"Five one half of one a one point five and fourteen hundred back with Percy Gibson person before we hit the break we talked about our favorite coach campy memory there's got to be a thon which is one that sticks out for you it was one day we were doing walk throughs rate for an upcoming game I don't remember exactly who were planned but we're just going through the motions and co testing new shoes on and I know we had the new court everything so everything's pretty you know to let you know you can turn on a dime in it so he was he was yelling at one of the players also figure this whole this is going persecution but you know he got his point across and then you turn around real quick and he took a stumble and like the way he caught himself like he took a good six or seven steps he didn't fall I commend for you did not fall it was hilarious and laughter that like the whole you know everybody's laughing so all the the energy from water passages you know it kind of went away it was definitely it was definitely a funny mal man are in fifth grade I sat in on you practice I learned some new words definitely how is there it was it was entertaining to say the least so I think your Valentine might have missed a dunk trying that out but the three sixty for the crowd is an open practice right I have never seen a man get so he's in his life it was the funniest thing I've ever seen great campy absolutely what and your Valentine absolutely what it out of okay eight hundred nine two three nine three eight five Hey what about the giveaway Luke all yes thank you for my major we do have four red wings tickets for tomorrow night at seven thirty with a parking pass include if you want those you what we do and that the twit that Twitter giveaway a week by calling in at the call and I'm putting it on Twitter but yeah first caller so you yeah we got some phone lines buzzing up so you're taking away okay there's a there's a call right now I'll take it I don't I don't have it here there it is okay we got sorry that's my fault we have a call Percy who is your your favorite team made the play with throughout your years Iowa state you even the pros is your favorite player that you clicked with on the court I might have to take it a step further and go just even younger like S. U. high school active brand the current without a doubt this my god brother like we've based basically played together our whole life and just the chemistry they're like you can't match it like we knew the spot I knew he would be here I'll be here and we just make something happen yeah I mean Brenda current for sure so I mean how much how much chemistry how how important is that to a guy like you planned that having a guy that you know how how important is that it definitely helps but I feel like I'm one of those people that can adapt will so my even my first year when I was in Spain I was able to you know really mess with a couple players and really get stuff going on the court because of it and and you find the game being a little different overseas as opposed over here did they play a different style or is it just the same game different place it kind of depends on what portion of the world you're in at the time because different places have different playstyles but when I was in Spain it was more actually kinda reminiscent of my later years at Iowa state where they wanted to big sisters to Florida but I was still one that would be on the block and because of that I was able to really kind of dominate my position because they were more worried about height post a sprint so I was able to move people out the way you get easy buckets dissonant eight hundred nine two three nine three eight five to get dialed in brown let's do the show in Detroit has done just that brown how you doing tonight you're dialed in hi Laura said I do I do are you doing good what's going on with you big fella she only thought the person listed out all over the island on the Mike yeah all right go ahead Hey how good was your high school basketball team we were high school I agree with you I school how does a the way you often in the high school looking for a culture we live throughout the six nine and I'm going to see what kind of game you and I look you left you can just got everybody knows I'm going left but you won't stop it that was me this is a danger of wishing more sick days I know exactly who you are talk about bro yeah it brown the boys and we going make a list one of the greats one of the greatest of those underneath are you are you still going to be realistic well planned out there which are which are going to come up with three we get the thank you would you have been the appreciate a reply thank us they still winter yes unless we avoid I thank brown that's probably to show in Detroit I was family friend of of Percy childhood friend great shooter shooter one from the mariners yes Sir all right the PPL on the rise definitely I'll K. featherweight championship back there a couple years ago K. coming back on the show next month person maybe can I join them again and I was a kid he may yeah definitely early may with Kay Felder eight hundred nine two three nine three five the red wings tickets are still available so if you want to call in and and claim those are all yours at eight hundred nine two three nine three eight five Percy coming out of high school what school was recruited you was I was like the