"Look I mean if if the blazers were out of the playoffs in a normal regular season, of course, he played out the stretch, but in this situation, asking him and the team to fly all the way to say Orlando to play meaningless games when the season is essentially over, then that didn't probably doesn't make too much sense so just. It still came out bad show on just the idea that people out of work and it just sounded like a guy saying you know. I'm not playing gay. Just it came off the wrong way I have. And I. Don't disagree with you. Rob I think, but context is everything and you also have to know Damian Lillard. He is a CA-. Nobody plays harder. Nobody shows up more nights. This guy and take nightstop doesn't take performances off. Take possessions off. He loved basketball. Okay, maybe it didn't come out the right way to people who don't know him, but you know Damian. Lillard you know that he earns his keep. And people in Portland. He's beloved there. Sean how how important is the NBA have to be careful not to tinker too much to the play offs not to tinker too much. With changes so much stuff that you don't. Devalue the championship and it doesn't turn into a Mickey Mouse Championship in Orlando Because you've got bells and whistles, and you jump through hoops to change the play offs. Or Rob. That's a great question. look I mean history is going to say what history is GonNa say, and we all have our opinions about you know what's legitimate championship back to the nineteen eighties when you know the Celtics and Lakers were playing each other every year to me. That championship weighs more than say the Lakers beating up on the New Jersey Nets back in the Kobe shack years only because. You had the Lakers. And the and the Celtics play each other. Those were great great epoch teams, but the bottom line is history. Shoot will probably just reflect a championship is a championship is a championship. You know I mean. Are we going to go back in? Nitpick all the Bill Russell. Championships and say you know. The guy only really had sick you though because. Teams back then as well. And that's what I'm saying. Look, we all have our opinions on that, but aside from that I don't think there's really the NBA nothing. The NBA can do just trying their best to finish the season and to you know just to have some sort of you know. I. Don't know just having it'd be now. The endings not going to satisfy everybody, but here's the other thing. I think a big push just to have. To reach a conclusion has to do Lebron. James you know here's a guy who's healthy. WHO's an MVP candidate and he is going to be a ratings of magnet for you know the TV networks who've lost millions of dollars, if not billions and millions of dollars so far I, think if this was last year and Lebron was hurt and unable to play, would we? Would we see this big? You know massive. Push to finish the season. Well I think. I think they try to finish the season, but it just seems like right now. There's a much more meaningful push because you know. You have the game biggest box office draw. He's healthy and his team is in position where the championship So you know, that's the elephant in the room that nobody's talking about. They don't want to put that out there, but it's not clear. The broadest healthy team has a chance to win a championship, and he is the antidote for. Like this where the League and a network need a savior, he's the savior. "Com. Sean before we talk about NBA rack, I know your big Steeler fan. What did you think of Antonio Brown to the raiders and bell going to the jets? Well, I mean say what you will about their their attitude, and how how they went about their business and everything you don't get better as a team when you lose those two. And so that's really the bottom line here. How this is going to replace him. I don't know. I mean, it's just not that easy. I mean, you're talking about players who at their best were among the top three or four their position right around there. Right. And still had a long history of very good drafts. And and developing players and things like that. But also keep in mind that Ross Benes on the clock. Now. I mean, you can't assume that he's going to be play at this level for another two three four years. So it's sort of like the Lakers. I'm not comparing him to LeBron James. But the bottom line is the Lakers around the clock with LeBron. They've got to build around him in the next two or three years or they're not gonna win the championship. And it's the same thing with the Steelers data. Rebuild around your office. Burger I gotta do it within the next couple of years or his, you know, his take on Super Bowls is over. What do you think of the honestly the egg on the face of the Lakers, and frankly genie magic pulling the entire organization after well? Let's face facts. They got LeBron James. And then you know, I was in L A. He's all over the city. I mean, literally is God there. He's on every billboard. He's on every side of every building. When you go to Staples. It's all about him. And then the season they had was so atrocious. How bad do they all look? I mean, honestly. Well, you know, I'm going to be a little less harsh on them. Then most people for this very reason they weren't. I don't think your plan was even to do anything special this year period. They knew that this was all about the summer of twenty nineteen. They work on a bringing helpful LeBron's in year one that would jeopardize her cap space. That's why they brought in a bunch of guys on one year contracts. Okay. That's why they didn't resign. Julius randle. That's why they didn't keep Lou Williams. I mean, they didn't wanna clock Kathy caused their goal is not to surround the with a three good player. They wanted to surround the bronze with stars who would take up some cap room. So, you know, they they I think what this is more. It's more than Arison than it is any kind of long term harm. It's an embarrassment. Not to make the playoffs. Okay. If they had made the playoffs. They probably would have been bows out in the first round and one another reason why I'm a little bit harsh less harsh than most people. Lebron hurt Brahms hurt hurt. When I have this conversation. Also Rondo hurt. He missed almost month. You know football hurt missed basically too much 'cause you're not coming back. So I think we have to keep it in a little bit of context and perspective. I get it. Lebron James we're so used to him planning in June make an a playoff that we've all become spoiled. And then when he comes to the Lakers. I mean, that's a legendary player joining a legendary franchise. And so I think the expectations were a bit. Well, I'm not I'm not taking out the vote they should be in the playoff, even but the Brown being hurt it has some bad office. I get it. But I don't think they were designed to do anything special this year. Anyway, now, we're having this conversation this time next year. Then that's a problem. Thank quiet. Leonard is gonna go there not the Lakers, but then a clippers or do you think you'll stay because people are asking me tonight. If it will stay in Toronto or go back to LA. Hey, if you can read quiet, Leonard, you'll be the first we none of us know, we can always sit here and say, we think he's going to do this. Kawhi letter of all the players who are approaching