"The National Football League is threatening to find head coaches if they don't adhere to Corona virus rules requiring face masks on the sidelines. During the first weekend of games. Failure to do so, Vincent wrote, will result in accountability measures against individuals and or clubs. Those measures include finds during Sunday's nationally televised game between Dallas and the Los Angeles Rams. Isaac Bruce: Los Angeles Rams should 'absolutely' bring in Antonio Brown

"NFL teams rolled the dice on another talented but flawed player he played for the Steelers became a poster child for tantrums while with the Raiders and Patriots. So Ram's Hall of Fame receiver Isaac Bruce was on CBS Sports radio and was asked should Sean McVeigh and Les Snead Get Antonio Brown for the Rams. Absolutely. I mean, you're talking about one of the premier wide receivers from the past decade that we had, Ah, guy that was very productive. Bruce says. Being out of football for his Lana's Brown has has made him ready to concentrate on playing again going anybody you know, being in their right mind. I can make the life adjustments to do something that they love to do. And therein lies the problem. If his mindset has changed. Sure, be a great idea. If not see Antonio the Raider. Randy

Buffalo Clinches Playoff Birth

"Your namesake team is in in the play offs. The bills I mean. I don't WanNa Brag Bill. Barnwell is a senior football writer at. ESPN he has consulted with NFL teams. But the bills are not in fact named after him. So tonight the buffalo bills beat the Pittsburgh steelers seventy ten clinching a spot in the postseason and bill. What's amazing about this team? Aside from being named after you Is that for most of the two thousands. They didn't even have a winning record but but now they have made the playoffs in two of the last three years during this rebuilding process. Where does this recent success begin in your mind? I think the simplest place for it to start is just hiring Sean McDermott. This is a coach. Who really seems at odds with with a lot of what? NFL Teens tend to do when they have head coaching opportunity. Pop Up Sean. mcdumber forty two wasn't like he was old but let's face face it every coaching opportunity. That's popped up over. The last three years has basically been. Let's try and get a offensive minded coach or someone who is particularly close to. Sean McVeigh and correct defensive minded coach the panthers weren't even coming off a good season they were six and ten and ranked twenty six points allowed the year before so the bills really took a shot on shark dermott top of that. The bills gave McDermott some level of personnel control. which teams are really it? Really Loath to do it. First Year head coaches but it worked. The bills had an excellent free agent period in two thousand seventeen and they earned their draft totally differently that year their previous previous GM Doug Whaley had repeatedly traded up in years past regrettable move. Sammy Watkins. Being the most notable one but damage first move was to trade down and and the first player he drafted was Davis White. WHO had a big game against the steelers? Last night tonight again squirts out of bounds around the twenty yard long. So why headed early picked in fact. We'll before McDermott joined the team in two thousand sixteen they had the twenty seventh best defense in the NFL according to football outsiders after that they started taking up up in now bill. It's one of the best units in the League. How did this defense gets so good so quickly? I mean just to keep it simple. They got rid of everybody pretty much. I mean. The fifty three players were on their roster for the final game in two thousand sixteen before Mcdermott arrived. There's three guys left in the Renzo Alexander Jerry News and Shack Lawson all front seven pieces. I mean everyone else. Fifty other players on this roster Aurora ellsworth point and the bills have drafted well. But I think what makes this team so interesting as they really go out of their way to get veterans from other rosters and saw seemed to get more out of those players in their previous teams games in their first free agent period Jordan play Mike Hide Jordan Philips for example comes to mind in recent years where he was a second round. Pick washout of Miami. The bills brought him in. He has nine and a half sacks this season as defensive tackle. That's really impressive. There's just a lot of players on this roster who either were good somewhere and have become great in buffalo or who really weren't playing very well at all or almost out of the League who have become regulars on this really talented bills defense so last year the bills. Roll the dyson Josh Allen in the draft trading up to take him seventh overall despite his lack of college production in his rookie season was pretty underwhelming warming. Bill Fifty two point eight percent. Completion percentage just five point four adjusted guards per attempt. It seemed to me that they approached this off season with a really concerted strategy to build around him in free agency. Signings worked out for the team. It's been really good. I mean it's really the same philosophy sophy we saw on the defensive side of the ball. Those have had fifteen players. I not on offense for at least twenty percents of the snaps. Twelve of those guys are new into the roster. It's both running backs. All three of their tight ends five of their six top offensive. Lineman you know in a League where so many times you hear here that a team should sign a player or they actually do sign a player because they know the system quote unquote the bills. Sort of realized. Hey we have coaches who we pay to teach each player's the system. We should just go get those guys instead and so many of those players are playing in a high level and I think. It's really been perfect for Josh Allen Alan who even going back to Wyoming. He had to play hero ball. He had to sort of make big plays for his team to win. And we've seen a totally different quarterback this shear. I wouldn't argue. Allen is finished product but he's been productive quarterback this year a using his legs to create opportunities. He's hitting a lot of intermediate passes when he didn't do that last year. And he's avoiding turnovers man after throwing four interceptions in that really frustrating loss the Patriots week for this offense. Turn the ball over four. We're times in nine games. That's incredible for an offense that really just turn the ball over at will last season and they turn the ball over twice against the steelers last last night but they still did enough on offense to victory the snap just gonNa keep it off. He will sail. into the end zone touchdown touchdown buffalo. Josh Allen from one yard out and the bills are on the scoreboard early in the second quarter. Do you think there are any lessons. That other teams can take from the bills rebuilding process. Yeah I I do think so and I'm GonNa make a comparison that I'm sure. Bills fans are not really gonNA love but there's a lot of patriots in what the bills have done in their philosophy. The bills have been great at Pro Scouting and they've really found a way to bringing those players like I said who were struggling elsewhere. who were just guys elsewhere and turn them into much better contributors with Buffalo? They've done great work with undrafted. Free Agency have a couple starters in their secondary from there as well. They built their scheme scheme to really accommodate their players. And that's not just the Patriots thing but also way ravens thing where we're seeing that with Lamar Jackson and all the great stuff they've done on offense The bills don't have a scheme that throws the ball up fifteen times a game downfield. Just because Josh Allen has a strong arm they create better throws for him that that play to his arm strength as opposed to just trying to hit a big play because Josh Allen has in his arsenal I think in the big picture. There's just this idea that you shouldn't blindly follow what the NFL does with their trans so the bills are in the playoffs. Most likely as a wildcard team and bill while the defense is he's one of the best in the league offense has been up and down they really didn't produce very much against Pittsburgh. Do you think that that's a formula that can and work in January. I do not. I think they're a team. Nobody's GONNA WANNA play this postseason. It's very different from twenty seventeen eighteen where I don't think it's fair to say. The bills sort of meant the playoffs by accident that year. When they benched tyrod Taylor Nathan Peterman in mid season and kind of just rent a hot streak into the playoffs over the final month of the year? This team is way better on defense. They have more faith than Allen and I think the playoffs actually line up pretty well for for them as a five seat which is most likely where they're gonNA fall. They're terrible matchup for the Texans who they really really gave a tough game. Two in two thousand eighteen only for Nathan Peterman the throw too late interceptions to hand the texts victory and then they gave them our tax and Fitz. When they played last Sunday? I don't think this is going to be the last time the bills are going to be in the playoffs with this court. They're really opposition to be the best team in the AFC east. If the Patriots slip any further. And I am. I don't think I think it's too far to say that I'd be the best team in the AFC east right now

