"Has bills coach Sean McDermott some of his comments from whatever day it was this week it's Wednesday was Wednesday I think yeah and we'll get to a couple things Leslie Frazier in just a moment in this segment actually because I thought he again made some really brought up some very interesting things yesterday his chat with the members of the media south gonna join us at eight he was in on the zoom call it Leslie Frazier and today the bills are going to make Brian Dave all the offense coordinator and he's far well special teams coordinator available as well so we'll chat some bills football and Jake from of course with salad the top of the hour you can join us two eight oh three oh five fifty eight eight eight five fifty to five fifty whether it's Jake from whether it's the protester last night that was injured in Niagara square whether it's everything we've been discussing over the course of the week and we've told you all week and you want to join in on the discussion we're having great if there's just something you want to talk about you want it you just feel like you need to talk to somebody that's over here for and you can just call up and let us know your feelings on whatever we've been touching on the all week Marc Bolan cars is to an update on the seventy five year old man injured last night and Niagara square the recent serious but stable condition at ECMC alert and oriented he says that's better news let's hope he fully recovers and I can't I I look at the video once I have to go back and watch it again because I guess there is part of the discussion of the video is there something that the the man who was injured is holding in there aren't there people suggesting that perhaps he had he was handing a helmet back to police officers I don't know he has a helmet has a helmet one copy okay there are two angles on the video the first one that I saw was the one that was farther away museum get pushed and you hear the sound of his you hear him fall and it is sickening some flood of the ham and then the closer one is the one that I think is getting even more attention it is the lead story on Good Morning America and I mean it's just the the statement about how he tripped and fell Byron brown the mayor said that the original an accurate statement happen because the initial information that came in was that the man tripped as more information and videos came in the statement was corrected yep anyway we are discussing that and whatever else is on your mind to mmhm so I am I should have pre reddit tweet I wanted to read it before we bring it up on the show and that's why I'm pausing if you just give me a okay your vetting it yeah well I guess yeah because I try not to I no matter what no no matter what this this we gave me even more something about what I never ever tried to read a tweet live I do like because you never know what you're going to stumble upon right on Twitter so I try to be careful and I just want to make sure there is a man okay and is there an age okay let's see this is one of two one I don't see the second tweet from this person anyway you got you if you can find the second part I mean anyway tweeted in with the from thing this person said that the afternoon show brought up a good point with Alan and what came out with him before the draft the huge difference is their age when some of these quote unsavory things were said I don't remember what Alan said Bhat and he says one of two and I don't see the second part of the tweet maybe he or she I should say it's a he so age yeah I mean how old was down when he's when he said whatever he said I don't even remember what it was like sixteen or seventeen or something yeah I don't know yeah I don't know I mean I think even that at that age you know what we would usually be pretty aware of things in your world again it's not a six year old blurting something out and you know first grade it Josh Allen was still would have been what in high school I think in high school you should have a decent idea of what is proper to say and what is improper to sell depends it depends how you're raised depends how you're brought up depends where you live it depends where you're raised I mean you know you don't just get a baseline humanity unless you are reviewed some of it has to be bright taught and learned so like to say well by the time you're twelve you you wouldn't say that word offense while you're raised to her who your parents are your parents doing that you know like it's all just it's been a week it's been a couple week it's been a decade it's been about a century you know like well that's part of the problem to how you're raised as part of this discussion and and how you're raised yes it can be completely different you could be raised with completely different values that parents believe are correct and you know another couple would say that's incredibly incorrect so I I get that and that's part of changing it but yeah I don't know I guess I guess if you're raised a certain thing I don't know German I'm just gonna say I know what you're saying I have no idea right right it's I we are it's hard to people without answer trust me I tell you I I think I have every answer to every saver exists but these problems I mean I mean you know you're busted trying like read about potential scenarios you know the the policing is definitely up we're seeing a lot of on different states municipalities really re evaluating how their police to work at night this will be I think maybe a year where the that's just kind of brought up like Hey should we be doing this should we be training this way should we be working more on de escalation in front of Meyer arms training that there's there's a lot of that kind of chatter in the country and for you know what happened and and Niagara square and what's happened all over this country for far too long like those conversations are alive and well and I think those are probably hopefully fruitful but there are others that you just you know we sit here we sell like I I don't know who's got the ideas come up with a lot yeah and I think we're all looking for you know we all would like to have some ideas passed along I I let me before I get to the next call just that that if you get a chance the piece I read on the author escapes me right now I can look it up but it was a piece in in the athletic and this person I talked to a number of college football coaches across division one and I don't know if he's the guy you mastered Richmond I apologize anyway one of the coaches he spoke to an African American was in law enforcement and now he's a college football coach the gist of the article was talking to all these coaches about what they tell their their their players they're the black players the teenagers are the early twenties on their roster and how they've handled this week but in general what they talk to them about and how they do coaches all of them talk about yes we go through training about how you handle yourself if you ever pulled over by a police officer and all the social issues they they talk about all that stuff and the guy who is whichever coach it was it worked in law enforcement talked about training and pointed out that he had been involved in hundreds of arrests during his law enforcement career and none of them were like what happened in Minnesota that's just your you don't do that that's not how you're trained as a member of law enforcement that you know and he was you know continued in a also talked about how troubling the video was any stunned and I thought it was instinct is this is a person this is from the perspective of someone who used to have a job as a police officer saying this is in training I mean you just don't do that and so and I thought I did see something yesterday one of the many stories about teams donating money in their local communities I think one team donated money towards the idea of you know revisiting training protocols and working with the local law enforcement to explore how they train the police officer what needs to be different done differently in the future eight oh three oh five fifty to join us Jake in Rochester you're on WG jogger right ahead good morning good morning wireless thanks about okay why fire someone right with the message gets through it all right to Faisal one and it might just cost anger or saying you know I care better not say there's like a fire why not have training so people don't know you know one time I had a coworker that so many that I'm sorry I was the first African American he worked with all his life and this guy was forty eight years old you know every damn big and mean this guy we we build a relationship and he's my best friend and that was ten years ago so no training I think training is the way to go yeah I think somebody you fire somebody they're not obligated for training yeah no I I do that then that's the that's the thing I feel about with from like if the bills made an example of him and fired him it is the greater good paid because the messages sent about that or is you know it is the the space for growth the right thing to do right you're too I think it comes down Jake thank you for the call I think it comes down to lead again Leslie Frazier made a comment yesterday about you know about hate in the world how you gotta love has to overcome hate and it's easy just to go down the hate road but we want to change so the question is if you release this player will that change Jake from will he learn from and become a better person it I mean in general terms if you said that and you got released I think most people would say okay you would understand if you like okay good good for the bill's not going to stand for comments like that and they got rid of that guy the question is is that better for societal change or is this part of the grassroots effort grassroots effort where you go and say okay here is an individual who needs to understand what he said were truly was wrong why it was wrong to make sure that you change his attitude going forward and you wouldn't necessarily be able to do that if you put the guy is just fire the guy you take on the responsibility of let's attack this head to head let's talk to him we'll have our teammates to I don't I don't have an answer for you this is way beyond my area of expertise the bills it looks like are opting for that so those are the yes those are the two approaches you can fire the employee and say he'll learn from that and that's the proper message because you can't say that in this day and age you should never say that or do you say okay he won't learn properly let's talk to him let's change this person and if you keep changing individuals then you're gonna make for a better world so I'm I'm thinking that's what the bills are opting for at this point got it okay so I mention Leslie Frazier them we'll try to get to some of the stuff because there's a lot of stuff to get to over the course of the show but I want to play this one for sure this is so they're having the discussion about George Floyd and the protests and everything going on and how the bills handing it in how were they talking about it with their players and their their leadership council and the team overall and Leslie Frazier earlier in the call with the media use the phrase that the a watershed moment like this we could be a watershed moment in truly bringing about change in the country so here's a follow up question in your first comment you said you think this could be a watershed moment what convinces you that this is different from unfortunately so many other simurgh a similar examples in the past and here's what Leslie Frazier had to say just sitting there with the.

