"Yeah. Welcome to another middle of a highly questionable week this guy right here. Always in the middle of things that are highly questionable is good is what do you like on the show today is a mean still here feel like he never leaves. He's under the desk. Are they goes making the right move by leading falls walk. If L Sean Jeffrey catches that ball in the playoffs is n- foles the starting quarterback for this football team. I remember talking to Rodney Harrison about this. And he said if the ball is caught. Yeah. Nick foles would be the starter. If it's not caught. This is what happens both sides did right by Nick foles didn't have to come back last year. But he did. So because he just won the championship in one of the feel of being with the organization again and giving it another shot. He was happy as a backup. Philadelphia just returned the favor by letting him go. This isn't what's best for the franchise. You should get something in return for someone like Nick foles, but they did the human thing they helped the guy who helped them while they also he was just an insurance policy. They also did the right thing by their team when you consider that even if they franchise they'd have to make cuts left and right just to get under the salary cap. And for what to potentially trade him to a team when now it feels like his suit. Aren't getting thinner and thinner there's probably only two teams you can even sign with as a free agent. So it just didn't make a whole lot of sense financially for the eagles. And when you think about what this team is you have to commit to somebody. You have to commit to Carson Wentz or you have to commit to Nick foles, obviously, they're probably only going to get maybe a twenty twenty third round pick as compensation for foles. But obviously you commit to Carson Wentz. And see where this thing goes rather than just have him as an insurance policy and potential trade bait, but having to cut people as a result. I don't think this team has been given up yet as a whole with Carson Wentz as the leader. Well, see now the play of I'm telling you that they tried to save money..

"Fun to catch up with trae burden right there on CBS sports radio. And that's the story of underrated had the big Super Bowl last year during the touchdown in this Philly special play to Nick foles. And then this season had a nice year for the bears. He did. And for the bears defense is going to be moving forward. But with the offense it all comes down to the quarterback play, and what the consistency of Mitch Trubisky will eventually be, but that was a team that was a fun story line throughout the season of hey going into the year. Yeah. Maybe you could make the argument for playoff team. There was so much depth though in the NFC in them. Bam. Mm-hmm. They go out and acquire Khalil Mack. And it changes the entire thought process, and the entire expectation level would that organization now, I didn't think they'd be as good as they ended up being and they were NFC north champions. And they were the number three seed in the NFC, and they had an opportunity to beat Philadelphia. And that defense allowed. Nick foles to get the big conversion on third down. Sean Jeffrey that on the fourth goal to golden Tate for the touchdown and Bisky brought him down the field parkey sets up for the field goal..

"Fans. This is your soul being ripped for your chest. Again. There's of course, the messed pass interference call versus the saints had that call been adjudicated properly. Probably we're having a drew Brees Tom Brady radio row week extravaganza here in Atlanta de Ford's offset sides, call you know, we have talked about that as much because it was it happens. But on that play were D Ford lineup offsides. Tom Brady did the impossible and through a turnover that cost his team a shot of the Super Bowl. And it got a raced. That's all good. Tom Brady is even when he's awful the universe is time travel, Stu back in the future is a film involving a character. And Michael J, FOX doesn't watch movies be Michael J, FOX at thing. And then it's also the all Sean Jeffrey job through his hands. And it felt like Nick foles was going to complete another. Another magical moment. Those are four heartbreaking heartbreaking place. I would vote for for for parking because I'm a bears fan Stewart. Where did you where did your Where'd your heartaches lead you to vote? I could see you voted for parkey. I actually thought of that one. I really very strong considered voted for that one. But I did pick the pass interference against the saints a couple weeks ago. Biggest heartbreak that had an impact. Yeah. That's four to soup to get to the Super Bowl and the windows closed breeze. Trace what sick he's picky here. See I'm gonna I went with de Ford. I did because all the reasons you just allied like, obviously, the the miscast interference call was the most egregious, but the safety fence still had a chance to make a stop to go to the Super Bowl thing. If you're the chief's fan with default lying up offsides. He had no impact on the play. You've got the interstate. You won the game. You got the interception. The game is over you're going to the Super Bowl. He slayed Goliath and offsides because you're player grad nothing due to play lined up a yard over the line. I think that's.