Kliff Kingsbury Will Give Players "Cell Phone Breaks" In Meetings

"Cliff Kingsbury is the new coach of the your Zona cardinals. What a mess. Okay. And he noticed that his young players tended to get distracted and itchy after like, fifteen minutes of listening to him. So he's come up with an idea. He thinks is going to help. And that is cell phone breaks. So he was a college coach down at Texas Tech. And he did this down there. And he noted that the average age of NFL players is only twenty five years old just little alertness, college guys. And he said, quote, I think coming from the college ranks to obviously coming from the college ranks, obviously these young men it's got to be quick hitters twenty minutes at a time. And then I will give them a break give them time and get them back in. I wanna make sure that when we had them they're focused. They're locked in. We're maximizing their time. So we're going to split it into shorter meetings. That's what we're going to do. I start to see hands twitching leg shaking, and you know, they need to get that social media fix. So we're going to let them hop over. There. Look at their social media get on their cell phone, and then get back in the meeting and refocus. Oh, yeah. Yeah. The head coach of an NFL team is going to have every fifteen twenty minutes. Right. So this is like once a day middle of afternoon practice after two hours of hitting the books and breaking down the tape and listen to your coach, no, no every twenty minutes. We're going to take a cellphone break. Now leads. Go check in your on your Twitter. Give me something. What is sit there and grin? Gimme what do you want me to say audience has been waiting all day for your response to this is ridiculous? I want you to say, what's in your heart. It's ridiculous. It's ridiculous. You're talking about a guy getting off to a bad start. You know, chip Kelly. Tried to do something not not this. But something kind of along these lines where a lot of his approach to dealing with the players was was was in the same vein. These young guys, you know, they come from a different kind of culture, they come up with different kind of way. So we're going to do all this different kinds of stuff. And listen, I come from the college ranks, I coached college kids. These guys aren't that different in age? You can't coach him the way he coached him back in the Lombardy days, which means there's some truth to that. But. I mean, some of them made a little sense to me some of it had me rolling my eyes. But I mean, this is. Yeah. I mean, this is this is just silly. I mean, these guys come to work, you're you're here, you're professional. You know, what you did before? You're you're in college before that's that. You're not in college anymore. This is son. This is pro football. Okay. Here we come to work. And when you're here, you're going to go to work and simple as that. You have plenty of time before we before we say meetings are in five minutes, you'll plenty of time in the morning over your Cheerios. You can check all the social media when you sit in the parking lot. Check your cell phone before you come in. That's fine. And when some point we will have a lunch break, and maybe you can do it then. But no, we're not shortening our meetings. We're not sure narrow practice time. So that you can go and check your cell phone, any Napa know. That's maybe that maybe that was fine for you. When you were in college, maybe the coach accommodated you that way. But this is professional football. And this is where grown men come to work. And if you're going to come here, and you're going to get a paycheck. You're gonna come to work, so but the cellphone away I'll tell you when you can pick it up again. So. That's your. Your thought that's how you feel. This is gonna work for cliff Kingsbury. No, do you take this as a sign of an nothing's going to work for cliff Kingsbury. It's going to be a disaster. I don't think he's very good coach, but handsome, man, I think he was very handsome. I think that's half the reason he got the job. He looks. He looks like you wanna high. I am telling you this is all McVeigh in with the Rams, actually what it is. Like, we find us a young good looking coach that looks the part. Yeah. That's exactly what it is. I mean, all of these all of these coaches all these owners were all scurrying around. Now looking for the next Sean McVeigh. And Kingsbury certainly looks the part. That's why. That's why the Vic Fangio hiring was such. It was such a was such an outlier, you know, this this old guy that has grizzled grizzled old guy that had worked his way up from an assistant coach defensive coordinator. Good for good for the Broncos for given the chance because everybody else is going in the other direction. But Kingsbury is is I mean, the owner the owner of the cardinals was just I gotta go get Sean McVeigh. I gotta go get the next Sean McVay any hired this guy. And it's like I'd like to sit down with him say other than the fact he looks like you want him to look, what's he done self was the coach at Texas Tech any had Patrick Mahomes. He didn't win. He couldn't win in college with a guy. Who's right now? The best quarterback in the NFL. What makes you think he's going to come here with a lesser quarterback? And the NFL it's crazy. But you know, listen, he's gonna he's he's probably right now as we speak his face is up on billboards all over ten p. Yeah. And Scottsdale and everywhere else in Arizona where they're going to start pushing their season tickets. And this is part of the reason why Glenn I'm convinced. They're going to take Murray. Number one, I'm convinced and and he's come out strong social media. Game. A no. But he's you know, he's the Heisman Trophy winner. And he's and he's exciting. And when you put listen when you put together his highlight package, which is going to be on all the TV stations out in the desert between now and the draft. He's an exciting player. He's an exciting player, and he had a great college career. But you're going to bring him into the NFL, and you're going to bring in this offense, and this coach who to me has never proven anything, and you're going to make this work. I don't think so I just think it says so much about the new coach that he's like I've got to relate to these young kids. So I'm going so if you hold people in low expectations fate doesn't do this to me the the thing is this if you hold people in low expectations. That's what they'll give you if you if you say to people if you say these kids aren't able to focus for more than fifteen twenty minutes, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you say kind of as you said earlier, this is professional this is your job other people do their job that's their job. They work at it. And. And this is this a hard job an arduous job. And I need your mind here to say, we're breaking every twenty minutes. You you. Distract the flow of anything you end progress. And I don't see how it helps. Because a guy's gonna go look at his Twitter, whatever is Instagram, and he's going to see something there. And he's going to come back. He's going to be thinking about

Super Bowl 2019: History says Rams vs. Patriots in Atlanta could be another all-time classic