free agency climate is the toughest read maybe it has actually been good for him because he's been able to play this season. Not worry, you know, not hear his name being bandied about this. He taught contributing to it. He's quite a letter. So nobody's gonna figure him out. I can I can tell you what my gut feeling is. My gut feeling is that he's going to go to the clippers. But it wouldn't surprise me. If he resigned in Toronto. Yeah. Me neither to be honest with you. I think as situation there is is really fluid and good to be honest with you. I wonder if he's realizing that more and more as he plays. Let me ask you about some other situations. What do you think will happen with in the summer with Anthony Davis at the end of the day? Do you think he's gonna end up in Boston or? I don't think we know yet because we don't know the order of the NBA draft. And because some of these teams that are going to go after Anthony Davis in a trade. We they can't draft picks and like the Lakers are going to have a lottery pick. Now never would have expected that by the way, the Knicks will have a lottery pick, the Celtics will I guess they have don't have Sacramento's pick, whatever. And it looks like the kings not gonna make cloud. So we have to know the order up. So that's why the the NBA the draft lottery in the second second. We can make a big big day because that determines who's going to have some goods to package to get a D now. You know, you could say a team like the Knicks. They get the first pick. You're not going to throw that to to New Orleans for Andy, at least, I don't think they would. But maybe a team with the second pick. Maybe that second pick is good enough if you can package it with some of your current players, and maybe a future number one pick. So we don't know we don't know right now. And Anthony Davis us know either. What do you think Sean Powell does MBA dot com? What do you think of the warriors performance tonight in Houston? Well, I mean, what are the warriors are going to have blow out the rockets or get blown out? I don't think it have any impact on what might happen in springtime, if those two teams meet I I'm a big believer in the rockets. I mean, I think people are sleeping on him. Big time. This is a team. I believe they had either the best record or second best record since January first or right around there. You know, they've gone from a team that was missing Chris, Paul. And then Clint Catala and needed James harden to go crazy in order to rise on that. That added Kenneth free who yeah, he's not Trevor REEs. It doesn't do what? Trevor REEs at different this team last year criminal defense and all that. But he's actually had a career revival. And he looks pretty good and pretty solid for the rockets. I would probably trust use them where I would trust. Denver more aggressive, Oklahoma City more trailblazers saying any of those teams wouldn't wouldn't shock me. They got you know to play wars and final, but absolutely expects to Houston there. What do you think of Westbrook's problems in Utah with those fans there? Look, you know in the internet age, it's very easy to smear everyone because of the actions of Excu. I've been to Salt Lake City and bene- games, Utah lots of times and some of the people that are good people. You know, look, it's takes them. That society, we tend to judge a group of people body accident of a couple of knuckleheads, I'm not gonna do that. I'm probably not going to do that. This guy was out of line. And I think Russ was outta line. You don't written to physically harm woman, particularly in this day and any time really? But particularly in this day and age. So I think everybody I think both part I think the reaction is five both parties I lie. And by the way, let me just ask. What makes a grown man stand up from his seat? And. Yeah, any professional athlete free reason. Seriously. I I never understood that sit down shut up. Loosely your own team? Why are you yelling it? Somebody else. Another athlete. I've never done that in my life. Okay. Yeah. I don't drink. So maybe that has you know, maybe that's a factor. I don't know. But I never understood why fancy L disparaging comments at someone. They don't know. And by the way, but they do and they and they will and they will continue to do. So. And you know, it it's I I agree with you that I don't do that. I don't scream at pro athletes or anyone for that matter. But, but it is a is something that happens every night everywhere, and it will continue to do. So it's never gonna hand. I mean, you've got guys in soccer going on to pitch and punch in a player in the face this week. Yeah. Well, that again, that's, but let me just say this guy wouldn't never say that if he saw wrestler street and ever saw these players on the street. They would be asking for autographs. They would never say that the type of thing they said apple and by the way, like I said, I'm going to go. Back to Russ Russ is to thin skin Russ just a couple of weeks ago when Rusk somebody asked about criticism and rested. You know, what I'm blessed with the talent to not give a you know what? Well, guess what? He ain't blessed. With that talent. We saw that. We saw him come unhinged. If someone is if you're an athlete. Why why would you care? But why would you you don't know him? He no you play your game. Man. If you're thinking about what some Fanta saying to you. That means you're concentration on the game is being distracted. Right. And you're not even concentrating McCain. So now, I'm with you. Do you feel that the Toronto and in these Milwaukee and this team Toronto are they legit? You think they're gonna do something in the blast. Besides what they always do which is nothing. Well, the problems in west now. So yeah. Legit because you know, the cats away so. Somebody's gotta come out of the east. You know, someone who's never been. There is going to be it's gonna be Boston or Toronto Milwaukee. You know, maybe Philly it can't help but to be there because LeBron's an east anymore. So we won't see, but they're really made up until they get to the NBA finals. Yeah. No doubt about it. Sean grade stuff tonight. It's always pleasure to have you on the bench, brother. Thanks so much for.

I think in the opening quarter at the Toyota center down in Houston Tejas, by the way won't be in tomorrow. Allegedly are headed to Dallas for spans Garcia on box paper views, Saturday night, a Jerry's world AT and T stadium. So we'll be there tomorrow night and Friday Night Live from Jerry's world. And then Saturday, we're gonna go see the waterway championship of the. Woo. I'm all for it. Craig Morgan covers the coyotes for the athletic and Arizona is gonna join us in ten forty tonight. Canary berry go somewhere and jumpstart his career. Tyler Mary Acis is pro day in Norman today to further solidifies Sanchez. Do you think it dead for the top pick in the draft? Carbonara? I just can't understand why these days they're sitting in those stadiums are even indoors like they were at Oklahoma today. They're throwing uncovered receivers and shorts. I just don't see how much you can really take out of them. Right. When real game action that you watch them play the more than right? Watch a throat uncovered receivers all over the place. I would agree with that. But you know, how they are with.

