"401 is pretty clearly an outlier based on how good this team actually is. Yeah, I mean, I think you can look at it in a positive way and say, well, they've had some pretty lousy injury luck even before the season started with Sean couturier. And his back problems, then cam Atkinson hasn't been playing much, now JVR is due for surgery, right? So you can look at it in a positive way. Like, hey, if they can continue to pick up some wins and then they get their best players back, then maybe there'll be a competent team, but as of right now, the betting market does not care whatsoever. The flyers, I shouldn't say that. There's been a little bit of a shift with the flyers odds of making the playoffs prior to the season starting on October 7th. We're plus 8 50. They moved roughly four and a half percent to around 5 to one. Their odds of winning the division, they're sitting in third place right now. And their odds of winning the division have went from 100 to one to 75 to one. That's like 1% to 1.3%. So there's no worry at all on the part of bookmakers here. I don't think there's been any shift in the perception of the team. But yeah, I mean, if you looked at it, if you looked at the flyers with an open mind, I guess, to start the season and maybe look at some of the teams that they were playing as being overrated. You might have done all right. I know there was people that came into the season with the strategy of I'm going to bet on the Philadelphia flyers because I really don't think they're going to be as bad as people thought they were thought they're going to be and that paid off for them. Yeah, yeah, I guess so. The only other teams here that I had a note on before we kind of got into a more bigger picture conversation about given opaque some kind of talking about this stuff on a platform like this. I had the bruins because I remember I brought them up I just didn't know what to expect from whenever you shift coaches what amount of impact we should assign to that and going from Bruce gasoline Montgomery basically it seems like there's been no difference and they're strong defensive numbers have carried over.

"Com slash checklist. How are you? Moving right back up. Crushed it. Trades, couple of trades, boys. One of our buddies. Yeah. Carolina sent defenseman Joel edmondson to Montreal for a 5th rounder and next month's draft. He is a pending UFA, so the habs are eventually dealing up for first Deb solder. Obviously, must want to sign them though. I mean, they're going after all the old St. Louis guys who won the cup there. Yeah. He's got Jake Jake the snake now. He's got edmondson if they can lock him in, but we talked about Petrie who's up for contract this year, correct? I believe he's a pending UFA. He's going to be looking that up right now. And after the playoff performance, he had them knowing that they got to be strong in the back end in order to survive. I don't know. I mean, should be interesting to see who they keep around. Yeah, peachy, he's got one more Yale left at 5. Okay, well then I'm a fucking idiot. Yeah, well, Claude nobody loves veteran defenseman more than Claude Julien, so I mean, obviously like I said, they gave up a 5th round of farms, so they must want the inside track. Oh, we're going to keep me looking like an idiot, kind of like the Jamie Ben situation. No, no, we're going to say that. Let me over again, guys. Another one, penguins traded Nick puke's dad to many for a conditional pick. 21 draft. He's going into the final year of a deal that pays him 4.1 million this year, half of which Pittsburgh will pick up. Oh, I had him as a pending UFA too, actually. So what's your take on this deal with? I like it. I mean, he showed some sick promise in Florida, especially one year that he had 50 points. He's battled injuries though. It seems like every year he's kind of this year was really tough for him and I think he only played 13 games. So you look at big prospect coming out of Minnesota from Minnesota, had a chance in Florida to play for a long time. And then a real good chance in Pittsburgh to play with some great players, but hasn't necessarily his groove in terms of where he fits into a lineup and where he can kind of play his best hockey. So now if you're thinking, what could help maybe going home playing in your home city for a team that's definitely gonna probably play you a little bit more offensively. The question is, can he stay healthy? So if he can, I think he makes a huge difference and it's a good trade. If he can't, you just feel bad for a guy who's had a tough time staying healthy in this league. I know from experience. Yeah, I think it's a good move. It's a low risk high reward type of situation. If it doesn't work out, you got one year. And I believe he's only making what for maybe four and a half. We'll full one in Pittsburgh's picking up half plus it's a contrary at contract EF one. There you go. He's going to have extra motor growth motivator for sure. In addition to being back home, also Sean couturier won the selkie with 1424 votes, he beat out Patrice bergeron and Ryan overheard of him. There's no surprise here. I mean, people have been kind of changing in the guard, maybe this guy. Yeah, I would imagine it's not as only one. He plays that full 200 foot game and he's writing a category with those guys in the sense that he can produce offense when doing it. And while playing against the top lines, and that's a special type of player. Congratulations, and I believe that's his first correct. I believe it is as well, yeah. Yeah, and that's tough competition. Last year. Yeah, I think. And I think some of these awards are almost like Asuka's like some guys just after you get nominated so many times, I think voters tend to vote nominated again even if they weren't necessarily the best three that year. But it's funny because, you know, 9 years ago now, he's picked in the top ten, and you imagine, you know, at that time a flash, and I top ten pick, hopefully, 90 point guy in the Andes hasn't turned into