"He sort of wants this to go away. Hey, can't really call for Trump's head on a stick in the Senate trial, because that's again not unity and gonna invite calls to impeach Biden. You know, Biden himself is in a tough situation, because if you push too hard on Trump, then they push back on Hunter Biden, which is still out there is a possible Criminal investigation that could lead up to the big guy. So all that to say, I think Biden has to wish that this Goes away, but that Democrats, it looked like they tried, but, oh, the court said, You can't go forward. And hopefully it'll fade away over the next couple of weeks. We'll do you have any kind of gauge about how many people because, you know, we talk about 50 50. And indeed, if we're going that way would be a little more than 50% and binds favor given that you know, he did win the majority of the vote in this country. Even then, I get the sense that a lot of Democrats Ready to move on to you are always going to have the very passionate base that do as you mentioned want, You know they're They're political palette of flesh by getting trump, you know, even after the fact But I have a feeling that if you were to pull people and say Would you rather move on the legislative agenda, and you know the other items that Joe Biden put in put in his plan that you voted for, Would you? Rather they work on that or on the impeachment? Trump? I have a feeling even a majority of Democrats who say now work on the stuff for us. I think you're right. And maybe this time line helps us with that, You know, it's delayed over two weeks for both sides to make their legal case, but it's better than rushing it a day or two from the house to the Senate. Well, Well, the passions were so hot, Let's cool it down. Let's think about what's the better option moving forward, And if Donald Trump is going to face justice, it should be through the criminal justice system. Impeachment is a political process for the purpose of removing someone from office. He's removed already. So, um, yes, I think there's folks in the middle that would like to see this just sort of Passover and let's get down to the business of fixing the economy and moving forward and again. The timeline may help us with that. Air University's Dr Sean Foreman at Dr John Foreman and Twitter. Always pleasure. Talk to you soon. Thanks so much, Brian. You as well. Right? I just want to point out again. No matter what else you hear, there is but one fact. This could go away inside of five minutes today. Anybody who tells you differently is being dishonest. It is a choice to move to an impeachment trial. It is a purely political decision by Chuck Schumer. And by Democrats. They could vote to dismiss as soon as it gets there, and this thing would go away and they could work on the agenda instead, whether it's in February or whenever. Under constant under the constitution. The Senate can engage in no other business until this is resolved. So for however long they take up and dedicate time that is guaranteed time that did not have to take place dedicated away from buying the administration official confirmations from the legislative agenda from any other item that the Senate would take up, including conform, confirming judges. Actually hurts Biden himself his administration on policy. In order to trying to get their political pound of flesh for somebody who's no longer in office. Really something all right now we talked about the angle involving the President. What about the writers? Their legal defense? Some are now saying the president made them do it. "The show. And what is anything but a Normal year. Almost something chaos is 2020 In a nutshell. Here, we said, and we have the media declare. Joe Biden, the president elect on Saturday. We have Donald Trump, the incumbent president that is reading a bunch of lawsuits and states alleging voter fraud. And we are still taking stock of the storm as it continues to flood South Florida and is going to continue to hang off the ghost Gulf coast of Florida and eventually make landfall again. It looks like on the Gulf Coast as the tropical storm later this week. I mean, what isn't happening now? Like to Sean Foreman, Barry University, joining us now at Dr Sean Foreman Foreman. I want you to help me with a couple of things here because I'm having a really hard time dealing with fax in reality relative to what the media will bear. Self I am a student of history. I am a person who believes in process. I still probably naively think that the system ultimately works more often than not, But regardless My understanding. Is that News media can only issue projections in states It's on ly the states themselves that may certify votes that determine the actual winners. Is that correct? Good morning, Brian. You're absolutely correct, and I even hold those same assumptions as you. I look at the process. Let's make sure it's fair regardless of what the outcome will be. And indeed it is not over until state actually certifies its vote to tell us officially who won and it was noted that will start this week and Continue different days and different stage. Yep. So, but, yeah s so what that being said. It's so critical important. Joe Biden as long as Donald Trump has not conceded, and as long as the states have not certified their vote Joe Biden. Is demonstrably not President. Elect. Correct? Well, I think you can make that case And I guess they could make the opposite case to the I heard your definition earlier and you are right and others are right. The media does not determine the