"Com. That's books dot com. Diangelo Russel turns career round Dinwiddie carousel avert, man. They're they're really fun team to watch in interesting to see what they're gonna do in the playoffs. You what do you think about the upcoming Brooklyn next year, you're echoing owed? I said that's why I said when we are NBA guest, Sean Powell up. I think he's a legit coach you to your candidate. I put you on hold their one. Here's here's the thing. About Malone Malone could move up or down. 'cause you're right. They have had significant injuries. Not just to key players, but key players and a lot of them. Right. But they're all getting healthy at some point. They're all going to be okay to Blais the biggest name of which is is. At Thomas who has been a great playoff player and a guy who hasn't necessarily fit at times if he doesn't have the right mix around him. It's gonna continue to test Malone 'cause he's going to have to make tough decisions. And or find a way to balance things and a workout chemistry between these guys. And if he does and they stay in the top two in the Western Conference. You're right. He's probably gonna win coach of the year. But it's not a given. And just bringing guys back doesn't always mean, you're going to get better. Because of addition sometimes addition leads the subtraction. And you're not as good because the chemistry gets altered and or goes backwards. So Malone is still got a lot of work ahead of him, which could make his job even more impressive or it could actually bring him back to the pack a little bit. Yes. Spot on end up just talking about the local team Sixers. I'm really fascinated to see what they're gonna do here with Jimmy Butler because are they gonna maximum out give that hundred nine meal job your six hundred playing really good ball. You're hearing all these stories that Jimmy Butler is causing havoc in the organization. What the players once again, what do you think they do you think is a possibility before the trade deadline here in next week that they they'll move him. Do you think they maximum? I don't think they'll let them walk. So I'm really interesting because I don't think they want to give them that hundred nine ninety million dollars max deal. I just think his personality is is really tough to deal with. And it seems like wherever you goes players and guys in the franchise don't deal with them. Well, but you know, the other part of that is the seventy six playing great basketball. They're gonna probably be a top two or three seed here. I'm really interested to see what your thoughts on how this is gonna play out is a very good question. And it's a fair one and night. I'll give my speculation. But don't hold me. To drooping told I don't know what they're gonna do. And I don't think the is no right now with only twelve days before the trade deadline's what they're gonna do either. So how could how could I know if I believe that they don't really they're not locked in? I think they're open to different possibilities. They have to do something. They can't just let him walk away at the end of the season. If you don't trade him. I think you're obligated to give him the money and make up work go forward. I think letting him get the free agency and then playing the game and seeing if you can somehow talked quite Leonard into becoming a six or which I think is highly unlikely doesn't work, and if you go somewhere else, and you're just left sitting there with cap space. I'm sorry. The process has gone too long already. And if you're going to sell me on well another year of patients will be aggressive on the free agent market next year. No that doesn't work. They're supposed to be contenders already. And so far they've got one playoff round victory under their belt. What do you think I propose hockey fans joined greater Fort Lauderdale for the ultimate pre-game party with cakes and.

"I go play basketball just about every day in my life and train and ball and run, and such and I told mafia today that at one point I had Pink Floyd comfortably numb. On my Sirius app rocking. Right. And I gotta tell you listen to that cranked up while training, and running is just awesome. What a great town. I mean. I don't care what you say. That's never dies. It's just the most fantastic song to shred to like once a year like really loud in your head. Believe me, you it'll make you feel better Powell people is back on the mahogany waxing poetically in morning from the Steelers losses down the stretch and failure to make the playoffs. Sean Powell is not shaved since the Steelers blew the AFC north. How you doing pal to the people? Why would you bring that up? You should be suffering along with me, man. I am. I am it's awful. And they and they made me so mad. I just everything made me mad even that last possession by Mayfield when he went forward on board than ten and that didn't work that that made me mad. So I blame him too. I blame everyone in Cleveland. Anyway, I hope you're well, happy new year talk to me about I want to start with explained to me. This whole thing that I was hearing about today about the Lakers death line up. What the hell is that mean? Well, first of all, I think a guy named LeBron James actually, get healthy. Right. But yeah, that's that's basically a lot. We know center like the warriors. But I mean, you know. I mean, it's been tested. I think it's nice to throw it out there. But until you're going to do something with it until you can show that you can. Sustain it turned the season around. I know that the Brown from game. Whatever, Dan, it's just the title. Do you think that there 'cause they're in aids by right now, and they got a couple of game lead over the jazz kings T wolves at Sarah pelicans are all right there. But do you think that they're worthy of all of this? I get it the LeBron attention. But do you think the rest of them are worthy of the attention? They've received this year from I mean, literally, everyone nationally. Well, the attention is pretty much centered around the Brown James everybody else for the most part. Yeah. Know, you have some benefits I'm here like Lance Rondo. But for the most part, the is unchanged from last year of all the teams you mentioned Utah Portland Lakers. All those teams right there. Looking around the H spot the Lakers or the tunein have the least worry for because Utah healthy blazers are healthy the Lakers on healthy. So you figure they've got some upside they've got the higher ceiling. Of course, they've got the better player. So let me ask you. When you watch the warriors how much of an infusion of buggy do they need and do you believe the eighteenth? Rumors that are going around that he's ready to come back in the first game would be against. I believe the clippers. Why wouldn't use the word need heavily because the warriors? They don't go. The warriors aboard it's the season regular seasons in a way. I don't really pay too much attention to their so-called weakness is right now. Yeah, they haven't released alone a lot of teams out lately except for the Knicks. And and that's where