like an elite level score, but oh my God, could you win a Stanley Cup with this guy? Yeah. He really does do it all and he's totally lived up to why he was drafted that high because he can do it at both ends. So congrats. And pal Nate dog while it wasn't the trophy he wanted it, not the Stanley Cup, but he did win the lady banging and I had a funny quote after talking about Sid. He said, I got the call during the lady Bing now on him. That's about it. That's probably all of it get on him. So that's the modest needs McKinnon. We know. They got that big brother little brother, Batman, Robin relationship. So what do you think the odds are right now that McKinnon gets a heart trophy in his career? But think about like McDavid, there's so many players. To win an MVP, you need so many things to go right. I think he gets one. He might be maybe plus two 50 instead of minus two 50. That's kind of what I meant. For most guys, the opposite. For most guys I had no clue what was going on there. Yeah, I mean, I just got it opposite. That's all right. It should happen. Yeah, we know. I just mentioned we don't know what the gambling thing. It's plus minus. I have no fucking someday I'll explain it. Mark Giordano won the messier leadership award. Back to back years. He won it last year, I believe as well, no? I'm not sure at the top of my head, but I do know undrafted free agents or captain, man. That's quite a fucking ride. I'll never forget he went over to Russia. I don't know if he couldn't find figure out the case. He wouldn't give him a one way. And talk about a guy who completely resurrected his career. And a guy late in his career who's able to still keep up with these young guys. He's my age. Yeah. Approaching 37. Freaking nature, and you could just tell by the response from his teammates online today, like luch tweeted something out right away. Zach Ronaldo, this guy's beloved in the locker room and a leader through and through. So I'd imagine they get at least a few more of high end production out of him. I mean, the guy was one of the oldest players to ever win a Norris trophy. Was he not? Or maybe the oldest? I don't know if he was the oldest, but he was definitely up there. That was a sick year. I think one of only a few guys passed the age of 35. Simmons won it last year. Oh, okay. So this is his second one, though? No. You're just getting fucking. Oh, maybe it was the Norse I was thinking about. He's got so many awards. I'm daft street this episode. A couple more quick notes here. Sean Weiss might not be a name that is very familiar off the top of your head, but he played Goldberg in the mighty ducks movies as a kid. He posted the other day. He's been sober for about 272 days now as of Sunday. He got arrested last year that is mugshot, you know, goes violence as which happens these days. He's been battling addiction and issues for a while. Well, the kid looked great, man. He put some weight back on, you got a new set of chicklets, and he just looked happy and I don't know, I mean, I know we have a ton of mighty ducks fans out there. I just thought it was a nice story when I passed along. Obviously you wish him the well going forward, which from the best. And you know, I don't know if he's a lister or not, of any of his peers, but tell him Tom with poem farm. Yeah, he looked happy for sure. Yeah, he looked great and won the last thing. The Whit dog, will we get another little old clip of the Whit dog coming out? Who is fine in these clips? Oh my God. The Internet's a crazy place. Yeah. And apparently it was Quinn Hughes mom. That was interviewing you guys. I have no idea if that's true. I saw a bunch of the comments say that that was Quinn and Jack's mom, but I will never forget that game because it was right around Christmas time and we played Yale and we worked them and Kevin schaefer who was in the videos of freshman defenseman. He was having a sick year. Our team struggled out here. That was my junior year. We both ended up with hat tricks. He got the hat trick first. I ended up getting one late in the third. We dominated Yale. I loved them, and you know, they ended up becoming really good, but then they were shit. If you played at Yale in like 2003, your team was trash. And we rolled over them and we sucked that year, but we got wrecked after that game. And I don't know if BU had ever had two defensemen score a hat trick in the same game. So it was an exciting time now to see the interview. I get so people say I look so old in that. Benjamin button. Yeah, Benjamin button. I almost I almost don't mind it though if I'm still looking like I didn't call it. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. Really bad then. Because college girls are like, ah, dude. Professor. Yeah, are you a bartender here? Or are you in the school? But I still think that that night will be memorable because getting a hat trick in college is a defenseman. That's juergens. That's Jurgen's material, but not gonna lie. It really is. And then they have two guys. I think I drove wide. I drove wide cut in for the third one. Of course, the video I had no cups of my goals, just my stupid ears. And my interview, God, I was a fucking nerd. That was completely cliche sent. I wanted to go to somebody. In like a minute and a half segment. Somebody said, I said, you know, 7 times. 32nd clip. But I mean, the modesty was there. You were holding it back. That's probably why you were fumble fucking your words. You really want to be like, I'm gonna go, we got crap on fucking post up at the bar and swipe my old man's credit card tonight, fellas. Louis used to give me 20 bucks after each game. 20 bucks, I remember we'd go to dad's dying or freshman at B, we just all give the bartender 20 bucks and just drink all night. It was what a time. I didn't have a bank card. Those were the days. All right, boys, I think that about wraps up this stuff. It's been a long Saturday for the notes. I think that'll do. So everybody have a fantastic week and we'll catch you back here Thursday..