winner of the election, but what they did here is what they've done in the past. Once we think we know what the outcome is going to be state by state, see Adam up. Somebody to 70 you say OK, this is the president elect. They did that for Trump. Four years ago, they cried. They were locked in, but you know he was named the president elect. Once we knew the outcome, which was more decisive than this time, the problem is Their questions about the outcome there and let's let the process play out. If there are outcomes to be changed in any of the states, this is the time to do it, But you know they in effect, I guess they can say he's president elect. If they feel that that's the way the vote's going to go based on all the numbers, and we're all watching. And that most likely is going to be the way this ends. But the reason that it bothers me to the extent that it does is that to the extent that many already have a distrust of news media And to the extent that many believed that news video was complicity in trying to exact election outcomes, including not vetting Joe Biden, the candidate not covering a lot of different stories, but for three years playing up what was probably falls in the trump Russian collusion narrative how media has decided to choose winners and losers. Losers now, quite literally in that context. Isn't this an injustice to the average American's simply trying to come by information and sort out what has been a very difficult time and In our country. Yes, I'll go with you there because as you always say, and you are correct. Ah, the worst part of news bias is omission. And so indeed the way that this whole campaign was covered over The past couple of years away to Joe Biden was not scrutinized in the same way that Donald Trump wass and the way that Democrats everything part of all Get this outcome, which is a squeaker. If it holds up shows that it took everything possible, including all the media trick to get us to this outcome. You know, you take away the media bias. You take away a few bad comments by Donald Trump. And he probably wins this thing easily. But again all everything was stacked against the incumbent and and including the news media, which are very powerful in shaping opinions and outcomes. No Dr form and something that is Front center in my mind. To the extent that there are widespread allegations of voter fraud, it has to be evidenced and there hasn't been anything sufficient that any courts as of yet, but that could change have acted on. And it may not be the case that anything would be acted on. Not to mention you could take the two most popular states, Pennsylvania and your choice of either Michigan or Georgia. They're both worked like 16 electoral votes. You could put both of those to trump. Let's just say hypothetically and Joe Biden still wins. So in other words, I think the ultimate threshold here by which you would have to have Brought across so many different states in and of itself supports Joe Biden as the eventual winner. Should that be the determination? But the getting there and you know the way this is being handled, too. May just reeks of those you know, and and provide something to those that are looking for a conspiracy where maybe it doesn't even exist. Again. I think you're right. You know, Unless we see some miracles across the board, not just one. But several in several states. You know, this is the outcome we're looking at. Ah, we're not talking about 537 votes like we have a Florida in here. You know, we're talking 10,000. For more, but You're also correct that the way that this has played out in the way that we get partial information or misinformation and just the whole suspicion of having to count balance for several days after the election. Does raise doubt on the process. You know, it doesn't help when the president fuels it by saying that there certainly is broad right until we until we have found it. But you know, this is the time this is Steve and this is the week. If it is, they're getting in court figured out and let's go. If not, then you know, we need to accept the election results. Move on, help the country to hell with the transition and the one other thing that supports their maybe not being fraud, Widespread to the extent that many think has happened that are supporters of the president. You see down ballot that Republicans did exceptionally well. In your studying of some of these things, including where there has been evidence. Voter fraud there have been in many, like there have been 15 prosecuted. And since it's a better fraud, this election cycle 2020 before the presidential election actually arrived. Have there been instances where there been inconsistencies that way? Not that I could point you right now. You know, we know those ticket splitting. I think we'll have to dig into the numbers and see if this is really what happened. But it looks that way because you know that you know, Republicans down ballot did well, and they were just some parts where people might have split their ticket in a way that left Donald Trump of votes short. Where Republicans still want again if we could find strong, educated out there, But it's not. It looks like the voters have spoken as tight as it is Barry University's Dr Sean Foreman at Dr Sean Foreman on Twitter. Always good talking with you. Thank you for the time in the pragmatism. I've been meaning to thanks for the reminder. Alright, now joining us from Barry University talked about the landscape. The choice of Kamala Harris is Dr Sean Foreman may fall him and Dr Sean