season. Not a great sign. But then the end of the game stuff, the fourth and short stuff was alarming. I actually think that team probably cost themselves more success. Than any other team last year, there may be Minnesota. Well, we celebrated that stuff early. Like they beat KC in KC and we were like, holy shit, I love this code. And then they play the Chargers on a Thursday night game. I play the chiefs on Thursday night game late in the season. I remember, we were on $1 million picks all in on the chiefs for big. And the charter skip going for it on fourth and weren't converting and we were like, we're alive. And then mahomes will take care of it from there. I've spoken to Brandon a bit this off season, like he knows he's a defensive coach and what happened last year on defense was unacceptable. And that's part of the reason they went not only got JC Jackson, who's excellent and Khalil Mack, who's finally healthy, but also this Sebastian Joseph day, the big man inside from the rams who, not a huge name, and played next to Aaron Donald, but it's a really good player. They believe that they've addressed it on paper, but I gotta see it.

"And his wife were sitting together and we're talking for a while and his whole thing was like, Herbert is like, but the defense is what they focus on all off season. And you actually Mac and JC Jackson and the Sebastian Joseph day. It's like they felt like they got three really good players to add to a defense that was getting better down the end. Chargers as a sleeper team is an annual tradition, but you can't call them a sleeper team this year. They're on the ring. Did you see their first 5 games? What do we got? Home Las Vegas, so there will be no, I'm sure it'll be some radar fans there or whatever. At Kansas City on a Thursday night, four days later. The first Amazon game, let's go. Tough one. Oh no, you're a girl's not on that show. Jacksonville, home, at Houston, at Cleveland. If you can't be four in one, or three, I mean, that's the schedule you want. That's that feels like four in one. That Thursday, week two, Kansas City can stay down a Thursday night that always some weird shit happens. Chargers will be like a 6 point underdog, maybe four point underdogs. They beat them last year there. But that feels like that could be a 5 and O and then their home Denver home Seattle by week, it's really stacked. Then you go through the rest of it at Atlanta. It could definitely get harder the second half of the season, but their first half, pretty good schedule for them. So yeah, I think my fear for them is I think a lot of people are going to be on that wagon. And they will be taking my dough home field advantage. It's a team that had a coach that did some of the strangest things we've seen in a few years last year. And you know, I just, I would hesitate to just go to nuts on them. Sure. But I do like them. I like them too. And then you look at the division and we did this on good morning football Bill. What team would you predict is in last place the AFC west, I mean, you're just by default, have to go with the Raiders. Yeah, even the Broncos having not made the playoffs in 7 years, just the Russell factor. The Raiders added Devante and Chandler Jones. No, I worry about it. The top heavy part with the Raiders. When you have those rosters, we had the 7 guys, but you start listing 30. Yeah, they missed a lot of draft picks the last few years. So I'd worry about that. I think the chiefs are an interesting could see them taking a step back team. It's by far the most fun division this year. It's such a big case either way for each team. I was in Kansas City too, and I was speaking with their general manager and he was going through their wide receiver room and is one of the most innovative guys. He's like, we have Justin Watson, who not everyone knows who that is, but he was on the Buccaneers practice while he came in and played really well in mini camp. We have Justin Ross. This kid is undrafted out of Clemson is coming off an injury. He played really well. They've got 12 wide receivers that are going to be vying for about 6 spots. And at no point did it feel like they're losing sleep on the tyreek hill thing. And as tyreek hill is doing podcasts and comparing to mahomes like they've already flipped the page and the rest of us on the media are like, well, the tyreek hill thing, I feel like they've already said, okay, we'll just have to change our offense a little bit and we'll be just fine and the chiefs a little more ready. Yeah, and for them to not be the hunted, but to be the hunters, that's a scary prospect too. He got through the odds on fandom

"Let's take a look at your top 5. And we'll start with the 15 here, Greg. We've got the Chargers, the charges, of course, they have a lot of talent led by Justin Herbert, dude is a stud at quarterback. Why do you have them at 5? So I think that the GM there did a tremendous job of sort of plugging their holes. And they have, they've had offensive line issues. They couldn't stop the run worth of damn last year. Now, they are putting a lot into Sebastian Joseph day, who's a good player. They're still thin beyond him on the defensive interior, but they added Khalil Mack to go on the opposite side of Joey Bosa. Now Mac isn't the same guy that he used to be, but with a better surrounding cast and a guy like Joey Bosa, taking a lot of attention away. That should make him even better. I mean, it's very similar to like bond Miller going to whether he was in LA last year with Aaron Donald or now he's in Buffalo, they have Rousseau and some other guys that sort of can take attention away and those aging sort of pass rushers can still get the job done with a better supporting cast. And I think they can do that. To me, I still worry a little bit about their offensive line. And but to me, Nick, and I don't know how you feel about it. But to me, this is going to be a total indictment one way or the other. It's going to be a judgment on Brandon staley as a head coach. I thought that at times he was overwhelmed last year. I think that sometimes he makes decisions just to prove how smart he is. And it's not in the best interest of the team. And maybe last year he had it built in excuses about, you know, we needed to go for for this reason, you know, we're short here. We're short there. What have you. But now, the way they are right now and fully healthy and with Justin Herbert, who I still think, look, I think the world is Justin Herbert. I was dead wrong on him coming out of college. He spectacular. Now, he doesn't want to play off game yet.