"With ease and was best player in the playoffs. It was a joke, but stone, I don't know if he'll be able to do it. He's a hell of a player. I don't think he's, I don't think he's kuchar off, but I think he's a leader and he's a two way player and he's an enormous part of Vegas to win the Stanley Cup, but it's not gonna be that easy. It's not gonna be as easy as kucherov made it look. So you got a good enough team. You're able to put this guy LTIR. I think it's a little different because who Trump did have surgery? I'm sure he could have played earlier, but stone's been playing. I know he's missed games this year with the back injury, but this is even a little more sketchy in terms of people being pissed off, but if you can do it, you can do it. And Vegas has the ability with their roster and their depth to put him on the sideline, not have to trade Smith, not have to trade Marshall and get into the dance and add one of their best players. Yeah. I was a little nervous when they were going to maybe have to get rid of Smith. People heard Theodore's name rumbling around. I was like, fuck off. Now RA, I think they probably got a sad stoner to the aria. The Ariel lounge there may be a little back of that little extra background or something. Hit up the lobby. Then. It was stunning how much action was going on in that particular box. A few other play notes for you. New York island, Zach prese played in his 1100th NHL game Thursday in Vancouver, congrats to him. He's the 11th player from the O three draft to play in 1100 games, the only draft that had more was the 93 draft which had 12 players who played 1100 games. You guys want to start arguing about who had the best draft of all time or are you guys want to move on? I mean, has anyone ever argued that? I hold some people online would like to, but O three was the greatest draft of all time fourth round. By a mile. I wonder if another I wonder if another draft has had 7 players. I would have been 5th overall any other fucking year. So it's not even that cool that you went 5th overall, you fucking donkey. I did go fit overall in a trash draft. I'll say that. I got a lot of lucky breaks on my way. A lot of my boys. I just like every time we talk about it, I just want to list off the first round of that draft. It's just like, boom, boom. What's interesting? Of the 11 players from the old three draft who did play 1100 games, the only one taken after the 7th round, Joe pavelski was taken in the 7th round that year. And in the 93 draft, it's interesting. We got brong Robin cyclocross bertuzzi Lang and Bruno mccabe, Vinny crossbow, but then he had tied my shot 7s round Andrew brunette 7th round Hal gill 8th round chemo timid and tenth round and Chris gratton came up 8 game short, so kudos to those guys, man. And unreal records. Well, 12 guys from one draft playing 1100 games. I think here's one of the get you going already. I think Patrice bergeron was a second rounder in the O three draft. He got that right, buddy. I had that ring. Half chub. He's got a half chub, who was their first rounder that year for the group. The bruins? I don't know if the bruins had a pick in the first round that year. Oh, wow. Fucking sending trader for bag of Nichols. Philly, Sean couturier. He's going to miss the remainder of the year after going back undergoing back surgery. He's going to be ready for the start of the next season. And there was a clip as a hub buddy Keith. I don't know if he just had it with the season. It's been a rough one and Philly, but Dylan locken going in for the fucking chucks to stick like he's done a playground. Just had it, I don't know, I don't know. I mean, we're out of this year. What? Where does that an asshole move? No buyers. Call themselves. He said, I'm an idiot for doing that. Okay, so one thing that pissed people off is it took an assist away from two guys. Is that the case? How? Why would it do that? Oh, a couple people were bitching online. I didn't even end up checking the box score, whereas you get the automatic goal just to the guy who had the puck, whereas the two other guys who moved it up. But if I had the second assist on that one and so I would have that's my bread and butter the second one. That's what I'm saying. I want to correct myself. Mark Stewart was the bruins picking O three. I Mark Schwarzenegger play with, so I apologize for that. Yan's throwing the sticks just a classic street hockey scumbag move like when he was wearing air walks with 6th grade. But the reason the reason I said that though is now that he you found that out, you probably gonna delete his number that those guys don't get, but here, no. No. Because he scored. It didn't knock the puck away, Dylan lackin still put it in the net, so it couldn't have taken the assist away if he actually scored. But that's an interesting point you brought up if they do knock it away, guys actually lose the assist. That's fine. So maybe that's what they meant. Maybe they said