"Jake Myers finished two for five with a home run and four RBIs the Houston Astros used a six run second inning to increase their lead in the American League west a five and a half games with eleven to win over the Seattle Mariners my respect that three run Homer in that second inning to put the Astros up five nothing I think it's big I mean it's always good to get up big early and just kind of keep an eye on him especially in a series like this in our division let the colors junior college to career high in wins with his eleventh holding Seattle to two runs over six innings the loss ends the mariners five game winning streak and it keeps them three games back for the AL's second wildcard Adams pulling Houston

"Have told you so. Let the speculation began. Actually if you haven't started the speculation while you're late to the party because already projected roster's team. Canada are popping up all over the internet. The chance to look over a few. I was curious to see if people i respect in. The hockey world have included before vat on their canadian roster. The early findings are mixed. I will say that much most. Have the next captain as an honorable mention or one to keep an eye on is as you do matt. Chris johnson of sports net. He's a no when it comes to herat. Ryan kennedy the hockey news. He's a yes but with hormuz. Bettas winger sean. Lahey of nbc. Sports left home office roster altogether as did the staff at the athletic look. I don't need to tell hockey fans in this market. What bo horvat is capable of bud being a good player or even a really good player may not be enough to make the best hockey team in the world. I certainly think that will be on that long. Lists that you mentioned of players considered by the hockey candidate brain trust but when always said and done and the final roster is selected adjust. Don't think corvette is going to make the grade. I think the world of award. And i think he could help any team that he plays on. But when you look at the options. It's hard to see him. Earning a spot down the middle when hockey canada brass has mcdavid mckinnon crosby. Berge run point o'reilly qatari in barzel as options to play center ice. And if you're moving out to the wing or you're asking them to play out of position. I think for that to happen in him to make the olympic team. You'd have to be considerably better than the natural when your options that canada's going to have and i don't see that happening connects fans know that vat is a faceoff beast. In fact only sidney crosby took more face offs in the nhl last season and only four guys one more draws then horford. Did the problem is the three of those guys are crosby berge on riley. So one of big weapons doesn't set him apart from the competition for this team. Canada now if that killed penalties and you mentioned that that might tip the scales in his favor if he had a specialty that he did so much better than anyone else then sure of the guys in charge a team. Canada might take a good long look but bore at doesn't kill penalties at the nhl level. So he sure as hell isn't going to be asked to do it. In a short form high stakes tournament like the olympic games. Hormone is a world class talent that has met every challenge put in front of them head on in his time in the nhl. He's a leader and a team guy through and through his co. chewable and dependable and i'm sure would be willing to do whatever was asked of him in order to be a part of the canadian team heading to beijing. I also expect that. He'll use the notion of making that olympic team as a carrot to have to first half of the season for the vancouver canucks ultimately though when that final roster is said. I think it's going to be a no go for bo with the upside..

"Of feeling yes and save for me. Randy johnson has like just such a special place in my heart. I feel like you can't leave him off because like i said the role that he played on that team in those playoff runs like he was a twenty game winner in ninety seven when the mariners made the playoffs again he was an all star that season he was also an all star. Ninety three ninety four ninety five won the cy young award ninety five and like he didn't strike fear or king felix did not strike the feared two batters. That randy johnson did. Hey now that's that's the one hundred percent true. There's because again. Are you with that. Because i feel like with with king felix a nervousness of you. Know what's gonna come but you still can't hit both randy johnson. This guy might have a screw loose. I don't know where the ball's gonna come. He probably doesn't know where it's going to come. And i don't know if it's going to be one hundred. Three mound are fastball over. It's going to be in ninety. Nine are slider. Yep you know so like there was like a physical fear put into batters that very few other patriots have had course of over the course of a lifetime. He threw his first. No no in nineteen ninety cy young award winner ninety five and four thousand. Eight hundred seventy five strikeouts. That's strikeout nine of ten point six. Yeah he also had one thousand nine one thousand four hundred ninety seven walks which is pretty good for a guy with those kind of control issues and you know just shy at seven feet tall. Yeah yeah that was. One thing that i thought was funny that that yes the ball is coming out of his hand at one hundred plus because he's stepping halfway to the to the plate and he had he had a unique motion. You know a lot of guys have their arm at ninety degrees when they throw but he had that three quarter arm slot cocked. Where was yeah. Yeah it was like a sling. Coming out of there where yeah especially. Since armor so long for left handed batter the ball is starting four feet behind. You then have to swing back across the plate. Everything feels like it's coming at you at that point. Yeah yeah so as long as mustaches. And his mullet. That moore was males. But he just wouldn't been stockcar. That's the only difference. Exactly exactly the one problem. I have with randy. Johnson is that he went into. And i don't blame him for this. He went into the hall of fame as a diamondback as an arizona diamondbacks and you know he. He had good years in arizona. He won a world series of the diamondbacks. So i totally get that. They always wish that he had gone in as a mariners because he had he was so dominant in those years. But you know i can. I could see it because he was one. Two three four five time all star with the diamondbacks last time was when he was forty so it is what it is whatever. It's fine he's he's my he's the fourth guy. My mount rushmore. That's pretty good man i. I can't argue with you As far as not picking king felix. What i can do is tell you that you've left out. Arguably the most important personality in the entire franchise off your mount rushmore. Oh.