that's where we're judging him by right now. Well, the warriors FM blown anybody out in like went two three days which holiday, so I don't take the warriors because to win another championship. But look heat a national insurance policy to have, you know, bring him back. The challenge for them is to try to sort of tweet themselves on the fly here because we really haven't had training camp. Like that. And you know, he's a good player. These we think we'll see how he recovered from his injury. How do they best utilize him and get the most out of him? Without disrupting you're slow. That'll be the challenge for Steve Kirk. What do you think Gianpaolo MBA dot com? What do you think of CLYDE Frazier is comments about Durant? This is over the summer that he deserved an asteroid on the list of all time greats because of his success because it came with the warriors. He also said he's one of the best in the world. Everybody flipped out about it this and that, but I guess my real question is I could care less. What CLYDE Frazier said? Although I think he might have something there. I think the real issue is are you sniffing that this guy could actually end up with the New York. Knicks the way he's kind of it. I don't think he's given Macci might have hinted here. They're like talking about porzingas talking about Knox. Is he interested in in New York because if we end up, and I'm saying we because I've been watching this team suck for twenty years living here, and I'm about done with it. So. Oh, I can't take it anymore. They need something. Good to happen to this franchise. You think they'll ever get him? Would be a little surprised if he were to go to Nick if he did is probably cost. He's just winning championships. You know? That's no slam to the Knicks particularly not a Kevin Durant away from going anywhere. And I can't say that it poor thing is coming back healthy. They just have no more than a few holes. Don't have to feel for me to start to think that they're better than Milwaukee. Toronto for Boston and Philadelphia in the east, and you know, who who knows what the Wessel of like another year or two. But I think Kevin to look I don't know what. Kevin Durant is gonna do. I suspect you'll probably stay with the war is gonna open up a new building next year. And I still want to be a part of that. But again, you know, sometimes after guys you you've seen it in sports guy won a Super Bowl. Now. He goes he wants to go get his money somewhere for a guy wins, a couple Stanley Cups NBA championship. Now, he's looking for new horizons a bigger bolder challenge, if that's the case, we're a bigger challenge than with the Knicks. Do you think the next you heard today about the Kanner Zach Randolph possibility of a deal? I you know, I was like Zach Randolph does even play in the NBA anymore. Like he's been inactive all year. And it sounds like they're going to get rid of Kanner. And what do you think of that guy with all of his maturations about Turkey and the president? He's convinced they're trying to kill him. And everything is he lost his mind. You know, I don't know if it's real. That's yes. She's paranoia. I'm not too much in tune with the the. The political ways of Turkey and our relate. Maybe I should have studied up on on the air with you. But I will say that you know, any trade of Cantu is just the money soi. I mean, he's in the last year deal actually, a fairly decent office player, but he plays no defense, and he's a corporate guy. So, you know, then the Knicks aren't gonna extended him, and it's just a really good. That would just be an accountant thing if they were to trade implore Zach Randolph nothing. So I gotta tell you. I actually think that team I love that young team to be honest with you. I know they're not the greatest team in the world. But I like watching buddy on I like watching dare and FOX, and I think that there's you know, all kinds of reasons to be excited about Bagley Cauley Stein bogdonovich. I actually think they got some some players on that team to be honest with you Justin Jackson. I didn't. They got a future if they could figure it out with the right types of pieces to go with it. Do you think the raptors can convince Kawhi Leonard to stay in Toronto? Because of all the winning the way they play. It's a great city. Everyone says he's going to do you think there's a chance they could keep him. How is that question the second? But I'm going to go back to Jack mental how much better with a be if they had taken dodged, and that's no offense to back. But can you imagine back three man rotation with Luca and FOX buddy healed that would have been something to behold and all those guys like twenty three and younger. I agree. I agree with you. I thought that they would have felt it they'd fill it up. Now, imagine if they had Android in twenty five game that would be amazing. But as far as quiet, Leonard. I mean, nobody's been able to figure him out. I mean, he doesn't talk express themselves to this hand. I know the Toronto's rolled out all the stops. No, the red carpet and. Got playing. They're still not playing in back to back games. And I suspect that was done before you know, before the season they went to him says now, we know about you injury history. And you know, how you feel about that? And this is what we're gonna do for you. And I think that's just sort of curry favor with him to try to get him to stay just to show that they're s concern about Islam jeopardy. And his long term health as they are about what he can do from the CC. So, but anyway, be that as a may medical. Why doesn't even know what he's gonna do next summer? I think a lot depends on number one. How do the raccoons are with him this easy and how much better he thinks making get with him in the years to come? When he looks over to see, you know, Patrick Siachen playing out of his mind and taking the next step is a good young player. I think that bodes well for Toronto. So they played in Houston the night the box and rockets and John had at this point with about seventeen seconds left in that game. They were at Greek freak twenty seven and twenty one boards. Amazing. I think it's the second time Ron that. He's done the twenty plus on each of those points and rebounds, and then hardens rock and a forty two ten six chip tonight. Who's your MVP between those two because they are clearly in the lead. You know, man, that's such a tough call right now. I I guess I would have to say Janas only because his team had a better in by the way, I hate that part of the whole MVP discussion or worse his team. It's an individual award. And yes, I get it if he's good. He's helped me teammates out then that should be considered. Yes. But at the same time. Can can can anyone say that Janas doing more for his team right now than James harden has the rockets have you did you see their record before he went on this? And you see where they are right now. Yeah. They were disaster. Yeah. Feeling was over season was over. Was album. Chris Paul still out. So I think right now, you know, it's a toss up. But I mean, if you had