And I don't I don't totally know if I'm a fan of it because of the NBA Now we talked about collusion all the time, Because every one of these guys his friends, it seems like it's a It's a superstar league. Everyone's got a big three. Like the Charlotte Hornets have a big three or, You know, the Denver Nuggets have a big three. Any team can have a big three at any time because of what you said. Well and because now that like the landscape of basketball from the time you're a kid through college through like, I remember when Ivan Rab decided to go play a cow, right? He's a kid out of Oakland. No big deal. Sure, he's going to the to the local D one school, but for Jalen Brown to come from across the country, and then to say, Well, I've been rabbit I met playing in this Nike camp and and we kind of decided. Hey, maybe we should play together. You're like, Well, this stuff is starting at the time. They're amateurs. This is starting when they're 16 17 years old, So it's different when, like Paul George calls of Kawai and says, I want to force it. Trained so that I can come play in Los Angeles with you. I don't know how much I like that. Like I don't want to side with the owners, but I don't know that. It's great for the game that players every two years. I love Kyrie. Irving can decide. I don't wanna be here anymore. I want to go play for a different team because I just don't like to make up with this one. And I get that with the NFL, though. It's much different like to Shawn Watson can decide. Hey, I don't want to accept the trades and You know Detroit? I'd rather take a trade to Miami or to San Francisco just based on a no trade clause. What I hope we don't get to in the NFL is a situation like that, where quarterbacks wide receivers, running backs or packaging themselves and saying, Let's let's all go to the Las Vegas Raiders and play under this head coach and offensive coordinator that we really like and let's force our way there and what I would say about two Shawn Watson. That's different from some of these other guys is yes, he has the no trade clause, but he also is playing for a franchise with No direction. There's absolutely lost. That just threw away its next several years because Bill O'Brien was given autonomy over the roster, and now you've got my cave McNair and Jack Easterby there who seem to be calling the shots when they have no credibility. No belief in house Andre Johnson came out just like get to Sean out of there. And if Andre Johnson is saying that one of the greatest players in Texas history, you almost have to respect that do Shawn Watson has said It does not matter who the head coaches. I need to go to a different franchise, and I don't know that man. Stafford was in that same situation. I think it was, you know, Things got stale in Detroit. He's been there as long as I can remember. I was Joey Harrington, Dan Orlovsky the previous quarter back in Detroit. I could not legitimately tell you so. I don't know that we will get to that point. But I do think that Shawn Watson has the I don't. I don't know that it's credibility. The work the authority to look at his situation. Say, Get me the hell out of here. I would. I would offer a Sean Hill as the most hopeful quarterback. Still, Stafford that Z 140 Niner forever 40. Is that a term we can use? He might have been forever faithful, I think, is what forever faithful Van faithful now, right? That's the quarterback quarterback's love shouting out the faithful. It didn't start with Jimmy Garoppolo. I will say that You remember His only ticket was a big faithful Jo Jo Sullivan. Yeah, Yeah, I'd like to shout out the faithful. No, it zah great. It's a great point and that like it, Z he was in a situation and Andrew Brandt Monday morning quarterback was on with Murphy Mac earlier this week, and he had a comment about that. We're Murph. I think it asked him about. You know, Detroit deciding they want away from that, Stafford, he suggested Maybe it's the other way around like, maybe Max Stafford is like, Hey, man, I'm 32 years old going on 33. I've had what we have to go through it. Four or five different head coaches, maybe Maurin his tenure there. We've never won a playoff game. They're gonna rebuild completely when they hired Dan Campbell and give him a six year contract. Much like they did in San Francisco with John Lynch in calcium and you're saying rebuild this thing from the ground up if that Matt Stafford doesn't want to be a part of that Don't blame him. We question for you, Requip. Did you know who Dan Campbell was before the kneecaps press conference? No, no, no, Like something somebody's head coaching hires like Syriani go into the Eagles. There are I swear, I know like 50% of NFL coordinators. Just off the top of my head like Leslie Frazier. I know that he is a defensive coordinator and a good one. Like there are some guys who you expect. Be interviewing for these jobs. And then the guys who get the jobs or kneecaps Dan Campbell and some dude who has a good relationship with Carson Wentz. None of this makes any sense. Why didn't like the most exciting coaching carousel in NFL history turn into a no name, like people are just trying to out Sean McVeigh themselves Right now, with these coaching hires, you're totally right. I think everybody wants to grab the shiny new and this isn't a new trend in the NFL like I kind of thought that Shawn McVeigh model was the model three young dude with the gel in his hair, he spikes and it becomes about Ah lot. Cliff Kingsbury is the same type of guy. We've Kyle Shanahan for kind of fits the mold. I know he rocks the hat but fits that mold. Matt Leflore is the same type of everybody wants their their young coach. But this is a trend that has been around the NFL for awhile, right? You figure like John Harbaugh. Getting the job was was a trendy moving when that when that move happened, I was like, how many guys go from Special teams coordinator to head coach and now Joe Judge with the New York Giants is another one has done that. But there's bizarre, just really bizarre hires. Now here's the Here's the deal with the Eagles, though, and I'm with you. I had no idea who this guy was, and I was more surprised at how quickly the higher happened..

