"Let me give you a hint when we sat people facing south. They organized time from left to right when we sat them facing north. They organized time from right to left when we sat them facing east time came towards the body. What's the pattern east to west right so for them. Time doesn't actually get locked on the body at all. It gets locked on the landscape so for me. I'm facing this way then. Time goes this way and basing this way then time goes this way. I'm facing this way this way very egocentric of me to have the direction of time chase me around every time i turn my body for the kook tire times locked on the landscapes dramatically different way of thinking about time. Here's another really smart human trait. Suppose i ask you. How many penguins are there. Well i bet. I know how you solve that problem. If you solve it you went one. Two three four five six seven eight. You counted them right. You named each one with a number in. The last number you said was the number of penguins now. This is a little trick that you're taught to use his kids. You learn the number list and you know you learn how to apply it a little linguistic trip. What someone would just don't do this because some languages don't have exact number words their languages that don't have a word seven or eight people who speak these languages don't count and they have trouble keeping track of exact quantities so for example. If i asked you to match this number of penguins to the same number of ducks you would be able to do that by counting. But folks who don't have that linguistic trick can't do that. Language is also different how they divide up the color spectrum the visual world some languages have lots of words for colors. Some have only a couple of words. Light and dark and languages differ in where they put boundaries between cultures so for example in english. There's a word for blue that covers all of the colors that you can see on the screen but in russian there isn't a single word instead. Russian-speakers have to differentiate between light blue color boy and dark blue seaney so russians have this lifetime of experience of.

"Cool. It may be too soon to ask this but is already have a vision of what the next like what the next phase of your work is going to be like compared to what you're doing now. Yeah yeah because. I realized because i visited performance recently in during that performance. I realized that this album has been made in like bob myself. Pretty much i made during quarantine like being alone which was perfect for the album and it's made for people who are in their rooms who you know may be our meditating or some type of psychedelic journey on top of a hill or in their room or just finding out for a day to just kind of catch you by in to tap into the flow just like happiness in the world in life you know and so for this next phase of my musical journey. I think that i'm really gonna tap back into what it's like to be a large crowds with people. Because that's something that haven't been experiencing for a very long time and that none of us have so. I think slowly by the time my next series of projects come out the world would be ready for that in actually going to hopefully be able to perform front of people. So i'm gonna make music that's conducive to that in in trying to get back into into wrapping put in a way that i feel like works with all of the things i've learned up to this point. It's pleasure speaking you. Thank you so much for this opportunity. I feel like i've learned so much. You know just sitting here and talking to you and can i just ask you why you chose to to to interview me today. What made you think that as i told you in the beginning i was i was i saw poster. Like oh he's got a new ad. Mount be fun to talk to him. We never i mean we see each other around and we say hello. But we've never really talked so much like the beauty of this doing this as i get to talk to people who even people i know well through this process. We get talk about stuff. We don't normally talk about when we were hanging out. I never asked breakup i saw. I've been working with peppers for twenty nine years and and i interviewed flee or something and i asked him all these questions. I've known him for twenty nine years. But i don't know anything about him. I know about how we make music together. But i don't really know anything else other than what has happened to come up during those times. So it's fascinating. Both where people i already know and then people who i just you know see from a distance and curious like be fun. Talk soup see what see what's going on inside. I'm so i'm so happy. "I mean one of my good friends. He's a pastor as well and his daughter is maybe a year behind our daughter and she came out way early bisexual. And she has been harassed. She has been bullied online to face while she has had to take breaks. Like take entire quarters off to go back home just to kind of recover were like i'm just beside myself. I'm like where's the school someone who's being bullied. Let's let's put sexuality aside. Someone's being bullied by fellow students. And you're letting this happen. Yes yes. I don't care what policy the school has on you know sexuality and what have you. It's like there's a higher policy there's a greater policy that when we send our kids there and pay all that tuition you should be able to guarantee their cd and their thriving there. You go amen to that brother aiman that. Hey listen. There's one more story floating around out there. That's kind of related to the. Have you been following this josh harris thing member. He's the guy who wrote the book that really was like the bible of the purity culture. I kissed dating goodbye and You know he. Since has in fact he He recanted he's apologized for the book He went to the publisher. And this thing is like a monster saur and he said you've got to stop publishing it and and the publisher did they. Just turn it off. If you've seen the story about josh. Yeah i followed it a little bit from afar. I know that he became a pastor and even after he recanted that content. He kept deconstructing to the point. Where i don't know if he quit or he was fired. He left the church as part of his decision when he began to realize the pain that he'd caused and the backlash it's almost become a cottage industry as you know in podcast and books and even scholarship. That's going on about the impact of purity culture on these adolescents. Who you are got raging hormones and you know basically told just turned to switch off you know until you get married when he began to realize the damage that had been done because of his book e really started having a lot of second thoughts and he resigned his church over it first and then he went on to make the more positive steps but he actually went on a tour around the country. You just listening to people. Tell their story of what happened to them because of this The some of these crazy ideas were in a book that he wrote by the way. This is the best selling book that he wrote when he was like twenty one. He's an expert right. Didn't you hear recently an interview of him that yes It really hit home with you. Yes yes i heard. Nadia bolts weber interview. josh harris. You know she is. You know who she ain't. No i actually seeing a lutheran pastor in colorado got all kinds of tat's yes she got very lively language audience brilliant. Yes she's brilliant and she doesn't mince words no she doesn't she. Has this deep spirituality that connects with people in powerful ways. In fact whenever i've heard her interview she has thing called I think she calls it. Confession where She invites the confessional. She invites people to come in and share their stories. Just like we like to do and at the end. Because he's a pastor lutheran pastor who by the way was a before in her life. She was a stand up comedian. She's just she's just killer laureus. Oh my gosh. She's hilarious and she also likes to drop the f. brom liberally and know at the end she she'll she'll utter a blessing on the person who just shared his story and it's always so perceptive in so beautiful and so healing that you can't 'cause i got this at my background but what i listened to nadia. I started thinking you know. What if i could do that. I'd go to be a pastor again. I'd be pasture again. I would love to do onset crazy so by that. You're not just saying being able to give that kind of authentic blessing. I may be reading into you. But i think nadia bull's webber represents something profound the more authentic and more more vulnerable. Yes seaney model of being a pastor you ever encountered were absolutely and the guys that i know who are still in the biz. You know what i mean. Energised all conscious of the gare rails. They've got to put up and how they have to choose their words so carefully so they don't offend the guys who are writing the checks or making it work. It just creates this enormous crisis. And i oftentimes wonder what it would be like to be a pastor without the encumbrance of all those limitations and restrictions. And you know. And all that. And when i see someplace like like nadia it by the way she's not just doing this to blow people off. She approaches thing it to find the truth to let the truth shine and then she just nails it. You know i see pastures. Who don't have this i called it. This encumbrance of of this. Doctrinal stuff that you have to try to defend and promote and and you've got to be so careful not to offend it just it's such a contrast to see that kind of freedom in action. Now i gotta ask you. How did her interview of josh go. What truth did she bring to the surface. She nailed him for the kind of thing. We're talking about because they actually talked about. How can you promote yourself as the heater. And he confessed that that's a huge dilemma in conflict for him so he actually packaged skip. The part of the story. He recently packaged himself as a resource. Yes even though. He's been perpetrator. I love your word as a resource for damaged christians. Yes to kind of find their way away from christianity you could pay him three hundred bucks that yes. We didn't bring that up yet. You know after after his apology and his and his deconstruct his very public deconstructed fact. I think he says i'm no longer a christian. He's gone that far with it. Now on it is marriage. Blew up over it and so he's paid a serious price. I think for deciding that he needs to move on from. I kissed dating goodbye..

