"Oh, OK. 80 on the offensive rebound by the beard and the next take a two point lead with 34 seconds to go holiday Well in battle of food Court 3 28 seconds to go. Holiday takes a lot of the basket bounces in the middle. The near side of the corner steps right, contested three. Get out. No good, hard, the rebound and that's it. The next Hang on. They beat the books 1 25 to 1 23 had a thriller here. Barclay Center. Chris Karina, with the call on the Nets radio network, and this is a good back and forth affair. I think a good gauge for both of these teams. Kevin Durant hits that Big three from the top of the key after what was an offensive rebound by James Harden and Durant ends up with 39 rebounds and six assists as he's got this new running mate ever since Curry went AWOL. One of the top teams and leave for the last 45 years and Got continuity on the roster. So it was good toe, you know, play against team That kind of, you know, has an identity already. And for us, it was. It was a good gauge for all of our guys and but we're not too excited about it. You know, he's got to get back to work tomorrow. You can underline it, But you know, we're not having any parades. We got a lot of work to do. We gotta clean up a lot on both ends of the floor. Like I said, You know, this is kind of a new group. No training camp. New look offensively and definitely new look defensively. Starr's car. You know, I'm excited to get him back. There is incredible basketball player to have him back in the building. Tomorrow will be exciting, and we'll start to integrate him and figure out a way to make this whole thing work. Kyrie. Irving has missed seven games for personal reasons. We haven't heard from him. Specifically there been kind of reports about what he's been up to, and what he's been doing their videos about what he's been up to and what he's been doing. The general manager Sean Marks has spoken to him. I do not know if Steve Nash has spoken to him yet, but as of late last week they hadn't had communication. Hard. It ends up with 34 points and a dozen, it says, as well as a half dozen rebounds, and he is all sunshine and roses. Now, all smiles and I want to bring in Bob Buesseler because he's closely connected to the Brooklyn Nets and does some play by play for them now and then on their radio network, Okay, and this is not a criticism. Bob, So I want to start out by saying it's not a criticism. Of Chris Carino and Tim Caps troll who do the Nets play by play, But I turned, I turned into the game. I prefer to hear kind of local broadcast that time so I can understand what the local perspective is. So I tune into the broadcast on Nets radio. And in the first quarter, they were touting the leadership of James Harden. Now again, this is not a criticism of them Good for them reacting to what they see, But all I could do was roll my eyes. Are you kidding me? So I get it that he's happy now, But this is the very definition of a diva. Right. You pout and you throw a temper tantrum when you don't get your own way. I'm sure in Houston, they don't think of him as a great leader. At least not right now. There was a confrontation with Which on wallet with some of his new teammates, because he's so badly wanted out of Houston and let everybody know it. I mean, come on. Now. He just flip a switch and he's gonna fool everybody I'm going to take. This is a leap of faith on my part. But Brian Lewis, who doesn't outstanding job covering the Nets for the New York Post. Wrote a piece about hardened over the weekend naming and it was. It was the other side of James Harden peace and in that piece, they talked a lot about how he is a gym rat, and how he leads by is one of those leads by example, guys now All that being said, and that's just, you know, kind of skimming what was a very positive piece about harden that all being said Everything you say is even Mork credible because we all know the history. So here it is. Here is their chance. I mean, Durant doesn't have to account for himself. No Kyrie Irving does And so this James Harden. And the three of them together could very well do it. And they've all spoken the right things up to this point, but so much remains to be seen. Why did there is real potential here? Sure, they if they can. Sublimate their personalities and work off of each other and harden. And Durant all beated two games. Are clearly clicking right now, but they're carrying the entire Yeah. So I saw a stat that they put up tonight. 84% of the Nets points slash assists since Harden again to day. Two games We're talking about 84 are Durant and hardened combined. Now you gotta work Irving into that equation. And the worst and, you know, eventually there's going to be a little bit of grousing among what is a pretty good group. But look, that's how it works. When other guys start seeing minutes and points diminish. Then you know, you know the resentment starts to settle in. But the potential here is amazing. And I circled back to your original point. Well, if of what has been said about hardened as a leader in terms of what he does, he's a basketball junkie. Much like Durant is And really studies the game and works hard on his game, and he's one these guys you gotta throw out of the gym and, yeah, he parties on the side, but he's it's never affected him. He gets to the post. That's one thing got to give him credit for. He doesn't miss game but it's not his basketball Bob. It's not the basketball part. It's the fact that it's so disingenuous for him to now talk about how excited he is and how much he loves to practice. And this and that and the maturity of the relationship with Katie when he did everything he could. That was the complete opposite of that. To get himself out of Houston. So now that he got what he want now he's happy. Great. I agree. I'm one of those. I'm with you. And in terms of listen, you know, make it work. Where you were. You signed a contract fulfilled it. Yeah, and take those obligations. Take him seriously. All right. Well, he's out now. So he's out, and now he got what he wanted. And now we're in the Honeymoon phase, you know? Okay, let's enjoy it. And it is enjoyable, but the real answers. We all know when those come on and I'll make the point again. It's going to be fascinating to watch. It really is, as we see that early on. You can see a glimmer of what's coming and we don't haven't seen Kyrie out there with him. Yet. This is it's really going to be fascinating to watch because, unlike some of these other super teams, This one. They're doing it in the New York spotlight, and that does that makes a difference as well. The spotlight Even though in the MBA, whereas everything these days in the MBA is magnified, no matter what market you're in. Still know you work means something in terms of that magnification. So I'm really looking forward to watching this unfold. Yeah, we'll see. I mean, it feels like it's gonna be all or nothing. I don't know that there's gonna be a whole lot in between that but we just healthy Bob, you start. We always appreciate your insight. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence, we're asking you to share without using your words. Your feelings about the recent NFL season of the season today, and boy your gifts and means are cracking us.

