"Dana said, you know what? He asked how the podcast doing. I told him, I said, you know, how many subscribers? I said, I don't know, I think about 288,000, but I said, you know, I'd like to get to a million. And he said, we're going to we're going to help you a little bit. We're going to, I don't know, I think he said they're going to put it up on there. What would that be? That platform. Facebook's whatever's the website, whatever. So I can, again, I can say how appreciative I am just with his kindness. And his own humility. And the way he conducts himself, those things mean a lot to me. Organization there, even Dave Lockett, who does PR who helps us arrange the UFC. Again, and I told him, he said, will you appreciate you just being not only good or what you're doing? Obviously successful, but the kind of people you are. And then they're one of the most one of the matchmakers came up to me. Sean Shelby. Yeah, I made it. Yeah, it was a couple. And the first thing I had to say was, man, I wish we had you in boxing. Really? Because you guys make real fights. Competitive fights all the time. Consistently, which we don't do in boxing. Unfortunately. But it was a terrific night. And it was good having you then. It was and now we're together. So it's nice. And we got a lot to report on. Oh, we got a lot, but we've got some beautiful gifts going out to Dana and some of the crew at UFC, Robin had some beautiful jackets made up. You've seen one of them you have one. That I think your son in law is now. But yeah, those guys have been great. It's never lost, like you said, it's never lost on us how supportive they've been. And without the fans and without the support of guys at the DOC, we don't have the luxury of doing this.

"That it's my brand, I'm gonna care more about the brand that I care about individuals and we get a weekend, we get a week out, the audience, the MMA audience, the UFC and specifically audience knows that they're gonna get competitive fights. They know that the birds would three losses, two losses, one laws, ten losses, can beat the champion because they'd been forged in the fire because they been in with that kind of competition and they have become what the supposed to become. The best fighter they can be. A reliable fighter with whoever they get in the ring. That was grosso. And in boxing you don't get that because you got these different power promoters who control their little piece of real estate. They don't care about all the property of boxing. They don't care about all the fans of boxing. I know I'm going on a rant, but that's okay. They don't care about that. They care about their little piece of turf. And their network that they ever deal with. And they're going to take their guy that they signed up and they're going to feed the raw meat and the fans are going to suffer because they're going to build their record up until finally they put them in with somebody and then they're going to look to cash out. And that's a big item. That guy's good enough. He wins. If he's not, then you say, oh, he wasn't ready for that guy. Well, why the hell was it he ready? Because he, because you're giving him a bunch of lollipops and you're destroying the brand, your brand of boxing at that network because the fans aren't stupid. They have to while they are saying, hey, I don't want to watch these one sided, you know, blowouts. I'm going over to UFC and the audience has gone over. Even at my dismay, because I have a boxing guy. They have gone over your way. John, you guys have gotten the benefit of these greedy promoters just building the records of these guys not building the fighters up and not building the product to where the fans can rely on that product in a way that I just described. I love that rant. No, I want that rant when I get on the treadmill. If I ever get back on the treadmill, but you're absolutely right. And when I joined the UFC, I came from ESPN in 2011. Teddy and Ken, we didn't have a pronunciation guide. So there have been so many lengths that UFC has gone to, right to create this monster that we have right now. Even just in terms of the live production, right? Hiring producers from ESPN like Zach candido. Other people to build out this infrastructure so that we are ready to put our proverbial best foot forward and when there are combat sports fans that maybe are ripe for the taking, we feel like humbly, we have the best live event television product that there is out there. But you're absolutely right. And for Dana White too, their commitment to Mexico, it began like 2013, 2014, Lorenzo fertitta are matchmaker Sean Shelby. A lot of us have covered Alexa grosso's entire career and certainly three years ago she would have gotten steamrolled by Valentina Shevchenko. So it's really nice to see like that type of commitment. Hey, offer them in the form of three Mexican champions being crowned in the first three months of the year. It's a very special time to be a part of the UFC and even if you're not someone who can devote 7 hours, 41 Saturday nights a year. You're getting a main event from the UFC every 40 of 50 Saturdays that is absolutely worth your time. Every week, weekend and weekend, it's just the truth. The truth is the truth. It doesn't really need anybody to spice it up. It stands on its own. We can and we can. We can and week out, I hate to say it sometimes, but it's true. You're going to get a more reliable product from UFC than you're going to get from boxing, because Boggs and you might get one of those blowouts. Every once in a while and then the trumpets go out and good, everyone comes. You get to fight. You know it's going to be a good fight. But on the whole, on a weekly consistent basis, boxing doesn't do the job of matchmaking that you guys do. And for the reason I just went through and you used the word of mineral simple word ready. That's why Grasso won. You could talk about the mistake that was made. You could talk about all of that. You know, she did the spinning kit and she missed and she got, I get it. But the reason why grosso won from teddy Atlas viewpoint is because she was ready. She was formed. She was forged. She was, she was in the fire. She was made into a reliable fighter and the only way you get made into a reliable fighter is by being in competitive fights. It's that simple. Yeah. No, you're right. I mean, I feel like she was developed so optimally. And even though she publicly suggested that maybe she wanted one more tune up or one more fight before the championship opportunity once she was afforded that date and that opponent, obviously she left no stone unturned. And here we are. But I have to say, man, like in terms of the boxing stuff in like O three O four O 5 O 6, when I'm out there covering all these HBO pay per views, even a fuck like Bernard Hopkins against winky Wright that wasn't the biggest fight in the world.