"Idea in ancient greek philosophy. And it's something that i think. We lose a little in modern american culture. We're various anti hierarchy. I legitimately have taken education courses that talk about ways in which the students should guide the teacher through the lesson. And i was just like no. Yes now which is something something now. Should students have some autonomy. They're humans yeah. There's something over there but they don't guide me. They can do things. Which have that that happened to me so a passion. But i need to have the so far seaney to recognize that thing. That's happening. I'm thinking of when i gather information. Do students know things. I guide passion when i received that. Receive that input of something outside is affecting me. And i now know something about my students. I still need to decide. I still need to be the one that decides what happens with it. And that's that's me governing the passion. It's just not apathy which is where the direct cognate from apathy becomes a problem. I don't think teachers should be apathetic to their students. But this should be dispassionate. Disciplining students or children or adults dispassionate. Don't take it personally. Behavior is a skill. that's what we get taught in boys town training. All the time is the student is not disrespecting maybe they are fine but like they are behaving this way because they think this is the. This is the best way to behave in the moment. They think this is what's gonna bring them the most good. They're just they're wrong right. You don't get upset when a student can't solve a calculus problem correctly or you. Shouldn't you shouldn't get upset that a student doesn't know the date that the war of eighteen twelve happened. You shouldn't get upset that i think you get upset that they don't know content of your class You just teach it to them. You just guide them to that knowledge so same thing with the social skills their skills you teach them like skills students are bad or good at them and you don't get upset when they're bad at accepting no for an answer you teach them how to accept no for an answer like so anyway so these these are things that run through my head now as i've just taken a boy's town refresher course and i'm thinking about dispassionate and brinson is teacher should not get angry at my student. The third time that they pull their phone out in the week after. I've taken away from them both other times angry. I just okay well okay. We need to like chitchat about how to deal with your desire to take your phone because you are not being dispatched. I didn't like the the argument for quietness when i read. This is what i'm gathering from this page all my notes. Yes i gathered that from what you said about it to you were like. I'm not down with this. I was like well. This doesn't the other thing is quietness changes the connotations i feel behind this from when this is maybe when the translation was written Okay so they talk about the reason. Why.