This guy was a character and had personality back when you were not supposed to have either of those things on the football field. It was all business all the time. Billy White shoes. Johnson is going to join us. He of the funky chicken back in the seventies and eighties, was one of the greatest special teams Ace returners in NFL history. Some believe they can. We've also got Lamar Jackson versus Josh Allen. Could that be the best quarterback matchup of the weekend? And Aaron Rodgers on a very interesting reason why he has taken his game to the next level. Perhaps quarantine was a good thing for him. But let's begin in Brooklyn, where the next now have their big three and it is official James Harden is a member of the Nets. And now we finally have The parts of the puzzle who are going to speak about the puzzle, namely the GM that pulled the trigger Sean Marks who came to the Brooklyn Nets to clean up the incredible mess that was left behind by Billy King in the previous administration, especially after that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett trade has done just about everything right? Sean Marks was able to very, very smartly and with savvy Absorb terrible contracts in return, Pick up draft picks in return Pick up guys that couldn't be afforded by their previous team, rehabilitate them like a D'Angelo Russell turned them into assets. And little by little by little build it back up to a very reputable organization. Also, he oversaw the construction of one of the best practice facilities and all of the MBA. So the Nets Struck it. Rich struck gold with Sean marks as their GM, but now his entire existence is on the line. Because there's no room for error here. Once you pick up James Harden to add to KD and Kyrie, Irving and you rip away all of the young pieces in all of the draft picks, you gotta win. And if you don't win and it implodes Then that's the blood on your hands. Let's face it. If this thing goes sour, Sean marks will be blamed and the Nets organization be back to being a punch line. The first part of that is these three stars have to buy in. That so much is on them. Reputations, legacies jobs so much is on them. They have to understand what's at stake, and they can't be immature or petulant or dismissive of their responsibilities. Do we trust that the Nets stars have bought into this idea? It is where we begin your cold Open. We've had conversations with him and he's so eager to get on the court. With these guys and be part of this and start fresh, so visit excitement. I know our group is excited at coaching staff is excited. I spoke to kind kid and yesterday as this was going down, getting their thoughts and really wanting to hear what the commitment was going to be what they conviction for this wasan and you know, I know, Joseph. I had the same conversation..
Kyrie Irving's absence from Nets will continue; NBA, Nets to review videos that appear to show party
"Talking a little bit about the situation with kyrie irving and the brooklyn nets just to highlight it. Kyri sorta went awol. This week ended up according to video at his sisters thirtieth birthday party. Without a mask he is going to deal with some covert protocol issues right now and there's really no explanation. Why he disappeared in the first place. Mike what do you do for with kyrie irving. Well simple if i was sean marks. Gm would call kerry in or text him or call him on the phone or whatever and asking plain and simple. Are you in as your heart in this or not. Yes or no and if he says yes and get your behind back here to work and let's go to work. This is unfair to your teammates and to the brooklyn fans. Either in or you're out one of you can't be halfway can't be you know we all have personal things to deal with in our lives. We all have to work through them. You know death sickness. Whatever but you gotta find out is are you in this year or not. Let me know now. Yeah i don't know if with that's an if he'd says no. I don't notice it will tell you what we'll just put your leave of absence. I'll try to do it without you. Do you really think re- ever knows his. He is one of the most ignites matic matic players in the league right. But you gotta find out just painted thirty-seven million bucks a year so you got to find out if he's if his heart's in it or

"All right, the Brooklyn Nets, the Brooklyn Nets, loyal boy, um So now we started getting a little clarity, at least in terms of where Carrie Irving is on baby more specifically where he will not be for the next couple of games, So hey, will not as per reports he has already been ruled out tonight. He's not playing tonight against Denver. He's not playing tomb or against the Knicks. The last game that carry Irving play was back on January 5th. They played three games. Since then Philly, Memphis and Oklahoma City. They've lost two of the three games. I know it's early, but they are tent in the Eastern Conference on Lee 11 games and I got you, but it's a 72 game season. So 11 games has waited a little bit differently, right? And what is Listen, Take? I just let me just chase right to the heart of the matter. I honestly and people ask me a lot like why do you scare so much about what Kyrie Irving does? And I never really felt that I had to actually respond to that. But I, but I think I do. I don't care what Carrie Irving does. I know he's a good dude. Yeah, I know He's not doing out there doing anything wrong being a detriment to society. But quite frankly, well, I don't care if Carrie Irving ever dribbles of basketball in the meaningful manner again. I really don't care if he comes back in the balls, then that's what we found to watch. If he retires. Great, whatever. There there'll be a mess, and Kevin Durant's gonna lament signing there. What I do care about this what I do care about And this is what I will always protect on this show. Because at the end of the day, I'm a fan. Even though I've been doing this for 20 years, I'm a fan and I must get transparency from organizations and I must, at the bare minimum get accountability from an organization and a player. Where I'm gonna ask again. If anybody has an answer, please send it to me. Where in the world is the Brooklyn Nets general managers. Sean Marks right now, Where is he? Instead? What they're doing is and it's such a disservice to the morale of the team. And to the way that Steve Nash is gonna be proceed. They keep trotting out a rookie head coach you swimming right now with this stuff. Steve Nash is a great player, not a coach yet. So he's got to deal with this nonsense before every game. But after every game Sean marks, even if it's a non answer. If you want to be a world class organization, which is something the Brooklyn Nets have stated, basically since they moved to Brooklyn. Then at the very least, you gotta tell us where the hell you store player is when he might be back. And what you gonna do about these absences? Well, I mean, what to do about the absence is the last thing you need to think they're going to worry about right now, because that's it Looks like the MBA might be taking care of that for him for them because Of the potential violations of league protocols. For those who missed this story, Kyrie Irving was seen partying via I don't know who put out the video. It was. It was his sister's 30th birthday Asia and it was a club and his dad's birthday to say she was a joint celebration up. So this is near US B T before it's a club. Or not, really a club. It's like a catering hall and event event venue venue called the Ballroom in West Orange, New Jersey. It's all documented. You can see it. This corroborated the Kyrie was there dancing with his sister, and, you know, despite all those reports that he's parting with Drake Bills and confirmed or whatever. No idea about that. No idea about that. But we do know that, you know, two days ago, Or maybe even yesterday he was partying with his sister, Um in West Orange, New Jersey, which is where he's from. So that by maybe violates league protocols because probably 30 people 2030 people. In that room. Lot of weren't wearing masks now probably was family so you could probably get around it. But it's the very least that it raises some questions about Tyree's. Desire because you're in the middle of the season, right? It's not like we're on a break or all Star break or something. This is the middle of the season, and he's the last thing it looks like it's on his mind is going to play basketball s. Oh, that's the first you gotta figure out career you've done with the game has made a ton of money. He could probably walk away and be OK for the rest of his life and get involved in some other things that he finds more interesting or passionate. But I think the first thing the Nets got answer is Hi, Rita. You would want to do this anymore because it seems like he doesn't. Yeah, and I'm okay. That's fine. That's great. He's earned that right, including that platform. He's a smart guy, you know, Um and is his view on the world is very deep and and maybe there's a greater calling for Carrie Irving. And that's admirable, but I mean, why would put his cut from Kevin Durant? I mean, I know that Kevin Durant said the right thing I know he's boys would Kevin Durant Kyrie, but I can't imagine that everybody on the team shares this sentiment from Kevin Durant, especially when you see this. This footage emerged that while you guys are traveling, get ready to play Good Nuggets team and get ready to play the Knicks and, you know, try to get all the season here. And you've lost two out of three. Carvery Irving is at a party. So here's what Kevin Durant said. Very short, Very sweet, But I can't imagine the entire net organization share made. Maybe I'm wrong. But here's Kevin Durant. I won't speak on Correa. I'll let him do that.
Brooklyn Nets Hire Steve Nash As Head Coach
"We are here. On the heels of a big announcement. Yeah. Steve Nash Future Hall of Famer. Future Hall. Of famer is the coach new coach of the Brooklyn Nets. What's going on listen I? Think it's it's it's a good. It's a good pairing with him and Katie. You know as well as anybody that there was a pre existing relationship Steve was a player development consultant for Golden State. He spent a Lotta time with Kevin Durant is I would talk to him over the years about his experiences. In golden state like not just learning from Steve Kerr and those guys who specifically he was working within. Golden State and it always Katie was always you know like one of the names that he said a lot what I thought he'd be working with the guard so that relationship and then you sean marks played with him in Phoenix. So there's a real. There's a real respect there as well. So I think it made a lot of sense.

