"And earlier this morning. Kiwi went in depth on keys. Real rankings you can check it out in depth and our one of the podcast. But we want you to reel off your top quarterbacks that are going to have the most pressure this year. These are generally speaking new guys. That are under a ton of pressure this year. Key real off wanted time. And then we'll see if christie agrees we'll get some tweets and we'll get the fellas to call in to see who you're missing chris. I had it number five. I had don don donal ahead. Andy dalton because i think when you look at mr bisky he took chicago to the play offs. Andy dalton kinda was bad in dallas. now goes chicago. you look at the situation there. They trae one guy for the next but if he doesn't live up to those expectations at least getting them into the playoffs he could be goan. Nagy be gone. The general manager pace can be gone. It could be an entirely new regime there at the four spot trying to remember. Who did i have it four. Was it donald. Sam darnold and half sam four because you look yet similar situation where it was the starting quarterback in place in teddy bridgewater but carolina has a lot of weapons in a solid defense christian. Mccaffrey robby anderson. You start to look at. What they're capable of doing joe brady calling plays The office coordinator. So you say sam didn't do well last year. They were two and fourteen here in new york. Now he goes. They give up picks to get him. He has an opportunity. They're going to pick up his fifth year option mate and he has an opportunity to kind of re energize his career there. That's a lot of pressure. The third guy on my list was jameis. Winston james comes in he takes over. Drew brees you know you hear about thirty interceptions thirty thousand. I laugh at chuckle at you. When you said daniel jones a lot of those turnovers were not his fault. Well i say anything about james wisden a lot of those turnovers. Not all on him. Some of them were tipped balls. Some of balls off the hands of the receivers and some of them were thrown to the other team. I look shy painting with sean. Payton can do him to get him moving and going in the right direction and then the number two guy for me was carson wentz. I flipped them. Carson was three instead of two. I flipped him. James was too but now carson wentz i look carson wentz coming over from the philadelphia. Eagles being traded to indianapolis coached team that had a took buffalo down to the wire in the playoffs With an old guy named philip rivers. Everything is perfect. Frank reich is there. You got receivers and young michael pittman junior. You got running games and taylor. You've got an offense. Align defense is solid. There's no excuses and no issues for carson winston carson. Wentz should certainly get back on track to his winning ways when he was a rookie. And then guys matthew stafford you know. We heard so many excuses about why matthew stafford hasn't succeeded in detroit. He didn't have players. The coaches are bad. Or this is that you got all these excuses for matthew stafford now. There's no excuses right. There's not you go out to la. They gave up the form to get you. They gave up picks. They gave jared goff a guy they gave up picks to get with the number one overall. Pick you got a hell of a defense. You got skill position. Weapons and robert woods and cooper kupp in those guys anderson at the running back. Spot cam akers. I mean you got everything. You got an offense of innovator. Three years ago this head coach you stand next to him. You can get a job and you stand next to sean mcvay. Zubin they hire you. Thank you your next head coach. Like sean mcvay. There's no excuses so that's my list to should been jamie's instead of three and wind should have been three instead of two but you get it. I get where you come from. The one thing i will push back on a little bit with matt stafford. It is in comparison to the other three guys that are behind him on this list. He's an established quarterback in this league. He's proven over a period of time that he's capable of playing high quality football like those other quarterbacks they've shown it in flashes but they haven't been as consistent and i think in a lot of ways they're fighting for their career mortalities as starters in this league so that's the one thing that i will look at it and say i don't know if i would have stafford as number one on this list. The expectations are going to be through the roof with the rams and coming over in that trade because two first round draft picks is a lot to give up for a quarterback at his age with two years remaining on his contract. So i get where you're coming from. I just look at those other quarterbacks. And i feel like those are more pressure packed situations particularly when you look at the carson wentz circumstances because everybody and their mama makes excuses for carson wentz. Ask me why he couldn't have success. Last year why he led the nfl in sacks and interceptions and only played in twelve games now. Those excuses are gone. You've got a really good offensive line and indy. They're working on putting really good skill position players around you. You gotta thousand yard rusher in jonathan taylor. You gotta defense. That's parentally in the top. Ten there are no excuses as to why carson wentz kid go out there and have success. And when i say success. This is not just getting to the playoffs. It's having a chance to win. Playoff games. And put this team in title contention rounds. That's what people are going to be looking at carson wins to do in twenty twenty one matthew stafford. In the same position coursing winces in jira. Golf took his team to the super bowl. Two years ago took his team to the playoffs again last year. He's been in the playoffs three to four years that he was with the rams as starting quarterback they gave up two first round picks. Get matthew stafford. The only thing that you ever heard out of la is. What's the problem with. the rams. The quarterback was the problem with the rams quarterback. What's pro quarterback. Nothing else had nothing to do with the coach to do with the receivers. Nothing to do with the defense. It was always the quarterback so now you insert a guy that you believe can get you over the top. So you say okay. I'm investing in him in this short term to see if matt stafford can get us over the top to pack our new stadium because we expect a guy who was in detroit that put up crazy numbers year in a year out. The only thing he was missing was a.

"sean mcvay" Discussed on The Rich Eisen Show

"Some point. We'll felt we had the lead meetings in. Kabul wow sean mcvay here on the rich eisen show okay so while i have a few minutes left with you. Let's let's have a little fun. Because i know you've got your own house in order to to to be concerned about you've got your own team you've got your own competition In the nfc west so commenting about somebody else's house in your division is something I'll give a little bit of a world here know about evaluating quarterbacks you know about your system being your system or at least your scheme being your scheme and you knowing exactly. What's right for it so and you know about being aggressive to get the quarterback that you want if the opportunity is there. Do you think the forty niners made this trade to go up to number three overall without fully knowing which quarterback not name lawrence or wilson. They're going to take do you think they're still truly of evaluating who they're taking third overall. Sean mcvay what do you think what do you think of that are turning the tables. That's a very veteran maneuver. I will say. I don't think i think they have to know who they have. They can't say because anything can happen and clearly they're not gonna give up the pick. They're not doing this to trade it in for better picks i think they have to know and i think the go to the owner and saying this is the guy that we think Dan nfc the with no chance that there wasn't a strong feeling or at least an appreciation for no matter. What happens with those first to pick with jacksonville new york. We're gonna feel great about it. I do know this and this is what you always respect about. You know kyle. And and when. I worked for mike They're going to do their work. They're going to be convicted in their beliefs. There's the security that exists where they trust the expertise and their due diligence. I know cows going to be studying. The heck out of these guys that are possibilities and I do think that everything was gone with a with a plan in mind walson on that. I'm sure they're still kinda really ironing out to make sure. But i'd have a tough time believing knowing how intentional kyle is about everything and and john and and those guys in san francisco that they didn't feel good no matter what the scenario is about either one or two guys or few that that would be available at that third. Pick when you when you give that much to go but they might not be sharing it with many breathing people on the planet but you think that when they when john lynch struck that deal with shanahan with the jed york green light that they know who they they. They're gonna take right. yeah. I think. I think there was an intention that no matter. What happened with those first two picks. We're gonna feel great about giving this up and what we're going to acquire in the player that we choose at the three spot man. What a division arizona keeps adding people to we all know at the drama with russell. Looks like he's coming back. It's a phenomenon you got your in a deep end of the pool man. But it's a it's a fun pool. It's a funnel not you know. It's a pool that i wouldn't mind being in to be honest with you but Like a fun for you to say. I was swimming in the deep end. You love the competition. Plus you've got the pacific ocean too so you got the ocean also Exactly right before. I let you go the subject matter of off season workout voluntary offseason workouts. Being on the table As a conversation piece as well as a potential not going to do this piece. We saw a handful of teams already or players on these teams. Say they're not gonna participate in any in person voluntary off season workout programs. How do you as an h. C in the nfl feel about the possibility of voluntary workouts. Not being Once again for a second straight year A viable for a lot of players. Yeah i think for coaches were always gonna want the opportunity to connect and work with our players you know and that's not gonna change But i think it is important that we're listening. We're understanding the perspective that they're coming from and then figuring out what is the best way to collaborate and to be able to communicate with one another in a way that that ultimately gets the solution. That's best for our football team. And so i think there's a lot of things that will still need to be figured out when you bring into the conversation. Vaccines what does that mean. You know the league came out with a memo Yesterday basically saying. Hey here's what the parameters are around one face to face three so you know we're gonna be all virtual for the first month with our meetings. They'll be an option to come in and left and then we'll kind of just take it a day time and and we've got to be able to have the flexibility and the agility to adjust and adapt accordingly. But it's about listening and and really collaborating with these guys is the important thing for and who are the. Who's the guy who talked about that. Is that a whitworth conversation. Who else do talk to work. That's an aaron donald. That's a matthew. Stafford that is you know jalen ramsey. That's those guys that have been your leaders the woods the cups you know. We've got a leadership committee. You know you really lean on those guys and understand their perspective and You know there's so well thought out and they've got experiencing an understanding from both ends of the spectrum and so. I think it would be naive of me not to listen to those guys coach. Appreciate it really. Always enjoy our chats. I'll be at the draft on thursday night I'll be thinking of you know raising a. It could be a trading places across the country. I'll just raise my glass to you like Looking good sean. Feeling good rich or something like that. We could have one of those type moments through the television set on that first night of the draft. And then we'll jack up. The rams the rams coaching staff will figure out a way to play draughts bingo or something and just watch like fans. I look forward to being the the the you gotta you know. You gotta have us on the on the screen. I mean just out. There is an iron rich eisen coach. Just let's put all pulled together in the right spot okay. Let's do that. And i love it. I it's always good to be back on and like shawn well. Hopefully sooner than later. I can come see guys in person too. I look forward to that. I pound the table for that. Thank you for the call. That sean mcvay of the los angeles rams right here on the rich eisen show took every fiber of my being to say to him. You know you gotta have awesome. Nfl network the one.

Fresh update on "sean mcvay" discussed on Mornings with Keyshawn, Jorge & LZ

"Key is going to be new. The most pressure on new quarterbacks that could be newly drafted in ten eleven or twelve days or it could be guys that are just on new teams via trade or free agency this off season. So that's the deal new quarterbacks most pressure key takeaway number five you know i would say it. To fifth spot is andy and dunk comes over from the dallas cowboys. The chicago bears. Chicago was in the playoffs. No matter what you say with mitch trubisky a year ago and the dot did play great for the dallas cowboys now. He goes to a playoff team and if he doesn't get them back into the playoffs he could be going along with the coaching staff alone with pace to general manager out of chicago. They're banking on him to beat the guy even if they do draft a quarterback. He starts to season as one number four four. Sam darnold sam. Darnold was traded from the jets to the carolina. Panthers teddy bridgewater presumably on the move here soon. But here's a football team with a lot of talent. They got some playmakers on offense side of the ball and carolina. You talk about mccaffrey. The running back spot. Robby anderson at the receiver position. You look to sam donna to get back to that position where he was when the jets selected him three overall. They believe in him. I don't know that they'll draft a quarterback in the first round. I think he's the future. They've have a decision to make on his fifth year option. Which i think they pick up in may. He has an opportunity to prove people wrong starting in carolina starting this season number three at the thurs spot carson wentz. Here's a guy who was bench last year with the philadelphia eagles goals from philadelphia to a playoff team in the indianapolis colts replacing philip rivers as a lot riding on carson wentz. When you think about it what's the one thing we all said. He needs frank right in his life. Well he has frank right in his life again so now let's see of course and win because they went to the playoffs last year in made a deep run at the buffalo bills although they didn't get it done any in philip rivers retires. He takes over. Ken coates get it done with carson wentz number two number two a lot of chuckles at this one. I'm sure jameis. Winston jameis winston thirty for thirty james thirty touchdowns thirty interceptions with the tampa bay buccaneers. But sean payton feels good about james. He felt good about james when he's signing two years ago in free agency to be a backup. He thinks that he could get him to beat a quarterback that was selected as a number one overall pick. He's had some bright spots in moments with the tampa bay buccaneers in his career but he also had some bad moments they make. They left him out for did they picked him up and they're going to try to dusty off. Let's see what it is now number one. The number one guy in all of the land is matthew stafford. matthew stafford wanted out of detroit. They gave him his wishes. He's now the los angeles rams. The rams moved on from jared goff. Everyone's saying even our own. Dan orlovsky who play with matthew stafford. All staffer need is a quality. Here coach gets wanted. Sean mcvay he needs an offense he gets one in the rams. He needs to be surrounded with great defense. He gets a defense with aaron donald. Jalen ramsey. let's see if this is. What matthew stafford one big numbers in detroit. Big big numbers in detroit. Any air flying all over the place. It was never his fault. It was always the rest of the team for now. You get a super bowl ready team. Jared goff two years ago led them to the super bowl super bowl ready team now. Let's see what you can do matthew. Now let's see what you can do keep in mind. Stafford is an owen. Three career playoff record. Which would engender a ton of support and confidence but to keys point if all of stafford supporters are right in saying get me an organization. That's not the detroit. Lions i was making throwing for five thousand yards. Look like nothing before everybody was doing it. All right trap so obviously. He's on his way to los angeles. I assume this is something. You guys have spoken about a ton on seven ten. What do you make of keys number. One selection stafford and his list in general. Yeah well first of all. I want to start at the bottom. I think that andy dalton prefers to go by his new name of qb one. So i think we need Right he's the respect that he deserves. No i agree with key at the top of the list. I think that matthew stafford is under an immense amount of pressure. Because you know doing the rams pregame postgame time show that the conversation is always about jared goff when when they would lose and they didn't lose a whole bunch of times it was always well if he hadn't thrown two picks if you hadn't fumbled twice if you had made the same mistakes in week eight that make in week four. The made week two. Then they would be onto something. You could see the sean mcvay frustration. We continue to build and build and build and it was almost always about the quarterback. So yeah i and then of course you had in the price tag right so you give away. A bunch of first round draft picks to get rid of the guy that you gave away a bunch of first round draft picks to go get in the first place they ran had a first round draft pick and five years. They're not going to have another one for another couple. So that means matthew stafford needs to be that guy right away and here's where it gets a little interesting to is why i think all the pressure is on matt stafford for all the reasons that key mentioned and all the reasons that i agree him i think the first time since he's become the head coach here. The pressure goes to sean mcvay a little bit as well. When he showed up taking over. Jeff fisher there was no expectations and then they want and then they went to the super bowl and they had a bad year and everybody went okay. That kind of happens after the super bowl hangover thing and then last year. They didn't go deep into the playoffs. Because the quarterback spot was not as good as it needed to be if it doesn't work with the quarterback. Whose fault is that now because we all know that the average pretty good player like you mentioned all those numbers if they're not winning then it's maybe it's not the quarterback maybe it's not the other things other than the guy that's making those decisions. I don't think that it is but that's the question that will be asked if the rams continue to be a little disjointed offensively because key senate a second ago they went to the two years ago with jared goff well. That was two years ago in the two years. Since then jared goff got worse significantly worse. So if he's gone in the team continues to just sit where they are then. I don't think that that's a quarterback problem. I think that's something else. Well you you'd think about it. And i know we talk about the offense in the quarterback sexiness of the position. But you got to think about the defense to. This'll be the third defensive coordinator in three years. I mean so you way. Phillips in their staley now raheem morris comes over as new defensive coordinator rodney. Morris has had some spots here and there as a you know a couple of games.