"To remember. The sacrifice gets murdered or well put to death row. War being a philosopher. Yes now i enjoy a few things. This whole dialogue is going to be about self control and the let me give a little a little greek philosophy post in the in the early eighties. The early eighties centuries a term called apathy or dispe passion. And the way they're going to talk about so control. Temperance seaney in seven hundred years from this dialogue is going to be a lot about the passions the movements of the mind the movements of the soul and the movements of the body that are in some sense involuntary. They happen to you And what do you do with that. And they're going to really emphasize something that will talk about more here is that the sole governs the body that is rightly ordered humanity when the body orders the soul that is disordered humanity so when your passions control you bad when you control your passions. Good we'll get into that. What i like about the setup here is if we think about returning to my old haunts and he says he sees he sees a lot of people most of whom he knew but not all of them. There's something unfamiliar there's mostly familiar. But something unfamiliar. And that he merely enters upon them and they immediately salute him they immediately recognized his presence. and one of them a kind of madman immediately runs to him and grabs him and asks him. How did you escape. And i posit that. It's worth thinking when we talk about this more. Maybe as a frame narrative at the end of our discussion to think of this as a symbolic way of describing what entering upon so control is in terms of self reflection when you look through your own soul to discover what the passions that are at work in the sole are and how that interaction goes..

"Still the shelter shortage of engineers in the k. The more initiatives is actually recently to improve. This and the government has no targets to meet at the demand. Am i think the problem with the show to prevention as g to really the perception of engineering and maybe the lack of diversity in the industry i think sometimes then needs to be more understanding of the opportunities that are available in engineering and really the high level feature any potential which comes with a career in engineering. So i know that. There's a decline in prince ships in token around the nineteen seventies which has contributed to the skills shortage currently but current courses. That paperless studying might not see basically cover the skills that needed to secure an engineering job. They may have the right technical skills but they might not have the professional skills that goes with. That said we need to improve the graduates that come out of the the system as well in the engineering industry. We haven't aging wit for so i came across figure that sat nineteen point five percent of engineers issue to retire by twenty twenty six. Now that seventy five years away and to me. What leasing that valuable experience and knowledge that we have in the industry. So it's really prudent to employ people to transfer that knowledge before they retire as The skills gap in general. There's a lack of young women going into stem vice crea. So what are some of the main reason unhappiness barriers to entry bigger moods. I think we have a lack of role models in the industry to look up to. I know when i was in the early stages of my career. And i felt like i didn't have a female figure in the industry that i look up tearing imagine being like when i got into later stages of my career being a female in engineering. Feel like it. We need to dedicate time to give him back. Then sharing especially females what you can achieve sometimes having seaney positions with females in is a good way of sharing role models in different positions in in the company as well..

"Level that is the businesses and their clientele. Father sir. thank you for being here. We'll check in with you very soon. God bless you and phil. I'm going to continue with you. Speaking of france on monday a rwandan refugee living in france was arrested for allegedly killing a catholic priest. Father olivier marie who was head of the montfortain missionary order now. According to reports the refugee known as emmanuel song was invited to stay at the residence by father he while he awaited trial for setting fire to the cathedral of saint. Peter and paul innocuous last summer now. The refugee had reportedly set the fire after his application for asylum had been rejected and was facing deportation from france. Your thoughts here. Although not being looked at as a terrorist attack phil francis suffered attacks on priests and churches repeatedly over the last. Several years. macron denounced Father maurice death your reaction when you heard this story. Well the tragic story. And i don't know personally but i assume that this is a very troubled man. It however does speak to a lack of prudence. I think on the part of the montfort community that they would take in a man who was wanted for charged with a violent act against the catholic church. The charity that they showed is commendable. and i hate to criticize someone for an excess of charity. But this was a man who probably needed more help than that community could give him and i wonder if their attitude was unduly influenced by their anxiety to to help immigrants so to be seen as opposing anti immigrant. Feeling this. there's a fierce political debate over immigration laws already brewing in france. Sadly it's not the first story of a refugee who is being helped by a priest to only have turned on that priest the afterward last september. Father roberto malia seaney was an italian priest was killed by a migrant. He helped in the northern italian diocese of cuomo in france marianela pen. The president of the national rally who will likely run against macron next year tweeted in france. One can be an illegal immigrant. Set fire to the cathedral in nantes as never be deported and then offend by murdering priests. Are there lessons here for us in the us. Phil or is this. Just an isolated event in france. I think there are lessons for us in the un. It was the failure of the government Because this man wanted for charged with violent crimes should not have been loose unsupervised The other concern. That i have is that there is a an antipathy towards the church not just about among immigrants. It's growing throughout our society throughout western society. Churches are vulnerable and we need protection and we need to be prudent about protecting ourselves our institutions a few summers ago. I remember traveling through france in paris. And you could see the burn marks on the sides of these churches in the side doors some of course entirely torch. But this shouldn't be going on. This should not be going on in the west and certainly not in. Your a photograph was taken in november of two thousand sixteen first published by the french catholic newspaper lacroix on july fifteenth. And it shows amana identified as father maurice killer. Greeting pope francis during an audience is part of the catholics catholic church's jubilee of mercy. Fill the pope is repeatedly called european nations to take in migrants and refugees. Does the catholic church need to be careful about promoting unregulated migration of groups into europe..