Browns Dismiss GM John Dorsey Days After Firing Head Coach Freddie Kitchens
"Let's get to it Sadly adly mark we gotta start with the browns. How did we get back here? We're back we're back to the bounds being the browns. They have fired yet. Another general manager her Cleveland parted ways with John Dorsey. After two years on the helm the team announced made that move official after it was reported in multiple places. The decision to move on from Dorsey comes just two days after the Brian Brown's fired head coach Freddie Kitchens at the conclusion of the regular season Dorsey had a meeting with. Jimmy has them the team owner earlier. Tuesday the two sides according to Tom Palacio We're talking about possible. Structural changes that would curb Dorsey authorities GM but when the two sides can come to an agreement it was over mark Feels like Cleveland. Even though the better roster is back to square one in terms of dysfunction and just in general question marks about the present and the future and I can't and even begin to understand how you must feel the frustration of well. I'm of two minds because the first is they're just more proof that the browns the constant mode is sort of developing farce. I mean whatever whenever you think that they've turned a corner. They're actually just going in a circle back to where they were before for. And there are a lot of disturbing reports and whispers coming out of Cleveland that the ownership and we know this is not not shocking. Can you think about it. But the but they continue to be very impatient with all their decisions and the people they hire and so the question now and I think that the I've never seen the fan base this deflated because of where they were a year ago at this time. Or let's say seven months ago to now but because it just doesn't seem to matter to most people who they hire and it's too it's too de energizing using to get excited about fill in the blank coach and the from the other side though I will say this had they kept John Dorsey. It would've narrowed the candidate list of who was gonNA come and work with that next team by a lot so I think if you're going to keep doing this but do you agree with that. Dorsey wasn't the guy to be leading the charge. Because everyone seems it to be an agreement that he was a guy that came in the obviously inherited. Sasha's bountiful gifts and had some hits has mrs but had some big hits to me it all feels a little premature to take him out of the equation but this organization has done. There wasn't a straight firing right. They just say couldn't get different visions on how they saw the football operation going full hundred percent. I think they wanted to keep them and they talked about how much they liked him. But John Dorsey is probably very prideful and not going to take what is it what is when you're changing title it also demotion what else is it and the thing is he he. It's hit. It was his decision number one to go with Freddie Kitchens and they they ignored Paul does recommendations of Kevin Stefanski DEEPA. Desta also wanted. Sean McDermott in the past. So I think what they were saying. Was We kind of trust. Paul Podesta's voice in in this at this time around and that's not something that again. It's kitchens fall. It's a soup of Dursey for hiring kitchens more recently. Stunning fall though we were at the owners meetings and at that point John Dorsey was the toast of the NFL. I read them in the top five of my GM rankings. no-one no-one said Oh that's that's too high. I mean like it was very recent who is five. Oh who's right behind him. Thomas demetre was five. Kevin Colbert over three but It is amazing how much talent he acquired in a short time and he's gone but I think they've gotten it wrong so many times of not having the GM and the coach align that act. I do like I like I think that needs to be on the same page. Yes at every time. So I'm fine with it. It's deflating to the point of heartbreak for for Browns fans that last year at this time this job was seen as one of the most coveted in the league with a young talented nucleus. And you're finally going to bring the winter to Cleveland and now it's senior reading reading stories that executives say that's the one place I would not go and you're right back to where you were if some of these coaching tree scenarios were cal Shanahan and has a number of people interviewing with the browns. He was there he's he. He demanded his way out of the building. You got you know the bill. BELICHICK's of the world are going to be telling these guys be careful because yes. It's great for you to go on and get a head coaching job. But the DNA here is that you won't be there. Four hundred as has made it clear in his press conference Thursday that the coach would be part of hiring the GM which sounds weird. But I know that's fine but it means that the coaches ultimately the GM's boss Asif you get hyper and that's fine as long as it's defined ahead of time if that helps them get mcdaniels fancier whoever it is that they want in the door. That's fine it it just makes makes it clear that it's the coach. That's in charge and function and dysfunction always starts at the top and sports and since the has them's joined there on their fifth took over team. They're on their fifth coaching search and seven years and John Dorsey is the fifth different person or group heading up the football operation in that same seven seven year that has to be unprecedented. I mean there are at least just third that work in at least the third that only had one year really which is why
Hot Seat Szn: The NFL Coaching Carousel
"Dan You talked about. How if it's only been a year? Sometimes a team will say. Let's give this guy a chance to turn things around. But it's been a couple of years in in Detroit with Matt Patricia. Why do you think that team came out before black Monday? And said we're going to hang onto him despite the fact that he's one In two seasons as many games as Jim Caldwell one in a single season before he was fired in Detroit I think the key is bob coined the GM right he comes from New England. He gets rid of Caldwell he goes and six out Patricia who knows from New England and he has sold ownership on. We can build this thing. Long-term here's what Martha firestone foreign said about her decision to bring back both former patriots quote. We expect to be a playoff contender. We expect to play meaningful games in December as she's referring bring to next season when she brings him back whatever he's told them about here are signs that it can work. They've bought whether they're correct or not. I think you know the former New England crew. That's running the Detroit. Lions has convinced Detroit Lions Ownership. Here's why this can work here. We're sorry it hasn't worked right away but two years isn't long enough. Give us another chance. And we'll see how much does the GM matter when we're looking at these teams in trying to evaluate whether or not they're going to move on from their head coach well matters a lot. It commensurate a couple of different ways one. How tied together are they did the GM hire the coach? And right now when when Quinn goes Detroit cold wells already there. You figure we'll cold well. It's not going to last because Quinn's GonNa WanNa bring in his own Guy Lo and behold that happen happen so if you are the guy that the GM hired that might help you if you are the guy that GM hired but it's going poorly and you're the the first guy the GM hired then. Recent history has shown us that you are the one in trouble and the GM is not there are coaches out. There that will tell you that. GM sits in the owner's box. He talks to the owner all game. He's the voice he hears while the coaches are down there on the field losing and it's pretty easy for the GM that kind of position himself. Like hey this isn't my fault. Let's make a change and try it another either way. I do think there are situations where you see more and more around the league where it goes in the other direction where. The coach kind of picks up in San Francisco. John Lynch came because Kyle Shanahan wanted wanted him in Buffalo Brandon. Beane came because Sean McDermott wanted him so I like that. Formula Teens are using now or they get the coach. I coach brings in mm somebody. He knows he can believe in. They understand the salary cap in the same way and can do all that administrative stuff together. I think that's that's a formula that looks like it's working in a few spots.
Buffalo Clinches Playoff Birth
"Your namesake team is in in the play offs. The bills I mean. I don't WanNa Brag Bill. Barnwell is a senior football writer at. ESPN he has consulted with NFL teams. But the bills are not in fact named after him. So tonight the buffalo bills beat the Pittsburgh steelers seventy ten clinching a spot in the postseason and bill. What's amazing about this team? Aside from being named after you Is that for most of the two thousands. They didn't even have a winning record but but now they have made the playoffs in two of the last three years during this rebuilding process. Where does this recent success begin in your mind? I think the simplest place for it to start is just hiring Sean McDermott. This is a coach. Who really seems at odds with with a lot of what? NFL Teens tend to do when they have head coaching opportunity. Pop Up Sean. mcdumber forty two wasn't like he was old but let's face face it every coaching opportunity. That's popped up over. The last three years has basically been. Let's try and get a offensive minded coach or someone who is particularly close to. Sean McVeigh and correct defensive minded coach the panthers weren't even coming off a good season they were six and ten and ranked twenty six points allowed the year before so the bills really took a shot on shark dermott top of that. The bills gave McDermott some level of personnel control. which teams are really it? Really Loath to do it. First Year head coaches but it worked. The bills had an excellent free agent period in two thousand seventeen and they earned their draft totally differently that year their previous previous GM Doug Whaley had repeatedly traded up in years past regrettable move. Sammy Watkins. Being the most notable one but damage first move was to trade down and and the first player he drafted was Davis White. WHO had a big game against the steelers? Last night tonight again squirts out of bounds around the twenty yard long. So why headed early picked in fact. We'll before McDermott joined the team in two thousand sixteen they had the twenty seventh best defense in the NFL according to football outsiders after that they started taking up up in now bill. It's one of the best units in the League. How did this defense gets so good so quickly? I mean just to keep it simple. They got rid of everybody pretty much. I mean. The fifty three players were on their roster for the final game in two thousand sixteen before Mcdermott arrived. There's three guys left in the Renzo Alexander Jerry News and Shack Lawson all front seven pieces. I mean everyone else. Fifty other players on this roster Aurora ellsworth point and the bills have drafted well. But I think what makes this team so interesting as they really go out of their way to get veterans from other rosters and saw seemed to get more out of those players in their previous teams games in their first free agent period Jordan play Mike Hide Jordan Philips for example comes to mind in recent years where he was a second round. Pick washout of Miami. The bills brought him in. He has nine and a half sacks this season as defensive tackle. That's really impressive. There's just a lot of players on this roster who either were good somewhere and have become great in buffalo or who really weren't playing very well at all or almost out of the League who have become regulars on this really talented bills defense so last year the bills. Roll the dyson Josh Allen in the draft trading up to take him seventh overall despite his lack of college production in his rookie season was pretty underwhelming warming. Bill Fifty two point eight percent. Completion percentage just five point four adjusted guards per attempt. It seemed to me that they approached this off season with a really concerted strategy to build around him in free agency. Signings worked out for the team. It's been really good. I mean it's really the same philosophy sophy we saw on the defensive side of the ball. Those have had fifteen players. I not on offense for at least twenty percents of the snaps. Twelve of those guys are new into the roster. It's both running backs. All three of their tight ends five of their six top offensive. Lineman you know in a League where so many times you hear here that a team should sign a player or they actually do sign a player because they know the system quote unquote the bills. Sort of realized. Hey we have coaches who we pay to teach each player's the system. We should just go get those guys instead and so many of those players are playing in a high level and I think. It's really been perfect for Josh Allen Alan who even going back to Wyoming. He had to play hero ball. He had to sort of make big plays for his team to win. And we've seen a totally different quarterback this shear. I wouldn't argue. Allen is finished product but he's been productive quarterback this year a using his legs to create opportunities. He's hitting a lot of intermediate passes when he didn't do that last year. And he's avoiding turnovers man after throwing four interceptions in that really frustrating loss the Patriots week for this offense. Turn the ball over four. We're times in nine games. That's incredible for an offense that really just turn the ball over at will last season and they turn the ball over twice against the steelers last last night but they still did enough on offense to victory the snap just gonNa keep it off. He will sail. into the end zone touchdown touchdown buffalo. Josh Allen from one yard out and the bills are on the scoreboard early in the second quarter. Do you think there are any lessons. That other teams can take from the bills rebuilding process. Yeah I I do think so and I'm GonNa make a comparison that I'm sure. Bills fans are not really gonNA love but there's a lot of patriots in what the bills have done in their philosophy. The bills have been great at Pro Scouting and they've really found a way to bringing those players like I said who were struggling elsewhere. who were just guys elsewhere and turn them into much better contributors with Buffalo? They've done great work with undrafted. Free Agency have a couple starters in their secondary from there as well. They built their scheme scheme to really accommodate their players. And that's not just the Patriots thing but also way ravens thing where we're seeing that with Lamar Jackson and all the great stuff they've done on offense The bills don't have a scheme that throws the ball up fifteen times a game downfield. Just because Josh Allen has a strong arm they create better throws for him that that play to his arm strength as opposed to just trying to hit a big play because Josh Allen has in his arsenal I think in the big picture. There's just this idea that you shouldn't blindly follow what the NFL does with their trans so the bills are in the playoffs. Most likely as a wildcard team and bill while the defense is he's one of the best in the league offense has been up and down they really didn't produce very much against Pittsburgh. Do you think that that's a formula that can and work in January. I do not. I think they're a team. Nobody's GONNA WANNA play this postseason. It's very different from twenty seventeen eighteen where I don't think it's fair to say. The bills sort of meant the playoffs by accident that year. When they benched tyrod Taylor Nathan Peterman in mid season and kind of just rent a hot streak into the playoffs over the final month of the year? This team is way better on defense. They have more faith than Allen and I think the playoffs actually line up pretty well for for them as a five seat which is most likely where they're gonNA fall. They're terrible matchup for the Texans who they really really gave a tough game. Two in two thousand eighteen only for Nathan Peterman the throw too late interceptions to hand the texts victory and then they gave them our tax and Fitz. When they played last Sunday? I don't think this is going to be the last time the bills are going to be in the playoffs with this court. They're really opposition to be the best team in the AFC east. If the Patriots slip any further. And I am. I don't think I think it's too far to say that I'd be the best team in the AFC east right now
Panthers fire Ron Rivera after eight-plus seasons, Perry Fewell to serve as interim head coach
"Ron Rivera is out in Carolina nine seasons are almost nine seasons course he was head coach when Sean McDermott was the defensive coordinator there they went to the Superbowl Super Bowl fifty in Los Denver Rivera one seventy six games which ties him with John fox for the most in the history of that franchise you'll who was the interim coach of the bills ten years ago like right now ten years ago he may have been the interim coach of the giants wants to I'm not sure but he is now the interim coach in