Rams' Sean McVay noncommittal on future of Jared Goff as starter: 'I'm evaluating everything, including QB'

"So there's been a lot of talk you know. Mcvay doesn't criticize a lot of people. And even when he does he's chose to sugar coat and everything's on the table so you may have heard. Essentially he said saturday after the playoff loss to the packers that jared goff quarterback right now with the emphasis on the last two words there sunday. He said everything's on the table but maybe he was giving us an indication that this was happening and things were bubbling a couple of weeks ago. Go back to their first playoff game. There wildcard game against the seattle seahawks key. This is just me speculating. You tell me having been in so many locker rooms and having dealt with so many situations right that game john. Wolford is starting quarterback. Jared goff is the number two quarterback with a thumb injury. This is important. there is no number. Three quarterback blake bortles inactive. So if john wolford where to get injured during the game which actually happened very scary neck injury ambulance came out. Then jared goff would presumably have to come in for the next snap and with no number three quarterback he would have to presumably play the rest of the game. So help me understand. If you're in a situation where wolfer gets hurt on the second snap. Hypothetically fourth snap the game. You've got a rush right in there and likely finished the game because nobody is behind you on the depth chart if you were healthy enough to do that. Play almost every single. Snap of a game if something goes wrong with the starter right out of the gate which is exactly what happened. How in the world are you not healthy enough to start. I think look in the end. It's all about numbers. If they put three quarterbacks up the somebody else has to go down and on an active list. And maybe they wanna. I don't know what they wanted. But maybe they want an extra defense alignment or extra offense alignment or whatever the case may be also when you didn't have the necessary reps throughout the course of the week for jared goff as he was practicing because of the surgery they kind of eased him alone in kind of wanted to let it heal but he was forced in action so therefore the you had no other choice.

Rams superstar Aaron Donald upset at end of playoff loss

"The packers thirty two eighteen on saturday and heading into the weekend lindsay. You wrote that you were really excited to see this. Coaching matchup between matlock floor. And sean mcvay. What stood out to you in the battle of the minds here. Yeah i mean because these are two guys who know each other so well and you know. They're very much part of the same coaching tree. They both worked under kyle shanahan about the flora then works Under sean mcvay. So they have very similar offensive philosophies but that was just a game that was full of really interesting. Coaching matchups mallon floor wine. That batch up by far the packers had the better game plan. They were the better team better coach. All of this and sure aaron. Donald was not at full strength. You could tell that. He was very clearly hampered by the rib injury that he suffered during the wild card round but it was just a very impressive performance overall by aaron rodgers and certainly by matt leflore and that entire coaching staff the packers put up four hundred and eighty four yards of total offense against basically the best defense in the league. talked about aaron donald. Who's just a generational talent. Not being at full strength. But how is this packers offense. So effective saturday night. We'll everything they do. Obviously starts with aaron rodgers. Who just seem to have this innate mastery of what was coming and it kind of went viral on twitter a little bit because so many of fox's camera angles shown face on with aaron rodgers where you could see the moment that he realized what was coming that he was able to diagnose the coverage and dictate the play based on what was coming and the offensive line played really well protecting aaron rogers. He was barely touched. I'm not sure if his jersey had a single grass stain on after the game. And you know when you're not getting pressure on a quarterback and you're running the ball really well and you have davante adams who's one of the best wide receivers and football. It really wasn't even a close match up. And you know. I know a lot of people in green bay throughout packers land. Were wondering this is the best defense in football and it has to make you wonder. If that's the way that the packers aaron rodgers played against supposedly the best defense in football. What are they going to do for the rest of the

Green Bay predictions: NFC divisional playoff vs. Los Angeles

"It we've been talking about. The announcement. Made sean mcvay announcing jared goff will be the starting quarterback this weekend for the green bay packers or four. The la rams against the green bay packers in green bay. Where right now. The packers on pregame.com. Six and a half point favorites. It's important to remember and it's obvious green. Bay's the number one see green bay. Is the one team the gutter by so the question is how to buy teams do in the playoffs. So if we look back and say okay. Let's look at the modern era. As i call two thousand twelve and beyond and that's because it's the first year four year after the new agreement that changed a practicing and all that things is. This really did change after that. And from twelve on teams off a by or with the by the playoffs who are not favored by a touchdown or more nine and five against the spread so a wonderful. Ats record for reasonably priced by team. The number one or in the past and the number two seed now the next game. We're going to cover and we're going to finish up. The rams is going to be kansas city. Who's the other by team. They're in a different category spread wise and it's different results in that game now. Why do i like green bay. And it is against the sharks. We talked about the sharps. Like the ramps and remember they like the rams plus seven and a half they like the rams a-plus avid now element mind is six and a half. So it's obviously. I don't have to go head to head with the sharps as much as i'm getting a slightly better number and i still disagreeing with them. Though in another reason is i think the rams are little bit overrated on. Defense doesn't mean i don't think they have a good defense. I think they have a top five defense. But i think this price is telling us because we know the offense is and all that good and we know. Jerry gov is playing all that well all the doubts about golf and mcveigh's questioned that's all given how they still the sharp side. It's a defensive matter or it's an anti packers. That's the only reason you could the rams you love their defense or you don't like the pack which it can't be about the rams offense it just can't be so even though you could make the case. Oh the rams can run. The ball aggressively in green bay struggled against that last year. Okay maybe but boy if you're one dimensional. That's tough and the reason. Though i think the rams d might be a little overrated is because if you look at their strength of opposition and we're talking about the opposing offenses now. There's been numerous times throughout the year that they didn't play the best quarterback that that team had throughout the year. So let's use the perfect example. Arizona cardinals were the seventeenth. Best offense in football show right about average so the rams playing that offense their defense against that offense. It looks like okay. The rams dominated an average offense. That's a good thing except the quarterback. Wasn't the normal starting quarterback for the car knows. It wasn't collor murray. It was a backup

I think he's gonna totally nail it and and hopefully it will be so distracting that he will forget about aaron donald and get sacked four times on saturday. Yeah by the way i think. They're basically having tryouts for jeopardy aren't they. Yeah you alex trebek's recommended for that job. Which was a huge compliment. Was alex faust the kings young announcer. Yeah he is. Canadian sees a hockey fan and he would watch kings games at home and he thought alec said the look in the voice to host. Jeopardy's i don't know if alex is going to get a crack at it. But but he was recommended by alex. Trebek's himself To be a potential guest host.

"Talking a little bit about the situation with kyrie irving and the brooklyn nets just to highlight it. Kyri sorta went awol. This week ended up according to video at his sisters thirtieth birthday party. Without a mask he is going to deal with some covert protocol issues right now and there's really no explanation. Why he disappeared in the first place. Mike what do you do for with kyrie irving. Well simple if i was sean marks. Gm would call kerry in or text him or call him on the phone or whatever and asking plain and simple. Are you in as your heart in this or not. Yes or no and if he says yes and get your behind back here to work and let's go to work. This is unfair to your teammates and to the brooklyn fans. Either in or you're out one of you can't be halfway can't be you know we all have personal things to deal with in our lives. We all have to work through them. You know death sickness. Whatever but you gotta find out is are you in this year or not. Let me know now. Yeah i don't know if with that's an if he'd says no. I don't notice it will tell you what we'll just put your leave of absence. I'll try to do it without you. Do you really think re- ever knows his. 3 Fun Facts About the NFL Wild Card Weekend

"Card Weekend fun facts. Did you know that I did not notice the head coach of the Colts Frank Reich Greek Reich, right? Let's go with Reich. He looks like our friend Rob Chickering. Hi, every time we see Craig a sponge bag. That's not the fun fact. So the fun fact is like for those of you who don't know who to help Rob Chickering is that does not matter know the fun fact is Frank Wright was drafted by the bills from 1985 and he faces them this weekend in the wild card game that fun fact more. Fun fact, Amy and I weren't even born yet. That's more amazing fun. Right no choice. Oh, yeah. I mean fun fact number to Pete Carroll is 34 years and 131 days older than Sean McVay. So Seattle plays the Rams this coming weekend right? I know a dead. All right, so Pete Carroll 34 years and 131 days older than Sean McVeigh which sets the record for the largest age differential between opposing head coaches in a playoff game in NFL history. This is so dorky. I'm pretty convinced Joey said you that one because she's been walking around feeding me stats from the 2013 Seahawks season. Shoot me fucking shoot me dead. Yeah, so I didn't realize that a baby shot McVeigh is but he totally is again, we've been like, oh my gosh, like cradle-robbing with him. Yeah. He's younger than I am fuck off. Okay, I don't want let's not talk about it. All right moving on the one thing real quick remove on cuz you're talking about the Seahawks because of the masks. I miss Pete Carroll chewing like a maniac I miss seeing them come with you can't see it under his mask know remember when he'd see his mouth like this like I'm doing a search. Yeah. I look like a squirrel but like it's his mouth go Bonkers and the gifts were better that way now we're just looks dead. A mask that's vibrating. It's weird. Maybe it is maybe he's got some fun going on toward his mask. That's the mask. We need adds to the most everybody needs a phone. Next. Fun fact, fun fact number three Lamar Jackson won the MVP in 2019, but he lost in the playoffs to the Titans. Now, they face the Titans again this weekend and change history does not suggest that he will get revenge because each of the previous quarterbacks to lose a playoff game the year that they won MVP and then played the same opponent following year lost that rematch. So if you're going by that fact, you're looking at a Titans win,