biggest war you know but what about Iowa state that you know attracted you so well for them initially committed to Dayton when I was still in I wanna say it like right before my senior year and then the coaches left Brian Gregory he went to Georgia tech and like so I open my recruitment back up but from there you know I had I had a big schools in Minnesota I can't really give all the names are now off the top of my head but you know you have some big schools in there and eventually mark the coast who recruited me to go to Dayton he got a job at Iowa state Cornell man that's my guy in the so you know once he got there you know he's basically someone you like this and that it's going to probably be a building year but we can make something happen I trusted in him he was always a genuine guy I want I will sit that's that's awesome so so I was state won you over from all these big schools you mentioned Minnesota so Monte Morris is there when you're there correct I'm one of the reasons he actually undergoing a he felt the familiar faces and everything so he ended up common you know him and Sheron books you okay Sean Dorsey Walker also came over from Iowa state with you you as well so how big was that for you to get shariah shrine was a huge part of the you offense especially from a couple years and he was there all right with that goes with the chemistry we built to mount once again he was also a Persian doughboy hated their guts but after the fact you know he reached out to me once I got to I was they wanted to know how everything works you know I told him what a great things especially about Kotori Burke is the exes and ohs you can't beat him I feel like he's the best exes and ohs coach that I've ever seen but after that you know he decided to make his move I reached out to him again let him know I'm here the case here we can definitely make something this year and we were lucky enough to get more tears walkers will so we had a marine corps a guy from Detroit well if you guys are about three years younger that when you guys all got together you guys having a huge run the NC later was a sleeper team as well because it's huge especially with you coming over the horizon league they're always slept on but it's always somehow they can't get over the hump though come on come March I I'm sure that'll change though because they're going for the LC outside Indianapolis for the horizon turn me a change of scenery can I can benefit those guys out there in the golden black death rate for coach campy he was there a couple years ago article years back when Tristan Thompson was at Texas they almost beat on the first rally last night a I believe without Reggie Hamilton and all those I guide your Valentine was there as well users agents and yet keep and said god your Valentine's huge in the you kids get what do you say call your journal I call me monitored nobly because you cookie right yeah I am so fun bass on defense back in my heyday Hey what about member James what hello this person about yeah that's what I want to talk about yeah this is James I don't have any director like they used to like classes out at like eleven kids and I ordered a pizza and he was like I say please anyone take my money until I like said police almost like all right transaction manners and fellow really at the bottom moved on by the time I got there I don't know I I just remember screaming at like like a bunch of ten year olds who didn't live there is there for fun best part about that there's a the tall the tall red had called him big rag on the line yeah we some size to a size that was that was the best one so on the lake or people over slept yeah yeah we blow whistles in your room in the dorm rooms and you know that's a great camp thanks yeah it was fun that's fun it was competitive to it when we had those like little mini seasons in the playoffs yeah okay chante Sean friends was there and I guess speaker Randy stocky yeah yeah there was an open runs that was right for Denzel Valentine got to up Michigan state he was there coming out of high school yeah Denzel was a huge a huge name at Michigan state terrible ankle injury sidelined him with the Chicago Bulls so what's next for you personally will currently producing music but I'm also still ready to get back on the court I took the year off you know to nurse the knees you know gonna give him some rest here and there but I'm definitely ready to start pushing back getting in shape to get back overseas and I'm also you know making music in my spare time well that's awesome so I'm going overseas how big was coach campy giving you a a contract over there was he any factor in that send your game film talking to other coaches Fauria yeah it was it was pretty much like any film I needed he he hooked me up with Alex garland I was the video coordinator and he made sure I had everything I needed so they even made me I liked it so I could shift around so he was definitely a big help you know they got as like they they want a whole games so I was able to get those no questions asked so he's definitely department well that's awesome definitely for a you hopefully they're gonna make a run in the NCAA tournament next year anymore questions for person Gibson at eight hundred nine two three nine three eight five the red wings tickets are still up for sale all completely free actually so eight hundred nine two three nine three eight five.