"Wow. Both the offenses and the defenses in this division are sick and who comes out of it. Honestly, big winner in this trade buffalo, because buffalo is just going to sit in the AFC and okay, maybe the pages will be good. I'll get that in from the top. But buffalo get a sit in the SE. They're going to be able to make the playoffs. They're not going to play this murderer's runway. They're going to get to January a lot fresher after these 14 absolutely beat up on each other for the whole season. Well, in Buffalo is also a big winner because it just appears like the Pats might be throwing away the season. They're just losing starters and not getting back really anybody at all. I'm trying to figure out who plays the AFC west this year. I've been south play some, which means we're going to watch Jacksonville play all of these themes and all of these scenes. And I don't know which NFC division it is. It isn't the east because I know the eagles don't have them. So it could be what it could be one of the middle ones and so we have for on fandor right now. Casey is plus one 35 to win the AFC west. Chargers plus two 60, Denver plus three ten in Vegas is 5 to one. I don't know, man. I feel like those teams should be more closely bunched together. I don't really even think there's a favorite right now. Because each team has a hole that I would like with the Chargers, I don't know if I trust their coach at all. I don't know if I trust boasts it to stay in the field. Denver, who knows with Wilson, new team, who knows how that goes. Vegas? You know, they lost a lot of draft capital with some of the guys that went south over the last couple of years. Casey, this is going to be year 5 of a run, usually these runs are three to four years. So I don't know, who do you have as the favor right now? Right. It's really tough. I think the Raiders should be forced just because like you brought up, they've got a lot of work to do and rebuilding that roster, the secondary, really, really bad line is really really bad. I love what they did. I think they're going to win some shootouts, right? You remember the Raiders of 2020 who played chiefs in two shootouts. And I think I know the game in one. They might have been number two. I think they'll have that. I'm not sure they'll have more than that. So maybe they're a squirrelly wild card team. After that, I think that your Broncos are a kick below. There are one B, find the Chargers in the cheap. And right now I have chargers division winning tickets. The charges without an incredible free agency period. They have a guy in Justin Herbert, who I think is above Russell Wilson has been supported back here. I think the DCC's just got bob. I think he's in that elite here. So I got something like plus, I want to say like three 50, I think it was like right after the Wilson trade, they kind of had a dip in it and I bought them there, but after the Mac trade, getting JC Jackson in the building, Sebastian Joseph day, who ran a sailing nose, will make a system work. I like the Chargers at value to win that division. I think the chiefs and the Chargers are kind of your one a, Broncos right there is a one B and the Raiders are a clear force, but y'all got it that are good for us. Well, if you go fun rankings, all four of those teams are in the are in the fun top ten. So is buffalo? Dallas, the rams, the bucks, that might be like, that might be your 7 and maybe the Bengals will see, we'll see what they add. The beggars were more impressive than fun. I wouldn't call them like a barrel of laughs at times. But yeah, I think the niners miners might be up there in the fun ranking. 'cause like rookie quarterback can be fun, like it could be exciting when they're good. Ravens if Lamar is healthy, but that's kind of like a question mark. But no, I think that's your yes, all.