"In l. levin stahl at the chris morale is growl out like like i've had to check myself and say like hey. Let's try not to do that too. Don't do it for yourself ramona. Do it for everybody else do root for professionalism do it for like it feels. I'm not sure if. John is going to make it back from the bathroom in time. Okay and i'm like is he gonna make going to have to leave the show okay. He'll go okay ready. I know how that feels. And so i've always said to myself like let's work on this. Let's try not and greg back in the day when we will come into the studio like i was better at that right like i have been like since you have improved you have you've got bidders yes and some of the stuff is somewhat unavoidable right. Like i'll be on the phone we'll be like. Hey i'm sorry. I got him on with a row. I'll get officers. I can't write some of this unavoidable. But there's with jared goff his issues like can he change can't he grow. His issues are about turnovers taking care of the ball making reckless decisions. Maybe trying a little. Too hard sean. Mcvay less need the rams decision-makers that's what they're going to have to address going forward is can change that in him. You know. I mean the truth is going to be real with you and with myself and everybody listening. I don't know somebody who has this tardiness thing as an issue like generally what happens. Is you get burned once or twice. Then you're really good for like a month or two and then you burn again. You like slip a little bit. You know you're like man. I've been so good and then you just lose fear there's a gregg popovich term. I like appropriate fear really deep you most about the rams quarterback room but i feel you but but but you know where i'm going with this i do. This decision is made on. You got to decide. Do you think he can really change. Can he really grow out of those issues. Are the young quarterback issues. Although sloppy quarterback is you or those just issues that are going to be there the whole time mason ireland clinton. Yates ramona shelburne. Joining us right now. Rams head coach sean. Mcvay coach going to ask you right off the rip. Tell us something we don't know about john wolford because i feel like he's been introduced. Not just los angeles but to america big time this week. you know. i think we'll see on On sunday but does a great job putting himself into position to be right for this off. Coaches teammates have a lot of confidence in them and You know we just want to have a good week of preparation. I think he started off the right way. And then You know wanted to keep stacking those box all the way up until sunday. So what made you like him in the first place coach. Like that's it we. We've we've seen the alliance football clips. We read re roof. You highs love him right He's got a lot of fans around there. But but you obviously saw something in him where you entrusted hit wolford with this role as your backup quarterback now you gotta lean on him you gotta you gotta roll with. What wasn't a couple years ago. Did a good job brought in a couple. A handful of quarterbacks for workouts in the success that john had had at the af with something that caught his attention and our attention and when he came out for the workout. You couldn't help. But be impressed with the way handle himself and the physical traits and that he demonstrated and then he's been with us for the last two years all he's done is just Continue to go about his work. The right way. Establish a consistent process in rhythm and I think that's earned the respect of his teammates. Watching the way that he's performed on the practice field Going back to last year. Some of the preseason opportunities and and now It'll be fun to see him. Get a chance. And and some real live game. Action rams head coach sean. Mcvay joins us here on mason in ireland clinton's case ramona shelburne. Espn ten now. You're playing against the cardinals. Obviously column has a different element than a lot of other quarterbacks in the league never mind just on their roster. I was gonna ask you to give away game plan here. But how much does this change things. Just kind of mindset. Wise him definitely being active. I potentially sitting this out but just like and we anticipated that all along He's a great competitor can beat you in a variety of ways We have tremendous respect for for all the different problems that he can present and then you know they've got great players around him and so that's why they're one of the better offenses in this league there. So explosive they're dynamic. They can beat you in a variety of ways and You know our defensive is is excited about the challenge in. We've got a similar to. John gonna have a great week of prep. Continue to put the game plan in by the situations that we activate as the week moves forward and It's going to be very challenge and what's going on with running backs right now. I know you you're a little. Get some injuries with cam. Darrell henderson who's available. And how much can they give you. We'll see you know. All anderson is definitely going to be out He's gonna need surgery for the ankle. Injury you know we've got you know. Malcolm brown has done a really nice job. Performing variety of roles this year of your jones and ray clay or younger players for us and then cam akers You know he's making great progress. I mean this guy is really cup. He's come on really strong towards the latter after the year. Obviously we miss him in a big way against the seahawks but you know for him to even finish out the game against the jets the way that he did make the plays that he made was really impressive and You know we'll see if we get him back this week as well coach. So oh really. That's good that's good. You got me a little excited. Their coach there's a chance with cam. Akers okay chance sean. Mcvay joins us here in ireland. Espn radio i want to ask you more generally and football though you know obviously you coach one team but your division has been one of the more intriguing ones in the league all year. You know like. I saw graphic yesterday on twitter in terms of the teams that beat each other and this sort of cyclical thing. Can you talk about what this has been like being a part of this division which has been pretty cut throat all season considering where you are right now in your season. Yeah no. I think it's a reflection of really the competitiveness and the nfl in general. But you know when you've got Four teams that That all provide a lot of different things in challenges in all three phases and great players. And and there's really good coaches at that that You know. I have a lot of respect for it. It makes it You know it's what's so great about the nfl it's also what's so challenging and so You know it. It makes it difficult but You know for us right now. Our focus and concentration is seen if we can get our tenth win against the cardinals and try to punch kick it in the playoffs coach. How do you. How do you evaluate jared. Goff's year you know in just his progress in his ups and downs this season..

"I think that matters in reason why that's a necessary conversation in the gulf context that it's entirely possible that like people were expecting situation. Where golf might not be playing. You know or someone to come in. And i don't. That's not like. I'm not offended as what would be a rams fan. If for whatever reason this happened with somebody else you know what i'm saying like i don't think anybody has to look at this per se as any type of referendum on gough is if the team is successful without him but that's really hard not to do when a quarterback so inconsistent and so let's just say they offer comes in and has a great game and let's just say they go to the playoffs and they win one game like all of a sudden maybe that becomes a successful season but you're also introducing a question as to well. What do we do about golf issue. One hundred bucks and some other guy came in one a playoff games like. That's my concern as rams vein is what are you actually rooting for here. Short of a super bowl winning run. It's kind of question to answer. And i don't know that as much as we might fill airspace and talk about it on this station and across the country like i don't necessarily know that that's something that is really been thought about if that should occur like if gough is extensively not just theoretically not the best option based on what's happened on the field. They got an issue and i. It's one of those. Let's say wolfer comes in. He's great and then comes back. These ready for the playoffs. I got i think you gotta dance with jared goff. I think you guys your number one. Pick the guy you've signed. He's earned that. I know he's had a couple of bad games. But you give them that you give them the chance. But we'll get there first right and so to me when when sean mcvay calls in when we get a chance to talk to him i wanna know everything. There isn't oh by. John wolford why they picked him in the first place while they liked him why they felt like he was the guy roll with as a backup what they expect from this week. What they think he can do. You know because we haven't seen it. They didn't go and get him in a blowout game right at the end of games they didn't necessarily shows and all that much feet where we have literally blank slate. Which is sometimes as good. The defense has prepared for that too so know. I'm picturing kingsbury scouting alliance football games right now. Oh okay because my mum game right. I mean that's what he's watching trying to scout this and there is an element of surprise. That the rams have with wolford it but this is an nfl football game. You know a couple of weeks ago. We tried to you know. Try to make arguments. I watched around the horn that day. When the broncos had quarterback right and then they had the kid who played in call who played college maybe put him in there and we were like oh maybe he could pull it off. Maybe it'll be all right. No it was a disaster. It was embarrassing for the. Nfl entered the league for the you know. I think play quarterback in the nfl's really hard. That's just something that you cannot ignore. So i wish wolford luck. I hope it works out for the rams because they've had a good season and they have a great defense. That could i mean. I don't care who they play. That's gonna keeping a game. Yeah that's very true. And listen rams fans. I'm not some sky's falling type of person. I am in identify the obstacles while still moving so do not have to stop and jump over them and break stride. And the reason why. I'm pointing this out. In terms of the for lack of letters from chess moves surrounding. Who's wear when is because look at a team like the bears looking at team like the eagles. The bears a decent playoff run with a guy ends up getting replaced. And you don't know what to do. You know arab isky trubisky and then the eagles are obviously the number one example. They got rid of foles but then they draft guy and now they're in a quarterback situation that they don't know what's going to happen because a guy who did not win the super bowl is acting like he's the de facto leader of the team reality. He's not you know. And i'm not saying the gulf doesn't deserve that. That's not how i feel at all about this. I'm just saying that like when you're when you're talking about changing quarterbacks at any point in the season particularly late never mind the playoffs for any reason. Then you simply have a change in leadership and thus the sort of chain of command psychologically absolutely gets altered and that's a question i think good teams figure out how to answer even if they don't have one already set up and that to me is a huge huge hurdle that they're going to have to figure out. Should this team win games. By the way mcveigh's gonna join us in the next segment so head coach. The rams but what do you think about that. I mean like. I'm not as even concerned about this season as i am about. Perhaps next memo. Yeah i mean look we we're going to have to judge jared goff based on the totality of his career. Not just like the last two games. And i think that's got is what you know. You have to look at the look at. Why did he make those plays. What are the issues. Do you think that he can correct them. You know there's there's a part of me that. I think this comes down to whether you think people can change. Can they grow. Can they grow out of it. there certain habits think successful people have that they can get better at like you know i. I have a problem with tardiness. It's something that is hard wired into me just kinda like need to work on it I tend to cut things close. And it's something that professionally. I've totally had to work on. Because it's really embarrassing when you're like late for the show or by like a minute or two you know like on the inside your partner is waiting for you and the greg bergman is are you are you gonna make it and i'm like.

"I'm gonna prepare to mac and cheese. I'm going to. I'm going to. I'm trying to decide how i wanna do. The sweet potatoes. Because if i if i peel them slice them do it like i wanna do it. Some people may not want the all the sugar and all the different cinnamon and all the different stuff that i have to put into it. You bake the whole potato have am make a a serb to go on top of the sweet potato splitting hey bake it taking drizzle whatever. They can trigger on it or not. I really don't meet personally. I don't want all the candy on it. So that's kinda why. I'm thinking of doing it that way But there will be sweet potatoes. they'll be Be green beans. They'll be broccoli and cauliflower mixed roasted bell peppers They'll be Onions roasted they'll be mac and cheese. Obviously there'll be a pekinese with hot water. Cornbread and rice hot water. Bread is a. I don't know if you guys have ever had al. But it's a it's corn meal. And i'm gonna use white. Cornmeal sounded like yellow It's so it's it's white cornmeal it's Sugar outcrops baking powder in there. Oh and You know. Drop some boiling hot water and what you do. Is you stirred up you. mix it in. You turned into like a little patty in you in oh really really crispy in golden on the outside in the inside is moist with cornmeal. That sounds like sounds like battling picky. Good thou- deal and so have that. I'll have cabbage because i can't make greens to save my life only my sister and my mother greens or like the i can't i just can't do kim. My mom in twenty eleven and she didn't teach me how to do it the right way. 'cause either crunchy in heart or their soggy and kroth. I can't get it the right way. So i'm just going to go with the cabbage because i really can get out with the cabbage. Already said the mac and cheese do the vegan mac and cheese for the family hot water. Cornbread does he can. Cornbread For dessert my daughter right now is making vegan cookies. And then i'm going to make a Some sort of ice cream. i haven't decided from panella or stash. Eeo and then what. I'll do with the ice cream. Oh man pistachios for old people man. Get yourself your. I like but put george that the fascia ice cream in-between the penalties. It's in cellophane wrap dropped into the deep. Freezer for about twenty. Four hours is ridiculous. Cut alamo the apple pie alamo. I'll have the sweet potato pie in. And i'll probably have pineapple upside down cake. I'll also from a meat selection. I'll go turkey lord. There's a lot of food here. How many into this thing. Only about ten of us if yes ten. I'll go turkey. I also have The ham that i have to make the concoction with the with the dijon mustard. The pineapple brown sugar read on their baked the ham and then also trapped in fillets with blue cheese. So i'm going to see some delays tomorrow with blue cheese And that's pretty much it. I don't know if i'm missing anything. But i love it. E- happy thanks. You'll be happy thanksgiving a lot like you said it's a lot of food and then also got several several different tequila and wine to wash it down. Man i love it. Enjoy your customer at the end to all that food like i literally like i'm full and i'm falling asleep because i would eat that in just a crash on the couch. You ain't got to worry about that. You don't have to worry about watching you eat all that. Yeah you don't have to worry about watching raving steeler market to the third game. Hey man what happened in the second quarter. I'll be saying well. I don't know well. They won't be third get locked. It's not it's gonna happen on sunday. Now that's right the council sunday. They moved pittsburgh game true. That is true. Well by the way. Watch your pal. Your pal sean. Mcvay is gonna join us. He's on the line. Listen you want to say anything to genre quicker. No just keep doing what he's doing. This fly sweeps difference brett right option. Different deal keeping jared goff clean and and we'll be okay. Let's go don't want all the screen thinking tunnel drive me crazy. Yes robert woods. Did a good job getting down the field being smart. That tells me he's well coach. He's paying attention in the meetings to get out feel understand that he's got some time on the clock they can go. One of the smartest thing notice is true. I said this earlier on another station. One of the smartest things that he could have ever done with not throw the football to a referee. He laid it down in the rest. Spotted it right there because typically a player will throw the ball. The referee down the field in who everything up yet. He listening and he's well coach. Okay we'll add. Let's bring me let. Let's bring sean real quick. Can you lock them. Both in their steve shot. Sean happy thanksgiving. Thanks for joining us. What do you make of keys analysis there. You know what. I like about g. He had some good points. And you know what. I need. Some people. Tell me what i need to hear. Not what i always want here. I dream in maybe a little screen. Happy the other night but robert woods at the end of the app. Put it down on the hash. Letting waiting for the rest of spotted. That was the difference between getting it clocked in not keys on this cruzi recognizes the sprint. Right option. he's on it with all of it and so you know what for that. I say to shake you my friend. No sean i go in no noted that. Bs stuff for me. That tells me that he's listening in the meetings and your teaching him right when he puts the ball down in doesn't allow the referee. Most guys will take the baugh including myself. I was taking a ball thrown into the referee. The cy judges something silly like that. Robert put it down right there. And i'm like oh yeah he's smart. He got it he got him. No doubt net allowed them to get the three points. But you're doing an amazing job. I swear to you really are man and i. I think you guys are headed in the right direction. I really am i. I applaud you for everything you're doing now. I really appreciate. That means a lot coming from you. We'll see Gotta go keep it rolling this week and and get the niners. Yep yep. I didn't the niners. I'm coming to your house key. Happy thanksgiving man thanks. We'll talk to you soon. Be good happy thanksgiving. All you guys to say all right take care that is keyshawn keyshawn woolen zubin each and every morning here on the station the head coach of your los angeles rams fresh off a victory. "You're also going to accuse him of something no outlet. I thought he was very revealing. More was unshod mcvay like revealing when you were talking about the woes of your kicking game and the honesty that came from greg's departure wasn't something i was prepared for When did you realize that we may be somewhat in trouble with the kicking game over the course of the season and you started reminiscing on our ex. Well honestly i had. I had you know. I had a funny feeling that you don't minimize the importance of that spot. And you almost get spoiled wi with the consistency. That greg operated with soon as we lost them i'd be lying to it. I didn't have major concerns Now to say that you don't have any competence you can find somebody You know that wasn't necessarily the case because once he decided to go to dallas. Then you gotta say what's the next solution but I think you guys have seen what i've seen and and and it's been It's been a real struggle and it's been something that fortunately it has not cost us the game but if we don't get this fixed it could potentially and that's where whether it's awesome mcginnis dramatic gay this week We're looking to see if we can get You know some better opportunities a little bit more consistent in our scoring ops and then you know a big thing to take for granted the hang time the accuracy on some of your kickoffs and how that affects your kick coverage unit as well and You know that that has been something. That's been a struggle and i think you guys have seen that as well as i have and you know that is the truth. Sean one last thing for you before we let you go and thank you for always being so gracious with your time and always willing to you know. Have fun with us and talk nonsense with us. But i have one more football question. Obviously you're playing the bucks this week. You got your start there back in two thousand and eight. Have you had some time to kind of think back like when you're facing them does it make you think back to that time and what it was like kinda getting started like. Do you have any any memories that stick out about like i dunno like we're you're clearly the new kid in school right when you're when you're taking that first job like do you remember anything. Is there anything that sticks out from that first year. That you are part of that franchise. Yeah what sticks out. I knew nothing. I was totally clueless. I came in You know you think you have a clue after you're finished up playing collegiately and you know really i. I was not even really a coach. A glorified secretary. That was trying to help any way that i could run errands for the coaches and I i had a great opportunity to learn from a lotta guys. I really just didn't know much at all. And you're kind of almost just in awe of being a part of an nfl organization and then before you know it you know who's become one of my closest friends in life You know you end up making a change at the coaching spot. Where i was there as a result of my relationship with jon gruden and my man remorse get that job and they end up going a different direction. I'm thinking in. Its first year in coaching getting fired. Right away. I guess you get your feet wet pretty quick. That's hilarious sean. Mcvay ke- coach of your los angeles rams obviously right in the thick of things at six and three fighting for that division as we expected them to. Sean always a pleasure. Man stay healthy. Stay safe and go get a win. We'll talk to you soon. there serve. they'll do it. Always gonna talk to you guys. I mean there. Is sean mcvay with us. I love talking to him like i mean honestly i mean you and i have had this good relationship with him going back to when we were doing the morning show together like i feel like we could literally just talk to him forever. And he's he feels like he's willing to talk to us forever but we can't keep all of his time because he's got to get ready for tampa. But thanks to sean. Of course thanks to artisan the rams for allowing sean on the show. It was appreciated..