to push me in that direction novice say on this on the basis of his entire season and not just the last month and a half. But man, you know, Jane cardis is he's making a close right now. Great stuff as always, Sean, Sean, pow pow said of people on Twitter, MBA dot com. You can check out his calms or the best, Sean. "Here's the game plan. Listen, mcdade's, mealy Scruggs. This by walk out to the rim and just missed a bunny. All. Some nice dribbling played hardworking left baseline on decker. Facts of off of the corner goes one on one step back at shoot three. Got it to go to the NBA leading score averaging just under that. Season. The rockets the first two hundred was still fifty seconds to go with the thirty lead one on one eighty five. Houston Rockets laid it on the Washington. Wizards one thirty six two one eighteen Craig Ackerman, the Rockettes radio network. I do this is just this is bad. Twenty six three pointers made by the Houston Rockets twenty six NBA record and people are talking about Houston. Ca can I talk about well bad? Washington's defense is terrible. Terrible. All right. I'm no he's crisis. Bring in Sean pal NBA dot com to talk about this wizards team, and the rockets who look like they're heading up in the right direction was sixteen and fourteen wizards twelve and twenty so what should we be talking about more, Sean the rockets make it twenty six or the heat the wizards just given up twenty six. I would probably say the wizards only because they added Trevor Aretha for that very reason to bring leadership and primitive defense and. In his second game as a as a member of the wizards and his first game against his former team the rockets happened. So, you know, the rocket. It may not be as they were last year and all that. But the wizards I mean for a team with a number six, hey role and. Their core players are all in their palm. You're talking Otto porter John wall and Bradley. Doc are all their prime and two of them are all stars. And yet look where they are in the standings. I think that's a. Disappointed. Houston took eighty five total shot in the game. And sixty of them were uncontested, according to the NBA second spectrum data, which basically do they didn't care, and I watched them play earlier this year when they came into play Dallas and all the defensive effort shell, and this is embarrassing. And it's almost dog on you got a good owner who's paid people money, and there is not performing it's almost unfair to the owner and the fans away these guys will put out any effort. Yeah. And you know, that's one thing. He says I'd be better than this. But again. After you know, you're not just after bunny Austin for them. On the other. And you know, you wonder John walls and very good. So it's crappy THEO all importers up and coming off reported hundred better free. But these guys all got paid. And you wonder whether or not today brings something different every year. All the great players. They come back improve in one area. Mostly that area is we. What are these three guys? How are they different this year than they were last year? And I'm having a hard time coming up the second. About NBA dot com. Joining us right here on the newest crux show. You recently wrote a piece about Metta world peace finding peace and mental health tells more. Well, I mean, this is a this is really a success story. This is someone who, you know, if you followed the wrong career, you know, he had some episodes where you know, he had anger management problems. He did things that were kind of unconventional and these things just sort of happened. But never knew what was happening underneath and for him to come out with his story. Well, before the Marta Rosen and others, you know, really happy, you know. You know, they have the guts to come out, and what they were gone through a lot. Tests did it when it wasn't so fashionable and even it made it that. He he battled, you know, mental illness right after the NBA finals the Lakers. So but in retirement, he is carried the light. He has been a. Force for change for awareness. He works with organization. He donated his championship rings to help fund mental illness programs. He owns his own business. He went back to school is doing well, one of the bigger accepted to Ivy league. So this is a story for someone who has had issues throughout his NBA career. He had a mouse in the palace fight lost much money. All that stuff. He's doing well from south. And you know, I would imagine a lot of people look at him. And his example say they're pretty proud of how far he's come. Which sport of the major sports, you think has done the best job of trying to help address the issue. I mean, the NBA right now is just fresh on my mind. You know, I I don't know the nuts and bolts of what the NFL is basically baseball or the NFL. Maybe they've done things. I'm just not aware of. But the NBA a special my mind because you have. All stars coming for. And also you can see the collaboration between the league and the ambulance. In terms of raising awareness, encouraging players to sell. Oh, you know. There's no stigma attached this anymore. People deal with the everyday everyday people deal with where wealthy people deal with the people from all cultures. So I stayed at the NBA, especially my mind, and what they're doing is is commendable trying to tell people that you know, what there's no shame and seeking help for this. Sean pallor guess right here on NBC sports radio's newest Greg show several Christmas day games coming up. How to players feel about these Christmas day games? I think ordinarily. In a perfect world. They would be with their families with their kids and open up the that morning things like that. But look it weird for them to complain when you know, the average MBA players making six seven eight million dollars and their kids don't have to worry about but at presences Christmas. So nobody says anything and the other thing is that you know, I think most of them are hard. Okay with it because the sedition our tradition, but their games are on front and center, there's no football to compete with after you know, the, you know, Christmas morning. NBA half the country's attention. So. The kings or for the most part compelling if you're plan on Christmas day except for the Knicks. You're probably going to be a pretty good team. So we've got good things. We've got of course, the, you know, the headliner is LeBron James going to play the warriors. The first time this season nothing to Oakland. So I think they take it as it, partly as a minor nuisance. But also, an author, Sean Powell thank you much. May I have Christmas to new all these near your show? I just wanna to say what a pleasure then. And I hope to cross passage forget. All right. Bye, man. Thank you. Okay. Jouko NBA dot com. "That's the case with clay. And again, I have to see a larger staff size really know for sure this is something that could strips Wellington TV and be problematic. But again, you have to give a guy like that the businesses about and also understand for the warriors a very long, but