"They just in every locker room in this article cited, whatever the sources, whatever you want to believe the road. Ship with Winston foles was never in question. Carson Wentz is a guy who people see as hard working. But he sounds difficult in the way that we see a lot of star quarterback. Like a lot of this reeked of the way that people tend to describe Aaron Rodgers. But when you don't have that cash a of success, it becomes harder for the people around you to buy in. I buy in a certain part of this story and others. I don't, but the one thing that I know is that in the right circumstances, this offense thrived a lot of people had mouths that got fed, including alshon Jeffery Nelson Aguilar and everyone else that two thousand seventeen eagles season were out Sean Jeffrey led the team in targets where Carson Wentz was at the helm for most of the year all these different things become easier next year when you've got Carson Wentz who goes an entire off season. Healthy comes back in this team start to winning again, this is still a talented roster. This is still a team that when it's healthy is going to be one of the best in the NFC. And ultimately, this is all going to get quiet once this team is back to winning normally inconsistently. And now that. Nick foles. You don't have the strangest backup quarterback situation in the NFL. We saw backup quarterback drama even steak route in New England. So to think they'd be immune to it is just foolish. Last the podcast. There's been a lot of drama over the weekend. And the NFL we know the AFC NFC championship games had drama involving the overtime rules in the AFC championship game. Where I think somewhere Patrick Mahomes is still waiting on the sidelines with his helmet on with wanting a crack of that patriots defense yet again in the NFC championship game you had the drama over the past interference call. And now the Philadelphia Eagles apparently you have drama because not everybody likes Carson Wentz. And people want him to be more like Nick foles, and he's not hated. But he's just not universally loved the way. Nick foles is an all this seems like a dramatic reach like do you really the Philadelphia Eagles, and I understand personality differences happen guys handle success differently? Like the way Carson Wentz came into the league. And what we are build on the outside can be very different on the inside. And we have those reports that Carson Wentz is at times difficult to deal with that Carson Wentz. Is at times selfish. These reports that we heard in the Philadelphia voice, citing sources as much as half a dozen between players and people inside that building. It said Carson Wentz was a guy that bolt quote bullied offense coordinator, Mike, grow made things difficult there in a way that Nick foles didn't. So you had all this drama. That has been courted there that to me seems like an overblown byproduct of losing an injury that came this year with Philadelphia because I'm still inclined to say that while. Yes. People handle success differently. Carson wentz. Probably not blameless in this. When you had. The offensive staff that you did. A season ago when you had Frank Reich when you had Defilipo in that building they were able to coax enough out of Carson Wentz for it to be an MVP caliber season. The key was going to be the MVP the lead had his knee not been injured. So that becomes a difficult part for me to really read too much into all of this as just a player acting up time for straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. Best phones, best networks, no contracts. Let's go to dean in Nebraska dean, you're on first. And last you got beef with the overtime rules in the NFL dean. Mind. The fact that yet you do it in the regular season. But I don't like the fact that once you get to the play off you get one chance of somebody feels touchdown pretty pretty ridiculous that the other team who that's fun just as hard as the other team tired game..

"Five year deal. You're thirty years of age, and maybe you could relocate to Washington or Jacksonville. There's going to be there's gonna be some opportunities therefore, but these teams these same teams that are looking at Nick foles or Joe flacco or also looking at Cuyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins. So there's going to be, you know, little game that's played here of are we going with the established guy who's won Super Bowls in foles and flacco. Or you're gonna take a chance on Haskins out of Ohio State or Cuyler Murray? Yes, polling how much tougher. Would this announcement of Ben by the eagles Doug Peterson? If all Sean Jeffrey caught that ball. They scored a touchdown and beat the saints at the saints. How much well they wouldn't be making that announcement now. Right. But let's say even they got he got one more, and then bowed out in against the Rams. So you get just one step closer. Would it make that much difference? I'm nervous if I'm an eagles fan because I I just don't know what I have with Carson Wentz, you know, with the the health part of this. I know physically, I know he's talented, and yes, he's our future. But he's been injured back to back years here. I would try to keep Nick foles. I would try to convince him to stay. But if they're going to be fair to Nick foles, then you gotta let him go. He's giving you enough if he buys his contract out, and he can go elsewhere than that's better for him. Yes. He look, you know, the guy's not gonna stay healthy. You're gonna play it on the next year. It's just a matter of time. Hey, take your check get your money. We'll see in the playoffs gonna make twenty million. I mean, come on. He just chill. Do anything. Get to the playoffs. You know? Then that's when you take over. Okay..