"The development of Amari Stoudamire and how he? Elevated Amari. The joke was always think of all the guys who got paid contracts. WHO Steve. he didn't. Whether it was in Phoenix Jason Kidd in Brooklyn or in New Jersey the that that there was this something about that elite. Next Level Point Guard That day in day out. Really, did coach the group was it just as different with him is anybody who had been around? Absolutely everyone you get to that level of relief point, God's that's that's what they're known for making everybody bid and without a doubt stay was the head of the snake in Phoenix. Again. Had that incredible humility and the empathy for the entire group and was able to bring together and that's that's what he did. Their bigs. In he'll do the same same here with US yeah. Hey. Guys Goodyear believes that movement drives US forward that every mile travel brings us one step closer to our goals. But good you're also believes in the importance of arrest up and taking a breather to pause and reflect on the road at sometimes that's all we need to keep going a moment to compose ourselves before we start moving forward again. So as you get ready to start moving again, good years here to help visit goodyear dot com to learn more goodyear more driven shot. How much background have you done in sort of picking the brain? Others who have hired a head coach without coaching experience and how they put stabs around and how they supported him. was ready were you familiar like some intimate knowledge of some other situations? Have you gone out? During this and talk with people about that or is that something you do now once you get Steve on board. It's a combination of both obviously with a higher like this wasn't something that we were. To be didn't have the time to be running out there and doing a whole bunch of background on first time head coaches and so forth. I think it really. Relationship, with Steve Over. The. Years. Was a strong factor there. But. I think now it'll be up to Steve Steven Sean, the curiosity and the humiliation. To WanNA, reach out to to May these coaches who have found themselves in as a first time. See you know in that front a so he'll be reaching out time speaker I. Mean, that's a proven example, but you know he's not the first player and won't be the last flat to to Jump Straight into coaching at at at the highest level and I think we've seen. Numerous. Guys have a lot of success in it'll be up to us to now. Surround him with the right personnel off the court. But in his boss will I Q is off the charts and what makes him specialists is issue which are people gravitate to? Sean. So when the job opened, it was Steve who reached out to you and said Hey I think I might be ready to do this is that how it initially played out? Basically Yeah I mean we've had conversations again. Dating back years and years now because we're, we are close friends. and. We've picked each other's brains on a Lotta different scenarios. And not just honest to be as much as coaching However, this sweet, we always do together planets aligned with the families and so forth in this one, this one natural. It was certainly not fullest and and again, there was a different town was Steve I've seen since the last. Week or two this really. His approach pickup in his preparation. So this Has Been. Pretty impressive to be honest whereas he he's giving this is Biz shot and I think we do here but I think when he's willing to sacrifice you know some. Little livelihood that he has already and said look I, WanNa Drummer Heather here I want to give us a shop and I know what's Stike? No they'll be naysayers and so forth but. He's got our utmost support here with us. Shot, how important was it for you to be able? To put Stephen Place and then be able to keep Jacques von at the top of his coaching staff. Extremely important. I. Love the continuity that we have with with. Jacques Stein implies but I will say this, this is not only was it important to me but it was it was more to see. This was WANNA Steve's of I. Requirements of the job. I want to do it but I have seen how Jacques Coaches. You know I I know the person. Alec. Ford him knowing bidder. So that was lousy, just as much west Divas was as was myself and I think when you've got a good group and you know, we know we have a good tandem here it's going to be fun to watch those guys communicate in in container grows as a as a team. kyrie irving there probably isn't a pair of his in the League now who plays the position as creatively as he does as innovatively as he does. And S Steve Nash is certainly somebody who evolved the position changed it and. I wonder in your conversations with Kyrie, just his his intrigue with being able to. Maybe have kind of the high high level conversations and having a head coach who really understands. What it means to play that position the level. kyw replays at. One hundred percent right I think I look forward to I obviously won't be privy to all those conversations but I look forward to hearing or at least. Both Stephen Kyri. Get together and and really talk about law things and to be honest I think a lot of those things are not even on the court I. Mean they'll obviously share a lot of boscell experiences.

"Antonio and lets GM Sean Marks used to work in this person office. So inside you're offsides. Gregg Popovich will be the next head coach of the Brooklyn Nets off sides. I think that's a fantasy world. Cops. Last job's going to be in San Antonio Spurs. I would think he's gonna be back with the Spurs next year. Who's going to be coaching the Nets? I would probably guessed. Hi, Luke. And I would rather have Greg Popovich than Tyler. But it seems like Tyler is going to be the guy not saying that Katie and Cary don't like Gregg Popovich, but I would think they would bring in someone who's a lesser name. Still a championship winning coach. I give LeBron most of the credit for winning that Tyler just what happens when you play play with LeBron or play Brown place for you? That's just the way that it goes. But I would be surprised Pop in Brooklyn. I get the show on Mark's connection and all that. That one would surprise me. It would be a good move, though, for pop. Get back in the championship contending picks. You're not going to another championship with San Antonio Spurs with a team that you have right now, if you go with the Nets Maybe a coach for another 345 more years. Who knows? And if Cady and Kyrie could be healthy, your in the championship contending picture? Yeah, listen, a spot to get to the finals in the in the Eastern Conference. Is the Bucks biggest competition next year. Most likely will be the Brooklyn Nets. And wouldn't that be something Mikey B. Would be all going nuts going crazy. Spurs won speed the Nets in the finals. That was the Admiral David Robinson's final game. And then pop who was coaching That team ends up coach of the Nets and maybe wins a championship of Brooklyn. Mikey B. Would like that. Unfortunately for Mikey B. I don't think it's gonna be the coach next year offsides. Los EIN number. Los Angeles Dodgers left hand pitcher David Price became one of the latest place to opt out of the 2020 season without his decision on Saturday for a message posted on social media accounts. Now, the Dodgers have said a full support price decision, said the season Have to go back to remember. The Dodgers acquired price along with after the movie bets as part ofthe season share with the Boston Red Sox. So insides are offsides. The Dodgers will represent the NL in the World Series. Here's my question to you. If I say the Dodgers don't get to the World Series, Who's the team? In the end all that you like? I know the Braves just lost Markakis. And Freddie Freeman has the Corona virus Nationals tough to expect him to repeat again. They don't have rent don't anymore, but they solve a very good pitching.