"Cheated. You were so you were telling us or you're very exciting. You're like yeah. Just cop to it i gave was not happy with me. It was it was poor judgment on my part. I let my competitive instincts get the best of me and Let's put it this way. I learned my lesson the hard way. Let me just tell you. The game of monopoly is about real estate and everybody. That's a real estate development sheets one way or another you just fitting in which you need to do. I understand that that's all right. Hey you didn't buy four houses on broadway. You only bought three. Which is one on i. Gotcha yeah there. You go rich monopoly piece. Do you gravitate toward who you know what we the one that we have. It's it's not the standard monopoly. It was kind of an express accelerated. Monopoly so i honestly i'm not a really a big piece guy. Probably you know it might have even played a symbol or a top hat. I couldn't tell you. L z just grabbed first teeth. I'm focused on that cash. Not the peace. Yeah listen i am blame. I'm blaming you may get that money. You know what i'm saying like that's what the game is about right like play with what pc pick. Well i mean listen. I'm a top hat guy. Yeah yeah and i will fight you for the top hat yai. Hey i'm on the right track you know. We're in the same marina. There was atop top pat. Yeah i like with boot. Because i like to kick people's acids you know what i'm saying. That's my rule. That's pretty good. That's pretty good. Guys are really putting a lot of thought into these teeth man. We're locked we've got a curfew for home depot. We had nothing else to think about. I mean there's only so much you know. Tiger king is already passed us. I know you were watching that. The way i hurt your into this is us. I didn't know you had that That soft side mcvay. I love it. It gets a little heavy for me. I gotta be honest. I got enough strength at work. I don't know if i can handle this anymore. Watching it at home. I like to be feeling good. So that's exactly what we said. We were like joe. That's a real like hard show to watch. I'm surprised that's the show he took on. It wasn't my pick. Listen i. I'm not afraid to admit i'm not the boss when i'm at home so i really am just a yes man there you know i. It started out good and now we're getting real early in season two and i'm thinking i don't know if i really want to put this exiled on myself anymore. You don't this isn't you. this isn't us. That's what i tell people you know i get we. There's some other things that we can choose. That might make me feel like happen. How to bed the next morning with a little zest for life instead of depressed. I gotta so for you. My friend the queen's gambit. Ooh you know what i so. That's the one that's been recommended. I'm sitting here with artists. He one of our beat writers recommended bad l. d. and he started watching it. He said he got a check it out and so. I'm definitely intrigued that it's something that i'm definitely going to check out. I heard it's awesome. It's really good man. I we kyoto in three nights. And i was like you would think a show about chess. Whitney inherently good and i'm a chess player so i just kind of curious but it's way about so much more than just chess and i think you were really appreciate it if nothing else is a reprieve from klein every day from this is us. You're the second person that said it. And then everybody i've asked about it as been a big double thumbs up on it so i'm definitely going to check that out then so i got one for you because i know that you and i spoke awhile back and you were you. Were getting into game of thrones. Did you ever finished. Game of thrones by the way or no now. I stuck right where i was once. Once that one deal. Where you end up losing all the characters that you like happening i read wedding. Yeah exactly. I said i you know. There's this motion. It is but tim harrington who was in. Game of thrones right. He was the main character. He's not netflix. Show called criminal and it's a series of like police interrogation rooms and they're they're like flipping to like different interrogation rooms. So i don't know if you're a cop show type of guy or if you like those investigation type shows. That's a good one on netflix. To out to check out you know because you know you're always going going going. I like to watch a lot of different things. And i don't have a specific genre. It's kinda whatever mood. You're in but your guys point the This this might be something. Wait till the off season. Or i got enough stress right now. You don't wanna be in a like a team meeting. Just start crying because you think about a character like a lot of stuff you it go look for. Yeah go is. I do have one more football question for you because i thought it is not like you. Two Seattle Seahawks earn Player of the Week honors after dominant Week 1 win

"Maybe, the most impressive team of the day was Seattle. Russell Wilson was thirty one of thirty, five, Oh my God for three, hundred, twenty, two, yards, four touchdowns no picks. That's ridiculous. Thirty one of thirty five metcalf picked up where he left off big day and they destroyed Atlanta and and I think that NFC west is just going to be fascinating all year long Seattle's not going to have a home field advantage. You're not GonNa have that twelfth man thing they got going out there but man, they're they're good and they're a veteran team I I think Seattle. Really is going to be a very difficult to deal with this year that quarterback may be in the prime of his career right now what year nine for him it is e was so special in that game. He was so good. It's just he's. Become. So, much fun to watch play fast the operates and how he's really gotten such a feel for the game. Become what Sean mcvay would call an extension of the offensive coordinator He's in control. It was also game that Matt Ryan threw for four, hundred, fifty they were down I mean, Julio Jones, at Fifty Ridley at one, hundred, thirty gauge to gauge at and fourteen. They, Have Hayden hearst they IRV Smith I think Atlantic could be good. Defense has been a problem for a while which is weird because it's Dan Quinn to think about that. which was Laying the first coordinator when the seahawks became. Great. Exactly.