"My whole family was rooting for. You don't give up on playing football. Keep practicing don't quit. You're a good player. Love abigail. All right. I don't think there's a real Philadelphia Eagles fan here. Because there's no way that she would have that kind of nice letter to all Sean Jeffrey post Super Bowl see up. Maybe that's what it is. If the eagles didn't win the Super Bowl last year. I think Abigail is. Tearing all Sean, a new one I think she's all in on ripping him criticizing him because that's the way eagles fans respond. Not like this, mclovin. Or maybe if there is a drawing of her giving the middle finger drew Brees at the bottom, then I would be you will see children doing obscene things are better Lincoln field. I'm not fitting at all. It's a it's a thing there. Yes. Fritzy refreshing that she's innocent enough where she could be a fan and not go to wrap up the rest of us. Like, let's kill this guy and make death threats everything secured second grader and no venture. She'll get to the point where she's crazy like all the other eagle for the rest of us. I've on my Twitter time was so soft. It was like Jeffrey was the hero of the game. Because he dropped the ball. Everybody is embracing the team that loses Cody parkey and. Jeffrey, soft, Dan. Okay. Now, you mentioned Cody parking Cody parkey, the bears kicker doing doing. He stands in their after missing the field goal took all the questions, and I commend him. Because you know, the field goal was was tipped which nobody wanted that was not going to be the story. It was hey, you went off the upright and the crossbar doing doing. It got tipped. And then they eventually changed it to officially a blocked field goal with Cody parkey, then he goes on the today show and sits down with the ladies, and they gave him like some award some made up award. Most inspirational player, whatever it was. If I was the head coach of the bears. I would fired Cody parkey once he got off the set of the today show because you got Matt Nagy who's the new head coach. Who said, hey, we're all in this together. We all went together, we all lose together. I don't need Cody parkey doing, you know, the could you Pat me on the back tour here. That he never should have gone on the today show and he didn't have a good season to begin with. If you're his teammate, you don't wanna see him on that show. You backed him. You were there for him you stood up for him. But he goes on the today show. I would have if I Matt Nagy just said he could you tell savannah Guthrie when when he's done that he's fired. You know, we're releasing him. Yep. I have a theory about the positive sentiment towards Al Sean, Jeffrey, and Cody parkey two guys who who teams lost because they didn't do their job. The internet social media so negative overly almost universally negative. These days is that the new thing is to be ultra embracing of someone who screws up on a big stage, overly embracing alshon, Jeffery. It wasn't your fault. Well was his fault. But in that moment, it was just a fact, but now everyone says don't worry about it. It's all the air of comforting is almost like being anti to what the negative on the internet. Yeah. Fritzy when you look at what happened with Bill Buckner? And you know, you got gotta move to Idaho and get away from it all and what they did to Bartman, or anyone that's made a mistake. Whether you're fan interfere with the ball, you boy you screwed up. It's just you know, and death threats is just horrible. I can understand. And I appreciate why would go hopefully the other way in these years where you like trying to do the opposite. And try to Donnie more ended up committing suicide after giving up a home run today Henderson. I think it's kind of refreshing that you can put your phantom is gonna be a human for a minute. No, I don't want to get to death threats. But if I tell my kicker, we got your back where know let's just move into next season. Let's not play this up anymore. You know, you missed a kick. You didn't have a good year. Yes. It was tipped. But don't go on the today show. And unless the today show every week is going to have you know, an award for one of these players for coaching aggies. Exact quote was for me, you understand that we always talk about a we anatomy thing he said this at the season in the news conference. We always talk as a team we win lose a team. You know, I just I didn't necessarily think that was too much of a we thing. I just didn't think it was a we thing. No it wasn't. It was about Cody parkey. And and we always talk about kickers. They don't feel like they're part of the team. Here's a team that's making you part of the team and you made yourself. It was about you as an individual. And it was an Ohio is me tour, and you don't do that. You didn't need to do that. You should keep your head low. And then try to go in and win your job next year. And I just thought it was it was it was the wrong decision for him to make is all Sean Jeffrey going to be on the view today. I didn't quite like. Everybody going to start doing this. I feel bad for guys who get put in these situations. And yes, we are overly critical and having spent time a lot of time with Bill Buckner after that ball went through his legs and what happened to his family. I certainly understand you know, how far fans can go to be fanatics. But I kept cautioning bears fans to say look the ball was tipped you want to blame people blame your defense for giving up the touchdown on fourth down blame your offense lineman for allowing somebody to block that kick. Parkey did make the kick prior to that when they were calling the time out, but the ball was tipped. So I was on Parke's side. They're all Sean, Jeffrey, probably dropped the fewest balls of any wide receiver this year in the NFL. But he he