most team the goes to the second of April before the war is it's a very long season this guy mushrooms in the regular season. But just catches five in the postseason. Yeah. Nothing. It really doesn't. So we gotta find something to talk about the beginning of it. Because the warriors are saying that they need to find ways to work more open shots for clay to get him into a more of a rhythm. Is there truth to that? I don't know. I think sometimes players and coaches will safe thing to try to relieve the pressure on the player. I don't. Are drastically less than it has been before. I I don't see that. They haven't changed the system there. The players the makeup of the team at the same as last year. So I don't necessarily see that. But sometimes teammates and coaches will try to relieve the pressure on player about oh where he's not the problem where the pop we're not doing what we can't put him in this exceeds. I don't necessarily think that's the case. I I would say that if this was a case in first year with them. Pretty awkward between the two or some other sort of phnomenom that came in that's different from last year the previous years, but this is virtually the phone, and it's virtually the same system. So I think sometimes players and coaches kinda save after the guy that you know, what? You know, a lot of pressure on me. And you know, I just really need to leave it and just go back playing ball. How long will LeBron's stay patient in LA? Oh, I think she'll be patient. I see him. I think he's. Signs of progress every day. We're not in classes with him. So we don't know what's going on. But we can see during the game. If you look at mom's oh ball is playing pretty well for someone who's this virtually the entire season. Kaku Sma shooting come and gone. But he's got some big games. Josh causes been the best three point shooter and playing pretty good defense on a team that doesn't shoot reporters. Well, and also doesn't play defense too. Well. Coming from. I mean, all of a sudden here's a guy who went from maybe getting of the game. Golden State one meal. Well, he just took fewer shots and LeBron James. So I think we'll Bronx progress. I think they had like a I don't know. I Washington Wizards start or or Cleveland Cavaliers start. Maybe that was get room. Lakers right now, I'm going pretty well. Even though they had a losing record. And let's check back with him right around the holidays were they I think that they'll probably in the top six in the west by day is Daryl Morey I got like a minute left is Daryl Morey desperate because of what's been offered. Reportedly for Jimmy Butler. I mean good God. I don't wanna use the word best somewhat concerned because that is better than ex record. Yes. You got some suspension James harden has a hamstring issues. But he's a he's a general manager can be a little bit impatient. He's not shy about triggers. And then looking can't make sure the rocks contention with hard. Sean. I thank you very much for the time, my friend, all the very best. We'll do it again soon. Sean Powell joining us MBA dot com app. How did a people on Twitter? Make sure you on Twitter again at piloted, the people with the with the rockets, I think it's a matter of time. How much reportedly for something like that in the future? And you're gonna die at all. You want your offering that much that desperate for it? Golden State when you know, you're a great team. When you make other teams worse when you make other good teams worse. That's how good Golden State is eight five five two one two four CBS eight five five two and two four two two seven coming up next. A message to Boston. They win another World Series. "So Sean Powell gonna join us NBA dot com. We have Nick on is that what you were saying. All right still trying to get Nick. So we'll try to get Nick here momentarily. Nick shook going to be joining us coming up to go around we gate and everything, and I need just re tweeted me, so I know he's waiting so we'll get to them as soon as we possibly can Mitch Trubisky was the cat's asked today if you're a bears fan, and I'll bring this up again in the midnight hour after Sunday night football. And so on you gotta be excited about it. Because to go in to your own place, wearing a Halloween costume of the legend, take stones. That's a big boy move, you're telling America because you know, it's going to be seen. You're telling America, I got this. We're going to win. Because if you if you show up looking like that. That means that you have to walk out of there. And if you don't walk out of there like that are you walk out of there with your tail between your legs wearing something else. That is not a good look Frendo. So you better win. If you're going to show up in a get up. It's the same reason why I love Russell Westbrook. When he shows up dressed like a geisha and look like he's about to serve tea. I I get excited about that. Because it puts pressure on him what he shows up in all black for the funeral of the team is about the play. I get excited about that. Because you gotta have stoves to do it. And sometimes it doesn't always work out that way. So Mitch Trubisky to show up today dresses. Mike Ditka to go out there and get to twenty two touchdowns. Get a win go to four and three still right there in the thicket of the NFC north. That's exciting. That's really exciting for a bears fan. It's exciting for me. And hopefully, it's exciting for Knicks. Shook Georgia's right now around the NFL around the NFL dot com as well as the Knicks shook on Twitter. Hello, nick. How are you? I'm great. How are you little story about Nick LeBron James went to the same high school as he did? So you guys got yourself a nice little nugget, their Nick, I'm doing wonderful. Did you hear my little doodad about what I was saying about Mitch Trubisky? Yeah. My question is if you're in his shoes, how are you arriving to the game on Sunday of Halloween week? We'll do I look like this or do. I look like he was like you. I look like me. Oh, I gotta show up. Look like Andy Reid or Ralph region or something like that Markman, Gino like, yeah. It's it's not necessarily like my dick is not necessarily the thinnest guy who ever walked the face of the earth. But he's certainly not the heaviest either. So again, I think if you show up like that you'd better win because did he do the post-game press conference him? Do we know that for sure? He did. And then he took the glasses off the effect. Well, we gotta look people in the eye obviously there because if you did have a change of clothes and you went up there after a loss dresses, Mike Ditka. That's pretty with multiple hanging out there. Nick, you understand that don't you? Knicks shook joining us on the show. So if you're if you're a bears fan right now, we'll move on and go around the league here momentarily. But if you're a bears fan. Are you breathing a sigh of relief or you feel confident in your young quarterback that now he's he's arrived? And he's playing better. I think you have to you really have to be confident in in both him in the pairing