"It is the once and for all finally, we have reached. Super Bowl fifty three a game that will be played down in Atlanta, Georgia. Right around six six twenty between the New England Patriots in Los Angeles. And I think it's now time for me to admit the bitterness the anger the bad feelings I had towards this year's game have to come to an end. Because now it's game time. Now, we will think about degrade. Bella check in the great Brady. Yes. Paul for. The course something we've seen quite a bit over these last seventeen eighteen years Brady and Belichick getting ready and preparing for the night's Super Bowl going up against the boy wonder the next great young coaching store in the NFL, Sean McVeigh, and he's very very talented, Los Angeles. I'm steam and remember, despite the fact that the Rams got the benefit of the whistle. And did not get that penalty. Flag down in New Orleans. Does. The fact that this Rams team all year one of Vegas favorites to win this year Super Bowl. The Rams come into this game. We're Boorda talent. That's why you think about where this line opened up opened up with the LA Rams, basically is a one point favorite. Now that has changed you're going to see New England anywhere from two and a half to three maybe it falls to two we will have to wait and see. The reason New England is going to get that. Nod as far as being a favor, according to Vegas, according to a good amount of you. It's because of what those two gentlemen, had done throughout their entire NFL careers. It's very tough to go into these Super Bowls and pick against Tom Brady and Bill bell check. And I've done it on a couple of occasions that didn't last year had success with Philadelphia Eagles for some of you. You may be did it against the Atlanta the Seattle Seahawks and you can have success when it's twenty eight three falcons. We know what happened. Now, you're probably thinking you're going to have success bet against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick went Seattle and curse makes the spectacular catch. And they're inside the five yard line and marshawn Lynch does not get the ball. And Russell Wilson is intercepted. One of the greater Super Bowl mysteries in the history of my lifetime. This patriot team all year. According to most of us. Fans media, whoever you may be maybe thought they were losing a little bit. Maybe thought that this team didn't have the same offensive firepower. How long can Tom Brady continue to dominate on the north side of forty how much gronk have left. What about the loss of Josh Gordon who they brought in to be a big play weapon? Just goes to show you when you count out the New England Patriots. You're making a monumental mistake. And our molested picked against the patriots in the division around. Bingo well against the patriots two weeks ago championships Sunday instinct classic game. No went to overtime Tom Brady and the pats Bill Belichick and the pats still at team that's left standing. The Rams dole have avenues and ways to win this game. You don't work it. The Rams, nor should you look at the Rams. The way he did on now. The two thousand seven New York Giants who were an overwhelming underdog coming into the game. And we know what happened. The giants won a game prevented the nineteen year. You don't have that here with New England in Los Angeles these evenly matched games. In fact, you could argue one through fifty three you liked the talent of the Los Angeles Rams. A little more. Not crazy. Take reds gonna win this game. If we're sitting here Monday morning, and I'm breaking down Tom Brady going five and four now in Super Bowl games. You will need to see I think to specific keys paramount. The first band, and this is a given any time you're going up against Tom Brady, you better hit him. You better get them into the ground. You'd better sack him. Your pasteurized. Gotta do some work. I won't get Aaron Donald. I look at consumer the interior pass. Rush four. The LA Rams is going to have to play a major role. You did about age rushers. You ain't going to find a better pair of edge rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. I thought off the age those guys we're gonna get the Tom Brady. But remember the game plan for New England was so good net game. He's getting rid of ball, one one and a half seconds. Two seconds bowl. It's out. So you can generate much pass rush. You get them up the middle of changes things a little bit. Aaron Donald wanna show me wise best fence player in the league. Superbowl Madama can sue who has made plenty of all pro teams over the years. Now has his chance in his first Super Bowl to go wreck. Tom Brady, he's had some big games and postseason remember one when he was with Detroit against Dallas Cowboys was in Tony romo's face. Play off the play off the play. I remember game last year. I went to data south Florida when Dominic can sue was over Tom Brady, make your life miserable. For Tom Brady to me. That's data happen. Then you have on the offensive side for LA. Todd Gurley who is one of the most electrifying playmakers in the sport. Who I would argue is the best running back in the sport. Has in. Exactly been that player. Let's be fair. Even if you look at it as a hundred yards that he had against Dallas in the divisional round. Is that what you're going to remember about that game? Of course, dont. No, you have one or two big Ron's that came was all about C, J Anderson and his ability to run the football. You at the championship game Elliott had far more success. Throwing the football running the football. We now has basically two weeks to rest up. We'll see if he's much closer to one hundred percent. I can't envision the LA Rams winning this game and Todd Gurley. He's not gonna play a major role. You know, Bella check will look to take away what you do best. Now. That's the great chess match between these still McVay and Goth trying to get to the line of scrimmage quickly. Surveying the landscape of the field and in China to figure out what they're going to do. And Bella check and his mastery China counteract at the more and more thought about that the more and more fun this Super Bowl matchup become for me. I have to admit because that idea of Sean McVeigh China show a guy. Analyzed a guy that a lot of coaches around the league now who are having great success did going to idolize Bill check because they're going to look at him as the modern day will forty gigging to look at him as a modern day Paul Brown where nobody's doing what he's doing. All these coaches seem to have a shell five all these coaches, even if they're in a job for a long period of time, they have that downturn. John Harbaugh had that downturn Tom Coughlin eventually had that downturn. Mike Tomlin now was having that downtown with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dan, never happens for Bill Belichick and the patriots. They don't miss the postseason. They've only done so twice in seventeen years. Never missed the playoffs since two thousand eight and that was when Tom Brady tours ACL they are used to being in the big game. Wait a variety of different players, and how can McVay now with a roster has maybe a little more talent. Make the necessary adjustment. If need be at halftime figure out. All right. They're taking this guy away. We're gonna make this guy star or that guy star. It's fun

"All right. Let's get to the other game yesterday ram saints again. It was the first time in NFL history. We had to overtime games in the postseason on the same day. Rams saints very loud in the Superdome. But you can't blame the noise for this early pick that Jared Goff throws this one Dan is clearly on Todd Gurley. Who had a very rough day. I thought Jared Goff handled the environment incredibly well, the Gurley was the guy that struggled this pick in early in this moment gives this crowd just absolute juice in he struggled throughout the gang. He moment though, they held him to a field goal there. So it's only six nothing when briefs those touchdown to Gary Griffin. So it's thirteen nothing. The saints are in control, but they didn't put the game away in that first quarter when they had opportunities to and then how about Sean McVeigh on this down fake. Biggest guts in the league. So to speak down you and he throws that that to deepen Tabacchi through to any short in the purse down when he catches this ball because they make the tackle right here. I mean, it's unbelievable. So the gut to by John McBain bread of deep in his own territory. And it sets up this grueling again, Dan withdraw we saw the first one. And we see it again guy was reliable pass catcher out of the backfield. I've credit Sean McVay going. You know, what it's not your day sit down we'll ride CJ and the Rams get on the board with a field goal there. And then it's golfer. Brandin cooks about that bat. You can't throw it any better. Now, it handed to them clearly settling into this game as it went on and he would start to cook. And there's girly certainly looking healthy wrecks on that touch on there. So thirteen ten game at half time. They've weathered the storm third quarter. Saint third goal. It's their guy Tatum has smart design last week. They ran a screen like this. But a double move and this actually run the stream lead lockers tasted Hofer touch on probably use the too much but utilizes kind of capitalizes opportunity. So they have the advantage. But this is where Jared Goff this getting it done that one's obviously wide open. I think I could have thrown that one for a touchdown. But here comes a great play by gov. Fourth quarter. Same score. They're down three. He's in trouble. And watching find Jerrell ever some big story this game getting outside of the pocket creating extra time, and then finding Gerald Everett. He did an awesome job of breaking away from men coverage secure the cat secure the vault. You get a bunch of yards at it on after that cat that sets up this big moment here on the third and short CJ. Anderson is stuff wrecks. Were. You surprised McVay kick the field still Luli at that? For sure. This guy. I thought for sure they were gonna go floated I Dan you surprise loan away because he'd been aggressive all year. And so the game is tired on the ensuing possession. They just throw it up in the air about the defense Rex joined her please highpoint the football on this is. And so the saints are set up an outpost. Here's the play. You're gonna talk about until the end of time the passes intended for Tommy Lewis that's macelroy Coleman drills him helmet to helmet interference call anything and everything you want. No flag is thrown by. Now, you know that we're going to talk about it extensively in a moment saints or forced to settle for a field goal. But they leave time on the clock and give credit to Jared Goff. Jared Goff stool had to make the plays. And Dan he did mid a bunch of on third down late in the game against pressure finds Robert woods on an optional. Perfect. Throw grams would use their final timeout and bring out Greg's Greg wrecks. How about the guts of sir line from forty? No, hey, you what not to pro kicker. Right. They're not every team has them. We had to overtime tied at twenty three. And so he's the coin toss. I was talking about Brees gets the ball. I he's supposed to win the game Alabama out the pressure. Awesome job by Fowler. The midseason acquisition. He comes inside gets his hand on the ball on breezes. Arm goes up in the air..