"Welcome back baseball family now. During the break brandon. I had a little bit of an exchange happenings. Very exciting. I said rather boldly that i believe i know who his number three and number four picks will be. I also told him that. I think are number. His number three in my number two which has yet to be revealed are the same but that our number fours are going to be different so in an effort to preserve the integrity of our little experiment. I told brad has said. Look i'm gonna. I'm gonna send you a text message with my guesses because he's like prove it. No i can't then you'll cheat and i said well so you so. I texted him. Got time stamp on it. He's not looking at his phone. We're very excited to bring you this very exciting more for us than anything else. So we'll see what happens but okay my number two since we've gone out of order. My number two. Pick for the seattle mariners. Mount rushmore is ichi. Row suzuki k. That is my number three. Yes yes oh. I'm halfway there baby halfway okay. Who okay. so now suzuki kate. Let's go context here. When a player comes from japan. It's not always a done deal. You can have a terrific career in japan and be lights out just be automatic and then you can come to major league baseball and things. The wheels fall off right it just a few players that pulled off successfully but there's only one player that's done it way. suzuki has. it's just insane. So he has with seattle from two thousand one to two thousand and twelve short break. Well i mean six years is not short and then two thousand eighteen twenty nineteen came back right. Well yeah twenty. I mean if that's what you wanna call it. I mean he played fifteen games in twenty eighteen and then he played two games in that japan series and twenty nineteen so basically he came back Ceremoniously during that time. But we've got a good ten years out of him for yes yes. He's the all time leader in hits. With twenty five forty two for the mariners. Four hundred thirty eight stolen bases also leads that category and he has the highest career batting average. Three twenty one across the entire franchise history now. The team was inaugurated. What nineteen seventy. Seven yeah houser. Initial season so That's that's not a tremendous amount of history to top. But it is nothing. It's it's nothing to shake a stick at at three twenty one career leading the franchise with at least ten years. That's pretty good Well and we did see that there is that staff came across On the on the nine plus group..