"My good friend Tom current took to Twitter yesterday with a naughty word there. We had to blur his tweet. How do you bleep cana- guy who came with one year of NFL coordinator experience after one season then turn around and higher guy with no NFL coaching experience at all and do it with a straight face. That's a reference, obviously, the what happened in Arizona. Right. Steve Wilks out cliff Kingsbury in Tom Curren, and Tom I want to start with Josh mcdaniels staying put into England yet. Again, I reported over the weekend patriots were preparing for him to leave doesn't mean he was gonna leave. But they were preparing for the Packers job is one that he apparently was very interested in maybe the Browns. Why do you think at the end of the day he stayed put? I don't think that the two thousand eighteen coaching cycle many favors, reputation wise, I think he's still might be a little bit radioactive in terms of having backed out of that Indianapolis Colts interview having hired three guys you've worked out terrific in Indianapolis for that team. I think it left a Mark probably two guys the fact that the presumption is and I'm over and over and over again that that's not the case. But the presumption is that he is the parents Bill Belichick probably has people at the point where you know, what he he gets cold feet. He's heir-apparent Kabila check. He's taken fourteen head coaching interview since two thousand nine and only accepted one job. What are we doing, Tom? Here's my theory. My theory is that beyond whether or not Josh mcdaniels is going to change his mind on his own. There's a concern that he's never getting out of the building on that last day to pack up his things, right? They're gonna pull them into a conference room. They're to lock the door. And they're not letting. Him out until he commits to staying. That's what happened last year. And I would be to find the Packers. And I have them ready to go. It's going to happen again this year. Thousand percent exactly what happened is as I had a related to me. He went in that day with the intention to cleaning out his office. And it was only then that he was actually shown that the patriots wanted to keep him around. So that's the problem is is Chris does the team keeps everything so close to the vest. Right people. Find it hard to believe. But. Gosh, did not have any indications. The patriots wanted him to stick around and perhaps continue with them until after the Super Bowl was played. And he was packing up his office. Yeah. It is. I in Tom. You're right. I've been there and you're right. There's a lot of people in the dark in that whole organization. That's do your job and let Bill figure everything else out. But you do you think they've promised anything to this point to your knowledge that mcdaniels will be the successor to Bill Belichick. Have you heard any of that? No, they have not been assured anything who has not been promised anything. I certainly believe that he would be in the mix. But I don't think that there is any I know that there's no you are the next guy in line. You certainly would be in the mix. But there is no promise. And that's part of the reason he has been so adamant were so adamant last off season. But I still want to be a head coach me NFL moving away from Indianapolis. I think that that can certainly be looked at as a misstep even though I don't think I'd wanna work jimmer say either. Right. Yeah. The way that's turned out. I I wrote a this week calling the irony bowl, Chris, and we all laughed at him. Chris when he said that. The rivalry stack on because like okay, you went for twelve. Rebekah and you don't ever head coach. But anyway, so all right. So the next thing I wanna ask you is your knowledge of how serious do you think? Green Bay Josh mcdaniels danced in this whole situation before they finally realized it wasn't gonna work. How serious did it get in your evaluation? Tom. I gotta be honest. I can't characterize how seriously okay? Took each other. I do know that if you look at work Josh would probably like to work with it would be a young quarterback. I think was probably the most attractive landing spot as everyone has long since agreed upon. But the fact that Sean Dorsey and Chris Ballard was so closely connected in Kansas City. I wonder how much that impacted John Dorsey not even contacting Josh mcdaniels for an interview. You know, Chris Ballard is buddy. Inning at the altar. Maybe that wasn't something that he wanted to get into. This presumption. This presumption lingers that Josh mcdaniels eventually takes over the ballot check. But I remember sitting with Robert Kraft a couple of years ago at the league meetings and craft said he wants to coach into his eighties, and I look at ballot check. And I look at how his life is being consumed with football. What else is he gonna do? I don't see him walking away anytime soon. And I thought I've always thought that was. Since probably fourteen fifteen sixteen that