"You're in another country. And there's a dude who works in the same arena that Kevin Durant place. And now I think people kind of knew. Kevin Durant like might be on his way out. But to suggest that he was gonna land and golden State, which I mean, at the time. It was out of nowhere. Now when the Giants make the move, and they signed Barry Zito like that's a little more close to home. Obviously, he's in the Bay Area. Don't know how many people expected them to land him, But they were a team that had chased big name free agents in the past. What's different about a lot of these quarterbacks and almost every quarterback that we're talking about is it's going to have to happen via trade, which is the most. This is where things get really funky, right? Because then we're talking salary cap. We're talking. Where does a guy fit in best with the system? Then you add in guys like to Shawn Watson, who Has a no trade clause. Aaron Rodgers, who was kind of dial that back with his his comments on the Pat McAfee shows, since he made the postgame comments, But with a guy like to Shawn Watson, I wonder with him like in comparing it sort of tea, Kevin Durant and we see this in the N B. A. And I don't I don't totally know if I'm a fan of it because of the NBA. Oh yeah we sampled that so that's out there right now. Oxide is very remo can't hardly wait to hear it now back to our conversation with steve steve. You know real quick. I'll move on from this quick but i had to throw this out there to you. You mentioned your drunken foray into soap making now. I will say that i was sober when i did that but for a few years my ex wife and i owned a candle candle making this yeah she did some soaps as well but it was we were mostly candles and we actually grow it up to work kind of an unintentional niche that we landed in someone saw candles in one of the seldom of fundraising item and we ended up falling into some referral network there so for about two years we had schools goals daycares and churches come at us to fundraisers so they would presell oliver candles for us and then order like hey we sold three hundred candles and we quit because my wife got sick of making candles so many but i didn't let anybody get at me. Man it was mad they were masculine can just like burberry and bourbon and cedar and all those great ask. We'll sling parallel. You know there are man mandal's out there. They call him back supposed the batman wearing man. That's the different thing yeah yeah. We'll see we'll talk a little more about your brewery and your beers and that there so you know we talk some about that. I was gonna ask you mention cheese making as well so do you still l. Make jeeze if you brought your love of beer and cheese together no not really it's a time intensive activity that <hes> i really don't have the archery of right now said in addition to the burri. Might i real day-to-day job. The thing that actually pays the bills. I'm army officer. I don't get a lot of the time to do a whole lot of stuff outside yeah between being an officer run brewery. There's no time to ask seriously. Make the cheese understand where i heard you make a reference to vermont style i._p. Or w._p._a. What is that is that different than new england p._a. Or is that the same thing or so. I will tell you that new england i._p._a. Is the word that non vermont breweries if to vermont idea understand the origins of what you consider a new england i ta well you know he's looking back at the first what will consider new england in you're talking about beers like heady topper <unk> other assorted pub as by darkness when they still had the restaurant and then you know you have sean hill at hill farmstead had some amazing stuff also as you well before its time and that really boils down to the yeast that they were using which conan and that was developed vermont of abreu by greg noonan who is a craft beer pioneer and so- greg was using he developed conan was using it at v._p. And when john left to go start the alchemist he took the house east with him used it in a much different way than in b._b. Was using it and created you know arguably the world's greatest fear in so in vermont we had had these crazy hazy delicious <unk> as <hes> partly due to the east and partly due to some other stuff these.