dropped that one. Does that mean they win the game? No. But he did drop it. Okay. How far you take your criticism? How upset are you with all Sean Jeffrey, it certainly helps the eagles won the Super Bowl last year. I will tell you that. But all Sean Jeffrey dropped it. Feel bad move on. But I don't wanna see all Sean Jeffrey going on the today show to go. Hey, could you give me an award here? Can I get the Cody parkey award mclovin speaking as an eagles fan? The fact that all Sean doesn't do a lot of media helps him here. Like, he's quiet. I think he kept it in the locker room, whatever he was feeling. Yes. And that's where it should be. You have to do is say to your teammates. I feel bad. I mean, everybody knows you feel bad. Nick foles went up to all Sean Jeffrey, and had you know, things to say nice things to say about him because he knows that he's been clutch for them. He was great helping them win a Super Bowl. Cody parkey has no resume. You can't be going on the today show. But I would have just said insubordination, Cody once you stay with Hoda and savannah, are you can join Kathy Lee, if you want to I'm surprised he didn't just stay for another hour, and then beyond with Al Roker and Kathy Lee drinking wine. Yes, pulling the top part for the bears. There's all this sentiment to cut Cody parkey, there's a lot of money going on here. They gave him a four year deal last summer. So they owe him for guaranteed money completely guaranteed for the two thousand nineteen season. Bail him two point seven five million pluses prorated signing bonus over three million dollars to the one thousand nine season. What they plays a minute or not. Jerry Jones is on one zero five point three the fan every week usually on Tuesday. And he has some things to say about Jason Garrett. Also blamed the field at the Coliseum and the loss against the Rams. Let me start with Jerry Jones talking about Jason Garrett. If Jason Garrett was on the open market. Which one the one where he talks about the five offers. Where? Sorry. I don't see that one yet field traction. Okay. Jerry Jones, blaming the field conditions at the Calcio. Frankly, we never got traction. And I mean that literally that was a slippery field with very much to do over. Again. We would be really scrutinizing our footwear cleats. We we had trouble gig end. So to speak you say, let's try that's next few snow. It is not because not only physically, but we had trouble dig it in which affective -ness of our defense. It sounds like an excuse. But but blame blame your manager. I mean, that's their job to know the field conditions there. And did the Rams play on the same field is the Cowboys the Cowboys were tipping their their defense was tipping their positions and the Rams pick this up. And that's why they had a great game or even greater game running the football. But Jerry's blaming his team for literally not having traction. I blame my guys because they didn't have you wearing the right shoes out there. Here's Jerry talking about Jason Garrett in how popular he would be on the open market Jason had been out on the market two weeks ago. He would have had five offers for head coaching. I know that you got to look at what your alternate TV. Well, what's he saying that there's there's no better alternative right now? And that's why Jason GARRETT'S employed. Do you believe that there are five teams who have said if Jason Garrett was free that we're going to hire him? Would the jets to it? Probably would the Browns have done. It would Tampa Bay of done in Denver. Arizona. Miami. I I'm gonna guess that there would be two or three teams to bring him in for an interview. But I don't know if everybody would be rushing to bring in Jason Garrett and his Jerry Jones sang we have Jason because we don't have a better alternative play. That again, Seton that what Jerry says about Jason GARRETT'S offers Jason had been out on the market two weeks ago. He would have had five offers for head coaching. I know that you've got to look at what your alternatives. Okay. What does that mean until another good candidate comes along? Jason's going to be our head coach. And we'll say this about the Cowboys. They're front office their scouting department done an unbelievable job here recently. They really have. Now, they've taken some chances on some shady players. But you know, Vander rash. Ezekiel Elliott you trade from REI Cooper the offensive line. They've made some really good decisions here. I just don't think it's been reflected in the bottom line. And Jason Garrett has won two playoff games in his career. I mean, he's not going to be fired. Now, I always thought that there were two guys who were going to take over in Dallas one was Jon Gruden, but I don't think Gruden in Jerry Jones would do. Well, although Jerry Jones has talked. I've been told that he is spoken with Jon Gruden spoke to him in Tampa a couple years ago. And the other one is Sean Payton. I thought Sean Payton would be the guy that Jerry would bring in former assistant. Seems like a more open minded offensive minded guy. And that would be the guy that Jerry would hire. But and I thought that there was sort of an impasse or friction with Sean Payton in the front office with the saints a couple years ago. And I thought that maybe you know, they they were thinking about bringing in Patrick Mahomes. So we didn't know what was going to happen with drew Brees was breeze going to play. Elsewhere were they gonna signing for how long and Sean Payton's future with the saints. I thought that you were going to see a situation where Sean Payton joined the Dallas Cowboys, and I don't rule that out down the road. Let's say the same sloughs this weekend. Just throw it out there. I have no inside information on this. But let's say the saints would lose..