Kyrie, KD and Company: The Evolution of the New Brooklyn Nets
"Right now the nets are one of the more star studded teams in Bass ball this summer they went out and signed Kyrie Irving Kevin Durant De'andre Jordan and while Katie's not playing this year they are still seen as contenders but back in twenty six eighteen when coach Kenny Atkinson I came on board what did this team look like it was just a lot of hope and nothing much to base it on they won twenty games his first year they didn't win a game in February and they honestly really didn't have any genuine cowan right they traded for aging vets Paul Pearson Kevin Garnett well it's funny billy king and broker off before them decided to put all their chips in and give away all of the future first round picks and it was one of the most lopsided deals in history it's one thing right to have young players and not a lot of games I think we call that tanking but they couldn't even do that because they weren't even eligible to get the draft picks to draft picks we're going to the Boston Celtics who are picking guys like Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum with those picks so nets were behind the ball then when they hired a new GM Sean marks at twenty six teen what was his approach well Sean was just he's just so smart in Kenny's the same way they were really stuck on what's our culture going to be we're going to play unselfishly it's going to be a player I organization we're going to see solidifies player performance and so you need the right kind of player to buy into that now you know a guy like Joe Harris who had an accomplished anything yet of course he was gonNA buy in but that's why they stay away from some of the veterans because they were afraid they wouldn't they just felt it was really important to establish that foundation as they went forward here so this culture that the nets were establishing it was markedly different from the rest of the NBA it wasn't a it was revolutionary but they just took it to another level check out the Brooklyn practice facility it's the nicest one in the league it's cold tubs hot tub store eight of the yard pools to help with conditioning there's a rooftop that has the most magnificent view of the New York skyline they wanted to make their facility so attractive that guys would want to stay there every day if you come in let's say it's a practice day you'll get a text the night before and they'll say okay your table time is it was just say eight thirty in the morning so you go to your table and they have a physical therapist there they have a massage therapist there and they say what hurts wouldn't you love that Meena I I'd love table time how do I get how do I sign up in my own home and so you get twenty minutes thirty minutes they work on whatever's bothering you whatever hurts and then you go into the weight room for about a half an hour then you go onto the court for individual one on one work can last up to forty five minutes so you've already spent two hours at the facility you and you haven't even started practice yet so that is a little different than other places so the nets debuted this very distinct culture right there really rebuilding because ravage the roster was when does it start to work obviously really wasn't working that first year the you know the Andre Jordan told me Oh yeah you know I remember going in there and thinking wow these I play hard I mean we're GONNA kill them they're gonNA play hard and you know so the second year it got a little better and I think really it was last year they started to see some of the it's Joe Harris led the league in three point shooting percentage last year and all of a sudden all this work and this culture seemed to kick in a little bit they won forty two games way ahead of schedule I don't think Shaun Kenny expected to make the playoffs within three years but that's what happens Brooklyn which is a playoff spot they had not made the playoffs in eight of the last eleven years you know Kenny Atkinson's reputation has off the charts in his time there because even players who leave like jared Dudley Demari Carol tell everybody yeah he works hard but man is he all about you and then the same thing has and was Sean marks they they put the players I and in this day and age is there anything more than an NBA player wants to hear then we're GonNa put you first what do you need so the nets establish their own culture and their teams increasingly competitive at the same time what was going on with Kyri Katie and De'andre so Jordan and durant and Kyrie we're all on the two thousand sixteen Olympic team in Rio they were on a boat a cruise liner vote was quite elegant an open pool asana several dining rooms a cigar bar because every NBA player needs that twenty four hour room service beds that especially made for seven foot basketball players K. D. in Jordan we're already really really super tight in fact I think right before the Olympics they went and got tattoos together Vegas to prepare for the Rio Games now durant had great respect for Kyrie's game but he didn't know him that well so they get to real remember coverage just hit that big shot to beat the golden state WARRIORS PUTS IT UP precooked Cleveland is and Kyrie was tired along year he made the big shot so he wasn't really invested the way durant wanted to be and he said something to him he challenge him and you know Durant told me the other day that the way kyrie responded which was favourably and positively said Yep you're right I gotta give you more was at the beginning of their bond so one of their last night's real lincoln drinks at one of the many bars and lounges on that ship and Kyrie said you know we should do this for real Indiana Georgia's civil what do you mean he said we should all play together so the groundwork for these three players playing together is laid on this vote outside Rio three years ago what happens is summer how do they finally come together well that's a good question they say that they all go on a conference call and say hey let's do this then with Katie and Dj was you know four sixteen in the morning us just talking about our futures and later on that day we just decided hey we're just going to break this like we're doing this another that's what they have to say because tampering would be at work I do believe member of the very famous view I think you and I talked about together on around the horn talking in the tunnel after the All Star game in Cairo whispering to each other and the tunnel yeah being lip read by some of the op the breeders in the world I bet that's what they were talking about this there's no doubt my mind they were texting all the time these guys text a lot they weren't touch with one another I'm sure it was in the works for a while I don't know if we'll ever know that for sure just because of how tampering works in the league

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving Join the Brooklyn Nets
"You're welcome number one yeah you could last a yeah all of that and i think it's the best of both worlds you come into new york you've got a good core you got a good young core you're in new york but you're in brooklyn you can still do you're business you got indoors because everything is everything think about the fact that your devils in the nets fan now they're hard to find those those type of fan couple of weeks about the last month for you guys you're right now they gotta do it on the floor and they ice though sure but you're right you're absolutely right so i listen it's irving in the andre jordan thing it's really amazing all three of them how fast it happened oh by the way so how does this work exactly you can't talker meet with teams until six pm on will take it how much we get yeah i'm of course obviously this stuff was all set up but isn't it funny we had the conversation on friday you asked me do you think anybody's gonna sign right at six i know everyone how at four am round i signed i know who is unbelievable there's also this whole thing so ridiculous that none of this stuff is it's official until what six six saturday right now stupid mbh rules silly on the knicks did sign a guy who punched out his teammate and broke his face so welcome bobby portis rj barrett don't piss them off like dude like the fact the big big joke on the social media with the knicks in a randall and portas another one and i got a what's his face so taj gibson hodge gibson also by the way reggie bullock and they find him in the middle of the night to i i didn't see that but i saw the first three they're they're all the same position that was the big jerry you know dnb eight organization list now i guess it is i mean it's definitely a different game i bet i guess we just assume co i leonard had no interest rate 'cause they can't even afford to pay now i wanna know you there's no way no he wasn't good at that that to me is probably more so than kyrie and kevin durant going to the nets it's the fact that it didn't seem like any bano one nobody was even interest it doesn't seem like it like you would think a guy like kemba walker kemba walker would say hey you know i could be the face of the knicks any wasn't interested or i mean any of these jimmy butler going all right you know i could be v man in new york nope that's what everybody wants to play at the garden tobias harris along i arrived they they won't you wanna play in the garden in another uniform right foot up fifty is what they wanna do which is what they always do i guess they concern going forward is like if the knicks don't build a team through the draft will any body body of significance wanna sign with that it's bad man i mean this is like that's the perception about this whole thing that's the worst part nobody wants that well nobody of significance not other guys took the money in their here 'em but phys dale and perry they got they got their work cut out for him you know they have the try to do what atkinson and sean marks of don't the nets and they have a chance with the young core that they have right now they better season a building season next year all of a sudden next they become more appealing i would think rj berets gotta be a star that's what has now he has to be a story campaign swing and miss feeling she's everything if he's a star the whole spiel around the team in any changes sucks right now kevin durant's tolling or anthony davis i know i think we i think what makes it a little less painful today's we kind of knew as the debt for the last couple of weeks it felt like i felt friday saturday they were momentum building that perhaps they were switching their thoughts and that kyrie in the rams are gonna end up with the next that's what i would start in a raid near yeah and i started to wonder high wall maybe and then all of a sudden you have except remorse or do you think that they knew this you know there's an al buying a car i think they've actually done the research and i know i think they known all along this one of their destination i told you that charles oakley kevin durant instagram post was the worst of the knicks news that would be a you know waves coming in the knicks after i saw the two of them arm in arm in a restaurant is everybody knows evan roberts sleeping in a he posted at eleven pm that he couldn't sleep you were so excited wani emmy posted still up you're one of those we did it again yeah i don't know but he does have a short on yes he did by the way say that he wasn't so sure about the ranting heat in really well because there's lament like he just felt like his whole life it's never happened so he wasn't gonna get himself all jacked up and he's gonna relaxed he's gonna end up going to the knicks some kind of resigned to the fact i didn't i when i talk to me it was more like he was he was worried about the injury in stopping him and joe on same page with granting he posted yesterday gonna go to city field away for they nouncement that he's going to the knicks yeah which is kind of what he was exposed safer forever and for those of us who do have some similar fan bases are part of similar fan base is like the mets we we put quite possibly could have the rookie of the year and the batting title winner yes absolutely over the last time that happened in both all stars i made false false i mean that's unbelievable i tell you after what the mets just went through and what the knicks just went through i mean i had two teams die within a couple of days one another