Exfoliation 101

"Is explanation one. Oh one we are going all the way back to basics and tibet understand. Why explanation is so interesting to skin and also decipher the different full in varieties. I'm hoping you can help us out. Absolutely let's kick things off really really simply leeann. What is explicitly. I should so when we talk about exfoliating. We're talking about using things or products that exfoliating skin from the outside in skin has its own natural exfoliating process which is known as discrimation. That happens from the inside out. We can talk about that a little bit through the podcast as well. This is a bit of a back to front question. But what happens if you don't explicitly eight your skin. Well as i said. Your skin does exfoliating naturally however certain things slow that down so we have the natural biological aging process premature aging which is influenced by different things that are external like say the sun and also situations where the skin itself has issues. doesn't exfoliating correctly in that often happens in the follicle this causes breakouts and blemishes and other unfavorable skin conditions. So if we're not exfoliating topically and hoping that process along it can lead to things like that seaney to give it a helping hand. Absolutely yeah you just get this build up of dead skin on the surface so we give it to helping him by hoping that to slough away okay then so on the other hand what does happen to ask in when we do exfoliating. What are these potential skin benefits on offer in the short term and long term. Okay sharon so what happens when we use something topically. Exfoliating the skin is we speed up the skin's natural process of exfoliating or we regulate the skin where it's not exfoliating enough by itself and bring it back to balance so two different things happen when we speed the exfoliating process up it encourages cells in the lowest start reproducing. We're moving dead ones off the surface so it sends a signal through the skin. You need to make more. And in that process happens. The production of collagen leston hollow onic acid. All the things that are beneficial to the skin or the things we want. That's right exactly

Managing your time effectively

"Let's talk about time then. In the next thing i was thinking about what are some effective time hygiene or time habits that we can about to institute in the new year. And you know there's just so much of this thinking in the entrepreneurial world that the idea is to just go out there and to work all the time to sort of sacrifice other areas of your life. I caught myself seaney. Lan must describe how he puts ninety hours a week into his business. And i have a hard time relating to how that's possible and the reality is it's i almost feel like a little bit ashamed to it in the light of how this kind of hustle culture is so glorified but i spent more time. You know working on businesses. When i had a job and i sat in a desk from eight. Am in the morning until seven pm at night. Then i do for the businesses that we've run together and part of that is having good time hygiene and focusing on the things that count tell you what my trick is. Dan and it has been the last three. Years is just have a kid because that will clean up your act immediately. It's kind of a joke but it's kind of serious which is like there's a limit now on my time. That was never there before so when people had said to me in the past like oh man. I got so much more disciplined with my time. When i had a kid. I can totally relate to that so i guess what i would try and tell myself before is like how could i engineer that into my day like pre kid because actually used to pull it on must end like you used to make fun of me for it. You'll be like oh. This diesel just like sits down for like twelve hours and the reason i did that is because i kind of enjoyed it and one hand but on the other because i was like super inefficient and the way that was approaching some of these problems so it worked out because they didn't have anything better to do and certainly that's a okay position to be in. If you want to sit there for twelve hours you can do it. If you don't have much else going on which i didn't but now i can't afford to do that so i just have to be a little bit more deliberate about the way that i spend my time. It's weird because like besides being braggadocious on youtube about it. No one's keeping track of this stuff anymore and no one cares right and so it doesn't matter whether it takes fourteen hours a day or four. It's really a matter of practicing the fundamentals simply asking yourself. Are you being efficient with your time if your being efficient with twelve hours a day and what you want to do is grow the biggest company in the world and become the richest person in the world. Then more power to you. Know that's really cool a couple of things. I mean for me. My time hygiene habit in two thousand and twenty one is calendar in a lot more and the strategy essentially is time boxing and time. Boxing is an approach. That leverages parkinson's law which suggests that task expands to the amount of time that you a lot to it and this is particularly true in knowledge. Work and men. You've been through this a million times. Essentially you finished the task by the deadline. Yeah and especially in knowledge based businesses where there are these moving grey lines as to what constitutes being finished. I think time. Boxing is a really excellent approach. The so typically in my calendar has been only for meetings meetings blank space and in two thousand and twenty one. I'm going to get more serious about time. Boxing and putting in projects deliverables deadlines and areas of focus in the calendar. You know one of the small examples started happening in our businesses one of our team members. Alison i would set aside an hour to work together on our sales literature every week and it was simply a matter of like. That's a time hygiene thing. This is a very important thing it tends to get put off and we think it's important so how about we just work on an hour week together and keep each other motivated. This is something. I really wanna explore in two thousand and twenty one interesting. I mean that is a real example. And that's something that we've talked about behind. The curtain with our businesses like ourselves pages needed to be updated. And i like the conversation that we had is like. This is an ongoing project. And so you know with these habits. Die ideas like identifying what's valuable and then making it a habit one of the thing. I'll add to hygiene dan and this is something that i implemented in twenty twenty as it relates. A time is a bedtime. I to stay up really late and i know. Sometimes you're up late to text. You still be up but it is rare. These days dan that i stay up twelve thirty. The reason for that is because i get up later and then i can't be productive during the day as much as i'd like to be. I don't know. I guess this is being part of an adult or something. I don't know. I've always kind of you know moon lighter on the night owl. The best stuff happens at night really. It doesn't for me the best things that happened at night or like more interesting so i cut myself off. And this is one of the habits that i implemented for twenty twenty. I'm looking forward to in twenty twenty one as