"Woods and cut tyler higby is in ascending player that played really well towards the latter after the year, and we got some continuity with our two tackles with with Haven Stein, and Whitworth, and then I think Austin is continuing to mature. So we've got leaders in place Johnny Hecker as Punter wouldn't want anybody else in the world you got you know long snapper and Jake mcquaid. So there's a lot of things that we do feel good about, and there's a lot of players that we drafted and some young players that are going to be asked to step up that I think we'll show why we have a lot of confidence them to be able to do so. How difficult was it for you to get young players to rookies in particular obviously activated to what you want to do when you didn't have the normal. Face to face interaction and time to do that. You know it was challenging. But the guys that we drafted especially those young players that you're talking about they're very mature football players smart football just makes sense to them. They love the game they've been easy studies. You don't take for granted any of these reps that are so vital to them at this point but when you look at a lot of these rookies that we are expecting to. Contribute in a big way for us they pick things up fairly quickly and that's been a real positive and we've got a lot of chance. We've got a great opportunity to get more above the neck reps than ever before and really today represented You know our fifth practice if you will third and pads and and these guys are doing a nice job. Sean mcvay Rams, head coach joining us here on sedan and L Z on seventeen ESPN. Sean you know jared has now been with the club several years how much more is expected from Jared Goff this season Yeah I. Mean I think you always expect in the grow George, but I think the thing that we've really emphasizes you've played out a really high level continue to to to make the plays that you understand how to make make good decisions snap and snap out operate the offense and the rest takes care of itself. I mean he's he's so talented but there is an element of don't feel like you have to do too much. Let your teammates help you Let's operate the system in a way that is conducive for you playing out an all pro. Level, which we've seen him do and and and he makes the system. Go you know I think the unfair narrative, all the system quarterback the system is what it is because of his ability and Sometimes it's like, Hey, let's just continue to improve learn from the things that that we can do better than what we've done over the last couple of years. But let's not lose sight of them. The amazing thing that you have done and continue to do that and and and see if we can do it a little bit better than what's been done. Jonathan. Bean was just announced today as new s the. for diversity and inclusion. Was the one the you alight to see Mr Bean address more than anything when it comes to the issues of diversity and inclusion in the NFL. would. He has been the most eye-opening thing for me is that it's about understanding everybody's individual perspective and how their experiences their environments have shaped. The way that they feel about different things I think there is a natural inclination to think there's a one-size-fits-all, but I know for me one of the most beneficial things that these last few months have enabled you to learn that asking questions that maybe Evan ask before gives you some insight so that you can really listen to learn and then be able to implement processes and procedures that are in alignment for being able to accommodate a Lotta people but also understanding that there's so many different. Things that people have strong feelings on it, and how can we really just have that empathy and understanding and really just be able to have that equity amongst everyone. Sean mcvay with this Sean what about speaking of protocols? Right like what about the protocols you're dealing with in regards to the pandemic and Corona virus and how different that has been as an experience overall for you and the players It's been different, but it's something that you just get used to just implemented as part of your everyday rhythm. You know I when I wake up in the morning, I fill out the Kobe questionaire you take your temperature you get your Cova test every single day you're wearing your mass, your socially distance when when you when you can be. and then you're just making sure that your extra you know conscious about washing your hands as much as possible and and and kind of You Know Reggie Scott's done such a great job of implementing sound. Parameters and protocols to really keep our ecosystem right and I think the players have done an excellent job. It's and really it's something that you know you Kinda don't really notice anymore. The mass becomes kind of an extension of you. Just Kinda grab it like you would thrown a hat on. Sean if I can offer a little piece of advice and I don't know of George wants to join in or not don't spend too much money on the food. Don't remember. They don't they don't. But what I would say, here's my piece of advice when it comes to the Food Sean you make sure to remember to eat when you have the party. With you and Veronica because I kept for every time someone wants come say hello to you and congratulate you. You don't get a chance to drink or eat and you need to set aside time for that. That would be my advice e Yeah I. Love that you know I've also got some good advice to make sure you're very agreeable and don't have an opinion on too many things because. It'll be a lot smoother that way. There's no question. Yeah. Yeah. It's not. It's not your day, I? mean. I I am more than happy to take a secondary. Role Veronica definitely take the lead role. I'm very interested when she wants me to be, and then if she feels strongly about it, I, couldn't agree more baby. There you go. There you go before we let you go. I have one question from when I was watching the original episode of hard knocks and I'm curious to see if your investigation has led to anyone being the culprit here but who was pooping in the Porta Potty I wish I could tell you but it was. We. Turn. We have we have taken care of that issue I think we had some rookies those first couple days if I. If I was betting on it I bet it was some of these rookies that we're real nervous those first couple of days. Sean. You're the best brother. Thank you so much for making time for us. We appreciate it stay healthy stay safe and we'll talk to you soon. Now I. Always enjoyed. Coming on L. D. I. Yeah I. It's funny I had a similar situation with him I ran into a medic clipper playoff game. that. First season that he was here and had a very similar experience with him. He's awesome. He's Laura what did you say to me in my ear? You guys got bro Love Yeah now known him for a long time L Z. Together. If. You will all been in la about the same amount of time directly. "We all go through everything in La. But like where are you like? You've been to a super bowl? Three winning seasons two times in the playoffs. Were you a better where you better coach? Now than you were three years I think experiences to now be able to reflect back on continuing to not lose sight of that some of the good stuff, and then making sure that when you've lost or when you make bad decisions, less learn from those opportunities. We say it all the time. REPETITION is the mother of learning. If you're able to take it for the right things and I think these experiences, these reps that have accumulated over the last three years, the people that have been around have enabled me to grow, and there's no doubt that I feel better than ever, and I think this time and and I have talked about this and separate conversations Albert. But if you said what's the positive of all this? This craziness going on your more still than you've ever been. And I think that gives you an opportunity to really self, reflect and I think in order for you to be able to true. There's got be a self awareness self control that goes hand in hand and I'm hopeful that as we apply those things moving forward, it makes you a better leader, a better man in ultimately a better coach for all these guys. How much is last year, not you. I know it does right. I know how positive person you are. I know I know how you felt about the way last year and did and everything else like, and then you get thrown into this like just bizarre just a different year like I guess it's way to put it right in so many ways just a different year now. How much does last year still sit with you like? How much do you want to let it? Sit with you and? How has it affected the way that you guys are doing business now? Yeah. I think it's motivating. You know I I. Love It, I. Think it gives you a good positive motivation where we're never gonNA run away from the fact that we didn't live up to the expectations I, didn't do a good enough job, but shoot as a competitor. That's what drives you. I love it I can't wait for the opportunity to compete again, said connect back with our players to get out on that football field to apply the things that you feel like you've learned to get around some of these new coaches who I'm telling you and I've. I've told you this Albert these some. We got some studs that we added on our coaching staff this off season. That I think will really be very helpful in our players playing at a higher level, the command at UC from brand staley Kevin O'CONNELL. Hamas Brown is a rising star in this league. Who's going to be running back? Coach Jon. Bon Amigos got great Mansa we got some guys that I'm really excited. And then we got a whole lot of good coaches that have been here and You know it it. It doesn't know actually it motivates in a good way where it's like if you're not a competitor. If, you are a competitor. How does that not drive you nuts? And so is like killing you that you can't that. You have been out there yet. You haven't been able to have the guys out in the grass. It does because you realize how much you thrive on the interpersonal connections when you're present with guys I mean I'm sure. How exhausted are you from four hours? Zoom 'cause. You're yelling into computers. You know there's nothing like being in person. The energy that you have given out on the field. You know like we talked about this earlier he said I will. Would you want to get into Scouting or coaching? I would want to do that because what I love so much about. Coaching are the interactions with the players now I love football on giving wrong, but he said what's the best part about it? It's the relationships. It's the interactions with the players with the coaches that were really absent from right now, and that's where I just can't wait until we can report and hopefully get back to some sense of normalcy. If we're able to get this thing off man, it'll be great. Nobody'll be happier than need to be able to do it. Last thing then were Sean McVeigh Ten or fifteen years. Who has been? Hopefully still with the rams unless I've got myself, so worked up, that added. That wasn't feeling good enough to still coach. Do you worry about that at all? Because I've heard people around, you say that the only thing we worry about with Sean is that he could burn himself out, or is that on your radar? Absolutely, it is because you know who I've gotten. Have a great relationship with our debt has been awesome mentor to me as Dick for meal. And he's gone through. An can really share some insights where they were very similarly wired, even look at coach wall stocks about how he wished she had coach longer, but the burn out and and I think the biggest thing is making sure that you take care yourself. You get your rest understanding that working hard and working smart bill hand in hand. You know it's not a cop out to say sometimes you know the the working smart and efficient doesn't mean you have to work all these hours because you're able to more efficiently. Knock out that same amount of work by getting your rest. Rest you're able to be more patient? You have a better demeanor, so those are things that absolutely say I need to do a better job of managing that and I think this off. Season has given me a good framework for what I think can be applied now hopefully when we talk six weeks of the season I'm saying you know what I'm staying. System would that and that's something that I do need to be aware because if you're not careful I, just know the way that I'm going at it. You're like realistically. This isn't the right way to do it, but you're such. Such a your mind's always yeah, such grinder. I think it's kind of being able to step back. Be Instill like I keep saying is going to be a key thing and I am confident. That will be able to achieve a better balance will will lead to more sustainability moving forward. Mo-. Yeah, it's always like if something is like left undone. It just kind of gnaws at you, and you can't like you know what I mean like just like. There's something that you feel like you've got left to do. It's hard to be still and just leave that there for the time being. Being and not do it no doubt and and the other thing, too is what I've really seen from a lot of my close friends and know once you get to that point where you're going to get married next year. I obviously want to be able to have kids that perspective of right now. You got a real reason to live when you got a family Jim got something else. I think that balance and that understanding and appreciation for those things where it's not just all football will will help kind of towards a goal of just being able to sustain an NBA healthier overall. All right well Sean I. Feel like I had a gone. I could go for five or six hours talking about this shit with. That Sean mcvay the head coach of the rams. Really appreciate you coming out Sean I. Always enjoy appreciated Albert..

"I think he'll do a nice job for them. So Shaun what's the planet running back for you guys? I think They're under the guy that we really like Had he had some injuries and some reasons that he didn't get a chance and then obviously having todd restricted Some of the opportunities that that he got last year so we're excited about him. Malcolm Brown is a guy that's always taking advantage of his chances in any shown that he can really play on all three down. And it's it. This is a deep draft class at the running back spot and we feel like the value. Is there for where some of our picture and if certain players are still on the board I think you can Potentially see US address that spot but It's like anything else once we get out and start practice in Whenever that time comes you know you get? Did you get the chance to evaluate it but there are two backs on our roster we feel good about and then We'll see if we end up bad one on the draft a couple more questions with Sean mcvay. Rams head coach with us here on seven ten. Espn you mentioned when we get practicing. Do you know about what's on what's off right now. As far as the off season program is concerned camps and things of that nature. I think the first thing that we're really working through right now is How do we get through? What's this specific of the draft? And then what type of communication will the league allow and enable from a virtual meetings? Whatever that might be. That's really kind of a next step in our process of probably what most likely it's going to be the off season where it'll be restricted to. Just you know the communication that you can have on some of these You know on some of the technology that you can virtually communicate and be able to you know face on and do all that stuff. So that's what I think. Probably the next step is As far as exactly. What's after that you know I? It seems like it's ever changing by the day especially as we get new information on on what the spread looks like hopefully trying to be a part of the solution of the downward trend and getting that curb going in the downward direction that we all want but You'd go crazy you know trying to think about all the different scenarios I think like anything else you just take one day at a time and And that's what we're doing but but it's really the draft and then how we virtually meet with guys probably the next step George showing. What can you tell us about some of the new additions to your coaching staff. Very excited about these guys When you look at Our defensive coordinator Brandon Staley Easy he's been around Vic Fangio. Who's the guy that I hold in high regard? Anybody that you talk to Just speak the world of him sharp. He's motivated. He's a great communicator. He's got a great command and a high capacity for football You know he he's. He's been really good. I've I've really enjoyed working with him. Really enjoyed observing the collaboration between our current coaching staff. That's been in place on defense and where they'll go with that John. Bonham may go as special teams coordinator as a great track record. He's been the head coach at the collegiate level when an attack. You know a Mac Championship and He's he's a special guy that he's done a great job leading teams units You know for handful of years. I think he'll bring up great veteran presence. You're special teams. And then on offense you know being able that Kevin O'CONNELL a guy that was in Washington I know Jay Gruden's been instrumental on and a lot of my development as a coach and he speaks the world of him. You get around him Rates a Man. Great ownership of the quarterback position. I think he and jared. We'll do a great job of working together and I think you'll see that relationship the instrumental and and some of the success that we'll have offensively but then for Jerry to to play consistently like we know he's capable of and then I think Got A new running back coach and Thomas Brown who study He played professionally. Was the back at Georgia He's coached some of the best back at the collegiate level. Really help them develop and I'm really impressed with him. I think he's GonNa do an excellent job leading that run back room so those four guys have really been outstanding additions to our coaching staff. That I couldn't feel better about and I think they're gonna be all great Great help to To the success that we hope that next year SEAN. One More for Euro quick. How much pressure is there to be more creative on you in the staff this season because look you still have an amazing amount of talent but maybe not the the name brand talent that you've had in the past whatever short you know. You've got to adjust and adapt involve and That's kind of what I was talking about. You know with the with the experience that you have and it's really just continuing to never let the complacency set in a really learn your players you can figure out the best way to activate their skill sets and You know I'm really excited whenever that opportunity will come to to be able to do that and and in really collaborate with our coaching staff and and Certainly somewhere excited about what we're looking forward to seeing you guys on hard knocks whenever that gets going and You know we'll see all the all the fun stuff maybe a tiger king update their during hard knocks. Sean stay safe stay healthy. Thank you so much for making time for us. Man appreciate it as always always appreciate it. Thanks George you gotta take care of their ears Sean. "They are Georgia. I appreciate that man. That's Crazy Times right now. But but fortunately everybody's in good shape on our end. That's good to hear good to hear. So what the heck have you been doing sean? Good quick. I've I've been able to probably get be in better health and take better care of myself than ever so I've worked out Getting a little bit more red studying guys for the draft and then continuing to become an expert on these zoom or Microsoft Teams Meetings with our coaching staff As we're kind of just going through what normal off-season would would entail and so Trying to keep a normal rhythm in a routine like you would as if you're at the office and And that's kind of what we've done and then I've been able to watch up a little bit more. Tv than normal as well. That's funny because the last time you and I spoke last season you know I asked you at the end of the year. Like what's something you'd like to do better and you said that you'd like to kind of find the opportunity to be better to yourself whether that was getting in better shape or just being. I guess being able to get away from football even if it's just a little bit so I'm glad to hear that case. What are you? Watch IT ON TV. You know At at my Fiance Cup finally got me watch a little. Bit of game of thrones We've started out Ozark So so that's kind of what we're watching right now but You know it's You know I got admit I did see the tiger king. I can't believe I watched it but I did so. That's what we've been doing but I've been. I've been achieving better balance like we've talked about before George so that's a good thing In spite of all the unfortunate things that are going on in our roles yeah no question and look I just think that right now and clearly. We're like you mentioned. We're in an unprecedented time. And we want everyone to get through this and I think we all will get through it together but I think that personally and individually. It's about finding that balance and honestly getting some sort of schedule or routine like the radio show allows me to do that and then. I've got the kids to deal with and whatnot. My wife and I take turns on that stuff like I think. Finding whatever the routine you can get into you know working out or whatever allows you to kind of stay sane in times like this. I couldn't agree more. Yeah that that's exactly the same page. I'm on you know it's really you talk about developing a routine teams really establishing your process. And you're Kinda daily rhythm and You know fortunately that the space that we have and Being in an area where you know there's nice weather and you can still go outside and your backyard a little bit. you know has been Has Been Good to just kinda take advantage of the time. That will probably never get again and so trying to make the most of what this is. What the situation really is. I got a couple of quick questions before we get to the football stuff all right. Since you mentioned game of thrones how blown away are you by. Some of the storylines starts a little slow but clearly rams up towards the end of season one. So where are you right? Now on. Game of thrones season three so I can kill off all the good all the people that you ended up really liking having the end up hurting well. She's one they're chopping my man. Ed starts head off out Drago dies. I'm like Holy Hitch. Man These guys. These writers they have no remorse for killing off the good characters. Yeah man that like I said it after about episode nine season one. Where ned start dies it just goes from there. It is non stop at that point. Listen it only gets better from season three on if you're only in season three you've got a long way to go with some good stuff so make sure you enjoy that or yeah and tiger. Can't look I haven't gone there yet. I can. You sell me on Tiger King or should you not sell me on Tiger King here? Here's what I would say it's It's one of those deals that you start watching it and you're like I can't believe I'm watching it. I can't believe it. I cannot believe I just watched seven episodes in this thing. You know it's It's so crazy that you just you know the the stuff that goes on you know and I think a lot of this stuff goes on in our country. Where there's you know these types of animals and they've got these basically zoos that these people are running it. It's a pretty wild deal and then you look at some of the The the rivalries. Or You know. Ill will that that comes about it. It's it's crazy it's I I taught for me to recommend it but I couldn't stop watching it once I started like the most It was the most fun you Never WanNa have again. I hear Sean mcvay. Rams head coach with the here one last one before we get to the football stuff. Today's National Beer Day and look. I think that I'm like you. I have found myself more and a workout regimen but occasionally I do like to Dabble in an adult beverage. I am not a huge beer guy. I do live my guys at the dudes brew here in Southern California but I'm more of a wine guy and then on special nights. I'll do the little more a little harder stuff. Where IS SEAN MCVEIGH? On the different areas of adult beverages. Yeah so We get also been partaking in a little bit more adult beverage Consumption than normal. I've gotten You know we've got a bunch of different wine in my fiance got it signed up for wine club so I like the Blanda cab penal. I'm I'm pretty Pretty but love wine And then if I'm drinking art stuff I'll I'm not really like oh I have to drink this. I'll I'll I'll try to process but typically you said if you're drinking alcohol what do you have and I'll have a vodka and soda something like that. You pretty pretty simple. Yeah I'm with you I am. I'm a wine guy first and then I'll I like beer like if I'm outdoors right like if I'm at a barbecue or at a baseball game or something like that and then hard liquor when the night deserves it. It's not something I go to very often but I'm a simple guy. GimMe anything on the rocks. And I'm good. Yeah we're exactly on the same page there George so You know a flexible and versatile. That's that's That's what we can do all right speaking of flexible flexible and versatile You mentioned being a little more savvy when it comes to technology and zoom Will you be using zoom from your house? Like how is the draft going to work with you? Where will you be drafting from? Yeah I mean we're still the league. The League sent out a memo yesterday. George that will do it. All from our from our homes virtually dots and everybody will be in separate locations. So the specifics of of how we get that worked out with our it and Last and Kevin Demo and Tony Pass stores. You know. We're we're kind of putting our heads together. And what's the most efficient way of doing that? with the communication that that sometimes occurs between teams. And then obviously when you're sending your picks in so this is Definitely unprecedented times. But I think we're we're we're ready to adjust and adapt and we're kind of working through that plan right now a lot of change. Obviously this off season for you guys. How involved are you now in the decision making process when it comes to that stuff sean? Oh yeah now it's been it's been really good I think. Aki Continue to accumulate experience. George You have a better field for a lot of the things that You know you can be firm and your opinions on I one of the things. I've always appreciated you know since the first you know since they wanted. I got here There's been great collaboration amongst myself. Less Endemol We a have a very similar vision. there's things that you know. I I think back to just three years of experience that I've had in this role and You're always you're always trying to learn and grow and learn from some of the things that maybe you would do differently and not lucite at some of the things that have that have helped us You know have a certain level of success so it's always a good collaboration but I think you get a little bit more. Ownership as you accumulate that experience and that's one of the things that Really appreciate it. You know being able to reflect back onto the three years that I've had here Sean. Mcvay Rams head coach this year on the Sodano show on. Espn where would you say was the biggest area of growth for you as you look back at? Your three years as far as coaching is concerned. Well you know it. It's hard to say. I think you're always just trying to learn and self evaluate Continue to surround yourself with with really good people so that you can learn from them You know and it's always about connecting Georgia. They just connecting with the players. The coaches You know just not losing sight at some of the foundational things that have helped and I think in some instances you get so busy get caught up in different things and You can lose sight of the foundational principles that you want to really operate by you. Know off day in and day out and You know that's where I think I can continue to get better. But it's also just accumulating experience. You know we'd say it all the time with our players. Repetition is the mother of learning and as you cumulate it. You're able to be self reflective and and try to make sure you're always getting better you're not afraid of You know taking some criticism learn from your mistakes. I think that's where growth can occur. And and that's what we want to try to achieve and and I'm no different than anybody else. Speaking of growth. As far as Jared Goff is concerned where's his maturation process? And what's the next step for him? Yeah I think what I was really pleased with jared You know just looking at especially at last year Georgia. We had some adversity. We had some Stretches where we didn't play as well as respect expect to on offense and I was really pleased with the way that he finished up the season. We played some good defense down the stretch. He goes the SAMPHRAN and put three plus on the board. At that point I think New Orleans was the only other team that had done that Played well against Seattle on Sunday night. Had to really good games against Arizona so I was really pleased with the way that he finished the season with able to lead his teammates. When we did have a little bit more change especially upfront than would The first couple years together at entail and so I think it's just continuing to be consistent with the decision making The accuracy the anticipation. When you're throwing the football and and just the overall command the quarterback position has so many nuances to it and Like anything else man. You just learn from your reps you keep getting better and keep become an extension of coaching staff and up and then just being himself. He's got a natural way of leading so Like anything it's just about maturing and using the experience to continue to grow how tough Sean was the decision on girly for you. It's tough it. You Know Up George. Because you know there's there's a personal deal and especially at these times when you're so restricted with your interpersonal interactions. That can occur. You know not reflect back on as you know. We've I've kind of mentioned earlier in the conversation. We look at the three years that you've been here and you go back. East are watching the film or you think about the the memories and This guy's been arguably as important as anybody for success. I mean you're talking about a guy to first team all pros offensive player of the year. Where you know if you don't sit him he's probably legitimately the MVP in the Seventeenth. And he was you know his production through you know off the charts in eighteen and Shoes part of what we've been able to do on what's been fortunate for some of the success that we've been able to have it revolves around todd and so to say those decisions are easy. They're not difficult. Of course they're difficult and then there's also a human element that sometimes we can. We can tend to forget because it is such a a game that we'd love and you don't think about those you know parts of it that make it really difficult but I'm forever indebted to that Guy We have a lot of great memories and I wish nothing but the best in Atlanta..