"It is opening day. It's our pleasure right out if he joined by Steve Phillips of former Mets general manager series, Sirius XM MLB network radio host is a fantastic job there as well. As down in our nation's capital to take it all NATs and Mets this afternoon. Hey, Steve ties to the most of the attacks are a couple of minutes this morning. We appreciate it. What's up? Good to be with you. You when when you look at your tasks, and I were talking about last hour. You know, it it, you know, weather wise in the northeast it doesn't necessarily feel like opening day. And it's you know, it's it's an early start to the baseball season. But when you look at the the lack of parody between, you know, the the teams that you expect to be there, and he kinda kinda write them down. Is it a concern here? When you look at say, the Orioles the Marlins, some of the the really bad baseball teams is that a concern here for rob Manfred. You know, the the great difference between the contenders. And a lot of teams that are not going to be in contention this year. You know, I I know like it's made of it. I don't look at it that way. I mean, we've always rebuilding as part of the cycle. The teams go through each have their work on through it right now. But they are gonna come out of it. Right. They're all gonna come out of it at some point. What teams are trying to do y'all the Houston Astros campus, your their general manager? That's great job said we we don't want to ever talk about a window to win. We just wanna win in. So we're our goal is to keep sustaining yet to find a way to keep sustaining success. And so they let some guys walk this year. They're filling spot with young guys within the organization because they have them. What every team is trying to do. So I don't know. I, you know, I I know that it's tough to start the season take we don't really a chance. There are quite a few teams like that. But I hope even within that you can find successes that if you're gonna lose you lose your starting to build for the future and even for teams that are rebuilding. It's not trying to lose. It's trying to get back to winning more quickly. And that's the ultimate goal. Steve. Speaking of the word quickly. I mean, every time you turn around. It seems like somebody on the radio TV is trying to make a baseball game quicker and then I'll be game quicker. So are we going crazy how everyone's trying to speed the game up? We are for me. I mean, I I mean, I want the games to be quicker. But but I don't want to legislate it. I don't wanna change the game in order to win a loft. You know, three or four minutes off of the game. The time. He gave us the pace of play in. What's happened? Is that the strikes those are shrunk in hitters or patient? Yeah. There's a lot more swinging this. So at bats extend a little bit longer in in. So you know, it's not even that that what the Commissioner for shorter games. He wants more action over less time between the action. Now, I bring it up every year. Nobody ever, you know, people that they'll do it. I mean the way to do it just to go to to forty percent of major league at bats get to the one count forty percent get to the one one count in. So if you were to play three balls to strike three walls walk through strike strike out. The actual happen. More quickly pitchers arms would be saved because you throw far less pitches. If you started it down at the little league level of worked it all the way up state company arm injuries with the protected and the pace of play with gold more quickly and kids would be so bored. Plays baseball to make it up or kids. Play the game. I. Throwing it out there. Even at the lower levels even in the minor leagues to do try to protect pitchers arms. I think it'd be a good idea. But it doesn't seem to be taking and how would it would impact stats maybe in some way. Nobody wants to go there. Steve let's run through some of these divisions your data, Washington, right? And the NATs oftentimes and teams leave us Lee lose superstars they did in the off season and Bryce Harper. I it's it's a difficult thing to recover from don't look at this team. Kobe. I I kinda think the opposite. I I still think they're really good team. I'm not telling you that I could miss the likes of Bryce Harper. But they a stay still got a really good lineup. They improve the bullpen. The rotation is still rock solid. I still like that Washington team to win the National League. How about you? Yeah. I do too. I do you know last year when I went into their clubhouse and spray trading. I walked out of their thought that was the the worst club house. I've ever been in. I wasn't. I don't I don't want to blame Bryce Harper. It just was whatever the dynamics were didn't work. It was the quietest clubhouse spring training. Guys are chattering. Guys are looking at the NC double A tournament. Brackets guys are bantering across the club is you've got you've got, you know, fifty guys in the clubhouse at that point and spring training. There was no everybody sat down with their heads in their chairs restoring the locker looking at their for their ipad. And nobody was talking music on this year completely different dynamic. And I think they've brought in guys like Gyanco Juki that brought Brian does your Trevor Rosenthal. So they got some energy and there right now, it just feels different. And I mentioned that in players forget, it does feel different. We don't you know, we will everybody in here with sign up to take Bryce Harper back, but it is different. And so we feel good about ourselves. So and I think they needed some change there. It's never about just one star. Baseball. And so I think they have a pretty good team. So