"So. That's what Larry So so so go back. You know Sir. I. It's. It's always GonNa talk the I forget we're on the air. It's all good. So 'cause like I wouldn't get to that because I remember not not only just like you know you topics meeting by the you're but know your stand up as well. So you started in Boston as as a comedian as. It now here's a fun thing man. That's a myth. It's The funny thing is I never ever. Set out to be a comedian I got a scholarship. Be to to write plays musicals at Nyu I was. When I was about sixteen seventeen years old I wrote this I wrote this play that ended up winning some awards at the new. York young playwrights fest, and then some people at Nyu saw that play they're like why kids got something and so they offered me scholarships come to nyu study theater and so I came to Nyu and started studying theater in my dorm was like a block away from the comedy cellar. and. I've eventually would start hanging out and talking with the Comedians, were just smoking out in front of the. Cool? Yeah. Like it was like it was like a young Louis C. K. and a young Jeff. At a young age and then eventually, I met a couple of kids that were my own age and were Judah friedlander and Dave. And I was like Oh man you guys are my age you know and and I was like Oh man. I might not hang out and so I would watch Dave Judah Engineer rafo before anybody was fucking fate as and and then eventually I became friends with Colin Quinn Dennis leary you've got took a shine to me because I was a nice Irish kid from Boston you know and they would let me like open for. Shit and I was like, Oh wow finds Mr. And Eventually you know I got brave enough that I that I started doing. You know the funny thing is the first set I ever did in comedy and this is totally fucking backwards was at the comedy cellar on like a Tuesday night at one o'clock in the morning I'd spent. The entire summer hanging out in the back with the comics, just drinking and watching the other comedies and Rick Chrome who was the the MC. Was the house in time just gets on his piano rick and I became very good friends because we both love playing piano both loves you Know Theater and gentlemen the last committee in for the evening young gentleman from Nyu he's a he is a talented young playwright and making his stand up debut. You know playing a piano and I remember just turning around like Rick Shapiro and fucking you better. Get your ass up. And I got up on stage all of like nineteen years old and I got up on stage and I was so afraid to fail in front of like my new friend. Yeah that I just started. About how much my roommate my dorm jerks off and that I laugh? was better than any. Drug. Done every drug. Better than every drug, I've ever done in my entire life and I remember I remember at the time thinking own now I, WanNa be. And the the addiction never went away I mean. My my agent always likes to say at Sean is a working writer with a comedy. Know it. It's true man I mean I'm very it's one of the reasons I like enjoying guys like new in my friends perform because I'm a fan of comedy I and then I also happen to be a comedian I. Mean I'm a I'm a I'm a I'm a writer and a director by trade who happens to do stand up professionally could just because I've been doing it. So long I enjoy it but I enjoy watching you perform every bit as much as I enjoyed performing because I love what? Journey had no. I told him I I I understand that that first time you get a laugh and you're like Oh Shit I. Mean I made like ten fifteen people em- haven't emotion. Oh, that's looking dude it's. It is. and. It's usually because I think a lot of comics sometimes come from place where there were they feel less empowered. And the ability to one of the best directing teachers I ever had. This is A. Guy. Johnson Paschal Etisalat brilliant growing director always used to say. You always used to say. Performers. On doctors. You heal the world and I always used to think like that's so cool because. We you see a movie just makes you cry and then just immediately makes you want to call your mom be like I love you. are like or like you see a comedy show and some comic does does a joke about something that usually makes you really sad and a the fact that they experienced it to and be the fact that they made it funny in a way that your brain hadn't figured out yet like I. that's my favorite kind of laugh is not just when somebody when somebody lasts I love it when they shake their head Yeh. Yeah Fuck I have jerked off into A. Flock. I mean I think that the best of. The Best of of the other people that can they can mind that truth in fine I. Mean I always thought Dave. Is Greatest Gift. They David to CAL has so many. So many gifts as a comedian, but his greatest gift is that he leads the truth and then finds front. Yeah. Yeah which which like some people like one one can't be hard to do but but once you get it, it is fucking amazing. To me it's in comedy. It's the difference between a technician. Yes. Because there's a lot of good technicians like I don't like Nikopolidis comedy. Yeah. I, find it kind of offense. Yeah. But he is a good technique. Yes. Be Setup up as punchline he hits it there. Is Plenty of Todd. Barry. bothered. But I can't say that he is one one of the best comedians in the game because. As as as tactician as at you know he is as skilled as yet but what would dave? Chapelle does what you do what would a lot of the comedians that I work with respect do is they lead with the experience and the color it funny whereas I think when people just try and lead with the funny no. Like when people will be doing that you know they're just trying to egg the audience on I.