of of head coaching home. He's playing because this offense has a totally different. Look didn't last year. I mean that was noticeable from pretty early on. And it seems as though with each week. He's taking incremental step by step progress to becoming a better quarterback and really fitting into the starter role entirely. And yeah, it's the jets, but they do have a decent defense. And and and really no matter the opponent this week. It's played over the last three or four weeks. You know that lost the Miami and overtime with the crusher, but they played well with the patriots. Until the end and they come out today, and they had a game that for a moment there. Look like they were going to give it up ethica pass bears team or maybe at other lesser team would have given that game and allowed the jets to come back. But they didn't they close the deal, and they came away with the win and sitting at four and three right now, and what's up what appears to be pretty winnable division is the Vikings look like they're about the fall tonight. You know, they gotta be pretty happy with what they have right up to them. I think anybody really expected this. I know I didn't I thought they were another year away. And I know we're just now at the halfway point of the season essentially, so there's a lot of football play. But right now with the record that they have a pretty good addition to that. That's great point, Nick. Because when Ryan pace made the moves that he did last year when he when he traded up and got Mitch Trubisky, and then this year when he traded for Collo MAC, I'm thinking man, this is this is a guy who is under the gun this guy. If these decisions don't work, you're done you are done. And I don't know if you're a I don't know if you're a GM again in in so far, they're working in the thing is is that trade up last year did not look good, especially afterward when he found out that the Niners said had no interest in Trubisky, and they weren't gonna make. They weren't gonna draft him. And they didn't they just made the trade. Oh, you want to give x to move back one spots. You can take this guy. We weren't even going to take. All right. So it looks bad for him. It looks bad for them when they were not a good football team last year and winter struggled as a rookie as most of you do and then it was really perplexing when they extended him with a three year deal to get him in line with the matinee east contracts because for my seat. I was thinking this guy has not really done enough to prove that he's worthy of an extension that trade was laughable last year. And they haven't been a good team. You know, some of the pig heading pan down mainly the white. And it was it was just kind of a head scratcher. But so far everything is turned out there favors. Maybe the bears me something we didn't know or maybe they were just taking a shot in the dark and happen to hit their target. Well, what I'd like about Ryan pace is in Nick shook joining us on the show around the NFL NFL dot com. He seems to get it that you can't say in God you, and I know this from where we're from buddy. You can't go in and say, hey, we got a five year plan. We got a six year plan. You don't you don't get that time. And I think Ryan pace with the decisions. He makes knows that. He he doesn't get that time. And he needs to try to put a winner on the field as soon as you can. Yeah, absolutely right there because you can go in you could save quite most coaches most regimes get three years maximum if things don't start to turn towards the better. In Cleveland, it's shorter. But I in a lot of other cities. It's about three years is the maximum Ned pretty much hit that but decided to stick with this guy on and so, you know, we're gonna give you the show with you coach you got a franchise quarterback installed. We hope. So let's let's see how much further this goes. But yeah, you're right. It does it totally matters about production in which is a big point about hiring. A coach is is this a coach who can effect change. And you don't really know that because everybody do that. Then everybody would be going after the same handful of coaches wouldn't have so many guys who either hired fired and then rehired again, you know, Pat Shurmur for one the York right now, or you know, guys who are one and done we wouldn't have everybody. So you kind of have to go off your own judgment, and how you want to fit things together. But so far right now, it looks like it were trending that way. And it also helps you know, if you're gonna sell multiple drafted would you go after a guy likes a little MAC Kristen playing through an injury, and it's still performs pretty well. And pressure the opposing passer and then help your defense out. We're sending turn helps your offense because they don't have to spend all day on the sideline, and they can get things going there. Knicks shook with us on the show fundamental hitter. At the Knicks shook saints Baker statement tonight with a thirty two twenty win for you. Definitely because you know, this is kind of a weird game. If you look at the saints drew Brees didn't break two hundred hundred because he didn't really need to a turnover filled game. And the saints defense did something tonight that I have not seen them do in a long time, which is play defense effectively for the majority of the game interesting that you know, that trade for you. I apple he's inserted immediately. And it's just made a few plays in this contest. And and and you know, when you look when you looked at the saints for the last, however, many years pretty much the entire drew Brees era, you've wondered about safer when they won the SuperBowl, they balanced, but you what did you know, they have the offense. They're going to have the weather. The other quarterback is usually the project, and they usually have run actually can they put a defense on the field. That's good enough. And perhaps this is a game that that maybe makes that statement with Viking. So it's been such an unpredictable outcome for them. Don't we go basis because they had that tie against the Packers. They've laid an. Here and there, and then they've come out, and and you know, they laid the against buffalo. And then they come out and handle a few teams. So we don't really know what you're going to get from them and reach week basis. They're not really the best litmus test. So that's why I'm like, I'm not really sure if that's this is great statement to the saints. But you go on the road in time. You know, you got gotta solid record you on a little bit of a of a solid wave momentum. And you're gonna go into your thank stadium and take down this team. And and you know, they didn't hold Minnesota's passing game. The lowest amount of numbers dig both broke a hundred again, but they got the win. And they got it by keeping Minnesota the end zone for the most part starts out there. So yeah, I mean, I talked myself into it. The Knicks shook with this other show NFL dot com. What about saints saints and Rams next week? If the Rams get past Senator they're gonna lose a game..