"Stick to your poop takes. A few thoughts. I always did extremely well. Which fisher? Look at the Rams Jeff Fisher look at the Rams with Sean McVeigh. And then tell me that it's all about the players and the coach is not make any difference at all. A guy that I did not do. Well with was Wade Phillips. He I got into it when he was the head coach of the Buffalo Bills. When we talk about Doug Flutie and Rob Johnson. I didn't get in. I didn't do well with him. But I'm saying the guy is genius. He's a defensive genius. He's a brilliant coordinator. Literally, a brilliant coordinator guy seventy-one it can still relate to today's game. Today's young players and he's done a great job. Not a great head coach, Gregg, coordinator, brilliant, defensive mind incredulous, Sean McVeigh for bringing that guy in understanding that so no, I don't agree with that. Like, I said stick to the poop takes Rex. On war. Anybody over the age of fifteen who drinks fireball? That you have to be twenty one to drink fireball. That fireball a couple times both times desperation once when I was in some neighborhood, really sketchy neighborhood for one of the kids pace ballgames wanna have taken over the edge off there were no bars nearby. There was one liquor store found a little bit of a fireball. Yeah. That beautiful cinnamon glorious cinnamon bite. Steph kinda reminds me of like hurricanes candy goes down like like some kids. "Michael junior here on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. We know that clip Kingsbury also joins the ranks. Of other notable shortly instituted college. Head coaches like Manny Diaz his stint at temple were cliff Kingsbury eight accepted the job as the offensive coordinator at USC university of southern California before taking this gig interviewing for a couple of other NFL jobs. The jets people that reached out, but people really enamored with the record. This idea of failing up as a coach always seems to fascinate people. It was lane kiffin for a long time. A guy who seemed to go to a job performed poorly leave and find his way into a better job. And we could really probably look back then and see how enamored people's are still are we're trying to find the next wave of offense of football in lane. Kiffin was that guy for a while obviously going to Alabama some of the work that he did there. Notable before cliff Kingsbury the immediate push back on his record. I can understand especially in this off season where we saw coaches like Steve Wilks again, you look at the context of the situation. What we just talked about in Tampa versus what we're dealing with. Now in Arizona, Steve Wilks guy that was given one year and then show him the door in a way that to no one seemed fair. And again, I always say fares a place where they judge pigs. So I get that. That's not a metric that I'm comfortable measuring a lot by. But no one looked at a one year sample size and said, yeah, we can tell who Steve Wilks is as a coach. But then you look around and you take the temperature and whether it's Matt floor being hired by the Green Bay Packers. I mean, just look at the places where the firings happened. So many of these decisions are made around the quarterbacks Todd Bowles shown the door in New York because they got a young quarterback. And they're not sure they want him to be the guy. Hugh Jackson shown the door in the middle of the season. Because the Browns draft Baker Mayfield number one overall. And before this you look Sean McVeigh who kind of kick started all this because they had Jeff Fisher who shown the door because they had a young quarterback Jared Goff. They weren't sure they wanted him to lead like in this day and age when we have seen college quarterbacks coming up to the NFL in systems that require you to meet them halfway a little bit more. There has even been an even greater emphasis on finding the coach that is willing and able to do that. Now, I think some of it is misguided because you ignore the things, and I was doing a phone or yesterday and was asked about Sean McVay what the fascination is with him. Are we too enamored? I said we're too enamored with the wrong. Things with Sean McVeigh we focus on the offense. What we don't give enough credit to is having the CEO mentality. That's allowed him to be the leader for that team overall. But Dan Orlovsky made that point really well on Twitter the other day, Sean McVay is a guy who has lauded for almost having that sort of Tony Robbins, ask quality about his ability to bring people together you've got to have that if you're going to be successful in this role. But these guys are being brought in because that is the flavor right now. And it is a major risk. It is something that does not come without a certain degree of trepidation. And all this. Narrow will Cain hosted the Wilkin show here on ESPN radio said when it comes to Matt floor in Green Bay and clip Kingsbury is that these moves do not come without a good bit of risk now. Here's the thing. I'm not saying well flu is going to be a failure. I'm not saying Kingsbury is going to be a failure saying that these new shiny objects are little bit like going to the gambling table. You're throwing the dice out there. It's possible that you hit your Mark. It's possible. Crap out, of course, that applies to anybody. But these feel particularly risky, particularly unproven. And I can understand a frustration with other coaches right now, especially given the climate. I mean, you can call you could certainly call it what it is to in this. We've had an offseason where we have had a large number of African American head coaches that have been shown the door and some of whom been shown the door very early. And now you see someone who has young white unproven at this level coming up being job. I can understand frustration there. I know Dominic Foxworth and some others have done some really good work documenting that one of the real problems is the pipeline coming up and the idea that especially right now in a very ofensive Centric lead. I think you're seeing less and less African American coaches on the offensive side of the ball quarterback rooms in an offensive coordinator rooms, and that becomes the more difficult process in the pipeline. Because that's where we are. Right now is if you are a coach with an offensive connection and one who is quarterback Centric, you of a leg up in that next job. That's that is just where we're at right now. And it comes with a certain amount of risk. But I will say if I have to choose between seeing another cycle of retread coaches, come through the NFL guys who we've seen around who we know the book on coming through getting to opportunities again with NFL franchises in the move that feels air quote safe. I would rather take a little bit more of a risk. I would rather on the outside. See a little bit more of a res- because it's going to force everyone else to say. All right. If I feel like I'm getting stagnant. I have a feeling my boss already thinks that what can I do to make sure that we're moving forward and progressing while we still have the opportunity to do it. I think it drives some level of innovation. So on the surface that seems beneficial to me overall will it be beneficial to these teams we're gonna have.

"So he had a better chance of getting some guys Crabtree. And those guys that ended up there at Texas Tech where you know, Texas and Texas am specifically kind of made a big a big resurgence under Johnny Menzel in those guys when he was. There. So. That to me is kind of a hard pill to swallow that I guess you could explain that away. But the reality is what teams want in the NFL. Now's the next Sean McVeigh. They want the guy who's the offensive genius. But here's the thing as much as I respect cliff Kingsbury, and I respect them a ton. You know what I mean game respects game? But. So stupid veggie tray J like McVeigh would say so as much as I respect that. He's not Sean McVeigh like Sean McVay legitimately was born into the NFL, you know, how bane in Batman the dark Knight returns. Or whatever says you merely adopted the dark, I was bored in it. Right. Sean McVeigh can say like cliff Kingsbury, you merely adopted the NFL I was born in it. My granddaddy was Bill Walsh is GM. I legitimately was the get back guy for Keyshawn Johnson on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Jon Gruden. I was and worked my way through the ranks with Jay Gruden at Washington. Ryan Clark called me the doogie howser of coaching when I got hired with the Rams, and he's proven all that out. Clinton. Good like cliff had a Cup of coffee in the NFL as a quarterback backed up Tom Brady for a minute, right? Was a hell of a college quarterback. And was a hell of a no see in college. So he's got that resume the head coaching thing. But as much as I think that cliff Kingsbury deserves to get head coaching looks. I would caution any team on the he's the next Sean McVeigh because there's only one of those and you're lucky to have him here. However. If you're cliff Kingsbury, Mike, I know you're at USC guy if either the jets or the cardinals come calling and you get to pick darnold the Rosen like you're gone. That's it's not even a debate. It depends man. I mean watch. Of course, you go with the NFL. There's good money in college football, also. But let's keep it real. It all depends on what this coach wants. What does I don't like if you have the chance to coach darnold arose? And you get that you're gonna get a long leash if you're cliff Kingsbury 'cause you got a young quarterback. So you're going to have the ability to go for what at least three or four years potentially with those guys as long as they keep showing some growth, you don't look he can stay at USC for a long time if he wants, but you know, you got guys I ki- saying a couple of weeks ago before we went on vacation, you if clay gets fired..