Steve what about the shift to the NFL central saw cobs cardinals, and you'll feel like the more dominant club coming out of the central great division, by teams the gap between first place in last place will be the narrowest in the National League central because the pirates reds are both good teams. And better team. They're not gonna win the right? It's gonna come down to the big three the brewers cops. And cardinals. I think the cubs win the division Chicago one ninety five games last year in Kris Bryant did give them much of anything with the shore shoulder Wilson Katrina has had a down year behind the play cows. Wherever wasn't very good luck field offensively. Darvish gave them nothing. Well, they're all gonna be better this year. Won ninety five games. So I think there is a class of that division. They they've got some issues at the end of the game a little bit that they need to resolve. They've got some options though, I think the cardinals are the second place team the brewers of the third place team there, and then, you know, then then it gets to the rats pirates ballots were fourth and theft. And he had a respectable. But I think the culture of the class of that division. The cardinals are going to surprise the people. They got a lot of big arms Colston acquisition with huge. I've got him BMI nationally having pe- and that was it as big an acquisition as Harper Machado starting with the Phillies and Padres respectively. Let's head out west. And before we get the how you think that race does play out. Steve number one is apt to San Diego. How do you think Machado does year one and how good of a prospect and how big of a year? Do you think tat junior juniors going to have out there for San Diego? Is he breaks camp with the club? Channel is an excellent player. I mean, he's, you know, his price point at thirty million a year was better than been harpers. What? Twenty five point six something, and it was appropriate that he is the better player. And so I think he's gonna do. Well there. It's a great place to play. You're not going to be the sort of pressure there that he might have had come to New York or Philly or somewhere else that they've had immediate expectations out of the gate. They're not gonna win in San Diego in. So so, yeah, I think he's gonna do fine. The kids the star. I mean, he's gonna be you know, he's gonna be a power hitting batting average hitting line the line hitting offensive shortstop. You know, if he ever gets so big that he plays himself office shortstop. He's got the profiles is a quarter. Infielder yet. The the big thing for him is why are they calling up on opening day? It's it's malpractice. Like, it's ridiculous call we're all in all wait for what you're gonna win seventy three games this year. So why not sit him in AAA until April twelfth call him up? Would you rather have if you're a patriots fan? Would you rather have six years or Fernando techies junior or seven years of them? It's an easy. Right. What seven or six seven, please. So why would you do this for twelve games? Thirteen game sixteen days all your down for sixteen days. Then you call them up after that you've got a pretty tire season on the back end. Because you're saying they make the playoffs this year. No, do they have a chance to make the playoffs at twenty twenty five. I don't know. I will tell you right now. It's a better chance of twenty twenty five than it is right now. And as it stands because they're calling him up with opening day. He might not be a member organization at twenty twenty five people say, well, then they can just sign them. Well, you don't know that you can sign up the players have choices to so until he makes that deal. You don't make them a deal now. And if he doesn't make you call them up, you know, sixteen days of the season. I don't get it. But you're listening. I should say the Tasman loose right now. A special guest is Steve Phillips analysts on MLB network radio on Sirius XM, former New York Mets general manager Steve. And a west seems like it's the dodgers, man. All the way. What are you? Yeah. I think the Rockies are really good. They're gonna push the dodgers. The dodgers win what they're six consecutive division title. And you know, they do it differently. You know, we we hear a lot about war wins above replacement baseball today the impact players make the game more so than if they were to be replaced by somebody get called up what the dodgers do they like instead of having one guy with a ten war. They have twenty guys with a two or three war. And so they get impact with a lot of players. It would somebody sits on a given day. He's always replaced by an above average player. I am bats. That's why over one hundred sixty two games there system win. You know, they they they haven't had a pitcher throw one hundred eighty innings and the season since two thousand fifteen they went to the World Series two thousand seventeen and they didn't have a single starter. Throw thirty starts make thirty starts or single position players score hundred driving a hundred runs because they just fall about the length and the depth of the lobster. They're gonna have to do it. Again this year, particularly the pitching because they're going in with her Sean hill and some of those guys, but their position players are still sort of interchangeable, and they're all. Good in. So during the season. Here's a lot of KiKi Hernandez, and he's gonna be a decent player. But the problem they have is they use the same system in the World Series. You can't keep your name is Betty third World Series. Cody bellinger's sitting on the bench. And that's where I think their system's a little bit flawed is in the short series..