"Whether it's services, whether it's making lots of things easier for them that are away from the course, they can just focus on basketball. Versus and accountability. That's gotta be there. Is there a fine line between those two things. Yeah. Absolutely. And again, I think it goes back to you know, the goal here is you know, we're boss bowl team. But we're developing young men, and I think from my time with the Spurs when I lift there was I bit about the plant Cher. But I know for a fact I was a bit of person because of my time spent around that group of guys that coaching staff that front office because how they developed me as a young man, and it was a pleasure to be around. So that's the type of player care that we want to bring in here. Now, that's not saying we're just going to let you know all the fifty seventeen guys, you know, run, right? And do whatever the heck they want. But part of it is about educating them on why we make certain decisions and involving them in those decisions, and that can be simple things to to the family room dynamic to traveling on the. Team plane with with a gift to spouses, significant other. At certain times of the year to some of the hard decisions will you sit down. And you know, we've had you know, when you've done, you know, a dozen trades and so forth over the past couple years. You're going to have to sit there, and you're gonna be really cognizant that we've got a young group of guys that it's not a revolving dole. But guys are having to come in and out, you know, and that's not easy when they see one of their peers, you know, traded to another team in new guy coming in. So you've got to sit down and explain here. Look, this is why we made that decision. This was you know, the organization made this because of its wines educating them the same time, we will know, it's a business. I can relate to them on that standpoint. You know, I was traded. I've been in the league I was a junior, and I've been around move my family more times, I'd like to count, but you know, I can at least speak the same language as those guys. And I do understand those stress levels that they're going through you, listen if you. Samples there. Whether it's how the family room dynamic works or traveling on the team plane among all those things you mentioned, what's the one like most constantly have to explain or what's one that. You always have to go back to and say, listen, this we have this in place because of this but guys keep coming back on. But like why can't it just be is there one? Yeah. I don't know if there's just one I think the family room dynamic. I think when you explain to the players like this is your wife significant. Others uncles brothers sisters. That's this century. It's their way that during a game. They can come in that can drop the kids off the nanny that can sit down, relax. They wanna come out to the game. Support you terrific, if they don't, and they wanna have the camaraderie, and their amongst, you know, the other significant others that are having to sacrifice the same things that that your wife significant is going through that's an important deal. Don't break that don't ruin that. You bring somebody in there that may be a fourth degree cousin or so you're not really sure if that's really just a friend and those that sacred that's sacred ground right there. It's the same thing with locker room, you know, at at the training facility that is the players space, and I've lived enough seen it. They could be nothing worse. Than me will through that locker room. Kenny wants to walk through. That's that's a little bit different. But even he gives them the space far office. We don't touch that. That's because they have all the freedom of the wheel to be in that locker room. You know, token each other at how bad a job that shown doing and I'm totally fine with that. They're that's their spice to do that into Vint into to really formula that trust amongst each other two things there..

"And it's not just on the courts. It's the stuff that's physically the performance team is putting out an house of Swick with into saying. Hey, look, this is this is where you can improve doing XYZ and. To be honest. Those guys have bought in. And you gotta give players the credit because they're the ones that have done it. You know, they're the ones of sitting there and putting in extra work and coming on days off, and and and taken that. The ownership in their own. I guess acceleration. Coming back from whether it's an injury from being forgotten about and so forth. And then you've gotta garlic Joe Harris who sits here and says, look, I wanna resign with Brooklyn. And I'll I'll take five less to do. So so, you know, that's that's something. That's not forgotten about, you know. And I think that was that was great to have one of our first guys sit here and say, look, I appreciate what you guys have done from top to bottom. And I'd like to kind of see this thing through with you guys. And I'll stay fillets show when you're especially at the beginning of this. And you're the leader. Now, you're the general manager you're in that seat. And everybody organization is looking to you about like, and I think one thing I always sent you say I don't wanna hear about. We don't have like we're not gonna just keep making that excuse. I'm not gonna complain about it around here. We're going to get to work, but especially early on how conscious we're you of like, you knew you're going to go through some dark times to get out on the other side with some light. Where every day, you just in your mind. I've got a set the tone around here of how we're gonna produce this because we're just not gonna walk around here talking about what we don't have and making, you know. Was that something you had to think about maybe more at the beginning? You know, I think it's definitely something you think about the beginning. But you think about all the time because there's always going to be those moments. I mean, look at I last couple of games, right? We were man. Could we have been the pelicans or well what a good showing against Golden State, again, nobody wants to sort of moral victories. Or how gosh how close you guys came per se. But you know, may like everybody else that works within the Brooklyn nets. There's just not we don't want an excuse driven culture. There's nobody knows feel sorry for us. We're going to feel sorry for each other. And I think we're going to have to find things along the way to celebrate the small wins, and those things can come in any form or fashion. But along the way, it's. You know, it's it's developing young men you're seeing like a carousel avert coming into his own. You're seeing Jared Ellen sort of eyes wide open, and you know, here he is listen I do belong in the league. Look, I can be a big factor here. The the summa workout program that's been play lead with Demari carols the first guy back in the gym fall. Dangelo Russell guys saying, I look I wanna get better. I know I have to do this and to succeed, and it's those they don't making excuses for each other. So whistling hold, you know makes uses for them, and they should build a hold us accountable. Just like we held the players accountable. Visit de ngelo Russell. And and what was in your mind, you and Keniakin sin sort of the plan, you tried to put into place for the Angelo. He comes over and number two pick with the Lakers. A lot happens in those first couple years where he's figuring things out in the NBA. But talent was a mistake. Everybody saw that. And what was your thought about? Here's what the ngelo needs from us. Here's what we can give them. And then and then where you see it now. Well, you know, one thing I learnt from dies with San Antonio is this there's a need for. Tough love and some honest conversations. I think the players I think this generation appreciates that the look for holes, and they'll look for cracks in the armor per se..