"I know you wanna follow the trends. And you see what Sean McVeigh's doing? And you think man, I I'd love to have that just like what people saw what was going on in Seattle. And they thought man I'd love to have that defense. Just like they knew what they thought was going on before with that offense. Man. I'd love to have a guy like Doug Peterson. Would you like to have a guy like that? Or would you want that guy? Because it's proof positive with all these trends that are going on. If you follow the trend. You got about a one in seven shot a having that one workout for you. And when it comes to use in inexperienced to that time, we've seen Sean McVeigh show a prodigy type of understanding to the game of football partially because he grew up in the NFL, but not always because he grew up in the NFL. The guy is absolutely a Mozart when it comes to remembering plays in having the recall and going through situational football. He's proven to do that. But that's Sean McVeigh. Can I guarantee any one of these young guys on this list or can do that? Or am I doing it just because they're young I want to have that quote, unquote, revitalization? I urge you when we start making the calls, and you call me up and you call the local guys up, and we start yelling about this coach and that coach and this coach in that coaching. "High scoring holiday bowl against Utah tomorrow night in San Diego. But interesting just because I think most people expect or are expecting the Packers to get some kind of offensive guru that can really maximize the final years here with Aaron Rodgers. Now, they could still do that, you know, they could bring in. They could still. Pat FitzGerald is former quarterback so they could they could still do that. Maybe they feel that that pats that guy he's a Sean McVeigh type because everybody wants the next Sean McVeigh. So that's that's an interesting kind of name out of the box. You know, the NFL gets criticized often for retreads right and bringing guys back, but we'll talk more. We're we're gonna talk more about tomorrow's black Monday coming up a little bit later on in the program. But again, you know, the big news of the day. "Is it more decision making that he has right now? What do you think he wants? Tough question. I think what he might. I mean, just me speaking of this is coming from me. I didn't talk for the story the package when give me like a one on one interview with him. So I didn't get to that question. But I think it would be natural for him to be looking across the league and seeing Sean McVeigh and Jared Goff who the latter quarterback and seeing, you know, Patrick Mahomes, and what he's doing these young quarterbacks are lighting it up in a way that we haven't seen Aaron Rodgers deal this season or really at that level. And you know, there's some really create a plate hauling going on. And I put my story like McCarthy is doing different things as he's using condensed formations. We have a ton of in the past. So it's not like he's ignoring this offense of revolution is happening. He's he's he's doing things to try to keep up with that. But I think Aaron might like to have play call. That is more in the mold of someone like, Sean McVeigh someone who's been like earn his his respect through already but through their intelligence of of the offense and their fee that way. I think that is the kind of relationship that may work really well in Green Bay you also talked and wrote a little bit about the redefines power structure in organizational structure of the front office in Green Bay and you ask Packers president Mark Murphy if at this point with five weeks ago, if he's considering the coaching change, and this was a fascinating tidbit because I think a lot of people in our state are resigned to the fact that this thing is probably over for Mike McCarthy. And yet Burke Murphy responded to your question it said, I think the continuity and stability has served us. Well, you see it across the league. I think you have to be careful not to make changes for changes sake. Is it possible that Mike McCarthy survives this season? Yeah. That is it's hard to read into that quote. Because one obviously, Mark Murphy is not going to say, yes, I'm considered. He's not gonna say that even if he was and so it's hard to it hard to read you into that. Because you're like, I don't know if this is true. This is just you know, what he has to tell me, you know. But I do think that that quote to what has always been the Packers kind of underlying philosophy. When I earlier in the story. I asked him where he you know, what teams he looked to as a model, and he mentioned the Steelers and the Steelers had had what three head coach, I think in the history of the team fear. So they are a team that is clearly into you know, letting coach not being the action Mary things thrill out with a guy for a long time. And I think Murphy, quote, definitely spoke to that. So honestly, I kind of agree with you like at first I thought, oh, yeah. He'll definitely be gone. As Ocoee, then everyone I talked to agrees follow blah. But then once they talked to Murphy, I was like, you know, what I think he might say I really do once I what they heard market kind of repeat what has always been dependent. The Packers guys guiding light they're coming up next to key off season acquisition for the bucks. He's after this on WTMJ. I am bread. Oxen Hagan posted the designer yard show. That was not a game that the saints just took from them, you know on. I I didn't love the fake punt call they gave up a third in twenty. So I would say, you know, whether it's the Rams whether it's it's the Cowboys with potential whether it's the bears. I think everybody has a shot. NFL playoff picture: Chiefs’ loss against the Rams helps the Patriots in the race for the AFC’s top seed

"So Nick after you saw what you saw from both teams offensively last night in the Rams and the chiefs can the patriots keep pace with that type of offense St. think not the patriots we've seen through ten weeks now with the patriots won't turn the ball over the way both teams Dade yesterday. They won't commit a dozen first-half penalties or close to it. The way the chiefs did yesterday, they're not going to beat themselves. But you looked at just the overwhelming offense of talent take the quarterbacks out of it and Brady last month hadn't been great take him out. Let's Brady come the playoffs going to be awesome with lesser grunk with Josh Gordon that still is not yet seemingly fully on the same page with Brady you look at what the saints have what the Rams have what the chiefs have what the Steelers have even and you say as far as talent. Perspective. The patriots are playing Tom Brady's stacked deck against him. And so I mean, I wouldn't count the patriots out in any scenario because they're so good at the details. But as far as trying to win a shootout, I know they did against cancer the earlier in the year. I was with gronk little healthier that was with the team playing a little bit better. I don't think they can keep up with the top flight offenses in the league as we're seeing them right now, we always do this in football is not a tale of the take. You look at the pats. How they play you watch the game last night. You'll be like, wow. How are they going to keep up this going to do the pets have started seven and three in the last ten years? They've done that half the time, but they've only made it to the Super Bowl with a by. So if they were to play one of these teams, and they had a bye, you're not gonna see Tareq you'll have two hundred yards that does not going to happen to a Bill Belichick team. So they might go score some points. They might build move the ball. But you're not gonna have one guy Bill to dominate the game. So in seeing this what? Say it's not about the offense. Do Bill Chitwood do something about Kansas City, entire healed. Now would Kelsey heard him would a healthy. Sammy Watkins Bill to hurt them. They have so many talented players on both side the way the Rams played patients. Couldn't do anything with that Jared Goff played that way in the Super Bowl. The patriots wooden goes, Tom because there's not one thing that they would build a take away from them was Bill bell. Check is going to try to do. The thing about is. It's not a matter who's the best right now. We know the patriots are going to get better. It's predictable. They're always better as the season goes on. So now in these last six games will they go five and one will they go six to build a get either that number two seater that number one seat that is the key to them. They will keep evolving keep getting better. Let's see how the Rams how they respond to this by a right? It's still a very very young team. I do like how they responded after the law. Us to New Orleans how they've come back and how Sean McVeigh has replaced the overall productivity of Cooper Cup. So those things I think are very very positive going forward. But the patriots they will not be the same team in January that they are today..