"Thompson Henry badly. Sean McDermott had to be careful late in that first half. With those two fouls. You look at some other leading sports for the BULLDOGS, Paul Jorgensen with six points, three rebounds, and Joey bronc in there with four point zero and Thompson had three in just twelve minutes out on the floor and Sean McDermott picked up a bucket. He's got two points in thirteen minutes to the BULLDOGS outside of Kamar Baldwin struggled to get the shots to fall for the pirates. It's miles Powell with thirteen point six six at the line McAleese, really grabbed seven rebounds and he picked up four points. Smiles kale with five on behalf of Butler university in the entire central Indiana community. He would like to thank Eric Bain and Rodman says for establishing their new paint immense community assist program they've committed to donating to a local charity for every bowler during men's basketball home games this season that will help those in need throughout our communities. So we think gentlemen, we'll take a look at the pain immense statue, Mark. We talked a lot just you gotta cut off miles power. Well, he's three of six. He's very efficiently is really misses or from behind the arc. But he's gotten to the line. He's got those thirteen points to gotta do a little bit better job there. And then points in the paint markets twenty two eighteen it's nip tuck, right? And again, those are some of those loose ball Salo's extra opportunities. Allowing them to get to the charity stripe. If you can eliminate some of those those things and continue to to harp on the I thought the energy and the effort was there you've got to play a little bit smarter. I think again, we talked about some of those breakdowns, and then you've got you've got to try to find a way to fit it with how many times do we see? You.