"When shack ran I plead the fifth amendment. Okay. Very good. Tex Johnson is the name. He went with yesterday. We had Rodney Harrison on many of you were real mad at me. Because you thought I didn't handle the interview. Well, and basically at this point, you guys are not here for any kind of sports interview. And it's not enough that a guy is on NBC and on the broadcast. It's basically you're going to be interesting or you're going to be gone and Rodney Harrison was here for five minutes. He was here to she'll something, but as part of his analysis we were talking about the Nick foles Carson Wentz situation and funny enough. The eagles have felt the need to announce today in bold fashioned with an official announcement that Carson Wentz is their starter. And we were wondering laughably yesterday about the way that we analyzed football games. Because that if I'll Sean Jeffrey makes the catch Philadelphia, Mike. Might not be making that announcement today or even feel that way. And here's a perplexing voice of football telling you that it basically comes down to a receiver who never drops the ball receiver who told you last month. He thought he had the best hands in football. He's been targeted like four hundred times in the last few years, and it's dropped three balls and he dropped this ball. And Nick foles, it appears took his job with them. Listen to Rodney Harrison, though with the confusion about how to analyze this situation. What would you do if you're the eagles with the foles went situation initially, I had said, you know, week ago a disguise able to get them back to the Super Bowl. I think they're going to have a tough decision. But ultimately, I think this is Carson Wentz his team. I think, you know, this is a young guy that, you know, obviously, he's immensely talented guy that has gotten hurt the last couple of years, and you feel bad for him. But you know, there's a lot of players that come in and have some some injuries and things like that. I think he's going to be the quarterback of the future. I think he's going to be dynamic and they'll figure out the right formula. Oh, thanks Doug Peterson of figure out that right formula for him to get going with all the weapons and get on the same page. I want to try that again with you Rodney. Let's just play the hypothetical that the eagles at one yesterday that I'll Sean Jeffrey catches that ball. And the eagles win. Rodney Harrison with us after that big eagles victory over the saints surprise to all of us. What do you do about? This foles went situation. Rodney. Well, like I said if he wins that game, and he goes on and possibly wins that you know, the NFC championship game. Then they would have had some difficult decisions. Kind of clear and easy. I made sure that they still have difficult decisions to make falls didn't do anything. They ran into that official announcement place. Like all of a sudden the eagles sprint into wherever it is. That official announcements are made by team falls all Saint Nick over here. Who said listen, this is all about relationships and team and all this and I don't care about starting. I'll deal with it. He came out and said, listen, I want to be a starter. Yeah. I'm an east greedy like the rest of us. He said he wants to be a starter. So I think the eagles countered by saying. Okay. But you're not going to be our starter. The eagles are just trying to snuff. The dreaded quarterback controversy. That's all they're doing. But isn't that simple? Because I think it might be. I think the teams can be fooled. Just like fans can be hell it happened to the thousand Cowboys they replaced a better quarterback in Romo with someone who just got on a hot streak. I think the winning becomes so myopic..

And we were wondering laughably yesterday about the way that we analyzed football games. Because that if Al Sean Jeffrey makes the catch Philadelphia might not be making that announcement today or even feel that way. And here's a perplexed voice of football telling you that it basically comes down to a receiver who. Drops the ball receiver who told you last month. He thought he had the best hands in football. You've been targeted like four hundred times in the last few years, and it's dropped three balls and he dropped this ball. And Nick foles, it appears took his job with them. Listen to Rodney Harrison, though with the confusion about how to analyze this situation. What would you do if you're the eagles with the foles went situation initially? I had said, you know, we go a this guy's able to get them back to the Super Bowl. I think they're going to have a tough decision. But ultimately, I think this is Carson Wentz his team. I think, you know, this young guy that, you know, obviously, he's immensely talented guy that has gotten hurt the last couple of years, and you feel bad for him. But you know, there's a lot of players that come in and have some some injuries and things like that. I think he's going to be the quarterback of the future. "I mean, you look at the other side if you just look at the numbers Preska had a bigger game than golf because the Rams ran for two hundred and seventy yards gafa throw the ball hundred and eighty six yards. That's it. He only threw the ball twenty eight times period Prescott threw for two sixty six but were behind most of the game. And of course, they run the ball Zeke Elliott forty seven yards rushing on twenty carries. That is super low for him. That is that is twenty carries his giving kinda low and seven yards. Just absurdly low like C, J Anderson had three more carries Elliott almost three times as many arts. Yeah. The cowboys. The Cowboys defense is very good in their linebacking unit is one of the best. But man, though, I'm backing unit had a tough day broken this game against the Rams. You're absolutely this this show they were outclassed in basically every position car we have some decisions to make. And we'll talk about them later on and sigma threes. We talked about some of the limited team. So like where they go from here. But this is a big offseason for them. Yeah. Absolutely. And the next game on the division around list is saints in eagle ills we're actually winning this game fourteen the nothing the other jumped out to a big and the saints scored twenty answered and won the game. Eagles were flying early. You could say and then they got shot down. Yup. That's a depressing thought. Well, in fact. Drew Brees in Michael Thomas had it rolling yesterday. That's my what I came away from that game thinking like first of all Sean Jeffrey that was for the guy that was a big time performer for them that was the one play that stuck in my mind, the most that game alshon Jeffery dropping the ball, the Boland's drizzly in Marshall, Adam Moore's hands. It ends the game ends a chance at the eagles defending their title. They lose on that play..