Bengals at the Combine in Indianapolis, taking a closer look at Joe Burrow

"With us here from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where we will be all week so much going on. I'm waiting next with Adam. Schefter Louis Riddick Todd mcshay and Mike Tannenbaum just to catch you up right now. Here's what's happening today in Indianapolis. It will be a very busy week. At Five o'clock eastern though owners are expected to meet players to talk about the new CBA which could expand the playoffs and move to a seventeen game regular season. We've got forty seven. Nfl head coaches and GMT. We'll be talking today. You're also hear from SEC. Standouts Joe Borough and to a ton of Aloha who also addressed the media earlier today. Jonesboro put on an absolute show as you know on route to a national championship for Lsu setting an FBI. Single season record with sixty touchdown passes and Ditto. While completing a whopping seventy six percents of his passes and not only that but bro won the heisman trophy in dominant fashion receiving a record ninety point seven percent of the first place votes here. Our previous comments from Joe Borough on February seventeenth during a reception. For the Davey. O'brien award. He had this to say I do have leveraged the Bengals have their process and I have my process. We haven't even gotten to the combine yet. There's a lot of things that happened. Leading up to the draft. A lot of information gathered bras. Mother Robin shot down the idea. Her son does not want to play for the bengals. Saying we have no idea where that came from. It's a story out there that has created that doesn't have any substance at least from our perspective here Hasbro earlier today here at the combine. Of course I want to be the first pick. That's that's every kid's dream you know I've worked really really hard for this opportunity and I'm blessed to be in this position. I'm a ball player. Whoever picks me on my go show up? How play whoever for forever dressing? You know. I'm just not going to be presumptuous. About what they WANNA DO I. It's the draft. You guys have been covered it for a long time and you never know what's going to happen so we played a month longer than everyone else and everyone else's been training a month longer than us you know. I wanted to put. I don't I didn't think I'd be able to put my best foot forward here at the combine so I wanted to wait till pro day had another whole month of training and just be the best that I could be when everyone when. Everyone's eyes are on me. You know coming in. If you're the number one pick the teen is picking number one. Is there for a reason? So you're going to have to come in. There's going to be ups and downs and you've got to stay steady through the process. Our research tells us about Joe. Borough is his own man. He's not going to be talked into saying things for other people's benefits so if that's what he said. That's that's fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting to know him getting to meet him through. The process haven't been able to sit down with them yet. But we've got that on the horizon. We'll talk more about Joe. Boroughs plans to hold off throwing here at the combine. But might I'll start with you in terms of do you want? Do you not want to play for the being. You have any issues at all with where we landed at least at this point. No I mean as I said last week Joe Borough at the end he does not have leverage. The bengals have the first pick in the draft. If they want to draft. Joe Joe Borough. That's where he's GonNa go now with that. Said I think it's incumbent upon sack Taylor in the Bengal organization to create the Right Environment. Where he could come in and they could build something sustainable and truly transformative so. I think where we wended. Wendy is appropriate last week. He could've handled that better but to Joe Boroughs credit. I think they tweak things I think they're in a good spot now. He's been well-coached past week. Tower doesn't it. Yeah and Adema to your Do All your contacts. It appears that borough likely young he's projected pick. I still think that's where the bengals ultimately go. And they're sitting there and that's about this a team that needs somebody to revitalize that franchise and they are expected to look to trade Andy Dalton at some point this off season and so when you're sitting there in division with Lamar Jackson there in Baltimore think that they know that they have to get somebody in there. That's going to put some points on the Board Baker Mayfield Cleveland and this is going to be the pick for the Cincinnati bengals. Even Joe was considering trying to exercise some kind of leverage really the only leverage you have is withhold your services and not playing not report even if he was thinking along those lines. Let's say he's doing a deep dive trying to figure out exactly. Just what the Cincinnati offer as far as developing me as a quarterback. Could you blame him? Could you really blame him for wanting to dig? Deep on exactly what? What does the future going to look like during over the course of my rookie contract with this football team would exactly? What exactly is Mike Brown's commitment to go ahead and building out this roster around me because we all know a lot of what's going to happen to him has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with everything that's going to be around him. Just look at the past three or four drafts. And how certain players have benefited from going to certain to certain teams? Just look at l a look at the difference between jar rookie year in his second year. Sean mcvay came in. It flipped his rookie year. People were saying Jared Goff to Canada. All of a sudden his second year is like. Oh wait a minute. Maybe he's not so bad you couldn't blame him. If that was a thought Lewis to that point I also think an opportunity. If you're Zach Taylor to say hey what's happened in the past. It's irrelevant we're going to myself with you and we're going to build something great and we can't worry about what's happened before we have a lot of work to do. But if I'm the bengals if I have a hey coach Taylor. That's worked with quarterbacks. Like you mentioned Jared Goff Joe Boroughs Billy and character. That's a great opportunity for the bengals. Sino three things one. Is that if something were to go on with. The bengals is not going to happen in public and this has been addressed in the past week if it's going to happen behind the scenes so whatever we hear from this point on. Don't even don't even look at it. Don't think about it because it has nothing to do with with what is going on behind the scenes. The second thing is this guy's different cab he beats. It goes a Beatles drummer. He doesn't care what anyone else has done. In the past what everyone else is GonNa do in the future? He's going to do what's best for Joe Borough but the third thing I know about him is he's a football guy he's his. His brothers played linebacker at safety at Nebraska. His Dad's a almost four decades coach in football. He's a football guy at its core. He's from Ohio. Obviously I think when it's all said and done he winds up going in Cincinnati if he's number one overall pick but again. If it's GonNa Happen it's GonNa Happen. Not In the media. It's GonNa happen behind the scenes again. Joe Bro not expected to throw on Thursday. He said he just wasn't ready yet. Not a huge deal. Sam Darnold Kyla Murray. The last two years have opted not to throw here at the combine as well. What did make headlines on Sunday? Oddly enough pros hand measurements the measurable quarterbacks took place on Sunday on the smaller side. Love listen here's what he said after it was suggested his aunt size was small considering retirement after. I was informed that we slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts while he's got good company because here's what Super Bowl fifty four. Mvp Patrick Mahomes had to say who had just slightly larger hands than did borough my small Andrew doing great so far all right he should say believe in yet. Here's borough earlier today addressing his hands. Yeah I mean these measurements you can. You can take so much from them if it's a glaring issue on film with turnovers. Yeah it's probably an issue but I didn't have a lot of fumbles or anything like that so I just tried to make a little joke out of it I think it's a non factor I don't get paid to talk about. Measurements and analyze. The measurements like played to play football. So that's what I'm GONNA do. I look we're not gonNA make too much of this question. Well yet about what? They actually do what they're actually measuring here so worry not. We've got a ruler. We've got Louis at. I mean really what you're really trying to do is just trying to measure the expense of someone and they put it down on the ground and you actually hear about guys actually doing hand exercises to stretch their hand as wide as possible although when you're grabbing a football you're actually going to measure from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the Pinky here and this is hard because this is a hard rule and you can't really get good accurate measuring you look tired type by just under nine right. Look I'll give you a non center's Oh that's attention and would have actually done something with my. I mean what's interesting when you watch the tape of Joe Borough? There are situations where people come from behind strip him when he's trying to move up in the pocket and run. I mean that's going to happen if you have nine if you have ten inches so I mean it's not a glaring obvious problem as far as him on the football field and that's why I think it's really. It's just going to be something that will hopefully wind up forgetting about certain the biggest thing is and you know this with all of these drills you know as well. Mike you go back to the tape and you're trying to find something after the fact that says okay. Now I'm going to look specifically at these things so you're gonNA look cold weather rain and then ball security and Joe Boroughs as good as any college quarterback you're ever going to see in the pocket in terms of two hands on the ball and protecting the ball. I saw him in two thousand eighteen the last weekend. In September against Ole Miss. You can go back and watch the tape. My suit was soaking wet when I did the open of that game. It was pouring rain driving rain in anyone who says it doesn't rain in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night is lying to you. Because it poured and he completed seventy two percent of his throws with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that game. So you go back to the tape and you try to look at these things and what the tape tells you is. He's just fine. You know I had a theory here. I have an interesting experience with hand size so I was forced out in two thousand eight. We were we trade for Brett Farve and just as a fan of sport. I can't wait to go out to the first practice and watch Brett farve throw. There's nothing physically imposing about breath and he goes out there and he's throwing Abe I've ever seen and I ask them like what is the value. Where's this philosophy comes from it? He said you know what Mike I have long fingers and I actually couple of football the way a lot of people throw a softball. I could actually be over the top and that's where I get all my philosophy from just watching my practice. It was unbelievable to watch though. I know as Lewis show. There's a tradition of how we measure hands but finger. Length is actually an underrated aspect of playing quarterback so far so far small hands but long fingers and you know what my pinky and all the time strong throwing football pictures of the five. It's easily the least important finger in the hand and I can't remember it ever being a big factor. It's all there in the grip. The pinky to me doesn't matter. It's archaic. How we're measuring the quarterback's hand span now with that. Said there's thirty four quarterbacks in the last fourteen years who have been drafted that have had hands of nine inches and smaller and really only two of them had any sort of Sustained Success Ryan. Tannehill is one of them and Jared. Goff is the other. That's it so there are thirty two out of thirty four. Who have failed. But are we going to say that he's going to the Joe Boroughs? Not GonNa have success because his hands tells me that the reason for their failure wasn't because they were nine inches weight.