"Proven number one. Now, how often do those come free? Well, they come free when the team that has him is it willing to pay an exorbitant sum of money. So if you're gonna do that you have to prepare to overpay. But I think this passing game has languished near the bottom of the league for too long. They were thirty first in passing last year there thirty first in passing right now. And they're probably end up their short of some kind of miracle performance coming up on Sunday against Miami. So it's gotta be better. It's gotta be better. And you need somebody at the wide receiver position that you can target eight to twelve times every game. No matter who you're playing and that guys coming. Down and making plays and scoring touchdowns. For more tweets from Mike, see what should Santa leave under the tree for the bills? He says an aggressive forward thinking offensive minded coach. Well, whatever I think Sean McDermott is aggressive enough. I think he's forward thinking in terms of his knowledge of where the game's going and right where the game is and on top of that you have Brian Cabell. And let's think about what he's had to work with this year too. You know, we said at the beginning of the season when points were even hard to come by that he was essentially calling plays with an arm tied behind his back right because without an offensive line that can this is an offensive line that can capably execute a screenplay just think about that for a second. And how many pages that removes from your playbook? They tried to run a wide receiver screen yesterday is MacKenzie and it went nowhere. Because Isiah McKenzie is cutting inside to run behind the linemen. The linemen wasn't there yet? Nobody was there. It was a mess because there is no mobility. That's good enough to execute screens. On the edges. They can't do it with linemen. So now being offensive coordinator on a Sunday and say, hey, look, I know this defense that you're going up against has trouble defending screenplays, but we don't really have a group that can run that. So don't even think about it. Well, you're probably taking twelve fifteen pages out of your playbook, eliminating any and all kinds of screens slip screens wide receiver screen bubble screen. You know, running back screen, whatever it is tight end screen. It's all gone. You can't use it. I mean, that's where the hand behind my back now. Handcuff me the bills were admit season. They got better as the season went light yesterday notwithstanding against one of the better teams in the NFL. They had big issues yesterday. The patriots were pretty good in the bills are really bad. But there was there was an improvement over the course of the season on the offensive side of the ball. One more from the tweet cheat. What do you hope to see Santa put under the tree for the bill's very Daniels tweets in Tom Brady's retirement speech help I'd have is very creative. And I like that. Well, done Barra we talked about Brady he's not what he was. But he still pretty good. I we're gonna take a break come back with more one bills. I presented by Kaleida health from one bills drive, and this is Buffalo Bills radio. WGN sports.