"The big twelve the NFL, man? It's like if you are a defensive player or deep ends of purists or somebody who likes actual defensive football. I mean, the fact they scored one hundred one hundred five points or one hundred hundred five points is ridiculous. It's ridiculous. Did play a part in the game. All right. Let's say they did make some plays. They got the turnovers they scored touchdowns. And you know, those those are the things that is what we talk about what we say a game record from a defensive lineman standpoint. But still the the athletes that were on onstage last night. And I can guarantee you that whether it'd be one of these two teams are a team. That's actually better than these two teams the New Orleans Saints makes it the Super Bowl fifty three. It's going to be unbelievable. My goodness. Assuming that all these guys stay healthy. I now this really is shaping up to be just an incredible match up in the Super Bowl. Whether it's chiefs in Rams or chiefs in saints are patriots and saints. Are patriot. Whatever it is. That combination is going to be unbelievable. And yeah, the defense did play partner Donald was able to record couple of drives in the lead to turn overs and even defensive score. But you know, this was just up and down everything that we expect it. Now, you mentioned the big twelve coming to the NFL. It's one of the thoughts that I had coming out of this game. Was this is the first time that I felt like college football, and the NFL mirrored one another in the idea that you have a couple of teams at the top in the Rams the chiefs the saints and the patriots have been up and down. But they're still the patriots. They can still put up a ton of points in a beat the chiefs by scoring forty three. But you've got a couple of teams at the top that look like they're playing a different game that look like they have separated themselves from the rest of the league. I mean you watch Steelers Jaguars on Sunday. Then you watch this. And this is not a fluke. I mean, this is consistent every week with these teams, you know, not as crazy fifty points a game. But I mean these teams are capable of doing this every single time that they take the field. Yeah. It is. And you know, Patrick Mahomes had a couple meltdowns last night. But the thing about him is that he just kept coming back and coming back and coming back, and you know, they took the lead late in the fourth quarter. They gave up the lead late in the fourth quarter. And then they had the ball. Ball late in the fourth quarter. Ultimately thrown an interception. But if you are a fan of football, and you watch your team struggled this, you know, the jets and the giants around here specifically the Buffalo Bills in buffalo. The offenses are just so stagnant. Yeah. And then all of a sudden you watch this last night, and you watch the athletes making plays you watch the quarterback throwing the ball down the field. I mean, that's what you want. That's what the league is going to this is what the league wants. I can't wait to see what this rating was last night. It had to be off the charts that had to be one of the all time ratings for Monday night football, of course, us of back and forth. And then once Twitter gets a hold of it and social media gets a hold of it. And it's twenty three twenty three at halftime. And you have explosive plays happening all over the place. You know, now a lotta times know young quarterbacks will make a mistake or they'd get sacked and fumble or they throw an interception and all of a sudden they're going to shell. But neither one of the coaches allow these players Jared Goff. Or Patrick Mahomes, more Andy Reid in batch Mahomes to go into show, especially with the start of this game. The officials were just like getting the bombs terrible. And finally, you always talk about how like the NFL Commissioner's office in things seemed to happen. The way that you want him to get straightened out like I'm not saying that this happened. But the thought crossed my mind the beginning of his game. So from the NFL's got a call down there and say don't stop calling penalties, but stopped calling his many penalties because this game we're supposed to see these two teams go up and down the field and this track beat and you keep throwing speed bumps in front of him. So I did sort of changes the game went on. But boy was at frustrating his hell in the first quarter that every single play. There was a flag. It really was. And the chiefs seemed like they're a little bit out of sorts says the game started, but he still scored fifty one nine now they scored fifty one point. I mean, Patrick Mahomes had one of the most incredible NFL performances on both sides that I've ever seen because you've got six touchdown passes. But yet the three interceptions and then the loss fumble. I mean, you know, we gave the ball away five times the two lost fumbles in the three hundred fifty one point six touchdowns like the giant game on Sunday. They had four turnovers, but they gave up thirty five s. Right. I it's it's crazy. It's almost like these coaches have just said, you know, what we're throwing caution to the wind. We trust our quarterbacks. We're going to give them a great game plan on where to go out there. We're just going to let it rip and Jared Goff. I mean, I felt like early on that Sean McVeigh was sending a message to the league that hey, Mike quarterbacks just as good as their quarterback Mike quarterback in its own right is happening MVP season. And when you take a look at the quarterback top of the leaderboard here now. Yeah. I mean drew Brees is completing seventy seven percent of his passes twenty five touchdowns and only one interception. I mean, that's insane. I would tell you that their team overall is better than the two teams that we saw last night. Yeah. I think so. And even if you do that. Well, the Rams lost the saints. And the Rams then beat the chiefs you could do that. But I I would agree especially the way that the the saints of blown teams out. They haven't lost week one. It's been incredible the run that they are on. And and you're right. I mean, it felt like Sean McVeigh wanted to keep up with Patrick Mahomes via his own passing game because Todd Gurley for Todd Gurley was basically a non factor in the game. What are you have twelve carries? Four catches for seventy six yards total. I think he ran for seventy of the seventy six yards. Yeah. I mean, usually girlies over one hundred he's got six or seven catches. The guy's got a couple of touchdowns. And it just it didn't happen last night. Brand was coming for everybody else yet Everett with a couple of touchdowns Reynolds in. Woods, and it was just Goth ran for one. So it wasn't. It wasn't a girly night. It was more. If we're going to match you through the air because we know that's what Patrick Mahomes, you're going to be doing on the other side. I mean, the crazy thing is is that. They had the chiefs said almost one hundred yards total offense more than the Rams because there was there. A couple of defensive touchdowns and short field for all fences to make plays in one or two play series. I think that's one of the things that impacted the fact that the Rams didn't have to go as far as the chiefs did. But I mean this this game was it was exhausting. And I thought I really honestly bought the Patrick Mahomes gonna pull it out. I really did to opportunities. I wanted it to go into overtime. Yeah. I wanted them to get down into field goal range kicked a field goal. Tie the game, go to overtime. But you know, it's just it's unfortunate that e through the interception at the end of the game a little bit of pressure. But I don't know if this is a prelude to what we think Super Bowl fifty three is gonna look like no matter who the teams are in it or because I don't see. I don't see Houston's not getting there. No Tennessee's not getting there. Like, I'm trying to think Baltimore's not getting there. I'm trying to think that these teams maybe maybe Pittsburgh gets there because their defense actually is pretty damn good. Yeah. I mean, they have a shot, but it's tough for me to say the Steelers right now with the way that the chiefs play offense and keeping up with that even though they have their own great offense. But just keeping up with that. It's very difficult, and the fact that the Steelers can never beat the patriots. When it matters. So I mean, if if they run into the patriots in the playoffs, then see you later, so just hard for me. I mean, they are a solid three for me in that conference right now with the way these other teams are playing I mean, it is impossible. Like, I can't imagine you get any of these teams at home. How you beat them? Honestly, you get the chiefs at Arrowhead. How are you better? Not better not trip up. They better not have to go on the road because their defense is really helped by playing an Arrowhead heads a pain in the ass place to play man for the opposing quarterback in the opposing team. So I don't know they can go anywhere and they can score points. But at the end of the day, the the home team defense is going to get the boost it needs from the home crowd. I thought like that even the Rams gave up fifty one points last night. They did make some plays on defense. Yeah. They did. Right and huge plays two defensive touchdowns from the same guy. I mean, Aaron Donald with the two big plays the sack fumbles that were just crucial. So I mean this game. You would think you if you didn't watch it. It'd be like fifty four fifty one. There's no defense. Well, no. I mean there was actually plenty of defense. I mean the chiefs had their own defensive touchdown. They also had that fumble early on in the second quarter where they recovered it. That led to the Kareem hunt screen for TD. So knowing the defense is were involved, and they were, but I mean, it's just so hard to keep up with these quarterbacks in these offenses because they're just so brilliant. I mean, they really are guys are running wide open all over the place. I mean, you know, that Wade Phillips Sean McVeigh and all the defensive players on the Rams known to not let tyreek hill get behind you in a in a any sort of situation, and there it was running wide open down the middle of a field for the touch the play designed the pace. I mean the way that these guys throw the football even Jared Goff for the first time. I saw him missing guys a little bit an under throwing them a couple of times through a couple of in the dirt..