"That durant show that tour across Iowa and Illinois August tenth flattened as much as fourteen million acres of cropland seventy to one hundred plus mile an hour winds blew down trees and power lines more than half a million islands lost power some for more than a week. The word the ratio means straight ahead in. Spanish these massive straight line wind events travel more than two hundred and fifty miles and produce wind gusts over. Seventy five miles an hour. Why is the Upper Midwest climatological hotspot for these massive windstorms that howl for hundreds of Miles Victor Seaney is a professor with Northern Illinois University specializing in severe storms. Hi Victor Welcome to climate cast. Thanks for having me on. Paul what stands out to you about that August tenth Rachel probably the number of wind reports that we had over seventy five miles per hour usually when these jobs occurred you. Can get widespread fifty to sixty mile per hour winds. But as we saw in several cities in Eastern, Iowa in Northern Illinois and even into the Chicago land area, this particular day Joe was producing winds in excess along its path of seventy five miles per hour. Obviously, the wind speed gets higher. So does the damage we all know about Tornado Alley and there's also a higher donate show frequency there but the radio frequency is Also high here in the Upper Midwest and the southern Great Lakes right it is an actually if you had to pick one city on the map that experiences more durations than anywhere else in the United States, it would be sort of Rockford Illinois Northern Illinois here is really ground zero for the shows and it really goes back to the ingredients that you need in order to get these types of long live windstorms we've. Had some historic data shows in the Upper Midwest? The Boundary Waters Blow Down Fourth of July nineteen ninety nine is something people here in Minnesota remember what is it about the summertime atmosphere over the Upper Midwest? That's conducive to durant chose well, for those of us who live up here in the summer we know it's the heat and humidity, and of course, you have heat and humidity present on many days in the summertime. But what really differentiates from a direct show, Dave versus a normal thunderstorm day are these bigger disturbances that moved through the atmosphere and a lot of vertical wind shear strong jetstream overhead that all comes together to create a very favorable atmosphere for these rages. The bulk of evidence seems to suggest that climate change doesn't show strong links to the intensity of d'auray chose why is that? It's not that it doesn't show strong relationships is. That it's sort of unknown in that we have a lot of errors right now with our experiments in the models that we have that can project into the future the potential changes. Our best guess right now is that the amount of days that we're going to have in the future that having this extreme heat and humidity will increase, but it's sort of unclear if that's GONNA translate to more of these types of Drake Joe. Windstorms is there any evidence that Rachel climatology could shift northward as the climate warms there are certainly studies out there that show northward shift in what we call the mid latitude jetstream and these types of phenomenon in theory should shift with that northward shifting jet. Again, these are attribution type of studies that will need to be retested in the future and continue to be tested with new data before I think we can say anything. More robust about what we're going to expect with these types of storms. I don't think there's a rating system for Rachel's how would you rate that one that crossed Iowa into Illinois on August tenth this particular Drake Shift you had to ask me is probably one intend to one in fifteen year event across the Midwest Professor Victor Jen, Seaney with Northern Illinois University. Thanks so much for being on climate cast today. Thanks for having me.