"Says. I think it would be naive for us not to prepare for them to be able to utilize fields in some form or fashion key. How likely is it. We see the bears rookie at all during week. One i don't think you will But sean mcveigh's right you gotta prepare. You gotta prepare for everybody hill. They gotta prepare for nick. Foles they if you are. Coaching attention to detail is extremely important. You wanna make sure that everything. All the boxes are checked. You don't leave any stone and turn it in this situation. I don't think justin feels plays Because let's assume andy dalton it's getting run out the building. The rams are it's twenty eight ten and they don't look like they're doing anything offense. You're not going to all of a sudden throw him in there. You might as well if nick foles as active. You might as well put nick foles in if you choose to do. So if the game is titan colts you. Don't you're not gonna pull out andy dalton put him in so i don't see him playing week one and it's not because the rams are supposed to have this great defense even know when i look at their defense defense. I'm not afraid of them. When the defense coordinators raheem morris and he's new calling the rams defense and you don't have the players that you had in the past outside of aaron donald maybe Sebastian joseph day and then jalen ramsey. I mean i know. Leonard floyd is there but it's not the same defense as we saw way phillips or even a year ago jay. I want you to listen to what matt nagy said at the bears press conference on september six and react to listen to matt nagy we understand and we all understand that the passion and the excitement that that we wanna see from justin and i think probably the biggest thing mark is for myself. Our coaching staff Ryan everybody included that when we get together and we talk about what our plan looks like and we play out scenarios This isn't you know. Sometimes you can get caught up in emotional decisions and so i think that's where Myself i have to be really strong there and understand the why. Okay i respect. I respect the latter part of that comment max. Sometimes you get to play out scenarios because you can't always go go. According to plan life doesn't go according to the plan. So if you're playing out can we start talking about week. Two versus the bengals for justin fields. Because i feel like. I'm gonna see the andy dolan got his head cracked in when he was behind that line for the dallas cowboys. I'm going to watch the same thing happened against the los angeles. Rams chicago's online is just as bad as what was last year right. So if you're talking about. Hey this first game. If andy dolan they start getting blitz who knows maybe they might be in a game but these are getting blitz and he starts getting really hard. I still know. I wanna see. Justin feels that game. Maybe i really see nick. Foles net game. And i'd rather have a game. It's easier for justin fields to grow into the same kind of pressure like the rams cabrera suggested before the draft key that they trade up to get justin fields if he was available. Because i'm forty eight years old. I've never the bears have never had a great quarterback in my lifetime. Almost half century never jay cutler is probably a top three quarterback in that franchise history in my lifetime. They have to get this right like they got to. The offensive line is terrible right. trubisky could outrun. the linebackers. Couldn't throw it down. The field falls down the field with a clean pocket. There's never a clean pocket. Fields can take the best of both but to me. I don't wanna start the season with him behind that line if don't have to key. What are your thoughts about when we see just in fields you know. It's not even about the line. Because i understand a little bit about how an office and i can look to certain people in preseason based on. Who's underneath the center. If you're looking at the line in quarterbacks holding the ball or they're looking at something from an offense align protection scheme standpoint where they're not they're protections don't add up or coincide with what they wanna do from an offense Passing game or running game system. They're looking at things and then going into the regular season they completely changed. So i kind of understand that. That's why i'm not like all going crazy about the offense align right this minute in terms of your original question. I don't know win you win. You play him. I think you as a veteran in the locker room. He if he gives us the best chance to win before gets away from us. Then you claim is that we three is a week four or three and two or three and three in the offense is in moving the way we thought it was much like if you go back to. When kurt warner was benched for ally manning. The offense wasn't going anywhere so tom. coughlin made a decision. Yeah that's interesting. In other words justice fields as qb one. Now but you don't start him on less. If the season's getting away from you then you gotta go to even. It's maybe a little earlier than like. I think that's right by the way. Is wilson look quarterback the blessed john. Thanks for listening to kisangani. Well and max the podcast check the guys out live weekday mornings from six to ten eastern on espn radio..