"In when the Kobe thing struck a lot of my friends figured. A lot of the couples that weren't feeling really figured out they weren't. Divorced. Yeah Dude. When you got when you get to job for ten hours, you can really deal with the person you're stuck with them twenty, four, seven GonNa find out who you hang. In Fisher and so that's what happens. You just realizes that his wife is just this bloodsucking. Liz. It's just been riding him going yoga class sweating balls off at an Arab. and. So when he gets divorced, he calls like his three best friends to help a movie shit out of his house and into the studio apartment and you know his three best friends are like he's got his his buddy, his neighbor who's black who's elected contractors kind of like a big brother him 'cause he's INOKI. Is like a nice guy and he's been a dad longer than he has takes dad lessons from him. Which happens a lot of times when I found my friends have kids you to find somebody who's had a kid longer than UC fucking. and. So they're they're very tight that way they know each other from the neighborhood two best friends from college who also forty day you know they come out to help the move and the to friends are one is like a one percenter trump loving millionaire reality, TV producer, and the other one is sort of like a bitter alcoholic. Theater teacher in Philadelphia who basically you know tried to make it as a writer didn't quite happen in the just settled into you know. This teaching the Class and just having a half ass life in all three of them. All four of them. Have had their lives turned upside down in different ways you know for for James It was you know bringing his seventeen year old daughter to the protests is daughter's mixed race because his wife's white and She. His daughter, who's lived in this really safe suburb will life has you know she's all about black lives. Matters is all about these protests and then as they're leaving a protests, she gets grabbed by a cop and she physically. Feels racism for the first time and it's devastating for her dad because he'd been trying to protect her from that in the suburbs since the day she was born and to get shoved to the to the curb in and and you know call the Spook or whatever. I mean it I. Think it broke the DAD's heart to watch that happened more than it broke the daughters here because he can't swing on that car they'll kill they will kill him. Yeah. So he has to grab her apologize to the cop in drag her while she's screaming at the copter car you know she's driving her home the whole time she's being like you know you told me when you grow up Brooklyn tough your Faggot, you let that white cop walk on. Your slave and he's just going like I know baby I like. is like he had to swallow down his priolo bit because he know that I can like. For her yeah. She's too young to see. Yeah, and so there's there's there's there's his issue and there's my character Chris's issue, which is he's this sort of once good but then failed writer. Who's now teaching and he's know shows up for class drunk all the time is occasionally fucking a freshman. We all had. Not Immune. On this year and he's like what? Is. Like and he's a cliche. In. In these are real people. Yeah, and he the problem is you know is students are all rising up with black lives matter and what happened is one day when he's at class one of the students. were. Rising up we're making a difference Baba. He's just drunk enough to say okay. Well, you know Alicia what what is it that you did that made a difference show show this old man what a difference you made and she starts showing you know on her phone a picture of her giving the finger to a burning copquin on instagram and he's like What is yeah, that's vanity. That's you using that photo to get more light. Yeah. To look real well. But what that burning it off car do with you. It's like you showing up at a strip club enthroned deuces in front of a pair. Like you, you didn't own the tits in you're not getting those but everybody on instagram saw rate between them, and of course, being middle aged white guy saying that to a mixed race bunch of millennials. Go to the Dean and they get them caught on sabbatical and so his life's fought, and then you have the one percenter Bj? Who's WHO's kind of based on the one of my good friends