Depression Loves Junk Food

"Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the Green Wisdom Health show. I'm John Lewis. And I'm Dr Louis and we are going to talk to you today about depression. Don't we sound excited about it The name of this show is called. Depression loves junk food and the reason we chose this for all of you out there listening is because we know a lot of you guys are very depressed and we realized that the more depressed. You are the more junk food. You're eating and sadly more the junk food restaurants are open because a good restaurants are not open as of yet in many states so We're kind of left with the drive-thrus now and so Dr Lewis is going to tell us today. About how that correlates. He's going to educate us a little bit about something called biofilms which Many of you probably not heard of. But they're actually one of the causes as to why you want to eat some bad food so it's not all in your head and we're going to help you make sense of it and we're going to help give you a plan to help you make better choices. So Dr Lewis. Can you put all this together for us to teach us about biofilms? You know and I think part of the reason we're doing this show is because you know we're in the middle of this too and it seems like ever since we ate a Brownie. That was not gluten free. And it had all the regular bad steph in it we've been craving more and more junk and we've been feeling worse and worse mentally so we thought with it's happening to us and we should know better We definitely need to educate you guys. So you have a clue as to what's going on with you so Dr Lous pull us out of the whole Pulis. Neal is go down a rabbit hole. Pull out of the rabbit hole and get us back to health and happiness and eating correctly. Well Pete Pete up in Missouri Concordia I think Columbia Concordia. He said I wish you'd just quit talking about rabbit holes. Just get to it so sorry. Pete can't do it. I don't know I re- I refuse to go down there. You know to into depression because I come from a family of very negative depressed people and it's like I'll be damned if I'm going to do that. I dislike. I see what they get you. I'm GonNa have fun and I finally figured out that I'm old and my sleep. Somebody said why do you know you're GonNa die in your sleep? Said because I'd fat at son of a gun trying to take me awake so we're going to have fun at the s There there's a lot that I really really really want to say and you know thinks about it. Is You know just? I don't even know you know we live in an illusion or delusion that we think we can control things and because the Internet makes us really really intelligent not really doesn't it makes you somewhat educated but it makes you an educated fool so we think more knowledge gives us more understanding which gives us more control and it really doesn't so during this time. I'm GonNa tell you what you can't control. You can't control whether somebody else follows the social distancing roles you can't control the actions of others feel like I'm Jeff Foxworthy If you can't control predicting what will happen you might be a redneck. You can't control other people's motives you can't control the amount of toilet paper in the store God is going to be fun. You can't control how long this is going to last and I personally think it's ninety percent crap bowl but that's me Join shooting straight with Dr Lewis and you can see me and my mask. It's made out of crown rule bag and yes. I emptied to sucker and gained three pounds. So That's how much OB- stressed eight because I'm guilty but you can't control how other people react so the the things you can't control a little matter at least I tell people you can't control that you can influence a lot of things you can always control your positive attitude. You can make that. You can turn off the news which it'd be really fun. If everybody did it would get over there. Salama quickly Feet you can find fun things to do at home and Janet just rolls her eyes when I bought another bucket of weird colored pint sock start paint rocks with grandkids. You can control whether you follow the CDC recommendations or not but you do control that you can't control others. You can limit your social media if itch negative unfriendly which there's two or three. I'm thinking about unfriendly but I think that helps me practice my Christianity WanNa deal with idiots such as one or two or three You can control your own social distancing if you think that is really a thing but most importantly you can control whether you're graceful and kind to other people and then and that's what I think we need. More of this is kindness so We'll talk a little technical stuff If you'd like anti I'm sorry my smart Alexa Way out today. Don't believe everything you think. Sometimes it's gone through the wrong map the wrong filter so We won't talk about bow films a little bit. I guess. That's what Janet you know. What is about them while the people have done the consult with me? I'll tell them. Well you're chlorides little on the low side your proteins a little low and if you don't die digest protein you cannot digest bow films and you have what we call a stealth pathogenic usually is yeast fungus buyers. Whatever it can be a lot of different things. But they these little micro organisms organisms they adapt and mutate. And so you have to have certain things that can allow you to get past the bow film and kill the infection and yes your body knows how to do it. It just needs the raw materials in in order for that to happen. So you know when I'm practicing I try to be integrative and holistic which you know that's really really a good thing to be. I don't think a reductionist Way of looking at things has gotten us very far but sometimes when a patient comes in they feel like they have no power at all and they're they're struggling with something they don't understand. Try to get it simple for them. I say well. It's too many toxins not enough nutrients one or the other or both and I get a lot of people when they consult with made that cry and I'll say I'm sorry. Did I say something to hurt? Your painless Nice. And now you're the first one that listened to in acts like you understand what Janet and I've gone through this stuff to people that complain about fatigue brain fog. I love it when I say brain fog. I know exactly what to do And it gets most of them Great Relief and that's the been photo man you've heard me talk about it and People that talk about digestive complaints. Well it's digestive enzymes and you need these things to help. Cut The bow FEM and two more properly in more Thoroughly Digest your food so that does not go down and create leaky gut. I'm mentioned a whole lot of different supplements and there's always somebody won't to hook onto Janet and my train and somebody said the other day. Well you know you said this and this and this about immune system and I would like to introduce my article about bovine colostrum and that helps immune system to. I'm not GonNa let that particular person get on our train and ride it but yes boven colostrum works. I take it. We have it here. You probably never heard me talk about it but if you're not taking SBI which is a bovine derived immunoglobulin. You're missing the boat. I don't care what you've got the ought to be thrown that stuff in your body every day You heard me talk last week. I don't know what we were talking about. Might have been sugar diabetes. Whatever and I said too much. Sugar Equals fewer vegetables equals. Less zinc equals. Poor taste equals more sugar. That's the vicious cycle that we get into and I think that's GONNA lead into why sometimes we get on this junk food journey and that helps feed the things that create bow films like the Candida Fungus. There's actually a book that says cancers of Fungus by Dr Simon Seaney and frankly it's kind of rare to get a book that just blows me away intellectually disguise. What the heck over my head. But I think if I had a bad cancer. I think I'd go see him at Rome Italy but read the book Cancers a fungus in the nurse. You know plenty of research. Studies like out of Johns Hopkins at talks about sugar can contribute greatly to creating cancer because it feeds the yeast fungus and these bow films are not broken down. So how do you break down? Abou- him well one thing you do. Is You take digestive enzymes. Because it has the things to break them down.