"You're going to see some things from time to time that are new and so they presented some things that were new for Josh. And you know, I thought he settled down at times and made some good throws in there on the overall obviously not enough on offense. Gotta have better production. I didn't think our early down success early in the game. In particular was good enough. We're in the third and longs. She's not which is not a healthy situation for a young quarterback. I agree with Sean McDermott. I think he's right there. And he gave insight into you know, we can we can talk about cliches this coach gives a lot of generalities because he doesn't give you all the minute details all the time. And you know, most coaches are like that. But I think right there, you could take that and say, that's right. What he said he's not going to tell you exactly who screwed up in every play. But early down success. Josh Allen seeing things he hadn't seen before. All ended up. It all up to them being in third and longs and being behind the sticks. If you will right and unable to convert and keep drives alive. That's why they were to twelve and down all day. That's why they weren't able to move the ball early in the game. They started with three three and outside believe it was and things were just rough for Josh Allen all day. I said pre-game I said he's not going to see the same look twice in the first half. That's just what bell checks going to do. And I mean, I don't know if that's true. But I do know what Sean McDermott said it backs that up that they they give them a lot of different looks. That's what happens with rookie quarterback's. Fella. Check eats them up. It's tough. I it doesn't change my outlook on Josh Allen, in any way, shape or form that just it's a game. He wasn't as sharp. He wasn't as good, and it's.
Who's in and who's out: Bills' coach Sean McDermott on team injuries
"Indiscipline with our track. And then there's times where receivers have to do a better job in blocking. So it's never just one one guy or one unit, but it all the run game always starts up front. Last night just on how big your your concerns in regards to Josh. Wanting expose running so much in having himself exposed to nastiest. Yeah. I mean, you know, I've mentioned this before you guys have asked that before I think it's probably honestly going to be an ongoing conversation. I'm Josh is a mobile quarterback mobile quarterbacks. There's a conversation about every week. They running too much are they're not running enough. What happened to the quarterback run? You know? So at the end of the day, we've got to keep Josh upright. He took some hits yesterday. That he can't take. And we've got to make sure we do a good job of protecting him. And then Josh has to help himself out at times with being smart with the football and the alarm clock in his mind has to go off as well. And and getting rid of the ball and and living to play another down. Yeah. You know, it's it's not at times. It's not ideal j other times where I like seeing what seeing what I've seen in terms of his mobility and ability to create off schedule plays that said the trust between him and the offensive line has to be there. So that he can go through his progression. And keep his eyes downfield and industry with the football. You know, it's it's a shame that he took the hit that he did. Thought that should have been called. But they didn't see it, obviously. And. But that said I thought, you know, he came out in the second half had a couple of good warm-ups and felt good about it. In the second half there. So those sorta day we'll see how he comes comes back tomorrow. There's no place in football for it. And it's like a quarterback, you know, he gets hit in the back any player for that. Now that gets hit in the back should be a foul. And then he's he's a kicker. That to me is afforded the protection. Yeah. He did a good job. I mean, I think it's what about his third hundred yard game this season for an undrafted free agent. I think he's done a nice job and credit to him and the way he's developed and he's developed a nice report. Josh. He's starting to really round out his his approach to the game in terms of his preparation and his approach in terms of his routes and his detail on us routes, which that'll continue to develop Sean gets hurt during the game or something. Acting up on. Yeah. As far as I know it was early in the game there a couple of plays into the game. And he tweaked it. Louis view. Thank you. You know, he went he was evaluated this morning and was putting in the protocol. So he was evaluated evaluated. You're right j yesterday during the game it was allowed to go back in and then reevaluated evaluated this morning and put in the protocol. Josh was evaluated. Was that an an thing? I just soreness overall soreness. Continues to keep approves every week. All running everything. You know, you just watch watch a young guy develop. And that's part of the joy of coaching is to see a young man come in. And to be honest with you, not really get it early on in terms of. Hey, this is the NFL. It's not college anymore. Not on scholarship and. He went to he traveled in a short short amount of time the hard path of getting released we got him back as you know. And then he really he really. I guess woke up and started to do things right and prepare the right way. And know that hey, this is you got to perform and spent spent time with Josh and getting on the same page with Josh. And how important that is? So it's a young man that's off to a good start with a lot of room to grow. Yesterday. Yeah. And you're right. Joe? It's you know, it's it's hard to win games. When you play that way. Field position wise. Let's just go there with with special teams, but we've got to come out and establish a tone. On special teams, and that starts with our coverage units kickoff coverage in particular. And and sometimes it just comes down to guys flying around. And and. On a part of something bigger than than what they're you know, what I mean just just buying into something and going down there and buckling it up and going hitting someone. And so that's that's something. We've we've got to get done. Really, it's it's a little bit of a little bit of everything. It's never just one thing. And we've got some players plan their that. Maybe haven't played there before. And we've got some guys that have played there that that I expect to do a better job. Good. Thank you. Good. That's it Sean McDermott today. Matt Milano has a broken leg that was tough to watch. Yeah. It's always tough to hear about he's. It's going to be the prognosis is good. I mean, you should be back for off-season stuff. And it's good. I think he's he's sort of worked his way into how many good players do. I have on that side of the ball. Like he's in the he's in the group with with Tremaine Edmonds to me now. Like, he he's I think he's a nice player Milano. Seems fast enough to get down the field when he has to instinctual seems like around the ball. I like him a lot you ever break your leg. Do no dislocated dislocated the kneecap twice heard about that. Those are my knee injuries leg injuries. Those are the only your son brokers badly sprained ankle, my my son owned the hockey player. Bad like, great like Salter, Harris, tibia fibula. It was like there was a chance if things didn't heal properly for screws and plates, but he avoided all that because he took care of it while it was damaged. So what does that mean taking care of? It seemed like he was her dri don't know. He was just the doctors said you need to be really careful while you're in the cast because if this doesn't heal properly your we're gonna need to go in there and do surgery and put screws and plates in to make sure the growth plate is proper. And he he was very cautious. You just did not take any chances while that thing was. We had the potential to get worse. So good for him. He has like ten or eleven at the time. That's right. Eleven twelve. Maybe maybe eleven letter. I might have been right timelines all over the place. I think that that might be right. He was definitely wasn't a goal yet. He was a skater. So that might be a good guess the closest I've ever come to a broken leg myself is my co workers, son. That's the closest connection to a broken leg. Then I know of. Tony is with us alot. Tony. Tony. My coworkers on okay? Just turned on the radio turn off the radio. Did you see the Dallas game? Oh that was my goal worker. Suddenly, I thought it was the guy very confused. There was you. What did you see the Dallas game? Yes. Well, yeah. I mean, I got home. I told my wife my wife got home after me. She came in the room after I did whatever, and it was maybe twenty three twenty three and she sat down, and I said I sat down here about fifteen minutes ago in this game was nine six. Yup. He was just it was insane. Well, I was really insane. Philly to me. I mean, they lost credit to them. Like they got off the mat after they had that touchdown called back on that garbage offensive pass interference call.

"Week and a half. He was playing golf two weeks before that except that Anderson is now a concussion protocol. So guess what Sean McDermott and the bills are back to Nathan Peterman. Challenge. But the number one thing is that he is healthy number one. As I say he's in the protocol. So we'll take a one day. The problem though, is that he's in concussion protocol. And he's still their best option. So Sean McDermott is saying exactly that that he's in concussion protocol. But he's healthy. He's not hurt in any other way. So for now, it's back to Peterman. But this is how far the bills offense has fallen. And this is not a knock on Anderson. The problem if he just got there he's been playing golf and hanging out with his kids. But because Josh Allen can't start. He'll miss his third consecutive game. And because Anderson right now is in concussion protocol and not going to be cleared. They're back to Peterman that blows my mind that Anderson is still a better option than Peterman. If all things were equal and Anderson were cleared, I feel badly for Buffalo Bills fans. It was supposed to be better than this year after they finally snapped their playoff drought. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. This could also qualify as sad sap of the week. There has been speculation around New York around the giants that Eli manning will get benched in favor of a younger quarterback after their bye week. So they're on a bye in week. Number nine didn't get traded. By the way, case you were worried ally has been getting I would say lukewarm support from from Pat Shurmur to the point where he was asked about who is quarterback would be following the by and Shurmur response was we'll see. So maybe just maybe this is going to be the opportunity that rookie Kyle Aleta needs except Luleta gets arrested on Tuesday. Are you kidding me from the category of you can't make this stuff up? The giants rookie quarterback gets arrested and essentially throws out his opportunity to start and listen to this. He actually. Oh my gosh. It could've been worse. I guess he actually when it against the police officers orders made a turn when he was told to keep going straight. So he was told you cannot turn here you have to keep going straight. But he decides he doesn't care because you know, he's a rookie quarterback for the giants. So he makes the illegal turn any way on a highway near New.