it could have. So I got a couple tweets about it. So I was like, damn, I don't have to delete Jan's number for doing that. We're taking away a couple guys assists with that greasy move. And now he's definitely not getting an invite to the big deal selects when he retires. The all star ratings came in. The game was the least watched since 2009 while these skills competition was the most watched since 2012. Honestly, guys, I don't think having an afternoon all that game is ideal. I mean, I know these things don't draw the biggest ratings, but Saturday afternoon. I don't think too many people at tune in, but I don't remember one thing from that game. Yeah. The skills, I mean, everyone talks about the skills. The All-Star Game while games we should go and it's a little tournament. I don't know. Like you said, nobody remembers it. Nobody's going to be talking about this. Cornell said it. And I don't know where he heard it. Make it the countries. Do something. I made it up. I made it up myself. Okay, well, give credit to G and if you don't give credit, are going to attack you for three weeks. But or do all skills and make it that hunger game slash, what's the fucking show I keep forgetting about? Squid game. Squid game. Make it so there's points that you can maybe gamble on it via an app on your phone. Maybe you can't do it like actual dollars for whatever fucking reason. But make it so friends can win prizes by voting on guys or little teams in the midst of all this. I think you should do a North America 23 and under. You should do Canada, U.S., you should do a check Slovak team. You should do Finland, Sweden. Finland, Sweden, Russia, and then create a world team of mixture. Imagine why would you have Nathan walker competing for Australia? How many people from Australia be watching the game if he could represent the world? Like, who were some other players from countries that are not maybe okay, so you'd have Roman yosi on Sunday. Kopito. Slovenia, like you're going to have a decent team of the world guys. And chances are, if you do this whole process, you'll be able to represent every single team. In the NHL. So you'll have one guy. And if you don't big fucking whoop, I think they should do away with.

"What has gone on in Philadelphia that has put them in this spot? Well, it's never one thing, right? Never. For years in Philadelphia, they chased the next best goalie, whomever that was. Yeah. At one point they, I forget the amount of money they signed Ilya Burj gala for and then a year and a half later they bought them out because he couldn't stop a curling rock. And, you know, for a while, they had Roman Czech manic. And then it was on to the next guy in the next guy. Then they draft Carter hart and it seems like they've got their goaltending solved. One of their issues is their goaltending is not good enough. They go when they trade a first round pick a second round pick and Robert hogg for harassment. Like that's an enormous pay for a second pair defenseman at best, right? Clone drew is not a clo drew of 90 point closure. No. Sean couturier has been injured in banged up. Nolan Patrick did not work out for them. Yeah. They went and signed Ryan Ellis. He's played four games for them. He's been heard. They've got young guys Joel Farrah bee and Morgan frost and they're just, I watched them play. I was in Philly like they're young. It's hard to evaluate them yet. They're just so young. Travis connect me scored 20 goals and now he looks like he's never going to score again. So I think they've lost a clear vision for what they're trying to be. I think there's always a poll in Philadelphia to be what they used to be. Right. That doesn't work anymore. They're not they're either not big enough and tough enough or they're not fast enough and skilled enough. But you can't be a little bit of both. Like you have to have 100% that identity that you can build your team into. Doesn't mean every player has got to be the same. But there has to be, you have to get on the same road. Right now, it's like a, it's a bunch of guys. Yeah. They're playing. We often talk about good goals, anything we often talk about bad cold ending. One thing we don't often talk about specific to gold attending is whether or not the goalie should be suspended for his actions on the ice. Now we know that Aaron Dell has had his hearing with the department of player safety. So while people are listening to the podcast chances are, we also know what the number of games is. You know, is it one is it two? Is it three, what is it? He takes out Drake batherson on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, batherson is heard on the play a high ankle sprain, which is going to keep him a out of the all star Brady chuck has replaced Drake batherson on the all star roster. But out of the lineup, the Ottawa senators for a considerable part point of time. That high ankle business can be tough, right? Literally could be the rest of the year..