"Probably three bikes. You know, a thousand milligram bites. For me, it was probably an 8 ball of Coke and. So one time I had the glass of wine before the drugs too, you know. Sean, how powerful is 3000 vicodins before a fight? A little come in thousand milligram. He must have met ten milligrams. Hydrocodone is a less powerful and oxycodone, but they're both very similar. But that's enough to have you not really care if you want to lose. And then there was a couple other fights that went on. Oh, Mike Jackson was one of the funniest things. I've seen. So Mike Jackson is a guy, they basically brought in the fight CM Punk. They were looking for a guy that could potentially beat or at least be because he was all in one. He had no amateur background. So they got another guy that was all in one, right? And Mike Jackson was ended up beating up CM Punk, but didn't know where he said he wanted to punish him. So he didn't finish the fight. He kind of made like a mockery. They got bull out of the thing, both of them. And then Dana White was like pissed at him because he was like, dude, you're wasting everyone's time. And he's like, I want to teach him a lesson. Then he tested positive for weed and it didn't even count or something. It was like no contest, right? So I guess when he fought CM Punk, he had like a three fight contract with the UFC and I guess part of the contract was like they can't cut you after a win. That's what they've told me. Sean Shelby told me that they can't cut you after you win. Like it's in the contract. So they technically had to have them on the fight. So now here he is 6 years later. What? He fought again in the UFC. Over the whole weekend. It was the first fight, right? So they announced them as O one and one, right? All wanted no contest. And he fights a guy, I think the guy was from, I think he was from Ireland. Dude, so okay, wait, wait, wait, would you be before you go any further? I'm looking at the odds on this fight. Going into it. And before the fight, Mike Jackson was plus 700 and the guy who was fighting was -11 25. Okay, go ahead. The guy does. The guys are real fighters. So within the first minute of the fight, for some reason, the guy claws Mike's eyes out, like two eye rogues, and then and then he kicks him in the dick, right? So then he's been trying to. So they had actually had it, they actually had it Mike. So I'll play the thing for you, right? So then you hear Mike complaining cut the mic. Okay, right here, hold on. You can actually hear him, right? So he can sit. And spin. Low blood. No coaching guys..