"Sean McVeigh Says. I think it would be naive for us not to prepare. For them to be able to utilize fields in some form or fashion. See how likely is it? We see the Bears rookie at all. During week one. I don't think you will. But Sean McVeigh's right. You've got to prepare. You gotta prepare for everybody. Hell, they got to prepare for Nick Foles. They if you are coaching attention to detail is extremely important. You want to make sure that everything all the boxes are checked. You don't leave any stone unturned And in this situation, I don't think Justin Fields plays. Um, because let's assume Andy Dalton It's getting run out the building. The Rams are it's 28. 10. And they don't look like that. They do anything on offense. You're not going to all of a sudden throw him in there. You might as well if Nick Foles is active, you might as well put Nick Foles in if you choose to do so. If the game is tight and coast You don't. You're not going to pull out Andy Dalton and put him in. So I don't see him playing week one. And it's not because the Rams are supposed to have this great defense, even though when I look at their defense, I'm not afraid of him. Um Matt Nagy said that the Bears, uh Press conference on September 6th. And react to it. Listen to Matt Nagy. We understand And we all understand that the passion the excitement that that we want to see from Justin and I think probably the biggest thing Mark is for myself. Our coaching staff. Ryan. Everybody included that when we get together and we talk about what our plan looks like, and we play out scenarios, this isn't you know, sometimes you can get caught up and emotional decisions. So I think that's where myself I have to be really strong there and understand the why. Okay, I respect that. I respect the latter part of that comment, Max. Sometimes you have to play out scenarios because you can't always go go according to the plan, Life doesn't go, according to the plan. So if you're playing out scenarios Can we start talking about week two versus the Bing Gal's for Justin Fields because I feel like I'm going to see the Andy Dalton like got his head cracked in when he was behind that old line for the Dallas Cowboys. I'm going to watch the same thing happened. Against the Los Angeles Rams. Chicago's Olen is just as bad as what Dallas is was last year. Right? So if you're talking about Hey, this first game if Antigone, they start getting blitz, who knows? Maybe it might be in the game, but these are getting blitz and he starts getting hit really hard. I still don't know if I want to see Justin Fields in that game. Maybe I really see Nick Foles in that game, and I'd rather have a game. It's easier for Justin Fields, too. Grow into. Yeah, not with the same kind of pressure like the Rams could bring. I suggested before the draft key that they trade up to get Justin Fields if you is available, because I'm 48 years old. Have never the pairs have never had a great quarterback in my lifetime. Almost half century. Never, like you know, Jay Cutler is probably a top three quarterback of that franchise is history in my lifetime. They have to get this right like they got to, And the offensive line is terrible, right? Robiskie could outrun the linebackers couldn't throw it down the field falls can throw it down the field with the clean pocket. There's never a clean pocket fields can take the best of both. But to me, I don't want to start the season with him behind that line. If I don't have to key, what are your thoughts about when we see Justin Fields? You know, it's not even about the line because I I understand a little bit about how an officer line can look to certain people in preseason based on who's underneath the center. If you're looking at the lie in the quarterbacks holding the ball, or they're looking at something from an offensive line protection scheme standpoint, where they're not. They're protections. Don't add up or Cohen site with what they want to do from an offensive, uh, passing game or running game system. They're looking at some things and then going into the regular season. Some Tom Coughlin made a decision. Yeah, that's interesting. In other words, Justin Fields as QB one now, but you don't start. Um, Unless if the seasons getting away from you, then you got to go to him, even if it's maybe a little earlier than you'd like. I think that's right. By the way is Zach Wilson, the rookie quarterback in the best position to succeed Keyshawn J..