"That was like two weeks. It's like the last month of the season in chicago. A lot of people forget about that number seventeen with the white sox playing right field at the agent. What do you think about. It tells you your thoughts on the kid. Well so i mean you hit the nail on the head transcended baseball. You know the iconic backwards at the most beautiful swing. We have ever seen to date. I don't know of anybody who has kind of them. And cody bellinger. You could see kind of tries to mimic it. A little bit One time i noticed. His stance is very similar to griffey's He's changed it up since then His swing is a little bit in that direction. But i think that might just be. Because he's a lefty But i think you can see. There are some inspiration drawn there which is obvious. You know the kid who grew up in an mlb clubhouse but i mean griffey had influence over an entire generation of fans the only other guy can think of who had that kind of influence was michael jordan and their contemporaries playing in the midnight in the nineties early two thousands for sure their contemporaries and and you know as like my you know every day every kid playing baseball wanted to be like griffey And you know one thing that. I don't know how well known. This is about. His influence on the game is that griffey is his approaching. Bud selig is the reason that a they have. Jackie robinson day where everybody wears number forty two and also the reason. The jackie robinson's number is is retired across major league baseball. That's right ken. Griffey junior had that idea brought it to bug the but see like and it was executed. So i mean more than just on the field he i guess that's mostly on the field. But across the entire game that he understood the importance of jackie robinson his life and the league and he felt like it was important enough that everybody should understand that. And i think it's great. I thought when. I heard that i thought it was amazing. Somebody who cares way more about way more things than just himself because it could have been easy for him to be selfish his entire career. Oh for sure you know and you can argue that there were times. Be everybody's got to be selfish at some point you know. When he asked out of seattle we saw the junior documentaries because he was miserable he was. We wanted to be with his family. And i can't fault that especially especially being a dad you know but you know this the impact that he had on my favorite team growing up the i. I've spoken to people over the last few years. It's like i don't know why honestly if you didn't grow up in the pacific northwest. Why anybody be manners fan and the same answer. Every time is i grew up watching griffey like there. You go there you go well. Any japan You know what. I mean any any. Yeah all of the ten all star teams. That's transcendent right there. That's that's how you become a fan of griffey if you didn't grow up there in any way. Green griffey jr wins. He just as a winner wins all of the things that you can win so the gold glove every single year. He was in seattle. Is exactly he wins. All the things you can win. it's the thing does. Yeah yep absolutely saved baseball in seattle. I mean we can't..

"You know it is north carolina so no. I think it'll be good though. I think it'll be a good way for teams to actually get an up close and personal. Look at some of these guys because you get guys who are who are drafted. And there's no medical on have no knowledge of the state of guys a pitcher's elbow bor- catchers knees you know and you see those could be pretty big deals you know or an outfielder who has pitched some in college who has a bad elbow you know so i think i think this could be something. That's good for the long run of major league. Baseball having in-depth medicals on guys. And you know. I think it's going to be a little more watchable than what the nfl combine. Is this coming from somebody who has watched the nfl combine for many years Yeah i mean it's not going to be the underwear olympics because he can't play baseball in your underwear You know like you can't football apparently and so it's going to be a little bit more normalized and a little bit more like watching. I mean it'll probably be watching spring training. I would imagine right. Yeah i think it will be with. May but they'll be drills in individual performances. I saw a really cool thing on a instagram the other day. It was a drill. I'd never seen before somehow and the coach was was doing go down the third baseline and all of the players like a line of six players. That were staggered back. Like five feet from one another and then zippered in diagonal. They'd all die for the ball. It was pretty cool. So i expect something stuff stuff like that combine. That's what you would think right so yes some interesting things that we maybe had never seen before you know for those of us who didn't go to a high level you know. Yeah yeah things never seen and and that would be fun to watch and honestly like i've been wanting skills competition besides just the home run derby. Yes you're talking about that. yes and so. We're going to get some version of that. And who knows maybe some that will bleed over into the all star break. We can only hope. Now hold on. You can't say we're going to get it because we haven't seen anything about televising this event have we know but i bet you it will be m on..