"Big, man. It is over in Philadelphia as a former eagle where you spend most of your career. Yeah. Watching that game Sunday, and they went up fourteen nothing. Did you think holy crap? They're going to do it. No. I I had a lot of wall. We gotta wait and see because it's early and I know the ability of drew Brees and offense style. Not like they weren't offensive juggernaut. In this game. Put up twenty last time. They put up forty eight against the eagles earlier in the season. But I said there's a lot of game to go. And that it that saints defense really made the turnaround into stopping the eagles offense to where from the statistical side of it. It wasn't even close. It was so one sided in favor of the New Orleans Saints. But here they are team that needed a fourth down and one fake and their own thirty yard thirty yard line of a punt fake. Yup. They with all that the eagles. Get the ball back with a little time left down six points and have a chance and albeit a passerelle John Jeffrey who said after the game. This one's on me. And of course, there are plenty of places you can look at but ball him right in the hands went through. And Lattimore gets his second interception. That was that was a lot closer quite honestly than I thought. I thought this would be the game that was the least competitive, right? And it was the most competitive game without question, not even close, and you you mentioned the all, Sean. Jeffrey play. So for those that didn't see it. Or haven't heard about it. Here's exactly what happened a will lutts missed. A fifty two yard field goal with about two minutes and fifty seconds to go. So that gave the the eagles really good possession. They had a really good field. Position falls made one great throw to get him inside. I think the thirty yard line of the of the saints. And so they're trying to get a play before the two minute warning. And they do and the play is there today. Right. All Sean Jeffrey is coming in a little slant. And he's wide open and foles hits him and the ball. Just bounces right off his hands into the arms of Marshon Lattimore, they got one first down after that essentially allowed victory formation. They went onto win the game. So after the game all Sean Jeffrey, as you might imagine who said so many big moments this season, this postseason and last postseason with Nick foles was asked about what happened on that play. Can.

"You can find us made the loudest statement this weekend. There were a pair of fourth-quarter drives for the saints. One was a field goal in one was a missed field goal with three minutes left. And no doubt as Nick foles. And the eagles offense are taking the field with just under three minutes to go in the fourth quarter. You all were thinking what I was thinking is it really going to happen again. And so the eagles pick up some momentum. They hadn't done this since the first quarter. They've a pair of first downs. And they get just outside the red zone. I'm either they're they're on the cost. Now. Of course, they needed a touchdown. And the idea was to oh are they gonna leave too much time off the clock because you know, what drew Brees can do if he's got a little time L little rope to work with. But they were there the whole idea was score. And then worry about the time on the clock. In the gun by formation. Two minute warning pocket. Thrones. Marshon lattimore. His second interception of the game. Jersey. Better than any time this season saints take a photograph. Again, Zach Streep and deuce McAllister. Former Saint on their radio network, so a pass from Nick foles goes through the hands of alshon Jeffery. I mean hit him in both hands. My high school basketball coach used to say all the time. He was a smart ass. He used to say all the time. Oh, sorry. That pass hit you in the hands while we would drop it or fumble it that's all I could think about that ball. He catches nine times out of ten and it goes right through his hands into a Marshon Lattimore who's behind him and was getting ready to make a tackle. And how many times Jeffrey beat Lattimore on Sunday and had a beat again. But that one has to be one of the most painful moments of Jeffrey's life, as you can imagine that's the one he's going to think about he laid on the turf for what they called on TV a full minute now that they showed the entire time. But they mentioned he was down there full full minute. They flash to them and then over on the sidelines, and I will say I was expecting the eagles to rally around him because that's what they do. Doug Peterson gives out Sean Jeffrey and embrace Jeffries head is actually resting on his shoulder and he's talking to him. And he's trying to encourage him. And Jeffrey still standing in agony on the sidelines and foles comes up to him and gives him a hug, and no doubt. There are a bunch of other guys who did as well. But I appreciate that. I appreciate the fact that after the game as much as it would be easy to blame alshon Jeffery. That's not what coach Peterson did. I just got to keep his head up. And and don't let one play define you. You know, it's it's not who he is. He's he's too good of a player and. Needs to. He'll brace it, you know, obviously. But you know, and he'll be better for. Down. We'll be back. So Alison Jeffrey says I let my teammates down. I let the city of Philadelphia down. I mean, he's not alone. Certainly there have been other guys who have had painful moment, just recently. How about juju Smith Schuster? Who apologized on social media to what was it. A fumble by him at the end of a Steelers game they need to win. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. So it wasn't the week eleven blow out. It wasn't anything. Like that. But it certainly was a dominant offense for the saints when they needed it. A hundred and thirty seven yards rushing..