this upcoming season will be the one where everybody gets a clean break. Twenty nineteen is when greatest contract is twenty years. Kony season since took over up gronkowski's up. It would make some sense. But you're right. I don't like the way things went last off season with a lot of the inner turmoil, and you know, the pissing contest with a quarterback that at some point. Bella just going to say, you know, what this is. It's not even the NFL that I knew but this season, Mike, I agree with you. Yes. Not giving any indication. He and Brady certainly are in what I would call a detente at this point. It could change given contracts. You'll situation how that ends up playing out this off season. But right now, I think though, Bella checks and doing being Bill Belichick. All right. So let let's turn our attention to the chargers game a little bit. You know, what your knowledge of Brady's health status? Right. Is he healthy? We've heard rumors that he's been dealing with some, you know, Dink's here and there, and what's just the overall feel the patriot fan base going to the playoffs. Usually you guys are very confident you're going to win it. It does seem a little different this year. It is different Brady right now, I think is solid as it could be physically the MC L he suffered against Tennessee when they tried that pass from element to Brady has been healed. And I think you saw some throws in the final game against the jets, even though that was a walkover we're Brady what is good as you look all year including throw on the run for a touchdown to Philip gore set for how this team will do. There are I mean, it's been a coronation in the AFC since Peyton Manning left. And even when Peyton Manning was here in two thousand fifteen what part of the league thousand fifteen you still felt as if the patriots could go with the Denver and win that game because manning was so inept, so we got fourteen fifteen sixteen years since we've actually had it in. Participated Salins right playoff game here in New England during during the playoffs. So yeah, there's a lot of trepidation here. Right now. I think Chris, but Tom I think it works out perfectly for the patriots. The fact that there is so much doubt that they aren't presumed to be the favourite to emerge in the AFC doesn't that play right into their hands. Isn't that exactly? But they need right now to win the next two games and get back to the Super Bowl. It is a galvanizing. No one believes enough even around here. They're doubting us hyper approach, but I think on the other hand too. If you don't have the horses. You don't have the horses. They have been desperately poor against the run this year. I mean. Things within their multiple games offensively where they they didn't get out of you know, the teams you don't see that very often scoring ten in three different games. So I think the struggle is real. Real quick. We all have a lot of time. So you've got to answer this quickly. But what's your what we have thirty seconds? Brian florez? What what is this status there is he going to get a head coaching job somewhere in the NFL, Tom? I don't.

"Guy that has the ability to make any throw is a magician on the field but that's college this is the nfl can it translate sean dorsey is rolling the dice that it will i think the jets the jets are the big winners a month ago you're sitting at pick six and say there's no chance we're getting sam darnold who'd i believe is the best quarterback in the draft then they move up to three and you still think probably not gonna get sam darnold here because he could go one if he doesn't go one we thought all along it was could be josh allen at number one turns out to be baker mayfield and if the darnold sitting there the giants may wind up taking them at number two and that doesn't happen you just sit and wait at three the best quarterback in the draft falls you and i think the jets who go back to two thousand nine they've been the thirty first ranked passer rating in the nfl they finally get a quarterback and it may not be this year that he's the full time starter but to me at some point you hand him the reins at this season and then in two thousand nine hundred nine he becomes your fulltime starter i think the jets got their quarterback of the future i totally understand mock draft so what you're thinking is a teams need and where they might go whatever you guys want predicting per se i totally get that but mel i gotta go to you and ask you this question josh allen slot in the number seven in picked up by buffalo you had him going number one and your ma madre do you think that those tweets that he got in a little bit of trouble from ultimately made that decision or do you believe the browns when they say baker mayfield was i got you don't know it because they're never going to say got it and you never decision they said four and six we ourselves you believe is what i'm told the night before the draft decision was made a month before.