Gioachino Rossini 3: Overtures

"Hello welcome to classics for kids. I'm Naomi Win. Overture comes from the French word for opening vow to. That's what they called the piece of music that opened ballets and operas in Seventeenth Century France. After French overtures became popular all over Europe non-french composers started pending the name overture onto larger pieces of music those overtures or sweets as we now call them consisted of alternating fast and slow sections but they always started off with an overture in the French style. A slow introduction followed by lively second section today the kind of overture we know best is the dramatic overture a piece of music. That gets you ready for a stage. Work that follows sometimes. Those overtures consists of a bunch of hit tunes. That work like the overture to Jacques Oven. Box Operetta the Grand Duchess of Charleston. Dramatic go all the way back to the days when trumpets announced that some royal entertainment was about to start. That's the opening to one of the earliest opera ever written or fail by Claudio Monteverdi. Good overtures really. Get you in the mood for what's coming up for instance you can tell from the very first note that something serious is going to happen in. Mozart's Don Giovanni overtures set the stage for plays to Egg Mont by Gooda is obviously a tragedy as you can hear from the overture that Beethoven wrote for it but when you hear the overture Felix Mendelssohn composed for Shakespeare. Play a midsummer night's dream. You know it's a comedy. Actually Mendelssohn didn't originally right. His overture for production of the play. His midsummer night's dream is yet another kind of overture. A concert overture as the name says it's meant to be performed on a concert and doesn't have to have anything to do with anything. Theatrical lots of times when composers were asked to provide music for a special occasion. They'd write a concert overture. So that people who were sitting for a long time at some ceremony didn't have to sit through a long piece too when you're honest. Brahms composed music for the ceremony at which he got an honorary university degree. He made all the students happy by putting their favourite drinking songs into his academic festival. Overture lots of concert. Overtures were intended for patriotic purposes. Like the one Tchaikovsky wrote for the dedication of a church in Moscow. Tchaikovsky used that occasion to celebrate Russia's defeat of Napoleon in eighteen twelve tchaykovsky certainly knew how to put a rousing end to an overture and of course Soda Gioacchino Rossini. With one he wrote for his Opera William. Tell one of the things where Seaney put into his William Tell. Overture was a musical thunderstorm