"The record I'm sure ninety nine percent of the. People listening. Right now we're already seen tweet by the president of the United States which he sent out last night Written about LeBron James I. Don't want to misquote I. Don't want to misstate I. Want, to. Get it exactly right I will give you an opinion on it Bob I want your opinion on. It on a telephone lines we. Will expound on it we. Will talk about it but. I the tweet just so. It, is. On record we read it as was tweeted The act the real Donald Trump LeBron James was just interviewed by the. Dumbest man on television Dom Lennon he made LeBron. Looksmart, which isn't. Easy to do, lastly he tweets, I like Mike which I'm assuming although it doesn't say that come out and, say that, this is an assumption The last is a reference to Michael Jordan because in. The interview that LeBron did on CNN CNN with. Don, lemon LeBron. Dig questioned the, president and he's, saying that he thinks the president is using sports to kind of divide us So the best player in, the world did have a comment. About the president he was asked about it a direct question the Twitter is not, a direct question unless you tweet and back and forth with someone and if you're the president of the United States anything you tweet is fair game Donald Trump just basically felt, he needed to defend himself from LeBron James who said I think that the president has been using sports to kind of divide us and said opinion by LeBron James, is not a complimentary one about the president of the United States but, I don't think it's. Quite as nasty. As, what Donald Trump I'd say about LeBron James when he says he was just interviewed by. The dumbest man on television and he made, LeBron Looksmart which isn't easy to do basically calling Brian James dumb and insane I like Mike well. The next tweet I want to see from the president is the one about Michael Jordan Jordan came, out after he was. Contacted and ask. What, he thinks about the president's tweet he said I support Eljay in other words LeBron James He's doing amazing job for his community did. Not, mention, Donald, Trump, so, even, though, Donald Trump likes Mike, Mike decided to pass on the compliment received from the president of the United States. Eight five, five two one. Two four CBS, Matt from Checking in from Paris is that right. We gotta, cross, continent cross, the, pond call Hello Matt Hey how's it going good buddy we appreciate you listening in France yeah of course nice hey so might take on on. This on, the president is that he's just the only problem is that he's just too negative I. Mean I'm I'm looking for a way that maybe people don't look for something, negative to do I don't remember president being so. Negative about his constituents prior to Donald Trump I don't. Think Obama ever had any, hateful messages, I think he said actually just the opposite of that I. Believe that even, Clinton you know he probably had a little too much love to go around but I mean I, feel, like, a, person, who's representing our nation and me who grew up overseas and you know just I'm I'm I'm I'm really passionate about United States having a good name and our president is tweeting things. About his own? People that just make him like LeBron James. Seemed, like A bum Alabama Clinton Bush. Junior Bush senior you can go, back, over president, president president president no one is never ever been more on the offensive than Donald, Trump He takes offense, more to those who don't agree with, him and he attacks back more than any other president we've ever. Had no doubt about that my mind aren't aren't. You supposed to as a president be used to criticism and know how to handle, it with, grace I'm just looking for ways, that that could happen I feel like LeBron James with everything that, he's had, to endure. In his career and I'm I'm, not, an apologist, for him but I do appreciate everything he's doing outside of the arena I just really feel like there's there's just you need to polish your. Game, a, little bit and, you need to think about people and the the message you're sending and the example you're showing, to the young kids are looking up. To the president a prerequisite you would one would think that a prerequisite, to be president of the United States would, be thick skin that you are supposed to be able to deal with those who are going to question you and your, decisions and your motives and everything else I'm not saying the, president should never defend himself because he surely should. Because yeah politics are politics and they're. Going to be, people who are on the opposite side, of the aisle for ma'am that are going to disagree with things. He does just because he sits on the opposite. Side of the aisle and he should defend his point at times but to sit, at home, more at mar-a-lago or wherever you, happens to be to shoot out at tweet because LeBron James Past the comment of he. Thinks, the, president is using, sports to kind of divide us to then turn around and suggests that LeBron James is dumb, because he questioned you Mr President yeah. That's not very thick skin that's not tough skin if you are at, a press conference and someone ask you a, direct question and you want to defend yourself and you're the president of the United States you damn well should defend yourself But when somebody makes a passing comment and, yes it's it's questioning the president put it is and burying the president it. Isn't a harsh, shot at the president he feels the need to go on Twitter and basically call the brand. James dumb that is thin skinned boy eight five five. To, one, two, four CBS, sorry, we will. Start our guest list coming up next couple. Tonight we're not gonna overly burden you with guests but. "Looked at tape and yada yada yada and found a way to say about this i mean what are they going to say about how they laid an egg in the last three games like no other i mean literally they want three in a row and then they're gonna lose three in a row yeah it's game six and seven they really the performance in game six has bled over here and to game seven because they they look the same way that they did in that game the second goal for the capitals tonight first of all you allow you to score sixty two seconds to around three it's two games in a row they'll win game six inside greg but they play coming down the stretch in game five after they had the lead they let the cavs back into the game but they've been absolutely awful in games won that game three two right that's the game where the capitals had all the pressure at the end of the game and they just they just couldn't goal but the last two games they've been completely lethargic they've done nothing they let up a goal a minute into the game tonight and who was it who i said last night this rockstar will show up and then in the second goal in the second period the first berkovsky goal hey just basically hand them the puck i didn't see which defense but it was for the whitening if back in his own moral turnover but a terrible turnover allows him to just go right in and make it to nothing and now another one three right before the end now we know that the lightning came out of nowhere score goals remember what was that game earlier in the series gave three or four where they were passing the puck and they know that stuff can happen quick but it seems like the capitals have really shut that down the last two guiding they're finished i think they're finished to it's over and not only that i'm going to predict it matters in game betting they're going to score more they're going to score again because if they give up one more it's lights out and fat lady singing and then alex ovechkin in his first stanley cup finals right so that would be vegas home is monday wednesday games one and two n t mobile insensitive so tonight sean powell joined us in about eight minutes from nba dot com we'll talk about this game five in boston sixty one forty six.

"The four seed in the eastern conference playoffs either tweet based on the previous segment random my three big storylines heading into the postseason for the nba can hard and get it done overcome their kind of lousy for them regular season and then can lebron drag this cleveland team so the postseason without kyrie irving and with i think objectively a week arise rostrum these had and probably about eight maybe nine years costa ways in and said the the place or a money grab sixteen teams of which only four have any chance of anything more teams make the playoffs and don't know parody all fans follow the players not the teams the fans at this point i think especially maybe younger ones might follow players more than teams i think that's a maybe a different trend with like millennials or generation z whatever they call it the thing about though but about teams having a chance keep this in mind i think the nba a great position counting the playoffs just think about where we are now compared to a year and a half ago when kevin durant signed with the golden state warriors there was the thought from a lot of places that oh man how is anybody going to beat this team and that thought wasn't really changed last year when the warriors swept their way through the western conference playoffs when they only dropped one game to cleveland where they basically just shot just a lights out of the basketball that that thought process hadn't really changed much up until this regular season so if you think four teams have a chance to win the championship i'm not quite sure four teams actually do i'll ask sean powell about toronto what he thinks about that team but i think the nba from a story lot perspective is actually a pretty good spot heading into the playoffs eight five five two one two four two two seven i was talking with my producers stu kobe x via text message before the show and i think he and i are kind of on the same page all this conor mcgregor stuff completely just wears me out now maybe i'm a fool and a sap because i was into the mayweather mcgregor fight back in august part of the.