"Here at hand is things are headed in the right direction but if we bring a bunch of people of tourists from a bunch of different states and we put them on a petri dish. What's going to happen. Are things get really bad again and that would make things really bad for not just the fans but the players and also the community because people are going to be out in the community as well. Yeah okay my argument to that would be. But it's outside and it's supposed to be warm in phoenix. Yeah and you know in. I know in march. You know it's it's about eighty degrees. And that i don't know if that's warm enough necessarily to do what it needs to do for covid I know during you know. I guess last year things didn't really start to get bad until june when it really heated up and everybody went inside you know as long as people outside. It's fine But you've also got people. Because i know the period complex is like a jillian and i'm being like probably under exaggerating that. There's like a bazillion restaurants in that area and you know people are going to go to a game and go to then go to the restaurants and not all of them have outdoor seating. so you know. I know you're gonna run into problems with that and it's not it's not just being in the stadiums you know. It's like being in the community and overcrowding areas that are not typically that crowded. Sure well and not just that but what are they bring in former elsewhere. What will they take back home with them. I understand all of that but The great contradiction here is that the grapefruit league has said not nothing. Yeah yeah. And i don i mean i don't know so it's also warm and it's also outside. I don't think things are as bad in florida as they as they were. What six months ago right. Yeah kinda come down so that might be part of. It is the gotten things under control. But i mean in arizona in. I mean we were getting like thirteen thousand cases a day there for like a week stretch. Wow so it's gotta come down. It's gotta stay down and i think that's really what it is is is it's it's trying to get it down and getting it to stay down rather than getting another spike for three or four months as a result spring training. Okay so now. This decision comes back to the players association. Tony clark has to say yes. Or no. Which i think is interesting like i'm starting to feel like he's really the one behind the scenes here you know. He's he's the executive director of the mlb. And i feel like he's the one who's really guiding all of this like i've always been really hard on rob manfred because of his inability to negotiate like wrong. It's not wrong. But i wonder sometimes i feel like so. I'm gonna get real nerdy on you here for a minute break through so do it. I finished watching your nerd voice. Please No it's it's not that kind of nerdy but i finished watching The clone wars series on disney plus Y- excellent show. If you haven't washy like stars watch it..

"And and rejected the expanded brad. The players association been in this much of a power position in this long mcallen in. I mean the they've been the strongest strongest union in sports north american sports for a long long time. And really what's behind. This is the players. Association wants wants to universal d. h. It gives it provides more jobs. I mean we've talked about marcelo zona and his ability to keep a job because of the d. h. in the last year the nfl last year. you know i mean that's that's fifteen more jobs for guys right so the players association wants that what they don't want for some reason. I can't figure this out is they. Don't want expanded playoffs I mean i. I do understand the side that the players are not getting any more money because the playoffs. The players don't see any of that money unless they win right. That's how good though. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. That's just that's just the way playoff money works. That all goes to the owners. But i don't understand. The thing that i cannot figure out is like why wouldn't you want more games. I don't understand that either. They're kind of standing in their own way of growing the game by not bringing in expanded playoffs. And you know. I understand that. There's the argument that it gets watered down. that's fine. you can have that argument because it could. But it's more meaningful games longer. And i don't understand what the players wouldn't want that and i don't know if that's the players on the whole in the whole like saying no. We don't want expanded playoffs. Or if it's just tony clark saying nope. We don't want that because we don't have to take it. Yeah that's what i. That's what i think of. I think of what what is the political move here. And why are we rejecting it. I'm gonna keep beating the collective bargaining agreement drum. Neil's like more more pieces on the board being moved around and In this chess game that they've got going on leading up to this The end of the season. That's that's how it feels to me. 'cause i agree with you. More more meaningful games makes a lot of sense to me especially in the wake of such a wonky season and with the need to revitalize the sport overall i mean why would you not want to at least do a couple of years with a new playoff system That involve more people more fans. It's special and then i. I would argue that if you do it for three or four seasons maybe three seasons. And then you pull it back after. Obviously you've expanded to new franchises. Go of course of course and then you pull it back but you you can go back to regular format then. It's it was special for those three seasons. You keep it special. That would be my argument to the to the watering it. Down people in because they're right but we gotta find a way to revitalize as well. So how do we do both say. Three seasons with expanded playoffs. Then take it away at a couple of teams. Everything's juiced except for the balls and we're good to go. I think it spun. Hit the nail on the head there But that's why they rejected. They want is because it was probably a package deal. That's what it was a package deal. Yeah that's exactly what was there. Is that the owners. Gave them universal d. h. But they said but this has to come with it and that's when they're like no. yeah..