"One thing that you tried in a couple of different years in the restricted for agency market. You had the offer sheet for Allan crab, and then you end up trading for crab over your later and offer sheet without a porter Washington matches and he goes back there. And I think you discuss some other mothers that didn't necessarily come about that being on the side of the process. You are where you're signing a player to a big offer sheet is there anything more it doesn't necessarily inspire. Lot of goodwill around the league. Right. There's gotta be some like your stomach is like all right. Like, man. They're gonna be pissed. They are Pinson you just have to deal. It's not it's not really a pleasant processes it. No. It's definitely not a pleasant process. However, that's the nature of the beast. You know, and I think if the tables were turned, and I was sitting here, you know, and I had all these first round draft picks franchise plaza and everything else going, and you know, and somebody else was going to. Drop off sheet on one of my guys. Well, that's that's the nature of the beast. How do we stop this from happening? How do we how do we want guy to sign with us? If we wanna met badly. I will say this. I won't name the guys, but I had to hall of fame presence from other teams come up to me after one of the office sheets. You know, we we run successful. I'm giving the office sheet. But then later on down the road, and they gave some pretty encouraging words, I would have done exactly the same thing. They throw a couple experts into. But it was great. I mean to me, and I look up to these guys. I could. Wow. Okay. Look if they've gone out of their way to tell me that I don't feel too bad. So. Player development, Sean like an essay some guys who guys almost getting like a second wind in their career. And can you find those guys Spencer Dinwiddie player like that who think injury coming out of college probably drafted lower than may have gone bounces around a little bit. It's healthy. And all of a sudden like finds himself with organization, you could see him getting better, and you guys will cycle through so many guys. Here comes to Spencer Dinwiddie. Here comes Joe Harris. And Joe Harris guy resigned Spencer Dinwiddie is a guy that I think the right circumstances you you'd like to keep is a part going forward. Those to me like when you're rebuilding. You've gotta find some of those guys. Yeah. And it's getting hotter. And how to do that? You know? I mean, the world is coming small small, smaller and. Every team is looking for the same sort of little diamonds in the rough for the Rick Lamasion projects or whatever you wanna call them. So we're we're certainly fortunate the two guys you mentioned Spencer, Joe Harris, very fortunate to have those two guys on a team, you know, the boredom hook line and sinker to everything we're about from a development phase..

"And we're always curious about high could we've done something bid. Could we have done this differently? What could we have done differently? What are the team's doing other franchises doing out there? Sean, you you mentioned ownership, and there's a transition undergoing here over some period of time to Joe Cy who has now bought in as a minority partner may become more than that over time. How much do you deal with him now with what's been like building a relationship with him? And getting a sense of what he could ultimately be like is an owner down the road for the nets. Yeah, I'm not sure when that transition ultimately will will take place, and the and the full foam fashion, but at the end of the day, it's been it's been great to get to know Joe and his family and the group that he has around him. I think we're very fortunate to be honest. We've got Michael who's done being an amazing ONA so far out of love learning a lot from him. I mean, you know, when you've got the these business tycoons like, Michael. And Joe here, I'm learning a lot from them how they're conducting their business their daily business, which is great. And then Joe will bring a different dynamic. You know, he'll bring a completely different market to the table. You know, when he complete completes the transaction and takes over and that to that'll that'll be terrific to come into that China market and so forth. So but continually keep these both Joe in Michael Nick groups up-to-date they've shown a mazing patients and buy in and Tim's of what we're trying to build here and what we're going about. So it's great having everybody on the same page from top to bottom..

"You guys do on free agency and understanding not only who's available, but what it is that players want. What aging? I want you have the New York market. You're in New York. That's helpful history has shown it doesn't just give you anything like you'd like history. Shown guys are just going. But if things are right. It's more attractive like all the work. You guys put in you have found out. What is it? We need to show people to convince them that this place makes sense for them. What would players want? Do you think? Now in is it any different than what it used to be you sort of touched on the market, and I think now with with social media and so forth the market. May not be quite as big as it. Once was however, you know, there's nothing like planning, you know, in Brooklyn, New York, the allies the differences, we will have the money. We will have the spice this year. So it'll be interesting for us. I think for one thing that we're trying to show is. And it's it's been written about speech said that guys compete guys compete on nightly basis, and that's going to be really important because whatever free agent is looking at you. Whether it's this year next year five years from now, nobody wants to come to a situation with think man, I'm gonna have to carry this load. They can look and say look who the young guys I play who can take something off of who'd I wanna play with what's the system that I like to plan and people love playing for Kenny. You know, he's a player's coach. I've said it before the Swidnik witty that is put in is remarkable, you know, and that's I could you mentioned before I could walk into facility close my eyes. And there's work being done. And that to me, I'm very proud of that. I love the fact that all coaches are out there in putting that sweater guys getting bitter guys improving, and that doesn't matter if you're nineteen or twenty like our young guys or or your twenty nine thirty like some older guys. Can't he's always been about like, you know, how can the staff here? Maximize your potential hukou. We take what we saw in you an had this little bit your game. And I think your players have smart. They realized like I look I go there. I'm gonna get better when you took over in the job and the nets really I mean, we're in a. Historically, low place based on not just the roster and cap situation and all those things, but just know picks going out there hadn't been anybody in that situation. How do you think the rest of the league viewed whether it was agents in wanting to have their players in Brooklyn or feeling like you said, it's a place where a player can increase value. What was your sense of how the organization was viewed? And you said I've gotta show them differently. Well, that was one of the things I when I when I came in here, and obviously came in with group a lot of people believed in their pushing me there. Inspire me everyday. It's not just in different me in a corner office making these decision. I think everybody coming in here having that little bit of a chip on their shoulder embracing the challenge. Nobody's gonna feel sorry for the Brooklyn nets. Nobody's feel sorry for any other. Pro franchise, we're real competing against each other. I think the. Proof is going to be in the pudding at the end of the day. When we sit there and say look scouts one heck of a job, they they found this particular kept people did a heck of a job because of all castrated this particular deal of that deal or help us acquired this draft pick, you know through taking salary or whatever it might be. So there's a group of people that have all bought in to this and the feedback that I've had has been really positive from agents from players they see that, you know, the Tide's turning and this being changed. But having said that there's absolutely no way we're going to sit here and go, you know, what? We're good cultures. Good. We're we've developed plas- we've done off from from Kenya standpoint. And the and the hull grew we know we have a long long way to go..