Saturday’s NFL schedule is an unexpected delight: Three games with high stakes

"And we had some great games yesterday we had Texans defeating the Bucks wrapping up another A. F. C. south champs there for for five seasons they've done that we ended up having the rails be eliminated by Jimmy garage below Robbie gold late into that ballgame is the forty Niners looking for that number one seed but it was all about the New England Patriots once again and of course they win the AFC east for the eighty seventh consecutive year and bill Belichick was asked about you know where that ASC east hat how do you like the fit of the hat the current lower Nyssa can you imagine it sounds like or how should show press good right yep yep yep sounds good me we can get it done with all its music and I played with Brett Farr is that's that's fair is there a worst give me because who buys that I mean you know you're always looking for a last second Christmas gifts I mean does anyone actually own an A. F. C. east champs T. series in fairness you're offered up a banner that they participated in AFC championship so there are two New England is not gonna be one of those programs that is excited about a hat from an AFC east championship that I think you just said eighty seven straight yeah they're not but but you don't think of the Browns won their division that those hats would go flying off the shelves I I guess right again it's it's expectation level on where you've been and I was in baton Rouge earlier this week and I looked at it and it had give the semi final game tee shirts as you know against Oklahoma there like a get ready for the peach bowl this could be great Mike that's got to be a tough sell as far as merchandise did you want to say that you went there yeah you want to take it that you went to the game yes but it's not the end all be all for Ellis shoots to win a national championship in is to have the national championship cert against probably either I think the Clemson Tigers at Ohio state if they're able defeat defeat Oklahoma but for the patriots it's incredible that they continue to do it and I think I go back and look at Sean McVay tell sure and what happened I thought this was interesting his quote about not going to the Super Bowl would ready to attack the Aussies it is tough because you care so much about these players the work that they put in and you want to do your part to try to you know see yourself you know have see those guys have that success and get an opportunity compete for World Championship we're not gonna do that but I do trust that were made of the right stuff I know that once we get through next week I can't wait to attack the off season figure out how I can be better for this football team as we move forward and I think the scars are gonna make us better it's interesting you know the last time I heard bill Belichick talking give something similar a speech two thousand eight I don't even think you gave that speech river Brady was alpha back castle ins of coming in after Brady got injured in the first couple of games and they go eleven five that was the last time it's been over a decade since the patriots had to give a speech like that and when I see Sean McVay who was this hot you know commodity they go they lost a wild card game made it to the Super Bowl in your two and we're thinking all right he's figured out the game he's brilliant makes me appreciate tells her what bill Belichick and the patriots continue to do in this sport appeared at the end of a yeah and that's why it's been the gray of people say it's the greatest run dynasty in the history of the league because how everything is structured for this not to happen and you see that these teams that lose super bowls the hang over effect there is something there because it's so hard to get in that position and then when you just fall short of it the error just comes completely out and having to reboot now they're rebooting and when you give up draft picks like the rams have and they have a full offense of why they have to re vamp you know in a way it is not left tackle he's getting older if he's gonna come back and play there's a lot of different things that they're going to have to deal with in the Sean McVay the genius title and why so many of these young coaches got hired that was not the case for a majority this season they did come on and play better at the end of the year but there is a stretch in the middle of the season this team was lost so they have a lot of work to do show my face got to figure out kind of new ways to reinvent what he's doing with the personalities gonna have it in you try to re invented and we see reinventing offices work right we we see with what the ravens have done under Lamar Jackson we sell it Sean make very had done obviously with the rams and the collegiate level though I think you can win a national championship by reinventing your office I you look at the LSU Tigers and and what we seen even clubs and while work with but in the NFL it's tried and true it's not about how great your offenses ask Patrick well homes as he has a super beau yet now is arguably the most impressive player often simply we've seen in years but it's about the defense and I guess we still trust the patriots more than anyone because of that defense dowsers or anyone else no I mean right now if you ask me I trust Baltimore and what they're doing running the football and then the defense because it used to be it was all defense and still it keeps you in these games but with the roles and how things go use you have to be able to move the football and that's why the people have been more down on this patriots team because they've struggled so much all season well yesterday was the first real glimpse in the last three or four weeks that you see you know what maybe and now I think you're gonna see a little bit of that doubt start coming back

49ers finish off their home slate in 2019 with an NFC West divisional matchup against the Rams

"We'll get things going then. In the Saturday night slot words the forty niners playing host to the rams. You're looking at the forty niners. A six and a half point favorite in this contest. Test total at forty five at Fox numbers tick tick trickle take down. Whatever the hell you want to say for forty six and a half on the open we know? The Rams playoff hopes are on life support. Pain the forty niners need to win to keep pace with the seahawks in their quest for a division title obviously they would like to win out and try and secure that number one overall seed read. This is actually going to be the largest underdog the rams have been stalled in football. Game with Sean mcvay. As their head coach they even rested starters late in the year season ago. And we're in catching six and a half but when you look at the rams performance against the Dallas cowboys all that optimism that enthusiasm that energy that the rams have found that two thousand eighteen swagger the goes out the window but the forty niners on the other side they need to bounce back after they were upset as a double digit favored by the Atlanta Falcons. It wasn't the best of matchups for the rams last week. And you know you look here in. It's it's not the best match up in this game either. It's week sixteen right like we've talked about these teams over and over. It can sound a little repetitive. But I think if you're looking at Jared Goff you're looking at mcvay you're looking at girl in this rams offense. The biggest thing is the ability to negate pressure right inevitably when it gets to Goff. How is he going to handle it? These are the things that matter most on this side of the ball and you go back to that week. Six matchup in golf just GONNA do anything. Sacked four times pressured. Twenty two did not handle that very well. One point seven yards per pass attempt zero explosive passes had a twenty nine percent passing success rate. That was with all three receivers healthy to back then so there wasn't any issues In being shorthanded. Now there's this lingering thumb issue golf hit his thumb on a helmet last week. He claims it's just Peruzzi. He claims just feels a little stiff. And he's GonNa be one hundred percent fine. Let's say golf is fine. Think about this match up a little bit you know you have a rams is team that passes at sixty two percent of the time. It's it's top ten in the league. They probably are going to pass it a little bit more here. Just Game Theory. Wise is being a nearly seven point dog as you alluded to the motion. The mcvay era but the point is of the rams are going to be passed now facing this forty niners defense and and we talk about this all the time. Top foreign pressure rate bottom foreign bullets rate. The secondary isn't left very vulnerable here and why they have the second most efficient pass defense all assigns at least so far unless Thursday hiccup at practice today that Richard Sherman Williams. They're going to be good to go Saturday. They were full participants. Since at Wednesday's practice that's a great sign. If this were two thousand seventeen I think or even early last year the solutions pretty simple right like just turn around. Hand it off to girly. Make the forty niners defend run. Make their pass rushers respect run make them think about this run game before they can just like go after Goff like a pack of wild animals if girly I can get going here. He didn't play in the first game if he can show flashes if he can be his former sell for sixty minute sample. I think that likely determines who covers this game taught right because the forty niners are the most vulnerable against the run. It's it's nitpicking picking but if you look the four defense twenty third in rushing success rate twenty second explosive run defense whether it's earlier Brown right. Those guys are GONNA have to be efficient enough off for the niners to respect the ground game. And if not I I don't think we can project GOV like going out and having a field day against an elite pass rushing elite secondary knowing passes coming all game.

"So today was a bevy of traits all all sorts of craziness happening Sheila Ramsey being shipped from the rams sorry for the jags to the rams for two first of forced workers peers to ship the rams all the way over to Baltimore brother moves I'd like to talk about like how how old this ins up working out for teams around this time right you get into a position where maybe you're a buyer maybe your seller what do you think goes through the minds of of teams that are only six games into the season at this point yeah you know it's hard because the trade deadline is so early in the season and the way that it's all like baseball where it's you know the end of July and you know if you're in it or not so it's difficult but what's interesting to me is is over the past few years you know it wasn't that long ago there were rarely NFL trades and now all of a sudden you're seeing a lot more activity in a couple of weeks before the trade trade deadline at that so it's fascinating is sort of the changes but you know you look at the standings and there are what a couple of teams the dolphins the red you know who can legitimate Cincinnati can legitimately say they're not going to make the playoffs right everybody else is still in the mix and and that's what makes it so hard in some of these obviously were person you know personnel issues more so the horse and and talent but we feel like the Broncos I mean for example they went they if they somehow be the chiefs there only one game out of the AFC west to relieve me of sweat that that's how close it I just I find interesting bed that it's if you have to you making this decision at this point to either be a buyer or seller and he said there's only a couple teams a real legitimately say that well yeah we're we're not in position to win right now yeah yeah I do know I just found it interesting look at the rams at this Sean McVay said you know all the three and thirteen twenty six Jaguars at four sixteen Jack or some people get three players from them that's what's gonna put us over the top here ready to go get Blake Bortles Dante Fowler Jaylen Ramsey what I really put this thing over the topic pages that one man's trash is another man's treasure yes well but I I I think it's deeper than that it's the when you look at a team like the rams they trade away Marcus Peters but then they trade for Jaylen Ramsey clearly they didn't have a need at corner thanks what they had a need to do was to move one guy and bring a new guy and so that's why you know it's personality stuff it goes back yeah I want to bring up Antonio brown again but it's it's it goes back to was a guy fitting it is a guy causing trouble and obviously Jaylen Ramsey everybody knows what was going on in Jacksonville right in computers computers was a kind of the consummate teammate in LA but he did have some issues with some coaches there as well that's part of the reason you get the whole circular movement there with all that kind of stuff you saw a lot of outpouring of support from teammates for Marcus Peters when he was dealt then we see that with the jailer Remzi on that bill team chemistry I mean you've been a lot a locker rooms and like like I think we talk about that thing is like it's it's a big it's a big deal because deal but then there's like the other other segment that says I mean personality is one thing but performance is another Jill Ramsey's could still consider were the best quarterbacks in the league that's gonna put up some of that he probably is the best I any any is what twenty four years old I think I mean he's so big pick up for the rams the question is how do you fit in and I I think it's it's a mix I mean you look back at teams that have been had tremendously talented rosters that maybe there was some issue in the in the in the in the you know whether it's with the chemistry or in the locker room or somehow between coaches and players and that can that can dive bomber team at the same time in do need talent but these guys as you know spend every day together for months and months and months and it's important that they get along so if if one guy is is causing issues I think it probably makes