"Yeah. When the ball hit the defensive lineman's hand, and so therefore he's allowed to handle him. Look those interception into the game. That wasn't tipped. I'll get it. But right. Well, look and see you gotta push back at me about the individual calls about that. They were bad calls was the Steelers. And if the Steelers had won that game they would have been patriot. It's not the same. It's completely say the same is completely James. This is the worst missed call in the history of football is they are going to go to the Super Bowl. If they throw the flag for PI that it's team going to the Super Bowl or not going to the Super Bowl your call. But I also get you included into a postseason as a number six seed now four seed, or that's that's what your jets. But by the way, isn't that mitigated by the? The aforementioned face mask on the series before that would have been first and goal at the one yard line for the for the Rams. So then then score this game. But this is why sorry to just interrupt everyone. But this is why like that that coal in that moment at the end of the game Macktaz to if that if that same cool gets made midway through the second quota, we're not talking about it. Because the key here is that it was to win the game a game. And you've got each. Each each of the anybody coal in the history of football. And or this season in isolation and say, they should have gone this way should have gone that way. Maybe we should have. We should be able to review this. Maybe we shouldn't be able to review this. But but it is this singular coal because it happened at the eye area. At that time. I you know, what I do think if it's just in a vacuum. And we're looking at that worst call in a postseason game ever. Probably. It's it's definitely in the top three. And it probably is number one. The other two candidates Burda manual against the Rams, the bucks improbably playing the Saint Louis Rams go in there and have them beat. I didn't really connect that the Rams have gone to ninety nine right ninety nine or maybe I don't know to January two thousand somewhere in that range. Bert emanuel. They're driving. I mean, it's crazy that Shaun king is driving the defense. Heavy bucks against the offense. I Rams it was a great battle a styles and all that and the buck. Wchs did kind of have their antidote. They always played them close. They were the one NFC side that kinda rival them. And Sean Hill's driving them down. Sean kings, driving them down the field at the end and Burda manual. Plainly catches one goes to the ground maintains possession, but the tip of the ball touches the ground, but he never the ball ever ever move. It should have been a catch. And the buccaneers may well have won the supergun vanquished the Rams before they even get to their first Super Bowl. And and go on there that was a bad one and the. Liberal win. The tuck rule is right there. It's dumb. But it was the right call given the rue given the rule the rule was violent. And that's why people are all the other one. I would throw out and your get mad. But the Steelers won that game. So it's not that big. But Troy Paula mollahs interception of Peyton Manning. And in the division around two thousand and five where he catches it. Rolls over stands back up. And then drops the ball. It's an interception on the field. Then they then there I review that one. Why don't you? It's our only chance. Tony Dungy throws the red flag. They look at it for ten minutes and the only person on the face of the earth who has a say in it is the only one who's wrong about and says, let's let's revoke that I n t anyway. Yes. This definitely ranks the all time whereas calls, I will just say one thing because it does matter to twenty nine thousand nine into into the twenty nine nine and FLC's, and the.

"Now time for the Sean hill fact of the day, Sean hill is thirty nine years old. That's how we do Wicky saving me right there. I just quickly. Hey, wait. Give me another one. We're gonna go. All right stand by on a different page. Let me scramble scrambling. I'll get there. I'm still scrambling standby now time for the Sean hill factor the day at the combine Sean hill ran the forty four point seven seconds. That's it. Now, you've relived the two thousand seven Murph and MAC. Feature on the MAC show. Well, forever that listener to make that call is pretty amazing. All right postgame sound from the NFL weekend. Yes. We're totally all about it. It is the best final four you could imagine with the saints and the Rams gonna tangle at noon down in New Orleans as the early game, and then gentleman Jim Nance is going to bring you the pats at the chiefs at three forty gentleman, Jim. It's gonna be cold out there. Yes. Yes. And we've all we went around earlier this morning about what's the best scenario of the four. We all have our personal preferences. But I don't think there's a bad one. Yeah. Talked about Bonnie Jo there's a you can have the bay area. If it's Brady and Gough you're going Marin Catholic against Sarah, two prominent various high schools within a stone's throw the Cambria studios. So that would be cool. You can go old school new school with Mahomes against coach to coach we've been talking about champagne beans says gangster how about him going triple OG against Bella check McVeigh's. The only guy who hasn't been to a Super Bowl of these four and command era finally crime climbed the mountain. No, he's still out there doing it. Andy Reid, you right now, the initial thought is Bella chick will roll in and just school. Andy Reid, you heard Ian Rapoport man, he's more equipped this year with that squad. Good on the road as they aren't home that no question. We don't say tree it's win and cover on the road. The patriots win and cover at home, by the way. If you need to know, paulie, MAC, and I probably Maktumo. Yeah. I went one in one because I got clocked by the chiefs who knew I fell in love with the colts like everybody else with luck with the larger picture is polls wins and covers no matter where he's playing. He doesn't care Nick foles factor. The larger picture is combined. We went three in one last week combined. We went three, oh and one we're six hundred I wanna get bread stick with. We don't do this new age. We don't buy points. We don't parlay. We just say what's the spread by the way, speaking of spreads the pats there three point dogs cake. They're getting three do you? I'm again, I'm going to defer to you because. This is what it is. It's want the AFC the NFC this week. Oh, I don't care or do you want to both? I don't really care. But here we go. If the pats opened this playoff underdogs for only the second time since two thousand seven solo. So that's time for the q the Brady sound, everyone's sucks. Everyone knows we suck. Yeah. Right there. You gotta Tom Brady. You wanna talk about the nobody likes their shirts, Boston sports fans. And like, so it's going to be the everyone knows we suck tour, and that's going to be a big one. When I was going to college up. There was just a not not beat L A F L A. A completely spell on a green tea. You know, everyone thinks we saw. Jan win any games. So we'll see. Be fun. We'll see we'll see. We'll see. Okay. We have sound copes the tragedy of the alshon Jeffery drop. Or is it more not really a drop more like a whiff? Through his hands he printers playing with cracked ribs. And he played so well, he's a really gutty receiver is usually extremely reliable looked great. He was great in the bears game. So copes after the game he stood there. And he faced it..