Like what I had to say, don't like, what I say you wanna tell me what you feel I feel about what I'm saying on this program go at, at Jeffords talks, but the right now talking Seattle Mariners team that I remember from my childhood, you'll away that we discussed in a driveway off a call the sack in a suburb of a city that was one thousand nine hundred miles away. We looked at Seattle wonder why they couldn't win the edge, a buehner. They had Ken Griffey juniors. They had Edgar Martinez. They have Freddie Johnson problem is the pitching after Randy Johnson just wasn't a lot of their this is. You know, this is an organization that's had a hall of Famer in Griffey one day hall of Famer in each row. Who knows what it's going to be the case with Edgar Martinez. I would suspect. Harold beans gets in primarily as a designated hitter throughout his career that Edgar Martinez cannot be very far behind within trying to down each euro should already be in the hallway does time, Felix, this isn't going to be an interesting case all the numbers and you're not gonna love them. But the people that remembered him pitching will get him in. Just hope it doesn't tarnish it too much by pitching long in his career. One guy that did not do that. Randy Johnson, you know, yet some some rough times around the edges at the end, hopefully, nobody remembers too much as in New York Yankee, but as a as an Divac as a Seattle mariner, that's how Andy Johnson should be remembered remember he wants title, and I hate getting snobby about championship rings but he wins the title with the Divac. She was the most valuable player in that two thousand one World Series. So he definitely deserves to be remembered as back despite how great he was emperor. The greatest Seattle mariner pitcher at least in franchise history. You can make an argument for Felix. You can make an argument for even Jamie Moyer who's right at the top as far. That war statistic goes they've had Robertson Cano there. They had the J pewter once upon a time Alvin Davis, Harold Reynolds, guys from the old more Royal blue with the yellow s the cap, John all routes. Stop there. Of course, Nelson Cruz more recently might Cameron mic. Everday. I believe Mike. Cameron, FREDDY Garcia, too big to pieces of that Ken Griffey junior trade with the Cincinnati Reds was the off-season between ninety nine two thousand. I just remember to game at riverfront stadium in two thousand Griffey plan for the reds at it was, it was the reds jersey. No, Pete Rose. I couldn't honestly give you a great assessment of who else in the reds way to had back then. But can't Griffey junior was a big enough draw in his own, right. Helicopter is, of course, drafted out of high school to play there and he played well I mean, this is the organization that let go of O'Meara scalper, honestly, pennies the dollar of late. It hasn't been great. Let's see the managers who have not taken this team playoff Bob Elvin, who I really liked Yuli spent two years with the club back in two thousand three thousand four wins ninety three games, finishes second misses the postseason thousand three thousand four they go. They kind of flip it around sixty three and ninety nine after going, ninety three.

It's definitely the device. I use it with the least. So that's why I still enjoy the experience so much. But it does every once in a while. I do want to use it in an often stumbles. Yeah. I use it for of course for watching baseball games on the ipad your Seattle Mariners. Wow. What a opening to the season. They had you don't care. It's pretty good. I do know I care, but I've been hurt too many times. So they opened the season with twenty three games where they hit a home run in every game. Which is I think broke the major league record. You would think the Yankees would have that record. But now the Mariners. Yeah. I have a lot of stupid ideas about sports teams there that are based on to the the branding and attitude of the teams from when I was a child. Like, I feel that the mammy dolphins should always be a team that that as a good passing game. But that's just because they had Dan Marino as a kid. But that's just what I right, right. The Dallas Cowboys should always have a superstar running back. That's just I just feel like that's the way it should be the Seattle. Mariners to me should always be a team full of like three hundred pounds sluggers who can hit the ball five hundred feet. Like, they may or may not be good. They're going to win the World Series. But they're gonna they're they are going to hit the hell out of the baseball. That's just to me that Mariners should always be very hard slugging baseball team. Yeah. Well, they have a park for two. I mean the biggest change over time I have been here over twenty years so <hes> it's hard to imagine but there was a time where we actually I remember number e mail coming so that might shock some of your listeners but as far as changes go that's really the biggest change is just having access to information the technology that we have available to us the information at our fingertips tips the information at our prospects fingertips is a huge change in a differentiator in the past. They haven't had as much information so <hes> we're going into our deals process. There is informed many times you you know as our salespeople are so it really has changed. Just how we approached are prospecting especially on the T._v.. Side you decide as well. You know their access to information. It's twenty four seven. You have to be on your toes. The long long news cycle no longer exists and so just being you know the fundamentals of sales remained the same unions the organized you need to be strategic thinker needs to learn about your prospects connect with people people but on the changes really are from a technology standpoint and access to information for sure energy product that you don't have a lot of control over as well right everything going in the sales environment. You just like any sports teams some years. There are good teams bad teams. Does your sales strategy change at all when you've got a contender versus when you're in a rebuilding time you know whether it's the beginning of the season in the middle of the season once you see what kind of team you have is. They're changing approach at that point. I don't know that we necessarily change our approach. The way we talk about it. Internally you're right we we can only control we can control so are are focused. Internally is always on for us our fan experience customer experience since and that applies throughout our sales processes well ideally if we have a good product on the feel that certainly enhances it and we will probably talk more