"So I just believe in this game because Dennis Allen I had conversation with him. He felt like their defense was going to come around after getting off to a very shaky starting week number one and number two but Davenport, their number one rookie, they try. Up for he's out being injured. He was playing some spectacular football starting to find his way as a rookie now on the positive standpoint. Lattimore cornerback got off to a rough start. He is playing the best football coming off the game last week against the Vikings. Probably a second best game of the season. So there's some things I'm concerned about defensively they're going to miss Davenport. And you can't have more in too much man to man, and what they're facing with with the Rams. I don't think that they have the answer for defensively, I think this is going to be one of the most exciting games we've seen in eighteen season with all that score that change the approach of Sean Payton or Sean McVeigh or how combat what the Rupp against. We did see last week when the Rams offense was stalling the aggression on that fake. Punt saw the in the first half. They didn't wait for it to be panic time. They said we're going to try to give ourselves jolt right now. Now that ended up not even being one of the two biggest special teams plays. The Rams made. We know. Sean Payton is not afraid to be aggressive. We know Sean Payton will trust ru res trust trust is offense. Maybe use tastes them hill in some odd. Formations are on those fourth insured situations. I just think the saints go into this game. And they know if we lose this game our ceiling is the two seat. If we lose this game we top out at hoping the Rams lose or having to go to Los Angeles in the playoffs. If they win this game. It's still on the board for them that if these teams play again, it'll be in the same building. So I think for the Utah a lot about who's more desperate. Neither teams desperate when it six and one against eight. No, right. But this this game means more to New Orleans as far as what the projection of their seasons. The new rule changes Sarah special teams, aren't they don't have the game is not offense a third defensive third special teams at third because they've negated some of the kicks those percentages are down. But. These two teams very very aggressive as far as special teams, and they have great special teams. We saw last week where the Rams gained in advantage gained the possession by tempting on fourth down by having their punter. Throw a pass now. Mike westoff the special teams coordinator for the Saint is one of the legendary special teams coach, and they have Tyson tastes hill. The quarterback return into look for them to maybe do some trick play. So I do believe these coaching staffs will be far more aggressive and this year like no other year, man. We've seen more coaches going for it on fourth down going for two points to try to win gain. So I think that's only going trend in the league coaches being more aggressive. And so what's very interesting about these two teams. They have one thing offensively. That's very similar and one thing that couldn't be more different the similarity. They never go three. Now. The Rams have the fewest three announce in the league the saints of the third fewest. Like, you're not getting a quick. Stop against either. One of these two teams their offense is too potent. But the saints have been great this year at long touchdown drives ten plus play. Touchdown drives get third most in the NFL. The ram shockingly have the fewest. Now, you wouldn't think a team that is third in the league in scoring scoring thirty three points game would be the fewest of anything that's positive offense of stat. But it's because they have been more quick strike. They have been more. We're going to give it to girly. Give it to girly. Make you trust that play action than issue over the head with Cup with copper with Brandon. And that's one thing that watches we go forward because right now them being eight..

By the way, just a just popped it like Luke Walton just pumped into LeBron did it earlier LeBron number one sport show in Las Sean McVeigh. Did it Sean McVeigh did it? It seems to be catching on Chris, Chris Moore, Alliston the number one sport show in l. a. Mason in Ireland every he was very reluctant. I think our morning show Keyshawn l z and Travis is the second best sport show in Los Angeles. I, I'm more partial show guy. I'm more partial to this Sodano show. Interesting. You know what's interesting. I think that when that devote you know how when when divorces happen the friends split? Yeah, in the divorce you went to the morning show. I went to the Sodano show. Yeah, also Travis got the kids in the morning. Exactly. Got the kids full custody. I so yesterday dodgers five to in game five of the NFL CS I got a great seats. He's in Milwaukee. What would you have done? I give you choice the stations paying for it. You can either come here for the game tonight or you can go to Milwaukee for the game tomorrow. Where are you going. Given the high leverage nature of the National League championship series and given the thirty year drought. I think I would have gone to Milwaukee. Yeah. And what makes them now? I'm really rooting for the dodgers to win in game six because Jim can be at the home opener on Saturday. Yeah, that's right. If the dodgers ended tomorrow night. What time is that game tomorrow? By the way, Greg five thirty five thirty five thirty. And what's the game on Saturday? Six clocks. "Eight, seven hundred thirty five yards digs at eleven receptions one hundred twenty three yards. We understand. That woulda came to leave out and Marcus Peters hobbled, but in the lineup, it compromises them to some degree. I get that understated, I sweat. I really, really not. I'm really not. But for those of y'all out there who want to get caught up in Jared golf and that perfect performance that he had a perfect one fifty eight point three passer rating the man finished twenty six thirty three for four hundred sixty five yards. Five touchdown passes not a single interceptions. Sean McVeigh was was raven about his leadership. His stewardship, his generalship. Gurley had eighty three yards. Rushing that went bad. Cup with sensational with our separatists. One hundred sixty two yards with two touchdowns including a seventy yard. Brandin cooks at seven receptions one hundred sixteen yards included a forty, seven yard touchdown. I get it. That's a lot to be excited about until this. Have you seen Minnesota's defense? Did you see how many times Sean McVeigh chose to attack Anthony ball. The man infamous for hurting Arron Rogers that bed man last season that Anthony ball. Well guess what? They picked on him. Oh night, low. Picked on him. Sean McVay found him an isolated spot and he got torched, but any loss Angeles ran within his vicinity. Minnesota's past defense was watching. People go over the middle one, putting the hat on them, body on them, nothing, letting them take pictures and hang out with the crew and have conversations while running rot before even thought about catching the damn ball because they had nothing to worry about. It gets Minnesota's defense, Minnesota as a bunch of frauds. That's what this is about is greatest. Jared Goff was last night is formidable as Los Angeles as rents as Los Angeles offense as. Last night or was last night. Let me tell you the Minnesota Vikings are officially fraudulent. Officially fraudulent. There is no doubt about that. Perfect pass, Jared Goff, right the over the double teams that had nothing to do with Anthony Barr. Understand that. But after the ball was practically in every other play, other than the forty nine yard touchdown, the cooks, I mean three to five touchdowns. Anthony ball was targeted, but guess what? Minnesota's defense overall, they ain't impressive. And we talked about them being a Super Bowl, contender. Grabby, Kirk cousins in the off season, giving him twenty eight million guaranteed per year eighty four million dollars. Overall, let me tell you something. Kirk cousins was the problem last night. Dour cook only at twenty yards rushing and he wasn't the problem. Last thing, the problem is Minnesota's defense. Minnesota doesn't have one, then not impressive. They look flat out embarrassing, and the bottom line is, is that look when you look at them the Minnesota Vikings, this is the same team that gave up sixty two points in the last six quarters. The playoffs last year and the residue clearly has not faded and dissipated. It has not. Minnesota is not impressive. They just are not and we can slice it anyway. We wanted to. We could play all the games. We want to roads Joseph curse hill Richardson, kendricks his it doesn't matter that just not that good. You could throw in them all day long. They're looking at each other. They're not. They're not in sync on what defenses to call what defenses to defend against. They're not body in receivers. They're letting their allowing them to be too comfortable. Where's this fearsome? Second edition of the purple people eaters. Nobody will confuse them with that bunch of this. Minnesota Vikings used to be famous for their defense. Now they're just bad. They have no business being Super Bowl contenders period. We can slice it anyway. We want to. They have no business being Super Bowl contenders the Minnesota Vikings are not. And guess what you gave Kirk cousins eighty four million dollars. So it's perfectly plausible that you might have wasted your time doing that. Because if you're deepens is going to stick up to join Kirk cousins, they drew Brees. You can't overcome that. We gotta wait to see, Matt Ryan is going to overcome that. We don't know. We gotta wait and see a Big Ben Rothlisberger is going to overcome that. We don't know. But there's no way to put this. The Minnesota Vikings are not impressive. The quite embarrassing. And you know what? It's not a great thing. It's not a great thing right now..