"Affirmed I'm Siamese occur with the do list and I'm bound Fleischmann co host of the cooler podcast, a song from a pair of twins. Now. Six. That's a baby from France and the twin sisters, and that's a song about not giving into despair whatever the oppressor says, and I just love how you can hear the jazz in the afro Caribbean influence is in their voices that come from their Cuban father who wants played with the super grow from Cuba the when a vista social club and from their French finished. Walea mother. Yeah. I mean, speaking of their Africare vian heritage. The twins liked to integrate you rubel into their artwork. Yes. Language from Africa. Yeah. And their name actually means twins and Uraba in their latest album. Ash features credits from saxophonist Kamasi, Washington, and Michelle indicate cello. The ABI sisters played the Fillmore in San Francisco tonight, Friday, April thirteenth. Sorry for the short notice, but the scramble is totally worth it. That's a sample from a new dance by Sean Dorsey and his work is always political. And in some way, a funny and moving, he's transgender and queer, and his brand new pieces called boys in trouble about how toxic masculinity is making trouble for the whole world. I often this helps at all, but I both make Andy quiche in, oh, it's about being a a man from a trans and queer perspective. And this is a very up to the moment dance for Dorsey with the metoo movement still boiling and new attacks, LGBTQ rights and also just beautiful dancing from them. Yeah. I mean, there's a fascinating backstory to this piece. He actually spent two years traveling across the country exploring masculinity. So he hosted forums, talk classes, interviewed people, and otherwise connected with folks on the masculine spectrum, including those who identifies transgender SIS, gender and gender non-conforming the world premiere of Sean Dorsey, new dance piece. Boys in trouble is Thursday, April nineteenth through the twenty-first at Z space in San Francisco. That is such a great score. That's John Adams, absolute jest, and the score for a new ballet by miles Thatcher, which is part of unbound. The big festival coming to San Francisco ballet with slightly kinky tidal facture and Adams to our local Thatcher is a young soloist and choreographer with San Francisco ballet. He just moves big groups, dances around in beautiful ways. And the festival is this two week frenzy of new works by Thatcher and eleven other choreographers from much further afield. And this is artistic director. Helgi. Thomas baby has been in the planning for more than two years. He's kind of a cruel duty just isn't passionate when he talks, but he says he wants the festival to answer the question, where is ballet? Headed NAR tongue? I can't say where's should be going, but I wanted to see what today's young sought after choreographers were doing and we're we're heading. And is that going to give us a definitive answer where Bally's going? I don't know. But it has to all. Now speaking of our valley is headed the festival features, two women choreographers, which sadly is a rarity. So Annabelle Lopez, Ocho and Cathy Marston Lopez. Two thousand and sixteen piece. Broken wings is a Bali based on the life of free to Kalo and it was named one of the year's best premieres by dance Europe. Now, Marston also steps outside of the box. She's choreographed for works based on literary favorites, like Lolita and Jane Eyre. You can also catch a new piece by Alonzo king at the festival. He's going to be coming off a thirty five year celebration for his own lines ballet company. So I'm excited to see what they're gonna show us unbound kicks off Friday, April twentieth runs through eighth six at the war memorial opera house in San Francisco. A couple of quick hits. Now I want to recommend the chamber jazz. And we're listening to their song what size is see, how could I. Yeah, and they're and they're led by drummer Alan hall. He's a professor at the California jazz conservatory in Berkeley. Rattatte reminds me really, very early, Dave Brubeck where the modern jazz quartet anyway there at the California jazz conservatory in Berkeley tonight. Friday the thirteenth, and then ratatouille plays the art boutiques in San Jose Friday, April, twentieth. And if you're looking for a mellow evening while supporting a great cause singer, Geraldo Fiat will be performing full color, which is an adapted literary work about a Nigerian woman who returns home after years of estrangement. Adobe is a rich soulful singer, so I'm sure her voice in her words are gonna take us on an amazing journey. This reading will be held in honor of sexual assault awareness month, and you can catch full-color at studio grant in Oakland on Saturday, April twenty. First. Now music from an Elizabethan drama.