"Now they did beat the Rams twice last year. They did get a split against Arizona. And they did wind up losing to Seattle twice, But I mean everything we're saying if Aaron Donald has a Nick Bosa type injury, then then everything I'm saying is on hold or if they lose Jalen Ramsey. They've also lost their D coordinator Brain and Staley. They're going to use Jalen Ramsey in the same way with that star position and move them around and move him in the slot. They, You know they're there would've Stafford gets hurt. I mean, Jimmy got hurt. What if they lose Whitworth? I mean, you know what words retire? There's a lot of things that could happen, but I think right now and I the 40. Niners have not started their off season yet, so I'm not gonna make any negative evaluate. Any of them is far but the Rams and what they did. Tell me where they're weak, and I don't know what else they have to do. Except bring back you know, it's the secondary, which I think they'll find a way to do. I think that we let Leonard Floyd go. I mean, you never know in a pandemic. You know how much money is she gonna get with the economics down? I think they may let him go. Could they bring him back and a shorter term deal? He played? Well, there is some conjecture how well he Place and, you know, forcing the run back inside. I thought he was good at it, actually, but I've heard reports of people didn't like He's obviously great pass rusher. That he played much better. They got him for one year. $10 million approve a deal. We'll see what they do. But I don't know what else they're going to doom or they're still gonna draft and they're gonna be involved. But they're solid and wide receiver room is solid outside and rumors solid. Their offensive line two solid again the way they rebuilt that so fast is impressive. They're running backs. They got a three man committee. They got a quarterback. It can start. John Woolford proved that he's a capable backup now. Maybe didn't play long enough. You know, naked night after his November the first game of 18 against the Raiders, we thought he was the second coming and then you wind up playing more. And you know, you see why you're in the situation You're in and you're in the alliance of American football, But Walford looks like He's a player. Then they got the young linebackers. You know, on the front it Sebastian Joseph Day and Rockers MacDonald. They're They're good if they bring back the panel, and Williams and Johnson Or at least two of those three One corner and keep Johnson I don't know, John. They're dirt have a glaring weakness. Now we the 40. Niners haven't started. Seattle's gonna be Seattle. Arizona's gonna, You know, he's just started the off season, but I don't know what else less need is looking at when he looks at his team. And he doesn't have any draft picks forever. So how is he going to do it? But they're pretty solid. See why I can't see a weakness on the ramp team Right now. Texan is wide open. Give us a thought. Give us your thoughts on the Ford matters. Not getting Stafford on the room's getting staffer on who you'd like to see behind center. By the way, this is it's amazing. He just mentioned the pics. So 2017 they traded that was part of the golf deal in 17, the Pats. They got Brandon cooks and 18. They traded out of the first round of the Falcons in 19. 20 in 21 was for Ramsey to the Jags and 22 23 are both traded the lines and Stafford deal, so they're going to go from 2016 when they drafted golf. To at least 2024 without a first round pick. And remember George Allen of the Redskins used to trade a lot of first round picks. But I don't know if any teams ever gone eight years between first round picks. That's what they're looking at in the history of American sport. And in the end Battat stepping in Cleveland, the brief owner there he was out of his mind. You know, he traded the Lakers James Worthy the first pick in the draft. When they were the defending champion. So they put the Stepien rule in showing almost put. I don't know. If it's the less need rule, because he was there, which have Fisher before McVeigh came on, or Stand cranky rule. I think a little bit is just l, a the owners of a zillionaire and he's impetuous. And you just don't mean any other franchise would not just throw away first round draft picks like this, but A mistake. I mean, you could justify doing it for Ramsey and I remember you and I criticize the hell out of them for giving up to one's for Ramsey, and I'm not sure I'd even do that. To be honest with you, but they did it. But the real heir they made add up all the draft capital They have essentially burned. And the whole Jared Goff is in L. A Ram for five years. Deal what they what they did to trade up from 15 overall to number one overall to get him. And then what they had to include to dump him after if they were never in the Jared Goff business. How many of those draft picks were they still have? No. Exactly. It's crazy. Yeah, it is. It is crazy. By the way, I'm reading a story on a guest when McVeigh called golf very icy that, according to Mike Sweeney told me got traded Very icy, he said. Kind of like golf, Snow driveway. Ellen Parker, Grosse Pointe, How'd you get a deal? It is his father's probably has less if there was any way Jerry doesn't like because I was always critical of Jared Goff. But Guy grew up in Marin went to Cal and played in L. A. He have any advice about Detroit for him, too? Yeah. You know what It's like to be in that kind of weather. I mean, you just You have to embrace it. You have to make friends with it. You can't fight it, cause it goes on forever. You'll get snow until April there and you just gotta Hey, layer up. That's all there is and they've got they've got a great facility. He's never gonna have to go outside because they've got two great football fields in that facility. It's a beautiful facility and Alan Park Don't have to go outside if the weather's bad, but yeah, it's you know what it's like living in the east. I mean, it's just I like it. I would mind. Yeah. "Home for the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl 55. 33 ball game. 4 36 remaining in this first quarter on the Rams will kick off the leak. Taylor the first year man from Ferris state, the deep man to our right, moving from right to left of the Packers. Waiting the kickoff. From the Rams Matt game who approaches it drives his right leg through the kick spiraling end over end towards the goal line and one yard deep. Taylor will bring it out over to the left side of the tent Taylor to the 15 a little hesitation, and Taylor's wrestled down just across the 15 yard line had a chance to down it in the end zone. Instead, a 16 yard return will put the Packers inside their own 20 to start this possession, and that's part of that. Hidden yardage, and that's not so much hidden because we all saw it. But you can take that ball and let it go past you Let it go into the end zone and you've got a chance to start a 25 year old Lockwood Aaron Rodgers rather be at the 25 as opposed to the 16. I think the answer is affirmative. Running back is Jamal Williams. First time we've seen him in the game, one of those three running backs that the Packers will rotate through there in Jones getting the ball to the carries. On first down from the 16 Williams, who gets the call. Williams tries the right side and runs right into the open arms of Sebastian Joseph Day, who throws him to the turf of the 19 Yard line after a pick up of three. Don't miss all the NFL excitement on NBC.