Vikings know the stakes against undefeated Rams: 'It's very big'

"Three undefeated teams left in the NFL and the Rams are one of them off to a hot start as we all thought. But and this is a big, but the teams they've beaten have a combined one eight record this season. So a true test Thursday night against the Vikings seems to be what this team needs Rams head coach, Sean McVeigh says Minnesota will provide a great challenge coach. What's the biggest challenge at the Vikings defense presents this high-powered Rams offense, come Thursday night. Things that I like about the Vikings defense, talented, that's that's the first component to they've got a variety of different pressures in different looks that incorporate and the third than they do really well disguised.

Best from NFL training camps 2018

"Next afternoons on ESPN LA Rams on the field for the first day of training camp. Two thousand eighteen here at UC Irvine and teams are opening up. All across the country were the Rams Kirk. They play a game. They have first preseason game two weeks from today in Baltimore against the ravens. So we're going to be into it fast. This is the first day at camp, but I mean, you better get up to speed pretty quickly because there's going to be games before you know it. Yeah, I and I have a joint practice next week in Baltimore Baltimore's will, but it's it's fast. Actually, two weeks from today is the first game for the Rams one week from today is actually the first preseason game between the bears and ravens. So if football is the on your appetite, trust me, you're going to get a lot of it, but it's a, it's here in this coming fast right now is practice over already. Are they there on the left side team? Jon? Okay, everybody. I remember that part of practice. It looks real chill and call. Yeah, real call. I read something today about the special teams unit that the for the first time in. NFL history. All four of the Rams specialists made the Pro Bowl. Jake mcquaid the long snappers. Johnny Hecker. Yes, Greg's arline Ferro Cooper, all four of them made the Pro Bowl, and and you know, you and I talk about it every week in and out, but that that was, you know, Todd girlies this Jared goff's, that Aaron Donald was doing what he was doing an offense and defense and Wade Phillips in Sean McVay fact of the matter is that group of guys that special teams group bones fossil in the job that he does with those guys. It gave them such a massive advantage weakened in week at they're blocking punts. They were. They were blocking extra points, everything about them, blocking field goals on special teams was above the line by a mile. Yeah. I mean, that was what to me gave. I think, Jared, also the confidence to that Sean McVeigh had to instill in him that, hey, it's okay, we, we got one of the best punters in the game. He's gonna, pin them deep and hopefully our defense and get a stop and think. That's something that the Rams can rely on this year even more so because of the way that they're special teams played a year ago that even this year now you can kind of play this a certain situations, hey, we can go take a shot deep down the field here because sometimes you gotta sit plays up. You gotta go attack in certain areas. You know, third and twelve or second and twelve fellows. We've got to go take a shot here and if we don't get the shot, if we don't get it or you know, we don't convert on third now it's okay to punt. I, it's okay. I know one of my guys always talked to former quarterback and says, Kirk, remember, always every series must intimate kick right? Always whether it's a punt a field goal point after everything has to end with the kick. So it's okay to have those punts. But when you have a guy like Hecker, who can actually in a game in which the Rams can now play that type of game in terms of, hey, this is going to be a field position game. We're not going to score a lot of points. You're going to need a guy like Hecker and he showed that last year in some situations where he's been lights out inside the twenty. You name it that that's his game and and Greg's airline, assuming he's healthy, right? I mean everything inside of fifty yards automatic. Well, to me, he's the one that won the Dallas cowboy game. Yeah. When. Few goes, you know, they couldn't really convert and get in the end zone as much as they want it. But you talk about a guy who was on and really that was the game that really that caught everyone's attention like, okay, this thing looks for real..

"Machine he was a he was a touchdown guy and he actually does make a big difference for this team so i don't blame them saying they end look their most expensive receiver tape vaughn austin all he is yeah exactly he's going to be freed up so i mean if you just take that money put it over the sammy your you probably could get the job done sure the question is whether sammy wants to be there and be in that role of being the second third right first obgyn who knows that's a good question because you aren't lead dog bush your honour on up incoming team with jared gough who looks like a franchise quarterback sean mcveigh ill wheats elite offensive mind in the nfl so would you take the the cut at your leisure level in the pecking order to stay with the team no i would i would i mean if i'm a farmer sammy i'm going to go out and test the market i'm going to see what team has a need for wide receiver that's willing to spend a lot of money who has a good quarterback of those three things route there i'm going there because you're gonna you're going to make more money for you know a short career you're going to make more money on the following contract by being the one is so long as i can have a good quarterback would you rather be on the rams or on the raiders for hunting lodge for sammy watkins i would rather be on the rams i think they're just going to be a better team and you don't know that you're going to be the wine if you go over to amari cooperstown nice not bad impending freeagent latvian bell apparently the contract talks are a lot closer than the bat hitting her lawyer retire yeah if you're in some bestball leagues hey fugger oh the way too early bestball is out by draft and we'll its california so i was playing the heck out of m be on the lookout for some invites sir.