baseball but it's mainly our fans customers want to talk more more baseball at that point fundamentally we are job every day is to as you said we have no offseason. We're responsible for bringing people out to the ballpark and whether or not we have a good product on the field so we'll take advantage certainly only from a marketing standpoint of taking advantage of a good team but that doesn't necessarily change ours a royal strategy on how we approach our business and I may be biased because I'm a big baseball fan but I think one of the advantages. Inches of going to a game is you have the opportunity to not just experience. We're hopefully is a good competitive entertaining game but it's baseball provides inexperience provides cadences where you can have a conversation a summer afternoon at a ballpark in the sun is kind kinda like day a day just in a park with a picnic and you did happen to have some great professional athletes in front of you as well as I think there are a lot of different things you can sell it. I'd imagine that that overall experience including in beyond the game on the field isn't just something you're doing individual tickets but I imagine it has an impact on group sales in corporate sales in sweet sales as well. How do you incorporate that overall experience as part of the pitch especially on the Beatles in the group sales side and I think that's one of the advantages images of what we have to offer here at the ballpark you hit right all of our kind of value proposition? We do feel like we have something for everyone so as far as the strategy when it comes to sales <hes> you know the first first and foremost is were if we're talking from BBC standpoint. We're we're listening to to them about what what are what's important to them so for instance if it is employees are important and they want employee engagement we have opportunities for them to come and and create a fun experience out at the ballpark that they couldn't necessarily get at a park like you are saying and but we also offer the opportunity as you mentioned too you can win else. Can you sit with your <hes> prospective client or even your best client and having opportunity at kind of leisurely pace while being entertained to talk business so it we really do have opportunities before anyone that we're talking with that can be a blessing in a curse so trying to stay focused on what our overall goals are can be challenging. I it's a little overwhelming actually how many options we have to offer for instance. That's when we come in as kind of leaders on the sales team to really help our sales team focus on you know we're we need to have those opportunities. Go in. I think being able to customize something to a particular audience saying like in on not just saying here's all the things you can buy from us. Here's all the different experiences you can have at the ballpark and with the mariners but customizing that to what people care about a lot of complex B. Two B. Environments we work with. It's the same thing I mean you're. You've got a consistent instead of products. The product on the field is a baseball game the way that the reason why people want to be there though the objective they have may be different and then expands beyond. Just you know the ballpark. I imagined that when you're talking to people whether they're talking about season tickets or talking about sponsorships they have other options writings that even just in the sports world you look across. You've got you know popular sounders soccer team here in Seattle. You've got the you've got the seahawks even on the baseball side. You've got multiple minor league teams that are you know within driving distance away. How how do you think about competition for the dollars with similar experiences and how does what's the strategy you employ to try to create differentiation in preference for an experience with America's well? I think the the most important piece to to all of this is just understanding that you know the biggest competitor for for us aside from dollars is time you know people have only a limited amount of time. They have limited dollars could potentially find more dollars but you can't find more time and that's <hes> you know on us to explain and educate. I I often <hes> call our sales team educators because people don't necessarily <hes> they don't have time to really sit sit down and thank <hes>. How could I use baseball to help me grow my business or develop more <hes> a better relationship with my family <hes> there? There are lots about <hes> opportunities for us to do that. So as far as you know how how we how we position ourselves in the market there's there's always going to be competition in. It's really just understanding and listening <hes> to our customers and understanding what what are their needs and then we also need to adapt. We've made a lot of changes over the years not necessarily in the sales process but throughout the ballpark to take advantage of <hes> you know what are fans and our customers are looking for and we'll continue to do that really I'm listening is important. Listening is really important. Any any sales market contacts really excited to have the Francis Tradesman today on sales pipeline radio senior vice president of sales with the Seattle Mariners and you know. I think a lot of context will talk about V._W.. Sales. In Marketing we talk about the importance of those teams working together where you know sales may be responsible ultimately for hitting the number but they often can't do it alone that it's it's. There's a there's a partnership with marketing <hes> with the communications team to help do that as well. When you're talking about explaining and educating that's not just an outbound sales effort as well talk about how you partner with your counterparts on the marketing communication side and what you do just try to create some consensus and ends coordination of the message to make some make it a little easier well and we have a great marketing team? I think they are the best in the business. I'm partial but I offend in this business for a while. I think they're just terrific. They have been really wonderful to work with and we have an outside agency that we've worked with for many years as well on the brand side so we have you know the mariners brand that clearly is <hes> established in this market but when it comes to translating that hat to revenue generation that's where we've come in to try to help plant the seed of how can we get that message out to the General Fan that it's not just about baseball so you know common objection well I. I don't like baseball well. That's not actually what we sell here..