from MTV. Who is probably one of the biggest? Television producers out there. He's produced hit shows for just about every netware and you know he's he's living in Connecticut and he's got his mansion now like the fight over chicken wings we. When we were doing open MIC s at a are waiting in line for you know to try and get five minutes at midnight on twelve thirty show at New York comedy. Shit. And Fortunate changed. Trim but the thing is super successful and everything's great but. he starting to realize that I mean, he supports trump because he's very very have money in shrunk covers the very. And everybody hates on on social media and. The character. Everybody hates out social media and my character Chris never lets up on what a piece of ship the guy has even though he's never done anything to my character be a good friend but he's feels this obligation to be like ball. Your fat people only fuck you because you have money people only like you because you can do. And he's like, I just wanted to have a beer and talk about. Like every show you making spaces. And you know there's jealousy there too I. Mean I I I. Think I think one of the things I'm also trying to address in their relationship is that I think people in society often use righteousness as a disguise for their own personal buy. You know. I don't I don't like this white guy why don't I call him a racist and then everybody yeah charter. There's there's a lot of that going on especially more now and I and I wrote a I wrote a story of boss about something happened to me couple years ago when when I, my first comedy contest Oriana. And then on the way back, I was like driving through this random town because like my gas is going down. And and there's this white guy who helped me but like, but my mind like Oh, this white guy is right kill me because it's not your racism and program you've been yet rent by. Of course. So. So it happened and then like years later I realized and I wrote this story I was like, Oh, well like I. I did exactly what I thought he would do to me. You know. Yeah It's not like that what do you call that that Tom Cruise time travel movie what was that Kalman.

"Well, first of all I could stop there. And not even tell you anything that I considered I believe so that would pretty good. What do you think? So now, I'm not infecting you with my beliefs at all. And now, I get what you think. But maybe you need to know some of the math, maybe don't know that. So what I would tell you then is so I really felt like I wanted to get the Baltimore Sean Lynch twice. And as I was thinking about that. I kind of thought well if I handed off to marshawn Lynch the first time in eight doesn't score. A ton of time has run off the clock. So after call a timeout, then I headed off to marshawn Lynch again that's the last play. So then I thought well, maybe I should pass because if I pass in its incomplete the clock stops, I can get it up to marshawn Lynch again, what do you think? So notice I haven't told you that it ended in this disaster. So when I describe it to you that way, you're now by definition out from under the shadow of the outcome, and you can actually see through to sort of what my thinking processes, and what my decision processes a lot better such that I'm gonna get higher fidelity feedback from you. So you can do this in two ways, you can make sure that you're doing a lot of decision review before you get an outcome. So I think I say if you're a trial lawyer deconstruct your strategy before the verdict from the jury because that one verdict probably isn't going to be very there's not going to be a ton of signal in it. You would have to sort of see across a lot of different. There's a lot of randomness there. But if the verdict is already come in. And I'm going to talk to somebody else to try to find out what they think about my strategy. I should never tell. Them what the verdict was I should act as if it didn't happen yet. So that I'm not solely ING the way that they're going to now think about the decision. So that's number one is like quarantine outcomes. Number two is to actually quarantine beliefs from each other. So that would be so that second piece of the Pete Carroll thing, I can say hero my different options. I could pass first. And then if that failed I could run the ball twice..