"Addition of NFL live, Wendy next Josina Anderson coach, John FOX, and Tedy Bruschi. We'll start with the bill's decision to start Derek. Anderson there had been reports by our Diana Rossini that coach coach would lose the locker room if he went with Peterman Josefina instead he makes what he says is the best decision for this team opting for Anderson? Well, you can see why that would be understandable particularly just when you go back to last year in the history of how Nathan Peterman as perform. When he came in there, I had the five interceptions against the chargers. Then you get rid of AJ McCarron and he hasn't provided much hope behind Josh Allen. When he came in, I believe he had a QBR of fifty, seven going six or twelve. Typically when you have a backup succession plan, that's one that's also supposed to engender. Hope is fire that team lift the team. That's what you would like the talent evaluators to do in filling that position. And I think it's somewhat understandable based on his performance, not because anyone specifically in that locker room was told me that, but just based on his performance, you could understand why perhaps there are feelings like that in the locker room. The questions. I mean, just go back to when they brought in a guy that Sean McDermott as well as Brandon being the general manager both with from their Carolina days. It really right down. We're in a production based business and they, you know, albeit I'm sure gave everything he had. But when you throw seventy nine passes and nine of them are interceptions. That's not what's going to fit their style right now and the type of ball they're playing ground and pound run the ball and eliminate turnovers and trying to win with defense. You can't just sit there as a head coach and then be in those team meetings and then talk to us players and tell us you're going to do what's best for the team. We're going to put everybody out there that we feel can help you win football games. And then we as players have is also and we can watch and we can see and we can understand like give the kid another chance, or I give the kid another chance, but there comes a time where players do end up thinking. All right, coach that's enough chances. It's time to move on. It's time to make a conclusion on this guy. And so for McDermott to finally make. This decision. I mean, the players probably knew already coast. You put this guy in to start another football game for us. How much hope do I realistically have that we can win that he's not gonna throw two to three picks, and he's gonna make those make those mistakes. So in terms of having a quarterback in there where your team can look to and say, yeah, we got a chance with that guy. I mean that that's sort of running out on the Nathan Peterman Peterman experience. Everybody can agree that his debut with the five interceptions you know that he deserved another shot after that, you can say not not a good start to say the least, but let's wait and see. But we waited and we saw and that's where we are..

"Bills. Coach Sean McDermott saw his quarterback struggle. Nathan Peterman struggled in a forty-seven three blowout loss to the ravens. Peterman throwing for twenty four yards couple of interceptions. He was replaced by Josh Allen in the second half and he'll be replaced by Josh Allen in week two. Alan getting the start. I'm super excited and thankful for the chance to to be the start of this team. Now, this is something I've dreamed for for a long time. But now that it's here, you know, just come Sunday just trying to do my job. I'm not trying to do too much trust in those around me and ultimately trying to be the quarterback needs. Which is now moving the ball the chain on third down. Points on the board. How much how much did you clean from tied gut? You get action in a real. I took a lot from it. If you saw the first one it was in those little quick to is down as the game went on. I felt a little more comfortable and just kind of trust in the guys in front of me. And then the guy's outside just letting them go make some place. So how do you see? I mean, we're still in the preparation process. Replacing a really good defense this week. It's a really good team. They can they can offense to. So we gotta make sure we're doing the right things on our side of the ball. And that's negating the penalties and negative plays and stuff like that. "You are looking live at the Buffalo Bills media room right around the corner from where we are. They're all waiting for head coach Sean McDermott and this week's news conference the regular Wednesday news conference, but this week. A little twist head coach Sean McDermott expected to announce his choice for the starting quarterback for the Sunday for the bills game at the law against the Los Angeles. Chargers here at new airfield the home, openers matter-of-fact, welcome to the show. Jon Murphy, Steve Tasker, get an early jump on things today with the quarterback announcement coming up moments way, it has already been reported by Chris Mortensen that it is expected that Sean McDermott announced rookie Josh Allen is ready to make his first NFL start. I don't think anyone would be surprised to hear that in a couple of minutes here. So they don't have to justify that decision. Nope. No question about it. The way things went down on Sunday. That's why we're on early today is because this is high drama. Kind of. Not not the ideal way to start the season. I mean, you would. And we've we've been going around about what this means for the future, and the and you get your people that on one side of the wringing their hands over putting poor Josh Allen into the game. And maybe he's not ready or maybe the team's not ready around him or maybe it's going to be bad for him. But I think. You can you can always play out those hypotheticals worst case scenario best tastes Canario. But we'll find out if that's actually going to be the case is Sean McDermott takes the pool. Go ahead and get started opened up to your questions. For the judge. That's accurate. Josh will start. So right move for our team. Right move for our team. Last week. Pretty quick. What? Yeah. I mean, look at I'll feel a need. Honestly, the elaborate that we talk a lot in house about decisions and things and what we've gotta do and the right move at the right time. And right now, Sal this with all respect your question. This is the right move for us. It's the right move. That's what we got the right move for us. And where we are. Right move. I'm not going to get into how permanent it is guys in again. You gotta understand where I'm coming from. It's the right move for our football team and a lack on any further than that. It's the right move for our team. I've got confidence in Josh. I've confidence in this football team. And it's the right move for our team. Swayne? Joshes? How much are you able to leave from when when you went through this process? That. What he showed you in a regular season? Well in the regular season game similar what I said after the game. Vic, I thought his command of the offense was there. There was some things that he did well in getting us in and out of the huddle, which those are things you don't take for granted when a young players out there. And then after the snap. Executed fairly well at times. And then there's other times where we need to execute better. He he moved well to to put himself in position and generate some offense. I thought within the pocket and outside of the pocket. There's some things that that. I like I said after the game that he can do better. And it's going to be he's going to continue to learn and grow, and and that's that's the growth mindset that that our team embraces. And that's that's the case in this situation. Right. Ashes. Well, you know when you look at it experience as important as well. And he's going to get valuable experience from being in this case where where he's going to be this weekend in particular. Behind the steering wheel. And there's there's certainly valuable experience when you can stand and watch. But as we all know, there's no there's no substitute for the experience when you're actually behind the wheel. And and so there's a lot of a lot of value to that. Comfortable. Was in fact. Yes. Would've been accelerated. Celebrated situation for giant. Yes, that's accurate. I mean when you when you when you draft a quarterback like we did. There's a part of that. Got to say, hey, yeah. He he's gonna play either a or b or c and early metal or later or the next year. I mean, there's gotta be okay with all of that. And you know, that's you know. And I'm like I said before that's accurate. I'm I'm comfortable.