"seattle mariners" Discussed on The Short Porch
"Josh stores, formerly the Seattle Mariners now near gangqi. Josh welcome to the program. It was a. So you are a hero. I'm not surely Scherf, you know, why? But you are part of the reason sunny gray is out of our lives, and we've we had enough of sunny, Greg. So you are hero before you some are actually asking for a plaque in Manja park. Righty? So you're off to a start. You're off to a hot start. But yeah. So that's whole crazy getting trades. The Handke's I'm sure that's a whole world win for you. What team? Did you grow up rooting for as a kid Kogyo? Pretty much cubs fan. The White Sox had that one good year. Five is going all the cubs games and stuff. It was definitely just a lot more fun. Definitely closer to all that. So I like that answer because we do not like the White Sox of the moment with their whole many Machado bullshit. Yeah. They think they're all high and mighty. So that's a good answer. If it's not comedian Ke's where where were yesterday. Josh for new got the call that you're getting treated and like who was on the phone on the other end letting your head of New York. So actually weirdly going to take a drug test for like the. Our farm director former farm directly from the Mariners. Cosby he's like he takes me. I was like what are you doing ASEP when I was just like shit like whether I do and give them a call, and he's like a the worry about coming Zona, drain the keys and I'm like mid drive to drug test. So I'm like, wait what? Rude. What to do it be like don't even bother coming as you're out of here? The eighties. Really? He's like, yeah. He's like someone from New York will be in touch. And I was like all right. Also, that's said did you talk the Kashmira? Now, not in gas. Okay. That's I think Josh your buddy Josh Rogers forefront of the program. He he did talk to Cashman. So that was a for him to talk the Cashman. I feel like he freak out. So I was just curious if you had interaction, but what is it like being treated like is, obviously, I mean, this you you were just drafted last year second round what what is the feelings? Like is. You're moving you played in Washington last year. Correct. Yes. The aqua SOX, right? Is that what the name I love like crazy, minor league names aqua SOX? But so what's it like, do you even know where you're reporting to we're going give any idea? I have actually no idea. I'll probably be in Tampa here soon in the next few weeks. So Gotcha, very cool. Jira, your center fielder by trade. But you you roam around you can play wherever you think. Yeah. I can play left or right. Doesn't matter. I like being the center. Yeah. Of course. Yes. Captain the field for sure. A funny thing did pop up yesterday. You had a few tweets ole tweets dug up nothing bad, you know, could be so much although Josh delete them. All just like find the tool, delete them all on anything bad. But the little small ones is like fuck. I'm just gonna believe all these these notifications. It's definitely the right move. But you did have a tweet that you know, solidified that plaque future plaque and monument park where you just are not a fan of the Boston accent? And I gotta tell you you came to the right program. We don't like it either. Yeah. We were we were watching the Red Sox game because I was planning in the Cape league. And we were just walking around downtown Boston before the game in. I was just listening to conversations, you know, just like in Boston everything every conversation to super lout..