"Forget gun. Campbell used to come on down at Pebble Beach with us rest in peace rest in peace Campbell. There they go just quick shout out on the feel good Monday morning because we don't say that very often most Monday mornings and a very feel-good shout out to Chris Kelly, our friend Chris Kelly, who's in from the east coast friend of the decade, really. Well, the friend of the decade we met him for Super Bowl. Well, the one that was in New York. A forty eight Seattle Seahawks. And and who they roll Denver Peyton Manning safety on the first. Right. We were in Manhattan back when they used to fly us to Manhattan well back in the old days Manhattan for the week. Bonnie Jill now is nice right befriended. Chris, okay. As we like to call. Anyway, he's here in town visiting right show. Always welcome doors open and Chris Kelly walks. Always get saying I'm gonna do is new nephew two nephews all over the place. I was talking about Chris interacts with a lot of nephews when he visited the bay ninety five sisters, Marcus Peters. The guy that Amari Cooper went after post game. I've wondered why that doesn't have more often after all that game and all the trash talking. Well, yeah. Because some guys are about that life. And some guys aren't Marcus is about that life Markey's is about that live and Sean Payton is about that life seven hundred seventy s Mahomes aid beaten Brady two times in a year. I hate to know the pats are going back to the Super Bowl seventy seven. I got good news for you. He hasn't beaten pats one rating won that game forty three forty. So maybe you feel good. Yeah. Seven zero seven says the way you guys talk about Nick foles. Do. I dare say we reintroduce the Nick foles fact of the day member, Sean hill fact of the ticket up easily, and I thought I was saying if they brought him to San Francisco first of all I'd have to man crushes in the same meeting room. I'd have Garoppolo and falls. Plus, I wouldn't have to change my tribute song. I could keep Nick in a box. So back Sean hill had Nick foles like tendencies because he was are just kind of forgotten backup during the o O's and I fell in love with him because he would come in and throw clutch passes. And I was like who's this guy? I need more Sean hill, and we kind of built him into a low cult hero to the point. We had Sean hill factor of the day feature on the Murph and MAC show, the Iran fat cove could be that you know, in high school he ran track. We had a big big intro. I know police digging around trying to find it now time for the Sean hill fact of the day that listener calling for the Nick foles factor the day that listener runs deep because that goes back to like oh, seven oh eight. We say, you know, Sean hill university of Maryland, whatever Nick foles factor the day. Getting very close as standby everybody. "Systems, but the final four teams is that every year in the middle of the year. We get these are two clearly the best teams in their conference. It's inevitable. It's going to be a conference championship game. And usually something happens along the way to trip that up like last year, Pittsburgh, New England. It's inevitable. It's inevitable in the Jaguars ally. This year was very different this year. We got many assumed we were gonna get two months ago. And as a fan, I always assume there's going to be an upset. I always assume something's gonna trip things up. And I assume that this year, and I was dead wrong. We got exactly what the standings kind of told you. We were gonna get maybe eight weeks ago the patriots and the chiefs the Rams and the saints kind of like. I think it was the two thousand fifteen season where we got that as well. The one in the two and the one in the two got it again. Got it again. That's what we got him and both of them Marie matches. The we mentioned it already that forty three forty game Kansas City losing to the pats on a Sunday night in Foxborough. And of course, that game a number of weeks ago in in the Superdome when the saints beat the Rams forty five thirty five which really was the game that got them the whole field advantage when you break it down. That's the difference. That was the difference. How significant it is yesterday with the eagle game. I thought there were two moments that changed everything because when Philadelphia comes out I player the game. Drew Brees takes a shot. Deep and trivia on LeBlanc who three-day by Thomas was open. If he got the ball. He he was. Yeah, why we shop breeze. Make a couple of deep throws yet. Well LeBlanc was able to pick. It off the eagles ended up scoring a touchdown. Then they force a three and out. Then they score another touchdown. I think one of the moments that was huge is when Philadelphia got the football backup fourteen nothing early second quarter. And Nick foles. Does that interception of Marshon Lattimore added tremendous? By the way. At a phenomenal game. He was that changes things at fourteen nothing is they're driving almost on the New Orleans side of the field. Even if they kick a field goal there. You're talking about a three possession game. So a turnover and then the obvious one and that's the fake punt. And you know, it's interesting on a fake punt because it's fourteen nothing forbidden. It was a penalty on the play number one a