"You're sort of finally coming out of this period. Where you've just like everybody else, your record, whatever your records going to be is what picks going to be. You know, if you're losing record. You're in a lottery, if you're in the playoffs, you're just like, you know, you're not swapping picks. You're not gone. You're you're just you're back in the real world. Right. I would feel a little bit like you're back in the real world. Yeah. I mean, it's nice to have the pick BAC. Obviously, you know. I think group has done a nice job of being very creative of the last couple years and an ownership group, and I conclude the ownership because they're gonna have to have patience to say. By the way, we're gonna have to take on that salary or the celery do things that may not help the win loss record. But the end of the day it's going to help us get that twentieth. Pick that ends up being care. Sliver at the twenty second pick equals, Jared L and so forth. So, you know, it's nice to see toolbox not necessarily full. But at the end of the day. It's back to on pie with with some other people. You talk about that process of you know, there were teams with space who over the last few years. There was almost as your competition with there's teams who want to get contracts off and to do that they've got incentivize with a pick. And let's say there's three or four or five teams at any given time who are or sometimes less who are in the position to you're only shading against each other about what it's going to cost to take on that contract, and for how much money is it worth how much money going out is a maybe two seconds worth is a first round pick. That's in the late twenties. Like, you were in a constant state of evaluating that like how much goes into and how much just in the end instinct about what the market will bear. Like, what makes sense what's the right price? And I guess you never know. I think one of the things, that's that's. Only helped us, and we'll we'll hopefully continue this well into the future here's maintaining flexibility and not, you know, skipping steps and jumping the gun here little bit. So every team has its own. Costs matrix and say, this is what it's going to cost this. This is the cost of acquiring that guy. And we'll we'll we'll do it. Expects and so forth. For us. You know, I think with a coaching staff that has been has proven that development is what they're really really good at. I think that's an abled us to say, look, let's try and take on this young buck. Maybe people have forgotten about or take on this. And let's put them in here with coaching staff and see what they can develop them. Let's get him back out. Let's see. There was something special. There few years ago is is there's still a lot of the end of the tunnel. And I think the performance team has done or remarkable job with that as well. So you mentioned cares liver and people are starting to see him develop into the player you hoped. He'd be. And it was like you trait. Thaddeus? Young to Indiana. You get the twentieth pick my sense was you were targeting Lavertu. And again of lever is healthy Michigan. You probably have no chance to get him twenty. And that's what you're making. But we've got to get this guy. Healthy we've got to believe. That foot injury. And I think he had the same doctors brook Lopez. So you had some some understanding they're medically right? But like a lot of things sort of fall in the place in decisions are made to get that pick to take some risk on that player that again would have clearly been in the lottery if not for maybe some of that uncertainty, and then you see him now, he's becoming what you'd hope a lot. Gotta go into that for cares to be here. One hundred percent. And I think the first full most is, you know. We've to outline executive you just said that ownership look, we're gonna take a guy the twentieth peck and likely he may not play for year, or he's going to be it's going to be a slow road to getting him back and to have that type of patience and to maintain that flexibility. With what Michael you're bored into was was terrific..

"He's making soul food for us team outing, and then we'll deliver you back here. So he understood what what breaking bread together minutes long before it was sort of maybe fashionable and so forth. But. Those moments where you could get the team together outside of the court, which trust really formed those special times this Golden State team, Sean, and you're you're watching them, and it's just listen, you're competing against them. So you're not sitting there watching it like a fan, but there isn't appreciation for listen, the talent level and how they play together and how they share and how guy steps that are front guy steps back seemingly willingly when you think of the Spurs teams championship teams you around in the mid to thousands, and really I think at the prime of Tim Duncan's career mono job lease career. Does that one you'd be really curious about that Spurs team, and how was constructed how played and this warriors team? That'd be a heck of a match up to see those those teams go at it. But I think there's a lot of similarities from obviously the ties to pop and coach Kerr Steve over there and probably the way they're conducting business outside of the court. And how they're developing young men. That was always a big pot of what pop was was about in San Antonio. I really think it's interesting to see how the superstars on each. One of those teams are willing to sacrifice and you've seen in the media. You've read the clips of, you know, Steph curry, for instance, assaying, I look I'm I'm out here having fun. I don't mind a school thirty or a school forty or fifteen as long as we win. They're all about the same goal of the end of the day. And that's what it was like in San Antonio as well where you had guys willingly take a backseat. Tim duncan. I could be the best pal. Photinia play the game and say are on tonight's your night. Oh, tony. It's you're not vice versa. So when guys are willing to sacrifice for the common goal of the end of the day. We're going to go down as one of the winning teams in history that should be the goal that's hard to come. By you mentioned mono, all and I've seen mon- retired this off season. I wonder sometimes of mono gets the credit. He deserves for the impact he had how much he can people talk about sack. Sacrifice in a league. And it's all relative, but from going to whether it was going to the bench and that six man role really relatively the prime of his career. And all the things he did. And how he played in the way the spirit he brought to that group. And let's a talent level that was all NBA. I wonder if like because when people look back at the numbers, they go all the the scoring like, I mean, Tim is Tim. But after Tim, it's hard to imagine the sustained success, and how you know Mani was still impacting winning at forty years old. Yeah. I mean, simply put I would say, no, he doesn't he doesn't get the credit. Now, I would say this when he did announce his retirement what stood out to me was if if you're you're following all his peers posts and so forth, the outpouring of appreciation for what did from other NBA players was astronaut, Michael. And the impact that he's had on all today's athletes that that'll stand the test of time and guys tried to emulate his game. And still are they know they felt him up close McMahon that guys that's a fierce competitor there. And he could do stuff on a boss that not many people could. And then you look at. There was probably an eighteen months span. They were you could make the argument that he was the best player in the world. That's going on a limb. But when you've won multiple championships, you wanna will championship and you want Olympic gold medal. Not many people can say I did that. And I did it all and eighteen months. What he what he did with Argentina's national program to win a gold medal in the Olympics. I don't know if we'll ever see anything like that again, and he will aren't talking to Coby Bryan about this about mine was international impact and Kobe's respect for obviously competing against them at high school, the Spurs. Remember talking to Kobe about just willing program?.