"Of Michael Braugher's after the two yard gain. Makes the tackle for the Rams and the defense for the Rams. Michael Bracher, Sebastian Joseph Day and Aaron Donald along that three man front. Samson Ever calm and Leonard Floyd, the outside backers Kenny Young and Troy reader, the inside backers Troy Hill and the Excellent Jalen Ramsey a corner. John Johnson, the third and Jordan Fuller hologram safety, second down and eight of the 34 Yard line. Rogers in the gun with three receivers to his left, leaning in on his left foot awaiting the shotgun snap is Adam's emotion from left to right. Shot and snap comes in letter high. Rogers throws right side Adam's catching a 40 yard line and nudged out of bounds by Troy Hill at the 42 Yard line. Should be a first down for the Green Bay Packers. You know, when you started to introduce Aaron Rodgers it sound like you were introducing a heavyweight. Champion and on that last play champion, the Green Bay Packers kind of outline how this game is gonna work. They lined up three receivers on the left the Monte Adams, the inside receiver, He went in motion away from jail and Randy, so he's working his jab to start the Performance so far. Packers offense has scored 13 times this year on their opening possession, nine touchdowns. Four field goals, have a first down and give up the middle toe. AJ Dylan, on the rookie from Boston College, burst forward for nine and its second one is he nudges the football to the Rams, 49. AJ Dylan. Some eyebrows were raised when he was drafted in the second round, but you could see this big body. It's something that Defensive backs don't like to tangle with what's the temperatures get a little cooler because it's like trying to bring down a refrigerator that's rolling downhill at you. How often does a refrigerator rolled downhill it you well so far, once in the ball game second, one of the 49 yard line on its Jones, who gets to carry on the left side, and Jones, brought down by brokers of the first down yardage of the 46 yard line, picks up three to move the chains and the Packers, who have averaged more rushing yards per game this year. Since the 2013 season. It's been ineffective run game, they get another first down on the ground. You know, you would think that the Packers would be a team that just rolled up yard after yard after yard. They were fifth in total yardage, eighth and rushing, ninth and passing. You know, those numbers are in the top 10. But the thing that they did better than anybody else. They scored points, so even they're not in the red zone. But once they crossed midfield, they're thinking about scoring points on first down, Rogers three step drop those right side caught at the 40 yard line. Making a man Milson out of bounds of the 34 yard line goes Mark West. Valdas Scant. Ling picks up 12 on that first down toss from Aaron Rodgers and another Packer, first down. I made this note on my heat who helps carry the bucket. We know that heavy lifting a lot of times during the regular season was done by the bank by Davante Adams. But who else is going to step forward? Is it gonna be Robert Tanyon is gonna be Aaron Jones. Alan, those are we saw about this canceling on that play right there. The Great Snatch and run those down attendance 34 yard line Jones or Motion out with Davante Adams to the left of the line. Empty backfield. Rogers from the gun for Man ran Russ Rogers in trouble dances away throws and it's off the hands off Equity Mia ST Brown, who was crossing.