whole deep penalty that would it not get back to be a third and eleven and of course, you know, four thousand one hundred thirty yard line. So Peterson declines the penalty. And I knew right, then I said to myself they're going to go for this. I really felt that I thought they were gonna go for conventional way. And of course, they do with the fake Ponte Sean hill gets the first down and even the even the touchdown on drive was a fourth and goal from the two. I thought they would kick the field goal. I I was thinking I don't know if you are. I was thinking, okay. You're gonna take the three points here. They gotta get something out of this. And they go forward and get the touchdown. I only didn't because it Sean Payton. That's what he's done. I mean, remember back to the Super Bowl. They won the onside kick fake police cutting in its own right there on their own thirty yard line. If somehow that fails taste hill has been this great weapon. Not just on a play light touchdown pass that got caught. I put the ball. Who is it was it? Ted Gani put it right on his hands. Well, this I think it's their left guard. Andrus Pete performance day. God holding panel does fall star takes the hill touchdown away. But four thin gold from the two down fourteen nothing. Normally I'd say just get the points here in your own building. Just take the points. But it Sean Payton, and he's got see, and he got it and not only does it work. But I'll pump fake to Michael Thomas. We all think the ball is going to and it ends up being who Christian would get caught the whole game. Was it? I think so. And it was a pretty big one yet. But those moments really change things from fourteen nothing. Philly's got a chance to make this lead even bigger. To go in for the fake punt to going forward on fourth and goal from the two yard line. And after that give the Saint defense a lot of credit offense. Did absolutely nothing really did nothing. There's no question about it. And and let's also talk about the drive. They gave them the lead. Epic drives you've ever gonna see it eighteen plays eleven and a half minutes. And remember they overcame to holding penalties at a false start. Right. And a start the one holding penalty. I just mentioned on a touchdown pass healed through to gimmick a call back. So I started on about their own seven yard line. Was it ninety three yard drive. That's right. I think that's what it was started on their own seven or eight yard line. Oh my God. They not only overcome to holding penalties guy. Pete. The over or one holding penalty by Pete holdings was on a hunger, and it really wanted a whole center. Yeah. Right now, it was a bad calls bad. Call really was a bad quarter. And then there was a false star put third and sixteen to Michael Thomas. That's the play jumps out at me. Because at that point. It's you know, it's a makeable field goal. But it's a forty five yard field owners. We saw later with love, you never know. Right. We don't know any converts on third and sixteen. I thought at that point. Once they got it down to the Philadelphia ten yard line. And eventually the two yard line to score a touchdown. Oh, yeah. They had to put it in the end zone. And they did to Michael Thomas, but think about this. So the eagle offense does nothing after they score those two touchdowns earlier about fourteen nothing enough. Right. They still were in a position they will potentially win. And they were driving. And I'm watching this game with my son who is a huge state fan. All families over yesterday. And everybody's everybody's ruined for the saints. I want to see them win. But I don't want to see him call. I've worked out for me. I wanted to get something. Three. When he misses the field. All my guy, and he hits that past the earth's for the first down. And let's be honest. You know, falls puts the ball right on L schon Jefferies ads. You got to catch the fall. It's all on our show. He he handled as well as he could. And who knows if that Paul doesn't go through his hands. Thinking about when will lutts misses the field goal to yards. I'm thinking, oh my God the falls magic. This is to be so typical that Nick foles in this eagle offense who's done nothing fourteen. I think if they can sustain this dry. They got about three minutes to go in this game. Who knows how much time they leave and leave you'll even know rice, right? So I started thinking how many times to the saints have holy mackerel? They only have one they just use their second time out before the third down had used the Mets. Right. So they have one time out left. So what's going through my mind is home? I got they score a touchdown. Let's say they leave thirty forty seconds left enough time. The field goal range. So when lots misses the field, all my brain is telling me, oh my God. The foles magic is common in the magic of a receiver. Jeff yet that ended the magic that was even got the roughing the passer call which set them, they did that's true. Which look it is within the past is fairly hit him in a fait in a face mask. Yeah. They're going to call it call it. We can sit here all day and say, oh, they wouldn't call the twenty years ago, but it's not twenty years ago in two thousand nineteen they're going to call that they are and it set them up at the twenty