"Hey, everyone. Welcome in to another edition of the woods pod. Here in our studio today, a guy from Brooklyn crossed the bridge to bridges today. Sean marks suppleme- Chea. Thank you. Nice to be here. You live my supposed to give away where you live is in your bio is in your media guide cannot say where you live people be trick or treating whether it be looking for you live in Connecticut. What's that commute? Like, there's no easy way to get the Brooklyn. Always you I, but when we've got we moved from obviously San Antonio couple years ago with four rambunctious boys growing little men, actually, you know, they're looking for for space Yod and so forth. So that was an easy transition to there. But you know, I ended up spending multiple nights down in Brooklyn. Anyway, just with the nature of the beast that is the lifestyle. So I was in Brooklyn last night for your pretty close loss to. Golden State, and I would think Sean like if a couple years ago where you guys words at team and building in if someone said like Durant and curry are gonna come into your building. They're gonna go off thirty seven and thirty six each and somebody say, yeah. But we'll be fighting into the last minute or two of the game that bad, right? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know that you want a necessary. Celebrate moral victories per se. But I do think the case of where we're at a little life cycle. We've gotta take positives away from from from everything we encounter, you know. What are we learning from that? What are we taking away from that? And the chance for young guys to sit there and measures themselves. I mean, what a great measuring stick you're playing. It's potentially one of the greatest teams living put together. So it's kind of a throw last night. You guys had to me like this is you know, three plus years here. Now you've learned like there's always a little tweak in that goes on. The nets have always done a little bit with the Knicks. And so hey oak Charles Oakley's in the building last night. Probably more welcome in Brooklyn than he is the garden. Now, he gets up on your video board. And you know, it's like just like any other maybe ex players celebrity pseudo celebrities that goes to the game you put them up there in a time out. And then there's oak in all his but only in his Toronto highlights. So I'm sure somebody in marketing probably had to run it past you guys. But but Oakley you had to have crossed with him your rookie year. He was in your rookie in the league. Yeah. Your teammates. Yeah. It'd be a rookie with Charles Oakley. Well, we were more than just team. I saw I was I was his rook. So. He had me under his wing his big wing. And that was really one of my first encounters an into like, this is how you conduct yourself both on and off the court. And he was terrific still is I mean, we're still friends and still catch up every now, and then and I'm glad to say, he's always welcome and a games. So that was great to say, it was a different NBA wasn't when Charles Oakley ruled with fear toughness, like what would oak like in this NBA the way the games played them. You know, what I think is his game would translate for sure. Because you know, he started his career progressed Toronto he was knocking down threes and so forth. Talk about how vital the three bullets these days. But then tangible things that the child. You're to the locker room. He he was brutally honest wasn't afraid to get in play faces staff. Spices and coal him out. Not only when it was necessary though. And I respected that you have to bring it when you're around, you know, and he was not a guy that he understood the culture, you know, he was the first, you know, obviously, I was a rookie. But. I show up to a shop to Cleveland, and they'd be limos outside the outside the Ritz and say look limos coming to pick us up. We're going with my grandma's house or cooking. He's cooking..

"All about, signing free agents as Sean marks has shown you you have given yourself more rule to blow it up if this doesn't. Work it's not and I haven't? Even mentioned well can the raptors. Win. This year I haven't. Gotten, to, that yet I'll get to. That but just looking at. If things go wrong the ramifications of the steel terrible the pick they, traded, is protected that's another thing okay so. They dealt eight protected first. Round. Pick which I'm pretty sure is going to. Go to San Antonio this year because the raptors are going, to be pretty good so what have you, given up you go nuts over. Jaka poodle look you didn't give up oh. Gee you didn't give up CRM you didn't. Give up vanfleet so you've kept the core of what was really good bench and essentially oh by the way they edit Danny green, I should point this out okay so you add a piece like Danny green You had coli Leonard whose. Flat out better than the Marta rose on when he's playing and if, Colli, wants to play whether relieves are not. The raptors have a chance. To. Win the east Florida they have a chance East And considering how rotten this team has looked in the postseason they needed to do something. Bold this is the definition of Boll and what I love about. It unlike the net mess from years ago is there isn't any long term. Risk what's the long term? Risk you lose. Coli you've eliminated the derozen. Contract I love the straight for the rap is I really. Do and that's not saying they're going to win the NBA title this year Because again always. Look at the worst case scenarios and the best case scenarios well the best. Case scenario is Colli goes? To Toronto they. Win the east and he. Wants to stay there long term and if that's the case. Great you've got a letter for the next half a decade that's great That's a win I am admitting off the top he probably won't stay even though things can change, based on Paul George in the, way this league works but even, if he leaves you would admit? That the raptors we're gonna probably have to go into a rebuild blow it up mode anyway it is easier to. Blow it up with Rosen's contract. Gone because. If after this season with this roster if? They don't make this deal if they. Don't win the east what. Were you doing next year Kyle Lowry, was going, to make thirty three million. Dollars and damore was gonna make twenty seven point seven and Serge Ibaka was gonna make twenty three good. Luck how are you going to blow it up you've already eliminated one of the pieces those are the. Two pieces now while making a lot of money expiring deals. Love it for the raptors I think it, makes a lot of sense and, they're, gonna give themselves a chance to win this year they've got a. Brand, new coach when he wants to play is just. A better player than to Rosen he's one of the best two. Way players in this league, I, think we forget how good he is and we'll see. Likes Toronto I don't know But I admit it's likely hands. Up in LA here's why I don't love it. For the Spurs, and you. Know I understand I see this all the time with with. Your team Tyler I said, all the time anything. Danny Ainge does it's the. Greatest thing ever And lately, most of. It has been I admit that anything Bill ballot check does. It's amazing he's so smart, he's so great we. See this all the time Gregg Popovich is one of the great coaches of all. Time RCB bridge one of the great teams of all time I don't have to. Say that thousand times I think we, all know that what's great about this explain. This to. Me or the. San Antonio Spurs. Are gonna win an NBA championship Not we. We all know that that's I want to. Say it's fact because it sports and you never know..

"Not to sign the offer sheet imagine rachid unfortunately sean morris over here the nets opened four in this situation but each trying but the other thing that sean marks is doing is that he's actually taking a bad contract to acquire assets torch to acquire draft picks which i think is the problem with if you can't do it the other way and you can attract free agents that you want you have to make trades you have to take on bad contractor or try to make further trades the get yourself better players and give himself younger swine just that would sean marches doing what the hell the next one and i have is that we know close now they're going to the as a press conference with tomorrow a junior today and supposedly steve mills who i think is running the operation right now is right now is not going to be a part of now he's not seve noses interesting steve else has been around for a long time now we survived every other your donnie walsh to you'll phil jackson and adam blame him for trying to grab the whole damn thing should he's always been whether it's the gm the president wherever title is never he was at the infamous phil jackson welcome press conference and sat the days and then say word sanaa was lab to thousands announce seems like what he's doing steve mills it also near the dave griffeth thing is interesting i'm on not saying dave you're for was the answer not the answer but if you just did a little bit of research you know full well that there is no wave steve mills is making the decision that griffin was ever going to be the guy you're steve mills of course has a connection with david blat they played at princeton together david platt was fired by david griffin and it was never going to happen even that being said if i'm steve mills i tried to grab the old them think do but here's the problem if you say that steve mills is going to be the guy that's going to take the candidate to dinner and discuss what the candidate will be allowed to do what and steve mills wants to be.