Gioachino Rossini 1: About Gioachino Rossini

"To classics for kids. I'm Naomi Lewin. By the time. Giocchino Rossini died. He was seventy six years old but he only had eighteen birthdays. That's because Rossini was born in leap year on February twenty-ninth uh French horn was just one of the instruments. Rossini's father played as official town. Trumpeter in pays Idaho Italy where Seaney was born. Both Rossini's parents were or musicians. His mother was an opera singer which probably had a big influence on his choice of profession When he was a kid Rossini had a beautiful voice to his father taught him to play the horn and he also played piano and Violin at the age of twelve twelve? Rossini wrote a set of core tests for four string instruments. The first time they were performed he played the second violin. Part Rossini's first job as a teenager was coaching singers and playing keyboard instruments for an opera company. By the time he was twenty one in years. He's not in birthdays. Rossini composed ten operas. He wrote seven of those operas in less than a year and a half then. Rossini came out with the opera that what made him an international superstar And an Aria area is what you call a solo song in an opera and that Aria from Rossini's opera Tancredi was so popular that everyone in Italy whistled and hummed it from gondoliers in the boats on canals in Venice to people sitting in jury boxes. So we're seeing reused the tune for a set of variations Because he composed so many operas in such a short time. Rossini actually early recycled a lot of material especially his overtures for instance Rossini Pin this overture on three different operas the first two flopped at the the last one was a huge hit. You've probably heard the overture to the barber of Seville in cartoons or commercials and you probably know the partner of me. He Oh ooh. Even though the barber of Seville is Rossini's best known most performed opera. It's opening night. Did Not go. Yeah well another composer already written an opera. Based on the play the barber of Seville so fans of his opera who didn't think the world was big enough for two Barbara of Seville came to Opera Tabu then during the performance. One Singer had trouble with a guitar. He was supposed to play and another singer trip and wound up with a bloody nose but no one paid any attention to them after a cat wandered onstage. Needless to say there's no part in the Barbara of Seville for a cat but eventually Rossini did write a duet for two cats. Yeah Wow Rossini. Any wasn't enormously successful composer he wrote forty operas in under twenty years and then when he was just thirty seven years old he quit but he went out with a bang. His last opera was about the Swiss hero William

Iran, Donald Trump And Trump Kim Jong Hoon discussed on Monocle 24: The Globalist

"Donald Trump, the US president has threatened, Iran with obliteration if it a tux anything American, the threat came after Iran's that new sanctions imposed by the United States are outrageous and idiotic saying that the White House is the commendably crippled, and that the plans to sanction both the supreme leader, Aleka, many and the Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will lead to the parmanent closure of the doors of diplomacy. Paul Rogers is professor of peace studies at Bradford university joins us on the line. Now pool give us the detail on Trump's Twitter meltdown to reacted extremely strongly to the comments by the Iran. Iranian president Dragani about twenty four hours ago, saying that essentially a Trump was mentally, deranged. In other words, there's an over the toll comment. This seems to got Mr. Trump really on the raw in his responded basically by saying that, you know, Iran is really beyond the pale underdeveloped comes to a war. Particularly if Iran actually threatens our even. Taxing their contracts. It will quote be obliterated. Now, this is a kind of language which we saw between Trump Kim Jong Hoon of North Korea. It's his style that at the same time, I think it's a watery because it means that after slight easing over the last forty eight seventy two hours is seems back in a state of high tension. There's another issue, which is come very recent which I think, has not yet been spotted fully. And that is the president of Iraq. The Kurdish politician, a hamster they has said that if the was any of conflict between the United States and Iran, then the Iraqis would not want American troops to be involved from Iranian from Iraqi territory towards Iran. Now the Americans have about five thousand troops in Iraq and this, I think he's actually politically significant behind Sally is the president. He has occurred, which is a normal customer in Iraq. It's a presidential woman's discernment rule. But he got. A very strong majority in the supreme council when he was elected a few months ago, and it's a foia at it's an indicator. The, the Americans cannot depend on the Iraqi government for full support, if there was a war, and this, I think will come as a bit of as a prize, and we'll probably make some headlines over the next twelve hours or so. Function kicked all of this off the new sanctions in which he appears to get the the wrong. I took many referring to the one that had died back in nine hundred thousand nine. What, what can you tell us about these new sanctions? The sanctions extraordinarily they seem to quite limited, but very narrowly focused focused on the current supreme leader Ayatollah having a a as you're say he actually described him as, as I talk. How many who of course, was the, the supreme leader and founder, the revolution who died over twenty years ago, and I think Mr. Trump has been held up, sadly, to some ridiculed in the region in the Middle East region. Because of this, the sanctions are directed against the supreme leader. And I think it is eight member. Seaney members of the Iranian revolution regard. Now as the raw, Iranians appointed out the supreme leader I a- telecom in a does not travel, and he doesn't have a financial interest abroad.

But if Fleming ever does start to ponder retirement. She may want to consider a move to Milan Italy. That's the home of CASA Verde a retirement community for opera singers and musicians founded by Italian composer, Giuseppe Verdi more than one hundred years ago, Rebecca Rosman paid a visit and set this report. Lena Lhasa is a soprano who spent her career performing in Italian operas around the world. Not that twenty years ago she settled here at CASA Verity tho quarter. This decree. She doesn't want to tell me how old she is. She's reluctant to reveal her real late.