Foreman on Twitter and Mourning. Hi. Good morning, Brian. Good to be with you again. Yeah, I always go to talk with yet looking forward to your inside as well. So Joe Biden has made his pick. What do you think about his running mate? Choice? Well, I think we could say it's bold. But it was certainly predictable. You know, we've seen this coming for months. Hey, said he would pick a woman and we expected a woman of color and we knew who the candidates in that pool were. S. I think it's sort of expected. It probably does no harm, but I'm not sure that it does much good in changing the electoral map. California solidly Democrat Ronald Harris has knocked against her, which were already seeing last night and this morning. Um so you know, it's a new dynamic for the race, but I don't think it changes anything, Brian. I don't know how much of this has done for strategy. How much isn't But you take a look at Joe Biden in particular people wondering how long he would be able to operate effectively as president. The United States does that. A factor in perhaps toe. Having a younger woman who seems like she's pretty sharp, pretty engaged on most issues. Perhaps you know, I think those of us who think about this stuff and try to project what voters might do. I think his through Well, Joe Biden's older he might not make it through the first term was he gets one. He's already told us you probably won't run for a second term. So therefore this vice presidential pick is more important than normal. This person It really would be closer to occupying the presidency, then passed vice presidential candidate so we know that but again, I think looking at the polls looking at Campaign Knowing what we know about American politics. This is about Donald Trump and Joe Biden. And you know those those guys and there are big enough to fill the room and camel airs and Mike Pence will just have a one or two moments during the campaign, so You know you're right. I think some people have to think about. Hey, do we want Kamala Harris is president just like you would have thought that we want Sarah Palin is president or any other vice presidential pick. At the end of the day you picked based on the folks up top. So now we take a look at the next steps in this particular campaign. That's unlike any other because we don't have the typical campaigning. What is it that you would expect for the campaigns at this point now that the field is set? Do you expect Harris perhaps would be more visible than Joe husband. I think she will. You know, Biden's been in his basement. Yes, He's gotten out recently. But he's going to be limited. Trump has the presidency and the bully pulpit and so For better or worse, he can run his campaign more nationally and get more visibility. So I think that that's part of the democratsstrategy is whoever this number two is going to be. Would be the proverbial attack dog. They believe Harris will be good at that She's willing to take on Trump another top Republicans. So so, yes, we're going to see her all over the place. On probably on cable TV. Of course, they won't be able to do these rallies in person. But I think I see well see her come up front. That is Brian. Until you know we sort of have to see how the next two days or so ago. And what's the national reaction? And if it is positive towards Kamala Harris will see more of her. But if you know there's some stumbled in the next couple of days, then we probably won't see much of her. Speaking to Barry University is Dr Sean Foreman. Let's talk about Florida. So we take a look at the landscape in Florida. How do you think it's setting up so far compared to four years ago? I think we're looking very similar to four years ago. We know that our presidential and gubernatorial races are decided by about 1% over the last decade, and I think we're there again. You know, the polls have shown Biden had nationally even ahead in Florida. By a lesser percent. I see they're tightening already. As we're coming out of the summer s O. I think united in all of your listeners know we can expect Florida to be close up to the end. But again, I don't think Paris changes anything in Florida, and, um, you know, Trump's not in this bad of shape and Florida's we think again look into Poles and seeing that really the Knox have been against Trump and Governor De Santis mishandling of Gruner virus. You know, For better or worse. That's where they get hit in the polls on the economy overall, they do better. So, uh, I think once we get through the next wave of Corona virus recovery, then we look at the polls again and see where we are. But Florida's gonna be close all the way to the end. Speaking of the polls, do you? What do you look for in the polls? Because, as we know, some in particular, Quinnipiac has a really bad record in our state nose. Did a story on them yesterday. But are there certain Poles that you trust more? Another turn things you look for with all that money? I used to think Quinnipiac was one of the top one followed them for the last couple cycles. You know, Arrest musician, I think is honorable People say they lean, right. Ah, Ah, you die, And I really think we gotta look at all of the polls and take them with the green assault. Look at the average of polls and really look at the track and look at how they how they do it A week a month a month, So my answer is no, I don't put stock in any one particular company, but I, but I look at the trends over time. Thank you very much for the time. The inside look toward checking back with you soon. Thanks bye and have.