seven yard line. And well one mistake by Sean Jeffrey and the magic of Nick foles ended and maybe it ended in Philadelphia. It's going to create a very intriguing storyline over the next few weeks and months to follow. What the heck ends up happening with Nick foles here. I look I can't see how to keep them. I mean, how are you going to do that? I don't see how that's possible. You got a young kid and Wentz you gotta you gotta be concerned. You do the jets would you not why? Oh boy. Oh boy. It's it's it's a tough call. I mean, we talked about it already falls is a God in Philadelphia. Even even just what he did this year. I mean, it's team was looked like they were dead in the water. He leads the playoffs. They win a playoff game. I mean, you know, I, I don't know. What what are you go? Look, it's a tough call. I don't think they're going to get rid of Carson Wentz by any stretch an Email. Saying they should. But let's say they did say they moved on. They traded Carson Winston Miami. And Nick foles ends up having a very average career for the rest of his career and Wentz ends up. Having a really good career. It's not going to be this epic failure. Because they want us. You know, what I mean, even what he did this year? There was six and seventy they'd beat the Rams. You know, you're on a roll the next thing, you know, they up there in the divisional round. And they lose this game. Nick foles crashing earning. No, he didn't crash. They Harvey had the ball either. Eighteen play drive around. Course, and they're willing. Finally, get the ball back. They basically run five plays wanting again. So I don't know. I assume what they're going to do. Because the way this option works is that they both have the option on twenty million dollars. I doubt both sides are going to say, yeah, let's bring each other back for twenty million dollars. It's gonna end up as a free agent, and I guess Philadelphia could franchise. Radim could or they could just let them go and let them walk away. And then what's the market for him? Those teams that need quarterbacks. How do they view Nick foles as a free agent? I don't know. I don't know the one thing I do know is that he can do no wrong in Philadelphia. That's for sure. I don't think he'd ever want us to take less money to be a backup there. And I don't think he would. But like, I said, he's a God in Filipino. What? Though. I don't even think with Nick foles, and I'm assuming I don't know the guy that it would necessarily be about money more than would be. He probably thinks he's back and he wants to apply. These guys are competitors. All of them, all of them think they're great. And they should they all should think. They're great. So I'm sure you've got wants to play and not sit behind Carson Wentz, especially with what this man's accomplished over the last two year. It'll be interesting. I mean, what's who teams out there? That would want him the dolphins. I don't know what their view is. Jacksonville makes perfect sense. Right. Really makes a lot of giants interested in because if they acquire Nick foles that means it's the end of Eli manning. He's not coming to compete. Definitely not definitely not. We'll come back. We'll get your calls. Also, get to the ram cowboy game. But ain't gonna Roberts in the midday. Connecticut school of broadcasting, you know, about them, they got New York City area campuses in Stratford. Connecticut advocates New Jersey that's where I went and Westbury Long Island. "Not success. Twenty three and twenty five that's a losing record tastes. This man is a loser. What were the Packers record this year? Well, it was the Packers record this year. That's right, Richard. And and I I agree that, you know. The he overstayed his welcome in in Green Bay. And that we don't know what what's that attributed to whether it was a personality conflict or decision making strategy conflict between him and Aaron Rodgers because of the conservative play call. Nevertheless, this make you sit in an interview and put a Super Bowl ring on a desk and say hire me I've been there. I know how to do that for another team years ago years ago. That's the thing. I mean, look I don't wanna knock McCarthy because McCarthy was a good coach at Green Bay. All right. And it had success at Green Bay. But was he the reason that Brett farve was as good as he was? I don't think. So is he the reason that that Aaron Rodgers is as good as he is? I'm not so sure about that. Did he have a hand in it? Absolutely. I mean, he was coach. But if you look at the resume, and and this again with gays the quarterbacks that he coached including guys like Tim tebow who had success under him who never had success in the NFL. We're talking after that. You look at guys like kit now and Sean hill who had their best years on him. And when he left they fell off the face of the earth. You look at the quarterbacks he had in Miami. And he had hold who had potential, but couldn't stay healthy. So. You look at Matt Moore who jet fans will remember that comes into games and wins. So I think you can look at this guy as a guy that's had success with quarterbacks. And then you get Peyton Manning premier quarterback. Top five of all time saying this guy's a great quarterbacks. Coach that's pretty strong endorsement to me..