"I'm cap in your ass or it's gonna get ugly. Yeah i shouldn't. I shouldn't put words in his mouth but i i think he's implying that and remember he did the so. You guys can't see right now. What the video remember we did the little pistol to the head motion like like i'm on assassin. Like i will end you that type of stuff. We're hearing a little bit more. That out of guys in may. And i don't know if this is the part where i'm not liking were kinda rappers. Do the same thing you know what i mean so i'm trying to look up what hair-trigger means. I should have done it before the show because this is something i saw a few days ago. Hair-trigger in urban dictionary says let's see here. I don't know that's a quote from a movie or web Type of gun triggered the requires a very small amount of pressure to respond. also can Very short time there you know so. I don't know what he's saying but he kinda wanted to just end it and that's about the time where this whole thing ended between conor mcgregor Says but that was one of the better ones Yeah you than the other guy says. It's not that hitting arms in commentary screaming with me it. Silence and holes in the head there. You go getting more specific there Brown volunteer he'll blunt force trauma to the brain. Not so much so his legal. He'll but all that blunt force trauma to nate diaz his brain. You know it's not gonna that's what he's saying eight. Yeah i kind of like that. And the nate. Joe's a picture of it says a now you dead in looks like that's what he choked out connor and needs walking away so when i said they had pictures in memes in gifts that added to this. And that's why it was good all right. So that's that folks. of course. All this was on. Emi junkie you can always check it out The drama of the sport is big. Nowadays is all. I can say and these are two of the bigger names. How sean o'malley explaining why he turned out. Frankie edgar for you. Seek to sixty eight november. This guy can. I don't think he can lose fans any any faster except i don't think he really is. But normally this kind of lose you fans. He doesn't wanna find new yorkers he just doesn't want to pay the taxes and it seems like he he's biggest just more convenient for him but now he's not fighting Frankie edgar because they give it to marlin. I don't know who is gonna fight but remember he's not in a hurry to fight rank guys. What's this guy doing like does he not realize there's gonna be other fighters start to chase him down in. He may have blown two years of his life trying to play too much chess mainly but So far so good. It seems like i mean. Again i go back to the ufc. These guys are only gonna take what what you allow them to take. So if this particular move pisses. Ufc often enough. Then we're going to see that. And sean o'malley's next booking right but he he's in this position because the ufc put him in that position. They gave him that little amount of power that he has. I guarantee you. He builds his a lot bigger than it actually is but it is there. He just hold some cards. You're right you know we saw was that the the all fight woodley got good pop there. I've seen him around before. And seeing fans flocked to people like this kit A lot of people don't read these types of stories where they start to hate him because of that type of stuff muslim people in that arena. Don't even know those types of things they just. They just see us performance their members last performance. I go man. He'd beat the hell out of that kid. He has a little bit of power that the ufc gave him. The you have seen put their foot down now. And i think we're gonna know with that next booking just where they stand in the shadow o'malley business. Well here's why i think him. I think he's wrong because he said you know at one point him in sean shelby weren't getting along with the hash. It out bro. I've known these guys for a long time. I'm not saying they're digs or anything like that but they do not like to get shown up when they want you to work they want you to work and it just seems too much but listen if they were willing because france didn't wanna fight one month earlier to create this whole interim thing and that's the bad is man on the planet who could for sure outdraw. Sean o'malley trust me. I'm not certain that they're completely Going to just get over it and just give him vegas because he asked for vegas. You know. I just think there's other fighters more popular than sean o'malley who but it has with and just went past them masbate all versus a. Who's on the first time when matzahs prices to highly said we're going with burns. Mazraa got lucky that burns got coded and he flew with one week. Notice the down there any debate. When it doesn't always work out for these guys you know and again some of these are bigger than o'malley o'malley is yet to really beat any of the top fighters i think he thinks he's more of of further along than he really is and again. These are key years. Where i think he could have already been been that guy he's i think farting around too much with any for this bigger contract and i. I think he was playing. Honestly i think of asked frankie frankie edgar and if you pay a little bit more in taxes while if you're just this money making machine saw a lot of reeboks and you've got your own strain of of Marijuana and all these other you know advertising opportunities in that should shore up your taxes. A little bit gig taxes. Ain't that much you know what i mean Anyway moving on combating global says fight night bonuses available only for kobe vaccinated athletes a while. That was one of the more Glaring headlines that road this week of course if you tie in what's happening with the world they're not outta line in a sense that it seems like we're seeing stuff like that delta airlines said if you work for us and you don't have the vaccine you're gonna pay two hundred dollars more a month insurance premiums there some concerts that are saying either the whole festival or the concert itself unless you're vaccinated. You're not getting in so we're seeing a lot more this but in may we haven't seen something this specific. What were your thoughts on this if you're going go to their party you gotta follow their rules. That's just what it comes down to. If you're fighter and you don't like it plenty of places you can you can go but at another. You're going to the money that you would have made in that situation. I don't want anybody that's gonna combative. The not enjoyed their time there. I haven't really heard anybody say bad things about that's the stance they wanna take. It's their party. their rules pretty much. And i don't think this will wind up biting him in the ass other than maybe a fighter or two but i don't think commodity is unstable and i don't think they have any type of price possession that all they can do. Maybe sit out but basically not go their way. They probably have sure have pretty tight contracts. Where if they don't wanna let you go. They won't unless they get something in return..