"Why we play this game. Now, you know once you get to January and February. That's why we show of in April. Bard try to build some special. Go ahead. You said you enjoy all Sean Jeffrey employing the crowd. I mean, listen Jeffrey won that battle because he's a Super Bowl champion after he left Chicago. But as I was watching this game, I thought a two things right? As from the Viking fan perspective that I try to tell boomer that T needs to understand was the Vikings lost by fifty to the bears in this game. And the bears screwed themselves by beating the Vikings on week seventeen. They've loved to get that Vikings offense up there yelling and screaming at each other. Because they'd probably be an individuals. And also there was this big debate at the end of last year with the eagles foles, and how this happened at who is the person who was most responsible out of these coaches right yet Peterson yet Frank Reich, and you had John de Filipa that everybody loved okay? Frank Reich ghost in. Playoffs. Starting one in five. All right now, they're going to go in play in the divisional round Doug Peterson once again with Nick foles is in the divisionals and John de Filipo gets hired as a Vikings offense Goerner gets fired before the season. Sorry about that. Dude. Man. You got the wrong guy. Anyway. But it does look like they're not gonna hire Hugh Jackson, which is a that's a good. "So. When you say success of quarterback for a quarterback success depending on what they do in the playoffs. And they make their money to be honest. Our job is to win. No matter. What happens? No matter how you play individually at the end of the day is to get the job done. From opportunity to be back in the clouds missing last year, but excited for this team and just knowing what we've got. Dak Prescott back in the playoffs. After a hiatus in twenty seventeen the Cowboys hosting the Seahawks on Saturday night. One a four games to come saw the show me something draft this weekend, a far smaller universe of players coaches entire organizations to choose from Chris you get to call the coin toss. And then we're going to make our picks. What do you got going tales come on? Kristen. Screw yesterday. It was rigged in my favorite for a change. And today, of course, it's rigged in your favor. All right. You get the first pick. Who do you have in this week's show me something draft the guy we just showed? I think he's number one. Dak Prescott would be my first show me something guy. Okay. For a lot of reasons. First of all, I mean, we all expect all what to be the Ezekiel Elliott show, and he rested. And they rested some of their all line and they're just going to bash the Seattle Seahawks on the run game. Well, Seattle knows that too. I think Pete Carroll realizes what's coming into town or where he's going and who is going to play. And you know, I've say show me something Dak Prescott because he's played in one playoff game was certainly outdueled by Aaron Rodgers in that game. And listen, that's that's we know that's happened to other quarterbacks before. But the big thing is we've seen the last few weeks. They're passing game pick up to a degree in Dallas. There's some positives. The build on especially what we saw last week against the New York Giants and the big touchdown pass at the end of the game to win it. And a lot of big time throws in the third. Fourth quarter. I'm saying show me something build on that. Because you're going to have to be a balanced football team and scare people with the passing game. If the if the Dallas Cowboys wanna win on on Saturday night and make a move into the playoffs. It can all be about Ezekiel Elliot we're gonna play defense and control the clock. He puts up together. A few games here at some good performances in the playoffs. He can justify himself or getting that huge big time long-term franchise quarterback. And that's why I say show me something because he can set himself up for that as well. His third regular season ended just on Sunday. That's when the window open for a new contract. And the Cowboys have said he's getting a second contract. The dollar value remains to be seen winning playoff games. We'll get back Prescott there. I'm gonna go to our game on Sunday. And this one I think is more obvious than Dak Prescott. This is a guy who played for the bears. A guy who autumn only had a one year franchise tag in Chicago stayed there. But then left for Philadelphia and want championship. And now he's coming back. And he knows that. Defense fairly well, it's alshon Jeffery already complaining about the field conditions in Chicago. But Al Shaw Jeffrey returning to town if the eagles have any chance of winning this game. He's going to have to have a huge performance for the eagles. He's going to need to step up. He's going to need to show everyone. Why the bears should have kept him around. And if there's anyone with more motivation this weekend to do it. It's alshon. There's no one with more motivation. I should say Sean Jeffrey going back to Chicago the team that drafted it. Yeah. I mean, he's definitely going to have a little chip on his shoulder. Wanna prove them wrong? You know, maybe show off as Super Bowl ring from last year. I didn't hear. So he's been complaining about the field in Chicago. He said he's ready for the terrible field. Yeah. Well, I will say this. That's what Chicago does Chicago makes the grass a little longer. They slow the game make about more being physical and slow, and we're going to impose our size and will on you. And that does play in the bears favor. But the eagles are no small team either. They're pretty big as well. I don't think they'll be outmatched but big game prowl, Sean Jeffrey either way. Okay. My next one. I'm going to go to a unit. Okay. Not an organization yet. Mike just a unit the Texans D line. Okay. I gotta say show me something because I think the only way they win this football game. Is if they have four or more sacks. Okay. That's the number. I'm to set it at stats and my four you guys can hold me to that on on Monday. When we see each other. But if the Houston Texans get four more sacks they win the football game. If they don't they're going to lose because if they don't that means Andrew luck is sitting back there all day long, and he's picking apart a very underwhelming Texan secondary. And it sounds like Jonathan Joseph is going to be healthy or healthy, you're on the back end. But this whole line. We've talked about it so much the cultural line, it's the best in football right now and JJ wa and Jud Evian clowney Judean wants a new big contract. They gotta play their butts off, and they got a dominate some really good football players on that cultural line. I think if the Texans. Gonna win this