Snap stuff try to simulate as much as you. Can out there because. I mean they don't have a better option I don't know what they're gonna do at quarterback I don't know either and if. You're AJ, McCarron I mean as a team as a coaching staff you to think, he's coming off the shoulder injury I mean if you want, to, be on your Oster and be a valuable backup you also have to. Worry about his health yourself. And, say. Like do we? Wanna put it out there and risk injury in the situation I don't know what they're going to do they. Do have three quarterbacks in the roster I mean look all three could play and just basically hand. Off. And you. Use short passes and screen passes and things like that if you, want to get through the game you can. Get through the game. You can do that but I wouldn't be surprised they do. Have to, open roster spots. By the way, and they. Have, they. Have eighty. Eight on the roster so they could just go out and sign. Somebody and say go hand off I mean they had the Zappa ticket in for rookie minicamp shippensburg QB's. Out? There I took a look maybe that's someone you just say hey kid remember when. We taught you like very very minimal words in our, offense combined because we're gonna. Use it again I mean I don't know maybe that's an, option eight oh three oh five. Fifty one to hear from you have you taken the preseason pledge in Europe cool is the other side. Of the pillow or are you you kind of. Scared about last night. In what happened against Cincinnati Bengals I I do feel like it's a bit of a even though it's not an overreaction it. Might be, a little bit of a coming back down a bit buzzkill maybe if, nothing else eight oh three.

Of speculation, that that could be maybe even sooner rather than later the end of the relationship with Fisher russet strong association. With Saint John Fisher college did you buy into that and what. Did you think what do you, think of that narrative, what do, you think of that discussion that took place back in the first. Week in may I think with any major change in terms of you know, management hierarchy, whether it be coach the gentleman Andrew last year or the team president this year there's concern about major changes being taken with how the team operates business wise to me though you know the bills had their contract with Fisher and last year if they. Wanted to, make a clean and easy break from Fisher they could have just done it last year. And not renewed the contract you know so why why re up for. Five more years if that's not what you want to do especially if they brought in a coach or a GM. After, they signed that contract Brandon beginning we're here for that if they wanted, to weigh in and up either they could have. Done it and you would have thought with the amount of capital that they had even before they. Made the playoffs last year that that would have been the case you know I the trend league wine obviously to pull back from having camp at a remote site. So that's part of the reason for the speculation and? It's very reasonable but you look at? What's Sean McDermott is done every year that he went to a camp with either the eagles Or the Panthers they did what the bills for the last nineteen years which is to go about an hour or so away to a college campus and spend the first three weeks or so there. And we, all know how college football coaches are you do some fifteen years gonna do it forever. You know no matter what so I just see this is the way. This is Sean McDermott DNA you know the the bills had a chance to make changes to I think going forward Fisher for. At, least the, duration of the contract and or Sean, McDermott who knows what it'll be the NFL look like in four or five years nineteen. Season to, Saint John, Fisher college you've been there nineteen years covering the team and working for our I wonder. What have, what is having the bills they're meant to, Saint John, Fisher college into the city of Rochester certainly. The novelty has gone but still the town and the college must feel like they get a lot out of, this relationship well I mean, just from a practical point. Of view the facilities of Saint, John Fisher are light years. Better than they, were twenty years ago I mean you know Saint John Fisher. Is a premier division three institute when it comes to, sports and facilities you know certainly in the northeast and I heard that you know this isn't even going back for five years. I think the the amount of people who knew. What Fisher was in buffalo. Maybe in western Europe. In general, in one thousand. Nine hundred it was. Like five percent and then by two thousand fifteen it was, ninety five percent so you know obviously the the bills, are being at Fisher It's been, great for the institution for the town you I think for Rochester we get into big sports events this this is what we live where we have a whole bunch of them but being in the. Big event is what gets this town riled up and for three. Four weeks every year you know we are the. Center of for lack of a better term you know we are. Where all the bills events, are happening and you know it gives this town of feeling of yeah we don't have our own. Team, but we, are still an integral part of the, biggest sport in America and you can't help but feel good about that meeting Rochester which. Is you, know medium, size you know we we get a little taste of PJ golfer championship golf for years. This is, our thing for a few weeks and it, feels good, it does I can't wait thanks for this..

"A latch a little bit the fact that sean mcdermott came in yeah change a culture that god's know what the expectation go to the playoffs first time since one thousand nine hundred hundred a little bit more optimism buff buffalo but there's been a lot of a lot of change office align the quarterback position i mean those are two really key positions on a football team so like dancing i think buffalo kind of took a step back in order to try to take a couple of steps forward next year sort of build it the right way sell out for for one year and they have a challenge because five of their first seven games out on the road how about new england i mean take a look at these departures they traded brandin cooks the rams dan lewis dania mundelein eight soldiers see later free agency they left malcolm butler signed with the titans so probably mark the most notable departure on defense so since they're run of nine tree division titles began in two thousand nine the patriots have won eighteen more regular season games in any other team during that spans that said dan what he got well ninety seven which is the highest you can get on my particular spill so zero so i mean look at yeah yes they lost all those guys but i mean who's going to challenge them and be we're betting against brady and bella check in the afc east i mean that's a one year they didn't win it was the year that that brady got hurt week one and mrs eason so there is sure a bet as there is in a very uncertain nfl and i'm i'm probably not even doing them justice with that as a huge number yeah i mean listen this is a virtual lock for the patriots to win the afc i mean they've they dominated this division like no other team has dominated their division in pro football when you've got a combination of ability brady i think these teams are basically just waiting them out i i'm glad you said that because my question for you dan is the post tom brady era which team in this division is built to win who's got the best shot once breeze out of here you got to tell me which which of the rookie zetter and then then there's your answer sam darnold better than josh allen then that's your answer and vice versa than the bills of your heads i i do like the way the bills are building today means point in terms of trying to head coach is getting the guys he wants in there and all that stuff but a lot of work to do this team probably a little closer yeah but it's gonna come down to court come down take a look at this at least from a big picture standpoint our little pie graphs here feel like i'm back in sixth grade it's the thing of beauty right dan yours like a full moon melts is eight one slice of pizza that's basically what it looks like there but obviously the tone here is that the new england patriots are once again going to

"That was the report back when an ot as i got going he had knee surgery here in the spring but sean mcdermott said today there's no reason to expect that jones won't be ready to begin camp around the nfl couple of notes for you the patriots had a visit with quarterback christian hackenberg according to espn field yates and the chargers have reached out to thirty eight year old tight end antonio gates of course in a long distinguished career with the chargers but is not under contract currently they're starting tight end torres acl during some organized team activities last month that is hunter henry the sabres signed goalie yuka pekka lucan into a three year entry level deal lukin is finish and he was their second round pick in last june's entry draft evan longoria broke his hands today playing for the giants the giants and marlins went sixteen innings the giants won the indians one at the white sox five to houston which is rolling scored thirteen runs last night ten in the first couple of innings they're up seven one in oakland justin verlander in the sex seem safe host rochester tonight downtown seven oh five first pitch and world cup got underway in russia the host russian team beat saudi arabia five nothing there are more games tomorrow next update in thirty minutes stay connected to our shows get in on the conversation follow us on twitter at w g r five fifty he's disappointed in you know not really given christian the opportunity to go to camp like i said we felt we needed to add a couple of defensive linemen we ran out of numbers and that's not good at that position heading into camp sorry to get one guy ready right now let alone two and three bikaner cooks game is is moving up ej manuals and athletic guy he's made some strides but right now it's derek carr and it's wide open after that well i'd like to know a little bit more about that so jon gruden said the raiders ran out of defensive linemen and couldn't get christian hackenberg who they traded for three weeks ago through this part of their offseason because he was outranked by connor cook and ej manual that seems like a little bit of bad planning things can happen but isn't.