Christian McCaffrey (back) misses practice

"Of star running backs who have missed orbin limited in practice this week due to injury the biggest question marks on this list Todd Gurley and David Johnson both those players missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday Adam get us going here Christian McCaffrey is they faced the box yesterday they faced the books over in London Christian McCaffrey went through practice this morning head coach Ron Rivera said he's five it sounds like more of a rest maintenance issue with Christian McCaffrey not going to be an issue for him on Sunday morning at nine thirty eastern he is expected to play against the buccaneers field ABC American saints at the Jags you don't like injuries pop up during the week Suzanne Alvin Kamara was added to the injury report on Thursday because of an ankle issue he was limited no clear indication whether or not he will play if for some reason he sits Latavius Murray's the next man up in the world is in that back at huge matchup rams niners what about Todd Girls it has not practiced the last two days suzy he is nursing a quad injury. Sean mcvay made it sound yesterday like they couldn't practiced in yesterday's if they needed to so it sounds like they're managing and again we'll find out today where they listed on the injury report about David Johnson against the Falcons not yet it just seems so far this week because of a back issue susie but GM steve kind was on the radio in Arizona this morning express some optimism about Johnson plane he did not he's not one hundred percent certain but there's at least a chance with David Jones Attivo Chris Carson be ready to go against the Browns Susan your field mentioned the did Alvin Kamara was added to the injury report mid week same is true of Chris Carson with a shoulder injury limited during practice on Thursday he's such a physical back you worry about her shoulder injury with Chris Carson if there's any questions about his availability for any backup b. let's add a wide receiver to the mix the chiefs I recall that will of course he has been suffering that clavicle injury all the way back in week one limited participant practice all week last week he has been limited so far at this week's who's the seems like there is a chance in a game that all of a sudden is one that people are seemingly given the texts better chance to win on Sunday in Kansas City.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott back at practice

"The way zeke is now at practice for the cowboys. He signed his contract about fifty million bucks a year which is top of the class. It's in that todd gurley class and i know the rams this morning love their todd gurley contract is he got hurt but zeke zeke is an important player. I don't buy that zeke's the most important player i think dak prescott is the franchise. He's gonna make over double zeke makes he's the guy went in front of the microphone. He's the guy won't touch the ball late but zeke isn't a lot of wow he's twenty three touchdowns thirty five hundred yards but he went a bunch of games and i think he's a grown up in an adult and i think it's dax team. I don't think it's zeke's team. Although i think zeke is really talented. I think aaron donald really talented but i think it's jared goff's team in sean mcvay team not aaron donald in los angeles but i will say if you're a high school running back in college running back n._f._l. Running back this is a good day for you because zeke got paid and there is this narrative out there now that running backs analytically don't deserve the the money

Aaron Rodgers 'Glad' Packers' Joint Practices with Texans Over

"Go to the n._f._l. Let's start this in green bay. Packers and new head coach matt leflore and aaron rodgers not on the same page early in camp. The coach likes can't likes camp likes working out with other teams. Here's what aaron rodgers said said about doing a joint practice with texans. I wouldn't mind if they didn't do it for another fourteen years and then he said that the offensive work is of great value because schematically. There's not a lot there and he doesn't like the risk of injury. Is this just one of those things or is this a real problem between rogers and the floor. Take it or shake it. Take it real problems. Take take take it though she sleep but i think when you think when you think about what i said the other day about out joint practices. It's a no no. No one wants to do that but coaches then only ones you. There's there's nothing to gain from it. The iran tell you 'cause. Let's coaches are stupid. He just do stuff. They just day or stupid. I told you this the other day and raja's comes out and basically backs up exactly exactly what i'll say it. No one wants to do that. You risk injury. You're getting no real work at all and it is going to be a power struggle for this young head head coach and matlock floor in aaron rodgers. It's going to be a power struggle in math going to have to cave in or else. He's going to get fire yeah. I was just gonna say if you're a brand new head coach jay first time head coach and all of a sudden you gotta go coach your first team as the head guy that's one thing you've got to be the head coach of the green bay packers with a hall of fame quarterback. Who's in the meat prime of his career. That's a totally different thing different. Yeah it's different because ann rogers is also different. He's so cerebral. He's so questions every think think anyway. He's not just gonna go to get him on like other. Q._b.'s wills so you know skiing on the walls though skin on the wall. What do you mean it meaning matlock floor. Oh if you if you were dealing dealing with coach that came in and mike shanahan or bill parcells done something that has some skin on the wall the aaron rodgers with baal down where if there's a guy like sean mcvay say the world gets up into shining face their push mcvay a smart enough to realize that i need him to produce some let him do what he needs to do. If he's doing what he needs to do in his positive then we're gonna be okay and if it's negative it's gonna follow him. I've done everything to make him a better player. I'll keep my job. We'll get rid of him

"This is that you it's we put the microscope on you. We crush you. I did not think it was a great game for Sean McVay, but he's thirty three. I thought Anthony Lynn had a terrible afternoon for the chargers. He's older. I did not think it was a great day for Bob Sutton, the sixty year old defensive coordinator or Andy Reid there. Fifty sixty year old guys. So this is just the reality of the situation losing Super Bowls. You're going to get clubbed. You're gonna get club by every talk show every newspaper every blog, and it's how you handle it. And I think the Rams are really smart, and they'll handle it fine. It is interesting. I was Steve Kerr had a funny bite. We have three dynasties going on here. It's crazy. The warriors dynasty, the Alabama dynasty and the New England dynasty, and it usually it doesn't work that way. But we have in the three most popular sports arguably in America, NFL NBA, and college football, we have three dynasties and Steve Kerr joked about it the other day. Just gets old watching the same team win the whole thing. Your fear. I was really arrogant. Was kind of fun to say that. You know, I actually think of the three dynasties I think most people think the patriots will be the first because of Brady's age to evaporate. I think the opposite. I think the Alabama dynasty is already fraying because of three factors number one. Clemson has emerged as every bit as good or better than Alabama. Secondly, the SEC football powers like Florida, Texas. Am. Georgia. Now have really really good coaches. So they're going to lose more conference games. And I think Golden State after they win this year again and win easily egos and a recklessness. They just happen. They happen to Kobe shack. Michael, Jordan retired. This is just the way the NBA works. I think New England's here to last ballot. Check still the best coach Brady was just the best quarterback in Super Bowl. And they have twelve draft picks. I think knowing Lund's is going to last for at least three more years. Our to next. This is the her.

"Or you learned to mind control of your opponent. It's a thing term called psyched out. Psyched out means was someone is not running their race or running in near lane. Not to get too deep it to track but air Rogers is number one in his head. Maybe one be if you say Tom Brady, guess what I'm trying to hear. We'll my coast comes up to me just how to get me to another place up. And if the only way I can go up is by changing who I am. But what I am got me here. I'm not I'm not trying to alter that genuine believes. He's not at fault. Right. Why didn't you believe? It's. Not me everybody. Let me he doesn't hear all he might hair. My hearing what it doesn't matter. So here and want to keep getting better. Like, do you think an Roger sits here and says, you know? More ready to consider XYZ. I'm a stay right here. No. He wants to continue to keep getting better. Exact wants to be one time. What are you thinking total? If I had Sean McVay as a coach would do if I had this guy. That's what he thinks. He's he does his. No, he wanted personnel control. Because he said I wanna make sure I'm in alignment with who you have is they fired him. And then he's like you not give me what I want. Oh, when you leave a lie and say, how close we really work, but I didn't come to bat for you. When we were still here not gonna really had influence of you keeping your job. He actually thinks this is a better move for him going forward to be gets to ride guy. I I listened TMZ just put out a video. I think our story about air Rogers made some little comment about he had dinner with his folks, recently, his pairs, and again, it doesn't surprise me that he's dropping that little nugget because his brother just savagely. And so he's Aaron Rodgers. Here's the noise and is reacting to the noise his brother just savaged he knows how that exposed. And then a week later. Here's Aaron HALE was out to dinner with my folks, he hears the noise he's capable of reacting to it. He can't listen to this. He knows that his parents. They they're going to be in his life forever. We talked professionally on the field. He re I'll have a hard time not believe in. He doesn't think. No, his problem. He's delusional. But at some point, I'm just telling you has to stay on MIR that is not evidence that he's hearing a noise. Therefore, he's reacting to it. Because what you have fallen victim to selective perception case in point everyone who comes LA they stay out here for a week. One thing they go back home and say man, everybody got a Mercedes everybody's beautiful. Ain't you just didn't look at all the Toyotas between that Mercedes? And guess what you have not watched every Aaron Rodgers teams the interview when he probably dig go to dinner with his folks six months ago, eight months ago, but now you caught one after you've been put on notice, and you're gonna use that against a man using the gifts. I think it's a son that he's here's the noise, and he's gonna just dinner with his parents before you think I'm sure but. Football question. And somehow he brings. That's intentional. No different than these comments. We didn't have a problem, blah, blah. He's trying to deflect from some of the noise. You can't have all these football people say, hey, man. You're part of the problem a-rod is these the wake up to that in a just if he ever wants to be on the same level as some of the other all time greats. This is diminishing him this. It's great the only who you said he thinks that I think that one hundred percent on the same was manning. And Brady, that's that's just fat talent wise, he is, but accomplishment, wise, and respect level wise and just the weight his peers, if you don't think appears opinion of you matters. It does matter if he wins another Super Bowl, but he remains the same does your opinion of him change. I think we're saying he won't win. Another one doesn't somehow change. Yes. The little. Little power of era. What if he wins the narrative will be he must have changed and he won the Super Bowl? Porcupine? But now that four depan enga word stop. Stop look. Ain't never been divorced..

"And he's continuing to accumulate these experiences. You know, you almost just put them in your inventory of of your memory. So that you can say all right. Hey, this is what Green Bay and Mike pet and gave me this is what Bradley gave me. And you know, these are things that, you know, have played against Dennis Allen lead defense last year, and those experiences serve as as great reference point for you just to continue to accumulate mental reps, and then be able to use them to have success on the field now, obviously with all due respect to Wade whose. I love that guy as as you know, we've had conversations about what you know. You know, I don't know that I've ever met anybody you meet somebody. I don't like wait Phillips. And I think the problem is probably with them. It's you problem. I it's it's not a problem. It's a you problem comes like that. So so, but with respect to him in that defense that is building and building we just mentioned Dante Fowler. It could come down to the ability of you and Jared Goff communicating and executing on offense because of the way that breeze and Peyton or executing on offense on the other side. Is that something you think about coming into this week knowing that you've got a play caller and a quarterback combination of the first variety on the other side their coach, I think what we talk about. If we have a lot of respect for just what a complete team the saints are in all three phases. And what we try to do every single week. It's figure out. Okay. What's it gonna take you know, for all three phases to play complementary football? And really, you know, these eight games that we've had up to this point had served as great reference points for us. You know, where defense had a handful of big plays in crunch time. To be able to win games. Offense has had to do some things to close it out. Obviously special teams the other day, you know, Aaron gets a big stop when we're down one point end up going and kicking a field goal and then to be able to allow Ramiz Wilson and to make that play. So I think it's been about all three phases. But certainly we always have to be ready with contingency plan. Based on the way that the field flow of the game plays out, and you know, from an offensive standpoint, we want to try to be as a fishing as possible and move the ball and score points. But it's gonna be a great challenge yet New Orleans, especially against the defenses plan as well as they have of late in your first year and a half is head coach in the in the National Football League. If you had to change one rule, you could wave the Sean McVay wand, you could change rule. What would that be? Oh man that now that. What are we talking about specific to what I mean? What are you? What don't you like you like, you know, when I wish this got changed as a defensive penalty rule is that an offensive rule is it something of more challenging. Sit down and think about that. You know, I think one of the things that's kinda come up that would be helpful especially once you get later on in the year just with regards to injury in different things like that is just being able to you know, up that active game day roster. Sometimes you get into situations. Guys are having to play with positions, you know, where sometimes you've seen them lineman down, and you end up having height ends playing tackle, you know, four that has happened for us. But I would just say increasing the active roster. But I mean if I set down and thought about it. I mean, I'm sure there's always things, but the thing that's good about the league. They're always working towards just, you know, collaborating with, you know, the the league the work coaches work with the players association to try to figure out what's best, you know, for everybody involved in. How can we continue to make this a great product that people love to watch took you out of your tunnel vision on the saints right there? Just that one question. I took it right out of it. Okay. I just wanna make sure that I just was asking 'cause I'm curious. Got it. Coach. I know you're you're going from meeting to meeting predate you jumping out and on the phone for a bit..