Can you have you say that like you already you have working knowledge of this? Okay. It's probably just looking at some other games. Go ahead. Chris go ahead while I look at this just made me laugh. So William Niessen is in a new movie a western called, the ballot of BUSTER Scruggs. He said, quote, you won't believe it. "Another another situation the nfl more sean lynch i fuck would you be smaller i love you you you now right in brain last week during the game there was a a little football scuffle it's football you know they never if they're never any real fights they all have equipment on it was a basic little pushing and shoving grabbing you know each other's jersey wasn't even anything abortion lynch runs onto the field sprints onto the field gets himself into the fray gets tangled up with a referee gets kicked out of the game gets another game suspension and it turns out that the reason why he was doing it the reason why the mother fuck was doing it because his cousin who plays on the other team not his team the oakland raiders was part of the free marcus peters is his cousin and he was out there trying to protect him right is that bay that that bay area the area they they looking out for wooded other now first of all there was no there was no action it was just to location in shoving a wasn't any big thing marshall in lynch is bogged out because i fuck would be more than i know if i met him i would love them nausea psycho are you shy do you want tension or do not want attention or do you just want attention on your terms because i think what yeah you're right 'cause he doesn't want attention i'm just sears saw not get find and all that stuff but then you do everything on the field to get the attention but it's only on your terms.

"And yet why put it in the middle of the night i mean it's a great show and as even greg himself said it's the kind of show you dvr i mean it's amazing to me that there is is tashchian it as americans are about football and as people want to know more and more and more every day this is the the ultimate insider show and yet you literally have to dvr it or you're not going to see a gee said the magic word the ultimate especially where you see were espn is going in some of those young people you can dell both male and female that's they're just they're reading the teleprompter you said at the ultimate insiders yeah and that's where they're meal israel thoughts essay you're watching the same film that that they are watching a so when we talk in meeting and you can't really talked football when you you really think about where you're going to analyse a game in which most of the action that you're watching you're not seeing all the participants on the screen so and people do what total certainty think about it you not even seeing all the all the players in the game and you're talking about a coverage or should've teams blitz a quarterback o with total cash and uncertainty and you're not even seeing all the players in the field it's amazing to me that people feel licensed to do that when when they don't know the coverage they don't know exactly what's going on on the back in the i'm curious to see if this march sean lynch program that he's putting out on facebook i guess it that's a big dale ever running it got a different series owing talk about that on the other side of it it's just you know some people find lynch fascinating said i've interviewed a couple of times on tv seemed like a nice enough guy but wow i don't know if i wanna follow morale so well let's talk about that again male most common my big question with lynch of course this week is is just he was incredible last week he ran overture rao casey he's runs with power and purpose and passion can he do it for sixteen games yeah you think he's going to get well he could very easily get heard is what you're.

"Week and so i'm a little behind and i'm not as informed as i need to be and so please correct me if i have any details wrong on what i'm about to say here okay because i can't believe that we may have had for the last decade colin kaepernick sitting during the anthem in the name of marche on lynch and we just never noticed and he's making it very difficult because he will not talk to us in a way that articulates his viewpoints on this or why he was sitting it just seems tell me if i have anything wrong here that marchand lynch has been sitting for the anthem for more than a decade and nobody even noticed at that's what he claimed but it wasn't very difficult to dig up tape on that and vetted too and it turned out that he has stood for the anthem several times over fairly recently yes more southern not right more often than not laying out he has done it on occasion like what does it have to do it it's not sean lynch lifetimes i'm not doing donuts on a nice reward i know mike that this is why i love it this is why i love it with the very little information that i have of mike is right sometimes marsha just doesn't feel like standing up i know but i find what we've done here around the capper nick story to be funny if marchan lynch has been doing it in some form for a decade and just never bothered to tell us and we didn't ask him minutes marchand lynch and now given the information that he's doing it we're all just sort of bumping into each other and who's going to as march on and what does it mean if he says something because he's not going to say at the lake colin kaepernick says it what does he believe i don't know what he believes it would have been great if he's been waiting for that question from the media his entire career and if someone would have just brought it up casually he would have gone into this incredibly nuance explanation might have had a british accent while discussing it who knows.