"The felix bodice story is breaking where it makes it sound like they they may need to really come up with the money guy to make the group may may need to find their six hundred and eighty million dollar guy too so we'll have to see on that did he scares the hell out of me because you'll recall in december did he was one of the first ones out of the blocks saying he'd like to own the team i will be the best nfl owner that you can imagine i will immediately address the colin kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year starting quarterback well boy that makes you root for him doesn't it so anyway that's the latest rumor the panthers are gonna lose the andrew norwell the all pro guard to jacksonville he'll sign the biggest contract for guard ever and starla to allay is heading to buffalo and you could figure that one out yesterday after buffalo traded their defensive tackle to cincinnati to move up to number twelve in the draft and you just kind of had a feeling of startling to lay was sitting right there with all the sean mcdermott and brandon beane and all all the guys that are basically carolina routes no starla tula lay who's probably underrated who blogs up the middle of the line allows short and all the other guys do their job doesn't have the stats just just takes care to guys every play so anyway as head off for which bums me out because it took me a season and a half a figure out how to pronounce his name you remember when we went to draft him and nobody could figure that out we're all tripping over ourselves i mean you know it's not an easy name to pronounce star after forty five minutes of listening to the other guys what did you learn the croatian government's debating about something i don't know i it doesn't apply to me news talk with actual news eleven ninety nine three wbz if you've got joint pain knee pain arthritis tennis elbow shoulder pain you've tried meds you probably tried steroids maybe you've.

"And preventing re kill uh and the resurgent deep arm of alex smith from ruining games and i i do agree with him based on what i saw the giants do the other day but i also think this you had so much success early on in this season with alex smith throwing the ball deep down fee if you had all that success and i think he's got a force it a little bit more and i found it ironic and a little bit troubling that their biggest attempted a deep ball the other day was actually thrown by travis kelsea and and it was intercepted by landing collins i think they have to get back to being that stretch the field team that basically terrorise the patriots and weak one can you make sense out of of what sean mcdermott is doing with his quarterback uh i can make sense of it for november twenty one i can make sense of it for april twenty one uh john all i can all i can say is that uh in in order sean mcdermott egg be uh e e e you know he's in it he doesn't think that he wants thai rod taylor to be the long term quarterback of the buffalo bills and even though he does give them a better chance to win today and tomorrow uh our event than peterman is i think he was very curious because peterman has lead so well in training camp yet pre season and in some practices uh and because he knows that uh that they've four picks in.

"And looked absolutely beer and their headlights abysmal and you gotta no tied rod taylor was chuckling a little bit when he came back in uh y you go i mean you're still on the cusp of it in a very competitive afc race uh can you really look team and say we're going to put peterman back in 'cause he gives us the best chance to win that that this is you know uh sean mcdermott himself in a very very difficult position right now coach it looks like case tinam continues to give the minnesota vikings chance to win how impressive you've been with with keen and and the entire vikings team to this point very you know and how can you not you know case keane admitted little bit it a little unfair and i'm got i can go to the front of the line of this in terms of looking at keeps keita masuda case came a certain way why because uh you know w what do we remember case keen them from bad that playoff run when he was a rookie which was not fair when he got thrown into the playoffs and really kind of a bug is pay grade didn't look particularly good and then obviously what he had to suffer through in st louis and then in la um and and that's the view we have a case in one hour gets was very good defense good the a team that and and the way he's playing smart football notwithstanding that the the the interception she's rude gets washington uh the you know minnesota is right there with bill adelphia and and and uh the rams kgb terms of being a complete team offense defense special teams and you gotta love the difference for minnesota right now is the un and and digs their ability they have not had that big play ability down the field that they do now so yeah you've got a live case is right now in the way as good as philadelphia and the ramps all right now you got to look at minnesota as being their equal and makes us a wide open field for the nfc playoff position.

"What the front office is doing again um we're in position to make the playoffs for the six e going into the uh yesterday game and sean mcdermott decides to start and untested rookie over tyron taylor when there are no weapons other than was sean mccoy to help out this this rookie and i'm just wondering what you think about all the mistakes that sean mcdermott is made i mean yesterday included the leading up to that wedding marcel doria's go uh leading uh one of the only offense of weapons go and fannie watkins and wondering if this is going to lead to an early dismissal of sean mcdermott i mean maybe not at the end of this season but you know rex ryan and the ad surly mike you got rid of woods as well i don't know why that you're replacing tyron taylor tyra taylor's not the problem you had an opportunistic defense that has folded melted in the last couple of weeks they've been crushed know you know peterman you want to see what you have i don't need to see what i have now unless i realized that i don't want tyron taylor back next year if you're to an eight i understand it but you're not you're in the hunt there i liked eirad taylor a lot and i think that they should let him do more or try to do more to force the issue a little bit there but he doesn't have weapons you got a great running back and you put in peterman and now mike floreal now we're talking about this last night and football night america you know is going to be in the market they're going to go after a franchise quarterback i think they just want to see what they have with peterman is he a backup quarterback does the potential to be a starter and i liked peterman coming out i did but thought he was going to be you know maybe a second or third round pick i thought that he had the feel great potential there but what we saw yesterday how do you i i guess jia putting back out there again i i have to.

"I they absolutely stole him from the new england patriots and consider this call on the price tag for jimmy garoppolo here is the same as a price tag wise for christian hack and bird new york jets social if this doesn't work out right like if this does not work out over the next seven or eight games and jimmy garoppolo doesn't turn out to be who they thought he was going to be one they traded form on october 30th you know what their sweat off their back they still have a topfive pick they can still go after car cousins so in essence they've simultaneously got up potential 10year answer the quarterback position and they've maintained almost all of their flexibility there as well last year they went with defense in the draft topthree picks now they get their quarterback okay so cam newton newton's best friend reportedly as kelvin benjamin and day they trade him and don't give cam newton a heads up but what's the messaging here what do you make of that well i think the first thing we have to recognize here the bills initiated this trade in that sean mcdermott brand and be knew this was a distressed asset in karelia this is a guy had obvious had the way issues before having performed up to his potential and they both new both brandon been sean mcdermott that calvin bedroom probably didn't have a future and carolina past 2018 so we take that into account the buffalo initiated this i think this is as much as anything else about carolina and where they're going offense have we not were they've been early in cam nunes career why did they do well they went and they got these big targets these receivers who could get down field and camden is a little at accurate early inner earlier earlier in his career so you get you give them those big targets we can get downfield when he's extending plays he can throw it up those guys can go up and get it.