football game. Yeah. And you know, what the Texans defensive line is healthy. But will they be overmatched by Quentin Nelson company Nelson's come in? He's really brought that attitude that edged and improve that offensive line to the point where Andrew luck has been healthy all year and has had plenty of time to make his throws. All right. This one. This is one of those where when we list are picks people are going to say what this is why you need to hear the explanation, and I m picking one of the various names that I listed on Tuesday night when going through the former NFL coaches who are getting no consideration to be a head coach in the NFL right now. And I'm not saying this guy should but he could maybe reenter the radar screen if he's able to solve the Baltimore offense on Sunday afternoon. And that's Gus Bradley the chargers defensive coordinator, they had a crack Amar Jackson and company less than two weeks ago to be fifteen days from when the chargers lost to that unique run based offense with Lamar Jackson running the ball for extensive yardage. Every. Game if Gus Brown, and they should this is like the second time through the batting order with a pitcher. You don't know this time around Bradley needs to show us that he can take that game film. Take those experiences from the game. They played in LA and have that charge defense ready to put the clamps on this gimmicky offense. That's why it works because you don't see it while the chargers just sought and it's on Gus Bradley to get that defense ready to deal with it this time around. Yeah, you're right. I mean, I it's a lot to prepare for your, right? You could say gimmicky, I get that. I it is kinda gimmicky that way because we're just not used to it. It's really like it's old school with a lot of new school flash. Just to make it look gimmicky. Right. I mean, it's but it's polling guards it's about imposing your will the chargers. Yes. They had some moments where they were steamrolled in that first meeting by the run game. But also had moments where I will back and watch the film, and I go damn they hung in there better in some of the in the middle runs better than I thought, but certainly going to be a huge aspect of the. Game. And it's funny. You went there. I was laughing. I don't know if you saw me when you first as because I've is going to similar route with a similar game here with my third pick. But I was going to choose the other side of the ball here. And I'm going with Marty morning Waggin. Greg Roman the two offense of game plan game planners for the Baltimore Ravens and ties into exactly the kind of what you were saying. And the fact is yes, mardi morning. Wag offense coordinator charge of more of the past game. Greg Brown Roman is the run game coordinator. But the Baltimore Ravens. They've done a phenomenal job as far as this transition from the flacco to the Lamar Jackson offense. But my big thing would be this kind of to what you were saying about Gus Bradley, get ready. Get your defense ready to stop all these gimmicky runs and do all that. Well, you're right. And I think that will be their focus all week. And my thing to say Shelby something Greg Roman and Marty morning. Wag is you gotta have a big variety of play action passes and bootlegs. Off of these past plays or do some things that the chargers have yet not seen. You do want film. They're gonna have to come up with a new few new wrinkles. If they think they're going to go into this game and run the same few drop back pass plays. They did against the chargers and the same five or six run game design plays. We saw it in the offensive side of the ball. I just think the chargers are too. Well, coached in two talented that they're going to recognize it and be able to slow down the ravens offense. But if the ravens can find some cute ways to change things up and give the chargers some looks that they weren't expecting than I do think the ravens will be in the driver's seat in the driver's seat in this football game. But it's going to be a good matchup fascinating to say one thing we've saying all week the other teams in the AFC thrilled that these two teams are playing each other knocking one or the other out because both teams very dangerous on that AFC side of the ledger. I'm going back to the game that started this draft. And I'm going to pick a guy from the same team you pick. But I'm not going with a player. Here's where I'm going. And all of a sudden we've strayed into the coaches here. Chris Rashard has become a hot head coaching candidate this year. Chris Rashard is in his first year with the Cowboys as defensive backs coach passing game coordinator. And as a practical matter he's calling defensive plays. Rod Maranello is still the defensive coordinator. But Chris charts kind of running the show he got fired by the Seahawks after the twenty seventeen season. He was the guy who stepped into the head coaching inevitability spot in Seattle from Gus Bradley two Dan Quinn took over the defensive coordinator. And it just didn't work and Seattle moved on. And this is his chance at getting a little revenge at the Seahawks. Plus, remember what madiba flus the former Cowboys assistant did to the Cowboys. Yeah. Right. When the colts hosted Dallas. Yeah. Uber flus knew everything about the Cowboys. And the Cowboys were shut out or chard knows everything about the Seahawks. And yes, the team has changed. But he knows the personnel. He knows the defense. He knows how to help the Cowboys offense attack that defense and Rashard is going to be a key figure in this game on Saturday night. And he's got plenty to gain. Because if the Cowboys can shut down the Seattle offense, and by the way, the Seahawks four and four away from home this year. That's right. Cowboys can shut them down. Maybe Rashard will be a head coach come twenty nine thousand nine. Yeah. That's right. I think that's a very valid point. Chris Rashard does deserve to be an NFL head coach just going to say that right now. And yes, I mean, we know the Seahawks like to run the football. I would have a hard time thing, and they're going to be able to rely on that all day long. It will come down to Russell Wilson having to make some big plays in the past game. And if Christopher chard and that secondary and company can shut that down that will go a long way to furthering his name in the coaching. Search. And I thought about putting Russell Wilson on the list to I mean again four and four away from home and for as good as that game should be. Yeah. If it was in Seattle, I've got a much different feeling about it than it being in Dallas. But we're gonna get Chris's feeling on all four of the wild card round games. He's gonna make his picks when PFC live concludes right after this..
